Absolutely terrible service! I go in and request reading contacts and they prescribe distance contacts without telling me. When contacting the management they want to charge me for an entire new exam and refuse to do anything to even fix their mistake. They just say "the old doctor is no longer here" and to wear reading glasses over their distance contacts. This has caused so many neck problem and over 500 dollars in contacts that are wrong are a complete waste of money.

Just left this place in Ocoee Florida. The service to a ** woman was extremely unprofessional. Zero for customer service. Make me wonder. This is my second time. First time they said they do not service my insurance plan. That was a lie. A group of lazy females. They all need to take a few classes in diversity and customer service. Horrible, horrible place. Very disappointing. I spoke to a gentleman on the phone who stated that they take my insurance He was extremely pleasant on the phone and very helpful but the female staff in person all need to be educated on customer service regardless of color, religion or age.

I got 2 pairs of glasses last yr around October at the Savannah, GA. store. 1st fit, couldn't see distance. 2nd fit, still the same. 3rd fit was better, but still bad. I needed glasses, so I just took them. Of course, I haven't used them because I can't. I moved from Savannah and couldn't return anyway after 90 days. I'm out $700+ and have useless glasses. So I gave them a shot....3×, and they are just bad. I'm still afraid to get new glasses anywhere. Eyeglass World will NEVER get my business again UNLESS they make this right. Maybe all they wanted was my $$. That's fine. Repeat business is where it's at. If they fix, I'll repost. But, I don't think they will. Pic of still new glasses below.

I absolutely love this location in Melbourne, Florida. I was introduced to Jordan, she really knows everything about eye glasses and prescriptions. The main computer had some problems but she took the initiative and worked it on her phone through the website. Once the problem was solved she transferred all the data from her phone to the main account. She was so happy to help and ensured that my visit was worth the trip to Melbourne. We really need people like her, Best customer service I have ever had. You now my business from her on. Thank you so much Jordan.

I was unable to get the type lenses the Dr. suggested. After paying $700, I was promised it would be 7 to 10 days for them to be ready. We told them we were leaving Florida and had to have them in that time frame. It is now day 18 and still no glasses.

This is such a poorly managed store. I would behoove the powers to be to replace this guy. His wheelhouse seems NOT to be customer service, or helping staff....the staff is VERY unhappy working there, and it felt like they were very much trying to serve the customers. I have been in the business world for many years, and when most or all of the staff is miserable working with him: it is not a good sign. That means they are not being treated well.
And I have to say, the staff wants to give the customers good care, good service, and, when they have a question, he was no help at all. I was charged A LOT of money (well over 200.00), only to wait almost 2 weeks, and they were wrong prescription. They said it was MY fault that the eyeglasses did not fit, and that they needed 70.00+ more dollars! I paid and a few days later, I picked up the glasses, only to realize that they never made my glasses fit me. There was no "post eyeglass adjustment". But I was done. I aim to let everyone I know about this horrendous experience. You need to do something: this store is dying!

When I went to pick up my two glasses, another person's name and address was on the paperwork. I’ve been unable to read fine print with both sets of glasses. Called first, was told to come into the store. Came into the store and explain my concerns, was ganged up on by four ** workers in the store. Stephanie told me she was the manager when the store across town said she wasn’t. They told me there’s nothing wrong with my glasses. I repeated that I’m unable to read and they basically told me to leave their store. I have been read the glasses since Nursery school, and never had this happen before. I am in someone else’s prescription as indicated on the paperwork, they refuse to rebuild my glasses, even though I have Lynn’s prescription on both sets.
I would warn others to not deal with these ruffians. I was foolish to know as a ** woman that I would have any rights at Eyeglass World. I’m now stuck with over $700 worth of glasses that I cannot see through to Read and they don’t give a **! DO NOT Buy glasses here. They don’t care if you can see or not. Call the store across town, found out that the manager was actually not the manager from that store and then they begin to treat me in the same fashion. So basically you’ll get into trouble if you discover their errors and they will not be humane about it, if I can see anyone this type of treatment, I will be saving someone from what I endure, and the money I lost out on thinking this was an eyeglass shop.

It is now 01/03/2024 and I still don't have the glasses. I am told they are on back order and they have no idea of when I will get them. This company has no customer service dept and as far as I am concerned they are nothing more than a scam operation. If you need glasses go somewhere else to a reputable company.

I went to Eyeglass World because my glasses had broken. The left arm broke. I also needed an exam and new glasses, anyway. The staff were incredibly kind, knowledgeable and considerate. Tina worked in the eye exam area. Amy and Ryan work out front with fitting lenses. These people were super delightful! I am a massage therapist and I do not work for or have any affiliation with Eyeglass World except for being a very happy customer. I went in and left in a better mood.
The exam was 69 I believe and I bought the least expensive frames which were 88. I read in another review that someone felt duped because they were charged a lot more than the exam fee and frame fee. Well, honestly that is everywhere in the USA. Customers need to expect that things add up (high definition, scratch resistant, etc and so forth) especially if one has an astigmatism. Overall, an awesome experience. The optometrist was really gregarious, professional and funny. Thanks!

I purchased the 2 pair deal for $89 that really ended up being about $450 deal plus the cost of the exam. Not surprised, that's more the normal price. I've been wearing glasses for about 55 years now and the whole process was really normal and what I expected from past experiences. I paid for all the bells and whistles. The problem I have is that after about 6 months I noticed the lenses were very scratched up from normal wear. I went back and had them look at them and they agreed and replaces the lenses. I told them that I paid for all the extras and did not expect them to scratch so easily. They stated that they didn't charge me for scratch resistant lenses, and they don't offer that add on, which surprised me.
Anyway, here we are again 6-ish months later and the lenses are worse than before with normal cleanings that I have performed for the last several decades. My issue is obviously inferior lenses compared to all the several other lenses I've purchased in the past. The kicker here is that I worked in construction forever and past glasses took a beating. I'm retired now and these lenses are babied compared to all others I've owned. These are the worst lenses I've ever purchased.

Eye exam on 11/9/21. Said new glasses will be ready by 11/23/21. Called - was told glasses not ready, but will be by 11/26/21. I advised her that new glasses are needed before 12/1/21. Old ones are just too scratched up. 11/27/21 and 11/29/21 Called again - told glasses not here, also told -have not had time to go through all the boxes of glasses yet. 11/30/21 called again and after being told, "Your glasses are not here, need to go through all the boxes of glasses," I asked to speak with supervisor. My glasses were found.
Arrived to get glasses. I was handed my glasses at the customer service counter. I tried them, told her I did not think the bifocal is okay. The line seems really low. She just sat there looking at me. I said it 2 more times. No reply by her, she just looked at me. She was obviously not going to refer me to someone who would fit my new glasses to my face or help with the bifocal line. I asked if I owed any more money, she said no. I said guess I will just live with it and I left. Every time I called I was left on hold 3-5 minutes. Very poor customer service, would NOT recommend or go back.

I felt compelled to write a review to praise the Clearwater EyeGlass World because of Lisa and Danielle. First of all I have been diagnosed with ‘Diabetic Retinopathy’. I have had my left eye operated on and get periodic shots in the right eye. I broke my progressives and they couldn’t be fixed. My retina specialist suggested I wait to invest in a new pair of glasses because my eyes are in transition. So I bought one pair so I could read and another for distance to save money. Frankly this solution was driving me crazy trying to keep up with taking them off and on.
I am a senior and on a fixed income and not being able to see well was enough stress. So I went to visit the Clearwater store. Lisa was so customer focused. She really tried to find the most reasonable solution for me. She took her time and was so kind. She then went to talk to Danielle and they gave me the glasses free of charge! I was so appreciative because my prescription is good till January, about four months from now. They have a lifelong customer. In this day and age where greed is the status quo I was pleasantly surprised.

Updated on 08/07/2021: This is the second part of my review. I received my glasses after 3 three weeks whereas I finally called them. They never called me to tell me my glasses were in. The first time I put them on my vision far away was blurry. They told me there could be a period of adjustment. After three days my headaches got worse and I started seeing double as if I was crossing my eyes. I returned them only to find out they didn't catch at my eye exam I needed prisms in them. My last 3 had them in it. Needless to say I returned them and wasted 4 weeks plus driving 1 hour each way only to not have new glasses. They offer to fix them with my optometrist prescription. Not gonna happen. Now I have to start all over again.
Original Review: I scheduled an appointment with Eyeglass world and they called me everyday for two weeks to remind me plus emails. I got my eyes checked and when I bought my glasses the amount came to $640. This is for two pairs but they said with one pair the price was the same. I waited three weeks for them to come in, (not the same day) as they state and finally called them to see if they had come in. They said, "Oh yea. Didn't anyone call you?" They have no problem calling you to make sure you come in for appt. I will update this review after picking them up. They charge for each lens separately. I will shop elsewhere.

On March 5, 2020, after a telephone conversation with Rebeca, one of the best professionals I have met in Eyeglass World and National Vision in Kissimmee, Florida decided to go to Eyeglass World to find out if they were UHC-AARP providers. Just talking to Rebeca motivated me to get there, when there are so many other excellent optics and closer to where I live. I hope the company have cameras to see with their own eyes and hidden microphones to listen too.
The first person who yelled at me when walking in: "Come here, what do you want" had its name badge upside down. When asking about Natalie, was obviously to let me know her name, because it was upside down and half hidden. Explain I had called and asked about the above said to which she proceeded to ask loudly who had spoken with me on the phone about the purpose of being there. Cordially, Rebecca agreed, attended and guided me wisely; according to my needs. Thank you very much Rebeca for your attention and professionalism.
After helping me to know about certain advances in technology that could benefit me according to my needs, I proceeded to go to the clinic because it was necessary for me to examine my vision coverage and know what would or wouldn’t cover me. Before examining with the optometrist, I showed my health insurance card, but since my insurance does not cover eyeglasses and their lenses, I decided to use the contact lens alternative, however, the manager who attended me didn’t told me that my vision plan would not cover the fitting, until after the study, when the manager inform me that I have to pay $ 80 because my insurance does not cover the fitting of multifocal contact lenses.
Service provided was paid, but first I call the insurance to ask how it was possible for a PPO plan not to approve that; debating on speakerphone between the parts the doctor clarified CL Fitting; in turn, UHC ~ AARP supervisor started an investigation due to the fact that this is covered to patients with HMO. However, and after having performed the rigorous study conducted by the doctor, I proceeded to request receipt, and my prescriptions regarding the payment of insurance and contact lenses fitting fees at that moment the manager provided everything, and after paid off took back my prescription for the contact lenses and refused to give it to me stating that they need to order them, which I knew already through the doctor.
Understanding the purpose to retain the paper, beg to handed to me which she did and gave back, after I took a pic to the unofficial/unsigned prescription for the lenses to be order which was something I paid for. Expecting to receive my legal prescription, thereafter will be when the doctor receives the lenses and realize the fitting. While on my cell phone line, waiting for the UHC supervisor, I request to the manager if it was possible to provide me with the Coach sunglasses model number, that I got there years ago to reorder them since are missing....
That was when the employee at National Vision that wears her Badge UPside Down? -> Nancy. Turned around to shout out to me from the National Vision Dept to the Optometry Clinic area were I was: “Malcriada” adjective that means: Naughty, Uncivil, Underbred, Insolent, Unmannerly, ill-bred. Is a person that intends to always do his/her will regardless of the convenience or opportunity of his/her actions. How ridiculous is that she dare to label me when she doesn’t know me.
I am a pharmacist with 30 years of service to the patients in need and someone who knows the dignity and respect with which every human being deserves to be treated regardless of race, social origin, nationality, language or religion because in God's eyes we are all equal. I treat remarks like that with the contempt that they deserve. So asked her “how you dared to be so disrespectful to a customer, I’m 65 years old, a Medicare and Social Security patient”. Ironically her answer was: “I’m going to call the police.” Not knowing that at the end of the day was the police officer the one that told me to report everything to Corporate. This employee is someone who will do everything she wants to do because nobody have any control over her actions or behaviour.
She continued with a casual unconstrained conversation talking about me out loud on my back trying to get involved in my medical issues and violating the HIPPA Law and my privacy as a patient. ...while still talking to the supervisor from UHC and identifying to her how unpleasant was my experience there after this ** insulted me. ... ** is a noun that means: (UNPLEASANT PERSON) an unkind or unpleasant woman that is not treating someone very well; not considering someone's feelings. Did she like that? She took a sip of her own medicine and she didn’t like it...
So start screaming and yelling at me “don’t call me like that.”-> Nancy and Gloria. My answer toward Nancy was: “I’m not speaking to you”. That was when she turned so sweet toward the manager to obtain her approval to lash out with a 911 call, and mentioned: “come on and kiss her butt” ???? Something that is usually said when a person is trying to provoke you with gossip or in response, to when a person is being outright rude. The root cause of gossip is almost always, without fail, jealousy. The more successful you are, the more attractive, the more kind, the more self-assured, the more people will gossip. They do it to try and bring you down. They do it to try and build themselves up, but so very sorry they picked the wrong person.
....In the meantime and upon my previous request the manager provided me with the model number of the glasses that I was wearing, and not for the Coach sunglasses requested. This was part of the customer service received by the manager, who was apparently interested in pleasing her disrespectful employee and preferred to devote very little of her time to provide at least mediocre customer service. It is shameful and unfortunate that a great company like Eyeglass World and National Vision has such employees working together with professionals optometrists, opticians and all the ones that have empathy to provide help to their patients every day. There is time for everything in life and apparently it is time to start cleaning the house and do without those employees.

At 13 months dark coating started coming off around the edges. They asked me “do you leave them in a hot car? Well that’s the problem and YOUR problem.” I was having problems seeing at night with the regular glasses and finally realized that the anti glare feature was too dark. By the way, my 8 year old Walmart sunglasses, routinely left in both vehicles didn’t lose their coating! I went on yelp to review and the first thing that comes up is a full page advertisement. They wanted too much private information for me to sign up and businesses know that most people don’t want to give up so much privacy. One pair had their regular lenses for my back-ups. The other pair I ordered with Classic lenses. I highly recommend paying the extra for the classic lenses! Both came in sooner than I'd been promised! I also took advantage of the 50% Off additional glasses within 30 days and bought a pair of sunglasses.
The sunglasses didn't come in on time and the lab hadn't notified them. It turns out they broke the lenses while making them. The second time the lab broke the frames. They didn't inform the store this time either. A member of their friendly staff had to call again and find out why. The 3rd time they made the glasses they didn't break anything, but they again didn't come in by date promised. To make it up to me I was allowed to get. Free pair of sunglasses! They recommended I pick out a pair with a thicker frame for my high Prescription. +750. They are awesome sunglasses I love and they came in early! Had my eyes exam and then went to pick out my 2 pairs of glasses and the price went from 200.00 for glasses to over 500.00. I did upgrade the frames by 20.00 dollars, but then the lens were more expensive to get the special bifocal was more expensive, any coding I wanted was more expensive, to get sunglasses was more expensive due to polarizing the lens... etc. I had to go with a frame I was not completely happy with, cheaper lens, no protection and could not even get a pair of sunglasses to get the price down to 300.00. I will not be recommending Eyeglass World to anyone and will never do business with them again.

After working all Friday night 7/19/2019 my wife and I made an appointment together on Saturday 7/20 so we could have this taken care of in one trip. We both carry the same policy with our insurance, so we expected and told them that our ins. covered $150 with a $10 copay. After being there over two hours both of us get our bills. Somehow a procedure was done that raised the co-pay from $10 to $30. WASN'T EVEN ASKED! So now they are into us for an additional $40. Could you imagine if we let them dilate our eyes. Hummmm I wonder what the co-pay would have been then. I just said, "fix it" and paid. Too tired to argue at this point.
So we come back Monday to pick up our glasses around 5:30 pm. I'm not even going to tell you what happened as we waited twenty-five minutes. Let's move on. So we get our glasses and the thief hands us two glass cases that we both know was garbage. She said, "we ran out of cases." As I'm looking at dozens of cases in boxes on the wall. They just had to squeeze that last six dollars out of us. I hope they get a big commission check. Thieves. Remember this Eye ** World. That $186 you took from my wife and I today, you won't be seeing that $372 next year. I know there are other people like us too. Your people are slick. You win today but we will win in the long run. "No. That won't be a problem. We will help you with that." So I get appointment and when I get there I am in a ok mood. Get glasses if not today then I figure 7 Days at the worst. I get there earlier than the required 15 mins. Doc Michael ** .O.D. over there helping his wife. Right on. That's cool. Still got good vibes.
Sometime later I get taken back by someone and a thought goes thru my head kinda quick. :(What was showing up early for anyway? Not paperwork. That only took like 2 mins.): The thought passes and air suddenly invades my eye socket with a quickness. And Then the other. It was a eye puffer test. Then got taken back for a game of 20 questions tho they weren't varied much just like this, is it one? or two? etc. Got to admit the guy was quick. I remember it taking longer but got off track anyways. This is where they showed their true face. {x.x}
He takes me to contact room. Asks if I ever worn contacts. I say I wore my sister's colored ones once. Guess that means I know what I am doing when it comes to contacts or so the doctor told Eyeglass World. So he grabbed a pair with a quickness. Gave them to me and left to go back to helping his family. I am thinking wow kinda rude. But he told Eyeglass World he saw me put them in to cover his own behind which was a lie. He shut the door when he left. Popped back in. Said "Oh I see you got the contacts in." No kidding. Yea no thanks to you doc. *FacePalm* Then I go pick out my glasses yada yada.
That's my store visit and then hell breaks lose ugh. That is dealing with the people who run the company which is National Vision Inc. aka America's Best and other eyeglass stores. All their stores have low ratings. They're not accredited with the BBB or with Consumer Affairs. Why? Cause they don't care about complaints against them. Don't take my word for it. Check out their sites. Read the complaints against them. They ended up giving me my money back - the doctor's eye exam cause they said I quote "We will not refund the eye exam because the script left the building" instead of what I asked for which was the doctor and customer service to apologize to me and give me what I paid for. Guess I was expecting too much you know like get what I pay for. What was I thinking. (-.-)
Lesson Do your homework unless you want to get treated like... well horse poo. {-.-} Oh if you go to Eyeglass World request another doctor. Do not take doctor Michael ** .O.D. There are several problems with this company. First, there is, IMO, a kind of "bait and switch" mentality here, because they don't just permit you to buy 2 glasses for the price of one; they require it. This is because the basic eyeglass, usually made of cheap plastic (or wire) is the same base regardless of the "name" on the eyeglass. (Do some research on this---you might be surprised.) They require double glasses because it is with all the "add-ons" that they make the real money.
The second problem is that they have a kind of rotating group of optometrists; since my prescription required changes three times, I had three separate optometrists; and all three disagreed on what prescription I should have! They even contradicted each other. I finally insisted (they did not want to do this) that they give me my old script back, since they all had agreed that my vision change was negligible. Also, they don't take Medicare or Medicaid--shame on them. And shame on me for not checking beforehand. Finally, they were quite friendly (well, the general staff was---can't say the same about all three optometrists), but I would trade friendliness for competence and forthrightness any day. I will not return next year for my free yearly pair of glasses, covered by my insurance.

Couldn't see with the new glasses, they wanted to recheck my eyes, no thank you. Then wanted me to get second opinion and stay with the glasses and they will have them change for free... Free? I paid 89 dollars for exam... and 320 dollars for glasses. No thank you. The assistant manager told me I just wanted to get my money back because I didn't like the prescription. Like? I couldn't see with them, they made wrong rx with my eyes, and got angry because I ask for money back which they had to give back, they will not touch eyes ever again!!! This is a zero star review.

I asked her what the 303 she had just written down was and she said "Oh, that's the price of the glasses you want." So, here I am not with any glasses and wishing I didn't waste the gas. Made an appointment and got the exam ($58) a rather hurried exam. Got the script and on to buy frames. Now here's where it get tricky. Eyeglass World promises two pair of glasses for one price. Not here, not me. You get $78 dollar frames with PLASTIC lens. Now if you like looking thru a fishbowl, well you're in heaven. Me, I want polycarbonate, that's $90 PER LENS. With anti-reflective coating add another $25 and insurance (must have) another $25 plus frames, you're in for $308. But wait they do offer that deal, they credit you $129 for the cost of the plastic lens glasses, so it's just $179 for the first pair. I bought 3 pair and paid $636.95 (See my receipt). I'm not real happy, but I kind of need the stupid things. Finally get the call 6 days later. "Come get your glasses." I race to the place and try on the first pair, OH NO! I CAN NOW SEE DOUBLE VISION.
The glasses are right, second pair the same, Murphy's Laws: you guessed it #3 in the toilet too. Let's say I am not feeling the love. We'll skip that part. I make a follow up exam and get the same doctor. "What's wrong with your prescription, I never make a mistake, I'm a doctor, you get it right." He's butt hurt and I want glasses. I suck it up, and get the next script, which is still wrong mind you, and I trot out to have my second try at new glasses. 2 weeks later lens are in, mind you I live in San Diego and am driving 40+ miles each way to Vista, and they install my lens in my current frames, and the glasses are still not right. My right eye is blurry now, but I need the darn things. I asked the young lady if she could tighten up the frames on one pair. She can't because the frames are defective, and I need a new frame. Just another chapter in the story. I begin wearing the new glasses, and the headaches begin, vertigo and worse.
I am doomed. So I write a review on Google Maps. I'm a level 6 reviewer with over 26.9K view and over 200 plus reviews, so I get busy. 5000 views within weeks of my review, I get a call from their corporate office in Georgia, They want to set things right. I get a very pleasant and actually a really nice person that wants to help me. I get a second call from the district manager of the Vista store and this young lady is awesome. We worked out a plan to get my glasses corrected and to the point I am happy with my purchase. It has taken a few weeks to get everything done, I am doing my part, now I am just waiting on the new glasses to come in and be sent to me. In all Eyeglass World and its employees want us to get the best quality glasses for our eyes, We as consumers have to do your homework, ask better questions of the services and products, and know how to use the proper methods to get complaints resolved.
I just needed to ask the RIGHT individual for help. I have trust in Eyeglass world, maybe their products are not the highest quality on their bargain sale item. I've learned "Free" usually means lower quality and get one free is "you're not going to like the end result". I didn't go into the place thinking I was going to get Prada or Gucci, But I did expect that what I am paying for is going to be assured to be the best quality for the price and made correctly. I learned a few things here with this problem I had, I learned it's "HOW" we speak up when something is wrong, patience and a soft voice are heard a lot better. And speak up to be heard, NOT to just make known your frustration and anger. Now if my glasses come back right this third and final time, I am going to be a better person because of it.

I then was given another Rx for eyeglasses and was told I would have to pay an additional fee when I was never told bifocal lenses would help me see the best, so I proceeded to buy the 2 for $78, when I could have bought a pair of frames I liked and then I would have gladly paid for the progressive lenses.

I told her "I have been wearing glasses for over 55 years and had never seen anything like it. What is the difference the way they make them now?" She said "how would I know? I don't make frames." She told me the warranty was up and nothing could done. She said she would call the main office but they are going to say the same thing. The store is in Spokane WA. I live 30 miles away so 5 60 mile round trips. Eye World has less than a half star rating and this is just one reason why DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!

About 5 weeks before moving from Florida to Washington state I went into Eyeglass World/Gulf Coast Optometry in Daytona Beach, FL. I had been here 2 years before. They charged me a large amount for the exam 2 years ago even though I had insurance that was supposed to cover most of it. The prescription was not great but that happens. This time, with the exact same insurance and the exact same exam, the charge was $120 less, and they again wanted me to try a pair of trial contacts which they didn't have in the store, which happened 2 years ago. They assured me it would take 5-7 business days. After 5-7 business days I called them and they said it could take 7-10 business days.
After not hearing from them after 3 weeks, they now say that the optometrist never wrote down his exam and never ordered anything, which they didn't tell me the first time I called. They are also saying that they cannot guarantee that they will give me the prescription, leaving me out in the cold with nothing for this exam despite the money I paid, with no prescription and no contact lenses. This is 3 different problems from 2 encounters with this establishment over 2 years. Apparent overcharging on the first visit. Now performing an exam, not ordering trial contact lens, and not giving me my prescription, despite me having paid for it. Essentially, I paid something for nothing, as if I never even had an exam. I see multiple other complaints about this business on this site. Can't something be done?

This is the worst place I have ever dealt with in ordering eyeglasses! First the optician broke my frame then when they gave me a new frame he scratched my lenses. They ordered new lenses and when those were put in, they scratched my lenses again! So now after the 3rd time of them ordering lenses, they ordered the wrong lenses and they were also scratched as well. So I told them to give me money back! THEY ARE HORRIBLE! I been wearing glasses all my life and I have never dealt with a place like this before! Horrible. Beware!

I needed to replicate my current eyeglasses (single vision for distance only) made in another state, for which I also have the original written prescription. I also had an identical frame already purchased in the past. I went to Eyeglass World in Waterford Lakes Shopping Center in Orlando, FL. They told me that my glasses were made of either plastic or polycarbonate and I ordered the polycarbonate lenses, for which I had to pay extra because my employer insurance UnitedHealthcare does not cover polycarbonate. The order number was **. When I picked up the glasses, I could see well, but the temples could not be closed because the lenses were really thick near the sides. I showed that my glasses could close well and were not cut so thick on the sides. The technician told me that I probably did not have polycarbonate lenses, but instead high-index (which he was unable to recognize in the first appointment).
He said that my frame could not have polycarbonate lenses. He said he had to make my glasses again with high-index lenses. The charge would be over $90 (my copay is supposed to be $10). I agreed to do it, but I said I would come back in a week after I received my paycheck. When I returned, the manager of Eyeglass World, called Daniel, said he could not accept my prescription because it was too old. He said he could replicate my glasses. His technician checked my lenses and reported that they were completely different from the prescription, which I know is not true as I had several pairs of glasses made with this prescription in the past. I left, convinced that the technician and the manager were completely incompetent at Waterford Lakes.
I went to another Eyeglass World (as this company is in my insurance network) on 3808 East Colonial Dr in Orlando. A very nice lady, called **, had the glasses checked against the prescription by a technician. Everything matched. I ordered a pair of glasses with high-index lenses that cost with the insurance $112 (order# **). The lenses had to arrive from Georgia. About a week later, I went to pick up my glasses. The sides of the lenses were not smooth. They were rough and unfinished and the glasses were giving me a terrible headache. I went to Lenscrafters to have them checked and to get a new estimate without the insurance. I was told that one lens had the axis off by a significant amount. Possibly the lenses were also not cut well or had other problems.
Both Eyeglass World places returned my money promptly, but I do not recommend this place to have vision glasses made. About two weeks later, I received a phone call from Eyeglass World on East Colonial Drive asking me how my glasses were doing. The person who called me had no idea that the glasses had been returned.

I purchased two pair of glasses with anti-streak progressive lenses and I was concerned about the frames being too flimsy, so I asked the manager for more than a 30 days warranty. She wrote on a piece of paper, "1 year," but left out the lenses. I didn't worry about it because I never thought about lenses. Been wearing glasses for years and don't work outside, so it is normally years before lenses have any issues from unusual situations normally. And after one month the screw broke on a pair. Took them in and they fixed them.
Then a few months in I realized I was having trouble seeing the computer screen in front of me. Went a month or two cleaning each morning with lens cloth and lens cleaner (only use this product), have for years, and I just assumed I must keep smudging them. Finally in the last few weeks realized one pair has a permanent streak across one lens and the other is chewed up, like I have been cleaning with sandpaper. Couldn't have been better to clean it. Now I know why she excluded the lenses. They are terrible.
I am angry. Normally go to simple places -- Sears, Walmart, Sam's Club -- and the glasses are much less expensive and they stand behind their product, and never, ever had a lens issues even close to this. I can't wear either pair without a major vision issue, so have to take them off and look at computer screen fuzzy to see what is there correctly. Unbelievable. Will continue to warn others. Unbelievable and sad for there to be charlatans still selling products in the US in 2015!!! Happy Thanksgiving Eyeglass World. I hope you can sleep well with such deception. $600 is a lot to me and you abused my trust.

Hi, I cannot believe all the negative reviews for this chain. My wife and I have shopped at the Daytona Beach location for five years. We have never had a bad experience. We bought the insurance with our current sets of glasses. The puppy chewed them both up (same night). Eyeglass World replaced both pairs, gratis, no questions asked. They obviously stand behind their insurance product.
As for all the whining about their 2 for 1 offers... that's called advertising. Everyone does it... I cannot believe anyone would be so naïve as to think the store won't try to upsell the product. I hope you don't think you'll get out the door at the car dealer for the price they advertise in the paper? The staff is always friendly, and professional. Yes, if you go to the store on a rainy Saturday afternoon they will be rushed because of the volume. Just have to realize you are not the center of universe. At least at my location these guys are great. We recommend them to our friends and coworkers often.

I'm used to every dimwit in the world trying to upsell everything, and run a stack of scams, so the experience here was not unusual, just depressing. 2 for 1 deals, yeah, usually a scam unless you're buying just bottom rate CR-39 lenses. Claiming polycarbonate is only $30 extra and anti-glare is only $25 extra, yeah, right, multiply that by 4. Remember, all extras are PER LENS. The tire store down the road pulls that same types of scam, but they're generally not considered to have any level of professionalism or ethics either. The eye exam was quick but a little slipshod. My eyes felt pretty fried for a few days after, but the prescription was dead on surprisingly enough. Frame selection was not exactly outstanding and seemed a bit on the lower quality side.
Employees were hurried and disorganized, which was odd considering foot traffic was low. It appears as if they're running on a similar business model to what drove RadioShack, Circuit City, and many others out of business, focusing on selling bogus services and warranties rather than offering superior product. If the customer looks at the receipt and product at the end of the day and feels like they've been ripped off, even if the product is functional, you won't get repeat business. But, if you're just doing a hit and run for some cheap frames, glasses, and a quickie exam for a replacement pair of glasses, what the hell? Still, I'd skip the 2 for 1, and don't bother with the anti-glare. The anti-glare seems to work, but not as well as it should for the premium price they're charging.

Also when I called because I had lost my last contact of my right eye, I was told I must prepay before ordering and it would be anywhere from 2-14 days. My daughter needed a pair of glasses at the Eyeglass World in Wesley chapel, Florida on hwy 52 and i75. We walked in, picked out the glasses she wanted -- already had a prescription -- then approached the customer service desk. There was a total of 2 people ahead of us...both needed to see the doctor. When it was our turn, I told the saleslady we already had a prescription and the glasses we wanted. She told us to take a seat at the table where they fit you and someone would be with us.
We waited WELL OVER a hour and not one person even noticed we needed to be helped. After I noticed several people were being waited on that came in long after us, I finally went up to the customer service desk and asked what was taking so long, as the girl looked at the sales guy and said, "Oh, he was suppose to help you." I don't blame the sales guy 'cause he was waiting on everyone all by himself, trying to figure out amongst himself on who was next. However the girl working customer service should have told him before he even took anyone else and I honestly think she forgot about us 'cause the desk she was sitting at was obstructing her view on us sitting there.
Better yet, they need a sign in sheet so it's orderly. Not just say, "Have a seat," then forget about us. Absolutely terrible, terrible service. However the guy that did help us was very nice to us. Didn't get his name but has a accent. It wasn't his fault she never told him who was next. I don't normally fill out reviews but with this place I feel I needed to.

I should have read the extensive negative reviews by others on many sites before even going here. Was just there running errands nearby. This business really is a joke. There were many failings. Customer services was bad, but generally not horrible until I discussed various policies and fee. They did not want to discuss accurate charges saying "The doctor will determine" and I continued to ask that as the patient will I be allowed to choose what is best for myself. Never got a true answer.
Part of the scam (a lot in Florida) is the "astigmatism" BS to get $30 or more on exam fees. Now I understand why everyone in Florida thinks they have astigmatism when I don't see it so extensively in states where fees are regulated more appropriately. Also, according to Florida law, a contact exam can be up to 2 years prescriptions but I was told and confirmed by a rather nasty doctor that they only do 1 year prescriptions. When pressed for details, was told the eyeglass exam was $50 something and the contact exam only took about 5 more minutes (yet cost $110 to 150).
I asked why the premium fee for 5 minutes of work and this is when the visit started becoming confrontational. I started to explain I don't have a lot of money and was hoping to perhaps get a little bit of a price break (and would have accepted a no response if done so with professionalism... I do own my own business after all). I admit, I was getting testy myself due to the rudeness. I decided to leave and was walking out. Also admit I was saying out loud (not yelling) that the business practices there were terrible and they could learn a thing or two about customer service (which I know a lot about... as I had every one of my customers in a tax office walk about with a smile, without breaking any laws).
I was in my vehicle when a DEA agent (apparently shopping inside) approached me (doctor at the door) started yelling at me to leave (which I was doing). I started reaching for my phone to record this and while doing so when he, the steroid (raged) agent making death threats if I came back. That quickly turned into threats of no-trespassing order (remember, he has zero jurisdiction there) once I started rolling video. I do have some "audio" of the threats. The doctor also yelled something I could not tell however. I left (never making one aggressive or threatening action). I will however be filing a complaint with the county and if I can, the DEA (when asked the agent did not identify himself). Actually he never truly identified he was an agent, strictly going by his shirt and his tone. May likely have been a fake hence the lack of disclosure. Once off site I called the county police and met them off-site. Unknown at this time the results of such action, but the bottom line: AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS.

I had to call them around them the 1st of July to see if they had them ready and they said they did - they were just sitting the box. I asked them to please send them to me as I had also paid for the return postage. Well, I got them back and as soon as I put them on, guess what, the lens fell back out, and my glasses had been sprung sitting all cockeyed on my face. When I picked up the lens, I should have looked closer. The lens was all scratched up like it had been held with something metal to repair them.
I emailed corporate telling them of this and my dissatisfaction asking for replacement glasses (they can have this pair). I have not heard a peep from them - $500.00 down the drain. April 2014 ~ I took my boyfriend to the location by my house in Palm Beach Gardens. My boyfriend’s glasses were only 3 months old and he lives in Ft Lauderdale. Since we were in the area I stopped by and asked if they could replace one of the nose pads that was missing. The man replaced the nose pad and broke the arm of the frame right off the lenses. His response was it fell off. He was right in front of me when it happened. He tried to superglue it with an epoxy which didn't work. We returned to the store the next day and waited until someone could talk to us about a 20 minute wait (typical at this store, because no one mans the front desk) although they saw us waiting for help.
I was polite and understand that it was an accident but the store and the employees did nothing but to offer us a new pair of glasses at $130.00. That’s right, for $130.00. When they advertise 2 pairs for under $80.00. Since this was the only pair of glasses my boyfriend has, I called the store this time and asked to talk to Alex the store manager, and I left a message for him to call me. To this day he has never returned my call - it’s been several months. I feel the specials they run on eyeglasses is misleading, and it’s bait and switch. Besides this final visit to the store I was a customer of theirs and all I can say is the whole customer experience in the store is awful. No one acknowledges you when you walk in, and you wait, and wait, and wait.
At the time of my initial appt for my glasses and contacts, they changed my prescript from my previous eye doc in Ohio. Since I moved to Fla., I purchased 2 pairs of glasses and contacts. The glasses I had before had a slight bifocal to them. The new ones I got from Eyeglass World did not. When I asked the doctor about it I was told by the doctor I didn't need bifocals. So guess what, I can’t see with the glasses on, nor the contacts without reading glasses. They were in nothing but a rush to get me in and out of the exam room. I will not recommend this company, nor will I be back to do any business with them. And my boyfriend went back to Ft Lauderdale and got his lenses removed and put into new frames for $40.00 elsewhere.

I already knew about the bait & switch with the $78 & the $480 frames, so I just wanted the prescription for the glasses so I could order my glasses elsewhere. I got my eye exam & my daughter's as well, I do have insurance, but all they could offer was 5% off. I found this extremely odd because I have my coverage through work & have had the same coverage for years. But I paid for the exams & ordered my contacts, I have never had more problems with any contacts in my life. My trial pair that you're supposed to wear for a week before they actually order your contacts, I had 3 different lenses rip, in ONE WEEK. I have never seen anything like it. So now that I am of course out of contacts way too early because they rip after a couple of days, I'm trying to order my contacts & glasses from the same online site. Well, for the glasses they ask for the Pupillary Distance, I cannot find this on my prescription.
I call EyeGlass World to ask for this number, and they tell me that they do not provide this. They take that measurement when you order your glasses from them. I specifically told them I would be getting my glasses else where when I originally got the prescription. Then the man on the phone proceeded to tell me that ordering glasses online was a waste of time and money. I asked him much like the useless piece of paper that I bought from his store?
On the plus side, I was able to contact my insurance provider & they reimbursed me for everything that I spent at that horrible store and even though EyeGlass World is too lazy to file anything with your insurance, mine took care of everything for me and sent me a check, I didn't have to do a thing including fill out any forms. So now I will go to another store & get my last measurement, order my glasses & contacts & never think about that store ever again. And hopefully if enough of these reviews get out people will start to see what kind of place they are actually doing business with.

I was charged $39.00 for this service. The explanation was that the optometrist was not employed by Eyeglass World and therefore billed me independently. When I complained they took extraordinary ways to get me to understand the billing process and that I could take it up with my insurance company. Second, I was shown the best frames money could buy though I still was under the assumption that the special applied to all the glasses they were showing me. I did tell them when I first sat down that I was here for the special deal as advertised on TV. I do love the glasses I have but the 2 pair of glasses I bought are not worth the $514.00 I paid. They are a very basic gradual lens, nothing special.
If I were told this up front then I would never would have purchased them. When I told them that this was way too much, they told me I had to buy them because there is no way I could return them because they were custom made for me. I asked them what happened to the 2 for $78.00 glasses were they told me "Oh no, you don't want them". If I didn't want them, then what was I doing there? I came for the special. Thirdly, they never told me how much the bill was until I literally were going out the door. I nearly fell off my seat when they showed me the breakdown bill. Fourthly, I couldn't get anywhere with the sales crew and I asked if there were a supervisor around so I could get some of my questions answered. I was told there are no supervisors because they are an independent company and each person works secondary to Eyeglass World.
Finally, the glasses, though attractive, are not well-made. When I first bought them I could not see well out of them at all. A small adjustment and some instructions helped me get used to my glasses. Then the second time I returned my face hurt on the nose bridge and sides. A simple twist and I was assured they would be good as new. I was on the way to Massachusetts to take care of my Mom so they had to be fixed now. Guess what? They still hurt. I hope this is helpful for anyone thinking they could get a deal through Eyeglass World. I have needed glasses for a while now and I should have shopped around a little better. In the future Wal-Mart will be our new eyeglass store. I am very dissatisfied and will never shop there again.

I went for a contact lens exam, I had to pay the extra $39 for the exam. Then the doctor put me in more expensive contacts than I have been wearing for the past 20+ years. When I told him I wanted to go back to the one I had previously, he said I could but then ordered me a trial of an even more expensive pair. When I went to order, they then added on a charge for contact lens fitting, which was me putting in my own contacts and not seeing the doctor since my original visit.

I have a difficult prescription and when I went in, I asked if there would be a problem. They assured me there wouldn't be. When the first pair came in, it was obvious that the doctor had made a mistake and I had to get a new prescription. After the first pair came back and were okay, the second pair was supposed to be ordered. Two weeks later they called me to say pair two was in. In fact, pair two was never ordered so another several weeks went by when I was called again to find that pair two was submitted with the wrong prescription, and I had to wait again. It was almost 2 months for them to come in and three trips to pick them up.
I have dealt with Opti World, Pearl, and Lenscrafter over the years and never had the problems I had with this company. One staff member was rude and one that kept saying he would call me back, never did. When I asked what the problem was, they kept saying I had a difficult prescription. However, the first set came back in 2 weeks, which was expected. I went there three times to pick up the second pair, which I really didn't even care about. The stress level was unreal and if I had read your website in advance, I would never have gone to them. I am now on a mission to tell anyone who will listen about my negative experience.

I'm not sure why all the bad reviews, but my family and myself had a wonderful experience at the location in Lake Worth, FL. I was treated well by the sales girl that helped me. I was explained all of my options and was helped to choose two pairs of glasses that I am really happy with! I had mentioned that I had heard the negative comments and the manager of the store personally came over to explain that new management had taken over late last year and the store is now being run a lot better! I was happy that I was personally talked to and I am thrilled with my glasses. I have also sent two members of my family over to them and they were also very happy with everything! I say that you should definitely give Eyeglass World another try! I'm glad I did!

They are nice but don't know what they are doing. Four of us went in for eye exams and glasses/contacts. For me, it was the buy one get one free. My frames were $139 and single vision. Still, I ended up costing over $300 plus cost of exam, $58. Granddaughter's frames were $99 single vision plus $59 for the exam. Still, it cost $229. My mom's eye exam was $59. She was told she needed cataract surgery in both eyes and they gave her places to go to get the surgery done. Then they walked her out to the eyeglass area and sold her $548 worth of glasses knowing that they would no longer be needed after surgery (she is 76 and they should have guided her, not taken advantage).
Well, on top of that, when her glasses arrived and she tried them on, she couldn't see so they rechecked them. Well, lo and behold, they put the wrong prescription in and she had to wait another 9 days to get the correct ones. My daughter's eye exam was $89? She bought $79 frames and although she stuck to her guns and didn't let them convince her to add on every extra you can, she also had a bad experience. The salesperson told us how much she hates her job. My daughter also wanted contacts and the salesperson told her that contacts really were a cost she didn't need as contacts are expensive and a cost she didn't need to endure. That was about the last straw!
How dare she imply we are poor! After 2 hours of back and forth, the contacts were ordered and paid for. We were told she would get them within 1 week. Here it is 3 weeks later and still she has no contact lens! They took advantage of a senior citizen and treated my daughter bad so my advice is buyer beware! This all happened at the store in Daytona Beach, Florida located on International Speedway.

Today I tried the new glasses and I cannot see clearly through them. I am unable to focus; letters seem to move about when trying to read with them. My old glasses from Visionworks, where I wish to God I had gone again, work fine. The clown fitting the glasses kept trying to tell me I could see through them. I am not stupid. I know if I can see or not. One way or another I will be getting my money back from these losers. Do yourself a favor and never use Eyeglass World; they are clearly incompetent.

I took my mom to Eyeglass World because she wanted an eye exam and to purchase new glasses. While she was looking at the glasses, I went back to the optometry area to speak with the receptionist and ask questions about an eye exam. The receptionist was on the phone with a customer so I patiently waited. Five minutes has passed, still waiting - not one time did the receptionist acknowledge that she will be right with me but I didn't pay it any mind at that time.
Finally, the young lady got off the phone but instead of acknowledging me, she begin speaking to another employee who was giving an eye exam and had come out searching for something. After 15 minutes, I'm still standing, waiting to be acknowledged, not wanting to be rude and interrupt. However, I even made a comment to my mom when she came back to check that I'm still waiting to be acknowledged. I wasn't rude with it but I just wanted the girl to realize why I've been standing there and just say something. I'm sure she heard me by the way she glanced up to the other employee and continued to just sit there and watch the other employee go through some papers.
I kid you not when I tell you that this girl never turned to me to say, "May I help you?" or anything. My mom finally came and realized I hadn't been acknowledged and decided she was not going to spend her money in an establishment like that so we just left. I was pretty much in shock. Also, as I was waiting, three other employees (maybe lab techs because they had white jackets) were just standing there chit chatting about jewelry, gym membership, and other frivolous subjects. They kept looking at me stand there, but again, not one of them asked if I need help.
I don't usually write complaints or call corporate offices but I felt the need in this case because I have never been so offended. I'm not old myself but I've come to realize that customer service goes down the drain when the service providers are young, which in this case, the receptionist was no more than 22. I'm waiting on the corporate office to contact me back. I don't want anything free or discounted, I just want them to know how their customers are treated and to remember that it's the customers that keep businesses thriving. I will never give them my business again or recommend them to anyone.

I had a prescription filled at Eye Glass World with the options of scratch resistance, impact resistance, anti-glare and sun censored to darken up out in the sunlight. My purchase price was just a little over $400. Employees were very friendly and attentive. I was able to select the frames I wanted and everything seemed fine. Three months after receiving my new glasses, I began noticing that a lot of scratches began to show up and the only cleaning supplies and wipes I used were those made specifically for eyeglasses. I managed to use the glasses for about 10 months and the scratches had gotten so bad it was affecting my vision, so I took the glasses back and didn't have any problems with getting the lens replaced. Three months after receiving my new lenses, I noticed the same problems as before with the amount of scratches.
Of course, Eye Glass World would no longer replace the lens so my comments are to warn those not to purchase your lenses from Eye Glass World as I have discovered that the products they provide are cheap imitations of the real thing and they will only guarantee your prescription to 80% of what the eye doctor prescription states. Since then, I have purchased from another eye doctor and those glasses a year now do not have any scratches. BTW, I am still using the same cleaning supplies and wipes that I have always used yet the lenses from another company seems to resist scratching as advertised. In fact, the prescription of my new lenses appears to be more accurate. My doctor has told me that Eye Glass World sells old technology that just isn't as good as there is available so that is why their pricing is less. The old adage of "You get what you pay for" is exactly right. Buyer beware! And if you want good glasses, don't make your purchases from Eye Glass World.

My name is Judy **. I called their establishment on 3/8/12 about purchasing a pair of contacts. I told the young lady that answered the phone, I had my prescription. I told her I had AARP Medicare United Healthcare. I asked if she accepted that insurance and would there be a problem getting my contacts with all of the information I provided her. Her reply was "Sure, no problem, we should be able to get you in and out."
I arrived approximately 10 to 12 minutes later. I showed her my insurance card and driver’s license. She began to answer company incoming calls and proceeded to tell me about each one of her callers (including names) told me how aggravated she was each one of them. I knew from that she had no respect for a patient’s HIPPA rights.
Well, right away, she began to violate my HIPPA rights! She began yelling across the building to her manager (Pam) asking questions about my insurance, computer issues, so on. I walked away from a work station she was working from because she was embarrassing me by shouting my insurance information and co-pay. They were trying their hardest to get out of me. Pam leaned over and said "get a co-pay out of her". Chynna, the sales rep helping me, said "I don’t think I can since she has an updated script.”
Then Chynna seem to find a method to "get some monies" out of me, after telling by that time 10 or so people in the business about my business! She was going to charge me tax separately from the tax already included in the sale. Consequently, I should not have been charged anything because I actually had funds left over from what my insurance company allotted me to spend. I told her (Chynna) I did not have to pay that. She disagreed. She gets very aggravated, pushed her chair back, stood up and said "Well, I don't know what to tell ya lady, you have to pay it." Knowing full well I have the contacts in my eyes. I told her to get her home office on the phone that I was upset about the way everything had been handled anyway.
In the meantime while she was getting them on the phone, I walked outside and called my insurance company. I told them everything that had happened and they said I have to leave the business and do not pay them anything. If they had a fee involved, they should bill them and they would deal with it from that point on. They even talked to the manager which at this point walked over because Chynna said she was done with the whole thing. So she spoke with my insurance company. They told her what they told me, she didn't like it one bit. I took my cell phone back from her and spoke with my insurance company agent. She told me she had heard enough and that I might want to get out of there. She also said she was going to talk to her supervisor and let her know what just happened to me.
From there, we went back to Pam working frantically with numbers on the computer. She looks at me lays a receipt down on the table and says "I got the price down to this amount ($6.25). I will have to pay this amount out of my own pocket." I was appalled by that statement. I told her absolutely not. If this is the kind of business they operated under, that she would take her own money and get in trouble by doing that, I would pay that amount in order for her not "to get in trouble". I have been buying contacts, glasses for 25 yrs., never have I ever seen such an unprofessional staff as this one. I haven't even scratched the surface of how everything was conducted, not to mention the lack of merchandise on your floor. Just so you know, I'm not done here.

I came in the store sometime in the middle of August to have a nose pad replaced. When she was done, she put them on my face and they felt fine until I got home and the right lens fell out. I put the lens and my frames in my eyeglass case and the next day, I went back to have the lens put back in. When I took the lens out of the case, I noticed that there was a rather large chip in the right lower corner and I told the young man that it wasn't there when I came in for my nose pads to be replaced. He said, "Well, you had these made in 2007," which I replied, "What difference did that make?" I asked for the manager who ended up being the person that somehow chipped my lens when I came in for pad replacement.
I told her that I wanted a new lens and she said that she couldn't do that unless I got a newer prescription (I have no idea why this made a difference when all I wanted was the same lens I had when I came in). I happened to had an exam in December 2010 and there was so little change since the 2007 prescription. I didn't need new glasses, but I gave her that prescription because that is what she seemed to want. I left the glasses.
Approximately five days later, I picked up the glasses and the replacement lens was not high index, as this was what I had initially. She insisted that they were exactly what I had before even though you could see that the lens was three times thicker than the left lens. And when I put them on, my right eye was magnified much larger than my left eye! What she was saying and insisting on was not true and I did not appreciate being treated like an idiot. This time, I told her that I wanted exactly what I had before and nothing less. She said that she would not do it again. I wrote to a customer service rep and she said that I should go back and the store would send them back. So this is what I did:
I dated (6 Sept 11) a note and told her that I wanted her to use the 2007 prescription, use the same product used in 2007 for my lens, and that the "new" lens she had made was too small for the frame and wouldn't stay in the frame. I never heard a thing for almost three weeks. I called and a young man said that they weren't sent out until the 13th so it would be a few more days. I was livid. Why did she wait that long to send them in, especially when she knew how angry I was at her unprofessional performance?
I waited one month for a call and then wrote the customer service rep again. After that email, I got a call to pick up my glasses. Now, here is another unbelievable true story: I went in on Monday, 10 Oct 11. The lens looked correct in size but when I put them on, I couldn't read a thing--not a thing! Everything I tried to read from large print to small print was blurry--extremely blurry. If I wanted to get up off my chair, I would have fallen down; that is how blurry they are! She adjusted them and tried again but nothing made them better.
I said to her that the glasses I came in with were the exact 2007 prescription, so why could I see perfectly out of them and not out of the ones she just gave me? She said that she used the 2010 prescription because she needed a valid prescription! What a joke. My 2010 prescription had hardly no change from the 2007, so that should have not made a difference. Secondly, why did she not just change the right lens that needed replacement? Now, there are two new lenses that need to be replaced, not one! She said that she would not replace them again, and that was that even after I told her that I was going to court and the Better Business Bureau.
Here's my case: I was treated rudely by a store manager and couldn't tell the difference from a perfect reading lens from an obvious lens that was doctored out of revenge of some sort towards me because I caught her lying and insisted that the store replace her error. So what we have here is a customer that came in for pad replacement and left with a pair of glasses that I no longer can use. Is that justified? Frankly, if one of my store employees, let alone the store manager, treated a customer so disrespectfully and left them with a pair of glasses that were worthless, I would fire him/her.

Between my husband and I, we ordered four pairs of glasses on April 22, 2011. We got them all within a week as promised. With the sunglasses, the bifocal was set wrong so I had to sit up totally straight to see distance in them in order to drive. It was very uncomfortable. With the wrong setting, I tripped walking in my yard and sprained my ankle badly on Mother's Day. I still have troubles and will have more for a long time, I'm sure. The regular glasses, no line bifocals, began scratching to the point that after having them for only four months, I can see better without them than with them.
My husband's lined bifocals are not scratched, though. My husband's recommended safety glasses were supposed to allow the eyes to breathe easily and protect them from the metal filings and shavings as a tool and die maker. The glasses did not let his eyes breathe. His face sweated and they fogged up constantly.
Within two months, we took all three back for fixing. The safety glasses were replaced with a new set, which is fine for him. The sunglasses with no line bifocals were re-done and are fine. For the regular glasses, they simply said that they did not do scratch coating any longer because they just replace them within the year if they are scratched. Fine and dandy until you realize that they scratch beyond use after four months! I have been told to bring them back in to replace the lenses. But if I can find a different store that will put scratch coating on them, I will use them instead and never go back!

While I was in a training for work, my left lenses fell out.
On my lunch hour, I went to Eye Glass World to have them put it back in. The worker, Kelsey, took my glasses in a back room and fixed them. She brought them back and I put the glasses on and said that they were very blurry. Kelsey cleaned them and they were still blurry but because I had another errand to do, I left at 12:45pm. I did my errand and realized that my glasses were not blurry but badly scratched. I went right back to the store at 1:15pm and told them what happened. I was told that it did not happen there because they do not use anything that could cause the scratches. I told them that I was not having problem with my glasses before this and that they were not scratched. They told me to sit down and the manager would talk to me. This woman came up to the table and sat down; she started working on the computer and did not say anything to me. Her first words to me were, what is your name?
I explained what happened and again I was told that it did not happen at this store. By this time, I am very upset and almost crying but I had to go back to work. I went back to training and started to get a headache because of my glasses. On my next break at 3:00, I called the store back and asked to talk with the manager and Christy got on the phone. She told me that she was the person that talked to me earlier and she already know the situation. Again, I told her that I cannot wear these glasses and she again said that it did not happen at the store. She did say that she would give me a 30% discount on two pair of glasses but that would mean I would have to have another eye examine and the cost of the glasses would have to come out of my pocket.
I gave Christy my insurance information to set up the eye appointment but as I was in the training, I thought more about it and I know I did not scratch these glasses. Wendy called me back and she tried to call my insurance company and I was not in any system. She went on to say that I would have to call the insurance company (while I am in training) because there was nothing she could do.
Well, I called the company and was told that I am in the system and that I had been in it for over eight years. I called Christy back and again gave her the information. I felt like Wendy did not call. I called the store again later in the day and this time I talked with Cassandra but she said there was nothing she could do. I asked for the customer services number and was told that they would be open on Saturday. I called them several times during the weekend but one returned my call.
My glasses are so damaged that I feel like I am in clouds when I am wearing them and all the lights have the reflecting stars around them which is giving me headache and at night-time it is really bad. I also have found a chip out of my left lenses that was not there when I turned them in to get it fixed.

My husband and I have insurance. Every year or so, we have eye exams and glasses made to fit our prescriptions. We have never had a problem with any other eyewear facility. This year, we sat down with the associates (I can't remember their names) and went over our prescriptions and eyewear needs. They went through each line of insurance, advising us what the insurance would pay and what if anything would be at extra costs. My husband is 99% blind and only needs basic eyewear.
We chose simple $89 frames and ordered single-vision lenses with no tints or other enhancements. I needed bifocals for working at home. I chose medium-priced ($139) frames, bifocal lenses and an anti-glare treatment for working on the computer. No other enhancement was ordered. We chose to purchase the warranty coverage for one year (free at most retailers) to cover breakage, etc. We paid that $50 charge upfront.
Our insurance pays up to $130 for frames, so I paid the difference in costs for the frames out of pocket. The insurance company was billed $256.95 for my husband's single-vision glasses and $396.95 for my bifocals with the anti-glare treatment. The insurance company has paid all fees due. Eyeglass World is now sending us bills for $95.50 and $108.00, respectively, for costs not covered under our insurance. We were assured over and over while completing our orders that everything was covered, that there would be no additional costs for our glasses.

I had an eye exam with my personal eye doctor in April, 2010. I went to Eyeglass World as they were advertising a two for $78 special. By the time they were done adding features that I "had to have” or I wouldn't be happy with my glasses, I spent $550.00. After picking them up and wearing them for a couple of months, I realized I was getting bad headaches that seemed to show up when I'd been wearing my glasses for a while. I went back to my eye doctor again in June. He checked my glasses and determined the axis was up and down instead of side to side in one of the lenses. Also, my prescription had changed a little and the Eyeglass World guarantee said if the prescription changed in the first year, they would replace the lenses for free. So I got my glasses back after 3 weeks (was told 7 to 10 days) and still couldn't see very well. So I went back to my eye doctor again, and after checking the glasses, found they did not use my most recent prescription, but had used the one from the time before. This was on July 8th, which is the same day I went back to Eyeglass World with my new complaint.
I was apologized to and was told they would put a rush on it this time. I called several times, and finally today, August 5th, they called me and told me they were ready. I went in to pick them up and I couldn't see out of the right lens in the regular glasses, the sunglasses were fine. I asked him to check the right lens, he did, went back to the lab, and came out and said my eyes weren't doing very well with the lenses that were ordered and they would upgrade me at no charge to the better lens that would let me see fine. I questioned why the sunglasses were fine, and the left lens was fine in the regular glasses, why would I not be able to see out of the right eye only. I again was told I'm having problems adjusting to the lenses I ordered. I explained the lenses ordered were at his assistant’s suggestion. My personal opinion is they didn't want to admit they got it wrong the 4th time, which is why they are giving me a "free" upgrade to better lenses. I was told they will put a rush on it, but my last "rush" order took 28 days.
I've had to pay for 3 doctors visits so far, wasted my time and gas trying to get some good glasses (4 visits to Eyeglass World so far), and those 2 months of horrid headaches because of the crooked axis were absolutely awful. I have another doctors appointment scheduled to be sure the prescription is right, which I'm going to have to cancel and reschedule again because I doubt I will have the corrected glasses in time for my next doctors visit. Also, I had received a coupon in the mail for $50 off glasses, and I brought that in today to see if I could get $50 back as I did not have any other discounts at the time I purchased the glasses. I was told I can't do that because it was too long ago. (The fact that as of today I still don't have good glasses seems to be my problem, not theirs). I'm telling everyone I know to not use Eyeglass World. Also, my doctor wouldn't say anything bad about Eyeglass World when I reiterated my ongoing problems, but he shook his head and suggested I "not use them anymore".

I was told that the glasses would be ready Saturday, that was next day. I called the next day around 10 am and was told that they were not ready yet but would be ready by 4 pm. I got called into work and called Eyeglass World and asked if the glasses would be perhaps ready by 3 so that I could pick them up on my way to work. I was told no but "I assure you they will be ready by 4 pm". I asked what time they were open until and I would try to go during my dinner break.
I was not able to go and pick them up. The next day was Sunday and the store was not open so I went on Monday at 11 am to get them. Now mind you, I live approximately 25 miles away from this location so it is not just around the corner. When I got to the store and asked for my glasses, the woman behind the counter seemed to fumble with some boxes and found a box with my name on and said " they are ready, but unfortunately they have not been signed off by a doctor, which is required by Florida law...but they are ready".
I then said, "How do we get them signed off" and was told that the doctor went home sick on Saturday and there was no one to look at my lens. I then asked why no one called me to tell me that they weren't ready for pickup. She explained to me again. "They are ready, they just need to be signed off". I again repeated that someone should have called me considering that they should have been ready two days before. A manager then came up to the desk and again explained that "they were ready but that they needed to be signed off". He explained that the doctor went home sick early on Saturday. I then asked what would have happened if I did take time off from work to pick them up and the glasses weren't ready. He proceeded to explain to me yet again "they are ready; they just can't be picked up". Wow! I said, "Ready means ready...walk out the door with them in your hand. Why did no one call me?" He explained that they were making calls now. Two days later!
Needless to say I left the store with no glasses and a really bad taste in my mouth for this company. Not 10 minutes into my drive home I received a call from a woman from the Eyeglass World telling me, and I quote, "This is so-and-so from Eyeglass World telling you that your glasses are ready to be picked up. We are just waiting for them to be signed and should be ready tomorrow". I stopped her from proceeding any further by saying, "You probably are not aware that I was just at the store and was told I couldn't pick them up". She said, "Yes I was standing there and heard the whole thing". I asked why are you calling me then? She said, "You are on my list" and then hung up!
I called the consumer hotline for the company when I got home and lodged my complaint and was told that I would personally be called by the manager in the store to pick up my glasses and that I would be placed first in line to have them looked at. Okay, it is now mid-afternoon on Tuesday. No call from the manager of the store so I called them to ask what time they open and was told 9 am. I asked if my glasses were ready and signed off and was put on hold for over five minutes. Someone else picked up the phone and asked for my name, which I spelled and was told they had two pairs for someone by the name of X, which is my first name, not my last. I asked why I wasn't called to pick them up and the woman replied in a very snotty voice, "Because I just finished looking at them" and then she hung up on me.
Needless to say I will not be using Eyeglass World for any future glasses. Their loss as there are five of us in the family...each of us wearing glasses! Now I just wonder what will happen when I pick up my glasses. Does ready really mean ready?

I went to the store to pick out new frames. I and my spouse spent a good two hours deciding. I wanted to write the numbers down of the frames. The girl whisked them away. No problem we have a hold bin. She put my name on them. My fault is I should have written them down anyway. I made my appointment for the eye exam. I scheduled it a week and a half out for the last appointment of the day 5:30. I showed up for my appointment five minutes early. I was handed a clip board and told, "Fill this out front and back."
When I asked a question about the form, I was given this waving hand motion just answer the question. The girls at the desk continued their personal conversation and laughing to the extreme. I had another question I was asking about extra money for a test they could provide. A girl in a white coat quickly breezed over the question in technical terms and walked off.
Later, I find out she is my eye doctor. She never did offer to introduce herself. I sat in the chair and said, "Okay, let's start over. My name is Michelle and you are...?" During the exam, her hair got in the way a few times as she leaned in front of the eye chart. The rest of the exam went okay until she pointed the bright light in my eye continually for what seemed like several minutes. I am sure it was all necessary but her "bed side" manner was awful. I was exhausted trying to keep my eye open during this. She explained after she was trying to take a look at the particles floating. A break would have been nice but whatever.
Then she wanted to do a field test. I needed to go to another room for this. The girls at the front desk were suppose to perform this test. They already had their jackets on and their purses on their shoulders, the machines for the test were turned off and covered. They were obviously ready to go home before my appointment was over. The test was inconclusive according to the doctor because I was being distracted by the lamp that was on in the corner and the door to the room opened and closed several times. I was supposed to be in the room with a tech and in the dark.
So the doctor scrapped the test and said we would try the next time when I came back to have my eyes dilated. I tried to pick out new frames after all of this but I had lost interest in this store and everything associated with it. I came back the next day, as they were closing when I left from my exam, to get a refund for the $15 on the test that was inconclusive and to cancel my next appointment. They would not give me my $15 back and said I could see another doctor at the next visit.

I had my eye exam done and decided to (against advice from another already dissatisfied consumer). I ordered my glasses at the time of the exam. I also paid extra for precision lenses. When I was told, I could pick up the glasses. I was appalled at what the outcome was considering the frame was $199 and $60 each lense for precision lenses. I refused the glasses at this point and they said they would have the lab work on them.
However, they filed the lenses to the point they were too small for the frame I bought and they were too small for my face. They also made me dizzy, so I returned to have the strength verified and decided on a different frame since the strength was correct. I was told that it would take approx. 1 - 1/2 weeks which has now been 3 weeks.
I was when I ordered the glasses the first time that they would have to be sent to an outside lab due to the strength and wanting the precision lenses, however did find that they were kept in house. So multiple times, I was given false information by the employees. The employees are not at all good at offering acceptable customer service. This particular store seems to just be very disorganized and in return effects the quality of the work done.

My wife took my mother in and purchased 2 pair of glasses. They didn't call back to let us know they were in, so we called them a few days after they said they would be ready. I took her at the time they said, they would be ready and of course they weren't ready. They as much as called my wife a liar about the time they told her we could pick them up.
They said, they would be ready in 20 minutes which turned into 45 minutes. During that time I got to see that poor service is the norm. No ones glasses were ready. One lady told us that this was her third trip trying to get her order right. I heard the optician (?) place blame on a new computer system and understaffing by corporate even though they had been extremely busy. With that kind of service, they will not have to worry about the extremely busy for long. My wife and I are both in the market for new glasses but we will not be shopping here.

I purchased the offer of 2 pair of single vision glasses from their selected frame section for $78.00 on 10/10/09. After about a month of having the glasses and only wearing them for reading, they began to wear by bending and eventually broke in half. So I then began to wear the second pair, and to my surprise, they are doing the same thing except they are at the brink of breaking in half.
It was my fault because you get what you paid for, but anyway I have tried to call the Eyeglass World and to no avail, as the number just rings off the hook and I never get a person on the line. I did not purchase the extended warranty, but it is my understanding that they are warranted for the first 90 days anyway, but since I could not reach the store and it is now 2 days past my 90 days, I am in a situation that I need help with because if they do in fact answer the phone, I am sure they will say, "Sorry, your 90 days is over.” This is totally a rip off and all I want to do is get them both replaced ASAP as I need them, but at this point, I cannot afford to go out and pay again for glasses. Please advise me as to what to do as I am desperate to get my reading glasses back. Both pairs of glass frames are broken, one broke in half with normal minimal use, and the other is about to do the same thing.

My husband purchased his glasses and frames on 3/21/09 from Eyeglass World. One week ago, he went back there to have his lens put back in the frame as it had popped out. They put it back. Friday, it popped out again and we went back there. They said that we needed to leave them as the screw had broken and the repairman would not be in until Monday. Today, we went back to get them and were told that they did not have a tool to pore the screw out and we should take them to a jeweler to have it removed. I asked them why we should do that when the frames were so new. She said that she could not help us and we should take them to the jeweler. I asked her if there was anyone else that I could speak to, possibly the manager. She said she was the manager and she could not help us. She was not nice.

I called Eyeglass World two weeks ago to confirm that they were a participating provider for my insurance and that they have a good selection of children's frames at a reasonable price. The person that I spoke with on the phone confirmed that they were network providers for my insurance and that they had a wide variety of affordable little girls' frames. I made an appointment that day (6/21/09), giving them all of my insurance information over the phone.
I called this morning to confirm her appointment time. I was told that my appointment was at 12:40 but to come early if I could because the doctor wanted to leave early to go out of town. I took my 7-year-old daughter to her appointment, arriving about 30 minutes early. We were left waiting for an hour. They had a very small waiting room with only 5 chairs. There were about 5 people who had to stand to wait until their appointment.
Finally, when the eye exam was over, I was told that my total was $60. I argued that my copay was only $10. The lady told me that I never told her that I had insurance. I informed her that she wasn't there when we arrived and that I had given all of my insurance information when I made the appointment. She was very rude about the whole situation. The same lady got very frustrated with my 7-year-old, because she wouldn't keep her eye still after the lady told her "Be still, because I'm going to shoot a puff of air into your eye."
After the whole appointment was over, they then informed me that they don't accept my insurance for glasses, only exams, so I would have to pay 100% for her frames and lenses. I said, "No, thank you. I'll go somewhere else that does take my insurance!" By the way, they only had 6 different kinds of frames for girls, just in several different colors; and the cheapest ones were $90! After that, the next cheapest were $130! I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially someone who is taking their child to the eye doctor!

Bait & switch! They advertised 2 pairs for $49, but final cost was nearly $900! I ordered from them on 3/15/09. I was promised delivery the following week. They finally showed up a month later. However, the "in store" exam & prescription wasn't done correctly. After going to my own personal doctor, they reordered with "my" corrected prescription. These finally arrived 1st week of June, 09. For some reason, the 2nd pair wasn't reordered by them until then. I called today, 7/6/09, and they still hadn't reordered the 2nd pair yet! Their explanation was that someone there had "dropped the ball!" I couldn't agree more! I don't understand. With the decrease in the economy, how are these people able to stay in business?! I ordered them on 3/16/09, and nearly 4 months later, I am still waiting!

I went back to the store where I purchased my glasses from - because I wanted to use my warranty protection on frames - only to find out that Eyeglass World no longer carries this style of frame. They tell me they are the discontinued types of frames. The frames were only five months old. The gentleman waiting on me was very rude to me and my wife! He even at one point in time turned his back on us, and started waiting on other customers. I wanted the gentleman to try and call the other stores to find out if they had any of these frames left in their inventory.
I was willing to drive to another location to do the exchange. But the gentleman blew us off instead. He said that he did not want to bother the other store workers since they were shorthanded. But this is our problem - the consumer, which has already paid for their glasses. We get turned away? They have very poor business skills. So I now own two pairs of glasses, one of them broke three months later. I cannot get them exchanged with the types of frames that I bought even with a frame warranty. All Eyeglass World wants to do is have me purchase more glasses and spend more money with them! Buyers, be aware of these real pieces of work!

I went in to order glasses on 3/19/09. After being lied to on the phone about a $99 special (you buy one pair at $99, the other is completely free), I still proceeded to get glasses because I needed them very bad. The salespeople were rude to me. The guy who sold me my glasses was rude and left me waiting while he was on the phone for thirty minutes! Again, I tried to be patient because I needed glasses. Okay, after spending $358.00 on glasses because I have really bad eyesight and got a designer frame, I am still waiting almost a month later for my glasses. I keep getting the runaround from Archie, the store manager, telling me they messed up on my lenses and needed to send them out. They didn't even send them out until March 30th.
Then the manager told me, "Well ma'am, you only spent $327.00 on these glasses!" Is he serious? In this economy, he is lucky I spent my money with them. I am so fed up! I have even called corporate on them and still no glasses! Their problem is they were bought out by some other company and their service has declined. I have never experienced such a lack of respect. If my glasses are not in by tomorrow, I am just going somewhere else. I have been waiting so patiently, because I was trying to be fair to them and their establishment. But they seem to not even care about people and their hard earned money being spent there. Please don't go to this place!

On Saturday Sept 27, 2008, I went into store with my friend who was in need of a eye exam and had insurance benefits. I myself is in the Optical field but my doctors office does not take her insurance and I told her I would accompany her as there are many Optical business that are out there for sales only. Apparantly Eyeglass World is one of them.
Anyways, The office had no one in store (bad sign), so we looked around, no one had greeted us or said one word to us, there were 2 girls at the front desk just talking to each other, 1 of them finally comes over after noticing us looking at them. So my friends gives her the insurance information and the first words out of her mouth was I don't think we take this insurance, but we have a great sale you can use instead So my friends tells her they are providers as Eyeglass World is listed in her provider book, so the girl said she would have to call the insurance for the information,
While we waited over 20 minutes for her to come back, we were lookingat the frames, we sell the exact frames at my store but 10 times cheaper. The sells the frames that are wholesaled at $3.00 to $13.00 dollars to what they call Retail pricing of $139.00 to $329.00. No wonder no one is in the store buying their outragious overpriced frame. Over half the frame are discontinued as well, you wouldn't beable to get parts for them.
So me being in the same field, I just had to ask if they knew if their frames were way redicously over priced and most frames were already discountined. She had no comment for that, So I than asked, What if the frame breaks within 3 months, she told me they would replace the frame for a 20% copay charge. I told her if the frame is a discontined frame (knowing by facts) than what? She said they they would restyle the frame but would have to charge a 20% copay for frame in lens as well. I told her I work in the Optical field, and that would be considered a manufacture defect if frame was to break within the first 3 months, frame is easily returned to manufacture for a full credit, no need for charging for something that the manufacture offers for free.
So buyers beware!!!! stores offering buy one free get the other one or two free are rip offs, they raised the prices of their frames so that all in reality you are paying for the frames, you are not getting them free. Oh, it also turned out that she said my friends insurance was a discount plan (which was a lie to get my friend to purchase their sale). Needless to say, my frind did not buy from there.
false advertisement, bait and switching, telling them their insurance benefits are discount plans and that they would save more money if going by their sales.

She told me to come in anytime and that I didn't need an appointment.
I drove 35 minutes to the Eyeglass World in Melbourne, Florida that afternoon only to find that there were NO eyeglasses in that range! The salesperson took me to a rack marked clearance that was filled with children's frames and told me the $29 frames had to be chosen from this rack but that there weren't any men's frames. I asked her why the coupon said any frame under $79 and she replied that the coupon was only good for clearance frames and there weren't any available.
She did tell me that she could sell me more expensive frames from the clearance rack! I believe this is what is called a bait and switch. I was to try them one week.
At the end of the week, August 11th, I returned and decided to go with the regular glasses instead. I decided on the buy 1 get 2 free sale. I told them that I had just had my exam there and it was in there computer that I had it there and that I paid the $99.00 for the exam. They never mentioned the fact that my exam was to be free with the purchase of the glasses. It was on the paper that they sent home with me. I called the store to ask that they refund the price of the exam to my credit card. They refused saying they don't do refunds. I told them I wasn't returning anything for a refund I just wanted the exam price taken off because I wasn't suppose to be charged with it in the first place. The manager got rude and said all he could do is give me a in store credit. I told him I have no reason to have a store credit because I just bought three pairs of glasses and don't see me needing anymore in the next 2 or 3 years.

After 12 days, I called them. They said the glasses were not in, & it always takes 14 business days. On day 20, I called them again. I was put on hold for 5 minutes the first time, only to have the employee return to the phone, call me by the wrong name, & ask if they were supposed to mail my glasses. After giving her my name again, I was put on hold for 10 minutes, at which point I hung up & called back.
I asked for the manager. I was put on hold for 15 minutes, at which point I hung up & called back. I explained to the employee that I had paid my credit card bill with that $401 charge 2 weeks ago & I needed an explanation as to what was going on. I suggested she put the manager on the phone without putting me on hold. She said that was impossible--she had to put me on hold to put the call through to the manager. She put me on hold for another 10 minutes, at which point I hung up & drove 20 minutes to that store.
The manager, Deborah Reese, was right there by the phone, expecting me. She told me that she just that moment found out from the company making the glasses that they had broken the frames that we had chosen, & they had no others like them. She never offered to find another pair like them, & she was extremely surprised that I expected to get my money back.
As it turns out, the store can accept credit cards, but the machine magically cannot refund credit cards. Only corporate can approve a refund. Of course it takes 3 weeks just to process the request. So far they still owe me $401.

At that point I was scared to trust my eyes to unprofessionals. They said they didnt give refunds and refeered my to a customer service number. They of course were not going to refund my money. This is the sorriest excuse for a company that I have dealt with. I took a pair of frames into Eyeglass World to have the lenses changed to my subscription. We were going on a cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary. This was 04/07. I was told that they would be back in time for me to have them on vacation. May, 07, I was told that they had lost my frames because they had sent them to FLA to have the lenses put in.
Went in there after vacation and was told that they had never found my frames and was told by Heather that I could pick out any pair of frames that I wanted. July of 07, Heather called me that they had found my frames in Knoxville, TN. She them told me that I could come in and they would remeasure my frames and send them off again. Sent them off again and in Sept. 07, I went in to pick up my frames and I couldn't even see out of them. In the meantime Eyeglass World had turned me over my collection for a pair of lenses that I had never received. I talked with Jessica in customer service and asked her what was going on. She was the most rude person that I have had to deal with. What has happened to customer service in this country? I had my lenses marked again and Heather flagged my frames and said that they were not going to remake my lenses again, but they wanted me to pay for a pair of lenses that I did not have. I still don't have my glasses and this is Feb. 08. What is the consumer supposed to do when you have managers that are brain dead about taking care of their customers?
I have a pair of titanium frames that Eyeglass World cannot fix. I have wasted a year of my time fooling with this sorry excuse for a concerned company that needs to shut its doors.

I went into the eyeglass world office today to get my eyes checked for contact lenses. when I walked in the door the receptionist was so nice and courteous. she advised they could get me in to see the doctor right away. the moment I walked into the doctors office he was rude. I have never in my life dealt with anyone this mean and hateful. through the whole exam he said rude things. he asked me if I would like my eyes dilated and I told him no I am driving and I have my children. his reponse was well if you can't see don't blame me. I sort of laughed it off. then my 4 year old child asks him what is your name? the doctor just ignored him and grabbed him by the arm and put him to the side. I wanted to walk out of that office so fast. the exam contiued with much of the same thing.then my 4 year dhild asked another question and the doctor snapped his fingers, my son was so scared he ran out of the office. I paid for my services and now I wonder if the exam was even done correctly. I will be filing a complaint with my insurance company as well. I had an option to buy contact lenses through eyeglass world but declined because of the rude service by the doctor. I will look to other avenues for my family's eyecare needs.

I spent over $600 on glasses I cannot wear. I need my money back to be able to go elsewhere and buy glasses that I can see out of.

I have paid $900 for one lens on an old pair of glasses to be fixed. They do not return calls and tell you there isn't any way of checking on the progress of my order.

I purchased three pairs of glasses. One for reading, one for computer use and one with progressive lens. It took six weeks before I got them. They had not called me when ready. I also had gone in three times to see if they were ready. I have both caller ID and voice mail so I would know if they had called. I picked them up three days before I left for a one month vacation. The progressive lens glasses started popping their lens out three times on my trip. One time I had to pay $20 to have them repaired and a lens still popped out later. One lens was lost for two days but finally found on the floor on board the cruise ship. Both lens were scratched due to landing on concrete floors or being stepped on. I had to wear my prescription sun glasses at night so I could see. When I got back home I took them in to have the scratched lens replaced and get reimbursed for my cost to have them fixed. The manager said I would have to pay $86 (my share after their insurance paid them) to have new lens and they could not refund my cost in having them fixed. He said if I had contacted them within 30 days they could have taken care of it. I wasn't here, I was on vacation and certainly did not carry their number with me nor did I expect to have any problems. He implied that I may have mis-treated my glasses and therefore could not help me. How unreasonable can you be? My traveling companion witnessed the problem I was having with my glasses but the manager said that didn't matter to him (implying I was not telling the truth). These glasses have not been resolved, I'm still wearing them scratched.
My computer glasses were the wrong prescription and they are taking care of that problem at no charge, but I still have to wait up to another three weeks before they come back.
I am very dis-satisfied with the company. I'm a professional person and bend over backwards to help a client if there is a problem, even to the point of refunding their money to make them happy even though it wasn't my fault. Public relations is very important and they sure don't seem to care about that aspect.
Scratched lens, repair cost while away.

Ordered a pair of prescription eyeglasses beginning of June 07 and said eyeglasses should arrive in 2 weeks - once they get your money - you are at their mercy. They were quick to take the money - but could never give me a valid reason why the eyeglasses took so long. All I kept hearing was should be here tomorrow - this went on for over two and a half weeks. No real answers... just excuses. Last time I deal with Eyeglass World. Manager(s) always too busy dealing with new clients or eyedoctors to field any calls - oh yes - and when they put you on hold - you might as well take a power nap. I am picking up my eyeglasses today - this ought to be interesting.

the progressive lens. The clerk told me
they didn't give refunds because they had already made the more expensive lens that didn't work for me. So, here I am.......paying for the more expensive progressive lens and getting the cheaper lens. So much for their thirty day guarantee. The same thing happened to my daughter and her store in Colorado did give her a refund. Looks like I'm stuck paying for something I didn't get.
