One should not be surprised by the 1-star review rating of Robinhood. My experience is entirely consistent with this rating. Moreover, it is impossible to contact customer support. You do so in the app, and it tells you an agent will connect with you in one minute. Hardly! I waited over one hour and was never connected for a chat. In addition, Robinhood will do everything possible to hide customer support phone numbers. I regret opening an account with. You would think there would be some oversight, Federally, but apparently not. This is my actual experience without hyperbole.

I had an account for 8 years with Robinhood. I fell behind on my personal taxes due to 2 bad years with my company. The IRS put a levy on my account. I made a payment deal with the IRS to release the levy. They agreed and released it. They faxed and physically mailed Robinhood the official release of levy. They claimed they still haven't received it 6 weeks later. I verified with at least 4 different representatives at Robinhood that the fax number was correct. Now after 6 weeks of getting jerked around, last night I get an email from Robinhood customer service that it actually isn't the correct fax number. I check my account this morning and I have $0.00 in my account. They took it all. Absolute worst customer service I've ever dealt with. This is now going to be a lawsuit for neglect.

Don't get burned by RobinHood. I've had a Robin account for about a year. Now, 2 weeks ago, all of a sudden, RobinHood told me they were going to shut my account down, close my account and liquid date on my ** Asset.. I also blocked me from communicating through the app. No, it just sends me in circles.\n A week after this happened, I finally got communication from them.\n But I still haven't got an answer to why my account got shut down. I've now been without money because all that was in robinhood, for going on, 3 weeks not only have I missed several huge opportunities on the market. The past couple weeks, but I also was forced to liquidate my assets, leaving me $25000. Short, I estimate my total losses to be between 50 and 75000. If you don't like communism, you shouldn't go to Robinhood.\n Because they'll do whatever they want with your money.

Customer service is non existent and based on the difficulty understanding the customer service agents, it’s farmed out to another country. On the basis of not being able to pay off a balance on my Robinhood credit card using a routing number and an account number as every other credit card company does, I closed both my trading and card accounts. It took me more than hour on the phone. As customer service everywhere gets worse, Robinhood is truly a comical example. I wrote this review while waiting for customer service to finish closing my accounts.

They say if you got shares a reverse means you either get more or less of what you have but more never happens!!! I’ve lost so much with this bull! Screwing and scamming people.

I had $69,000.00 in my account, and on December 2nd, 2025, my computer mouse began moving across the screen on its own, and I lost all control. Hackers took the entire $69,000.00 and also accessed my linked bank account, resulting in a theft of $25,000.00. I filed a police report, and a detective was assigned to my case.
I spoke with a very kind representative named Tim at Robinhood, who assured me that they typically do not refund money. However, he later called with good news, explaining that I had been hacked and it wasn't my fault, so the funds would likely be returned to me. Tim mentioned that another representative would reach out to discuss the return of my money.
Then, on December 31, 2025, just before midnight, I received a message stating that they would not refund the money and had ruled in favor of the company. The police and detectives were unable to take further action. While people can still deposit money into the account, I warn others to be cautious. If you get hacked or experience issues with your funds, you may lose your money. I would recommend staying away from this platform.

I was led to Robinhood by Credit Karma. Credit Karma clearly said no annual fee. At the end of my first month they charged me $50 for gold membership with no choice to opt out. That is the same as an annual fee. I contacted customer service to downgrade to card that wasn't gold to get the no annual fee I was promised. The agent was unclear, then cancels my account to screw up my credit. Beware!! Scam organization with no scruples and terrible customer service.

Well it was easy enough to download the app, get the 2 small deposites, report back, get the goahead to make deposites and invest, so I did, 5000.00 in the stopped me and estranged me to my account. So now, I've been trying my best to jump all the hoops and get my now 5200.00 back, but with the customer service on a chat system only and you only get an agent for maybe a half hour, then they change agents on you and you must start all over and never accomplish your goals, or they come up with my account is restricted like I did something wrong and they are going to posses my account, so, for God's sake, and mine, please do what's right and give me back my money or at least put it back in my checking account where it was at Wells Fargo. If I ever get my money and escape these bad people I'll never return!!!!

Robinhood will not let me talk to supervisor. They froze both my accts Financial for an email I received. I contacted Customer service via chat. I I went through 4 people trying to explain an emails and that I believed was a phishing email I wanted to warn them about. The 4th person in CS Rep named John froze my financial acct and the market dropped quickly & I lost money due to froze acct & he froze my Credit Card acct by claiming fraud recent usage. I haven't used that card since 1 time at Christmas. It's been almost 3 months so that's a lie. Even if I did need to use it I can't. No one will help. No supervisor. All Reps say I will email a supervisor. They say only email. Robinhood will not let you talk to a supervisor at all. I see they have been fined for millions by doing this and they still are doing it.
This company owes me money for stress, defamation, slander and lost money because they froze my trading acct too. They are Terrible Company and they charges excessive fees and delayed trading. This is going on week 3 to get this handled. They mute you when you tell them you want a verbal supervisor and will not tell you what department will email you. They will only tell you email. They are a bunch of either liars because at a call center there is always on there. I know. I ran a call center. I have never been treated this way. I will seek legal advice for defamation & Slander.

The most frustrating thing ever. I lost my phone in an accident and got a new phone. Since then I am unable to log into my Robinhood app because it does not recognize my device. There is no way to speak to a customer support rep without first logging into the app. They have held my money hostage and are denying me access to it, unless I connect my bank account to a 3rd party 'Plaid' or verify my identity by letting them scan my drivers license and a 3-point selfie, which I never agreed to this when I first signed up for the app.
Wait till you read the terms and conditions of the 'verify by bank account' and 'Verify with ID' the information that you are FORCED to give permission to them sharing is a total invasion of privacy. I final tried the 'Verify with ID' route, they took pictures of my ID and 3-point selfie, and STILL denied me access to login to the app! I feel completely violated - do yourself a favor and Run away from Robinhood while you still have the chance!

I have had my account for a while, and I spent a lot of time setting it up, but I don’t really know what I’m doing. A few weeks ago, while I was very ill with a virus, I got hooked by a phishing scam. I should have known better, it was 100% my fault. But, reviewing my account, Robinhood refreshed it to the original account. (Scammers convinced me to convert my entire account to Crypto.) I was so surprised and astonished!!! It was entirely their right to say I was at fault in the situation, but they didn’t. 🙏

Hands down the worst customer service experience. I had gold card with them and was charged an annual fee but don’t use it. When I went to call, I learned they don’t have a number to dial in, but a call back. The callback states 30 minutes but I waited over 3 hours and when I wasn’t available. Fast forward, doing this 3 days they then hit me with a late fee while I am now trying to close the account. They never rebated the fee and would not call me back. I can’t imagine if I had real money in this shady company. STAY AWAY!

Over the last two weeks I've been talking to Robin Hood support about a problem that I had. Somehow Robin Hood signed me up for the Robinhood gold and the only reason they contacted me 2 years later is they said that I had it insufficient money in my account. So what they had been doing is selling my stock to pay for the $5 a month that I had been charged for the Robinhood gold account. After finding this out I contacted the Robin Hood support probably 10 or 12 times each time I got a different person and had to explain the problem to the biggest thing is most of them had a hard time speaking English. So I ask to talk to a supervisor about my problem. Finally I got a reply from a supervisor when I asked him to show me on my history what day I signed up for Robin Hood gold he told me he did not have that information.
Then I asked him everything that I have done on Robinhood is in my history any money being moved anything why isn't the Robin Hood gold account show up in my history. He had a hard time trying to explain it he said it just does not happen that way. I said okay surely you have some kind of paperwork showing that I signed up for Robin Hood gold he said unfortunately I do not. That's when I told him yeah I know because I didn't sign up for Robin Hood gold. The amount of money that I lost was only $120 they gave me $60 of that back and then they took $15 from me because they said I owed for 3 months of back charges.
Before I contacted them they told me they were going to go back into my bank account and start taking money out that I owe them for Robinhood gold. I just thought to myself you cannot show me any proof any paperwork that I signed up for it but you can sell my stock and get into my bank account and steal money. If I could I would give them like a negative 50 for a rating but one was the only thing that I could click on LOL. I hope to see other reviews about people getting scammed with the Robin Hood gold sign up. Vince

Just so we are clear, this is a ZERO stars review: I received an email from Robin Hood telling me that my attempt at opening an account had expired/timed out. I had never tried to open an account on Robin Hood so it was obvious fraud. Robin Hood customer service was not available unless I did open an account. After opening an account so I could “request a call back,“ I spoke to one of the Filipino call takers. She advised that she would send my information to their fraud department and they would contact me. I specifically requested a physical callback so I could get specific information for an identity theft police report. The only follow up information that I received was an email stating that my account had been Unlocked and was available for use.
When I called back to follow up on the fraud report, I could barely understand the operator, and she provided me with zero useful information. She, and the second operator that I spoke to refused to put me through to a supervisor. They refused to transfer me to the United States so I could speak to an English speaking operator and understand what was going on. I still have not received the fraud report with any specific information. If you provide these idiots with any of your hard earned money, expect nothing but a big fat headache. When they don’t know what they’re talking about it reflects poorly upon them. Filipino culture does not allow for this, so they just hang up on you in hopes that you will never be able to contact Anyone who cares about their customer service.

Robinhood account support employee, stole my entire $19,800 cash deposit. I called Help support, female support person eventually transferred me to their account support dept. A guy picked up the call. Over the next several hours, I talked with this support person off and on, over 6 different phone calls, under his total direction, he guided me on the process of how to deposit cash into my Robinhood account. He also walked me through creating a wallet where the deposit would be going to.
After deposit was made, he again called me back and he guided me, to my wallet showing me that the deposit had arrived. He told me, he would give me time to drive home & he would again, call me back. He never called. The next morning, my wallet was wiped clean. I have gotten no response, from Robinhood about this matter. It is about to get ugly..... ROBINHOOD HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A TOTAL SCAM. I never got a chance to invest my deposit into anything.

I’ve used Robinhood primarily for investing in Crypto. I am only 18 and wanted to buy my first car. Instead, I listened to and followed to my dad's proposal to help me invest in the market and maybe get a nicer ride later on or hold on long term. I started out learning about crypto which I eventually got on RH. I accumulated 2.2 ethereum and 3200 XRP. I eventually decided to keep investing and holding my assets longer term. Who knows what It would be worth when I am 25 right? Decided to put it in a cold wallet. I first transferred my XRP with a $5000 dollar limit per 24hrs to my new Tangem wallet. No problems, so far. I left. My 2.2 ethereum In the RH exchange and against my dad's advice decided to sell and use the amount to buy more XRP. I decided to send the rest to my Tangem wallet but got restricted.
I can now only send 500XRP per 24hrs. Their reason is because I used my Chase card to try fund my account $2500 but meant to use my Wells Fargo card because my Chase did not have enough funds. A simple mistake I made the first time I purchased crypto. It was no problem before when I was transferring the full limit to my cold wallet; but all of a sudden it’s a red flag. Now instead of 2 days it will take me almost a whole week to get out of this situation. I call it a situation because who knows what can happen in a week. To add to the concern is I have read stories and was told that this would happen. Of people getting their accounts closed and just getting paid current value. Market is below what I got it for right now so I’m concerned given their reputation and the predicted situation I became a part of.
I was hoping the people in these reviews were wrong but here I am. I messed up using the wrong debit card oops. But I used the right one after. Did not know it would be a flag that would cost me a week of extra worry given that they do not do anything else in that week that makes it worse. I am definitely worried. I’m willing to pay the extra money to buy directly from my wallet. Uses, MoonPay. It would be worth the peace of mind.

I was trying to transfer my crypto account to an off site wallet and they said that it was suspicious and locked my account, even though I transferred crypto to this account in the past. They said it would take 4 days to review and a week later still no communication with the company, filed a complaint with the BBB, FINRA and will soon be filing a complaint with the SEC, I find it very poor business practice to hold a person's account hostage and refuse to let them transfer their stock, Crypto and money as the client sees fit. After reading a bunch of the reviews This account will be closed ASAP and I would strongly advise anyone who may be thinking about doing any business with Robinhood look elsewhere as they are not a very honest company. If you have a complaint or try to contact customer service all you get is a AI song and dance and you will never be able to talk to a live representative from the company.

Once they have your money, they descend into a criminal organization. If you make any attempt to withdraw or transfer assets they will freeze your account for suspicious activity. You may only request customer service through a callback. They will hang up on connection dozens of times. Finally reached 3 different security representatives who stated I did nothing wrong and they would unfreeze my account for trade, etc. Next email closed my account and sold all assets at a loss without any input from me. Run away from Robinhood as my research found that this their common practice.

I have been buying and selling on Robinhood for almost two months. I have had a few software glitches where the limit buys do not get recognized even through the graph cursors keeps hitting the price on my limit. This has happened more than four times in less than the last month. I reported the first one via their "help" chat. Pretty much got ignored. Then the software glitched during one of my amsf orders and the incomplete order just disappeared. The tow existing limit orders I had went away as well. I looked and did not see anything so I proceeded to redo my orders before noon and then I was on conf calls for my day job until after 5pm est.
At around 6 pm I noticed an email that said my order had been executed for 44.80 for purchasing AMSF. The price never made it above 41 something that day, they somehow executed an order for over 1k for this stock. Since it wasn't anywhere near the actual price I couldn't even sell it without losing money instantly. I reported the Glitch to them and they have proceeded lock me out of the account, force the photo login that never recognized the barcode on the back of my license and then tell me that if I do not change my email address tied to the account that they are not responsible for anything that happens on my account in the future.
The rep also could not see my first month and a half of trans on the account of the questionable transaction that occurred on 10/3/25. She kept saying that according to my account I only started trading on 10/8/2025. That scared the crap out of me as all I could think was what are they doing with my funds while I cannot access them. The platform can be easy to use but be wary if anything ever happens on your account. They will make your life miserable. May be best just to stay clear. My "account" is still under investigation with no end in site as they are trying to treat is as a compromised account rather than admitting to glitches in their software.

Robinhood waits 5 days to transfer ACH funds from your bank account into their system. When asked, they have no valid reason other than it's their policy. Meanwhile they are making money off your money while it's in limbo. The photo ID security feature took more than 2 hours and forty tries on DL photos to be accepted during signup. When I asked customer service if they sell or share your information with other entities they refused to answer. Once in the system, the website is difficult to navigate and understand. Not user friendly. I don't recommend them at all.

Lost access to my account after switching phones, since authentication is device-bound and they have no alternative method without access to the original device, you're stuck. There's no direct line to customer support—only a selfie verification process, which delays resolution if there's any mismatch. It took 4 days to rectify the issue and remained locked out until system was physically updated, not when id was confirmed.... this delay cost me over $1K in losses due to being locked out and not able to trade. I expressed my concerns but that didn't matter. Their process is that they must update the system prior to restoring access. Funny thing, there was a ~$1 deficit on my account during this time which allowed me to authenticate by giving them access to my financial institution to transfer that $1 over to cover the acct maintenance deficit.
As soon as the deficit was covered, that was no longer an option and they booted me back off and was back to waiting for the identity update to be completed on system. How convenient. I'm not opposed to stringent security measures but this was a process issue. Once identified I should have received access to my account. Had they done that, I would have not lost that much money over the week.

On August 9, 2025, I tried transferring XRP, XLM, ADA, HBAR, and ONDO from my Robinhood account to my cold wallet. After a 10 XRP transfer succeeded, they restricted my account that day, citing unusual activity, and demanded ID photos, selfies, and bank statements. I sent photos and selfies but refused bank statements for privacy reasons. On August 11, they asked for more app verification, which I did instantly. Oliver from support said they were reviewing but provided no clarity. I emailed on August 11 and 13, demanding answers and fund release, but got no help.
On August 13 at 12:54 PM, they claimed the restriction was lifted but said I was scammed, which is false-I'm a cybersecurity professional; my account was secure. A support call that day said crypto transfers are permanently banned. Their restrictions forced me to sell my crypto at a 0.85% fee ($68.87 on $8102.34), and delayed funds meant repurchasing at higher prices, causing losses. They're still holding funds. Robinhood's unprofessional service is awful. I've filed with the SEC, CFPB, and BBB. One star.
