I went in to have one tooth pulled, I said to the assistant I really need them all pulled (16). I had bad teeth from an illness, next thing I know I am talking to their financial agent who is explaining credit card (CareCredit). I am on SSDI so I have limited income, he asked me what I could pay monthly. We agreed on $128.00 and he is that can be done, and that there is a promotional of 18 months interest free, so I have the opportunity to pay it off in full in those 18 months. If not I get the occurred interest plus balance... Stupid me thought wow that is great. I can handle that. I thought this was great. I can just get all my teeth at one and dentures. What a relief. So I get my first payment 128.00 plus $56.00 of interest!
I am scammed by Financial Agent at Highland Indiana Aspen dental. I would of never sign or agreed to anything like this if he didn't assure me of the cost!!! And now that I look back I believe I was so overwhelm with their aggression on getting me to get all this work. I truly believe I was taken advantage of but I have no way out because I have no teeth and they have my dentures and now I have to high a payment and owe money I can't pay... Thank you Aspen Dental! By the way the temporary denture kill my mouth. I hope in 5 months my permanent dentures are much better but I truly don't have any faith.

I had a tooth fall off my denture. Called the Temple, TX location and must have gotten a "call center". That person set me up with an appointment to fix my denture. I inquired if it would have to be sent out and he responded that all Aspen Dental centers have a Lab Tech on site. I asked the estimated price to "glue" the tooth back on and he said $89.00. Went to the 5:15 PM appointment and was told that they do a full set of x-rays and a dental exam for new patients. I asked why for a denture repair and was told "because it is policy".
After the x-rays and in the exam room I said that all I want is the denture fixed. The lady left and brought back the girl I spoke to up front who informed me that I said that I did not want an exam. She was right in that I saw no need to have an exam to have a denture repaired. She then said that I would have to return after 10 AM tomorrow. I expressed my disbelief in all of this and departed the location. I would not recommend Aspen Dental, Temple for anything much less dental service.

Aspen Dental in Niskayuna NY. is completely piero exams on all patients. They do me and my son with gingivitis. They refused to clean my teeth unless I paid $194 each for me and my son for a gingival cleaning vs a preventative cleaning. We have regular 6 months appointment and gingivitis was never discussed until today. My son is 19. I went for a second opinion and was told neither of us have gingivitis. The office is scamming people out of money by diagnosing patients with gingivitis and making them pay for a more expensive cleaning. I asked to opt out of the gingival cleaning and the Dentist said no and gave ultimatum to pay or no cleaning or go get second opinion. This office is committing fraud and has poor ethical standards forcing patients to pay for a service and not have legal option to sign a waiver.

The truth about Aspen Dental, It happened to me. First appointment, xrays and plan to fix my teeth and prices. "ALL YOUR TEETH ARE PULLED FOR FREE. YOU ONLY PAY AT THE TIME WE INSTALL YOUR DENTURES. TOTAL PRICE IS $2,082.00." Ok. Second appointment I sit down to have my teeth pulled, sign this, TOOTH extraction form, I write this on the form, "When are you going to fit me for my dentures?" Now big problem. The office manager comes in, she says, "You can't write this on this form. You are only here to have your teeth extracted." I say, "What about the plan to install dentures." She says, "There is no plan, we are only going to extract your teeth."
Since I now have NO PLAN then how much are they going to charge me for EXTRACTING MY TEETH THAT WERE BEING EXTRACTED FOR FREE UNDER THE PLAN THAT I RECEIVED ON MY FIRST VISIT? Do you see the problem? If I write down that I am suppose to get fitted for dentures then they can't charge me for pulling my teeth that is suppose to be free according to the plan, yes I have a copy of the plan. First they give you a plan with free teeth pulling and then when you come in to have your teeth pulled they say there is no plan. I think this is a scam. The only reason that this scam didn't work is because I wrote on their tooth extraction form "When am I being fitted for my dentures." I think Aspen Dental should be closed down. It happened to me and I am writing this here so that it doesn't happen to you.

Maxed out insurance benefits and my own wallet in a blink - Went to Aspen Dental in Clermont because it seems like a nice new office. I was forced to look for a new dentist because my own dentist retired in October. I am a person that religiously go to my twice a year dental cleaning, and I always take care of any dental issues right away. Had my first appointment with Aspen on the first week of March 2018. As soon as I get in there, they all seem to be nice, but in reality all they want is to empty your pockets and the insurance pocket. I was checked by the doctors, and then sent to a back financial room with a lady to discuss my financial options, like in a new car dealer after you like the car you want to buy.
Keep in mind that I don't really blame any employees for the wrongdoings to me, but unfortunately everybody at that office is trained to look after your money, and not look at what you really need. I have a very good dental history, and I was shocked when they told me I have gingivitis. I had a very special doctor that treated me for what I needed, and not for unnecessary things. They say my bone and my gums are dropping, and of course they would drop because I am almost 44 years old, and I don't have the gums of a 20 year old. They say I needed a deep cleaning with **, and my insurance didn't want to pay for that **, and I now know why. That stuff is just a bunch of Stuff that they put on me that was not needed.
Anyway. On the very first visit they maxed out my insurance benefits, and at the same time they charged me about 650 bucks that I need to pay from my pocket to the credit card they opened for me at their office. I asked when I walked in there for an insurance covered dental cleaning, and they refused to do the regular cleaning. They know that if they did the regular cleaning, and sent me home, they would not see my insurance and my own deep pockets. After they were done the so called periodontal gum cleaning, they called me back again to the financing desk to discuss my financials for the next periodontal cleaning that they scheduled for me for 4 weeks from now. That second call to the financing desk made me not want to see them again.
They didn't disclose to me that on top of the money they already charged me and my insurance on the first visit, I was supposed to keep paying hundreds of dollars for follow up visits. Next visit they had it scheduled with a charge for 169, and I had to stop them. I made my decision to not go back to that office right in front of the financing guy. No regular dental cleaning was done to me, I have the best teeth that my retired doctor kept beautiful for me, and I am now in a nonsense debt with the credit card company they opened for me, and the balance of almost 700 I have to pay them, and now my insurance benefits have been maxed out. It all happened in a matter of two visits, and I don't know what I would do if something happens to my teeth for the rest of the year now that my insurance benefits were immediately taken maxed out during my first visit.

To my surprise!!! As I walked into Aspen Dental which was to be my last appointment in my mind with them... I was overwhelmed with the Good mornings, on New smiling faces!!! Seems the old staff had been Completly replaced completely! (I had even tossed around calling local TV stations to help me with billing... And the Better Business office.) In the past they spoke when they needed to... And each visit, I was quoted new prices... I even paid my bill in full... back in 11/16 and just recently received a collection notice for three times the amount of the paid in full check! Which is NOW being investigated by the new staff! They even agreed something was wrong!
Each time I went... there was a rush to pull teeth... but not this time! Everything was different... Even my cleaning... Had more to it than ever before! I actually had a nice time (can you believe). Ohhh I still will check to see my insurance paid the full amount. And that I wasn't overcharged! Building trust takes time. I kept going to Aspen for the convenience... But I choose which procedures I had done. I will do a few check backs on billing... But I feel almost assured that this is the starts of a new office! It took me years to get back into a dental routine!!! My thoughts were to stay out of pain... and to keep them clean! I now use preventive measures... And will go regularly.
As I read this back I can't imagine why I have stayed so long with Aspen (Fear. Convenience," the known" I actually would rather give birth... Than to go to a dentist). I honestly don't know why I have stayed. But for the first time in my life this week... I actually left smiling. And hopefully... I will not need to call anyone for help! The investigation is ongoing finally! I would like to Thank the girls at Aspen Glastonbury CT for being there... For treating me with respect... And for the wonderful changes!!! I ask you to give the new wonderful people at Aspen one more chance... I don't think you will be sorry!

On September 13, 2017 I went in and had 27 teeth pulled by the surgeon, the healing went as smooth as can be expected. The problem started when I noticed my EOB's (total of 5) started coming in with different allowances than the pre determinations, after many calls to insurance company I found that the billing department sent the bill out saying I went to a location over 50 miles from my house (Aspen is 10 minutes away). I am now waiting for the updated (I hope updated) EOB's from insurance so I can get the remainder of the money back. At least I hope I can without a big fight.
My dentures, well I went for the Classic with the option to upgrade to the most expensive ones in 6 months (was also looking at getting implants). Now I made the appointment for the final hard reline, the assistant thought I was getting the expensive ones and took impressions for them. I told her I was not getting them, she left the room went and talked to office manager, came back and took me to the little waiting room. About 15 minutes later she came back and told me that the lab was backed up (they didn't schedule in me not getting the expensive ones) and that it would not be ready until tomorrow, but they will get it pushed through and it should take about 2 hours, so I waited in office.
When they came to get me I thought this was done, NOT so a different technician said she was going to do a soft reline, I didn't question it at the time but should have asked why I need a soft reline right after a hard reline? (I had 8am appointment & left about 12 noon). I went back the following week to get the crap taken off the dentures from the soft reline (to smooth them out) here I questioned why the soft reline I was told sometimes that's done to give a cushion. Not feeling like going into anything at the time. I should go back and get things fixed but after thinking this over I am going get a refund and go someplace where I feel like they care. I will also be canceling my daughter's appointment and find another place for my husband to get his work done. As of today I am 3 weeks into my questionable hard reline, and looking for another Dr. to redo my dentures.

Aspen Dental Stuart Florida - In Sept 2016 I went to Aspen to get an evaluation. I explained to them that I had approx. $6,000 to work with. That there was certain dental work I needed done. At that point they advised me to try for credit & I was approved for $3,000. Now with $9,000 to work with I needed a plan. Met with Dr. ** Nov. 2016 and we came up with a plan. Involved pulling teeth, sinus lift, bone graft and 2 implants 1 on each side of my upper mouth and finally permanent partials. I already had another implant that was completed by another dentist that was in the plan to finish with abutment & crown. In order to have enough money Dr.** advised me to wait for their surgeon who would be starting in March 2017. (4 months later) I had already paid them $5,800.00 with $3,000 more in credit. By waiting I was assured I would have enough money to complete my dental work.
On 3/21/17 day of surgery I was handed an invoice for close to $14,000. $5,000 more then I was quoted. Please understand I had waited yrs to get this work done. Was very excited to start the process. They wanted me to sign it. I refused and told them I needed to speak to Dr. ** because that was not the amount he and I agreed upon. Office personnel said they would speak to him. My surgery went as planned. I have had nothing but issues since. Within 1 wk of surgery a bump developed on my gum where the implant was put in. Not 1 of their dentists have been able to tell me what it is or seem to care enough to find out. It has been rubbing on my temp. partial causing pain in that area. My partial has never fit right. Because of the repeated visits to fix my partial they offered to make me a new partial called a flex for free. Well it wasn't free. Soon after, I received a bill for $950.
After calling month after month (5 in all) they finally took it off. But I had to call every month complaining before they finally removed. Next step was to complete the implant that was already started by another dentist. Put in abutment and then crown. The temporary abutment was suppose to be put in during surgery. Well they had the wrong size, so I had to reschedule. Go back 2 weeks later put in abutment. Wait the 3 wks to heal, go back to have removed and permanent put in. The dentist could not get the abutment out. Again had to reschedule and wait 3 wks for surgeon to be in office to take out the abutment. Go back he removes post and the crown (tooth) put in. Well tooth was wrong color & too big. I voiced my opinion to the Dr. He kept telling me it was fine. (You'll get used to it) is what he said. Well I hated it. Not only was it too big it had a green/blue color.
Rescheduled again to show them what I was seeing and the dentist on duty absolutely agreed. (A completely different Dr.) Now they had to cut this tooth out & once again redo tooth which entails putting temp tooth in, waiting 3 weeks while they get tooth made rescheduling and having permanent tooth put in. I ended up having to go back 3 more times because the tooth was always too big and wrong color. In between those visits I also had to deal with the temporary tooth falling out and having to make another appt to have the temp tooth put back in. Both times over a weekend. One of those times on a Friday while visiting my father in an Atlanta Hospital. Had to go entire weekend without a front tooth. After 4 attempts to get it right I get to the point that the tooth is as good as it’s gonna get and accept it. (I'm tired.) Took from April 2017 to Oct 2017 14 visits to get it right. 1 tooth.
They still have not finished my upper left implant or the permanent partials because they say I have to pay to finish. Even though I was told it was included in my original quote. Every time I was in the office in the last year they would hand me the inflated proposal for $14,000 and every time I would tell them I'm not signing it until I speak to Dr. **. Well here I am one year later and still no call or meeting. Was told by the office manager that she has no idea why he won't call me. Short of her dialing the phone and handing it to him. She doesn't know what to tell me. I'm truly tired and want resolution.
Since filing complaints and putting it out on social media I have gotten a call from the office telling me they would be glad to meet with me. It's amazing that happened within one week of my first social media post and complaint. I will never allow them to touch me again. I've included a photo of the tooth they put in and said the size was fine. I still am without back teeth because I cannot afford to finish the work they started. The work they said would be included in my initial quote.

When I went to Aspen Dental in Arnold, MO the first time for a tooth to be pulled, a visiting doctor took care of me and everything went really well. Then I was told that I needed to come back a week later to see the actual dentist that works there to see if he determined the same care as the first dentist. While I was waiting to be seen, the doors were never closed to give the patient privacy so I heard everything. The first thing that was a red flag was the dentist would say the exact same thing in every room he went into, like he was reading a script and EVERY person he saw supposedly needed dentures. The dentist even carried the dentures from room to room in his pocket.
When he got to my room, he was interrupted twice with other issues (I had already been there for 1-1/2 hrs at this point) and told me that I needed to still see the nutritionist and the financial person because my only option would be upper dentures. The nutritionist said that I needed periodontal care also. Then I saw the financial person and she had put together a plan, which I stated I would need a second opinion before I chose the direction that I planned to go. I was assured that nothing would be charged to my account until work began. A few days later, I picked up my xrays and took them to another dentist and to my surprise, I actually have 4 options to fix my teeth and I don't need periodontal care.
They also pointed out 2 infections that were on my xrays. Aspen never said anything about an infection there. So at that point, I chose to go with the other dentist but when I went to increase the amount on my CareCredit card, it said that my card had already been charged $2100 from Aspen dental!! I called Aspen and they said they would refund the money asap and later when I was looking over the receipt, I saw that they charged me for an electric toothbrush in the amount of $135!
They NEVER even talked to me about a toothbrush, they just added it to my bill!!! There seems to be a lot of shady stuff going on there. I just want to warn people that don't pay attention to detail, LOOK OVER EVERYTHING if you choose to go there and if your gut tells you something is wrong, it usually is. Also, my appointment at Aspen was scheduled for 5:30pm and I was just supposed to be examined to see if he agreed with the fill-in dentist. I didn't get out of there until almost 8:30pm.

This is to state a grievance regarding your dental clinic in Douglasville. My son & I started services with Aspen Dental around May 2016. We both needed work and things started fairly well with Dr. **. Nicholas my son needed some extensive work. In July, the office manager told me he would need to see a specialist to do a root canal and his allowed dental benefits from both my husband’s & my insurance were exhausted. Therefore, we needed to pay cash for the canal. We are a working family & did not have the $1000.00 to pay for the canal.
I specifically requested that the clinic continue to do as much as possible to help prevent additional complications. Explaining that my husband & I would try to find a way to pay for his canal. Then somewhere towards the end of September, or October. The manager said they had gone as far as they could until he got the canal. Again, I specifically asked about the other work he needed. It was reiterated to me “the root canal would have to be completed to proceed.” In December, I saw Nicholas still had $900.00 in dental benefits. We went to the specialist and managed to get the root canal done.
The beginning of 2017, I sincerely thought we would get all of this completed & be good to go. Boy! Was I wrong! We were back, ready to go another round and we are knocked flat on our butt. Right from the start, Nicholas needed another root canal. In a different area of his mouth. This is after being repeatedly told “WE HAVE GONE AS FAR AS WE CAN”. This whole experience has been one disappointment after another from the beginning. I do not understand why, if everything that could be done was completed, why his problem happened in a different area of his mouth. We were manipulated at the expense of our child’s dental & physical health. It is my belief that Aspen Dental is responsible for the advancement of the problems with his teeth. We are in the same position; we do not have a THOUSAND dollars to pay for a root canal. This is ridiculous!
I talk with Dr. ** about the temporary or “baby canal” as it they called it. She told me it would be a temporary fix. However, it could last for months, even a few years if his teeth were still young. She was also under the impression he was in his 20’s because of his size. Since we did not/DO not have the money for the specialist again, I opted to go ahead, hoping to buy time. Here we are again, being pounded & told he has to have the canal done. Yes, I am the one who chose the temporary fix. But Aspen Dental is the one who chose NOT to do anything last year!!!
During this time, I also experienced some problems with my dental work. The temporary crown on the left upper back tooth crumbled after a few days. It took 4 days to get a return call to have it replaced. After the permanent crown was in place. I called several times to mention it, did not feel right, and would have a bad taste at times, as if it were a cavity. Once again, no real response. In February, the crown fell off. I guess I swallowed it. It took almost a week before I got an appointment to come in to have it looked at. I was told the reason for the failure of the crown was; I had allowed it develop decay. Even though that particular tooth was broken, it had never been painful or given any indication of problems.
The reason the crown placement failed is; it was not made and placed correctly. When I went to have it repaired, the clinic manager, called me to the back, to inform me, my insurance would not pay for that procedure & the cost was $435.00. I mentioned to her, the reason they do not want to cover the procedure is that it was done just a couple of months before. The circumstances changed. I felt this was something she should have looked at before calling me back to collect a payment. Aspen Dental had used all of 2016 allowed amount, I was not a new customer! That same tooth is still not right. It hurts, and can be very sensitive.
Now on the 3rd note. I guess we are glutens for punishment. My husband went at the end of the year to see about having all of his teeth pulled & having dentures placed. He did not really expect to get it done 3 days later. Which also happened to be the last Friday of 2016. Dr. ** was in a hurry, the conversation between the tech and she reflected this. It took longer than expected; the clinic closed early on Fridays not to mention a holiday weekend. Would not a professional clinic anticipate possible problems with someone who needed Extreme Extensive work? He has suffered tremendously because of the rush job. Not to mention the staff has spoken & treated him in a very derogatory manner multiple times. No one had an issue when he signed the agreement to make the monthly payments.

I visited the Aspen Dental location in Dallas, Ga. I planned to get the 800.00 dollar dentures, I was talked into the most expensive set, 3x the price. If those were their best I would hate to see their cheap ones. I kept sending my old ones to the lab so they could see what dentures were supposed to look like. I kept going back and going back until I decided they were just taking them to the lab, rinsing them off and bringing them back. They were rough, teeth and gum part, and they had sharp places that cut my mouth. The bottom dentures stuck up on the right side and the top set hung down on the left side. I finally got a power file for fingernails and fixed them myself. Very slow go. Moral to story; For dentures go to a place that only does dentures.

I live in Connecticut and went to the Manchester Aspen Dental and was extremely dissatisfied with the experience I had there... I came in after a few years of not going to a dentist and I expected to have a few issues. Turns out I had over 30 cavities and needed a root canal on one tooth. Pretty bad all things considered. So they start me off with a plan and credit because I can't afford an over 8000 dollar bill! They do not work with my insurance and made it seem like I had no choice but to get it done immediately with them. I wasn't given much information on what was really wrong, just a basic "you need this done or it will get worse or you could lose your teeth." I set up an appointment and they start drilling away at my teeth. Didn't even do a cleaning first just started taking out chunks of tooth.
When I went to a respectable dentist in the past it would take them 45 min or so to do just one cavity. These guys did 4 or 5 in that time and it felt extremely rushed. Not to mention I had to stop every single time between cavities to get more **. Did not seem to be very good quality, I needed at least 2 full syringes of ** until I was finally numb enough to not feel the work being done. I was in quite some pain until they finally got me numb enough. So once they finally finished every single one of my teeth, not even a month down the road I started losing fillings. In total I believe I've lost 9 of them so far and had to have them refilled... That is absurd. I have never had fillings fall out like this place. I honestly feel like they use subpar dental supplies and charge top dollar for them. No one told me what was going into my dental plan or the things I would be paying for.
It would have cost me an extra 3000 to get the root canal done so I'm just going to pull the tooth. The prices are ridiculous and they claim to work with people who don't have insurance. They just put you in debt with a 5 year credit plan. Please save yourself the hassle and pain, just go to a better dentist. Something needs to be done about this place, I see countless other stories like mine on review boards and it seems like no one cares. I can't really sue I don't think because I haven't met "strict criteria" according to the laws of dental abuse.
So now I'm kind of stuck paying overpriced bills for work I'm extremely unsatisfied with. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this money hungry company. They need to be stopped or at least investigated. My whole family goes there and we all have bad stories about their practice. Oh and now a year down the road, I have 6 more cavities in the same teeth I've already had drilled and filled. I brush twice a day like I'm told and still end up with more work to be done.

My initial exam was great. X-ray techs are super, and that was what made me decide to pay $1100 up front to proceed. Then it was all downhill. I waited at least an hour each appt. Darlene, who did my deep teeth cleaning was interrupted at least 3 times because they were behind, when I got home I held a flashlight to my teeth and there was still tartar in 2 places. I had 2 teeth filled and he did do a really good job. I had a tooth extracted by the Dr. He chipped the tooth next to it and never said a word about it, and I didn't know because I was too numb to feel it. It was very noticeable and very sensitive for a while. I refused to go back to last check up for $148 and started getting billed for $46 which was for mouth rinse I refused. I was told since I had a plan I had to pay it until last visit then it would be deducted. I said, "No, you have the product, deduct it."
After my 3rd call and very angry, I haven't heard from them. I was twice given an appt. to come in and they canceled. One day was a holiday and the other the Dr. was off. I get anxious in the waiting room because you sit there so long, and in addition the girls were up and down and whispering like there's a problem in the back. It just feels chaotic. I could be wrong, but with the long waits and procedure interruptions and plenty of staff it seems as if no one knows how to schedule or they just wanted to get as many people in the door to pay for procedures up front, and who cares if people wait for hours. I would like to say to the Dr., the least you could of done is filled my tooth while I was under, especially since you couldn't let me know. Great techs though.

My very good friend was in need of major dental work. After weeks of telling her she had nothing to worry about she made the call got a app. Was told she would get dentures on top and a partials on bottom. She is terrified of dentists so she asked to be out for the procedure. She did everything ask of her. I kept telling her everything was going to be fine. WELL I WAS WRONG. All they did was pull 4 teeth and told her everything else was extra over $2500.00 for getting 4 teeth pulled. She was told when she woke up from the anesthesia she would have new teeth and be ready to go. This place should lose their right to run a business in Vermont (Berlin). She will never trust a dentist again because ASPEN DENTAL LIES TO GET YOUR MONEY AND LEAVES YOU HANGING. This place should be shut down by the state but as usual they will get away with ripping off the public.

I am writing this review to warn others not to go to this Aspen Dental (Jonesboro, AK). I lost my temporary bridge called flippers so I went in to get a replacement. The costs for this were over $1200 and they kept demanding me to use them for other cleanings etc. The flipper they made only had one tooth and it was suppose to have two. Then, I wore it for a day and my gums started to bleed. I have tried to schedule an appointment to have this done, all of a sudden they have no appointment for another week. Of course, I am not paying additional money. Avoid this company. Aspen Dental is a money making enterprise and why should people pay all of this money. It cost less to go to a doctor. I am miffed that dental prices are unregulated. Also, comments I have heard are why do people only come in when they have problems. Simple answer: they cannot afford this PRICES!

When my husband and I went for xray and cleaning we got an exam, extensive x-rays and a treatment plan in the thousands of dollars. Oh--but they set you up with credit too. This is a money making corporation, not just a caring dental office. I have no doubt my husband and I both have gum problems. But my husband also has blood cancer. A condition that they never even reached out to his oncologist to see if a scaling of his gums would worsen. We will not get the "work" done by them, but will try to find a caring dentist in this new area we have moved to less than a year ago.

My husband and I went to the Aspen Dental clinic located in Strongsville, Ohio. My husband was the patient and he was a new patient. We saw Dr. ** or Dr. ** (as known there). We went there for regular checkup. As a new patient, The doctor had done the X-rays and consultation only. He advises that my husband had to extract two wisdom teeth. And also advised us for scaling/cleaning with some advanced antibacterial protection in the teeth in the next visit. When we were given the price estimate, It was insane. They quoted $2434 Just for the cleaning or scaling. With our insurance coverage, We would have to pay $1429 from our pocket. The total cost of $2434 only for cleaning or scaling with one follow up visit is beyond our understanding. So we will not do any treatment. I will never never and never go there back and also strongly suggest everyone who is reading this not to come in their trap and do any treatment. Never go there. Avoid, Avoid.

We have good dental insurance. According to Aspen we don’t. Wrong admission of guilt from Aspen. They decided to quote us a 4 thousand plus bill. However then they gave us 1,400 bill quote saying our insurance was only covering 31 dollars. Well Being we were aware what our insurance does and doesn’t cover we knew they were frauding us. Looking at these complaints it seems this is Aspen's business practice. How is it they have not been investigated. Oh wait. Don’t worry. We have already been in contact with the proper people to start this probe. If they want to do it to us we will do it to them.
This place deals with a lot of seniors. I'm sure they are crushing them and prob overcharging their insurance. This is a probe I will be now looking to get into. Sometimes companies mess with the wrong individuals. Being this was trying to be done to us we have decided to return the favor. Some might just walk away and not follow up. This is clearly going on to hundreds of people. Aspen called admitted guilt. Our new quote was no longer in the thousands. Amazing what following up can do. Do not and I mean do not allow these crooks to take your money. We told the girl there what our insurance covers. They didn’t want it hear it. Please read all these or some reviews. You will see this company has pulled the scam many times over. It will stop here. I hope they enjoyed their unfair practices. I believe a civil lawsuit now is in order.

I work 50 hours a week and go to school full time. I have been trying to find a dentist to fit my schedule. At first I scheduled an appointment with the office in Frankfort, Ky. They left me sitting in the lobby for an hour and a half but yet taking people back that didn't have an appointment and someone who was a half hour late. I then scheduled an appointment with Aspen Dental in Lexington, Ky. I scheduled a cleaning. Dentist did stay and told me work that needed, a couple of fillings and redo my crown. That's fine. I asked, "Was I not getting a cleaning", he said the lady was out with the flu but sent me to the person who does billing. She told me that day that everything was $473.00. She asked for payment then without scheduling appointments. I asked her, "Can't I at least get my cleaning first." We agreed on the cleaning appointment.
She told me that was $30. I said my cleanings are free why am I paying $30. Was told it was the fluoride. Ok whatever. I Pay the $30 and schedule cleaning appointment. Go to the "cleaning appointment" the hygienist points to a filling saying that it was a bone or gum disease. I said, "That's a filling." She said I needed to talk to someone about treatment. The guy tells me $1627. I said, “No, I just want my cleanings, and I’ll pay for the fillings.” He tried to connect me with a company to make payments. I said, “No, don't need them, I'm not getting the other services.” He then tried to show me a breakdown. I said, “Funny you have different amounts than what I was given last visit.” He said, “Oh the insurance only pays so much.” I said, “I'm not getting those other services so we should be back at 4 something,” and at a glance I see $600+.
I said, “I just want my cleaning and you guys need to figure out the bill.” He told me I wasn't getting a cleaning today. I said that see what my appointment was for and that's why I paid the $30. He said, “No she was just looking at you today.” I said, “No, I paid for a cleaning and scheduled a cleaning.” He said, “Well let me go talk to someone.” He came back and said, “I apologize, you're not getting a cleaning.” I said, “Well give me my $30 back as I see our relationship is not going to work.” How have I been there 3 times and still haven't had a cleaning. Never again in life. Do not go to Aspen Dental unless you want to be ripped off.

I went to Aspen Dental to get a root canal on the molar on my top right side. So they did the root canal and ordered the cap. They put the cap on and it fell out of my mouth before I got home (not exaggerating). So I had to make two more last minute appointments so they could order a new cap to replace the one that fell out. A new cap! So the first one wasn't correct? Okay and here I am in the current day and I spoke to my primary dentist earlier today who happens to be a family friend. She told me that I was never suppose to get a cap on my tooth at all. I was supposed to get a root canal, then have a filling on my real tooth. So now here I am with my molar completely shaved down to a stub in my gum, and I was never actually supposed to lose my tooth at all.
ASPEN DENTAL DESTROYED MY MOLAR FOR NO REASON AT ALL. Now I just have no molar and I spent a very very hefty amount for this root canal that completely messed my teeth up for life. I can't chew on the right side of my mouth as of rn, and BTW I'm only 19 years old having to deal with these problems. Do not go to Aspen Dental.

I went with a dental card they offered and they indicated they'd charge 2/3 today to the card and the rest after my follow up visit. Well two months later I'm getting a past due bill from them for $400! They certainly don't give all information up front and now I'm stuck with a bill due now I thought I'd be able to break up over the next year. Not only that but they 'fit me in' after my original exam, I was there for 3 hours, one of which I was sitting numbed up in a waiting room, by the time I was actually getting worked on I could feel a good portion of the work in my mouth!! Seriously the worst experience I've ever had!

I visited the Aspen Dental in Savannah. On my first visit, they took a large amount of x-rays - which for most dentists is normal during the first visit. I have been on a 2-cleaning a year routine for the past 10 years (plus) and was only switching dentist because my current one always runs late on his appointments (sometimes up to 30 minutes) and that is just one of my pet peeves.
So I go through all the x-rays, sit through the initial exam, talk with the Dr. and then see the "plan coordinator" about what my treatment plan should be. I should have known something was up when I spoke to the Dr. She wanted to pull a perfectly good tooth because she assumed that it was causing issues for the tooth next to it - because x-rays did show some bone loss over time. I am 54, so yes I assume some bone lost to be normal and my last dentist has been maintaining and watching this also and noticed no rapid loss. So instead of saying, "Let's watch this and if we notice issues with that tooth, let's consider pulling." No. She went straight for the pull. I have no loose teeth, and my gums do not bleed.
So back to the plan coordinator, because the x-ray showed bone loss, they wanted to do a full periodontal treatment - also recommended the antibiotic for gum pockets, prescription toothpaste and wash. After insurance it was going to be about $800 out of pocket just for the office treatments. So I said at this time, I could not afford the $800 - so let's just do the scheduled cleanings and maintenance and see how well I can maintain the "current" condition. With that she said no - that they could not do cleaning and maintenance on my teeth since x-rays showed bone loss. It was that they would not - not could not.
My previous dentist has been during cleanings and I have been maintaining fine. I pushed back and she pushed harder that they would not even clean my teeth. So I left. Bottom line - is that not even providing the basic cleaning and dental work for some because that have some bone loss - implies (at least in my opinion) that Aspen Dental is more interested in making money than really providing dental care. Shameful!

A week before my scheduled appointment, my dentist office notified me that I no longer had dental insurance. Upon checking, I learned that my insurance was accidentally termed for nonpayment. Since I was due for my 6 mo. cleaning & possible xrays, I called my reg dentist back, plus 2 other dentist about a price for an exam, xrays & cleaning. All 3 dental offices gave me their prices & they all closely varied between $222 - $228 (plus a 5% discount (I don't know what the discount was for). Since I've always had insurance, I was unhappy with that price. I decided to call Aspen Dental in Sandusky, OH. I was told that an exam and xrays would be free on my 1st visit with them. I then asked for their price for a cleaning. I was told that after the xrays and exam, I would then have a consultation & be given the price. I asked why she won't just tell me how much the cleaning would be like the other 3 dentist that I had spoken to?
She told me some nonsense about they won't be able to give me a price for the cleaning until after the exam & know how extensive the cleaning will need. I then called another Aspen Dental in Ontario, Ohio and got the same speech. I then went ahead & made an appointment for Sat. 1/20/18. While there, I had many xrays taken. I remarked several times that I've never had so xrays before & in that way. (I was taken to 2 different rooms for the xrays). I asked if she's heard others say the same thing. She told me "yes." After the xrays, I was taken to another room for the exam. The dentist looked over my xrays and medical info, then did an exam. He told me that I had no cavities & my gums look very good. He also remarked twice that my dentist did good work. I told him that I had lost my dental insurance and I'm now a self pay and looking for a new dentist, & that I wanted to keep up with my cleaning every 6 months & everything else.
I also told him that I had a deep cleaning treatment last year and my last follow up treatment/exam visit was in Aug. After the exam with the dentist, I spoke to a women about their prices. Remember, the exam & xrays were free that day, plus, I was just told that I had no cavities and my gums look good... So, I told her the same thing that the dentist just said to me & now I just want to keep up with the reg every 6 month cleaning. She quoted me a crazy price of something like $279!!! I about fell off my chair! I told her again that I just want a cleaning done. I also told her that 3 other dentist offices that I spoke to charge less than that for xrays, exam AND cleaning. She then did some figuring on her computer and came up with a new & improved price of $220!!! I told her "NO" and asked if I could have my xrays that they had taken. She told me that I absolutely could, & they will be ready for me to take in 2 weeks to one month.
My suggestion to anybody who is thinking of going to Aspen Dental... call other dentist and get their prices 1st. I plan to pick up my xrays and take them to my reg dentist who I was perfectly happy with. Now, I have to decide if having dental insurance is really worth it. I guess like all insurance, you make out if something goes wrong, otherwise I'd pretty much just break even if I just need cleaning & xrays. I will say that the dentist at Aspen was nice, but he was much, much rougher checking my teeth during the exam than anything that I've ever experienced. The ladies at the office were very sweet. So, to sum this review up... The xrays & exam isn't really free at all if you plan to go back the 2nd time for a normal, regular cleaning. I have no idea what they would of wanted to charge me if I need dental work done. For me, I'm picking up my free xrays and running back to my old dentist and will warn everyone what to expect from Aspen Dental.

This company adds on expenses at every turn. Even when quotes are given and services are paid in advance, you are again subjected to unexpected fees by specialists. I arrived for a scheduled appointment, twice confirmed by Aspen Dental which would only be confirmed after full payment prior to the service. ($78.00) Upon arrival, I was told the procedure was not to be performed by the dentist. Rather, I was to see a specialist for an additional $ 300.00 plus dollars after insurance. I explained (they) Aspen Dental had already confirmed the prepaid service; however, I was told I would be charged the higher fee because a specialist was needed. I find it unethical that Aspen Dental can change the scenario despite a previous approval. This was my second specialist referral. As my payment was via credit card over the phone, I do not have a receipt. I am awaiting their call to explain why and how this deception occurred... Nothing yet.

Today when I went, I was charged $395.00 and then got called back again to tell me that I also owed an additional 2600.00. When I started questioning the 2600, then was told they would write that off, but still wanted me to sign paper that said I owed 2600. My experience has been horrible in general. From surgical extractions to fillings, I have not had one thing go right with them. Surgical extraction left me with bone splinters that were caused by "rough hands" not being careful, which caused severe pain and sores for months after, which I am still dealing with the remaining splinter to this day almost 2 year later.
The temp denture that was made for me was made poorly and was not usable, they agreed to remake the denture at no charge instead of refunding me the original price. They then billed me for the second remake, this took a lot of arguing to correct. One filling they id fell out twice within a week, they then simply ground off the tip of the tooth and never refilled it. Yet I was charge for a filling that I do have. The other fillings that had been done are broken and chipped, blue light used on fillings approx 10 seconds or less each.
I am now needing to see a different dentist to get backup verification that the corrections were done so poorly that they all need to be redone less than 2 years later. Drills were used on teeth that did not get fillings, and now they are in need as well. In my opinion, this company is out for the fastest cash possible, without concern for the well being of the patients. After getting professional opinions I will be pursuing a small claims action against Aspen Dental to refund the money collected for poor incorrectly performed dentistry, as well monies to cover the cost of proper corrections.

The filling on one of the left tooth is still not done properly even after getting a revisit to get this fixed and this might need to be done again.
But we are more concerned and shocked about the nerve damage and its possibility of not getting normal or the time it will take to be normal as before. Well why didn’t your staff informed me of this, "It’s the responsibility of the patient to read the paperwork." Ok so it’s now my fault that I didn’t read the fine print and that I’m stupid because I don’t know how the medical field works or how insurances work, she then tells me to call my insurance and see if they’re missing part of my claim or if they even received my claim because she doesn’t know why nothing was covered by the insurance cause no one really knows until the claim is out. True she tells me again those are just estimates then why didn’t you say they may cover 80% or nothing at all. Who’s knows. It’s hard to tell what your insurance will cover without really submitting it. Then I would’ve not gotten the procedure and gone somewhere else that would have done more for the patient. Went to Aspen Dental to have extractions and dentures. Monday they did the extractions. Dr ** said she'd pull the teeth and smooth the bones. She pulled my teeth, forced the dentures into my mouth and when I complained how they hurt and did not fit she just injected ** everywhere. By Wednesday the whole left side of my face was swollen to the point where my left eye was partially closed. When I contacted Aspen they called in a prescription for antibiotics. By Thursday morning my face was so swollen that my cheek felt like it was ready to split. I called the emergency number and after hours of waiting and calling back a second time I finally got a call from DR **. She said she couldn't see me, she was on holiday.
That following morning I arrived at the office she cut my inner cheek open and started pushing the infection out then I told her about the piece of bone that was sticking out of my left side rear upper socket. She said she took it out then she said I'd have to go to a hospital to get a IV of antibiotics. I immediately checked into the emergency room at Shawnee Mission hospital. Once the doctor saw me I told her about the bone sticking out. She examined me. She immediately stated she needed to admit to the hospital, my white cell blood count was at 20000. They were afraid the infection had entered the bone. They did a contrast CT scan and the infection started at the bone that was exposed in my upper socket. They started me on IV antibiotics and called in a oral surgeon. After his examine he stated he would have to put me in to the operating room and open my cheek back up and my jaw. He did that and installed a drain tube.
I was released and had to go back to the oral surgeon. He removed the tube and said he wanted to see me on the following Monday. I went to my appt. He then told me that there were issues where DR ** never smooth the bone and it was poking out of my skin. He then opened up four places on my right hand side and smoothed out the bone and sutured them up and now I have to wait a week for it to heal and on the 15th I have to go in for him to smooth out the left hand side and as I complained to aspen about my dentures when I bite down the back teeth touch and there's a 1/4 gap at the front. My oral surgeon said the bite was off.
I've called Corry the office manager and all he could say was he didn't know about any of this but my oral surgeon had called and talked to Dr ** and she never mentioned any of this to the office manager Corry so what is she hiding. I've been out of work, got two weeks and no teeth and in pain. Corry said he would turn this over to his regional manager and I have still not heard from them. My word is to all stay away run away from this place no matter how bad it is run there a corporation dentist office they only care about the money and their dentist suck.

On June 4 2016 was my first visit. Was told needed remaining bottom teeth removed and would be replaced with implants. Was told my price quote would be top and bottom implants. Before I left was taken to finance office was given a price of 6875.65 right on the contract says upper lower dentures with implants. Agreed with the contract. Was given financing. Proceeded. Had the bottom part of implants done. Had to wait 6 months. When it was time to complete the procedure was told the original implants were not working for others. Was going to cost over 400.00 more and was getting only bottom implants. After solving that problem was told it would cost me over 800 more to add my dentures. Very unhappy. The NEW dentures still fall out so what a waste.

WHERE I STAND! TO BE CONTINUED! Aspen Dental: history. 1st appt. 11/16/17. Appt. to create a NEW set of dentures (2nd set) as a back to original set that is 3 yrs old. Made originally in Florida. I had to glue one of the front teeth in, so I was afraid this would happen again at the worst moment. Due to where I travel (for work) getting a denture fixed with the work schedule would be impossible. So I thought a nice new set to wear and a back-up set for emergency, would be beneficial. Did not have to have... mine were fine, just needed a back-up.
Had to do any X-ray (not sure why, all I wanted was dentures) NO dental work. Did impressions etc and then asked me to leave my (original denture set) for 4 hours so they could do more reproductions and make sure I had a denture that would fit. Due to the fact that my lower jaw has implants 6, they were getting correct measurements for locating the implants (sounded good). Killed 4.5 hours got my dentures drove home 1.3 hrs away, with a next scheduled appointment on 11/28/17. So much for expediency! I am glad I already had a set of teeth to go home with.
2nd appt. 11/28/17 went in to try waxed in impressions fit was ok, there were no adjustments made, basically the dentist stuck them (upper) in my mouth handed me a mirror asked how everything was? Well problem was the bottom plate had NO HOLES for the implants so bottom denture could not even be placed into my mouth for a fit check! I explained this and asked how this would even work,? The tech assured me they were made (copied) from my dentures, and assured they would fit. I was sent home, with another appointment in two days I was not there 20 minutes. I was asked information about original dentist again, gave name address and phone number to technician, so that they could get the proper O-Ring for the implants and I was told the next appointment (in 2 days) someone would be there to fix the bottom plate.
3rd appt. 11/30/17 I went in for final fit, which did NOT go well at all, the upper plate actually dug into the bones of my gums and hurt like hell. I let the tech know Quickly that this was not going to work! She proceeded to tell me they were made from my dentures that they should fit. I again tried to explain what I was feeling and where the problem was. Needless to say she did not want to discuss it. She walked away and had an assistant just grind away on the plate until they fit in my mouth. The lead tech then proceeded to explain they were fine they went in my mouth! I almost came unglued! I explained to her that this was unsatisfactory! She then convinced me that all adjustments would be made at final install. BECAUSE AGAIN THE BOTTOM PLATE WAS INCOMPLETE!
Scheduled ANOTHER appt. on Dec. 12, AGAIN. Told a second time that the expert who deals with the implants would have to be there to install the bottom plate. AGAIN ANOTHER APPT. AND ANOTHER 2.6 HRS WORTH OF DRIVING. And my gums are still hurting so bad, I can barely put my original dentures in and wear them. 3 days. They were very comfortable before. So much for expediency! Now Customer service is starting to get questionable. At this point I was sent home with some USELESS dentures that I have paid $2500.00 dollars for! 4th appt. 12/12/17.

I have no idea why I picked this place, to go to last year. However I have several complaints. The first one is that. My first appointment I thought I was going there for a checkup/cleaning. Nope, just a pure 'check up'. During which they do x-rays, and the doctor looks at my teeth. They tell me oh I need a root canal, and five fillings. I have decent dental insurance for fillings - I pay 10 percent - I wasn't worried about that. But for root canals - I pay 40 percent - which is 850 dollars. As others have said - they really push you right into it - at their "financial desk". I then had to go back for the "cleaning" Which really wasn't a cleaning like I ever had done. They didn't use the normal dental tools you think about when a cleaning is done. They just used some water flosser? I mean... I could of done this.
I didn't get the work done - I kept putting it off for other medical problems. I go to my old dentist - after I found out my insurance covers them. They do x-rays, check up - and cleaning all in same day like every other dental practice in the world. Use the normal dental tools to scrape the plaque off your teeth you know like a normal dental clinic. I get bite x-rays done - and the doctor tells me oh - that "root canal" is just a deep filling. No need to worry. A normal filling will get it done.
It seems like Aspen Dental is just a money maker, I would avoid them at all costs. Unless you have an insurance plan paying 100 percent with them only - then maybe give them a try. Even then they will put you at risk for unneeded surgery. A cavity is only going to get worse in 13 months, to go from being told I need a root canal done to another expert saying I need a filling. It went from paying 850+ dollars (oh the fun part is Aspen doesn't even do all of the work in office!) - to paying 12 something - since my insurance pays 90 percent for normal fillings.

I am interested in starting and/or participating in any class action lawsuit against Aspen Dental. My first statement when visiting them was that my lower dentures had fallen out of my pocket and broken and that I needed a new one, but that due to the lack of sufficient gums I needed to have them attached with screws. That I had to remove them to eat since they flopped around in my mouth while eating. They examined me (no xray) and send me to the financial (?) office. The man there gave me a price and I asked "Is that with them attached with screws?". He stated that it did not because they did not do that there, that I would have to go elsewhere for that. I later received a bill from them for examination and xray. That bill has been passed along to a collection agency and is listed with Experian on my Credit Report - affecting my credit score.
Other than the large average balance on my credit cards the bill with Aspen Dental is the only negative listing that I have. Since a person’s Credit Score affects many things in a person’s life (percentage rates, cost of automobile insurance, credit availability, etc) I would like to be included in any lawsuit against them. The cost of my truck insurance has increased, Orkin Termite Control recently demanded a down payment because of my poor credit. Aspen Dental had advertised on TV at the time that exams and xrays were free. Collection agency informs me that only applies if the work is done. So - - false advertising, false charges, reflection of bill on credit score, irritation and aggravation of collection calls, etc, etc.and whatever! I want to be included in any class action suit against them!

On my first visit in Sept, 2015, I was advised that a new partial lower denture could not be fitted for me and was told I needed to have the remaining teeth (7) pulled. Teeth were pulled using only ** by "traveling teeth pullers". They have none of their own on site. Bottom denture never fit right and after much complaining, they made me a new one. Along with that I learned dentures came in a "set" and even though I didn't need a new top one, a new one was cast for me.
The other day, one of the teeth from the top denture fell out. All it needed was to be glued back in - or whatever they do - but I was told I needed an office visit ($94 - plus $104 to repair). I argued that I could drop the denture off and they could put the tooth back in - no need to sit in chair with a napkin around my neck and a dental consult. They insisted I had to see a doctor to prove the denture was mine - It only has my name permanently tattooed on the inside! This place is the worst and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. They are incompetent robbers. I refuse to pay them $198 for something they should fix for nothing. I'll give the money to another dentist - never to them.

I went to see them as I needed to replace my top teeth and I asked about the implants... Told me $10,000.00. They pulled my top teeth and while I was in the chair. They stuck a paper in front of me and said, "Sign this to complete the procedure." I did, they continued to pull teeth, I was not put to any kind of sleep. They gave me temporary top denture. I paid them $1,800 on my credit card and the finance company gave the $2,400. I had been approved for 8,000.00. Then I read the paper they stuck under my face to sign and I was devastated. No warranty and if they fell out or broke I would have to fix myself. They were not very good rating. I called the finance company as they paid them the other $5,200. dollars before my work was completed for the top dentures. I was told to ask for a refund and go somewhere else.
I called them and said I cancel the procedure and wanted a refund of the $5,200. I then wrote a letter to the finance company to get my refund as the work had not been done and I canceled the procedure. I have already seen a dentist and he will put my top dentures in with a more permanent screws as he told me the one from Aspen would eventually fall out. As of today I am still waiting for my refund so I can pay the new certified dentist. It has been over 30 days. Does not look good. They should not have paid them the money before I received the top dentures... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO RUN NOT WALK AWAY FROM THERE FAST.

Aspen Dental is not a place of quality. First off they lie about cost of dental, time of completion, and poor dental. I had crowns made and upon getting them the dentist had a tech choose the color which was too yellow under light compared to my natural teeth, they were put on crooked and also poorly formed. They were not right. Within the day I called and told them about the problems and not happy. They wouldn't do anything! I have had the crowns for exactly May 2016 and one has fallen off. And the others are hurting! I'm so upset. I made a appointment with another dentist who said Aspen should fix it. So I went to Aspen and they wanted to charge me to look at it, x-rays, and consultation. $97.00! No way.
I refused to pay for a crown that should last more than 10-30 years. I have 2 crowns on from 1980 and still holding! So of course I am upset. I was told I'm not under any warranty and they need to be paid to look. I would rather pay another dentist to fix it so it’s permanently right than have anyone in Aspen Dental touch my teeth again. Do not go to Aspen Dental. Ripped off for $3500 of poor quality and dental care. Went to Aspen Dental in Plover Wisconsin.

My husband went to Aspen Dental for his first examine. When done they quoted a price then I even called to make sure that it was the right amount because the money was coming out of his retirement fund. We was quoted 1654.00 and insurance would pay 565.00 of that so we needed 1089.00 in cash and they was asked not once but at least three times if that covered everything upper & lower deep cleaning & two fillings and I was told yes that is what he would need. And I was placed on hold even while the girl went and checked with someone and when she came back on she said that is the amount he will 1089.00 for everything.
Then the day he goes into have his work done which he was told it would be done all at once and it was not and they did the gum first instead of the bottom gum when the bottom was the worst one. So after they did the top they told him that he would have to come back in two more appts to finish. They then told him he would need another 476.00 to finish his work. Then they billed him for an electric toothbrush without asking him first if he wanted to pay for it and that was 135.00 out of pocket that we did not need to pay for because he could have went to Walmart and got a cheaper one plus he was charged for two copays and there is still questions on some of these other charges also.
I got into a argument with them over the phone about owing more money and they told me I was confused. Well let me tell you something I work with the elderly with confusion and honey I am not confused that I can damn well be sure of but you cannot say that you guys messed up. You put extractions down and that was not what he was having done to his bottom teeth he was saving them and they was told that from the get go. there was not going to be no false teeth. And anyway if he was charged for extraction that you say the bill states then why are we paying anything? You need to be the ones that eat the mistake not us. Then in the other hand you say he was to get these extractions down why did you just say, "Look there was a mistake and we will just correct it and you can pay the difference between the two." No you got smart mouthed and then said, "We are willing to work with you and you could make payments."
Then he comes into his second appt. and you say you have to check with someone if he can pay 50.00 on it first then you come out and say, "No it has to be paid in full." So you lied to us about being willing to work with us and guess what? I was on speakerphone so everyone in the house when I was on the phone heard her say they would work with us on the payments no they wanted us to go through that CareCredit card and my husband came out from the back and said, "Let's go," and I said to the girl Katlyn, "I thought you said because of your mistake you was going to work with him now you are not."
Well I guess we will get an attorney on this one. And we left and went to another dentist office and got appointments for the both of us and I want to say one more thing before we went to Aspen Dental that day we was told by a few people how they would not go back to them because they are just too crazy on their prices and they are not very professional people in that office and that is by people that run their own business that have gone there and left and went to another dentist and much happier and cost much less too and they do not get charged for everything that those people touch either like they charge you at Aspen. I would not go there and I would not advise anyone to go there either. They are not what they make themselves out to be. Almost all their advertisements false because they do not care about their patients they only care about the old mighty dollar. And they lie too!!!

Made appointment for a Wednesday. Came in early. Had never been so extra paperwork was required. I knew already from last year's x-rays dentures were in my future. I have researched prices and every denture made. However did not research certain places So went to this one at Aspen Dental on Kingston Pike in front of West Town Mall, Knoxville TN.
As we go back, I am given a typical x-ray and hygenist starts going on about my certain case as we walk all through the office. Although a privacy act was signed, everyone there is listening to my business. I'm sat in a chair... and asked several other questions not pertaining to my teeth or even close, rarely, but at times discussing my health. Also there in that room there is also no privacy as it is also a shared room. An hour goes by... of mostly waiting and As I thought the dentist comes for approximately 4 minutes and says I need dentures. I'm told it would all be simple extractions. We were sent straight to a desk and handed a price of $8700. With 5600 out of pocket. We were floored.
As we show shock, the lady doing this obvious marketing scam on us gets less sincere and more pushy. We were never shown a detailed price list. The folder that held that detail was held under her elbows. Next she gives us the cheapest set dentures tally, only AFTER we are denied care credit. Except the price was still for the second highest set I had already seen online. Still not allowed to see the price details. She gives a new price of 6800 and 4300 out of pocket. We feel helpless and we feel this is all the option we have. I have large cysts in my mouth that are infected and need to come out. We end up putting $300 in cash down until able to bring more money, until the full amount is brought to them in full. (Because they wont pull a few at a time. They want the full amount and only then will they start work.)
Then she hands the folder ONLY as we are standing up and walking out of the door. But not without me having to ask for my antibiotic prescription 5 times. Once we get down the road we find that each tooth was being charged 170 to our insurance. That was not the simple extraction price. That once they knew we had insurance they price gouged every single item on the list. And still had us paying 1299 for an upper denture and 1299 for a lower our cost. We called and asked them to explain the extra charges. They answered one time until they found out we were weary, they put us on hold and never came back and would never answer our calls again.
It Took 3 days of calling everyone in the directory to finally get ahold of complaint line. Where they transferred us right to them. They put us on hold and hung up, not to answer again. We called complaint department back who then pretends to be sincere and says a regional manager will call within 24 hours... That never comes... 3 times doing this... and they never call. So as with refund it was supposed to have been processed the next day. We paid in cash but have never seen it. We called again today and was told another story. It's been 4 weeks and nothing. No calls. No letters. No nothing. I want my money back Aspen Dental. My kids need that! I only had x-rays that day. No impressions done. Nothing else done. My insurance was charged almost $300 for that.
I saw that it was also taken when I logged into my insurance website. There were no other dental appointments made or billed to this particular policy before Aspen. That was the thing too. They told us one price for that appointment but it was triple within 3 days and I had ONLY simple x-ray. We ended up going to Affordable Dentures who also just pull a tooth at a time if you just need that. They were cheaper than using insurance but give you a filled out claim form to turn into insurance for reimbursement. You get that money back in 2 weeks. Dentures and extractions all done in one day and cost a 1/10 of what Aspen Dental does. Very nice and very accommodating. Aspen Dental is a predatory business.

I made an appointment to have a tooth extraction and during the visit they recommend that I have a deep gum cleaning which required a 60 percent deposit that totaled 330 dollars which was paid by me. The following week had the tooth extracted which was covered by my insurance they said, while there I cancelled the deep cleaning and was told that it would be approx 4 days before the money would be put back into my account. 2 weeks later I called as the money wasn't returned and was told that they had to wait and see if I owed any money that my insurance didn't pay. I told them that the cleaning was a completely different matter, nowhere on the paperwork was anything about a tooth extraction.
After almost a month, they said the insurance covered the extraction except for 40 dollars, which they deducted from the 330. The tooth extraction and the deep cleaning were two entirely different matters, told them they were scammers, many times I have received notices for payments that my insurance did not cover from doctors or hospital visits, like co-pays, etc, which I always pay. They should have returned my money within 4 days and sent me a bill for the 40 dollars. Now let's see if I get the 290 back.

So in July 2016 I went to Aspen Dental for an exam to have my teeth pulled. 13 Total and have dentures. I have several infected teeth at the time and the Dr. would not prescribe any antibiotics. So around July 1st I had all the teeth pulled. The nurse took my blood pressure and it was 245/162 but she still told him to proceed. So as he was pulling the teeth infection was coming out and the assistant was sucking it up. Needless to say I was bleeding to death then I got up and they put the dentures in and they would not stay in my mouth. Way to big. So I went home with no pain meds, antibiotics or anything I laid for 5 days bleeding and crying. I was so sick. Then I went to work with a mask on my face because I had so much infection.
Came home that Friday went to bed about 6 pm Got up Saturday morning with a STROKE. My boyfriend took me to BJC in St. Louis where I stayed for a week. So since all of this I still have a hard time walking, talking, remembering things, etc. I lost my job and can no longer work. I went to the Gaylord, MI office for a check-up. It had been about two years since a cleaning and I had been having pain in a crowned tooth. The initial appointment was fine. X-rays, checked the teeth but no cleaning which I thought was odd. They set up a treatment plan to replace my filling and crown my bottom tooth. I said ok and work started the following week. The filling went fine but I was in so much pain from the temporary crown. They couldn't get a good mold for the permanent so I came back about a week later. Second temporary crown felt better than the first but I was still waking up with extreme pain in the middle of the night.
About a week later I went in to get the perm crown in. I could still feel it four shots later and it took three people to get the temp off my tooth. I let them know I was having extreme pain still and sensitivity and asked about a root canal. The dentist told me I would need a crown lengthening beforehand or have the tooth pulled. Have you looked up a crown lengthening? No thank you. I told her I would get back to her. Here comes third temp crown with even more sensitive and pain.
Flash forward a few days later and my crown came off. I went to the Kalamazoo/Portage location and this dentist told me the previous dentist did a shoddy job and he can't replace the temp crown. He can however do the root canal that should have been done over a month prior. After reading reviews on HIS shoddy work, I had him pull it. I can't live with the pain anymore and guess I'll have to spend money on an implant. Not by him of course, that guy was a real winner. Moral of the story - just don't go to them. I walked out and then received a bill for $108 for x-rays that I did not need. I made an appointment with my old dentist in Summerville, SC and they confirmed what I already knew. Regular cleaning covered by insurance with no out of pocket. These guys are a bunch of crooks.

First of all, when you make an appointment, they harass the hell out of you to remind you. It starts two weeks before the appointment date. I get texts, calls, and emails, and I didn't sign up for any of that, nor am I that absent-minded that I would need so many reminders. I tried to opt out of the emails and they said they had no control over it at the office. Really? So I have to call a separate office to get removed from email reminders at YOUR office? Makes no sense to me. Then once you're there and service is over, they treat you like a criminal and literally escort you to the cashier to make sure you pay. Even though I asked for an itemized bill, they always manage to come up with extra charges after I pay.
They also like to charge you for future visits, which makes no sense to me. Don't show me what I owe until that day and service is actually done. It's like my balance is never at $0. They are money hungry and with good insurance, I still paid too much. I had a filling put into a tooth and the dentist constructed it so poorly that I went back twice in pain. She was nice enough to redo the filling for free, but she should have gotten it right the first time. And guess what? The tooth is still in pain. Needless to say I'm shopping for a new dentist and won't be returning to that awful place.

As stated by previous reviewer, wish I could also give a minus rating... Avoid this place at all costs! Speaking of costs, their entire business model is strictly that: business of generating money even when procedures are not necessary. I concur with previous posts (MH, Emily **, Richard **. and Tim **) re: exaggerated estimates, unnecessary "deep cleaning" vs. regular... I went here after moving to Hagerstown: had regular semi-annual cleans, no problem. First time out here after ridiculous marketing work up with their "no cost " thorough exam on intake (you cannot refuse this or they will not see you as a patient).
They came back with exaggerated work I had NEVER been recommended by my previous dentist of 15 years! Arrogant office manager would not even allow me to sign waiver re: their recommendations just so I could receive regular cleaning! AVOID--AVOID--AVOID! Have reported their ethical (or lack thereof) practices to my insurer. PS I will probably receive a bogus reply from the "owner" saying "sorry for your experience, please call our customer satisfaction line...etc." Yeah, what a joke.

You have to buy temporary then a permanent? It's sad if you buy only the first denture. You're stuck with it after a few weeks or 6 mos (can't remember exact). If you don't like it!! And if you can't buy the second one which is permanent, too bad! I can't afford to buy it. I paid over 1,000 with my ins and me just for a bottom denture and no benefits to it! If you buy second bottom denture they cost more and you get service alignments always! But not on the temp. You're stuck with it. If it hurts your mouth 6 months down the road or anything, too bad!! I've never heard of this before? I know others who have got dentures at affordable dentures and they told me you only need buy one denture or 2. If you need top and bottom that's it. I was told this wasn't right.
Aspen calls them ComfyLytes I do believe. I wish I could afford ComfyLytes! Plus they come with all the benefits you don't have to worry about what if your teeth don't fit you or if you need adjustments. But what about people who don't have credit and on low income? It's all about money with this company. And I paid that money to have the dentist tell me 'your daughter can help you' when she is doing an alignment! Just because my daughter is a D.A. doesn't mean she can realign dentures plus what did I pay Aspen for??? Plus she doesn't have equipment to align dentures or any way to do it. They never made me an appt either to come back in 3 weeks for a soft realignment. I never got any instructions on how to use a denture or anything not even one of those boxes you use to put your teeth in to clean them or whatever!
I've never had a denture before so I didn't know how to eat with them or how to put them in my mouth!! Coz they were so big! I had to open wide to get them in my mouth and stretch my lips! I was told to just turn them sideways to put them in. But why didn't I get any instructions or anything? Not even an appt as when to come back? I guess it's like, "Well we got your money." So, beware. First denture is expensive and then your permanent denture is expensive too!! You know the saying you're up --- creek without a paddle? I won't say the word but you can fill in the blanks.

When I originally went to Aspen Dental, they were all too eager to help me. Unfortunately they told me that I had to have all but two of my teeth taken out. My wife and I decided that it was time to replace MY teeth with better teeth that I could use to chew and digest food!! Naturally we went for the most expensive ones the ones that would last 10 years. The price was pretty high, but I didn't have insurance, so they give me a percentage off because I was paying cash. I want to let you all know that I am a teeth grinder, I am 56 years old and have been grinding most of my life. Therefore I didn't have much teeth left. I've been unable to chew food even though I have my permanent dentures for close to 4 months.
I've been in a lot of pain recently lately, as time went on. I had teeth pulled rather than have them capped, because the expense was high. Back to Aspen Dental they had an appointment for me within 4 days of the initial visit when they removed all of my teeth except to they gave me a temporary partial that they said I would probably need to have adjustments on and soft line within a few weeks. And it would take six months before I could get my permanent dentures. Over the past few months and this started in February 2017 I've had nothing but problems with my teeth and my gums even where they didn't pull any teeth out is extremely sore. I've had bad experiences such as weight gain, not being able to chew food properly. Also with certain members of the staff not caring in my opinion about my wellbeing. While others try to do the best they can to make me happy.
Unfortunately yesterday October 3rd I went to Aspen Dental for an appointment to have the bottom plate adjusted for the fifth time. While putting the bottom in, I received injuries to my gums, and they tell me now that I have to start rinsing with salt water again until they heal, injuries that occurred while they were putting my teeth in I have to deal with now. They also suggested that I don't put my teeth in unless I'm going to eat something. They had me chew on some cotton to see it where the pain was and it seems that there's pain in the bottom of my mouth no matter what I do. I'm not happy with the service because they can't seem to get the problems corrected. I think I made a big mistake by not doing enough research with this company. The company advertised through a NASCAR Sprint Cup team that I like a lot. I figured that they would not be giving bad service to people that are represented of the team.
I certainly plan on filing a claim against them for failure to make me happy with my new teeth. Let's all keep in mind the reason why I got the teeth wasn't because of vanity, it was because I didn't have any teeth to chew food with anymore. I feel that they failed in their promise to make me happy. I've had all kinds of pain and I'm definitely not happy.

I arrived at Aspen in distress. I had an abscessed tooth and was in pain and in need of relief. After the exam, I was provided with a treatment plan, that included expensive treatments and a first appointment to begin root planing. When I reminded them that I was in pain and wanted my tooth fixed and the pain abated, they said, "Oh okay, we can take care of that." Their priority was clearly my pocketbook, not my abscessed tooth or the pain I experienced. The treatment plan was confusing and the financial consequences, completely baffling. I asked them to explain, they tried, but were never successful. (I'm not an idiot. I'm a lawyer and judicial officer wholly capable of understanding the complex. I don't think it was their intention that I understand.)
My abscessed tooth was repaired at Aspen, and a month later the pain returned. The dentist then said, I needed a root canal. (Duh? I could have told them that the day I first appeared.) I was sent to an endodontist who performed the root canal and returned me to Aspen to repair the crown Aspen placed on my tooth (which should have been installed after the root canal). I was told there would be no additional charge to repair the crown (duh) and was told by the business office, I owed Aspen nothing more. Predictably, I received another bill from Aspen. I sent a letter to billing asking for clarification and was ignored. Three bills later, recognizing the battle was more costly than the bill, I paid it. At the end of my first appointment, I was tempted to move on and find another dentist, because my pocketbook, not my health, seemed to be Aspen's concern. I didn't and now wish I would have.

The dental work was good. The business practices are obscene. I knew going in about their numerous pitches for dental health, expensive preparation before any work done; press for regular visits and cleaning but decided to go ahead with the work. I'm a PPO patient who comes to dentist regularly every 6 month for cleaning and check up. Last cavities filled in 5 years ago. First time customer and visit to Aspen 9/19/17, dental insurance mistakenly changed to DHMO and has been PPO for years. Cigna DHMO requires to go to ASPEN for initial assessment of the entire mouth before any cleaning. First things of business was an x-ray of every single tooth front and back. I was subjected to pain of sharp edges inside my mouth with weight pressure to hold still for every single tooth 32 times. The square edges were pushing against hard and soft pallet, cutting in the sublingual papilla. I could taste blood in my mouth. I asked the non certified x-ray technician why must it hurt to get an x-ray when it never hurt before? She stated, "Your mouth is too small for it." Ohh my bad.
I was told by a dental hygienist that I have a serious gingivitis that needs an attention ($2,798.00). She also said that I am losing bones which is degeneration of my tooth, I have diseases and infections. She showed me pictures of my teeth and bone spaces. By the time she got done with me I thought I'm dying and have terminal illness that is needing a critical care. If I didn't know better I would have said, "Sign me in, I will sell my soul to the devil!" I had asked her a lot of question what is ASPEN and what does it do for their patients. She made it sound like they really care so much for your teeth but the cost is like Dental Hollywood. I asked her if the treatment will cure the infection she said "No" but it will prevent future damage. In other words my gum will be forever infected?
With all the grinding and coming and going of the staff it sounded like a mill saw. I asked if there's a Dentist in the building she stated, "Yeah and sometimes we have an Orthodontist in the building", kind of like Dental Hospital. I have two dentists from PPO. Neither one has told me I have a serious gingivitis that requires a series of treatment with injection of antibiotic between the gum. I'm very sure these 2 dentist passed their exam and license to treat and diagnosed gingivitis. The dentist here tells me that I have 2 cavities under the old filling that requires a Crown ($2,166.00) so that the cavity will never come back.
At the check out I asked for the print out of the cost for treating the infections and 2 crowns and an appointment for cleaning. The billing staff stated that I cannot come back for cleaning unless I agree to do the series of treatment because it must be done as part of the cleaning. This company is a scam! When you forced someone to think that your mouth is just so horrible and you're about to lose all of your teeth from nasty infections, well somebody is bound to do investigations with camera recording how these scammers gets away with it. DHMO needs to reconsider before losing big medical corporations.

I was extremely upset and very dissatisfied with the dental work I had done at Aspen! I had a full upper denture made (advertised for $399). They never even told me what my options were, I thought I was getting the denture special, not so. They gave me a much more expensive denture without saying one word to me. I also had a lower partial made. The temporary partial they made me never did fit and was way too painful to wear so I never wore it. I took it in and told them how painful it was so they added a little soft liner to it and stated they couldn't adjust the wires because they were too fragile. I left there still unable to wear it. So I had to pay for a temporary partial I couldn't even wear. I also had a few extractions which only left me with 5 of my own teeth left. They cleaned those 5 teeth with an electric toothbrush and charged me a whopping $1,300.
I would never have given my permission to do that! On my final visit I was supposed to get my permanent partial started but I had to sign giving them permission to charge me an additional $650 just to finish the partial they already started. For 6 months I couldn't use the temporary partial I was already charged for and in order for them to finish what they started. So, of course I signed it. I was sick to death of not having any teeth I could use comfortably. $3,500 was far from being an affordable price for such an inferior product. They still don't fit well, I have to use a "lot" of denture adhesive just to keep them in place. They won't stay in my mouth without it! My advice would be to avoid Aspen Dental like the plague! They will rob you blind and not think twice about it! I very deeply regret going there in the first place! Now I'm stuck with a huge dental bill at a very high interest rate through Care Credit. Take this as a "WARNING"... DO NOT GO THERE!!!

I went here to fix my broken tooth and they recommended cleaning and then crowning my teeth. After cleaning and putting a temporary crown I was feeling 2 of my teeth were hollow and painful. Then I figured out that the hygienist has removed part of my existing filling and the doctor grinded the tooth to cover her mistake while putting the temporary crown and when I went to ask them "why you have done this" they started treating me like some ** and argued that they have not done anything and they charged me for asking that.
Fixing my broken teeth messed up my 2 teeth and also the teeth where they had a crown requires root canal which was not recommended in the earlier stage because if you come back and ask them you have a problem then they will charge you more to get a root canal and fix the crown again. Also after cancelling an existing treatment they are not ready to pay back my money and they charge your insurance without your authorization. Now instead of giving my money back they are asking me for more money which is insane.
I spend over 1000$ out of my pocket and charged more than 1000$ to my insurance as well to fix a broken tooth and now I have to spend more again to get a root canal which they should have recommended earlier before putting the actual crown and 2 of my teeth needs proper filling which they have removed and they are not ready to pay my money back for which I have cancelled the treatment. This is totally a rip off center and nothing else. Please do not visit Aspen Dental Rinehart location at any cost, else your life will be screwed up.

On 9/13/17, my husband & I had appointments with this company. I was in just for a cleaning, he was going in for an update from previous visit. He also had a credit from paying for this procedure to pay for this appointment. So he was signing us in when the guy told him his visit would be $190, and mine would be $63. So he told him he had a credit for this appointment and the guy said no he did not. So my husband told him he was not paying for it and walked out. They wanted him to come back in to sign off that he refused treatment, but when I went out to tell him this he said no and he was not paying for anything. They tried to say he had gingivitis, that he had to pay that price UNTIL they said he was clear of it. He has never been diagnosed in previous years for that.
So, that done, on to me. I was ONLY in there for a cleaning (supposedly). So I get back there and she asked if I had any problems. I told her about 1 tooth that had been aching for a couple weeks. So she took 1 xray of that. Turns out it was probably from allergies, which I am having lately. So, lo and behold just with that 1 xray she comes up and says that I have a pocket. How convenient is that on that 1 xray? So, before she can even come clean my teeth she has me go up front to figure out how much I would have to pay for treatment to fix this problem (I have NEVER had these types of problems with my teeth, I have great teeth). So he figures this all out and it comes to "$1,544" NOT including cleaning. I told him, "NO. I am retired and on a budget."
This only the 2nd time we have seen them. The 1st time 6 mths ago, they came up with me needing things done that cost me "$1750", and my husband's was "$550". Now if he had gingivitis back then do you not think they would have told him that and would have cost him more than what he paid? Needless to say, we are finding a New Dentist. This company should be closed down for their money hungry antics.

I do not have any complaints whatsoever about the work done on my teeth, the hygienist at that time (go every 6 months), or the dentist. However, I have to have a pre-med before seeing a dentist due to an artificial heart valve replacement. My cardiologist told me to take AT LEAST 1 hour before dental work. I called their office a week ahead of my appointment and requested that the Rx be called to the Wal-Mart across from them and was told it would be done by the end of the day. I checked with Wal-Mart the next day and it had not been called in. I called them back and was told the same, and it was not called in.
I called the day before my appointment regarding the message I left them on voicemail and needing the med. The girl who answered was very short, snappy and just plain rude. She did not even let me finish my sentence before she was jumping in with her snappy comment about they had not had time to check voicemail, but she would see that the doc got the request. Today, 09/12/17, I had a 12:00 appointment and still did not have my pre-med. I called the office and told them the Rx had still not been called in so I needed to reschedule my appointment. I was told to come by the office an hour or so before and they had some medication there. Why didn't they tell me that to start with?
I went to their office with my request again and the message I got to come by the office. I was told by the front desk that she had 3 new patients she had to take care of and to please have a seat. I did sit down and after 5 mins I said, "The hell with it." She then called me on my cell to ask me if I was going to keep my appointment. NO. And I will be seeking a new dentist.

When I went in to have the root canal they numbed me. I got to thinking I'm on a blood thinner. When the doctor came in I told him about taking a blood thinner. I should have told them on my first visit about the blood thinner. It's your responsibility to read my chart. He then numbed my tooth that needed to be filled. I came back the 2nd time for a filling. Also had a cleaning done.
I ask the young lady that assisted the doctor was I going to be charged for everything I needed to be done she said they only bill what you have done. I told her that's all I was going to have done, 2 teeth filled and the cleaning. The first visit was a cleaning and then toothpaste and a mouth wash that they charged me. $60 didn't ask did I wanted it just charged it to my bill. So I get a bill for $2534. I was shocked they had billed me for everything.
I called them and ask for an itemized statement. Now they are saying 2 teeth filled and a deep cleaning and product comes to $1700. You have got to be kidding. Also found out the tooth that needs to have a root canal had to be pulled and a cap for it. I was already numbed so they filled my 2nd tooth. The young lady assured me I wouldn't be charged until the work was done. So why would I get a $2600 bill from the insurance. Aspen Dental has been dishonest and after 8 months, I still don't have decent dentures keeping me to a soft food diet. The dentist talked me into removing my upper molars - nothing was wrong with them other than big fillings, which I've had dentists tell me about for over 30 years but no problems. The removal of the upper molars caused me to need a new lower partial as well, which wasn't covered by my insurance because mine was only a year old.
The immediate upper dentures were the worst lab work I'd ever seen - and I used to be a dental assistant - no dentist I ever worked for would have even allowed dentures that bad into the treatment room. The midline was off by over 1/4 inch and the teeth didn't line up with my lower teeth at all with a huge overbite. The dentist tried to switch the lower partial which was supposed to be a metal frame tooth based partial to a gum based flipper that is worthless with the false claim that my husband changed it, which he did not. The type of lower partial was re-established but I still haven't received it.
They made a new upper due to the horrible craftsmanship of the immediate - it's not much better. The back teeth are too small giving me TMJ and making it impossible to chew food properly. They had promised to make another one after the 6 month waiting time, but instead they tried to do a reline on the sly that was so bad I couldn't tell any difference - still loose as heck and no suction, can't even talk without gluing them in and so loose they come unglued when I try to eat. Now we are concerned that the insurance company will not cover my upper teeth if we change to another place...
They have agreed to do another upper denture, but I do not have much faith in them after seeing their horrible lab tech workmanship on the first 2. Not being able to eat properly all this time has affected me in nutrition and made me self conscious on how I look, not to mention the constant discomfort of ill fitting dentures. I'm extremely frustrated and hungry... I cannot afford to shell out another $3-4K for proper dentures, the whole experience has been on huge nightmare. I strongly recommend not going to Aspen Dental.

I hadn't been to a dentist in 6 years, since I retired and went on Social Security. I chipped a tooth recently and decided I needed to go get it repaired and get my teeth cleaned. As the initial visit at Aspen Dental was free, I decided to give them a try. The first thing they did was take lots of x-rays. Then they took me back to an exam room and showed me the x-rays. They said I had severe bone loss due to gum disease, which I had about 20 years ago. The dentist left me in the exam room and said someone would be back to talk to me. They left me with a tv screen and remote control.
After over an hour, I went out to see if they forgot me. They assured me that they had not forgotten me and that I would be next. The consultant met with me shortly. She said that they could fix my chipped tooth for about $150, but that I needed a special deep cleaning for my teeth and my gums were infected and I needed 2 months worth of treatments on them. The combined bill for cleaning my teeth and treating my gums would be somewhat over $2100! I didn't feel that my gums were infected, as they weren't sore or inflamed and they don't bleed when I brush my teeth. So, I decided not to sign up for their expensive treatments and to get a second opinion. On the way home, I started looking for reviews on Aspen Dental and found this website, where I found a man who was basically told what they told me, except they wanted $4000 from him.
So this week I went to a local dentist. They cleaned my teeth for $45. I qualified for their services on a sliding fee scale, where I only had to pay 50%. Also, they said my gums were fine and did not need any special treatments. Next week I'm going back to get the tooth repaired, which they said would cost me just over $100. So glad I found your reviews. You saved me $2000. There were several red flags that made me decide to check Aspen's reviews and get a second opinion.

My saga begins the day my 19 year old denture had a front tooth come apart from the denture. I wanted it repaired asap and my current dentist could not do anything quickly at that time. I began calling to see if I could get a dentist to work me in and repair it for the short term and work on replacing it. I called Aspen Dental and got their central office and was told that they had a office not too far way that could do it that day. I set an appointment and when I got there, I was told that I was misled, but they would do all they could to replace it asap, since the tooth was not one of theirs and that old. I set another appointment and went through the usual fittings. I bought the denture that came with a three year warranty. They never did the final fittings as I remember my old one, but it seemed fine.
However, about a month or so later, I took a bite of soft licorice and felt a crack open up. It went from the front to halfway back. I called and set an appointment meant to have the dentist look at it. I was assured it did not need replacing and repairs would be done the next day. I am glad I did not throw away the old denture. When I picked it up, they made one adjustment and said, it was as good as new and should not happen. Well, guess what, it did! This time, I was in a different state, so I call the first office and was told, no problem, just find an office close to me and they will take care of it. Once again, I go in and show the dentist the crack and they said they would do a repair, to make it good as new. They did fix it and handed it to me when I came back later that day. The dentist never did come and see how it fit or if it needed any adjusting to make sure the bite was correct (as she said she would).
The denture is not as good as new, because I can feel the difference where it was repaired! Shortly after, I received a bill, stating charges for detailed and extensive evaluation. I called and asked about the warranty and was told the repair was free, but the DETAILED AND EXTENSIVE evaluation was what I was being charged. I saw the dentist for less than 10 minutes. I guess that warranties do not really mean much if that's how they work in their dental business. The previous denture had several adjustments and was never charged. I wonder then why a auto warranty does not charge you when you bring it in to get diagnosed for an issue.

I called Aspen Dental Waycross GA and I let them know that I was there for a cleaning and bitewing only xrays. I have one tooth broken needs removed. I have another tooth that the crown is loose, both teeth are sensitive and infected. Dr. ** gave me antibiotics and pain meds. Nicole called me and went over 2 treatment plans, one for 6k and the other 7k. I told her that I am disabled with limited income and she told me that we could do one thing at a time.
I called to schedule my preventative cleaning and to one tooth pulled. Nicole told me that the cleaning wasn't in my treatment plan, so they can't do that cleaning, but a deep gum cleaning is part of the treatment plan. Which would cost me versus the cleaning that was free. I told her that I told them what I wanted done on the form and verbally and she told me she just doesn't know. I told I know that I will find another dentist and apologized for wasting their time and mine. Unbelievable treatment or lack of. Very disappointed.

About a year ago, my husband and I became patients in the Clermont, Florida office. Due to the extensive dental work that both of us needed, we were directed to activate an account with Dental First Financing. Against our better judgment, we agreed to the enormous total/quote. They created 2 separate accounts and explained that if the 1st account went over, then the 2nd account would be used to cover it. In other words, we would share the expenses. After having 5 teeth pulled, and a partial denture fitted, my husband went back to them about 4 months later to be fitted for his permanent partial. They refused to service him, stating that he had an outstanding bill of $1,000 due. When questioned, they explained that their office staff had failed to submit the billing to the Dental 1st after his last visit.
Apparently, there's a 90 day window in which Aspen had to submit the charges to Dental 1st, and they failed to do so. Now, that's a problem! We are currently paying Dental 1st a total of $375.00 per month for the account and services we initiated over a year ago. It's not fair that we get charged and sent to collections for a mistake that their company made! Now, my husband has a temporary partial and a collections notice. We've contacted the collections agency and explained our issue. Now, we are prepared to dispute the charges. We feel that we have been treated very, very unfairly! We were talked into setting up an account which carries an enormous interest rate of 27%. I am also very dissatisfied with my upper partial. The teeth are big and not very comfortable. I hope others will take note of this scam of a dental company and choose another company that cares more about their patients than their paychecks!

The soonest they could get me in was August 14 at 7:30 am, in Minot ND, about 120 miles away so I took this appointment. On Wednesday August 9th I received a text to confirm my appt, and I did. That following Friday at lunch time I got a voice mail from them to confirm again, but I had to call in 60 min. or my appointment would be canceled.
Well I'm in the food service industry and could not reply till 2pm, at which time I left a msg because they were closed for the weekend. After leaving numerous msg up until 7:15 am the day of my appt with no call backs... I drove 120 miles to my appointment to find out it was given to another person. With no remorse the receptionist just said, “(oh well) that’s our procedure.” And when I called corporate office I got the same response. How can they confirm an appointment by text msg than tell me I don't have one, Angry in North Dakota.

My husband and I have our teeth cleaned every six months. About two years ago, we got a dental discount plan and switched to Aspen Dental in Vero Beach. Here are a few of our worst experiences at that facility. 1) Dr. ** drilled and filled my husband’s small tooth cavity. The filling fell out the following day! Outraged, my husband refused to allow Dr. ** to try again, so the facility sent him to an Aspen facility 30 miles away for a new filling, a 45-minute drive.
2) Dr. ** had prepared my upper molar for a crown, and I reported for a 1 ½ hour appointment to have a cast made. Miss ** mixed, filled, and pressed a tray into my mouth 4 times, summoned a woman to show her how to do it successfully, tried 4 more times, finally summoning Dr. **. He rushed into the room, grabbed a spray bottle, and, while looking at and teasing Miss **, sprayed a chemical, missing my mouth and soaking my face and eyes, instead. He apologized, dabbed my face with a tissue, quickly made a cast, dismissed me, and left the room. I walked out, after 3 exhausting hours, with a sore jaw and with eyes burning so badly I could barely keep them open. My husband drove me to our ophthalmologist’s office where the doctor verified that my eyes were extremely irritated but uninjured. He gave me soothing drops, and I was charged for the visit. My eyes were bloodshot and painful for a week!
3) I dislodged a crown on a back molar while using dental floss, and I expected a dentist to re-cement the crown for the $25 dental plan fee. However, when Dr. ** examined my x-ray, he called out in alarm that my tooth was so badly decayed it could not hold a post, so the tooth had to be extracted. He did not show me the x-ray. I was directed to a clerk who first collected my $800 and then scheduled me for an extraction (my first). On that day, a new dentist, Dr. **, showed up to pull my tooth, and I noticed that the same inept Miss ** was to assist him. I asked, “Where is Dr. **?” and she replied, “Oh, he went back to school to learn surgery.” Dr. ** could not budge my tooth, so he broke it apart, digging it out piece by piece. Miss ** then made the cast on the first try (she had practiced on ME!) and, a few weeks later, my single-tooth appliance arrived.
Dr. ** fitted it in my mouth, removed it, set it down on the dental tray amid his equipment, and told me to return for a final fitting. As I left the room, I noticed Miss ** begin to clean off the tray. About a week later, the manager phoned to say that my partial was lost! She apologized and said a new one was ordered and should arrive in three weeks. I would need to repeat the fittings at that time. 4) I reported for my 6-month teeth cleaning. As usual, the hygienist complimented me on the excellent condition of my teeth and gums.
5) Six months later, I faced a new dental hygienist, Miss ** for my routine cleaning. She first probed my gums, charting the pockets. After showing me the numbers on her measuring pick, she told me I had periodontal disease! A dentist came in, nudged two of my teeth, and then left quickly. Then, Miss ** walked out of the room! I heard her verbally charting another patient! On the other side of the partition. When she returned fifteen minutes later, I asked her why she had left before completing my work. She replied, “They told me not to keep new customers waiting.” After passing a hand instrument lightly across my teeth, she sent me off to see the manager who told me that I have periodontal disease and must return in four months for a special treatment and then report for a treatment every three months after that.
She cited the various costs involved. I said I would phone later to make the appointment, but, instead, I immediately visited a local private practice dentist for a second opinion. He examined my mouth and said I do not have periodontal disease. However, he showed me evidence that much plaque remained on my teeth, so his hygienist cleaned my teeth properly. Needless to say, my husband and I will not return to Aspen Dental of Vero Beach. We regret that we put our trust in their questionable services.

Then after exam is when they told me the tooth had to come out, and I was shown this, then they took me and my husband to their manager and said the total for everything would be 1700.00, and I could pay by CC or take out a credit card, After the tooth was pulled and a new partial was made it didn't fit didn't, when I was ready to leave I told them this, the tech said well the other tooth it claps to HAS to be pulled too and a new partial will have to be made, so they pulled the other tooth.

I took the option of downloading it online, completed it and brought it with me. When I approached the receptionist Brandy I went to hand her my paperwork, she ask my name which I responded and she then said in a very condescending tone that I would need to reschedule. When I ask why she said it is 12:17 and my appointment was 12:15. So I notified her not to bother.
I then called and talked to the office manager Lacey, she explained that they are very strict when it comes to new patients. I ask if there is not a window for people to fill out paperwork? She stated yes there is. I then ask what is that window. She stated 5-10 minutes. I then notified her that I arrived with my paperwork completed so I wouldn't need that window and actually would be ready ahead of time. She stated she was sorry but policy is policy.
After that experience and reading all the other horror stories on here, which I wish I would have prior to scheduling, I get the impression that if they have this type of operation at the front desk I could only imagine how you get treated once you're in the dental chair. I will be choosing a real dental office where you get treated like a person and not a number. I get tired of feeling like I am doing these companies a favor by spending my money with them. I hope they keep up the bad service in order for their real estate to be used for a more useful business.

11-02-16, Aspen Dental's surgeon, Dr. ** came in for his once a month surgery procedures at the Hermitage, PA office to remove my upper teeth. 11-21-16 Aspen's dentist at Hermitage PA office finally looked inside my mouth after 3 previous visits where his male assistant refused to let me see the dentist because I just had normal swelling and was over reacting. He never removed my temporary denture but asked me to do it. He never looked in my mouth. On 11-21-16 I hollered to see dentist who then came in, examined my gum, left without a word then came back with his script to immediately see a local dental surgeon.
I did that day and was seen for an appt, the following day. New surgeon gave me antibiotics and came back 12-2-16 opened up puss gums to find crumbling bone falling on tongue! He scrapped a lot of destroyed none, did biopsies which came back Acute Osteomyelitis of upper jaw which is a severe bacterial bone infection caused from Aspen's Surgeon and neglect of assistant to let dentist examine only 1 week after surgery when he was told I felt the bone was sponge, felt liquid drainage from gums and a very bad taste in mouth.
I have been on antibiotics that made me deathly sick for months, hospitalized for 4 days near death, 5-15-17 at SRH admitted having a pic infusion line surgically put in. Next day at NE Ohio Infectious Disease Center to start a 6 week 7 days a week 30 min antibiotic infusion done. This gave me side effects of fatigue, nauseas, and headaches. It took 30 minutes each way plus the 30 minutes to have the slow IV drip put into my pic line. Once I completed on 6-30-17 I then have to take 2 months of 2 different antibiotics that drain me physically, give headaches and nauseated for 2 hours after taking it at 6 am then again at 6 pm!
On 5-17-17 I contacted Aspen Dental in Hermitage to inform them what happened to me since they never called me in the past 7 months and spoke to Shayla the Mgr. I told her I wanted my full money back of almost $5,000.00 I had to pay upfront but after thinking things over she called me back and said, "Here is Aspen's surgeons personal cell phone number and you need to take it up with him."
I called Dr. ** who stated I do not have Osteomyelitis, never had it, was being treated now for nothing. Asked, "Do you have puss coming from your gums now?" I said after 7 months of antibiotics it has stopped. I asked him if he was denying the results from Sharon Region Hospitals pathology lab? Said it is wrong. Asked if he was denying, the 2nd dental surgeon who treated me, "Who you also yourself personally go to for service diagnosis of my condition" and Dr ** stated he also was wrong. Wanted me to come to Aspen his next visit in June to examine my upper jaw and said, "You won't have Osteomyelitis"!!! Is he kidding? I told him, "You can't tell except from blood work and pathology from bone biopsies if definitely the case. You just don't open my mouth and say, ah-ha, nothing here!"
Aspen refuses to own up to all the illness they have put me through let alone hospital stays, testing, medications, surgeries, pain, humiliation of going 9 months without any dentures because bone was way too sensitive and infected to do it. Just let it rest and heal I was told. Last week I was given a bill by a new dentist to put custom denture to fit my mouth that is missing some upper jaw bone now is going to cost me $7,000. In Mercer County there are no medical malpractice lawyers but oh, only a 40 minute drive away there are oodles of them in Pittsburgh! Aspen Dental, you are disgusting to not own up to your mistakes and return the money you collected. I got a jacked-up surgery and a temporary denture for all that money.

I visited Aspen Dental in Amherst NH for the first time in March 2017. My daughter had fallen on ice and had broken her front teeth. I called on a Saturday and was told they could take her as a emergency on Monday morning at 9AM. I kept her out of school on Monday and went to the dental office. Upon arriving I was told to complete some paperwork and have a seat. Approx 15 minutes the later the receptionist call me to her desk to inform me that they did not have time to see my daughter that morning. I became agitated and explained that per their direction I kept my daughter out of school and that I wanted her to be seen. They made us wait 2 hours until finally we were able to be seen. During the two hours I witnessed many unhappy patients who got irate, stormed out and were shouting at the staff for various reasons. In hindsight that should have been a red flag for me.
My daughter was seen and was told she would need veneers to cover her front teeth. They demanded to take x-rays and also schedule her for a "full" exam. Before any work was done, they billed me $2000.00 on a CareCredit card. After 3 subsequent visits the work was finally done. During her treatment the dentist that had starting working with her, had left the company, so we now were working with a different dentist. I was told on her last visit that due to insurance coverage, I had a $191.00 credit which I requested to be applied to my CareCredit account.
Three months later, I still had no credit. Upon inquiring with the office, I was told that the insurance company didn't cover veneers and therefore I now owed them an additional $700.00. The claim they fought with the insurance company over the 3 months and that is why I was never informed of this. They stated that I should have received an explanation of benefits from the insurance company, however I don't carry the insurance on my daughter. During my call to complain, I was put on hold. The advertising on the phone stated "At Aspen Dental you can feel confident that the amount we quote is the amount you will pay. If your insurance company pays less than quoted, Aspen Dental will honor your quote." Hmmmm... When the office manager returned to the phone I informed her of the advertising and she said "Oh we don't offer that program anymore". What? It is still on your advertising.
For 3 months no one bothered to bill me, let me know there was an issue with the insurance company or have the courtesy to follow up. Only upon my request for my credit did all this come to light. I say beware to anyone as these practices are despicable. Now they won't even honor their own advertising. I cannot pay another $700.00 and have asked them to honor the own words.

The poor fit pain returned. They "adjusted" it again. I told them the "bite" was wrong. He again said it would take a few "adjustments" to get it right. After two days, one of the denture "wires" broke. I complained to the "main" website and asked for my money back. I was not "satisfied" as their TV commercials state. I was then told that I would have to have made a "request" for my money back within 60 days.
They advertise that you get your dentures in "days not weeks". Mine took over TWO MONTHS!! Since then the only time I get "attention" from Aspen Dental, Mesa AZ office, is when I complain on the main website. Appointments have been made with the "head dentist" that told me ONLY he would be handling my "case" from now on. The "appointments" were cancelled because "he" was not there "that day" A month ago. On the day of my appointment for review of the procedures and cost I was told that I needed some dental work done by a specialist first before we could go further at Aspen Dental. I was referred to a Specialist. At that time I was told by your finance manager that because of the procedure done would be covered by my medical plan. I questioned this but, was assured that what I was told was correct. As with anyone would, I believed what I was being told was true.
I was told I needed dental work done which would exceed $3000.00. I expressed the fact it was way more that I could afford at this time. We discussed what needed immediate attention and it brought the cost down. I agreed to the treatment and the cost. $1765.50 was the amount for the treatment. I asked if that was the COMPLETE total and was assured that that would be the complete cost. Again, trusting what I was being told was the truth. I put the total amount on my credit card and we went forward.
Now I am being billed for $800.00 more than was agreed to. I did question your finance manager about this and she denies ever telling me that the work by the specialist would be medical. If this were the case more monies would have been available for my dental work and I would not be writing this letter. Also, if someone would have been up front with me about the what I was signing. We would not be having this problem. Yes, I should have read the Treatment Acceptance and Payment Arrangement Form but, I trusted someone telling me that this would be the complete cost.

Where do I start? I have had nothing but problems with the Peoria location. I had my teeth extracted from another dentist but was going to Aspen for my dentures. I received my temporary set and they fit fine, but when I went back to finish the process and get my permanent set - The office had NO CLUE what was going on with me. The first appointment, there were extraction tools out and the tech even looked in my mouth and gasp when she saw I had no teeth TO extract. So, they set me up with another appointment and the SAME thing happened with that appointment. I waited 4 years for them to open another location so I didn't have to deal with the ignorance and unorganized office and staff any longer.
The second, and most traumatizing incident with the Peoria location was with my husband on 6/8/17, My husband had a tooth on his top pallet that was loose and would fall out. He made an appointment and saw the dentist only for the Dentist to tell him his dentures weren't properly made and they should have drilled the sides down so the tooth would stick in the hole and stay properly. NEVER fixed the tooth, only made ANOTHER appointment for him to come in and fix the issue. (I know, why not just fix it then right?) Instead, he waits another 2 weeks and two days before his appointment. ANOTHER tooth came out only he SWALLOWED that tooth.
My husband opted for the really white teeth which have to be ordered so he called ahead and spoke with the UNGODLY RUDE receptionist. (I, too, have had conversations that run in circles with her because she seems to think she can handle any issue on the other end of the line. Very rude and condescending.) As my husband is asking her to transfer him to either a lab tech (The one who actually MAKE the dentures on site) or the Office Manager but NO! She would not transfer him, instead she screamed at him over the phone so loud I could hear clearly what she was saying sitting next to him. I heard her say "Shut the hell up" and other curse words, eventually hanging up on my husband.
The last thing my husband said to her was "I'm getting a lawyer and I'm going to sue you if Aspen doesn't fix my teeth." Now mind you, in the beginning of every conversation with the office, the automated lady says the conversations are recorded for training purposes. (So, you would think in a dispute they would be happy to pull the recordings and listen to them to solve issues Right? WRONG!!!) The next phone call he received was from the police stating the receptionist claims he said he "was going to shoot up the place" -- (again sitting next to him he did NOT say that. However maybe if she wasn't screaming like a crazy person she would have heard what he really said.)
We have called corporate (Does no good b/c each site is independently ran by the dentist there). We have been promised calls from a district manager by the name of "Jennifer" (I'm still waiting 8 weeks later for that phone call). I did receive a letter in the mail stating that my husband is "released as a patient of Aspen Dental for ALL locations" Not just the one location - ALL OF THEM. Well, what about the warranty right? Nope, they call that Null and Void because of whatever reasons they come up with at the top of their heads.
So now my steps are - Contacting my Attorney General's office and filing a report. Contacted the Dental Association to file a report for mediation (Just to see if they will fix the teeth) and meeting with our attorney in the morning. If I would have known all of this was to take place, we would have taken our (collective amount) $12,000 somewhere else where they actually stand behind their product and not be biased towards rude ghetto staff.

I went to Aspen Dental, they extracted 21 teeth, I picked out new dentures, they put a temp set on the same day. Immediately, they had a problem with my bottom denture. Went thru all the refittings, etc, telling them each time that my mouth wasn't closing. They proceeded to put some kind of paper that marked the teeth and told me my mouth was closing, that it probably just felt weird. Went almost a year before I got my permanent denture, again telling them my mouth isn't closing, the same thing with the paper etc. That was three years ago.
To this day I cannot wear my bottom dentures because my mouth doesn't close, granted, the teeth are meeting, but the problem is they meet before my mouth closes. The last dentist I told this to left the room and called me difficult. Well for over the $8,000 I spent there and the $3000 my dentures cost me, they should fit and I should be able to wear them. I am tempted to go to another dentist and have my bottoms redone, Aspen Dental does guarantee dentures but so far I have not had any satisfaction with them.

After the third time being put on hold when it transferred back to them I stayed on my cell and I called their office using my office phone and wouldn't you know it they picked up!! I still don't have a copy of the records. All I am asking for is a bit of professionalism and follow up.

I was told there was no emergency appointments but I could come in any day they were open and if anyone with an appointment canceled they would see me and x-ray taken to see what if anything was going on.
(BACKGROUND AS TO WHY I WENT TO ASPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE: Because my previous Dentist who I had been going to for YEARS had said something was going on with this tooth and soon would be given me trouble and it involved 4 teeth since it was used to bridge in two and would cost quite a bit. I then decided to get Dental insurance and after I took the insurance the dentist office I wanted to go to had dropped out of the program so ASPEN was the only Dentist that took the Insurance MY BIG MISTAKE).
At any rate I went to ASPEN had 5 fillings and the hygienist looked at my teeth did a small amount of work on my gums gave me a rinse, one electric tooth brush/paste and a mouth wash for which I paid $800.00. On 10 July I asked what the total charges was and was told it was $2100.00, supposedly they did not charge for all the X rays they did. This seemed very excessive since the X rays they took did not pick up on anything going on with my lower left jaw tooth. I will say the dentist, hygienist and office staff were very nice, but the charge was high and with no way to see them in an emergency was not what I had anticipated.

All you have to do is see the ONE star reviews. It seems if you have insurance, they LOVE to take advantage of it! They set down a stack of papers, with some numbers on top stating (in my case nearly $8,000.00 dollars worth) that, "Your insurance will pay this much, here is the total, so this is your balance." This is before they do ANY work and want to collect money from you which is illegal! Katie ** and Daniel ** pegged it as I had the exact same experience as BOTH of them!
Just a word of warning - open the packet of papers before signing or you will get charged for 135 dollar toothbrush, 39 dollar dental rinses (several), along with the cancer screening! If you have to get a partial, as was my case since it was an accident, please check with your insurance first if they cover the cost of temporary partials they will give you after the extractions. Your insurance may ONLY pay for those, which are cheap plastic and NOT pay for the real set as you can only get them once every 5 years... something Aspen NEVER tells anyone.
I should also mention their dentures and partials are supposedly guaranteed, "no questions asked return policy" for 90 days. When you call Aspen Dental's customer satisfaction line and mention this or anything regarding monies owed, they refer you back to the Aspen office that provided the service because the dentist who works there actually owns the practice and everything is governed by THEIR rules, and Aspen acts as if they have no culpability!
I am however giving ONE star to Dr. ** as he is very professional and does some great work with difficult (broken teeth by accident) extractions and pain management. I will only give 1 star though as I believe it is his staff who does the upselling and overall dereliction of duties in explaining the billing process adequately. He needs to make sure HIS good name is not lost in the anguish some of us feel from Aspen Dental, but ignorance is no excuse. Dr. **, please review what your front office staff is doing.
I pay good money for all my health, dental and vision care as many of you do. Do NOT pay for services until rendered, no matter how they pressure you. Read over your itemized billing and have them explain EVERYTHING if you do not understand, and you can REFUSE anything listed you do not want as this will go toward your yearly deductible. I hope this review helps anyone reading to take some notes and above all ASK QUESTIONS!

I would not suggest Aspen Dental to ANYONE. They spend too much on advertising and not enough on customers. We were overcharged by more than $900 when my husband went there. We requested repayment multiple times over 4 months and never got our money back. It was only when we went to the office unannounced and refused to leave and started telling other customers what happened to us that the office manager finally got "corporate" on the phone and processed our refund. They still owe us nearly $60 and still fighting for THAT.
To add insult to injury, the caps my husband had put in FELL OUT THREE TIMES in the first week after they were put in! During a holiday week in the winter, we had to keep going back and back again and again!!! Then when my daughter went there, they told her in her very first appointment that she needed all her fillings replaced (which hadn't been bothering her at all). She went to another dental practice to get a second opinion and guess what? All the fillings were absolutely FINE. Then my son was supposed to go. He made an appointment for a cleaning six months ago for 6 pm (He works 8:30 to 5:30). They confirmed the appointment a few days before via email and text. On the morning of the appointment they called to cancel it!!! He called to reschedule, and they told him, "We can't give you any appointments at 6 pm (even though the practice is open until 7 pm) because our hygienist is only here until 5 pm!!!
Well why did they schedule an appointment for 6 p.m. if they can't do cleanings then??? And then why did it take them six months to realize it??? I would urge anyone who has problems at Aspen Dental to post their reviews on the local office's Facebook page, so EVERYONE in your community can read it!!! Also, call 1-866-273-8606! Plus post on the master Facebook page because their patient satisfaction team supposedly gets involved. I'm waiting for a call back now. We'll see what happens.

I hadn't seen a dentist for a very long time. The SE 14th Aspen Dental team made me feel so so comfortable and at ease with the procedures I was going to have done. I could tell that they all really took pride in what they do and really care about their patients. I was having blood pressure problems before I had an extraction done and they had to send me to the ER and they called to check up on me until I was able to get my blood pressure under control. I would recommend Aspen Dental to anyone.

My husband had extensive dental work done starting in 2015 through the end of 2016. He signed multiple agreements which listed a "patient responsibility" amount. We paid, in full, the amount presented to us by the fiance department. We paid in full prior to procedures or as he checked out immediately after a procedure.
Again, we paid the price of the "patience responsibility" in full prior/immediately after the procedures. About 2 months after his bridge was placed, we were billed for $3,700. Again, we had already paid in full the amount agreed upon and listed as "patient responsibility" prior to the procedure. After calling, I was told by Megan that she would contact the insurance company and get back to me. She said she would put our account on hold while awaiting to hear from the insurance company and that we did the right thing by calling her. She said to ignore the bill for now, and she mentioned she would be in contact after talking to the insurance company. We never heard back from her. Not too long after that, we received a collection notice in the mail.
Unfortunately the Aspen Dental finance department presented us with a deceptive financial agreement and now we have to deal with a collection company. Still haven't heard from Megan!!! I would not recommend Aspen. We needed an accurate estimate and to be fully informed of the cost of service. We were told and agreed to one amount, but have been billed for $3,700 above that amount. As a young family, we simply would not have been able to/chose to have the procedure done had we known the true financial cost. It was deceptive and definitely was presented in a way to hook us. After the procedure is done, it is too late to space out procedures/change treatments/decline treatments due to cost.

I have reviewed Aspen before and they have played games with me since my negative review. Aspen Dental in Keene, NH took my money and ruined my self-esteem in order to get their commissions. They do not help you if you complain so God forbid don't do that and if you have multiple sclerosis or another disability that causes cognitive issues they will use that in order to wear you down and not help you especially if it involves admitting wrongdoing or simply a refund that they state they will give you if you are unhappy with your dentures.
The last thing that they did to me was convince me to get a lower partial in order to save the few remaining teeth I had left that they didn't pull. And when I twice went back because it didn't fit or look right and to discuss them fixing the damage they caused because of this inferior product they said they would get back to me within a week, that was over a year ago. 4 of my teeth had chipped and weakened and in the time that I have spent waiting for them to help me I had a healthy eye tooth break right in half and another tooth break into pieces. I am ashamed and humiliated and horrified by my appearance, I only leave my house if I have no choice.
I used to be a confident beautiful woman before Dr. Jebediah ** got his hands on me. I am now so angry because they sent another letter saying their office manager Kristy tried unsuccessfully to reach me and that is another lie!!! She left one message 2 weeks after I contacted Nancy in the corporate office and I have called and left 3 messages on the voicemail of the number she gave me! She has it set up so it doesn't even say her name, another tactic of these dishonest people with no conscience. I went to another dentist finally for help out of desperation and I have to have the remainder of my teeth removed! I spent a fortune trying to save them because Dr. ** said do whatever it takes you don't want lower dentures! I had cleanings, fillings and extremely painful bone grafts!
I now have to spend 4000 more dollars to replace their horrible upper denture that is falling apart after only a few years, have the remaining teeth pulled and get that lower denture after all! My daughter said to tell everyone and take pictures and post them on social media. I no longer care about the embarrassment and humiliation I will feel coming out!!! This company and their dentists need to be held accountable. I have had enough. I hope this saves at least one person from going through what I have gone through. Dentures are horrible! Do not let them convince you it's the best option for you. They troll for people who can not afford the expense of implants and better dental care. Don't believe them and paying for one implant what I paid for the horrible denture would be better I promise you.
One last thing - don't let them convince anyone that you need the whole scaling deal before you get a second opinion. That is one thing that the hygienist can make their bonuses on! One hygienist refused to give me a regular cleaning because I couldn't afford the planing and scaling! Do not trust these people. Go somewhere else no matter what! They are not your last resort. Please listen to someone whose life has been destroyed because of Aspen Dental.

I have been complaining to them for two years now and they have did nothing about it. I didn't have any dental insurance so I had to pay for them myself. My dentures have been sitting in a denture cup since I got them. The bottom denture cuts my tongue on the inside and the top cuts the top of my tongue. I wish someone would look into them and make them pay the people. Then if you're not satisfied you can get your money back. That's a lie.

I went to Aspen Dental for a new bridge, root canal and crown, cleaning and filling. My quote was for around $6554 minus my insurance cap $1149 and minus discount offered by Aspen of $2662, my out of pocket cost came out to $2743, which I paid before any work was done. Here we are 5 months later. I get a bill from Aspen for $2368. When I called to ask about it, I was told the billing department didn't acknowledge the quoted discount, so she resubmit the paperwork to billing to include the discount and I was told to not worry about it. In the weeks to follow I’m still getting a bill and again I call. I’m still being told they will resubmit it and not to worry about it.
Next thing I know I’m getting automated phone calls saying I need to pay that balance within a certain amount of time before it's given to a collection agency. So again I call Aspen and now they're telling me because my insurance paid more than the quoted cap they gave me they won’t give me the discount of $2662. So because my insurance paid $294 more than they expected they want me to pay the remaining balance of the discount they gave me of $2368 instead of refunding me or my insurance company the $294 that my insurance "over paid". Is this legal? Does anyone know if they can do that? I received 2 collection letters already, should I pay this before it affects my credit?

Day 1. On Thursday June 15th at 1:55pm (on hold for 20:45) I called 813-280-0687. I wanted to get some information about the dentures that I was advised about on my last visit with Aspen Dental. So the girl answered the phone asked "how may I help you" and I gave her my information so she can look me up in the system. And I wanted to know the paperwork I received in February 2017 was that the cheapest I was getting or is there another one less expensive I can get right away. She said she wasn't sure so she put me on hold to find out but never came back. The Aspen recording with the guy telling me to come to Aspen Dental that they will take good care of me repeated over 12 times.
So I hung up and called back. Now I got another girl. At 2:16pm did find me in the system but when I asked her the question again she said that looking at my information dentures went up this year and being that my last appointment was December 2016 a lot has changed. I said "wait a minute my last visit wasn't December 2016. It was February of 2017." She repeated it back "no your last visit was December". I spoke with her for 3:19. After that experience with the 2nd girl I went on Aspen Dental website and voiced my frustrations. Skipped June 16.
Day 2. Called Monday June 19 at 4:11pm. I called 813-962-1400. I spoke with Cristina the office manager and she told me what happened on 6/15 that the girl was alone at lunch time when I called and she was handling all the calls. So now I proceeded to ask Cristina the same question "do I have the basic dentures or is there something cheaper". Cristina advised me that since I want to get the dentures done I should have all my teeth extracted including the bottom. It is recommended. I say "what. No one has ever said that to me before as long as I have been coming here". I told her that the Doctor did give me the options of doing the top and the bottom but advised me to do the top first then decided when I wanted the bottoms done.
After I said that Cristina did say she have to look into how much my insurance would be with the extractions and the dentures I wanted. We spoke for 11:50. I was at work so I told her I would call her back. I called Cristina back at 4:38 pm to see if she has my answer. We spent 6min and 38sec and guess what still no answer.
Day 3. Called back June 20 2017 at 9:07am. The girl that answered wasn't sure who I was. Seems that there is 2 profiles for me in their system so they are not sure which one to look at I guess so I hung up. I talked to her for 5min. Got frustrated that I still can't get my answer so I went into all my paperwork to find the one that was giving to me by Aspen Dental on Dale Mabry in February 2017 and faxed it to them. I waited until I got the ok that the fax was sent successfully before I called back.
I called at 9:24 am. The girl said it was too dark - she couldn't make it out. So faxed it again. Called back at 9:30 - still can't read it. 9:38 the girl said she couldn't hear me. So I called back at 10:01 and guess what. They received my fax and the reason everyone is having such a hard time locating me for some strange reason there is a profile in the system with my last name **.
But guess what. Still didn't get my answer yet so I called back at 10:09 and after 10 calls Finally I got my answer and guess where the answer came from. My fax so from 6/15 at 1:55pm not 1 person in the entire office could give me a simple answer like yes basic is the lowest or no this is the cheapest. Instead I realize that the office I was going to didn't care to fix the account that they were getting paid on to match the information they provided to me to reassure me that I am dealing with competent people that can read a chart or can understand when was the last time a patient was last since in their office not having the patient back what they should already know from whatever the last person keyed in.
So because of all this I am taken my business elsewhere because I need the dentures asap and that office on Dale Mabry scares me to get work done since they may give the doctor the wrong tooth number. Maybe even the wrong patient chart. Please for the love of human being train your staff to look at the system more closely before giving a patient information that they are not sure of. If the shoe was on the other foot how would they feel if they went to their gyn doctor and they mixed them up with someone with a different last name but same address. Or even the birthdate was wrong but because the person that was working placed the 60 yr. old ladies x-rays with the 19 yr. old. That's not good business practice.

I'm very disappointed in my Aspen Dental experience at Keizer Station ever since my hygienist Chrystal was involved in a car accident. Chrystal had me on a successful periodontal maintenance program but indicated I needed some additional work with a root plane and scaling. When I came in for my next visit, I mentioned this to the alternate hygienist who said there was no mention of it in the chart, did my normal period cleaning and sent me on my way. On my next visit, I got a different temp hygienist who said my mouth looked really good and keep up what I was doing. She recommended I go to a 6-month cleaning schedule.
This brings us up to my last visit on 6/22/17. After completing a set of X-rays, I was introduced to yet another hygienist (Sarah). She, in a very matter of fact way, gave me the spiel about gum disease. She showed me the X-rays then began checking my gaps with her probe with an assistant taking notes. She was very rough and quick in her measurements which caused me quite a bit of pain. She then started talking to me about how bad my measurements were and that I had advanced periodontal disease and needed to see a specialist right away.
I told her to continue my period maintenance for another cycle which she refused by saying that it was no longer maintenance and that I needed a specialist. She mentioned the size of the gaps and the bleeding. Well I've been going through this for years and I can say that Sarah's method of measuring my gaps was the most painful I'd ever undergone. No wonder my gums bled and the gaps numbers were high. She was shoving the probes down in my mouth with far more gusto than I've ever experienced before.
At that point I exited the building refusing to subject myself to any more treatment from Aspen Dental. Please do not bill me for this visit because I am completely unsatisfied with my treatment. Just a heads up, in the more than 3 years I've gone to this location, I've only actually seen a dentist on my initial visit. I was supposed to see one this time, but I am no longer interested in being treated at this facility and refused to see them as I walked out the door. How can I go from being fine and looking good to advanced periodontal disease in less than 6 months? Very Dissatisfied Customer.

I went to Aspen Dental as it was the only dentist in my town that was a provider for our insurance. I thought I was going for a check up and cleaning. They took so many xrays that I've never had done before and did all kinds of gum tests and told me I needed deep cleaning for periodontal disease. I've never been told I had gum disease before. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months and I brush and floss daily. I have none of the symptoms which I pointed out to the hygienist. She gave me some story about how it will eventually cause future problems, then gave me a pamphlet on it showing that it's linked to about 8 different diseases, none of which I have.
They had me scheduled for over $1300 worth of work which insurance paid half of, before I left. The dentist also said I had a crevice in one of my back molars that needed filling. I have a crown on that tooth so not sure if that was necessary. I left with that sick feeling in your stomach that tells you you've been had and decided to get a second opinion with a former dentist that I trust, even though I have to drive 3 hours to see him and wait three weeks.

In February 2017, I made my first appointment for a comprehensive exam regarding the ill fitting dentures I had. They were made by another provider. Upon seeing Dr. **, his recommendation was to have the All-on-4 dental implant surgery done. He referred me to an oral surgeon in Greensburg, PA. The evaluation with the oral surgeon went well, and I was a candidate for the surgery. However, the price tag of $51,000.00 was out of my budget. I looked for other options and successfully had the surgery on June 3, 2017 at a clinic within my budget. It is not in the area.
I am 2 weeks post op and doing well; but, because I had to have a bone graft done on the upper jaw, the immediate load plate could not be done. I had to have a new denture made. This denture will not stay in my mouth. I contacted the Johnstown office this morning and was told, by the receptionist, that because the denture was not made by Aspen Dental, nothing could be done. I informed them I needed to discuss this with my spouse and could not exit the dirty office fast enough.
I currently am so fatigued and lack any appetite. I didn't really have any dental work done. The dentist just poke my gums while claiming I have periodontal disease. I had seen my regular dentist less than a year ago and he never mentioned any gum problems. Thus I was truly suspicious at this point. Aspen would not reply to my or My insurance requests and could not answer any of my questions. Each time I called I was told that the claim was 'in process' and to call back in a few weeks. My insurance will only pay for bills 2 years after the fact-- which is today.
The claim is now being processed on the very last possible day due to a wonderfully understanding general manager at the Lebanon location going above and beyond to work this out and send the clinical notes and X-rays to my insurance herself. Midland, Michigan: December 2015 I spent $3000.00 out of pocket for a top denture. I had one adjustment a week later and was told as my gums heal I will need other adjustments. I was told just walk in that I didn't need an appointment for adjustments and there wouldn't be a charge as it was included in the cost of the dentures. Adjustments normally take 5 minutes. Today is June 13, 2017 and I had an appointment for an adjustment due to a sore spot. With my patient record in front of the receptionist she proceeds to tell me it's been a year and a half since my last visit and I will need to go through the new patient orientation which takes 45 minutes and cost $139.00 plus the adjustment cost.
I considered this to be extortion so I walked out of the office, drove to Lowe's and bought a Dremel 3000 sander for $49.00. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to make your own denture adjustments. I used the finest grade sander (just like the dental assistants use) and 1 1/2 minutes later no more sore spot. I gift wrapped the sander and I'm sure my husband will love his new father's day gift.
Another thing Aspen Dental in Midland did that really upset me is when I had my temporary dentures they called me in the back, took my dentures in back to take off the soft liner so I could get a new soft liner. Left me in a room for 45 minutes. I thought they forgot about me but a dental assistant finally came in and asked if I could go wait in the reception area because they needed the room and were short staffed. I said, "You want me to go in the crowded PUBLIC waiting room and wait without my teeth?" I said, "I'm sorry for being vain, but NO I'm not going in public without my teeth!" Aspen has very poor follow-up care with dentures and they have lost me as a customer and worse yet they lost my recommendation. But I highly recommend the Dremel 3000 for making your own denture adjustments. It saved me lots of $$$.

Response... "Oh we can change the charge." When the dentist left, he was aloof. It's rude. And I might add cruel. As you never know which dentist you may have. They resized it and checked it and it always fit well, it also always cracked as if the material it was made out of is flawed. Mind you the insurance paid around $6500 dollars for it. Now after being there so many times you think they would try to speed the process up like letting me drop it off and pick it up, no no no, you need a appointment that takes two weeks, walk-ins can take hours, just to have it melted and sealed. Yes, I'm a new customer with Aspen and the 2nd and 3rd appointments scheduled for my dental work were not correct. I had an email and a written card with different times. The first appointment I had no confirmation just the card; the second appointment I did have email confirmation but with a different time again then the hand written card.
Yes I am busy and not always checking emails constantly. Never had any problems ever with keeping correct medical appointments. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing in this office. I question the practice now and am considering a different dentist. I've had cancer and never mixed up any appointments - there were several. They should stick with voice mail. Written appointment cards or text notifications and all should be the same time. Waste of Time.

What a nightmare! My daughter went to get her wisdom teeth pulled... IDK why someone said she had to to get braces. They pulled all 4. She came home they wouldn't heal. They said, "She didn't clean them good enough", came home after 2 months of return visits, they finally said her jaw maybe broke. They didn't do it... She must of eat hard candy. Sent her for CAT scan then refused to pay for it. Still said, "We didn't do it." Now her mouth is wired shut for another month and they still say they didn't do it. Well she isn't even able to eat soft bread. I don't know things like that could happen I guess, but she suffered, not healing for 2 months, lost work, was sick, and now she has jaw wired shut. If they had done this to start with instead of trying to cover it up it would already be healed. I don't know if there is any permanent damage. I just know poor kid has suffered for 3 months now and it's not over yet.
Can't even eat, and then they gave her liquid ** (can't take it on empty stomach or you get sick and she can't eat) so if she throws up she dies, because jaw wired shut. Wow what a nightmare. Someone add me to any lawsuit... We are currently looking for one of our own... What a nightmare for a parent and a kid to go through. You can't make this kind of nightmare up.

There should be NO stars for this experience: I went to them as No dental insurance. I had a back crumbling tooth. But interim by front tooth chipped the dentist stated he did not like to fill front teeth and I opted for a crown. I went back and forth to their offices about 4 times with hopes but it all went down when dental hygienist got very sarcastic with me after she bruised the inside of my mouth and was not aware of appointment time changes. She went and told on me for explaining my issues and at NO time did I cursed or was I inappropriate. The head dentist owner comes out with a superiority, accusatory attitude and I attempted to explain then the office manager states all their fault due appointment time change. Hygienist gets a zero for being rude and attempting to escalate an issue not there! THEN, the other dentist drills my front tooth down to a nub when I begged him not to.
I was sent to the teeth laboratory 2 times to attempt to get my front tooth a match. (My time and gas) It has not been a match and the dentist forced it on when too wide and too light and I related please do not as too wide and not feeling right. He put permanent glue on anyway and sent me away stating he'll see about it next week. WHAT? I have a lisp now! I called customer service the very next working day 5/30/17 and since that day a complete run around. The office manager at this office called me after about 5 messages and was nasty, rude, accusatory and tells me, "You are a very forward person." YES when you are rude to me and screw up my teeth.
She also says I am not a match for them and she canceled all appointments claiming "only aesthetics". She also canceled my date for oral surgery and she screamed at me as well as being nasty and demeaning. I called their customer satisfaction, what a joke. No response. I am left in a mess and it is very deliberate as they run their offices like a used car lot and the dentist goes from chair to chair with no care, compassion and little skills. They need to get their lying commercials off the TV.

It still hurts. I can only chew soft stuff. Went back. The dentist she file down the fillings and said they will be fine after that, I still got the same issues. I recently went to Aspen Dental for a free consultation for a root canal that I need to have. The exam was very thorough... Actually too thorough as it took 2 hours. After the exam I was taken to the office of the financial adviser and given a recommendation for over $10,000 worth of work! My teeth have always been healthy and I was shocked, as I maintain my cleanings every 6 months. I was told that I needed several crowns, a periodontal treatment and that before I could undergo the root canal I needed a special cleaning!
Also, to set the appointment I needed to give them a $250 deposit! I've never had a dentist ask for a deposit to set an appointment. Aspen is a big rip off... They are in the business of money making and as I see it they are nothing more than scam artists. I went to another dentist, was told that I do not need periodontal treatments and I only need to pay $800 to take care of my root canal. That's a big difference from $10,000. I would never suggest anyone go to Aspen. There are a lot of honest and caring dentists out there and unfortunately Aspen is not one of them.

When I first went to Aspen Dental, everyone was as nice and helpful as can be. I needed to have a partial top denture and a complete bottom set. I used a credit card for this. They charged the full price for the work the day my work started. It has been 2 years and I am still walking around with the temporary first set made until my mouth healed enough for my permanent set. Not the finished product. Twice they made the upper partial and it looked terrible. Both times the doctor blamed me because they couldn't get them right. The last time which was about a year ago. The doctor walked out of the room and was in the lobby discussing me with the office manager. I had enough and walked out.
I called back and spoke with the manager and ask for a refund on the work that wasn't finish. Basically the dentures and partial. She told me it wasn't up to me but the doctor had to decide if I could be refunded. I haven't walked back in the place. As soon as I get the credit card from the 2000.00 dollar overcharge, I plan to use it to go and have them made elsewhere. In the meantime, I'm in constant discomfort. Buyer beware. This place is a rip off.

The tech who took my X-rays shoved the plate into my mouth and looked the other way as she continued to bump the very sore tooth and tissues. They sent in a dental tech to talk about what needed to be done. Mind you, I came in for emergency extraction and all they did was tell me that I should have all my teeth pulled and be fitted with dentures, to the tune of 7500 bucks!!! Then they told me to come back in 2 days and they would do the extraction for 433$. I was in a lot of pain so I agreed to return 2 days later.
When I returned at the time of my appt. I was told that I would have to wait another day because of the fax that I had to get from my Cardiologist, and that the price would be doubled because they would have to monitor my vital signs during the time I was in the chair. This place is JUST A MONEY PIT THAT IS A RIPOFF!!! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, ONLY WHAT THEY CAN RIP YOU OFF FOR. If you care about your teeth, don't go to Aspen Dental, the worst!!!!

I visited Aspen Dental to have two implant crowns placed. I needed the crowns rather quickly, and my regular dentist was unable to fit me in within a reasonable time frame. Aspen required an initial patient visit and consultation, and they did not keep me waiting long. The receptionists were friendly. However, the hygienist and dentist did not treat me with the same respect. First, the dental hygienist was exceptionally unfriendly and continued to carry on conversations with other hygienists. This would not be a problem if it was limited, but she completely ignored me and did not adequately explain what we were doing. Then, the dentist simply walked in without introducing himself and stated that I had 10 cavities that needed filling. This was a serious red flag to me as I had visited my regular dentist less than six months ago, and he had not found any cavities that needed filling.
Furthermore, they were insistent that I fill these cavities as soon as possible. I insisted that I did not want to fill the cavities without a second opinion from my regular dentist, and the Aspen dentist offered to have his colleague in the other room confirm his diagnosis. Unfortunately, he seemed to lack a basic understanding of what a second opinion is. I refused and insisted we only discuss the implant crowns, which he did after pressuring me further. I eventually left the office after seeing their billing specialist. She charged me for the consultation, which cost $139 as she insisted my insurance wouldn't cover it. She also promised me a quote for the implant crowns a little later. Later that afternoon, she called with the quote, and it was over $4,000. She stated that my insurance did not cover any of the crowns.
At this point, I was very suspicious and decided to get a second opinion at First Advantage Dental. The initial consultation with First Advantage cost $6.40. It turns out my insurance did cover it. The implant crowns at First Advantage cost $570.40. It turns out my insurance covered those too. Without insurance at First Advantage, the crowns would have been around $2,800. As for those 10 cavities, they were nowhere to be found. Needless to say, I decided to go with First Advantage over Aspen.
Somehow, Aspen managed to code and bill the procedure, so that it would be more expensive for me and would not be covered by insurance. They showed far more concern for their bottom line than what would be best for me. The numbers don't lie. With or without insurance, First Advantage was significantly cheaper and had better care to boot. Yes, I had to wait a bit longer, but two months without some of my favorite foods is far better than a lifetime of dental problems. Before you decide to go with Aspen, please get a second opinion.

In the month of April, I went to Aspen Dental for a cleaning. This was my first experience with this company. When I scheduled the appointment everything was fine. I had no problems with scheduling. When I enter the dental office I filled out the papers as usual. They took me in to perform some X-rays. As they performed the X-Rays they used a trainee to perform the X-rays. When they started to use the instrument that they use to examine my teeth it started to scratch my lower gums. I complained about the pain and asked if there was any other way to perform the procedure. They told me that they have done this procedure before with the same instrument and never had a complaint.
When I made the complaint a few other of the employees came to ask what was going on. I did not make a scene but they escalated the situation. Then they said that if I was to be paying privately (or not going through insurance) then I would be able to have a better care. This truly wasn't the way to treat a patient. I felt that I was discriminated due to the insurance I have. I make this report to say that I will never go there again.

Aspen Dental ads are false and not at all how much it costs and treating you with privacy. They never checked to see if my insurance would cover the 50% and told me they did. This replacement plate was $1880.00 and is not worth it. All they were interested was redoing my lower original teeth which is fine. The dental office I went to was in Rib Mountain, Wausau, WI. The advertisement to the cost was not correct. This office is not professional at all.
I am 67 years old and my past two dentists I had in my lifetime have retired but they were excellent. I am very dissatisfied and feel everyone needs to beware of the practices going on at that office. When you go in for an appointment, they think you are a new patient and are clueless to the patients they had before or why you are there. I went in to try and get the replacement upper to fit so I could wear it and they were going to start work on lower teeth that I did not want done until I get verification that I have the coverage as this is what they should be doing and are not doing. They do not care what they charge their patients.

First let me start by saying they don't even deserve the star that I had to give them. But as my story goes about a year-and-a-half ago I went to Aspen Dental to get dentures. I do realize that MRSA is rampant in most hospital slash settings where bodily fluids are exposed. Minding that I am also not uneducated in the medical world and I have dealt with everything under the Sun trying to track what was wrong with me but could never imagine that now a year-and-a-half later I am finding out I have to have a heart valve transplant. No one could trace this problem to MRSA directly for the past year-and-a-half even though Aspen Dental is known to have exposed quite a few people.
What I'm understanding is if we can use ultraviolet light in a chicken factory to kill bacteria what's the problem with using that in a hospital or a dentistry setting. I know have to go through the aggravation of a heart valve transplant and it's very bad considering that the disease has been in my body for a year-and-a-half. I've read many things on Aspen Dental. I wish I would have read them before I went there. I don't understand how they are operating when it seems like 70% of their patients come out with something that they're not expecting.
I think places that are fly by night denture shops should be shut down totally. It should only be done in an oral surgeon office or an operating room. There is no excuse for this many people to have suffered and believe me I have suffered and it has cost me many things from financial to my family and my life so please if you're reading this take into consideration what I'm saying and do some research because a year-and-a-half in your life is a long time to waste!!! And this is all still barring that I can successfully overcome this and not wind up dead because of it. It has really ruined my life in many ways.

I went to Aspen Dental for their free first visit with the understanding that I needed a teeth cleaning in the near future. They took innumerable x-rays, had their hygienist evaluate my level of gum disease. I knew I had problems because I have had dry mouth for ten years due to medications I take. When the dentist came in, he showed me the x-rays and told me that any number of teeth had some level of decay, that I had bone loss and a huge cavity in one tooth next to another one that had root canal and a crown on it. Three of the teeth he said were decayed had just been filled by my previous dentist, and he wanted to do root canal and crown on the one that was nearly gone from decay already. These pronouncements put me on my guard because why would a dentist want to do a root canal on a tooth that was practically gone?
I asked the dentist at what point does one just give up on saving the tooth and go for a non-decaying option, especially since my dry mouth was going to continue to affect my dental condition. He just said all teeth are worth saving. I guess so, if that is how you make your money. I was impressed with the professional personnel of the operation despite my suspicions that some work might not be necessary. I thought I'd just get the work done that I felt was most important. But you can't do that with Aspen Dental! They whisked me into the office of their financial manager who informed me that nothing could be done until I had the periodontal work done at cost of $2500! She gave me the excuse that because they had done the exam and knew of my gum problems, it would be illegal to proceed in any other way. Well, I wasn't having it and I left.
This experience was so out of the ordinary and seemed so unfair that I sat down and wrote to the dentist himself to make sure that he knew what the business end of the operation was doing. In the meantime, I checked with Consumer Affairs and found out that this is their practice and my suspicions were well founded. It appears from the evidence that Aspen is more in the business of finance than of dentistry. My personal policy is never to owe money, so I was not one to be enticed by the offer of their credit. I feel sorry for those who were or will be bamboozled by this shifty operation! The appointment went well, and I was very pleased with the staff up until the point of the cost of procedure. Stated in the initial paperwork was the interest in a "dental veneer consultation". I was a little surprised that ex-rays and oral hygiene exam proceeded even seeing the dentist. I very clearly stated that the appointment was for a cosmetic procedure and would not covered by any insurance.
The veneers were to be a Graduation gift for my 18 year old son, who has perfectly healthy teeth but was in need of his perfect smile. The request was for 6 upper veneers. When sitting down in the office with the office manager, she informed me that the cost would be over $15,000. WHAT!!! That was all that I could say! They were quoting 12 veneers and replacement for a crown which was only 2 years old on a back molar. The manager then said, "Let me see if I can find you any discounts." She got it down to $11,000. Then I asked, "What exactly was the amount for the veneers?" This was when I found out that they were quoting 12 veneers instead of 6.
After the final quote of $5800 I told the manager that Bright Smile Dental had quoted $4200 for the same work, so I would prefer to work with my dentist. "Are we not entitled to a second opinion when it comes to dental work?" She then told me that typically there was not a charge for a consultation but she was going to charge me. Quite honestly, I did not expect a free consultation and was willing to pay. Not a problem. I then said that I have had many consultations in the past, and could not understand why my son needed a 1 hour exam before even speaking to the dentist. I asked for a consultation, not an exam." She immediately said, "Good day. I will not discuss this with you and there will not be a charge." I told her that she was rude and left. This company needs to re-exam the entire new patient process. In 2011 I had Aspen make me new dentures (both arches). I had 1 appointment for impressions, 1 for a fitting, and 1 when the new dentures were shoved in my mouth. I had chosen and paid for the Aspen top-of the line product. I instantly complained about the fit and poor quality, and was told to just try them out and come back for a reline in a few weeks. I was stunned. Brand-new Dentures and a reline? Well, I was physically guided out of the office. (NO, I did not make a scene that would justify their behavior.) Prior to this I had been a denture wearer for 25 years, and I knew the Aspen dentures had been produced in China. But other pressing medical needs at this point took priority, so I didn't have the time to follow up. Until about 9 months ago things seemed tolerable, but then I started to have excruciating pain in both my jaws. I could not figure out why.
Then one day it hit me like a ton of bricks. I came across my previous dentures and laid them all out, side by side. As mentioned before the Aspen Dentures are not of the quality I paid for, but next to my old dentures they look like something a 10 year old made. Here is the clincher each arch is missing 2 teeth. That's right: Each arch is supposed to have 14 teeth. Mine only have 12 teeth per arch. Imagine my unhappiness. Now I also had my answer why my mouth started to look more and more like a petrified prune even with the dentures in.
3 Weeks ago I went to Aspen Concord, NH to discuss the situation and request copies of my treatment plan, etc.. I was told the paperwork was no longer in Concord as it had been shipped to the corporate office in Syracuse, due to inactivity. I asked how they justified this since my dentures have a 7 year warranty, implying that I should be carried as an active patient until the full 7 years elapsed. I was told by the office manager that the reason for the "missing" teeth was that they were unable to fit 14 teeth per arch because my gums were too small. I almost choked on the dentures laughing. So I asked the lady: I still have my old dentures (and yes, they still fit) how it was possible that in less than 1 month my gums shrunk to that extreme to warrant a reduction of 2 teeth per arch. I still have all my dentures and are willing to take this where it leads me.
I just called Aspen Concord 4/24/2017 to see if my records have arrived yet, and was told corporate (Syracuse, NY) has not send them yet. It will take a bit because they have to dig through all kinds of boxes. I don't know what will come of this, but being retired (68) and out of my money, I do have lots of time and a decent car. I am willing to blow $300.00 to $400.00 for a couple of magnetic signs, advertising Aspen's unparalleled quality of services, products, and prices and/or lack thereof. Parking my car in their parking lot 1 day per week = 4 days (Same owner has 4 locations in NH). That plus riding around and going to various sports activities should get the word out. America the Beautiful. Freedom of speech for all. Best wishes to all of you.

After completing the phone call I was told my cost for the procedure would be $92.40 which I paid and had the procedure completed. I then received a bill from Aspen for $455.60. I called Delta Dental and was informed Aspen was not in network so I was charged the full amount. I proceeded to call Aspen and was informed that it is not determined if a patient is in network until a claim is submitted. My group number determines whether or not I'm in network. I asked why I was not told I was not in network because someone from their office talked with Delta Dental the day I had this procedure. Also, if I was not in network, why did pay $92.40? I did not receive an answer.
I consider this the typical bait and switch scheme. They told me my responsibility was $92.40 which I paid and then after completing the procedure I'm billed another $455.60 for three small cavities. Corporate dentistry comes to Winona with the promise of free assessment/evaluation, great pricing for dental procedures and financing. None of this could be further from the truth and I mean miles from what the average soul would deem as reality. What happened to us appears to happen to everyone that comes in contact with the Aspen dream team. Please, please and please do your homework regarding Aspen or trouble will follow, even if you decide to go with another provider. Aspen assumes everyone that comes through the door is looking for a loan. They actually function more as a bank, than a dental services provider.
I suggested Aspen to my Son because of their inviting advertisements and promises of discount dentistry. His initial evaluation was nearly two hours after a 30 minute wait in the lobby. I had all kinds of questions when he was finished and he appeared visibly very irritated and confused. I asked him what they did and his reply was, a brief oral exam, X-rays and the rest was a sales pitch. He wanted nothing to do with Aspen and I thought a cancellation would end this experience. No, no, no and no it did not! My Son signed what he firmly believed was a Treatment Plan and not a loan agreement.
One of Aspen's tactics is the vague/no communication customer service approach, which is something you can read in hundreds of the negative reviews posted online. How vague you ask? Of the more then a dozen phone calls I made over a two week period, I have yet to receive a single return phone call from Aspen. The receptionist would offer responses like "ok" or "you need to talk to the Business Manager." I was never able a speak directly via the telephone to the Aspen Business Manager. I physically had to go to his office to speak to the Business Manager, which was to come later. After we got home from the appointment, I called to cancel the follow-up procedures and the receptionist response was "ok".
A week after the appointment a loan agreement arrives in the mail, BP is beginning to climb and every fiber of my very being begins to tighten and throb like a bad physical injury. I called Aspen immediately getting more vague responses and told "the Business Manager will call you back." You know by now the Business Manager never called me back and this scenario was to go on a dozen more times to no avail. A quote to do the work he needed from a local provider was a little more than half of what Aspen charged for the evaluation. The evaluation does not include any work done, not even a cleaning. We also intended to pay for the appointment upon satisfaction of work completed, not to apply got a loan.
I want to apologize to all that were involved in my last visit to Aspen. Their complete lack of communication and vague responses given when they choose to respond are nothing short of frustrating. I am sincerely sorry for my behavior, but it never would have reached this level if they would have communicated. If this does not define predatory lending, I not sure to what depths of depravity you would need descend to qualify beyond this debacle. Leaving irritated I was stopped by a customer coming into Aspen to complain about ill fitting dentures that upon several visits has yet to get satisfaction. Her only comment was "big mistake". Leaving Aspen I needed to pick up something at Menards and the cashier asked how I was, my reply was Aspen Dental. The cashier rolled her eyes and said she went to Aspen and the work they did needed to be fixed correctly by another provider - her reply was "big mistake".
Hearing stories of dissatisfaction regarding Aspen from the next two people I encountered, seems to me like a mathematical impossibility. Frankly, I am embarrassed about my escalated behavior, but this confrontation could have been averted by simply communication. There are thousands of negative reviews online. Aspen was also featured on the PBS series Frontline and to make it on Frontline, it has to be controversial.
Corporate dentistry puts profits before patient care and way before patient care. You have heard the term "pay to play" a lot lately in regards to politics. At Aspen there no such thing as a free toothbrush. In fact, Aspen overly charges for the menial and procedures are way beyond your local provider. While I was writing this I took a phone call and mentioned to this person that I was penning an editorial. He went on to tell me how the receptionist checking her mother in for a medical appointment was on the other line speaking to an attorney filing fraud charges against Aspen. How is that even possible and that really makes you wonder how and why...

If you are going to Aspen Dental, you and your insurance company are being taken advantage of. Those dentists should be ashamed of themselves. On March 2, 2017, I had an 'exam' at Aspen Dental. According to the "exam", I had multiple issues with my teeth. They presented me with a treatment plan estimate of $1330.00 & I left there alarmed. Unbelievable. I had only missed going to the dentist for 6 months, how could these terrible issues have developed so fast? So I made an appointment with a different dentist. To get a second opinion, so to speak. The exam was great. I was complimented on my teeth and care that I was giving my dental work. None of the issues that Aspen Dental alarmingly said were going on were actually there. I would not recommend that anyone go to Aspen Dental.

too big and they just did what they wanted. And out the door I go. It was an outrageous price especially when you have to wait in line and 9 months was some what of a wait I should not of had. They work on so many people at one time and should finish up on the older cases first before starting with new customers. Have any ideas of where to go to have these fixed so I can eat out once in a while.

I have been dealing with Aspen Dental in Henrietta NY. I had extensive work done and was extremely fearful. The reason for this review is to let Aspen Dental know that the most important thing about these procedures is the comfort level. I want to let you know (and I was just there yesterday March 30th 2017) that Bambi was there for me yet again. This woman is caring, compassionate and professional. I owe my beautiful smile to her. Thank you Bambi, I don't think I would have been able to do it without you.

I went to Aspen to see if they could fix a broken tooth. They took Xrays and gave me a free exam. Then told me I needed descaling, two crowns, a bridge and added in a water pick in on top of everything else. Never touched my broken tooth. Walked out the door with an estimate of over 7000.00 dollars. My neighbor told me about his dentist so my wife made me an appointment. This dentist did Xrays, fixed the tooth, cleaned my teeth and I did not need descaled after all. Isn't that funny all for around 412.00 I'm good to go.

I went in for a regular cleaning and xrays. I then go to the room where the xray person told me my teeth were very bad. The "dentist" came into the room looked at my xrays and stuck the mirror into my mouth and told me I had cavities on every tooth and I needed a root canal on at least one. They told me I need to get my wisdom teeth out as well and that they do do that right in their office. I went back to the waiting room for about 10 minutes when I then went into the payment area. She handed me a bill of $13,500. She didn't offer any payment plan and just told me to sign up for their credit card, which of course I did not do. I look at the bill and see they charged me $200 for each filling, around $3000 for a root canal and crown, and about $2000 for wisdom teeth removal. Not to mention I never even got a cleaning as I was suppose to.
A few weeks later I went to another dentist who used the same xrays and where they told me I only had 4 cavities and there was no need for a root canal. Of course I still needed my wisdom teeth removed which I only paid about $1000 for. After this trip to the dentist I had an estimated bill of about $1500. The most expensive being the wisdom teeth and the other $500 being my surface fillings. Needless to say. NEVER GO TO ASPEN DENTAL!!! They will scam you and take your money and not even do what you signed up for.

I, unfortunately, chose to go to Aspen Dental when choosing a dental provider. It ended up I needed teeth pulled and a full denture on top and a partial lower. It's less than a year and a half later and I have, so far had three of the top teeth just fall out of the denture. The plate doesn't fit properly, and the partial just flies out if I bite down! So, today when they tried to overcharge me for my cleaning, I decided I had had enough and asked them, admittedly not politely or quietly, to refer me elsewhere.
Guess what? Only Aspen covers the warranty on these, it's not transferrable. So I said I wanted my money back. I have eleven thousand dollars invested here. Quote from my dentist, "not going to happen"! There are so many things wrong with this place! From incompetent care, never being on schedule, and refusing to honor their own guarantee. Aspen Dental in Auburn, Massachusetts could not be worse! The same doctor owns the office in Worcester too, so you can't really transfer locally!

This was my first visit to Aspen Dental in Rutland, Vt. I am not new to dentures as this would have been my third pair. The wait in the lobby when you have a scheduled appointment is absolutely annoying. I had to go to the front desk three times. I was told over the telephone that I would get impressions the same day. Didn't happen. When I finally received the new dentures I was sure they had used someone else's mouth. I absolutely hated them. They talked me into doing some adjustments and I still hate them. They are too big for my mouth and they click together when I talk.
I want my money back immediately! I will never deal with these people again. My only recourse was to give them the dentures back. They did not offer a price reduction if I agreed to several adjustments. They didn't even offer to remake them. The Better Business Bureau should be involved with this business. I am a senior citizen. The dentist wasn't friendly nor was the account manager.

I complained 2 times by phone & went in twice, always told the swelling & pain (4 weeks after) were normal. Can't the man make sure all the roots are attached to the tooth & count. Now has to be taken out by oral surgeon. It's been over 2 years getting them to acknowledge their mistake & "say" they're going to issue the money. They don't have an oral surgeon at my location, thank God.

I took my 16 year old son to Aspen Dental in Opelika, AL in 2015. He had Medicaid. I was not told that they do not take Medicaid until today when I went into Aspen Dental to find out why I have a bill for $89. They took my son's Medicaid card and copied it in 2015... We saw the dentist for an x-ray and cleaning. The financial person told me that it was approved and the cleaning and exam was completed on the second visit. They wanted to do extra work on him and I declined that because it wasn't needed. This year, 2017, I get a bill for $89 and went to Aspen Dental to check it out. I looked in my file at the Dental office and saw only MY BCBS of Alabama info and none of my son's Medicaid info was in there at all. I believe that the previous people in the office, no longer there, made a mistake with their billing info, was fired and now I am paying the price. None of the copies of Medicaid made by the previous receptionist was in the Aspen Dental file.
I got a call earlier this year from Aspen Dental asking for my son's Medicaid card number so they could bill Medicaid. I told them that I don't have that for him anymore. This Dental company appears to be scamming people upfront in order to get money. Add me to any class action lawsuit that you all have or may have against Aspen Dental. Something is not right. I'm on my way to the Medicaid office now to report them. Thanks. The best way to reach me is by email until I get a new personal phone number.

I went to Aspen Dental, Mentor Ohio in November because they advertised free exam and X-rays for new patients. I needed to have my teeth checked as I had cancer in 2016 and chemo is hard on the body including the teeth. Turns out I had a cracked tooth. They told me I had to pay up front so I financed with their bank. When I returned for my cleaning, the dentist told me I had periodontal disease. The total amount owed jumped to over $1000. I financed that and she cleaned my teeth. She asked that I return in 3 months for a follow up. I asked if the $1000 I paid included the follow up and I was assured it did. The week before my follow up appointment, I called again to confirm it was already paid for and they confirmed it was.
When I got to the appointment, the hygienist told me it would be another $120. I told her I was not paying any more money and was told this visit was included. She told me they billed me wrong and that she would do it as a courtesy but could get into trouble if they found out. I am really having a hard time believing her. I can't help but wonder if they set their own prices. She told me I needed to come back in another 4 months and it would cost at least $120 for that visit. First of all, I don't appreciate being scolded. Second of all, their prices shouldn't increase with every visit. If they messed up on their billing, that is their issue not mine. It took her 15 minutes to clean my teeth. For $120? Seriously? I plan to never set foot in that place again.

I thought I had found a dentist that I could use for a long time. I hadn't been to the dentist for over 5 years and decided to start going for my cleanings and a cavity. I went in for my 3rd cleaning, following the every 6 month schedule. My last visit/cleaning I mentioned having a lot of sensitivity in a bottom tooth for the last 6-9 months. They looked at the x rays and said that they had done a filling on my last visit (which I forgot about) in that tooth that was deep. I was told I could expect sensitivity and that I would just have to get used to it.
At my next scheduled cleaning, I decided to drive to an hour south to a dentist that promotes Mini Dental Implants. I have several lower rear teeth missing and wanted to see about implants, so I can chew. During the initial free consult, the dentist asked if I was having any other issues. I mentioned the above, so he took a look at the x rays and said the filling was pretty shallow. he got out the light and mirror and found that the back of the tooth was fractured in 3 places and one of them looked severe. After several attempts, over a couple months, to repair/save the tooth, it became infected (twice) and I had it extracted. I feel that had Aspen found the fracture 6-9 months sooner - I may not have lost the tooth.

It's all unicorns and rainbows. Read independent reviews and you get a different story.
It amazes me how such a horrible corporation can have such growth. Patients responses are the same across the country. Now get this people... There were THREE MORE IMPRESSIONS done -- separate appointments -- to try and get the thing made correctly. Today is March 10th, and I have yet to get what I paid them for on Day One. They've had over $800 (a 60% deposit) of MY money tied up this whole time. First, it was "sure, you'll have them by Christmas"-- but, weren't specific about what YEAR at Christmas, I guess. They called me this morning to confirm my upcoming Monday appointment without confirming that my partial has actually--finally!-- been received. And guess what? NO, it's not there yet! It's like they don't even try to talk to each other to enable adequate support for their clients.
As many times as I've been in there for this One Thing, they still get confused as to what they're trying to have made for me. There is no accountability at the Tallahassee practice. No one there (with the exception of their new dentist) seems concerned about solving their problems in providing the One Thing the company advertises on TV- dentures and partials. Aspen Dental in Sandusky Ohio messed up my son's teeth. The wait in the waiting room was over an hour. Then the dentist broke a good tooth and cut the inside of his mouth. He packed the tooth and told him he would have to go to a specialist to get it fixed. On the other side of the mouth he could not get the tooth grinded enough and again told to see a specialist. Sent home without a referral and no ATB and you guessed it. Both cheeks swollen and bruised. WORST VISIT EVER. Had to go to family doctor to get meds. Pain was unbearable and this is the worst service.
They advertise you can walk in and that is not true at this location. It took three weeks to even get in. Never again. When I had went for my appointment 4 hour wait and nothing was done. Wanted to send me to a dentist downtown Sandusky to do a root canal. Then did no service to me. But office manager showed me 4000 of work needed. He said I should have been showed my xrays and told this.
To me it was almost like bait and switch and I know I was only told I might have to use a little dental cream of sorts to hold them in. I carry Polident with me in my purse and gym bag, it's bad when you can't bite a banana and chose the place you eat by what soft you can get there. I don't think the one side of the bottom teeth are all they way down on my gums because food goes up under them. I was charged $6000.00. They gave me a loan called Care Credit which I am still paying for and both sets of the teeth are worthless. Money back guarantee would be fine. I took the day off work, was on time for appointment, but they kept me waiting for a very long time. PLEASE DO NOT EVER GO TO ASPEN DENTIST. EVER!!! They are the most deceitful people ever. I wish everyone would read these reviews before visiting one of the Aspen Dental offices. A friend of mine went to an Aspen Dentist Office in Conway South Carolina. My friend went to them because he could not get an appointment his regular Dentist this week that does accept his insurance. First of all he is a sick man. He is HIV positive. But in remission. And very healthy. But he is on a lot of medication. He had a spot in his mouth near a tooth that has been bothering him. The spot became infected. Aspen Dental claims he needs the tooth pulled. And to their credit the ONLY thing they did do that was responsible as far as Doctor care was they did give him an antibiotic.
However, this is where the "Doctor Care" ends and the deceitful manipulation begins... they whisked him out of the Dentist chair to the Financing Office to run his credit and "approve" him for a list of unnecessary procedures. They talked him into a list of unnecessary work including Flouride Treatments (which are only fine on children). He did question one procedure that was just an old filling that had partially came out. They had him down for a crown procedure. He asked about it and they said "oh yes we can just replace the filling and do not need to do a Crown". Turns out they do not take any insurance. If they do they find procedures necessary to finance. I asked to see his paperwork. The interest rate was 27.24 percent. In small print was the amount of 900.00 and some odd dollars that had to be paid upfront for all of this unnecessary work to be done.
All he really needed was the tooth taken care of. But in the course of the gust they talked him into all of this unnecessary work that DID NOT need to be done. He lives on a fixed income with his job. He cannot afford all this extra expense. He was able to cancel the financing and upcoming appointment. I then called them and told them they took advantage of him and how do they live with themselves. I talked to the Office Manager that barely spoke English. Bad, bad, bad experience. They should be put out of business. They are CROOKS. Luckily my friend was able to cancel. But reading all other stories some people were not so lucky. I was told it would be $150 which was paid in full, provided with an estimate and receipt of payment with no balance due. I had the sealants done one week later. In Jan. I received a bill for an additional $260 because my insurance denied the claim because it is a procedure usual done on children. I called on 1/20 and spoke with Ashley and after speaking with her office manager, she said they would resubmit the claim and cover the remaining balance.
I just received another bill and when I called today, Ashley would not speak to me but said that she never said that. I asked for a recording of the call, but according to them, they are not recorded. I was never told my insurance would be used for the sealants and that the cost of the sealants was dependent on my insurance company. I have a detailed bill which has the sealants as 29 per tooth which I paid before the work was done and after the fact, they are now saying it is over 50 per tooth. I never would have agreed to over $400 worth of dental work when I don't even get cavities.
This entire experience is a scam. They had time to verify my insurance benefits or tell me to, did not tell me that they were using my insurance for the sealants, or what the cost would be if it was not covered. They could come back and say each sealant is now $100, and say I owe the difference because I have no way of knowing otherwise as none of this was on my estimate or initial bill.
Ashley also lied about coving the difference. Aspen's recording says that you are never surprised by your bill because they give you the detailed estimate in advance. That is not the case at all and they lie about who their office managers are. Ashley was going to put me in touch with the office manager when she refused to help me, but I guess he/she didn't want to take the call so they said they'd resubmit the claim and cover the difference. Now when I call back, she is the office manager but let someone else deal with me and said she never said they'd cover the remaining balance.

Everything is suppose to be included in the financing but they wind up billing you more later. The big problem we have is my husband asked dentist about a place under his tongue and dentist said "oh I don't think it's anything to worry about." Aspen Dental did not notify me that they would be closed. Since it was freezing cold you would think they would have allowed the patients to sit in the lobby but they didn't. Also, on another occasion, Aspen Dentist canceled my dentist appointment and did not even have the courtesy to call me. I had an hour drive to get there.
The other complaint is they charged me a co-pay when I didn't have a co-pay and they didn't bill my insurance company which is Liberty Insurance and charged me $119.00 and refused to see me unless I paid. Since I had went through so much to get this appointment I was forced to pay. It was a blessing I had a credit card with me. Another dentist didn't find this. I responded to an advertisement for $19 for an x-ray in 2013 and was billed for $114? I've been trying to address this since because I continued to get the bills in 2014, 2015... My insurance contact called me back to say that Aspen said they wouldn't send out anymore bills until it was resolved - not true! I had to call my insurance people again because my account is in collections now! Really!! I called the collections company, they just asked for the money - refused to check into the matter. This took points off my credit, of course made a derogatory mark on my credit. On this final call, Aspen confirms a billing address, which was incorrect, then my carrier states that because this bill is so old that it will likely be denied. It would take over 17 visits. I just wanted a simple cleaning. My teeth feel fine. I told the lady I think I am gonna study on it a little first. The doctor looked like almost a teenager. I will make another post after I visit my regular dentist.

I was told they could get me in on Tuesday which was five days away. I say "you mean IM suppose to deal with this infection/Abscess until then?" "Well that is the first time we can see you... so if you have an emergency go somewhere else!!!" I had my teeth pulled out and went to Aspen Dental to get upper and lower dentures with insurance I had bought for dental. After the original pricing of 4200.00, once we got temp dentures and waited 3 months after having my teeth pulled 4 months before, what the dentist said was gum shrinkage. What a CROCK. The dentist took my overbite totally so that I could not chew properly. Once I received the final dentures the bottom ones would not stay in even with a lot of Fixodent and the dental response was "Use Fixodent to keep them in" and barely tried to align the dentures correctly as the Dentist wanted to charge 25,000 to put posts. SO basically I paid 4200 to get top dents as my bottom ones are horribly fit and if I want a realign after first refit it will be 250. That is almost as bad as the secretary that greets patients. She is meaner than a rabid dog. They also say I have a 38.00 credit that I will not get back. It is not the money it is the purpose.

First of all, they say free x-rays and exam. No insurance it's free. But with insurance, $80.00 for x-rays (Insurance fraud?). The Dentist that removed my husband's wisdom teeth after giving him at least 20 shots in his mouth to numb around where he was pulling, said, "This is why we give ** for infection, so the numbing meds will work better." They didn't give him ANYTHING for infection before the teeth were removed. So my husband had to endure the last of the 4 teeth pulled not numbed. And had to shut the door because he was yelling so much. Needless to say we were back today 2 weeks after canceling the cleaning and the $138.00 power toothbrush easily written into the financing. And we'll see so far the write off $550 of the bill and are to speak with the owner, Doctors and will get back with us!

I broke a molar & needed emergency care so I googled 'emergency dentistry' in my area. I made an appointment with Aspen Dental that ended up being canceled 2 times by them because they are "short staffed". I finally got in to see them & they told me I had $8,000 worth of work that needed done on all of my teeth then tried to convince me to get a root canal on the broken molar. I declined and asked to have it extracted. They wrote me a prescription for antibiotics and nothing for the extreme pain I was in (even after I requested something/anything for the pain). They made an appointment for me to come back for the tooth extraction 20 days later.
A few days before my scheduled appointment they call me to tell me they needed to reschedule for the following month. Needless to say I was irate and demanded to be seen, so they made an appointment for another location. When I arrived I was extremely nervous and the receptionist told me that if my blood pressure was too high they wouldn't see me. She told me they ran my insurance and what I owed so I paid the difference with my Health Savings Account. Finally I was called back to a room and sat for 15 minutes, waiting. The doctor came in, never introducing himself but instead said, "You're not going to get a root canal?" I said, "no". He followed up with, "So, you're going to have it pulled?" in a condescending tone and then he left the room.
When he came back he sat down, shined the light on my face and said, "You know, if you didn't have this cavity I wouldn't have to pull the tooth" and then he started to put a needle in my mouth! I totally wasn't prepared! I received the shots and he said he would be back. I sat in a room for 34 minutes when he finally came back with a nurse. He began to pull my tooth and my head was shifting back and forth because he was rocking the tooth so hard. This went on for about 7-10 minutes and then he asked the nurse for another tool. She left the room and came back with it. He proceeded to pull and rock my tooth (all the while my head was rocking back and forth still). For what seemed like an hour went by but was really 10 minutes it finally came out. He gave the tooth to the nurse and walked out of the room. I was sweating and shaking, the nurse talked to me until I calmed down a bit. Then she brought me out to the reception area.
The receptionist was so involved in her conversations with her coworkers I had to sit in front of her and wait until she was done talking about all of their lunches and when she would be back at this particular location to see all of them again. Then she looked at me and said, "because the doctor had to use unexpected instruments there are additional charges." I said, "Are you going to run it through my insurance first?". She laughed, "It's only $7. You can pay that!".
So I gave her my credit card, she ran it through, gave me my receipt and said, "Have a nice day." I then had to ask if there was a follow-up appointment, she said "no". And then I asked about the gauze in my mouth, when I should change it and how often. She replied, "Change it every 20 minutes until you don't see anymore blood" then she turned her back to me and proceeded to talk to her coworkers. I was FLOORED! I will never go back to Aspen Dental and if I hear anyone bring up this dentistry I will advise them to go elsewhere and explain why. I have never had an experience like this before, it was horrible!!!

Everything was horrible! It's obvious all this company thinks about is money and sales, but not the wellbeing of patients. I came in seeking help for a loose cap, I ended up leaving with an invoice for over $5000 worth of work. What I initially came for was ignored. I ended up doing a walk in to another local dentist office about my dental concern and they immediately fixed the problem and told me of the other issues we can work on in the future. They (the other dental office) definitely got my business because they showed me that they were there to help and not shake every dime out of me. Them taking care of me at my time of need makes me want to be a loyal customer to them.

First of all, they try to convince you to have thousands of dollars of work done. That is not an option when you are on Social Security. Second, I lost a semi-front tooth and the Dentist suggested a replacement tooth without giving me any information on how it would work. It is not really attached to anything, I can not have it in while eating unless I want to swallow it. It falls out even when I talk. It is very tiny and you just shove it between the remaining teeth and hope it stays in. This cost me $600.00! I am not happy but do not know what recourse I have.

I was very pleased when I heard that Aspen Dental offered free xrays and exam to new patients. So I set up an appointment and visited them. Walked in the door and got no greeting. The teenybopper assistant hurt me during xrays because she clearly had no clue how to position the mouthpiece. Was directed to the exam room and Sat there for 11 minutes. During this time I got to listen to one of the doctors' babble to another patient about their DISGUSTING gum infection (EW!). I also happened to notice that my xrays were on a screen behind me so I looked at them for a min and some rude employee walked over to see what I was looking at (come to find out it was my doctor). She then gave me a dirty looked and walked away. So I kept sitting... waiting...
Finally, the weirdo comes back, does not tell me her name, and goes, "K, what's bothering your teeth?" I said, "Um... Nothing? I want a check up." She goes, "oh," and looks away and looks at my xrays. She then turns around and says, "K, you need 3 fillings..." I'm like, "OKAY??" So she then showed me where the cavities were and said, "Any questions?... Have a good day," and she walked away. WTF? So I then went to the office manager to find out a price and I kid you people not... I almost bursted out laughing when I heard the price. She starts off with "Any questions?" I said, "Yep, how much?" "1,200.00 for 3 FILLINGS." I said, "Nope, no more questions." I want my xrays so I can take them to my local dentist. Took my xrays and off I RAN. SCAM... I even tried to pay the receptionist who also stated it's already paid for. I assumed it was because of the previous dentist not fixing the pain. 5 months later I receive a bill for $295, and the only explanation is since none of the previous employees are still there that they can't explain why we we're told that. She also stated that this is an issue with multiple people from that same office and this is why their employees are no longer employed. I went in for a simple exam and cleaning. The girl that took my x-rays was not only rude but cut my gums by jamming the x-ray pieces into my mouth hard. The dentist then told me that I had major bone loss and that my teeth were all ready to fall out. He kept wiggling them back and forth very roughly saying "You feel that?" He refused to clean my teeth. He then told me that my teeth were beyond saving, would never get solid again and that I would need to have them all pulled and get a full set of dentures.
I was only 39 At the time. I was so upset I started to cry. The dentist hightailed it out of there with a word of comfort or a backwards glance. The finance girl took over and actually asked me what my credit limit on my card was! That was such a red flag that I said I had to process the thought of losing all my teeth and I left. I went to a new dentist a few weeks later and long story a little bit shorter, now about 3 years later I still have all my own teeth, my gums are healthy and my teeth are solid... and getting better with each visit. My teeth were bad so I went here to get dentures and the bad teeth removed. I had my top dentures 2 years. And I have had nothing but problems with them. And now the teeth are falling off the plate and guess who has to pay for them. Me. And I need a reline on my bottoms and was told it would cost me 250.00 and 100 for the repair on the top. I get here and they're charging me almost 450. It seems like every time I have came here I have heard a different price for the same work needing to be done. I had a wisdom tooth that needed to be pulled and first I was told 500 so I waited until it came out the gum and then they told me 750.00 for the same tooth. I ended up going to a different dentist and paying 120.00 for the same tooth to be pulled.
I guess I'm going to have to end up going to another dentist and repay for a new set of dentures that are not made to break. Save yourselves some time and money and do some research and find a dentist who actually cares about your teeth and the quality of what's made. Not someone who wants to get as much money from you as possible.

I had neglected my teeth for a long time. I decided to do something about this, and called my insurance to find out which dentists they covered. I was told Aspen Dental, so that is where I went. On the first visit, I spoke at length with the office manager, who was quite pleasant. I told her my income was only SS, and could only make small monthly payments. She agreed to this, and I was to make $35 a month payments. On my second visit, my first with a dentist, the dentist was rude, rough and all he did was make jokes with his assistant. I asked him to be more gentle, and he ignored this. He actually gave me the numbing shot without warning me, which is unheard of.
My second visit was slightly better. But what I didn't know was that on nearly every visit, I would be seeing a NEW dentist. In other words, no continuity of care. A plan of care was made, and I needed teeth pulled and upper and lower partials made. The cost would be approx $9000. Okay, I agreed, since my insurance hadn't given me any other choices. The teeth were pulled, and after some time, casts were made of my mouth for the partials. Getting the upper partials took almost a year! And right from the start, they were quite uncomfortable and food collected underneath them whenever I ate. I was told they did fit and that it was MY fault food collected underneath. HUH? Eventually they agreed to re-make them.
The second set had exactly the same problems, and I told the latest dentist this. She poo-poo'ed me, saying it was somehow MY fault they didn't feel right. She kept saying that they did fit. The lower partials finally came and lo and behold, the same problem, but worse. Every time I talked or chewed, they fell out! When I spoke to yet another new dentist, I was told that it was somehow MY fault, because she claimed I didn't always wear them. How could I? They kept falling out! After another length of time, Aspen agreed to remake them. That took months. When they finally arrived, I was horrified to see that they had NOT filled the gap where a missing tooth used to be! When I pointed this out, I was told, again, that it was all my fault, because I hadn't worn the original partial and my teeth had moved, narrowing the gap "too much" to fill. HUH? They refused to remake them.
By now, I was totally fed up with Aspen Dental. Yet, I continued to make those monthly payments as originally agreed. The original manager quit and a new one came in. On my next visit (for cleaning) I was ushered into her office and told that if I didn't start making larger payments, they would send me through collections! I explained to her what the first manager had said. I was told that it was MY fault because I didn't get it in writing! I told her that I could not afford larger payments, and $35 a month was what they were going to get. Sure enough, they put me through collections despite a long history of regular payments.
I finally contacted my insurance company to complain. Originally, they weren't sympathetic. But after several conversations, they apparently reviewed my file and finally noticed that we had been greatly overcharged. I was told they no longer refer patients to Aspen. And gave me the name of a private dentist with a decent reputation. What I have learned from all this is that if you care about your money and your teeth, DO NOT go to a chain dentist. I liken Aspen to being the McDonald's of dentistry. Poor quality, poor standards of health, and in general bad for you. Plus you will pay entirely too much...

The dr. had already seen me prior & he acted like he didn't know me after having a 20 minute consult with the other Dr. Then they wanted to charge me an additional 3500.00 on top of the 11448.00. Because surprise all the original work was not completed. It was not put in the TREATment PLAN like it was my fault. I didn't prepare the plan the Dr.s & staff do that, I found only 3 employees who were kind & cared & the one Dr. I could trust they got rid of him.
After almost 4 months of work 15 teeth extracted, 4 times in a hotel, food & clothing costs due to their mistakes & all they wanted to refund was just the costs of the dentures & still charge me more money. Then when I asked for my refund under the no questions asked they wanted to ask me a ton of questions. I do not recommend anyone go here no matter what. They are over priced & can't do the job, they are unprofessional & lack customer skills especially the oral surgeon Dr. **. He & his staff are total **. I recently visited the Cleveland TN location with an infection and a tooth that would require an extraction. I could tell right away that I made a poor decision to visit a new dentist, rather than wait on mine to be available. I called and requested a re-fill or a different antibiotic, that would ease up the swelling and pain I had been in for 2 weeks.
They absolutely refused, and offered me a painkiller instead! I was told that the prescription I was given should have cleared up any infection I may have had and that there was no way I still had one. I pleaded with them to reconsider since I was afraid that when I came in for my appointment, they would see the infection and swelling and then refuse to do any work. I was told to go see my family dr! WHAT?? My family dr is not a dentist! I was then told by the dental assistant that I didn't have her degree and that I wasn't nearly as smart as she was.
They then canceled my appointment and told me that they couldn't have me as a patient if I didn't agree with their advice. I finally was able to reach my dentist and he immediately called me in a more powerful antibiotic and advised me that the one I had been given wouldn't have taken care of the infection. I went to the Aspen Dental in Traverse City, MI on 12/27/16 to get 4 wisdom teeth pulled. My appointment was at 4:15 pm and we (my husband was there to drive me home) arrived 20 minutes early. After about 40 minutes of waiting I learned that they were running behind with another patient. I understand, no problem, stuff happens. I am called back at approximately 5:00 pm.
Here's a brief rundown of what happened and why I am submitting this review: The surgeon didn't introduce himself, I had to ask him. I was given no "rundown" of how the procedure was going to go or what to expect. I was given the nitrous mask with no warning/explanation, poked with the IV with no warning, the drugs were injected without warning BEFORE the nitrous even took effect. A rubber block was crammed into my mouth (I have TMJ problems and told them beforehand) with no care whatsoever, and I passed out while the nurse and some other guy shot the breeze. I was wheeled out to my husband and he told me they said, "Read the paper" when he inquired about my aftercare. I didn't "come to" until we were down the road.
Day 2 post-surgery (today) I am crying in the worst pain I have ever felt (even with the meds they prescribed) and my husband gives them a call. "Oh yeah, she had 4 impactions so that will cause more pain/swelling than average... no we won't be giving her more meds for the weekend or stronger meds." There was no attempt to guide me on what to do to manage the pain. I got it to subside to a tolerable level with salt water rinses and hot compresses. I also have stitches on the lower jawbone and I have no idea if they will dissolve or if I need to go back to have them removed! All in all I felt like they were behind and just wanted to go home, at the expense of my comfort. I did not feel like a patient but rather a number at a facility whose goal is to collect payment and move people along. Please do NOT go here for any sort of oral surgery, for your own sake.

My husband (age 73) went to Aspen. He was told he needed to have extractions with partial upper and lower dentures. We were forwarded to a credit company as the cost was $5,000. We felt it was needed to be done so we agreed to this charge (which was an overcharge as we later found out). After the surgery we went home. Received a phone call from the office in Syracuse, New York from the dentist who advised me that there was bad news in that all of his upper teeth had been extracted in error, however, the good news was that there was no additional charge for "their error". The teeth were ill fitting and there were additional charges if certain things had to be done. We are on social security and, of course, finances do not allow extras. We did pay the $5,000 and requested compensation for part of the original charges.
We never received a response from Aspen, but did find out that the dentist who performed the work was no longer there. At the same time of our original visit I asked if I could get my dentures realigned as they were loose fitting. I was told I would need new dentures as mine were worn down. The inexpensive dentures that were advertised by Aspen, I was told, may not hold up more than a few months and I would need to have them fixed or replaced every few months. Decided to continue with my old dentures.
To this day, my husband cannot eat without the teeth "clicking" and when we asked Aspen about this, there of course would be additional charges to get this taken care of. All of this happened between 4-5 years ago and my husband, who has cancer as well, has had to live with the poor decision and expense we encountered by "trusting Aspen". I'm afraid I don't have our paperwork to provide any order number or a receipt. I probably could go back years and find the payments that were made to the credit company - offhand I think it was called Credit Care of something like that. I really just want people to know what they may encounter in dealing with Aspen. A totally unreliable company.

I was informed years ago that if the filing came out again that it would either have to be extracted or a root canal. I don't want a root canal being that it's painful and risky plus when I'm 80 I'll have to have dentures any ways. The dentist checked my teeth and then judged and betrayed me and tried to pressure me into getting a more expensive root canal and then I wound up getting a cost estimate for over 5 thousand dollars and I didn't get a cost estimate for the extraction that I needed so that I can return to work. I'm still in pain and I realized that Aspen dental is just wanting money from my insurance company and me. I will not be going back. I have now scheduled an emergency extraction through my local dentist.
