    They allow you to open an account in seconds, but as soon as you want to take your money out they want you to transmit all your personal data, IDs, pictures, etc. so that they can let hackers have your personal information. They claim they "need" it. Then why is it not required to open the account? In reality one day they will get hacked and all your personal data will be available to others because no company is 100% un-hackable. So they refuse to return my $70....That's right, they are ripping me off for a mere $70 because they figure there is nothing I can do about it. They rip off senior citizens like me probably every day.

    Compared to Schwab & TOS RH is very primitive. They are IPO underwriters, my daughter opened an account just to trade those, she made a lot of money. I opened an account just to do that. So far there haven't been any more. I couldn't find charts, and eventually found a support chat. I asked for a call back. 20 minutes later a woman called back who barely spoke English. She had no idea what a chart was. I asked to be escalated, she said it would take 24-48 hours ! I said I'm closing my account , can you understand that! Eventually she transferred me to a real registered broker who spoke English. She showed me the charts but they are primitive. To transfer money, I can't use an ACH started from my bank. I have to do wire. To get a broker from the support chat, she said say transfer and that will connect me. RH stock keeps going up & I'm making money from it, but I don't plan to transfer any accounts.

    I wish we could go down to 0 stars. The platform is slow, you're at a disadvantage using it, and they sell your data. The only thing it has going for it is a decent UI but the company itself is terrible and corrupt.

    Robinhood is one of the worst platform out there. I'm trying to withdraw my funds and they locked my account. I only can deposit more but I can't withdraw nor use it to trade. Their excuses is that there is a restriction on the account and might take a few days for reviewing but you can deposit, no withdraw.

    Robinhood is very biased when providing various offerings. They are discriminatory in they practices. When they have a new offering they only approve certain clients. For instance, the Robinhood credit card has a waitlist but certain members who have been on the waitlist for a year and are even GOLD members do not get approved, yet members who are not gold and never on the waitlist get approved and received the card immediately. There are many instances where this has happened for Gold members.

    Robinhood provides equally abysmal customer support, whether you choose chat or phone calls. Their personnel are robots, reading PAT responses and not listening to your questions. Zero empathy. I needed to wire transfer funds to pay off my mortgage. You cannot do that as a Robinhood customer. You can only transfer funds to other account units you personally own. Forget paying off loans. Forget sending funds to another person. Go to Fidelity!

    Robinhood has terrible customer support, I have a different phone now, the other has a smashed screen. When logging in on new device into the website or app, it offers 3 paltry options when you click the; I need help button. It offers; I forgot my password, I forgot my email, I need access to someone else's account. Can you imagine that in this complicated world there are more than 3 options needed!!?? Also no phone number is found on the website for customer service or support? What is that about? I can't recommend to friends or anyone.

    I have NEVER experienced a Company that you have to fight/argue with to get your money sent to you. I use a laptop. I do not have Robinhood on my cell phone - I have spent hours and more hours plus a overwhelming amount of hours on emails back and forth - with so far over 10 ten people. You can ask for a call back and then will say 1 minute - yet you wait over two hours, then wait all day and no call ever comes through. You finally get someone that finally calls and you send them what they ask for - and then when you ask for the money with the return call - you are told your ID never was received - yet the person you spoke to on the PHONE confirmed they received it and asked that you call back after Monday - I called on Wednesday - this is the MOST frustrating COMPANY in my 72 years of living.

    What is the need to have to respond back to 10 plus people - every time you get a email its from a new person - you send your GOV ID's - with your mailing address - Yet they say it doesn't match their records - you want to make sure they DON'T MAIL YOU A check to a house with NO MAILBOX - because then they would have another excuse to the reason why you never received your money. You provide all the information they want - yet you get more emails stating they want more information. I even said I would go to their office and pick up the check and show all my ID in person. But, never did anyone advise me I could pick up the check - they let it go over their head as though you never said a word. I am trying to buy a property and need my money - not next month or next year - but now. I sold all my stocks and want my money - how and who do I contact to get what is legally mine? I need help with this horrible and unethical company.

    It’s been 3 weeks now that I received a notification from Robinhood indicating that my account had been restricted due to recent account activity. The notice requested that I submit a bank statement to verify my account. Upon reviewing my account details, I realized that my brother’s bank account was inadvertently linked to my Robinhood account. I now understand that this contravenes Robinhood’s account funding policies, and I sincerely apologize for this oversight.

    Actions Taken:
    • I promptly contacted Robinhood’s customer support via email, acknowledging the error and expressing my willingness to rectify the situation.
    • I offered to link a bank account solely under my name and to provide any necessary documentation to verify my identity and ownership.

    • Robinhood responded, stating they would get back to me soon. However, instead of further communication, I was notified that my account had been closed.

    Concerns:
    • The lack of transparent communication and the sudden closure of my account without the opportunity to resolve the issue is deeply concerning.
    • Robinhood’s customer support lacks a direct line of communication, making it impossible to speak with a support agent to address urgent matters.

    • I am currently in vacation outside the U.S. and the closure of my account has restricted my access to funds and investments, causing significant inconvenience and financial uncertainty.

    I have submitted this complaint to the CFPB in hopes of facilitating a resolution. I am also aware of similar issues faced by other consumers, as reported in various forums and complaint databases. For instance, other users have reported account closures following misunderstandings related to linked bank accounts, leading them to file complaints with the CFPB as well.

    Robinhood stole $23000 from me by not honoring their security guarantees. In one day several unauthorized transactions were done with someone hacking my account and purchasing event contracts. Then there was no money left. When I got on my account later that night reported it and have gotten the run around ever since. One the phone with multiple agents transferring me each time so I have to add start over each time. In end I get an email saying no fraud was seen on your account but we do value you business. Robinhood also got commissions for each of the unauthorized transactions some of them up to $200. Stay away from this place.

    Stay away of Robinhood, orders would not execute on time resulting on losses because of constant glitches in their system. I lost 20k, contacted customer service and Robinhood kept giving me pointless excuses. At first, their team said that it was fixed and then the opposite, please stay away of Robinhood.

    I am writing Robinhood to formally demand an immediate explanation and resolution regarding the ongoing and unlawful actions taken against my account, including the arbitrary and unexplained restrictions on my ability to transfer cryptocurrency to my personal wallet, the unauthorized liquidation of my legally purchased XRP cryptocurrency, and the 120 day withholding of my $100k funds.

    Summary of Facts: I legally purchased XRP cryptocurrency through your platform and, at no point, did I engage in any activity that would raise suspicions of fraud or misconduct. Despite this, I repeatedly encountered restrictions on transferring my cryptocurrency, with absolutely no explanation provided for why these restrictions were being applied. On several occasions, I attempted to raise my transfer limit to withdraw my assets and transfer them to my personal wallet, only to be refused & continually restricted without any valid reason or justification.

    Each time I requested an increase in my transfer limit, I was met with silence or a refusal, and the restrictions remained in place. It became apparent that Robinhood was preventing me from transferring my assets to my personal wallet, though I had every legal right to do so with my own cryptocurrency. Eventually, without permission, Robinhood liquidated my XRP holdings. At no point was I consulted for my consent before such action was taken. Thus forcing a $15,000 loss was incurred on my account.

    There was no indication or explanation provided for this liquidation, and I was left unaware of why my account was restricted or why my assets were forcibly sold. It is important to emphasize that at no point was there any indication of fraud or suspicious activity on my part. The sole action I took was attempting to transfer my own cryptocurrency to my own personal wallet, and Robinhood repeatedly denied this request without explanation.

    It is evident that Robinhood’s restrictive & deceptive actions are far from isolated, as countless online reviews and user complaints reflect similar experiences. Many users, like myself, have reported being unable to withdraw their funds, being restricted from transferring cryptocurrency, or having assets illegally held without cause & liquidated without notice. The pattern of conduct is clear: Robinhood is systematically preventing users from taking ownership of their legally purchased assets & accessing their own funds, which is unacceptable.

    One of the most egregious actions taken by Robinhood is the 120-day hold on my funds. Withholding my own money for such an extended period is both unreasonable and illegal under California law. This extended delay, without any legitimate reason or explanation, serves no other purpose than to punish me, tie up my assets, and keep my funds on Robinhood’s platform for their own financial benefit.

    The prolonged withholding is a clear violation of my rights as a consumer, as there is no valid regulatory or legal reason to keep my funds for such an extended period. It is well-known that Robinhood has a financial incentive to keep assets on its platform, as this allows them to inflate their reported holdings and leverage those assets for their own business publicly traded stock interests. If all customers transferred their cryptocurrency off the site to their personal wallets, Robinhood’s reported assets would be significantly lower. This creates a direct financial conflict of interest, where Robinhood has an incentive to prevent crypto withdrawals and delay access to funds in order to appear more solvent and retain more assets on their books.

    This conduct is not just ethically questionable, but also harmful to consumers and constitutes a form of financial manipulation designed to serve Robinhood’s own interests at the expense of its users. Robinhood's continued violations of California law, specifically those covered under the California Commodities Law (CCL) and the California Corporate Securities Law of 1968 (CSL). Despite prior regulatory actions and settlements with the California Department of Justice and the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), Robinhood continues to engage in unlawful practices by withholding my cryptocurrency & cash assets and preventing their withdrawal. Your prior violations, which resulted in financial penalties and mandated compliance changes, were directly tied to these very issues:

    Legal Violations: Robinhood’s actions are in violation of several California laws, including but not limited to:

    1. Violations of the California Commodities Law (CCL)

    • California Corporations Code § 29520 & § 29505: Robinhood Crypto LLC has already been found in violation of these statutes for preventing customers from withdrawing cryptocurrency, effectively restricting the “actual physical delivery” of assets. Your failure to rectify this issue and continued restrictions on withdrawals suggest an ongoing breach of these legal requirements.

    2. Violations of the California Corporate Securities Law of 1968 (CSL)

    • California Corporations Code § 25218 & California Code of Regulations, Title 10, § 260.218.4: These provisions require that broker-dealers establish and maintain adequate oversight of their trading technology and customer transactions. Robinhood Financial LLC’s failure to deliver customers full control over their crypto holdings and its lack of transparency about how these assets are held and accounted for further constitute violations of these laws.

    3. Unfair Competition Law (UCL) – California Business & Professions Code § 17200

    • Your refusal to allow cryptocurrency transfers, your arbitrary restrictions—without providing an explanation or justification—and the illegal withholding of funds for an extended period of time, constitute unfair and unlawful business practices.

    4. Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) – California Civil Code § 1750 et seq.

    • By failing to disclose why my account was restricted or why the transfer limit was not raised, by liquidating my assets without permission or explanation, and by withholding my funds for 120 days, Robinhood has engaged in deceptive and harmful business practices.

    5. California Financial Code § 21202

    • As a money transmitter and financial services provider, Robinhood is obligated to act in good faith. The refusal to allow access to my funds, the unauthorized liquidation of my assets, and the illegal withholding of my money breach this duty.

    6. Breach of Contract and Fiduciary Duty

    • Robinhood’s failure to adhere to your own user agreement, which allows for the transfer of assets to personal wallets, and the unilateral liquidation of my assets, constitutes a breach of contract and fiduciary duty.

    Demand for Immediate Action: I hereby demand that Robinhood:

    1. Immediately release all withheld funds and provide a full account of why my account was restricted, my transfer limit was not increased, and my XRP holdings were liquidated without my consent.
    2. Provide a written explanation for why these actions were taken, including the specific legal and contractual basis for the restrictions, liquidation, and illegal withholding of funds.
    3. Cease and desist from further arbitrary restrictions, the illegal withholding of funds, or liquidation of my assets without proper explanation or valid legal basis.

    4. Compensate me for any financial losses incurred as a result of the unauthorized liquidation of my XRP holdings, the prolonged withholding of my funds, and the harm caused by Robinhood’s unlawful practices.

    These ongoing violations are not only unlawful but also demonstrate that Robinhood is not in compliance with its prior settlement agreements. Customers, including myself, are being directly harmed by these actions. I demand immediate action to allow full and unrestricted access to my cryptocurrency holdings, as required by California law. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate this issue to the relevant regulatory authorities, including the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the California Attorney General’s Office.

    Terms of the Agreement: Under the terms of the settlement, Robinhood will:
    • Pay a $3.9 million penalty to the California Department of Justice.
    • Enable customers to withdraw cryptocurrencies to their own wallets.
    • Revise and clarify its trading, order handling, and custody practices.

    • Ensure accurate representation and adherence to these standards going forward.

    These terms aim to rectify past issues and prevent future discrepancies in Robinhood’s crypto operations.

    Impossible to get your funds out. This is scam. I have over one month tried to transfer my assets, and we keep going round circles. They are l am sure based in India as everyone l have spoken to has an ** accent and they are very unprofessional. They will tell you we are going to transfer you to the department where transfers are done, and you can be on the phone for over 2 hrs. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Scam with RED letters.

    Attempted to join based on a very fiscally conservative colleague who is an active member doing well with her investments. Application message "Your application is being reviewed manually" for days after applying and submitting personal and banking info. Colleague stated this should not take this long so I reached out to Helpdesk - which took a while to find, not intuitive had to dig to find. Chat could not answer my specific question, too many flags, requested to cancel account. Chat rep stated cancellation is now "in progress", that I would receive an email when complete, then transferred chat to email so I could have a record. I did get the email which is somewhat comforting.

    What is truly disappointing is the fact that the enrollment process seems sketchy. After requiring someone's picture ID, and banking information, not understanding the manual review process, taking longer than expected to process, the potential for requiring additional documentation, and helpdesk unable to answer a simple question seems rather suspicious given all the warnings about identity theft. This entire process could be handled better. I unlinked my account and will be notifying my financial institution of my concerns, make some changes and continue monitoring for any suspicious activity on my account. Lesson learned!

    Updated on 03/26/2025: This is an update to a review of Robinhood that I posted on March 6 2025. In early March 2025 I transferred crypto from one exchange to Robinhood. The other exchange confirmed the transfer was successful but it never showed up in my Robinhood account. Initially Robinhood denied receiving the transfer but once they were confronted with the evidence of the successful transfer they “re-investigated“ and determined that they had in fact received the transfer and were in possession of my crypto. They advised that the crypto had been placed into another wallet that they control, but not to worry because my crypto was safe(?). I have since filed a complaint with the SEC (I have little hope of that working). The bottom line is that Robinhood has my crypto, admits they have my crypto but will not credit my account with it. Ripoff!!

    Original Review: Beware! I attempted to transfer crypto from one exchange to Robinhood. Although the transfer was successful, they lost it. I provided everything to Robinhood that would be required to track the transfer but they claim they cannot find it.

    Virtual scam and fraudulent. Easy to deposit but they make it impossible to withdraw any money. Was less than $100 and they kept asking for ID, photos. I had done it FOUR times and all agents Michael, Juliana, Laurel - not sure if they are Virtual too - has the same answer of no resolution. I'm spending more than 4 hours and they don't gave any phone or email to talk directly to human.

    Customers service person spoke very poor English and did not know anything about any financial transfer using the Robinhood platform. In addition they are rude and disconnect you very quick if you ask for supervisor. They quickly lock your account so you can not withdraw your money and refuse to guide you or give you reasons why they locked your account. It can take over 3 week and several email because there is not a person to talk to in order to get your money back.

    They are impossible to contact if something goes wrong. I had $3000 stolen out of my crypto account. They did nothing to help me. Now I'm afraid to take the rest of my money out of my account.     The site is very difficult to use and not user friendly. Very difficult to find documents pertaining to profit and loss and purchase prices etc, Also I recently cleared all my positions and removed all funds except $0.35 waiting to move money and stocks from another account in. In the time of about 3 weeks I can no longer log in. Easy access to support to resolve this is difficult. So bottom line is, It looks like they closed my account without notice or my authorization and stole my $0.35. Since they are such a poorly run site they can keep the $0.35 and I will post my reviews of them. I will never use this shady site again. AVOID THE ROBINHOOD BROKERAGE SITE!

    I came across this site in September, I should have known it was another ponzi scheme, after my first deposit I was given 0.0001 ltc and it became impossible to withdraw. I eventually lost over $75k USD which I shared with ** after they became unresponsive before I got a solution. There are other victims and I imagine many haven't spoken up yet, so be careful guys and speak out if you have been affected.

    Robinhood flagged me as a pattern day trader. I contacted them via chat. It turned out my money was in a margin account. They moved my money in the margin account at their will without my consent and without letting me know about it. Customer service is terrible. The representative (Patrick) closed the chat without asking me if I was done with my questions.

    RobinHood will steal all your money! Dealing with RobinHood has been a nightmare. Nearly a month ago, Robinhood froze my account after I made a large deposit and purchases. I may not sell anything, but I am permitted to deposit and buy as much as I want. I don’t want anything except to get my money away from these crooks! If you are currently a client of Robin Hood and you still have access to your account count your blessings and get your money out ASAP!

    The customer service is laughable, worse than nonexistent. You will be told you’ll get a phone call in half an hour And if you do get a phone call, they will talk your ear off, have you validate every transaction you’ve ever made, take at least 20 minutes of your time then hang up with a promise that your case has been resolved. Your case has not been resolved. There has been no change in the case. You get back in line for another phone call. It doesn’t come. Three weeks passed it doesn’t come. You complain over and over and over. You never get a call. You don’t get anything from them that can move your case forward.

    Eventually, like hundreds of others, all your money will be gone. Robin Hood will close your account, and keep your money. They are crooks. There is nothing good to say about them. Get out now! If you don’t believe me do a little more research. But since you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re either almost in trouble with them or you’re smarter than me and did your research before hand.     Robinhood is severely limiting my ability to legitimately and rightfully transfer crypto which I recently deposited with them. They give boilerplate, scripted responses with no evidence to support their sweeping statements that they're doing this "based on a number of factors related to [my] account" or that it is for my "security protection." Horse hooey!

    This is a clown show in three acts. It is impossible to effectively communicate with them once you set up an account. Any attempt to communicate with them results in a senseless robo-response. I tried for three weeks to set up my account as "joint" after the initial setup as "individual" (their requirement). After three weeks, I then gave up and attempted to close my account. It has been over four weeks and they still come up with one robo-message after another with excuses as to why they can't close my account. They have my money and will not give it back. Now they are starting to charge me fees! STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLOWNS.

    They are SCAMMERS!!! THEY WILL NOT RETURN MONEY! Same story as everyone else... My account is "restricted" for no reason. It has been weeks and they will not give me access to my money and they have no live communication in any way. I cannot speak to anyone and am just in a queue for a call back for weeks. They intentionally do this. I looked online about Robinhood and how they are scamming so many others with similar stories. People are not getting their money back and there are countless complaints. Look up all the complaints all over the internet, including on their app reviews. Some of the reviews are so horrible including a 17 year old committing suicide. Robinhood is committing THEFT! I have filed SEC and FINRA complaints against this company. Robinhood should be permanently shut down and the owners should go to jail!

    This whole week was such a nightmare for me. I was trying to withdraw a little bit of money from my Robinhood account that I earned from crypto, which I deposited so much to earn. And I ended up not being able to go through with verifying my identity, and it kept blocking my actions. I was trying to get on hold with customer support, and there is no way—absolutely no way—to find someone that replies to you right away. I didn’t give up. I kept chatting with that customer support chat box for days. Finally, somebody responded—luckily—because I was about to give up. I didn’t give up, and I’m happy that I didn’t because I was so close to saying bye-bye to my little tiny amount of money.

    But this is such a shame, and this is such a horrible experience with such a big platform where people are holding millions of dollars, I believe. Shame on you, Robinhood, for stressing me out this whole week. I couldn’t reach my money, even though I have all sorts of access—I have the app, I’m going through a facial scan, and I’m using my password to get into my account—and still, I couldn’t withdraw my money.

    I appreciate that you try to keep things safe, but not having anyone available to help in such a situation is a horrible, huge concern. Shame on you again, Robinhood. My whole week was totally stressful, and I was extremely concerned that I couldn’t get my money. Thank God I didn’t give up. Thank God I kept talking to myself on that stupid chat box, and finally, somebody responded. Again, for such a huge platform: horrible, horrible, horrible. I’m moving all my accounts to Coinbase.

    Robin Hood is the worst and most difficult company I’ve ever dealt with. I opened an account a month ago and I made a few trades and then I wanted to close the account because I didn’t find it very useful and they won’t let me close the account. They froze the account And won’t let me withdraw the remaining funds and there is nobody available to speak with. The customer service is nonexistent. They haven’t AI customer service that never gets you to a human. And I mean never. I’ve been in the queue for 12 days now.

    I have tried for over a year to cancel my Account w/ Robinhood, I have asked Tech Support for help multiple times (over and over again) NOTHING NO HELP, then some vague answer. I finally was able to get into the Account to "Try" to cancel/Sell, it has been a nightmare, run around. When you get on live chat you sit there for HOURS. I literally had someone respond to my questions at 3:15 a.m. asking if I was STILL connected! REALLY! Still no resolution or deposit into my Account, I have no idea when/what/where.

    I would use any app other than Robinhood. It's impossible to reach the support team so if you have a problem you're on your own. I had a banking issue and couldn't reach anyone so they just sold my stocks without even contacting me.

    I’ve been a Robinhood user for some time, but my recent experience with their customer support has been extremely disappointing. I accidentally activated a Robinhood Gold subscription on December 12th and canceled it immediately upon realizing the mistake. Despite reaching out to their support right away, I have now waited over 5 days without a meaningful resolution.

    The response I finally received came at 5:00 AM on a Saturday—a time when I, like most users, was unavailable to reply—and it was a generic, canned message that clearly did not address my specific concerns. Since then, I’ve been met with radio silence and no escalation of the issue. It’s incredibly frustrating to feel unheard, especially over something as straightforward as a refund for an unused, accidental subscription. Robinhood needs to prioritize its customer support and address these situations more promptly. Until they improve, I would caution others to consider the risks of relying on a platform where resolving simple issues becomes such a headache.

    I have been waiting 4 weeks for RH to reactivate my daughter's account. No replies to her emails or my emails (I have an active account). No help from an X post in the help channel. No help from chat. They simply do not pick up the chat. I had one chat open for 24 hours to just test if they would eventually pick up. The one agent I have spoken to said they can't reactivate it and it has been passed to a review team. What is the delay? 4 weeks. Unacceptable. Horrible experience for my daughter.

    I opened a new account in Robinhood last week, 12/24, thinking it was better than Schwab, was I ever wrong, here's why; 1). There is NO phone support - not sure how this is possible but true. 2). I've been waiting 30 minutes for an online chat agent to pick up my request. 3). I transferred stock over from Schwab and they screwed that up not according to my selection process, I even have stocks registered on both platforms now? 4). Phone numbers listed online are either out of order or fake. 5). Their website is totally messed up, there is NO main screen where I can see all of my holdings, even their new "Legend" screen sucks for that.

    I will close my account asap!

    Beware, Robinhood will be more than happy with you opening an account and taking your money to invest. But even when having a linked bank account, they will make it so difficult to cash your money out. It feels like an illegal operation. Holding your money as long as they can so they can profit on the interest. Do not expect Robinhood's customer service to help you. Customer service is horrible and takes days for a response.

    This app is terrible. I tried to transfer my funds, and it requested I upload an ID. I uploaded my ID numerous times. The app kept telling me it could not verify my identity. So, I tried the virtual assistant to get help. It could not help. I asked for a live agent. AND THEY DO NOT HAVE LIVE AGENTS! If they do have a live agent, who can wait for over an hour to speak with someone!!! So stupid. I hate this company. My money is just hijacked for who knows how long by this stupid company. Terrible experience. Do not put money in this app! You will have an incredible amount of trouble trying to get it out! So dumb! You are a billion-dollar company that will not provide customer service to your customers? Greedy stupid company. You have that much money and use it to piss off your customers. Great! job.

    I lost my phone, I saw the light disappear into the depths of the sea. No big deal, I have a spare. So I go to downloading apps for my new phone and I hit a snag when I got to Robinhood, they ask for all my credentials and a photo of my license, said they would send me an email to reset, problem is you never get the email, lost count how many times I tried, but enough to now cut me out completely, the number they give is disconnected 6057617789, if I ever get my money out I wouldn't go back in until this service is upgraded.     Customer service takes days to return calls about login problems. Supposedly, they can not change access information on an account and so accounts can become lost easily. Gladly, I had not funded the account yet. Those funds would be long gone. This could be the means this site covers its costs.

    Robinhood are thieves and take you right to sell the option contracts you buy and own away from you. If you buy contracts you are knowingly taking on the risk of them expiring. Worthless but when they take and sell them without your permission that is theft. They have done it to me today and cost me and I lost out on over 800 in profits because of it.     Robinhood is the worst platform I have ever tried to use. They do not tell you that they do not accept Business debit card (of course I own the business) until you have transferred your assets from a competitor and then try to get account verification. 3 days go by with absolutely Terrible customer service contact and then I had to go online chat group to discover the above issue. You would think that info would be clarified when RH ask for account info. When I tell them I do not have a personal debit card they offer to close my account and send my assets back to Charles Schwab….for 100$ fee. Now I see how they make money!

    Junk company that certainly deserves all the bad reviews I have since discovered.. My account is still in limbo with no customer support.. Several thousand dollars tied up with no account to attach to.. After the weekend I have to go start up another bank account or let them rip me off for 100$. It cost me 50$ to transfer from Schwab… I have used this card for 16 years.. I’ll also sell my hood stock Monday as I I’ve waited 3 years to try to break even from the ipo price… This company is a mega Joke!!!

    My phone was stolen. They accessed my phone password and my Robinhood password. They initiated a $15,000 wire transfer. Robinhood allowed the transfer to take place without a hold. I notified them within 10 hours of the fraud. They are not refunding me my money. My stocks were automatically sold to cover this unauthorized transaction. In addition the thieves bought $5k in bitcoin and transferred it. Robinhood has refused to take any responsibility for these unauthorized transactions. Robinhood does not value its customers and offers no safety for your money. They are a horrible company and would not put my money in their hands. Very irresponsible.

    A total scamming app. When you get in a trade, the stock/Bitcoin prices is inaccurate, plus you will pay fees plus fees. Stay AWAY. I bought Bitcoin at 67k and it displayed that I bought at 68k. When I called their customer service, they said this is total normal. Keep in mind this doesn’t happen on other platforms. I immediately sold everything, and guess what? I can’t even take my entire amount out, because there’s a fee to deposit back to your bank, so they are making me wait or take double fees. This is incredible. If you don’t want to be scammed, please stay away.

    The one thing no one mentions is their lack of handling beneficiaries. You can’t add a minor and you can’t add a trust as a beneficiary. Anyone with any financial sense wants to setup their account with a trust as a beneficiary. Robinhood is trying to give you incentives to dump all of your money into their account but you have no protection if you die. If you notice professional brokers rate Robinhood high probably because they are getting rewarded. As you can see consumers rate them poorly.

    My father passed away 5/12/24, I contacted Robinhood on 6//23/24 to inform them of his death. I am the executor of his estate and provided them with all documents they requested (death certificate, letter of administration, father's social security number, Robinhood account number, my drivers license, and the liquid authorization form so Check can be mailed to me). I have sent this information multiple times and have yet to receive anything. The account is closed but they will not release the money.

    I have received emails stating they are going to close the case because they are waiting on these documents I have provided them multiple times and have used the link they provided to upload documents. My last email was 9/26 and still nothing!! I have tried calling, and used the chat box but nothing, they have closed this account and kept thousands of dollars of my father's money and they will not contact me to resolve this situation, I would never invest my money in this company, this can’t possibly be legal!!

    I have tried to create a new IRA transfer and nothing was working. I have tried to resolve the issue and it is super difficult to get any people to come on the phone. In my case, I have been transferred to 3 different departments. I have been on the call for over 1. 1/2 Hour and no resolution. Each transfer takes over 30 minutes. This is ridiculous.

    I wish I would have come here first BEFORE opening an account with this company. Stay away - these folks RESTRICT your access to your money unnecessarily. They swiped money out of my checking acct which means I should have had instant access to trade with it, yet they held it for 5 days. This is called playing the float - if they do this with millions of dollars - they get the interest on the money they RESTRICT everyone from using, which is ridiculous. I am filing an SEC complaint against this company. When I called to have my existing balance sent back to me they gave me this cock and bull story about a 5 day review.     I am writing this review to warn anyone considering using Robinhood: Think twice! They are a company that does not prioritize customer service or understanding. I recently attempted to access my account after being released from prison. My only valid form of ID is a state-issued prison ID, which Robinhood refused to accept. Despite my ability to provide specific details proving my identity and access to the email used for account creation, they insisted on a traditional state ID. This left me unable to access my own funds and potentially earn money I would have otherwise.

    Robinhood’s strict policies and unwillingness to consider alternative forms of ID demonstrate a lack of empathy and concern for customers, especially those in vulnerable situations. I feel completely disregarded as a paying customer. I will be switching to a more reliable and understanding platform as soon as I obtain a standard state-issued ID.     I've started selling my stock and now all of a sudden there's suspicious activity going on in my account. And it's taking over a month and it's still not corrected. I've sent them my passport ID but I can send the banking info that's tied to that credit card because my bank switched system. I'm sorry I'm waiting 10 days for my bank to send me a statement through the mail because they say they can't send it to my email. In the meantime my wife and son lights are about to be shut off. It shouldn't take almost a month to resolve this. When my account is at zero I'll have to find another platform to deal with stock on.

    I had an ugly experience with Robinhood support trying to unlock my account. It was basically locked over a fraudulent charge of $145 that I complained about. All efforts to verify my account and retrieve my funds was futile. Not until I involved the Instagram famous crypto wallet investigation team named Forex Fraud Team before things took a better turn. FFT took the case up to federal levels in conjunction with my attorney. My account and assets were finally released on 28/09/2024 after 3 months hold. I won’t be doing business with this company ever again. Not after my experience which was not taken care of by Robinhood security team. Had to hire private help.

    I went on my app to change my address. I’m building a house and living with in-laws for 6-7 months. My in-laws address when entered says it’s unable to be confirmed as residential. My only option is to contact Robinhood support. In order for them to even consider my request and help me, I have to jump through 5-6 different hoops providing all these different statements and documents of where I’m living…. I can trade 1,000$ worth of stocks right now but not update my address. It’s absolutely unacceptable. I shouldn’t even have to contact them to update it. I’ve talked to two different representatives in which neither would help…. How do you trust them with your money if you can’t even update your address to reflect your current living status.

    I am a 65 year old Vet, Who had no business being here and was scam by a friend to buy BTC Bitcoin Crypto. And in doing so my money is being restricted from 7/18/2024, to the present time. I've been through several phone talks support techs, and I get emails, repeatedly that my account is restricted. I am a beginner and have Zero knowledge on buying or selling Stocks, Trading, After doing some of my own research and trying to talk to my friend and ask, what is going on here help set up the account. He is not available to answer my calls or texts, I find this very disturbing behavior.

    Somehow in creating this account there was a secondary account created by numbers which would have sent my earning to it. This drew a red flag, I just want to transfer the remaining amount back into my saving account. I am very thankful to the security team for catching this. However you can unlock my account now, it's been more than 7 days, which is when a resolution is made, and resolved, it's more like 19 days and counting. Lesson learned here the hard way and what's terrible is a rotten friend did this to me. BTC is not doing very well, and every day my money stays there I take a hit, Shameful they won't let me transfer my money to my bank account.

    These idiots cannot do a simple transfer from my Robinhood account to my bank checking account. The first time I tried to transfer, Robinhood sent it to the WRONG CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBER!. I entered all bank routing and checking account numbers correctly. They researched it, verified that I was correct, and said they'd take care of it. Then the idiots tried taking money out of my checking account instead of depositing. I have a massive negative balance in my checking account. They refuse to address the issue or transfer me to a supervisor who can take care of the problem. These idiots are not ready for prime time, they should not be in the business of handling financial transactions or money.

    I’m 72 yrs old and a Rtd. vet. I put my life saving in Robinhood platform hoping it was safe as advertised. I was hacked and my money was stolen. I contacted Robinhood support about the situation, they responded with locking my account. No explanation as to what happened or why they’ll lock my account. I had to contact a private cyber investigation firm to help resolve the situation. Thank God platforms like ChainAbuse exist. I got through via Instagram to their technical team who took my case and provided resolution within 14 business days. Robinhood agreed to a full refund which I received via check in my mail last week and also unlocked my account but I closed it immediately after withdrawal. I don’t trust this company!     Robinhood sold my stock at a loss without my permission. On March 12th of this year, I was notified that my stocks and crypto sale request was completed. Which I never made. I repeatedly tried to contact them to find out what was going on. Only to get the same generic responses via email. I could never get an answer. They finally deactivated my account. When I asked about my remaining funds. I was told there wasn’t anything to return. Thankfully I had a screenshot of my balance. After filing a complaint with the SEC and three and half months of a complete nightmare of arguing with the online support (never could get a live phone call) they finally agreed to return what was left of my money. My observation is if they do what they did with my account to a very small percentage of their victims and the victims just give up getting their money back. They could possibly bank millions. Very shady outfit!! Never invest with this company!!!

    I have used Robinhood for several years and never had any problems. Only this year when twice for no reason a message appears in my account that I have a deficit and if I don't cover it, the account cannot operate. Deficit that I do not owe and was placed without any reason. After making the claim, my money was returned to me, which was not a large sum in my case. But today, 06/07/2024, my nephew speaks to me, who has a Robinhood account referred by me with the same problem and in the same way as mine, only with a much larger sum of money. So I wonder. What is the reason for placing a restriction and charge that makes no sense and is not recognized by the client. I have photos that prove what I say both in my case and in that of my nephew.

    The Robinhood Gold credit card is NO GOOD. Almost seems like a scam. If you would like to apply for the card, you first must become a $50 member. Once a member, Robinhood puts you on a waitlist to APPLY but can not tell you how long you will wait. It can be months if ever... Spend your time and money with another company.

    I used to read Reddit and Quora to check if a company was legit. Then I came across reviews on Consumer Affairs. I should have done more research before utilizing Robinhood. Seems losing money through scamming people is by design. Normalized issues with Robinhood:

    -- Locking people out of accounts
    -- Disconnecting phone calls
    -- Misleading clients
    -- Little to no customer service

    -- Tendency to lose money unrelated to poor investing

    Someone at Robinhood seems to be working with outside scammers who acted as Robinhood security. Had the App call me to setup an account to transfer money out. Call drops, RH Security calls me back, pretending to verify my account. Gets me to change my password and 2FA by texting my phone number. I thought it was actually Robinhood. How else would they know my number unless someone at Robinhood is working with outside scammers? They transfer all my funds into BITCOIN and lock me out of my account! God sees everything. Robinhood falls very short of the two greatest commandments.

    Don't DO IT! Robinhood had me locked out of my account for over 1.5 years. I sent dozens of emails, tried calling (there is no customer support), tried resetting my account, sent snail mails...This went on and on and on. They would answer maybe 1 out of every 6 emails, but gave useless advice and not other way to contact them. After being a real ** with them, they FINALLY unlocked my account. I withdrew every penny and then closed the account. I agree with others...This is definitely a Robbing Hood company.

    Complete scammers, they have locked up my account and refuse access to my money while I did nothing wrong. Customer support is useless. I had multiple back and forth contacts with Robinhood and they are unable to assist me in accessing my money, they put a restriction on my account. Won't tell me why and are not allowing me to withdraw my money. I had to file a complaint with consumer financial protection bureau and have also done so with other authorities.

    I gave them one star because I can't give them zero stars. I have been trying to resolve my issue regarding suspicious activity on my account with Robinhood but have not been successful. After attempting to contact Robinhood last week I did get an email from them on saying that they would be calling me in 3 to 5 business days. I did get a call from Robinhood Trust and Safety Support 806-855-8373. I was on hold for 28 minutes before I hung up.

    When I called back I was told that I needed to provide an 8-digit case number. I never received one because I waited on hold and then hung up. Now I am trying to close my account and get the deposited funds. I am instructed to use the app or web site to initiate the process. I am locked out and when I try to get a new password I never receive an authentication code. I don't know how anyone is willing to put up with the utter lack of customer service.

    I wish I could give ZERO Stars! Robinhood might as well have NO Customer Service because it is absolutely Horrible! IMPOSSIBLE to reach a Human. I can't sign in and through email that it takes them forever to respond to, they ask me to take a Screenshot of what I am seeing and send it to them. Well, I guess no one told them, according to Robinhood, when I try to Screenshot the message, I get the message from Robinhood, "Screenshot can NOT be done due to Security Policy". I guess no one told them that. I Definitely would NOT recommend Robinhood to anyone. I am going to E-Trade where they have Humans to HELP.

    I never trusted Robinhood from the start which is why I never invested much with them from the start. I have been locked out of my account since July of 2022! At this point, I have accepted the fact I may never see that money again. You CAN'T talk to a live person and they send you in circles which ultimately lead to a dead end via email. My issue was small and I STILL WASN'T PROVIDED ASSISTANCE. Anyone considering investing ANYTHING with them do this one simple thing. Attempt to call them first.

    If you are able to talk to a live person feel free to use their platform. When you’re not able to talk to anyone ask yourself this question. Can I trust anyone and/or am I willing to invest anything with a company in which I CANNOT get help when there is a problem?!?! There are so many better options out there. Reading these other reviews I am considering myself fortunate that my losses are small. At some point, one of our regulatory agencies need to step in and hold them accountable.

    They exercised my credit spread option to close it, which cost me 100% of my profit , they keep using excuse they do that so people won't lose money, or imply they don't have funds to cover position, I put up my own funds for spreads, so everything is fully covered by that and other half of spread, they are thieves and cons, I have made complaint to SEC and Ripoff Report, if anyone is interested in filing a class action suit against Robinhood I'm all for it.. They pick and choose what they do and think that your money is theirs, they need to be held accountable..

    I’ve entered into a bear call spread on DJT expiring in Jan 2025, 7 months from now. On 4/1 I entered into 4 spreads. That same day, 3 out of 4 short calls were exercised effectively forcing me out of the trade. The next day I entered into the same trade purchasing 4 of the same spreads. Later that day I’m notified all four of my short calls were exercised! I spoke with support and was told options assignments are at “random” by OCC. This doesn’t seem random. The open interest on the short call I sold has remained at 607. If my calls were exercised that number should change which it hasn’t. I’ve contacted the SEC. I am almost positive Robinhood is doing something shady. I will be entering the same trade again tomorrow with Robinhood and with another brokerage to see what happens.

    I am certainly not happy the way this site operates and claims to have no commission on stock trades. I have tried and observed many times, noticing what the bid and asking price is...but no trade has ever taken place within those obvious parameters. Trades never go thru until they they have undeclared margins included. There is always a difference, which works against account holders. It would be nice for them to start declaring and charging the commission on trades. I could live with that. But I cannot live with their dishonesty. I hope they investigated about their ill and dishonest practices. I have decided to leave...without arguing and fighting. I will gently take my business elsewhere!

    I have invested a good deal of $ with this company. The first problem came when I'd try to sell when the stock went super high. It would never allow me until the stock had dropped significantly. Now, I sold stock over 2 weeks ago, there is no record outside of Robinhood that it was sold. My bank has no information whatsoever regarding this transaction and they won't answer my emails! Of course their customer service # tells you to use their online service, then disconnects the call.

    I needed to contact customer support multiple times for the same reason. I was originally told that I would receive notification in 1-3 business of the reimbursement. That didn't happen. After a few more chats and a couple weeks going by one person finally provided a statement to show the reimbursement even though it wasn't visible under account history. Management told me that I had an option of downloading the statement when it generates after a month. Customer support assured me that they would escalate my concerns and ensure something would be done about it to make it right. Management had the ability to honor what the customer support team stated, but outright refused for no valid reason.

    I was inconvenienced, given misinformation and incorrect information, spent a lot of my time unnecessarily trying to get a direct answer about my reimbursement question, I was told one thing by support and management overrules what was stated and told me nothing will be done on the customer service side to fix the issue. Apparently, they are ok with lying and doing something other than what was stated from customer service team. I would recommend just about any other brokerage who has more knowledgeable staff to properly answer a basic question, has complete transaction transparency not just under statements, but under all account history, a brokerage that fully honors all stated promises and commitments, and one who adheres to the first law of business to take care of the customer. A terrible experience. I would stay far away.

    I have been trading using other platforms, but decided to move to Robinhood because of all the hype around them. About two months ago I moved all my IRA and about 50% of stock trading to Robinhood. 3 weeks ago they froze my account saying they want to review (not sure what), no action on my side. Later they came back and asked me to submit ID Proof, bank statements etc. It was a challenge to do it, but I did. Then they said they will finish the review on XX date. Again no action required from my side. I checked status on the date they gave me and now the date is XX+1 :-).

    This XX+1 business is now continuing. There is no one I can talk to, I have no idea what they are reviewing. During this period, I am not able to trade. My money is locked up with them. I am ready to close my account and move on. I saw some posts in this forum where the poster said he did not get the money back. To me this looks like fraud. There is a lot of my money locked up in the IRA account for which they don't even pay interest.

    DO NOT TRADE ANYTHING ON ROBINHOOD.COM. I'd been trading issue free for several month without incident. But I've two coins on the server in anticipation of a spike. Without warning cause or even a reason why they've restricted my account for absolutely no reason at all. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not one phone number, way to chat or even email if there is a problem. ALL of the phone numbers you see listed online connect to phone scams. The person tries to get you to send "verifying' funds to a random wallet, the address for which they send you by text. Or they will try to get you to load and use remote access software in an effort to commadere and take control of your computer. I only write reviews when I feel exceptionally impressed, good and bad. ROBINHOOD.COM is BAD. Do not trade anything on this site unless you eventually want to be scammed. DO NOT TRADE ANYTHING ON ROBINHOOD.COM

    About a year ago I got into crypto and I opened up a Robinhood account for the long term and bought a few different stocks and cryptos that were hot buys and going up fast only to drop fast and have never recovered, like their Robinhood stock. I was enrolled in their gold account at which I never signed up for. I canceled that and now I am getting emails for a deficit on my account that needs funds and there is no one to email to get this cleared up. I really do not think anything in Robinhood is long term, you have to know what you are buying and have experience, buy big and sell right away and pay the capital gains otherwise you will lose everything you put in.

Because they are investigating their "Robinhood help support for fraud" which is a joke.     If I could give negative stars I would. I have given Robinhood so many chances over the last 2 years. I’m completely done with this company. Their customer service staff is absolutely rude and awful human beings. If you are calling them for help you’re probably frustrated. If you are even a little frustrated with their service they and they can hear it in your voice they will arbitrarily put restrictions on your account and takes 7/10 days to get the restrictions lifted. They will play with your money. If you get a large sum deposited, restrictions, if you ask for help, restrictions, this is the worst company trust me, learn from my mistakes, DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY INTO AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO RANDOMLY AND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME LOSE ALL ACCESS TO YOUR MONEY AND BE TREATED LIKE TRASH WHEN IT HAPPENS.     I have been trying to get my account verified for over 11 days. Their email support seems to be misleading and not secure at all. They send email every other day from a different person asking to send ** and when you send you get another one. I called explained everything and I was asked to upload to a secure location as they do not have any of my information. Where is all the ** GOING? They don't know and this is very dangerous. In my case even after uploading to the link they provided, they sent another email asking to upload. I believe it's an automated email pretending real human. T's been over 11 days and nothing, when I asked how long they need I was told 3 days. Now even when I call they don't call me back.

    Last person I spoke to in their security department even made a funny with a comment "I understands you need your money, I will help you" as if he is trying to do me a favor. I still don't have my account verified. They play childish games. They are not secure and they make funny jokes. This is very rude and unprofessional and un-secure. I don't have time to go back and forth to play games..I just want my money and I don't ever have to use Robinhood. I hope someone Investigates where all the ** and documents people send are stored? And secure?. I bet it's not. This is the worst platform ever. I have been verified and trading with many other platform while robinhood is busy doing nothing. I believe now they are the next FTX. And my money is trapped in there.

    Do not under any circumstance give these people your money. They are holding my money hostage right now which has cost me more than 3k while dealing with their useless customer service. They're not only incapable of getting me back into my account after my phone number changed, they won't reply with anything other than a copy and pasted email. Not only that, they'll send you the same one multiple times because the people you deal with directly make next to nothing, and then when you call them out and tell them to stop copy and pasting emails they just ignore you altogether. This is the single worst company I've ever done business with, and second place isn't even close. This isn't like buying food from someplace and then choosing not to go back... These worthless ** still have my money. These people should be arrested.

    Had some unusual notification on my app after the Data Breach news. Got me real worried and tried withdrawing my funds out of panic when I got an Error. Even more distressed I tried a lot of numbers finally I was able to reach them at 1855 9O9 2795 and they were able to resolve my issue.     I like the fact that you get a free stock, but I would like to see some kind of tutorial or introduction to stocks. For those of us who don't know anything about it but want to try it out.     Great for hobby investments. The app is incredibly easy to use and is designed to introduce and guide new investors to the stock market. With no previous experience in stocks and little knowledge of the process, I found it easy to get started and find it to be a great hobby. We have a group of 5 family members who all signed up and check in on our investments. It's fun but some advice- never invest more than you're willing to lose!

    I think it's very easy to understand for beginners, I consider myself a beginner, it's hard to understand the graphics in other apps, but Robinhood makes it easy, and they also show news about economy and about the stocks you are buying Which is very helpful for deciding when to buy or sell, but the crypto market is very limited so may not be the right app for people looking for crypto

What I think the best part is that they tell you whether professional analysts think it’s a good time to buy, hold or sell and what percentage of said analysts think so.     Do NOT use Robinhood Brokerage! Because of a glitch in their operation, they froze my new account and restricted me from accessing the $40,000 that they held. There is no phone number to call, no human contact to resolve problems. They answer email Help Desk requests with pre-made responses that do not help. I finally had to file complaints with FINRA and SEC to release my funds, after almost three months! In fact, what type of Brokerage company, Financial Institution, or Bank does not have phone number, customer service to speak with? DO NOT CONSIDER THIS BROKERAGE!

    I don't care what the media says or how Robinhood makes its money. If celebratory digital balloons cause a person to lose everything they have invested, that person never should have started investing in the first place and I wonder how that person got so far in life at all!     Robinhood is a great but simple app for daily stock trading and staying up to date on stock and business information. I use it to manage 5 figures in stocks, and often use the ticker information to stay apprised of the companies status. It's not always available in the app, so I may need to research more, but it's a great launching point at the very least. I like the trader review/analysis as well, but that's relative. There are some misses such as slower trading capability, limited management and limited data. BUT if you trade low-scale like I do, it's great and perfectly priced!

    Robinhood is good but sometimes they don't have a basic stock I want to buy and don't know why. They have limits when I have the money in the account and said I have to make a limit.     I personally had all my funds taken. Their customer service is terrible. Only can communicate through email. Their trade platform is designed to make profit off everything sold. Then their platform takes what is sold after it is purchased and resells to other brokerages for a higher price normally cents but sometimes even dollars higher. Their liars and will always be, my documents support this.

    Dennis ** and Robinhood Investments of Rock Hill SC is not a person I would recommend trusting. His words and actions are often in conflict. While this southern 'sweet talking' man seems like a friend, I can assure you his intentions are otherwise. Representing himself a Christian man with good values, he doesn't even attempt to honor them. He consistently perpetuates stories and fabricates lies based on his feelings. My experience was involved with him resolving a debt after paying him $20,000 to assist me in assuming a loan on a home. While he says 'he's not interested in money", his goal is clearly that...the extraction of money and the proliferation of deception and confidence building. STAY AWAY from Dennis ** and Robinhood Investments of SC.

    I got on this app to learn about Investments and how stocks work. Which end is great for that because you can get free stock, it's very low cost and it's not going to break the bank. But when I tried to get my money from them and withdraw it were the issues. I was asked for my ID, my social security card, copies of my bank statement. Well then they told me that wasn't enough. I had to give a bank statement of an account that I previously had. Which I thought was odd because no transactions came through that account the account is closed. That's why I removed it off of their website.

    We can't give you your money. Until we get that statement at some more don't think there anymore. I don't have a statement. Still have not gotten a response. I haven't received my money and two months later I am still waiting on them to contact me back. Any company willing to stay at steal $100 from somebody really needs the money so they're probably not the best investment company.
