I broke a tooth on a late Friday afternoon. I called my regular dentist and the office was closed. I wanted treatment quickly so I called Aspen and was able to get into the office on Monday afternoon. They took approximately 20 painful x-rays. A dental hygienist did some kind of probing for bone loss and said I need to buy a special electric toothbrush from them for my gingivitis. Finally a dentist did a very brief exam, (maybe 5 mins), did not use a single instrument, and said I would need a crown to fix my broken painful tooth. He also said I have issues on the other side of my mouth and will need a root canal.

I was sent to the financial person who presented me with a $3,821 estimated treatment plan. I asked for an itemized list of these treatments, which she did reluctantly. She wanted me to schedule appointments right away and referred me to carecredit.com if I needed financial assistance. I told her that I needed to speak with my husband first. Also asked if Dr. could prescribe a mild pain medication. He said he couldn't.

Some examples from the itemized cost list: Crown - $975 (for tooth #19), Oral cancer screening- $70, Oral B electric toothbrush - $129, Gingival Irrigation - $64, Antimicrobial rinse - $26, Prophylaxis 2 times - $82 each time, Floride - $36, Antimicrobial gel - $26, Root canal, crown, etc for tooth # 29 $1103. I was able to get into my regular dentist on Thursday and he fixed my tooth for $120!!! I saved myself 3 $3701. I do not Aspen to contact me since I not out any time, pain or money. The office I visited was in Kokomo, IN.

10 minutes after sitting down in the chair for a cleaning prep the dentist proclaimed he would have to pull all my teeth and fit me for dentures for $4000 - or - they could treat my gums/teeth for $3000. Financing was available. I had the treatment with the "golden liquid" and signed on for interest free financing. Both decisions were wrong. My teeth are fine and the finance company has been difficult to communicate with.

Aspen dental in Taylor Michigan saved my teeth and gave me my beautiful smile back. I have no dental insurance and they did everything they could and more to get me in and put me on a payment plan. In a short time I got 6 fillings, two crowns, three extractions, an upper partial dentures so I didn't have three missing teeth. I ended up having gingivitis so I left with an awesome oral-b electric toothbrush and special mouthwash which cleared it up and now have healthy white teeth. Love aspen dental. I highly recommend.

I called to make an appointment and complaining about a tooth. I go in and all they did was talk to me for 2 hrs. After looking at my tooth for a min. told me I would need a root canal done and to schedule another appointment as I was in pain and sent me home. I was very upset because I went there for them to solve the problem and to take my pain away as they did not! Then I went back in another time because that same tooth has now cracked and half of my tooth has fallen out! I call to make an appointment asking if they could fix it. They told me they could squeeze me in, so I went.

As I'm there they once again look at my tooth for a min and told me to schedule ANOTHER appointment for them to fix it! I have half of my tooth in my hand and they were going to send me home! They don't solve the problem right away. They drag it out so it cost more money to patient and inconvenience! I shouldn't have to keep leaving work to make appointment after appointment and go home in pain or discomfort! They do NOT put the patient first. They're only worried about charging per appointment so they make money apparently.

I have never been so upset at a business. How could they send me home in pain and discomfort twice as a new patient?! Half my tooth wouldn't have fallen out if they would have just fixed it the first time! So I left my second appointment very upset and made it known. I told them how ridiculous it was that they were sending me home with half of my tooth in my hand and told them I will take my business somewhere that will get the job done the first time!

Had a tooth extraction. The first time I ever had a extraction that hurt as bad as it did when pulled. I don't think it was deaden enough. It has been about two weeks and my gum still feel swollen. Went back same week and had two fillings, wasn't that bad but I had to go back because it was not feeling right. Still not feeling right but feel a little better. Keep feeling like something is in between one of my teeth and want come out. Will not be going to that dentist again and wouldn't recommend anyone to them. Going to have to find another dentist to look at mouth.

I had a appt. with the Aspen Dental in Sevierville, Tn across from Walmart on June 29th 2015 at 3:15 p.m. When I went in and signed in the front desk girl said she couldn't find me in the computer and I didn't have an appt. This has been put off prior from this Aspen Dental due to being too busy I was told 3 weeks ago. Still don't have my tooth out yet and is starting to bother me. I asked to talk to a manager and the same girl at the front told me she was in a meeting. But called a man back to talk to get right after I ask to talk to her. This place is awful! Just wanted to give anyone looking for dental work fair warning. Good Luck! And try to stay away from this location!

I went to Aspen to get a tooth fixed... either extracted or root canal depending on price (we don't have insurance). My mouth was swollen but they had to do x-rays. That took a while and was very painful. Then they brought me into the exam room and left me there for 20 minutes only for the dentist to come back and say she couldn't do anything for me. She sent a referral to another dentist but for a root canal, I wanted the tooth out.

After another day of pain and swelling, my face is so swollen I can't barely talk or drink through a straw. When we found out where the referral went to my husband called them back and asked them to send it to the correct place. Aspen Dental said that I wanted to keep the tooth. Now I have to wait 4 more days to get it taken care of. I haven't eaten in 3 days and I don't think I'll be able to drink through a straw for much longer. My gums are so swollen that you can barely see my back teeth. So Do Not Go!

I called office 8 am Friday (procedure day before) requesting I come to have tech smooth out spots so my mouth doesn't get cut up! The phone answer girl said "No guarantee. You can wait and at 1 pm middle of the day and no guarantee. This procedure should come with a app for next day." ALWAYS these need adjustment! I used to go to Gentle Dental, but talking to friends and personal experience, I realized it was only a money maker, telling everybody that they needed crowns; even when they didn't. I went to a trustful dentist so he could tell me what exactly I needed, but because of my insurance, I couldn't be taken care of. I brought my x-rays to Aspen, and told them exactly what I needed to have done. I was very clear when I made the appointment.

When I got there, they told me I had to have a panoramic view x-rays. I told them I already had x-rays, and they showed what I needed to have done, but they would not stop asking until I had that panoramic view done. When I saw the dentist, she evaluated me, and told me what I already explained to the Medical assistant in that office. She told me to make an appointment to have that tooth taking care of. I told her that the only reason I went there, was to have that filling done. She said she couldn't, that she had to make an appointment.

I had to pay 40 dollars for my co-payment for no reason. I took a few hours from work so I could have that problem taken care of; and for the cherry on top, I received a bill of 50 dollars, because I had the panoramic view x-rays done which I told them I didn't want to have in the first place, since I brought my x-rays, and they showed the problem. Of course, I spoke to someone in billing, and they cannot do anything for my bill. This place is horrible, and no different than Gentle Dental.

Why would anyone go back to that place? Even their corporate office is rude and not helpful at all. Find another dental office. They lack sufficient equipment, drill heads, and dentists, all quit but one on one week. They were bringing dentist from other areas. Do not understand Standards of Care. Try to get you to sign a contract on every visit, to sign up for more work before they finish the work that you already contracted with. Just tell them you are not signing another contract until the work already on contract done to your satisfaction. They get paid as soon as the contract is signed so they are more than zealous in getting contracts in front of you as quick as possible.

The bank pays them upfront and if you are dissatisfied plan to wait a while, a couple months to see a credit on your account. Found a dentist whose office is small, one dentist with staff who give personalized attention. Very concerned with your satisfaction. Chairs have armrests and rollers in the back for a message. Comenity Bank is a nightmare to follow their billing if Aspen is successful in getting you to sign more than one contract.

They are all separate, but one payment, and an accounting nightmare for the patient. One day late payment is reported to the credit reporting companies. And late payment fee for a $25 payment is $35. Unfair billing practices, but they insist it is all in the long contract. You can do better for sure. Oh and the dentist at Aspen who consulted with me about the post needed for a crown lied to me or else did not know standards of practice. Another dentist indicated this operation is not concerned that crowns stay because they specialize in dentures. I believe it.

I suggested to my mother to go to Aspen Dental Clinic in Macon Georgia because I saw their commercial. Then I read their reviews and told her that Aspen had bad reviews she may want to go to another office. Well she went anyway to get an exam. So I called her after her appointment and she said "well they didn't do the exam because my blood pressure was elevated." And I am in the dental field myself and I was like an exam is just looking into the mouth, checking the teeth and gums, nothing to it. It's not like they were about to do surgery.

So I called the office manager, spoke with ** which didn't go so well because he was trying to lie about the blood pressure. And saying that it's the doctor discretion to see the patient which is true but I believe because it is Friday the doctor was just being lazy and she shouldn't be able to get away with crap like this. It was only an exam! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TREAT PATIENTS STAY AT HOME AND PLEASE GET RID OF THE LYING COMMERCIALS!

First real visit to Aspen for a tooth extraction. My observations: No frills. Uncomfortable dental care with NO armrests to speak of and very little headrest.. No one asked me if I was comfortable or not EVER (I was not). None of the staff was comforting or social in any particular way. They were work-like and expediently driven. Very business-like and worried about quick in and out. A very short time in numbing the tooth to be removed. Time in the chair was after 1:05 and out by 1:20. Massively impersonal as if I were an oil change on an old car. Uncomfortable as hell. They did the job, but no frills work without concern for patient care or comfort.... PERIOD.

I made an appointment online for the Hixson,TN location because of the tremendous pain I was having with my wisdom tooth. I developed an infection that due to my wisdom tooth growing in. So I made an appointment with Aspen because I don't have insurance and don't have the money for insurance right now. I simply just wanted to make sure everything was ok in my mouth seeing that I had not been to the dentist in 10 years. I am a 26 year old health nut who doesn't drink soda and flosses and brushes daily so I didn't expect them to see much but the wisdom tooth situation. Boy was I wrong.

The hygienist tried selling me on a 40 dollar mouth cancer screening which I totally don't need. Then she poked the crap out of my gums calling out numbers till I looked like I just got punched in the mouth. She asked if I wanted to rinse... ummm YEAH! I don't like swallowing a mouth full of blood. It shouldn't even be a question. Anyways, she purposely talked so fast about an expensive toothbrush and said I was in early stages of gingivitis. I was SHOCKED! She talked so fast like she was reading cue cards on what to say. Like she's said it a million times over and over..

I apparently needed a 2 day procedure in which I would need a local anesthetic and so on and so forth, something about cleaning my gums and having a 150 dollar toothbrush. I was so dumbfounded by the information I was hearing, I asked nicely what has caused the bacteria to form under my gums. She without hesitant and a little attitude "Not flossing" and smirks and goes back to her paperwork. Like I was the bad guy, I said "That's funny. I do floss daily".

Then the dentist arrives which he was very nice. He informs me that I have 1 small cavity and my wisdom teeth are coming in and pushing my other teeth which caused the infection and that I needed them out immediately. I said "They don't all hurt and I don't feel the other wisdom teeth". But oh well he gave me a prescription for the infection and he left. I then proceeded to wait in the chair for oh 30 or so minutes before the financial advisor came in and took me back to his office where he printed off the wrap sheet of all the work I needed. I may be young but I sure as hell am not dumb.

My total cost of work I needed came out to be $7,000! Get out of town! I almost fell out of the chair. He kept pushing the credit card but I insisted I must do my own research on insurance before jumping in to that mess. Never Again. I will obviously be getting a 2nd opinion elsewhere and some insurance ASAP. Also coming home I looked over the receipt of the things they were going to charge me for and that damn fancy toothbrush and a whole list of BS was on there.

I called to make a first time appointment at a brand new office in Bridgeton, Missouri. They asked if my dental issue was causing me pain which I said yes to. Told them I had recently broken a tooth and was experiencing sensitivity to cold food and liquids. They said next available appointment was in 12 days. I agreed and they confirmed appointment time and day. Almost 2 hours later I received a phone call from a 1-800 # I did not recognize so let it go to voice mail. When I listed to message it was from Aspen saying they could not keep appointment time. They had just given me less than 2 hours earlier and I would have to call back to reschedule. I quickly did so.

They were non-apologetic about their mistake or making me call back to reschedule and told me earliest they could see me was in 73 days. Said there was no other options to be seen sooner. They were rude, unhelpful and incompetent on the phone. Will never use them and tell everyone I know not to. I then happened to call another local dentist who gave me an appointment the next day (72 days earlier than Aspen offered) even after calling late afternoon after being jerked around by Aspen. I found a more helpful, caring dentist that will provide cleaning, x-rays and exam for $35; a dental office that actually wants to have and keep new patients and won't make me wait 73 days to get seen and some relief.

They set me up with a loan company and said I could pay $75.00 a month for two years. When I got the statement from the loan company they set me up with, they said if I made the minimum payment of $75.00 it would take me four years to pay it off. This would be about double of what I owed making my bill about $8,000. In my opinion, Aspen Dental is a Rip Off.

I had been fitted for dentures 4 years ago. Before meeting with the dentist, I had decided, due to our financial situation, on a middle of the road financing, which included a middle of the road denture with a middle-of-the road warranty/guarantee. My dentures came in, were beautiful and, as is usual with all new dentures, needed fine-tuning to get the right fit. I went back for adjustments, so many times over the next 3 years that I've lost count. Most of the problem was pain when I bit down. The dentist ground down the problem areas for comfort. I couldn't actually know if it helped with chewing until I ate something later.

My overall goal was for my molars to finally meet together and enable me to chew things like lettuce, nuts, and steak, etc. this never happened. I still haven't been able to eat anything that requires the normal grinding action that molars provide. After almost 4 years, I again returned to tell them this and a new dentist went over my chart and informed me that my jaw "obviously " shifted and there was nothing they could do about it. He told me to seriously consider dental implants because I didn't have enough bone structure to actually hold regular dentures. I was NOT told this in the beginning.

The rest of this might not be necessary to tell you but MIGHT have something to do with my experience there: On the first visit, the dentist met with me and went over the procedure, and then my choice of color. I wanted the whitest color available in my cost range. For some reason, the dentist asked me which one I would pick if I had no cost limit. We talked about how unnatural the whitest white would look, but, if I had no limits in cost, I would still pick the whitest. However, I reiterated that I could not afford the whitest, which were also in the highest cost and lifetime guarantee range, in other words the best dentures they offer. The dentist understood my financial situation yet told me not to worry about cost and wrote up the order for the highest end denture, in the color I WOULD have picked if I could afford them.

I then went on to the financing department where the manager had to go back to explain to the dentist that the order she had written up was not in my price range. She assured them that this was the type she wanted ordered but for the price I had originally planned. They reluctantly wrote up my financial arrangement for the middle-of-the-road cost dentures, while ordering the high-end best dentures. In the end, I was billed for the lower cost dentures but received the best (and whitest) dentures they have. This was awesome to me. I am currently working on obtaining my receipts from my archived files. Can I submit them after sending you this complaint? I truly believe they have not lived up to their warranty. I don't know, however, if I have enough of a case to win a lawsuit against them. Can you advise me on that?

Had a plate for four years and no matter how much it was adjusted, I could not wear it. Got the best one in the hopes it would be worth the price. I paid over $1800 for this. From the very first it would not stay in when I ate no matter how much adhesive I used. It was cut down, re-molded, and literally messed up, so in the end I could not wear it without making sores in my mouth. I was told I could have another plate made, but when I called to see if this option was still available, I would have to go to the original office over 250 miles away. It was suggested I could get a refund, but again I had to go to this office. I refused because I felt it could be done closer to where I now live.

The representative I spoke with was rather sharp with me but he told me if I came to the Green River Road, Evansville, Indiana office I could get the refund there, but it would be over two weeks before he could see me about this. I went there today and it was a whole different story. For one, I would only receive half of the amount I was promised earlier on the phone and I would have to wait until the other office approved the refund or else I could go the 250 miles and collect it. The representative there talked so fast that I was not sure if he even knew what he was saying. I had to leave the plate there in order for me to get the refund. I know that I will not see any money whatsoever, but oh well the plate has been sitting in my medicine cabinet for almost the entire time I have had. My advice like all the others, save the money and go to a local dentist.

She was laughing and said "you need to call the and tell them to take that off your bill because it was rinsing your mouth out." So after talking to Aspen many times for them to correct my bill, I have decided to blow this pop stand. I just had to file a 2nd complaint with the insurance company and let me tell you the insurance company are NOT happy with Aspen Dental. How many people have just paid the bill without questioning charges? I'm still waiting for a refund because they tried to charge my husband for 2 perm. partials instead of one temp and one perm. This past November I had a tooth that started hurting. It wasn't a horrific pain but I had lost a piece of the tooth about a year prior and knew I had to have it taken care of. I went to Aspen pretty much just because they had evening and Saturday hours. What a mistake. First off, I have a very tiny mouth. They literally have to use children's xray pieces in order to fit them in my mouth. After I don't know how many times of trying to cram full size pieces into my mouth they finally decided to try the smaller stuff. This happened every time someone took x-rays. I admit I haven't been to the dentist in probably close to ten years. After an exam I was told I needed a root canal on the tooth that was bothering me, a crown on another top tooth, five fillings, a cleaning and a treatment for infection in my gums. Keep in mind, I went in there with one tooth bothering me. The total price tag for all this? $4800.

Now, I'm not rich. I don't have dental insurance. Oh, but they have financing. Well, my husband already had a Care Credit card. They would not increase his limit. So we applied for, and got, another line of credit that would only pay for half the work. We were told that if we picked the payment plan that we picked there would be no interest as long as we always paid on time. What they didn't inform us of was that it had to be paid in full within like a year and a half. That would amount to $400 per month which we cannot afford so... if we pay the minimum payment it will take 13 years and cost almost $7000 for the $2800 that we borrowed. The rest, I had to get in a loan from my employer. So... I was told that all this work would be done before Thanksgiving. (That was about two weeks.)

I've never seen so many appointments in my life. A financing appointment. An appointment for just part of the cleaning, then a second appointment to finish it. I had my root canal. During the procedure a tool that was very hot was used. I'm not sure what that was. However, after I got home and the numbness started wearing off my lip starting hurting something awful. I looked in the mirror... The dentist had burnt the living heck out of my lip. I had a big blister that took over a week to heal. Then, I went back to have my fillings done. The dentist would do one filling and then leave me sit there to go see another patient. This went on through all five fillings.

And then when I realized that he wasn't filling a tooth that I knew needs to be. I asked about it and the original dentist had not even documented it. It was a cavity that shouldn't have been missed. It was quite visible. They said either I could wait an hour for everyone to come back from lunch and have it done then or I could schedule it for another time. Needless to say I didn't stay. So, up to six fillings that I had done. I had no less than eight appointments to get this work done. The fillings that I had done are not smooth. They are very sloppy and rough. And over the last week the tooth I had the root canal has started hurting. In fact, since I had the work done I have teeth hurting that never bothered me before. They are all the teeth that I had work done on.

In November of 2014, I got my teeth pulled and was recommended by the Dr. to get comfy fit dentures. The temporary has never fit right and had to go back for several adjustments and liners. The Dr. was not at all sympathetic in how they fit and said when I get my permanent dentures in 6 months, I would be happy. The last appointment I had, I went in to get my wax mold done and was sent home with no teeth because the technician was late. I had to come back several hours later. Today I went back and the bottom teeth did not fit right so the Dr. said the technician is running late and I needed to come back later. I told him no, I had an appointment and they should have called me and I would wait for her.. He got mad and called me a ** and I needed to quit ** and keep my voice down.

I was upset and crying and he finally came and tried to help when another technician was there. I'm so afraid the next time I go, my teeth will not fit and he will do the same thing... I really want to change dentist but I don't want to start over... It will be another week and if they don't fit, it's start all over again.. I'm so frustrated and just don't know what to do...

1st visit was very good, everyone was polite and courteous. The exam, the consultation plan was very encouraging. I was Gun Ho!! Then the cost made me hesitant, but the accountant made some adjustments so that I could begin my treatment and pay a lower fee. All in all, what we discussed and my results are totally different !! Still have old silver fillings, the one that she supposedly repaired that part has fallen out, the tooth next to the one she pulled is now loose and still tender all in all my mouth is worse. My answer to this is if she had replaced my old fillings with the white caps it would have used up all my loan and Insurance money .

But throwing away my money is OK!!! So here I sit not able to smile to ashamed and reluctant to be seen. I am very upset! And disappointed ! Too angry to even go back to Aspen Dental. I really feel that they made a joke out of my consultation. It was a waste of time just a lack of communication. When the accountant made his adjustments did he delete some of my services just so that they could get the work started and get paid. Yet to speak with them is really Hard. They have great smiles, something that they promised to give me. Now I'm right back at square one. What other Dentist can I Trust ? What other commercial can I believe? How much more of life should I miss out on because of the appearance of my mouth.

I had an aggressive periodontal gum disease which was causing my gums to recede so badly that my teeth were movable. I knew the inevitable was to get dentures and I did extensive research online. I was drawn to Aspen Dental because of the wide selection of dentures they offered, more particularly, the comfy lytes. I was excited by the fact that they offered this superior denture (stain, impact, discoloration resistant) that was supposed to be colored and look like natural teeth. When I went they were fantastically nice, but like many others have mentioned on here, they zoomed through my evaluation and shuttled me into the financing manager. I left there that day with a 1500 loan, and owing another 4,500 after my insurance. So I go into debt to get my surgery and what I am expecting to be, stellar and beautifully natural looking teeth. Casts for temp teeth were done. and in prep for surgery, I get 2 Halcion pills.

I am to take one on my way and the other when I get there. That, my friends, is all the anesthetic you get for the removal of 30+ teeth. Lucky for me, I don't remember anything for 2 days, my friend, on the other hand, was not so lucky. Healing time sucked and they do give you a liner for your temporary teeth one your gums heal. I warn you though, the liner will never lose the chemical taste. I am sitting here after 2 years wearing the bottoms of my temp set after my comfy lyte broke in half and I am still choking on the chemical taste. I skip ahead and I now have my permanent set. I chose the best set they had to offer, the comfy lytes.

My first warning is that the model they show is much much nicer than the actual set that wound up in my mouth. The ones I wound up with are oddly similar to the temp set I had expect for the teeth color. Very similar. At the fitting, I discussed that there were things I did not like about them. The teeth on my left side are angled upwards which makes an odd effect when smiling. They fit uncomfortably in several places (even 2 years later I still find myself uncomfortable). They rock up and down when chewing, I chew on one side the denture on the other side pulls down in a painful way scraping my gum. Same for the other. They assured me that all suggestions would be included in the final set, When I get the final set none of my suggestions were done. The teeth still angles upward, they still rocked. I did not really notice much until later because I was sure I'd just need to get used to them.

After several adjustments I was told the rocking was just a natural thing for teeth and the upwards teeth was just a perception. Well I'm still sitting here with uncomfortable dentures and now my bottom set completely broke in half today while eating a pop tart. No previous indications that there was cracking until I ran my tongue over them this morning and felt the crack. Then they broke. For the quality they promised and the resistance they promised, I am disappointed. I would have settled for a basic pair as they seem much more durable than the comfy lytes. I am making an appointment to have them fixed as I am supposed to have a 7yr warranty. I was also supposed to have yearly cleaning but that still have yet to happen.

Cleanings have always been free with my insurance for any other dentist I've ever gone to. Now the only dentist my insurance will cover is Aspen Dental. I was surprised to learn that cleanings are not free because the dentist uses a "more thorough" process. They gave me a mouth rinse to be used after each brushing in the morning. My tongue has turned brown, even black in some spots. I've tried calling the Aspen office during their regular business hours (I checked) to ask if this has happened to other people. They don't answer the phone and my messages, asking for a return call, have been ignored.

Made an appointment for a toothache and I knew the tooth needed extracted. First off I'm taken in by the xray person for a full mouth xrays. These took forever, was painful and have never had so many xrays anywhere ever. Had to have the person stop once because it was cutting into my mouth. Finally after all of this a dentist came in and asked me why I was there and which tooth had the pain. I showed him and he immediately started talking about a bottom denture. Told him I knew I needed a lower denture and he said he would give me a price if I wanted. I told him ok.

Never once did he address the issue of the tooth I came in for. He just started telling his assistant which teeth were simple extractions and which were surgery. I asked him what about this one tooth in the mean time. He told me to take pain medicine and antibiotic. He then wrote a script for 800mg Motrin and a script for penicillin that was for an upper tooth. I was speechless but by this time I was so annoyed and I knew he wasn't about to touch my mouth period!!

In the mean time the office manager is writing up a complete plan for everything needed including the bottom denture. This took forever and I was more and more annoyed and anxious. Then in comes the hygienist and showing my xrays talking about a deep scale cleaning for upper teeth, a special tooth brush, mouth rinse, and prescription tooth paste... all of these were extras they could charge for. Told them the office manager better get back there because I'm going home and she (the hygienist) is not going to touch my mouth today. Finally the office manager takes me to her office and discusses different price dentures etc. Anyway it ended was being almost $5000. Said I could apply for their credit in their office or online at a couple of other places.

When you have a dental plan and are approved the dental office, especially thru Care Credit is paid up front. You cannot do a pay as you go on this credit. Told her no credit app in office. Mentioned to her my tooth that I came in for was not taken care of. She then said "Oh the Dr. can do that now if you want." I told her "NO I'm going home." These corporate dental companies many employees including the office manager receive bonuses for the thousands they can sign you up for. Never will I ever go to Aspen Dental again or set foot in there. STAY AWAY and go to your local dentist. They are not even professional.

I went for my very first appt at Aspen Dental last week. After the initial paperwork I was given xrays. I don't remember ever having so many xrays at a dentists office in the past but figured it had been so long since I had any that maybe things have changed. After that I was taken to another room where a hygienist took a look and informed me that I needed a 2 part deep cleaning under the gum line. The Dr then came in and examined my mouth, looked at the xrays, etc. He told me I would need a couple crowns, a bridge, and a partial which I could believe because I'm ashamed to say, haven't been to a dentist in 20 years and at age 63 have two broken teeth and a couple missing. I felt rushed and he vaguely answered the few questions that I could think of at the moment.

He then quickly passed me on to the lady in charge of finances. This part of the visit took up more time than anything else. She is the one who attempted to explain in detail what I would need to have done. And then came the bottom line of $8500-$9000. We decided that I would apply for one $3000 loan at a time until all the work had been done. I was also strongly urged to purchase their electric toothbrush system at an extra cost of somewhere around $150 I believe.

When I asked her how these crowns were going to blend in with my existing teeth, she said "Oh, if you want your teeth to be the same color you will have to have a professional bleaching at $300 in the office or a ten day home kit at $150. and do this before we do any of the other work". This is what caused me to have second thoughts. As it was, I had been feeling like I was being rushed thru this whole process and they were leaving out all the little details unless I thought to ask about them.

After about 30 minutes talking about loans, etc the finance lady had to leave the office for a few minutes to attend to something else just before we were to begin to apply for credit. She was gone for so long that I realized how long I had been there and had to leave for another errand so I told her I would be back to finish up our visit and left. I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling I had about this whole experience so decided to take a look online for reviews and thankfully I found this site. I have decided to go with my initial gut feeling and see another dentist.

To be fair, everyone was pleasant and personable except for maybe the Dr who seemed to be in a rush to get back to the patient next to me. And by the way, two days after my appt I received a call from someone with an Indian accent telling me that my loan for $3000 had been approved (which I declined). We hadn't gotten to the request for credit yet but it sounds like she went ahead and submitted one anyway after I left the office.

In November 2014 I had a tooth extracted and got fitted for a partial (in the Route 50 Saratoga, NY, office). I dealt mainly with **, whose title I don't know but she was some sort of finance manager, and she was really good. She showed me a number of options, including several types of partials, and the packages this entailed. I know buying the temporary partial meant I could buy the permanent one after my mouth healed.

I returned one single time for an adjustment (either in November or December) because the partial was hurting my mouth pinching my cheek and tongue. This was adjusted for me. It was a slight improvement, but the thing never fit right. I spent more than five months with a lisp and whistling while I talked. When I smile all you see is wires. I despise this thing and how poorly it fits. Dr. ** adjusted it last week, and it fits better, but I doubt it will ever fit right.

Imagine my surprise when I went to the office last week (4/22) and **, the technician (?) seemed shocked when I told her I'd never been in for more than that one adjustment. She said, "But the wound and gums heal, bone shifts. You were supposed to come in every four or five weeks for an adjustment." Imagine my shock and utter disgust when I discovered not one single person bothered to mention this to me, despite several trips to the office (for the procedure, for removal of stitches, for that one adjustment). They had numerous opportunities to share this rather valuable information with me. Instead I lived through months and months of this ridiculous, ill-fitting thing. To say I'm livid is an understatement. Dr. ** was just as surprised as ** and just shook his head.

Last week I got a letter suggesting I was properly healed and that I should come in for the fitting of my permanent partial. I called ** on Monday (4/20), and she scheduled me for a 2:30 appt. Perfect, because I have doctors appointments and it's tough to work around them. On Tuesday 4/22 I got a two separate emails confirming my 3:30 appointment. I called the office to straighten it out. The girl who answered was about as unhelpful as could be and tried to get ** on the phone with me. What for? I asked. So ** can confirm the wrong time with me? I'm not sure what this girl expected ** to do. **, who had screwed up the appointment in the first place. I said to this girl, "Either you have a 2:30 open tomorrow or you don't." Talking to ** isn't going to fix her mistake. But instead of an apology or suggestions to fix this, there was silence. So I said goodbye and hung up.

I saw Dr. ** on 4/22 (at 3:30). I'm still not sure why this office is so dead against flippers, which is what I asked for. Instead, I feel I was upcharged to buy an $1800 permanent partial, which I couldn't stand. (I couldn't stand the temporary one, and nothing led me to believe this was going to be much better). I could barely speak with the partial, could never eat with it, and hated the way it felt. (Perhaps if it had been properly adjusted all these months I would feel differently, but I want nothing to do with partials.) But I was told the flipper is too fragile, has wires sticking out of it (another complaint I have about the partial every time I smile, all you see is wires), and wasn't cost-effective. (They break often, I was told.)

(As an aside I saw my mother later that day and asked to see her flipper. Hers has no wires sticking out of it and looks like it's surrounded by natural gums. She told me she's had it for years and years. She's very careful with it, but she has no complaints! And hers certainly isn't fragile, and knock wood, she's never had to replace it.)

After the appt. I went upfront to check out and met with some young girl (no ID or name tag, and she never identified herself, though it turned out to be **) who presented me with a piece of paper that confused the heck out of me: Accepted treatment plan estimate: $1848.00 Coupon/discounts: $ 369.60 Estimated patient portion: $1478.40. So this apparently included three fillings and a deep cleaning. She tells me it included a discount, but she never said what that was. Instead of a large chart (like ** had used in November) detailing the types of partials (and prices!), I'm shown three physical sets of teeth, two of which look exactly the same (yet there's a significant difference in cost). I have no clue what I was shown. I had/have no clue what anything costs.

(Also, in November I used CareCredit to pay for my treatment. This is my mother's account, but she signed for it. Just the other day I was again looking at the signature page in my chart. I handed ** the CareCredit card and she refused to accept it. She told me to call my mother to get me added as a signer on the account. I told her I had no interest in doing that. So she decided to call my mother [I'm forty-nine years old, by the way, not some child] with me sitting there. Instead of clarifying that I'm authorized to use this card, she asked my mother [a retiree in her seventies] to come in the next day to sign an agreement you know, identical to the signed one in my chart! Then she added, "Or you can call CareCredit and make ** an authorized signer."

Neither my mother nor I had any desire for me to do this, and she had real nerve even suggesting it. Rather than even attempt to use or run the card to see if the charge might be authorized, she took it upon herself to decline me from even trying to use it. I walked out of there without another appointment because she refused to make one for me.) Later that evening I decided to leave a message for **, hoping she could straighten this out. The message was pleasant and in no way blamed **, despite the fact that this was 100% her fault and I was quite angry with her. She also made me feel rather stupid. In the message I left I asked ** to please get back to me so we could straighten this out.

The next day I had a voice mail from **. ** was not only the one I had met with, she was the one who'd managed to screw up my appointment. I listened to the message and was shocked first by the lack of apology and then by the lack of care or compassion. First she informed me ** no longer worked there. Then she spent the entire voice mail message defending herself (I kept it in case you'd like to hear it), telling me she handled everything correctly, adding "Your mom would spend literally two seconds calling CareCredit to straighten this out." First, someone PLEASE explain to ** what literally means. But much, much more importantly, please explain proper customer service.

The last thing I wanted was yet another lecture on Aspen Dental's office politics, or why ** was oh-so-right about everything and I apparently was dead wrong. I didn't want a message where she barely discussed anything I brought up but instead defended her actions. Her self-indulgent attitude and lack of professionalism are disgusting. She lastly suggested I contact the office manager, which is where this letter was originally headed, but I really don't want more of the same nonsense. I don't want to deal with the people who work with ** everyday, who likely trained her. I only want to deal with professionals who aren't defensive, who give a damn about their patients, and who know what they're doing. ** is none of the above.

Which is why I'm returning to my former dentist. He's a bit of a drive to get to, but he's a wonderful dentist and his office staff are top-notch. I'm pretty sure they would rather crawl into a hole than subject a patient to the treatment ** subjected me to. I'm sending this rather long letter in the hopes that perhaps some other patient can avoid experiencing what I went through, from improper (or lack of) instructions to confusing treatment plans to office staff talking me out of what I really want (flipper) because the work, as they expressed it, would be substandard. Huh. Well, thanks but no thanks for the substandard junk.

Then she informed me that I had to either pay the whole thing or apply for credit before they could proceed. I came in for a filling and a cleaning not gum treatments and products! I asked about the products and she pointed to a toothbrush and informed me of fluoride toothpaste and wash. I said I already have a toothbrush so she knocked off $126. I decided not to make a 2nd appointment because of the lack of information from the finance person and the lack of patient advocacy. Apparently my insurance covers silver fillings but not white ones but no one explained that to me in their office. I was on the phone with the insurance company trying to make sense of my bill since I only got a piece of paper from finance. I urge anyone who is reading this to not go to Aspen Dental. They don't look out for their patients - they only look out for themselves and how much they can sell you. I had received an email that I needed to fill out paperwork so I went about 25 minutes early for my appointment. They didn't call me back until 10:30 am. I was advised at that time they were running a little behind. The hygienist was training a new girl and it was her first day.

They proceeded to begin my exam, stopped in the proceedings to visit another patient. Came back 10 to 15 minutes later and started once again with cleaning my teeth. Worked a few minutes, then left to work on yet another patient. I was asked this time if I wanted to sit up for a while? I answered, "No." I didn't realize I would be there so long for a simple cleaning. When the hygienist and the trainee came back to my room, the trainee rushed and did a half-way job of putting polish on my teeth and they both kept apologizing for the length of time it had taken. I never saw a dentist at all.

They had me to pre-pay $105.00 for all the inconvenience that I had experienced. If I had not have prepaid I would have questioned that amount for the lack of service that I received. I don't plan on going back. I will discourage others from going if asked. My time is valuable as anyone else's. I spent 2 1/2 hours and don't feel my teeth were cleaned to my satisfaction. Went to Aspen Dental in Murfreesboro for a routine dental cleaning. I have been going to the dentist every six months for most of my life and have never had any significant dental or gum problems. I showed up on time for my appointment and was made to wait almost 20 minutes even though I had all my paperwork filled out ahead of time.

A young lady took me back for x-rays and that is where the trouble started. She put these very hard plastic things in my mouth that were very painful and when I told her they were poking me in the gums she just laughed and said "I know, sorry, people hate these things!" After that torture was over I was taken to an exam room where a hygienist proceeded to come in and do some sort of exam where she was poking around my gums and calling out numbers. When she was done she told me I had A LOT of bleeding and gave me a mirror to look at my teeth. I saw NO bleeding, only redness where she had been poking me with the metal instrument. She then proceeded to tell me that I needed a "deep cleaning".

The dentist came in and looked at my x-rays and told me there was no decay but that I would need to go through the gingivitis protocol. They then gave me a piece of paper that outlined a procedure they do to screen for mouth cancer. I signed the paper to indicate that I had read it but never expressed an interest in having this procedure done and even asked if signing the paper was saying I wanted the treatment. I was told no, that it just was for informational purposes and that by signing it I was indicating I had been told about it. The hygienist then told me that the deep cleaning would be done over two visits, the first visit would be the deep cleaning and the second visit would be a follow-up.

She then took me to the business office where they told me that after my insurance paid, I would owe them $384 for the deep cleaning and I had to pay it right then. I had just switched dental insurance so I thought maybe my coverage wasn't as good as it used to be so I paid them in advance for the cleaning. When I got home, I looked at the detailed receipt they gave me and the actual deep cleaning was only $64. The rest of the charges were $129 for a toothbrush, $27 for some paste that I have never used, $39 for a rinse that I used for a week and then they told me to stop using it or it would stain my teeth, $27 for fluoride toothpaste and $70 for the mouth cancer screening!!!!!

When I went in for the first appointment I told the hygienist that I did not want the mouth cancer screening and that I did not appreciate being charged for it. She said "okay, we can take it off and you will just have a $70 credit". I told her I did not want a credit, that I wanted to be refunded. She called the business office person in who got a real attitude with me because she had to give me a refund and proceeded to snap and me and walk out of the room. She returned with a receipt showing my refund and flung it towards my purse and left again.

I returned for the follow-up appointment and was told that the hygienist would be on maternity leave when I needed to come back in six months so my next appointment won't be for eight months. Oh so they can charge me for another "deep cleaning" since I hadn't been in for so long? No thank you, I do not plan to EVER return to that place. Also, for the record, my husband went in as well and they gave him the same song and dance about the deep cleaning and gingivitis.

He said no thank you to the whole thing and went back to our old dentist who told him that there was absolutely no infection in his mouth and that a deep cleaning was totally unnecessary. I feel like I was ripped off and fed a line of bull. Now I am finding out from a couple of people who used to work for Aspen Dental that they are all about the bottom line, getting as much money out of people as possible and doing a lot of unnecessary work. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Lebanon Tn office. Should have read reviews before stepping in the door. An upset patient at the counter asking for his records and the most disgusting restroom I have ever seen, also should have been red flags. Went in because I chipped a tooth over the weekend and wasn't too happy with previous dentist. They did 18 X-rays first. Hygienist then jammed instrument deep into my gums and claimed I had a lot of bone loss. News to me. She did not want to discuss the reason I was there. Instead she pushed for all kinds of other treatment and screening and even admonished me for not getting my cat's teeth cleaned every 6 months. WHAT?!!!

Finally saw dentist. Only After I told her I was only there for the chipped tooth she examined it. She could not tell if it was cracked so wanted to schedule me with the endodontist. Then office mgr takes me into office and tells me it will cost $2300 and I had to pay half before she could schedule the appt. How can they quote a price when the dentist did not know if the tooth was cracked or what treatment would be needed???? Needless to say I asked for my X-rays and am getting a second opinion. There is definitely a problem here. Have read many reviews stating the same experience at different locations so this is obviously a company wide issue. Apparently their business plans focus on getting as much $$$ out of you as possible, not on treatment. Based on the multitude of complaints how does the BBB give them an A- rating? If anyone else had problem in Lebanon TN office I think we should get together and get news media involved. This place should not be doing business.

He kept doing it and telling me, "I pull teeth everyday." I suppose he thought I could not feel the pain because of the Novocain. And his assistance was quiet throughout the entire ordeal I suppose because she needed her job. Now my mouth is crooked from all of the damage that dentist caused. I kept complaining about the pain and guess what? They dismissed me as a patient with more work to be done. I am looking for a lawyer to sue them. WHATEVER YOU DO, STAY AWAY FROM ASPEN DENTAL!!

I started my horrible journey with Aspen Dental on March 6, 2015. With **. Went in and had consultation Nd X-rays and all the things that supposedly go along with the new patient fee of $19. I was told over the phone when making the appointment that as along as I had insurance, there would be no charge for the appointment. I walked out that day paying nothing and then two later had a bill saying I owe the 18.60 for my consultation.

On March 6, 2015 I decided to go ahead and schedule my work for a complete denture set which me at getting 15 teeth removed and an immediate denture inserted afterwards. Now, they want their money up front which I paid 60% of the bill which was 1780.00 and paid the balance 1190.00 the day of the surgery. Here is where the bulk of the problems started.

After the extractions I went in the next day for post op evaluation. ** looked at my extractions site to check to make sure they were healing correcting and she said everything was looking good. I informed her that my immediate dentures would not even stay in my mouth and she decided to do a soft reline on my dentures. Now mind you I had just had 15 teeth pulled and still had stitches in my mouth. I was later informed by another dentist that should not have been done that soon. So after that visit, ** was actually leaving the Johnson City office going to the Nashville office.

This is where I switched over to ** and the first time I saw ** I was in horrible pain I had to go in for an emergency visit (Also, when I called the receptionist informed me I shouldn't be in pain anymore and asked why I was still hurting. This was 5 days post op) because I had developed horrible blisters and was arrogated because I had yet to be able to wear immediate dentures that I paid over $600 for. ** had not addressed any issues dealing with my dentures at this point. She wrote me a prescription for an oral rinse and even after I was sitting there in so much pain and crying it was like an act of congress to get something for the pain so I could sleep. Horrible customer service by both Drs thus far. So I left that day not very confident in the people I had spent so much money on.

I had another app April 3rd 2015 with ** this time they had put down for suture removal and little did they know the suture had fallen out on their own over the past week something else that did not inspire my confidence. I got there and they told me they only had me down for suture removal and if I had concerns about my dentures it would be awhile before I could see **. I said I'll wait after all this is a 45 minute drive there and back home.

So the doctor comes in and assesses the situation and this is when it's brought to my attention that I had too much bone for the denture to fit properly. She informed me I would have to have an Alveoplasty to remove some of the bone. Now, remind you this is the 3rd time a doctor has seen my mouth and dentures before this is brought to my attention. I heard ** whisper to her assailant that it should've have been down when my teeth were extracted and that if doctors don't look for that it could cause issues.

Now is where my frustration has hit its peak. They informed me I would have to pay $1000.00 dollars to have this extra procedure done. When I spoke with the office manager she said this situation has never happened before and I asked her what she planned on doing about it because I was told and quoted one price and now here is an unexpected cost that was never mentioned the other 3 times I had visited this office. So I left that day not paying anything. As I asked the office manager to speak with the doctor about the price and see if they could get a better price considering this was an unforeseen cost. The cost was cut down to 500 the office manager said that's the best she could do.

That brings me to today April 9, 2015. I went in this time for a was bite because they were gonna make me a new set of immediate dentures free of charge and also schedule the Alveoplasty. So, this had to be the worse appointment of all of them. I got there and signed in and waited for like 10 minutes or so and was called back. I got in the chair and the ** came in about 5 or so minutes later. She came in and awe exchanged pleasantries all phony on my part. She looked in my mouth and said she had a impression or mold made from the clay impressions they took the last visit and she needed to get a wax bite from it so she can see where she'll have to remove excess bone during the Alveoplasty.

So the whole time she was doing this she was obviously frustrated and not only that sharing my medical needs with everyone in hear shot including other patients and another doctor that knew nothing of my case. So we were going back and forth trying to get these molds in my mouth so she could get bite impressions. She keep raising her voice to me to bite down harder and harder I told her that's as far as my mouth would go and she got frustrated and sighed every time she had to start over. Every time she went back to make the wax again she made condescending remarks such as "OMG she has one room on her mouth she has too much bone" and "I can't get the mold in right because her mouth is so small.”

Also every time the mold and wax hit my gag reflex she got annoyed and told me that she would have to keep remaking the wax if I don't hold still. Now mind you I'm literally about to vomit but instead of being patient and kind she was rude and annoyed that led the other doctor to come over and inform me that gagging was a psychological thing it was all in my head. I thought seriously did you just say that? So once all that nightmare was over and the mold was finished even after she constantly said “Oh ** my lab guy is not going to like this. He is not gonna like this.” I felt so small and hurt that I chose to work with these types of people who have forgotten that customer service should be first priority.

After I was out of the chair I was lead back to the "money department" where I was informed that the Alveoplasty would cost $660. This was not the agreed upon price and I informed the receptionist that I would not pay that amount and she told me she would have the office manager ** give me a call since she was not there today. As I was sitting there ** came out to say that she would do the best she could to make my dentures "presentable." Wow, this is not something you want to hear from a dentist.

She also said I had a challenging mouth and I told her "I hope you’re up for the challenge." She said it's not that it's a challenge she said I had no room in my mouth and that's when I signed my forms and got up and walked out without looking back at anyone. I'm waiting until I get my permanent denture before asking for a full refund per the contract that's when I can ask. I wish there was something that could be done now. I cringe knowing I have to go back there and possibly get my mouth messed up even further. Please someone send help!

Aspen dental in Poughkeepsie, NY removed my teeth did 1/4 of the work they agreed to do. Gave me appointments 2 plus months apart. When I inquired about work that "they" said needed attention, they gave me nothing but double talk. After my last visit, which once again was suppose to be for a large cavity filling (it had been 1 year!) I was told a tooth was being removed! When I got upset after hearing about a tooth removal the dentist sent me a registered letter that I was no longer their patient and to seek care elsewhere. When I spoke to the "office manager", she proceeded once again to try to double talk me and tell me temporary dentures was what I paid for and that my fillings were not done in a whole year because I cancelled one appointment!! There is a lot more, too much to post right now.

So, as it stands right now- Upper dentures that don't fit right. Lower partial I haven't been able to wear for a year. 3 cavities (one they told me was pretty big a year ago!) A 3 YEAR WARRANTY that seems to be null and void. Money taken from my insurance company for work that was and will not be done and thousands on a dental charge which has been paid the whole year! EVERY LAST PERSON IN THIS OFFICE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED!! They seem to think just because you need to go there for economic reasons that you are an idiot. REPORT these people EVERYWHERE you can. Report them and don't stop until they make good on your agreements or return every last penny they took from you!!

Not only that, they made their diagnosis but had me wait several days with a toothache. TERRIBLY UPSET. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM. Need to file a complaint against them with the BBB.

I started going to the Stuart location and a new employee was very unprofessional. She tried numbing me 4 times for a filling and kept hurting me cause she did not hit the right spot. After the 4th time, I said that's enough. The head dr came in and took over. Because she didn't hit the right spot he had to give me another 3 shots, total of 7 shot! I told them, no more shots that my heart was racing and I did not feel comfortable anymore. I switched locations and started going to the Wellington location. I just went there yesterday and I'm very dissatisfied. I told them the problem I am having is in the area of where they give me a filling, when I floss it smells like crap. The dr came in and looked at it and said I need a deep cleaning. They must think people are dumb and don't research things. I have done a lot of extensive research because I have been getting bad response with people covering their nose from the horrible smell.

First off, I was upset after seeing that the tooth that got filled, to fill it, they drilled a chunk out of a good tooth next to the bad one to fill bad one and filled both. Recommended a deep cleaning without even measuring the gum lines. Sat down with the manager and she said it’s 267$ per quad. Came to a little over a 1000$. I said that was crazy for a cleaning and they lowered the price to 200$ per quad. I said, let’s do the top left quad in the area I floss smelled bad. I give them 100$ and said I will pay the rest on friday. I still get the same bad smell in the same area and bad taste in my mouth. I will not be paying the remaining amount and I will never go back there again. They didn't even know what a halimeter was. They just want your money and don't care about anything else.

The most unprofessional office I have ever had to deal with. Took an hour or more just to do the initial x-rays, the person taking the x-rays didn't even know how to operate the equipment, I know this because she told me this herself. By the way, the x-ray rooms are not private, when they take your pics there you are left with your mouth gaping, where everyone can see. After that fiasco I was put in a chair, across the same room I was in, someone else was having their tooth extracted in plain view. The hygienist came in to do a "periodontal chart"… as she was attempting to go through the motions of doing so, the same "tech" that flubbed the x-rays didn't know how to input the numbers in the computer. Which led to having to poke and prod my sore gums over and over again.

Then, the Dentist came in. He threw my x-rays in my face, quickly and without even being nice about it gave me some vague options that did not really have an end result. When I tried to ask questions I was cut off by him and he just repeatedly kept saying, “don't let the pain choose your treatment”. It was obscure...Like one of those phone recordings.. but this guy was real. In the end it was recommended that the first step of my treatment was to have the 4 impacted wisdom teeth extracted. Now all of this up until then took 3 hours... yes 3 hours. BUT within 15 minutes they had a 3,000 dollar credit line opened in my name and scheduled me for a "Dental Surgeon", whose office was an hour and a half away. This was scheduled for April 1st at 1pm.

On April 1st at 8 am the office of the surgeon called to cancel the surgery and wanted me to drive the hour and a half still... for another consultation. I called the manager from the branch I went to, and asked to have my line of credit closed and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. She asked me to give her some time to see if a surgeon closer could see me today. I waited a half hour, the clerk called me back to say she found a surgeon that is not affiliated with Aspen to see me. I did not ask them to call any 3rd party offices for me, I can do that myself.

At this point I had to be more stern about severing my ties here and stopping the line of credit with Aspen so I could go elsewhere. I was then told that, and please TAKE NOTE OF THIS, apparently they can open the line of credit but they cannot close it. In other words, I haven't even heard from these people yet, and was told all Aspen could do was give me a refund, that I would need to call the credit line and deal with that myself. If you have a choice DO NOT GO TO ASPEN....

The worst. Aspen Dental advertises free X-rays for new patients, lies. My insurance and I were billed for my X-rays. I ignored it and proceeded with them as my dentist (bad idea). When I went in to make the appointment I had to put 60% down which I already knew. They failed to tell me that 25% discount only came off of certain areas of the bill. WHAT?! I ended up paying a lot more out of pocket than I expected. Then they made an error with my bill and I had to go back AGAIN and fix it. Get it together.

I finally go back for my appointment. She worked so fast and so vigorously, parts of my mouth weren't even numb, it was ridiculously painful. There's no way I paid that much money for 20 min of work & there's no way that she did what she was supposed to that fast. She was apparently in a hurry the entire time so much so that she didn't even type out directions on how to use the products I was given for treatment at home. 4 boxes and I have no idea how to use any of it. I called Aspen Dental for a Cleaning and annual checkup. I had gone to Aspen for a loose crown and they helped me with regluing. I thought they were a pretty neat company. So, I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and I clearly stated for a cleaning. 25 minutes later I was taken to the XRay room and had a full set of xrays done. I was then escorted to a patient room, and was told that I was going to have a review of my gums, which the Dr needs in order to assess the treatment they were to recommend.

Twenty minutes later, the Xray lady, came and told me that the Dr was running 20 minutes late, and she would be in as soon as possible. So I said, "can I get my teeth cleaned while we wait for the Dr." XRay lady said, "you're not scheduled to have your teeth cleaned today. We can see if they have openings later in the day and you can have that done," but this appointment is for the Dr to assess your needs and get your approval." I say... "When I called for this appointment I said Cleaning, and was told I would have to have Xrays. I agreed to the Xrays and the Cleaning, and how you are saying there is no cleaning?" I say... "My insurance will not cover two visits. So, you are saying I cannot get a cleaning unless I scheduled it after the Dr views my Xrays, and I have to pay full price for it?" She said "your insurance should cover the cleaning, but not the Dr appointment."

I felt like I was taken, I called specifically for the cleaning, set up the appointment clearly for a cleaning. No one said, 'you cannot get a cleaning on your first visit.' I am so angry at this. I was also in the office for 1 hour and 20 minutes before the XRay lady told me I was not getting a cleaning. I wanted to speak with the Dr, but she was running late. I told them I would wait the 20 minutes more, but had to leave to make an appointment 40 minutes away. When no one showed up in the twenty minutes, I got up and left. As I was going out the door the receptionist says "Have a nice day." This place is disorganized and it is fraudulently getting customers in the door, and charging them for things that are not what a customer asked for.

I did not sign this section and informed to lady at the counter I would sign as soon as I read it. I was never supplied this information. At that time they told me that I would have to make another appointment for that, these appointment was just for x-rays and to work out a dental plan.

Well that set me off cause I told them at the beginning I only wanted to get the front tooth filled. So now it’s out to the front to talk to the financial people. They tell me I need $850 and they could set me up with a payment plan which would run me $48 per month for 18 months. I told him “I was on Social Security and I was only interested today about getting the front tooth filled” and ask how much that was. I was quoted $285 to get that tooth filled and it would cost me more per month because it would only be for 6 months. I told him “I had the cash for that and when can I get it done.” He made me appointment for the following Friday. Then he asked me if I wanted to pay for it today? I declined and told him I would pay when I had the work done. I glad I did because after reading these reviews here am not going back. They do not care about the person, just the money. I don't think they care if you have kids when you ask to get off one or 2 days, a few minutes early to pick up your kids, they give you "we can't over work the other girl that does nothing." I was very surprised how this company works. When you do something that you were not told that you can't do in training, they write you up and tell you it's to cover their own butt. They don't care how hard you work or that the patient like coming because of the service you gave them, it's "hey great job, can you sign this. She called the # on my card, gave them my policy #. She then turned back to me and wrote up my contract, told me how much I needed for my co-payment of over $1600 and that this would have to be paid in full before I could proceed with the procedure. I gave her my debit card for the first $1000 and said after my next payday, I would have the rest (I have ALL of the paperwork). I paid the rest of the co-pay and went through with the procedure.

I went back for my first fitting of it and then started getting bills for the remainder of the cost. I called my ins. to see why they didn't pay this and they said I had no coverage. I've not been back since the fitting visit and I'm still wearing a temporary plate. At 63, I cannot afford this and the office manager new this. I'm sure that my ins. co. told her there was no dental coverage on my policy when she spoke to them. Why wouldn't they? They had nothing to lose. Why didn't she tell me this? Did she think because I gave her the co-payment I would come up with the rest? I emptied my savings to do that.

Now I'm being billed for the rest of these services I didn't receive and dentures I don't have. I don't know what to do about this now. When speaking to a friend about this problem she stated that the same office, when she said she couldn't afford it, told her to go ahead and finance since she may be filing bankruptcy, she could add it in with that. Why is it anything for the sale?

I had all of my teeth extracted on 8/20/14 and have had nothing but one excuse after when I asked questions. I was not informed that I had two (2) impacted Wisdom Teeth (One Upper Right, and One Lower Right). The Lower Denture continually caused pain causing for me to request an updated X-ray to see if the Impacted Teeth were ready to be extracted. An appointment was made for 11/5/14 to have the mentioned teeth extracted, but the Doctor would not do the procedure stating "The lower tooth was too close to a nerve and could cause facial damage". After that the only solution Aspen Dental could come up with was to remove the last tooth from the bottom denture. I am now set to get my final dentures, but I have had nothing but negative experience in using the temporary dentures.

I have asked over and over again "Why are the dentures so bulky" and I'm told again that the final dentures will be different. I told Aspen Dental that I will not have my final dentures with uneven cut off lower denture. Their only reply is that they will work with it, but have no explanation as to how this would be accomplished. I have twice told them that “I will not accept anything else than a complete set of dentures.” Since I can't see with the facts as stated above how is this possible. I have talked with current and past Aspen Dental clients and I am finding almost identical unfavorable results. I would like to know what is my next course of action should be taken. I have given thought numerous time about getting the local News involved, but have held off in doing so.

Went to the Kingsport, Tennessee office. Called about 2 weeks ahead and was told they were in network provider with my insurance plan. My insurance pays for x-rays and standard teeth cleaning with no money out of my pocket. These people are a total waste of time. They will not clean your teeth like a normal dentist will. They will recommend deep cleanings and extra stuff that will run up the bill to around $900.00 just to clean your teeth. They will then send you to the office manager who will tell you your insurance is useless! And tell you how to finance the work. Turns out the office manager let it slip they are not in network! They lied and wasted my time! I wish I had read the reviews before I made this appointment. I will be checking my EOB to see if they claimed to clean my teeth. I was told my appointment for my first step in bridge prep would only be $168 dollars and change. When I get there the woman at the desk says that I need to pull more than $1000 dollars out of pocket and that amount is for only 60% of the complete price. I questioned them and was told that the info I was given previously was incorrect. I explained that I was unable to do the appointment that day because I lacked the proper funds and I was told that I would receive a phone call when they had something available to reschedule. What a joke! No one has called me as of yet...

I went to the office in Horseheads, NY. My husband and I went in for a routine cleaning and check up. To be fair, the receptionist said that it would be a check up and x-ray appointment and the cleaning would be scheduled for another time. We showed up early, but still had to wait 45 minutes after our appointment time. When the x-ray tech took us back she was sticky sweet and quick. I was impressed at her seeming intent to hurry, but when I was done she asked me to LIKE them on Facebook. She said, "It will really help a lot." As everything went downhill quickly, I can see why they needed the vote of confidence.

The dentist came in for five minutes total. He proclaimed me cavity free even though I am pretty sure I have a couple on my top, left side. He told the hygienist to do a periodontal screening. She began by running a pointed tool over my gums. In four sections she took her measurements of my gum disease and then inputted all of the numbers into the computer. That is 3 measurements per tooth, top and bottom, and front and back. She told me she could memorize them all. Then came the sales pitches. First, I need a two part cleaning. Something that has never happened to me before, but I thought, she is the professional. She described the process and told me about a special rinse and toothbrush that she will prescribe and that she is sure that my condition is fully reversible. Next, she starts telling me that I should replace my cap even though there is nothing wrong with mine.

I join my husband is in his adjoining nook (there are no private rooms) and the hygienist goes to start the periodontal screening even though the dentist had not even been in yet. However, the dentist came in before she started. Again, the dentist proclaims my husband cavity free except the truth is that my husband has a fractured cavity. He is telling the dentist when the hygienist pops back in and tells the dentist that she meant to tell him about it. He looks again and says, "Oh yeah, I see it now." He proceeds to tell the hygienist to start her screening. Shockingly, he too needs the two part cleaning.

By then we knew we were not in a competent office and wanted to leave. We went to the receptionist to check out and got quite a shock. They don't charge the insurance for two part cleanings. They are out of pocket. On top of that the toothbrush that she would prescribe is an Oral B that I already own. When I told her to take the extra charges off she said that she couldn't because she isn't a certified clinician. When I asked her about why the insurance wouldn't pay any of the cleaning she side stepped again. My husband indicated that we were leaving and just finish going through the motions. I canceled the appointments the next day and made a complaint to my insurance company.

Today, I got a letter from them saying that they don't have any complaints against this company so there is no recourse. From the long list of complaints on this forum, I can't believe this is true. The important information that I did get from my insurance company though is that they do pay for two part cleanings but the dentist has to justify the work with x-ray evidence. Aspen took my x-rays but obviously were not willing to turn them in on my behalf. I am positive that is because I have really nice teeth and gums and don't need a two part cleaning at all!!!

I live in Tucson, but I am the son of a dentist residing in Phoenix. In December of 2014, I went in to Aspen for an exam, x-rays, and cleaning. The bill was for $220, $120 of which was my co-pay. After the exam and set of 15-19 "full-mouth" x-rays were completed, I inquired about the cleaning. I was told by the hygienist that I needed a deep-cleaning, aka "scaling," and that my teeth would not and could not be cleaned in the regular fashion. The co-pay for the scaling was another $130. Well, as a teacher here in Tucson, I didn't have a spare $130 after having just paid $120 for the first co-pay.

So, I called Aspen and asked if they would just clean my teeth to get rid of the plaque, etc. for now and asked if we could do the scaling on the next visit. I was told by a receptionist, a hygienist, and the office manager that my request was impossible because the hygienist had "prescribed" my scaling and that she would "lose her license" if she back-tracked on her assessment and scaling plan. This all sounded fishy to me, so I called the AZ Board of Dental Examiners and was told there was no such rule about hygienists losing their license over a request like mine. They essentially told me I'd been fed a line.

Therefore, I was lied to by Aspen three times by three different people, including the office manager. Given that my first co-pay was $120, that I was given almost 20 x-rays (I've never had more than six in 45 years), and that I was being forced into another high co-pay cleaning... I'll allow you to draw your own conclusions. I will be reporting Aspen Dental to the BBB and filing a complaint with the Board of Dental Examiners (for starters). Buyer beware at Aspen Dental.

After questioning their opinion several times (which I later discovered by new outstanding dentist that they were totally wrong and Aspen dental was a rip off) they asked me to go somewhere else. After I had already paid $200 upfront for services I never received, after they asked me kindly to leave at my scheduled appointment I took the day off work for and didn't have any work done.

I was told I would receive a refund for $200 I already paid and no services were rendered. The refund was expected within 7 to 10 days and took a month to get back. The office manager never returned any of my calls. Not only did they damage my teeth worse and only take x-rays to rack up insurance bill every time I was seen, I NEVER actually had a problem fixed.

He said the owner said I could go ahead and have this done. Well me not being a dental surgeon and not knowing told them ok, they were the ones that should know.

So they made me an appointment. I went there on my appointment, there was a surgeon that was from somewhere else, I had never seen him before. I got two shots in my gums without even swabbing me first, and did that ever hurt. Then he gave me x-rays and probed my gums and told me I was not ready yet, not safe. That frightened me so bad that I don't even want to go back. I've paid for my permanent dentures and don't want to go back. I have thought about just calling it a loss and going somewhere else.

After 2 phone calls, they asked me to come in at noon, but I had to work until 12:30 at a job with time constraints, and could the doctor call in a prescription for antibiotics. This was a tooth I had problems with in the past, and was treated with antibiotics from the same dentist. She said no, and he had to see me first. Well, as the pain got worse I called again and asked that the doctor call me to give me some idea how to treat my pain. I never received a call.

On Sunday the pain was so bad that I had to go to Urgent Care for antibiotics, and made an appointment at Aspen for Monday afternoon. When I arrived I got treated with phony politeness. And when the dentist saw me, he was defensive and accusatory, saying if I didn't come in when they asked me to, the pain must not have been too bad. He was condescending and caused such anxiety I almost walked out. He gave me a half-hearted exam and at checkout I was told to pay $70 for the exam and X-rays. My insurance plan covers both fully, which I informed her, but she kept insisting I owed that amount after speaking with my ins. company.

She could not have called them because I made that call when I got home, and was assured that visit was not to be charged, as I pay extra for that coverage. The billing girl was arrogant and hard-nosed, and never gave me the benefit of the doubt. I will never enter that practice again, and when a medical facility makes their patients feel like second class citizens, I feel I have the responsibility to call them out on it. I was so upset after that visit, I actually lost sleep over it. They are an awful facility, and hear most Aspen Dental offices are similar in their attitudes. Rate them an F. On 12/28/2013 I went to Aspen Dental in Cleveland, Tennessee to pick up my partial. When trying the partial in to see it fit, I felt like it has a spongy feel to it. I told the dentist then that the partial felt spongy. That was the only way that I could explain it. The dentist took a quick look and I said again that I thought it felt spongy. He took another quick glance and said it was fine, and left the room. After a few minutes he returned and I again told him it felt like it was moving, without saying a word, he left the room and never returned. I sat for a few minutes thinking he would come back and fix the problem. So my husband and I left. I didn't know what else to do. I felt like I had been dismissed.

I wore the partial everyday trying to get used to it. The partial still felt spongy but since I didn't know that is should feel any different, I dismissed the problem. After several weeks my teeth started hurting and my gums were red and swollen. I had stopped wearing the partial because of the pain. If I have to leave the house, I take the partial with my and put it is when I get where I am going, because I had noticed that the clasp was not in the same place as it was when I first started wearing it. I was worried about causing more damage. In February I called and told them that my partial did not fit and it was hurting my teeth. At the time, the weather was bad and I was in the process of moving. I could not get into the office, but I wanted them aware that I was having an issue with the partial.

When I got in to see the dentist I told him that the partial did not fit. I wrote out my concerns and I gave it to the dentist. He looked it over and left the room and came back with two other men and shut the exam room door. I tried to explain to him the concerns I was having with the partial. These issues I will list at the end of this letter. I tried to explain to him that the clasp was place halfway between the teeth and the gums and that it had moved. I tried to tell him that I felt like my teeth were being pulled inward. He said that was not possible. I tried to explain to him that my teeth had been ground down from the previous dentist and I felt that the clasp was not sitting properly on the bottom of my teeth and that was what was causing the movement. He basically said I was lying.

I was getting upset, mostly fearful, because of his attitude. Since he had a light shining in my face and I could not see him or the two other men, I sat up in the chair with my feet to the side and seen he left the side of the chair and seen he was standing at the counter with his hands around a large hand sanitizer, squeezing it, mumbling something that I could not understand. At this point I am becoming more and more scared and intimated by his attitude. He returns back to the side of the chair and he starts yelling me and I get up and run from the room and I ask the receptionist to get my husband. I am so terrified by this time, I did not know what else to do. My husband walks into the reception area and the dentist and the two other men see him and leave the exam room. We sit there for about ten or so minutes and I have explained to my husband what had happened.

My husband leaves the exam room and asked to the office manager since the dentist or the two other men never returned. She comes in, listens to what has transpired and offers to correct the problem or give my money back. I said I would like to have the problem with the partial fixed. So another appointment is made for April 24, 2014. I keep the appointment. When I get there, they call me back and the dentist and some lady comes into the exam room. The dentist stands to the side of the chair shines the light into my face takes my partial and says it is fine and nothing is wrong with it, never once taking in consideration that what I was saying about my teeth being ground down and the clasp not sitting firmly could be the issue. He would not listen to my concerns or even check to see if what I was saying could be in fact the problem. He said that this partial could not make my teeth move and that I was wrong.

All this time he has left the light glaring in my face so that I cannot see him. I once again tried to explain to him to look at the partial and the way it was sitting on my teeth where they had been ground down my teeth. Once again he dismissed the issue. All this time the light is still shining in my face and I cannot see if he is standing there or not. I realized he was not responding to my questions so I moved the light and seen that he had left the exam room and left me talking to myself. I felt humiliated by his actions. I got up and the woman that came into the office was still standing in the corner behind me. She looked embarrassed and shocked by what had just transpired.

He did not give me my partial back nor had he placed it on the instrument tray. I had to look for my partial. He had placed it on the counter behind me. I washed it off and left the exam room crying. I went into the waiting room where my husband was waiting and told him what had happened and he asked to see the office manager. They had no intentions of fixing the partial when I came in, just like the dentist had no intention of listening to my concerns. They returned 337.50 and told me I was to return the partial back to them on July 28, 2014 or I would be charged for it.

I got to the appointment more than 30 minutes early to take care of any paperwork beforehand. After almost an hour of listening to a guy in the waiting room talking about how they better give him pain pills for his infection in his mouth and 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the x-ray technician finally came to get me. She was super nice and she is the only thing positive about my experience. I had also repeatedly mentioned and asked about the likelihood of my ability to get my tooth repaired before said interview next week.

When I finally saw the dentist, or should I say, she looked in my mouth, she said 2 words to me, 3 to the technician and left. I have never met a dentist so completely hands off. 2 hours after my appointment time, I was seated with a lady who told me the total cost would be over $5,000 and would I be interested in a payment option. I had to ask for an explanation of this "treatment" plan and when I had specifically stated I was just looking a composite fix for the chip for right now, she had to "consult" the dentist. I am less unhappy about the estimated cost as I am with the fact that that was a giant waste of my time. If a company has no desire to actually do any requested work, then just state you cannot or will not do it. But I'm sure that guy got the narcotics he was looking for.

Second surprise, the 10% senior discount was missing from the pricing quote. Third surprise, the free first visit and x-rays were not so free, read the fine print. Fourth surprise, the price guarantee & insurance guarantee seem to have some loopholes.

My wife left the office thinking her bill was paid in full only to find out an additional charge of $40 was sent in the mail. Mind you I chose not to have any gas just local and they said I would have to travel 2 1/2 hours away to get this done because the dentist I needed wasn't in the clinic. To top it all off, the people are super snotty. I have care credit card for emergencies and I tried to give it to the women behind the counter and she refused it. That happened before I went in back and after I went back to the front she told me that it was declined. I called the 1-800 # on the back of the card and they told me they don't see why it was declined. And when I went back in, another women was in her place. I had explained what happened and she gave me an attitude as though this whole conversation was beneath her, told me that I was lying to them.

The other women came out, at that point I was so angry about what was taking place, other people were looking at me. They heard the whole conversation from the beginning. They started to leave and then I was kicked out. I will never go back. These people are a joke. This place is a joke - a barn of farm animals could run this place better. Heck a bunch of screaming crying newborns could do better. I hate having to rate this place but there is option for zero. I still have the two wisdom teeth in my head and I'm still trying to find a dentist that can take them out and they are getting worse because that is the only company in my area that can do it.

Aspen Dental in college station on tx ave - I broke a tooth completely off eating beef jerky. I called Friday morning had to make an emergency appointment because they were booked all day. So I go in they call me back. First of all they leave me sitting in a room for over an hour. Then a nurse came in did an X-ray and put a temporary filling in. The nurse said that they would call an antibiotic and pain med in and to go up front she would make me appointment Friday later in the week, which was fine.

But then the nurse stops me and says the dentist wants to talk to me. So I'm already in serious pain. So I ask how long it’s going to be before I see the dentist. She says she can't give me a time frame. In the mean time the dentist stops what she is doing next to me and comes over and very rudely says she's tired of me asking how long it's going to be (mind you I only asked one time how long it will be). She's rolling her eyes and telling me even though I have an emergency appointment that I'm not a priority and she would not make me a priority, which I didn't expect to be.

So I told her I was leaving, that I would not be treated that way, or talked to that way. So at this point the nurse checks me out and ask for my pharmacy info and says something will be called in. This is at 11 am. At 3 pm I'm in serious pain. I call the office speak to the office manager Lilly. She tells me, "The dentists are booked with surgery. They will call you in something before they leave." At 5:45, 15 mins before they close I get the same story. Meds will be called in before they leave. At 7:00 I call the emergency line and the same dentist who was rude to me basically accuses me of just wanting pain meds. (My tooth is abscessed. Nerves are showing). She eventually calls something in.

I paid $66.00 for an emergency visit and so now I'm looking for another dentist. 90 percent of the people at this clinic are rude and don't care about you as a patient... Avoid. Save your money...

I needed new dentures. Went to Aspen in Easton, Pa. about 2-2.5 years ago. Got dentures... Fit good and was happy with them. About 5 months ago my top denture plate had a small crack appear. I went back to them and they "fixed" it.... or so I thought. 2 weeks later I returned with a crack in the exact same place! They fixed it again. About 3 months later I had a split on my top denture between my 2 front teeth. They fixed it and I was told that I should get a reline. I thought ok, but the office I was going to was 25 miles from home. I called the Stroudsburg office and had my file sent there... worse mistake ever.

I came in on a Thursday and they did the reline. Total of $246. When I received the dentures back they were a totally wrong fit with my bottom plate. The assistant tried to adjust them and told me to go home and see if they would be better tomorrow. I went back the next day. The fit was awful and made my jaw hurt. The dentist came in and blamed me telling me I did not line them up right.

How am I supposed to line them up? They are the so-called professionals!! I was told in order to fix it they would need to scrap off the reline material and try it again. Ok, we did that. They took off all the reline material and started over. They put them in my mouth and made sure they were lined up together. Waited the 5 minutes, jaw closed, didn't move!

They took it out and I had to wait the 2 hours for them to set. Went back to get them and this time they were even worse! The assistant, same gentleman that told me to "go home and see if they fit tomorrow", tried to grind my upper teeth to make them fit and told me the same thing... go home and "see if they fit better tomorrow". Really??

Well I had to wait till Monday to go back to the dentist. I explained to the dentist about them not fitting right. She told me that I cannot do another reline and that they did not touch the teeth and make them move. Then why do they not fit? I am having jaw pain and trouble eating because of this, and just found another crack in the denture due to them not fitting right. I will go back to them and make sure they "fix" them correctly this time. I look like I have bucked teeth and my speech is totally changed. I work where I am constantly talking to people and I sound like I am slurring my words. Please do not go to Aspen.. It is not worth it!

Then we reschedule and AGAIN we are called that they cannot see us. We have dental insurance that pays for us to see a dentist twice a year and Aspen Dental is NOT complying to this. It took my husband (4) attempts to get in this office all due to them as we never have cancelled an appointment. I do not know if this is Aspen Dental practice or if this is just the office I go to in Lady Lake, FL.

I found myself with a toothache and unfortunately my normal dentist was closed that day, so I was able to schedule an appointment with Aspen Dental. After a very painful process to get pictures taken of my teeth, the dentist who saw me told me the reason for my pain was because I had at least 2 or 3 cavities in that area. They went on to tell me that I also had bone loss on the other side of my mouth and a feeling that needed to be redone and another cavity.

I was amazed at this considering I was just at my regular dentist not even 6 months ago for a checkup. I was told there was nothing they could do for me that day and I would have to reschedule. I decided that if I was going to have to wait, mise well just wait and follow up with my normal dentist. I followed up with my dentist about a week later.

I was told there was no sign of bone loss but more importantly there was no cavities in that area that was hurting, but that my tooth was broke. How do they not only do not only make up cavities that don't exist, but completely miss that my tooth is broke! When I called to complain, all they could do was make excuses! They are a piece of trash company! All they are out for is your money! They don't actually care about you!

Overtime, we noticed her front teeth were growing crooked. So we asked the Dentist and she said it was normal. We had our doubts so we went to a different Dentist and as we thought they were not in the right position as they grew. The same day after my experience at Aspen Dental, the front desk lady said they would not assist my daughter because of her condition. After almost 2 years, it's an issue. Never again with this incompetent people. Their lack of professionalism and the time wasted in the end, they lied in our faces playing with her disability. I make it clear. My first appointment with Aspen Dental was on 12/19/14. I was first taken to the x-ray room for x-rays of my mouth. I was then taken to another room (no privacy at all) where the hygienist poked around my gums and proceeded to tell me I needed a two-part cleaning of my remaining lower teeth. After she did the first part of the cleaning, she told me I had a # 2 level gum disease which, according to her, wasn't so bad. After the cleaning, I was to come back on the 6th of January for a FUD (full upper denture). I hadn't even had impressions made yet!! So, after I was done I had to talk with the financial person. Fortunately, my bus driver warned me about them just before he dropped me off at Aspen. He said "You'd better watch them, they will try to get you to sign up with a finance company".

Sure enough, they did try. The finance person handed me an elaborate financial printout stating my total cost for the denture and the cleaning etc. was $824.00. I happened to have $500.00 in cash and told them to put the rest on my credit card. I had 0 balance. On my subsequent visits, I wound up with printouts showing I had balances from $31.00 up to $640 for my 6 month visit which wouldn't be until July 2015. They actually tried to get me to pay before my next visit. These people are just all about money!

On one of my other appointments, I watched as they went to do their financial maneuverings on an elderly couple. They the husband he would have to pay an additional $115.00. He told them he had already set up a payment plan with their finance company and his payments weren't suppose to start until February 2015. The office person told him that was between him and the finance company. The $115.00 was to go directly to Aspen Dental.

I went back for my final visit to adjust my denture today. They will not see me again! Along with the seemingly shady financial dealings, there is no privacy offered during procedures, the x-ray machine didn't look clean enough for anyone to put their mouth on. I had the assistant clean it before she used it with me. In all fairness though, my teeth turned out well. I just didn't like the way they try to trick people into signing up with their finance company and the exorbitant prices for their dental services.

Back in June 2014 I went to our local Aspen Dental office to have all of my teeth removed. I was suffering from Severe Dry Mouth Syndrome due to all of the medications I must take daily for several chronic health issues. A number of them had snapped off just above the gum line on their own in the months leading up to my appointment. I was awake and only numbed and several times during the procedure which took about 2 hours to complete. The Dentist had a very hard time removing several teeth. In fact he had to continue numbing me because of the strong root system I have.

When they were finally done they immediately put my new dentures (1st time wearer) in along with a lot of gauze and sent me on my way. Well as you can imagine I was quite swollen and then in the next few days I was so badly bruised from under my eyes and around my lower jaw it looked as if I had gone 3 rounds with a prize fighter. Once the bleeding stopped in a few days I had to take my lower dentures out because all I felt was bone (very sharp and pointed) were cutting through my lower jaw in 4 areas. On occasion I even had to remove my uppers for the same reason.

When I went in for my first post extraction appointment and told them about the bones and the amount of pain I was dealing with they just said to give my mouth time to heal. They also told me that I had extra bone mostly in my lower jaw but a few spots in my upper as well and that was the reason my dentures didn't fit well. Since that visit I have been in and out of that office quite a bit and they still won't do anything about the jagged bony areas. They keep telling me I must try to keep the lowers in but if I continued having this issue I would probably benefit from having Dental Implants instead of the dentures.

About 2 months ago I was in again with the lowers they had made for me and they said I would have to have a new lower denture made but that should help alleviate my pain issue. Well after 3 more visits I got the new lower ones and they didn't help at all. By the time I got into the car I had to remove them because of the severe pain but I started to panic (and I don't have panic attack at all) while I was trying to remove them. They had quite a bit of suction and I was having a very hard time getting them out and the more I tried the more the denture was pressing against the bony portions and that caused even more pain.

Once again they told me to go home and slowly try to keep them in so I could tolerate them better. Needless to say I decided to get my money back for the lower denture but before I could give the Receptionist my reason to speak to the Office Manager, she told me she would call me back to discuss the matter but I am still waiting to this day. I then called again, explained the issue and how I wanted my money back for the lower denture and she told me that they don't return money after 30 days. I told her then why do they advertise it on TV. I got nowhere once again so I decided to got on their web site to try to get an address or a phone number to speak to someone in Corporate.

I located a number and once again explained why I was so upset with Aspen Dental. She listened to everything I had to say and she assured me that she would speak to the Office Manager and the regional Manager as well and one or both of them would call me to rectify this issue. Well it's been almost 3 1/2 weeks and once again no one has called. I explained that because the Dentist that did the extractions had such a hard time I know that the sharp areas under the skin is more than likely jagged edges and they should have been dealt with and filed down and if an Oral Surgeon had done the extractions he would have been able to do just that.

I now have to go find a Surgeon and see what he can do with these jagged edges and I know they're going to have to cut the gums in order to get to them which in turn will take time to heal all over again. I can't enjoy eating most of the things I used to enjoy because I can't chew properly and must swallow certain foods like most of the meats I prepare daily and with Christmas just over with I couldn't even enjoy eating most of the cookies I baked for friends and family. I will NEVER recommend Aspen Dental to anyone.

She was given an appointment with no mention that the cleaning would not be done at her first visit. She was told to come early to fill out paperwork. She arrived at 4:25 for a 4:45 pm appointment. She filled out her paperwork quickly and then was not seen by any staff until 5:45 pm. She did not leave the facility until 6:45 pm. She refused to have x-rays done as she had just had a set taken at the orthodontist 2 weeks before. The assistant said they were covered by insurance and took a set of panoramic images so that the doctor would have something to look at. The assistant assured her these were free x-rays.

She had the panoramic images taken and was led to a patient room where her blood pressure was taken. A hygienist then came in and checked the health of her gums. She then waited another 15 minutes for the doctor to arrive. He said he would not do an exam unless she had all the x-rays done. She told him she didn't need an exam and that she just wanted a cleaning before her braces. He told her he wouldn't schedule a cleaning without an exam and x-rays first. She told him that she could get the original x-rays from the orthodontist but the doctor argued that they probably wouldn't be the right ones. They agreed on a plan that she would get her x-rays from the orthodontist and scheduled an appointment.

She wound up cancelling that appointment the next day. She ultimately went to our original dentist in Hudson, NH....if for no other reason than she absolutely cannot have a 2-hour wait for an appointment in the middle of a work day for something as simple as a cleaning. Now it's an hour and 15 minutes. She then says, "Well we can't pull it today." I'm like, "Well that is why I am here?" They then send me to see office manager, who proceeds to tell me the extraction is 100.00 more than quoted. I tell them I don't have 100.00 extra dollars. I have been out of work for 6 months. I then asked about "loan." She said the loan program starts at 300.00. She said, "Well if you get your teeth cleaned, it would put it over 300.00." Actually it would be another 100.00. I said, "I don't need my teeth cleaned, everyone has crowns."

So needless to say, I did not get it pulled. It is now infected, which will now cost way more than 400.00. As I sit here, my mouth is throbbing. The office here was very upfront about everything, very personable, advised me of treatments my regular dentist never brought up for whatever reason. The procedures they set down made sense to me so we've been taking care of things. Today I had two teeth extracted and I must say because of how they performed that procedure, the extraction was the most painless extraction I've ever had and I've had a few. They even made it so I hardly felt the Novocaine being put in or the "prick" of the needle. Except for some organizational issues, I've been very satisfied with their service and costs. I'm thinking the office is new and is going through some growing issues. They had to be reminded about a couple things, but once reminded they took care of them with no problem.

Let me start by saying that I went to this place ten years ago and promptly left after two months. I couldn't quite remember why and I live in a different state now so when broke one of my teeth and it was hanging by a thread of my gum, I decided to try them out again. Well now I remember why I was so disgruntled in the first place.

First of all I waited 40 mins just to get x rays. Then another 30 for the hygienists. Everyone was very polite but I gradually realized they were all being fake acting like trained corporate parrots. They barely even talked about the tooth that was dangling off my mouth. They didn't listen to me at all and they kept listing off these problems like it was a dire emergency that I make all these appointments immediately. I told them so many times that I had no health insurance and I really just came in because it was an emergency and I needed my tooth pulled and that was it. They just kept coming back with why I can't wait and they wouldn't stop asking me if wanted a partial. They spoke in a way that gave me no choice. They were trying to make appointments without even asking me. And they tried to sell me some cancer scanning treatment which is just another scam. Half way through the appointment it dawned on me that this is exactly why my mother and I left in the first place. They kept trying to make us pay for all this stuff that wasn't necessary. But they tried to tell you that you need it. It was so weird it was like they were all trained robots.

Well anyway after two hours, they tell me I have to go sit down with their "office manager". The guy just starts making appointments and going on and on. Finally I had to put my foot down and be blunt. I had to interrupt him and tell "please I have no money and no insurance, I'm just concerned with the tooth dangling off my gum right now." He got the hint and started to make my appointment. I told him I couldn't pay the total so never mind and then magically there was a xmas special and he gave me 10 percent off. I sensed that he really wanted me to pay so he waited it out a little longer and then he gave me 15 percent when he saw I wasn't budging. Hah! It was ridiculous. We were talking about my teeth and I felt like we were at the pawn shop gathering for prices. ALL IN ALL THEY ARE NO MORE THAN A RETAIL STORE DESPERATE TO MAKE THE SALE!!!. That's not how I like to feel towards people that I'm trusting with my teeth. Oh and not to mention the doctor just jabbed her tool in my mouth and didn't even try to be careful by my hanging tooth. She smashed into it and when I told her what was wrong, she thought it was funny!

I went to our local Aspen Dental clinic because I had seen their ads and they seemed reasonable. I only needed to have one tooth taken care of -- it has a temporary crown and I needed to know my best options for further treatment. I was called back 1 hour and 20 minutes after my appointment time. Got full xrays (the xray tech was good at her job -- that's the only "positive" I can think of). Then I finally saw the doctor -- you'd think that I had never had dental care in my entire life according to how bad she said all of my teeth were. One tooth that needed attention turned into: 4 extractions, a partial denture for upper and lower, a crown, tooth scraping and root scaling (every 3 months), antibiotic powder to be put into all of my roots, a sonicare toothbrush ($159), prescription toothpaste, prescription mouthwash, etc. I had to wait longer for the "business manager" -- and then came the "good" news -- it would ONLY be over $8000, and my out of pocket would be over $6600. Of course, all of the work is definitely "necessary" and, how nice of them, they have several financing options. Um, no thank you!

I plan to go to a dental clinic at a local college where they're not in it for the money and will treat what I need treated, not what they can to make money. Oh, and by the way, the hygienist was very well rehearsed in her little speech about gingivitis, pockets, etc. Big surprise, my gums were bleeding -- um, do you think that might be because you've just been poking at them with a sharp metal instrument?? My advice, stay far, far away from any Aspen clinic unless you want to be taken for every dime you have and get unnecessary treatment.

Initial visit for my son went well we were told he needed some cavities filled and a cleaning so made a appointment for the following week, laid out $700.00 of bill to pay it all off, went the following week to have things taken care of. This time we saw a different dentist, why who knows, but this dentist said that she would not do the fillings because my son needed to be sedated and they do not sedate people. Also she was 7 months pregnant, what the ** that has to do with it? I do not know. We told them at the first visit that he was nervous about having the work done. WHY didn't they tell us that they do not sedate people in the first place and I would not have made a 2nd appointment to have other things done?

They referred me to another dentist that does sedate people if need be, when ask about the $700.00 I already paid out they said it would take 7-10 days to credit my account. Made the appointment with who they referred but they could not get him in for 6 days, called the Aspen office and told them I needed my card credited before Tuesday so I could pay for the new dentist work. Was told that the finance mgr would call me back (4 hrs later still no call). So in short between the lack of information given about their services, denying service because Dr. is 7 months pregnant and no call back concerning my credit to my card acct. I am TOTALLY DONE and WOULD NOT suggest Aspen Dental to anyone.

Aspen Dental in Hermitage, TN - I arrived early for an appointment and was pleasantly surprised when I was told they were ready for me to come back. After some excruciating x-rays, HUGE bite wings with cords causing the roof of my mouth and under my tongue to bleed, I was sat in an exam room. 20-30 minutes later the hygienist came in to poke and prod my teeth then sit down to give me a long winded story about some non-covered things they believed I would need, avoiding my "how much?" questions repeatedly. Of course she might have said had the dentist not kept interrupting about another patient in a different room, HIPAA violation by discussing it in front of me. I asked when I would see the dentist and was told, no less than 10 times, "She's on her way" over the course of an hour. After nearly 2 hours from the painful x-rays to the last "She's on her way" I walked out. IF you are brave enough to go here plan to spend 3-4 hours before you see the dentist. Now I will request a reversal of the charges from my bank as I never saw the dentist aside from the interruptions about another patient.

I made an appointment online for a simple cleaning visit in mid September of this year. When I came in for my appointment I was 10 minutes early hoping to get in a little earlier. After waiting in the waiting area for 45 minutes, I was called back for X-Rays. Those took about 10 more minutes. I was then taken back and given a seat. I then proceeded to wait another 50 minutes waiting to be seen by the hygienist. While waiting I was lucky enough to hear the person next to me scream and complain about coming in for her 3rd time for her dentures, and they still were not right. Finally, I was seen by the hygienist another 20-30 minutes later who examined my teeth and told me that I needed a 'special cleaning' and had 4 cavities that needed to be filled and that I would need to speak with the Billing Dept to discuss the pricing further and to make an additional appointment for later on in the month.

When I was seen by the Billing Team, they were prompt and courteous, and this was the only time in my visit where this was the case. However, the Billing Team went on to tell me that I was going to have to pay over $2,000 out of pocket to get all of this taken care of. I decided to not make an additional appointment but to get a second opinion at a different office. With my busy schedule, I was not able to make one until late last month. When getting the second opinion, my current dentist told me that he could not find ANY cavities and that I did need a special cleaning but the difference in pricing was astronomical. My current dentist told me that all that I would need to pay out of pocket, was just over $150.00. This was a complete surprise to me due to the pricing that was given to me by Aspen Dental. I will never go back to this place or recommend it to anyone I know. I also did write a review directly to Aspen, with no response at all but a reminder to make a follow up appointment.

In March, 2014 I had all bottom teeth extracted and had an immediate denture made and placed. I also had a new upper made to replace my old one. My upper I had some minor fit issues but with 2 or 3 adjustments they now are fitting ok. My lower dentures on the other hand are horrible. I am in pain most of the time from poor fit. I go in for an adjustment and they are not the best but would do but the fit never lasts more than 3 weeks and I get sores from the dentures and constant pain. And I have to call and make an appointment and am usually told I have to wait 1 to 3 weeks to get in. They don't have emergency appoints set aside but I could come in and wait for them to "work me in" but may have to wait for hours. This for someone with open sores and pain.

When I do get in they make temporary adjustments and am told to come back when they start hurting again. I want them to just fix them right. I feel they never really listen to me. They try to placate me for a little bit and send me on my way. It is now going on 9 months and I still can't eat food like a normal person. I can't even bite into a sandwich without my lowers popping loose (even with a bunch of adhesive) and cutting my gums. I am in a Dmo and can't go anywhere else.

I promptly go to a dentist every 6 months and has always been said I have good gum. She was unfriendly and rude. Then I was to talk with the office manager to talk about a financial plan. I told her I simply want to have an exam and cleaning, nothing additional. Then she said I can't have cleaning unless the dental hygienist would approve it. Unheard of. DH was already working on a different patient and I waited and waited and eventually gave up. I went home called my insurance co. and changed a dentist right away. I will never go back there again. They try to make money and force patients to agree with unnecessary treatment plan. Listen to other people. Stay away from Aspen Dental. She never cared if I am comfortable and ready to receive the treatment. She is in a hurry and started the treatment even before I could settle in the chair. She knows that deep cleaning procedure is going to be painful but never bothered checked if I am comfortable or ensure my gums are properly numbed before start. It was so painful all along and she never cared to listen to me. I would never visit Aspen Dental Mechanicsburg, PA next time if she is the one going to treat me. It is important for someone in medical service to be polite and ensure that patient is comfortable before starting any treatment. Definitely not that one like I experienced today!!!

I had seen the ads on TV for Aspen Dental and thought this might be a good place to go. I had a full plate on top with only 5 teeth on the bottom. I decided to get the lower teeth removed and have a full denture done along with a new denture for the top. The first thing that happened was that I had to talk with the finance manager. They told me the price and I told them that it was not what showed on the website. She acted surprised and brought it up. After looking at the site she agreed that it should be 500.00 less. The total bill was 2000.00. I gave them 500.00 and financed the rest with their financing people. I have been making monthly payments since.

I saw the dentist and they made impressions then scheduled another appointment for the extractions. The extractions were done and they put in the lower teeth. The next day my mouth started hurting really bad from the lower teeth. What had happened was that the gum portion of the denture was too long and pressing against my lower gum. I told them and they scheduled another appointment. The denture was ground off and replaced. The next day it began hurting in a different place. Again, it was ground off and replaced. Again, the next day it was sore and I returned and got the denture ground off in that place.

I then noticed that the teeth were out of alignment and the bite was off. I contacted them and made an appointment. This time the dentist seemed annoyed and made more impressions. It took all day to complete whatever they had to do. The denture was replaced and I left. The next day it began hurting the way it did the first time. This time I decided to use my dremel tool and fix the denture myself. Since then the teeth seem to work ok, but I think I am through with Aspen Dental.

I seen the commercials for Aspen and one opened up right down the street from me. I called and checked if my insurance was taken by them and yes it was so I scheduled an annual check up. The place is nice and the staff is very nice. I have never had any problems with my teeth or gums. I had my x-rays done first time, having each tooth x-rayed the way they did it. I usually just have one x-ray for the whole mouth so I was impressed they did that. After the x-ray I went back to another room where I sat on an examining table and waited for the doctor, which was right next to me about 5 feet away in the other part of the room which is open and working on a patient, weird that I can watch the patient get her teeth cleaned from my part of the room. No curtain to pull for privacy.

Well the Doc came to me next and went over my x-rays. Very nice doctor and told me and showed me I have a cavity and then used a hook shaped tool to do some scraping which I barely felt. Then he was done. I was told I would meet with the office Mgr to schedule appointments. Strange!! I felt like I was buying a house or an Automobile. Anyway the next day I was in pain. My teeth were so sensitive. Anything I drank or ate gave me shooting pains. It has been 5 days now and I am still having pains. What did they do to me????

Strange they gave it to me on other appointment in the past, so I guess since they found out I have cancer, that all changed. My tooth won't stay in when I eat; I'm in pain, but none of that matters to them. Now I have to fly 2 days from now and try to deal with the pain, my tooth falling out. But instead they took a bunch of x-rays and poked, pushed and stabbed my infected sore tooth and gum area! And then they told me there's nothing they can do until the swelling goes down!? (they didn't even give me anything to help the swelling) And they won't be able to see me again for another two months! They didn't prescribe me any medication for pain or any antibiotics at all. They treated me as if I was an idiot and I was just a big waste of their time! They were very rude and obviously did not care about my health or feelings at all!

I am very offended and I'm in more pain now than when I went in there to seek help!! I have not had anything to eat in days and I can barely talk! I just can't believe how unprofessional and uncaring they were to me! I went there for help and to hopefully cure my infection and manage my intense pain! And all they did was make my pain way worse and tell me there's nothing they can do!! People in the medical field are supposed to comfort us and work on helping our pains and conditions and give us hope! But aspen dental did the complete opposite!! I am just going to go back to my regular dentist and pay an arm and a leg to get the real health care I need and deserve!!

I paid $710.00 in cash and financed the rest with Genesis Credit. I returned on 07/03/14 had the procedure done and left with my temporary dentures. A week later I received a bill in the mail for $223.50 for extra extractions but the thing is... the teeth they were trying to bill me for ARE STILL IN MY MOUTH. I called and was told it was a typo not to worry about it. I received another bill for the same thing the following month and so on. I returned to the Yulee office on 09/18/14 for the molds for my permanent set. I brought the bill with me to show the office manager I was still be charged for teeth that had not removed and was told it would be taken care of again. I returned on 10/09/14 for another fitting and reminded them again I was still receiving the 223.50 bill. Was told it was a corporate thing and the manager would have to call the office to kill it.

Then I received my permanent partials on 10/14/14. So I am think I am done... happy with my partials and life would go on. BUT NO!!! I receive a bill dated 10/31/14. They had removed the $223.50 signing it off as patient dissatisfaction (SINCE THE TEETH ARE STILL IN MY MOUTH YES YOU COULD CALL ME DISSATISFIED). But they were not finished yet on this same bill is a charge for $711.75 for my permanent cast. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS OFFICE OR IS IT THE WHOLE COMPANY? The agreements I signed in June covered all cost, so how do this office think I am going to fall for this out and out theft by overcharging?

I came to Aspen Dental because they were the only dentist in my area that took my DMO insurance. I needed a couple fillings, wanted my teeth whitened and the main thing, I wanted a partial plate to allow me to smile again after losing several teeth to a long illness. One tooth was in front. I asked for a flexi-lite because I didn't want metal to show when I smiled. No one talked to me about other options or discussed with me the pros and cons of my choice. The fillings went ok, but everything about the partial was very wrong.

When they took the molds, the dental assistant wanted to redo the lower teeth mold but the dentist said no they were fine. A few days later I get a call that I have to come back so they can redo the lower teeth mold. Then I get the partial almost 6 weeks later and the dentist pushes it up into place even though I was telling her it hurt and she cut my gum! They adjusted the partial that day and said to take it home and try it for a few days. It was a week before I could even put it back in because my gums had to heal. I went back 3 times for adjustments over the next months and they never got it right. The partial always hurt and I could not chew or talk with it.

So I returned it and the dentist asks why I didn't do a bridge, which is basically a row of caps. I said "because I had never heard of it." She apologizes for not telling me about it and I set up two appointments, one for impressions and a second for the placement. It should be noted that every time I had to go to this dentist I had to lose time from work. I had surgery this year so I had no time accrued. I had to take time without pay. When I made the two appointments for the bridge, I asked how much the bridge would be and Carol said "It shouldn't be much difference. The office manager will call you and give you a price." I never heard from the office manager.

I made two calls the week before the appointment. I was put on terminal hold both times and never got to speak to anyone. The third time I called was the day of the appointment. Carol told me that I would have to come in to the appointment and the office manager would go over everything with me. When I get to the afternoon appointment after again taking time off of work, I'm told by Carol not the office manager, that it would be $1261 out of pocket! Needless to say I'm furious that I have wasted time and money (lost wages) and am still embarrassed to smile! If they had told me about the bridge in April, I could have used my Health Reimbursement Account to pay for it! Now, 6 months later, that money has been used up for health purchases like medicine and doctor co-pays so I could use up the money before I lost it.

Those smaller monthly amounts would have been much easier to handle over the months than putting it out all at once now. So I now have to wait until next year to get my teeth. But you can bet that I will NEVER go back to Aspen Dental even if I have to drive 50 miles to find a participating provider!

I didn't know what to expect, and they just shoved that pink crap halfway down my throat, without any explanation.

I'm now 5 days post extractions. I was told to wear my dentures without adhesive, but they just fall out of my mouth. Even with adhesive, it sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries to get them to stick. There's also a quarter inch gap between my upper palate and the denture. I called Aspen Dental to see if this was a normal issue. A simple yes or no would have been fine, but they just moved my appointment up without an answer. Appointment on Tuesday. Updates pending.

When the Dr injected the numbing medicine, he didn't wait long before drilling causing pain and sending me through the roof! Instead of removing the existing filling they just drilled out the back of the tooth and put in another filling. After several months and visits I saw their "specialist" to see If I needed a root canal, he said no to just have them pull out both filings in the tooth and put one full filling in. I went ahead with that. After having this filling done I had severe pain. I went back and he said it was too high, so he adjusted it. Still having severe pain they referred me to another dental office for a root canal because they don't do them at Aspen. After seeing another Dr he said my tooth was highly infected and that I did in fact need a root canal. He said the Aspen Dr had the filling sitting on the pulp of my tooth. Went to Aspen in Saginaw today to discuss the fact the crown will need to be replaced. Their response? It is your fault, the crown is over 18 months old (it is not, it was done in July, it is not Oct) and we cannot be responsible for this, however, since you are unhappy, we can redo this for free. Ok, I am a nurse, let's get real here. Who redoes work if it was done correctly the first time, especially on your tooth anatomy to make someone happy. I say they are negligent and liable. Hope to have my day in court/ins company with them. They are unethical. Very upset and should have known better.

Went to Aspen dental in College Station Texas for a toothache and to have tooth pulled. Appointment was @4pm. After an hour of waiting and watching people with appointment times after mine get called I inquired as to what the hold up was. Never received an answer, just "We will get to you soon." About 10 minutes later I got called back. Took x-rays and back to room to see dentist. Exam happens and I get told I need a list of things from fillings to root canal, crowns and bridge. 8K+ in dental work. All I want is the problem tooth pulled! Never got to actually discuss the extraction of said problem tooth with dentist.

Out the chair to talk to financial person..... Could not verify my insurance so we will give you cash price quote. Meanwhile the office manager comes to apologize for my wait and tells me that due to one of my family members coming in as a walk in emergency, that it pushed them back on appointment times. Well said family member had a 2:30 appointment.... My mother also had a appointment before mine the same day and she was told they never enter my information into the computer so that was why it took so long to see me... So which is it?

Not only did I leave there with my initial problem unresolved and extremely upset but in worse pain than when I went in. It is now the following Monday and I have teeth that were not hurting hurting me, jaw pain and a antibiotic that causes mouth pain as a side effect, and a pain pill I can not take because it has codine in it... Needless to say I have an appointment with another dentist elsewhere to have tooth pulled. Had to call to get copied of my x-ray and got the run around from the office manager and rude treatment. I strongly do not recommend anyone to aspen dental here or elsewhere after reading reviews. Had I known I would have never made the appointment.

I drove from Corinth Ms to Jackson Tn. They take a ton of X-Rays and stick something in between all my teeth. Go on to tell me that I have gum disease and have surgery to remove all my top teeth for a top plate. He said, "we don't put you to sleep but we'll dose you with some valium and lots of pain medicine." So I would need a prescription for this mouthwash to help try to get rid of the gum disease and mind you I had a bad toothache when arriving along with infection. I had to go then talk to the man who does the financing. He goes on to tell me it would be nearly 6000 dollars. Mind you I called prior to making my appointment that I had no dental insurance. And I heard they would do financing. Well of course he goes on to tell me that I wasn't approved.

Well I am a housekeeper at the hospital here. Just don't have 6000 dollars laying around. Drove all that way. Get told I am not approved and have gum disease and hurting and have infection but would not write me any prescriptions for the mouthwash for gum disease which I am losing bone that would eventually be able to hold a denture in my mouth. No antibiotics for the infection or pain medicine for the pain . Which even got worse after the several x-rays and sticking a sharp object in between each tooth and gum. They just had my hopes up that they would be able to work with me to make it where I could make payments.

From the second I set foot into Aspen Dental, everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. In May of 2013 I was on paid medical short term disability from work, when I was informed that my company had filled my position, and that I would be terminated after 12 more weeks of no-pay disability. I contacted Aspen to begin the process of removing my top teeth and acquiring dentures, which I needed badly, while I still had dental insurance. I went for an evaluation in early June and was informed that the entire procedure would cost me $600 out of pocket after insurance coverage.

It was imperative that this treatment was done before the end of June while I still had coverage. The appointment was set up on the June 28th, just under the gun, but when that day arrived Aspen called me and said that the dentist had an emergency and that he was going on vacation for two weeks. Now, with no insurance I was told by the office manager, that my new charges would be $2,700, but they would give me a special $1,000 Aspen discount.

After researching, I found a dental discount program that would save me quite a bit of money, but Aspen had their own company (Care Credit) and would enroll me in that (Why was I not told this earlier?). The new price was also $1,700, so I asked what happened to the $1,000 discount and was told I was now not eligible for that. After walking out, I received a call from them that they found a way to get me a discount of $500, which I accepted.

After the painful extraction and 2 weeks of incredibly ill fitting dentures, I returned and had them modified so that they were bearable. I went back for three relinings in the next year (with 2 more cancellations on their part) and did not get my permanent dentures until September of 2014. Then I was told that I owed an additional $384, which they waived after I threatened legal action. I was also told not to use adhesive for the first two weeks, but the dentures fall out without even chewing. I am not even going to go back there to have these fixed, as I have had enough of that place!!!

Prospective patients should recognize that Aspen Dental is not for everybody. It is a low cost operation that provides good service for simple dental problems. In my case it admitted that it could not one dental problem and referred me to a periodontist. My suggestion is that you be a smart consumer. Aspen provides good dental services for those who cannot otherwise afford them.

I saw an ad on Facebook showing a patient hugging an Aspen Dental dentist in gratitude. I made an appointment and apparently the "free" work is x-rays only while the office manager runs a credit check. After an exam of 2 to 3 minutes, the dentist said, "All your top teeth need to come out" with no indication of what was wrong with them and pushed into the financing room. I mentioned I only wanted one bad tooth removed and replaced on my bridge. “We can do that.” When I returned per instructions with my bridge, I was told “we can't do that.” Later I called the same office pretending to be a paying customer, “Can you replace one tooth on a bridge?” “Yes, no problem.” I heard several different excuses why they couldn't and when I was able to reach a manager at a high level, he was snarky-rude and accused me of "terrorizing" his poor gracious clinicians. The place is a joke run by shysters.

The very first appointment with Aspen Dental of North Charleston, SC was delayed by the company for two hours because there had been an over-booking on their schedule. I should have known that it would get worse, but my optimism prevailed over common sense, and I gritted my teeth and persevered. Over the course of the next several appointments I was informed that I was scheduled by 'mistake', the denture items had not arrived from headquarters, or some other excuse four times. In other words I was wasting my time driving to their facility. Meanwhile I was receiving reminder calls and threatening notifications that I had an appointment or I would suffer the consequences if I failed to appear for an appointment.

Meanwhile, my wife and I (we are both in our mid seventies) got a contractual estimate for the work necessary to fill our mouths with crowns and partial denture equipment. We made the mistake of paying for the entire contract upfront. Perhaps Aspen Dental makes much of its profits from its credit program because as soon as it got our money, we became second tier customers. Aspen felt free to reschedule, cancel or postpone at will. My wife finally got so fed up she paid the penalty and cancelled her part of the contract. I persevered.

I complained about my treatment (one of Aspen's fillings came out and had to be replaced with a much more expensive crown), cross scheduling (those times I went to Aspen but had to go back home without anything being done) and lack of progress. The business manager assured me that scheduling in the future would be handled better, and re-wrote my contract to reflect a $1137.60 credit to my account for my inconvenience and the filling replacement that was the fault of the company. I signed the new contract and persevered.

During the appointment for impressions to be taken, my dentist informed me that the partials I had asked for were not the best solution to my dental needs and that instead of the flex partial program I had bought, he suggested a more rigid one. He told me that if I'd agree to that the charges would be reduced by the difference, as rigid partials are less expensive than flex ones. He also asked if I thought we could order the partials direct instead of scheduling me for a pre-fitting. As I was very tired of dental work by then I agreed... thinking I would get even a larger discount since it would eliminate an appointment of two.

On my way out on the Aspen office that day, I was informed that the NEW office manager wished to see me. I thought she would tell me how much money I'd get back at the end of my contract...nope. I do not know the legal definition of 'Bait & Switch' swindling, however I do know when a used car salesman is shading my deal, and what the Aspen Dental office manager was doing was exactly that. She told me that the contract I had signed about the $1137.60 was not binding, but rather a courtesy, and that although the partials I was actually to get were less expensive and the appointment or two I'd miss was saving the company money, I was not going to receive any of those benefits. Then she asked me to sign a new contract absolving Aspen of those obligations. I no longer persevered.

I jumped to my feet, slammed my fist down on the desk and proceeded to tell her what I thought of being cheated. She dialed her phone and told me she was calling the police because I was placing her in fear. I went directly to the waiting room and sat down to wait for the police. Later, I asked one of the office personnel if the police were coming or could I leave. She informed me that I could go. Later that day my wife received a call from the North Charleston Police Department that I was no longer welcome at Aspen Dental, and that a restraining order had been filed to keep me from Aspen property. My wife has been contacting the Aspen office for several weeks to find out what is being done to either provide my teeth or refund my money, but so far to no avail.

I had a 2:00 pm appointment and got in at 2:40. Great job, very happy with hygienist. Had Insurance which was $40 for cleaning. They charged me $10. I told them that my insurance says my cost is $40, not $10. Lady rechecked computer and said it's only $10. I paid and left.

On 10/10/14 I received a collection letter from an attorney filed by Aspen. I contacted Humana, my insurance co. and asked if they paid a dental bill from Aspen. Claims agent said that they had no bill submitted. I called accounts in Lima, Oh. and spoke to a Terri. I told her that I received a letter from an attorney for collection of a $72 bill for services on 8/20/14, and that my Insurance co. hadn't received a bill nor did I. Why would you put an account in collections after 6 weeks? She had no answer. I told her that I had an appointment on 10/12/14 for a filling and would like to resolve this. She said that she would get the bill fixed.

I went in today for 2:00 appt. and waited for 55 minutes. I asked desk lady if I still had an appt. and she said yes. At 3:00 hygienist comes out and leads me to x-ray room. I asked why we’re there and she said that she was asked to appease me while I waited and she was going to x-ray my teeth. I just had an x-ray on 8/20/14. I really was ready to walk out. I told her that I didn't need appeasing. Then she asked why I was there. I said that I wanted a tooth filled while Ins was still active. She told me that my chart didn't state what procedure I wanted and just had appt. at 2:00. There wasn't time to fill a tooth.

She took me to her chair and looked at my tooth and called in a dentist who was just as nice as the Hygienist. She stated that she wasn't going to charge me, but another person interfered and took me to his office staying a $64 charge would be attached. I then voiced my problem from Friday to Monday and he just shook his head. No charges will applied. He would look into this incompetent office person and the problem created for me. Way too many Dental offices in my area to put up with this crap.

He tried to pack it, the packing came out. 18 month later and many visits, my husband still has a hole in the roof of his mouth. Packing comes out and gets infected regularly. His dentures don't fit although we paid over $3,000 for them and the work. The last time we went in they told us they were busy and couldn't form fit them and put in a soft liner. We had an appointment at 1 pm. They asked if we could come back at 5 because of complication that had arisen in their office earlier in the day. She has "strong" hard hands and there was a situation 2 years ago when she poked my other daughter's tongue and she needed prescription to numb the pain. So, yesterday... The minute Sarah sat on her chair to the time the cleaning was done, Carrie carried on talking and coming down on Sarah how she had bad home care, gums inflamed, gingivitis, teeth not aligned, small mouth etc.... She has the worst bedside manners.

When the male dentist came to check Sarah, Carrie continued to carry on in a negative way. It was a horrible experience for Sarah and she never want to go back to Aspen Dental. As a hygienist, she can do recommendations in a positive way. Her behavior was utterly rude and unprofessional. This is not the first time Carrie treated my family this way. Unfortunately, Carrie is the only hygienist at this location. This issue should be looked at and dealt with.

I made an appointment for June 24th, 2014 and brought my xrays from my local dentist. When the hygienist greeted me and wanted to start taking xrays I told her why I was there and had my xrays with me. We went down the hall to talk further. She said they did not have equipment any different than my dentist but could take a look. I said there was no need to waste their time or mine if they did not have any other type of machines so I left after this two minute conversation.

In August I received a bill for $110 for xrays and exam! Called their office and explained what happened and they agreed there was no charge and it would be corrected. Now in September I get another bill for the $110, call their office again and have to go through the whole process again because they have a "new office manager". No notes in the system or anything can be found from my previous call? We had the same problem when my son went for xrays and exam for wisdom teeth first visit and exam are advertised to be free but we were billed for this and had to get it correct after several attempts. Either they are that disorganized or this is intentional in hope that people and dental insurance companies are not paying attention and will pay them by mistake.

I did not get to see this partial before they pulled my teeth. I wasn't even given a mirror to see it in the office after it was put in. Now I know why. One of the teeth I had pulled is in the front and it looks like a rectangle of pink plastic with a tooth shaped white spot near the bottom. The teeth set in the partial are 1/2 the size of my natural teeth and two were set to high. None of my back teeth touch at all so chewing is impossible. Now I am stuck working as a receptionist in the public with this stupid looking mouth for weeks while they make me a new ones. Even the dentist who was helping with the fitting (a fill in dentist that I will never see again) said they had done poor work and reported it to the billing department and technicians.

Prior to this I had fillings done. The dentist that did my fillings had tons of hills and valleys on my teeth. Also, he forgot to put fillings in four of them!!! I had to point it out to him. I paid a fortune out of my own pocket for bleaching which did not work.

I will never recommend Aspen dental to anyone! Patients are put on a dental assembly-line never seeing the same person twice and they're not treated like patients or even people but rather an accounts receivable invoice.

I was not seen, and was told that my two fillings can be scheduled for the same date, which was 7/24. I took leave and went there 2 times without any satisfaction. I went there on 7/24, and had my two fillings done. I was given 2 injections on my lower right back gum for numbness. After about 2 to 3 days, I felt a little pain. I thought it was normal, and it would go away. Well, after about 5 days, on a Fri., I got up in the morning to brush my teeth, and could not open my mouth. It was very painful. On a scale from 1-10, it was a 10.

I had to leave to go to Tampa, FL. for the weekend. I could not open my mouth to eat, or chew anything. It was very painful, and still is on a scale from 1-10, it is a 6. I called from Tampa, and spoke to 2 persons about my problem, until I was able to talk to the doctor that did my procedure. She prescribed the antibiotic (Penicillin) to prevent infection, which she said that I can pick up at any Publix supermarket for free, and that she would like to see me when I get back to Gainesville.

I drank the penicillin for about 6 days, 1 every 6 hrs. There was no improvement. I went to see the doctor on 8/4. X-rays were taken and reviewed. My filling and around my gum was checked. She saw no problem. Was prescribed 800 mg of Motrin for the pain, which I paid at Walmart, because they did not want to pay for it. I took the Motrin for about 4 days, 1 every 6 hrs. There was no improvement, still had the pain. I called back again, and explained that my jaw was swollen, and I am not feeling well. The doctor told me to come in at a later time on the same day that I called, because an oral surgeon was there at the time, and he will be able to do a check-up.

After doing the check-up, he found no problem. He prescribed steroids (prednisone) which he stated that they would not pay for. I got the prescription rewritten by my primary care doctor at the Veterans Affairs hospital which I obtained. He was puzzled as to why steroids was prescribed. I took it for about 2 days. Well, what got me angry is that I received a bill yesterday for $65.60, which was for the X-ray taken on 8/7. I was never told that I had to pay for any additional exams due to their irresponsibility. I am still in pain. I called for them to explain the bill, but they were closed. They will open at 11 am, which at that time I will call again.

I hadn't been to the dentist in years but knew I needed dental work. My biggest problem was that I had broken teeth that needed extracted. I ignored this problem for many years because the teeth broken were not visible, meaning I could still smile and you not know I had broken teeth. So anyway at the time, Aspen Dental was flooding the tv with their commercials. The commercials seemed to be targeting people just like me. What I mean by that is someone who is too embarrassed to go to a Dentist and get their teeth taken care of. Aspen Dental commercials did give me the courage to at least go get their free consultation.

So I went to the free consultation and the staff were very nice. They made me feel like they really wanted to fix my broken teeth and I was completely sucked in. They told me everything that I needed done and sent me off to the finance area. I sat at a desk with some girl who looked fresh out of high school. The warm, fuzzy feeling I had quickly dissipated as we got down to the bottom line. She told me I needed 18k worth of work to restore my smile. Yes I said 18,000.00 dollars. Eighteen thousand dollars just to be clear. Instantly, I felt like all hope was lost and my teeth would continue to decay and break until I was looking like a drug addict.

But just as I was hitting bottom, she offered me financing at some ungodly rate with insane monthly payments for the rest of my life. At that moment, I understood what was happening. Aspen Dental runs a street hustle in which they lure you in, give you hope then let you down so that they can sucker you into applying for credit in order to pay for their "sell your soul to the devil" prices.

I of course passed and went to a dentist down the street. I paid less than 5,000 dollar for 3 extractions, a few fillings, a deep cleaning and a partial. My current dentist chuckled when I told him I had been to Aspen Dental. He said and I quote "I don't know where they get their prices!" I now go to the dentist regularly and I am very happy with my smile. I would not recommend Aspen Dental to anyone because they are inflating their price and putting hard working Americans in debt to pay them back.

First, I will say that I am a senior citizen who has had a complete financial implosion when the economy took a death dive in 2006. I recently (6 months ago) lost a bicuspid due to Sjogren's Syndrome-an autoimmune disease. I went to Aspen Dental to resolve the missing tooth issue. After my initial exam, I was led to the Finance/Business manager. I believe I was told that my mouth needed $8K of dental work. I said that was impossible, and the finance manager got me a loan approved for $2500 at $71 a month with a high interest rate. I was going to manage the $71 a month. We decided that my primary concern was getting a solution for the missing tooth, and the dentist recommended extracting 7 teeth total and doing a partial. Although I thought this was extreme, I agreed, and although I have always taken excellent care of my teeth, I had no dental work in about 5 years.

May 23, 2014 I had the extractions and a temporary partial placed in my mouth. After that visit, I went back once to have the plate checked and adjusted. A few weeks ago, I got a call that it was a good time to get started on my hygiene and teeth cleaning. I inquired about the cost, and was told it would be $90. When I said that was too much and I would wait a few weeks and call back to schedule, the person on the phone said they had a senior citizen discount, and my cost would be $9. I scheduled the appointment, and had to reschedule a couple of times, but went for the appointment this morning. When checking in, the individual at the front desk asked me for the $9, and I wrote a check. I also asked how much credit I had left on my original loan, and she said $700.

Next I was ushered into the hygienist's office and she just went to work on my teeth. About 2/3 of the way through the procedure, she said I had a bad infection in the gums and needed 5 individual doses of an antibiotic similar to tetracycline. Those doses were $75 each. I agreed, and she applied the medication. While I was sitting in the dental chair, I heard her advising 2 other patients that they needed similar medication. Shortly after she applied my antibiotics, I was ushered to the check out where I was asked how I wanted to take care of the additional $375+. When I replied that I still had $700 credit, she informed me that was all used up, and these were additional charges. The total was over $1000 for that visit.

She then became very patronizing, kept calling me Sweetie and said that I had misunderstood. I DON'T THINK SO. As I began to get more upset, she kept resorting to her list of my charges while highlighting some services. I was never told of the costs, except for the initial $9 and the $75 each for the 5 applications of the medication. She was very slick in her explanation, but I refused to accept this. As my voice began to get louder and tears came to my eyes, I said that I would need to call the local television consumer reporter. She immediately left her desk, and about 10 minutes later the finance manager appeared. She said she was going to "take care of it". I may be older, but I am not a pushover. I can see how possibly many many patients got "conned" in this manner. It was totally unprofessional and bordered on unethical, in my opinion.

I already knew I had gum disease so no surprise there. Completed all X-Rays and it was recommended that I have all bottom teeth extracted (8) but keep the eye teeth since they were ok then get a denture that would lock over the existing teeth. The top had 4 cavities and the 2 front teeth were extracted a year prior. I needed to have the teeth next to the 2 removed taken out as well. I wanted to start with the bottom teeth first and not do the top until I could eat with the bottom.

On July 3rd 2014 I had the lower extractions and they installed an immediate denture, no pain because I was numb. The next 24 hours were hell with pain and I finally removed them and did the rinsing with warm water etc but could never get lowers back in. It hurt to even try to start putting them in place. I kept going back every day as they aligned and grinned them down. Finally after all that and 2 soft liners there is no pain and I can eat with them well. Yesterday I had the other 2 top teeth extracted, had the cavities filled and the immediate partial installed. Only pain was from the drilling. The partial fits well and I have a follow up visit on Monday.

What I have found is you must be honest about pain and just keep going back every day if you have to, I paid a lot of money and I wanted them done right. So now I just wait for my permanent dentures. I had the work done at the Easton, Pa office and I never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen and the entire staff was great. I have uploaded a picture of how they look today. My best advice is don't give up, speak up and make them work at it until they fit pain free.....

I went to Aspen Dental about two weeks ago and was called back for some X-rays and a cleaning which is suppose to be done with the initial visit. I had my x-rays done but did not get the cleaning. The woman from the front said that I did not have no dental insurance. After that, I felt like was getting ignored by the whole dental staff. I am a veteran and would have expected a little bit more respect.

After this, I went with the acting financial advisor to discuss the bill and I was told there would be some sort of payment plan which there was not. We went through three finance companies and was denied. She even introduced me to Care Credit which I did have the card for but she said I did not have enough funds. I looked at the amount and it was over the maximum that I need to pay. This whole dilemma lasted close to two hours. I do believe that $4100 is a little outrageous for a major cleaning. I think that Aspen Dental should go out of business or hire qualified staff that knows exactly what they are actually doing.

I have a chipped tooth and gum problem, but no dental pain. Aspen has good reviews and a good BBB rating, so I chose them. They said I needed a crown and gum treatment after the x-ray and exam. I paid in full, which included a home care kit that I did not know about, or request. In the middle of the Gum treatment, while my mouth was numb, they asked me for $500 more. They keep pushing me, and felt I had no choice, so I agreed. The gum treatment wasn't correctly done. My gums are still bleeding after a month. I asked for my money back for the gum treatment. They gave me my money back. The build-up for the crown didn't cause pain during and after the procedure.

A week later, after they installed the temporary crown, I suffered over two weeks of pain. While all this is going on I had a headache, high blood pressure, and chest pain from tooth pain and stress. Finally I complained to customer service, so they said they'll do a root canal. They also gave me the $500 back. It took over a month to complete. My experience here was a nightmare. I need to see another dental but I'm so terrified.

The first time I met my dentist was on the second visit for a tooth extraction. Not people friendly, did not explain what he was going to do. Usually when I see a dentist for the first time, they introduce themselves and explain what they are going to do and why. He struggled for a long time extracting my tooth, slightly splitting my lower lip in the process. When I got home, there were two holes in my gums. When I went back the next day, I asked him if maybe he extracted two teeth instead of the one. He got very defensive and said xrays don't lie, he only extracted one tooth. Then he said this was a very serious accusation and he and his associates had already discussed my case and decided to dismiss me from the practice, not even explaining what he did. I went to another dentist the following day. This dentist took xrays and said that not only did Dr. ** do a very poor extraction but he also left the root too long and exposed. Now I need further surgery to cut out the exposed root. Why didn't Dr. ** explain this instead of brushing me off? I will never recommend Aspen Dental to anyone!

My first appointment was scheduled at 3:30 PM. At 4:10 PM, I was finally called back to receive my X-rays. The young girl that did my X-rays told me she was new and barely knew what she was doing. As a result, she shoved plastic pieces in my mouth and cut the inside of my cheek while she was doing it. Once she was done, I was sent back to the waiting room and told someone would be with me shortly. At 5:00 PM, I was called back to a small room and told the dentist would be with me soon. I sat for another 20 minutes and finally he arrived and checked my teeth. He determined I had a few cavities. I told him I knew I had one on one of my back teeth. He checked the tooth again and told me, "Thanks for pointing that out, you do have a cavity there."

I also told him I came there because my gums were hurting and causing me ear pain. He DIDN'T even look at my gums and told me I needed my teeth cleaned and that would help with the gums. Then he left. After about 15 minutes, I met with the financial adviser and told me how much I would owe to have my cavity repaired and my teeth cleaned. The cleaning was free because of my insurance. I was told I would need to reschedule to have my teeth cleaned and they are booked until the end of August! So I basically took off work to have X-rays and to be told how much something would cost! Aspen Dental is by far the worst medical provider I have ever been to! I will NEVER be going back there again. It was obvious the only thing they cared about was money!!!

Twenty-five minutes later the desk clerk saw me getting annoyed and said, "We haven't forgotten you." Twenty-five minutes later, I finally just got up and walked out. An hour and half is too long to wait for a scheduled appointment. I think the thing that irritated me the most is that people who came in after me kept getting called to go back for treatment while I sat and waited.

But the real kicker is that two days afterward, Aspen Dental had the nerve to charge my credit care account $2084.00! They hadn't done a thing except leave me sitting in their waiting room for an hour and a half, and they charged me $2084.00! I have filed several complaints with several sites, but that doesn't feel like enough. I want to make signs or go march in front of that place for the next two years warning people to stay away.

I saw the ads on TV and I thought Aspen Dental was legit. I had a one-piece crown that loosened and cracked and needed immediate repair. The Dentist was young, but very confident. Her recommendations were good & wrote up the work I'd need and then the office manager told me the price. Everyone there seemed friendly and willing to assist me through the very stressful process that involved one extraction and 8 crowns. I had no reason to suspect that Aspen Dental was anything but legit... The Dentist cleaned/prepped my existing preps and the assistants took impressions. It was during this visit, my second, that the Dentist realized she had made a mistake when counting the crowns. The original estimate was for $8,800, but she only counted 7 crowns & the one extraction. During this visit she realized there were actually 8 crowns...

She said that she could re-use my old one-piece crown and not have to put in temps and so that would be a wash... She asked me if that was OK. I had no problem with that... I left with my original one-piece crown that was cracked, but it worked. I returned to have the permanent crowns installed 5 days later. Before starting the procedure the office manager needed the second half of the payment. She had added over $1,000 dollars for the additional crown. I told her the Dentist did not install new temps and that that was a wash. She said "It says here in the report she did install 8 individual temporary crowns. I pointed to my mouth and showed her my old crown. She went in back and the Dentist came out and verified what I had said. I then paid the amount we had originally agreed upon.

After the financial was set, the Dentist removed my old one-piece crown & cleaned my preps. She then took the model out that had my 8 crowns sitting on it. She then began putting them on my preps for a dry run. When they were all on she told me to take a look in the hand-held mirror to see them. While looking at them the one far right fell off and began sliding down towards my throat. I gagged and reached for the crown thinking I'd choke on it. She told me to let her grab it and she did, but in the process she knocked the others off. Now she had to put them back on the model in the correct order. I asked her if they were numbered and she said "No, it's like a puzzle. I'll have to figure it out..." After she played with the crowns like she was playing 3-card monte, she said she had it.

I asked her "Are you sure?" She said yes... Then without hesitation she began gluing them in left to right. No adjustments, just push and hold. When she had all 8 installed I was told to bite down on several rolled-up gauze pads for 5-8 minutes. When I was done the assistant came in, removed the gauze and started cleaning them with a pick, the whole time telling me how great they looked... When she finished she started flossing and there were several spaces she could not get the floss in. The Dentist came over and grabbed a green piece of stronger floss and put incredible pressure on the floss and was able to get it in the spaces the assistant couldn't. I was NOT given a hand mirror to see the new crowns and the Dentist did NOT do a bite check to determine high spots, instead she started the numbing process to do the extraction...

The extraction went well and after the assistant stuffed gauze over the bleeding gums, I was told I could leave. That night, after the numbing wore off, I could feel a loose crown. When I looked in the mirror I could see one crown was crooked and did not fit in between the adjacent teeth. After looking at my old one-piece crown I realized the Dentist had mixed up at least two teeth when she dropped them... I called Aspen and they said they had only one appointment at 3:45. I took it. I was seated by the same assistant and the the Dentist came in. She was very defensive and asked "What is the problem?" I told her at least one crown is loose and crooked and that after looking at my old one-piece crown, I believe she mixed at least two of the crowns up & that's why they didn't fit... She grabbed the tooth and then looked at it and said "that's fine, it's not loose".

I immediately disagreed and said "it's crooked, it doesn't fit in between the adjacent teeth. It's loose and I believe you put the wrong teeth in these two slots". She got very feisty and told me she had them in the right spot or they would not have fit on the preps and that the tooth was NOT loose. I asked her why I can feel it move both with my tongue and fingers and that is plain to see it's crooked... I went on to say the assistant could not get floss through it... The Dentist continued to tell me it was fine. And then I told her to grab it with her thumb and index finger and she'd feel it move... When she did, she said "the one next to it moves too". She went on to say that the preps were small and that they move because of it... Then she said she wanted to see the bite and so she had me bite down on a thin plastic sheet (she did NOT do this after the crowns were installed) and proceeded to tell me the high spot was on the other side. That should have been fixed the day of the installation, before the extraction, but she NEVER did it!

I went home with an improper bite and still have it. I was getting nowhere and so I said "give me your boss's number and I'll call him. I heard he was a good Dentist and that he could take a look at..." All of a sudden the Dentist said "if you want I'll cut it out and have new one made". I said that it wasn't about "what I wanted, but that she had screwed up and had to fix it right. That the repair was on her, not me. That she had to be the one to make the decision to repair her work and I wasn't paying anything..." After a pause she said "I want you to be happy". I said "it's not about me being happy, it's about the job being done right." After another pause I said "give me the owner's number and I'll talk with him". Then she said she would cut off the crown in question, put on a temp and have a new one made. She said to set up an appointment for next week. This was on a Tuesday...

She left the cubicle and I said to the assistant "that tooth was crooked, didn't fit and you couldn't get floss in between it." She looked at me and said "I know..." Aspen Dental, in my opinion which is based on my experience, is a well-marketed chop-shop catering to folks who have poor dental health and limited funds, those who like me who think they can't afford a regular Dentist. Aspen Dental makes you think you can get quality dental care for affordable rates, but in the end it's less than sub-standard care at the going rate. I feel I was ripped-off and left with more problems than I had when I entered Aspen Dental's Office. I do not know how this will be resolved, but I do not want that Dentist putting her hands on my mouth again...

PLEASE seek a honest, competent dentist who owns the practice in which he works for something like implant care. Corporate chains simply cannot deliver the quality of care you need for a complicated case. In addition, they use the cheapest labs they can find, including some in China.

The first appointment was free and they took X-rays but told him he needed to return to see the specialist concerning implants. That cost $125. So not sure why he had to make 2 trips since they knew upfront what he wanted. We talked to the office manager who said the cost would probably be $5,000 to $7000 but she might be able to save us a little. So we paid and scheduled the return visit. The dentist said he only needed one implant. Next we were to see the office manager about cost. She went to lunch. No problem. We left and returned 45 minutes later as instructed. We waited an hour and 45 minutes. We told the receptionist we could not wait any longer.

Supposedly the office manager was with the same patient all of this time. The receptionist said the office manager would call us. A week later, we received a call from the receptionist saying the cost would be $8,000. There was no further explanation. If we had any idea it would cost this much, we would never have paid to return for the second visit. They just want to keep you coming back and paying more money. What a ripoff.

So her doctor's office submitted the form immediately but when she went back the next day to have the tooth pulled she was told that the dentist was going on vacation for two weeks. TWO WEEKS WITH EXTREME TOOTH PAIN AND I GUESS THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF THIS VACATION THE PRIOR DAY!

Another dentist in Butler took her in right away and extracted the tooth in a few minutes without the need for these special approval forms. Previously they made a bridge for my mother and put it in but apparently didn't remove the roots of the old teeth first, so now an oral surgeon has to correct that issue and make a new bridge. If you value your teeth, don't go to these HACKS!!!

I had a few loose teeth that was hanging in there.

I went to one private dentist. Very nice, very professional. He took X-rays and told me. We should try to save these four teeth and do partials. When I found out what it was going to cost. I told him I just couldn't afford it. He said, "We can do it a little at a time and work out a payment plan." I paid for the office visit and X-rays. I still couldn't afford.

I seen an ad for Aspen Dental. Free Exam and X-rays. So I made an appointment. By then my tooth had become abscessed. They were very pleasant, took X-rays. Told me all the teeth should be pulled because the others would get loose eventually, and I needed new top dentures. They handed me a chart of different dentures I could choose from a price guide. Of course they recommended the most expensive. They worked out a payment plan. I had to pay $1,200.00 down and set me up with a payment plan with Dental First Company.

To make a long story shorter. I went through the same thing everyone else has. I have top dentures that get loose as the day goes on and food get in. The bottom dentures. I wasn't able to wear without constant pain. I think I have made a dozen visits and I can wear my bottom dentures for a couple hours before they start hurting so bad I can't stand it. I still have yet been able to eat with them. It's been close to a year now and I can't wear my bottom dentures. I'm ready to go to the office and hand them back the dentures. I can't wear them. I still making payments. I have cried several times over it. I guess until I can save enough money to go else where, I'll have to continue eating soft foods.

So I called back and spoke to Mikey and he said that he would speak to the oral surgeon and see if he would waive the $156.00 or just change my appointment, but Mikey would call me and let me know either way.

By some miracle I was able get the money together to pay for my surgery, so called into Aspen and talked to Beth and I wanted to speak to Mikey but he was busy and I left a message with Beth that I would be able to keep my appointment with the oral surgeon and she told me that my payment of $156.00 was due today and that if I didn't pay then my appointment would be cancelled. I was never told that I had to pay earlier than May 1st and Beth said that when I made the appointment I should have had paperwork as well that was due today, but I made this appointment over the phone with Mikey so I was never told about any paperwork. She said, "Well, Mikey should have never made this appointment over the phone with you" (she was very rude) so I was asking why wasn't I made aware of this and she kept saying over and over, "We need that payment, I'll take that payment over phone." She kept interrupting me and saying that over and over.

So, I was willing to pay over the phone, but she said that they have already cancelled my appointment over the weekend. No one called me. No one sent me an email. Nothing. Every time I call Aspen Dental, when I talked to Mikey I get the help I need, but when I talk to Beth or anyone else in that office, I get rude, terse answers. I am seriously upset due to the fact that I lost my appointment. I was given wrong information and that I could have gotten way better customer service than I did with Beth.

Fraudulent charges and false diagnosis just to get more money than the insurance companies pay for routine visits! Very Sad!!

To be fair to Aspen Dental, I have to first say "A company is only as good as the people it employees." My experience with Aspen Dental started out very well. My first appointment for the free exam and X-rays was great. I was surprised that I had been able to get the financing I needed to cover the cost and the payments were affordable. When I had the appointment for the extractions, I was amazed at how well the dentist was at numbing my mouth. Less pain than I had ever experienced with other tooth extractions in the past.

I was so happy when I had the temporary dentures in and was finally able to feel good about myself when speaking with people, friends, family and strangers. I was singing the praises of this dentist to everyone telling them that if I had known I could get financing I would have had my teeth taken care of long before I did. The biggest problem at this time was the amount of pain I was having due to the multitude of bone spurs in my gums. Which mistakenly I was referring to them as fragments of tooth that had broken off during the extraction process. Now I knew there was going to be a certain amount of pain after having 16 teeth extracted at once and that in a few weeks once the healing process had begun the pain would lessen. However due to the multitude of bone spurs, the pain hadn't lessen at all. I was informed from the start that if I had any difficulties with the dentures and such - "No problem, just come back in and we will take care of it."

Well, I did go back and tried to explain to the dentist how much the shards of tooth/bone was hurting and he started to get upset at me. He stated that it couldn't be tooth pain because I no longer had teeth. So he ignored my complaint of how much pain I was still having. The next visit I had was to put the first liner in. This was done by the dental assistant. This is when the real nightmare began. The chemical taste of the lining was so strong and horrible. It made me sick to my stomach every time I put the dentures in. If I hadn't known better I would have thought I was being poisoned. I was told that that was not a normal complaint that not many people ever complained about the taste of the liner.

I returned again to the office again and was told there was nothing that could be done about the taste except to remove it. So as I was telling the dental assistant that I guess I would just try to deal with it. She proceeded to file it away as I had also said that there were rough edges due to the liner and could they be smooth out some. Well she filed so much of the liner away I now had to use way more than the recommended amount of dental paste to just hold the dentures in place and forget about eating with them. Between the pain of trying to learn to chew with them and the fact that after a few bites of food the bottom denture would come completely off and the top denture would loosen and shift enough to allow all the food to get under it which was very annoying and uncomfortable, I could hardly wait to get home and take the dentures out. Then trying to get the denture paste out of my mouth was next to impossible.

It would take over 30 minutes and trying different ways to get the paste out proved to be fruitless no matter what I tried. Every time I went back because of these problem, I was told nothing could be done. The chief complaint through all of this was the fact that my gums are so sore from the bone spurs. Each time I returned to the office, the dentist became more and more angry with me. Very condescending, curt and insulting to the point of having me in tears and very frustrated that I could not get him to understand the constant pain I was in from the bone spurs. Finally after several visits with no results, I was scheduled for an appointment to remove the bone spurs. That appointment was scheduled for over a week away and during that time I kept thinking about how angry the dentist had been with me.

I started to worry about having him digging in my mouth to remove the bone spurs that he kept telling me were not there. I had requested an X-ray in hopes that the fragments would show up and the dentist would be able to understand what my complaint of pain was due to... Well that backfired because of course there are no teeth left and the bone spurs did not show up on the X-ray. So I left the office in tears and frustrated that the dentist was so angry and insulting to me and I had failed to get him to understand me. I waited for a week and when the pain had finally became unbearable, I called the office again. This time I was given an appointment for the bone spurs to be removed. This appointment wasn't going to be until another week and a half which was okay.

During that time before the appointment I had started to become very worried and concerned that the dentist that had such a good way of giving the injections to numb my mouth so gently before may not be so gentle now that I had angered him with my concerns and questions about the products and procedures that Aspen Dental uses. I went to my appointment and when the dentist came into the room, he said, "Let's get you all numbed up." I stated that I would like to talk about it first. I was told by the dentist in a very angry way that "I heard it all before." He had gotten so angry at me that he had to leave the room for 5 minutes to gain his composure. While he was out of the room I was growing concerned that he would be digging aimlessly in my mouth because he would not be able to tell where the bones spurs located due to the fact they couldn't be seen on the X-ray.

I decided not to allow him to try to take them out. However, the second liner had been put in on the last visit and had very rough edges that were scratching the inside of my mouth. So I asked the dentist if he could file them so they were not so sharp. He started filing aimlessly and in my opinion did not care about how they would turn out. When he gave them to me to check the fit and see how they felt, there was no denture paste on them and I was having a hard time getting them to stay in place. It was hard to tell if they were any more comfortable. After about 15 seconds, I was told, "If it takes that long to be able to tell if they were feeling better something, something, something". I did not make out the whole comment but the dentist alluded that I was wasting too much of his time.

Upon that remark I took my dentures back stating that I knew I was not going to be able to get any satisfaction working with someone who was so unprofessional and rude. I know that I am not the only patient who has had a difficult time with this dentist from speaking to other patients in the waiting room and the fact that the staff who were great reassured me that I would be able to sign off on all work done before the permanent dentures were made. The office staff knows that this dentist has no patience with patients who complain or ask questions. I had made my next appointment before I left the office.

After thinking about it over Easter weekend, I called and asked if I could be scheduled with the other dentist in that office. That I no longer felt comfortable having that dentist work on me again. I was transferred to speak to the office manager who informed me that there was not another dentist working in that office. The end result is that I now have to go to another Aspen Dental office which is out of my way and I have to pass the office I was going to which was closer to my home to go to go to the new office. My next appointment isn't until May 1st. I hope the dentists in this new office has a much better attitude and better rapport with the patients. I think the dentist in the Brentwood, PA should go for anger management classes as well as classes in public relations. Unhappy and not smiling in Pittsburgh, PA because my temporary dentures are so ill-fitting and nasty tasting I can't even wear them. I can only hope the permanent ones are better.

Oh and they said she had over 15 cavities in her mouth. The girl was extremely rude once she found out she wasn't working. I will tell everybody about how rude Aspen Dental is. To top it off, they wouldn't give anything (prescription for antibiotics) for the infection or pain she was in. So don't know what she is going to do now... I went to ASPEN DENTAL looking to make my smile better. I had a broken tooth 3rd for the front so I wanted to see if it could be fixed. They told me it had to be pulled & a tooth on the other side had some decay but told me to get my teeth cleaned first. This tooth was constantly getting infected. They said to pull it & not to worry they can put a temporary tooth in until can get a bridge. Sounded easy. Waiting for my next appointment my cracked tooth completely broke & was hanging there. I tried calling the on call Dr. but there was none. I have no insurance & going to the ER wasn't really an option so I pulled it out myself. OUCH!! I went back to ASPEN & the dentist cut my entire gum because there might be some tooth left. But I had the tooth. You could clearly see there couldn't be that much left to go to that extreme of cutting my gums like that. I had no idea that's what she was doing.

Not only that she started chipping away at the tooth behind it because there was some decay. She chipped so much off that when the numbing shot wore of I wanted to die. The pain was unbearable. I called the office later & got transferred to their Dr. on call. The service told me they don't have a on call Dr. for that office. It was a Friday & they weren't back until Monday. I wake up with a very bad infection that was all over my gums. I can honestly say I've never felt pain like that. So I continue to try to find a Dr. on call for them but there just wasn't anybody.

On top of that I got an abscess. Monday I got a hold of the office & the office manager was so rude to me. She said I should of ask for antibiotics. This is just the half of it. I just want people to LOOK OUT if you go to ASPEN & the first thing they want to do is pull teeth instead of putting in effort to save your teeth. Look out for them trying to add a bunch of services you do not need too! I look awful. I'm constantly in pain & I wouldn't think of smiling. I don't have insurance like I said so I can't even go to another dentist to get fixed the mess they left me with.. I wouldn't wish this on anybody & like I said that's only half of it but it would be a book if I continued.. I haven't slept but a few hours between the pain & worrying about how I can fix this.

I want to share the horrible experience about clinic visit Aspen Dental to the address: 1401 North Veterans Parkway, Bloomington, IL 61704. We with the husband made six crowns in this clinic; three crowns were made by my husband and three crowns were made by me. After the first installations of my three crowns, I noticed that on one of them during a touch tongue, I feel a sharp edge on a back wall of a crown and an interval between a crown and the ground-off tooth. In couple of days I arrived to office of clinic and told about it to the attending physician Dr. **.

The doctor checked the tooth and told that will remake a crown. At a touch of the metal tool the big gap was felt at once, and my ground-off tooth was very sensitive. Without anesthetic. They then created a new temporary crown, and scheduled the next visit. In the following visit, during installation of the new permanent crown (i.e. for the second time), I felt the same gap between a new crown and my tooth about what I reported to the doctor. The doctor began to assure me that everything is all right, and has to be, it is simply unusual form of a crown. I believed the doctor about possibility of an unusual form, and agreed to put on cement. On the same day, having stayed some time of the house, I understood that I have again the same problem. Tongue began to feel a gap between a crown and the ground-off tooth. This gap didn't disappear and when eating, the food is being caught between a crown and tooth.

On the same day we went to office of clinic and told about the same problem. The doctor told that I intentionally do something with crowns as for the first time, and in the second, and blamed me for the issue. After such answer I still had very unpleasant impression about visit. According to the doctor: I intended to do something with crowns and cause such problem which is a downright LIE. We paid and we just wanted to get the service we paid for. Despite everything, the doctor checked tooth and made sure of gap was present, and also agreed to remake the crown for the third time and appointed the next visit!!

While at the house with my husband made a photo of my crowns from the inside of teeth using a high definition camera Nikon 3200, to see a problem which I constantly feel. We did this so I could help explain what I was experiencing as I do not speak good English. When reviewing the images we noticed that there was one more gap with one of the other crowns they installed. The same issue. And the dentist said that everything looked good.

We took the images printed on photo paper to the next appointment. The husband showed photos that the doctor so she could see my problem on back walls of crowns, and I told her that it is necessary to remake two crowns as on both there are gaps. The doctor having seen a picture told us that after clients start taking the picture as proof of nonprofessional work… she doesn't wish to deal with us more (in a rude yelling voice). Additionally stopped working with us and told us to leave the practice.

After that we still talked to the administrator for that clinic and we asked for the clinic to provide us other expert and remake these two crowns. We told them that we don't agree with such unprofessionalism. We explained that we would now have to find a new dentist and have them fix the crowns. And we don't know when the money will be refunded to us. The secretary answered that they will return money to insurance company and will send the check to us on mail, but according to her, it will take months. I asked, “How many money is required on correction of your mistakes in other clinic" on what answered me, “we don't know.” T.E. actually to me was cut by three teeth under crowns, and established three crowns one of which is established successfully, and others two with gaps between crowns and the ground-off teeth. These gaps cause caries (cavities) further because when eating, the food there is pushed under the crown.

The issues here now are finding a dentist who will agree to remake these crowns, how long it will take, and we will have to pay a second time for the money that we have already paid Aspen Dental to get these crowns in the first place. What is even worse is that while we were in the office talking calmly with the administrator, the female dentist called the police on us. On Paying Clients. We paid them $6,509.00 for services and yet we got this kind of treatment and we got extremely poor results. Poor service, ridiculed, and the police called on us. We had conversations with the corporate offices of this clinic, trying to discuss with them options of getting what we paid for. All attempts at working with Aspen Dental have failed. As evidence to this, we have the HD close up images of these damaged crown installations and copies of all bills, payments and documentation.

I later saw it on the bill for $180 and they sell them in the office for a discount of $129. Two other people I talked with also need $3000 of work. It's the magic amount.

I made the HUGE mistake of taking my dental business to Aspen Dental, West Melbourne FL, last year 06/2013. The dentist was completely incompetent, in my opinion, and I have had many, dental procedures in my life. In June of 2013, I went to Aspen Dental in West Melbourne FL. I needed to have 6 teeth pulled and a partial denture made and installed. I went to multiple appointments, for impressions, and finally when the time came to have the extractions, the dentist was only able to pull 1 tooth and informed me I would have to go to a oral surgeon to have the extractions completed. This I could understand.

I returned approx. 2 weeks later to have a TEMPORARY partial denture installed, that according to the dentist I would have to wear for 6 months, then they would make me a permanent partial denture. I never returned to Aspen Dental to have the permanent partial done. I was completely turned off by their practices and lack of planning for my procedures. I went to a new dentist this year to have my permanent denture constructed. When the new dentist tried to file a claim with my insurance, it was denied, based on the fact that they had paid Aspen Dental for a permanent partial denture, the year before.

I NEVER received a permanent denture from Aspen Dental. I went to Aspen Dental in person to address this issue, per instructions from my insurance company. This office no longer employs the dentist, or office manager that were there when I had my work done. I spoke with the new office manager. She informed me that she would be happy to speak with the district manager about my situation on the following Tuesday, and get back with me. I waited until Tuesday afternoon and contacted her again. She inquired as to whether the partial I had received from them had any metal in it. I explained that it did NOT and that there is absolutely no doubt that this piece is a TEMPORARY partial denture.

The office manager attempted to tell me that when billed to the insurance company, the same codes for a temporary and permanent partial are used, and that the billing was accurate. I had to enlist the help of my insurance company to fight the battle for me. The agent from my dental insurance called the office manager and finally corrected her on the codes for temporary vs. permanent. The office manager finally agreed that they had billed incorrectly and agreed to send a retraction (on the ins. company recorded line). After a week of no action from the office manager at Aspen, I called corporate headquarters to address the issue. I have waited over a week since I called the HQ of Aspen Dental, for ANY sort of response, and I have heard NOTHING.

My insurance company has had to refer the matter to the fraud department of the company to try to resolve the issue. When informed that this was happening, the office manager of Aspen Dental, West Melbourne FL, agreed to have a retraction in their office the same day. A week later, they still have not complied. I had one of the worst dental experiences of my life at Aspen Dental West Melbourne FL, and I thought it was over when I stopped going to this company, but a year later, I am still paying for the mistake of giving Aspen Dental my business. They REFUSE to correct a situation they have already admitted they were wrong in, and will not contact me back regarding my complaint to the headquarters. This is a very deceitful company and they will not help you in any way if they make a mistake!!

I need dental extractions and fitting of a denture. I was attracted to Aspen Dental because of the advertisement for rapid turnaround and made an appointment for the initial consultation. In the end, I decided not to pursue treatment at Aspen Dental because of their financial terms, and after reading a series of online complaints, I feel lucky I came to that decision. My initial appointment was scheduled at the Keene, NH office on a Monday morning. The wait time was short, but during the wait my wife and I observed two patients walk in with significant denture-related issues. The first was a woman who was complaining of pain, ulcerated sores, and an ill-fitting immediate denture.

She was one week post-extractions, irate, wanted her money back, and cautioned us to check the internet for complaints about Aspen Dental. The second was a man who was complaining about continued significant issues with the fit of his dentures. I then met with the dentist and dental assistant who explained the process of tooth extraction and denture fitting, a process expected to take approximately six months. Both the dentist and dental assistant were professional and took the time to address my questions. Next I met with the office manager who explained the grades of denture and payment plans available. Fifty percent of the total cost was payable upon initiation of treatment and 50% upon fitting of the immediate denture. Cost included all follow-up. I felt uncomfortable about paying in full, long before fitting of the permanent denture, and asked if the final payment could be postponed until completion of the denture process.

I was told that postponement of final payment was not possible, but that the dentures were fully guaranteed. Given the two patients I observed who were very dissatisfied, I was not comfortable making the appointment for initiation of treatment and left the office. However, I did feel comfortable with the professional staff and a few days later decided to make another appointment. I decided I would not undergo any procedures or pursue further treatment if I could not negotiate withholding final payment until the denture process was completed. Prior to undergoing any procedures, I asked to meet with the office manager. Again I was told that the payment plan could not be changed. No negotiation was possible. I feel this policy is unreasonable and chose not to pursue treatment. I caution others not to pay 100% before completion of treatment and not to be misled by TV advertising.

I paid them $4200 for top dentures and a bottom partial and needed 1 tooth pulled. After getting my denture and what they called a healing partial both of them did not fit at all. I went back at least 15 times while they tried to fix them so I could wear them. They were trying to get me to take a refund but I wanted them to get them to work for me. They did get the top to fit in my mouth but it would not stay in, were loose and hurt. The bottom partial was a joke. I could never wear it.

Finally after at least 15 visits I had enough and decided to take the refund. They wanted to give me only $2200. I went to the office to talk with them and they agreed to give me a $2500. So it cost me $900 to have a tooth pulled. These places need to be shut down. Corporate dentistry rip-offs stealing money from hard working people.

I thought I go to Aspen Dental to get a second opinion and was excited by the free consultation.

Never Again!!! The dentist berated me, she told that I had destroyed my teeth and that a couple of molars would need root canals. The hygienist was very condescending. Feeling terrible, I sat with one of their account reps for the Care Credit. I would either need. 7,000 or 13,000 dollars worth of work done depending what treatment plan I chose. Not having any children, my credit is the closet thing I have to a baby and wasn't about to throw it out with the bath water even if my chances of being approved were pretty good. I thought better of it and deciding to stick the community health center and not just for financial reasons. The dentists there, unlike at ASPEN or is it Asp (jk), look to fix the problem not humiliate you.

Word to the wise, just because a dentist is for profit doesn't mean they're better than the dentist at the health center. In fact, my dentist went to the University of Detroit Mercy which has very high acceptance standards. Aspen Dental, like a lot of businesses, don't care about your financial health and it is nothing for them to submit an application for approval. I called them and said I have so much pain I have not eaten for 4 days. Not concerned about it so I am not concerned to give them my disability money!!!!! I do not want to get a lawsuit in the end.

    Thanks for your vote!
