What is GO2bank?

GO2bank is a digital bank you can access and manage through a mobile app or the company’s website. Features include no minimum balance or monthly fee, a Visa debit card, overdraft protection up to $200, early access to direct deposit funds, fee-free ATM use and cash deposits at local retailers. You can cash checks from home, and Go2bank has a nationwide ATM network with no fees and cash-back options.

How does GO2bank work?

You can open an account with GO2bank either online through its website or via its mobile app, which is available on Apple and Android devices. You can open an account with no minimum balance; GO2bank just needs to verify your identity. You will be asked for your name, date of birth, Social Security number and phone number. Supporting documents may be required.

After opening an account, you’ll receive a debit card in seven to 10 days. You can use the card anywhere Visa debit is accepted in the U.S. With GO2bank, you can also:

  • Set up direct deposit and access funds up to two days early
  • Cash a check remotely using the app
  • Deposit cash at a participating retailer, including CVS and Walgreens
  • Withdraw money from in-network ATMs with no fee
  • Opt in for overdraft protection up to $200

    Don't ever use this bank!! I went back and forth with these people about getting money off my card to put it in another account and they kept telling me over and over that my expire date did not match what The card I was putting in. WHAT?? Then that is their mistake to fix. For 4 days I tried to get my money and finally I just closed the account and they send you a code to go pick it up at Walmart! That's about the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. They wouldn't let me move some money out but then they send it to Walmart for you to pick up! Ridiculous. They could have just fixed the date they had wrong! Whatever. Glad it's over!!

    I had a Go2bank account for years getting direct deposit for my father's social security check because I was his power of attorney and designated representative through the social security office. Well he died last year and go 2 bank locked up my account stating that they got a notice that my dad passed. I let them know that he did pass away. They have my money locked in the account. They said that they needed a letter stating that I wasn't deceased since the account was in my name and the social security office gave me a letter stating that and I sent it to their corporate office for review.

    They said the account can't be opened back up, but they have yet to send my money to me via check. They said they would even send it back to the social security office, but they haven't even did that. I have approval from the social security office that the funds belong to me and social security said that once funds are sent out they don't recoup them. So why won't they send me my money to me? If anyone knows who I can contact about this matter please let me know?

      Used my go-to bank debit card to purchase items at Merchant. The Merchant immediately canceled the transaction due to an error that occurred on the merchant's end. The money was put on hold out of my account and shown as pending. Called The Merchant and was told that in their system it shows the transaction was canceled and they received no money. Contacted GO2bank customer support and was told that the refund takes time and told me that they could not release the hold on a pending charge. However immediately following the next day used my go-to debit card to make a purchase at a different Merchant and it posted to my account and was not showing as pending.

      If you make a purchase at a merchants for any amount that amount is released and no longer pending within one day. Yet a refund to the card or a canceled transaction by the merchant that was done immediately after the transaction occurred by the merchant and was told that it took 10 days for it to no longer show as pending but show as credit did back to my account.

      Customer service was extremely poor and very rude and there's no reason why they have to hold the funds for that long to process a refund but yet a purchase legitimately without any disputes or canceled transactions immediately after the purchase is made takes only one day to post from pending to the account. Couldn't get anywhere with these people. As soon as my refund comes in I am canceling this account, closing it out and I will never use this Bank ever again. It is the worst online banking app I have ever experienced out of all of the others that I have tried. Do not recommend opening an account with this app. I will stick with Chime, Cash App, etc., etc.

      I received GO2bank card for income tax refund. I activated the card and have been trying to talk to someone for an hour. When I check the card balance it stated there was no funds available. I chose this option for my refund and I'm disappointed that I could not speak to anyone or assess the account online.

      I think GO2 bank is horrible. I got a notification from them asking about a transaction and I hit no and they shut me down and wouldn't let me have actors my money I gave them we all my information and they said, "Sorry ain't that correct." Johna left me broke and wouldn't let me transfer to my linked account so yes, my experience with GO2 bank is absolutely horrible. Don't use this bank, it suck bad.

      I am so frustrated with GO2bank. They froze my account said it was suspicious activity. I have been with him for over a year with direct deposit. Never had any problems with my paychecks or anything like that and now they are not unfreezing my money for me. This is the worst customer service and the worst kind of bank service that any bank can provide. If this were to happen in a company that was reputable they would at least provide a $500 cash withdrawal so the people that they are not giving their hard-earned money to can live and make it until they fix their own mistakes. I am switching banks and I suggest not ever banking with GO2bank. So disappointed and I would never ever ever refer anybody to these people.

      Need to speak to someone, how do I do that. I'm getting text about a card ending in ** that I don't have and that ask for a security code and I can't give them something I don't have. I need customer center to call me.

      Absolutely horrible customer service for the past two weeks. I was out a total of $1,700. They did not refund me the money due to a hack to my account. They said it was my fault, that these mines were gone and they wouldn't refund me. They asked me for documentation to prove I didn't do it. Now how can I make documentation of something that I didn't do.

      Terrible bank. They closed my account for no absolute reason. I was also receiving direct deposit from my job. Stay away from these scammers. To wake up one day and find out they shut your bank down for no reason should be illegal.

      Giving them a one star is too much. They are rude. They never answer your question. By chance one of them does they don't tell you the truth. I called them to stop payment on a transaction. And they told me they couldn't stop the transaction.. So I end up calling the place the transaction was made with. They told me that they had already canceled the transaction. And return the money to my bank which was Go2. I ask them if they could send proof to my email account. They even sent me tracking on it. So when I called Go2bank and told them. They just keep telling me that it was pending on the other end. Not there. I told them that I had proof that it was back at their bank and I want it back in my account. One of them even told me I was lying about it. They still haven't put it back on. Plus because of their mess up it end up costing me more money waiting on them.
