I have been dealing with fraudulent charges on one of my accounts for the past 2 months. A month ago I was told and still have the emails that the dispute has been closed and I could go ahead and close the account it dealt with. I get a letter in the mail at the beginning of July the fraudulent case they did was denied (which is total crap because I wasn't in town when my car was used) and they re withdrew funds from my two open accounts that had nothing to do with the account the fraud charges were on. They lied to me in June and the fraud charges were $900. If they were still investigating the fraud charges they should have froze the account they were on. They have told me so many different stories on why and how their disputes work. I would tell anyone who uses Arvest not to. I have never had this much problem with a bank.

My truck has been totalled and was paid out by another ins company and still Arvest won't return 6 months premiums. Usaa even kept drafting when I did not renew and told them they were fired. Arvest would not help get it stopped. I AM A VET THAT JUST TOOK STELLATE GANGLION BLOCKS TO DEAL WITH ANXIETY AND MY BANK GAVE 2 ** WHEN I pleaded with them. Been a customer of Arvest more than 10 years. Left a job recently that I had been at for 8 years, as part of my resignation they sent me a third party check for my final pay. Deposited the check into my Arvest account and a week later the funds were taken back out as the check was returned to payee. I was charged an $8.00 fee for this. To remedy the issue my employer sent a wire transfer to my account for the full amount of the check, Arvest charged me $10 for an incoming wire transfer. Called customer service to see about getting the fees refunded since none of it was my fault and they said no, since the fee schedule is posted they can't do anything about it. In reality, they could have easily waived the fees but chose not to. I guess Arvest needs the $18 more than I do. Shopping for a new bank immediately.

Friday, March 25, 2022, my checking account was hacked. It had been hacked March 18th, also, by the same hacker as March 25th. I disputed that debit and the money was put back into my account. Mind you, wouldn't you think that if I was hacked by the same person that Arvest would know not to let that same person hack me again, a week later -- 5 times in one day, totalling $2,100+? Arvest should have measures in place so an entity cannot re-hack an account, much less 5 times in a row -- on the same day!

Worst bank in the area! Used to be great! But have completely lost sight of customer service. From getting rid of deposit slips, making it a nightmare for customers to handle their bookkeeping. Extremely difficult to work with on mortgage and in-house loans. Complete apathy for working to improve a situation or help their customers. They have great employees and loan officers on the ground floor, but their hands are tied with corporate policies that are completely out of touch with their clients. They've lost all of my accounts and I'll never do a loan with them again. And, as a Realtor, will strongly discourage my clients from using them.

I have been banking with Arvest since 2001 and have now decided that I will go to a new Bank!!! I recently filed a dispute against the phone service provider (Straight Talk) about a charge that I did not give consent for and I just got the results of that dispute today and found that Arvest completely ignored the information I provided to them to rule in my favor and that I even contacted the phone service and they told me that I should dispute as the transaction was fraudulent as far as they could tell.
Now one would think it would be in my favor especially when the company you are disputing is on your side. This is BY not the first time I have had this happen to me dealing with this bank I have had a few and all should have been in my favor even having those on my side as well. So now after 20 years I am breaking up with this bank. I have even tried to get them to loan me small amounts over those years for new projects on my home or even car loans but no they could care less about their customers and found that going to other banks turned out to be the best options for me as they all have given loans or credit cards so I will be saying GOOD BYE ARVEST!!!!

Generally speaking I like the hours at my bank. And the people are great. The Mobile App works very well. But it seems to me their direct deposit is ridiculously slow. They say funds are available when they receive them. But I highly doubt it. I have had funds issued on Nov. 15th and it is now Nov. 19th and no deposit. This happens every payday. It’s at least 3 days and sometimes 4. I think snail mail would be quicker! Co-workers who use other banks always get their paycheck deposited before mine. It gets rather frustrating.

I have had a personal bank account with Arvest for three years and have never had issues with them until I opened a business account. The day I opened the account, I gave them a check for $15k. One day later Arvest mails me a letter stating they are closing down my account in 30-days. Not only did they shut down my business account but they also shut down my personal account. The reason as stated in the letter, "We have determined this relationship is no longer mutually beneficial, and we ask that you not make any future attempt to open an account with Arvest Bank."
I called customer service to investigate, and was told that they could not investigate, that the case is closed. When I inquired about speaking with someone higher up the chain of the command, I was told that it would not be possible. Just like that, no explanation, and no way to appeal. What a helpless feeling knowing that these people have that much power. So many questions that are now left unanswered. Sad. Confused. Stressed.

Insulted when applied for small vehicle loan, offered 30% of value. All loan payments made perfectly on time over minimum of last 5 + years. Bank next door approved full loan in 30 minutes at same rates. Bottom line is no loyalty to large account holding business customers. Sad that you cannot get true Customer service from this local bank that knows me. Have better luck with online banks that don't know me at all, or just the bank next door. I STRONGLY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BANK.

Arvest staff for some reason are of the most unhelpful bank personnel around. They seem to believe they are doing you a huge favor giving you your money you entrust them with. I have banked there for several plus years and each year they get worse. Tried to get a copy of a document notarized the other day of which they notarized the original two days prior. Wouldn't do it - said it was against policy. I need to go to a notary. I go down the road to a different bank. No problem.
Did a wire transfer this week and the money doesn't show up. So I go to the branch in Van Buren AR to see what's up. They tell me they had a question for the sending bank and hadn't heard back. I asked what would happen if I didn't come looking for my money. They stated nothing they guess. No phone call no email. Nothing. So I call the sending bank - a real bank and they state they answered the question two days ago and the money was already with Arvest for 4 days.
So I call head office of Arvest in Fayetteville. I'm told to speak to the fraud dept since there is a problem. The call starts at 9:15 and I begin to hold... finally I am told the person who needs to speak to me is a Ms Gillian and will need to hold. 45 minutes later Gillian comes on the phone and begins to give me the third degree asking all sorts of questions. Where does the money come from, what is it for, how much is it, who does it belong to, why was it sent, what is the purpose and on and on. I ask for her last name since I sense a review will be eminent, but she tells me she needn't give me that, it's not required. I am here to answer questions. All the question which have nothing to do with the bank. I ask what the problem is. Can't give me one.
She says I will receive an email when they release the money. They have no cause to hold my money for any reason and now it just for spite. If you argue with them they list you in their subnotes for other colleagues so all can give you a hard time - because how dare you stand up for yourself. I have never been overdrawn or had a single item returned in 7 years. I have no finance with them or owe them a penny. They hold my my money. Not I theirs. Yet I must be treated like a villain by them.
Last year I closed 4 accounts with them for being equally useless. Beware doing business with this bank. They do not value customers at all. Their motto should simply be easy come easy go as far as customers are concerned. And to crown it all they lie left right and center. Be sure to record them as they record us. You never know where you might post the interesting recordings. Mine will be going on Youtube! At the writing of this review still they haven't completed my transaction which is also my last major transaction with them. Advice. They are good as a little "piggy bank" account holder - that's all. Work with a real bank not these clowns.

I have had problems with Arvest Bank for years. 3 years ago I wanted to open a secured credit card with a bank. I went to Bank OZK and Arvest. Bank OZK's process was easy and completely online. Within one week I was approved for a $800 secured credit account. At the same time I went to a physical Arvest location to talk to someone. The person I talked to had no idea what I was talking about and confused me into opening a $600 CD, and calling that a secure credit card. While I have been able to use it like a credit card and it accrues interest like a CD, I have been told multiple times that because it is a CD and not a regular credit card, I can only close the account during a one-week period, even if I had a $0.00 balance the other 51 weeks.
Most recently, charges were VERY slow to post to my account and I unknowingly went negative on my checking account. Arvest charged me $51 in overdraft fees, and when I contacted customer service they were very combative when I explained the situation. They tried to dismiss the whole thing and say, "oh, but we provide better overdraft fees than most 'local' banks." I informed that I would like to cancel my service and switch to a no-fee bank (Chime). The associate said in a snarky tone that no such bank existed and she had never heard of a no-fee bank. When I informed her that Chime, Capital One 360, and others provide no-fee services she dismissed them saying, "hmm, never heard of them." I have learned my lesson and will be switching my checking account to Chime and just doing my best to close out my CD account as soon as I can. Wish me luck.

I tired to close my checking account, as I work out of town and a bank that I can't use 100% without going into a branch, does not work for me. So I called. I had a $0.01 balance in my savings account and a $0.54 balance in my checking account. I was told I had to drive 6 hours home and do it in person. I then tried to get someone from their customer service line to help me. No luck. In fact, I was talked to like I was a brainless 2 year old child. I was told if my bank balance was zero, the account would be closed. So I jumped through horrid hoops online to get it to a zero balance.
When I did I called back and was told that I had to come in and do it in person. When I expressed my displeasure and got upset they started screaming unprofessionally. I switched banks and not only can I do everything 100% online, but they gave me a loan when Arvest refused. Arvest is owned by the Wal-Mart Family and their customer service reflects that of Wal-Mart.

This review has nothing to do with actual bank locations, the people there are always great to deal with. I travel for work and stay in hotels most of the year. On Sunday when the hotel charge went through I noticed it overdrafted my account. I instantly transferred $500 from Venmo and my account went positive $128 ON SUNDAY. Monday still shows the same $128 balance. Tuesday the account is negative $82, why you ask? Because even though the Venmo payment was on my account Sunday they put every transaction that happened after the Venmo transfer on before it and hit me with 8 NSF Charges totally $134....Good job Arvest, as soon as I'm back home I will be closing my account and finding a better bank. Don't bank with Arvest. If you ever leave Arkansas, you should get an account with a national bank. Arvest has little presence in the country and if you encounter a problem while traveling, or need funds wired, they are of little help. I schedule a wire transfer over a week ago and the money has still yet to hit my other account. The money has been taken out by Arvest, it is no longer in my account, but they can't tell me when it will be in the other account. Unbelievable.

Arvest appealed to me with a direct mail flyer that dangled an interest rate of 5.9 percent, but when I called the bank's toll-free number to apply, I was told I didn't qualify for that rate. Nonetheless, the sales rep convinced me on the phone that my $13,000 loan would be paid off in 5 years. After 2 years, I had barely made a dent in the principal because more than half of my $297 monthly payment was going toward interest (the rate Arvest actually gave me was 15.99%). As soon as I could, I called Arvest and, thanks to a withdrawal from my IRA, paid off the balance (which was still over $11,000) by phone.
A few days later, Arvest erroneously debited my checking account for $297. I called to demand a refund—having been informed by the bank on the phone, days earlier, that the loan was paid in full—and the CS rep apologized and said a check for $297 would be issued in two weeks. When, over a month after my complaint, I finally received a check, it was for $151, not $297. Another phone call yielded the explanation that the two CS reps I had spoken with earlier had forgotten to factor in interest when they quoted my loan balance.
So Arvest just reached into my bank account and took it (and then some). I should not have signed up for this loan, nor should I have dealt with this bank on any level. I should have put the phone down the minute I realized the offer Arvest was making did not match the one it described in its mailing, not even close. And I should never have given Arvest--a bank I had never heard of--access to my checking account.

I created my account and later went in to make my deposit and get my card. I made my deposit and waited for the designated debit card lady. She came up and informed me that she couldn't print the card because the account was too new. I really needed this card and chose this bank because of that convenience. So I asked for my money back and they first told me the couldn't do it...and then did it. I just politely said I had changed my mind and was going with another option. Assuming this would close the account. It didn't. I received a letter in the mail that my account (that I didn't know I had nor wanted) was changing to a not free account and I'd be charged fees.
I then called to close this crazy persistent account and now I owe 3 dollars. They won't courtesy refund that fee either. Now I'm told I can't close the account without paying this ignorant 3 dollar fee and I also can't do it over the phone. Bonus! Anyways I go to log in to this website and they don't even have a transfer service. I'm not going to be anywhere near a branch (I'm in NC) for months. So now I have to use PayPal to put 3 ridiculous dollars into this ridiculous business using PAYPAL which will surely take a week and a half. It has been a constant battle between the Social Security office that is attempting to assist her and Arvest that is doing all that they can not to help.
When we go to talk to someone other to a teller about the situation in order to maintain some sort of privacy and dignity for my mother, a teller helps us regardless and cites regulations that they are unable to help in any way. They won't call Social Security, they won't talk privately in an office. They show no compassion whatsoever. I have banked there for almost 25 years myself and my parents for many years prior to that. If this ever gets straightened out we will move all 5 of our accounts to a consumer friendly atmosphere.

Disappointing customer service. I typically wait 9-10 minutes for a real person to get on the phone. They did away with being able to transfer money online between personal and business accounts. They now charge $3 per transfer on the phone. They sequence transactions so that withdrawals come out before deposits, which results in the $17 overdraft charges. They only offer one type of overdraft protection. You can either have protection for debit transactions or check transactions, but not both.... even if you have another account with thousands of dollars in it. It's another way to ding you for $17. I have been a customer for 15 years, but as of today I am closing all of my personal and business accounts and taking my business to a smaller Fayetteville bank. I hope this review saves another customer from having to deal with them.

I will never recommend Arvest Trust to manage anyone's money or property. They push smaller trusts aside while charging their astronomical fees to mismanage or completely ignore them and the beneficiaries. While telling members of their den of thieves "it wasn't at the top of my priorities"! Then conspire to hide their misdeeds. The Fayetteville branch has trust officers that don't listen to beneficiaries and treat your money as if it was theirs. Their property management division of the trust is full of flat out buffoons who conspire with each other in order to hide missing personal property to be auctioned or the sheer lack of property maintenance allowing property to languish to the point it is uninhabitable even after ignoring numerous requests for maintenance.
They lack basic common courtesy or respect such as trust officers opening mail addressed to other persons or asking me where I live when I met with the (mis)managers to address these concerns. Look elsewhere or you'll regret you even stepped through the door. Run away as fast as you can from these nincompoops. They are a shambles from top to bottom who would just as soon fleece you than look at you or treat you with an ounce of dignity or respect. I HAVE NO AXE TO GRIND REGARDING ARVEST. I'm merely telling a true story for all to hear. STAY AWAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS LOW RENT, BACKWARDS, HILLBILLY (MIS)TRUST DEPT. More to follow...

Multiple false charges - I never do this but people should know and pay attention. Pls look at the charges on your account often. The fraud dept is gravely lacking and its cost is a LOT of money. We are going to switch banks!

Horrible service and treated terribly by staff at this and Malvern road location. Staff does not answer phone at location, and they also give deceiving information. Worst bank I have ever banked at in 50 years. Do not care about a "relationship" with their customer, even if you bring them a million dollar a year business account.

Very pleasant customer service. They're efficient and treat you like you would expect from a bank. Get the job done right and are quick to help correct any problems. Decent online access. The website is fast, and it feels secure. The layout is easy to read and helps make banking online go as smoothly as possible. Standard financial services. Nothing to wink at but also no real big problems. Gets the job done and makes you feel like you're a valued customer. The bank itself and their online services both feel very secure. Authentication is satisfactory and I never felt like my assets or info were at risk.

They are friendly, understand what you need or want. Act interested and helpful. Polite and accommodating. Pleasant atmosphere with happy faces and enjoyable to talk to. Easy to have a conversation with and discuss what I needed. Understood what I was asking for and gave me the best interest rate available. Security was evident and easily visible. Seemed capable of handling the premises. Signs were posted about what was not acceptable to be worn inside the bank. Felt secure and safe.

I can check on my accounts and not have any problems, easy to navigate and I don't have to search for what I am looking for. Everything I need or need to talk about, it's easy to talk with and go over my needs. They are friendly when recommending service that may benefit me. I have never felt unsafe while entering or going online. I feel secure. They are up to date on safety. I am happy when I enter and leave.

It was easy to use and laid out in a way anyone can understand. The pictures were helpful too. It helped answer questions in a way of not needing to talk to someone in person. Financial aid is very accommodating, understanding and of course, helpful, allowing payments and small interest rates to make it easy to pay back. Hard to find small interest rates these days. They take your security very high priority, no scams, all honesty, making you feel safe working with this company, which is rare these days. I highly recommend.

Great customer service. Training is evident with the company. It seems to have constant and consistent training modules in place and it shows. Not a fan of the online access but it very simplistic over most. Not too many links and not too little. Very good job on keeping the site up to date. Financial services are great compared to many of the large branches. Offers an array of services for its consumers and is on point. Highly recommend to many. Great job of security. Haven't has or heard of any security issues and that means a lot to consumers today. Very valuable in their services.

Good job with their customer service because they were attentive to my needs. For what I needed they help with. They were indeed very professional and the customer service was friendly. When I did the online access for my transaction I did not know what to expect. I'm glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well they treated me and took care of my needs. When I described what I got out of the financial services experience I can say I did not know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised at how well they took care of me and what I needed from them. When I talk about the sense of security I received from them I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised at how much you can get a chance to win the game.

They greeted me very friendly, and I felt comfortable. I enjoyed the services they provided, and also look forward to returning. I'm grateful to have a bank I can trust and I would not change service and won't plan on to no time soon. Easy to save your username and log into your account on any devices. And also they provided an app that you can easily access and use to check your balance anywhere and anytime. They handle my money very well. I never had a problem depositing my check or getting cash from teller, or access account online. Easy as 123. I have fraud protection on all accounts, and it's easier to keep up with your balance and make transitions and pay bills very easy online.

I think the customer service at this location was very good. They were very very helpful and I answered every single question that I had. I would definitely do business there again. This company has a very good website that is easy to use and is very user-friendly, I had no problems working my way around it at all. Everything on this website is very self-explanatory.
I believe this company is very straightforward and does not try to hide anything from its people. Very, very informative, and upfront about everything. I felt as if they were not trying to manipulate my business anyway. I believe this company has a very good security protocol put in place but like any other company that deals with online services there's always going to be a threat of security breachment.
