Terrible experience with their customer service representatives. They constantly try to argue with you and interrogate you. I constantly ask to accept the payment. They won't accept the payment without interrogating you first. The call constantly drops or gets disconnected and they don't accept discover debit cards. One agent attitude was so terrible. I asked to speak to someone else he said, "No you have to call back". Another agent kept asking me questions. I told her please just accept the payment cause am in a rush. She said, "Do you want to call back," as if she's trying to say am gonna sit and listen to her questions. I do not recommend this company at all.

I want the title so I can junk it.

I AM A DEALER WITH EXPERIENCE SELLING ACCOUNTS TO MAF. I will NEVER do business with Mid Atlantic Finance company again. The first few bulk deals we did with them went well, but the last two were beyond disastrous. They're SO disorganized, and at the same time they're aggressive with customers. At this point, they've embarrassed us with so many customers, destroyed so many relationships, lost so many payments it's impossible to recount it all. What a nightmare. Don't do it. You'll also never receive a dollar of the bonus pool. Take your accounts ANYWHERE else, even if the offer is lower. Dealing with MAF is horrendous. Absolutely NOT worth it.

Since I started with this company, I have had problems. Since starting with this company whom I did not choose Citi motors chose them. I answered AI for my car payment on the first of September, payment was due August 29th did not process my payment because of a mistake with AI then put a hard inquiry on my credit knocking my credit 10 points. After calling yesterday and paying the payment also late fee, also putting my car payment on auto pay they put another hard inquiry on my credit knocking it down another point. I am really not happy with this company.

If your vehicle has been financed through Mid-Atlantic be prepared to give up the cash because you are going to be robbed. I record all of my phone conversations with them and from the very first conversation that I recorded I was told that my price would not change. It has went up quite a bit. The interest is high. I make my payments months in advance so that it does not catch up to me. But the best thing to do is to pay the vehicle off completely and get out from under them try not to do it again. It is not the staff in my opinion they are only doing what they're being paid to do but the policies of the company itself.

I have been speaking with the staff trying to get some things cleared up and some things changed however nothing really seems to be working as far as that is concerned in my opinion. But it is the policies of the company itself I believe that is the main rip off so if you do purchase a car from any dealership find out who the finance company is and if it is Mid-Atlantic I would suggest either paying the car off outright or going somewhere else!

My account gets drafted on a third of every month. It didn't get drafted this past month. When I called they said that the account balance is so low that the system automatically will take it out in April. I asked why I'm not going to pay that much interest. And then I change the draft date to February 3rd missing a month, no big deal. Today on the 28th the money came out of my account. I called Mid-Atlantic a couple times, never swore, never said anything derogatory or mean. By two employees as well as the four supervisor they hung up on me after I question what they were doing. I would have never went to this company. I have a great credit score, I was just down in my luck and had to buy something real quick and that small car lot sold my contract to these guys. Now I wonder how much I'm going to have to pay extra?? I would never send anybody to Mid-Atlantic ever. And they're not even Better Business Bureau accredited? Makes you wonder huh.

Absolutely the worst experience I've had. They never gave me an account number so I have no way of paying my car note. So I'm just waiting for them to come take my car so I can use. Every time I call I'm on hold for 3 hours and then it hangs up on me. This is actually ridiculous. I wasn't even told they bought my loan and they kept spam calling me and then when I finally got something in the mail they said I was 14 days overdue and that was 2 weeks ago. How is that possible if I paid my car note with my dealership for those 14 days.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They are 100% crooks. If a company is in it just for the money it's Mid-Atlantic. I got caught up in this crap for them buying my account. I never signed a piece of paper or contract from day one. Their question was how was the vehicle. I told them I have driven it 3 times out of the whole time having it. It's been in the shop for repairs. It's still in the shop needing repairs and the dealership was asking Mid-Atlantic to fix it and they said no. If it was still with the dealership they would have fixed it or replaced. I have forked out thousands and lost thousands because of work. Mid-Atlantic will not budge and I am not paying another dime. Already bad enough when you pay $700 and $300 go towards the vehicle and the rest is fees!!!!

Today I made a payment towards a Car loan that I have with Mid Atlantic. I spoke with a CR Rep named Ludy to process a payment over the phone. I successfully processed the payment however during the disclaimer there were a few details that I was uncertain about. I calmly waited till the disclaimer was read and then I presented my question, which entitled if there would be extra fees or charges added to the transaction while processing the payment. I was told if I was processing a payment by credit card I would be expected to pay additional fees administered by the institution however since I was paying using my debit card I would only be obligated to cover the six dollar transaction fee used to process the payment.

I spent several years in customer/IT which make me feel disappointed with the overall interaction that this rep displayed. Especially since it's a financial institution. Her variation of tone to my opinion was not in correlation to our topic of discussion. For example, my approach would have been "Good morning Mr. Johnson, I will be more than happy to process your payment today. I would also like to bring this to your attention that if you're making a payment using a credit card there may be additional fees assessed to the payment by your financial institution. However if you're processing a payment via debit there will be a one time service fee of six dollars to process the payment. I also see that you paid a extra 49 dollars on your last payment with that being said your normal payment for this pay cycle will be reduce accordingly."

I asked her about a previous payment and what was the pay differential for this cycle. She mentioned she didn't know she had to find out. I would have responded "Bear with me one moment, I will be more than happy to gather that information for you". Overall it sounds like Ludy could potentially be a great employee, however there are a few details that she needs to work on.

I called because I had a question on how they come up with finance charges, they told me they weren't responsible for any of that and to take it up with the dealership, the dealership told me to take it up with Mid-Atlantic and they were responsible. After going back and forth 4 times to get an answer I had other questions. I asked Mid-Atlantic for a copy of my contract and they sent me 1 page which was the retail installment contract.

I called back to ask for the whole contract and the account manager by the name of Erica told me, "We already sent you one," when I told her it was what I asked for and I needed the whole contract she then complained there were a lot of papers then proceeded to ask what I needed it for. I told her that was my business. She then got nasty with me and said get it from the dealership. I asked if she was refusing to give me a copy of my contract and said , "If so you will hear from my lawyer," she then proceeded to say "well since you're looking for legal advice I'm terminating the call, call back when you have your lawyer present". That's the quick version. Don't deal with these people, they are super rude and I'm filing a complaint. Also an earlier call I was threaten by one of their reps that they are calling the police on me if I didn't pay the note because I was late paying.

My experience started when I purchased my vehicle through a local car dealership where I live. Everything was fine until one day I kept getting calls from a MID-ATLANTIC company, I had no clue what they were calling about! And they’d leave voicemails they needed my information and vehicle info. I was iffy. So I contacted the dealership where they finally told me what MidAtlantic wanted and why they were trying to locate me. I was upset at first. I didn’t know these changes happen without me being notified first!

After a couple months, I’d contact them regarding my payments, and they are all RUDE! Don’t let you explain & hard to understand. After that call, a couple weeks passed and they started contacting me nonstop. Letting me know I was behind on payments, when I clearly enter it as auto pay and they would take it out of my bank account. Well according to them, it wasn’t but they took the money out (I had my bank statements). They never fixed the issue. I’d try and speak to higher authorities and I was neglected and never transferred, they’d prefer to hung up the call or just not listen to me!! It was annoying!! I couldn’t believe their lack of customer service skills!

Today I had another situation I woke up to! They emailed me claiming they’d repo my vehicle due to again no payments given. When I have autopay. I was outraged! I called and they were rude and I needed to pay the full balance in order to stop the repo and if it got to that point I’d have to pay the missing payment and repo fee of $350, ridiculous! They weren’t understanding of the situation. They were ALL rude, everyone and anyone of them who picks up the line. I wanna just pay them off and leave MidAtlantic. But seeing all these reviews of payoffs kinda makes me question it now. Never make this mistake and do business with these people! I work with collections agency as well and we are nowhere as rude as these people are!!!! Do NOT TRUST MidAtlantic!!

Finally, I got a so-called supervisor who was even worse. Bottom line they wanted my car get money I did not owe. They are NOT registered with the BBB. I did reach out to the Federal Trade Commission which has hundreds of complaints as well. BEWARE, DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DEALER TO SELL YOUR LOAN MID-ATLANTIC. It’s all over the web.

Now the couple of times I was late on a payment, they were harassing me each day like clockwork, threatening me with repossession. The customer service is not cooperative, instead antagonistic. Several times I was hung up on and ridiculed. Management is no better, having you believe they are doing you a favor, yet never leaving notes for future representatives to review. I, like so many others, bought a car from a dealership and started receiving phone calls from MAF stating my payments were late when my payments were autodrafted by the dealership on the due date every two weeks. At first, not knowing who they were or why they were asking about my car loan, I made them prove who they were. I went by the dealership and confirmed that they did indeed purchase my car loan from the dealership. At this moment I was told MAF is the actual lien holder to the car I had a note against. Once I verified that they had a reason to be calling, I then started sending proof of my on time payments to clear up any misunderstandings regarding late payments. Fast forward a month... I get a call from my mother stating that someone just drove off in my car. I called the cops and reported it stolen. I called the dealership to make sure that they didn't repossess due to the confusion with my payments.

The police took a report and were a little confused about the dealership and the finance company and who was the actual lien holder to my car. MAF and the dealership both stated that MAF was the actual lien holder and that is what was reported to the police. The police contacted MAF and MAF stated that my car was absolutely not repossessed due to non payment and that the dealership did not have authorization to repossess it. The dealership waited a full week to respond to the officer that was investigating my stolen car...

Until...about two weeks later, I called the police in my area and also the jurisdiction that resides over the dealership. The dealership was then ready to communicate on the issue. They reported that they repossessed my car due to non payment. My local police department did a little digging and found that the actual lien holder was in fact the dealership. On top of all of this new and intriguing information, the dealership was also ready to speak to me. A representative called me and informed me that my son, which I do not have a son, called and reported mechanical repairs on my car and that I would need to pay then almost $800.00 to get my vehicle back. The dealership had used this excuse to use the GPS system to locate my vehicle 60 miles away, got in it, and drove off. Then used the excuse of me payment late to get out of legal trouble.

I was not late and I didn't request repairs nor did anyone in my family request repairs. The vehicle was taken off the stolen list. This is not where the story ends. I was in contact with MAF the entire time. They knew the dealership took place in an illegal repossession and involved their legal team. Three months later...I get an alert showing a late payment on my credit report. I also receive a letter in the mail saying MAF is going to repossess my car. I called six times, got hung up on, left messages. Then I finally get a hold of Jobana; my account manager. She proceeded to tell me that MAF is not in possession of the vehicle and that I am responsible for payment to them. These people are crooks. Period. End of story.

Great man great dealership but for some reason my loan was sold to MAF after my PCM went out 2 months after I bought it as well as rusted wirings. A total of $5500 of parts. I brought it to him. He said there was nothing he could do since MAF now had the loan. He then told me they never gave him a dime for the 40 loans he sold them because they told them they weren't up to par. Well 3 years later now my booklet said I paid my car off 5 months ago and I called to get an estimate of what I owe they tell me 4500???? I also put 2500 down to get the car?

So I called the original dealer to ask for advice and they told me to get a lawyer and call the BBC she remembered me as well and told me also that MAF called 2 weeks ago wanting more loans from them.... Now why would they do that if the original ones weren't up to their standings? CORRUPT PONZIS THIEVES!!!! How can a 6800 car I buy with 2500 down making it 4300 and payments of 300 a month for 3 years equallying to 11500 and I still owe 4500?? Two years ago I started purchasing a car through a dealership called Wingo Wheels in Heflin Alabama. Well for some reason Wingo Wheels sold out to Mid Atlantic without me having any acknowledgment so as normal I kept going to Wingo Wheels to make payment. After two month of me paying Wingo Wheels I was contacted by Mid Atlantic saying they were going to repo my car and I'm like, "What are you talking about?" Then they tell me they bought out Wingo Wheels. I had to send Mid Atlantic proof I was paying Wingo Wheels so I did. I emailed them the proof I paid off my car just recently and they have failed to send me my title. I have contacted Mid Atlantic and they keep telling me one thing after the other and giving me a runaround.

I finally got in touch with the title department and they gave me the runaround all day. I had to go to get proof from MH Bank that I have paid them off. I sent them the email and confirmed it has been paid off. The lady at Mid Atlantic was supposed to call me back when she got the email. I have waited all day. Called her back myself and guess what they are gone for the day so I have made copies of all my proof the car is paid off and I'm seeking the BBB. I have called and they are sending me out a complaint form and I have to prove to them the car was paid off.

This looks like a long headache for me to get a title for a car. I paid way too much money for to begin with and I know how crooked people are. I have went to my local police department and my car won't be towed from my yard just in case Mid Atlantic tries to pull some crap the police have seen proof that my car is paid off. I was told to contact them if any repo truck pulls up in my yard. So my advice is if you can get out of paying or financing a car through Mid Atlantic you need to run away because they are definitely a crooked company.

Please do not fall into their deceptive traps... The BBB should investigate them.

This company is awful. They took over my loan and it has been a nightmare since then. As soon as they got it they said I was late. People were nasty and not knowledgeable at all. Then they kept calling my job only to hear me say I will pay next week. I finally had to threaten that I was recording the calls and got an attorney before they would stop. Without question the worst business I have ever dealt with. 3 more payments to go I hope and see you bye bye.

Ever since my car loan got bought out by these people my payment has "always been late" or they say they never got it when in my bank account it clearly shows they got it. Then they took out a payment today over 500 bucks. Only 81 bucks of it was approved. This company is horrible and needs to be shut down.

Car loan - Was on time until they unexpectedly bought my loan just to ruin my credit. They are calling everyday just to get told the same information I told them the day before. I refuse to answer their calls anymore. They are rude and keep asking you the same questions over and over. I wish I had the choice for them to not purchase my loan. I will be filing harassment against them. They say I'm 300 behind and that they haven't received any payments that I've mailed to them in over a month. Worst company ever. Needs to be shut down by the FTC and BBB.

I been paying my car on time, one day I was informed that my acct is been sold to this company. On March I did 2 payments, the balance at that time was 1200 even, now in May I was ready to do May payment and I find out that the balance is 865.00. I did call the company and they states interest are base of total payments are 29 so practically they are charging or punished me for do payments in advance. I'm trying to pay off the balance of course and they said should be wait until next week because they need to calculate the balance. I don't understand why. If the balance is 665 how much more I need to pay to close the acct with them. Looks like and will be responsible for the interest they should not getting from me if I close the acct now. This is a company that abuse the people.

My car loan was in perfect standing until they bought the account without my knowledge. Now my normal autopay that I make is coming out every time, but because it was being taken out by the original finance company and then transferred to them without me knowing about it, they trashed my credit rating saying I'm late and missing payments when I have the proof that each and every payment was made. I worked my ** off to rebuild my credit into the 750 range and thanks to them I went down into the 400s overnight and they won't report it in error. I'm done with them, I just purchased a NEW car for less than what these shysters were charging me! ABSOLUTE CON-ARTISTS. They can go to hell.

Worst finance in the world. My account was transferred to this company without my consent or knowledge. They lie and are rude. They turn your car off without warning or a phone call. I have always paid 2 weeks and it's been a problem every time. I hate their service over the phone, they are not helpful. I don't know what the balance is on my account because I cannot view it online.

I bought a car through Rhodes Auto Sales. After a few months MA took over. I didn't even know about it too. I called about my car being flooded. Now to speed up they repo my car Friday night after I gave them 540.00 dollars on my account. I was behind 1350 due to a job loss but they say they was gonna defer the payments 2 weeks ago. Now my car is gone. They put most of the money towards interest when they know I was trying to catch up and I told them I would pay the balance off soon as tax money hit. They a rip off. Rude as hell. I want to sue this company. I'm single and trying to make it with health issues but I gave them 540.00 dollars to come get my car. I'm pissed.

I have been making payments with this company for almost a year now. I have asked on several occasions for them to send me a copy of my payment history. Every time I call in I have trouble actually making the payments. In the beginning we could only pay by bank account or MoneyGram. So I started paying with MoneyGram. 2/1/2017 I made a payment for $200 and called in on 2/2/2017 to make the payment. A lady told me the payment was pending and I asked her what did that mean? She told me that the payment hadn't posted yet but that it could be because I made the MoneyGram payment after 3 pm. So I said okay and that I would call in another $200 on Friday 2/3.

I called in today to make my payment and was told the same. Payment was pending and I asked about the day before and I was told that they didn't see a payment only the one from today. I asked for a supervisor and was told the supervisor didn't have time to take the call. So I started fussing and the guy transferred me to another lady who claimed she was a manager in a different city and I needed to get in touch with my account manager to find out what was going on. I asked the lady "How did I get to another city and I called number I always call?" She said got smart and I asked her if there was someone above her to speak to and she told me I could hang up and call back. I told her I was at work and had spent 45 mins already on hold. I didn't want to hang up and call back. I asked her what was her name and she told me I could hold and put me on hold for over 5 mins.

While on hold another person got on the phone and I could hear them talking about me in the background. I told them I could hear them and that I needed to speak to someone NOW!!! Another person got on the line and basically lied and did the same thing. I had read so many bad reviews on this company. It's not funny. They shouldn't even still be in business.

I financed a vehicle through Rhodes Auto Sales. It was a 3 year loan and never had a problem. Several months ago Mid Atlantic Finance bought out the loan (without my knowledge). I was contacted a month later (by then I had late fees) as to where to make the payment. By the time Mid Atlantic bought out my loan I had already paid more than 2 years on my vehicle. I was in a car accident on Sept 22, 2016. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. WHY, 40 days later, (with 7 months left on the original loan) when Insurance is ready to issue payment, do I still owe almost $8,000 on my loan (original loan amount was $15k)??? And accumulating interest EVERYDAY until they get the check!!

Did they tack on several thousand to my loan when they bought it from Rhodes?? WTH??? So what happened to all the money I've paid over the past 2.5 years?? This has to be illegal or there has to be something that can be done!! It doesn't take a genius to be a customer service rep, but it may require common sense none of which Mid Atlantic has!!! Their customer service reps are rude as hell and obviously highly uneducated. They seriously lack common sense!! I'm suing somebody. And it's not about the money in this case, it's simply principle. I don't care how much legal fees cost, I don't care if I pay out the **. If it takes this scum off the street, then every penny spent will be well worth it!!!

I have good credit. Bought a car for my son. I supervised the payments. Never missed one. Never late. He knew if he missed one. I would take car. Loan sold to Mid Atlantic. He had proof he paid original loan company. We start getting nasty calls from Mid-Atlantic. We had no idea who they were. We sent them proof of payments. Nope they were not having it. I even got dealer involved. Long story short. A nightmare. Rude people. They shut my son's car off leaving him stranded. So we paid car off to end this nightmare. Still waiting for title. Three months. Still processing payment. Good thing my brother is a lawyer. He sent them a letter. I will take them to court for damages. Horrible place.

They wait till you pay your last note. They tell you your title will come in the mail... weeks pass. You wake in the morning, look outside, boom, your van is gone. You call them. They tell you, you owe them late fees. I paid for my van in full. Now I have late fees, tow fees. I have a bad heart, high blood. I need my van.

First of all, I am so sorry to hear all this crap about MAF and I wish I would have known earlier. As a small business owner, when we do in house finance, all that money, our investment is "on the 'street" is a risk to lend money. Sometimes we get our payments late and people don't understand that a small business needs those payments to be able to pay bills and employees and stay at float just like any household. So we had the chance and the offer to sell a package of accounts for less than the total amount owed to us, but we would get the money up front, with a bonus pool check when all the accounts were paid off. Thanks God we only sold 7 accounts to MAF. They were 0% APR contracts and the customers finished paying off their vehicles.

It was a nightmare for our customers, and we did informed them about the accounts being sold. We thought it would be good, because they would be able to pay a bank at 0% APR no interest and get their credit score up. Well, they did, but it wasn't pleasant, and at the end of the day, we as a dealer, still waiting on the closing bonus pool check they are supposed to pay us since all our customers paid off their accounts. It's been a year since all accounts have been closed, and all I hear is, "I will get back with you, let me find out"! I'm going to my lawyer and in the name of other Dealers, let me tell you I'm so sorry. This experience is unpleasant to both ends, and you have to be a MF to keep selling accounts to these thieves!
