Great experience... website is easy to understand and use. I have only good things to say about using a Merrick Bank card.

Called in regarding being double billed, customer service rep didn't seem to know why. I've had the card several years with a great score (700's) with no CLI for whatever reason, never late, never carry a balance, pay in full for small charges. Can't say that it didn't help my score but right now it's hurting being such a low limit, with all of the prime cards I have with generous limits, I have to cancel Merrick.

Merrick was the first new credit card I got after clearing up prior debts and a foreclosure through bankruptcy. I was very reluctant to open a new account, but also knew I needed to begin to rehabilitate my credit. Merrick's application and approval process was fair, and the information provided by them regarding fees was honest. I have been very careful to ensure my minimums and usually more were paid each month, and I have appreciated their timely reminders of statements online. I would absolutely recommend them to a friend going through the same financial issues.

Very satisfied with the benefits that the Merrick Experience has afforded me. Recognition of my payment status with the increase in available credit has re-established a higher credit score. Once again, I am very pleased with the affordable options of the Merrick Card.

Best credit card experience I have had in a long time. As dumb as this sounds, they send their statements on time. When I called about a charge, they immediately got back to me. Very polite with good information. Very happy with this bank!! Will recommend to everyone and will keep for the rest of my time.

Contacted customer service to inquire about the credit limit increase that was scheduled on occur in November per the pre-approved authorization notice that prompted me to register for this card. The CSR reacted as if my call was an inconvenience to her and tone suggested that I should have known that the increase would occur on 12/29/2015. Very unpleasant. It was obvious that this company only serves the population with credit challenges.

Thus far my experience with Merrick Bank has been very pleasant. They do what they say, and I am very pleased to be a cardholder and yes I would recommend this card to a friend.

I have had an account with Merrick Bank for years. I get a statement in the mail every month despite signing up for electronic invoices and I pay my bill every month. I kept getting emails from them saying they were unable to deliver to my address (despite getting bill every month) and to click on the link to verify my account. I just assumed it was phishing email, who in their right mind will click on that sort link these days.

Started with them when they were affiliated with Geico. Paid always on time. As they stopped their business with Geico they canceled my account. Called customer services because they were charging me 4.00 a month even with my cancelled account. They refused to waive the charge. Thanks God I pay in full. Will never do business with them again.

After writing this review, my account was re-opened. If for any reason you close your bank account be sure to stop any automatic payments before hand or your account will be closed if a payment is returned for a closed bank account. In my case, I closed my account to prevent fraud and was unable to cancel the pending payment.

I've had an account with Merrick Bank Secured Credit Card for around 4 years now. The initial experience was fairly easy. But years later I decided to close the card and was told after 10 minutes of trying to convince me to keep my card open that they would close my card. I was told it would take 2 months to get my money back. A month later I called back because I was getting emails about my new statements being ready??!

This is one of the easiest credit card companies I have ever dealt with. Their customer service reps are friendly and knowledgeable. Customer service is easy to contact and they are able to handle just about any issue. If you are looking for a good credit card to help raise your credit score I would recommend this one.

My checking account where my monthly auto payments to Merrick Bank was compromised. My checking account was frozen for any outgoing account, during that time I have a pending payment to Merrick Bank. My checking account fraud specialist stated that she is not sure if that payment will go through. When I checked online the payment was posted. The following week I got a mail from Merrick that the payment was returned due to checking account was frozen. I immediately paid off whatever is the balance using my new checking account. I followed up and the payment was applied but still my available credit is zero.

Great card but I just wish my interest rate was lower and my credit limit was a little bit higher. If I had about an 3000 dollar limit with a lower interest rate I would have rated this 5 stars. Customer service is good, the app needs to be more up to date. Other than these few things this is a good card to have if you are starting to build credit. Rewards are not as great as my Amex or Capital One card but like I said this is a good starter card.

I've had my account for several months now, they don't keep up with my transactions with my spending so I never know really how and what I've used my card for and the true amount that I am able to use out of my balance. When I have changed payment dates which I have only done one time I got charged for non payment because they didn't update my payment status so I was charged late fees and when I called them and told them they never returned my late charge and they were the ones I called to change my payment date. I just wish I could use my account without having to worry about overspending. They need to keep up with account status. Also I have never gotten any credit increase, I've had my account since the beginning of the year.

Merrick bank has excellent customer service and I appreciate all they have done to help me.

Payment - Fast and secure!!!

So far dealing with Merrick Bank has been pleasurable.

I have no complaints about the user part of my credit card but I would like to not have a fee on top of the interest. Then I am paying interest on the fees. I appreciate the raised credit limit because it came in handy during a difficult time. Since I have made timely payments and usually pay more than the minimum payment I think that my credit score should be a bit higher to reflect that I do so.

This card was recommended to me by a family member. I've found that with bad credit, many banks are not willing to take a risk in someone trying to rebuild their credit. Merrick Bank gave me a chance to not only rebuild my credit, but to prove myself as a reformed credit risk. My credit score has increased since obtaining Merrick's card and they have surprised me multiple times by increasing my credit line without me having to ask. I would recommend this card as a great starter card to anyone looking for a second chance. The only thing I would change is the higher interest rate but, when you're a risk, you take the good with the bad!

The man on the phone when I called about an e-mail I had received was wonderful.

I've only had to call one time about credit increase. My question was answered in a timely manner. The representative was very friendly, took care of all my concerns and we were done. I would recommend anyone to Merrick Bank. Good experience so far.

Can NEVER get right into the website, have to call customer service and tell them I'm locked out again. Nothing changes, I have my password saved to my computer, so there SHOULD not be any problems. I just QUIT using the website. Other than that, the bank is GREAT.

They treated me like I had millions in their bank. They were very knowledgeable about finances that I asked questions about. I feel very confident that they have my best interests considered.

I do not remember any contact with you in recent times. I have no complaints with your card, how I am treated, nor any other negative comments. I have nothing but good things to say about Merrick Bank. I was offered a card with $550 limit in March 2015. My letter stated that as long as I made my payments ON TIME, my limit would be raised to $1100 in 6 months. And that is what happened, no questions ask. Around the beginning of November 2015 my limit was raised. Thank you for helping me to improve my credit history!

Customer service representatives are very professional and courteous! They are always willing to answer questions and assist in any way that they can. Thank you.

My only complaint is that I was charged a late fee for a payment that was post marked before my due date. In fairness, I probably should have sent it out a few days earlier. Other than that one incident, everything has been fair and straightforward.

Merrick Bank offers exceptional services to their customers. They are polite and friendly over the phone and the web services are very easy to use.

This is the best card to re-establish your credit. I started out with $700.00 then added another $300.00. Making timely payments Merrick Card added to my initial deposit more and more and increased my credit line. Very happy with the mobile app as well. Overall I have recommend this card to several of my friends and family.

I was generally happy with Merrick Bank. I asked for a certain Credit Line, and I received it. Payments were made easily online. I didn't get bombarded with phone calls or emails from Merrick, which is always a plus. Lastly, it's a nice touch that I could design my own credit card style. Now that I've paid off my balance, I'll still keep my account open.

They raised my credit limit for paying on time for 6 months. I really appreciated it and got a lot of cool stuff. It came just in time because I was able to buy groceries with it. I got a few fun things too. They have really helped me relax. The adult coloring books are the new craze. I was able to get a few of those. Thanks for rewarding me. :)

Have had the card since April of this year. Have had no problems whatsoever. Customer service has been good, quick to answer any question I have had. Came through with the credit line increase after seven months just like they said they would. No complaints. Good experience...

I had an earlier dispute with unauthorized charges to my acct. in the way of $350.00 dollars. When it was brought to my attention, you (Merrick) went through the proper channels and obviously found the fraud. Out of the $350.00 dollars of bogus charges you found your way clear to refund me $310.00 dollars. When I called to inquire, I was told the case was still open, it has been months since then, and I was wondering if I was going to be credited the $40.00 dollars still out with that bogus charge. I was told I wouldn't have to pay for fraud, thank you, however, I'm still waiting for the full amount refunded.

Merrick Bank has been wonderful to work with. They have gave us a sense of trust in building our credit. I would recommend them to anyone who needs help building their credit.

So far I've been very pleased with Merrick's service. I like that you offer other opportunities such as a gas card and Walmart card, which makes shopping and paying more convenient. I've also found Customer Service agents courteous and knowledgeable.

I appreciate the fact that you don't continually send advertised specials. A lot of Bank Cards send promotional spam almost on a daily basis. That shows me that they promote excessive spending on unneeded items paying with their Bank Card.

This is a company when you exercise your rights under the law they just go and cancel your account to get even.

I have used the Merrick Bank Credit card when needed and paid it off fairly quickly so as not to incur a lot of interest because the interest they charge is very high (20%+). I used it in an emergency and keep it open in case of another emergency or if I need a quick transaction and I don't have another source of credit at my disposal. I needed a credit source after my bankruptcy and they were willing to provide me one.

Always great customer service. Polite and efficient. Auto service is also quick and easy!

Someone stole my credit card information and made various charges (351.88). I submitted paperwork that was sent to me for a lesser amount due to lack of data on 10/16/15. Today I received my electronic statement showing the additional charges. I would greatly appreciate it if someone phone me solve this.

Called to resolve an issue over a $1 discrepancy. Took 30 minutes and 3 representatives. These people are obviously TOLD to NOT provide service to customers. All three were able to close a 10 year account but, not credit the account $1. This is definitely not a cost effective way of doing business. What is the call center doing to the customers and Merrick Bank?

My account was closed after I had it less than a month because when I tried to pay my first bill via an established account they said it was not permitted. Merrick Bank customer service told me as long as I had a routing number with the account it would be ok. Then they close my account and do not give me the chance to make things right. VERY, VERY, VERY rude and disrespectful customer service people. Plus it took me a month and a half to get my card. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT EVEN APPLY FOR THIS CARD.

Merrick Bank has been nothing but great to me. They handle their business in a very professional way, patient, kind. I appreciate them. They were there when I needed help. My father passed, they help me at my lowest point.

I have had a good relationship with Merrick Bank. I have a Visa through them. They have dealt with me honestly and I have been able to have good faith with them. They have never mistreated me and I have had several credit line increases over the years as my credit has been improving post bankruptcy.

My experience has been fantastic with the card. Only that I need more line of credit, so that it could be useful for me on some big project instead of buying day to day items.

I love my credit card from Merrick Bank. The only thing I dislike is the fees to start the card but with bad credit, it happens every time. This card has an easy to use mobile app. One of my favorite things is when you pay the very next day the funds are available. My favorite thing is they doubled my credit score after 7 on time payments. This is now my go to card!

I'm in the credit building stage and Merrick gave me a chance. They also DOUBLED my credit line after 7 months of on time payments. I tried recommending a couple of friends but found out it was invite only which made me feel SPECIAL. :)

I like having Merrick Bank as a creditor.

Of the number of online credit card sites I use, Merrick is the least user-friendly and least informative. The Merrick site does work, but it would be more user-friendly with more tabs to get where I want to go.

Merrick has been a fair creditor to work with. They extended a line of credit to me and when I paid my monthly payments on time they increased my credit line without my asking. I continue to make my monthly payments on time and work to keep my balance low. It is good to know I have the credit when I need it.

I called from Japan with a request to change my internet password, since I had been locked out of my account due to failed attempted to log on. We are on vacation in Japan. The service operator was fine and courteous, however unable to access my account due to her system's being down. She could not even write down my reset request and to input it later. Calling direct from Japan is expensive and I am disappointed that I could not achieve my password reset. I believe the service representative did all she could. However a better system seems appropriate.

I'm very satisfied with everything regarding this credit card is great, especially when my credit limit was increased, that was a very nice thing in moments when you needed the most.

Merrick Bank has been awesome to me. I initially began with a very low credit limit as I've been using my card to pay on time, etc. Merrick has raised my limit accordingly. The customer service staff is wonderful. Always willing to help you. I'm very pleased with your card over the couple I have. Merrick also thanks the client for their own time payments.

I have never had any issues with Merrick Bank. Every time I have called the experience has been good.

Called on or about 11th to inquire about account. Was told 2600 credit and 129 available and no payment for rest of month. Two days later auto teller reports 2725 credit and $11 available. Cannot deal with little to no info in this number of days and even when I get a bill, it many times does not agree with what I find out. It was fine at first to keep track but being on SSDI, I cannot afford to not know what's coming.

I called to get a missing card replaced. On the positive side, the phone was answered without an unreasonable hold. The woman I spoke to took care of the request for a new card quickly, efficiently and accurately. I felt that charging for a replacement card (that was not overnighted or rushed) was greedy and unfair. I think the first time should be free and a subsequent event may incur a charge. This took a 5 star customer encounter down to 3 star.

I have enjoyed being a customer with Merrick credit card. I haven't had any complaints, I receive e-statements and make my payments online. I have received credit limit increases for always paying on time which I really appreciated. Merrick credit card was a recommended card to help with my credit score.

The website is sometimes difficult to log into but it always works in the end.

All of my transactions are online & process perfectly each time. One thing, I have never received any info on chip cards or when they will be issued.

Anytime we have contacted customer service we have received a helpful and courteous answer to our question. The online bill pay is very efficient.

I am very disappointed in Merrick Bank. As a loyal customer for some time, I consistently paid my entire bill on time each month. I was surprised to see my credit limit raised because I didn't request such, but as always continued to pay my entire bill to ensure that the balance was low going into the next month. Instead of being rewarded for being a good customer, Merrick Bank decided to punish me. After the bank received electronic payment from my bank and posted it to my account, they applied only half of the amount paid and put an unnecessary hold on the remaining amount of my limit, which they planned to keep in place for 7 days. It was not enough to have the funds already, but the rude robotic customer svc reps and supervisor insisted that my bank needed to send "proof" of my BANK ACCOUNT BALANCE (???) to Merrick Bank showing my balance before the credit payment and after. What in the world?!!

I have had nothing but good a experience with Merrick Bank since I received their credit card offer. Their online site is user friendly and I am able to pay and view my account easily. Because I paid my payments on time consistently for 6 months, they held true to their word and increased my credit limit. I would recommend this card to anyone else looking for a credit card.

I have not been a customer that long, but have found them to be fair and courteous in their dealings. They kept their promise of increasing my credit limit if I paid on time and I was able to purchase a laptop computer when they did so. I hope to maintain a good relationship with them.

I would rate Merrick Bank a five-star bank in every category. They have done everything and more that they said they would do. They keep their word. Their phone system for checking on your account is superb. Their credit reviews are punctual and nice surprises. I am enjoying my relationship with Merrick Bank.

I use the Merrick app. more than anything - it's fast and convenient. The security safeguards are the best I have encountered. But most off all Merrick seems to care about my financial well being by letting me know when my scores don't look the greatest and I appreciate that.
