I walked into a Chase Bank to both cash and deposit a Chase check written to me. They give me the amount I wanted back, deposited the rest (after confirming that the funds were available from the deposited check account), then placed a "Hold" on my account for the total amount of the check!!! I then wind up with a 34.00 NSF on my account. After calling them, they said it was a mistake on their part, and put the 34.00 back into my account. Now my account shows an NSF charge and a refund of 34.00. The NSF should have been removed from my account completely. When I print my statement, it will show that I had an NSF charge and no explanation that THE BANK made the error. After speaking with customer service they said they can't fix it... Not a happy camper!!!

Was in drive-thru "business" line. Waited 10 minutes for one car in front of me. Teller received two deposits from me. It took another 10 minutes to receive back the two receipts from my deposits. The teller had to go to the front to wait on other people, as he was making my deposits. Teller explained they were very busy. Obviously, not enough help to handle a lunch hour rush. I asked for the manager's business card and was given the handwritten name of Kerry **, on a business card of Jagruti **, Lead Teller. What a poor way to conduct business. Where is the customer service Chase was known for?

This customer service rep was very rude that she almost sounded like I was not supposed to have any questions on billing (I had a question on the interest charge). I know it was only a small amount ($5), but I just wanted to why I was charged for interest when I paid in full last month. I was taking my time understanding it, but she was talking like I was wasting her time, and my question was never answered clearly.

We are attempting/trying to clear up our negative balance in acct. # ending in ** and to no avail! We would like to transfer the full amount from acct # ending in ** ($840.00) to **, immediately. Also, do you have any idea where my direct deposit for $856.07, scheduled to be in my account # ending in **, today, is at??? You restrict both our accounts and expect us to clear up the negative balance, which we are trying to do and you make it almost IMPOSSIBLE! What do you suggest we do at this point, call an attorney or report you to the BBB, since you restricted both accounts w/out even the courtesy of first contacting us to clear the matter up first, having been longtime customers of Chase???

I am currently the only one working, at this time, as my husband's company dissolved their business last month and he is also struggling and fighting cancer, at this time. This balance, that would be a little over $400, once the $840 is transferred and my $856.07 (direct payroll deposit) is credited to acct # **, is the ONLY money we have to live on and pay our bills at this time! We have 3 sons to think about and this will be the second weekend we are going thru, w/out any money! Please know and consider that there is a family of 5, behind this above negative balance and mess and we are striving/trying to clear this up and Chase is fighting us the whole way! Please advise me further on the above, asap today.

The Stuyvesant Ave branch of Union Township is by far the worst for service. The tellers are fine, but the manager, whomever he or she is needs to take a Management 101 course because the bank is so mismanaged. Five customers sat waiting for a desk person's help and after I sat for 30 minutes two left and then I did. 4 desk managers working (supposedly) and no one being waited on. The bank is also filthy unlike most other branches. This is also not the first occasion that I have waited for assistance in this branch. I have been a Chase customer for many, many years and have never had to complain about any of its branches, but this one definitely needs some correction.

I'm just a regular chump living from paycheck to paycheck. Recently I received a nice inheritance check so I decided to open a savings account with Chase to go along with my existing Chase checking account. I was told the check deposited would be available in two days on 02/11. The morning of the 11th I see I have an email from Chase fraud prevention saying the funds are being held and the money would not be available until 02/19.

After a visit to the branch, a call to the 800 number and a call to the bank that issued the check, I've come to the conclusion, Chase never had any intention of clearing that check digitally in two days. They want the canceled check in their hands. So, they lied to my face when I opened the account. They lied to me again when I called the 800 number, when they said the issuing bank "indicated" the check may not clear. (Found out that was a fat lie.) Bottomline is... They put a hold my account because they are afraid they will be defrauded by trusting the digital handshake. And they mislead and lied to me because they don't want it known that they don't trust the system they helped to create. They are the frauds.

I was recently scammed on a mystery shopper program. I understand that it is my fault for being dumb enough to believe it so when I was informed by Chase that my account was overdrawn on a fraudulent check I tried to correct it by borrowing money from family to bring my balance out of the negative. Well, even after I did that and now being in debt and them knowing I was scammed they STILL closed my account and informed me that they are going to report me so I may not be able to bank with other companies! I could understand them doing that if I was aware and knowingly deposited a fraudulent check but I should not be punished for being scammed myself. My brother also has had problems with Chase. They hold his deposited money for days and when he calls he has to wait for hours at a time for someone to help him and even then they're not helpful!

I'm disabled and in a month 1/2 they turned it off at least 10 times making me have to go to a branch to have it turned back on each time. My car was stolen christmas day and my trailer home was impounded before that so I'm homeless and hungry and Chase has my money locked up. Even when I go inside they've given me more than I can handle. I just hope that there's an attorney that reads this and calls me and tells me to sue them. It's been an experience nobody should have to go through but brain injury and all I had to hopefully no one else will. The complete lack of concern from all that I spoke to was alarming. I would like to say to all concerned that I hope one day this happens to each one of you and you get to go hungry like me. It's a real bad feeling when you have no way to get it or unable to get it. I told them all of this and nothing was done. They should be dealt with for this and dealt with harshly.

So my mother makes a purchase with her Sapphire credit card and lost it. She traced her steps and made calls and visited places she last used her card. No luck finding card. She called Chase Bank and informed them of the lost card and the bank representative advised that she would receive a replacement card in 5 working days. Yes, everything up until this point is playing out as it should; however, after not receiving the card, as promised, my mom initiates another call to Chase Bank. This time they ask her to wait while they look up her account because they cannot find any entry related to the loss or subsequent request for new credit card. What they said after the long hold was, "After review of your account, Chase Bank has decided to terminate its relationship with you." Excuse me? Did I hear that correctly.

They go on to inform her that a letter had been sent to advise her of this decision. She received no such letter. She did, however, receive a letter from Chase Bank after the unpleasant conversation a few days later. Now she brings me into the picture as she needs to vent. I take a look at the letter and ask her to go to one of our neighboring branches. She goes hoping that she will at least get an explanation of why this happened. Much to her dismay she was met with the same generic answer. "Chase Bank has decided to terminate all business dealings with you. You have until the 25th of February to clear your accounts. " All niceties have diminished. It's as though she committed some grievous or criminal act. She had been a loyal customer at Washington Mutual and made the transition to Chase Bank and stayed there.

Now, here's where I come in. She calls me while she's at the bank and advised me that she is very sorry but that I too have been affected by the changes and will have to close out my accounts. I am bewildered. I thought this was happening to her. How did I get dragged into this? Well my husband and I had decided it would be wise to have a 3rd party on our accounts, in the event, anything should unexpectedly happen to us. My mother was a natural choice because she is trustworthy. It is important to note that she never made any deposits or withdrawals to either account.

Now I went to my neighborhood bank and shared the unsavory experience that my mother was dealing with and wanted an explanation as to why this was going to affect my accounts. Again, the representative advised that the bank had made its decision and it was FINAL. He provided a phone number and case number and asked me to call to get more information. As you may suspect, I too, was met with the generic answer. Except mine came with the additional "Chase Bank has the right to terminate its business dealings with anyone at anytime and does not have to provide a reason." My husband and I have been low risk customers for over 20 years. Had my mother not gone to her local branch I would not have known what was going to happen to my accounts. No letter for us. How UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE.

Now I am very upset. How dare they! I do not wish to clear my name with them, much less continue doing business with them. I realize that we have become numbers. We are no longer considered customers. We have no faces. What I do want is someone to look into the matter. I realize that most people get angry and do nothing. I do wish to do something other than vent and for that reason I am writing this review for others to view and share.

I have been a customer of Chase for years yet I still have problems with these guys charging overdrafts and giving me the time frame to deposit funds to cover the funds withdrawn. For example last night I went to Walmart around 8 pm and I had a certain balance left. Well they decided to push my rent check through before 11 pm but after 8 pm causing me to go into overdraft, well insufficient funds time frame cut off at 11 pm. What kind of time frame have you given me in order to pay at this time of night? The excuse the representative gave was "you can make a deposit at the ATM." This late at night? Really? The humane thing to do is time frame me until tomorrow morning. So the ** thing the rep. tells you, "let me see what we can do for you."

They have some system they run to see if you have been reimbursed within the year because if they have screwed you 3 times in one and you were reimbursed 3 times already within your year you are screwed with 34$ insufficient funds fee reimbursements. Of course they don't tell you that ** when you open up an account having all your direct deposits going there into it. I feel they need to have much more sympathy for their customers and base their decisions on circumstances. 34$ is a grip of money when you're living C to C. They also have it bad putting the big checks through before the smaller ones so you get overdrafts on that too. Say if you have 3 checks floating they gonna cover the big one to take all the money and leave nothing to cover the other ones leaving you with 2 insufficient fees when you had enough in your account to at least cover 2.

That's how they make their money doing this ** and giving you a certain amount of insufficient fund reimbursements a year and after you use your three you're just ** if you don't keep up and the online and mobile account checking is a joke also, it never tells you updated info, I got jacked like that before as well. But anyway I am moving banks as soon as I can get everything switched. This is crazy!

I had my CA driver license, my social security card and my employment authorization card. However, that was enough. I was told I needed to be American citizen to have an account with them.

First off I have been with Chase since they were Washington Mutual. I opened an account with them in 1998 so I would have the ability to also get a mortgage. I have faithfully paid my mortgage/taxes/escrow/insurance on time every month without hesitation. Chase was helpful in the process of recently getting my mortgage paid off. We chose to pay additional principal every month and when I got time we simply paid off the mortgage. This was in December 2015. I looked again at my "Chase Premier Checking Account" and see there is a new service fee of $20. Apparently if you don't keep an account balance of more than $15,000 you will get charged this fee.

I asked online for an explanation of this and why I was never charged this in the past, I never got a clear answer. I thought that a mortgage was a debt, not an asset to an account, but Chase must think differently or has an exception to that policy if you hold a mortgage with them. Sounds to me like Chase figured they could sneak a service fee in without me noticing because I was no longer paying them interest. Guess what Chase, I am pulling all my money and closing my accounts because of this. I feel like I am being punished for paying off my mortgage and being a responsible consumer, but that's not how banks make their money. They would much rather prey on financial consumers that are less responsible with their money.

I've been banking with Chase for almost 6 years. I updated my address after moving to New Mexico, which has no Chase banks or ATMs. They told me that they had mailed my bank card to a previous address in California, even though that wasn't even the most recent address on file with the account. They shut off my debit card completely, and I tried to use it when I was on the road to get gas, when I found out it had been canceled. After multiple calls and transfers and waiting, they let me know that they could not send me a new debit card because my address had been changed in the last 30 days, but they also could not reactivate my old debit card, which, by the way, wasn't set to expire for two more years.

So now I'm essentially without access to money until I can switch to another bank, which I am in the process of doing. Any bank that would put their customers through this kind of nightmare isn't a bank I want to be associated with. They also did not notify me of sending a chip card OR that my debit card was to shut off, either in a mailed letter, text, email, or phone call. I'm kind of appalled by that behavior.

I have just spent the better part of today dealing with trying to have my wife, a non Chase client, deposit cash into one of my accounts at Chase because I was out of town. She was told they "no longer accept cash from anyone but Cash clients". The reason cited was "post 911 terrorism policies". I called the 800 number and asked to speak with a manager. The manager, based in the Philippines, informed me that the only way my wife could effectuate this deposit would be to purchase from Chase a bank check at the cost of $8. As much as I resented giving Chase any additional fees of any kind, I instructed my wife on the work around. Once again, my wife returned to the bank with these instruction, only to be told that since she was not a Chase client, she could not purchase a bank check or money order. Instead, she would have to go to the post office to obtain one and then return.

Not only do I resent this runaround, under the pretense of national security, the discrepancy in policy between the 800 number management and the local bank manager is confounding. Also, I can't see how foisting the liability of potentially becoming an unwitting accessory to a 'terroristic conspiracy' onto the US Postal Service is an appropriate anti terrorism policy for Chase or the Nation. This is coming from an institution that coincidentally has hired a third party fraud protection unit that is based in India. Anytime I have had to pass through a potential fraudulent purchase scenario, I have been place on the phone for verification processing with a country that borders on Pakistan, who has been at best a questionable ally in the war on terrorism. How is storing my financial security in a 3rd world country a measure in the smartest direction?

So, dear JP Morgan Chase, either you will want to choose your 3rd party affiliates more carefully (albeit paying a living wage to an American worker--since you're waving that flag as part of your reason) or you should construct less transparent lies as to why you've instituted your policies in the first place. In the meantime, doubting you will take any substantive action, other than that to protect your own interests, I will take care of mine and my families and close my accounts at Chase. Just remember, money under the proverbial mattress runs no risk of feeding terrorism, apparently only our large financial institution do. Do any banks still serve the small business and middle class client?

Okay I am a member of Chase which will soon change due to the fact that my debit card was stolen the same day I was paid. I did not know it was stolen until I order pizza online and said I had a low balance. I check my account and I saw that my payment for my car in the payment for my light bill came out and there was 3 $60 transactions from a non-Chase ATM. I called my bank to report this and they reverse the swipes of the card. And when it came to the ATM transaction--which was the higher amount due to it being $180, plus the $3 charge from the ATM, plus the $3 charge the Chase charge me for being a non-Chase ATM--I expect in my bank to protect me, but instead the first representative laughed.

So I escalated to her manager, she couldn't do nothing so she escalated to her manager. The higher manager was rude and basically blame me for someone taking my money and stated they would review it and call me back - that was 8 days ago. Called today to address it and the manager I spoke with today said somebody call me back around 6 o'clock on Saturday, which is my off day. No call log on my end to prove a call but because they notated they called, they denied the claim again. So for this purpose, I will be closing my Chase account after being with these guys for at least 3 to 4 years. This experience was poor, unprofessional, and I'm no longer going to deal with it especially because I had to borrow the money from friends to keep my lights on. This was an embarrassing experience due to my bank choosing to blame the client versus protected me like they stated they would when I signed up.

My daughter needed to have cash available to pay her co-payments and deductibles to doctors and hospitals for a terrible back illness she was experiencing. I asked her for the account info which she graciously provided and I proceeded to withdraw $800.00 from my credit union to deposit at the Chase bank which is the bank she does business with for a long time. Upon reaching the teller window I was asked if this was my account to which I replied that it was not. The teller informed me that she could not accept a cash deposit from a non-customer.

I reminded her that cash is legal tender in this country and that the amount was under $1000.00 so no special reporting was necessary under $10,000.00. She would not accept this and the manager I spoke to also refused to accept stating it had been a Chase policy for over 2 years. I was forced to go home, write a check and drive back to the branch to deposit plus another trip to my credit union to re-deposit my funds. My credit union laughed when I related this to them and assured me that cash was always welcome in their institution. I have since asked my daughter to close her account and open it somewhere else and if I run into any of my friends that still bank with Chase will encourage them to dump this garbage financial institution that does not accept legal tender as a valid deposit.

I called twice and asked the same question because I am the Payee for a mentally ill individual that depends upon this money for their daily living. Both times I was given the same answer. "Nothing will change." I activated the card. Much to my horror my payee was locked OUT of her account. I was misinformed by BOTH customer service reps. Concerned and upset, I called again, explained my dilemma. The first rep told me, "Sorry," nothing she can do but after prodding she informed me that she can reactivate the old card. I said "Great." She then said I must call Chase back and request another new card in 2 months! I was shocked, and asked "Why? I did not request this one." Spoke to a sup. who gave identical info.

I agreed but insisted that Chase send me another card as they did before. I was informed by a Cherry ** that that's all they can do. I asked to speak to someone else in USA. After 12 minutes on hold, I get Christopher ** who gave yet another song and dance. Following him I spoke to Brian ** who gave yet another. I explained that this is a person who depends on me for daily funds and it is unconscionable that CHASE BANK could not resolve my issue that was caused by their staff's misinformation!

BTW the first 2 young ladies told me to go and give her the new card. I further explained that this was not an option because I have 2 children, one with severe autism, that are not permitted to be in her presence and I can't imagine that CHASE can't resolve this being I have many constraints & that if I was a billionaire, I'm sure they would resolve in my favor. I was repeatedly insulted by their weak apologies and their refusal to help 1 human being in need of that plastic card. I pleaded with them & revealed more info that fell on deaf ears and loose lips that ALL gave me a different procedure for the SAME request.

Consequences: None for Chase! I requested a copy of the TAPED conversation so that I can explain to a police officer that Chase instructed me toI bring her this card with babies in tow. The frustration, humiliation and absolutely NO accountability for Chase to stand by me as a customer and accommodate a simple request, to please reactivate her card, were totally ignored. I am livid that the work that I am going to have to do to cut ties with them don't outweigh what I need/they need to do for one mentally ill human being that has been through hell. So I'm the only one who got a consequence. They have the money & I've been humiliated.

Talked to them about why they never check the signature and they said they can't look at all the signatures, so they pay a totally fraud check and they are not responsible for it? I also asked why they didn't contacted the other bank and explained the situation about a false signature and try to reverse or re-call the check and they said they didn't because there is a few rules or proceeds and for the check not be in a safe place they decide not contact the other bank (since is the customer fault we have nothing else to do "IMO").

I am guessing if they go to the other bank they, the other bank, may tell them you approved the withdrawal from your customer, it is your fault, you should take a better look when you approve a transaction. After checking the "safeguard your information" on their agreement... put away in a safe place... (their reason for not paying me back) they said a drawer in my home office is not a safe place. I reported the check 10 day after it was paid, they never call me back with the result of the investigation.

My next step see you in "binding arbitration" as per their "know how legal disputes may be resolved." If not see them in court for a better definition on safe place as per the agreement. Bottom line they paid a check with total false signature (not even an imitation of my), they did not contacted the other bank to try to get my money back and they blame it on me. Long time banking with them with healthy accounts, I'll be closing all the account and I'll try to get my money back.

Have waited in line listening to the manager talking to someone at her desk about what classes he was taking, about classes she took etc. She did get up, walked by all of us in line and smiled saying "there is water over there if you need some." How very nice of her to offer water while we wait in a very long line. We do not have this problem when going to the Discovery Bay branch. Then the girl called and was lied to, told her I didn't have arrangements when I did. Then got a manager on the phone, found the arrangements and then was told what we agreed to pay was wrong. Something totally different. Gave me till the 8th of February, note by the manager I only have till Jan 15.

Called when I got home again, I have no arrangements. Price was way off again. Called the branch manager, she called back and she was told we were not allowed to be able to open any account there ever. Called again, all foreigners can't get no place. Totally different department told me they are the ones that make the decision to close the account and not to allow us another one. We use to love Chase, now I don't know what is going on and who is to blame but I do know they continue this act, they will be closing doors. I did not know the payee well, so I did not want to risk "bouncing" the check if I deposited at my credit union. So I wanted to cash it at the bank where the check was drawn on, which was Chase. The teller asked me if I had an checking account with Chase and I said "no". Then she asked me if I had a car loan, mortgage or any other type of account with Chase. Again I answered "no". Then she asked me for ID, so I handed her my driver’s license. Then she told me that she could cash the $300 check, but there would be a $8 fee. I pointed out that the check was from HER bank. Again she confirmed that there would still be an $8 fee.

I was appalled. I said “are you telling me that payee who wrote me the check, who banks at Chase, can write checks for free, but for someone to actually cash those checks costs the recipient $8?” If that's not against the law, it should be. That is a 2.67% charge for 3 minutes of "work". Chase probably pays that teller less than $15/hr, but has the gall to charge me the equivalent of $160/hr for the 3 minutes it took to cash a check that one of their own customers wrote me. When I left the bank with my $292 dollars I made sure to inform the teller that that the reason I don't bank at Chase is because their fee structure is ridiculous. This confirms why I've been a credit union member for over 25 years. I will never accept a Chase Check again. I will insist on a cashier’s check or CASH!

I recently opened a bank account (checking) with Chase in S Gessner, Houston. They had a promotional offer and I presented the coupon, they accepted it and mentioned it will be credited - I had my salary debit over there and even after 15 days nothing happened. When asked Chase mentioned that the coupon was wrong and since it's past 7 days they couldn't do anything, they didn't even put an effort to resolve the concern - pretty disappointed with the way they are treating customer. Even talked to the branch manager and she was of little help.

I sent a letter a month ago stating that I NEED HELP with my car payment. I bought this car brand new in 8/20/2013. I have a horrible FICO score that I am working so hard to clean up. Since my husband passed away and I have been place on permanent disability though I can work a very part-time job (16 hrs. per week). I cannot make things work anymore. I came to Chase in desperation that they would refi my car loan and help me to continue having a pristine record with them. No one cares! I was denied and that just show their humanness is below zero.

Many people are in this boat; however, I am trying to get ahead of obvious problems. I have gotten rid of my cable, my storage, lowered my car insurance premium, bought a to-go phone, working to get the IRS to forgive the $57 a month they take out of my checking, I do not go out for entertainment, I buy only needed groceries, I live in a sub-human apartment, anything and everything I have done to simplify my life. When my husband passed unfortunately his prior divorce decree everything went to the first wife. I was diagnosed with a horrible genetic disease that required removal of my intestines, also my sister was diagnosed with the same disease. From this disease I have now been diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver stage 4 and my sister's issues turned to cancer. Double mastectomy and rectal.

The past 5 years have not been very good to say the least. But when you call companies to try and work out your problem before it turns to no payments made or a repo... none of which is anywhere near the lifestyle and obligations that kept me at an 825 FICO with my husband. Chase won't listen to me nor work with me. My remaining balance is $10,500 and even with a pristine payment history I guess that doesn't matter. At this point I do not know what to do. I am at a serious impasse in my life where I am sinking and HONESTLY NO ONE CARES.

But when my mother called Wells Fargo, they told her the check was already paid and the funds should already have received from the recipient. I have gotten no money from this check because Chase claims it will not be paid. According to my mom's bank (Wells Fargo) everything should be good. I don't know what is up with Chase. I opened 2 accounts in 2010. They gave me some nice options, text message notifications, overdraft protection, etc. They've discontinued my text notifications abruptly, which I had been using on a regular basis. This was the first time I had been caught off guard. Make no mistake, any extra service that is promised to you will only be temporary. It will only be a matter of time before they make some "necessary change" that just happens to screw you over. And the rebuttal? "That's how we do things, you should've gotten a letter in the mail."

But what upsets me greatly is the fact that the overdraft fees they use to encourage people to bring their account back up to a positive balance are more a threatening punishment than anything, and an individual who is not taking advantage of the system does not deserve to be punished by it. How is it deemed acceptable for a $9 overdraft at a gas station to receive a $35 penalty? Simply put, they will claim it is to protect themselves from people who want to take advantage of them, but in the end they are the ones stealing millions of dollars from people who already don't have any money.

The last and most infuriating thing is what I read about just as I was scrolling on this site, the way they use their TIMEZONE to take advantage of people. They don't care where you are, they only care about where they are. You could be well within your allotted time to return a negative $9 balance, but because the headquarters is located on the East Coast, you get the $35 overdraft charge EARLY!

Isn't that great? A preemptive charge? It's like your friend saying "Hey I know you were going to pay me back the $9 you owed me the same day, but because of my time zone it's now the next day, so I'd like you to pay me $44 for breaking our agreement despite the fact it's still the same day for you." One day people will not tolerate the things they are put through by banks. It is really just confusion, planned and timed so that little fees will add up and make millions to go into the pockets of the greedy.

Recently because of the holidays I have been short of money but stopped using my card. I had an $8.99 withdrawal from Hulu and $10 from a Sunpass automatic pay and they charged me $68 over $18.99.

They would not show any empathy over the phone. I asked "ok I'll take the fees but is there any way to stop any further transaction? This is an old account and I don't know what else is going to get charged and I don't want to get hit with another overdraft fees." The CHASE BANK REP said they offer NO solutions to anyone that just doesn't want any more transactions coming out of their account. I told her "so in other words you can't cancel my card and there is no way to do it?", which I know is a lie and she said "NO." So I told her I lost the card so she had no choice but to cancel it after telling me there was no way for it to be done. Why does a customer have to go through such measures to cancel a card to avoid any more overdraft fees? That's ludicrous.

I have been a Chase Bank customer for over ten years and did know all this time that they have been scamming me out of thousands of dollars if not tens of thousands of dollars through the years. Every time I would confront them about what was going on they would tell me that they don't know what I am talking about and that their charges are legal. Mostly when I would say to them that I can't be the only one who has this problem all they would do is look at me and say nothing.

What I am talking about is overdraft fees and overdraft protection. When my ex girlfriend and I got together we opened a joint Chase Bank account. We always had a steady weekly flow of paychecks directly deposited. We never had a need for overdraft protection however one day we received a letter explaining how our account reach certain achievements allowing our account to receive overdraft protection. Well, at that time it meant nothing to us. Our limit became $700 of overdraft protection after my ex and I split up. Still I had no worries even though she had left me and her paycheck was no longer being directly deposited. Not long after that an unknown charge came into the account that caused an overdraft that created a domino effect of overdrafts. The charge that came in was explained to me to be a penalty fee for the discontinue of one of the direct deposit.

OK, I understand the penalty but it seemed to be placed at a most obvious inconvenient time without warning. For a long time I could not balance my checking account correctly because I never knew how many other overdrafts were going to come through. I even tried to view it online as suggested by a Chase Bank employee. That was always unhelpful due to all the changes and adjustments being made throughout the day. It was so complicated and I believe it was by design. For instance, it would show some charges denied or over drafted. later it would show being covered or paid. I truly believed that the bank figured out my method of paying my bills and decided to wait for me to write my biggest check and would allow the charge. Afterwards they would then allow overdraft on multiple small charges knowing that there was a hidden overdraft fee coming from an earlier occurrence.

Try to remember that it was impossible to balance my ledger because I never knew what was going on with my account. It is easy to say that I didn't know enough about math or simply didn't try harder to figure it out. That isn't the case. I tried to watch over my account like a hawk. No sooner than clearing this up time after time, there was always something that would overdraft my account and each time they would have a ridiculous legal reason for the penalty fees or a overdraft fee. As I mentioned in the beginning that I battled this for over ten years, they would tell me to close the account and start another one. I would always agree to but they would never close the account due to the activity.

They would explain to me that as long as I owed the bank money, it would have to remain open. In October of this year, I decided to leave this account alone for two months to let it rejuvenate. On December 9th of 2015 at 12:00 am it finally became above $0. In fact I had $17.00 in that account. I tried to view the balance online but was denied access to the account. I called Chase Bank right away. They claimed that they had to close the account on December 8th of 2015 at 11:59 pm due to too little of activity of the account.

Ok, I failed to mention that in the process of trying to get my head above water with this account I lost my home and belongings. I now travel to make what little money I can and living in my truck. Chase Bank (JP Morgan) refuses to reopen my account and will not give me the $17.00. To be fair they agree to send me a check. The problem is I am homeless. There is no place to send me a check. They refuse to write me an in house check that I can take straight to the teller to cash. Instead they stand by their lie of not having the ability to do so. As I see it, they have ruined my life. I hope this is helpful to those found in my same situation.

Had I not been attending to my accounts as usual I would not have known my accounts were closed. I am very upset and disturb about how they attended to this matter. After speaking to 3 Chase employees no one reinstated my account. I am currently banking with Chase; and I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Chase Bank notified me yesterday at 4:13 p.m. that my account was overdrawn. I immediately went to the bank and deposited money in the ATM to correct this problem. A check was to be deposited to my account electronically the first thing the next morning between 4:13 p.m. and 6 a.m. The next morning, two electronic debit came out of my account and I was charged a total of $68 for those two transactions. I contacted customer service about this since many banks now are offering a 24-hour grace period. Chase was unwilling to work with a long time customer of theirs to save an account for a grand total of $68.

I had my mortgage with Chase and they sold it to another company. I have had problems with debit cards that have been debited without my permission and this latest dealing with customer service has now made me decide to switch banks. Apparently if you're just struggling to get by $68 is not worth keeping you as a customer. I think I'll go to Huntington, what they do offer a 24-hour grace and as their commercials have shown on TV, they actually seem to care about the customers. Chase apparently has plenty of customers and and obviously it doesn't value my account. I encourage everyone to look at smaller banks and banks that pride themselves on customer service.

Chase has been involved in a lot of shady dealings that we've seen on the news in the past few years. I am NOT going to bank somewhere who doesn't care about keeping a customer. I realize it was my fault, the account became overdrawn, but for a long time customer, to be charged $68 in less than 12 hours is simply ridiculous to me. I thank them so much for spoiling what little I was going to try to do for Christmas by taking $68 out of my account. It was very apparent from the tone of the Customer Service Supervisor I spoke with that losing a customer did not matter to her and does not affect her check one single bit. I thank them for taking the joy out of Christmas by deducting $68 out of my account. Merry Christmas big banking!

I have many years of experience with Chase. My Mother, prior to her death, was a branch manager. I have checking, savings, retirement accounts and a car loan and credit card. My sister had a small retirement account. She died intestate, and I duly and properly filed an Affidavit of Heirship, recorded it, prepared the necessary paperwork, sent it off to Chase and then started getting complex instructions all involving formal probate proceedings (remembering she died intestate). Most of these instruction are specific to New York state probate, although I live in Texas and my sister lived and died in Texas. Nothing breaks through to this people. They're simply ill-tempered box checkers and pencil pushers. Presumably, trying to help customers is discouraged. A most unpleasant and on-going process with no resolution seen.

Hopefully with the way information travels over the internet these days people will find out that if you can deal with any other bank you’re are going to be better off. I wouldn't be surprised if most CHASE employees banked somewhere else just because they know they will get better service at another bank. AVOID THESE PEOPLE.

12/11/2015 I went to talk to a teller because I had lost my wallet two days ago and yesterday my reoccurring gym membership was billed, and since I didn't have enough money in my account I got charged with a $35 overdraft fee this morning. I told her that I was trying to deposit some money into my account so that I wouldn't be overdrawn and if there was anything we could do about the overdraft fee (considering the fact that I had no card to deposit money into my account yesterday and by the time I got off work, 6pm, they were already closed). She kept asking me for my ID but I told her I didn't have any because they were all in my wallet so she tells me I have to go to the DMV to get a temporary ID.

After checking the DMV and realizing the line was too long (with rain) I came back to the branch with my Certificate of Citizenship to use as a form of ID. The bank teller tells me that I cannot use that as a form of ID. After explaining to her that I don't have any other form of ID, the DMV is full, it's raining, and asking her what I can do to deposit money to avoid being charged again for overdraft she tells me "I don't know, we can't help you out with that. But make sure you get money into your account, otherwise the bill is going to be charged again tomorrow morning." I saw it as a huge middle finger to me ignoring my problem but still asking for their money. Worst bank experience ever.

From my understanding since I gave my promotional code to the account specialist opening the account for me it would be their fault and not mine. Also, how does one message them within 7 days if they say it takes 30 days after the first direct deposit? Really peeved at the poor customer service offered.

The representative explained that an amount of $200 will be made available for me. So, instead of cashing my disbursement at the local check cashing place, I went ahead and made the deposit in my account through the ATM. After, making the deposit I tried to withdraw $40 from my account. And to my surprise I was not able to do so. So, I called again and ask another representative "what was the problem with some of the funds being made available," the representative explained, "for some account holders after 90 days, this feature is made available and that the funds will be released tomorrow." So, I asked to speak to her supervisor.

After explaining to him the situation, he explained, that there is nothing to be done and apologized for the inconveniences. So, asked to speak to a manager. The supervisor put me on hold for an additional 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes a Manager by the name of Emerson **, told me that there was nothing that they could do for me and the representatives gave me inaccurate information. Because I am a prepaid account holder for chase bank, the feature that allows me an available balance of $200 is not offered to prepaid customers, the funds will not be available the next day but within the next 2 days, and there is nothing any phone representative can do because the tool that allows them to make funds immediately available has been made unavailable for phone representatives.

The consequences of the inaccurate information given by Chase phone Representatives resulted into some of my essential services being terminated. My child and I had to spend a couple nights away from home until the funds were available for me to reactivate my services. During the first few years of opening the account, they will only charge a fee if your account is really overdrawn. Then they just charge however and whenever works best for them. I know this because I left the first time this happened, came back with lots of promises and now years later it's happening again. Since the bank closed at 1 p.m., I arrived at 12:10, plenty of time to get my request processed. Instead, I was asked to wait for a personal banker to see me. There was only one in the branch at the time. He finally approached me at 12:57 and told me he would not help me because they were closing at 1.

I explained I had been waiting for nearly an hour, that I had lost my house to a flood and I needed this check endorsed. He showed zero empathy or compassion for my situation. He never said, "I'm sorry about your loss," or "I'm sorry I'm unable to help you; I wish I could." He made none of the comments you would expect from a community banker serving its members. I expected my bank to step up for me in this time of crisis. I guess I expected too much. It wasn't clear to me if he was unable to help because bank rules barred him from working past 1, or if he just didn't want to help me. Either way, it was a horrible experience to be turned away from my bank when I needed help in this very desperate time. Shame on Chase, and shame on the personal banker for his callous treatment of me. If I could rate my experience with a negative number, I would.

You would think they could just cancel the debit card that was mailed but no reason given for why online accounting was also frozen.

The worst part is they won't let his parents- who have power of attorney- do anything (which is the whole point of power of attorney- right? That they be able to go into the branch if someone is indisposed?). AND they won't let us go to any partner bank here in Canada, which is just absurd. Chase Bank! REALLY? Chase bank has its ACH bank accounts once called a debit card account! The debit card name continues with twist! ACH means Automated Clearing House! A new way that Chase has to defraud its clients! Up until now a debit card meant if there was money in the account only then would the bank honor the demand! If the money wasn't there then it was too bad for the debt collector. ACH twisted the definition of debit cards! It was presented to me as your debt will be paid on demand with the banks funds if my funds are insufficient whether or not I approve it! And as a benefit to Chase they will charge me a $32.00 fine whether I approve or not. The debit card was offered to me as a overdraft account if I wanted it as an over account!

However assuming I refused the overdraft protection I would still be obligated to have ACH protection on a debit card which is exactly the same as overdraft protection on debit card charges. As a result every time I charge something or inadvertently a fraudulent charge by a fraudulent retailer has occurred with my account and was paid by Chase bank and I was hit with the fines as well as the fraudulent charge! So, do you really think a debit card is a debit card?! Chase bank continues its fraudulent consumer theft even after over the last 15 years being fined well over 10 billion dollars. And after these monstrous fines no one has been imprisoned but its senior staff including its CEO continue the fraud! And why not? When I first called Chase, I was treated like I was an idiot, they were trying to explain to me how banking works (I think most people know the basics), they then told me it was my responsibility to figure out where the check went. After calling 5 different times, I was finally told what I needed to do to start a claim. They told me they would send me the information via my secure email through my account. When they sent it, I could not open it (again I was treated like an idiot until I went into an actual branch and even their manager couldn't open it). Their IT department said they would look into it, never heard back.

When I went into the bank, no apologies were offered. They told me they had 90 days to get me the money back. It has been 80 days and still no communication from them. They have had over $600 of mine for almost 3 months. I call once a week and get told the same thing, they have 90 days. I have asked Chase every time to credit my account, they will not. This check was for my last car payment, which of course was threatened to be repossessed for non-payment. I just left there, Linda waited on me... No. Every option I suggested they said "No" before I could even finish.

I asked to talk to the branch manager, he said, "I am the branch manager." He was working as a teller. All their tellers were gone. They were new, I wasn't new.

Could not deposit cash into my account with my checkbook deposit slip with my name and account number pre-printed on it. I'm done with Chase. She asked me some questions to "update" my account; income, why balances so high etc. Then came back and told me that based on "her" review, and hers alone, had decided to lower my credit limits substantially which made them almost useless to us (5k). I explained to her that we started a new business and in addition to the $150k we used (cash) we needed to use personal credit cards to buy things for the business, and credit cards are a great way to keep track of expenses and earn points where they're available.

We then recently paid off our credit card debt with a home equity loan. (Our home is free and clear and valued at 2M). With the amount of income we have, and the lack of deductions, we paid off our credit cards with the loan in order to get the deduction and clear most of our credit balances. It is actually a smart way to work finances, especially when you can get a 0% interest rate for a substantial amount of time. I forgot to mention, our credit history is literally perfect, no lates EVER, history going back almost 30 years, and a fica score of just over 800 last I checked.

Wanting proof my sister wrote the check, they want her to go into a branch with two forms of ID, only problem is there are no Chase banks in her area. Again the check has cleared her bank and they are still keeping my funds collecting interest on it I'm sure. If I kept someone's money that would be theft, but it's OK for Chase to do it? I do not see how that is legal. To beat all, Chase called my sister's old number and discussed the situation with her ex-husband's new girlfriend that has that number now.

Why is Chase Bank allowed to do such a terrible and unprofessional thing? Bottom line is if you want the worst banking experience in your life and allow people to STEAL your money bank at Chase. The most insane part is I read several comments on this site that is just like mine. Sorry sorry bank, if anyone knows of legal action I can take, please let me know...

I contested a bill with a dentist, the dentist (in Mexico) lied when given an opportunity to respond and Chase believed them. I had to re appeal the claim and Chase bungled it by paying the dentist before my expert opinion had arrived to them. Chase then took 1 year and 5 months to respond as to why they paid the extremely bad dentist (15 other complaints on internet at same time period) by saying that my re-appeal had arrived late - not true. It arrived 4 days before the deadline - Chase imposed! They will now not be responsible for their error - it's time to try and get the $6,000 dentist bill and the $1,300 cost to re-appeal back from them in the courts - wish me luck!! Do not go near this bank - things can go horribly wrong there.

Worst bank ever! I used Chase Quickly to send money to another Chase account, and Chase sent the money to a Bank Of America account. My friend has never had a Bank Of America account. I do not recommend Chase bank to anyone. I even called Bank Of America and they told me exactly what could be done, and the money could still be taken out of the account it was unauthorized to be sent to, but Chase still refuses to help. The representatives on the phone wouldn't even fix the claim after I told them what Bank Of America said. We are thinking of switching banks. Now I am out $615.00.

I then contacted the department per the customer service which was a 45 minute hold time to be informed that Chase had closed my account and a check for my current balance would be mailed to me with seven days. No explanation or reason for the rude attitude and absolutely no concern as to how this may affect me. Being a single mother and living on a fixed budget this was shocking and disturbing since they made you feel like a criminal. They are bullish morons and I will pursue this situation in other legal arenas so they don't think that they can continue with the unethical methods towards their customers.

I just feel like there is no compassion or understanding whatsoever. They do not care about their customers. I drafted a letter on 11/4/15, for the purpose of resolving a matter with my account with Chase. I have asked for assistance for more than 3 weeks with no resolve. Today, I attempted to pay a bill with my debit card, and was advised by the merchant that the transaction was declined. I consistently check my balances and knew that there were moneys in that account. Upon further research, I was advised by a Chase representative after being transferred to the Fraud Department, that my accounts had been closed and that Chase has terminated my banking relationship with them. My first response was that this must be a mistake. As the banker stated to me, I have been a longstanding customer and have appropriately managed my accounts. In the last year or so I have inherited a lot of responsibility due to a parent becoming ill. That has required me to open and maintain multiple accounts, including representative payee accounts.

I have been diligent in those responsibilities, and therefore I am devastated by the idea of losing my accounts with Chase. I immediately contacted Chase by phone, and was disconnected. At that point, I felt compelled to go to the branch for understanding and resolution. After all, I am the customer who has been patiently waiting for a resolution to my account as previously noted. In no way, would I expect to be further grieved by the possibility of being terminated as a customer. I spoke with the manager of the branch, who too was unable to clarify the reason for the issue. Apologized. And offered me an additional phone number. I am a regular customer, very liked and well-known from state to state. Even they found it difficult to understand why I was in this predicament. The manager stated it was a team that reviews the accounts.

I find it ironic that while I'm in the process of addressing an error on the part of a bank representative, that before that is addressed, I am banned from banking with an institution that I have banked with for a considerable amount of time. I am a hard working person, who has a legitimate source of income. I always present my identification and bank card when requested. I have never incited anger or attacked any banker, teller, etc. though I have expressed my displeasure when unprofessional conduct on the part of the bank representative has occurred. I have had bumps in my accounts, but have done my best to always resolve those things. Recently, an account was compromised, and a charge off was imminent, however, I went into the branch and advised the banker that I was concerned about the person linked to that account and asked for the account to be closed.

I was told the other person would be responsible for the fees and the closing of that account. The account was no longer available for me to inquire about. As a customer, I feel I should be entitled to know why I am being denied a continued banking relationship with Chase. It has rocked the foundation of what services and products I believed I was receiving from a banking institution that has at least 5,700 branches. I am deflated and devastated.

This is an unacceptable business practice. I would like an explanation and an opportunity to address the concern in an attempt to resolve a matter I didn't know I created. If this is how Chase conducts business, it is unfortunate. Chase has made me feel like a criminal. And if that's not insulting enough, Chase is taking their time to give me access to my funds. I gave bills to pay. Bills their tellers helped get me behind in! I also learned that J.P. Morgan Chase is not affiliated with the BBB. Is that true?

I was a happy Wamu customer and then Chase swooped in and bought them. Worst merger allowed. I was a gold customer with Wamu and never paid fees. About 4 months ago Chase decided to drop that type of account and switched me to something else without me knowing. I get paid once monthly, and yes by a paper check. Chase doesn't like that. I kept noticing a $12.00 maintenance fee coming out on the 25th. Since all my bills are auto pay I only keep enough in the account to cover bills and maybe $5.00 - 6.00 extra. The first time they waived the fee because of the account change, but the next 3 times no. Once I was out of the country, and when I got home, was horrified at the daily insufficient funds fee of $35.00. I complained loudly to my branch manager and she reversed everything but the $12.00. When I asked why not, she basically said not to get greedy. She said it was my fault not theirs.

Last month nothing at all came out, so I figured I was back on my old type of account. So this month I left the same 6.00 extra. My statement date is the 25th, so on Monday nothing was out and I thought nothing of it. Tuesday here we go, overdraft again. When I called they were indignant, and when I pointed out my statement date, they side stepped the issue of course. I closed the account and told them to fix the $12.00 themselves. When I told them that my other bank charges me absolutely zero, has no balance requirements, nor direct deposit requirements, she thanked me for my business and wished me a nice day. Bottom line, don't bank with these thieves or Bank of America. Two biggest fee happy banks in the U.S.

I finally received an offer for a permanent job since being laid off in 2006. Due to the recession and being unemployed, I foreclosed on a property. The original loan consisted of a 1st and 2nd mortgage. The 2nd mortgage was taken over by Chase and charged off. My new job required me to pay off the charged off loan. I contacted Chase on 8/3/15 and was told the loan was owned by a private sector investor and they have noted "No partial payments accepted, balance must be paid in full." Then the rep. went into another system and told me the private investor has written the account off and the balance was $0. I was then informed that I would get a statement showing $0 by the end of the week because it had to be ordered and printed by another company. I did not received the statement so I called Chase again and was told there was still a balance of $29,804 and the first person gave me the wrong information.

Every time I call Chase Charge Off I get a different representative and a different answer. I finally received a rep. who gave me her extension and actually tried to help me. She ordered a payoff statement which took over 3 weeks to received. I called back and the rep. had to contact another area and was then emailed the statement but could not send it to me. Fortunately, she could give me the balance and it increased to over $31,000 which included interest. I wanted to pass out. I didn't have $31,000 and I need this new job.

I decided to take out a home equity loan since I have over $73,000 equity in my home. Well this home is financed by Chase also so I was denied. I borrowed and scraped up all I could and came up with the payoff. I wired the monies to Chase per instructions from the Charge Off department on 8/21 and a roughly one month later the monies was returned stating "Money sent to us by mistake." It cost $30 to wired the payoff and they sent it back. REALLY... The rep. who finally could help instructed me to fax the paperwork (which I did) and she would get me a paid off statement. I guess this is why I never received a paid off statement.

I have called Chase Charge Off so many times that on my last call the rep. stated, "I see you have a lot of notes on your file. I'll forward this to a manager and call you back tomorrow." It's been over 3 weeks and I have not received a call. Every time I call, I get a different person and a different answer. No one can seem to answer my simple questions: who is the Private Sector Investor, why I cannot arrange a payment or settle on the account, and why was my payment returned. I know it was my fault for foreclosing on the loan but I am trying to correct my wrong. This is the only issue that I have on my credit. Even with this mark I still have a credit score over 700. Any help is appreciated.

First off I want to say I have been with Chase over a year now and any problem I have had with them has been resolved immediately and thoroughly with a full apology, even if it was my fault...until now. In August around the 28th-31st, of 2015, I went on vacation. I used my Chase card for the hotel charge. The hotel took the money needed for the room. Two days later they refunded the entire room price to my account. The next day my account funds were doubled. I waited about 4 days, checking my account daily to see when the error would be fixed, it never was so I paid a bill with the extra money in my account. THEN that's when Chase wants to release the hotel payment AGAIN and charge me for the "insufficient funds" for the bill I paid previously.

I immediately went to Chase about this problem and there is not proof of the amount that was in my bank account to prove my word, plus they blamed me saying that there was only a certain amount in my account when both the web and mobile apps showed I had more than enough funds to cover the hotel charge and the bill I paid. My problem is still not resolved and it is now Oct 16th, 2015. I had taken my problem to BBB last week and had to again, contact Chase myself to let them know "Hey, I sent you to the BBB since you guys aren't helping me out. Why haven't you responded to my case yet??" I then received a response on the BBB complaint the same day stating that they have reviewed my issue and have sent a letter of response to me. Even when this gets resolved, I am going to probably leave this bank.

This has truly ruined my trust with Chase. I am a college student, struggling to start my own business, fix my credit, and get my degree. I can't afford all these unnecessary charges especially when they aren't even my fault! If this multi-million (billion, probably) dollar bank can't refund $354 dollars then they shouldn't be in business anymore. That is a penny to them whereas it's a freaking arm and leg for me! This is ridiculous!

On Wednesday, September 30th an investigator from Adult Protection Services came to my home unannounced. My caregiver let him in and he asked to talk to me. The investigator told me that someone from Chase reported that my caregiver cashed checks from me that over the last 4 months that had "Landscaping" in the comment line. He said in that 4 month period those checks totaled $20,000. I explained that before I was disabled I was a banker for 35 years and the comment line on a check is solely for the customer records.

I said that my caregiver basically does everything for me. She works 6 days a week for about 10-12 hours a day. She drives my son to and from school every day. She buys him breakfast and a snack after school. She does all my grocery shopping. She gets all my prescriptions from a pharmacy. She drives me to and from all my doctor appointments and when I have to have medical tests. Since the only time I am not in my hospital bed is for the trips to the doctor and well I water my landscaping from my wheelchair. Because I am basically trapped in my home I have asked her to improve my landscaping so I could enjoy my surroundings. Rather than give her 5 or 6 checks a week for the hours she works and reimbursement for her buying my groceries, prescriptions, meals for my son, miles driven and all the tools used on my landscape, flowers, fertilizer, trees, pots for plants as they grow, etc...

I said being a CFO at 2 banks and an executive vice president of banks as large as $600 billion and while I am physically handicapped my mind is unchanged. I asked the agent if he looked at the landscaping outside my home. He admitted he had not. I pointed out that there were 4 Palm Trees as tall as 25 feet with very exotic plants between the Palm Trees. I pointed out a new row of shrubs along one side of my house. I pointed out all the large plants around my pool. I pointed out the new furniture outside and an outside kitchen in process. I asked him if I could take him on a tour of the outside of my home. He said it wouldn't be necessary so I said "When you leave please notice because I am on the corner and I wanted the landscaping to be as nice as my backyard".

I told him what type of plants that was used and that rather than a 2-3 feet rectangle of plants in the front of their homes and the plants were the ones put in 40 years ago when these homes were built and only in the front of the house. Since I was on the corner I had significant landscaping there as well. I also said "Please look at the border of my landscaping. There are 2 bricks stacked on top of each other and were painted bright white. While my ex-wife and not my caregiver had someone put those in and they by themselves were $10,000". I said "If bricks were $10,000 I would challenge anyone to do all that landscaping for $20,000 and I pay her for all those other duties". He said he rarely sees something this frivolous and he was closing this case.

I have never spoken to a person in a Chase branch in 2-3 years. I am a very calm person now knowing that I have not much longer to live. I couldn't believe Chase did this. This person has been cashing checks for almost 2 years at Chase and nobody questioned this woman who I trust my and my son's life to. I felt that her reputation was tarnished because this agency was asked to look at such ridiculous allegations. I also felt that a teller who never met me and had no idea about my background without ever speaking to me he was questioning my intelligence.

On September 30th as the agent was interviewing my caregiver I was getting dressed. When I was dressed and the agent was done I had my caregiver drive me to the Chase branch. I handed a teller withdrawal slips from my 2 deposit accounts. The teller asked me how I wanted the money and I said "Hundreds would be perfect". Immediately he started making snide remarks about me and actually said several lies to me. The two withdrawals were not very large but he told me he couldn't give me that much cash. I asked why and he said "This is a busy branch" and he needed that money for other customers. Very calmly I said "It is 30 minutes before you close and you have a cash drawer and the other teller has 2 cash drawers, one regular drawer and a drawer for the drive-thru lanes and I assume you have a vault and with the drive-thru ATM and the brand of walk up ATM they alone must have at least $80,000 alone".

He then started making jabs at me and said "I can only give you $15,000 in cash". Calmly I said "I'm willing to take any kind of money. I'll take pennies, nickels, quarters, dollars bills anything". He then said, "Limply you can either take $15,000 and go buy a new cane or I'll kick you out of my bank". I was stunned. I have neuropathy throughout my entire body and can't handle stress. I said "Fine I'll take the $15,000 but if you're that short of cash in a busy branch why don't you just request a special cash delivery. You can still get it in for a delivery first thing tomorrow morning. I'll even pay for that". He then muttered several more insults and said "Do I need to kick your cane and you out of my bank?" I said" I never wanted to come to Chase today and now I'm being verbally abused. I'll take the $15,000". He went behind the teller station to get a cashier check.

After 5 minutes I told the other teller I needed to sit down. I walked to a chair in the lobby and my body for some reason pulls into itself when I start getting significant pain. I also close my eyes. About another 5-8 minutes passed and he walked up and kicked my foot and said, "What's wrong with you? You have a sleep disorder?" I said I was in pain. He said, "Ahhh, come on limply I need to call for approval. So what's wrong with you?" This was right by the teller line where he said he has a busy branch. I said "I rather not discuss this". He said "I rather not give you my cash, so I'd start answering me". We then got into a closed office and he dialed a number. While he waited for an approval he kept asking medical questions. Finally he got approval and he gave me a blue zippered bag and 2 cashier's checks.

He never counted the money and said he wasted too much time on me already and he left the office. I was bent over from pain and he said "You need to work on that posture". On Friday I asked my caregiver to make a cash deposit for me. I looked at all the bills that were scheduled and I wanted to make sure I had extra money in Chase because my chronic pain was off the chart and I wasn't sure if I would be healthy enough to open new accounts at another bank. When my caregiver got to my house Saturday morning with 2 adults to help her with plants. She said "They wouldn't accept cash from me because I'm not on the account. You have to deposit it but you look bad." I said "I'll just sit in the passenger seat, go through the drive-thru this can't take 5 minutes". As she pulled up I said "My nerves are on fire. I'm going to turn as far I can and stare out the passenger window".

The lady in the bank seat said, "Bob, another teller just came over and he is holding each bill up to the light tearing it and he looks at it again holding it up to three light". I didn't look because I was already in really bad pain. I knew I had to give them my ID but I was going to have as little interaction as possible. Finally the teller gave my caregiver the deposit slip and then I turned around and said, "Can I ask you a question? When did Chase get prejudice? She couldn't deposit the cash yesterday because she isn't on the account and now you did and didn't ask my ID".

He stuttered and said "We see you 2 all the time". I replied," I have only been to this branch once and my nurse was in her car. So you knew me by looking past her and looking at the back of my head? The lady in the backseat said someone was holding each bill to the light. I assume you were looking for counterfeits? I haven't been trained on that so can I bring the other $11,500 back so they could be checked for counterfeits, they are still in the blue Chase bag." The teller said, "I never said they were counterfeit. One of the bills was old". Calmly I said, "None were old, they all came from the same trip. They were all brand new and the woman said every bill was looked at not one".

The teller that abuse me on September 30 started shouting at me. "I thought I told you never to come to my bank again. We don't need your type in the branch. You need to leave and you are never coming back here, I don't need you in my bank. We don't want you...your type in my bank. I'll make sure you never come back". The 3 other people in the car were stunned. They were in the backseat saying they never heard anybody speak to a customer like that just because you asked a question. I tried to pull myself together and as Gregory was glaring at the car I said, "One last question. When you kept saying "YOU", was I the "YOU" and your bank didn't need disabled people or was the "YOU" directed to the 3 African Americans as well?" "You will never be allowed in my bank again, hope you feel well" and he started to laugh.

I was in bed very ill all day October 3 and 4th because of the pain. My caregiver tried to talk me to go to the hospital but I told her I just want to get that whole situation behind me. On Saturday evening, October 10th my son brought me the mail. I was having another bad day. I really didn't have a good day since the abuse occurred. On Sunday, October 11th about 9:30 PM, I was healthy enough to look at the mail from Saturday. The first thing I opened was a letter from Chase saying they were closing all my accounts for suspicious activity and me not giving them information from me about certain transactions. I checked my home phone and cellphone and I had no message or missed calls from Chase. I opened my e-mail account and I had no e-mails.

I read the letter again and noticed the date of the letter was Monday, October 5th. So the letter was generated to close my accounts because a teller questioned my health in front of customers in the lobby and when he took me to the office and he never counted the $15,000 he just gave me a blue Chase bag and he verbally abused me on September 30th and October 3rd. The letter said my debit card, credit card and deposit accounts were closed on Monday, October 5th. I started calling Chase immediately. I spoke to 3 people on the 11th for 2 hours and wasn't told why my account were closed, what was suspicious. The last call was to their Executive area and I was hung up on.

I continued calling on the 12th. The 4th person I talked to said usually the investigation would be complete in 21 days but it could be longer. If it took 5 days for the money to be mailed to me that meant I would not get my money including a $20,000 deposit that my closed account was made to accept on the 8th. I asked why their automated deposit sent back to Liberty Mutual which is what they told me happens when they try and send money to a closed account. Chase wouldn't even release that money. None of the people would tell me what caused the account to close. I was really stressing as I have everything set up electronically and without that $20,000 and I wasn't getting my money until maybe mid-November.

I called Chase several times again and sent an e-mail to the various departments that had e-mailed me over the years. I asked the rep to"Please direct me to someone that could help me". I heard nothing. I kept calling on October 14th and learned nothing. On the 15th I spoke to 5 different people. Two of the people told me that there was never any questions about anything and there was "NO UNUSUAL ACTIVITY ON MY ACCOUNT". So a teller is upset because he sees my caretaker cashing checks every week that was more than he made. Even though he didn't know me or look at the landscaping around my house or call me and request to talk to me he calls Adult Protective Services and files a frivolous charge.

Then I go into that branch for the first time in my life and a teller lies to me, makes jokes about me and is talking about my health in an open lobby that he even admitted was very busy. He refused my request for all cash and abuses me and then on October 3rd while I had to be there for Chase to take my deposit. They take the deposit but never ask for ID, lie about knowing their customer because they see me all the time, they look at every $100 bill I was given by Chase but refused to check the other cash they gave me in a blue bag (never counted to me). Because of all of the stress I was not physically able to go to my neurologist who is probably my most important doctor. I was promised callbacks by a decision maker. Of course that didn't happen. I have a 2 hour doctor appointment tomorrow but given how I feel and my stress, I doubt I'll be able to attend that appointment either.

I attempted a cash advance through one of Chase's ATMs. It declined the transaction and gave me a receipt that said "transaction cancelled" but later showed up on my credit card bill. Chase said they could not submit a claim on my behalf because I was not a Chase Bank customer. Huh? You steal money from me and then claim you can't give it back because I'm not a customer?? Luckily my credit card company is reimbursing me for the money. The receipt had the ATM number, the sequence number, the date of the transaction. How can a company get away with straight-up theft??

I am helping a friend receive his inheritance from his mother's estate. Chase Bank has lost his mother's account signature cards which are a P.O.D. These accounts have been tossed around from bank to bank during banking takeovers - from Great Western to Home Savings to Washington Mutual to Chase Bank. He has been trying for several years with no success to clear up this problem. He was working with an assistant manager of Chase Bank in Long Beach until she was fired. When she got fired, she shredded the copies of all the proof/paperwork that he provided.

Yesterday, I took him to a Chase Relationship Banker Officer. This officer was helpful at first, but when he could not see the signature card on his computer, he called another department of Chase Bank. The phone call went on for about 15 minutes. When the banking officer ended the call, the officer was suddenly disrespectful and he told us there was nothing they can do. He told us they cannot find the signature card and my friend needs to go through probate. He should not have to go through probate. These are open accounts, there should and must be a signature card on file. All open accounts have signature cards. This can happen to anyone. Get a copy of your signature card. If they won't give you one, take your business elsewhere. This seems to be of fraud by the banking system. What do we do next?

They lost mine and my husbands debit cards in the mail. We waited a MONTH. When I asked a week later after opening an account with them, then I asked 2 weeks, then 3 and the boom a month. I asked and asked until they finally sent me another card that was suppose to be sent overnight. Well then 2 more days past finally received my card. Not only a month later I finally received my debit card. I almost lost my vehicle because CHASE lost my stuff through the mail and had a nerve to tell me there was nothing they can do.

Then a few later I deposit my check. I specifically told the teller that I needed all money to be available I have bills to pay pls. So after leaving the bank of course I start making my calls to pay for my truck and they told me my card declined. I was very very upset. So I called back Chase, explained to them that my check needs to be available. They told me there was absolutely nothing they can do. After being on the phone with Chase for 4 hours trying to get my money available from MY CHECK they withheld my money from me because they said my check was still pending until the next business day.

This is a horrible bank. I feel they have no right to hold anyone's money and they have a lot of improvement starting with customer service. I work hard for my money and for them to hold onto something that belongs to me is completely ridiculous. I was with U.S. Bank for years never had any issues. Never. But because we moved to New York Chase was the way we thought to go but we were wrong. Canceling our account with this horrible Bank Chase.

I contacted Chase to see if they could waive 2 overdraft fees that were charged to my account. I was unable to go to the bank to make a deposit due to a family emergency (my mother passed away). I informed the representative of what happened and why I was unable to make it to the bank and she could not help me. I was then transferred to a supervisor and still, he could not assist me. Chase has charged me over $300 in overdraft fees because the system "conveniently" pushes through transactions the day before my direct deposit OR in an order where the bigger transactions post FIRST, leaving the smaller transactions to post after (resulting in numerous overdraft fees).

Example: my balance is $315 and I have 5 transactions that are showing as "pending": $15.00, $22.00, $8.00, $12.00 and $312.00. Chase will push the $312.00 transaction through FIRST, resulting in 4 overdraft fees instead of pushing the 4 smaller transactions through, resulting in 1 overdraft fee. So here I am, with multiple overdraft fees in 12 months, asking a multi-million dollar (if not billion dollar) corporation to have a heart and waive $68 in fees and I can't get any assistance? Thanks Chase for being there for your customers.

It took me 80 minutes of infuriating phone conversations to get the matter straightened out. I applaud WELLS FARGO. Not only was account frozen immediately to protect me - On the same day, after going to CHASE, this person also impersonated me at WF. WELLS FARGO realized and took ID/card & she left without my funds. 2 banks were provided same information, same day... One acted proactively while the other!? Chase is a complete joke and their reasoning behind the denial (not to mention my disappointment with them throughout [before knowing of denial] is utterly disgraceful.) WORST BANK EVER!! The amount of hassle this bank have caused me is beyond acceptable! I don't usually write reviews, but I am absolutely disgusted and so angry I feel like I have to! As a student, I went on a work and travel visa programme this summer and opened my bank account with chase. On returning home I had a balance on over $1000 left in my account as my last pay cheque went in when I had already left the country. I then got in contact with the Chase Bank customer service office on the 28th of August where I organised with them to have my account closed, and my balance sent out to be in the form of a cheque. As a student I badly needed this money ASAP as the beginning of college is a very expensive time.

I've waited for 5 weeks and there's still no sign of my cheque! Then during the last week of September I made contact with them to find out what was happening. This was when I was told my account was very closed down. Even though I no longer had access to my internet banking?? How was this?? I then spoke to a manager, and told them I wanted my account to be closed immediately, and my cheque sent to me like it should have been in August. I was told that I would have to get my bank account number for this to be made possible. How was I to get my bank account number when they had already shut down my internet banking?? There was no other way to get this.

I then got in contact with my former work place in the USA and luckily they still had my bank details on file. "Phew" I thought, I'll finally get my money now. But I was very wrong! I phoned the customer service department immediately upon receiving my account details where I was told that I needed my Chase liquid card to answer the security questions. After answering the security questions and them not matching up, I was informed that a new chase liquid card had been sent out to me even though not only did I not request it, but my account my suppose to be closed. "Another excuse as to why I can't get my much needed money" I thought. At this stage I was struggling to pay my deposit for my rent which is what I had saved up this money for during the summer. 2 weeks later my bank card came and I thought "Finally, there's nothing else they can tell me is wrong now." But once again this was untrue.

Today, on October 2nd, 5 weeks after my account was supposed to be closed and my cheque sent out to me, I rang the service department once again. This time they told me was, card was inactive and therefore they could not close my account! So 5 weeks on and I still have no solution to receive MY much needed money! One woman I was talking to in the customer service department even suggested then I return to the USA to withdraw my money. Return to the USA from Ireland - a flight that is over 6 hours, hundreds of euros! I have lodged a complaint and am still waiting to hear back and I'll probably be waiting for a long time yet if Chase Bank handle all of the affairs in the same manner they handled mine!

Worst bank ever. They allowed 25 fraudulent checks pass through our business account that were handwritten & electronically signed and check #s that were already used. No red flags. I am the only one who signs the checks, they are voucher checks only printed through quickbooks AND the check sequences were of all 25 checks that were previously used checks, For different payees different amounts and that were already cleared 3 weeks before. I had to contact them... There was no alert to our company. I had to tell them. Our account was out almost $20,000.00. I had to open new account with them. They said it would take 24 hrs. then they said 1 to 2 days, then they said 3 to 5 days, then it could possibly take up to 10 days.

They do not know what they are talking about whether at the branch or the 20 to 30 people that I have been in contact with. 2 days still no email, no calls from them to follow up with our company. And most importantly no reversals of the fraud or their overdraft fees. Need to deal with a real, knowledgeable, understanding, caring for their customers bank. CHASE you are not that bank. Train your staff better.

UPDATED ON 03/30/2016: For the 2nd time our business account had fraudulent checks processed. NOT our checks, not our check numbers. 02/29/16 I noticed 12 checks for $125.17 were cashed. Went to bank to dispute items & funds were in fact processed & returned within 24 hrs. I waited on closing account as payroll was coming & I would not have new checks & account in time to process. Big mistake. On 03/01/16 I logged in a/c again as I was now going to check every hour. Then there were another 12 transactions at 125.17 presented through a ATM in Staten Island. I GET ON THE PHONE AGAIN with customer service who actually do know anything. They are outsourced & read from a script & definitely do not have the answers.

I tell them what info I found & they say there is nothing they could do to stop checks from going through the ATM. I say "OK but that person or persons, there were 4 different names on these checks must have an account at Chase since they are processing them through your ATM." They advise that they couldn't give that info out. So crazy. I guess there is so much check fraud going on they just write it off. But for us the customer, it is a little disaster as you have to get new checks, give out new debit info to vendors. And wait for the old account to clear out. They do replace the funds usually within 24 hours. The Page Ave branch was very helpful in setting up accounts. Since they have already been through this with me in September 2015 where they allowed 26 checks totaling over $25,000.00 to be cashed. Again not our checks.

They are making them online, printing them and cashing them fast fast fast in & out. Although I am not responsible for anything not even any charges. I just wish they would try to capture these people & arrest them. They don't seemed interested in doing that like it's a waste of time. What good is having a signature on file if you don't even care who signed the check? They said that THEY DON'T LOOK at the signature. What a joke. I have to answer a million questions before they would even speak to me, but anyone can print up their own fraudulent checks & rob you blind.

If you are in church/temple and you put down a large amount in the plate, would the church or temple refuse it? Mail in deposits? The postal service screws up mail. Drive to bank? What if the bank is not close by? I don't want to drive in traffic, struggle to find a parking place in a parking lot that is not in any way convenient.

In other words, I do not want to waste time putting money into my account. They charge for wiring, stopping payment, but will not allow deposits greater than $5,000 a month! Yes, I'm switching banks. But this deposit limit is widespread not just Chase. It is so very annoying. Chase is not basing it upon the efforts being made, but on outside information. THIS IS COMPLETELY BIAS. THEY ARE PUNISHING THEIR CONSUMERS. Will never utilize Chase or any of its subsidiaries from here on it, for the simple lack of consumer appreciation and loyalty.

My mother gifted me money and sent me a check which I deposited into a branch in Vallejo on 9/3/15. The receipt had a release date of 09/10/15. That was ok since I already had money in the account to use. On 9/10/15, I checked online and my balance reflected the new balance added to what I had in the bank. To my surprise my account was frozen by the end of day 9/10/15. This all comes without reason or warning. I went into a different branch in Vallejo to find out what happened and what I needed to do to get access to my account. I was told to have my mother call the Risk Department and verify that she indeed wrote the check. My mother did so on 9/11/15 and I was told my account would reopen by Monday 9/14/15. On Sunday, 9/13/15, I went online and now I was restricted from viewing my account online.

A call into the risk department revealed that the reopening of my account was denied by the back office because they could not verify that the check cleared my mother's account and there was no real direction as to the steps needed to take. Now I face a check by phone being rejected (authorized after I say my balance available on Thursday and before I learned my account was frozen), no access to my direct deposit tomorrow 9/15/15 to pay my bills or cash to make it to work the rest of the week.

This is ill treatment of customers and without cause. I did not have overdraft. There was money in the bank. My mom and I are going to attempt coordinating simultaneous visits to branches in CA and WA so that we can both be verified and so my mom can contact her bank in form of a Chase banker and authorize her bank to release info to Chase. I no longer trust Chase with my money. Every bad experience I had with banks was with a big bank but this is worse. Hold the check but do not freeze the entire account.

I had a small credit line out on my house...recently closed and sold our house and had our lawyer ask for the final payment needed to close the credit line. Chase gave it to them, we closed and paid off, or thought we paid off the line as they gave us the numbers, but then got threatening letter saying that the loan was short $576.00 (out of 80,000) of which we've paid off on time every month for 10 years...and that if they don't receive this in a certified check within 48 hours they will return all funds and then charge interest and penalties on the full amount of the loan... Are you kidding me? Instead of sending or God forbid, picking up a phone and letting us know nicely that there was a mistake (on their part or whoever's part) and explain that there was still a very very small amount due. Would have paid that off immediately.

But they had to send this threatening letter for which finally the loan officer suggested that it wasn't supposed to go to me but my lawyer? What's the friggin difference? I put in a complaint to Chase, whatever that means, and they filed it and escalated it, wherever that goes, probably from India to Pakistan, and I went that day to get a money order and mailed it two weeks ago. I have not heard back from this person who was in charge of my loan so I called and left messages. Still have not heard back.

So now I'm getting collection calls from another Chase dept for the shortage, which is paid through this money order. They don't know anything about it and threatened to write this off and damage my credit. This person from Chase has been calling me for 6 weeks now and not leaving one message for me to call back. I just assumed it was a telemarketing call so paid no heed. Why wouldn't they leave a message, without any details, that Chase is calling about a certain matter and would like to talk with me??? Nope. So now 6 weeks go by and I have one week until they report me to credit bureaus. This is THE WORST UNFRIENDLY BANK I'VE EVER DEALT WITH AND WILL NEVER, NOR WILL MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS, USE THEM AGAIN AFTER THIS.

I am so disappointed with Chase. When I signed up for my account, I was given 2 options for overdrafts: 1) they would decline the charge altogether or 2) they would cover the charge, however I would be responsible for an overdraft fee. I figured that the charge would go through and I would just pay the $34 on top of the amount overdrawn. Nope! They declined the charge, but always charged me the $34 anyway!!! One time my car note was due, I had money in my account, but I was 3 dollars short on the payment. They kicked the whole payment out and charged me 34 dollars for the being short 3 dollars. It just didn't make any sense to me.

I called and complained. Their accuse was the overdrawn payment has to be in before 11 pm the same business day. They reversed the payment but I still was charged a return fee from my car note when they just could have covered the payment. They have done this too many times. After that I will be closing my account with chase as of today and going to bank of america. I do not recommend them to anyone.

I have been banking with Chase for over 5 years. I never really had much of a problem until recently. In the branch they have begun replacing people tellers with automated tellers which cannot do everything you need it to. You then must wait in line to actually get a person to help you, if they can. In the last month I have had to go inside three times; once to do a withdrawal to include coins (automated tellers can't do coins). I waited in line for approximately 35 minutes, with just two people in front of me in line, while two tellers worked the line and the drive thru windows at the same time.

One of the lobby bankers kept telling people to use the automated tellers. Almost all of them asked if the ATMs could do what they needed with "No" as the response. The two ladies working the drive thru informed every person as they came through that they could do their business through an ATM next time. Is there something wrong with wanting to do efficient business directly with a person? I am a younger adult, but still prefer for a business to at least have a person who can help me out in a decent amount of time. I prefer not to do transactions online or through a machine.

Another time I went into a branch, I had a bill that was paid, but the company did not show it paid to my account and stated I needed to get a copy from the bank to fax them so they could correct the problem. After waiting in line almost 15 minutes, because there was just one teller, she told me I had to sign a waiting list to talk to an "actual banker". So I signed the waiting list with no one ahead of me. After 45 minutes of waiting, my name was called. Before we could get to the "actual banker's" office he started asking what I needed. When I told him, he stopped walking, said I could do that at home online, and walked away. So I spent an hour in the bank waiting to be told I need to do that on my own. He could have at least offered to print it for me since I had waited so long, but did not appear to care.

The third time in the last month is similar. Not enough actual people working, and those that are there just want to you to go to the ATM and leave them alone. No one is friendly at Chase bank anymore, except when telling you that you can do your business on a machine. I am going to another smaller bank that is willing to have a person be there to help customers in a polite efficient manner, and not attempt to force everyone to use machines that cannot even do everything a teller needs to do.

Chase Bank has made me feel extremely unappreciated as a customer. After 5 years with them it is sad to say I would refer people away. I will be finding a new bank soon and I suggest that you do not use Chase unless you are OK with doing everything yourself through an ATM or at home, and get treated poorly if you do ever need a real person. And if you do go to Chase, I hope you never need a quick transaction with a real person because it will not happen.

I have a checking and saving account and a credit card at Chase Bank. My checking account is supposed to be linked to my savings account with over-withdrawal protection. However, over-withdrawing $10,000 from my checking account led to withdrawal from my credit card without my consent and I was forced to pay $400 in interest fees. I have $40,000 in my savings account without interest. Neither the credit card nor the bank will take responsibility for this mistake.

Is this legal? I am on social security disability and my check gets direct deposited each month. The other day I went to atm to ft money out because it goes in on the 3rd. Well it didn't give me any money so I called only to be told they'd closed my acct the day before (on the 2nd) and that they were keeping my disability direct deposit to pay fees I owed them from an old acct that according to the woman that day "had been charged off in 2014". But the guy I talked to yesterday said, "It'd been sold to a collection agency, but they'd gotten all their accts back to collect on them themselves."

Everything I've read clearly states that if you have an acct that you have social security benefits direct deposited into that NO1 can garnish your monies from your acct!!! NO1, except IRS and Child Support. Everything I've read states that! But I just skimmed thru the big 40 some page book they apparently gave me whenever I signed up for my acct with them, and I apparently signed something that I agreed to the terms in that book (which seriously, who's gonna sit there and read all that, I'd been there a week trying to read that crap); HOWEVER, I notice now it states in there that if you overdraw an acct that u give them permission to use funds from other accts, you may have even if the funds in that acct come from social security disability.

So, I'm confused! Where it is a law, you read about it everywhere. Can they make u sign agreeing to let them do this? Not to mention, I am disabled, have been for 12 years, for mental reasons. I suddenly and tragically lost my spouse when our baby was just 4 days old I flipped my lid and haven't been right since. I can't remember certain things. I can't concentrate. I don't understand/comprehend everything that I read, etc. What can I do about this? I have no money to pay my rent now; not to mention, the auto pays I had set up with creditors and utility companies, none of them are going to get paid. Not to mention, I have 3 kids and I seriously don't have a dollar to my name. Is there anything that can be done about this? Please, any info would be greatly appreciated.

When you deposit money in the account and check your bank statement online. It does not warn you that the cash will take 24 hours to post (after hours) and you will still incur an overdraft fee even though the account showed positive. I deposited my money later than their cut off time. It has changed for the few years I've banked with them. Made a deposit late that evening to cover the charges. Checked my balance after I did this. It showed up, and I was positive. Both texts and logging in online. I wake up to check the balance the next morning, it showed positive still. I was not worried. After one more day, I incurred the overdraft charges. Truly unfair for hardworking people that work late. Why use banks anymore? To keep money safe, or to have it stolen unknowingly.

Instead of posting an overdraft charge, they should review the account right before they post it. It's not fair because I did my portion and paid them any overages. And then I get penalized for being 28 minutes left. This is how they make their money off of people who struggle to make ends meet. The lady was very proud to give me partial of that amount back. Yes, it was still unfair.

Another incident was when I went under .57 cents. Under a dollar. I was not aware I was under. I received a text saying my balance was at negative 15.57. It's like they knew I get paid the next day and wanted more of your paycheck just to themselves. Banks use that saved money to cycle it and make percentages off of it. They have been sued before for rearranging purchases so they can give fees. It's all fees here. If they can email me bank statements daily, why can't they email me notifications about my account. When it's overdrawn, and it's urgent. Right? I deposited cash. Not a check, or a credit. Cash doesn't need to go through another bank to post, yet with Chase, it takes 24 hours. My account was positive before I incurred the overdraft. I wish a fair bank would arise. Where they can see that you did your portion, and we'll do ours.

We wanted to refinance our home as our rate was in the 6% range and rates had dropped into the 4% range and were still dropping. My husband had a knee rebuilt and it failed and then a replacement and then a blood clot and then found out he had Parkinson's. So the need to refinance our house was even far greater of a need as Parkinson's is a progressive disease so lower our monthly output was just a necessity. Chase continued to give us the run around. We would submit packages which would never be found or would be incomplete or by the time they looked at it was outdated. This went on for months and months and into years. No joke. The hope of all the $$ the government had given Chase as bailout $$$ and special programs for people just like us was clearly no longer within our reach.

Finally we saw an attorney and she said they have zero intention of working with you move on. So what started out as a simple refinancing/need for a Health reasons turned out to be all for nothing. Being on hold for a culmination of hours waiting with hope for Chase to help us, rushing to the post office or UPS store to mail a package, praying this one is just darn good enough. None of it came to be worth anything. So our home is scheduled to be sold at 1:00 pm standard central time today at the county courthouse steps. We didn't go to watch as we have moved on and my husband will always have Parkinson's. He will die from it, but for now he still works a full day with the same company and all this time and $$$ wasted because Chase picks and chooses who they want to help when they can find the time. I am 50 years old and I have money in 4 banks. I cannot say I love any one of them but I have noticed that Chase goes out of their way to treat customers as worthless. Was not always like this but the last year I have been pushed to remove huge amounts of money and business away from Chase. The last bit I have left is only there because I have 43 items on auto pay using this checking account. Maybe my hell will warn others to stay away for a while. This bank will require you to provide two forms of original I.D. Every time you ask a questions or do something with your accounts. They then will require you to swipe your Chase card. This can take 4x. Then you have to put in your pin. Again sometimes takes a few times. Then they relook at your I.D. And then talk to you like you were invisible the whole time.

Remember I am only trying to deposit some American cash money that I just took from their own cash machine right in front of them. I guess Chase does not trust American money or their hardworking customers. I am with chase 28 years and have used this branch since it opened 4 years ago nearly every day. At other banks they actually treat me like I have been there before... but not here. Now the rules seem to have changed again. Now you have to get a new card with a chip on it and then to use it. Must put it in a nearly invisible slot in a machine near the teller. If you do this which may take a few tried then you have to still put in your pin. Then provide two IDs and wait to talk to the teller whose job now can be done with one robot. I ask “Why is all this necessary? I just want to make a deposit” and I'M told it is for my own safety.

I DID not know I was in any danger. I was born in America, fought for my country and pay my taxes but the bank seems to think I need protection from my own money. Ok just when I get used to all these steps the game changes again. Now they insist I use the auto machine instead of a teller when I have cash. Again I am told because it is safer for me. How dangerous are these banks anyway??? I use cash everyday all my life and never need such precautions. I refuse to use the machine stating that if I deposit let’s say 344 dollars in cash and it disappears in the machine and tells me I deposited 324 dollars then I have no one to yell at. In fact I will be unable to get help at all from the machine that does not yet talk. Why can't the bank teller take the deposit like in every other bank on planet earth? Are they too busy? Doing what??? Maybe checking the tons of IDs of American-born Americans using American cash dollars.

Remember I am paying monthly fees to have all this inconvenience. I actually carried my cellphone with camera on when I went in the last time and I use it at parties to make people laugh. I now realize it is not funny. I am blessed in that I have lots of money and do not need to just use Chase. One would think they would want to keep the more successful clients but that is not the case. I plan on closing my credit cards and mortgage and car loans when I can redo the auto pays on all my charges. I remember a year ago when I had 100k in a money market and 54k in a checking account and asked for a 1,000 overdraft protection on my checking account and was told I could not get one as I was a risk. How can I be a risk when they have 150 times that amount already from me in their bank? I have watched Chase stock fall for months and I hope they go through what Citibank DID before they restricted all their banks.

It is so painful to be treated so well by the foreign banks that are also available. They accept my American money so easily. In fact I can make deposits and leave all my IDs at home. I can actually use a teller and I can ask questions with them. I think the foreign banks may have a good idea here. The cherry on this story is the new bank who never met me before TD bank and where I have nearly nothing on deposit was glad to put a 1000 overdraft protection on my checking account the same day I asked. In reality I would never need it but maybe they actually want customers in their bank. Maybe their stock is the bank stock I should be buying.

And I decided to open an account with Chase because I didn't want to have all my money in one bank and be stuck in case there's a problem.

The first time that they closed my account, it was because I wrote a check and they didn't recognize it. By that time, there was a little amount on the account so I didn't complain. The second time is much worse because I have about 2000$ and they closed it with no reason. I called several times and they keep reiterating the same thing: they don't have the information and I'll have to wait for my check to be sent.

Second of all, when they first "announced" me (because they didn't inform me I had to call them) that they are closing my account, they said I would receive my money by the 27 of this month. Then today I called them for a confusing e-mail they sent me, they're telling I'll have to wait one more week. Can you understand in what trouble they're putting me? I have nearly nothing left because I had to pay bills and so on. I spoke to 3 people today and they're still saying the same thing. "There's no other option, you have to wait." When my car payment came due, I was short in my account. I figured that the charge would go through and I would just pay the $34 on top of the amount overdrawn. Nope! They declined the charge, but charged me the $34 anyway!!! I even went into the lobby to make sure it would go through. The lady in the lobby said it would go through, but I have to pay a $34 penalty. This "paying a penalty without them even honoring the charge" is for the birds! I recommend Bank of America - they will cover all charges and just charge fees. They also allow you to overdraw cash at the ATM as long as you agree to charges. Chase will not allow you to overdraw cash.

Initially they took it upon themselves to change my limit from $500.00 to $100.00. Then they took it upon themselves to close my account with no prior warning. I had to find out that my card wasn't working by not being able to pay for my lunch. I spent my whole lunch time on the phone with Chase’s renowned customer service team LOL, and trust me they are a joke worthy of the LOL. I was transferred to three different representatives over a 30 minute span, and neither of them could explain to me why my account was closed or who did so.

I explained to them that I need money to fill up gas in order to get home. I have $600.00 in my account and I had to have my brother drive to my work place to give me money so I could get home. This was after earlier on in the day speaking to one of their "adequate" representatives who told me the issue was taken care of and now I have full access to my card. A waste of time and a joke of a company. The owner should be embarrassed that he should have such useless employees.

My wife used our Chase credit card for a purchase from 18nutrition.com that had significant delivery fees. They sent the wrong item. When she tried to resolve the issue they told her to mail it back on our dime. They never replaced the item with the item ordered. I attempted to dispute the charge with Chase and was dealt obstacle after obstacle. First they sent me a letter designed for disputes of items that didn't functionally work. I filled it out, noting it was likely the wrong form and attempted to fax it in. I couldn't after repeated efforts. I finally mailed all the documentation to them. They claim they never received it and then closed the dispute. I called into their customer service asking for them to reopen the issue and was told I needed to send all the original information in again - I explained it was already sent. They told me I would need to write in to reopen the case.

I asked to speak with a Supervisor, who after a short wait got the merchant on the phone. The merchant claimed to never hear from us when we tried to resolve the matter through them. I refuted his lie and offered to email Chase the email chain with the merchant showing he heard from us and refused to work with us in resolving the matter. Chase took the merchants word over ours, though we had proof. We ended up paying about $150 for an item we never received. We no longer use the accounts or the merchant.

My purse was stolen on a Saturday night. I immediately called the bank THAT EVENING to let them know. On Monday, the thief was able to go to three (3) separate branches and withdrew $2,300 at each location using my driver's license. They sent an affidavit and advised me to go to a branch to have it completed, which I did on August 3, 2015.

I called two weeks later (August 17, 2015) to verify status and was told it wasn't received and that I would have to resubmit, which I did. I called on August 18, 2015, to verify that they received it and was told that it was received this time and that it was also received on August 3, 2015 but the packet was lost. On the evening of August 18, 2015, I found a check for $6,900 at my front door. A) The theft should never have happened. B) After the first withdrawal, the teller should have noticed suspicious activity. C) I would not have had to resubmit an affidavit twice if they knew what they were doing. In summary, horrible bank.

I had an experience at the Chase Bank (Santee Branch) worth sharing on ConsumerAffairs. The reason is stated in the last paragraph. I had a Chase business check transaction. The teller who is actually a manager asked me, "Do you know who our clients' authorized signers are on this account?" The question not only made me felt uneasy but I respectfully stated that question should be found on the Chase system. I was then brushed off to wait in the lobby. Another manager assumed assisting me because the branch was closing soon. I described what happen and how I felt uncomfortable with the question due to the privacy act. I wasn't the only customer in the branch.

Here is the reason I'm writing this review. After I told the manager about the privacy act (Privacy Act of 1974) and fidelity to their customers, the manager then tells me who the authorized signers were. This may or may not seem like an issue, however, Chase is on public record of breach of cyber security. I don't want my information shared with non-authorized persons. And this security issue overshadows the bad service due to closing.

A few times in the past couple months I had to go inside because the ATM line was very long (4+ people) and there was no line inside. Patty had given me such attitude because apparently she's too lazy to help someone deposit some cash or a check. She NEVER even greets me, says Thank You. It wasn't until the past few visits she really got on my nerves. I would politely go up to her window (she doesn't even call you over she just glares at you until you notice) then I explain what transaction I need completed. She POINTS to the pin pad, fills out my deposit slip, and prints out my receipt. Not one word the entire time. She then takes her sweet time and grabs a pen and circles the top of the receipt where it says "Deposit Cash or Checks at ATM." Really??

Obviously I know I can use the ATM but when there is more than 4 people in line outside and you have NO ONE in line I find it quicker and easier for everyone, including myself, to come in and make a deposit. Last time I checked customers were allowed inside, but apparently when Patty is working we aren't allowed to do anything besides use the ATM. SO RUDE!!! On February 6, 2015 I signed up for the Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card via an online promotion that offered 50,000 Rapid Rewards after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months the account is open. I was approved for the card, received it in the mail and proceeded to spend the required $2,000 in the first 3 months. The enrollment offer stated that I should wait 6 to 8 weeks for the points to appear in account, so after spending the $2,000 I waited an additional 8 weeks for the points to show up. Unfortunately, after patiently awaiting the points, they never showed up! I called Chase customer service and explained the issue at hand. The representative placed a petition to receive the points that was sent to their marketing department.

I called back after a week to hear the marketing department's decision and was informed that I would not be receiving the points because I had in fact signed up for the card via a different offer of 10,000 points and a $100 statement credit after spending $500. The representative also informed me that nothing could be done to grant me the remaining points because more than 90 days had passed since I opened my account. I am so frustrated by this experience with Chase and feel like they pulled a classic bait and switch on me. There is no way I would have signed up for the second offer of $100 and 10,000 points as it's really not even that great of an offer. I am positive what I signed up for and am disappointed that Chase will not honor that offer.

I am also frustrated by their 90-day policy that doesn't allow them to do anything to help me simply because I did not contact them within the first 90 days my account was open. I only waited to contact them because the offer specifically said to allow 6 to 8 weeks for the points to process. I've done a bit of research and have seen complaints from other customers about the exact same issue, which leads me to believe that this is not just a one time mistake, but a bait and switch scam. This has been a very negative experience with Chase and I am still seeking a solution to this problem.

Apparently bank was missing my mother (secondary owner) social security number in their file after 15 years. Which I don't understand how was she able to transact on my acct without those information. Anyway, short story Chase sent out a letter on 1/29/2015 to my old address that I had 7 years ago and asking for her SSN. Which I never received the letter and 6 months later Chase decided to send another letter which was a restriction letter to my current address they have on file. When I received this letter dated 6/29/2015 indicated that my acct has been restricted due to missing some information and asked to contact the Risk department for instructions.

So I called their Risk dept. Charles told me I need to go to one of their branches and fill out the W9 and another form so they can verify my mom's SSN with social security officials. I told their dept my mom is out of country and won't be back till 7/10 which was the date she went and proceed with their direction as I was told too. But apparently a night before 7/9/2015 Chase bank has already closed my acct. Just imagine how upset I was and could not access to my funds. I went to their branch in Addison TX and John relationship banker got on the phone with Risk dept and all she said that there is nothing they can do to reopen that acct.

Nothing they can do to open my acct nor they can't issue me a check right there. She assured me that my check will be overnight that day 7/10. Today is 7/14, after a long hold with several departments they told me check was mail to me via regular mail this morning which is the 11th day after the day they restricted my acct. I guess they don't follow the FDIC regulations and guidelines for making the funds available to the customers within 10 business days from the date they have restricted my acct. They have neglected to send the form to the current address on file, they have neglected to inform me that account will be fine till July 10th which is the date my mother went with her forms. Also neglected to send my money within 10 days over night. Not sure where to start the complaint process or sue the bank for negligent on their part on several issues.

This bank allowed three of their tellers to let three thieves steal $2100 from our checking account. Then lied about how long it would take to return our funds they gave away. They charged overdraft as well. Today they tried close our account because we made a large deposit trying to catch up on our debts caused by their withholding our funds they allowed to be stolen.

UPDATED ON 09/29/2015: Chase Bank allowed $7100 to be stolen out our account. Then have lied through the whole process. Never apologized. Lied about receiving claim from their own people. Flagged our account with negative remarks. Lied about how they do this to every new customer, we have been with them over 24+ years. Run from these liars!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET A CHASE ACCOUNT OR DO BUSINESS WITH CHASE. Don't believe everything you hear from Chase employees or the commercials they run.

CHASE QUICK PAY. Chase advertises that you can transfer money to another Chase bank account. If you do the money is available immediately to your account. Not only is this advertised but when you talk to their employees all there specialists and tellers will tell you the same. Recently I had a CHASE QUICK PAY transfer from my sister's account to my account. Money I needed to borrow for medical reasons. Needing a lung transplant I can't get around easily and my sister is very busy but helps me out when she can. I needed a way to receive money quickly and easily from my sister when I need help and after checking around I found out that Chase could do this for me, OR SO I THOUGHT!!!

The other day I had to borrow money from my sister, a transaction that we have done on several occasions over several months. Well this transaction was different. I had accepted the transfer from my sister but the money was never deposited into my account. I called Chase to find out why the teller then transferred me to their online support team. The employee for chase stated that they put a hold on the transfer (mind you this was a transaction from one chase account to another chase account that had been done more than a dozen times over the past 6 months, same accounts same account numbers not a thing had changed with either account. But this time chase put a hold on the money being transferred) to find out if the account was mine. When she was satisfied that the account was mine she released the money transfer.

After hanging up I went online to check on the deposit but the money was not there. When my sister's account was checked (after my call to the bank) the money was withdrawn from her account after my call. Checking my account again the money was still not there so I called back and their supervisor informed me that it could take up to 4 hours to be deposited. After 5 hours then 6 then 7 the money still was not deposited. I called back and spoke to a supervisors who then decided to tell me that it would take 24 hours to be deposited into my account (IT DIDN'T TAKE 24 HOURS TO BE WITHDRAWN SO WHY 24 HOURS TO DEPOSIT IT?) 24 hours later the money was still not deposited into my account. Again I called and was told that it wouldn't be available until Monday.

Monday 8 am I checked my Chase account and not to my surprise the money still was not deposited into my account so I called Chase and their senior supervisor said it was in process and because of the weekend they don't process transactions!! (Really? They processed the withdraw of the money from my sister's account, they processed the information that the account was my account, but they couldn't process the deposit of the money into my account?) This is a process that CHASE (advertises and their employees state a chase account holder making a chase quick pay to another chase account is available immediately). DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE OR READ FROM CHASE.
