I work for a broker and we do voluntary benefits. We send Identity Guard RFPs to offer to employer groups. In the process of reaching out on behalf of my job to offer to employer groups that we work with, I signed up for Identity Guard's program and it was easy. The person I worked with at the time sent me the offer, and I went with Premier. It had the most coverage, so I thought that was best to have. I didn't have any concerns myself, but it's definitely a topic on my mind because it's so prevalent these days and in our lives. It's important coverage to have.
Hi Caroline, we're so happy to hear that you're pleased with Identity Guard. We always strive to provide an amazing product and outstanding customer service.

I took out Identity Guard's Premier Plan and I like it. It works great. The reps are very professional, have no complaints with anybody that I've talked to. Identity Guard is a low maintenance way to ensure your identity is secure in the market.

I could get two accounts on Identity Guard. I googled and found out the information. Thankfully, I've not had any problems with any of my accounts. Occasionally, one of those emails will come that says, "Something has been detected on the dark web." I look at it and it's nothing so I don't bother with that. I've been thinking about canceling Identity Guard because I don't know if it is doing me any good. Last week, I told a friend, who had something that was not very good happen to her, that we use Identity Guard. I also told her that I could get two accounts on it.

With all of this electronic data and with each breach, pieces of information get distributed on the dark web and then some people use that to build targets. My goal was to preemptively protect against that and I was referred to Identity Guard by a family member. Right now though, I feel like I'm paying a lot and I'm not sure what I'm getting or if it's working. I would have expected some alerts during this time, which I haven't seen. Maybe I haven't done enough setup, maybe there haven't been any, or maybe I've been lucky. Admittedly, I haven't dug in deeper to see if maybe I haven't enabled features that I should have.

I got scammed when I was trying to sell my timeshare and they had asked for my information and I ignorantly gave it to them. So to protect myself, I got Identity Guard. I put down all my information, my passport information, my Social Security, everything into the Identity Guard. So if anyone ever tries to use it, I will be notified and they'll protect it.
My experience with Identity Guard has been great. Every single time I check, they notify me if there's any form of pull on my credit. Just like I was putting in an application for a mortgage, I instantly got a ding on my phone from Identity Guard. I just wish there was a little bit more detail in certain aspects of it. But other than that, I really have not had any negative experiences with it.
However, I don't know if it protects my passport from being used illegally, like someone trying to sneak into the country or leave the country. I was trying to look into the description, but they didn't say anything like that. So that's about the only thing that I did not find. I've spoken to them once. But they couldn't answer the question that I was asking with regards to the passport being used. The customer service reps and even the supervisors said, “We've never had to come across a question like that.” But other than that, anytime my Social Security is used, I have been notified. So it's only been used when I've done it. There hasn't been anything that's harmed me as of yet, which is I’m so happy that I have Identity Guard. When I look at the peace of mind, the protection that is offered to knowing that my stuff is secure, that is where it exceeds the value of the money that I pay for it.

I am the person in charge at my employer bringing in products and looking for things to help our employees. So Identity Guard with theft was one of the products I brought to market to sell to all our members. I couldn't sell something and not believe in it. But it was the real time nature of Identity Guard and watching those transactions and the credit report and IBM watching. And now, they're even getting more and more ahead where they're starting to offer antivirus protection for certain packages. At the time, I got the Premier Plan and the Premier Family plan. One of the things that led me to that was the social media and as my kids get older, having some social media protection on the kids.
I have an account team that came out and demoed Identity Guard, and goes through everything with me day in and day out. And if I got any questions, I call them. But I'm probably considered more a broker than a user. So I've got the customer service team for brokerage and they take care of everything. The hardest part was when I canceled because I was switching plans. With the way we were rolling it out, I needed to cancel then re-enroll. Identity Guard gave me another three months and they wanted to make sure I didn't cancel and error, and then lose all my data. But I have no negative complaints and for the most purpose, as a regular consumer, I didn't need to reach out because the app worked great. The website was there and I was getting what I needed to get.
As with anything, every little bit adds up but the cost was fair. If I wouldn't have been the one pushing the product and believe in having the protection, it would have been a little hard to swallow. I was paying 27 bucks a month and I probably would not have made that decision to do that if I wasn't selling it, as a consumer. Our plan dropped down to 17 bucks with a lot of the changes and now, we're getting to a lot for more market comparative. Because the thing that Identity Guard fights against a lot is all the free products out there. So, there's value. But if somebody else can do 75% of the stuff that Identity Guard can do, then it's hard to quantify the extra 25 for those prices with a lot of our members.
For a lot of people, 20 bucks can be hard to stomach when they can get some free credit monitoring. That may not be as good, but if they're doing the right things on their end, maybe it's fine and it's easier for them to stomach. The cost is a little high. If people don't have Identity Guard, it is strictly because of cost, not because they don't find the product valuable. Cost is something that needs to count. As technology gets better, as more users come in, cost is an area that Identity Guard can continue to improve in. They're adding more and more value, but sometimes, it doesn't matter how much value you add if cost is already a barrier. It's hard to break through that.
Thanks for your review, Bryan. Your security is extremely important to all of us at Aura Identity Guard, which is why we're always building upon and improving our service offerings. From antivirus to identity theft protection and VPN, we've got you covered! Our priority is your peace of mind.

I couldn't find anything bad about Identity Guard in terms of concerns with respect to privacy and security and I've been uniformly pleased with customer service. They're always courteous. I've never found a representative that didn't have the perception of being knowledgeable. The thing that really stands out to me the most since having their service is the speed of response times. I've not even finished a transaction sometimes when I'm getting an alert that they've detected it. They're not a theoretical thing.

I was a victim of identity theft and I did extensive research for a company that could monitor my credit, and I came up with Identity Guard. I got the Premier Plan because I wanted the best coverage and service. The identity theft was a jarring experience for me and I wanted to make sure that I was covered. Back when I first had this issue, the reps were trying to help me and they set me up. One of the issues I had was that my mail had been forwarded from the post office by somebody fraudulently. So, they were changing the address on my bank accounts. Now, I would get a call every time there was some type of a change and then I would go and have it corrected. So, that was great.
The experience with Identity Guard was beyond exceptional. For a while there, I had somebody that they had working with me for a while, probably about a month, and that person stayed in constant contact with me. I was very impressed. Identity Guard is probably one of the safest and most reputable companies to go with. I would recommend Identity Guard and I have. So, I'm happy. The identity theft happened a few years ago and I still have Identity Guard. I'm afraid to remove it.
Dear Lauren,
Experiencing identity theft is definitely jarring. We're glad Identity Guard's Premier Plan is now protecting you from future fraud. If you ever need us, we're just a phone call away!

I was getting a car a few years back. So I wanted to make sure that I knew exactly what my credit was and if there were any people trying to steal my identity somewhere. I signed up with Identity Guard and at the time, they were one of the more reputable paid-for-credit monitoring services. It would be really beneficial if they were able to provide the credit report from Experian and TransUnion monthly rather than every six months or every year. My sister has a different service and she's able to get hers monthly. Other than that, the app and the accounts are all self-explanatory.

I was a victim of a spam bomb. I started receiving emails very quickly thanking me for signing up for all these newsletters. I received hundreds of them within minutes but buried within all of those “Thank you for joining our list,” was “Thank you for your purchase from Dell.” Something was not right and so, I went on to dell.com and looked it all up. Somebody pretending to be me in Pennsylvania was trying to order a computer with information of me. So, I was able to get everything cancelled and nothing was ever charged to me. So, we got everything fixed but added on the Identity Guard to help out. It's working great. Economically, it was similar to other companies but I liked the idea of being powered by Watson AI.

Very important to read its fine print and compare between competitors because its coverage on each of several features varied among competitors. Mostly their coverages are limited. Sometime limited coverage for specific choice of feature Cannot justified their monthly rate. Best to shop based on your coverage type choices. Their monthly email updates are okay. Some do not mention specifically list of feature that are detected and blocked. Other display simple email saying all is well.
The monthly rates are expensive in my opinion which is why I decided to terminated after one year. They didn’t tell me one year subscription expired but continued monthly charge to my credit card until I noticed and had to notified via customer service to complaint and request to cancel and they did including refund the bills after 12 months.

I’m conservative financially by nature and I have several members of my family that are at a point in their life where they could potentially get themselves into credit conundrum. So, I make sure that everybody is protected and don't do anything foolish or have anything foolish done to their accounts when they’re young. That was my collective best interest to do. Name every company over the past 20 years and I’ve used them all. I’m agnostic to switching, so it comes down to price point and ease of using the site. I tend to like the services that push notifications to you rather than you having to actually go into the site and see if there's been any new activity. I like the alerts and Identity Guard does that, which I appreciate.
There's nothing that significantly differentiates Identity Guard from all these different services. Everybody provides $1,000,000-worth of liability insurance. Everybody seems to have a similar dashboard when you enter. I switched so much since I have five different people in my family that I have accounts on and some of the services will only let you sign up four people, which means I got to sign up four people in one, and then have a separate for fifth. So, I wind up usually having two services going at the same time. In this case, I do but it's been working out fine. Identity Guard does what they’re supposed to do and they do it well.

Years ago, I was with another company and I experienced my information being abused three times from the same bank. Each time, they froze my account 'cause they said they saw suspicious activities. However, they never contacted me and neither did the company that's supposed to be protecting me. When we pulled things up, we found out that my account number was being used in Illinois and Las Vegas. I have a Rogue SUV and there's no way in the world I could get $500 worth of gasoline on that Rogue. When things like that happened three different times within a year, I was never told that there was suspicious activity. The only reason that I found out each time was that I was at a restaurant to pay for my food and my card was declined.
I left that bank, and I wasn't happy with the other company, so I stopped the identity guard thing altogether. I'm like, “I'm better just watching things myself." I understand how important it is to protect one's identity though. Senior citizens get hit more than anybody to some degree. I'm a senior citizen who will be 69 years old in a few months and my daughter suggested I come with Identity Guard. She set everything up for me as well. She has been with them for some time and she really liked them. Overall, it was a great process and it’s a good product. So far, I really don’t access it that much, but when I get alerts, I appreciate that. Still, I feel like there was a little too much information from them and I was getting something that was kind of an overkill. I’d rather have too much than not enough, but the little things that we were cautioned about were low-risk and weren’t that important to bring to my attention. Despite that, the fact that they were bringing that to my attention was reassuring because I felt that they were being thorough.

If I do anything (get a new credit card or whatever), I always get alerts.
I can see my credit score as well. We recently applied for a home equity loan that we haven't used, but I got updates from Identity Guard. They did a full credit investigation on myself and my wife. I am a member of Identity Guard for the last 7 years. I stayed out of country for couple of years and the support for international customers (essentially when you need to track and monitor the account more closely) is way below expectations. Problems faced:
2. All my old US cards expired and trying to update my billing with international card does not work. Answer from customer service, "Sorry. We do not support international billing. You need a US card registered to your home address for it to work." Bummer.
So I would not recommend this for people who travel internationally often.

Since I’ve had this service, I was notified once of something, from some website and the information got put on the dark web but nothing became of it. I just went and changed the password. It is very easy to do, and I like it better than the last company I have since we can both can use the same company. Here is my issue. I put my cell on “Do Not Disturb” during the night. When I woke up, I had several messages from AMEX. Since Identity Guard charged my AMEX card during the night, it set off a chain of events. The billing for Identity Guard comes across as “Intersections” on the credit card, so AMEX immediately froze my account. Since I had placed other orders on Amazon yesterday, it denied all of those purchases. I am a little concerned that Identity Guard when billed is called Intersections. It makes me nervous that this is actually legit.
Hi Ann-Marie, we're glad to hear that enrollment was quick and easy! Identity Guard's parent company was previously named Intersections Inc, which is why that name came through on your billing statement. Our parent company has since re-branded to the name Aura. After leaving Trusted ID and look for a new company I tried to sign up at this company. Filled in all the data requested but the card I've have had for over 20 years kept failing. So I called the number given and check with my card company and was told that there was no attempt from their company to apply a charge. In the call with the company they reported an address error so I and the person that was on the line tried on their end with the same address. I have lived in this house for 25 yrs they (card company, the post office, my driver license, my SS, myPassport same address) have no clue what the failure is. She transferred the information to her manager and now waiting. Have been waiting 4 days and no contact.

With the increase in identity theft I decided to seek the help of Identity Guard. I was gonna try to go with the other one, LifeLock, but for some reason, I put all my information and they acted like I was not me, and it was a bunch of trouble. I've had Identity Guard now for a couple of years. I get notifications with stuff that happens. I check it and usually it’s just me doing it, so I'm good. I get a report every month, so that’s good.

I recently signed up a few days ago and felt I made the right choice for my family. Unfortunately after providing all my families information, Identity Guard sends me an email saying my account has been. Cancelled and removed my access to my account. My concern right away is, I’ve been scammed and so I called my CC company and they let me know my card was never billed, one sign of relief. My major concern now is they have all my families SS numbers, credit information etc. I was told the issue wasn’t with them, but an Experian issue due to not accessing my credit information. This all seems way to sketchy and I hope no one else goes through this experience of uncertainties. Too many other options out there, do your research and avoid this company.
Hi Daniel, we use several data providers to effectively monitor and protect your identity. It’s our policy to only charge customers if we are able to deliver all of your plan features in full. Per that policy and as a result of the data connection issue you mentioned in your review, your Identity Guard account was automatically cancelled and you were not billed.
We've fixed this issue and have reached out to all customers that were affected. We apologize for your less than ideal experience with our product so far and are happy to answer any remaining questions that you might have. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback!

I am using a web based version as opposed to an app. Overall, comparing to other services, it is about the same as any other service. I got notifications periodically, but some of them were not useful because they were repeats of older messages. I had had my identity stolen several times and it's a hassle, but it's less of a hassle with credit monitoring because most allow you to lock your credit report. It has stopped a couple of scammers. I got it as a result of Targets credit card debacle, but if I had to pay for it, I might have to think about it.
Hi Todd, thank you for your feedback! We're happy to have the chance to help keep your information secure and to lessen the stress of recovering from identity theft.

The CC I used for ID Guard was cancelled due to a fraud charge and I've been waiting for a replacement. This morning I got an email notice that the card had been declined. I immediately went in and input a NEW card from a different carrier that I had just approved yesterday - but the flag was ambiguous. So I called customer service and received a VERY condescending woman who persisted in calling me "Ma'am" when I told her that I did NOT want to be addressed by that demeaning Plantation slang word and that my name is Dr ** and that "I earned it". Nonetheless she continue to call me "Ma'am" and I had to repeatedly remind the woman.
She informed me that if my NEW card were declined my account would IMMEDIATE be cancelled.. BUT I could call Customer Service [to whom I was speaking] within 90 day to reinstate it. I asked why I could not have my card confirmed NOW. She gave the excuse that it take 2-3 days. When I shop with my card it is immediately approved or declined. The very CLEAR MESSAGE to me was that contrary to the comments of how my patronage is valued - it is NOT. I was treated with contempt by a clerk - who could be ANYBODY at that number.

I was told to verify my identity over 4 years ago with this company. I had already been a customer for awhile. I did not want to send my SS card, so I sent a copy of my tax records. They called me every 2-3 months to verify my identity after that, which each time I had go through a process to identify myself. I have been doing this for over four years. It has been a huge inconvenience to me. Now they are telling me that my tax records from 2014 are not valid. They want a copy of my SS card. Supposedly this is the only way that they are able to process a portion of my credit report and provide it to me. I spoke to a manager and got no support, when I told him that I was going to take my business elsewhere, he gave no response indicating that he would really like to keep my business. Finally free of the harassment, Daniel **.

Fantastic service to monitor, protect and safeguard your personal information, protect your identity and credit. ON July 7th, 2016 I was informed that a change was detected in my credit file. It stated similar to a federal inquiry had been made and or notification for extension of credit, loan or other. I had not authorized any changes or requested any loans nor extensions for credit. In fact I had done nothing differently.
Thinking this may have had to do with something with my federal student loan I checked out my credit profile and to my shock, the United States Department of Veteran Affairs had viewed my entire credit report without my authorization. (This 3 months after separation of service with them.) Further, they placed an erroneous debt onto my credit report. (I had a dispute with them due to the insurance they failed to provide for me to cover my injury, but inevitably paid their bogus debt anyway 3 months earlier so they could not smear my credit report since I had a stellar credit rating.)
They wrongfully and illegally placed a debt on my credit report. This caused my credit score to tank by 30 points. I immediately filed complaints referencing FCRA violations, complaints with the Attorney General, Office of Special Counsel, Office of Inspector General and the Veterans Administration as well. Once I filed my complaints, I had no other credit breaches with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. Highly illegal - but hey they are the federal government so they are automatically excused from committing fraud and felonies. Still the damage they did under the umbrella of fraud and false swearing was amazing. I am so fortunate to catch this early. Thanks to this credit monitoring company, I was on their case the very same day as they conducted their breach into MY federally protected (?) credit file.

The service that comes with it has people that are ready to secure you whenever you need help. I like its increased security from my previous software which isn't as efficient as this piece of technology. With this identity protection service you are assured of protection. I chose Identity Guard because it had a 30 day trial and the customer reviews were high in ranking. This company has the first IBM Watson protection that gives this company an advantage over others. They have a variety of products to fit your needs such as individual, family and children plans. It also has a 1 million insurance policy when you subscribe to Identity Guard. They are a more diversed company than any other company and has the most innovative technology for customers to keep their personal information safe and discreet. It also has a far better monthly plan compared to Lifelock. They have a great credit monitoring system and offers credit scores. All in all this is a better company than Lifelock.

There was also an option to add people to your account for a discounted fee which I also took advantage of. One of my favorite features was the credit reporting. THEIR information was outdated and when I called, the woman on the phone wanted me to go through every account one at a time.
