My wife's sister sent me a money order of just $40 from Indiana just for me to take the MO to Walmart and my transaction was declined. Reason? My identification could not be verified, I thought it was a mistake. I called the # given to me by CS in Walmart. The first guy requested for my info blah blah and asked me to take the MO back to the store or find another store to cash it. I went in again and the CS, this time tried to speak with CERTEGY operator... same question was asked again from me and declined the second time. So frustrating. With what people have said about Certegy, I think it is high time Walmart withdraw their relationship from CERTEGY. Not a good image on Walmart.

Has to be the most ** company on the planet. They have a routine to keep asking the same questions and you to repeat the same information 10 times when they heard it the first time. They wont connect you to a supervisor and outright lie when you ask for one. It was a simple question I asked them and they evaded the question and try to misdirect with some form talk from a page. To get the information I wanted they actually had the balls to try and sell me a service when by law they have to answer my question. I didn't give this company even one star because they deserve a negative 100 stars and I will be filing a lawsuit on this company for wasting my time. When I get the time I will be going to Florida with Judge Judy and do some ** kicking. They thought they was going to ** with me but I will be the one ** with them. I went to a City Market/Kroger to cash a Western Union money order that was purchased at a City Market/Kroger. Certegy denied payment due to "high risk." High risk regarding whom? They couldn't answer that. How could a grocery store who sells a money order not be able to cash it? It had their store name on it!

This morning we went to Lowe's to purchase some garden plants. The purchase came to $116.42, for which I wrote a personal check. The check was declined by Certegy. I first called my local bank and they said there was more than enough money to cover the check. After holding for Certegy for half an hour, the guy named Larry told me that I was "high risk". My Hubby asked to speak to a supervisor and this Larry person wouldn't let him do that. We got this Larry's ID number and Hubby said we were contacting our lawyer.

I decided to write to Lowe's President and CEO, Robert Niblock and tell him what is going on, as we just built a new home and used Lowe's for everything from appliances to lighting fixtures and flooring. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened to us in our 46 years of marriage; we've never had a bounced check and our credit rating is over 800. After reading some of the other reviews, I know that we're not alone in our problems with this Certegy company. Lowe's should drop them because they are certainly going to lose customers by using this company.

My husband has cashed his payroll checks at Walmart every two weeks since we moved to KS almost a year ago and never had any problems. Last night, however, we took our federal refund check in to cash and Certegy denied us. We were totally thrown through a loop. This is not something that you would ever expect to happen with a US Treasury Check! The people at Walmart weren't to blame. It's Certegy that's to blame!

And the worse part is that after waiting for almost an hour to speak with someone, she couldn't give us a specific reason as to why our check was denied! How can a company decline to cash your check, make you hold for an hour to talk to someone, and then not give you a specific reason?!? They're basically saying "We're not going to cash your check but we don't know why... It could be this or that..." I really hope that Walmart ditches this company because they are costing them a lot of business. We certainly will not be cashing any further checks through Walmart.

Last night, I went to Walmart to cash a check from a 401k loan I obtained from Fidelity. I had checked Walmart's website for a list of checks they cash days ago because I knew it would be late evening when I received the check and my bank would be closed. I have cashed checks at Walmart-payroll, student loan refunds, income tax, etc many times. Not anymore. I handed the cashier the check with my ID. She ran it and said they can't cash it. I told her that the Walmart website lists 401k checks as checks they do cash.

She said they do cash them, but mine was declined by Certegy. Wtf?! How do you get declined to get a check cashed?? I was furious as I have cashed checks there so many times and shop there all the time. I was going to call Certegy, but after reading these reviews I see that it won't do me any good. I'll just look up the list of vendors who use Certegy and won't shop at those anymore. This company is completely ridiculous and needs to be shut down! I've never read anything good about them. As treasurer for our church, I am a check-signer. We pay for everything by check/cash. We are a church that is over 85 years old. Our pastor had to make some purchases at Lowe's for our church workday. I sent him with a signed check so he could pay for the purchases. Keep in mind, that we have purchased items (with a check) prior to this - in fact, just last month. We also have 3 church members who are Lowe's employees. However, this time, our check was denied. They could not give our pastor a reason why.

Luckily, he was with one of our deacons who was able to complete the purchase with his own personal credit card. I received a call from them asking why our check could be denied. They gave me the reference receipt and I called Certegy as instructed. I was told they could not speak with me as I did not make the purchase. I explained who I was and that I was the check signer, not the pastor, and they still refused. RIDICULOUS! I will be contacting Lowe's and complaining to them. It seems that Certegy's only reason for rejecting people's checks is to obtain personal information and run credit checks.

We were declined when we went to Wal-Mart to cash our tax refund. When we called to find out why we were declined, we were given some generic BS excuses as to why. This is not the first time we have been declined for check cashing, my husband has also had his payroll check declined. The company he works for is a well known steel company, there was really no need to decline it. I really wish businesses would quit using Certegy. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason for them declining check cashing. Not to mention, the loss of business the companies get when Certegy declines checks due to bogus criteria.

Co. sent a bounced check (approved by Certegy) for reimbursement. Because the check did not have a phone number on it, they reduced their coverage by deducting $2100. The phone number was inputted into their terminal at time of approval so they did have the number. They used this loophole so as to reduce the amount of payment they had to make. Company has terrible customer service and will look for any reason to deny a claim, especially a big one.

Why does Walmart and Kroger, two very reliable businesses use this company? You are unable to cash a payroll check or a credit union check at either of these two places if you don't fit Certegy's criteria, which is basically you have to write a lot of checks. Even when they put you on their VIP list you still get declined. This company needs to be shut down.

Updated on 12/30/2018: There have been some problems recently with the payroll department of my employer, and I was issued a paper check for my pay, instead of the normal direct deposit... So, I went to the Walmart Money Center, to cash the check, and was turned down because of Certegy, and instead of my money, I was given a piece of paper with contact information for Certegy. I cannot wait until I get a resolution from this elusive, clandestine company as to why my check was declined, because I need to eat NOW.

So, I went to their website, www.askcertegy.com, to see why this decision was made, and got this ignorance: "This transaction received a decline recommendation from Certegy because it did not meet the acceptance guidelines, which may vary by check cashing location and transaction. Factors may include a combination of: The check number, dollar amount, check cashing history, or other transaction details. Although this recommendation is final, we will evaluate all future checks at the time they are presented. Another option to cash this check is to visit the financial institution listed on it." This amounts to NOTHING really, and seems to be just another cowardly, criminal attempt to justify a company that thrives on declining paper checks based on very little, if anything, and I am sickened by this...

Why am I not allowed to cash a payroll check, it makes no sense. I have never bounced a check in my life, and have nothing that would justify a decline?? I may try to follow up on this with Certegy, but have read that this is a lost cause, and if you do make contact, they will still explain zero to you. In any case, I now have to find another way to cash my paycheck, because the Money Center is obviously in cahoots with these criminals. I must now wait until payroll opens back up Monday to see what they suggest. But Certegy NEEDS to be shut down, as they provide no service whatsoever, except to decline checks from people for no good reason, and then hide behind scripts/FAQs, when questioned!!

Original Review: I finally got my FAFSA check in the mail today and went to Walmart to get it cashed... Unfortunately, Walmart Money Center uses this company to cash checks, and they came back with some ridiculous concern based on some ignorant "criteria" that I supposedly did not meet to refuse to cash the check. Today is Saturday, and their advice to try the bank the check is drawn on, Bank of America, was useless because it was after 12 noon and the bank was closed. So I called the number provided to get clarification but instead just got the same gobble-gook about criteria repeated by a live agent, and an apology for any inconvenience followed by a "have a good rest of your weekend". Yeah right, Gee thanks. WHAT A RIP!!

I shopped at Big Lots today (1/30/16) located in Sacramento off Watt Ave and highway 50. I paid for my purchases using a personal check. My check was declined by Big Lots. I asked why and was given a number to call for a company called Certegy. I spoke to an agent at Certegy, who, after researching my driver's license number, routing number and bank account number told me there was no negative information reported (which I already knew) under the information I provided her. However, she proceeded to tell me that the reason my check was declined was because I did not fit their statistical model crap for writing a check... I asked "WTH does that mean??" And, she said, "Basically because you do not write a lot of checks, YOU were denied!" She also said "I will put you on the VIP list, and to wait ten minutes and to try." and have my check processed again. Well, I did just that and was declined again!!

So I called Certegy back again to get the same scripted information all over again. Now, I shop at the local Big Lots every month, because I want to... NOT BECAUSE I HAVE TOO! When my check was declined, Big Lots said to me I can use an alternative method of payment. I say to Big Lots, "How dare you tell me what kind of payment to use!!!" What Big Lots should do is do away with Certegy and find a company that bases their decisions on facts and not fiction! I decided after many hours of calming down is that Big Lots is the bigger loser for I will never shop there again and WILL spend my hundreds of dollars elsewhere! In November I purchased a money order from the Town & Country Kroger in Columbus, OH, for the purpose of paying rent for that month. After a dispute with my rental company which ended in court, it was agreed that I would end my lease with the company and moved out this past month, with the rent payment being returned to me. I made an attempt to get a refund for the rent payment at the point of sale (Kroger), and was notified that based on certain "criteria" that Certegy advised, the money order could not be refunded by Kroger. Now, I had just checked with Western Union the day before to ensure that the money order had not been cashed, and it had not.

The representative at Kroger told me to contact Certegy about why they had advised Kroger to refuse refund... I used their phone to do so, and spent (wasted) literally 25 minutes going in circles about why the money order was refused at the point of sale. These ** are reading or memorizing a script, but have no actual reason for the advice they give to merchants. Certegy has no outlet for fielding complaints, so I suppose that I'll just have to write a letter in all caps in protest. Why is this company in existence? What is their use?

Certegy refuses Paychex, Inc. checks now. I received my payroll check. I took it to my bank to DEPOSIT it. I was told that the funds would not be available for two weeks because Certegy declined it. If the check clears the funds will be made available. If not, tough. They gave me the option to cancel the transaction and attempt to cash the check elsewhere, which I did. I then took the check to Walmart where it was again declined by Certegy for the same reason.

According to Walmart Certegy has been declining Paychex, Inc. checks. Now I have no way to cash my payroll check. Worse, if I deposit it I won't even have access to it for two weeks. Wrote a check to JC Penney's December 5 which was denied. Was given the same runaround as many of the other complaints about this company. Penney's denied the check, not them, but based on their report that supposedly my check posed a risk based on the check number and amount. Went straight to my bank who assured me there were no problems at their end. I have had my checking account for quite a number of years and of course I have written a lot of checks, #** shouldn't be considered out of line.

Obviously Certegy does not do credit checks and or check account balances with your bank. And why do they need my driver's license number? I'm clear there also. No driving violations and I'm insured. I'm also very disappointed in JC Penney, I've been a loyal customer for the 55+ years. If they do not want to accept checks, make that clear up front. Our church has been making purchases at Lowe's all month using our checks as the form of payment. We are making renovations for our new place of worship. Only our authorized signers through our bank are able to make purchases. So this month we have spent nearly $4000 at Lowe's alone. The company, Certegy, are the ones that began to decline our checks in the last 2 weeks. 3 checks have been declined. I'm the pastor of the church and I am very upset this keeps happening.

One check over $2000 was accepted Aug. 3, and Aug. 24 a $95 check was decline. My co-pastor and I called Certegy to find out why. The guy that took our call said maybe our license was keyed in wrong. He researched and could not find out why. Then he offered to put us on a "VIP" list so it would be unlikely this would happen again. So Aug. 25 me and 2 others went back to Lowe's to pick up more things for the church. Purchase was $513. Again check was declined. I called and this time I spoke with a lady. She told me that our check was at risk. I asked, "What kind of risk? Only our authorized signers make purchases on behalf of the church and the checks serve as our record for bookkeeping and confirmation we are handling the members' monies properly." Her suggestion is that we use another form of payment.

It's an absolute disgrace and shame we have to stand in line with customers behind us and it look as if the church is using bad checks. Then someone has to pull from their person finances to pay for purchases. We reimburse the individual, which makes it appear as if the church just is writing checks to members of the church, which is totally unethical. I don't know who Certegy is but I can say they do not need to be in the position they are interfering with the consumer's ability to transact business because something is clearly wrong with their system. I understand blocking the fraudulent people but when did the good people begin being blocked? This is a "Hot Mess" and I'm waiting on Lowe's management to call me back with a solution because Certegy knows NOTHING.

It's even more horrible for people who may be going through something and need somewhere like Walmart to be able to cash a check after everywhere else is closed.

Have been denied by Certegy twice in the last two weeks at PetSmart and Cartier. The reasons for denial are not seen by screeners and are called "proprietary reasons." One check for $26.33 and one for $6,804.00. I have no "flags" and write checks in this range. To hide behind "proprietary" information in this case is ridiculous. Having a screener give you VIP status is pure comedy. As a business owner I understand the companies using this type service are trying to prevent bad checks, but trusting an algorithm to make good business decisions is a bad idea. I'm lucky to live in a country where I am FREE to take my business elsewhere.

I was told it was because Certegy, a service they use for checks denied the transaction so I called them. The Certegy rep said that I couldn't cash checks because I had no history, not because of anything bad but no history cashing checks. So they are denying me service with all their customer because of no reason. The rep said I need to cash smaller amounts to build history with them before I would be able to cash a payroll check. This can't be right denying services for no legitimate reason.

They tried to put it through again and it was denied for the second time. I called the listed number on the "denied" receipt and was told that there were "reasons" that it was denied. Then she asked me to hold on, came back and said she had put me on the VIP list. I asked her how she did this and she said she could see enough information. She also said that it would most likely result in my check being accepted, but was no guarantee.

A few weeks later, I tried to write a check for a purchase in the same store, just to see if it would be accepted, and it was denied again!! I didn't bother to call again. Certegy declined a money order that I purchased from their client, Smiths Grocery and stated that my "check" didn't meet their criteria. I purchased a money from Smiths Grocery Store in Las Vegas Nevada on 7/3/2015; location 000370. The money order was for $774.00 for rent due that day. Fortunately, my rent was prorated due to me moving out that following weekend. So I didn't have to pay the full amount. I returned to Smiths on Saturday 7/4/2015 and explained to them that I needed to a refund for the $774.00 money order and an additional money order for $301.00. The agent stated that I had to wait 48 hours for the "check" to go into the system. I thanked her and patiently waited until Monday to return to the store and receive the refund. (Meanwhile, my landlord has been very patient with me but demands the rent today, 7/6/2015 so I can avoid the steep late fees.)

I give my money order in the amount of $774.00 to the customer service agent at Smiths and she states "the check has gone through the system, however, they can't cash it because Certegy declined it." What? Who's Certegy? She gives me their customer service number and states "maybe you have the wrong address." So, I grab my fussy four year old and head to a semi-quiet place to call Certegy. I speak with a very polite Filipino gentleman who asks me to give him my money order information so he can figure out why the money order declined. After about fifteen minutes, he tells me Certegy can't approve my money order "check" to be cashed because it doesn't meet their check cashing recommendations.

Are you kidding me? First, why is a money order being treated like a check when I purchased it with my own money from a merchant that employs Certegy? Secondly, why can't I receive my own money back from the establishment in which I purchased the money order? I had not only the receipt that was attached to the money order but the original receipt that I received from the customer service agent at Smiths along with my drivers license. Trying to get angry, I asked him "what are your check cashing requirements?" He states "we look at check amount, merchant policies" and additional information that I wasn't able to understand due to the language barrier. Still not acknowledging what the Certegy representative is telling me, he continues on with "we protect the customer (Smiths) and the consumer (me) from fraudulent checks." What!? So I ask him "Are you treating this as if it's a bad check?"

He states, "no, it just doesn't meet our check cashing criteria." He continues to repeat this and frustrated, I hang up. I'm practically in tears. This is a lot of my hard earned money trapped in a money order which is usually treated like cash but now that I need to return it, is being treated like a check. So, I hurry home and research Certegy and not only do they look at credit history, bank information and other personal information to decide who can get their checks cleared but their reputation is atrocious. What does my credit history or bank information have anything to do with a money order I paid cash for?

Ultimately, I had to give my landlord the primary money order for $774.00 so I'm not charged late fees and in a month they MIGHT return the remaining funds. Side note: I make one last attempt to figure out why my check was declined so I go to the Certegy website where one can input check number, date and amount in return for an explanation; the screen read no check has been found, meaning it doesn't exist. Certegy intends to deny everyone's checks or in my case, a cash paid money order. Wow.

When trying to buy a washer and dryer I ended up going to the bank and writing a check there to get the cash - hoping that using checks would somehow clear my account. I got off work too late to cash my check at my bank, so I thought I'd just cash it at my local Wal-Mart and do some necessity shopping. Well, I waited in a long line with my sick 18 month old baby for upwards of 30 minutes, only to be declined check cashing, reason code 2. It was about 7:30 pm on a Friday. I have cashed a check from this same employer at this same location, but it was at lunch time. I don't have any negative check cashing history. However, this time I got declined, good ole reason 2.

I went on to deposit my check at my bank's ATM...I got $200 and the rest will be available Monday. But I wanted to get some answers on why I was declined. I found a website that gives some good information, from a business perspective. My check was declined because of a high volume of activity on my employer's account, and they were unable to verify information (I surmise) because it was after business hours.

All I was told is that it was due to my driver's license. Came home, logged into LifeLock. There is nothing wrong that is associated with my driver's license. This company - Certegy - is hokey! I am all for protecting myself from fraud, but this is ridiculous! Stores are going to lose customers if this keeps happening. It is embarrassing and uncalled for! Longest, most aggravating night in Wal-Mart. It's enough I have to get past the chicks in pyjamas, the obese women with their rat dogs in the carts, and the men fighting with their kids to get out the door and smoke that cigarette. Oh yes a pleasant experience in Wal-Mart this was.

So I get in line at customer service, only one guy in front of me being helped, no one behind me. I just received my tax return check today 2.9.2015, and called ahead of time to verify they could cash it for me, as this would be my FIRST ever dealings with Wal-Mart. I go up to the counter and the girl asks me what I need help with. I told her I had called and spoke to a gentleman over the phone about cashing my fairly large tax return and he told me no problem, $6. She says, “Absolutely we can help you.” She asks me for my id, and birth certificate, I show her and she says ok. She then says she doesn't think she has enough money in the till to cover my amount and she'll need to call a supervisor. No problem, I understand.

By this time a line had been forming. She asks if I could please step aside it will be a few minutes and she'll help someone else. I said ok, no issue there. Within 5 minutes, I see a woman come over with the blue bags most stores carry money in. I jokingly say, "You must be the one with my money!" She laughs and says, "Yeah that's me." The customer I had stepped aside for OF COURSE was returning about 90 cans of cat food. Apparently he bought bottle fluffykins the wrong flavor. (Whatever) so I gracefully wait still... Patiently. Until finally they work that out and send him on his way. By this time there was a good 15-20 people lined up. She then writes my id number on the check, and passes it through her machine (I'm getting excited now) and tell me to please input my SSN.

Not two seconds later a little square slip prints up and she tells me, "Ok this isn't totally bad, it's been happening all day and people call the number and it’s usually fixed in 5/10 minutes." I asked her what is she talking about and she shows me a slip that says "error check declined reason #2." Ok...... I said um, why? She said she wasn't sure and to call that number, but step aside...AGAIN. So of course I step aside and call the number and get an automated system.

Not gonna work for me so I press "0-0-0#" and got a dial tone. I get some heaven accented lady on the phone who asks what the basis of my call is. I said I'm at Wal-Mart trying to cash my tax return and got this slip that says "reason 2" she says, "Yes ma'am I can help you with that." She proceeds to ask me for my id number and the check amount. She was not understanding me in any way shape or form. Just wasn't happening.

My frustration level is rising. Mind you I am in my 9TH month of pregnancy, so I'm over it. So I tell her, "Ma'am I am really sorry but I cannot understand you and you cannot understand me, can you please transfer me to someone else, thank you." She then begins to ARGUE with me on the phone asking me why I want to be transferred, she is the one who can assist me if I just speak clearer.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I'm in Wal-Mart damn near yelling "D AS IN DOG, B AS IN BOY, Y AS IN YO YO" and I'M not clear?? I told her I refuse to deal with her and I need a supervisor NOW.

After ANOTHER 5 minute hold, a CLEAR English speaking woman gets on the phone and verifies my first and last name and my id number. I'm like THANK YOU HALLELUJAH! She then tells me she is so sorry for what I'm dealing with and she will do what she can to help. We all know what that means. She tells me, "It looks like at this time your check is declined." I said, "Yes. WHY?" She says, "Certegy is based of a number of risk factors and it could be either one." I laughed and asked her what the hell she is talking about. She says, "It’s not your check, I want to reassure you your check and your information do match up and everything is legitimate, BUT our system cannot accept your check at this time."

I'm now LIVID. I demand an answer and what they mean in detail, her simple minded self had the nerve to tell me, "It could be your dollar amount; it could be your transaction history..." I said BULL, a man just cashed his in front of me for 7900$, and I have NO transaction history with Wal-Mart at all. Not one check cashed, not one money order, not one card service of ANY kind. This is my first and very first time ever coming here with this sort of business.

She basically tells me how sorry she is, still NOT explaining any reason for the decline, and tells me to try the check at a bank or another check cash place. Don't you think if I could, I wouldn't be in Wal-Mart??? Man... After an hour in the NON customer service area I finally just walked out and told the girl, you guys are ** up MAJORLY dealing with that company to screen checks. Of course no one cares. But I am not stuck with a check I cannot cash and no reason behind it. I hope Certegy gets shut down ASAP pieces of horse manure.

I called Certegy and ended up with a representative with broken English that asked me for the routing number on the money order and my driver's license number.

After giving her the requested info I was told that Certegy goes based off a algorithm formula and determined me to be a risk, however she would not tell me what the risk was considering it was a money order with sufficient funds and I provided my ID card. She basically told me to go to a check cashing service and get it cashed there which baffled me since those places charge a high fee to cash money orders. I asked, "Why in the world would a money order be declined if it had funds on it? It's not like I was trying to give you a bogus money order." Both my last checks were denied due to reason #2. Verified checks were good with employer (a large company) and got them cashed at a "check cashiers", who is very strict what they cash, with no problem. Nothing has changed for this to happen. Don't have a bank account, don't write checks, no credit cards, check was same amount it always is. Yet still upon calling the number on the receipt, all I'm told is it "didn't meet our guidelines", which they "couldn't" specify what one. So they decided to quit cashing my checks, and no reason as to why. When asked what I could do to fix it , they said "just cash it somewhere else".

This company being in business is a joke, as well as Walmart for using them. I spend at least ~$500/month at Walmart for groceries and necessities, but now will take my money elsewhere. Shame on Walmart and other stores for using such a shady company to deal with.

Hubby is irate and the customer service guy is baffled as to why it was denied. Hubby calls the number on the receipt and still can't get any reason from these people as to why a check from an international investment company, who deals in millions if not billions a day, couldn't be cashed. The Certegy fool said it was to protect Walmart from abuse, that it had nothing to do with him personally, it was based on past check cashing history...and so on. Nothing that made any sense, whatsoever.

Absolutely ridiculous what this company is denying for apparently. No real reason. Please explain to me how a multi billion-dollar company has abused check-cashing policy? My experience was as follows: I tried to write a personal check on my bank account and it was declined! This was at my local Shopko store in Sioux Falls SD. The check-out gal did not give me a phone number to call, but just simply said, "Sorry!" I asked if the check could be run through the machine again, but the check-out gal told me, "Once it's declined, it won't let me run it through again." Needless to say, I was upset! I couldn't believe that a store uses a machine to tell the clerks whether a person's check meets their (varied) criteria or not. At this point, I told the gal to "forget the whole thing!" and I walked out of the store empty-handed. It is not right that stores feel they have the right to dictate in what manner customers should pay for their goods! That same day, I wrote a frosty email to the company and related my experience to them. I actually got a long-distance call from Shopko who expressed sympathy for my experience. When this caller asked if I had received "the phone number,” which I had not, she gave it to me and told me to call them (Certegy).

When I told her that I've been reading about customer complaints about this company (Certegy) on various forums, the Shopko caller had nothing to say. Thus ended the phone call. I've been doing some research on Certegy.. and I have discovered they paid out $3.5 million for violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Furnisher Rule. As for my experience, I intend to return to my local Shopko store and voice my complaint. Whether it does any good or not, at least my voice will be heard.

Went to Walmart in Cuba Missouri, the same Walmart that I cash 2 checks at a month for the last 3 years to cash a check I received from Edward Jones for selling some stock, and it was denied by Certegy for reason #2. I call the 800 number on the slip, and the man on the other end could barely speak English asks me a series of personal information that should have nothing to do with if a check from Edward Jones is acceptable or not. He couldn't give me a reason why, just some generic speech about check series, number, etc. He also didn't even know what/who Edward Jones was... I don't really know how that is really possible...unless of course I wasn't speaking with someone from the United States.

So basically now I don't have my money, and now I'm afraid I might have just put myself at great risk for Identity theft. I did some research online, and Reason #2 is a high influx of transactions, ummmm yeah, I would say it's fairly reasonable, and safe to assume that Edward Jones has a VERY high influx of transaction. At the checkout the girl at the desk that couldn't cash my check said this system was new for them, and it has been denying nearly everyone... Sucks for Walmart, cause a lot of people cash their check there, and because they're already there, they also spend money. I think it's probably the idea behind offering the service. I hope they go with a better company when they realize employing this service may be costing them more than the cost of the service, because I have a hard time believing Edward Jones should be a "risk factor" for cashing their checks...

I think Walmart might be paying a company that just might be stealing people's info for other reasons... If my identity gets stolen because of this I think Walmart will be entirely responsible for putting their customers at that risk. The only thing that came out of this is I got embarrassed cause the check was denied. Certegy apparently thinks Edward Jones is trustworthy to honor their checks, and I have given enough info to a foreign guy thinking I was dealing with Walmart by calling the number on the slip "they" gave me, to have my identity given to someone on a silver platter.

BUT they really need to put a disclaimer on their website and signage in store, so at least everyone knows in advance what might happen. I will have the occasion to try it again in a couple of weeks and will post again if it is declined after 10 months of not using their services.

Our son's hot water heater began leaking a couple of days ago and because we didn't want the bottom to fall out and have him drowning in 50 gallons of water, we did what any self-respecting parents do, we took him to Lowe's. We first drove to the Lowe's that was close to his condo, only to discover they did not have the one we needed in stock. We had stopped by our local Lowe's store and found one there prior to driving 15 miles in rush hour traffic to his condo. So off to our local Lowe's still in rush hour traffic (don't know why they call it rush hour when it is all day). My son had called our Lowe's and spoke to man who told him that he would be there until 9 pm.

We finally arrived at the store, walked back to the plumbing department, asked to see the man our son spoke to earlier only to discover he was on his break. Well we had to wait around for 1/2 an hour for his return. Tried to get some help from another salesperson who had no idea how to answer any questions, even after going to the computer. Long story made short, the man returned from his break answered all of the questions, set us up with everything we needed to get the hot water heater installed and we were very pleased. He walks us up to the checkout register, the clerk scans everything including my Lowe's rewards card, my son pays $100 with his debit card and I proceed to write a check, something I have done several times at this store and it was declined. Not once but twice!!! There was a line of people behind me, my son is looking at me with disappointment and I am furious.

He hands me a sheet of paper with the Code 2 message on it. There was money in my account and I have not written a bad check ever! My son had to pay the balance with his credit card and off we went. I was holding onto that sheet of paper cussing all the way home. Too angry to call last night so I attempted to call this morning, was put on hold and while listening to the message decided to hang up and go online. Sure glad I did! Printed off the VIP enrollment form, proceeded to run it through the shredder after reading all of these complaints. Have also written down all the names of stores who affiliate themselves with this ** company. My credit card had been hacked so I am waiting for my new one to arrive, hence the checkbook. A class action lawsuit should be filed against Certegy and soon!

On July 3rd I bought $10,000 worth of windows from Lowe's and wrote a check. On July 29th I get a phone call from a company that did not identify themselves but asked for my address and checking account no. I asked what this was about and they said they were collecting for a debt. When I asked for what they said they wouldn't give me any info until I gave them what they asked for... I said "Well, since you called me you probably know my address and no one in their right mind is going to give you a checking account no. without knowing what it's for." Then I hung up.

She called back and said the debt was for Lowe's. I said I don't have a credit card at Lowe's and I don't owe them anything. Then she tells me it was for a check that didn't go thru for windows. So I asked her what happened and I wrote the check almost a month ago - why am I just finding out about this now. She said they covered the check and Lowe's doesn't know it didn't go thru. She told me if I didn't give her info to cover the check she would turn it in to a collection agency that affected my credit rating. I said "well, I'll take another check to Lowe's as they are only a mile from me and they will have it in 10 minutes." She said "you now owe us the money not Lowe's." Normally if this would happen I would think there would be time given to research what she was saying like a phone call to Lowe's or my bank. I regret doing this but I gave her my checking account no. and she said everything was taken care of. At no time during this conversation did she say anything about a service charge that would be $473.

I got a letter in the mail the next day dated Aug 31 (it was Aug 30) saying they were taking a charge of $473. These facts are the reason for my complaint. I was backed into a corner, lied to and they were not honest about the entire transaction. They are bullies!!!! I called the no. on the letter and got this representative that was foreign and did not speak or understand English well. He was extremely difficult to talk to. He would not let me talk to anyone else and kept putting me on hold. I told him if the $473 was taken out of my checking account I would be handling it as a theft. After a couple more times being put on hold he said you will get a letter in 7-10 days. I said and this letter will say the charge is waived? He said it would be in the letter and I'll get it in 7-10 days. So, of course, in 5 days I received a letter and it was not waived and by the time I got it I had already checked with my bank and knew they took out the $473.

So I am now working with Lowe's and they are being very cooperative because I told them I wanted to cancel the window order for $10,000. I don't have a complaint against Lowe's although I don't have the windows yet and as of August 15, today, I have no commitment as to when I'm getting them. Lowe's said they will give me a discount of $473 and they would dispute the charge with Certegy if I would let them reinstate the windows. I have agreed to do that because they put it in writing. So Certegy pays off the supplier and now they are in complete control of the transaction and can do what they want and charge extreme out of line service charges. I also feel they hold the checks so enough time goes thru where you can't do anything about it.

Why did it take them from Aug 3rd till Aug 29th to let me know. It sounds like the complaints on this site are basically Walmart. I'm sure for all the checks they won't let be cashed they can charge a service charge. No wonder this country is in such bad shape economically when a business like this is allowed to operated. What is wrong with our government to let this go on. Put them out of business. They are scam artists.

I have spent time and money sending personal data in detail to Certegy. They will not cash a single check. My FICO scores are 800 or higher on all three services and I load thousands on my AMEX Serve card via other methods. But Certegy will offer nothing, no guidelines or clarification. They always say EXACTLY the same thing, DECLINED by their software programs which they cannot override, not EVER.

This complete stone walling renders check depositing IMPOSSIBLE on the otherwise excellent AMEX Serve card. AMEX will not assist you with Certegy and even with copies of my driver's license and passport, they will not deposit a single check of mine. These checks are written to myself, endorsed by me, and to be deposited into my own AMEX Serve account. The source account is linked to my AMEX Serve card! I use both a debit card and ACH with this linked account. But Certegy does not care. They are a stone wall. Don't ever expect to deposit personal check with Certegy from your AMEX Serve mobile application. A complete disappointment and a failed facility on the rather nice AMEX Serve card.

I went to Wal-mart in Clarksville, AR and at their customer service, I stop to pay a bill on my credit card with a com-check. It states on the front of the check to call a 800 number for approval. The lady said that she just took training in com-check. She ran the check thru her cash register and it came back that the check was denied. I then told the lady that the procedure is to call the 800 number to get authorization. She then called to get the authorization number and com check office gave the authorization to cash or accept the authorization number to approve the 800 check to be cashed or spent. I did not want any cash back. I wanted to pay off my walmart credit card and spend the remainder in diesel fuel. She ran the check thru the cash register again and it came back from Certegy Check Services to not cash the check and that it was not approved.

I asked to speak to her supervisor, a lady named Cathy, that did not give her last name that was as rude as rude could be. I explained to her that the check was approved thru com-check and that they had received an authorization number. They had a training manual they came out with, but they were not smart enough to understand it. So the supervisor Cathy called on another employee that would not give her name but she did say that she was a CPA bookkeeper. I would have gotten 15 cents per gallon discount on the diesel fuel. That kept me from saving $30 dollars on diesel fuel. These people were so rude I could not believe it. Not to cash a check that was approved.

For proof the check number is **. The phone number is 800-741-3030; the name on the check was Lesley **. The amount of the check was $800. When they called the 800 number, I could hear the gentleman on the phone and ask her for the check number and the express code number. After she gave him this information, he gave her an authorization number. She then ran the check thru the cash register and it came back again not to cash it. I ask for what reason and they could not tell me. They gave me a piece of paper that had a 800 number on it to Certegy. The phone number there 866-278-5478. I called the number and spoke with operator **. I ask the lady why would she deny me to cash a check that was approved from com-data. This operator said that she could not tell me over the phone but asked me a lot of questions that I answered. She said that I would received thru the mail 7-10 days the reason why?

I told her that I had several $1,000 in the bank and good credit and could not understand why. But I was going to look into. And it appears that I may sue them. I looked on the internet and I started reading the 779 complaints about this check verification company. My complaint seems to be the 780th. I had my fiancee with me as a witness and it was very embarrassing to her and myself and may have put some type of doubt In her mind. This kind of practice at Certegy has to stop.

I wrote a complaint to the ACLU and fax a copy to the store manager in AR. If it's anything you can do to punish this company I hope you will take those steps. It appears with 779 complaints, someone is not doing their job. So I will ask the governor to fire everyone in your office as a dereliction of duty. If you read all of the complaints you would understand why I just said what I did. It appears that you people are there only to collect a paycheck. I'm sorry that I have to use these types of words but after reading what I have read, it's sickening. And you people should be as ashamed as the people at Certegy. I'll close this complaint feeling like nothing will be done. But a watchdog group that is watching you will also have something to say, it appears. Thank you for your time and I pray that God will lead you in the right way and make the right decisions.

She would not give me a straight answer on why they wouldn't let the check be cashed. So I got online and went to the Certegy webpage. Of course when trying to look up my check, the website did not work. It asked for the check number but wouldn't let me put in the full number. So I called back. This time the woman spoke English. The woman I had spoke to earlier had put all the account numbers, routing numbers and check numbers in wrong. But still I am unable to cash check.

Who in their right mind would think that Apple of all companies wouldn't be able to back up a check. This is the most ridiculous situation. Certegy will not give a straight answer as to why they deny a check. The woman had the nerve to ask me where I was going to try next to cash my check. I told her anywhere Certegy is not involved. Due to their ignorance, the grocery store I attempted to use in the beginning has lost my business. Wonder if these companies using Certegy realize they will lose customers because of Certegy. Oh and nowhere on the website is there a place to send an email or to even complain.

July 2,2014 was my first time. I went to the Certegy website and used their Declined Check Lookup function and got this answer:

"Our records indicate that there is a returned check on file under your ID. We understand and apologize for any concern caused by your check not being authorized". This is incorrect information, we have not had any checks returned, and they don't specify the number of the supposed returned check. We have excellent credit, and always keep an adequate balance in our checking account. There is absolutely no reason why any of our checks should be declined. When you call them to complain, you get an automated answer that asks for personal financial account information that we are not comfortable with providing to them. After presenting a personal check for payment to Lowes in California, I was declined and given a numerical code and asked to call Certegy to find out why my payment was rejected. This code numbered 2, stated that due to myself not writing a check for several years, Certegy didn't have enough information on record to "SAFELY" give Lowes a thumbs up on accepting my check. I was on the phone with the lady from Certegy for a better half of an hour, and by the end of our conversation, I was now considered a V.I.P. MEMBER of Certegy, and although they couldn't guarantee that any of my future checks would be accepted, being a V.I.P. MEMBER " GREATLY REDUCED THE RISK OF THEM BEING DECLINED" while presenting future checks as payment. This status would be active for 21 days from the date of my 1st call to Certegy, and if I wished to continue with such status, I would need to fill out their official enrollment form and snail mail it back.

I was advised that I could return to Lowes and re-present my check and there should be no problems at all, since I sat on hold while all my info was verified.. WRONG!!!! THAT PAYMENT WAS ALSO REJECTED AND THIS TIME AS A CODE 1, PREVIOUS BOUNCED OR UNPAID CHECKS... So I again called Certegy, and was very furious and frustrated at this point in my conversation, since I just spent 40 mins clearing up (or so I thought) this fiasco. Certegy now claims that "EARLY WARNING DETECTION HAS DETERMINED THAT MY ACCOUNT COULD BE CLOSED." ALL THIS JUST MINUTES AFTER I WAS REGISTERED AS A PROUD MEMBER OF THEIR V.I.P. PROGRAM!!! How is this even remotely possible?? Ever since that 1st call, I have not been able to write a check as form of payment to any merchant including all grocery stores locally, Target, Kohls, etc. To boot, I was processed into the Telecheck system also and eventually into CHEXSYSTEMS.

Now I can't write a check on my account, but I attempted to open another savings account and was denied due to CHEXSYSTEMS' score for me. I am supposedly a MAJOR LIABILITY FOR ANY MERCHANT AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS ALL BECAUSE CERTEGY COULDN'T PROPERLY UPDATE A COMPUTER AND HAVE NOT ONLY BEEN SUPER EMBARRASSED, BUT I'M HEATED BECAUSE I CAN'T OPEN ANY MORE SAVINGS OR CHECKING ACCOUNTS FOR THE NEXT 7 YRS OR UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THESE 3 COMPANIES TO REMOVE AND UPDATE CORRECTLY. Does any body have any comments or suggestions on what I could do to change this?? Please, any and all are welcomed!!! Thanks... Sincerely, UNHAPPY PATRON!!

Heads up about Certegy Check Services, Inc. per an Aug. 15, 2013 press release at **, Certegy Check Services to Pay $3.5 Million for Alleged Violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Furnisher Rule, and in 2013 were assessed a Penalty that is Second-largest in a Fair Credit Reporting Act Matter and ordered to change their complaint, etc. Procedures which apparently doesn't sound like they did. My advice is that everyone who has had a check declined by them for no apparent or legitimate reason should contact their Congressmen mentioning the problem and the above mentioned legal action concerning this company, and file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission on their website or by calling their 877 number listed on-line in the above mentioned press release.

I filled up 08/14/13 at Murphy Oil and had no problem paying by check. Then again on 3/12/14 and 5/02/14 I filled up with gas as I have done for years at the same Murphys. Suddenly, this time on both occasions I was told they could not take my check and told me I had to contact Certegy Check Services and was provided with a printout giving Certegy's number & info they required. When I called the 800 number they could not give me a specific reason why they refused to authorize my checks for cashing. They only gave examples why they do, what they do. I have good credit and checked with my bank which looked at my account records and stated there was no reason why my check should ever be declined. I asked to be sent a report showing what is in my file which is mentioned in the printout that Murphys gives you when your check is declined.

When I received the report, it showed 6 transactions going back to 10-21-12 and listed in the following order and with dates, amounts, check numbers, client, and disposition: Dollar General, 2 different Staples, and 3 for the same Murphy Oil. All were authorized except the first Staples and the last 2 Murphy Oil. I called Certegy back and told them that the Staples Not Authorized was incorrect, because it was not declined and I have the bank statement to prove it, had it been declined it would have been voided and never have reached my bank. The person indicated she had no proof to such and couldn't pull up the report. I gave her the Control Number on the report which it says to do when calling about the report but she still claimed she couldn't access it. I told her to put a supervisor or someone who could access on. The line was put on hold and then disconnected.

Calling back, I got a different person and went through the whole thing again. He couldn't use the Control Number either and said the people that handle that are at the CPRS Self Risk section and gave me their 866 number. I called them and she determined he sent me to the wrong place because they had nothing to do with it, and their control numbers were 9 digit beginning with 2 and mine was 10 digit beginning with 1. So I called Certegy back and got yet another person and went through the whole deal again. This time I'm told basically same as the previous 2 times that he can't get the control number to bring anything up, so he is referring it to Research and they should contact me within 3 to 30 days. Well, I told him I would be looking for somewhere else to file a complaint in the meantime. Nobody seems to know what they are doing or they are being coached (because I was always put on hold several times while they conversed with supervisors) to beat around the bush and act that way.

Their whole purpose is to get your personal info including bank routing numbers and account numbers so they can empty your accounts or sell the info to someone else who will as noted elsewhere on line. They are noted as a risk management company and appear to be a subsidiary of Fidelity National Information Services. So Certegy simply wants to force people to supply them with their personal info. Remember recently in the news how financial info was sold to thieves overseas by another U.S. company, so they could steal peoples identity. They are forcing you to give up your info and still not guaranteeing, they will correct the problem.

This causes a real inconvenience for people and lets other people standing around think you bounce checks or are a deadbeat. Even if you take your business elsewhere, if they use Certegy, you will encounter the same problem. If I hadn't had a credit card or cash to pay for it, would they call the police and have me charged with theft of gas or impound my car until somebody else came along to pay for it, because they certainly wouldn't siphon it out!!! This company needs to be stopped!!! The government cracked down on them once but it didn't help and as long as people sit around and do nothing it will continue. Complain to the right people and let the government go after them, again for their failure to comply with the first civil claim. My Congressmen and the FTC are going to hear from me, you need to do the same. Do a search "Certegy reviews" and read all the other Certegy review complaints online.

I had a similar experience at an Academy Sports in 12/13. Neither my wife or I have ever presented a check which failed to clear. This time we contacted Certegy and spoke with Ann #** and after repeatedly be asked for and refusing to give the routing # and account # of the checking account (does she think I'm stupid?!!!), she finally told me that Mary Anne's check was declined because of an error in their system but we could avoid this problem by requesting VIP status which I feel certain is not free.

I then asked Ann about my problem at Academy. The store manager had told me that even though I had shopped there many times, my check was declined by Certegy because I had never written a check in that store! Ann told me that Certegy has a 'model' i.e. profile which they use to approve checks and since I seldom use checks for retail purchases, my check was declined. I suppose it’s a good thing our local Ford dealer does use Certegy because we would not have been able to buy a new F250 diesel truck this past June. That check was a little larger than the checks we had declined. In addition to writing this review I am going to file a complaint with the FTC and would encourage anyone with a similar experience with these gangsters to do the same.

Had done some subcontracting work for a company that uses PNC Bank issued payroll checks. So of course being the type of bank that PNC is & why people get cynical of banks & with PNC, rightfully so, I went to cash my check at a local PNC Bank. But since I did not have an account with PNC, I was informed there would be a $10.00 charge to cash my $120.00 check. So thinking that to be a ridiculous charge I refused & left. I do my grocery shopping at Kroger and had heard you could cash checks there & so I did with no problems. But then a couple days later I tried again with another payroll check & was refused. The customer service clerk told me she didn't know why and that I needed to call Certegy (the company that Kroger uses for this service) & they could explain why.- So I did.

Well that didn't work out so well either, to begin with I couldn't understand half of what I was being told because of our language differences which was even more frustrating, but after listening to a very long speech about nothing that could help me rectify the problem, I was told she couldn't tell me why I couldn't cash my check except that it went against their policy - I'm not sure what went against their policy - but something did - It's really frustrating that PNC wants to penalize ya for trying to cash one of their checks to begin with - maybe that's one of the reasons they have a class action lawsuit against them right now - because of the way they think banking business should be conducted - but then Krogers a Cincinnati-based company offers a service that is farmed out & regulated by a company that denies you of that service & can't even explain why, not to mention the communication breakdown & the genuine lack of interest in fixing the problem. I would also think that Krogers would be a little more pro-active in resolving glitches in services they offer. I can't help but to think that if this was their check that they needed to cash it would take on a whole different perspective - The entire experience was frustrating and a waste of gas & my time!!!

I got a reason too and I was also given a little slip of receipt paper telling me to call Certegy Check Services. I thought okay, I'll just try again in about 30 minutes or so. Went back, tried again, same thing. Why is it that the last 12-15 checks I have cashed worked EVEN WHEN THEY WERE FOLDED, WRINKLED, OR HAD BARELY LEGIBLE NUMBERS? But thanks to that happening, I have to wait until in the morning to go to a bank to get it cashed. Something has to be done with Certegy's approval system.

It was from my payroll department as reimbursement for work boots, so it's not like it was written in crayon.

I called the number for this Certegy and got a recording that told me my check was declined not because of negative information, but rather strange check cashing such as location or amount or some such crap. He was told that it had nothing to do with his checking history - which is spotless. Rather, it was due to a computer program that determined that he does not write enough checks, which makes him a risk. So it declined his check. PetSmart could have called the bank to verify funds, but deemed it not their responsibility.

How insane is it that a person without a history of writing checks cannot write checks because they do not have enough history of writing them. Now we could join their VIP program. However, the "application" allows them to contact the bank to get any and all banking information to use and keep on file, while the VIP status is only good for 13 months. If you wish to have VIP status longer, then you will have to fill out a new application. This is crazy. And don't even try to get someone on the phone. It is all automated.

Today I visited a Michael's Craft store and wrote a check for 25.33 only to have it declined. I recently had to have my debit card replaced and it hasn't arrived in the mail yet, so I have had to write checks the last two weeks which I normally would use my check card. The store told me to contact Certegy and they could tell me what the problem is. I asked if there was anyway this could be a clerk error because I was positive there was money in my account. They simply said they could not accept it. I called Certegy only to be told a canned response over and over - that my check failed "certain criteria" and they could not tell me exactly which criteria it failed. I asked what the criteria was and was told that the criteria is the check number, amount, location and history.

I went through this list with them explaining the check number can't possibly be an issue, the amount of my check is low and the location is in my hometown which leaves the history. They explained that they could see I had written two checks this month. One for 118.00 (Target) and another for 46.00 (Dept Store). They said that because I wrote a check for 25.00 that could be the reason because it's not a normal amount. I asked the rep if she heard herself talking because what she was saying made absolutely no sense at all. After about 20 min I asked for a supervisor and was told the same story. Focusing on the history piece, I asked the supervisor if history was an issue why would the check I wrote that they had on file for 118.00 not been declined. They said that different store have different requirements. I explained I was not satisfied and that I wanted to know what I had to to do to get some answers. I explained that I understand that maybe they can't give me info over the phone but could they mail me info that was specific to this situation.

I was transferred to a manager. Same thing- explained that it wasn't' about my account but just this check - and that if I would write another one I may be okay. I again told them how ridiculous this sounds. How am I to go into a store and feel confident that my next check will be accepted since I don't' even know the reason this one was rejected? This is the most ridiculous and frustrating thing I have ever encountered. I asked how they can get away with this and asked them what kind of service they are providing to companies because there was no sale made today from Michael's.

I thought it was interesting to find this article when I googled this company. They obviously have themselves in hot water and have far to go until they get their act together. I will be calling them again tomorrow when they open to request my free copy of information held in their Certgegyas File as I am entitled to - which neither of the 3 people I spoke with ever mentioned or offered after I explained I was not satisfied each time. They all repeated the same canned response and the only thing they offered was to fill out a VIP form which was explained is supposedly going to allow checks to go through and bypass some criteria checks- I explained I don't necessarily want that either because I do want the protection - I just want their policies to make sense. What if someone does steal my check book or get hold of my account info ? After reviewing this VIP form on their website I would never send it to them as it is including very personal information that I really don't want floating around. All the people I spoke with were in Asia- hard to understand , but I must say kept their cool and just continued to repeat the same thing over and over. They don't have to spend a lot of training because they all just repeat the same script over and over. How do they get away with this?

I got online and found a different number which put me straight to a customer service agent that barely spoke English. Rather than offering any solutions at all, they told me I need to go to the bank the check was written on and cash it there which is about 4 hours away from my location. During the process, they performed a credit check of myself without my approval. The Walmart service representative told me that she did not know the specifics for a reason 2 for denial. I was given a receipt and told to call Certegy to reveal the denial to cash a check. The Certegy started by say that the denial was not due to my personal credit report. Repeatedly having to give the check information I was told the refusal was due to "the issuer has an unacceptable history of writing checks and their credit history. The issuer of the $230.00 check was Delta Air Lines.

Certegy stated that they issue too many checks in an unacceptable quantity. I asked the assistant if she knew who Delta Air Lines is and I was told they did not know of the company. I was instructed that I should go to the bank the check was issued from to cash it... I was given a secondary option to purchase a prepay Walmart debit card and deposit it there. I found it hard to believe she did not know who Delta Air Lines was. The airline issues hundreds of thousands of checks each month. The amount of the check was very low in addition. In broken English, the Certegy representative continued to say that the issuer issues too many questionable checks and their credit level was unacceptable.

Do not attempt to cash checks at Walmart as they "will" run a credit inquiry not only of yourself, but the check issuer as well. They don't want to cash a check but stresses that you deposit the amount to their prepay debit card with high fees attached.

People just like me with no history of writing bad checks have the same problem. I was told that I need to sign up with their VIP program but still have no guarantee that my checks would go though. I was very embarrassed when this happened at the store that I spend a lot of money at.

There were people behind me at the store thinking I am some kind of bad check writer. I was buying clothes at Dillard's. It took 20 minutes for an override for my first check of $103.90. An hour later, at the same store, my check of $98.20 was refused. Certegy's excuse, their computer models based on normal check writing habits, amount, check series, and the transaction flagged it. I have excellent credit for 50 years, well over the total amount in my checking account, no bad checks in 50 years, BUT I carry an IDENTIFICATION card WITH my photo. BUT it is not a driver's license. That is discrimination. They have no valid reason to refuse my check. Their model is assuming that someone who can not drive, i.e., disabled/elderly, is too broke to cover checks at a nice clothing store. That is discrimination. I have purchased clothing at that specific store since 2005 and probably earlier, BUT I have not in the past six months. I pay my bills, I have money, but I CAN NOT WRITE A CHECK.

I preferred to pay by check than pay interest on a credit card, and for that I get humiliated. I TRIED calling them and was hung up on twice at the time. The sales associate tried calling and was hung up on twice. I left the store crying. This morning (9/17/13), I tried their website; it failed. It took me four tries this morning, before I could get through to a person. His excuses were above and he could not give me a valid reason for their refusal. Nor did he offer to give me a copy of the transaction report. I tried the website yet again and this time was able to get the information he told me, but NOT the transaction report. That took yet, two more calls before I could get through to a person. She said they would send me the transaction report. Since I don't write a lot of checks EXCEPT when I shop on my own, this curtails my freedom and independence. I resent not being able to use MY money. It is hard enough to get to the shopping malls, without being faced with unable to buy what you are needing.

If you don't believe in your own cashing agents, then why use them. Every time I go each month, there is a new excuse why they couldn't cash it. I have all the info that they ask for. This is inexcusable!!! I want my money when I get the money order. I am thinking of going to our TV station and see if they would like to do a story about this. I know a lot of people who go through this would like to know why they get that little piece of paper with reason # 2 and to call 866-278-5478. You get another excuse there and still can cash it. Went into Walmart to cash a certified check drawn on Pacific Trust Bank. They would not accept it. No reason given. I was given a receipt with a denial code of "2". I called the number on the ticket and they said it was not denied because of anything I did, but that the check may be fraudulent. It was given to me by my employer. It was a "Certified Check", not a payroll check, not a personal check, but a guaranteed, certified funds check. I asked what was the exact reason and they couldn't give me one because the information is proprietary and giving that out could allow bad check writers to circumvent their system. BS! I chose not to have a bank account so I couldn't just deposit it. So I ended up going to Fashion Island in Newport Beach to a Pacific Trust branch and cashed it there. Hey Walmart, hey Certegy, KMA!

I wrote the check for cash back, and it was declined. I had the funds in my account, and I was so embarrassed. They said it was because my old debit card was linked to the checking acct. So I told them I guess I can never shop at their store again, since I should not be required to cancel my checking acct. Then they began to accuse me of trying to write a check on a closed acct. I said I would never do that, and now terribly offended. The bank assured me the next day that the acct. was not closed, and Certegy would have to give an explanation.

I received a call from Certegy stating that it was due to some proprietary set of circumstances and their regulations, which they could not disclose the details, were the cause of the check. Not because of credit or anything that I did, but their set of proprietary guidelines. Be warned everyone, this too could happen to you if the moon is just right, and the wind blows in a certain direction or maybe you use the wrong color ink on your checks.

Because I have my own checking account affiliated with my driver's license, and need to show this same driver license when using the guardianship account, the check I wrote out for the monitor was declined. Of course I had no idea why and the cashier couldn't help. The people standing behind me in line were looking at me like I was some piece of white trash. I immediately went home and searched the Certegy website, which is the company that provides Target with the information to decline a check, and was told that the pattern of past check writing from my driver's license didn't match with the check written today. Of course it didn't. I'm a guardian and will need to write out checks for the person who needs personal items purchased for him from his account, too. Needless to say, I will no longer be shopping at Target, for me or my ward. I don't get paid for being a guardian and need to do the shopping for my ward on my own time. This is when I found out it was Certegy that has all this power. Contacted Certegy, they basically said they noted a check cashing pattern for me and I am now banned from cashing checks anywhere that uses Certegy.

Really? This company is based in the Philippines (difficult to understand customer service reps). Shy from Certegy says I need to now get a bank account in order to cash checks. Today I spent over an hour trying numerous times to use the mobile app to deposit checks to my Bluebird account, and it always declines the same. I got an email from Certegy that told me all sorts of phony baloney stuff, and told me if I was declined I could order a personal report and obtain personal VIP status with their company. I'm like **? I'm doing business with Amex/Bluebird not these jokers. I contacted Certegy and ended up with a supervisor who told me that they only handled commercial checks like paychecks and business checks, since the check I tried to deposit was personal he could not answer my questions and referred me to Amex/Bluebird. So I called Amex/Bluebird.

Got on the phone with an operator there, she put me on hold for 15 minutes and then some dude answered. He's in India. He started asking me all sorts of personal information, never identifying himself as working for Certegy. When I told him I already gave this information earlier to the operator he finally told me he was with Certegy so I was trick-** into giving some personal info. When he asked for my SSN and bank and checking account number at my bank I cut him off and learned he was with Certegy. We got into it but good. Then he told me he couldn't tell me anything until after I gave him verifiable personal ID info, including DOB, SSN, personal checking info including routing and checking account number, and then he would check and see why the personal check WRITTEN TO ME was declined for deposit through Bluebird's mobile app.

When I told him I would not give him my vitals, he was rude (as I was too -- treat me like an animal you get the same in return) and we ended our chat with mutual **. I called Amex/Bluebird and this time they accused me of not doing it right. So I made the rep sit online while I went through this step-by-step and she could see it happen in real time. Nope. I didn't do anything wrong. The App was working and still got declined. She couldn't answer and referred me back to Certegy which I respectfully declined since I don't do business with them, and Amex/Bluebird has the obligation to investigate what's going on.

While on line, I tried different phones to do this over again and much to our mutual chagrin, they could not process the check as it was declined each and EVERY TIME with the same **. When you do contacting Certegy, it's the same impossible-to-navigate automated phone menu. It's the same script. They don't deviate. It's dehumanizing and frankly a big fat run-around. Their "supervisors" are really just little drones working for the company that don't change one iota. Same script, different person, who is like 5000 miles away. The bottom line is, the mobile app on the Bluebird card is useless because everything has to go through Certegy before the funds make it to Bluebird.

After further inquiry, Certegy practically declines all personal checks and most small business checks, so they don't have to take a loss on a bad check. This renders the Check Deposit feature on the Bluebird Card useless. I asked Amex/Bluebird to just tell me outright that I cannot use that feature and not to count on it. Of course they wouldn't say it, but you could tell they knew it. The pregnant pause on the phone told the whole story.

I'm going to cash this check at the bank directly. The point being, if Amex wants to bill their card as an alternative to the traditional checking or savings account, Amex and Wal-Mart's Bluebird card will remain virtually useless as anything more than a reloadable debit card, and will continue to be useless except as a reloadable debit card until they fire Certegy and set up their own processing department.

Quite frankly American Express owns its own National Bank, it is quite proficient and expert at processing mobile app deposits. I am shocked that they let Wal-Mart bamboozle them into using this rinky-dink, offshore goon-squad friggin outsourced to India company called Certegy. I might also add, in my discussions with operators at Amex/Buebird, that they have admitted that the business is outsourced to their phone center to Canada. So all the operators I spoke to were Canadians at Amex/Bluebird. Sickens me. We have so much unemployment in this country and these jerks send vital employment overseas and across borders.

So it's a double insult to all Americans that they are giving their hard-earned money, and their business, to a company that refuses to hire REAL AMERICANS to service AMERICANS in AMERICA! How un-American is American Express? Well there you have it. It means Amex is sending our dollars elsewhere instead of spending money in the United States and making work for Americans. I am so angry I need a drink.. and I quit drinking over 20 years ago!

Aloha From Hawaii! Thank you all for posting your experiences. It is people like all of you that force corporations to maintain some level of legitimacy. Could you imagine how much worse off all of us would be without you speaking up? How much more they would be abusing us? Keep up the good work OF reporting! Get those dirty little secrets out in the open! And for these clowns, WRITE YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REP and report what this company is doing! DEMAND banks and companies like these be investigated.

So I see 350 complaints already; guess ours will be 351. Here is what happened to us today: We, www.HawaiianHope.org (a nonprofit organization), have our CORPORATE account with Go Daddy for buying domain names. Actually, we have multiple accounts with Go Daddy, and have had some of these accounts for seven years now. All of this time, our CORPORATE bank account has been tied directly to the purchasing of domain names. We do not have to write a check, as it is an online ACH (auto draft) transaction.

Today, one of our clients' domain names expired and we went to renew it. As before, we selected "checking" as a payment method, verified the TOTAL purchase as $14.57 (under $15), and hit submit. Instantly, and I mean instantly - less than two seconds - we received a message on the screen, "limit exceeded", with NO additional information on how to resolve the issue.

First, it is impossible to contact our bank and to verify funds that fast. Again, this is a CORPORATE bank account for a <$15 transaction. I attempted the transaction multiple times, as I figured it was some glitch. Finally, I called Go Daddy and the very nice and polite rep apologized repeatedly, but could not override the system. He gave me the phone number for Certegy and wished me "good luck".

Hence, the FUN begins. That was at 10:20 in the morning. I had to call Certegy eight times in a row, as their pathetic voice recognition/voice response phone system would greet me, get about three sentences off, and then respond to all of the background noise around me. It would randomly jump around from message to message, and then hang up on me. It did this seven times in a row. Finally, at roughly 11:15 am, I got an actual human on the phone. One hour.

The person on the phone asked what I was calling about, and I explained that we needed to get "permission from them to spend our own money" as "our payment was declined". She asked me for the check number. I explained "there is no check number, this is for an online transaction using ACH". Her response was "We don't handle those." I asked her if she knows who Go Daddy was; she said, "Yes, they are one of our accounts." I explained that I was purchasing domain names with our CORPORATE (yes, stressing and exaggerating the word each time I said it) bank account, and that the great people at Go Daddy told me that Certegy denied the transaction.

She immediately asked me for my personal driver's license number. I told her "you do not need that". She insisted that the only way to look up the information was through my driver's license number. I then very deliberately explained "my PERSONAL driver's license number has NOTHING to do with our company's CORPORATE bank account information for an ONLINE automated draft transaction." The woman again explained that that is how they look up information. I again very clearly explained, "it will be IMPOSSIBLE for you to look up ANY information based on my PERSONAL driver's license number because NO ONE has that information. I NEVER give out my PERSONAL driver's license number for our company's CORPORATE banking account. WHY would I, as an employee of a COMPANY, use my PERSONAL driver's license number to validate a company's CORPORATE bank account funds?"

The person I was talking to on the phone was thoroughly confused and flustered and had no idea how to handle the call. She was "off script"; the only thing she could do was to repeat over and over what the company brainwashed her to say. She attempted to extract all types of personal and confidential information from me, about ME: my home address, my birth date, as well as other personal information. It appears they are doing data mining and gathering as much information about people as possible. At NO POINT yet did she ask for our bank account information in order to verify funds. I swear that I repeated the same sentence to her about 12 times, that "my PERSONAL driver's license number and other PERSONAL information has NOTHING to do with our company's CORPORATE bank account information for an ONLINE transaction."

After about 45 minutes of going in circles, she finally transferred me over to her supervisor. As she was hanging up, I told the woman on the phone that she was very polite to me and courteous, but she should go and apply for a job with a legitimate company. She thanked me, two times. And wished me a good day.

The Supervisor tried the same junk, but quickly determined that I was not falling for their crap. I told him the same exact thing, that "my PERSONAL driver's license number and other PERSONAL information has NOTHING to do with our company's CORPORATE bank account information for an ONLINE transaction, for an account that we have had for seven YEARS." After another 15 minutes, he stated that he put me on the "VIP list" and that "that should allow you to make purchases for 21 days."

Oh, that was it for me. I took the opportunity to explain to him, "This two hours on the phone so far is for a transaction that is LESS than $15, for a company that we have done business with for OVER SEVEN YEARS. I will absolutely not be held hostage to a third party company that I have never heard of before today, that I do not have any business agreement with, that I don't care about, and that I do not want to ever hear of again. YOU will NOT hold our CORPORATE banking account hostage. If you EVER refuse one of our transactions, I will CANCEL our account with that company as a penalty to them for doing business with you, contact their management, and explain that clearly, and I will move all of our accounts to a different company. I do not care if I have to pay more, but you will not have any authority over OUR ability to spend OUR own money. I REFUSE to seek permission from YOU to spend OUR money."

The man on the phone assured me that everything was OK now. It is now almost 1:30 PM. Yeah...big fat LIE! I went back to Go Daddy and the transaction failed again another five times over the next two hours. Tomorrow morning, I will contact the Go Daddy Board of Directors.

Update: At 11:30 PM, the transaction was approved. I am still contacting the Go Daddy Board and explaining to them my aggravation. Go Daddy boasts that they have over 55 million registered domain names. Imagine if only 1% of those transaction have problems like we did with this company, Certegy, that is close to 600,000 customers not able to process their payments properly. Unacceptable!

I work for a casino that uses Certegy as its vendor and for all of you having problems with them, I will fill you in as much as I am legally able to... MANY, MANY, MANY vendors use Certegy as their check verification system. (As some have already said, we cannot disclose what all businesses do use them...) They have a cap on the total dollar amount they will cash from any given company (as payroll checks). It doesn't matter if it is one person cashing or multiple persons, one location or many locations. They will only approve x amount per company. (Technically, I guess I should specify it would be per business account, not per company itself.) If you are trying a personal check and get a code 2 - believe me, it IS for your protection. If you are not able to get through to them, ask the person you are dealing with or a manager to make a call for you and they MAY be able to clear the situation for you.

No guarantees, but I know that I have been able to assist some of our guests... it’s all about customer service and calling the right people! For the person asking about the agreement she signed at the casino - I will give you a recap of what that says. (Although it SHOULD be printed on the receipt you were given... it is on ours!) It simply says that the funds will be withdrawn electronically from your account. If the funds are not there, you will be charged $ for a returned check fee. IF you supply your social security number, it will do a SOFT check on your credit (it will NOT affect your credit score in any way). You also asked if you could revoke this or close your account, or if it would affect you at other business that use Certegy. It will NOT affect any other businesses if you revoke the ability to do this at the casino. It will simply stop you from being allowed to do it at that location again (unless you reenroll to do this). Hopefully this is some clarification for some of you at least...

When we got home, I looked up telephone numbers online and called a person who works for Certegy. I was asked for personal financial information (checking account number and routing) and for my driver’s license number. I refused to give this information to Certegy, but did give them the check number, location of purchase, and the amount the purchase was for. I was informed that without giving them my checking account number and routing, there was nothing they could do for me and thanks for calling.

I have never bounced a check, and I have more than enough money in my checking account to cover the funds we wrote the check for. We even called our bank so the checker at Big 5 could listen to the amount of available funds in our checking account. Why would I be denied the use of my checking account when there is no history of bouncing checks, and more than enough funds to cover the amount? Certegy is sure not going to tell me. I went to both my banks like they told me to because they said my accounts had been frozen. I found out at the banks that they don't freeze accounts. I called from one of the banks to Certegy and was told to hold several times. I had taken my granddaughter to work; it was 1:00 p.m. then went to Kroger. I spent 4 1/2 hours on the phone and I had talked to 3 different people that didn't seem to know what to do and then an Indian guy who after 23 min. hung up on me.

The bank said it was nothing on their part, to go back to Kroger. In the meantime, my groceries that I had put on my emergency Visa card were in the trunk of my car. I called my husband to come and get the groceries. The nice lady (Dot) at customer service called Certegy and was with them about 1 1/2 hours on hold between you all taking numbers down. They finally said it was a glitch in the system... I was cleared there.

I went home. The next day, 6-25-13, I went to my bank to make sure everything was okay through them. April took the reins and called you all for me because I was so torn up and she, being from a bank, got a "little" faster help. April talked finally to a Heather. Numbers from my checks and I.D. 3's on my driver's license didn't match what they had for the check that had been really turned down. You all finally put me on a V.I.P. status??? I carry my checks with me, luckily I thought, because I live about 15 minutes away. My check was declined by Certegy check services. I thought it was a mistake. The young lady tried to put it through again and it was declined again. I was so embarrassed! My son was in the parking lot, so he came in and used his debit card. The automated answer I got for the decline was because I didn't usually write checks, in essence. It had nothing to do with my credit history, bank account balance or check cashing history! It simply wasn't something I normally did. Are you kidding me?

It then took me several hours to finally get someone to answer on the customer service number. I was told she couldn't help me because her screen was down and she couldn't look at my Certegy UID. I was disconnected. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? These people are unprofessional and ignorant when it comes to customer service. Their 800 number tries repeatedly to get you to "press this" to have your questions answered. If you feel you should be heard as I did and endure the maze of the automated red tape, they just hang up on you. These people are embarrassing hardworking folks who don't deserve it. Shame on them! I've read many, many, many complaints online - all the same as mine. Something should be done.

I use the same Wal-Mart Money Center every two weeks at the same time and with the same woman working behind the counter to deposit my check on my money card. Suddenly today, I was not allowed to deposit my check. After being told to call Certegy via a USELESS automated phone system (obviously designed to deter people from figuring out how to talk to a real person), I was told that for reasons only the "computer system" knows that I would not be allowed to deposit my check at that store or any place else using Certegy. I talked to three people; the first hung up on me and all three just kept repeating that they could not tell me why I wasn't allowed to deposit my check for "proprietary reasons".

I am the only wage earner in my house, so getting my check into my account is crucial for us to friggin' eat on Fridays. The last person I talked to said he was a supervisor, only repeated the same few sentences over and over, would not give me a straight answer on anything, and when asked who else I could talk to, said, and I'm paraphrasing here, that the computer system is inaccessible by anyone and he had no superior. When trying to avoid another Certegy check cashing location by using their location locator on their website, I was delighted to discover that said location locator does not work in any web browser. I have no idea what to do, very little gas to drive around and my family is hungry. Needless to say, I will no longer be using Wal-Mart as my "bank".

No one wishes to talk to a machine and to give important information. You must know I have shopped at Wal-mart from the time they have opened (maybe this was my mistake to shop there today). I have tried different phones and iPads to process check to no avail - it's always declined. I have tried my wife's payroll check but also got declined. I had my company issue to me a computer-printed and computer-signed check (because a Walmart personnel told me the check can't be had written), and still the check was declined at Walmart and through the mobile app because of Certegy.

In contacting Certegy, they give you their company line mumbo-jumbo about security, but the bottom line is, the mobile app and the Bluebird card are useless because everything has to go through Certegy before the funds make it to Bluebird. Certegy then declines everything, so they don't have to take a loss on a bad check, basically rendering the card useless. Yes, I know, I can go to the issuing bank and pay $15.00 to cash the check, as well as paying the exorbitant fee at a cash checking store, or I can open a bank account. But if I wanted to go to any of those routes, I wouldn't have secured the Bluebird card in the first place. The point being, Bluebird card is useless and will continue to be useless until they stop using Certegy.

I have cashed checks bigger than the one presented today. The only way to get companies to stop using Certegy is to complain to the merchants' HQs. I had the same problem a month ago and complained to Walmart corporate customer service. Walmart's customer service called me a couple days later to tell me that I was now "VIP gold member" with Certegy. That means nothing as you're still subject to the same check writing guidelines.

You can't possibly stop doing business with companies that use Certegy. They're just too big. You must complain to the merchant's corporate customer service department. I also mentioned to Walmart corporate that they have a company representing them in a manner that is not conducive to good business practices. I beg every person who has had a problem with Certegy to take their complaint to the corporate customer service. Calling Certegy will get you nowhere fast, and frustrated.

I found I was short of money prior to the lunch/gambling, so I asked at the cage if I could cash a check for $150. The gal at the cage said, "Let's do it this way" and had me give her my DL and a blank check. She said that way, I could just show my DL if I needed cash again at the casino (not hardly, but I do go there sometimes). Darn, I knew I shouldn't have. She put me into the system and had me sign a form to get my money. The form turned out to be a receipt from Certegy authorizing them to be able to credit/debit that particular account there and at any other Certegy client (whoever they may be)!

I must say there was no full disclosure or explanation. I thought it would just be for this transaction at Gold Country Casino and would be convenient at any other time I might have gone to the casino. I'm so stupid! The receipt said I could revoke the authorization, but now I wonder if that would screw this checking account and they'd deny any and all checks from it. What in ** do I do now? Revoke the authorization? Close the account and open a new one? I shop and write checks at Walmart each week. What if the info the gal at Gold Country put in had an error in it (like my phone number. It was so noisy she was having trouble hearing me and had to ask me three times)? I'm scared now that I've gotten myself into this by not paying close enough attention. I plan to ask for a report to make sure things are OK on the basic info end. Help!

I have a new account after not having a checking account for years, and my first two checks were written at the local HEB grocery store (which pretty much has a near monopoly in my area) and were accepted with no incident. However, I have attempted to present 3 other checks at a different store, and they were all declined. When I checked with the online inquiry system at Certegy, I received a response that was so darn confusing - stating that my check was not declined due to any negative check writing, but that it matched a pattern of sorts that suggested something was wrong. I have several thousand dollars in my account, so beats me why they would decline such a thing! Since this is a new account, I have not yet received my debit card so I am at the mercy of writing checks!

After looking at the reviews and complaints here, the only conclusion I can come to is someone is making money by declining these transactions - at the expense of the innocent consumer. I agree that merchants should have the ability to weed out potential losses, but at the expense of lost customers, it doesn't make sense. It would behoove merchants to go with a direct electronic check process wherein the check is presented to the bank instantly much the way a debit card transaction is carried out - this would put Certegy out of business, but so what, they have zero customer service. I attempted to call and was caught up in the automated loop so long that I gave up. I just wanted to talk to a person. Today, I had to write a check from an account knowing there was no question about whether there was enough in the account to cover the purchase. It was an urgent purchase as I could not work without the item I was purchasing and I was trying to get back as quickly as I could. Imagine my surprise (and embarrassment) when the check was declined. But the surprise didn't end there - it had nothing to do with the amount of money in my account!

After a very lengthy phone ordeal between the salesman and the check approval company, Certegy, which ended with the news of the decline on my check, they gave him a number for me to call to find out why the check was declined. Here is what I was told: "We understand and apologize for any concern caused by your check not being authorized. Certegy carefully analyzes patterns of check writing activity designed to protect consumers as well as our merchants from fraud, identity theft and unauthorized usage. While the majority of check authorization requests result in approval, there are occasions when a valid check matches these patterns, resulting in a decline. This decline was not a result of any negative check writing information, but as a preventative measure. These situations are rare and should not affect the authorization of your checks in the future. Please be assured, this has been conveyed to the merchant." The message ended with a statement that this was all the information they could provide.

Say what? So now, we are at the mercy of some computer program's speculation instead of the facts of adequate funds and my clear ability to properly identify myself? Not only that, but the salesman was required to relay my sensitive personal information over the phone (bank account routing number, account number, full date of birth, driver's license number, etc.). Thankfully, I had other means of making that purchase, but what if it had been an emergency and I didn't have another way to pay? I have never heard of such a thing! I had written a check at that location two weeks ago and one at another location three days ago with no problem. Having shopped there for over 20 years with no prior issues and plenty of money in my account, I was surprised today to find that my check was declined. I was given an 800 number for Certegy, as the store had no information on why the check was declined. I called and got a recorded message saying I had a returned check on file, and that no other information was available. I tried to reach a live person but was hung up on by the system. I drove back to HEB and requested they give me some other option to reach this company. I was given another 800 number. I got the same recording and still with no way of reaching a live person.

I finally got on their website, obtained an 866 number and spoke to someone who was hard to understand. I was told that my driver’s license number had been applied to someone else's account (which must have had an issue), and that they would remove the block on my account in 2-3 days. I received a tracking number and will have to call back to verify that my account has been cleared. In the meantime, I will obviously have to check my credit report to see if this negatively impacted it. For those who live in Texas, note that HEB stores are now converting over from Telecheck to Certegy as their vendor for checking transactions. Based on the number of complaints I see against Certegy, I'll probably have to start shopping elsewhere. Too bad HEB chose to go with them. Maybe they were the lowest bidder.

I have a Money Network account, where if you need to withdraw over $400, you must use a Money Network Check. For Money Network Checks, you must fill in an issuer number and a transaction number. I have always gone to Walmart to cash my checks, as it is free, and they know how to verify the check. I have done this consistently for the last year. Today, I had to pay rent by 9:00 a.m. I used my Money Network Check, went to the Walmart I almost always use, and Certegy refused to cash my check.

I asked the teller what to do. She said to call the number at the bottom of the receipt. I called the number, and there was no answer. It indicated it was "transferring my call", and then disconnected. This happened greater than five times. I went to the website that the message on the phone indicated, and I keep getting "internal server" error. I cannot cash my check, and I cannot contact Certegy. It is now 8:58 a.m. I have missed work, and now I have to talk to my landlord to plead my case for not being evicted. I have contacted Money Network, and from their end, my check has been validated, and is fine.
