We applied for an equity loan 3 months ago. We own two houses with no mortgages and wanted to borrow 25k. We were told we needed to borrow more since the new laws require that the closing costs cannot exceed a certain percentage of the loan amount. We have been given the run around. They keep requesting the same information over and over and appear to be looking for ways to deny the loan. They do not return calls, even calls to the executive offices go unanswered. I am out the cost of the appraisal. I should have checked out this site before applying with them. I am cancelling the loan request and have filed a complaint with the federal reserve.

Just returned from Branch 783. The parking lot was jammed because they had ONE live teller handling customers. The windows were closed and a rep was directing people to the three machines on the floor to take care of your banking needs. Needless to say, people were agitated and upset. If Chase intends to treat customers in this manner, then WE the customers should find another bank, with LIVE interaction.

I have been with Chase bank for 10 years with a home mortgage and a car loan. I went into the bank on Monday and wanted to open a new account with the proceeds of a home sale. There were no other customers in the bank yet I was told that I could not even talk to anyone without an appointment. I could not open a new account and could not deposit my check. I think it's outrageous and very poor customer service to tell an existing customer that I cannot put my money into your bank without an appointment. The branch is at The Shops at Norterra, 2430 W Happy Valley Rd. Phoenix, AZ (623) 582-1633.

After 14 years as a Chase Bank formerly known as WAMU customer, I received a notice saying they were closing our main checking account. The letter didn't state why and they wouldn't tell me when I called. All they stated is we failed their account review. Always kept $1500 in checking and a small amount in savings. We had overdraft fees here and there but nothing major. It was a total shock. I have been reading about the sudden closure of Chase accounts all over the internet. Never giving a reason. So we will open up a new account at another bank and it least close it before they do. It will be nice to take my money somewhere it's appreciated.

45 minutes in to my wait at Chase Bank and I'm still sitting in the lobby! I am the ONLY customer in the bank and there are two girls standing there doing nothing. They are gossiping and providing no purpose to the bank. The "manager" is another worthless addition to this Bank. I'm not sure how this Chase in San Tan Valley is not shut down! Get a clue here with the "customer service" or lack of! I really hope Kyle is not the manager, because he's a joke.

I'm in an account with my mother and I had a situation where in the internet some told me if I wanted to make 6-12 thousand and I want money so I did it and gave my info for the bank since they told me they work there and I got fraud and they took out $3360.00 and my account was negative that amount and the bank don't want to look at it as Fraud and are saying I took the money for my personal gain and I told them I didn't and that I made police reports and to fix my account. They took my mothers money and transfer to my account saying she's as responsible as I am. Hello I'm a victim of fraud and now they're saying my mom is not getting her money back.

On a Wednesday July 1st my direct deposit did not hit so I called chase customers service to see what's going on and they said the check went to the previous old account instead of the new one and that it would have to wait till Friday to get my money. I was transferred to the ACH department who said sorry, and told me the same thing so I called the local chase bank to see if they could do anything and they said you've done your due diligence and that they were very very sorry that they dropped the ball but that I would still have to wait till Friday. Well Friday came and no money so I Called customer service again and they said sorry we sent it back to your businesses payroll.
I called payroll which is in another city and they said they haven't got it yet and that they would be closed for Independence Day and that it was poor customer service because they didn't need to send the ACH money back they could have just transferred it to correct account. Well I talked to ACH again and they said sorry our fault but nothing they can do so I called the local chase bank and they said "sorry, if you would have called Thursday instead of Wednesday we could have gotten you the money." Well now I have no money, no food, can't pay my bills and overdraft fees are occurring because my bills are set to come automatically out my account. I don't know when I'll have my check because now it's a process between my job. I'm beyond upset at the Lies that were told to me and the nonchalantness of it all from the chase employees from the call center to ACH services to the local banks.

I went to a drive-through ATM yesterday afternoon to deposit 3 checks (including my payday check). The ATM took my checks, but on the receipt, the deposit was not shown. Frantically I went into the bank to tell them my problem. They told me to call the number on the back of my ATM card. At first I talked to a customer service agent. She put me in contact with a "specialist". The "specialist" said I would have to file a claim and then they could credit the amount into my account. She said it would take 12 hours. Well, 12 hours later and the money was not in my account.
Once again I called and talked to a customer service agent. She informed that the money would be in my account within 2 hours. 3 hours later and it's not there. I make another phone call. I first talked to a customer service agent who then transferred me to a "specialist". This time I was told the money would be there by the end of today. Everyone I talked to was very nice and understanding. It just seems that the bank's policy could get your money into your account a lot sooner. I have many bills due today and I don't have the money...yet! Very frustrating! What I have learned from this experience is that I will never make another deposit at an ATM. I will always go and see a teller.

I called in about an overdraft fee. I should not have been charged and I was told it wasn't a chase mistake so they couldn't do anything about it. I have always put money back into my account right away after having an overdraft or any fee taken out especially if I know my checking account is low. They tell you "no you have to know these transactions pend late", but how are the consumers suppose to know the order this bank processes. Everything is late and they always tell you they cannot handle it. I'm just totally over this bank and will cancel my account ASAP!

Chase Bank is ran by heartless representatives. My grandson is stuck on a train for two more days without food because they have decided his check card is fraud. His card is a student account under my name and he has plenty of money to buy food on that account, money I transferred from my account . He has been able to text me but can't call out from train for some reason. After two hours on phone last night with Chase and today, I have resorted to calling friends to catch him at next stop and give him food. They insist he call in which of course he can't. His train trip is three days long.

I had been with Chase for almost 10 years, and they closed my account without notice. I spent an hour on the phone, only to speak with 6 different customer service representatives who could not help me at all. The last rep I spoke to, said he was a manager and advised me to go to my local branch to resolve the issue. Another hour spent at the local branch, with a rep who did not help either. Their staff isn't trained to provide customer service, at all. Turns out the last rep I spoke to over the phone, wasn't even a manager. What's ironic about that, is that he claimed to have been from the FRAUD department. They offered to open another account for me, but I took all my money and went to Union Bank. Chase does not meet any professional standards. This has affected my entire life! I don't recommend anyone to bank with them.

It's only about $5.00 dollars. Not much but I signed up for the Chase Checking Paperless Statements in response to the promotion. A reward of $5.00 paperless bonus on 12/24/2014. A coupon receipt with a tracking number was issued. It promised the bonus will be deposited into my Chase checking account within six weeks of signing up. Today is 6/25/2015 and I am still waiting. I spent 25 minutes on the phone with the customer service specialist this morning and gave her the tracking number. The specialist told me she has to send this issue to the research department even she admitted I had signed up and there was no record of the $5.00 deposited to my account. Now I have to wait 3 to 5 business days to hear from the research department if Chase keeps its promise.

I own and operate a small business - bookkeeping and payroll service for various clients, most are corporations, but a few are sole proprietors. One particular client has had his company account at Chase since it was Washington Mutual Savings. I am mortified with their lack of customer service and their gouging charges for non sufficient funds charges on "held" withdrawals! I process EFTPS payroll tax deposits through QuickBooks, get my confirmations of acceptance by the IRS and then lo and behold, Chase Bank does not honor the payments and rejects them charging $34.00 for EACH transaction. Supposedly, they are saying they will NOT allow kiting... well that is fine, however, they process the ATM charges and then 2 days later come back and say, "oh no - you don't have enough money in the bank to cover those charges." So, you get hit with a double whammy.
Multiple times, I have contacted the bank's fraud department, spending hours on charges that were "hacked" against a debit card, and to this day, my client has not received a response nor refunds for the "hacked" charges and the multiple bank service charges of $34.00 each - now amounting to over $1100.00 in bank charges alone! I believe it is time for the FDIC to look into Chase Bank practices immediately to stop this activity. Many ESL (English Second Language) customers trusted Chase Bank to manage their accounts. Some of these ESL clients have valid social security numbers, as well as Federal Employment Identification Numbers. I have recently learned that an individual with a FEIN and a company account at Chase was denied a personal account because they are not a citizen of the United States! Balderdash!

This is a complete outrage, I shouldn't be receiving a bill so long after especially when I was getting paid near minimum wage. This company needs to be removed off planet earth. I attempted to deposit $100.00 into my son's account who lives in another city. I was told by the teller that she could not accept cash, I had to purchase a money order or write a check. How does a bank get to that level of arrogance that it can override all existing laws? There is a statement on our money that states, "THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE" EXCEPT at Chase Bank. By the end of the week all of my accounts at Chase will be closed. I explained to the bank teller I needed a title notarized for a car I was buying when I arrived at the Westerville Ohio Chase Bank. I was asked to take a seat and someone would be right over to get us. After 43 minutes we finally got asked back by the notary. She refused to help us since both the buyer and seller didn't have Chase accounts. I was the one buying the car and I have a Chase account. I then asked if we could open an account for the people selling me the car she said no. I would take too long and we'd need to make an appointment. I would definitely not recommended the Chase Bank in Westerville Ohio to anyone. The customer service is seriously lacking.

I check my bank account every night before I go to bed to make sure nothing is going to put me in the negative. If I go to bed with 10 dollars balance by morning on my payday, I'll be hit with two insufficient fees and it deducts it from my direct deposit from work. The customer service reps say it's due to the actual time that my direct deposit posts and the time the other automatic transactions post. They have hit me with hundreds of dollars in over draft and extended over draft fees it's not even funny. Sometimes they go back to hit you for transactions that when I checked, I had enough money for. Then I have a monthly check for 250 that gets deposited. I failed to notice that the check was written out for two hundred but box said $250. Chase deducted the $50 dollars from my account because they only honor what was written out. Never mind that I've been getting $250 every month for 5 years straight.
I hate this bank! They have ripped me off far too many times. It's such an inconvenience to have to change banks but, I have no choice! Please bank with someone else who isn't going to rip you off. I can't believe I've been charged so much money for a bank to hold my hard earned money.

My wallet had been stolen a little over a week ago. I had called the helpline to send me a new card on Friday 6/12, they told me I would get it by the following Friday at the very latest, and that I would get a tracking number via email within 48 hours. Never did. I then called on the expected delivery date on Friday 6/19. I was extremely concerned since I was traveling for business on Monday 6/22 and would need my cc for my incidentals. The representative told me that no one has sent it out and that she would send it on Saturday delivery that way I would get it before my flight on Monday, and that I would receive the tracking number shortly. Again, no tracking number.
On Sunday I then got worried that no track number was sent. Called yet again, and she convinced me that it will be there by tomorrow morning (Monday) that she can see the delivery status. Monday morning still nothing and I was running from UPS store to another to find my card and it's nowhere. I then call the helpline AGAIN and they tell me "it was never sent out." The manager then got on the phone and told me there's nothing he can do to fix the mistakes and I'll have to wait ANOTHER week for my card. Barely said anything to me, and barely even tried to fix the situation. Manager **, you did absolutely nothing. The response he had told me was to try and reschedule my business trip. I'm attending a conference. You let me know how to ask the conference to reschedule, LIKE COME ON. I've been with Chase for a long time, and am SO disgusted by the phone customer service stupidity.
I don't think it's that hard to send out a replacement card. Mess up once, okay, but 3 times AND LIE about seeing delivery status! And obviously when you call a number like this you don't get the same person. Which means this whole helpline is swarming with idiots. I plan to close my 2 Chase credit cards and switch my debit card to another bank ASAP. I love my Long Island bank store location, but the customer service experience I had this week was more than enough to make me leave and dislike the company. Teach your staff how to read the computers, and how to recover a bad guest situation.

I went into the Fruitville/Honore branch with my 2 & 4 yr. old to make a $50 cash deposit into each of their minor savings accounts. I presented my completed deposit slips and cash to the extremely rude teller and she asked for my ID. My ID was in my car with my purse because I was carrying my 2 yr old & I was just running in. She told me unless someone knew me, I couldn't make the deposit! And she was nasty!! So I called my mom to come watch my kids so I could go back and close my accounts. When I told the banker I was here to close my accounts he said "Ok, I need your ID." The next thing he said to me 5 minutes later was "Do you want cash or check?"
I wanted to verify one of the balances he gave me so I tried looking it up on my phone, but there's no cell service in their office. He knew what I was trying to do & just sat there. Finally I had to ask him to look at his screen & tell me the transactions, as if it were asking too much for him to do his job! There was no more conversation & I left with my money. On top of the worst bank staff in town, I never would've encountered this situation if I could just have access to these accounts with an ATM card!! Chase will not issue an ATM card for minor savings accts (according to this branch) AND they wouldn't even link the accts to my debit card when I had a checking acct with them. So I was forced to do all of my banking for these minor accts with a teller in a branch. This is SO inconvenient!
I just left Wells Fargo... They said I can deposit cash into the accts without an ID whenever I want. And even better. They offer ATM cards for the acct and I actually just had them link the accts to my existing debit card, so I can do all of the banking through the ATM! Yay!!

We opened a new account with Chase on June 6, and deposit a check with large amount $. it is check from our Citibank account. We quite understand it will take time to have the funds available for a new account. So, we were very patient and wait ... 9 days later on June 15, we were told by the Chase branch that our Citibank account did not have sufficient funds. It was a surprise to me because I knew that our Citibank account has more than enough balance to cover that deposit check to Chase! So, I contact our Citibank immediately, and I was told our check was paid to Chase and cleared on June 8. The funds has been debited that day.
Then, I called the Chase Bank for that check. The Chase Bank tole me that they never received any funds from Citibank. I was scared: where is our money?! And Chase insisted they didn't have the funds as I keep contacting them for the funds. My wife and I just couldn't go to sleep whole night that day! Our money has been disappeared! The following day On June 15, Chase had a conference call with Citibank to verified that check did has been cleared on June 8, and the funds has been paid to Chase. Then Chase agreed to release the funds to our new account. It seems that Chase didn't know when they got money in their pocket?
Questions to Chase: #1 Why Chase told me "a big lie" on June 8 saying that our Citibank bank account did not have sufficient funds? #2 Why Chase denied that they did not receive the funds when they actually got funds from Citibank for the whole week, and scared me that deposit of our money disappeared? My question to the Chase: How we can trust them in the future for the checks deposited to Chase? They can just easily deny that they never receive any funds they got! it sounds like a robbery under the broad light! How come Chase bank can stand above our great government and laws! I am just wondering if we customers get protected? I asked Chase for an explanation for it, and they still has not give me answers directly to my questions. What a message Chase bank has sent to customers: "Be very careful when deposit your hard-earned money to Chase Bank"!

Review: I have had a Chase Credit card for over 10 years. About 2 years ago my credit limit was decreased arbitrarily by $2700. I believed this is when they first took over from another bank. I understand they were looking out for their best interest. I have paid my account every month and in most cases over the minimum payment. I have reviewed my payment activity from 7/13/2014 to current and my mortgage payment from 2/10/2014 to present. I have never been late on any payments.
Today 6/18/2015 I receive a letter from them decreasing my credit account limit by another $1000. Reasons given were canned responses such as "number of accounts in use" and "rapid increase in revolving balance". What bothers me the most is they never contacted me to discuss any issues. Apparently they do not even care what life issues may have happened to you. Even if I had and increase in revolving balances, there must be a reason. I have made extra payments to what I feel shows my intent to reduce my balance and seriously take my financial debt seriously.
Apparently they don't care or choose not to acknowledge this. They make their money on the interest that they charge, so if my payment activity demonstrates my credit worthiness and intent, why do they do this. Fortunately they do not have a bank in my state but based on their current actions I would not bank with them anyway and would recommend that no-one else should.
Perhaps a decrease in their customer accounts and profits from this may send a message to them. After all the profits they make are based on their customer base. How would they like them apples!!! Once the senior executives see the end results, only then will they investigate the reasons why they have lost revenues!!! Be afraid. Be very afraid of Chase Bank!!!

MY FINAL EXPERIENCE. I opened an account last year, just for the cash incentive. Forgot to close it until now. While closing any account can prove infuriating, Chase has crafted a real doozy. For the entirety of my year-long membership, Chase spammed me electronic and physical mail on a weekly basis. You'd think they'd notice that I never had a transaction on my card, but who knows?
This evening really decided things: I opened my inbox to *another* email from Chase. Great, some sort of cash-back-on-purchases offer. There's not a lot of information, just the same empty words repeated. And it's only applicable at gas stations and Kohl's? You're in the wrong marketing niche, buddy. So I click the "Activate your 5% cash back to learn more" link. Maybe I can unsubscribe from emails there, right? NOPE. SO GLAD YOU'RE A PART OF OUR PROGRAM! WE CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED WITH THE MONEYZ AND ABSTRACT LIFE QUOTE PICTURES!
The frigging system punches my self-esteem in the gut. Deep breaths, I calm down. This has to be reversible, or they'd lose clients. So I call up my buddy Google, who's an expert on everything. Google and I talk for around 15 minutes, looking at the Chase website, Quora and a smattering of forums, with no indication of whether I can cancel this monstrosity.
Now, dear reader, remember this: I haven't even logged into my account. For a whole year. Who knows if my account is even active? All I want is to get out of the pit that Chase tripped me into and maybe avoid severance fees. So I wade through customer service hotlines. Normally I get decent reception, but the static between my phone and Chase call centers made the conversation more difficult than swimming a 50-meter through packing peanuts. Not impossible, just itchy and suffocating.
I've lived the call center and have an idea of what it's like. My first customer service rep ** was definitely a five star, while the second was definitely a non-comm. Perhaps I sounded too happy on the final confirmation question ("YES, yes I would like to cancel my account!") but it's hard to contain your joy at telling a beast like that. Didn't catch what she said afterward, 'cause I didn't care and the static had grown to match the frequency of my neighbor's kick drum. Talking to the Chase humans wasn't terrible: It was the call structure I hated. In one sentence: There are good people at Chase, just not enough good decisions.
COMPLAINT TO EMAIL DESIGN TEAM LEADS. Why would your tiny "follow this link to activate" actually activate cash back benefits?! I don't care that they're free; I just wanted to learn about the offer, not be force-fed identical information three times in one message. Also, why would you include that link in 6pt font?! I'm trying to be responsible with my life, not sign up for offers I can't understand. Don't shove that crap on my plate, and ciao to the good people.

Well that lasted until I turned 19 then I got a letter in the mail saying they were moving me to an adult account. I couldn't see how that would change things but it did. From about that point on I would receive $10 account fees that I didn't know of until I looked into my online statement and found almost $40 dollars missing. I was shocked and right away called. Able to get it back but it kept happening each month around the 10th to the 20th give or take. I would get a fee for my accounts not showing they were linked and that I had the money to cover the fee. Now I had almost 12,000 dollar in my saving account and another 500 or so in my checking.
With Chase's fee policy they say if you have your accounts linked and have a balance of more than 1000 then you get no fee but my account would unlink each month and that is where the fee came from. I know now that I put up with it for way too long as only left Chase in February 2015 after having more trouble with it and fighting them about it. I called one of their offices and talked to a very mean and belligerent man who said that my account could not be linked and that I was only a 19 so there was no way I had enough money to do so. After telling him to look a few time he did and then hung up with me without another word. Later that day I got my fee back taking all my money out with it and going to another bank.

After four years Chase Bank suddenly closed my account freezing my money and not telling me why. Went into the branch talked with the Branch Manager and someone at Chase main office. They refuse to tell me why. The representative on the phone kept repeating the same line: "Sorry however the law doesn't require us to tell you so we won't." The branch office tells me this is the standard line and is all they ever know and these closures are happening at an increased rate.
Just because there is not a law requiring them to state why they closed the account doesn't alleviate Chase of their moral responsibilities to the customer. I was a customer who had been a good client with a good account for over four years. Chase themselves told me this as they waived four NSF fees for me (three weeks ago told me that they could do this since I had not had a NSF in over a year and I was such a good customer.) Why would they have done this if I was such a bad customer? If I go to a restaurant and they refuse service the restaurant would tell me why - i.e. dress attire, etc. Why should not a business that is more important to the customer than a restaurant, not offer same courtesy to their customers?
Being disabled in a wheelchair is hard enough without being discriminated against because my only income is from SSA which is the reason I believe they closed my account. Further based on my history in the banking industry also I believed that my account did not meet the revenue requirements threshold and that was also a factor in closing my account. If I had $100,000 in my account do you think they would have closed my account?

Why do corporations feel the need to offend and alienate the larger masses who disagree with what's considered by many a lifestyle choice? Chase's majority clientele are heterosexual. Where's our month? Considering leaving Chase & closing 5 accounts. Had considered moving 3 more accounts from US Bank to Chase. Not now. This isn't hate speech. This is a disagreement that a company feels they need to publicly endorse a group in its advertisement.

I had an opportunity to payoff all my credit cards. I had residual interest payment on Chase for $13.89. I called all my other credit card companies both opened and closed (there were a few) and every credit card company except Chase waived these residual charges! They would not budge, transferred me to a "floor supervisor" who told me he had the authority to waive it but he elected not to! Who says that? I paid on this closed account on for years. I wonder if it had been an open account and active account if they would have waived this as a courtesy. It's just the principle of the matter.

As he looks me up in his system he says he cannot help me with a notary because I am no longer a current customer! What??? Really? My mortgage was with Chase for years until THEY sold it not even a year ago.
Not my fault! I have paid Chase about $60,000 in mortgage interest over the years that they held my mortgage! And ** looked at me and said, "sorry, you need to be a customer to conduct any business with us." What? All I needed was a quick notary! Today, June 8, 2015 I got a cashier's check for the June 3, 2015 home equity loan I had paid that they reversed. We expected the home equity loan to be auto debited as has been since 2006 with no late payments. In addition, Chase in 2006 gave me a special interest rate of 7.15 with the auto debit feature. The disclosure I signed in 2006 said the rate without it would be 7.31!! So in the promissory note they say that the .025 now would be an added rate to the 7.15 which puts it at 7.40!!! Keep in mind, they intimidated my husband ** who has done banking with Chase at least 10 years. He was a private client and had JPMorgan Securities account managed which is another issue!!! Before they even closed ** accounts he paid off his Toyota truck loan of approx $800 which they took out of his account and then they reversed it!!!! My wife and I have been with Chase Bank since 2008. We have been pretty pleased with the service we have been given at our local branch. Our issue is with the NSF scheme that Chase has set up for lower balance customers. This is our 2nd or 3rd time that Chase Bank has shown all of our purchases being taken from our account balance "Online," over the weekend, and then turning around, the following Tuesday morning showing we were overdrawn.
On 5/25/2015 my account balance was $319-$318 and some change. I wanted to spend $120.00 and put gas in my vehicle "$20.00," so I sat at my PC and pulled up chase.com to make sure "EVERYTHING" we had spent up to that point was showing up on our account, and every purchase, ATM withdraw was correct on the website. But I failed to double check the available balance vs the list of money spent. So I left my home, used a non-chase ATM ($3.75 extra + $2.00 chase non-atm fee). Went to get gas ($20.02). So $318.00-$146.00=$172.00<---Left! Correct? WRONG!!!! Some way or another money that was showing it had been taken for purchases previously, had mysteriously, all the sudden not been taken. Charges from 5/19 and 5/23 were now showing up on 5/26/2015 as if they were never on my account nor reflecting my balance previously.
This is not the first time this has happened! As I explained earlier, this is the 2nd or 3rd time! I also noticed when our account is under $50, dumb things start staying pending for a ridiculous amount of time, like $10 @ burger king or $8 at the Ecig shop and other small items that "Normally" post everyday and rarely pend for more than a day when we have money in our account. As if Chase is holding back, hoping we make a mistake with our account so they can hit us with 400 NSF's for the nickel and dime purchases.
I think it is time to move on and find another bank to do business with. One that makes money off of honest neglect, or interest off of loans and the stock market. But not charging honest customers with bogus manipulation of charges pending on lower income peoples checking account. But I am sure every bank does the same crap. We have cars that can drive themselves, yet Chase cannot make a website that reflects your "TRUE BALANCE" at all times? I am not buying that!
I feel scammed and humiliated having to beg to have the NSF fee's removed, which they did remove the NSF (1). I had to go into my personal spending habits with the rep on the phone, and my wife and I had to take out a payday loan to survive until we get paid. Forced to give personal details! And forced into a open loop of fees from a payday scam, and still got a NSF!
The payday loan posted at 1:35AM CST and there were no NSF's showing so I thought GREAT! The money posted "before" NSF's hit my account so all should be GREAT! Right? WRONG! At 3:20AM CST I logged on once again and I had the $2.00 non-chase atm fee on my account and a NSF fee for my $7.99 netflix payment. So how can I be charged a NSF 2 hours after $300.00 was deposited into my account? Only god and chase know!
This is a warning to others without overdraft protection! With Chase always calculate EVERYTHING spent from your check being deposited until the day you're wanting to spend a buck. Even then know that Chase may still switch up some pending charges to wipe out your account and let the flood of NSF's come a flowing in. Chase will ONLY refund up to 3 NSF's once a year! Gee, I wonder why? That is after you kneel before them and dump your personal business on the phone and belittle yourself enough to grasp sympathetic, sympathy from the chase rep on the phone. I am pissed! I hate being scammed especially by people that are supposed to have my best interest at hand.

I believe in customer loyalty and good customer service. Apparently JPMorgan Chase & Co. does not. I have been with Chase Bank since the 1970's-way back when it was called Valley National Bank of Arizona. Over the last 30 plus years I have stayed loyal while the bank continued to sell me off to one bigger bank after another.
Since Chase took over, I have had some annoyances with them but continued to stay loyal. But then things really began to change. And I was told it is all in the name of customer "safety". For example-not being able to deposit cash into my account without using identification. Identification for cash?! Into my own account!? Why is cash fraud any higher than check fraud? Not only that, but now my daughter cannot make deposits for me because she is not "me". She cannot deposit my money into my account. Ludicrous!
And now the drive thru's are closed down. Once again I was told this was because of fraud. Why would the drive thru have more fraud than going inside the bank? Recently I went to make a deposit at one branch and a very large poster was standing in front of the door entry that read "...enhancing your banking experience..." Well believe me, my experience was not enhanced when I went inside. The teller windows that were usually in the front as you walked in, were now in the back, down a short dimly lit hallway with two teller windows but only one teller working and a line of people. I felt like the criminal, like I was going to commit fraud!!
Everyone who was standing in line or came in line was complaining about what we were being put thru. I have to admit, I felt sorry for the teller (another one finally came in to help) because all they could do was listen to everyone as they don't make the policies. As usual, the big guys at the top who have no idea what it is like, make the decisions for the little people at the bottom who really do the work. And we as customers bear the brunt of it.
JPMorgan Chase & Company is a hypocrite. When they purport to wanting to protect the customer from fraud, all the while they themselves (along with 4 other companies) are paying out billions of dollars in fines for manipulating the market. I realized that times are changing, technology is changing, but is this really where we are heading? No loyalty? No customer relations? No honesty? Sadly after 30 plus years of loyalty, it is time to change banks.

I was told word for word that Chase has made a decision that they no longer want to bank with me and my account is terminated. I was not given a reason even though I kept asking why. All they said was they could not disclose that information to me.
I said, "What happens to my money?" They said I will receive a check for the money in my account, in TEN DAYS!! My money and account is frozen for almost two weeks!!! I have no access to my money that, may I add, is mine and I earned! I told them, "I don't carry enough cash on me to get me through 2 weeks." He then went ahead and asked me "Is she a US citizen?" as if he couldn't ask her. He didn't even acknowledge her. I responded "no, she is a resident". "Does she have a GREEN CARD" he asked. I looked at him and said "Yes she does", "well she needs to provide that the next time she comes in" he replied... I know for a fact that it is illegal to ask for that documentation!! I am human - I missed a payment for the first time in 5 years. I called and they gave me a phone number that is not mine. I have no association with that number. The next phone number they gave me was from my house in Ohio 5 years ago. They have no record of my number on file. And I received no information for a late payment and was not aware. I have never made a late payment on this account and I had no idea I was late. And now they are telling me a phone number that has no association with me. But I am stuck with this against my credit rating which is ridiculous - unaware that I was even late. I get mistakes happen but I have had no warning. For a simple mistake.

I called them to work with them in getting them to lower my interest rate so that I can see a dent on my $200.00 a month trying to pay them off and they said they cannot change interest rate even if my credit is good. I have good credit and I am a responsible consumer. Never late on my payments. I should note that my payment is 80.00 per month but I am paying 200 to get rid of this card. My daughter went to the drive thru to deposit cash into my checking account, no money back, just depositing cash into account. Was told that I have to be present for transaction to be considered. My daughter told them that I was in the hospital and couldn't come to the bank. Was told sorry can't except her money for deposit without her being there. What kind of bank does that, since I was trying to put money in for bills to be paid. I have been with this bank for over 12 yrs, and have direct deposit, my mortgage. All these other reviews are spot on. Chase QuickPay has MAJOR flaws that affect you, the customer. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of using this "service." My friend tried to send me $250 (her end of a deposit on a vacation we're taking). After I got the notice to accept it, I clicked "accept" and moved on. So I thought. The next day, I got another email that said the transaction had been CANCELED. I called her to joke about it, but she said she didn't cancel anything.
Here is the scary part - When I tried to log onto my Chase account online, a message popped up that said I had been SUSPENDED… FROM MY OWN ACCOUNT and needed to call a number they provided to clear it up. I called, spent 2 hours on hold and being passed around between customer service and the fraud department… to absolutely NO AVAIL. They said they can't un-freeze my account until my friend calls in and answers questions. She did, but they told her they couldn't do anything until she goes into a branch with two forms of I.D. and clears it up there. Only then would her and my account be unfrozen.
What?? Put a hold on the $250, that would make sense. Suspend her account if you're nervous, that would make sense. But, that my account can be frozen by someone trying to pay me money and that the only way for it to become unfrozen is for that other person to go into a bank??? What if she can't get to the bank for a week?! What if she was in a remote part of India for a month doing humanitarian work? I'd be locked out for a month? Do you catch what I'm saying? And they promised me there was no other way around it!! Wow.
Friends, trust me. Save yourself from this ridiculous waste of time. "QuickPay??" Are you serious?? I challenge ANYONE from Chase to call me and explain the LOGIC of this protocol. Don't call to tell me THAT IT IS your protocol, explain it to me. You can't. Because it simply doesn't make sense.

Due to this they suspended access to our online access so we can't see the activity on our account. Then they say there is odd activity. Really stupid, they create the problem then it's you must change your user id and password when there never was a problem. Plus they do this while we're on vacation and can't access 800 numbers which are the only numbers they offer. It's to the point we prefer to just cancel the cards. Really they make it difficult and it's always the same BS excuse, "we're doing this for YOUR safety", and "we really want you to be safe." JP Morgan Chase took action by "freezing" my bank account overnight. I am living on a disability pension and with them freezing my account I could not take out any money out of my account. I know and Chase knows I did nothing wrong and that Chase did this because I complained. I am a disabled Veteran who served USA my Country with Honor and in the process of serving USA my country I became disabled.
The way JP Morgan Chase Bank treated me I feel like Chase is controlled by a bunch of Mean Communist. The next time USA gets into a War or Conflict we should send those people at Chase to fight in the front line. The only way I got Chase to "unfreeze" "Unlock" my account is I filed a Complaint with the US Banking Commission in Washington D.C. JP Morgan Chase for a time in my life you caused me hardship in my life. Now I hope I see JP Morgan Chase Bank out of business for their illegal business practices.

Chase needs to stop lying to people when it says money will be pulled from your Savings "generally" in $50 increments when in reality it will pull whatever it needs out of your checking account in small increments. Even the customer service person I talked to at the main number for Chase couldn't tell me why. I know why - it's so we won't notice and get charges extra fees.

I've only had this account for about 4 months now - so far so good UNTIL over the weekend, a $2.78 transfer from my savings account shows up says ODP/CR MEMO. When I called to inquire, the girl on the phone informed me that "We pulled $2.78 to cover your checking account so you will be charged a $10.00 FEE". She talked over me the entire time and flat out ignored me when I said "Let me talk!" I guess so any manager would not hear her respond to that & she can keep up the pretense of being good at customer service. She was TERRIBLE. Even when I said, "You are being rude." She kept right on ignoring my remarks and talked over me the entire time. Girl without a brain, when someone tells you "Let me talk" you are supposed to shut up, not keep talking over them. You are incredibly rude.
They transferred $2.78 when I would have done that myself because I check the bank account every day online hoping I wouldn't notice so I could get slapped with a $10.00 fee for $2.78. This when I was under the impression that it would be $50 increments. Even if it was "generally" as it is laid out in my disclosure, who would think they would bother with $2.00 increments, do I hear $1.00? That is deceptive advertising. And therefore get charged the $10.00 fee for $2.78. Ridiculous. A $2.78 transfer when I look at my account everyday and would have done this myself is sneaky and under the arm. Hoping you won't notice so the big bank can charge a person living practically paycheck to paycheck a $10 dollar fee. Wow. Too bad you can't.

We wanted to move a large sum of money from a savings account (not Chase) to our Chase checking account to then move it to our stock account. After depositing the check Chase put a 10 day hold on the check because they wanted to make sure the other bank clears the check. I fully understand that they don't want to take the risk of a bounced check for that amount, but after the amount was already debited from the savings account the hold was still in place on Chase's end. I had to call several times to release the money which finally succeeded after Chase contacted the other bank and received confirmation from them.
Then the next day I set up a wire transfer to wire the money out to the stock account and about 15 minutes later I received a phone call from Chase that they were going to put a hold on the transfer for another 10 days. After being forwarded between different departments and wasting another hour or so on the phone they wouldn't budge, because of some weird policy stating that the amount has to remain in the account for at least 10 days. So the amount shows up on our available balance but I can't decide to do whatever the hell I want to with our own money? Apparently not as Chase insists on hijacking our money. So basically I have to pay $25 for a wire transfer while Chase is accumulating interest on our money for an additional 10 days. This is just wrong and I wonder if it's even legal.

I have had Chase Banking for 4 years now and started off with great service and free checking. $150 back for setting up an account which was great. Warm and friendly service. No problems what so ever until this year (2015).
In January of 2015, I received an email verifying that I changed my password. I did not and found out that someone went into my account and changed my address, email and phone number. Also created another debit card and it was sent to their home. From there I made sure that my bank personal information was changed back. It was supposedly inactivated since I called right away but the culprits still withdrew $500 and $350 from 2 local, like around the corner local, ATM's! When I called and advised they said they would submit our fraud department to investigate. I also had a new checking account set up. The girl I worked with at the Bank was terrific and really, that's one of the reasons I kept banking there. She was hands on.
When I went to log into my new account, my old account was still connected with my log in ID. It still had the updated address, email and phone number on it that the thief had put in there! I mean really??? That's the first thing I think a CSRep would change... or at least the fraud department. And to top it off, they wouldn't close the account until a police report was submitted for the stolen ATM Money. So all my $$ is now still in the hands of the thief. Finally got that changed and straightened out by February. Again, not happy with the bank but my local rep at Chase was again, awesome.
Last week I noticed my bank card not working. Thought I deactivated the strip on the back. Call this week to make an appointment to set up an $20,000 IRA. 2 days before Tax deadline so Uncle Sam doesn't get it. I called the 1-800 Customer Service to make an appointment and they told me I couldn't. As to why? They closed my account! No letter, no warning and I had $20000 to hand to them and they were as cold as ice! That's why my bankcard stopped working too! They advised that I signed the terms that they could close my account at anytime without notice. Now, I am not going to disagree that I signed it but how cold and callous they were. I went up the chain of command and the same thing "We reviewed your account and you are a risk to our bank so we no longer want your business."
Wow... the old Chase would have least let me have a warning. Being 2 days before the tax deadline, I was scrambling and with a lot of cash on me. Rushed my IRA money down to BB&T where I got great service and they even stayed open late for me since I couldn't get there before 5:00. Now that's service (and BTW, they notify you in advance if they need to close your account)!

My problem is Chase manipulated the $25 debit so it would post after my account was over drawn. Chase bank supports senior citizen/elder abuse. My mother, being old, has bad hearing and English is not her first language, so it is difficult for her to communicate. Someone cleaned out her bank account using her debit card. She reported it in the same month it happened after she received the monthly statement. She can't pay her bills or her rent now. She is now going to be homeless.
Chase bank is discriminating based on her hearing disability and language/ethnicity. They are not returning the money on the grounds that she allegedly once gave the debit card to her home health attendant to give to someone over the phone, because she could not hear the person's questions and her wrist was broken or damaged. This is an unconscionable travesty and Chase bank should be ashamed of themselves because supporting this type of elder abuse makes them the abuser. Chase bank abuses senior citizens.
We called them, spoke to managers and actually went down to the physical branch itself. Nobody wanted to help. The one helpful employee was the one we spoke to in person at the branch who said that she could see and understand there was a comprehension problem because she was interacting with her live in-person and that she herself was a nurse.
But higher-ups in the company, were encouraged by her to resolve the issue fairly, but chose to dismiss her professional medical assessment. I was a sucker for chase’s zero percent credit card for 12 months I signed up! My payment date due is the 19th. I forgot and called 20th at 5am Pacific Time because I hate being late. I was told there was a late fee of $35 plus my minimum payment of $25 due. I am not a rude person and I was not disrespectful to customer service, but I get told “unfortunately you had until 8pm eastern time on the 19th to pay, late fees are accessed mid night.”
Paying wasn't the issue it was the high late fee that had no leeway. I didn't mind making the payment I just wanted customer service to be like “hey, it’s 5 hours since mid night and I'll remove it this one time.” This company is a scam and rip off I hope they go bankrupt! Be smart, keep your money away from them and with a more reputable bank.

Two days later they just sent me an email explaining the check was returned, but I already had the money on my account so I did payments and now I have my account overdrawn. I called the customer service and spent two hours and just the first person could assist me. Even so I still had the overdrawn until they have reviewed the balance transfers, in the meantime I have to pay for charges and fees and also interest that this overdrawn can generated. I really feel so frustrated, they just said the agency has the responsibility to help you with. Can you believe this, after two hours on the phone trying to find help, they just said go to the agency where made the deposit.

Management, hr and recruitment work in concert to give that impression. Terrible work life balance, no policy regarding work/shift timings so that working hours are long and irregular. Weekend work, long commute and bad traffic makes life harder resulting in sick leaves and no vacations.
Unrealistic estimations and delivery agreed previously by management. Management constantly failing in delivery to onsite client resulting in bad appraisal, poor salary and low benefits. Weak management and lack of leadership resulting in pathetic and hostile work culture. Don't fall for employment with JP Morgan. It's not worth your sweat and hard work. If you have a problem with your checking or savings accounts, don't expect straight answers. Don't expect for Chase to tell you what will happen, just expect that Chase will engage in illegal activities and then do yourself a favor and contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to file a compliant. Due to a clerical error, the Department of Revenue erroneously put a hold on my joint checking and savings accounts. This matter was rectified in less than 24 hours with Department of Revenue. Chase, on the other hand, lied about receiving two faxes that cleared the hold and continued to pervasively lie about what was going to happen to our account. We were left without any money (all for ZERO debt! ), and then Chase paid out of our account ("funded the hold" they called it) after freezing DOUBLE the legal amount for the hold in BOTH our checking and savings accounts!
We have since discovered this is not a legal practice. When attempting to fix the issue, Chase representatives continued to state they would expedite the process. At one point, they gave us back our money and then it disappeared again by morning. They told us they gave us a temporary "credit" that went away at midnight. In the interim, they bounced our automatic payments and charge us penalties for overdrawing our account. We spent hours on the phone with various representatives in 2 weeks time. We had confirmation from the collection agency that Chase received two faxes on two different days, releasing the hold placed on our account that would have prevented Chase from funding the hold, but Chase denied ever receiving it despite it going to the same number the fax for the hold was submitted. Also, we were told repeatedly our account would be cleared within 24 hours.
At the end, we were told 48 hours which still would have been 2 days prior to this being resolved, according to one worker. A manager with Chase then explained it was 48 business hours, or 6 days, to get our money refunded. To top it off, not a single person informed us that the debt was going to be funded before we could do more about it, that our debit cards had gotten cancelled, and that there was absolutely nothing we could do. Nor would Chase contact the collection agency that confirmed there was a zero balance due! My husband and I are very busy professional people working high profile occupations in two different industries. We are both extremely well-educated people who have a history of successful interactions in the financial institutions we have used in our lifetimes - a variety of many different banks.
I never thought something like this was even possible, nor the amount of illegal activities that Chase can engage in without getting caught. They fraudulently continued to hold more than double the amount owed in the hold and then use all of our money from savings and checking in the days the hold should have been released. If I could give Chase zero stars, I would. Chase works fine until you have a problem but just like us, we didn't see a problem coming nor did we receive any notification prior to the hold being placed.

The next day I went to the local Chase branch (the bank where the account was first opened) and tried to make an immediate cash deposit to prevent the potential overdraft. I was completely blown away when the bank REFUSED to take a cash deposit to my daughter's account!?! (Is this even legal?) I had made cash deposits in previous years and I was unaware that they had changed their policies to prevent "money laundering". Later, I called the bank manager about this ridiculous policy and was basically told "too bad" because there was no way to get around this issue. All this for a potential $12 overdraft!
I don't really think that drug dealers attempt such small deposits. I can only think that this reminded me why I don't personally bank at Chase and I will actively try to persuade others to move their accounts to a bank that really wants customers. I was pretty much out of my mind, didn't know a whole lot of what was going on. During this time some money was taken out of my checking acct at Chase bank, by the time I had figured out what was going on, almost 16 thousand dollars had been taken out of my acct. I do not share my acct info with no one. I have been a customer of chase bank for years.
When I reported this to Chase they said they would take care of it and the money would be returned to my acct. A week later 4 thousand was returned. Then they took approximately 2 thousand back out, claiming that it met my spending habits--that I had shopped at some of the stores that money was spent at. I have been in Northern Ky for almost 48 years. I'm sure I've been in every store in that area at some time or another in my life. I was told upon reporting this I did not need to file a police report, they would take care of it.
After a couple of months fighting with them over the phone, I was told (toughluck). That's a great way to do business. They have refused to give my money back, all with some kinda poor excuse as to why. However they do boast 100% fraud liability. If you look at their book that you get when you first open an acct, they have not followed not one of their rules that they set forth. I didn't make their rules they did, and they can't even follow their own rules. Think this is a poor way to do business, and recommend anyone think twice before doing business with them.

I opened a new checking account at a Chase branch on Jan 23. The private banker made a mistake by switching my first and last names. I had to go back on the following Monday to re-sign all the documents. There might be no reason to complain because I needed to take half of the responsibility. When I got my debit card last Thursday, I couldn't activate it through phone by providing all the right information. The process took me more than 30 minutes and the telephone banker at last suggested me to visit a branch. I did, nothing was wrong and I activated my card smoothly. I didn't complain, just felt how bad luck I was.
However, the third bad experience came in. I used QuickPay to pay my rent on Saturday and spent one hour helping my landlord to set up his "Chase account". I truly couldn't understand why my landlord required to input all his personal information onto Chase's system while he holds an account in a different bank. Anyway, we finally set up everything and both got notices that he would have the deposit in two business days.
Yesterday evening, my landlord told me that he didn't have the money yet. I tried to check online but surprisingly found my account had been locked. I followed the message showing up to make a call immediately. A telephone banker told me that my online banking account was locked because I transferred my money. What a logic!!! I have enough funding to do the transfer, why couldn't I? Whatever he explained, he activated my account and said my rent will be transferred today.
Actually, just a moment ago, I found the money is still sleeping in my account. I was not shocked at all. I called Chase again, told them to cancel my "QUICK"Pay. What is going to happen next won't surprise me. No matter what they do, I have made up my mind to end my relationship with Chase.

I did not commit any fraudulent activity. The money was transferred successfully on Dec. 12th. I am demanding a letter on Chase letterhead stating that I did not commit fraud.
Lastly, when speaking with the executive office today, the rep told me he was "recording" our conversation. I explained I was doing the same. He stated that he would end the call if I did not stop recording him. I told him I was not just so I could continue on with getting this issue resolved. My question is, who in the world do they think they are to record consumers call but refuse to allow a consumer to do the same? I have read all of the online complaints about Chase. Apparently, federal officials do not care what Chase does to consumers. I, for one, will not let this issue go. This is very disappointing that a corporation such as Chase had the audacity to state on their letterhead that I committed fraud which resulted in her account closing. They basically called me a criminal!
It is a sad day when a corporation can get away this type of activity and no one hold the accountable. Good luck to all of you that have issues with this bank. I don't bank with them and will never. Hopefully, if you are reading all of these horror stories, you too will stop doing business with them as well.

With the exception of routine Branch transactions, Chase is perhaps the most unethical institution I have ever had the misfortune to deal with it. They constantly solicit, through e-mails, US mail and, UPS overnight letters. Each of these solicitations implies great benefits at little or no costs. In very fine print, often pages later, are disclaimers, disclosures and qualifications. In fact, each of these, from Solicitations to Refinance an existing Chase Mortgage at "0" cost, to using a complimentary Companion Airline Ticket for being a "Valued Chase Credit Card Holder" is in fact, nothing more than a veiled attempt to get the consumer to pay additional fees, charges and costs that were not necessary.
When you complain, the Chase complaint departments are trained to avoid responding to the issues, telling you how sorry they are, and just getting you off their back. Meanwhile, the consumer has been duped in to paying these costs with no avenue for correction. Although I would imagine that Chase is operating just within the limits of the law, they are certainly not operating with any degree of integrity or ethics. I would strongly recommend that you NOT USE them for anything.

I called the customer service and they are not even in the US, there is the language barrier and the guy had no idea what he was talking about. Horrible customer service. I spoke to one guy who couldn't tell me why my account was closed without any activity on the account, then he transfers me to his so called supervisor who states "I'm sorry ma’am but you signed an agreement with Chase Bank which states that Chase Bank can close your account without notice or explanation." What? Are you kidding me?
As I continued trying to explain that I haven't deposited any money, checks, or used the card yet, so it doesn't make any sense why my account would be closed, this so called supervisor just kept reading the script and telling me that he doesn't have to tell me why they closed the account and they don't have to notify me either. I was speechless. I have money coming in from a merchant account and I have money going out as I have paid bills so who is going to pay for all the bounced payments - Chase Bank? I don't think so.
This should be illegal. They can't just play with people's lives like that and have these idiots answer the phone, reading a script and not give you any kind of explanation. That is ridiculous. Chase Bank needs to go out of business and they need to get sued. How can you close my account when there was no activity and you didn't even notify me. That should be against the law. It's illegal and what about my rights? Don't ever deal with JP Morgan Chase. They are horrible and evil people who will take your money and rip you off. December 2013-January 2014, two weeks prior to a fraud situation that happened to my account, I had written several checks out to pay off my credit card and etc. However, fast forward to two weeks, I found out that someone had stolen my checks and try to cash out my checks. Branch manager in Lansing called me and had asked me to come in and to freeze my account. I did the paper work, filled out a compromised form so the checks from the old account would go through by taking the money from the new account.
With that being said, I still got letters and mails from the collection agency since all my checks had been bounced. I went back to the branch manager, showed her the letter saying that all my checks were bounced and that the compromised form didn't work, would I still have to be responsible for the bounce check fee despite the fact that I had money in my old account, but I had to close my old account because someone stole my checks? The branch manager reassured me that she would waived the bounce check fee, and that she would write a letter to the collection agency and had the situation taken care off. I keep calling her/updating with her and someone informed me that the branch manager went on vacation, but a bank teller took care of the situation.
Fast forward to a year later, I got a credit report and it turns out that I had a bunch of collections on my credit history. I went back and looked and it turned out the checks never went through! I ended up paying the bounce check fee and the money that was "owed" and I also went to a Rochester hills Michigan branch to find a complaint number for me to report on the Lansing branch manager. Turns out, they can't even find the Lansing branch manager in the contact list of my bank account! To disbelief, the Branch Manager in Rochester Hills were shocked that my "old account" was never closed either!
I am upset and disappointed, I don't care about the bounce check fee, but now I'm paying the price of having a collection on my credit history simply because one idiot decided to steal my checks and try to withdraw money out of that check. I can't even take this off my credit, it'll stay on there for at least seven years! I am also disappointed with the lack of the responsibility of that branch manager that "fell" through the cracks of handling this situation.

I ask for an explanation and they said that they would not provide me with one. They said that it was their prerogative. They said that my funds were frozen and that they would send me my money essentially when they felt like it. This has caused me a considerable amount difficulties. My payments are all direct deposited. All of my money is tied up and there is no way for me to get any. I am a retired government employee. I had to jump through hoops to open a new account with money that I had to borrow, as well as changing my direct deposit information with the VA and the Defense Finance and Accounting people. Which means that I will be unable to pay my bills, which will probably result in numerous late fees.
In addition to that I will have to essentially move mountains I order to get my money. I fail to understand how a bank can just close your account, keep your money, and not provide you with an explanation. Each time that I contact Chase I am always referred to the loss prevention people. So now I am stuck without money that belongs to me for an indefinite period of time. In addition to that, I am not sure whether I will be able to pay my bills on the first. This to me is just criminal. I spent over 20 years in the US Marine Corps fighting to protect my country only to be abused by a financial institution without an explanation. I have looked online and I have discovered that I am not the only one that this has happened to. This has got to be illegal in some way. More no, more denial, no accountability on their part. So, if my business for their credit products is not good enough, then neither is it for their deposit accounts. I am shutting down my Chase account by the beginning of the year and heading over to Capital One 360.

I use my Chase credit card because it provides protection in case a large store sells me a product that is defective etc. I pay high interest for this benefit and have used it for 27 years without one problem. Recently Home Depot installed the wrong rug in my home. They re-ordered my rug and installed the wrong one a second time. I stopped the payment as I had to keep all my belongings in storage until the correct rug was installed. I had to keep my dogs in a kennel for the first time ever for days. Finally the correct carpet was installed and I asked for a refund of the cost of the kennel only from Home Depot but they declined.
I put a stop payment and provided all the bills and loss of work days plus storage fees to chase who at first stopped the payment but then fully paid Home Depot because eventually I did get the correct rug. I will never trust Chase again or use their bank as this was a living horror show with me constantly having to call them and email them and fax them proof that I had loss. I now understand buyer beware. Do not buy carpet from Home Depot and do not use a credit card from Chase thinking they will protect you over the big stores.

Against my better judgment (being in a hurry), I deposited over $900 into the ATM on 10/31/2014. Not at the local branch where I normally go but a ATM in a different State West Virginia. First it spat back out a $100 bill and asked to try again, so I did, it took it and as I continued to feed the ATM the rest it keep doing that same thing. After a number of attempts my deposited was completed. Then the door that covers the deposit section started opening and closing repeatedly and a message came on the screen that the ATM has experienced a technical problem, to call and confirm my deposit was completed. So did before I left the ATM. They did credit my account the money and I was told while they complete their investigation and if they find any discrepancy they would reverse this credit. This investigation can take up to 10 working days. It really took over a month before I heard anything. Seriously send someone over there to check it like asap people. Even though I received a credit I will be in extreme anguish for the next 2 weeks until this matter is resolved.
On 12/1/2014 they reverse the credit and said they had no recorded that I made this deposit at any of the local branches in Ohio. Even though I told them it was in WV. I later sent in information (text balance, and ATM Withdrawal) and had them review and investigate the claim again for the 3rd time. It is so nerve-wracking, and stressful that a large company will treat their customers like a lair that I made up this whole story of making a deposit. It's really upsetting that now my acct is negative and they expect that I'm paying them this money back after I deposit this money and I work 4 jobs and used that money to pay back student loans.. Never again will I use the ATM to deposit cash.. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BANK CHASE-----lesson learned!!!!

Nov 20, I was at Chase Bank, Severn, in Metairie, LA at 2:18pm. I signed my name/time of arrival on the check in list/paper. 3 tellers were talking among themselves as there was no customer inside. I took a seat at the waiting room but nobody showed up. After waiting 20 minutes I approached empty teller window and asked her why I had to wait so long. She said one was in the meeting and the other was on lunch break (at 2:45pm?). 3 other customers showed up after me, signed their name and waited in the lobby. One male customer left after 30 minutes. Again I walked up to the teller and complained for a long wait without any explanation. I was told to go to another branch. I could not wait any longer than 45 minutes and I went to another Chase Bank (by Turnbull avenue) where a service was much better and the officer finished my request in 2 minutes. This branch by the Severn needs to be shut down or need a management change as there was no set procedure how to service customers.

Where do I start with Chase Bank? I'm not going to point blame at the people at the call center or the people at my local branch because I've never had problems with them yet. However, I legitimately feel as if Chase bank manipulates people's money to make money in fees. Here’s why: 1. Why is it that to add money to my checking account, I get charged over $80 in fees? A small amount of money transferred into my checking account from PayPal, Chase took it upon themselves to put that money PLUS some, into my savings account, over drafting my checking account and charging me that outrageous fee. Seeing this mistake, they transfer the money BACK into my checking to bring it to a balance of $0, causing me to get a fee for too many transfers from savings. THEN, the small amount I transfer from checking to savings automatically on paydays went through, charging me an ADDITIONAL overdraft fee. In which case transferred the money from my savings BACK to my checking and again charging me a fee for that, leaving both my checking account AND my savings account at a $0 balance. And this is a normal business practice?
2. Overdraft protection doesn't mean anything. Signing up for overdraft protection means no transaction goes through unless the funds are available in your account. Unless, however, that transaction is an automatic payment, then it will gladly take your money and charge you an overdraft fee. I would rather go without a phone for a day or 2 than to pay almost double my bill... 3. Why is it that it takes up to 3 business days to release my funds to me but seconds to take it away? The banks have to be earning money somehow, right? Why don't they just hold people's money and earn a bit of interest on it while the customers suffer without food, necessities, diapers for little ones, mortgage payments, and even something as simple as the fact that us, as working people and human beings, want our hard earned money when we need it!
I'll end this rant here. I have never in my life seen anything so crooked and sinister as the folks over at JPMorgan Chase. It's unreal. I'm reading on here of people that have lost their homes, their possessions, went without clothes and diapers because the crooks at this bank want to earn an extra nickel on our funds.

To add insult to injury, I recently asked my dad to deposit $200 into my account from NJ, (because I am unemployed and still have obligations) he was told that he could not, due anti fraud policies. Over $200!? Common sense is definitely not a policy. I even maintained my account with them EVEN AFTER I had to flee to the Atlanta area, where again, no Chase branches exist! I am in the process of completely separating from Chase FOR GOOD! The solutions that were offered were either inconvenient or time consuming! I think Chase needs to amp up their presence in major areas before they over regulate their clients! Not even a shared branch!!

I opened a saving account in January of 2014. This qualified my long time checking account to be upgraded to a "premier" checking account. In July I noted the interest paid on 15000 in savings was only pennies. Also I could not see that a "premier" checking account did not benefit me so I transferred all but 128 to a bank paying a greater interest rate. In November, in spite of having a large balance in my checking account, my 128 dollar saving account had a 5.00 service fee withdrawal.
When I went into the bank and asked to have the 5.00 svc fee returned to my account, I was told my saving balance was below their requirements. And because the 5.00 svc fee was taken by the "system" they could not add it back... Not happy. I am a long time customer who has never bounced a check and always maintained a higher than normal balance.

As a retired military officer, I regard questions about personal information, SSAN or other data as offensive and will NOT give over the phone. When I demanded they furnish written documentation to confirm the fraudulent activity, Chase Bank refused. WARNING TO EVERYONE: PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION to these people in the Fraud-Center-Boiler-Rooms that Chase uses. Especially not if you are serving in the military somewhere. This tactic is simply to gather information on consumers or worse. If Chase Bank is called before the US Congress to answer for this, I plan to attend.

Chase is the worst. I'll spare the long winded details. Essentially after opening a checking account, where I declined their Debt Card Coverage and gave them strict instructions to decline any charges to my checking account if funds were not available, they allowed a number charges to clear, added overdraft fees, and then deducted the funds from another joint account my wife and I had together, to cover the negative balance.
My question - Has anyone filed a lawsuit in Small Claims court against a big company like this? I read a very compelling Blog Post by someone with similar issues and he filed in small claims court. They settled before the court date (I don't remember which bank it was or if it was a bank). According to this writer, who had similar issues with fees and overdrafts and such, ended up filing a complaint in Small Claims Court, where you can't be represented by an attorney. I think he said he has done it 2 or 3 times for small amounts, a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars. It didn't sound like he was pursuing erroneous claims. Every time they settled. A big company like Chase won't incur the cost of sending a non attorney from Corp. and probably won't have local employees they want representing them.
I'm curious if anyone has experience or even heard of anyone doing this? While I believe wholeheartedly in the merits of my argument, I'm a little intimidated by the thought of someone actually showing up and having to argue, in court, against a corporation this large, with a pool of well educated, capable employees. That said, it could be fun!

I had deposited a check for $6000, and was explained that in two days the check should available in my account. A week had past yet no availability. At this point I'm upset, and with no idea of what’s going on. I call. They explained that it will take about a month for me to receive a $6000 check. Now I'm mad. Why would it take a month to receive a check. Well a bunch of excuses were made and finally it came down to the fact that they wanted proof funds were available in checks writer's account. Well I verified that 6000 was deducted from account and called check writer's bank to also verify. Called them back and explained the check writer's bank has done their job so why not them do theirs.
And here comes the crazy part. They go and stated I never received a check from check writer's account (and I have more 5 times). Mentioned I have and then she states “Oh, It needs to be like 15 to 30.” I thought to myself do I own a business. I called back next day to see if they had fixed the problem. They stated that they moved the date to 2 weeks instead of the month. Well, as great as that sounded I am not going to wait 2 weeks to have a check deposited to my account. They eventually told me that if I go and call the bank with the writer of the check next to me I can get it earlier. I have never heard such crap in my life. So now I'm going to close the account once I receive my 6,000, close my saving and completely remove Chase from my life. It has been a horrible 6 years with this crappy bank.

When Washington Mutual was sold to Chase, I walked in and was considering closing the account, but the person said that my benefits were grandfathered in. So, I did not close it.
Today, Thursday, at 4:00pm, I walked into the bank and not only was there few customers, but hardly any worker there to greet my entry. I was finally helped by a Mark **, Personal Banker. When he told me my acct was closed and fee-ed out and I got mad, he threw me out and said he was calling the police and did not have a manager for me to speak to. Then I went to two teller for information as to whom to turn to and they said that they won't help me either. THIS BANK DOES NOT ACCEPT CASH MONEY FOR DEPOSITS! I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING... A BANK THAT DOESN’T TAKE MONEY! WOW! I went to the in store location at Happy Valley Rd. & 67th Avenue. I stood in line for quite a while, there was only 1 teller to help all the people in line. I told the teller that I wanted to deposit $60 dollars into my son’s account.
He proceeded to ask me if I had an account with them, I replied no and then he told me since I don't have an account with them, I couldn't make the $60 CASH deposit into my kid’s account! Then referred me to the "manager" of maybe 22 years old. And she tells me we can't take the deposit due to money laundering issues and it's a new policy. I was laughing out loud, and shocked! I told her that was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of... if you look at my son’s account you will see that he is only 19 years old and we have no previous issues with "MONEY LAUNDERING"!! THIS IS JUST A POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SCAM TO GET EVERYONE TO JOIN THIS BANK!!
My son has now cancelled his account with CHASE and will never return. I will be telling everyone about this ridiculous policy! P.S. I understand that money laundering is an issue, but they need to adjust this policy. I mean I didn't have thousands of dollars, it was only $60 bucks!! COME ON!!! CHASE SUCKS!

I moved from Texas to NC on September 13th. I went into the bank on Hulen on September 12th, made an address change, as well as my legal name change on our account. As we are now married. I planned in keeping our accounts as, my husband had several more weddings till mid-November in Texas, and I like Chase. Though the closest was West Virginia. On Oct 10th, my father wrote me a check using my maiden name, and it bounced. He being 75 years old just made a simple miscalculation. Understandable.
My husband using his business card and his Doing Business As Form, tried depositing a check where the bride forgot to use his legal name, but he had his form - no big deal. My father's check bounce and they looked at the name with my maiden, and flagged me for fraudulency. Chase shut my account down with no notice, until I saw my direct deposit not clear. Then my mortgage company called saying Chase refused them, saying my account was closed. No notification - Nothing.
It has been 15 days, and still no check sent to me. They are saying a check from 2 months ago went through and my ten day hold has to start over again. Again, no notification. I have been treated like a fraud - no regard for me the consumer. And truthfully no real reason for flagging me for such a heinous crime. I do not bounce checks myself, no history. I do not do things illegally - do not intend to do so. To be treated like a criminal is the most disgusting act, and not even a question to me, as maybe there is a misunderstanding. My husband is a wedding DJ, and has never had an issue with his form, or business cards, though rarely do brides write him a check in his entertainer name. It happens, but that is what the legal form is for.
We the consumer have done our part, Chase has done nothing but give me the run around, hold my hard earned money, hurt my potential credit, show lackluster customer service, and being very discourteous. I do not appreciate being treated like I am a wrongdoer or criminal, especially when I give them my good business. I will continue to report and tell people of such an attitude and lack of customer service this bank has, as I have never had any bank ever treat me in such an ugly manner. I want my $1400, and I want an apology for such heinous actions.

Well after getting it to work after 3 attempts, I went out of town same day, rented a car with same card and got a room with same card and chase called me early next morning after coming from wedding party night before. They called from fraud dept and was asking questions which I could barely hear from being in motel room and still hung over from party that night before and undoubtedly most of answer question wrong and was told not to use card anymore and they closed my damn card. Told me that I would have to take two forms of ID into a chase bank to verify myself.
I ask what was closest chase bank to me in TN and was told there wasn't one near. So I ask could the hotel verify home I was since I had my id and used the card there which had pending charges for when we check out and I was told no. So therefore I had to pay for the room and card was closed, so therefore I don't have a clue as how to prove I am who I am and they were to call me back but no response. But I don't even know if I would want the card back after all that. Just send my bill for my charges from online purchase and good riddance chase.
