    I had lost my husband and I ended up in some debt. And United Debt Counselors is just a blessing. They contacted me and their enrollment process was great. Their customer service was terrific and the interaction was great. I'd call them if I didn’t understand something and if I'd have an extension but the rep wasn’t there, I'd leave a message and they'd call back.     I completed United Debt's program in about six months to a year. I got out pretty fast and I'm debt free now. The monthly phone calls really helped out a lot. They were available for me when I called them. Once we got a ball rolling on one of the credit cards, the negotiator was very attentive. He was there for me when I needed him and communication was good, so he made it a lot easier. I have recommended United Debt to my wife, and she’s going through a process right now.

    There was a lot of turnover in United Debt Counselors. When I was in their program, I didn’t have a person all the time. I should’ve looked into it more. I didn’t realize how badly I get cremated in debt while I'm struggling to make payments. They told me not to make any more payments and ignore all the threatening phone calls. The first three or four months that I pay into their program, I'm paying them before they start to help me. It took about nine months before they started making payments to our creditors. Whenever my wife and I call them, they tell us to just give their number to the creditors. Nothing was helpful. Meanwhile, I was struggling to make my payments, but I was making them. I had a good credit then, but now, I have horrible credit.

    Throughout the process, I was always wondering. I felt like I was left in the wind. I would get a monthly call, but the lady wasn’t able to give me any information. I would have to call and speak to a supervisor for any question or concern. My wife and I shared a card, but most of the debt was in my name. I had to have it notarized that my wife was willing to let the debt counselors talk to the creditors, and sent the form back to United Debt Counselors.

    About six months later, we were getting letters from the courts saying that the debts were with a collection agency. They wanted to file in court. So I called United Debt Counselors but the first number just rang and rang. I called another number, which is that of my agent Jeff, but I also got no answer. I then called the original number and told them that I couldn’t get a hold of Jeff. I was told that he was fired and that when he left, he took all his stuff with him. So I had to go through the process again. I had to go to the notary, get the forms filled out, send it back, and then they were able to talk to the creditors.

    Also, we figured out that if you have a credit card and you don’t pay it, the credit card company will call you and make the same deal with you that the debt counselor gets. We talked to a place and they said, “Okay, we understand that you’re having hardships and everything. We’ll reduce the debt to $850.” That time, we said that we were told we can’t do anything. I got a call from United Debt Counselors a month later telling me that they are gonna settle with that same creditor for $850. I was like, "I could’ve done that myself." I ended up paying them a lump sum to get it done. My mother passed away and left me a small amount of money that I was able to just give them so that this process would be over and done with.

    My debt was out of control. I had something in the mail from United Debt Counselors and started calling. I used them to lower my debt with the people that I owe money to. Their enrollment process was pretty good but I was upset with them towards the end because I had four companies that I was dealing with for debt. They helped me with two companies, but they were smaller ones. However, American Express and Optima didn't wanna do anything with a third party and I had to negotiate myself. United Debt walked me through what to say and do though. I paid them over $8,000 but I could’ve just used paid that money towards my debts and negotiated myself. They should’ve known in the beginning that American Express and Optima don't deal with third parties. If they told me then I could’ve said that I would handle it myself.

    Sometimes I would call and the people that answer the phone are very nice. The lady that I was dealing with at the end was okay. She was really nice and helpful. She would call me back a lot. But I wasn’t happy with the first rep. She was rude and would never call me back. I just didn't care for her, especially when I was in a bind and didn't know what to do. Still, I’m done now and I'm happy after working out my debt.

    We were having issues with our credit cards which led us to United Debt Counselors. I signed up and their enrolment process was very simple.     I was sent a letter in the mail by United Debt Counselors and at that time, I was over my limit in bills. I decided to call the number and the lady talked to me. She explained to me the program and I agreed to what she was saying. I read the letter that others were sending me and they had a limit part so I didn’t like that. They were also charging me too much. I couldn’t afford it that was why I wanted to do the consolidation. United Debt Counselors came in at the right time because I had moved to Louisiana, and that was when they sent the letter.

    United Debt Counselors took a lot of stress off me. They talked to the creditors and they negotiated with them. Everybody that was a part of that program working there was very kind and they wanted to make sure that they could meet my needs. They were wonderful. They answered my questions and they went beyond what I asked for.

    The program was excellent because a couple of years later, I could not pay the amount that they had set me on, and they worked with me. I had paid enough into the program, and it paid off a lot of my credit cards. The program has worked for me to not get in debt anymore. I got the letter that I have graduated out of the program and my credit score has gone up. I'm thankful for that because I did apply for a major credit card as I needed one at least, and my credit score was 700. I have kept it and maintained at that place. I was very happy with United Debt Counselors and I still talk about it today. I referred it to a couple of people.

    The lady that I talked to at United Debt was very convincing. I wasn’t too happy about the initial situation ‘cause they didn’t tell me that my credit was gonna be messed up. They didn’t in fact explain to me that once I signed up, my creditor would be putting me in in the credit bureau. For the past 18 months, I was in the credit bureau so I couldn’t buy anything. I had no credit and that was definitely a problem. If they had said that to me, I probably wouldn’t be in the program. Nevertheless, United Debt got all the bills taken care of.

    I wanted to pay off some debt that we had to save money 'cause my husband had student loans coming up. I Googled the internet and United Debt has pretty good reviews, and that was where I went. Everybody was very compassionate and caring, and they have wonderful customer service. I talked to so many different people and all the courtesy calls were appreciated. Lisa who was in the settlement department was really kind and compassionate. She helped me 'cause I was nervous and I didn't wanna get in trouble. I was never late in my bills and she kinda helped me through it when my creditors went to law firms.

    United Debt doesn't work with one of our credit cards and that's Chase. I set up a program by myself with them. I'm making payments to them, but I'm almost done. I have also paid my last creditor and I'm done with the program with United Debt. It took three years to complete and the monthly payments were doable. Even when I had to pay extra, they were something that I could do. Working with United Debt kinda taught me how to manage money. If I need help, I know where to go. I have told my friends and co-workers about United Debt.

    A guy who had a big packet for me came to my house and we got a bunch of paperwork. I had some credit card debt, they were up and I told him what credit cards I needed help with. There were 10 of them and United Debt got those cards all squared away. I paid my monthly payments and last month, they told me that I had graduated from the program. I was in it for three to five years and for the first year or two, I spoke to Yolanda, and then it was random people who would call, looking to see if I had any questions. Overall, United Debt is up-to-date. They call you. You call them, and they get back to you. They stand up for things and they try to get somebody who would help with what you’re calling about. They’re on the up and up and they do what they say they do. If I ever got in trouble again, I’d go back to them.

    I had a debt with Chase Bank that I wouldn't be able to pay and United Debt Counselors offered to help me out. I made an agreement with Chase Bank and United really made me work on the case. The lady whom I worked with was very enthusiastic to help me out and get free of debt. She made me feel comfortable with her. United and got to an agreement on the phone with regards to monthly payments. I ended up having to pay chump change for the debt instead of paying the whole thing. I took time for me to pay it all. Now that I've paid, United called me to say that they’re gonna send me a certificate and I'm still waiting for that. I also need confirmation from Chase Bank that my payments are complete.

    I called up United Debt and had some questions, and then they put me in touch with a client that was in the program, and we talked personally on the phone. After I talked with her, I felt much more comfortable. It was very easy to enroll to their program and their rep was very easy to talk to. They would check in from time to time just to see how things were going, and for any questions. The communication was very smooth.

    United Debt combined everything and I had one payment a month. It was very easy to do that, and saved me a lot of interest. We started off and then I added another card, so we adjusted the monthly payment. But they could not work with American Express. So I ended up dealing with them on my own. But United Debt made numerous efforts to reach out to American Express. American Express wouldn’t talk to them, so it was not their fault. United Debt put me on a path where I wasn’t just paying the minimum payments. They negotiated with the debtors, and got me a really reduced price and I was able to pay it off. I'm done with the program. So now I'm credit card debt-free.

    I owed JCPenney $600. For about two years, I continued paying $150 every month and the debt would never go down. United Debt helped me out and I’m satisfied. If not for them, I would’ve never gotten out of that credit card debt. It’s not easy to come out of that thing. It's not t easy to pay $15,000. It would take another 20 years to pay that. United Debt is a very wonderful company and I respect it so much. They have a very good program which worked in many ways. Everybody is very nice. I did it for almost 20 months and I didn’t have any problem with them. You call them and they’re there for you. They tell you the right thing. I’m finished with the program and I don’t want to be near credit cards now. I’m afraid of that. It's dangerous. For the rest of my life, I will never want it.

    I was spending more money than I was bringing in. I was looking through the internet looking at things and United Debt Counselors caught my eye. I called and had a fellow come out to the house from Texas and we signed up with him. I liked the idea, so we made a plan and we worked on it. We had three different outstanding debts and we looked at the interest rate. We had two Citi card debt and Wells Fargo. He suggested that we could start with the one that had the highest interest rate, then we could start knocking it out on that one, so that is what we did.

    What got me intrigued, though, is they could get it at 40%. For the first one that I started out with, I paid up around 60% and got it out of the way. For the next one, they got it done at 50%, but for the last one, the biggest one, I said that I wanted it at 40%. We started at 60%, then 50% and now we got it at 40%. I stuck to my goals and I did it. If someone is considering going through the program, it is a great idea. It helped me tremendously and I would recommend it.

    I got something in the mail where United Debt Counselors spelled out their procedure, so I contacted them and I was well-satisfied. The enrollment process was very easy. A middle-aged lady came by and got me signed up. It was very personal. She was very knowledgeable and she put me at ease about the whole process. Throughout the program, United Debt Collectors kept me informed of everything that was going on, and I knew where I stood with whatever credit card they were working on. They have set me up with a payment plan that I was able to make and I designated the payments. It was entirely up to me because they gave me choices of what payment type and how much they wanted me to get out of my bank account. They also gave me a good picture of the time I was going to pay off my debts. I was able to put away the amount that they designated and in three years, it was all over. I have already completed the program.

    I had too many credit card bills and picked out United Debt Counselors for their services. I enrolled with them over the phone and the enrollment process was okay. The payment plan was doable as well. Their reps were helpful and seemed to get the job done for me. But if I have questions, there were a lot of phone tag and they call me back within one to two days. Other than that, working with United Debt made my life better and increased my credit score. They said I completed the program, but I still got one outstanding bill. I was wondering if they could help me with it, but they said I have to take care of it on my own.

    We had a total of three credit cards that we've been trying to get straightened out. I sought United Debt's services and the enrollment process was okay. We did all of the processes then they sent me out the package. I sent back things that they had to get and they were good about it. We started with the smaller ones first then went to the big one. With the first two cards, United Debt’s negotiator was able to get everything worked out with the people that we owed the money to. But the last one, which was not their fault, the negotiator kept trying to send the information to the bank who kept sending the paperwork back. So, I let it go for three months from the time she started on this.

    I had a time also that I was calling the negotiator and she didn't get back to me. I kept getting upset. But when she finally did, she was right on it. Still, she couldn't get anything done because the bank was not cooperating. I told her that it did not seem like the bank was gonna cooperate so, we opted out of the program. United Debt returned the money that we paid. I had all the faith in United Debt and it was the bank that was being a pain. We were making the payments and building the money up but the bank did not want to negotiate with us and that they wanted more money. They did not even wanna talk to the negotiator about it. So now, the bank is not gonna get anything because we are gonna file for bankruptcy. United Debt did a great job and if anybody has to go through what we did, I would recommend them.

    We needed somebody to help us with our bills. We decided to call United Debt Counselors and somebody came over and helped us get signed up. They got my bills all lowered and got them paid off for me. They did a good job on it. The enrollment process wasn't that hard at all. When they told us how the payment plan worked, it went really smoothly. I worked with two people and they both did a good job. They kept us informed and all the times that I had questions, they were there to answer them. They called us every time that they got a bill that they were trying to get paid off. They got everybody's information and they did a real good job for us. The monthly payments were easy. They were automatically taken out of our check so we didn't have to worry about it.

    United Debt Counselors did all the work over the phone and that was easy for me because I can't get out very much. They settled all my debt. I just gave them the letters and told them that they can handle it. I had one person that didn't want to let the UDC rep have any information. The UDC rep ended up calling him back and told him that they would settle it. The company wasn't gonna settle at first but they were real nice about it after they heard from UDC. Now, I don't owe anybody any money. If somebody asks me about United Debt Counselors, I'd tell them to go ahead and go for it. They did the best job and they were honest about everything.

    I was in over my head with credit card debt and I needed help getting things paid off back to where I needed to be. For the amount of what the credit cards were costing me, the payment plan they came up with was great. It came to 388.03 a month and we worked with that until the debt was paid off. They also figured out how long it would take me to pay it off.

    The debt consultant I worked with was very good. I understood things and I always had a number if I needed to call to ask any questions. Every month, someone contacted me after my payment was made to make sure that everything was still okay with me with the payment plan. Everyone I talked to was very pleasant and helpful.     I was in the hospital and because of the hospital debt, I couldn't make all the payments as I had before. I contacted United Debt Counselors and enrolling with them was easily accomplished. I had to call because I don't have computers, and it was fine. Their representative was very knowledgeable and kind, and she helped a great deal. They were also nonjudgmental because it was a hard decision for me to make since if I hadn't landed in a hospital twice within a month, that wouldn't have happened. I would've continued to pay off the credit cards on my own after that. United took into account everything but if I had a question or a concern, they got back to me with a response the same day. If I happen to call later in the afternoon, they get back to me first thing in the morning. Right now, the debt is paid off and it’s definitely a relief.

    United Debt Counselors had the lowest monthly payments so I went with them. It was easy enrolling and I was impressed with the debt consultants whom I worked with. They have quick response and were able to answer all my questions. My payment plan with United Debt was based on the debt ratio and I have completed their program.

    The only complaint I have though is I’m on Social Security and if they had put the debt under my name, I would’ve had my Social Security taken for a little bit until they got the money to pay because it was something like I make money. I wasn’t told that that was gonna be a problem at all and I wish they would have told me that. Another thing that I had wasn’t aware of is that one of the people I owed money to wouldn’t settle, so I’m gonna have bad credit for seven to 10 years instead of just the four years that I was planning on. Nevertheless, working with United Debt Counselors did take a lot of stress away. It was very hard for us for the four years, but it was worth it because I am kind of debt free.

    I was broke and I was going deeper in debt. I had done some research and work, and United Debt Counselors has the best rating and program. It was pretty easy to get enrolled with them. I find the cost quite fair, and they based my payments on the debt that I had and divided it all out over a period of time.     I had worked with United Debt a couple of years ago and they were dependable and honest. I called them again for another service and they sent out a representative. She went through all the papers with me. It was like signing for a mortgage but it was very complete, thorough and friendly. But there was a misunderstanding of why I was calling and it was a little difficult. She got her supervisor and she finally understood exactly what I wanted and how we wanted to set it up.

    I received a letter and made the phone call to United Debt Counselors. I wanna know if the company was legit and then the rep who I spoke with explained everything, step-by-step. And then he recommended the person in the notary. They came to my house and we followed what the rep said. What they did was really good. I am debt-free right now. The best part was that when there was one company that didn’t wanna settle because I was making the minimum payments regularly, I had some money left over in my account. So they sent me the check, and I paid off that bank. It was great.

    I just got a divorce. As the divorce wasn't my fault, I didn't want to have to pay Etsy, Amazon and everything linked to my credit cards.     As I was watching TV, United Debt Counselors was advertised and I loved it. At the same time, I was looking at all my credit card bills. I was doing monthly payments and the interest was killing me. I had gotten sick and I was on a short term disability, which didn’t even cover half of my check. No matter how much you make, New York State disability only allows you $170 a week. It was no way that my bills, my rent, life insurance and medical would have been covered. So, I decided to take all my credit cards and put them in a program. United Debt Counselors was the first one that popped up when I turned the TV on, so I went for it.

    The enrollment was done within the same day. When I called, the first agent I spoke with was David. I told him my situation and credit card history. He asked me some questions and I gave him the answers in one day. He said that a young lady was gonna call me within 24 or 48 hours, business days, and that she was gonna come by my home to sit down and talk. She called me the next day and came to me. She told me the process, how long it would take and my responsibility.

    The rep convinced me that I can trust the program with the identity theft and all the craziness that’s going on nowadays. She built up my confidence that I can trust giving her personal information - my personal security and my checking account number. I'm the type of person that’s very hard to get some information from, especially if I don’t feel comfortable, but she made me feel that I made the right decision in the program that I chose to help me with my credit card issue.

    The rep asked me the best week of the month that I can have the payment taken out of my checking account that would not interfere with my other bills like medicine, cable, life insurance, laundry, food, and cleaning bills. She said, “Well, you pick the day of the month, and it will only be on that day we will take out the payment. We won't interfere with any of your lifestyle.” It was the 15th of every month, but my pay period was every Wednesday and the 15th did not fall on the Wednesday of each month on the same date, and it was clashing with the due dates of my other bills. I said, “No. I have to pick a week where I don’t have bills to pay except my credit card payments.” And they allowed me to change the dates where it was perfect.

    However, I got laid off. I called the program and I explained my situation and I gave them any documents that they needed to check to verify my issue. They worked with me to cut my monthly payments by a few dollars. I was having them take out $331.98, so they cut it down to $302 when I was on unemployment, and it worked out perfectly. But they told me that I have to add an extra couple of months. I was originally supposed to be finished by July, but being that they had to cut my payments for a few dollars, I had to extend it to October, which I had no problems with.

    I was so relieved that I could pay them in 24 months. All my questions were answered and they called occasionally to check on me to see if everything was okay or if I had any concerns. Working with United Debt Counselors taught me a lesson. Too much of anything is not good for you and you can get lost and get carried away that you will find yourself in hot water real fast. The program also taught me that I have to be aware of my spending, my decisions and how it would impact my lifestyle. I've learned to not live above the means.

    And because of that experience, I recommended to some of my coworkers that they also put their credit cards in the United Debt solution, and they have. United Debt Counselors has some of my coworkers as clients now and some have the 18-month program, while one has the 24. And now, they are trying to convince their family members to also join the program. United Debt Counselors is doing excellent.

    I got a phone call from United Debt. They were the only ones I talked to and the enrollment process was fairly easy. The staff was good although their website was hard to use. I could never remember what I needed to get into it. They called me once a month anyway, and I did call them a couple of times. So, after fighting with the website for a couple of times, I didn’t try it anymore. I just reached them through the telephone. The cost of the program was a little high but it is what it is and now, I’m out of debt.

    I needed someone with more knowledge on what to do but the companies didn't care and wouldn't talk to me.     I have been placed on unexpected disability. I have a condition of a bone deterioration and I had hip replacement. I worked through those times, and I had totally figured maybe I'll go through the whole 65, and it didn’t happen. I got a bad knee, and they told me I had to go on disability which I wasn’t prepared for financially because I needed those extra five years to clear out my credit card debt.

    I happened to get the call from United Debt Counselors one day, and it sounded like a good idea for me. The bank told me I should have asked them. They could've done it, but I was very busy then. I have a lot of family problems. United Debt fell right into my lap. So, I decided to go for it. The enrollment was very easy. The person who came to my house did the notary. She told me the paperwork, but the girl on the phone was the one that told me everything, and why I wanted to join was because of that.

    I have a little bit of a complain because I was told at the very beginning that one of the credit cards might be a problem due to the fact that the biggest one was from the bank that I did business with. It ended up a problem for real. I was supposed to be finished in October. We set it up to be 256 and when they told me that, I increased it to 300 a month only, but it didn’t make much of a difference because some of the other ones were asking for more money than they could talk them down to. So, now I'm still paying off two more bills. It didn’t stay the way it should have, but hopefully by April, I'll be finished with that.

    Also, there were two bills that looked like they were gonna be left behind. And I didn’t want to go past the timing that they had given me because I was already anxious. It's been three years. Now, I want it finished. By the time we got to it, it was too late. They said I had to finish it off, so she set me up with what I have to do, and I followed through, and that was it. Working with United Debt allowed me to have a tight budget now, but because of other helping people, I'm all right. I'm not in the street and I'm not hungry. I would recommend United Debt to a friend.

    We were over our heads in credit card debt and we attempted to short sell our home, which didn't work out very well, so we were deep under. There was an option of going bankrupt, but we thought we could handle the debt consolidation without going bankrupt. After doing a very short interview, we decided to look into a debt counseling service with United Debt Counselors. We made the appointment and we did the eye-to-eye type of meeting. We got the information that they said they would send and we got the packet within 24 hours. The information that was in there was self-explanatory. United Debt Counselors said they were gonna send somebody over and go over the paperwork with us. Then, they notarized it at the same time.

    It worked out at that time for us because we were more looking at a bankruptcy thing, but I was afraid I made a little too much money to qualify and come to find out that was exactly what would have happened. I would have been denied the bankruptcy option and I still would have had to turn to something to assist our credit. Also, the bankruptcy would have affected us a lot longer.

    We interacted with the debt consultants on each one of the different credit cards. A couple of the credit card companies didn't wanna work with the debt consolidation because although there is a federal debt act, they said they do not have to negotiate with any type of debt consolidation type of company. The first company took me to court and United Debt Counselors negotiated out of court settlement. We might have saved almost $4,000 from the total amount that was on the card. There were two other ones that we settled left that were settled between 40 and 45% of the debt, which was a lot, and it definitely helped us.

    And with our Discovery, we offered to settle half a decent price, but once we said we would, they re-neg on us. They found out that my Discovery card was already assigned to a law firm and that particular law firm requested my wife's Discovery card. We went to the county attorney and he said it was illegal. When the law firm agreed to settle my account, they had a binding contract with us.

    The particular credit card company used all my data and my information and they turned around and used it against my wife. They did insider trading against me. They knew what I made or how much it was that I was ready to settle. We settled the first card and not more than 30 days later, we were getting a letter, another lawsuit for my wife's Discovery credit card from the same law firm. It was illegal, however, we have too little for us to stand on at the time. The county attorney's office helped us out and they gave us a couple of options, but the options were a lot of money out of our pockets that we could not afford. I'd recommend United Debt Counselors and as a matter of fact, we have recommended them to a couple of other people.

    I checked with the Better Business Bureau and United Debt Counselors had a positive rating so I thought I would at least check it out. They provided credit card consolidation and we discussed what I could handle as far as payment. They worked with me within that. I had three credit cards and as each one was finished, they would go to the second one and explain if there needed to be any change in the amount. We always worked it out to where I was able to take care of my other regular monthly bills without any stress.

    They were very helpful in explaining any questions that I had or any concerns and they were never judgmental. They tried as much as possible like when I would get nervous from getting phone calls, they explained to me what the procedure would be to try to minimize that.     My wife had lost her job and we ended up living off credit cards for quite a while. But we got to the point where we couldn't keep up. United Debt Counselors was the one that I talked to that I liked. They had somebody come to the house and I gave him all my credit cards and the amounts. And then, United got back to me with a plan and we went from there. They told me that it was gonna be $568 and change for 36 months and it would be taken care of. I fulfilled my part. I did my 36 months and they took a payment out each month out of my account. But when it was all said and done, there were still two cards that weren't taken care of. So, somebody either lied to me, didn't do what they were supposed to do, or ended up giving more than they should have to a card.

    Also, there was one woman that handled one of the cards because it had gone through an attorney. I was very disappointed in that overall aspect of it because I ended up paying 85% on that card. That wasn't how it was supposed to work, but I did it because I needed to get it taken care of. But other than that, they were fairly good about calling me and letting me know what was going on and then asking me if I had any questions. And the lady I dealt with mostly was always good and straight up with me. I would tell others who'd ask about United Debt to use their own judgment and I would let them know what my situation was at the end of 36 months.

    I had been struggling to make payments for a number of years already and it seemed to get nowhere. I was making payment after payment and I just can't get on top of what I owe so I was looking for a way out. Then I got a letter in the mail from United Debt which explained that if I was over $10,000 in debt, they could help me get out of it within a few years.     I was tired of paying out of my butt every month. I had a phone call with someone from United Debt Counselors and the rep told me about the process procedures which sounded good to me that would save me money in the future. Then, an appointment was set up with some other representatives to come to my house. The paperwork was filed and off we went from there. Their reps were all good.     I’m getting close to 60 and there are some debts that I’ve been struggling to take care of over the last couple of years. I would like to get this all said and done and pay all my bills while I’m still in a good position to do so and not have to go into retirement with a couple of thousand dollars in debt still over my head. The enrollment process with United Debt Counselors went smoothly. Initially, I spoke to Duane but then they switched consultants and I dealt with another gentleman thereafter.

    I’m on the road a lot, so I don’t have an hour or two hours to sit down at my desk and take note of the approval numbers and all kinds of information. The only hours I’m available is on Saturdays, but they don’t have any Saturday hours, so that’s unfortunate. The second consultant, however, was willing to go of his my way to accommodate me. He told me to call him and he would let me know what was going on, and we could come to terms. So I called him, and he was quite accommodating. He explained the entire process to me very thoroughly, and he did a very good job of answering my questions.

    I also worked with Lisa who really seemed to be genuinely concerned. She claimed to have many years of experience in handling cases such as mine, and she had a lot of really good answers. I had a couple of questions for her as well and she was really quick to respond. She said she would be handling my case for an unspecified period of time beyond that point. She said she would be more than glad to look into it and see what she could do to help me out. However, she is probably no longer with United Debt Counselors because when I called one time and I asked to speak with her, somebody said that Lisa is no longer in their department. So then, right near the end, I worked with a different lady and she was good too.

    My payment plan with United Debt Counselors went very well even though I changed my mind a couple of times because I got my local credit union involved, which we didn’t really wanna do. United Debt Counselors gave me some misinformation, telling me that it was pretty much an all for nothing, so I had to throw everything into the bucket and pay on everything. They charged me a percentage as a fee based on my total debt load so I decided to take one or two accounts out of that, as that would’ve changed that fee. It would’ve been different though if we would recalculate everything from day one, but it turned out good in the long run, although it probably cost me a few dollars more than it should have.

    I took one account out of the bucket to my local credit union, and then I threw another credit card back in. There were some additions and some subtractions here and there, but it all balanced out okay. There were some adjustments on my part and as far as United Debt Counselors’ end, it was dealt with very smoothly. United Debt Counselors helped me get rid of that debt load and it has worked out well. My credit score took a bit of a dive for a short while but right now it is about 760 and I have a very light debt load.

    With my income, I couldn't make my ends meet anymore and I needed to do something. United contacted me at the right time and I got in their program. The enrollment process was very easy. I just listed everything I owed and told them what income I had and all the bills that I was paying. Then they approached my creditors and asked them if they could work with me and they all did.     I had a lot of bills that I could not pay and I needed to do something ‘cause I didn’t know how. It was like a revolving door and I couldn’t get any of them cleared. I did some research online and I found United Debt Counselors. They seemed to be the best and they could make a settlement within a couple of days. The enrolment process was very well done. Someone came out, explained everything, and had me sign papers. They asked me what I had and we decided on three credit cards that I was gonna pay off then we just decided on an amount.

    UDC did debt consolidation for me and when I had some questions, they answered my questions right away. They were very courteous too.     I got a letter a mail and it made it sound like that I needed to do something. I reached out to United Debt Counselors and after I got into it, it was too late to get out of it but it was fine. It took two and a half years and they would call every month and check and see if I had any questions or anything like that. They were nice and friendly.     There was a letter in the mail and I called the number on it. I spoke with Debra from United Debt and said she was gonna send out somebody. I was off on the weekend that she was gonna send a person to the house so I told her yes. The person came out, talked with me and gave me the details. After she talked with me, I didn't like United Debt, but I just decided to work with them after all. They wanted me to put all my accounts in but I said "no" and just put in two.

    When they first got it, I had to pay for six months before they went to the creditors. I realized they were taking the money and none was going towards the debt. The only difference I saw was that they were only saving me the interest per month. When I added their part and the part that they bargained for together, the money was the same. The bills also kept coming to me and the creditors kept calling me. United Debt should have called the people and talked to the people. The people shouldn't be calling me. It was a nuisance to me and United Debt was saying that all I had to do was ignore the calls, which was embarrassing.

    At that time, I had to look for an apartment, but I could not because United Debt messed up my credit. Up until now my credit is not back up and I have to stick to where I am and paying this rent. And there was a cheaper place for me. They said that was how it works. They have settled one and I still have until next year to go. Sometimes, you can live in this country without credit too. You just have to learn to monitor yourself. Right now, I'm living without it and I'm trying to train myself so that I will never go back to the way it was before. I'm satisfied with United Debt but I'm not happy.

    I was so overloaded with credit card debt. We had a lot of medical expense, some home expense, but mostly we had car repairs. I sought help from United Debt Counselors, which I saw was advertised on TV. When I talked to them at that time, the gentleman explained to me how it worked. Enrolling in the service was very easy. They took my case. Something was sent to the mail, I signed it and got it back to them. We took care of the administrative part.

    United reduced my credit card debt from 31,000 down to considerably 15,000. There were three credit cards involved. One of them was combined with another credit card and those two balances together. Our United counselor Eric asked me the questions that he was seeking and the information that he needed. There were times I had a question that I would call. If Eric wasn’t in, the person who answered the phone always gave me the answer. One day, a lady called and said she had good news for me. She said that the Citibank debt was paid off.

    We are now working on the Capital One and Discover cards, which were combined into one card. It worked out well just like they said we were supposed to get from United Debt Counselors on the TV ad. I’m very pleased. It was all done by phone and it has been very easy so far. The guys at United have knowledge and capability of helping. They supplied the answers to questions that I had.

    They also set up the payment plan for the Citibank card and the other cards, and they told me exactly how much I had to pay in exactly how many months. I’m fulfilling those things now as these months pass by. The quality of help that I received has been excellent. The guys at United are very good at what they do. Working with them taught me to leave those darn credit cards alone as much as I can, except in an emergency. Sometimes, we just have to use them but only the very small amount. Hopefully, in approximately 20 months, I’ll have the debt paid for. Hopefully, too, I’d be able to buy my wife a new car in the later months.     United Debt Counselors gave me a cheaper rate and they took in all the information during the enrollment process. I met with somebody and signed papers. The debt consultants were good. They never asked me any questions and they never bothered me. I just signed up and rolled the money out, and I didn't have to deal with them anymore. They called every once in a while and somebody would ask me how things were going.

    After they told me it was paid off, the man I spoke to came back. One of the outfits I was with went higher and nobody told me that I would have to pay more money, so I ended up paying about $1,400 more than I thought I was gonna pay. The program ran longer and I ended up having to spend more than what they told me. The payment plan hurt me, but it was better than the one I had. I had a way to put the debts all on one spot and I wasn't paying five or six different places. The cost was better than what the debtors wanted. Then, I got my first negotiation letter saying, "This credit card will accept this amount. Do you want to pay it off?" I wouldn't give them any extra money because I was still kinda skeptical. But I finally got onto it and once a month I've seen a letter come back from that first credit card company, then I started sending way bigger payments. That was how I got it off my records after.

    Initially, I had seven credit cards that we were supposed to do. They told me that they would take care of all of them but then they said that Target doesn't work with them. It wasn't said upfront. They should know going into it that Target doesn't deal with them because it's not just me, it's everybody that they deal with. They didn't single me out and say Target won't accept their offer. They wouldn't even talk to them. I had a $3,000-credit card I still had to pay off on top of that and that $3,000 was included in the part of my payment. It was part of my monthly. So, I feel like I got shafted about $3,000 from that.

    Everything was significant other than the Target thing. My last credit card, the biggest one that I have, was over $18,000 and they negotiated it for $7,900. I had $38,000 in credit card debt and I paid it off in 19 months. I finished the program 15 months early because I was focused on getting everything off my credit and I took care of the Target one on my own.

    The negotiator that I had for me just had a lot of people under him but he was good. It's just sometimes, it would take him a week to get back with me even through email. But I understand they were busy. Other than that, every time I would have my monthly payment come out, I would get a courtesy call the next business day to see if I had any questions. Also, when somebody would reach out to them and accepted the offer for what amount, they would contact me as soon as they would get it. Jeff was always really good when we spoke, all the way up to my last transaction. My payments were just too much for me. One of my credit cards' loan was $500 and what I was paying them was $562 a month. To get all of that off from underneath me was great. I would definitely recommend United Debt Counselors.

    I needed help with credit cards and my wife sort of directed me to United Debt Counselors. When I enrolled, I learned a lot of things that I didn't know about their process, but it seemed to be relatively simple. But when I had questions for the rep that came to my home, he seemed to do the standard protocols, read from a book, and really didn't tell me some direct thoughts and answers. Then one time, there was a scenario where I had to negotiate a debt and I felt like I got thrown to the lions and wouldn't get through one. I thought that they were gonna be helping me negotiate all my debts and it might have been by the law that existed that I had to do it face to face as opposed to them interacting with my creditor, but I wasn't impressed with what happened. And it didn't feel like I had enough information going into that discussion with the creditor about it. But in the end, it worked out.

    Other than that, the payment plan they gave me was based a lot on what I owed and working with United Debt was beneficial to me. They also followed up on a regular basis and every month, I would get a phone call asking if I had any questions. So, at least they tried to do a good job of communicating if I had a question. Most of the time, they didn't have the answer, so I ended up being referred to somebody else and they would just call me about it. But their program did its job, so I was able to consolidate and move on from some of the debts that I had. I would encourage others to be involved with United Debt Counselors.

    I had two large credit card debts that I ended up having to pay IRS some money and it was making it really tight to pay all my bills. I've looked at different companies and I felt most comfortable with talking to United Debt Counselors. I enrolled, called, and they had someone come out and meet me at a local subway and sign paperwork for it. The meet up was brief. United had already explained everything on the phone and we just went over all the paperwork. It’s easy to work with them.

    They went and negotiated with each of the accounts for a lower amount. And then they divided that up and I had to have it all paid up within two years. I paid one account, then after I paid that off, they negotiated, and I paid off the second account. One was 3,000 and the other one was 1,800 and it allowed me to be able to pay everything else and get everything else caught up.

    The monthly payment was very affordable for me. It was worth it. My payment was 153 a month so that just made it much more manageable. And then it knocked out all the interest charges and things I was getting, and the calls and the harassment from the two credit cards. I just finished with them. I made my last payment in September, and I’ve paid up all my credit cards at this point. I went from a 600 credit score and now, I’m up to over 700.

    Also, the debt consultant periodically checked with me. So, in the process, if I had any questions, I could call it in. But basically, United would just check with me, about once every two to three months to see if I had any questions, if anything was going on, if I needed anything, and if I was satisfied with service. They had good communication and they were professional. They also kept in contact with me and sent updates.

    I had credit card problems so I called United Debt Counselor and we made some arrangement. I just paid off the last of the credit cards about two months ago after five years. During the enrollment I called the guy up and he explained to us the situation. I signed up and there was one little glitch there. I didn’t understand the whole process. They collect all their money before they start applying anything to my problem, and I think that ought to change. I got no problem with them collecting their funds but I think a certain percentage, even if it’s a small one, should go towards clearing up the debt as well as getting their fee.

    I dealt with about 3 reps. They seemed to drop by the wayside every so often. I had to get a different one every time. But they seemed to do their job the way they were supposed to. They did their negotiations and I made out okay. They were able to arrange equitable payments. Then as the debt reduced, they were able to negotiate a lower amount to clear up. I was more than satisfied with that. All in all, it was pretty good all the way around. They got me out of a jam that I was in and I was more than pleased with it. It wasn’t cheap but it wasn’t overly expensive either. They got the credit card companies off my back and that was the primary thing.

    My daughter's been getting this debt collector looking letter from this company (already twice in the recent weeks) that is nothing more than basically offering credit settlement service. The problem is that the letter drafted on a pink paper (like the one that the debt collectors use to threaten you) along with all kinds of threatening wording such as "contact our office immediately", "** failure to call **", "will likely result in", "second attempt", "within 10 days", "to avoid unnecessary delays", "entitled to settlements", and so on.

    They even have a reference number on the letter as though there is some sort of case going on. The letter also claims my daughter is in debt for over $37,000 (which she is not at all). NO one is making demand for any immediate payment to my daughter because she doesn't owe anyone anything she can't pay. Therefore, the claim this company is making to my daughter is bogus. To make matters worse, the letter has the wording "RE: Credit settlement" in the area where everyone can see it (including the mailman) to make people think my daughter has a serious credit problem. It is abhorrent where they get this kind of idea that can somehow threaten people to calling them for a credit settlement service using this kind of methods. Isn't this illegal?? If this company doesn't stop sending this kind of ridiculous letter, I am going to turn this into a litigation matter.

    My ex-wife asked me for a divorce. We got eight cards that were run out and I didn't know who was gonna handle all of the debt. She said we’ll see in court, so I had to get somebody to start working on it. I’ve seen the advertisement on TV for United Debt Counselors and I decided to go with them. Their reps didn’t talk to me too much and I didn't hear from them often. I had to ask them how many of our eight cards did they got paid and they told me they got them all taken care of except for Discover because they’re being a hardball player.

    All in all, that means that United Debt settled with the other companies, so I was happy about that. Then, I agreed to a settlement with Discover because the debt consolidators couldn’t and I told them I’d pay them this month per month. I haven’t heard back from them so they must be getting paid and their happy and hopefully, my credit rating starts going back up there pretty shortly. United Debt's service was good and they asked if I had questions. Their program worked for me but they need to get a hold of their customers more often because I didn’t hear from them but every six months and I didn’t know what was going on.

    I got overwhelmed with my bills and I used United Debt for debts and it offered a relief out in everything. They happened to be close by while others were so far away so I went with them. Initially, we didn’t have to pay the bill. And then, when the creditor was calling about my debt, they were nice about it. They could understand the problem. But when they were trying to get in touch with United Debt, they would not comment on anything or tell them what was going on. so the creditors had to call me to find out, “You’ve been paying all this time and all of sudden, no nothing. We just want to know what’s going on because we can offer some help too.” United Debt's program really has not worked for me.

    United Debt didn’t finish up their program. A year later, they called me and asked me if I had any question. I thought that was so very kind of them. I said, “Why are you calling me, asking me that when you told me I have been discontinued from the program.” And that’s when they told me that I still had money there in the account, about $500, and that’s when they told me to close it out and they’d refund my money, and they did. Overall, I would not recommend United Debt Counselors. We got into a hardship and couldn’t get out of it.

    I needed to get rid of my credit card debt and found United Debt Counselors online. Enrolling with them was mostly on the phone, then somebody, who was polite and professional, came to my home to do the affidavit so that was convenient. We came up with how much money they were taking out on a monthly basis that I could work with, then that price was in the paperwork. I had to do a few calls to see if I had any issues and switched debt consultants at least four times. I didn't deal with them until I had enough money to settle. But they were helpful. Angie, the last debt consultant, got the ball rolling to finish the process. She was fantastic and I loved her. She gave me the lowdown and she was upfront and very timed. She tried her best to get the best deal that she could for me, which she did.

    I got refunded about $4,000 because they took out extra payments for almost 10 months but it was a settlement, so I got pinched. I didn't realize that I hadn't finished my payment plan yet as it was not easy to access my account to check my balances. But it's nice to know that it's real and that they actually provide the service because there are a lot out there that are not and it's hard to know who to go with. It was my fault getting into as much trouble as I did but I am now done with everything and it's such a huge relief. United Debt Counselors is reputable, reliable and trustworthy.

    I was being sued then for a debt and I needed counseling. I called one other company and when they answered the phone, the first thing they did was give me an advertisement for something, and I thought, "Nope. Not interested in that company." And when I called United Debt Counselors, they seemed very professional. I had a monthly payment program with them. They said, "This is the amount that we need every month." And they just took it directly from my bank account and we got rid of the debt. For the first six months, I only had a certain person calling to ask if I had any questions or anything. And I had different people after.

    I finished my last payment in January and they have not closed the case. I still get monthly statements from them that says "00" and they call me once a month. I have told them, "There's no money involved anymore. Please close the case." They said okay but nothing happens. Overall, it was an okay experience, nothing overwhelming or underwhelming. I would recommend them.

    I’m good at paying my bills and when I couldn’t get rid of my debt, I reached out to United Debt and I used them. They followed through but I would not do that again or suggest them to others. I felt there was too much out-of-pocket money that I paid but there are so many other things they can do now that I didn’t have to come out with as much. And if I could not afford United Debt’s cost, I could've worked out a deal with the people I owed instead of using the third party which was the whole purpose. It didn’t make any sense to me and United Debt has defeated its purpose in a way. If I was gonna give them the money, I could have been the one who was gonna pay the bill with that.

    I've been with United Debt Counselors for about six years now and it's been a very pleasant experience with them. I had more money going out than I had coming in and this company was recommended to me. The enrollment process for debt consolidation didn't take very long. I called them and they set me up an appointment. I then talked to someone over the phone and all I had to do was supply the company that I owed money to, what the balance was, how much my payments were every month, and how much my income was. And I had just lost my husband, so my income had shrunk more than half.

    The debt counselors handled everything professionally and quickly, which was what I was mainly interested in. They also told me how much the monthly payment was going to be and it was under the amount that I could handle. Then, they set everything up on their own. It was such an easy process and everything was handled to my satisfaction. So far, everything has all been paid for, except for one which I was told that it was taken care of but I found out that it wasn't and that the company doesn't deal with a third party. So, I would have to set up something on my own and pay it off. Other than that, I was happy with the service.

    United Debt Counselors was on TV, I called them and the young lady came. I like the way she spoke and she was very nice. She explained everything about how it worked and what it would do for me if I give it a try. She broke it down and there was nothing to question about it. She told me that if I was not happy about it, I can get off with it. There was nothing out of the ordinary to make me think of it so I tried it and I have no regrets. I stayed all the way with them because they were true to their words. There was nothing phony about them so I was very happy.

    I had a lot of debts and they did one debt at a time. They took a few weeks for it and when they’re finished with that, we started on the next one. Every month they took out and then they start with the next one until everything was finished. They told me if I had any problems or if anybody would call me about my debts, I should let them know and let them handle it. If I receive any letters, I would mail it to them because they told me not to answer any questions and that they would take care of everything.

    United Debt helped me a lot and my counselors kept their words. They did not hide anything and they did everything that they said. They told the truth about everything and if I wasn’t happy, they told me to call them and tell them what my problem is. If they could fix it, they would.     We had another company that was helping us pay off in full a lot of loans that we had overextended. And then our luck changed and we had absorbed four grandkids into our home. That put us in a bind where we didn't have any money, and so somebody put us in touch with United Debt Counselors. United Debt let us know that we didn't have to pay off all of our delinquent loans in full and that they would work with the creditors to try to bargain with them to pay a part of it. There was a lady who met us at the local library to talk to us about it and the enrollment process was easy. Our account went to a man, then it ended up with another lady.

    We gave United Debt all of the debt concerns that we had on our fingertips and they let us know how much minimum we had to pay each month. We rode that over into an automatic payroll and it went really smooth after that. It was decent of them to have stayed in touch with us. They checked in to see if there was anything they could do to help catch us up or clue us in on what was going on and if we had any concern. Every once in a while, we want an update about where we were at, and they had sent us a spreadsheet of what was paid off and what was coming, and they really kept us up-to-date. My wife is an accountant and she was able to share those with me.

    United Debt made it very comfortable for us that we were able to move on with all of our debt and were still able to take care of our grandkids and help them through a lot of development that they needed. We would've been way overextended if we hadn't worked with them. Their service was well worth the time and effort. It saved us probably two-thirds of what we were paying out each month and eventually, we got all the credit paid off. There was one account that they could not find to finish paying off, and we went about six months or so waiting to hear what was the outcome. They never could get the company to finish paying it off so they sent us the money back. Overall, United Debt took care of business for us and it worked out wonderful. Also, I've had people concerned about being overextended and I let them know that United Debt would be the way to go.

    United Debt Counselors was calling me all the time for a long time. They were persistent and they finally got into convincing me. I appreciate their persistence because if they wouldn't have done it, I would still be in the same boat. I am getting too old and I couldn't handle any more debts. I have an illness so I'm forgetting things, and I'm getting too tired going on social security. United Debt is really helpful and they made everything in the enrolment process so easy. They sent somebody home so they could do the paperwork and walked me through everything. It's like my account with them was so personal and so close that they understood my situation.

    I like working with United Debt because I couldn't afford my bills and I would forget a bill was charged on my account because I didn't have enough. I told them my situation and they helped me out how to schedule it. The quality of their service is good because they attended to me. They always call back in case I have a question. If I didn't talk to them, they'd call me right back and they keep in touch with everything. They also call me on a monthly basis to see how I'm doing. They took the monthly payment out of my checking and they adjusted it to something that I can afford. So, I'm happy with them. Now, I'm debt-free and I'm better even with my health being so bad and forgetting things. United Debt is good and they're efficient with a person. They help every step of the way and they still help you even if you're bilingual. I recommend them to people who are close to me and who have the same situation.

    I got overloaded credit cards, and my experience with United Debt Counselors was not good. I was told one thing by one person and then told another thing, something totally different, by another person. They did not communicate. They sometimes would contact me every month, and then sometimes, it'd be two or three months. And each time would be a different person. They supposedly talked to my creditors and got them to lower what I owed. They took the payment out of my checking account, but they kept months and months and months before they even started even paying off the credit cards. Eventually, it got the credit cards paid off and I don't owe as many creditors now. But, the way they did it totally ruined my credit in a way that it will never come back. I would never recommend it to anyone else.

    I got a credit card debt that I couldn't pay down. United Debt Counselors had been calling me, and I never answered them back. But one day, it sounded like a good idea. I got into their debt settlement program and my representative met me at a restaurant, and we went over all the paperwork and I signed the papers there. During the enrollment, I had to write a hardship letter and they told me to quit paying my credit cards and they would tell the credit card people that I'm not paying them anymore. And with money I was paying them, they paid off my credit card with the lowest balance first, and then the next one and the next one, until I got sued by the last one. And then we made an agreement with them, and I actually paid off more than I was planning on paying off out of pocket. But they got rid of all of them. United Debt would call every month to let me know what was going on. I'm done with the process and it worked for me.

    I needed to consolidate a lot of debt that I have and I went with United Debt Counselors. We had used a different company years before and they did not want to consolidate our bills because we would have had to consolidate mine and my husband's. However, I'm just doing my bills 'cause we pay them separately. On the other hand, United Debt Counselors would do that and so I chose to go with them. But the enrollment process was terrible. On the phone part, it was okay. But there were so many pages to go through. To read all that information took forever. And then, I had to meet somebody and sign it in person with that person and go over even more papers and make sure that I knew all the ins and outs about it. That was just annoying.

    When I did a consolidation through the other company, it was very cut and dry and very specific. It was a lot simpler process and very user-friendly. But with United Debt Counselors, it was difficult trying to get in contact with people. I sometimes got a runaround, sometimes they weren't there, and then I get switched to a different person because the other person wasn't there anymore or got transferred to another thing or is not on my account anymore.

    If somebody's working on someone's account, the consultant is supposed to be with that person the whole time. It's good to have that one person to talk to. But that's not how it was with United Debt Counselors. I can't remember how many people I ended up having to work on my accounts. Nevertheless, having a direct communication with them is good. But the online was difficult to maneuver and it wasn't user-friendly either. Also, all the paperwork was terrible. Those are the things I would like them to improve on.

    And the biggest thing about the process was that when I signed the contract, I'm paying my money in, and they're taking that every month and they're gonna pay this much every month and it's gonna go towards these bills. To me, they did not uphold their part of the contract. Whenever United Debt Counselors approaches the creditor that they're paying off, they're supposed to pay a certain amount each month or whatever the stipulations are. Let's say, $1,000 one time, and then $200 a month for the next six months. But they didn't pay anything for four months, which that went against the contract with that company. And that company sent it to a lawyer who took it to court. And I have to go to court over this if United Debt Counselors didn't pay. This happened with one creditor four times, to the point to where their lawyer didn't even wanna talk to me or take my calls.

    Also, this situation messed up my credit even more. My credit went down so low. Every time I go and try to do something, I get the highest percentage now since my credit is so bad. When I consolidated before, I never had my credit rating get down really low. It was ridiculous and stressful. My blood pressure has been bad over this, which affects my relationship with my husband 'cause my credit rating is bad and it affects his credit rating. It was horrible. So, I would never recommend them to anybody. I would tell others to search around for a better company and that I would not deal with them.

    I was trying to pay off my credit card and then I got a letter in the mail from United Debt Counselors.     My bills were getting higher than what I could pay and I was trying to get them down. I got into debt consolidation with United Debt Counselors and the enrollment process went okay. I didn't ask questions 'cause I didn't fully understand everything. I was trying to get my payments down so I could pay them and try to have a little relief. Their representative was really informative and she was with me all the time. But she would turn me over to some others and it was a while before they got in touch with me.

    At first the payment plan was reasonable, but then I was paying almost as much as I was paying out to start with. But I kept on doing it because I was interested in trying to get it stopped. United Debt Counselors wound up not negotiating with SEARS enough and I had to go to court for that. After I got in with the lawyers, I had to get back with UDC two or three times, but I had so many days to get that into the court and they were supposed to be representing me, and I wasn’t getting any result. Some way or another it didn’t get in there, so I wound up paying SEARS a lot more than I owed them.

    I was in a position where I needed assistance and the services of United Debt Counselors sounded appealing. It was the first time I attempted to seek assistance and when I spoke to the person on the phone, that rep was helpful. Also, the enrollment went well. The reps tried to contact me once a month. However, it wasn't until the very end when I felt they had a lot of difficulties trying to wrap up my last account. I couldn't get anyone to respond to me with the reports that I wanted to find out the status of the last accounts that we did. The last three debts that were owed ended up in some kind of a collection portfolio. So, I was left having to do the last three debts on my own.

    Even to this day, I don’t have anything that says I have completed. I thought I have graduated. Based on the conversation with the last representative I worked with, his name was Sonny, I had already completed the part that United Debt was gonna help me with. I asked for a letter stating that and it was odd because about a couple of months ago, I had a call asking they wanted to find out if I had any questions about the program. I told them that as far as I knew, I was out of the program. I want the record to show that I paid for the service but I ended up negotiating the last three of my debts. There was nothing United Debt could do. They were done with me. Working with United Debt was very awkward.

    I heard about United Debt Counselors via word of mouth. It wasn't long before I got in touch with them and they sent a representative to my home. I enrolled immediately and began making monthly payments. That's all you have to do, is keep up with your payments. The three years went by fast and before I knew, my payments were done. What I liked about this company is that I would receive a phone call every month. The representative would ask if I had any questions about the process. I never did. I just kept making the payments. Now, I'm free of credit card debt. If I can do it, so can you. You'll want to use United Debt Counselors. They take care of everything. They stopped the unwanted phone calls I was getting from one of my creditors. If you know anyone having problems with credit card debt, send them here and they will be debt free after completing the program.

Nevertheless, they kept me informed, and said they kept on trying to negotiate. The people that I talked with were really nice and I understood everything that they were talking about.     I was very pleased with United Debt Counselors. My counselor took care of things, called me once in a while and asked me if there were any questions that I wanted to ask or if I wanted to find out what was going on. The program relieved me from having to pay a bill that I had run up and since I only live on a fixed income, I couldn’t make the payment. He called one day and said that Chase Bank had given them the okay to collect some debts and wondered if I was interested.

    One of the debts never got settled because the collector waited too long to settle it. We kept waiting for them to turn it over to somebody else, do something, or call me and let me know what they're going to do and they never did. And finally, my counselor called me and said, “Well, I got good news for you. In the state of Louisiana, their time has run out to collect that debt.” So, he told me to call the collector, and I did, and I asked them what they were gonna do and she said, “Oh, lord. We just let that run out. So, I don't know why we overlooked it." And then she wanted me to send my name and telephone number to her which I didn’t because I knew she’d just gonna be calling me. And my counselor sent me back my check with the money that was sitting there to pay them.

The counselors were pleasant. They followed up every month to check and see if everything was going okay. I'm finished with the program and it worked well for me. It gave me an extra $400 a month.

    I was looking for bumps in the road but the process at United Debt Counselors was uncomfortably smooth. They said not to worry about going to look for a notary and sent a notary to my house. I had to speak with my counselor and it was a gentleman. He really broke it down and made it simple. And because I want to rush, he goes, "No. Stay with the program. Stay with how we've got it set up and everything is gonna be taken care of." And what he said happened. I was like, "Wow." I was hoping I did this earlier, but shame on me. The lesson I learned is that I'll never go back into credit card debt again and I would share my story with friends that if you get into a spot, United Debt Counselors is the way to go and they'll work it out with you. The program is already done. I'm going to the bank to pay my last debt and this week I will be 100% debt-free.

    When United Debt made a solicitation type call, I listened and although I didn't know if I would make a commitment, I thought they were very professional. But it wasn't just over the phone. We set up an appointment and had a face-to-face meeting. They had literature for me to study and digest. For the enrollment, they gave me forms to fill out to notify the companies that I couldn’t pay the bills and once we got all the payment set up, it was up to the checking account every month.

    I could also call the bank that retained our money in escrow for information anytime I wanted or call United Debt and talk to the person who represented me. The consultant I dealt with was very courteous and professional. And if he wasn’t there, I could talk to somebody else and they would get right back to me. I might have had to leave a message but they didn't wait a week to call me back. The program took a big load off and I have completed it. United Debt Counselors was excellent and I have recommended them to friends.

    United Debt Counselors called me and after I talked to them, I decided that I needed to consolidate. The enrolment was fine and we set up a monthly payment. It was that simple. They were then able to consolidate my bills and got me to get rid of my credit cards sooner than I would have normally paid them off. However, when I thought everything was paid off, it ended up costing me five more payments so I can get everything finalized. And in the contract, we were supposed to have been done in 27 months but it went on longer. They told me that the last card wouldn't settle for the percentage they normally settle for.

    United Debt Counselors was a lot cheaper and better than what I had before where I was paying double. I got United Debt's $40 package and the service was great. Everything was good as far as the interactions with the debt consultants and they explained the program pretty good. I had to go to Apple for my GPS ad though because United Debt couldn’t help me with that, But my overall experience with United Debt Counselors was awesome.

    I enrolled with United Debt Counselors over the phone, and we agreed upon a certain amount per month to pay off the credit cards in a period of time. The debt consultant called to see if I had any questions at least once a month, which was fine. The only thing that I was dissatisfied was the raising of my premium on the end. We agreed upon a certain amount and then long toward the end, I had to come up with a couple hundred dollars a month more for a short period of time. But, that’s all right, it’s over with. The program has been completed.
