Midland offered me a “hardship benefit” to defer payments while I was struggling to pay my deceased son's mortgage and my own..I’m retired…I gladly accepted! After the hardship time frame, they put my son's home in foreclosure, despite the fact that I was started paying more than minimum payment, double or triple payments…He only owed 25 thousand on his mortgage…For reference, I also lost another child the month after the “hardship” ended…They are scammers!! Do not accept any so called help from this company!!! I’ve been fighting them in court for almost a year!!

I would give them less if I could. Tried to refinance years ago and they stated they were not licensed to operate in NY. If they are not licensed where my property resides what are they doing with my loan? Also I requested a payoff statement, and you cannot pay it off online or over the phone... Did I wake up in 1950? I would advise anyone to find any other lender to hold their mortgage. If I couldn't find someone else I would continue renting an apartment or live in a tent before I went with Midland!

I have had my home mortgage for 11 years & Midland Mortgage took it over from Sunwest about 8 years ago. I have had excellent customer service experiences. I have received documents when I have requested them. Their customer service is great. They do what they say they will do in a timely manner. I decided to stay with them & keep my current mortgage rather than refinancing or obtaining a Reverse Mortgage with another lender.

This company is playing with my insurance monies, it has been over 3 months since my insurance issued me a check and Midland Mortgage has had it in their hands. I’ve been waiting for disbursement of this check to fix property damage for 3 months!!! My insurance company had to stop payment on first check and re-issue another check, I’m still waiting. I’m told it must be lost in the mail, but yet I receive all my mortgage payment bills on time every month. Something is not right with this situation. I feel that they are using my monies for their benefit and I have to keep calling and requesting my monies only to be told that they’ll send a request in to management for approval.

After 359 payments from the same bank and same checking account, over the phone, the Midland Mortgage could not take my final payment over the phone, for….I don’t know why. They promised to send me a payoff notice, but didn’t, been waiting a couple of weeks. Now because the payment was overdue on the 16th, it is the 13th, they are going to assessment a late fee on the payoff….Because they wouldn’t let me pay it! And on top of that, they actually owe me a substantial amount for leftovers in the escrow account. I think it is just incompetence and fee grabbing. I owe less than $200, and they owe me about a $thousand.

These people are so incompetent! I spoke to them about my daughter doing a simple assumption and got all paperwork filled out and submitted. I called them several times to check on the progress. Each time I spoke to a different person. ALL knew that I was waiting to get released from the mortgage so I could get another mortgage with my husband. I called today and was told that I was not going to be released from liability. My daughter needs to complete a Lien Release form and show she can make the mortgage payment which takes 90 days!!! I even spoke to a manager and was told the same thing. I am furious that they are so incompetent and then make us wait another 90 days!! I would not recommend this mortgage company to anyone. They have to mail everything. No emailing, no texting. So frustrating!! DON’T USE MIDLAND MORTGAGE!!!

We have a problem with this company that called me a year ago and offered me a COVID-19 program for non-payments for 6 months that they only put them at the end of my total balance it only extended 6 months plus my mortgage, the 6 months passed and they called again that I was qualified for another 6 months under the same terms.

Now they are threaten me with foreclosure because I don't want to make the new terms that they want me to sign which are 13 more years and 8 percent interest; double of what I have now. I hope several people can make a class action lawsuit because I am not the only one harmed with their offers to help out and it’s to foreclose or pressure you to accept their terms. They deceived us and now Midland Mortgage not only pressures me to pay in full or the arrangements that they offered me if they were the ones who made the mistake. I was not looking for anything, they called me and offered me without knowing if they can approve me without Covid 19 program terms but it’s their error because they did not verified my information properly before offering a program that you need to be approved.

A few months back I switched to another insurance company, lowering our house insurance by $600. Recently our taxes increased by about $600. I was billed $146. for escrow shortage and an increase in mortgage payment which I don't believe was short anyway. I paid the shortage over the phone yesterday which should have kept the payments the same but was informed the payment would increase anyway. I was told that payment was only for the first half of the year so I asked to pay the other half.

I was refused then was told there was no record of a payment being made. After I threatened to file a lawsuit they "found" the missing payment with a reference number. I feel certain this will be bogus as next month rolls around and they can charge an even higher mortgage payment with the lie "no payment" was made. I called the Ohio Attorney General's office and filed a complaint against Midland Mortgage and was also given another number for Pro Seniors that provides me with an attorney to speak with. They really seem sincere in wanting to help and I hope this can help others who don't know where to start or look for help.

I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the way Midland Mortgage has handled my escrow account. As a customer, I have encountered numerous issues that have left me frustrated and disappointed. The primary concern revolves around the projection of escrow payments for the calendar year 2025. Midland Mortgage has projected payments that are double the previous year, despite the fact that my insurance company, Home Owners of America, has not yet conducted an assessment and is expected to reduce my payment. This discrepancy raises serious questions about the accuracy and fairness of Midland Mortgage's escrow management practices.

While I appreciate the assistance provided by the customer service representative during my interactions, it is evident that the company as a whole lacks effective communication and coordination between departments. There is a consistent disconnect that has resulted in a lack of transparency and clarity regarding the handling of customer accounts.

I believe it is imperative for upper management at Midland Mortgage to be made aware of these issues and take immediate action to address them. The company's approach to managing customer accounts is not only inefficient but also reflects poorly on its reputation. It is crucial for Midland Mortgage to make significant changes in its practices to better serve its customers and ensure a more seamless experience. I urge upper management to review and rectify the discrepancies in the escrow projections for 2025 and to implement measures that foster better communication and coordination among departments. As a customer, I expect a higher standard of service and transparency in financial dealings.

In conclusion, my experience with Midland Mortgage has been disappointing, and I hope that my feedback prompts the necessary improvements within the company to better meet the needs of its customers.

We are all dealing with similar issues and with forbearance during Cov-19 and they are refusing to offer any programs or alternatives. Complaining here won't do much for your case.

My mother's mortgage was sold to Midland in February 2023 right after her husband died and the COVID deferments ran out. Took over a month to be able to access the account and any attempt for loss mitigation has been denied. We've been working with the emergency mortgage assistance program to help pay the late amount but Midland ignored all of their attempts to contact them for months. It took multiple government representatives reaching out for them to finally respond last week. The house goes to auction in a couple of weeks and I'm beginning to think that Midland is just sandbagging us to make sure that there's no way for us to keep the house. They dragged it out so long and tacked on so many outrageous fees that the amount owed is now more than the max amount that the grant covers. Do not willingly go with this company. If you have other options, use them.

They stated that there would be options at the end of the forbearance. When the forbearance was over we applied for a modification. We keep applying and they keep denying it. They say that they want to keep us in our home but they have no solutions. We are in our mid 60s and are working and are paying the mortgage monthly. They have not given us any options for the arrears and there is no one to escalate the matter to. We own two other properties. One of which is a conventional mortgage and those banks immediately gave us modifications on pace the Covid forbearance period was over and we are current. We are reaching out to get some assistance in working with this impossible situation.

My mortgage was bought by Midland Mortgage in December of 2022. It took four months for my payments to show up at the credit bureau… This is due to the fact that they don’t report your payment until 2 or 3 months later. It is the end of June and April’s payments haven’t been reported yet!!! This makes it nearly impossible to refinance because a lender cannot see your updated payment history. I’ve placed multiple phone calls, written numerous emails, and get a different answer every time. No one follows through with what they tell you they will do. Their customer service is horrible. If anything gets escalated then you have to email a different department and hope that you hear a response back. Buyers beware!!! Do not do business with Midland Mortgage!!! If I could give negative stars I would!!!

Some of the people have been nice but one who barely spoke English was very rude and outright lied claiming they sent paperwork and was left at residence but apparently not mine saying it was the law. What a lie. Looked it up and it doesn’t exist. Asked for a supervisor who was nice but confused. Explained what was going on but we will have to see what happens. I was approved for a grant to bring my mortgage current. Midland Mortgage call me in September to go over the remaining payments amount. They gave me 3 options with the grant amount. They also said I couldn’t pay the remaining balance cash that I had to do an interest free FHA loan for the remaining balance. They sent paperwork out to be signed before December 5, 2020, for the interest-free loan and told me the grant from the state would be applied in about 3 days give them a week and everything should be current by then but you pay for your mortgage payment on January 1, 2023. That was done.

Then I was about to pay the February payment and I received a letter by mail stating that I had an outstanding balance so I phone them and that's when I was informed that the grant was never applied and they never had sent information to the state. I call back on Friday, February 3, and talked to a note from one of their employees and she informed me that they just sent the paperwork out on Thursday, February 2. I called back today Monday, February 6, and was informed that they sent it out on September 18, 2022, and that the state refuses to send them the money. I'll be contacting the state in the morning to see where this matter stands. I'll keep y'all posted on this matter

My mortgage was sold to MM from CitiMortgage in 2015. MM received my loan with what was presented to me as a FHA HAMP Loan Modification that was listed as completed in May 2014. I made many, many trial payments before the modification was “signed” as completed finally in October 2014, then my loan was sold to MM. Fast forward to the present day-I’ve found out that the loan modification that I am still being held to was not a FHA HAMP loan modification! What was done, was processed as a forbearance agreement without my notification or my consent. It was NOT completed in May 2014, and it was sold fraudulently to MM. MM was aware, and they decided to continue the fraudulent practices from March 2015 to present.

I am currently waiting for the US Department of FHA & HUD to send additional information to me after their review of my entire loan, possibly before I take all of my documentation that shows EVERYTHING that was done to the public. Please review every statement, escrow analysis, and document from this company, they are as corrupt as they come. Stay tuned…

They hit you with unrelated fees monthly and wait 6 months before reimbursement, they violate RESPA on a daily occurrence and the CFBP does nothing. I've file 3 complaints with the CFPB and that still doesn't get their attention. Their associates are like talking to a wall and if I could see the looks on their faces they probably look like a deer got caught in headlights. I will continue to file complaints against them. Hopefully they will get fed up and sell my loan.

Our loan was bought out by this company during our CARES Act mortgage forbearance. We had signed the loan modification to restart our loan and kick everything to the back. While the signed papers were in transit, Midland bought out our mortgage. It has been hell since. First they didn't accept the agreement signed from our previous bank. Didn't contact us for two months, we didn't know who bought our loan, just that it had been bought. The staff that answers the phone and who you are transferred to are some of the most incompetent individuals I've ever dealt with. They talk over you, answer questions you didn't ask, EVERYTHING takes 3-5 business days.. Even though 3-5 business days has turned into 5 months trying to get something concrete with these people. They will say something in one sentence and contradict what they said the next.

They were trying to put the $25k we owed from the forbearance into a $40k extra loan! So I found a company to help pay the $25k. Well to keep it under the $25k has now cost over $6400 while in waiting for them to send ONE email. While they keep charging late fees and every other rep states, I'm sending the email now..lol. If you have a choice, STAY AWAY. We don't have that choice right now.

I very rarely write reviews but after seeing all the negative reviews I had to respond. Our mortgage was purchased by My Midland Mortgage from Citimortgage about 10 years ago. From the start I have never in 10 years had 1 problem! I love the online portal to handle all your payments, payoff options, to receive tax and escrow information. Midland was the reason that I found out that the original seller of my home, had STOLEN it back and place the deed back in his name. How was this possible? I have no clue but upon receiving my escrow balance and showed a -negative balance and my mortgage increase $100 out of nowhere.

I made the call to later find out this had been done in 2006. We purchased the home in 2000. That lead me to the tax accessor office, which is was advised to file a police report to later find out the seller died in 2007. Mortgage was reduced, taxes was corrected old seller was receiving all homestead exemptions which case this problem. Also Midland has and incentive program if you pay your mortgage on time at the end of 5 years you could earn up $5000 applied to your principal balance. Well Dec 2020 I received the incentive just as promised which reduced my principal balance. Upon me preparing to sell our home which I'm sadden that I will be losing Midland as my mortgage company I then realized our payoff was $5000 less than I original thought... Thank you Midland Mortgage for all the wonderful years that you serviced our Mortgage. #Blessings
