They changed our delivery date. Our product would not be in the warehouse, our schedule meant nothing to them. Scheduled time came and went. They arrived 1 hour late. By this time we had missed our grandson's birthday celebration. Sent drivers that could not figure out how to get furniture into the house, nor did they speak English. Called the store where purchased, said they couldn't do anything about it. Asked for supervisor or cooperate or I would speak to my attorney.. They got rude. Thank you Maritsa or Melissa, whoever you were. When you spend over $2000 you expect good service. I will never use them again or recommend them.

Last summer I went to the Ashley showroom to purchase a love seat for my living room. After walking laps around the store, sitting on every love seat, comparing color matches to a cushion I had brought with me, I made my selection. Once I got the love seat into my home, unwrapped it and was putting it together, I noticed the cushions on the backside are not upholstered! A nylon fabric covers the backside with Velcro tabs that secure the cushion to the chair. When I called Ashley to complain, I was asked why I didn't look underneath the cushions on the showroom floor. What? Why would I ask that? Am I crazy for assuming a sofa or chair cushion would be upholstered on both sides?
Now I have a love seat with cushions that I cannot turn occasionally to avoid wear and extend the life of the cushions, something I have always done. This was my first AND last Ashley furniture purchase. But hey, I accept full responsibility. I apologize to my local downtown furniture store for not coming to them for my love seat. They have been my furniture store for 30 years. Yes, I would have paid $100 more, but I would have upholstery on two sides of the cushions, if not, they would have taken it back! Lesson learned.

My wife and I ordered furniture from this company around 7 Dec, was informed that due to the holidays they had no openings till the day after Christmas for delivery. We agreed, well the time came and went and after many calls from my wife we finally got our furniture exactly 1 month and 2 days after purchase. On this day we noticed that the new dining room table, two of the four chairs had issues of that one leg out of four did not reach the ground. I proceeded to call the store and warranty repair, in which I keep getting told they would get back with me or I would just get an answering service. Finally after four days of calls I finally got a call back to schedule a review of the furniture in which I was told I would have to wait another week before that could happen because I was not fast enough to get on the current weeks repair list and they were all full up. I recommend you steer clear of this company, find one that cares and actually stands behind their equipment and warranties.

I purchased a sofa and chair from Ashley in Gaithersburg, MD. The two delivery fellows brought the plastic covered boxes into my living room and proceeded to tear into them as though they were double parked. When they finished assembling the furniture and were picking up the plastic and cardboard, we saw that our brand new (3 days old), very expensive, light gray wool carpet had been soiled. When I signed the delivery receipt, I noted the damage to the carpet. One of the men called his dispatcher, who we heard say clearly on his cell phone, "You know you're supposed to remove the dirty plastic before you carry the boxes into the house."
I called Customer Service and spoke to a dispatcher named Dana who asked me to submit photos (which I did) and to determine the cost of cleaning the carpet. When I called back and told him the price, he said he would check with his boss for approval and post a credit to the charge card I had used. That was 2 weeks ago. Since then, I have called at least 4 times; I cannot reach him and he will not call me back. That's customer service? I'm telling everyone I know not to deal with Ashley since they obviously don't care about the company's reputation.

Went to Ashley looking for a recliner. Now, I know any furniture store is nothing but a front for the biggest scam on the planet: Sell cheaply made junk at the highest price possible to consumers who don't know any better. I sat in at least 15 different recliners, and found that each and every one of them was absolute garbage. Now, I understand that in order to get quality, you need to pay for it. I wasn't looking at recliners that were $399. I was looking at $1100 and up. And, I understand that there's a quality level for each person. I don't expect to get a bomb proof piece of furniture, for next to nothing. And, I WILL pay for quality. Only problem is, I didn't see anything that was worth HALF of what they were asking. To top that off, the sales person was a pushy moron, and acted like I OWED it to him to buy something - after he spent 4 minutes talking to me. Never again.

Purchased 5 motorized chairs. All motors failed within 1-year warranty and were replaced. On inspection all motors were made in China. All had the same plastic gear that failed. Ashley would not put us in contact with motor company to buy extra gears. Would only replace each motor at $150.00 - installation not included. They would not tell us where to buy wood handles that could operate the recliners. They sell the same recliners without motors that are operated with manual handles. The original replaced motors all failed in about 6 months.

In September I went to the Anderson SC store and purchased two beds, one for my son and the other for my granddaughter for Christmas. I arranged for them to be delivered on 12/23, when truck arrived did not have my granddaughter's bed which was a Christmas gift. The bed for my son was put together and one of the support legs was not put on because the deliverer did not have a screw. I was told my granddaughter's bed would be delivered on 12/24, was not then I was told 01/02 then only to be told it would be 01/05. Seems Ashley Furniture does not stand behind their word and is not concerned for their customer. I ask that the leg for my the bed be put on when my granddaughter gift was delivered and was told "I will check into it." I would not recommend anyone to Ashley Furniture. My son's bed also had a gap in it and nothing has been mentioned about that. VERY POOR COMPANY.

I just moved from Michigan to Georgia and wanted to buy my daughter a new desk. I looked online and saw a desk that I liked. I went to Ashley Furniture and they stated that they didn't have the desk in the store but can get the desk from the warehouse. The desk got delivered this morning and within a few hours we saw how cheap it was made and how it was not worth the money we paid. We called the store and they told us that there is no returns and there is nothing they will do. I am so so angry about this. How can a company do this?

I brought 4,000 worth of furniture. Once the furniture arrived the nightstand was broken. I purchased a slay bed with draws. The draws didn't fit in proper. The reclining chair was the floor model. The delivery people made notes of the problem. Management promise to call me and never did. I call three times and never got to speak to any manager. Someone from the repair department called one week later saying I need to wait 2 months before the parts come in. The parts were coming from another country. I said come and take all the furniture out of my house asap. Nobody tried to please me as a customer. He said ok. I paid cash for my furniture. Never will I purchased from them again.

Overall I am pleased with most of the furniture we bought from Ashley Furniture that is until last night when I sat on the sofa and noticed some fuzz like what might come out of a stuffed animal so I removed a throw pillow from my sofa and noticed more from underneath where the arm rest is. I put my hand underneath to see and noticed there is a zipper underneath there, I tried to zip it but it's one of those nylon zippers and it would not zip. The 2 halves are attached by the pull but it will not work. I checked the other armrest and that one is fine. It is just my husband and myself so nobody has ever touched this. I was very disappointed when I called the people for the furniture protection plan only to find out it is not covered. I then called the store, they wouldn't help either cause we purchased it a little over a year ago. This had to have been this way from the time of purchase, I never would of even noticed if the fuzz hadn't started coming out. I think I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

I purchased a living room set, a mocha sectional made by Ashley furniture but sold by this local store oak furniture. The chair started to change color after one month gradually it became a dirt color. I went to the retail store. He refused to work with me so I contacted Ashley through their website. They sent the same dealer to see the chair and the dealer reported back to me that Ashley said that I wiped my hands in the chair. I further contacted Ashley so they could speak to me directly but to no avail. The dealer just kept selling me another set. I wrote back to Ashley but to this day no reply. I felt that I got a bad deal from this store and Ashley was the maker of that furniture so they had a responsibility to help me. To this day the owner of the store kept saying Ashley asked him to sell me a new set with 25% discount.

I told them I no longer want this and said I would like to return this for something at equal value. They refused and said according to the agreement they can cannot take it back. When I argued my case concerning the time frame this was taking. They changed their story and said they cannot take it back due to animal hair being on the chair. They sold us a defective chair and refused to make it right. I will never use this company again. The worst customer service that I have ever encountered.

On 9-29-14, I purchased a bed from Ashley Furniture Store in Lancaster, Ca. The day it was delivered, I woke up that morning at 3:00 in so much pain! The bed was like a rock! I went back to the store that same day and assumed I could get a refund or exchange. Well, after I purchased it, the back of the paper work says, no refunds or exchanges on any beds! First store I have ever come across this. The manager said it takes 6 wks.+ to break it in, another unheard of thing. Since that was not disclosed to me at time of purchase, I was given an exchange. The manager (Jag) said the mattress I exchanged would not get any softer because it was on the showroom floor for over 4 mos. Well, in less than 2 mos. the bed is so soft, I went back again to see the manager and found that the bed on the showroom floor was so much softer, so, was not told the truth about that.
His (manager) dishonesty to me and the fact it is not posted anywhere that there are no refunds or exchanges on beds, I had hoped he would do the right thing. He said, there was nothing he could do. That he gave me a courtesy exchange once already. I have been diagnosed w/ severe hip and back problems, so the bed I sleep on is of extreme importance! Now, the box spring lining is falling off! This has been one big nightmare which can cause stress, which can cause and does cause more pain. I am 60 yrs. young and weigh 112 lbs., 5'6", so it's not my weight that has caused this. The fact that they don't offer any kind of return policy is not fair. And if that's there policy, they rightfully should have it posted for customers to see, before they buy a bed. This is failure to disclose something of grave importance.

My wife and I were interested in a certain living room set but were told by the Ashley salesperson that the set was not in stock. We selected another living room set that consisted of a couch, love seat, two chairs (all pieces were electric recliners) and several tables that we were assured was in stock and could be delivered within two weeks. The date of the order was November 7th. Before the delivery, Ashley called to confirm the delivery date. During that call they confirmed all of the pieces they would deliver but had no record of the couch even though it was on my receipt. We agreed to move the delivery date to a date Ashley said the couch would be available so that all could be delivered at once.
When Ashley delivered the furniture on the new date there was no couch, a wrong table was delivered, the loveseat was damaged and one of the recliners did not work right. We contacted the store and was put in touch with their customer service. They promised to replace the love seat and chair, exchange the table for the right one and deliver the couch. After checking their computer a new delivery date was selected when all of the pieces would be available. On the new delivery date all that came was the replacement chair and table. No loveseat or couch. Once again we contacted Ashley's customer service and they checked their computer and they gave us a new date for the delivery of the couch and replacement loveseat of December 20th.
A few days before December 20th Ashley called to say that the loveseat was in but the couch was not due in until December 22nd. I asked about cancelling the order and was told that Ashley would charge us a 20% restocking fee along with a fee to pick up the furniture. The furniture did not arrive December 20th. Ashley asked us to reschedule the delivery until December 29th and we agreed. On December 26th Ashley called to say that they could deliver the replacement loveseat and could give me a new delivery date on the couch but could not guarantee that it would be delivered even then. We would not have purchased the furniture if it were not for the promise by both the salesperson and one of the managers at the Shiloh, Illinois store that the furniture was in stock. We have purchased furniture from Ashley before but will never do so again.

We got out the paperwork and on Dec. 19th went to the store with all paperwork and were told to take photo and e-mail to store which we did on Dec. 20th. Store called me Dec. 22nd 3-4 times changing story. I called store at 3:34PM and asked to speak to mgr. 'Sorry is at lunch will have them call you'. Store called back at 4:22 PM. Paige told me rips, tears, stains, burns covered but seams are not, asked for Mgr. again, still at lunch, waited till 6:38 PM still no call.
Went to store on 12-26-2014 asked to see Mgr. told had to go to rear of store to see them, said I would wait upfront. After about 1/2 hour the police came and asked me to leave store as I was being disruptive, then 2 Managers came upfront, Asked them about no call and why did not come up to see me until police were called and got there, no reply. Marlene gave me main office information Phone for customer service and service department and I had to contact them. The service department number was an invalid #. I have called the warranty company GBS and am told must submit photos and information to them which I will do. Hopefully they are better to deal with than Ashley. On 11/12 14 I purchased furniture from Ashley's and was told everything was in stock. This was important because a new tenant was moving to the house on 12/01/14. Left delivery date open, so that new house could be cleaned and vacated. Was under the impression that the living room set included a loveseat/recliner. On 11/20/14, furniture was delivered minus end tables, lamps, coffee table, rug, throw blanket, and lamps. A question arose about the loveseat. I expected a loveseat/recliner and received a regular loveseat. I call customer service and was told that the piece should have been a loveseat/recliner and to refuse the loveseat. Ashley would deliver a loveseat/recliner in the near future.
On 11/29/14 Ashley's showed up with a rocker/recliner lounge chair and not a loveseat/recliner. I refused the lounge chair. It was now two days before my tenant was to move in. On 11/29114 at 3:05 P.M. I call the Palm Desert store and asked to speak to the store manager, Jessie **. I was told he was busy and talked to an assistant manager named Robert **. He said he would check into the situation and call me back. Instead he pawned me off to my salesman, Raul **. ** called me at 3:40 P.M. ** told me a loveseat/recliner was not available in that collection and that he would fax me information on a rocker/recliner for me to consider. ** never faxed nor called me back. I am now getting very angry.
On 11/30/14, one day before my tenant moves in, I called Raul ** at 2:02 P.M. and he said that he would get back to me on a new delivery date. I asked him when, and he said he would call in twenty minutes. I reminded him that he never called or faxed me the day before, and ** Promised me that he would call me back. HE NEVER DID CALL BACK! On 11/30/14, at 6:59 P.M. I called the store and asked for the store manager Jessie ** or the assistant store manager Robert **, and was told that they were " both busy". I left messages for both managers to call me back that evening. NEITHER CALLED ME BACK!
I now realized that I was dealing with a store that was interested in selling goods only and not interested in servicing their customers. It is Ashley's corporate culture not to return phone calls. I don't know how the managers got their positions, but I recommend "DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ASHLEY'S!" On 12/01/14 Tenant is now moving into the house and missing some furniture. I called customer service in Wisconsin (I gave up on Palm Desert) and talked with Laurie a supervisor. She arranged for a final delivery of a regular loveseat on 12/09/14 and was very helpful.
In summary, I am a retired executive who owned and ran three retail stores that sold outdoor patio furniture amongst other products. I did this for 38 years and know what service is or should be. The managers Jessie ** and Robert ** and my salesperson Raul ** don't give a damn about customer service. This is evident by their unwillingness to return phone calls and solve problems. A competitor (Mathis Brothers), a store at which I also bought furniture at the same time, is night and day compared to Ashley's. YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY THEM - THEY SERVICE.

Also he did not provide any information on the return policy. We bought a Ashley sleep foundation plush top mattress and end up getting the next day with lots of back pain. We purchased a living room set from Ashley a month ago. When the loveseat was being delivered by their servicemen, they scratched it. We submitted a claim to have it repaired/replaced. For three weeks now we get the run around that someone will contact us to address the issue, yet we never hear back from anyone. Customer service is untrained, unprofessional, rude, unacceptably slow, and disinterested in our issues. I am a lawyer and travel a lot. I should not be spending 2 hours a day on the phone, or an hour in the store each day to resolve an issue which should have a quick and easy fix. Maybe Ashley Furniture needs to look at their reviews, as it seems I am not the only angry customer here, and address these very pressing matters with its customer service employees!
What is worse is that store managers are just as inefficient, rude, and condescending. After three weeks of dealing with these issues, we asked to return the living room set (because as you may imagine, we have had enough and want to retract our money spent on products from a company, which does not deserve our business) and now we are told according to company policy, we cannot return the living room set! So not only did they immediately devalue our property upon delivery and are unwilling to fix the mistake, but they are not letting us return their damaged loveseat and get our money back! Next step will be filing a complaint with a consumer agency.

Purchased washer and dryer from Ashley’s furniture. Paid around $1700 when we bought them in November 2013. Three months ago, we had issues with the washer and dryer. The washer wasn't filling properly, we were getting white film on clothing, and we had a fire in the dryer. We had issues with the dryer before, like it just wasn't working. Finally, when the fire started in the dryer, they figured that the dryer was a safety issue so that they were going to replace that. That was Maytag though, not really Ashley Furniture. So Maytag came along and they ended up replacing both the washer and the dryer. They sent a store credit to Ashley Furniture. However, Ashley Furniture told us that we had to buy the exact same product and Maytag definitely did not want us to buy the same product. They wanted us to buy a completely new product but Ashley would not hear of it. So we ended up getting the same product in.
Back on September 3rd they tried to deliver the dryer to me without the washer and with loose screws in the bottom of it. I refused to take that because I mean, if there’s screws loose in the bottom of it, why would I take it in because it’s already broken? I didn’t accept it. I waited 10 weeks for this because they ordered the wrong product the first time. They ordered the washer. This was the dryer. So then I had to wait another three weeks.
I wasn’t home on the 10th when they tried to deliver the washer and the dryer this time and they delivered it in the house. And when I asked, “Was there any screws loose or anything?” they said, “No, we got you a brand new one.” Then on the weekend here, it would have been on the 13th, we ended up with water all underneath our washer. We had to move the dryer out and realized there were screws... We did have issues with the dryer right from the get-go. Like when we started it up, it made a lot of noise and it was vibrating pretty bad. So they said that they would put a service call out for us.
When I talked to the lady, her name is Tanya at the customer service, she’s some high-up person there, she said that they are allowed to deliver broken things and that they will just have them fixed when they get to the house. I said that if they knew that something was not working properly, that they would actually deliver it. She said, “Absolutely not.” She said, “Sometimes, we deliver stuff and we don’t know.” And I said, “I totally get that.” But they tried to tell me also that they had switched out the product. I said, “How did you switch it out in two days when it took me three weeks each time to get a product in?” Because it was supposed to be a special order that I was doing that I didn’t realize. I said, “We ended up with this broken dryer and now we’ve got to get all these parts ordered?” They will not come back and take this and give us a new one so now I got to wait 14 days for the parts to come in and there’s actually more wrong with it than what we initially thought when the tech came over. We have lint coming down inside of it like really badly that could cause a fire…
I have to buy a lot more appliances. And guess where they will be? I’ll be going back to the store that I normally buy stuff from.

In 2011, I purchased about $4,000 worth of furniture from Ashley Furniture in Altoona, Pa. I was told to purchase the 5-year warranty, and if anything were to go wrong within that 5 years it would be covered.
Within less than a year the couch and recliner started to deteriorate. I contacted the Montage Service Center and they compensated for the sectional couch because Ashley furniture no longer carried it, and sent the replacement piece for our recliner chair. Less than a year after that, the rest of the chair became damaged. I submitted a claim to Montage Furniture, and after several back and forth email messages, and a call from the supervisor, they said it could not be covered, because damage did not go all the way to the foam.
In 3 out of the 6 pictures that I sent, it DID go ALL the way to the foam. I discourage anyone from buying any type of "leather" furniture from Ashley furniture, and certainly do not buy the protection plan. It is bogus, and they will not honor it. We had our furniture moved out and ready for the new furniture and it never showed and no phone call. We called the store and they said they were unable to reach us. They were calling the wrong number--our home number but we had told them to please call either of our cell phone numbers. I gave the store the correct number and they said they would put in the computer. We never got a call, so I called again. They said they couldn't reach us again--calling wrong number again.
After many calls I asked for the supervisor of deliveries. Spoke with a Sharon and she said the number was in the notes but not in the "right spot." Long story short- still calling wrong number; wrong couch delivered twice; during last delivery they gave us a yard job; called corporate office to complain and was told I would get a call back within 24 hours and still no call. I have pictures of the yard, but can't upload.

We bought 2 matching sofas on September 28, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. We moved to New York in Feb. of 2012, the sofas made the trip just fine in Pods. In June, 2012 the motor on the right side of the power sofa stopped working, Montage replaced it (we have the insurance). Then in December, 2013 the motor on the other side of the sofa stopped working, once again Montage replaced that one. The other sofa is not a power sofa. Now, about 6 months ago we started noticing the fabric flaking off the sofa where our heads sit. I contacted Ashley and they only guarantee the fabric for one year! I must say I will never buy from Ashley furniture again. The other sofa is beginning to flake in the same area as the power sofa. The photo shows the most wear on the right side where we mostly sit, of course! Very, very poor investment to purchase from Ashley.

I purchased a bedroom set & when it was delivered, I found that the railing was severely damaged, so I returned the part & told the company to request a replacement railing to be delivered. However, the company never confirmed for the replacement delivery schedule until I called 5-6 times and asked. Every time I called, I was told "The customer service agent/manager is not here..."
Finally, a week later, the replacement part was delivered but AGAIN, SAME DAMAGE!!! Customer service gave me the SAME run-around. Refuse it...request for return. I was very frustrated with their lack of service & asked to talk to manager, but was told they were in a meeting, that I would be called in 30 minutes, just like the other 10 times I called. I never received any calls back. I am now stuck with an INCOMPLETE very large bedroom set. And I will never do business with the Burbank, CA Ashley Furniture Location EVER again. My new bedroom set and living room entertainment center was delivered Wed., Dec. 3rd from Ashley's Furniture. The first time I sat on the bed, the bottom frame broke and a board cracked in half. It was late so I called the damage and repair dept. the next morning. I was asked to email a picture and they would call back. I did not get a call back for a day and a half. I was told as a courtesy they would ship me a new side board. I said "as a courtesy, you have got to be kidding me." I buy a brand new bedroom set and they aren't going to come fix my brand new broken bed. Not only were they not going to fix it but she said it's not covered under mfg. warranty. I got on the phone and got the runaround. Not one time could I talk with a Store Manager. Then I was finally told they are coming out on Dec 24 that is 3 weeks after delivery. They will come and try to fix. If they can't fix it then they are going to ship the board.
It gets worse every time I talk to them and they get ruder. I was told by one of the customer service managers to go to Home Depot and buy boards to support. My husband and I decided to take the junk boards that are suppose to hold a king mattress and burn them. That's about all those thin boards were good for. I was glad I saved the metal frame from my old bed. We replaced the junk wood with the metal frame.
The delivery guys left trash under my bed. They didn't put the entertainment center together properly. It was seriously about to fall over and the shelf was ready to fall on my tv. It also has scratches on it. My husband has to put it together properly and he's going to have to modify it with better bolts and support brackets so it doesn't fall down on any of my kids. And to top it all off, they decided all mfg. warranty is now voided and nothing will ever be covered under warranty because I have a small home business with 3 little kids I watch in my home daycare.
This place has to be the worst place I ever dealt with. I will NEVER buy another thing from them and will warn everyone I know how hard it is to deal with these people. I found out my neighbor had the same problems. Her son's bed fell apart and the delivery guys left a mess. I really wished I had read these reviews prior to going there.

I am a previous employee as well as a customer. I will speak honestly concerning both aspects. Ashley Furniture is a cheap and greedy company who builds furniture in an assembly line and pays the assembly workers by the piece so you can imagine how it is thrown together. They claim 'built in America’, and the misleading part of that statement is that though it is thrown together here in the United States, many pieces and parts are shipped in from overseas and used to build cheaper quality furniture. I bought a loveseat, and returned the first two at delivery. The 3rd still isn't as it should be.
They speak of 'chemical free' furniture, but the chemicals and poisons used in the manufactured pieces from overseas are not as chemical free as they claim. On many days myself and co-workers would suffer nausea, headaches, and dizziness from the fumes when new furniture was placed into the showroom. They are in denial to avoid taking responsibility for these chemicals, as they stand on government approval for a 'safe level' of toxins coming out of this stuff. Maybe ONE sofa is at a safe level, but for those purchasing a room or a house full of furniture it is a health risk. Also, know that over time the breaking down of the stuffing fibers allows gases into the air every time you sit on the cushions. Let’s not mention working in 60,000 square feet of the stuff and breathing it all into your lungs day in and day out.
As far as working as part of the sales team? And I use the word 'team' VERY lightly! Ashley favors their top sales writers, excusing their behavior. They cover up the lying, back stabbing, dishonest sales people and often take your hard earned commissions and split it with them to keep them happy. They find excuses to write you up to protect their greedy writers. The bottom line is that if you are a good, honest, and decent person, then stay out of this place! It’s a very poor system for any human being to work in. It’s the only company I have ever been a part of where you pay to work for the company.
They give you a 'draw' that you pay back every week. They promise high commissions so you 'rarely' fall into the draw/red. Keep in mind you only get paid in the first place once an order is delivered, not at the time of the writing of the sale. If a customer cancels the sale, the hours you spent with them to choose it all is work for nothing. They also misled me in the interview process about the actual employee turnover numbers. I left two months ago and three more have walked since then out of this store. For every holiday the entire crew is required to work open to close three days running. You are required to work every single entire weekend year round. The thanks you get? It’s certainly not a paycheck. It is in the form of financial, physical, and mental exhaustion. Take care.

Just purchased over $6000 of product on my son’s bedroom suite and our bed. Our son’s furniture was not correct when it finally arrived and we sent back. Sales lady (Angela) on first day we were there was very slick and told us what we wanted to hear "you have 90 days to bring back" on a TEMPUR-PEDIC and moving base. We purchased and gave it 2 weeks and figured out that for sure we could not sleep on it at all. Called Ashley back they said "well give it 2 more weeks and lets see if you get use to it." So we did, still can’t sleep on it. So we went in to the Ashley store. Then they tell us the $1500 base is not refundable!
So after I almost ripped their head off for not telling me that when I purchased it we picked out a regular mattress that we both liked that was cheaper ($1200). Then they told us that the exchange had to be at the same price! Then we were very ticked off so talked to a manager (Nicholas **). He was no help at all. Told us however we could pick what ever out and he would exchange, costing us $300 to exchange the $2600 mattress! We agreed and waited until the day before the delivery date and called to find out that no order was made to deliver anything!
My wife and I both got on different phones and both called at the same time. She was told that our son’s bedroom suite was now cheaper than we paid, (we were also told while signing financing papers that we could call and get sale price within the first 30 days). The lady on the phone gave the call to someone else that explained that because we financed we could not get the sales price! Would they really give us a sale price after purchase if we bought in cash? So do they give cash back to a customer when they have a sale on the same item they just purchased days before? I doubt it. My call was the 2nd call in the same day. Talked to the same guy (John) that told me he would find out and call back, waited 7 hours and called again and then he says he will get the manager to call me.
So no new mattress for us just an over priced sponge on a motorized base that we can’t sleep on. Don’t be surprised if Ashley Furniture closes in Greensboro. I will do my part in making that happen! If it was legal I would burn the building down!

King size bed frame broke within two weeks. Purchased a king size mattress, box springs, frame, foot and headboards from the North Branch location on Nov. 2nd. Two weeks after delivery the bed crashed to the floor, the frame broke along with middle supports. Called customer service and they did give an in store credit. Went to Woodbury Ashley furniture to get a new metal frame. North Branch Manager said that frame that broke is not heavy duty. I'm 190 and fiancée is 150 and has back problems. They wanted us to pay additional for metal frame that I found unacceptable. PS CS manager was very rude and uncooperative.
I called the sale person the next day Fri Nov 28th, he indicated that a metal frame was available and that we could have it at no additional cost. I was supposed to take the defective rails and return them to Ashley Furn Maplewood. When I tried to pick up the new frame I found out it was for Queen bed and would not work with the King bed. I called the North Branch location and the manger indicated it was mistake. Instead of correcting it, he stated there is no metal frame for the bed, head and footboard we ordered. It would have to custom order (at least two weeks) for an additional cost. He also indicated the frame we order was not high quality, which goes directly against what is quoted on the Furniture Mart website, “Our strategy has always been to provide low-cost, high-quality furniture, mattresses, and accessories with a high level of customer service in order to best serve the needs of our customers," and basically stated he would not honor the metal frame promised a day earlier.
So we have not had our new bed for 2 weeks. I have 2-3 hours on the phone to get this resolved I have made an additional trips to an Ashley Furniture store. And the only answer I received is Furniture Mart does not stand by products sold. Will not give a refund. Take what they offer because you don't have a choice, they have already received payment. All I wanted is a metal frame I could be confident would not break. My fiancée could have been seriously hurt. (P.S. the customer service manager in Souix Falls stated you have lawyers for that on Fri Nov 28th.) I do have picture of how defective the frame was, but everyone at Furniture Mart and Ashley Furniture have declined to look at. This ordeal has soured my impression of Furniture Mart and Ashley Furniture that I would like to return the mattress, box spring and frame. Used to be happy customers, our living room set is from Ashley Furniture.

I had a very positive experience at Ashley furniture and felt compelled to write a review to balance out all of the negative experiences other consumers had. I do admit some of the salespeople will drop you like a hot cake if they suspect you aren't buying there and then. My first salesperson guessed that and quickly stopped helping me and disappeared into the large showroom even though I had more questions. I ended up walking around alone, not pressured by anyone and found a couch that fit better than the $4k one I was going to get from Macy's. This sectional and ottoman cost me $1,600 with delivery. What a steal! And it is MUCH nicer looking than the expensive one I almost bought.
The lady that I found to ask questions ended up getting my sale and she was very nice and went over all of the disclaimers before having me sign. It's important to read anything before you sign, so I'm glad she took the quick minute to highlight each item on my receipt to insure that I understand their procedures and that I am getting the exact size/couch and layout I want.
2 weeks later my couch was being delivered. I received a text message about 4-5 days before delivery confirming my address and delivery date. Then 3 days before delivery I was sent another text regarding my time frame of delivery, 9:15 am-1:15 pm. I called my local store and made sure that the delivery guys would call me 10-15 minutes before they arrive so I could make it back from work to let them in. They followed my instructions to a T, sometimes this isn't always the case.
The delivery guys were friendly and setup & connected my sectional. The couch came in pristine condition, brand new with no defects. I got lucky, because I read about 50 negative reviews about damaged products at arrival. I am currently sitting on my couch... living room bed, I like to call it and I couldn't be happier with my steal of purchase. I don't expect this couch to last more than 5 years tops, but for the money I'll be on cloud nine if I get a good 3 years out of it. Don't be deterred by these bad reviews. I had a great overall experience. (I purchased the Jessa place sectional + ottoman) it's beautiful! Thanks Ashley!

This is cut and dry. Ashley Furniture in Delaware advertised a Black Friday special of 60% off the entire showroom, and after purchasing several items, my receipt indeed indicated that I received a 60% discount off of the regular prices. But, the manager admitted that the regular price is determined by taking the rock bottom sale price that Ashley will sell an item for, and then divide that by 40% to get the alleged regular price. Come on man! Just put the discount price on there instead of luring people to the store with a promise of a 60% discount across the showroom.
Well, all I can say is that in the age of the internet, it's relatively simple to find out if you're being duped or mislead, and in this case, it took me exactly 5 minutes to get my answer. If you like any of the Ashley pieces, go to some online sellers like Classy Home, Coleman's, MM, etc. and get the same stuff for the same price you'll get it for in the showroom. Save yourself the aggravation, time, and gas money. In Coleman's case, delivery and set-up is included in the fee, and I've found in most cases, their prices aren't much different than what you'll find in the store.

Super irritated with these guys. My parents were coming to town and I needed a mattress in a week. The sales associate sold me a mattress first of all saying "it's ready for pick up and you can take it with you." After I decided and was ready to pay for it, they told me they can only deliver in a week and I have to pay delivery fee of $139. I was pissed already but decided to go ahead.
One week later, day after thanksgiving, I called to confirm the delivery and they confirmed it for that day. I waited all day but it never came. So I called up customer care the next day and the rep was like - it doesn't matter even if it is delayed by a week you have to pay $139. It just doesn't make sense. Why should I pay $140 when I was not given what was promised and I was not ever ready to pay that. On top of it, the day of delivery, they never called me to say that the delivery was cancelled. I was just sitting at home wasting my day after thanksgiving. Oh ya.... and I got "disconnected" multiple times trying to reach customer care.

We purchased a Tempurpedic bed with adjustable base and spent $5000. I felt the Tempurpedic was pushed on us and we eventually gave in based on the reassurance that it was the best bed on the market. After sleeping on it for 2 weeks, I developed back pain. I am 29 years old, 105 pounds and have never had back issues! I felt like an 80 year old woman! We were informed we had to sleep on the mattress for a minimum of 30 days before exchanging. When we went in for the exchange, we had to pay $300 to restock the bed. That was annoying, but we understood and didn't argue. The bed I wanted in exchange happened to be on sale (originally $2400, on sale for $1999). They said we didn't qualify for the sale price!
As it is, you don't get the price difference back in cash, it has to be a store credit. Fine, again, we can live with that as annoying as it was. The $5000 was already spent, yet they refused to honor the sale price. They weren't out any money as we knew we weren't getting it back in cash, it had to go as a store credit. Then they tried to charge us for a second delivery fee (we live 2 min down the road). If we would have been first time customers off the street we would have been given the sale price. How they can treat their customers like this? This is disgusting. I guess once they have your money, they control you and screw you over and there is nothing you can do. Buyer beware. Do not go here if you are in the market for a new mattress. We were uninformed and rushed into a very expensive mistake.

I bought furniture back on November 1st from the Burbank, CA store. My delivery date was the 16th. My items were delivered, and set up, but as I was inspecting the furniture, the delivery team left before I could reject the items for poor quality. I immediately called the store and asked them to send the delivery team back to pick up the items. They said they would contact their dispatch and see if they could reroute delivery, but emphasized that I should have rejected it while they were on-site. The store called back a short time later and said they would not be able to reroute them today and would call me back with a date and time they would be able to come pick up the items. I waited the rest of the day with no word from the store or warehouse dispatch contacting me.
Yesterday, Monday the 16th, I continued to contact the store throughout the day being assured that a manager would reach out. Finally, in the early evening I spoke with the Manager on-duty Diane. Diane said, in no uncertain terms, they would not be able to return my items or refund my purchase. She said this store does not offer refunds. I told her, "no one said this at the time of our purchase" (my Mother and Sister were witness). If we had known they do not accept returns, we would not have purchased from them. I told her "your Sales Associate Nelly did not inform us of this rule." Diane said she would need to speak with Nelly the next day and would call me back.
After that conversation, I decided to call my Synchrony Visa I had opened just for my Ashley purchase and have them reverse charges. I was able to successfully close the account prior to the charges going through. I called the store back and spoke with Ryan (Floor Supervisor), because Diane was on lunch and explained that I had canceled the transaction and would not be paying for the purchase and to please have Diane call me back when she was back from lunch. Diane never called. I had to call the store again. I reached Diane and she immediately said this is now a Corporate dispute. I got the Corporate Customer Care number and called them. Unfortunately, they were closed.I reached customer care this morning and they promptly said this is a store issue and I would not be able to get help from them.
I have continued to call the store today with very little response or returned phone calls. Unfortunately, I have since found out that the charges to the card have gone through. I have asked the credit card company help. They have opened a dispute and is sending a letter to them requesting they accept and process the return. I don't know what else to do. One final note, on the back of the receipts there are several disclaimers. Nowhere does it say there are no returns. In fact, there is a claim that says they do not accept returns on close-out merchandise. Therefore, one would have to assume all other types of merchandise are returnable.

I suggest thinking twice before purchasing furniture from Ashley. Prepare yourself with poor delivery, broken items, defected items and nice speaking customer people who promise the world and deliver nothing but broken promises. I suggest looking elsewhere when purchasing furniture. Here is a quick list of reason to support my review.
Delivery: Delivery guys spoke little English which made it extremely difficult to communicate the issues with the furniture. We purchased bunk beds and dresser. Dresser was broke when delivered which they fixed by drilling a screw into it. They put together the bunk bed which had a defected support beam which was clearly defected. They wanted to put screws in the cross beams, not sure how that would have work. I now have nails sticking out of the boards. Product review....0.
Customer care: I must have contacted the care department about 12 times, on each occasion they had no clue what I was talking about and I had to go over my issues over and over and over. I finally got somewhere once I took time out of my work day to stop at the store. I requested a new support beam. They were supposed to mail this to me but instead my wife received a call from the delivery guys saying they were outside my door and we needed to come home so they could fix the bed. Funny we never schedule this plus they had the wrong parts. I finally got the part and had to go to the store to pick it up. (This is the short version of my experience with customer care.) I would exceed the recommended minimum character count if I go any further. Customer care review...0.
I will say the sales representative who sold me the furniture was quite nice and would be the only highlight of my review. Sales department review...9. Good luck to anyone who decides to purchase furniture from this company, you will need it.

I had to take the slide off myself (2 screws one of which was stripped on installation) and have a wood shop recreate the piece.
Now just 2 years later my sofa cushions are ripping at the seams. We are not hard on our furniture just daily normal use. We also had an issue with the recliner mechanism and had to jump through hoops to get a new rod and customer service acted like they were doing us a favor to replace it for free. We had to install it ourselves which was no easy task. My best advise is to stay away from Ashley, you get less than what you pay for.

He diverted the discussion to the types of leather without answering the spring question and sold us on a "top quality" top grain set. It was very soft to sit on in the store, which should have tipped us off, but we assumed that he had led us to a well constructed set because we had asked him to. Big mistake! The furniture was delivered and we found that we couldn't sit in it for more than an hour without it sagging into a painful position. I looked under it, and there were no springs at all, just some weak elastic straps and the cushions would bottom out right onto the frame! Their return policy is only an 80% refund, only for store credit, and we had to pay the return pickup. Later I then notice cracking between the cushion sectional of the sofa, cracking on the arm rest and area of peeling on the remaining back cushion. The chair back cushion has the cracking and peeling in the top center of the cushion. It also started with a permanent crease prior to the cracking and peeling of the leather. I was asked to send pictures which I did to:

They seemed concerned about my situation and told me all issues such as mine needed to be handled on retail level, they forwarding a copy of my letter directly to the Head of Customer Care of the Murfreesboro, TN HomeStore for assistance with this matter. After going back and forth with this one and that one I was finally told that my warranty had expired and they offered me 400 plus dollars. I decline and just gave up. I just had the couch, which was peeling and flaking all over the place, taking to a dump (November 1, 2014) and purchased a used leather couch from a co-worker. The picture attached was taken in 2013, prior to all the flaking and peeling. The back cover was mainly cloth at this point.

As the case with many customers, only after purchasing did I find out that my bed would not be delivered for 2 weeks. I accepted. The bed looked beautiful upon arrival + assembly and we were very happy. A few weeks after, we started feeling aches and pains on our bodies and also noticed that the bed was sinking in very badly. My boyfriend being heavier than me, I found myself rolling towards him like we were sleeping in a hammock. We tried ignoring the discomfort for months until finally I called them to tell them that I wanted to return the bed. They informed me of their no-return policy which I thought was outrageous. From here on a battle started. They sent a tech guy from an independent company a total of 3 times to inspect the bed. He said over and over to us that the bed was defective and advised us to return it. But every time I called Ashley Furniture, they continued to say "the bed is not defective" and "the report from the technician states that the bed is not defective".
We moved during this ordeal and took the bed apart. When we paid attention to the bed frame is when we realized what the problem was. The slats were a joke. This was a king size bed and the slats were very long and thin. Only 5 out of 10 had legs to support them but even the supported slats would bend between the support points. Only when I threatened them to file a complaint with the BBB, they agreed that the mattress was defective and were willing to give me a refund for it. I said no, I wanted a refund for the whole bed since the whole thing was "defective".
More accurately, it was just plain cheaply made, terrible quality. They continued to deny that the frame was defective and the case with the BBB was closed. Then, I sued them in court. As soon as they were summoned, they offered to give me a full refund minus my court fees if we settled quick. I wanted my court fees refunded as well but compromised with their offer. In mediation, they refused to pay me on the same day they would pick up the bed. Rather, I had to wait up to 1 month to be refunded. An hour later in mediation, they said up to 2 months for them to pay me back. I had no other choice but to accept and have the piece of junk out of my house. This is a bad business!!! Stay away!!!

I purchased Ashley brand furniture from a store other than Ashley Furniture in September of last year. In late August I noticed that the material on the recliner chair (that I had thought was leather, but was not) had worn off part of the arms of the chair. I contacted the store and they were no longer in business. I contacted Ashley Furniture direct and they said they could honor my warranty since it was under one year. Well, finally after about 4 weeks, a technician came and was attempting to install the material that they forwarded to me. The technician immediately noticed that the material was not the same as my chair. I contacted Ashley and they told me I had to submit photos of the chair next to the material that would show the problem and then they could order more material. I kept telling them that this is just going to happen again because it is defective material, but they wouldn't listen.
A few days later, they called telling me that they are going to replace the chair with a new one from a local Ashley store. Here's the problem now... they will not warranty the new chair!! They said the chair will be under the original warranty from the original date of purchase which is now expired. They don't care about their customers at all! It is unfair that I will have a new chair with a no warranty and I am stuck if the chair has any problems!! Do not shop at Ashley furniture. I was told that I needed to order the supports then call to have them installed. I was told that I could expect them within 7 - 10 business days. Called back 2 weeks later to find out the status, and was told that items had been backordered and the earliest that they can be sent out is Dec 8. I was told that I should have been told this when I first called. I told them that I would rather not wait that long and would like a refund or exchange. I was told that this could not be done. They did not identify themselves as being from Ashley Homestore and were not wearing any kind of identifying clothing. Frankly, had it been dark out, I would not have allowed them in my home. I asked to see the furniture before they brought it into my home. They let me up on the truck, where some furniture, unpadded, scratched and dinged was sitting and indicated that was my furniture. I did not purchase used, scratched and dented furniture. I took pictures of the damage with my cellphone and sent the truck on its way. Then I went to the store.
They indicated they could do nothing to help me because my issues were "post delivery" and that someone would call me today. At 11:15 am, I called the person whose name they gave me, asked for her, and was put on hold for 12 minutes. At that point someone else came on the line, answering the phone as if it were a brand new call. When I again asked for the person whose name I had been given, I was directed to her voice mail. My husband made a purchase on August 30th. We ordered a lift top coffee table and a sofa with a chaise. The furniture was delivered 2 weeks after purchase date. The day after the furniture was delivered, the coffee table broke!! It broke after 24 hours of having it! A spring fell off that lifts the top. I called Ashley and we set a date for a repairman to come out. The repairman does his inspection and says "We will have to order a new top for this table because the spring is pressed in by a machine. I will go ahead and put that order in."
I call Ashley a week later to get an update on this order and they said, "We have no record of this order being placed. We can't even order a new top for this table. The whole table needs to be replaced. We can have a new table delivered to you and we will take the old one." I gave her the Ok for the new table. I call a week after this phone call to get an update on THIS order. She says "We actually won't have this table in stock until NEXT YEAR." I get upset as this is getting ridiculous. So she puts me on hold to talk to her manager, comes back and says, "Actually, we do have this table in stock but it can't be delivered until November 25th."
My table broke a month and a half ago and it still has not been fixed. Also, the couch we ordered is VERY POOR QUALITY. It started to look used within the first week of having it. The fabric is coming loose and it has the "old and wrinkly" look. Couches shouldn't get worn out so quick. So I requested to return both pieces of furniture and they said no because it has already been 48 hours after purchase. You can only cancel your order within 48 hours otherwise you are stuck with their crappy furniture.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am currently talking with corporate. I am wondering how this place is still in business.

We have been trying to return a couch since 9/13, it is now 10/11 to a local Ashley's store where the the item was purchased. Due to the fact that the invoice has my name as 'sold to' and my husband's name as 'deliver to' (address is the same), the manager delayed my return request on 9/13 because he thought that we may have been in a fight and I was simply being malicious. I am not sure how to interpret that decision other than sexist, which is against the law. The person who the item was sold to has every right to return the item without enduring personal questions about their private life.
Once I explained who I was sleeping with and that we weren't in a fight on 9/27, I called on 10/3 to schedule a pick-up time. We set it up for 10/11 and no one shows. Distribution has no record of a pick-up but I have my cell phone records, which clearly shows the call being made and length of time. They have now once again promised to pick up the couch on 10/18; this will be a month after my initial request for a return/refund.
In the meantime, they have been earning interest on my money, which is financially corrupt. I have no idea when I'll ever get my money back. The drawers were not tight and would move six inches side to side when opened. I asked if I could pick the chest up from the store and they said yes, but I would still have to pay $50 for having it shipped to the store instead of my home. I asked if the chest would be delivered in a box so it would be protected when I took it home in my truck and they said yes it would. I called the store after 3 weeks and they said the chest had just came in that day.
I drove to the store the next day and was told to pull around the rear of the store to load the chest. When I got there, there was a chest sitting there with no box. It was covered in dust and the drawers were loose like the floor model. I asked if they still had that and they said no. After looking into the loading area, there was not a piece of cardboard anywhere. It didn't take much to figure out that they were trying to give me the floor model. This where it went down hill quick. I refused to take the chest and requested a refund. The manager said he would have to call the general office to get it approved and processed, but they were closed for the day.
After 6 more weeks getting the runaround, I told the manager that if a credit was not posted to my credit card in 5 days, the next call he and the general office would get would be from a lawyer. The refund was posted 4 days later. I have never had to wait for a refund to be approved anywhere. I found a much better solid wood media chest elsewhere for $150 less than Ashley's best price. REALLY??? Sure wish I would have know that BEFORE my purchase!!! Don't buy from Ashley!! That's MY recommendation.

Now the paint on the table is chipping, I placed 7 calls into customer service after the technician come out. It wasn't until I called the BBB that they called me back. Their resolve was to yet again replace the table citing that it was due to improper cleaning and placing hot objects on it. It's a kitchen table-- why wouldn't I place hot objects on it. I was not satisfied with their response of replacing again.

My mother is retired and a widow and has become frustrated to the point of requesting my assistance with this matter. I have personally made four calls in the last 3 weeks and have yet to get past the point of a direction you are going to take on this matter. I called yesterday and still have not received a call back. If you chose to ignore our repeated attempts to bring this matter to a close, we will proceed through the appropriate legal channels to make sure that some type of conclusion is brought to this matter. We will be finding all possible websites to post our displeasure with Ashley Furniture, the amount of attempts to get assistance to this matter as I promised by Shelby last week if we didn't get a response.

It came apart again only this time it was worse. They are telling me there is nothing they can do because now the warranty has expired. Basically they sent someone out to sew it up until the warranty expired. When I called them back they said although they weren't required to do so, as a courtesy they would send someone out to fix it again. The second person didn't do anything to it. He said the couch should have been replaced the first time while it was under warranty and that he was going back to the store to discuss this with them. When I didn't hear from anyone, I called the store. They told me that I would hear from someone on Wednesday. I still have not heard anything from anyone and as far as I'm concerned, they didn't honor the warranty.

I will never buy ** from this place again. Sales associates just care about that extra dollar they're making off you. 1) The sales associate never told my boyfriend and I that we had to pay the tax upfront when she bribed us to come back for a "private sale". Then when we go to buy our couch, this lady says "oh so it will be $180 today." For what? I was not giving them a penny out of pocket. The manager ended up letting us just finance it. We waited 2 weeks for our couch to arrive, it finally came today. I come home to find a HUGE scratch in the cushion, so heated. Called them, never received a phone call back. Still waiting. I'm about to send back this couch as fast as I bought it. My boyfriend asks the delivery guy if he could help just move our old couch outside, the guy says "only if you tip me". Buying a couch isn't suppose to be this stressful. I recommend people looking somewhere else.

I purchased a Revolution sofa and love seat in 07/11. Within weeks I started have problems with the leather peeling. I contacted the store and they referred me to the Premier insurance company. They told me I couldn't file a claim because peeling is not covered under the warranty. After complaining for the last three years the store reps told me that there is a recall and lots of customers have been complaining about these particular sofas. After calling they finally decided to give me a store credit of $718. I was told I can find something different and I have to get them back their damaged sofa.
I expressed my anger for the situation to their call center and was told there is nothing they can do to change it. I can either use the credit to purchase something else with $700, will probably be a portion of one piece or keep the damaged pieces. The manager of the call center was very rude and told me they don't have to do anything because the manufacturer warranty is expired. She wouldn't listen to my complain and cut me off several times during the phone conversation. I advised her that obviously there is a issue with the quality of the furniture because they are giving credits. I think it's unfair that I purchased $1700 furniture and the only options I have to fix it is either pay out of my pocket for the difference or keep the defective furniture.

I ordered an entire bedroom set from Ashley/City Furniture, and spent around $2,000 on it, plus $130 for shipping. The sales rep told me if I ordered the storage trundle, I don't need to buy a box spring for the mattress. She didn't have the storage trundle, only the trundle bed, but told me it was identical, just with drawers instead of an extra bed, and it ran the length and width of the bed. The day they delivered the set, I noticed several damages on every single piece. I sent everything back. They redelivered the following week, and again, everything was damaged. The third time, I received a dresser, the bed was damaged, but I had to keep it because we needed a bed, and the nightstand, and chest were damaged, and got sent back.
I was told someone would come out to repair the bed the next day. Nobody showed up. I called, and they told me that no appointment was set, and I would have to wait at least a week. They also damaged my hardwood floors in four different areas, by moving the bed around. I was told they would repair that as well (I'm doubtful). The trundle I had ordered was not what had been described to me... It looked nothing like the one I had seen, and was maybe a quarter of the size it was supposed to be. I had also been lied to about not needing the box spring. The three narrow slat would never be able to hold a mattress, so I sent the trundle back, along with the other pieces, and still had no bed to sleep in.
The fourth time, they sent a boxspring, but the furniture was damaged, so I sent it back. The fifth time, I received a night stand, but the chest was damaged, so I sent that back. Today was the sixth delivery, for the chest. It was damaged, I sent it back. The customer service supervisors refuse to discount anything, or even remove the delivery charge for my order. I paid full price for this garbage. Their only solution was for me to send everything back, and shop somewhere else for furniture. They have been so horrible to me, they will not do anything to fix the problem, they just continue to send me damaged pieces. BIG damages too... I don't understand how nobody notices these things before bringing it to my house! I will never ever use them again!!!

All the paperwork complete we were given a delivery date and time. The night before our merchandise was to be delivered we got an automated call at 6:55 pm. Telling us that we would not get delivery until the following day. I had scheduled to take the day off in advance so I could be there for the delivery. Now I had I take two days off of work. At a considerable cost.
Did I mention what I do for a living?? Deliver furniture and appliances. And I have been since 1996. I know all the tips and tricks that ALL delivery companies try to pull. When I finally got someone on the phone that had two brain cells, I explained to him that I had to take two days off work and how much it is going to cost me to do so. I got the song and dance. My response as should be any response when a late delivery occurs. "Do you want your payments on time? Then get my furniture to me when you said you were."
That part of the bargain was never upheld. So here I set 2 days off of work at a cost of over 750 dollars. And all I get is "Sorry"?? I know you are sorry, now apologize. Long story short. Do your research. And the best advice I can give anyone reading this is: If you know anyone like me that is in the business call them to see how deliveries are meant to be made. That way you have a leg up on what to expect. And don't be a victim.

So when It came time to upgrade our furniture I chose to go back to Ashley thinking I would get the same quality product. I was sadly mistaken. I went there in search for microfiber sofa and recliner similar to what I had in the past, because it withstood dog hair from poking through the fabric. I purchased the Eli sofa recliner and 2 matching recliners. Within 3 weeks the fabric began to show signs of wear on the corners of the recliner. During week 6, while my dog was chewing on a chew toy, I noticed a small tear in the fabric of the sofa. The rough end of the chew toy had torn the fabric in three different places. So I pulled out the protection plan I paid extra for to find it would not cover the damages made by the dog's toy. I then purchased a sofa cover to protect the sofa from more damages. However as days went on, the tears continued to split even under the protection of the cover.
I have had the couch less than 6 months, the batting underneath the paper thin microfiber material began to loosen exposing the foam cushion and the sofa is more or less ruined. I had to purchase a new couch last week, because the other became a chore to maintain. Needless to say I didn't go to Ashley furniture homestore!

I made the purchase and less than a year had passed before I needed to schedule a repair for our new furniture. Good thing I was gullible enough to purchase the protection plan to the tune of about 500 dollars. Well after the technician came out and took the time to explain the "craftsmanship" behind the fine products they sell at Ashley. The popping sound our 6 month old couch was making became worse. So I placed a call to the Company responsible for handling claims thru our protection plan. They sent someone out who stated that the popping was caused by a lack of lubricant on the springs of our couch and it was an easy fix. He also stated that the already completely compressed and flattened sofa cushions were the only grade of foam avail. "Maybe I could find an upholstery shop to beef up the cushions." However, he was gracious enough to order us a replacement set of cushions.

Let me help anyone out that is thinking of purchasing furniture from Ashley Furniture. First and foremost, don't. Secondly, if you absolutely think you must, make sure that your sales associate doesn't screw you like ours did. We purchased a couch, love seat and recliner from them retailing $2300. Paid $279 "insurance" through Montage Protection Plan. The couch is one and a half years old and the frame supporting the back of the couch broke. We hardly ever even sit on our couch. Filed a claim with what they call "insurance" company, aka Montage Protection. They decided they wanted to replace our couch instead of pay for the piece of wood that would fix it, but conveniently for them, our couch has been discontinued since we bought it in Dec 2012. Now they are not wiling to replace our set so we are forced to buy something that does not match our other furniture that isn't even 2 years old.
First mistake, our sales associate did not offer us insurance on our full set of furniture which is very misleading because that is how we were sold the furniture. Our associate also did not explain to us that there were even different kinds of insurance such as single item, set, upholstery, etc. (I found this out later when I called insurance company and I was informed that they would not replace the set because we only purchased insurance on the couch and not the love seat and chair). We were made to believe we were purchasing insurance on our set as his way of selling it to us was me asking what it covered and him stating, "If you drove away today, didn't tie it down good and all three pieces fell out on the highway and broke, we would replace all of it!" Because after all, what idiot would pay insurance amounting to 40% of the total cost of one single item?!!?
But in our situation, we have two choices according to the company, both of which are crappy and do not leave a customer satisfied by ANY means. Our choices are: 1) to accept a cash settlement of $300 (basically the insurance money we paid for nothing) and keep our broken couch or 2) accept store credit in the amount of the couch ($764) and buy a new couch that doesn't match our remaining set. Neither of these sound like very good customer service to me considering that the furniture is not even two years old. I would just like to have matching furniture that I worked so hard to be able to afford and for you to stand by your product.
My advice to every customer that purchases furniture from Ashley's is to make sure you know what you are buying and that the "insurance" they sell is a joke and the furniture they make is not as quality as they exclaim. If you cannot make furniture that will last longer than 2 years, you shouldn't be in the furniture making business.

Purchased Ashley furniture Electric, full grain leather love-seat. My husband requested to see only full grain leather electric love-seats. He did not want any bonded leather product. We were assured by both salesmen that only a couple of love-seats were indeed full grain leather of which we had purchased one of them. In less than a year the head rest area of chair rapidly started peeling. The peeling material is stretchy and so thin it rolls up like a scroll shape. Took pictures and faxed to warranty service. Now being told to contact franchise direct because it is more of a quality and material issue, I will. Would like to know if they really carry full grain leather!

They had a sale on demo leather couch & love seat, 3 coffee and end tables. Was a good deal but when my wife called to get the "used chair and chaise" added on, the price went up to $4400 from $2400. We pulled the coffee and end tables out and added wrought iron of same quality. Basically they were shafting us on the chair to cover their loss on the couch. $1400 for a small leather chair, same as couch? LUFKIN TEXAS, THEY'RE ON CRACK as well as serious liars. They continually tell you what seriously premium products they have. Has anyone on here seen more than a one or 2 star rating? Quality is like service... crap, just read on. They also will pull your credit 3rd party without disclosure. Then will lie through their teeth about it. Day before they wrongfully pulled my credit, I received a Marriott 24k card and these high interest punks give me $5k. Beware of Lufkin store, for sure my second major problem with them. Never again.

We have placed a furniture order on June 28, 2014 for a new bedroom set for my daughter. To date, we have had 3 deliveries of damaged furniture. Customer Service has been contacted multiple times and the first time, they were nice but after the first time, nothing but RUDE. Our salesman in the Cherry Hill Store was great but that will no longer be enough to make me ever step foot, let alone order another piece of furniture from Ashley again. We are supposed to have a 4th delivery this Wednesday but I have no faith it will be undamaged. We were even offered to keep the damaged furniture for a small amount of $ off. It's like this is routine for them. My husband and I have shopped at Ashley for over 10 years and almost every room in our home is done by them but NEVER AGAIN. This has been the WORST experience in my life and going on since June 28, 2014. It is now August 16, 2014 and still not right and nobody is making good of situation.

We order a living room couch and chair set, the couch and chair are cheaply (it was a floor mold that was on cleanse) made which we we didn't notice when we took them home. We also order a table and chairs for the dining room which would be delivered in about two weeks. When it was delivered the table was damaged and was getting reordered from warehouse then we didn't get the arm chair that goes to the table. We want everybody not to order or buy from Ashley or any store that carries from them. You will be very disappointed.

Me and my husband ordered 3 full bedroom sets and two full living room sets. Upon delivery one of the delivery/set up guys damaged one of our end tables. I sat there and watched him do it and then continue to try and hid it. Just as they were about to leave and have me sign for the delivery and set up slip. I insisted on checking every piece of furniture with the main guy there and showed them the damaged piece. Was told that they would just have a new top for our end tabled shipped to our house and he explained to me how to remove the legs and put them on the new top and even stated we would the have an extra top if something were to happen to the other table.
After a month and no new top, I called the location in Gurnee, IL location and spoke to the manager and was told the same thing - they would order and ship a new top. I proceeded to wait another couple of weeks and called again and was told that the original manager I spoke to was no longer there and that the new manager would look in to it. All they said they could do was to exchange the entire table which we are using but have been able to hide the damage for now. I told them I want was I was promised from the beginning from both the delivery crew and the manager. I also have found out that the receipt that I signed they have added additional notes to after the fact and are now trying to say all along it was supposed to be exchanged.
I contacted corporate because I was told that the furniture123 location was corporately owned and now corporate is saying I have to work it out with the store that they have no say. They need to stand behind their employees even if the employee was wrong. I will never buy Ashley Furniture from any store ever again and I am telling all of my friends that recently have bought a house to stay far far away and to not be fooled by the deals and nice smiles in the store because they will stick it to you somehow.

Thirteen months ago, we purchased two sofas from Ashley's. The quality of the material is extremely poor. Our children are all in college, it's just my wife and I at home. The color is peeling away from the material. I called to complain, they said sorry, it's thirty days out of warranty. I ask if there was anything they could do? They said if I purchased the material, they would send a technician to replace it. Well it's been nearly ninety days and they have made two appointments. The first appointment, no one called or showed up. The second appointment, they called and canceled. When I call to get answers, all I get is the runaround. Yesterday, I noticed the material was starting to split. My wife is embarrassed and will not invite family or friends over to visit.

I have a 3-year sofa that the material is splitting and Ashley will not stand behind the repair. I purchased the protection plan and it doesn't cover the leather cracking. I'll never purchase from this company again. Cheap products.

We just moved into our new house and my wife gave our old sofa and loveseat to our son. So she went to Ashley and picked out a sofa and loveseat, dining table and a desk and chair for my office. We were told it would take 3 months to get our furniture. I didn't understand why it would take so long but we said ok. When it arrived I understood. First of all the stuff is made in China, so that's probably why it takes so long. If I had known that I would not have bought it. Second it’s the crappiest stuff I have ever seen. There is no kind of cushion on the couches. Tried to sleep on one - like sleeping on a board. The dining table chairs cushions flatten out when you sit down. No support whatsoever. The screw hole plugs keep falling out. The desk came broken and the chair broke after a couple of weeks.
Called a tech out to fix the table chairs and look at the desk chair. He said the cushions on dining chairs are supposed to be like that and he would have to order part for desk chair. The part came in a week later but they couldn't get out there for a couple of weeks, but I could fix it myself if I wanted to. I have never in my life more cheap and crappy furniture than from Ashley. And this stuff wasn't cheap either. DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE. IT’S OVERPRICED CHEAP CRAP FROM CHINA!

Have you ever felt discriminated by a salesman or anybody who thought that he was better than you because you are a woman? How about being treated like a second class citizen because you are not **? Well, this is how Karry, the owner and store manager of Ashley's Furniture Calgary Heritage HomeStore treated me this afternoon! My husband and I decided to buy a sectional for our basement. We are quite excited about this purchase as we are normally savers and not spenders. We previously had pleasant dealings with Ashley's three years ago and were hoping for a repeat experience.
The day went on smoothly as we perused and zeroed in on the sectional we wanted to purchase. As they were having a storewide sale that day, we asked if we could get a bigger discount than the one that was advertised. Our salesman informed us that he unfortunately couldn't give us lower prices. He, however, could ask his manager if he could do something for us.
Karry, Ashley's Calgary Heritage Homestore manager, came in already curt with the salesman - continually interrupting him and questioning his price calculation. He gave us a lower price and argued that is so much more than the 25% off that was advertised. Karry then proceeded to interrupt me as I was questioning his math on the percentage off. Karry asked my husband, "CAN YOUR WIFE UNDERSTAND THIS?" I informed him that I have a master's degree. I can obviously understand basic math.
This is very offensive! Why did he not talk to me directly? Does he prefer to deal with his kind? Does he think that I cannot understand him because I am a woman or because I am not ** like my husband? I told my husband that we are going home and not purchasing anything from him. Karry felt the need to shout at me and my family of how he was so happy to have met us. I said, I unfortunately cannot say the same to him. My husband, son and I stood up from the couch and walked towards the store doors. Karry felt the need to follow us and shout at me again saying a person with a masters should be able to understand basic math! I asked him what his name was, he said he is Karry, he is the store manager and he owns the store and then told me to never visit his store again!
After you have read this, you might think I am angry and you are right! I am angry! I am angry that someone felt that need to make me feel ashamed of my gender, ashamed of my color and made me feel simple. Karry's attitude infuriates me. I do not feel that it should be tolerated in any circumstance. I, of course, do not plan to go back to his store again; and I urge others to take a stand against any and all kinds of discrimination. Please boycott Ashley's Furniture.

We purchased a faux leather couch & loveseat from another furniture store that sells Ashley furniture a couple of years ago. We have no pets or children & do not rough house our furniture. We noticed that the material is breaking down (cracking & peeling). Have contacted the store where purchased as well as the head office. We were told they do not guarantee material after 1 yr. This is absurd!!! WE expected our furniture to last more than a year!
Their guarantee is worthless! So very disappointed with this co. Seems like they are just dragging their feet on this. Have not gotten any feedback yet. Have reported this 2 mo. ago. Seems like they do not care about their customers. I will not be buying in the future from them or recommending them to anyone!!

When my first furniture delivery arrived (May 2014), the dresser and media console were damaged. It took three more attempts to receive a dresser that was satisfactory (not warped). That's five days of waiting on deliveries, counting the service technician who came to investigate the extremely warped dresser. The quality control is ridiculous. And they owe me for all the time I've wasted on them!

I spent almost $2,000 on a sofa and two recliners. When we got home with them, we were disappointed to see the quality of the furniture, cheap thin cork board. Nevertheless, the furniture was pretty. Within a couple month, had issues with the back of one of the recliners breaking (due to the poor quality). The left arm was also wiggling and the second identical recliner's cushion had "went out". We made numerous calls to the store in Burlington, WA (where we purchased the furniture from) only to be told to call this 800 number to call in a warranty request. Apparently these guys are out of Texas and have a reputation for not returning calls.
When we couldn't get a call back or answers on the furniture getting repaired, we finally drove down to Burlington (70 miles away) to get mad at management. They reassured me that they would call and email customer care. Customer Care finally called us back 3 days later and scheduled a technician to come out on the 4th of July (very convenient huh?). Two week later, he showed up to look at the furniture and told us he has to order parts and would reschedule another appointment to come back. It is August 8th now and I have not heard a word from Ashley's customer care department. I called and waiting on hold for 20 minutes, only to find out that nothing had been done and they were not sure if they were able to repair the first recliner because it was a floor model. She went ahead and ordered the parts for the second recliner and "they should be SHIPPED in 2-3 weeks!" When I receive the parts in the mail, I can call them back to schedule another technician.
WHY DO I HAVE TO DO THEIR JOB FOR THEM?? Why was my work order just sitting for 5 weeks?? I will never return to Ashley's Furniture ever again, and I have made sure to tell all my family, friends, and co-workers about this horrible experience. At this point, I am still waiting to talk to management in Burlington WA, to ask about the extended warranty that I bought... I am pretty sure I will have to drive back down there again...

About 3 years ago, I spent over $6,000.00 on furniture for my new home. I always trusted Ashley Furniture as my source of home furnishing. Of the items purchased, I bought a 5-piece leather sectional for my living room! Within a year and a half, I started noticing the color on the seats was diminishing and becoming discolored. I called the service department requesting service because the salesperson promised that anything wrong would be fixed.
Unfortunately, the customer service representative told me that peeling and discoloring was not covered on the warranty. During the same year, I purchased a replacement arm rest because it completely peeled off. Now the same problem is occurring to one of the recliners (the leather is peeling off). Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed because after purchasing an item that I expected to last many years, now I have no other option than to buy another set or get them repaired.
