I got scammed through Chime. Called to report it. The first customer service person was very rude. Asking me, "Well, did you make the payment? Does it show you sent it, so what are you asking me to do?" And then when I kept questioning, they hung up on me. I called back and got another person who was friendly. They did tell me that they were going to open a dispute. I feel that they weren’t really opening it because I never got an email saying a dispute has been opened, and I haven’t heard anything else. I even had screenshots of the scammer telling me it was a scam and if I want my money back, I needed to go talk to Chime. I would not trust Chime to help you with any fraudulent transactions. I would suggest to not even use Chime.

Don’t even THINK of using Chime. 3 days ago I called to upgrade my card to a credit card from a debit card. The rep CANCELLED my card. I contacted customer service, they are mailing me a new card. The rep said he would overnight my card. 3 days later I have not received. Spoke to a supervisor and they mailed me a card 7-10 day delivery time. He said they have NO WAY to overnight a card. Soooo- I cannot access over $1K because they cancelled my card w/out my knowledge. MF’s. I am canceling my account.

I been with Chime about 2 months now. I been mostly satisfied until now. They offer SpotMe Boost then they lower it, raise it again, then lower it. I keep getting ripped off on my SpotMe boosts. I send people; they never reimburse for it. Then when you call to talk to someone, they can’t do anything to help you, a waste of your time. Those operators can’t do anything to you, completely useless. I don’t know why the people like working for them. I’m on hold to talk to a manager, been waiting for 10 minutes already, and nothing. I would not recommend them; all they do is lie to people and make promises so people can switch to them, then you get nothing they promise you. Chime is a joke.

I have been with Chime for 10 years. Everything was great up till now July 1st 2026. I was robbed from my chime debit bank account. Chime never send me a alert that someone was requesting money from my account. Someone charged my debit to pay Mobile PO $178.00. This was at 7pm. I went to bed cause I am disabled and I woke up the next morning I looked at my chime app and noticed that my money was wiped out. I called chime the same day. I explained what happened so they said to me, "Oh we will do investigation and you will hear something in 90 days." Then he said, "On the 17th you will get your money the whole 178.00."
The next day I got denied no reason so I called back and asked them why was I denied. They believe that I used that money. I don't have mobile as my phone carrier. I have Spectrum under my husband. We even sent snapshot of our Spectrum payments on my husband's chime account. Still denied me so I am stuck paying my own money back including their money they lent me. I didn't use theirs money or mine. Please be careful with chime. They won't have your back in case of fraud on your debit card and your debit card is compromised. Please lock down your virtual and personal card. Once locked no one can do anything without your permission. Don't trust chime. They aren't on your side.

Chime Bank advertises all these great things unfortunately, when you deposit a check with Chime bank and it’s not a direct deposit there is a one week hold on every check. The funds leave the issuer's account and chime bank uses these funds for five business days and sometimes six business days. They post payment at 9 PM Eastern standard time on the fifth business day, which actually counts as the six business day which is 6 PM Eastern standard time so any payments you have on that account will be declined unless you plan on the funds posting six business days after your depositing if you’re paid every two weeks with a traditional check, chime bank is not beneficial to you when you do the math. You’re actually tying up your funds for 26 weeks out of the year which is equivalent to six months of interest. If you’re calculating your interest at 3 1/2 to 4% a year do the math. Chime bank is stealing your interest by tying up your funds for 26 weeks out of 52 week year. How does that make sense?

First I’d like to say I have had no problems or issues with Chime until 2 weeks ago. I was on vacation in the mountains of Missouri when my Amazon account was hacked. Chime would not refund my money… They wanted a police report… Sent them pics of proof of where I was at the time I was hacked… Denied my claim twice. Really thinking on switching banks… Really don’t want to.. but it was like they didn’t believe me which is really disappointing. So don’t get hacked unless you get a police report 'cause they won’t reimburse you!!

Horrible customer service close my account for no reason because of a AI security mistake. Did nothing different in the last three years and I have before it's suspected fraud that they can't even tell me what was suspected because I have no reason didn't review. They told me they called back and they would open my account back up. Don't don't tell me anything that's wrong. Tell me you can't open my account back up for no reason they can give me until an algorithm conducted by Ai and some bull and now I lose my account that I have had for 3 years. 3 years. It's ridiculous. Worst customer service and worst help I ever had.

I had a scammer use my information to create a fraudulent Amazon account, and purchase things. They likely purchased their own backstock, as they sent it to my house. Because I had no access to that fake account, I couldn't return the items. Amazon customer service told me that my bank needed to file a dispute for them to help me further. My dispute has been denied 3 times. Chime is not going to help me. I lost $259.08, and have two boxes of worthless drop-shipped junk taking up space in my house.

They are horrible. I have had money come up missing from my account and provided information to the person or person's that I felt were responsible for doing so to suddenly being told my claim was denied so I have lost around 4k using this bank. They tell me to provide information to help my complaint but as soon as I did based on what I could give them they declined my claim within 24 hours. Just because I think I know who is behind it doesn't mean I approved it or freely gave it away and I don't feel that it's right to fraud happen to me and then have a financial institution back it by letting them just get your money and go.

I’ve been a member with Chime maybe a year or more now. Things have been going fine until I recently got a credit alert that my score had dropped 11 points with one of the bureaus and 9 with the other, putting me down into the 600 range. The reason was showing that my credit balance had gone from approximately $256 to an $800 balance. The credit builder is, you put money in as you need it and spend it. I’ve NEVER had $800 in there OR have a balance due of $800. After contacting chime, no one can seem to help me or tell me why, but they want me to file a dispute. The department (at Chime) that handles this type situation, you cannot talk to a live agent. They will only deal with it through email.
When I did call, they had sent me to someone that took all the information but never told me it was the wrong department. They outsource everything out of the country so no one in the (Chime) banking system itself can tell me why they’re showing an $800 balance when there is NO BALANCE. I’m waiting on a dispute for a fraud charge to be sent back into my account. I’ve already transferred all of my money in the chime accounts to another bank, and once the fraud dispute gets settled I will no longer deal with Chime. This isn’t an isolated situation others I know have had the same problem.😡

I've read a lot of reviews on Chime banking. Many people have been with them for years and very happy. Some have had issues. I can't talk bad about chime banking. But I can let you know about my experiences with them. It takes about a good week to deposit a check. No matter the amount. I deposit a check Friday morning and will finally be available by Thursday after 8pm. I've heard of people depositing checks and available same day. I've heard of people that aren't able to deposit a check. Guess I'm kinda in the middle with for me takes forever to be cashed.

At one time I really liked banking with Chime but after I found out how they do things I don't find them as a favorite any more, Here's the last incident I encountered, A friend of mine asked me to help her out, she's going thru hard time, I chimed her some money thru the mobile app. She has chime also, anyhow she couldn't get into her chime account because she lost her phone service and chime wanted to send the prompts to her phone, this was May 30th. So I called chime June 3rd and tried explaining what happened, your gonna love this, the live agent told me she's gotta get into her account to refund me the money, I told her that if she's in her account she doesn't need to refund me the money. Gezzz. It went back and forth like that for a while. She just said I can't get a refund on that to send it to her another way, I've never heard of anything so ridiculous and I'm a CHIME + MEMBER , Yeah you all enjoy your day.

Chime customer service is so bad. I'm extremely frustrated! I requested an asset verification form on Tuesday morning. I explained this is an urgent request. I really needed it as I was in the process of applying for an apartment to get my son and I out of transitional housing. I was told by a Chime representative that my request could not be expedited and would be submitted to the necessary department and it would be emailed to me 24-48 hours from request time which would be by Thursday. After the call I get an email confirmation that the request is acknowledged and I would get a response soon. Okay cool.
I spent nearly 4 hours getting the run around about the status, once 48 hours passed and I still had not received it. The first rep I spoke to, Thamasis (felt like he lied about his name because he spelled it 3 different ways), was extremely rude and dismissive. I asked to be transferred to his supervisor. He placed me on hold for nearly 30 minutes and another rep, Michael who was not a supervisor, got on the line. He was a tiny bit less dismissive but promised he could help without a supervisor. Okay cool, he also placed me on hold several times and then ultimately explained he could not help. He refused to transfer to a supervisor but said he would need to transfer me to a different department.
I sat on hold for nearly 40 minutes before the call disconnected. I tried using the chat app, and the Ai repeated directed me to a link that was supposed to be the direct line to resolve my issue. I click it and get a call from a rep named Gaby who also was dismissive and placed me on several holds. This went on another 20-something minutes before she finally said she couldn't help because she worked in the fraud department and would need to transfer me to the correct department. After another 30 minutes or so, I get a rep named Andres. Who did something that prompted me to get another email confirming the request and someone would email the document. He was willing to get me to a supervisor. Another 20 minutes hold, and Joni, who claimed to be a supervisor, finally gets on the line.
Another one who was wildly dismissive. She stood firm on waiting until the 48 hours, as it's the policy, which is understandable but at that time it was well past that threshold. Okay, cool, let's get into this policy. I asked her what the time stamp on the original request was. She verified it was 11 am Tuesday morning. I double checked the time zone and asked if it was standard 24-48 hours or if it was 24-48 business hours.
She confirmed it was not business hours, just standard. I pointed out that it was well past the time I should have received and now out of the policy parameters. She became irrate when I called out the contradiction of the policy. Then switched up her story and said it could be after the 48 hours. Anyways, it's now Friday, and I still do not have the document and did not meet the deadline to get the apartment. I've been with Chime for years and have always had a terrible experience with customer service. They never pass up a moment to take from me, but can't be bothered to give me the bare minimum.

I'm a customer of Chime. I have my social security direct deposited in my Chime account. This heartless uncustomer friendly banking company don't care about you or anything that has to do with their customers. I went on vacation. Got stranded in the desert in Nevada. Walked ten miles to use my card to buy water..Tried to get into my account on my phone, with my phone number, my fingerprint and got a message from Chime that I needed to scan my ID... Mind you I just used biometrics my fingerprint that I set up for my account as security and suddenly while I'm stranded in the desert my fingerprint isn't good enough to get into my own account..Even after calling and verifying to chime support that it was indeed me and I was stranded in the desert they still insisted I scan my ID for proof it was me...
How have we come so far into this world of tech apps, technology, and AI that even after validating with chime support who I was, with my fingerprint, the security I set up on my account, could you as a "caring about your customers company be more worried about an ID scan than the human life of one of your customers stranded in a Nevada desert trying to get into their account to access their money in order to get water to survive on....I'm so disgusted by the actions and behavior of this company, they should literally be sued for leaving a human life one of their loyal customers for dead in a Nevada desert over a bullshit ID scan even though I already verified my identity with my fingerprint, phone number and a call to support..... Unreal.. I'm still in the desert and if I die cause of this. I want Chime boycotted.... Less than 1 star. Don't risk your life getting involved with this company. They do not have your back, they don't care about human life!!

I called chime with in moments and was transferred to fraud who said they would call us back. I returned to my group. Several participants made purchases and were still waiting for items.
Fraud department never called back. Out group blocked this person- if it was human- and never received goods with purchase through chime. I have called chime on 3 different occasions. Now it’s been 6 months. I lost 300.00 and there was no respectful response to my loss. The way to rectify this situation and for the public to not deal with chime. I called about this referral and was told that I had a Chime account opened in 2023 (not that I remember) so I said that wasn't me, so they closed my account. That's not the issue, closing the account is fine, THE ISSUE IS there is money from my current employer's direct deposit and Chime absolutely refused to refund that money, saying it's not in their policy. They outright stole this money from me and Chime is the worst company I have ever dealt with. DO NOT USE THEM.
