We called to place our order, no one answered. We then came in, the ** manager do not care about the customers. They do not care. The young lady was outside socializing and not taking orders. No one was in the restaurant, I don't see why the was not answering the phone. If you running a business make sure the people on duty care about making money and serving customers.

Went in about 9:40pm on November 20, 2021. Waitress told us they weren't serving anyone else tonight. Waffle House is open 24 hours a day. Claimed they didn't have enough employees. There were 3 people working the grill and 3 waitresses and only about 7 people in there. She told us to go the the Forest location and they would serve us. We went to Forest and they had 3 people working there. Smiled and welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was Ash and she took good care of us. Our meal was cooked well and very quick.
I told them about Timberlake location and was told they have done that a lot in recent months. If they don't want to work then don't let someone who really wants a job be hired. Timberlake location is less than 3 minutes from our home. Forest is across town but I will certainly drive a little further to be treated like they want to serve you. Thank you to Ash and the other 2 workers. We will be back to see you. To Timberlake we won't be back to eat there. I hope the district manager sees this and does something about it. What they did was awful and every one of those 6 people there should be fired.

I asked them if they use any type of butter products to cook the eggs and hash browns because I am allergic to dairy. They told me that they used oil and I have been sick all day. Thank you very much. Seems like they just wanted me to spend money but was not concerned about me or my health. I will never go back.

Me and my wife stopped in to have breakfast this morning and we were sieved menu’s that had not been wiped down and the table had not been wipe either. Where they sat us was only about 3ft from other customers. My coffee was served in a cup that had fresh lipstick on the rim. They are not wiping down the condiments after people use them and then they hand them to others to use. My food came to me wrong and they did not want make it right so I did not eat. All of that and we are sitting there and a few roaches come out from under the stove and one of the workers started stepping on them to kill them. All of this in one visit. I would really be surprised if there isn’t COVID going around in there. Lots of people not wearing masks when they come in. Terrible place to be.

Earlier today I came in and got a drink and it tasted really Weird so I asked an employee. I believe it was a new girl to get me another drink and she did and that one tasted a lot better than the first one.

We were able to sit right away. Eventually, someone came to our table and took our drink order. She returned w/our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We were not given a menu and Waffle House is not one of our regular stops. We had never been to this Waffle House (or any other in over 10 years). We asked for a menu and as she rolled her eyes she walked away and brought us one menu to share (we were sitting across from each other) and when she returned (a minute later) she asked if we were ready to order. I told her I had not had a chance to look at the menu. She left and went off whispering to the other 4 people standing around. My husband and I decided we could have been inconveniencing the poor girl from just sitting around and doing nothing, so we left. I asked if I needed to pay for the drinks we have not drank from and another person came to us to ask what is wrong. I explained and left.

We stopped at the Waffle House 936, 53 Travelers Rest Road, Jasper, GA; Ticket #** November 14th at 3:12; User & Sales: Cashier; to get something to eat. We have always loved eating at the WH by our home and thank goodness this isn't the one that we have to use all the time. There was another man and woman eating there too.
A guy came out from behind the counter and started dusting the vents in the ceiling. First the dust mop was filthy and big hunks of dirt were dropping everywhere before he even got it to the ceiling. He started behind the counter with dirt dropping on top of it. When he started to come back over top of us, my husband told him to stop and go away! His response (which was true) was that, "I'm just doing what I was told to do." He went back to the manager and told them and not anytime before we left did anyone wipe off the table and counter. As the manager walked by us, all we got was a dirt look. We paid our bill and left. Nasty - Nasty. After coming home I went to the WH website and reported what happened thinking that I would get some kind of response, but never heard anything. I guess it wasn't that important to them.

I pulled in a 7pm and had a great dinner, next morning at 330am, I came in to eat a hearty breakfast and was told it was take out only. Had to skip breakfast because I could not eat in my vehicle in inclement weather. What is the difference between eating in at one time and can’t at other times? If this is Waffle House policy, I’ll look for another choice of 24 hr restaurant to stop at from now on.

Marcella was my waitress this morning. She was amazing! She was friendly attentive, and tried to suggestive sell almost every option on our menu item. From making our waffle to blueberry or chocolate chip or adding cheese and ham to my eggs. Even asking about raisin bread instead of toast or a biscuit. And she switched it up with each person in our group. We really enjoyed it.

When we entered we was told we could set at a high top or if we waited a minute she would clean a low top for us. We choose to wait. It was not busy at all. The girl took 15 min. to get the dishes off of the table and then went over and started washing them. We walked over towards the table and the lady said, "You can’t set until she wipes it off." I understand about COVID, I am someone who wears their mask. I have auto immune induced lung disease. However it shouldn’t take 15 min. to clear a table and why not wipe it and sanitize it instead of going and washing dishes for another 15 min. Then when someone says something, your co-worker starts being rude.
I get it if they have a certain way they have to do things but when the place is dead, there is no reason you can’t be nice and say, "I am sorry, it’s taking so long but I have to clean table off, wash dishes then wipe table." Their rudeness is why we left and didn’t eat. We have always had very good experience with the Waffle House. It’s actually one of our favorite places but if today is what service we will get when we visit I don’t know that it will continue to be one of our first choices. This was at the Waffle House in Lexington Va.

I ordered hash browns with two toppings---($4.00)Coffee---($2.00)
From the value menu Double Angus Burger--($2.00)
Total ($8.00) plus tax
My bill was $11.66. I complained to the waitress and was kept waiting for a while. Complained to another employee and told I would have to wait for the manager. The manager ignored me and kept cooking for quite a while. Finally she came over and told me that the ticket was correct and indicated the price on the menu for a regular Angus Burger. I told her that I ordered the Double Angus Burger from the Value Menue at $2.00. The regular menu only shows a Angus burger and does not show a Angus double burger. She said would have to pay what was on the ticket. I told her I would not. She called the police. The Augusta Police and the County Police arrived. I was told that I would have to pay the ticket then complain to corporate.
A real restaurant would have handled this in a civilized manner. They would have reduced the charges. I will never go to another Waffle House. For the rest of my life I will campaign against Waffle House. I probably should have let the police arrest me. That would have been good publicity for Waffle House. I am suffering from emotional distress, depression and humiliation due to police being called for a matter of a couple of dollars. Especially since it was their fault.

I love Waffle House. I’ve eaten here for years. Opelika Alabama Waffle House is the worst one I’ve been in for sure. Every other Waffle House I’ve ever been in they act like they’ve known you for years. I’ve been here for 40 minutes and I always wait to be seated. It’s rude to just sit down somewhere. I finally had to just sit down, and that was 20 minutes ago. Not a single worker here has even remotely acknowledged the fact that I’m here even though they have all looked at me multiple times. I’m not even sitting at a table. I’m sitting at the bar stools. I’m writing this as they continue to walk by me like I don’t even exist. I’m assuming it’s because I’m the only ** person that has been in here since I got here. Every other person that has walked in has gotten taken care of immediately, and is eating happily. This is sad and disappointing. I’ll never return to this Waffle House again, and am quite annoyed about the whole thing.

When my wife and I are on the road or in a different state we eat at Waffle House and never had a problem. We were in Mississippi and when I went to pay my bill the cashier told me I get a military discount because I'm a Vet. I was surprised. And thanked them. When I got back to Maryland and went to my Waffle House and asked them about the discount they told me, "Yes it's our policy." But when I went into store 2172 I asked the waitress about the discount and she told me that they don't do it. I told her that, "Your other stores do" but the manager here does not and said that the company does not give a discount to Vets. Does this guy make up his own policy and said the heck with the company. How does this make the other stores look?

I am so aggravated with the Waffle House in Fallston MD. First of all, we love to order here. But lately we have not been. I have had so many different issues but the main one is that they do not answer the phone - morning, noon or late night, they just do not answer. I work evenings and don’t get home until 11-12 at night so I love to stop and get Waffle House on my way home. Most recently I tried calling when I was about 15 min away and no answer, it just rang and rang. So I continued to call and call the whole way there. I stopped across the street at the Royal Farms for gas and look over and there isn’t one car in the parking lot - originally I thought they were busy so that’s why they weren’t answering - nope not one customer. I see 2 employees sitting outside smoking - meanwhile I’m still trying to call.
Finally I make my way over. I walk in while the employees are still outside and stand at the counter for maybe a minute before they came in. I guess they had to finish smoking. Finally I place my order. I asked how come no one was answering the phone and they said it never rang. So I called again while standing there - it rang! Anyway so I place my order - I look to my right and see the cook get up from the table - he was sleeping at the table with his jacket over his head! I didn’t even noticed him there until he got up!! So he was there the whole time while the phone was ringing and everyone else was outside! Never got up to answer the call. At this point I’m so mad but I get the food anyway bc I really do love the food and I was starving.
Fast forward a few weeks bc after that experience I didn’t order for a while when I would normally order 2-3 times a week, I call on a Sunday early afternoon and again no one answers but I decided to try to call one more time before going there and someone answers - Fallston Waffle House - I said, "Yes I would like to place a to go order.." She says, "We’re not taking any orders over the phone, you will have to come in." Ok I get it - they’re busy. But if you can answer the phone why can’t you just take my to go order? Isn’t that the same thing as me coming in and telling you the order? This really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I am totally over this place. Not to mention I have had several other problems with this location.
One day I was calling and calling and finally went over there and the manager was there and I told him no one was answering and he looks at the phone and it’s off the hook! Also they have several different cooks which I understand but they all cook differently too, the food is never consistent - if you can’t cook an over easy or over med egg you prob shouldn’t work at a place cooking breakfast. Our order is always the same - bacon egg and cheese, Texas melt sandwich with either an over easy or over medium egg - 9/10 we get the egg and the yolk is fully cooked - the point is to have the yolk runny when you bite into the sandwich - if I wanted a cooked yolk I would just get the sandwich with a scrambled egg!
Can’t tell you how many times we have to have it remade. It’s very disheartening - I love it there but something needs to change in order for me to continue ordering from there. I have also emailed several times and never get a response. Not very good customer service. Waffle House needs to work on their consistency and also their policies and procedures - I get it - you're busy.. Most places are - so you would rather lose a customer than take an order over the phone? Makes no sense at all.

He actually went outside to my car and ask my husband what he did with the receipt. When he came back in he was laughing. "I had it in my apererin the whole time." No apologies no nothing. Wouldn't that be suspicious to even the manager of the freaking store but that's neither here there, that is not the major point of this reviews.
Secondly I do not understand why I am being charged a $1.90 to do a carryout order. I really have a big issue with this and at this time I will no longer be going back to Waffle House because that is just not right especially I'm call for over an hour with no answers and when I go in and then I get my food to go and because the place is packed and there's nowhere to sit and I don't want to be waiting around 30 minutes in order to even be seated so I instead I have to pay you a dollar and $0.90 to take it out your building. That is unacceptable. That is the stupidest crap I've ever heard in my life and then on top of that your staff is crap.
This place to Walmart off Pleasant Run and 35 should not even be open. It's nasty and I just do not like the service or the people inside this particular location and then you charge me $1.90 to take my food home with me because your establishments only fit 20 to 25 people at one time. That's not fair to your customers so you may not care and that's fine but I did need to get this off my chest and I will no longer be visiting any of your establishments. We both order all stars and asked for it to come out altogether, we also asked for warm syrup. After 40 minutes our waffles came out dark as hell when we ask to recook them she gave attitude and rolled her eyes. The eggs came out under cooked and toast was cold, but our hashbrowns were fine.
We asked to cook the eggs a little more. At this point you can see she was annoyed. Finally the waffles came out perfect with butter, had to ask for the syrup but she never heated it up. The bacon was burnt and at this point we just said forget it. We told her we were leaving and refuse to pay for the bad food and horrible service. The manager who went by the boss refused to give us her name and threaten to call the cops if we didn't pay. At this we just left. That place is the worst of the worst. Please do something about this.

Called back and Walt said they dropped the ball, but a gift card would be coming. I said I didn't want a gift card and he promised refund cash/check. Had to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau and awaiting a reply. Bad food, jerked around and lied to by CEO -- avoid Waffle Houses at all cost! I spent $31.75 for nothing!

Why so cold? This reduces the enjoyment of the meal at 8:15 a.m. The temperature in the customers dining area was 64 degrees. When I asked the server if there was something that could be done about the temperature she replied, “the thermostat is in the commissary”. I assumed she meant storeroom. Seems like the thermostat should be in the area of the customer. When we left the temperature had dropped to 62 degrees.
The temperature problem seems to be a common denominator in the Waffle Houses that I have visited over the last few years. I can understand that you don't want it so comfortable that everybody wants to stay, but it seems also that running an air conditioner in summer to maintain 62 to 64 degrees is costing you a lot of money. Your attention to this situation would be greatly appreciated. Service and food were excellent but the atmosphere needed attention. The store in question was the one located at Bells Ferry Road and Highway 92 Acworth Georgia. Again thank you for considering this problem.

We visited the new Waffle House in Albany, Georgia and Ledo Road. The store was very clean but considering it has been open for only a few months it should have been. We were appropriately greeted as we entered and a waitress immediately came to our table when we were seated. She was friendly and checked on us regularly but was too often to give us time to talk at the table. Our food was fast and tasted great.
When we were finished with our meal I asked the waitress to come back with the manager. I could see she was wary but she quickly did so. We just wanted to share our positive experience with the manager and point out our great service. We find that folks are quick to complain but slow to praise and since we had a few minutes decided to share our experience. The manager was thankful. We learned he was in college and we were impressed that he could hold a managerial position while going to college and that Waffle House had the wisdom to give a young kid, still in college, the opportunity to run one of their stores. I would definitely recommend this Waffle House location to a friend.

The floor was nasty. Water close to the counter that was left on the floor. I told the waitress and she just put a sign out. I also noticed that the floor behind the counter was as nasty as could be, greased to the max. Waitresses looked so dirty and looked like they crawled out of bed. One customer walked in and then left after she seen how nasty it was. Someone needs to clean up. I am sure it wouldn't pass inspection if a inspector came out to inspect.

After reading some of those reviews... I am hesitant to make my remarks. In complete fairness to Store #1474 in Webb City Missouri I do NOT have a complaint about their service. I do NOT have a complaint about the food. I do NOT have a complaint about the food preparation. I do NOT have a complaint about the cleanliness of cooking area. I do NOT have a complaint about the cleanliness of the building. I do NOT have a complaint about the cleanliness of the seating area. I do NOT have a complaint about the friendliness of the staff... However when we visited at about 6:15PM CDT today the music was so unbearably loud the waitress could not hear us place our order... there was no way that my wife and I could visit. We asked for them to turn it down. They contended that in so many words it was 'piped-in'. I am quite reluctant to believe that...
We are not infrequent patrons to this store. We closer to the Joplin store... but the smoking was much worse in Joplin. I understand that both are non-smoking... that is a good thing. However, I have been in #1474 when the music was not loud. I am 77 years old. My wife 74. Each of us have very good hearing. We both work five/six days a week… self-employed. Quite frankly I have done tax returns for 52 years. We work together. We are dealing with extended returns... due 10/17/16. I am not a 'kitchen-table' preparer. Over these years I have been responsible for the preparation of over 243,000 federal and state returns. Did not do them all but was responsible for the work.
I have had a long hard day and still more work to do tonight. When we went to #1474 I stated to wife that I needed a break more than I needed something to eat... I did not expect to find a loud stressful atmosphere... compounding that by their refusal to turn it down. I know for blame sure that they could unplug it. There was NO customer in the place that had money in the machine. It had to be an employee or manager that had feed the machine. I told the waitress that I would vote with my feet. There was a eatery that kept the dining room COLD for the coos' comfort... when the waitresses tips diminished they brought pressure on the manager and the thermostat began to favor the patrons. I hate to take my anger out on waitresses. They barely make a living wage as is. I guess that I will just vote with my feet.

We were the only customers at 6 PM and 5 min later another couple came in. The other couple got their food first and we waited. I received my cheese steak wrap and it was so cold the cheese wasn't even melted and the meat was dry and burnt, when I complained it was put back on the grill and the outside of the wrap was burnt. I refused it. The cheese steak sandwich my friend ate was in the same condition but she ate it. And when we got home she got very sick. My sister got a burnt cheeseburger that was cold also. I have visited more than 20 of them in the past few months, and I'm seeing the same thing happening in every one I visit... The cooks handle raw meats such as bloody steaks, bacon and egg drippings, then wipe their hands on their apron and proceed to grabbing bread out of the toaster, or picking waffles out of the waffle iron... I would certainly think that the health department knows about this, since it has happened in every one I've visited... I don't know why they are allowed to stay open. Are the health department investigators getting paid off? I challenge anyone to go into one, have a coffee, and observe for themselves...

Next thing I know on the fourth of July my phone gets blown up with text from the lady I commented about. I been talking about her and it needs to stop. Ok... I thought about it awhile and I confronted the waitress about her gossip. Later another employee told me she had been telling everyone I threatened her. Not true. tried to explain to her that gossip and teasing, bullying at a place like that needs to stop. How many people have gone postal over less? I do not want to be enjoying my eggs and get a bullet because of her gossip. I have seen many regular customers lately get ran off over stupid gossip and harassment. A local lawyer, a man and wife that has a heavy equipment business, several people from different walks of life. There is, I have found a lot of regular customers gone.
Never coming back. Can a business like yours pick and chose who you want for customers? Not if you want to make money. I was banned from there accused of making threats I did not make. The waitress is a gossip and she lies. Now my good name is tarnished. And you lost about $20-$40 dollars a day from me. And I came very often. Sad. The "owners" believe a lie over a long time customer. I do not think the owners=The Odoms need the franchise anymore. You need to find new owners... And have them drop the criminal trespass held at the police dept. It is a unfair thing to hold over someones head with no recourse. I may seek a court decision on this, maybe a lawsuit will open Mr. ** eyes. And I pray every day that the gossip will not cause an incident. We read and hear about such things every day.
I have many friends at Waffle House. I do not want to read about something awful happening there. I could not bear it. They do not pay the employees very well there. I hear they cheat them often. I gave one employee insulin because he could not afford it. Sad. Do I sound like a person that would harm anyone there? I made a vow years ago to never hurt another living thing. As I continued to observe her, I saw her place my bread to my order on a very dirty surface that had remnants of food pieces along with a filthy dish towel laying next to my sandwich bread. By this time she was done with three other orders of hamburgers with hash browns and told the waiter to pick up. The worst Waffle House 940. Old Hickory Rd, TN, 37211. I went to purchase breakfast for my wife and myself this morning (8.10.14). I usually try not to get upset there because I know it's really bottom level service and hygiene practices, but this morning took the cake. I went in to a moderate am out of other customers, no lines and a few empty seats. One waitress was washing what looked like dishes or something. I sat at the counter to order my to-go plates when water shot across the counter into my face bouncing from the pile of dirty dishes. The waitress made no apologies so I grabbed a couple of napkins and wiped my half drenched face off. OK, no problem. I thought knowing manners isn't necessarily a part of the service here. I made my order with the same waitress and then proceeded to wait for my order to be ready. I started playing one of the games on my phone to pass the time. 25 minutes later, I'm looking at my to-go containers sitting on the side of the kitchen. OK, looks like I'm almost ready, not the case. I sat and watched a couple of people get served while I watched my food get cold. One waitress seeing me getting frustrated seemed to start to attend to my food.
By this time, the original waitress decided it was now time to complete my order by starting to make the waffles. This is 30 something minutes in, plus my food just sitting open. I then watched and waited cold waffles as the machine was through cooking them and they sat in the machine unattended. By this time, there were half the amount people as most had been served and left. The waitress whom I watched handle cash, wash dishes and wiped the counter without a hand wash sink her fingers into one of the waffles, I guess to feel the temperature as it was sitting for a while in the waffle maker. She then proceeds to hold my waffle full hand to place it in the container... There was another waitress who handled the second waffle who had enough sense to use a utensil. To top it off, the waffle was not a full one, a 3/4 waffle. Cold food, nasty hygiene. I have been to this location before and it always seems to be the same.. No more Waffle House dollars from my pocket, period. I ended up leaving the waffle on the counter feeling so disgusted with the hygiene and service.

When I called her attention to the fact that they were plain, I ask that she just take them off my bill. She informed me that my friend had gotten the mushrooms and someone was going to pay for them. I told her that she had gotten the order wrong. Things went downhill from there. Will never go to University and Jordan Lane Waffle House again. Huntsville, AL.

Or at least get you the back wages you are owed for when you were a server if you spent more than 20% of your time doing side work, that includes dishes, cashiering, menu test, floors, windows, bathrooms, the additional cleaning list, the cnt cleaning list, dusting the ceilings, cleaning the HVAC, vents, and so on. BTW, it was the employer's responsibility to keep track of how much time you spent on non-tip generating work. That time spent should have been paid at minimum wage and can go back up to 3 years. I started working there 6 months ago and said enough of this and called him after extreme abuse of me, my labor, and my co-wokers.

I worked at the Waffle House on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville FL, and I have to say it's a nightmare. They change your shift whenever they feel like it. You can be working the second shift 2 to 9 pm and then the third shift which is from 9 to 7 am. They give the morning shift to their so called " top dogs". They never ever close, so come the holidays make sure your family makes plans without you cause you won't be with them. It feels like you're performing because you have to call out the ridiculous orders and what I found most appalling of all is that some people get away with all kinds of rule breaking and others get picked on dramatically by one so-called manager that has a gentle and kind appearance but underneath all that lurks a man with anger issues.
I found myself going home everyday shaking and getting horrendous stomach pains, you have to be the waitress, dish washer, cashier and to add, more than one person uses the register meaning, when the register is short and I meant when not if, you can easily take the blame for it. So if you've applied and didn't get hired, consider yourself lucky! You're better off working for McDonald's, Denny's, anywhere but at the Waffle House.

However this man ** located in Jacksonville, Florida at the Waffle House located on Atlantic Blvd near the 9a off ramp made his mind up on me. As soon as I sat down, he asked me only one question and then asked me if I had any questions and said I would not get the job (everyone else was told they would be called back if they got the job, I mean everyone!). I asked him what, he made such a fast judgement on and he immediately refused to tell me saying he was not allowed.
Hmm, that's a first. I have been turned before and they told me why so that I could better myself and try again. I asked him why so short of an interview. Everyone else got long interviews. I only had 1 minute if that. ** stated "We have a lot of people to choose from." I get up and an attractive female sits at the table next. Instantly ** has a smile that was not pleasant when I was in that same set. He spends a total of at least five minutes with her... I ask myself what happened to the excuse of we have a lot of people to choose from???
I mean really what did he judge me on the fact that I am living on food stamps with a baby on the way and have ADHD and a herniated disk in my neck and back. And yet I am still trying to get a job so I can support my pregnant soon to be wife. Oh wait he did know any of that. I never got to state why I needed this job to him and why I would give it 110 percent and I never show up late. I have a hard time explain things at time due to my ADHD yet I receive no accommodation. I don't even want one. I never have. I just wanted the respect and chance I deserve not some bias white guy named ** with short brownish colored hair rejecting any hope for a call back. There was another manager named **. My bank luckily picked up on a waitress from your main shop in Sam Nunn blvd who when I paid my acct for my meal, she has gone under the cash register where the mastercard machine is on a shelf and used her phone camera to get my acct numbers to try and have $450 taken from my acct. The mastercard/card machine should be located at the top of the counter next to the cash register in view of every customer. It's very easy for a couple of waitresses who can shield each other whilst this is happening. Another amount of $50 was attempted to be deducted from my same account. The answer to this story is the card machine needs to be put up on the counter top next to the cash register. My card was cancelled and ripped up and a new card issued to me.

Even SLOW SWEEPING is a negative thought while eating with visions of Microscopic Dust coming off the floor, into the air and in my nose or food.
I have sat in the parking lot texting or looking at something before going in and nothing much going on inside like SWEEPING OR WIPING TABLES, but the minute I go inside, it isn't long before the broom or Bleach Rag comes out. THE LAST thing I want to be Smelling when I eat is BLEACH. Have I complained? Only once about the "rag" nearby wafting bleach my way. The Waffle House is not a five star place. It is what it is but some practices shouldn't be at any food place. I eventually will complain, but it isn't one of their places, it is all of them this happens at, some more than others. I will probably just lose it good one time and they won’t come near me again with the Broom or Bleach.

I usually love Waffle House! I never had a problem in my life with it, and tonight, since my fiance was working late, I decided I wanted one plain strawberry waffle. So, I go to my local Waffle House in Bremen, Georgia (the one described as the "new one"), since the good one got shut down. Anyway, I go in after calling a to-go order in, and I am so very thankful they had not made it by the time I got there. Someone I have never seen working there was working tonight. I don't feel the need to go into detail of appearances, but this isn't someone I wanted making my food. And lucky me, that's who made it. I will point out, I am a germaphobe. I picked it up out of nowhere about two years ago and it's not fun!
So, first thing, there are dirty brown rags sitting all over the counter where they put the food and stuff in front of grill and waffle makers. That didn't help. Next, the guy has been wiping the counters with those rags and he picks up the spatula to make my waffle. He starts patting it on his hand non-stop while walking around. “Do not touch that without washing your hands,” is all I could think. I knew at this point I wasn't going to eat it, but I let it go on to see how much worse that could get. Then he puts it in the waffle maker and sits the spatula down by the rags. And he opens it back up to check on it. Okay, no biggie. Then he picks up this metal poker looking thing with a wood handle that has been touching the rag and opens it back up and proceeds to scrape it off the iron and flips it into his hand and onto my to-go plate. All the while he has been touching everything there is.
I am beyond disgusted and distraught. I have never written a review in my life on anything, but this had to get told, and hopefully seen! I think it was wrong but I wanted to get out so I paid my $3, no tip, and kicked rocks. I think anyone would have been as disgusted as I was. And I'm so glad I knew about it and didn't unknowingly eat it. It's hard living with germaphobia, but I'm so glad I didn't have to eat it! I went across the road to Cracker Barrel after almost crying and got a great order of French toasts and enough strawberry jelly to last a month.

Another 45 minutes, here she comes with my meat, raw on top, blood bubbles and finally my husband's food, they burned his meat. The couple by us had worse experience, also locals. Her plate was so cold after an hour wait (around 7pm CST) and her husband never got his meat. We were all furious, burned waffles and meat on my plate for dessert. We had to drive 45 minutes to the airport location for a decent Waffle House. She knew how to charge but a 20 minute line to pay (she was taking to-go orders). The cook was filthy, the floor where they were cooking had spilled food all over it and our table was dirty. We had to clean (had plenty of time).

What I did hear was, "Ooh honey, I am ready to go. Yeah, it was about the fight in here this morning, uh-huh, because this boy robbed and shot this man today at Sandtown Villas and it doesn't matter where you live and how big your house is." My regular order is always tap water, no ice w/ lemon wedge, hash browns, golden brown in a ring and whatever meal I choose at that time.
I didn't listen to my order to hear if it was taken correctly, didn't think I had to, being a semi-regular and all. Second, I had to send my fountain water back (I'm anemic and I stay cold all the time). As soon as ** delivered the tap water, she and ** began washing dishes with him standing directly behind the two. Their dialogue: Waitress: "She ain't got nothing else better to do but come up in here and complain, she needs to go home?" Male cook: "Man, for real."
** waitress, smiling and mumbling some words that I couldn't make out. She delivers my breakfast with scattered crispy hash browns. When I mentioned that the hash browns were cooked incorrectly, I got this loud sigh and eye rolling gesture. Then, I was given a quick & insensitive apology. Back at the sink area, ** (waitress) was also noticeably agitated with my dissatisfaction. I asked her if I could have my hash browns cooked over and if the sandwich (bacon, egg and cheese) was cold, please do not bring it back. ** placed the sandwich on top of the toaster w/ plate covering the sandwich.
Now, all three are back at the sink area laughing and talking (at my expense) while recook was taking place. He soothes his co-workers telling them, "It's okay. No problem. I got it. " He calls for her to deliver my order. When I saw ** get my sandwich off the toaster, I wondered if it was cold and it was. I mentioned to her upon delivery that I didn't like cold eggs and I wanted to see the manager. She went to get the manager, **. She returned to say that the manager says she's counting money and she'll be out in a minute.
A minute was actually eighteen minutes. When the manager came over to my booth, I began telling her about the experience I had, including my eighteen minute wait on her. She began to apologize fiercely, and I stopped her to do some talking of my own. I told her, "I love Waffle House food and not because of you or your crew. I worked for Waffle House sixteen years ago and I have never seen such behavior. I don't know why I am being treated like this and it's not right. I always come in with my husband, not boyfriend, and she doesn't have to worry about my ever coming back. I will stay home and cook. I will not treat my family or friends to a meal at that Waffle House ever again. I will not let anyone run me out of a place of any kind. I would like my breakfast cooked the way I asked, whether I eat it or not. I don't want anything free and I don't want the same waitress or cook. I will and always have tipped for good food fast. Thank you, **, for listening to me." These are my exact words to the store manager.
I stayed and I ate uncomfortably because the night crew that was now off was on the other end of the store, eating, laughing and enjoying their meal (again at my expense). They were using foul language and actually throwing things at each other and talking about each others private parts. I do not want my four year old grandson hearing this kind of talk when he is trying to enjoy his meal. Just so you know, the store number is 953.

No rating, not a choice. Wow, that's conceded. My fiance and I both got sick only moments after eating at Waffle House on James Campbell Blvd in Columbia, TN . We attempted several times to speak with a manager to notify them that there could possibly be food contamination. I had to call the manager's personal phone because he decided giving me a call back, apparently, was not important. The server we had played with his nose, the silverware was still dirty. Awful experience and non-caring management.
I had never had a problem with Waffle house before and to be brushed off so easily is very irritating, and especially to know that others including small children low immune system individuals could possibly be eating bad food. This Waffle House needs a health inspection and a training on what customer service is.

We originally arrived at Waffle House at 11:30 p.m. My friends and I wanted to sit down at a booth. The one we wanted had a dirty plate on it. We had to leave because I forgot my wallet. Thirty minutes later, we came back and the same dirty plate was still there. We decided to sit in the smaller booth by it. When we sat down, it took 10 minutes for someone to recognize us. We then immediately asked for our drinks and food. Immediately after asking, she asked Daniel 3 times what he wanted to eat.
When we eventually got our drinks, my order was wrong. I asked for a Hi-C, and I got an ice tea. This was just the start. After 30 minutes of no drink refills, all of us but one got our food. Daniel then had to tell her again what he ordered. My order was an All- Star special, with eggs over medium and a side of double hash browns. When I received my meal, the eggs were scrambled, a single not double hash browns, no sausage, and no waffle. After showing her this, I told her what she forgot. She told us she was sorry. When Daniel received his food finally and it was as you guessed, wrong! Then, she asked him again what he ordered. Ten minutes later, he got his food and ate. I still didn't have my sausage or my waffle. I asked to make me a waffle and she burned it. I told her to just leave it off.
Right before we left, we asked to speak to the manager about a refund or some sort of discount. There was no manager there! Three guys were at the bar that apparently worked there and she asked them what to do. Then, our waitress (Alexis) asked them where her order book was. They said, “Why should I know? I didn't lose it.” They gave us attitude as we waited for our checks. The checks came and Alexis charged me for my sausage and waffle I never got. Five minutes later, we received our checks and left. This was the worst possible service that anyone could have. We finally left Waffle House at 1:05 a.m. We were there for over an hour and it wasn't even crowded, in fact there was only one table other than us there. We also never received a refill the whole time we were there. This was the worst public service ever! Waffle House should be ashamed of this so called service (Alexis).

My husband and I arrived at the above WH this evening, Sunday 12-11-11 at 06:30 pm. We walked in and sat in the first booth in the non-smoking section, glancing at our menu and having our server promptly coming with utensils and drink order. Immediately after having our beverage delivered, the cook starts berating this server in a very loud tone of voice, almost right in front of our booth, and continues to do so getting louder and louder! This cook was completely unprofessional and out of line to his co-worker and especially us the customer! If you have a new server (which he made it clear to all in the store that both servers were new) that requires explanation of requirements and needs of learning the menu, it should not be shouted out to them in front of the customer!
I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life and had it not been our desire for hot coffee, we would have gotten up and left with intentions to never return. This cook definitely needs anger management training and or training with being in a supervisory position and dealing with employees, especially in front of customers.

I'm reading all these complaints and they are mostly about food. We visited Waffle House one night and it took about 35 minutes to get our food (I think I'm actually shorting it by a little bit), but that was not the worst part of the night. The particular Waffle House we visited had a structural problem and due to this, our new vehicle was damaged and the company does not feel the need to repair the problem or take responsibility. Right now, I'm seeking options to get this resolved.

This location deserves no rating, unless it's all negative. I'm a local customer. At breakfast, I ordered Country Ham plate with side of grits and coffee. The server took my order after I sat at my table for around 5 minutes. They were swatting flies. She was complaining about how hungry she was as she took my order. She called the order in right and then proceeded to sit down a booth down from me to eat her meal, totally ignoring me for most of my time while she took her time eating. I sat with an empty coffee cup while waiting for my meal.
I heard the cook ask, 'Who's Country Ham plate is it?" and this server turned and she pointed towards me. The cook brought my plate to me. He acted pissed off that he had to do her job for her and he just flopped my platter down hard in front of me. This embarrassed me very much. The eggs were cold. I ordered a biscuit instead of the toast served to me, and still my coffee cup sat empty.
I waited for over 5 minutes and then I finally heard the cook once again ask, "Who's Country Ham is this?" He should have been able to at least figure that one out. My server, who was still sitting at that booth, got up and brought me my ham. She didn't say sorry or apologized, just set it down on my table and walked away. I never saw her again. The ham was cold, and still, she did not ask me if I needed a coffee refill. Finally, another server walked by and asked if I needed coffee. I got my refill.
This was the worst experience ever of being served food in a public place. They had no manners; there were flies everywhere; they have a rude cook; and original server named Heather was very unprofessional. Maybe I am expecting too much from a public restaurant like Waffle House. I've been to many of them and this is without question the worst one I ever visited. I think I will make a call to the town's Health Department also because of the unhealthy environment I had to endure during my stay this morning.

My wife and I entered the store at around 8:45PM. We sat down in a booth and was waited on. I ordered hash browns and eggs over easy. During our wait, a waitress started to sweep the floor and swept the trash on the floor right past our booth. There were napkins, food and dirt which made us sick to see. This should have been done sooner as it did not have so much trash on the floor. I got my order, okay, but the hash browns were not brown and did not have the slight crisp on top. They were cold and looked like the cook just threw them on the grill for just a few seconds. I asked to cook them again and brown them on the top. When I got them again, my eggs were cold and the hash browns were so crisp they looked like potato chips. I told the manager I was not paying for my order and asked her for the store number, which she did not know. She had to ask a customer what the store number was. I then told her I was calling the corporate office to report the dirty floor and the fact that she did not know how to cook hash browns. She said go ahead, I do not care!
I have reported this Waffle House to corporate recently and was told there was a training issue and it would be resolved. This was three weeks ago. Nothing was ever done. This Waffle House is still the same, employees who have not been trained and have a very poor attitude towards customers who know how food should be prepared. I never had problems with the other stores and I will never go back to this Waffle House again. The corporate office is only interested in people who will eat whatever they'll fix, period. As for me, I know how Waffle House food should be prepared because I have been going to Waffle House for over 30 years. There is a serious problem with the corporate office as far as training their employees and if I could get 1000 people to back me, I would protest every Waffle House that has this problem. It is sad that people no longer take pride in their jobs.

My family and I ate at the Smyrna, DE on April 15 at about 4 a.m. this morning. I have always gotten good service at this location and other locations until tonight. While we ordered our food, the cook went to his car and spent time talking to a woman. When he returned, he went straight to the grill without washing his hands. When our food arrived, there were several mistakes made (wrong toast, missing onions on hash browns, and we had to ask later for my chili). We asked the server to simply fry us up the onions and bring them out instead of remaking the whole order. We had to ask the cook for refills and asked for my chili after I ate my meal. When we asked the server about the onions she loudly announced, “They’re coming alright!”
And she continued to run her mouth to anyone and everyone in the restaurant about us. My sister-in-law commented to the server, “I’m sorry but we did order it that way, it’s not our fault it was wrong.” Then the waitress said, “Look, I do not have to serve you. I’m not bringing you your toast now,” to which we replied, “Well, don’t expect a tip with that attitude.” She said she did not care and walked away ignoring our request for her and the cook’s name. She came back with our receipt (her name scratched off) and ran her mouth to every customer in the place about us using very colorful language. We asked the cook, who was quiet through all of this, what her name was. His reply was, “Dave.” We said, “No, her.” He said, “Donny.” And she laughed aloud. The scratched off name looked like Dauphine or something close. At that point, I said if you’re not serving me, I’m not paying. She replied, “I don’t give a **, it’s not my money.”
I can’t tell you enough how mad and astonished I am that anyone with this type of attitude has a job working with the public. I am done eating at Waffle House at this point. I have never been treated with such disrespect at any place ever. I will be spreading the word of my experience to everyone I know. Thank you.

We had arrived around 3:30 maybe 3:40 and wanted to get breakfast. Other Kia team members were already there ordering breakfast. So there were 7 Kia witnesses to this act. We sat there for about 20 minutes and the waitress never came over to us to ask us if we want anything to drink or even take our order. A ** elderly gentleman walks in and she immediately goes over and assists him. I got her attention and asked her did she not see us, she lied and said no, this place is only so big.
She took our drink order but did not give the gentleman sitting next to me a spoon for his coffee. I assumed that she wanted him to mix his condiments with his finger. I had to get up and get us silver ware. Then it took another 35 minutes before our food was even ready. The place wasn't even busy but the elderly gentleman had gotten his food.
I am certain, this is discrimination and I don't appreciate it. If they don't cater to **, they must put a sign on the door and we want give them our business. I'm taking this further because it was not fair and they should not even hire people who has that type of attitude. I did not have to stay and put up with such rude behavior. The weekend of November 4th 2010, my wife and I travelled through Roanoke in route to North Carolina. We decided to stay over in Roanoke at the Quality Inn on Franklin Road.
The morning of the 5th of November, my wife wanted to eat breakfast at the Waffle House where she has eaten numerous times. When we walked in this particular establishment, the waitresses said hello but nothing more. We looked around as if to ask if we take a seat anywhere but we noticed not one clean table. We stood for over twenty minutes as they looked on and didn't acknowledge that we were still standing. After twenty-five minutes, the waitress begins to clear a table but allows another couple to walk in and sit at the table. My wife looked at me and promptly said she was uncomfortable so we left.
I am not one for racism at any level. This is 2010 and if you have issues with race, leave this country. The owners of Waffle House will eventually have to address the racist staff they place in their establishments because a lawsuit is soon to come! Consequences were based on the embarrassment and the blatant racism displayed.

To start off, the place was full of flies and we could not eat for them. When we got our food (we ordered the special), the waitress brought things out one at a time. The only thing that was warm on the plate was the eggs. The grits were hard and lumpy you couldn't even start to eat them. The toast was cold. The bacon was cold. We got up and went to pay. I asked the waitress if the manager was on duty; she said he is the cook. I told her our food was horrible; she said, “I'm sorry, have a nice day.” She would not let me speak to the manager. This meal cost $17.00 and it wasn't worth $.50. They have people in these places that just don't care. I promise you we will never go back to this Waffle House. I know at least 10 people in our neighborhood that has the same feelings we do.

She did not address me or acknowledge the fact that I had entered the establishment. The cook finally came over and asked me what would I like to drink and as he was taking my order, Donna turned to him and stated, She is not next and turned her head.
Donna had completed the to go order and started making very loud comments about the customers who had the to go order such as, they do not need to come in here anymore, they do not know how to wait and think that someone is going to help them. She also made comments about their ability to place an order. (The customers were Mexican).
After that point, the cook as me what I would like to order and as he began to walk away to complete my order he and ask Donna to prepare my ticket and she refused. While waiting, she began waiting on the other customer (white male)apologizing to him. He stated, It is not a problem, I am not in a hurry. From that point on she refused to serve me. She did not give me my food, the cook had to do so. She did not ask me if I needed anything, refill, nor did she ask me if everything was o.k.
When I completed what I could of my meal, another server asked Donna for my ticket and she refused to write it and instructed the other server to do it. When I was given my ticket she asked Donna to take the money because it was under her name and she refused and walked off. I asked to speak with the manager and as he was walking towards me she stated to him I know it is about me. When addressing the manager, he just started stating that he will speak with her and I told him that I do not think it will have an effect because of the statement she just made to you. I then left the establishment and came back to ask the cook who prepared my food for the coporate office number. When I arrived at work, I immediately called the coperate office and filed a complaint with Evan.
