About Uprova
Uprova is a tribal lending entity offering installment loans as alternatives to traditional payday loans. Uprova markets itself towards borrowers with all credit scores, and its proprietary assessment system checks to see if a customer is a good fit for the brand while also considering if they can actually afford a loan. However, not all applicants are guaranteed approval, and Uprova may run credit checks in certain situations.

Uprova is a company offering installment loans for borrowers with various types of credit. Uprova has an online application and funding process, and it can provide funds in under 30 minutes. The company is wholly owned by The Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake tribe.
Uprova’s loans are not available to residents of every state, and the Tribe may change the states it accepts applications from. Check Uprova’s website to see if its services are available to you when you’re ready to borrow.
How does Uprova work?
After you fill out Uprova’s online application, you should know if you are approved within seconds of submission. If you’re approved, funding should be available in under 30 minutes.
Uprova doesn’t charge any sort of application fee, but it may check your credit. However, one of Uprova’s standout features is its proprietary assessment tool, which judges your ability to pay back a loan — not just your credit score. Uprova offers loans for a variety of people, credit scores and financial situations (although rates might not be ideal in some cases.)
Uprova loans
Uprova has pages on its website for personal loans and tribal loans. Tribal loans have fixed terms and multiple installments. Uprova is able to offer these loans because it's an arm of the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake tribe.
Uprova’s loans are available in amounts between $300 and $5,000. There are no application, origination or prepayment penalties. Uprova states that its loans can be repaid in 20 biweekly payments, which averages out to a little over nine months. A disclaimer on its website corroborates this, stating that terms can range from nine to 36 months. There are no collateral requirements.
Uprova rates
Uprova doesn’t provide much upfront information about its rates, but according to a disclaimer on its website, representative examples might have APRs ranging from 34.5% to 35.99% and terms ranging from nine to 36 months. Check your rate with Uprova to get a more concrete number based on your personal financial situation.
Uprova’s loans come with fixed rates, fixed terms and fixed, biweekly payment schedules. There are no prepayment penalties.

Uprova is the absolute worst finance company to request a payment deferral. In an effort to try and get my loan paid off, they are not willing to allow individuals an extension "saying their computer system does not allow them to change a payment due date." However, when the payment is returned to them for nsf at that point they will discuss other payment options. Seriously?
The worst ever. It's like lying to you and you're not seeing the big picture. Getting a $600 loan and paying back over 2000. Wow. This will make me never to get a loan again. You guys need to be sued. I will never deal with this company again. This not a company, it's a Rip Off at its best. Taking them to court. Whatever you do please do not borrow from this place.

Interest rates are insane, over 300%. If something happens during the years and you need to adjust a payment it’s impossible. They will not edit or cancel any payments. Customer service is very unfriendly.
I wish I was unable to give no stars. This company is robbing human beings. If you can go another route if you are in need please do so. The interest they charge are through the roof. Never again. All your payments go to interest and not your loan.
I had a short term loan with Uprova. It was very easy to get approved, but I advise against it 100%. After my loan was paid off 1200, I still owed 1400 in interest? The interest never was added into the payments for some reason. If I hadn't looked at my account after my last payment was made I would not have seen that they were going to deduct that 1400 directly out of my account. I called and they fixed it. I have never experienced a company that could just change payments like that. Now I still owe 1400, which again, makes no sense. Do not get a loan through here!
Do not get a loan from his company EVER. Read the fine print. Their annual interest rate is 407%. Take out a $2000 loan and you will own $8000 by the end of the year. They prey on people who don't read the details. It's all online and at the click of a button. They get around federal and state regulation because they are on tribal land and do not have to follow the laws on usury interest rates. Do not borrow from this company unless you want to be further in debt.
This company always has their website down so you can't make payments on your loan, therefore, you end up paying about 40X the original amount. The wait times to call are insane. I've currently been waiting over an hour. Three payments in a row and I haven't been able to just pay off this loan. I'm going to report this company as fraud to my bank and to the BBB. DO NOT USE this company.
I was looking to get a little extra money for the holidays and Uprova came through. Unfortunately their rates are set high. 600 and I'm paying back 1800? I did not get to see any paperwork beforehand or I would have NEVER accepted the loan. I don't have much money to begin with that why I needed to borrow and now you expect me to pay back 3x the amount. Barely any of my payment is going towards what I borrowed. Such a huge rip off. I'm in more debt now than when I started. Then the website never works. It's always getting Maintenance or they are resetting your password ever few days. I still can't log in and I tried this morning. Never using this company again and I hate I'm in this situation now.
On 12/22/21 I was approved. (Loan **, since y'all had issues finding other reviewers loans). After a mix up with accounts and banking, I never received funds... My bank confirmed twice, via 3 way call, that they returned the funds back to Uprova on 12/23/21 AM. It is now 1/3/2022 and no one knows where the money is. I am now negative in my account. No money for gas or to feed my kid (no govt assistance and no child support), can't pay rent... I was told 12/31/21 that they'd know an answer to the trace Monday/Tuesday... Yet no one informed me that they are closed today!!! I'm furious. And 1st payment is to be auto drafted on the 7th!!! I've now filed complaints with BBB and will continue to do so where I can.
