I had an abscess in my top right gum. My youngest daughter and son in law had previous service, swore it was professional, caring, and pain free. So I call and got an appointment for the next day, 8 am sharp (Website said they were open till 7pm M-Sat). Show up 8 am sharp and download and print paperwork and fill it out and bring it with you. I did, arrived at 7:50 am, finished paperwork in hand. I'm second person there, then a third person arrived. Ok little after 8 they call the first guy back. A few minutes later they call in the lady that arrived after me. Mind you she walked just fine and was normal acting. 8:30 comes, I'm still sitting. My husband had came with me and I asked him "how much longer should we continue to sit?" He said "not much longer." I said "if nothing by 8:45 I'm out."

I'm sitting in a chair where I can see through glass door the little hallway where xray was and the financial desk. I watch the xray tech with gloves on, come in and out, and pushing the xray button then wiping her nose with back of right glove. She gets the kids done and back to consult area. I watch her sanitize her hands then the room and button, then I get called back. Told my husband to wash hands as I don't want her touching me if she wipes her nose or mouth. I have severe copd and a cold can kill me.

We get done with xrays and takes us back to consult area, I see her sanitize her hands. Dr. Comes waltzing in and starts talking about problems. She sees they need to be fixed, gave me 2 options, and by the way 2 teeth are causing the infection and need to come out. I have always been given antibiotics and made appointments for next week in the past, but ok. I get taken to financial desk. They hand me one estimate for the second scenario that was suggested. I see an oral b toothbrush charge for $135, not covered by insurance on there. They said I couldn't get partials and extractions and do antibiotic treatments and deep cleaning without agreeing to buy the toothbrush.

I asked where other scenario that was discussed was. They said they didn't write it up. I said "oh well I'm not committing to any future treatments. Let's talk about today. My part. 2 teeth extractions." "$75. We need that up front." Dr. Walks by and says "I can do those today. Just sit out in waiting area and I will get you when it's time." During my time in consult area, in the chair there was a tv pointed towards tech desk at foot of exam chair. No one ever said "find something to watch and relax". They have dental lab there and the place was permeated with drills, hammering and little saw sounds. Not comforting. As I am sitting there waiting for my procedure, I see lady that came in after me come up from a treatment area, her daughter having to steady her and walk beside her, and open the bathroom door for her because she was too shaky. She was fine going back and fine sitting in waiting room.

Finally my turn. I get called back. Assistant has me sign consents, then leaves. Dr. come in and says "we need to start", gets assist and I get swabbed with stuff. Procedure table left flat. I sit up anyway. Dr. Comes in, says it's time for ** or whatever, injects it, leaves me flat. Again I sit up. I have had braces, oral surgery, past tooth extractions, fillings and root canal in past. I was never left flat. There's a tv over end of table, remote on ledge on wall. No one says a word. In dr. comes. Gums still not numb. Another round of injections. This time I'm starting to feel funny, I'm left flat again. Again I sit up. I'm all alone. I started feeling dizzy, heart pounding.

Good thing I'm a nurse for 30 years. Knew it was rare reaction to the ** in the injections. If I just sit here and concentrate on breathing I will be ok. Tech comes back, never looked my way. Said "I gotta go to bathroom." Ok she lets me. I see my daughter that had showed up during xray. She comes with my purse. I need my inhaler, go do my business in bathroom, do a puff, get up. That's when the tremors hit. My dr said I was whiter than normal.

I explained "I have the epi shakes. It will be over in a few minutes." We go back to the room, dr comes in. It's time to lie flat for another injection. I said "I'm having a reaction to the **. Please no more." She says "ok" and gives me something else and insist I lay flat. I said "I can breathe better sitting up", then my daughter chimes in, telling her I'm having ** reaction, let me sit up. "Wheres emergency oxygen, she's copd and you need to get ready to help my momma out." Was informed they don't have oxygen in the premises. "I just need to lie flat and breathe deep. We need to get this done now."

They finally at my daughters insistence take my blood pressure with a wrist cuff that said my heart rate and bp was too high. My sats came up from 85% to 97, finally. I said "ok I will lay back now." Instead of poking at my gums, she gets pliers, wrapped around one or the 2 teeth and starts to twist, and I'm positive by that time an ** word and an ** word came out, because I'm not numb on back side of gum. That hurt. My dtr had to hold my legs down because I was kicking. Dr finally gave up, said "shes just leaving with antibiotics. Reschedule her for monday."

During one of my sitting up episodes, I was going to get tv remote, but happened to look in the floor at end of chair and lo and behold there's dried blood drops in floor. Floor filthy. I sat back upright and look around. Fine coat of white dust is thick on chrome parts of the stools in there. Never once saw the asst or dr wash or sanitize their hands. I got what I needed anyway, antibiotic therapy, but I will NOT go back there for anything. That lady I saw earlier, was having same problem, epi reaction. I didn't have dental anxiety in the past, but I sure do now. My insurance company was appalled I had to pay up front. Oh and hours on clinic are 730-5:30 Mon-Thurs, 8-1 on friday, closed on Saturdays except for special days.

These people tried to get me to commit for future treatment, before I even had initial problem taken care of. Infection control doesn't exist. And because of chances or epi reactions when they start the administration procedures, the patient isn't supposed to be left unattended, and a set of vital signs should have been taken prior to beginning. During a reaction, the patient isn't supposed to be left lying flat unless they start having seizures. They are supposed to be sat upright, and emergency oxygen should be available in settings where anesthesia is being done. Aspen Dental doesn't have that. Stay away.

Scheduled for a check-up and teeth cleaning. Was quoted over $1300 for 2 cleanings. No cavities, just one regular cleaning and one requiring a bit more work. I went to my old dentist and was quoted less than $300 with no insurance for both. They push no fee credit... probably because they are sooooo outlandishly expensive.

I drove to Texas, from Kansas to get my upper denture, as my sister was so very pleased with the newest lightweight denture material used for hers. I was able to visit and stay with her when I came down to get mine. I also purchased the top of the line denture, with a guarantee/warranty of 7 years. After about 6 months I lost one of the teeth. I called Aspen Dental in Tyler, TX, to see what they suggested that I do about it. They said to super glue it. After researching myself, I decided to go with the powder instead of super glue. It is still fine today. I came back to have my denture adjusted as they seemed to be slipping. When I went to see them, they told me the teeth were wearing because I grind my teeth at night, and I should not be wearing them at night.

I am 63 years old and have NOT once been told that I grind my teeth at night. The dentist said that the tooth that I repaired looked great and they wouldn't do anything about that. They would line them but it would cost me 48+ dollars. I have never heard of the teeth in dentures wearing down. I never had this problem with the prior two upper dentures I have had, prior to getting this one in July of 2015.

I don't understand what this guarantee/warranty is about, since no matter what is wrong with them, they say it is something you are doing wrong. For an upper plate that costs ~1000.00, the teeth themselves should not be wearing down. I walked out and told them I will find a dentist that will get me a denture that will fit and NOT wear down the teeth. I am totally frustrated with Aspen Dental. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to Aspen Dental for anything. I believe their high dollar denture is a scam... A great way for them to make a lot of money on a denture plate for a few hours worth of work.

Went to one of the Boston Area offices for a checkup. They said I needed a deep cleaning and wanted to charge me $3k. Went to another local dentist for a 2nd opinion. Checked out just fine. I did not need the "deep cleaning". Aspen clearly wanted to rip me off. $3k is way too much anyway. Insurance would have covered about $1k, leaving me to pay about $2k. The 2nd dentist said the procedure should have been about $1k anyway (even if I did need the "deep cleaning"). Don't go to chains like Aspen and others that rely on strictly numbers just so they can make money. This goes for all industries. Most likely, you will just get ripped off. Always get a 2nd opinion.

October 2015 I scheduled a first time session through the online for getting an opinion from the Aspen Dental in their Central Ave., Albany office. I waited almost an hour and then when I went in I told that I need to have a second opinion and I already had an X-ray from a different dentist. The examining dentist tried to scare me stating that before I will turn 50 I won't have any teeth etc. Then told me to get the X-ray from the previous dentist and I did through my cell phone. That so-called dentist did not do anything and later they sent me a bill for $128.00 even got partial reimbursement from my dental insurance. I refused to pay and they constantly mailed me bill and recently they pass their harassment to a collection agency for that amount. As a young adult I need to have decent credit history to navigate so I had to pay for that amount without receiving any services!! This is malpractice and extortion. I need to know how to handle this exploitation.

In October 2016 I had new dentures made. I was told to come back for adjustment in a few days. It took two weeks to get an appointment. After this appointment I was told to return in a week but I was unable to get any appointment for five weeks. When I called to complain I was told that any further adjustment appointment would be in excess of two months. This is ridiculous. I have had my denture for almost two months and have had only two meals without extreme pain. If I could I would go elsewhere.

New to the area. Needed to get my teeth clean, so I made app with Aspen Dental in thomaston. The dental xray and exam were no charge. There was one sm cavity. I also needed a deep cleaning and scraping below the gum line. There would be 3 appointments 2 at 60 to 90 min each. One in 3 month follow up. Pretty sure there would be additional charges at that time. (Two years ago I had a deep cleaning at my old dentist, took about 50 min. Also they used antibiotic in the treatments. Total cost at that deep cleaning 125.00.)

After the exam I met with the officer manager. I was numb when she estimate the total cost at 1845.00. Then the pressure was on. She wanted 60 percent down 1150 00 rest on second app. 700.00. Never had to pay up front before. Wow. When I complain she lower it to 400.00 down payment. To be honest I felt like I was buying a used car. After looking at all the reviews online their only interest in is charging as much as they can. Whatever happened to good old honest business ethics? Disappointed.

Everybody was very kind, and very attentive to everything I had to say. I would highly recommend this office to everybody I know, and have never said that about any dentist office I have ever been to before. There isn't enough praise for this office.

I paid $100 for the bridge glue in, and the Dentist sad she could easily replace the filling that came out. The space had no decay, just make an appointment. I told Aspen the bridge felt like a rock in my mouth and was told to keep biting pressure on it. The bridge came out with the first chew after 4 hours. I went back in a couple of days later with the identical results. I bought temporary dental filling material from Walgreen's and have had no more problem with the bridge. I called to make an appointment to have the filling repaired and after detailed explanation of the previous filling evaluation appointment. After three phone waiting periods, I was told I have to come in and pay for a second evaluation of the replacement filling. Aspen looks for ways to try to screw over customers.

First of all the reason it's a star because this site requires you to put something. If it was up to me it would not me a star at all! This is the worst office ever!! First they started with me, after having an appointment they lost my SSN and chart. They put it with someone else's chart. I needed 4 teeth taken out because I was in pain, and no one bothered to call me to schedule the appt after my visit when they said that they would. I Waited for 2 weeks until I could not take the pain anymore. When I called they had no clue who I was and asked for my SSN several times again. Finally they got it straighten out and I tried trusting them again, what a BIG mistake.

I schedule an appt for my 6 year old and had to reschedule her appt because she was ill on the day of the appt. On the next appt I got to the office with my paperwork already filled out for her so that it would not be any issues. After waiting an HOUR they told me that "They don't see kids". They could have told me that prior to driving through traffic to get there. Horrible!! I called my brother which is a manager at another Aspen Dental. He called them and they finally called to apologize. The office did not care what they did to me!!!! I would NEVER tell ANYONE ANYTHING positive about this place.

Do not go to these people. They hike up the prices and lied to me concerning my teeth. Told by the hygienist that I could purchase their toothbrush and toothpaste for people with gingivitis / periodontal disease, and then not allowed to. I left, and then they forgot. I called them back and they told me I could not purchase it unless I had my teeth cleaned with their special gum cleaning process which for one side was 368. I believe my insurance pays for 80 percent. I had gotten this done before somewhere else for a lot less money. They told me that my gums were infected as well as some of my teeth and they would not give me an antibiotic.

They gave me a price of over 150000 and with our insurance it was around 7500. I told them I could not do it at this time, and all of the sudden they became extremely insensitive. The Attorney General in some states has sued these people. You can see it online. If I had known this I would not have gone there. They do the old bait-and-switch method, in Ohio I know this is illegal, but in Florida I have no idea. Moving on from here.

I was having severe problems with my teeth. I had a broken tooth and decided that I was going to have them all pulled and get dentures. I went into a Vancouver, WA office and had an evaluation. I was given an estimate of $13,000. That included extraction of all my teeth, two surgeries (which I was billed for and not explained) and full upper and lower dentures. I got home and looked up on the internet the two surgeries. One was to detach the little flap of skin that attaches the upper lip to your gum and the second was to reshape the bone on my upper gum. Very invasive and expensive.

I went and got two other opinions. One dentist would not do a complete extraction and set of dentures because they thought my teeth could be saved. Probably thought they could make more money on the treatments. They said that even if they would pull all my teeth, the recommended surgeries from Aspen Dental were not needed. I then went to the third dentist. I actually had him do all the work. I had all (32) teeth pulled, dentures made, and 6 soft relines done for $5800.00. The surgeries. The surgeries. He said that they were not necessary and that most dentist will bill and charge you for them and not even do them. They just list them on the billing not expecting someone to actually check and see what it is. I'm sorry about all the bad experiences I've read about from patients of Aspen Dental. I guess I'm lucky I had 2nd and 3rd evaluations. It was worth the money since I saved almost $7000.00 not going to Aspen.

I started being seen for dentures in January 2016. At first things seemed to be going okay. But then I was made to wait hours for the appointment. Then once the appointment started was only seen for minutes... Then during an appointment a young technician messed up my temporary dentures and for 8 weeks afterwards I complained about this and no one seemed to care. Then a new dentist started at this practice and she promised me that she would fix the temporary dentures and started to make the permanent dentures.

This dentist only saw me for roughly 30 minutes during my six months of care at Aspen. And during my last appointment when they did not have the supplies to fix my temporary dentures, she treated me as if I had done something wrong because I was complaining about my care. She then began to chastise me like I was a child and then brought the office manager into my appointment saying I was being rude and she did not feel comfortable alone with me even though my wife was present and she was rude to her also. Then when I contacted Aspen Patient Satisfaction number to complain about my treatment, I was informed at this time that this dentist who again only saw me for 30 minutes of my six month care at Aspen had discharged me from services because she was afraid of me and deaminized me as if I was the bad guy.

And because of this she voided my contract and now I have ill fitting permanent dentures that hurt me everyday and because of her discharging me I am no longer allowed to see any dentist within the Aspen organization and voided my 7 year warranty on my dentures. I am in the process of hiring a lawyer for breach of contract and poor medical ethics. Contacting Aspen was a joke. They are allowing this dentist to do this and I have no rights as a patient. I entered the contract with Aspen and not Dr. **. All I did was complain about the indifference I was treated with and did not blame this dentist for my treatment. So if you are in need of getting a pair dentures you may want to think twice about going to the Aspen Dental Organization.

What began as a positive experience just became progressively worse. Last Spring, I developed an abscess tooth. I was happy that Aspen would see me the same day. I went in, had an exam, and was talked into a root canal and crown. I was given a reasonable price and a date for the procedure. I signed an agreement to pay approximately $1,200, after insurance, for the WHOLE process. I asked several times, if I would owe anymore, and was told no. Well... when I went to have the root canal done, this other dentist wasn't sure if the tooth needed a root canal but talked me into it for preventative reasons. Then came the temporary crown that fell out as soon as I got home. While fitting me for the crown, the dentist shaved the enamel down on the healthy adjacent tooth, which I didn't know about until I went to a new dentist. How could the new dentist see this? BECAUSE the "permanent" crown broke within the first week!

They did offer to replace it for free, but there was NO WAY I was going through that process at Aspen again. A few weeks later, I received a separate bill for over $800 for money they said insurance would cover but didn't. I think it is a scam. They had this $800 listed on the original agreement as an "insurance benefit," as opposed to "insurance discount." Never once did they tell me that that $800 was not guaranteed. If I had known that this less than satisfactory experience would have cost me over $2,000, I NEVER would have gotten it without a 2nd opinion. Made an appointment for hygiene only, at the time the front person tells me that my insurance didn't cover fluoride tx and that I have to pay $45.00, at this I told her I only wanted a cleaning. They completely ignore what I wanted. Did X-rays and periodontal. Whole nine yards. I paid for it anyways but was not pleased at all.

Finally I was in need of an implant and call their Foley, Alabama office since they don't have that service in Pensacola, FL. I told them I needed an appointment after 10 am. Wanted make sure I was able to keep the appointment since from where I live is an hour drive. Called four times. Every time they gave me the runaround. Wanted me to pay upfront $117.00 for consult but could not assured me the time of the appointment, I asked to speak with the manager. Got the same treatment, I told her money was not an issue. I could pay with a credit card for the consult but she kept insisting that she could not do it. That I need to go their office which is an hour away just to pay for an appointment consult.

Both person at the Pensacola, FL and manager at Foley, Alabama were very rude and unprofessional. When you need to address an issue they will not let you finish and talk over you which is very rude, disrespectful. I finally had enough. They are clearly an dishonest investment firm not an affordable dental care place. I advice anyone looking for services to check the reviews on this practice before getting services with this investing firm. That's what I should've done first.

The last time I was told there was nothing more they could do. The dentures did not fit and made my mouth and gums sore. I filed a complaint with the local BBB. BBB informed me Aspen Dental did not respond to the complaint. Aspen Dental advertises a 100% money back guarantee. I paid Aspen Dental $3000.00 and am back to wearing my old dentures. Encountered the most rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional experience at Aspen Dental Care located in Farmington, Missouri beginning in August thru September 2016. The dentist, Juan **, DDS, spoke in the rudest and disrespectful manner without just cause while in the dental chair. Prior to this, inquired with receptionist about waiting almost one hour beyond scheduled appointment. Hearing that dentist accepted another walk-in patient without appt. At the initial visit with office manager, recognized an effort to to have me pay an amount above the Careington Dental Discount Plan.

When pointed out that I had the Plan's procedure amounts/codes, she offered a lower amount. What I can recommend is, Buyer Beware...this business is unlike anything seen after 40 years of dental care history with others. Filed complaint with Aspen Dental corporate. Not seeing that Aspen Dental will not post any unfavorable patient reviews on their internet website...makes me wonder now who is actually writing all these glowing reviews. Beware folks.

Due to radiation treatments my teeth started to fail rapidly and dramatically. I had 4 teeth break off at the gum line. At the time it looked pretty bad for our hero, I was being advised to “get my affairs in order” as my condition was terminal. So I figured why bother fixing my teeth as I was told I had 6 months tops to live. Fast forward 4 years the lymphoma treated and was now “indolent” and I probably had many years left.

By now most of my teeth were either broken off at the gum line or sheets of my tooth enamel were shearing off. I am 100% disabled, my wife is sick and money is tight. My wife said even if we have to borrow $$ to get the dental work done it had to be dealt with. I had one wisdom tooth that was surrounded by a huge cyst. If it ruptured and septicemia set in it would be fatal. I provide this narrative to illustrate that I, like so many others, was suffering immense physical and mental pain. This starkly illustrates how little Aspen Dental cares about you, you're just a big $$$ sign to them.

Go to Aspen Dental, everyone is sugary sweet, full of compassion, and just want to help you. The examination the results were not unexpected. 14 extractions, all upper teeth would be removed and several lower ones. Again the dentist was slicker than poop through a panther. Gravely concerned but confident that the experts at Aspen Dental would make me whole again. Just stop by the front office to make arrangements for immediate treatment and payment. Plan A was $11,000 not including dentures or bridge. The office Master Con-artist saw my shock and said we could do it this other way for $5,600.00. Again without dentures or bridge and no anesthesia.

These guys have it down to a science, blow client out of the water with huge estimate than kindly “sharpening her pencil” and coming up with a lower price. They were trying to make me think they were concerned for my health and the $$ was secondary. They had me hooked, reeled in, and I was almost in the boat. When I said I needed to think about it things changed fast, real fast.

Pleasant lady turned into an ** like someone flipped a switch. Started to blame me for my health problems, saying I probably never brushed my teeth ever, and sign or stop wasting her precious time. There were people there that were “really sick” and my spineless sniveling was sickening. I stood up, gave her the one finger salute and told her to go ** herself and her pathetic scam tactics. I spoke clearly and loudly for the benefit of the folks in the waiting room ten feet away. The look on her face was precious beyond description. I turned on my heel and continuing my red-ass tantrum marched out. To summarize they are liars and cheats. The kind of people who steal the pennies off a dead man's eyes. I went to a local dentist and had all the work done for $3,864.00

I went in with some pain in my gums, and I also hadn't had a teeth cleaning in a while. They poked at my gums for an hour and told me I had periodontitis with 14 small cavities. Following that painful experience, they presented me with an estimate for a $5,000 procedure (I don't have dental insurance). I went on to get a second opinion from a dentist I met through work. She found no evidence of periodontitis, and only found 8 cavities; meaning the procedure should only cost about $1,000 without dental insurance. Aspen Dental is your typical, crooked big franchise attempting to scare people into paying ridiculously high prices for mediocre work. They wasted my time, and caused me a level of stress I don't wish upon anyone. Aspen Dental is horrible, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY THERE. Don't fall victim to these shady people.

He also said that I didn't pay for the denture that I did pay for. I told him I wasn't satisfied with the way one of the teeth looked and he said that was the way it was suppose to look. He was such a rude dentist. I told them I would not see him again. The owner did grind on the tooth a little and left it so sharp it cut my tongue. I had to file on it when I got home with a nail file. I tried to get an appointment because the owner said to come back if I was still having problems I tried to get an appointment had to wait week and half. I ask her if there was any way I could get in sooner. She said "no and I won't cancel anyone else to give you an appointment." I was not asking her to do that. I was hung up on.

His staff is so rude. If you have a complaint they start over talking you out. They won't allow you to voice the complaint. I have ask to speak to the owner of the place. They say I will leave him a note, not sure if he will have time to call you or when he will. On the appointment issue they told me the dentist that owns the place had nothing to do with the appointment staff, on the issue of my bill today I ask to speak to the head dentist she said he does not work in the billing dept.

Their insurance payment did not coincide with the EOB statement that I received from insurance. They had less than what my insurance paid. I said I would not pay the bill until I talked to the dentist in charge of the place. She said "do what you want but if you don't then collections will take it over." I said I will make sure the word gets out what kind of business they run. She said "I will not sit here and be threatened by you." I said "if you consider that a threat then I consider yours a threat to me as well." That was the second lady I talked to the other one hung up on me. NOT a good place to do business with. So nice until they get your money and then they are a totally different crew.

I called to speak to someone about this and had to wait three days. I finally went into the office and was told they did not have time then to talk to me about it. I was so mad that I guess I flared up at them and whispered to some customers sitting there not to do business with them. The girl finally called me at home and refused to deal with me because I was rude when I was there. I still don't have a permanent denture. They had doubled the amount that they originally had given me. I also found the oral surgeon very rude and uncaring. My jaw was black and blue two days after extractions. I did not have dentures that fit for at least two months.

They charged me also to do a reline which should have been included in the price. I was also told I would be put to sleep for extractions and I was wide awake during the whole thing. All in all I cannot sleep at night over this. I am 78 years old and on a fixed income. I have receipts but don't know how to attach them. After the exams and X-rays were completed I was then told I had cavities and had to have my teeth "scraped." As I spoke to the receptionist to get the estimate on the procedure, she stated a total of $500! I told her I can't afford that and asked if I can just get a cleaning and the cavities filled. She stated I HAVE to do the scraping before the dentist will clean my teeth or fix the cavities. I told her again I could not afford it and had to think about it.

Two days later I called again and asked if I can just get the cavities taken care of. She put me on hold and spoke to the dentist (so she said). She stated that the dentist said I could not get the cavities done unless I do the scraping. I told her I am just going to find another dentist. Since when does a dentist (doctor) not take care of cavities above all else? They can create infections and especially pain! These people are not health conscious, they a money conscious! They should not even be in the dental business! I spoke to someone later about my experience and little did I know, they already have a bad reputation for ripping people off. I am now waiting for a bill that I was told was suppose to be covered and then I will take it from there. Dentists should not be controlling the customer's money! I am paying for it so I should receive the services I requested!

In numerous appointments, I was handed a toothbrush that vibrated so badly in my mouth, that I only used it twice. They never asked me if I wanted it, or how much it cost. A dentist told me that my cavities were all filled, when some were left in my mouth below the gum line. As the charges added up without a detailed record of services rendered, I came to the conclusion that they were "mining" my mouth to add up the charges. I called a halt to the teeth bleaching. To me, it was not necessary. Today, I paid off my Care Credit Card. Free of Aspen Dental.

After paying thousands of dollars to them over a year period, I have found that my insurance isn't picking up anything so far. I was under the impression from them that it had been pre-certified and it hasn't.

My insurance company wants certain documentation to pay, and they are not supplying it. The bills have been outstanding for almost a year, I have tried to get someone to act from the office with no success. I called their "corporate" office with no success. Corporate said someone would get back to me, and that someone was the office manager who I had already had no success in resolving my payment problem. I wouldn't recommend anyone to Aspen Dental. They sell you on everything thinking your insurance is going to pay up. Yeah, that hasn't happened yet.

I am fortunate that all I needed was a filling replaced and not anything very serious, but I literally waited all day to get work done and they wanted the impending procedure paid for upfront before I even had the work done. Their attitude was that if I didn't want to pay upfront I could go somewhere else. So I did, but most the people waiting in the office didn't have that option. I am fortunate in the fact that I have a regular dentist and I have good dental insurance and I can thumb my nose at places like this.

Places like Aspen Dental should be closed because they overcharge for everything and they pressure people into paying for it by opening a charge account with them. They really are an investment firm not a dental association interested in offering people affordable and ethical dental health care. The goal of a good dentist is to save peoples teeth not talk them into to having them pulled out so they can sell them an expensive set of dentures.

Dental First Financing has charged me over $350 dollars in the past year for inaccurate late fees. I scheduled online payments via Bank of America, overpaying the minimum due, BEFORE the due date every month, and due to their processing time – 13 days – they have considered it my fault that a payment is "late" even though I can prove from my bank account that I have paid them on time every single month. Bank of America has compensated me for some of these fees – which is neither BoA's fault or my own.

Dental First Financing has offered me no compensation or explanation for why it takes them 13 days to process a payment, even though representatives state their mail room is open 7 days a week processing incoming mail. My bill's due date is on the 20th of each month. As they average 13 days to process, they consider all of my payments late – Bank of America mails each check 5 days before the due date to ensure it is on time. This company has lost 2 previous class action lawsuits for doing exactly this to thousands of consumers charging late fees that are unwarranted to "ideal" customers who OVERpay on time every month. This third party loan – through Aspen Dental – is scamming everyone who is forced to take their loan due to lack of dental insurance.

So the teeth that were suppose to take a week to do are now taking 3 weeks to do. The office manager just did not get it that I could not wait 3 weeks for teeth. It got to the point I said "Fine I can't do this. You have put my dental phobia into high gear. Refund my money and let me out of here."

So now after they took my money instantly now I have to wait 2 weeks to get a full refund (or that's what they promised). In the meantime I can go to no other dentist because they have my money. They are a bait and switch place. Tell you one thing and do completely another. I just wanted a smile for my daughter's wedding. I called at the beginning of June and made an appointment for 7-27-2016 (the first available appointment date) to have my teeth cleaned at Aspen Dental in Merritt Island FL. I travel between Alaska & Florida and could not see my regular dentist in Alaska as I am in Florida for the next 9 months. I arrived at my appointment on time, filled out the paperwork and had 2 sets of x-rays done. The X-Ray Tech was reviewing my X-Rays and asking me questions about my dental history when I asked her if they had received my dental files from my Dentist in Alaska. She said they had not received my files. My Dentist in Alaska is a close personal friend who has been my Dentist for the past 16 years and his sister is the office manager whom I spoke with and gave her the mailing and contact information for Aspen Dental to send my records to.

Next a dental hygienists inspected my teeth and then a dentist inspected my teeth after that. The Dentist asked me if I had any questions and I said I had come in for a cleaning. From this point on everything went straight down hill. The Dentist said this visit was just to have my teeth inspected and that I had to sit down with their "Benefits Coordinator" and make an appointment to come back for my cleaning. The "Benefits Coordinator" took me to her office, sat me down and asked me how everything went. I said "not very well. I had made this appointment to have my teeth cleaned." The "Benefits Coordinator" (AKA Salesperson) said "oh no we don't do that on the first visit."

Now I am 52 years old, have been to more dentist than I could count on both hands and have never had this happen before. She continued to tell me how they had to evaluate my mouth before conducting a cleaning. Now I am starting to understand their operation (Multiple Office Visits = more $). When I started to get upset telling her I had made this appointment 6 weeks ago and it was the earliest they had and now to find out it was just to inspect my teeth first and then I would have to make another appointment to have done what I had originally made my appointment for was ridiculous. Then when I pressed her for when I could get in to have my teeth cleaned she said "Fine how about tomorrow at Noon." I said that would be fine. Then she tells me "OK after what your insurance covers you will have to pay $238.00 for your cleaning." So I said "fine, I just wanted and needed to get my teeth cleaned" even if its outrageous. Then she says I need FULL PAYMENT NOW before we do anything.

Now I have been in the service business all my life and nobody that provides a service demands payment before completing the SERVICE. At this point I was no longer going to have anything to do with ASPEN DENTAL! It is a Dental Factory by all means with an actual Salesperson whom also by the way tried to sell me a $130.00 toothbrush while trying to Hijack me for $238.00 plus what my insurance covers for a TEETH CLEANING.

I originally visited Aspen Dental back in 2012 for my wisdom teeth. That appointment went fine and I was referred to a surgeon. I continued to go for the next 2 years. All was well until a $150 toothbrush broke that I was charged for and thought was free until I looked at my bill. It broke within one month of purchase. It kept turning on in middle of night by itself and I was not informed of any warranty at time of purchase so it could have been refunded or toothbrush replaced. I even called Aspen. They made it seem I was out of luck.

The Oral B toothbrush to be specific. They made it seem it was covered by my insurance. They had a bag and everything ready to go for when I left. (Well played). I took it as my mistake then and lesson learned. I then lost my job and had no insurance. I got laid off the day of an appointment on 05/14/14 so I cancelled it not knowing I was insured for the next 30 days. I wasn't able to make it again until recently. I had to catch up financially and be able to afford some kind of insurance which is still crap, for lack of a better work to describe it.

I called to make my semi-annual cleaning recently back in June with Aspen. They made the appointment and all was set. I did not know until I was there that the cleaning in fact will not take place because they don't have time and after 3 years, I am considered a new patient so it is a consultation. This should have been given at the time I made the appointment so I could have informed my job which frowns upon me missing work... Not once, not twice, not three times, but a total of four appointments. This is now being extended to 5 appointments because I need an extra follow up for POOR work or a possible root canal tomorrow for my fillings. Though, I better not need a root canal because it was only a surface cavity and a milky substance.

If a root canal is needed, it seems the work wasn't done properly on my teeth and I will be seeking legal advice if that is the case. I was charged over $1400 out of $2535 for a bill that was never explained to me. For treatment of gum disease it cost close to $1200 and $200 for my fillings. This seems outrageous and I was unable to seek a second opinion since I was charged my first visit. When I asked the Dentist what my insurance covers and what it don't, he said the front desk will explain it to me.

Once at the front desk, he told me the amount. I asked if there is a bill that explains what is covered and not covered by my insurance. He said yes and put the bill on the desk. I expected him to start explaining, but he just sat there smiling as he kept trying to sell me a toothbrush. The bills are of a foreign language to a non-medical billing person and maybe to them too and reason it wasn't explained to me. As a client, I am not sure what is needed now and what can wait. A good dentist would advise you of this not just you have this, this and this, bam here is a bill.

Eventually, after staring at the bill dumbfounded, the front desk person said he really wanted me to have the toothbrush, so he gave me a "discount" to get it for free, but it is showing as a charge on my bill after my last visit but did not at the initial transaction of paying for it. I kept persisting I did not want it due to my first experience. But if free, why would I not take it? It was in fact not free. I also used my care credit card to pay for the services because as a 27 year old living paycheck to paycheck, I don't have $1400 to just drop on a dime. The card was charged before any work was done preventing a second opinion and me having to come back. (Again, well played) This was not done in my first visits with Aspen when I started in 2012. From what I recall, I was charged as it got done. The hygienist and dentist then were excellent and did not make me feel like crap after my consultation and left me in tears or charging for un-needed services.

I reviewed the bill when I got home and hardly any of it makes sense. How is anyone supposed to understand these bills? What is a ** site? Should I sit there and Google these terms before paying the bill in the office since it is not explained to me!?!?!? I do know I was charged for a optional cancer screening test but was never asked if I don't want it to prevent the $70 charge insurance doesn't cover. I know I had no bumps that were alarming to be concerned on this matter. (Well played again) Also, charged $30.00 each for three pastes not covered by insurance at all.

Also, what is the point of a promotional period if Aspen charges before the work is even done? It will be on my card for 4 months by the time everything is done, leaving really only 14 months left of the promotional period. If I had known I would be treated as a number and $$$, I would have went to a different office for sure. I always heard bad things about Aspen but never felt that way until recently. I will not be returning after these visits are complete and if my follow-up appointment results in a root canal, I may be seeking a lawyer.

My first bad visit with a dentist office in reference to the health of my teeth and they have not made it easy. My bills have been attached. It seems I was charged for same thing multiple times. I really hope someone gets in contact with me to try to make this right or if interested in keeping a client for the future. In this day of age, there are plenty of offices to choose from, but I chose the place that worked for me before and it was nothing like my first visits. Where did that hygienist and dentist go?

Showed up for my appointment 10 minutes early and waited in the waiting room for well over an hour, while a walk-in customer w/out an appointment was ushered in within 15 minutes, even though she entered the building after me. Finally ushered into the chair, and watched the clock tick by for another 35++ minutes. Finally the dr. arrives and prepares. A small window in the door was the only thing. World watching. Lots of girls walking by, with phones glued their ears. 2 women were working next to an autoclave tool disinfecting device... one woman pulls wrapped tools out of the autoclave, obviously hot & dropped to counter then unwraps them. Must be hot, she wipes her forehead with her sweater sleeve then to my astonishment, uses that sweater sleeve as a glove to finish unwrapping the FORMERLY sterilized tools.

I asked the dr. who said they weren't sterilized. DAH! I know I just watched them use a sweater to handle them at which point she said I could get out and they would make an appointment with another provider...which was not going to happened since this procedure was already paid for. I was enslaved to have non-sterilized tools used in my mouth after an over 90-minute wait! Absolutely the TRUTH!!

I get to my three forty five appointment at three thirty with my paperwork already completed. I wait twenty five minutes before they did a full mouth x-ray. That was fine. Then I go back out to the waiting room. Wait another twenty five minutes. Then they call me and put me in a dental chair that was not comfortably positioned. I wait thirty minutes for Dr **. She looks over my x-rays and said if things weren't bothering me then I shouldn't be too concerned with the gray area around my root canal. I told her I basically came to have the sore in my mouth looked at and I'd gladly pay to have the ViziLite done. She says they'll call me in a little while and then she will take care of it. I go back out to the waiting room for another thirty minutes.

At this time I am not happy I left at five twenty without getting what I had hoped to accomplish. I would not recommend Aspen Dental to anyone and I will let people know to not waste their time. Terribly disappointed. The front staff was nice. I paid the money upfront for the ViziLite and after waiting too long the last time for the doctor to take care of me I then got a refund on my payment.

I try really hard not to add more negativity to Facebook, but I just want to warn whoever I canNOT to use this company to save themselves some stress. This is a lengthy one so get ready. Late May: referred by my family dentist for a wisdom tooth extraction. Early June: Scheduled for a referral appointment at Aspen Dental. I needed to switch the day, so I called the branch (Scranton PA) and asked to be switched to the following day. They said sure. I get a call confirming my original appointment, so I call to make sure I have my rescheduled slot. The woman who picks up the phone says my appointment was never rescheduled, and the time I had requested is no longer available, can I come in two hours later? I say sure, and get the confirmation text.

That day I come in and this receptionist barks at me for being a half hour late (I am actually 15 minutes early). I show her my confirmation text and she shuts up. After receiving panoramic x-rays (covered by insurance) and speaking to the dentist and the woman who coordinates insurance policies, I am told I need one tooth extracted and it should be completely covered, but the oral surgeon only comes in once a month. That date does not work for me so I then search his schedule for every Aspen Dental in a three-hour radius until I find a date that works for me. So I call and schedule an appointment which now brings me to...

Early July: I get a phone call confirming my appointment, and I am told it is going to be a $750 charge for an extraction... after having already been told it would be covered. Turns out they put all of my information in wrong, even though I gave them my insurance card...? So within the next two days I hunt down a new oral surgeon who is actually there more than once a month and I am told as long as I get my x-rays sent over to them, the entire procedure will be completely covered (because I already got the x-rays done this year, it would be a $70-$80 charge for new images). So I call Aspen asking them to email my x-rays. They say it takes over 24 hours but they will take an email address from the other dentist (in what world does an email take over 24 hours?). I wait a couple days, and I hear nothing. So I call Aspen again, they say sorry, they'll email the images. Nothing.

It is now mid July, my extraction is tomorrow, and the new surgeon has STILL not received my x-rays. I call Aspen at 10 AM and they say the emails probably will not make it in time for my 9 AM appointment. I now have to pay out-of-pocket for something that should have been covered in the first place. I am infuriated. The lack of organization in this company is unbelievable. Pick literally any other dentist. Gouge out the tooth with a knife if you can and save yourself some trouble.

I am a retired disabled Vietnam veteran. I have never been treat with so much disrespect in my entire lifetime. My first appointment was during the second week of June. The office manager (Danielle) attitude had a lot to be desired. Initially, she could not speak to me until next week. Then, she came in and spoke with a customer who was brought back after I was was. My friend stated loudly "well then we must not be important then." Then she told us to wait, she could see us today. She showed me several options and told me that a deposit would be needed and financing was available. She was not friendly or professional at all. They made impressions from my old dentures that were 20 plus years old.

I came back on June 29 for fitting. The dentures would not fit in top or bottom. Dr. ** messed in my mouth making adjustments for 2.5 hours before he stated they needed to make another set. Never did he apologize for the inconvenience. He tried to say "when you came back for the mold everything was fine." I was told they would call when the new set was ready. I never received a phone call, so I call them on 7/11/16 and they stated they were ready and to come in at 9:15 on tomorrow.

Upon arriving at the office, everyone was acting very strangely. I was called back and the DA stated that there were going to work this time. Dr. ** came in, slapped the teeth in my mouth and stated that "you have to get used to them." I explained that left side was hurting, he adjusted and said okay. I told him it was still not correct. He made a few more adjustments and said "just try these okay." I felt like I was inconveniencing him. The dental assistant made me an appointment to come back in on July 20. The doctor's last words were "see you in two to four weeks." I tried eating some shrimp and grits, it felt like I was biting down on a rock.

I tried again eating on Wednesday, July 13. My gums were sore because left side does not align and I'm biting down on my gums. My friend call the office on 7/13/16 to see if I could be seen this week. The gentleman who answered the phone, stated they had no appointment for this week and I needed to wait until the 20th. He became hostile with her on the phone. She explained to him that I couldn't eat. He said the earliest I could be seen was 7/18/16. We placed a call to the customer service number and explained the problem. They put us on hold and scheduled an appointment on 7/14/16 at 3:00.

I arrived today for my appointment and had to wait until 3:30 before Dr. ** came in and spoke to me only. He did not acknowledge my friend. So, this appointment was already headed down the wrong road. I explained that my top lip was protruding out and my left side was hurting because I'm biting down on my gum. He made some adjustments and that was still not correct. He stated that I needed to deal with this and give it time to adjust.

I explained that he was not understanding that I can't eat with these dentures. He became agitated. My friend stated, "Larry just let it go. He is obviously tired of dealing with you." Dr. ** then raised his voice in front of office manager, dental assistant and said: "then good just let the office manager deal with you" and stormed out. A real class act. I completed paperwork for a refund. I also called customer care line again to make them aware that nothing was resolved and the doctor is very rude.

Drove 2 hours to see the doctor again so I could get moving on my implants. The doctor told me that he was unaware I was in the office or he would have seen me. Yeah, right.

Many problems and when I call corporate I get the runaround. I kept "squeaking" and was finally told that they would send me a $200.00 gift card to cover "trouble and travel." 2 months and 2 weeks go by and I call the corporate office and ask to speak to someone other that the woman I spoke with who promised the card and was told that she was the highest I could speak with. She eventually called back and had discussed with the owner/operator that I should be given a refund on the tooth they screwed up and I should go elsewhere for dental care.

I was then told that 1/2 of the refund would go on my current credit card and the other portion on a CLOSED credit card. I was told that this is the way they have always done things and that this closed credit card would issue me the money that was due me but could you please come in and sign some paperwork. Yep, not signing a thing until I get my money... or so I thought. I am now being told that if I don't sign, they can't refund the money. Really??? Decided to look up Aspen Dental only to find thousands of complaints. Lovely! My next call is going to be to my state's attorney general for a formal complaint. The corporate "fixer" said they were going to release me for care somewhere else since I couldn't seem to get past the problems with THEIR company. Wow, really?! RUN AWAY FROM ASPEN DENTAL!!! My experience here has been mostly a positive one. As other reviewers have stated, they do try to sell you "extra services," so pay attention to your bill (this is true at any doctor). However, I also find that they are more attentive than your average dentist; they listen to the patient and not just in the medical or economic context. I personally had a rocky start here. One of the docs who filled a tooth used a damaged drill and burned my lip and arm because it got too hot, and he didn't really seem to care. Shortly thereafter, there was a billing issue and things didn't look good.

I voiced my complaints to the staff and was pleasantly surprised when they refunded the errant billing amount. Clearly, they only want to bill for rendered services. Since then, I've also had no issues with the staff, who are still very cheery and helpful. I haven't seen the guy who burned me either, but I don't know when he works. After we've discussed what will be done, they just get to work, and they've never tried to "slip in" any fine print. It's all laid out on the paper - and they're happy to answer questions about parts you might not understand. So like your usual business, they're out to make money, but they also know where the salesroom ends and the dentistry starts. I like that.

I first went to the Aspen Dental in Bloomington, IL because I was having terrible tooth pain. I called and made an appointment for a Saturday. I get there and get back to see the dentist. She checked my teeth and said I had bad gingivitis and would need a deep cleaning which is 2 appointments within 1 weeks time. They said I needed a root canal, but couldn't get that done until the cleanings were done. Ok fine so I get the cleanings done and go to schedule the root canal. With my schedule it was hard to find a time to get in. I asked to see about getting in on a Saturday but was told they don't do Saturday appointments. I was confused since I had my first appointment on a Saturday and another patient was having teeth pulled that day. So I called because I was in a lot of pain and wanted to get in earlier so the girl said she would check.

The next day I get a phone call wondering if I would be able to make my appointment that day since the weather was bad. I knew nothing of this appointment since nobody ever called me back so I said, "No, I'm at work so I can't make it." We try to figure another time and would call me back. No call back AGAIN. I then call back to schedule and am told the dentist I saw wasn't there anymore and they needed to check with the dentist to see if they could do the root canal. WHAT? Shouldn't all dentists be able to do this? They call back and said they need to check with the dentist that would be there Monday. NO CALL MONDAY. I figured give them a few days.

Thursday I call back and asked if they could do this. I am just done at this time and asked for a refund. They quoted a lower price than I expected. They checked into it and refunded some to my care credit card and was suppose to get a check in the mail. I then asked if they charged me for the electric toothbrush they gave me which was billed to my insurance and wasn't covered. They said yes it was $130. WHAT... NOBODY EVER TOLD ME THAT THIS TOOTHBRUSH WAS $130. I was told it was part of the gingivitis package. I thought it was something Colgate gives them to give to patients so they will continue to buy refill brushes. I explained this to the lady who did my billing and she said she would send in a ticket to get a refund for the toothbrush.

After 3 weeks and no call I called yet again and was told that because my balance was zero I wouldn't be getting the toothbrush refunded. Do not go here. THEY WILL LEAVE THINGS OUT AND ADD CHARGES THAT YOU WEREN'T EVER TOLD ABOUT. I feel they were extremely deceitful and all they want is your money.

The guy that works at front I think his name is Josh, super nice guy. I saw Dr. ** he did nothing to the tooth that was hurting but had no problem telling me what I was going to need down the road, and it's funny, so many other reviews I read we're told the same thing. I think their training is to lie to people. So on June 25th that tooth is killing me with pain. I realize the tooth is split in half so I call Mon. They said the soonest I could get in is Wed the 29th and there would be no charge for the extraction.

Finally it is the day this tooth comes out. :) When I arrive the person at front desk tells me there will be no charge if I get a cleaning. I said "I don't want a cleaning. Just get this tooth out." He checked with Dr. ** and said "no problem, he will take care of you." So I go in, sat in chair, he looks at tooth and comments that "yes it needs to come out." He left me in chair for 30 mins and never came back. The guy up front came and took me up front and told me that Dr. ** was not going to pull my tooth I guess because I wouldn't pay for a cleaning. I ended up going home and pulling it myself, not fun.

Went to the Waterville, Maine location to get it cemented back in and not only could they not see me as I needed to schedule an appointment, they would not give me a temporary cement kit to reconnect it, stating, "we don't have those." Funny the Auburn, Maine branch sent me home with one originally. The only other advice she had for me was that there must be another issue going on and they will need to take x-rays.

After spending $4k on this one bridge it should be perfect, not "you need more X-rays" and aka "we need to charge you more money." Having recently moved here and had every intention of using this location for future work, I guess I should be grateful to see how this location operates out of the gate. Basically it was a Friday and they were closing in 15 minutes and could not be bothered. Also, being Friday, I didn't want to go the entire weekend with missing front teeth so ended up picking up a temporary kit to resolve the issue myself for the time being. Needless to say I am very disappointed with the Customer Service at this location and would not recommend it.

He was so rude and actually started snapping his fingers at me when I tried to ask a question. He then proceeded to tell me that all those photos in the lobby were fake, and those were not satisfied customers. Then he asked me to take my teeth out and show my mouth to another patient and try and talk her out of getting dentures. He proceeded to rant and yell at me so I finally got up and left. I made a complaint to corporate and they did end up giving me all my money back plus $600 for punitive damages. That was all well and good but my teeth still not fit properly. I was so traumatized by the experience I decided to try and live with it. Here it is 5 years later and my wife who had been going to Aspen Dental in Champaign Illinois convinces me to try that office.

She made me an appointment and told them about my previous experience. They said, "No problem! We will treat him as a brand new patient." So this morning I get up and drive an hour and a half to my appointment. The girl at the front desk asks me about my previous experience and I tell her my story. 45 minutes go by and I am finally called back to what I think is to see the dentist. To my surprise I was escorted in to the manager's office only to be told they are refusing to see me because Aspen had previously gave me my money back plus. I was in shock!! I was angry and sad all at once. All I wanted was to have my dentures adjusted so I was not in pain 24/7. I then called for my wife to come back there so she could hear what was being said. My wife's jaw dropped when she heard they were refusing to help me. I left with a few loud angry words because I am just so very frustrated!!! Don't get sucked in by them.

I was an "emergency" walk-in since I didn't have an appointment. Had to pay $73.00 upfront for exam & x-ray. Dentist comes in & says she can pull the 2 teeth, no problem. Website says extractions are $107.00 a tooth. Should have been $214.00. Nope, was charged $266.00 before the dentist would proceed. After begrudgingly paying, the dentist applies a jelly to inside of my jaw to numb for the shots. That went fine. THEN... she gave a shot through the roof of my mouth without numbing it. Hurt like crazy! Yes, I moaned quite loudly due to the pain. She had the nerve to tell me "shh, be quiet, I have other patients who might hear you." SERIOUSLY? Was she being serious?!

Maybe 2 minutes pass before she's asking & poking to see if my mouth is numbed up. The 1st extraction was no problem. The one I'd been having the worst pain with, now that's a different story. When she started the extraction on that one, I tensed up, was mumbling/yelling "no, no, no," hurts too bad. Tears pouring, trying to climb out of the seat from the pain... she was relentless! She FINALLY got it out, then applied medicine. It was abscessed. That tooth was NOT numb enough to pull like she did. Once finished I had to sit there a few minutes to get my composure. My hands were trembling, my chin was trembling, & tears still rolling. By the time I got home, my lips & entire left side of face was more numb than it had been at the office. Needless to say... I refuse to EVER return to any Aspen facility!

She assessed my gums rapidly shooting off numbers to the dental assistant. 4, 4, 5, 5, 6! These numbers are indicative of periodontal gum disease and I would require a "special" cleaning and scaling and be in need of antibiotics put back in my gums. Next the dentist comes in and says in addition to the 2 crowns I need because mine came off, that I would need 2 root canals and 2 more crowns, and 2 cavities filled. No worries, work done that day.

Next I go to the finance/insurance mgr. to discuss the costs. She gave me over $9000.00 worth the work. My portion, with 2 dental insurance plans would be over $3700.00. Would I like to apply for financing? I have them $750.00. I left feeling I had just been through one of those timeshare scams, so I investigated the ConsumerAffairs site. When I returned February I was told that I had let this go for a year, therefore it was not that important to me and would need to get new x-ray's exam and finance. I was a bit disturbed by this attitude but, to my desperation continued with them. The total amount had gone up but I sat with Amanda, applied for financing had my total deposit and proceeded. Scheduling the extracting of my remaining teeth, asking if I was going to be knocked out since my roots were wrapped about my jaw bone. This was confirmed.

I walk in on March ninth to only be told that if I wanted anesthesia it would be an additional twenty-one hundred paid in full prior. Needless to say, I had to proceed with only Novocain and it was a two and half hour ordeal, the dentist, the assistant, my husband and myself, ALL breathed a huge sigh of RELIEF. It was TRAUMATIZING. Then I get told to take ibuprofen. UM, NO PLEASE give me something for pain relief. I was in shocked. The woman dentist did so politely.

Then we proceed to the follow-ups with the dentures pending implants. I received a bill for three hundred twenty-eight a week after the extraction. WHAT?! I called and Amanda started with, "The contract YOU signed... pages of tiny print," explained to me saying basically, this is what it states trusting BIG MISTAKE you incurred additional fees I was upset and explained I was told ALL CHARGES were included by SEVERAL EMPLOYEES.

My next adjustment because the dentures were extremely big, my folder was left opened on the counter and in RED INK my husband and I see a notation "Probably won't pay." The assistant then who since the beginning was VERY CONDESCENDING had words with my husband, who has been a denture wearer for forty five years. She walked out as I was trying to explain to her that they would not stay up with anything and I had to leave the state due to the fact that my sister was dying. No compassion. No sympathy. Just stomped out in a huff saying she could not help me to come back when I return.

TODAY I call to start the procedure of the implants ONLY to be told additional fees are required to be paid UP FRONT prior to this procedure. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Hundreds of dollars. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, DECEPTIVE, and FRAUDULENT. Again I get the repetitive line, "The contract you signed..." This is not going to work for me. Return my money and I will proceed with a reputable dentist. My UNCLE has been my dentist for many, many years until I moved to this area eight years ago. He is also APPALLED at their behavior and DECEPTION. A resolution needs to be agreed upon IMMEDIATELY.

On my first visit, they refused to see me because I had not replied to a confirmation message left on my phone. I DID reply to the confirmation text that was sent to me but the receptionist stated that they required a VERBAL confirmation... If that is true, why do they sent out confirmation text and then reply that they actually received the confirmation text???

On the second visit, the person that came into the room did not identify herself and started talking to me about my dental issues. I asked if she was the hygienist. She said that she was not but that she knew "just a little about dentistry" because she has been "in the business" for 10 years now. I had to blatantly ask her WHO SHE WAS to get an answer. She was a dental assistant. She reviewed my dental information and the dentist came in to examine my teeth and determine what problems I had and what needed to be done. He recommended a deep clean on a few teeth, a crown repair and 2 cavities filled.

I told him that I did not want the deep clean at this time, just a regular cleaning and all the other work completed. He stated that that was fine and I made an appointment for the cleaning and another appointment for the repair work. On the third visit, the hygienist told me that she could not perform a regular cleaning because I had some bleeding upon perio probing and that at least 3 teeth required a deep clean. I said OK, to go ahead with the deep clean then I was told that it could not be done at that appointment, another appointment had to be made for that AND I could not get the cavities and the crown repair taken care of until after the deep clean was performed even though I had already scheduled the repair work for the next day. I had it after that. I will not go back.

We just got back from our first and last visit to Aspen Dental in Nashville, TN. We decided to go there because we saw an ad online saying the first visit is only $19 and a cavity filling is only $114. Wow, right? We all know how expensive dental work is and we actually believed that finally here is a place that will help people for a price they can afford. Not the case at all, not even close. We quickly learned that the cheap consultation visit is what they use as bait to get you in the door and then they hit you with the most outrageous prices ever. My husband needs a simple cavity filled. The price? $1,700. You read that right. I asked them how in the world they came up with that number when we saw online fillings were only $119. She said they start at $119 and that his filling would be about $250. The other $1,500 was for a teeth cleaning.

I asked why a cleaning was $1,500 and she said, with a straight face, "well, he needs a deep cleaning and those cost more." They also refused to fill the cavity without the cleaning being done first. So, moral of this story? These people operate with a bait-and-switch business model. Don't be deceived by the cheap visit and X-rays. They plan on robbing you blind before you get out the door. I can't believe, after reading all these scathing reviews, that Aspen Dental continues to be in business. Wow!

My dental experiences have been too many to discuss but in all they have been sympathetic with patient fears and have been at least professional and compassionate. On my first visit I met with courteous assistants who were as described pleasant, non-judgmental and professional. The dentist was as well and informed me she could put a temporary filling into broken jagged molar and I was then moved to office manager to discuss financial planning. She pushed for me to open an account with their financial company which I declined.

Since I needed to have a significant amount of dental work done I opt to do it in segments. My lower teeth needed to be extracted and bone spurs removed followed by placement of their denture (all in one step). I explained it would certainly be under anesthesia. The rest while costly were not painful other than for cost. I was informed the method was to pay first half up front in order to even make an appointment. The surgeon came in twice a month which gave me a choice of having two teeth removed and paying that first so I opt to do as suggested and secured an opening asap.

In the meanwhile I secured a loan and changed the scheduling for the complete work to be done on lower jaw using this time slot. I was under extreme duress the day of procedure (and days preceding). I was truly nervous. Scheduled a friend to bring me home and placed my dog in the vet and went to the appointment an hour early. I gave in the second half of my amount due (previously discussed with office manager via phone) and was told I paid too much and I had a credit of $2000? I was then directed to office manager again. She informed me it was not $500 due but $63 so I adjusted the amount with a new check.

The biggest problem was then to arise and that was the oral surgeon. I was brought into the room by an assistant who offered me to sit and did her work of covering me. The doctor was hovering over my chart (first time I had seen him ever). He looked up and never introduced himself to me nor speak to me in any manner other than abruptly. Example: I said "I am very nervous". He replied "Everyone is nervous" and then placed a clipboard with consent into my lap and said "sign here". He then walked out and repeated this a couple of more times. He asked "who is here with you". I replied "I have someone coming in to pick me up."

The office manager came in and said she had not factored into the bill the second side of bone spurs so it would mean more money. He then turned to me and said "open your mouth and put your head back" and shoved Novocaine into my right jaw without topically treating first. He was about to repeat the injection when I stopped him and said "this is with anesthesia" and said "NO. NO anesthesia". I again said "get the office manager now." She informed me I had not paid for anesthesia???

While I sat in another dental chair she fussed with the computer. He said "you have no one here with you - no anesthesia". I became very angry and cancelled the procedure. I told them this was the worst experience of my life and as a registered nurse would first of all never consider receiving a patient without proper identification and courteously addressing their apprehension. I would have explained the work to be done and at least have addressed any change in format! I left very upset and angry and now also had a numb mouth without anything having been done (not that I would have wanted him to remove anything).

My overall impression: The correct planning was not done and the estimate incorrect as noted at home after. She the office manager had only one side of the mouths bone spurs to be done. The anesthesia figure was on the itemized bill which she could not find while I was there. The office staff on some levels was professional but on the day of incident were not especially the surgeon and his assistant. The advertisement for this office was in contradictions with what was projected on wall hangings, i.e. kind, courteous, professional, understanding care which makes patients not want to leave and go home.

They took a very long time to get my x-rays done and then took even longer waiting for my dentist to do a consult. During that time they really tried to sell me on some "life saving cancer detecting miracle test". When I refused they sent in other people to tell me how great the test was and that it would "most likely" find cancer if it was there to find for the low, low price of $100.00. I felt like I was in some silly sales pitch for a freaking time-share.

Now comes the good stuff... After the "consultation" they shuttled me onto a Financial adviser to go over how I could pay for my wisdom teeth extraction. THEY REFUSED TO BILL MY INSURANCE and thought they could just hand me a bill for $3000.00! I asked for the codes they would be billing me for and the very first one was a $130.00 toothbrush! A freaking toothbrush! They also were going to bill me $555.00 for an Impacted Completely Bony tooth, the only problem is all of my wisdom teeth are erupted. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS! I had an initial visit at the Horseheads NY Aspen Dental on 4/28. Had a gazillion x-rays done and then had to have them redone since the tech didn't obtain good enough pictures. Within the 4 hours that I was there, I was told that most of my teeth were bad, but that they would only extract 12 of them, and then perform repair work to the rest. Even after learning that I was disabled and on a very limited income. I did have dental insurance, but of the almost 12 thousand dollar total plan of care bill, my insurance only covered about 2k of it. So I left feeling quite down, needless to say.

Approximately 5 days after the appointment, I started having some dental pain in one of the broken teeth and at/in the gum directly above it. I treated it myself with frequent hot salt water rinses and mouthwash rinses several times daily, in addition to normal brushing and extra hard brushing on the affected area making it bleed copiously to help ward off any infection. After ten days of the appointment, I called there to request an antibiotic be ordered so that I could get the extractions done on the 25th of May with the oral surgeon and anesthesia being used. I called the office twice that day to see if it had been done, and was told that the Dr would probably not order it without seeing me since it was last month that he'd seen me.

Now we're talking a matter of calling on the 9th of May, with the initial appointment being on the 28th of April. Therefore I complained to that person and finally she relented and said she'd put my chart with request on the Dr's desk. I have called that office daily, including yesterday to notify them that I will be transferring my care to an office that actually cares for its clients, and was told "Oh, you don't want the antibiotic any longer"... so I said "yes I do, and I will hold off on doing a transfer if the request is dealt with". It's now the 12th and I still have not received a phone call back from that office, nor the requested treatment. As an RN, I am simply dumbfounded at this lack of professionalism and care. If this is the way they treat their clientele, you would be better served going to another dentist office.

I went to Aspen Dental in York PA, after not seeing a dentist in 4 years. I was in an accident and had crowns on every upper tooth. I saw two other dentists and an endodontist at different practices in order to have an informed decision. I had several teeth that could be saved and the root canals could be retreated, but I knew I wouldn't follow through with the extensive work due to my anxiety in the dental chair.

I booked a consultation with the oral surgeon (yes, I had to pay $110 upfront to even book the spot) and they fit me into her schedule the following day. I told her I wanted my upper teeth extracted and I wanted an all on 4 implanted denture. After looking at my X-rays, the oral surgeon asked me if I was sure I wanted to do all extractions because I had several teeth that could be retreated, and I told her that this is what I wanted. I am only 40 and she went over, in detail, that I'm young, I will have bone loss where the implants weren't placed, etc... I informed her that I'm not wavering on my decision and she then drew up the plan that I was asking for. She told me it was my choice, but she at least wanted to let me know the pros and cons to my decision. She spent a lot of time with me and was very compassionate to my story about my accident and she understood where I was coming from.

I met with the office manager and saw the upfront cost of my out of pocket expense and wasn't exactly taken off guard. But paying everything upfront when it's an 8 month process wasn't expected. I understand why they do this though. They want to be able to pay their employees, and many people become delinquent with their medical bills and this is a way to ensure the office will be paid. Plus, pre-paying is also an incentive for the patient to follow through with bettering their dental health.

I went home with my estimate, spoke with my husband and emailed the OM about just doing step 1 which is sedation, extractions and the highest quality denture there is. She got back to me and we felt doing step 1 as best for us. I called her and told her what we decided. At no point did she try to convince me to go with their first plan which was much higher. She told me that she understood where I was coming from having 1 child in braces, another child going into braces next month and a college student we were paying tuition for.

I made my appointments and went in for my molds. The oral surgeon took my molds and told me she was happy that I was taking charge of my dental health. Every person I have dealt with at this particular office was phenomenal. I feel I'm making the right decision for myself and my family to proceed with my treatment plan.

Again, I feel like this office is honest, but maybe others aren't. It's still the patient's choice to make any and all decisions about their health. I do have excellent insurance and $5,000 coverage per year. My issues weren't with not having insurance, but my absolute fear of going to the dentist. I did a ton of research before making my decision and Aspen's plan was still reasonably priced considering what the endodontist wanted to charge me per retreatment of each root canal. (Not an Aspen dentist).

At $300 a tooth, gum lasering, a few extractions, a couple implants, several crowns... her figure was much more expensive and one that I know I wouldn't have followed through with. Maybe my opinion will change once I get the temporary dentures, but all fittings are included in my plan. My permanent dentures are included and they have signs posted that their estimate is the final price. And if there's a complication with an extraction, they would eat the cost of additional fees.

I was given a "contracted" cost estimate and I signed the estimate which stated I will not be charged more than what is on the plan that I decided upon. I don't understand how people are stating they are getting bills for more than their plan stated since you sign a guaranteed price contract when booking the appt. Plus, if you aren't satisfied with your dentures, you are guaranteed your money back for the cost of the dentures. Maybe people are going with the cheapest ones, which I've read you get what you pay for with dentures.

I am getting the ComfiLyte dentures and I am the one who approves or disproves the final product. Still unsure about how disgruntled people are. It's your responsibility to read the treatment plan breakdown and your responsibility to inform the dentist/oral surgeon what you are expecting. I had a detailed conversation with my oral surgeon before making my decisions and at the end, she asked me if I had any more questions for her and if I felt comfortable with going forward. I felt no pressure, and I was the one telling the oral surgeon what treatment I wanted.

If you don't take charge of your dental/medical health, it's on you. I'm in charge of what I allow doctors/dentists to do, not the other way around. I'm paying them, so they work for me and they do what I want even if it's not their recommendation. My oral surgeon made sure I knew several teeth were "savable", and that dentures should be the last resort. I accept full responsibility for my decision to go with extractions and dentures.

After I heal from the extractions, I will then pay for step 2 on their first treatment plan and get the implants. I do believe my best option is their first treatment plan, but I refuse to pay for it upfront so I'm doing it step by step. Completely my decision! Everyone treated me well and at no point felt anyone was looking down on me for choosing the plan I felt comfortable with.

The dental hygienist decided I needed Perio Maintenance. I don't even know what that is; never needed it before. She took less time with the cleaning than my regular DH, even though she was supposed to be doing some extra thing, and she was hurtful with the dental floss, which I told her about. Like so many other reviewers I thought the extra type cleaning was done to make more money, not because I needed it.

The business manager was very nice explaining my dental plan. I paid my $126 and thought I was done. But then I received invoice for $112 more. I called Humana, who said they paid nothing on X-rays and cleaning as it was not covered. I called Aspen to complain, letting the pleasant receptionist know how unhappy I was with the services, expecting to get nowhere, except to get it off my chest. But lo and behold, she talked to someone, and the charges were removed. I told her, "I thought you were the bad guy. And here you end up being the good guy." That was totally unexpected. So unless I get another invoice saying that my bill is being sent to a collections agency, I feel better about my experience with Aspen Dental.

Too bad I didn't see the last review dated April 2016, before I headed to Aspen Dental in Myrtle Beach this week. I went in for what I thought was my second, normal dental cleaning, and same as previous reviewer, no, no, no, that was not correct. I was informed I was having periodontal work because my record stated I suffered from periodontal disease and if Aspen Dental only did a normal cleaning, well, they would be liable for not doing work they recommended. I told them I'd sign a waiver; nope, couldn't do that. And, did I mention I have dental insurance which would have covered the normal cleaning, but did not cover periodontal work?

I relented and agreed to get the periodontal work done, along with bite wing X-rays which were part of the treatment, and had to pay $132, which, by the way, is paid upfront before any single tooth is even looked at. Now, the best part, the periodontal work never happened. I was treated by a very sweet, very proficient and competent hygienist who gave me an excellent, regular cleaning, no scraping or digging under the gums as done in periodontal work. Oh yeah, no bite wing X-rays were taken, either. I didn't bother to complain about any of this on the way out. I figured I was the stupid one to fall for this when I went agreed to go into the treatment room. (I should have learned my lesson when after my first visit I was sent home with a $27 tiny tube of "special" toothpaste.)

I have since called a different dental office that takes my insurance and scheduled an appointment, so I can get a second opinion as to whether or not I need periodontal work. The office receptionist there stated that after their dentist did an evaluation, I would be told in detail what dental work I needed and why but that ABSOLUTELY I could refuse any work I didn't want for any reason, be it financial or otherwise, as long as I understood the ramifications. That's what ANY treatment of any kind should be. Stay away from ANY ASPEN DENTAL. Clearly it's their corporate policy to add unnecessary treatments and procedures to increase the bottom line. Be smarter than me and be mindful of this honest review.

After that was all done I was told that I needed an extensive periodontic cleaning that would cost over $1500 and a cavity filled and a crown replaced due to decay underneath it for another $1500. I said that all I wanted was a normal teeth cleaning, and they refused to schedule this so I left.

I called my old dentist in North Carolina and asked her if I could get a teeth cleaning done as I would be up there the following week visiting friends. The dental hygienist was busy so she agreed to come in early and do it herself. I did not tell her anything about the Aspen visit. After the cleaning and x-rays I asked her how my gums and teeth looked and she said very good. That is when I showed her the paperwork from Aspen. She was shocked. She said I definitely did not need a perio cleaning as my gums were in good shape. She re-checked the x-rays and said I did not have a cavity in the tooth that Aspen said I did and that I had no decay under the crown they said I did, and did not need a new crown.

Aspen planned to do medically unnecessary procedures on my teeth and gums. THIS IS FRAUD. Thank goodness I listened to my common sense and got a second opinion. I have since been told that the staff at Aspen are told to push expensive and excess procedures to the point of being on a quota in order to keep their jobs. Do not ever go to ASPEN for anything.

I expected a couple of cavities and a scolding for missing so many appointments! What I went through was much worse. I was brought in to get X-rays taken and was having a hard time getting the back of my mouth done due to my gag reflex.

The 20 something year old (maybe even 19) technician seemed extremely annoyed with my discomfort and the fact that I kept having to spit out the utensils he shoved in my mouth, but somehow I got it done. Later when I was brought into the semi-private room the technician took my blood pressure and I waited for the dentist to come in. When he arrived he took a look at my X-rays and started pointing out all of the things that were wrong with my teeth. "You have two cavities, you have parts of your tooth left in your gums from when you had this tooth removed, you need a bridge for these teeth, etc." Ok so now my anxiety is even worse. In came the dental hygienist and she tells me she's going to start shouting out numbers as she's going through my teeth to the same kid who did my X-rays. It was all very uncomfortable.

Once I got back up to the front I Sat down with the office manager and I'm now crying at this point. She hands me a tissue and tells me it'll all be ok and hands me a bill to sign with over $2,000 worth of work to be done. My first appointment was going to be a cleaning and the fillings that I "needed." I was so traumatized I Sat in my car and cried, it was the most awful feeling in the world. Days go by and now I've talked to my friends, family, read reviews on this so called "business" and I make the greatest decision ever to get a second opinion!

Today I went to see a family dentist who owns a private practice that my father in law recommended in the same town. Turns out not one thing Aspen Dental told me was true. I do not have cavities. I do not need a root canal! I do not need a bridge for my tooth that was pulled years ago (although this dentist recommended an implant in a few years, not necessary now). I had a great deal of tartar build up which is to be expected for not having a cleaning in 5 years but that's it. Unbelievable.

I am disgusted to even think about how this company can be in business deceiving their poor clients. Not giving them accurate and appropriate diagnosis but trying to get every penny they possibly can and doing work that doesn't need to be done. I'm not a person who normally writes reviews for anything I buy or any experience I have. If I can help at least one person to make the decision to go to a private practice, then this was worth it! Save your money! And if you've been here already I highly suggest getting a second opinion. I almost guarantee you've been lied to.

I will never do business with Aspen Dental. "Jason" the office guy is the most incompetent person I have ever dealt with. The dentist Dr. ** did nothing to make me feel confident in this establishment. I was given a dental plan that was $4,000. I was told by "Jason" that my insurance wouldn't authorize the extractions for 6 months, and that I would have to break the work up into 2 visits 6 months apart. The first visit didn't include the filling I needed (which is the reason I called them in the first place). He said they would do it on the second visit. Because the dentist would want to do the extractions and fillings together. So now "Jason" knows more about what I need than the dentist? And now I'm supposed to wait 6 months to have a cavity fixed? On top of that I was given an invoice for the first of 2 visits of $1297 for extensive cleaning with my insurance covering $225. The patient responsibility was $1072.

I asked "Jason" what percent my insurance covered and he replied 70%. I looked at him and said $225 is not 70% of $1297. He said he would have to call "IT" and see if there was an error. What does "IT" have to do with dental work? Right then I knew that this place was a bunch of scam artists trying to milk unsuspecting people from money they didn't need to spend. I cancelled my appointment and contacted Northeast Delta Dental (my insurance provider) and they verified that they would have paid 70% of the $1297.00 for the advanced cleaning. They recommended I contact the NH insurance commission to file a complaint, which I will do. I am sure they will be interested to see the invoice I was provided. I am also going to contact the ADA. I will also make sure everyone I know never sets foot in that awful excuse for a dental practice!

I had broke a tooth (back bicuspid) and I went online to find a dentist to take care of it quickly so it wouldn't become an issue later because I was starting a new job soon. I Googled it and Aspen dental was the first to appear. (What a joke!) I made the appointment after explaining my issue and its importance. And when the day came, I showed up, filled out the necessary paperwork, and was guided to the back. The assistant was pleasant enough, explaining that Doctor Taylor would be right with me soon. While I was waiting, a woman customer was in the next open area 8 feet away, being told she had to wear her unsatisfactory dentures, and she proclaimed, " I am so sick of this! Every time I come in here I am disappointed! Get this thing off me! I'm never coming back here!" I just thought it was a nagging, picky customer, but then it was my turn.

The doctor came back and I explained briefly about my new job, showed her my denture that had nothing to do with my bottom, broken tooth, and then she left without so much as a word! Hmm, I thought it was a little weird. The pleasant assistant came in, guided me to the X-ray room, then shuffled me back to my seat. The doctor came back in and another assistant quietly moved behind me as the doctor said I had two options, full upper and lower dentures or save the bottom teeth and a new top denture. Newsflash Doc, I was only there for a broken tooth, but when I told her, she just started calling out root canals and facials to the person behind me then left again without a word! Everyone just walked out of the room and 2 minutes later the pleasant assistant came back and said, "Okay you're all set! Just see Angela at the front desk."

I walked to the front, bewildered and confused as Angela explained how it will cost me 11 thousand dollars but they have a payment plan. For a broken tooth? Whaa? She said, "If you can't do that, we can do a smaller fix, which would involve pulling the broken tooth, a new top and bottom denture for 3 thousand." I replied, "I will have to think about it," and left. I felt like I just left one of those shady oil change places that offer you a 29.95 oil change then once they get your car on their lift, they claim there is more that you need done. I just wanted my damn tooth pulled so I could start my new job! Not friendly, not concerned with my small issue I was willing to pay cash for. It seems that they were after the big bucks, like the oil change guys are told to go for! Stay away from these fly by night people! If all they are concerned with is money, chances are that they will not care much about my teeth. Don't let their singing commercials fool you! Stay away!

BAD BUSINESS ALERT! Do not go to ASPEN DENTAL in Cookeville. What a racket. I only made a late appt there because I started a new job and my regular dentist closes at 4. I have had issues with one tooth for months. My regular dentist had just put a temp crown on it and told me that if I had any more issues, it would just have to come out. So, I called Aspen and told them my long history. The lady was really nice and verified my 5pm appt in about a week. Great! I wouldn't have to miss work! I specifically told her I needed an extraction and that I had insurance and could pay the difference. I wanted an appt sooner if they could get me in. She put me on hold a few times saying she was talking to the office manager about putting me on a wait list to get in sooner because I was in pain. She said I would be called if they could get me in.

So, today I go in. They give me literally about 15 x-rays. I questioned that saying I really didn't need all that. COMPANY POLICY they say. All new xrays for new patients. O.K... Then I was taken back to the chair and a Dentist looked at the xrays. I told her the temp crown had already popped off and that I could take it off. She said yes and looked at the tooth for about 3 seconds. She then told me to put the crown back on. HUH? I asked why because they were going to pull it. She said no they weren't. I said "I made this appt for that reason" and she left in a hurry. The office Mgr came in and held out her hand. "Let's go up front and discuss costs and scheduling." I asked, "Why." I am at my appt to get my tooth fixed. Oh no... this was just a new patient appt. We argued. I said, "If I had to come back for another appt I may as well go to my regular dentist." She said she could pull the phone conversation when I made the appt.

I called her bluff and asked her to pull it up right then and let's all listen to it because I was very specific about why I was coming. She said that was a call center and they don't have anything to do with it. I said, "THEY? It's YOU. Your company." She said they couldn't just schedule to pull a tooth because the person might have health issues or the root might be up in the sinuses. I asked isn't that why I filled out the health history and they took 14 x-rays? She said they weren't extracting it and that they already had someone in for an extraction. It was too late in the day.

I told them they had better not send a bill for those unneeded xrays to my insurance. I left and said I would never go back. Here I am, tooth still in, in pain. ARGH! I should have heeded the horrible reviews but didn't see them until today. Unless you want to be out lots of money for multiple appts to take care of ONE issue and multiple xrays for which they can charge your insurance, and you want to be lied to and strong-armed, then AVOID ASPEN DENTAL at all costs.

After being on hold for over 20 minutes, I called on another phone while still on hold on one phone. I told them not to put me on hold and please give me an appointment. Again - put on hold for almost 5 minutes. I was ready to call again from another phone when someone finally came back on the line and made the appointment. Customer service is terrible. Dec 2015. My Dentist was out of town when I had a problem with my molar. I looked online for the nearest office in Saratoga Springs, NY. I made an appointment. Filled out the usual paperwork related to health history and so on. When I was called in, the tech took a Panorex shot then 17 bitewings of every angle of my mouth. I thought it too excessive for a molar that was giving me trouble. When I finally got to see the dentist on my case she said I needed a root canal. Ok, fine. I also asked if there were any other issues and she said the rest of my teeth were fine considering my age of 48. I asked if I could have my X-rays she said, "No." I asked, "Why?" she replied, "Company policy." She gave me two options and offered to prescribe oxycodone for the tooth. I said no to the drugs.

When my main dentist returned back to NY from doing charity work outside this country I told him what happened and that I requested the x-rays, he said I was entitled to have them and that is was the law that they give them to me. They did not and one thing he said that confirmed the other Aspen dentist was that I did need a root canal but his option was he can save the tooth and it would not cost me more than $1600.00 as quoted by their financial person at the front desk. Oh and the other option was to pull it, I made an appointment to have it pulled then my primary arrived back in town. So I canceled the extraction appointment but they charged me any.

So to make a long story short, do your homework and if your tooth is damaged from an accident from 20 years ago and it deteriorates in a matter of weeks don't wait to get it fixed. My tooth was infected which is why I went to Aspen in the first place but they didn't tell me it was so. My primary dentist pointed it out and prescribed the required course of antibiotics before he started work. He did place a temp filling to keep crap out of my tooth. Also I put the Aspen charge on my American express. When I got the bill in the mail I noticed the charge for something that didn't happen. The tooth extraction. I called American Express and explained the situation and they took care of the charge. They're great to have when you have a problem. Anyway, my tooth is still intact with a post and filling it cost me $1200.00 to fix.

I told her that my Mom did not want to go through periodontal work and that she just wanted to see if she could get a bridge done. Dentist came in and he was very abrupt, did not smile and very rude.

He stated that if she did not want to have the bone loss corrected he could not do a bridge because it would be malpractice. He stated he would only be able to do a temporary bridge that would not last. That is ridiculous! He could have had her sign waiver on the bone loss issue. My husband had a similar experience a few months prior to this where they told him the same thing. This office is out for money and after reading reviews on Aspen Dental I should have known better than to go there especially after my husband's experience. I called a local dentist, paid $95 for a regular cleaning, and was scheduled for another appointment in 6 months. Although the x-rays may be free, the work they do is at a highly inflated rate and possibly not needed. The scariest part was listening to the number of folks getting financial counseling to pay for their overpriced services. Stay away.

The first time I went in the office to get my temporary partials done, the dentist told me that it was the best she could do and if I didn't like it that they would refund my money and I would have to give my temporary partials back. The office manager then came into the room and said that he would have another dentist look at it and see if she could resolve the issue. She simply fixed what I told her was hurting my mouth and the temps were fixed. After finally getting my permanent metal frame in from corporate to mold so the process would be completed, the first time I went in the office the same dentist I had the problem with the temps came in with the non-processed permanents and said that she need to see if they were comfortable. Not only were they not comfortable, but there was a big space in between my canine tooth and where the partial started.

She said that the only thing she could do was to have the lab add was to fill the space. After sitting there for about 45 minutes she returned and put the permanents back in my mouth and the wax she had added to the perm. came passed my gumline and when I smiled you could tell that I clearly had a piece of wax sticking out the side of my mouth. Then she said I needed to sign a piece of paper in order for them to fix the problem before leaving. When I was reading the paper that was not what the piece of paper was for. The paper stated that any adjustments or work done from that point on that I was financially responsible for. Of course I didn't sign the paper and made another appointment for today to go back and see if they fixed my permanents.

The same dentist came in and said that if these did not work they could not meet my crazy expectations and would refund my money for the permanents and refer me to another dentist which would cost me an additional $800 (after already spending $5,496 with them). I asked the dentist did she generally insult her patients by telling them that they have crazy expectations and she said "generally no." I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ASPEN DENTAL TO ANYONE. They don't care about the patient or customer service and have overcharged me twice which I had to go through my credit card company and then dispute the charges to get my money back... As it is listed in my medical documents they have, I'm a brain injury patient and I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life at any doctor or hospital office in my life.

This is for the Aspen Dental in St. Clair, PA. I went to Aspen Dental for dentures, thinking they are a big practice and I would be good to go. I thought wrong. Although the staff, other than the dentist, was nice, they were all very young. They weren't even old enough to have any life experience, let alone experience to do denture work. It all started with the dental assistant doing the impression. While she was doing the impression, she wasn't even looking at me or focused on me. She was looking in the opposite direction talking to another assistant about personal life. Not even work related. The impression is the most important part of the process and the denture plate will only fit as good as the impression.

Well, needless to say, while she was wondering her mind elsewhere, the impression plate was moving around as she kept adjusting her hand as if she was preparing a meatloaf or something. When she removed it from my mouth, and I was able to talk, I told her it was moving around and they never did the impression again. It should have been started over right then and there. Needless to say, 11 appointments later and they made no progress because the impression was wrong. The dentist kept telling me not to worry about the fit of the wax try in, just worry about the look of the teeth. How can I tell the look of the teeth when the plate just falls right off my gums?

The first set they did, didn't even have any back teeth. They then had to start over but never started from an initial impression again. The second set, fall right off gums again. Horrible experience. Trying to juggle 11 appointments around my work schedule only to have it all be for not. The 11th appointment with still no progress, I told them I can't do this no more. I want a refund. So that's where I stand now. $2400 refund, which they have given. So I give them that much. Hire some experienced people Aspen Dental. At the very least, educate your assistants of the importance of the impression.

Even though she said I could consider that call my confirmation, they called later and reminded me of the appt. on Thurs. the 24th at 1:15. I was there at 12:40. I had to hire someone to take me over... My fractured ankle is in a boot (with the cash money to pay for the appt. and the dentures).

I was filling out the paperwork when a clerical person came and informed me: "Ms. **, you do not have an appt. today,." Say what? I repeated to her all the above. And said "Yes, I do and it is at 1:15." She told me they had only one Dr. available and had two other new customers and they could not see me. I said "I HAVE an appt. which you called and reminded me of and I still have a 1:15 appt." She then told me, I could not be seen, that they had two other new customers. I told her that was her problem but I DO HAVE AN APPT. Then she went and sent another person out to tell me, "I'm sorry Ms. **, we cannot see you today." I repeated "I have a 1:15 appt. and I am here at great inconvenience to me with the fractured ankle and paying someone to drive me over here from Tampa."

So off that one, goes into an office and they are all three talking and looking out at me. Then the 2nd one came and said... "someone failed to put you on our schedule... I'm sorry." I repeated "that is your problem, but I have (and you called me to remind me) so apparently I was scheduled to have gotten that call. It is not my problem that you have two other new patients... I HAVE A 1:15 CONFIRMED APPT. at 1:15." So back she goes to the office...

By that time everyone in the reception area was shaking their heads in amazement at how I was being treated... A couple even said how sorry they were for me. One gentleman offered me his appt. Then the lady comes back and says "if you want to stay until 3:45, we can TRY to fit you in." Needless to say I told her "no - not when I had a confirmed 1:15 appt." And I left. If this is how patients are treated at your clinics then that is disgraceful!! I do not have any kind words as a result of this for ASPEN DENTAL... No thank you and I will highly recommend to anyone considering work done there to think again. I am still in disbelief of this! I am a 79 yr. old person... It was very uncomfortable and on top of that I made a noise, and his little ** dimwitted assistant laughed under her breath right behind me, so the numbing process took another half hour. Finally he comes in to start to remove my tooth. He had to break it in several pieces, sawing and yanking for I would say 45 minutes more. Once he finally removed it, I had to get up and rinse in the sink. They took another X-ray and they weren't sure if there was a piece left or it was just a shadow so then he goes back in to make sure it was all gone.

I could feel him putting lots of pressure on a different tooth, that was another ten minutes of hell. They put no gauze in my mouth. I walked outta there with blood all over my teeth. Not only that I know he was working on me and someone else at the same time. I guess they only have the one dentist on staff in St. Clair, PA. Now it's been about a day and a half. I feel like I have been punched in the face, my jaw is so soar. So no I don't believe I will ever go back, very unprofessional. Never had an experience like that.

I booked an appt for myself at Aspen Dental because I know they do dentures right there and I would not have to walk around without teeth for long. Recently, my 17 year daughter was having tooth pain and the dentist could not see her until April 13, 2016 so I got her into Aspen who sees patients within a week. I took her in and not only was the wait ridiculous but what I thought was going to be a tooth or a couple possible fillings turned out to be, according to her treatment plan, $11,000 and $9,000 I would have to pay. Let me just say that my daughter has been going through so many procedures with her mouth for more than 5 years. She had to get so many teeth filled and root canal and some extractions. Then had to get her mouth widened because her overbite was insane. She also suffered with TMJ so it cleared that up. Her teeth moved so fast that she only had to wear the palette expander for like 3 weeks.

She then got braces and was getting her teeth cleaned and checked, cavities and now, she needs 2 root canals, 3 crowns, fillings out of the rear and then 2 separate intense cleanings? Come on now. Apparently the braces destroyed her teeth. I know one tooth needs the root canal. Her braces cut a hole in her tooth. I get that and have no problem but you should see the breakdown and she can't even see the person doing the root canal until April 12, 2016. I am needing a second opinion and just wondering if you think it is wise to get one. Are they truly overpriced and are they going to put her through unnecessary work?

Aspen Dental was assigned to me by Cigna as my network dental provider. They are a network DHMO dental office through Cigna which means I have a Patient Charge Schedule so I know what my costs are up front for procedures. Aspen has not honored the agreement they have with Cigna and continue to bill me up to 3 to 4X the amount I am scheduled to pay. For my crown, they billed me the entire amount and didn't even submit it to Cigna Dental. They tried to tell me that my insurance lapsed (not the case as the premiums are paid through my NJ State Pension) and Cigna assures me that my dental policy is in effect. I have asked Cigna and the BBB to intervene. Waiting to hear if they can get a successful resolution.

Today is such a beautiful sunny day. It's too bad I've got a psych myself up to go pitch a fit at Aspen Dental for unethical business practices... Do not go there!! They say your xrays are free but they gauge you like crazy for everything else to make up for it. This is not easy for me to complain believe it or not... The technician KNEW I thought the goody bag they hand you when you leave, was free, and no one said a word. I did not need an electric tooth brush (charging me 30.00 more for it than at the store!) Nor the tooth paste or mouthwash... YES FOLKS THAT WHY CHARGE YOU WAY MORE FOR IT AND NEVER ONCE ASK YOU IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY IT! I expressed my unhappiness twice regarding the price charged for two fillings and a teeth cleaning/irrigation (almost 2,000!!!) But they only offered to reduce the price was to take fillings, treated teeth or extractions off...

The office manager, Crystal at the Panama City Beach location could have EASILY asked me if I wanted to reduce my bill (half of it at 18% Interest BTW!) by Not getting the "gift bag" but not a word was mentioned about the items or the cost. Call me ignorant, but I read the fine print, and it still happened to me. YOU NEVER GET ANYTHING FOR FREE FOLKS... At 56 YEARS OLD, I am still amazed at how people can sleep at night after they treat customers this way, and that someone got one over on me AGAIN. I must also add that I about choked to death getting a filling.

They didn't suction after the shots and it numbed my throat and tongue. Only one gentleman dentist was experienced in there, and the girl who cleaned my teeth was super nice too... Though the "dentist" that did my filling took 2 1/2 hours to do it, it turned out looking nice, but I could tell she was VERY new. No way am I getting my other filling here, IF I CAN EVER GET THEM TO REMOVE IT FROM MY "AGREED TO PAY" BILL.

The other reviews are very similar to the experiences I have had here. My first appointment was for a cleaning, or so I thought. After a few long waits I was seen for a brief time, then left in the chair for a little longer. Finally I was told that I was not getting a cleaning and I would have receive a phone call to reschedule that cleaning... Which I never received. Finally I called and made that appointment for my cleaning. When I arrived that day I was told that I would have to pay $100 for this "extensive" (lol) cleaning regardless of my insurance because of what they believe is necessary; however having had a second opinion I've been told that this was actually completely unnecessary. Since this is the only place my dental insurance allows me to go, I made yet another appointment to which I told I was 5 mins too late to be seen and would have to wait to see if the next patient showed up.

From my experience and others that I know, this place is all about a scam. They ironically mention in a commercial that they don't take advantage of their patients and overcharge, but don't believe that (from personal and other's experience) for a second. For a second I thought this model could potentially restore my faith in the medical community in hopes of putting health above all, however I'm let down once again. It's a damn shame that medical professionals cannot be trusted and patients can't receive necessary, affordable, or appropriate care. If you have a different option under your insurance, I recommend taking advantage of that. If not, check out Groupon for a decent deal; at least you expect them to try to get more money out of you rather than being forced into unnecessary procedures & charges.

I have been a patient of Aspen Dental for several years moving back and forth between their New Hartford and Rome offices. I had to go to the office that was most convenient for me at the time because I required child care. I have had several teeth extracted at Aspen Dental since 2010. Most of them back molars. The procedure was always done by the traveling oral surgeon because the regular DDS does not extract the back teeth/molars. About two weeks ago, I had a tooth extracted. Tooth #3. For some reason, they allowed the DDS and not the surgeon to extract the tooth. I immediately knew the difference because it took the DDS close to 20 minutes to remove the tooth, which had been previously root canaled but never capped. Any other extraction I have had has taken less than 5 minutes.

The tooth came out in PIECES. About 5-6 pieces to be exact. He was maneuvering his tools around my mouth and at one point it felt like he was digging out a piece of my skull... In which many could say, he actually was. At the end of the extraction, he began picking at the last tooth on the upper right... Said it was going to need a filling. NEWS TO ME! I had a dental plan all worked out, priced out and planned and it did NOT include work on that particular tooth. I got home, looked in the mirror and there was a very definitive CRACK right down the middle of the tooth. Being numb still, I obviously didn't feel any pain but KNEW it was inevitable once the extraction site healed up.

I called Aspen Dental and told them I wanted to make an appointment to have the tooth taken care of because I knew it was going to cause problems. I made them aware the dentist had cracked the tooth during the procedure I had just had. (CARNAL MISTAKE) She told me to wait a few days and if the tooth started to present a problem, then they would get me in promptly. Sure enough, within a few days, the newly cracked tooth was extremely sensitive to hot, cold and any pressure. I called a few more days later to make an appointment exactly two weeks to the date of my extraction. I go in today for my appointment and they immediately do xrays.

The dental assistant who was the same as during my extraction asked me what the problem was. I told her... Dr. ** cracked my tooth during the extraction a couple of weeks ago and now I cannot take the pain. She looked at me quite stunned. Almost like an "oh **" look. I get back into the chair and Dr. ** came in and basically discredited my story. Told me he did not crack my tooth. He said that the tooth needed work prior to me having the extraction. ERRONEOUS. NOT A PART OF MY PLANNED WORK and financial quote.

I calmly argued with him, but he was refusing to admit his mistake and continuously tried to get me to believe the tooth was already cracked. I DID NOT HAVE THIS KIND OF PAIN AN SENSITIVITY PRIOR TO HIS BOTCHED EXTRACTION. He screwed up big time. He is young and inexperienced and this extraction should have been done by the oral surgeon. I walked out of the office with no plans to return. Attorney general contacted.

Was told by office manager after spending 5 minutes with hygienist and 5 minutes with dentist, after having full set of X-rays completed by a tech who cut my mouth and knocked the X-ray machine into my jaw, that in order for anything will be done I needed to give them $1600 for a procedure I did not want or need. Office manager told me he would not "compromise" his dentist's license by only doing what I, the consumer and the patient, requested, but that if it was a matter of money he would be glad to set me up with a wonderful payment plan.

I went in for services that were covered by my insurance and told, after my insurance portion was used up, and with nothing done, that if I wanted to proceed I needed to pay $1600. I left the office without having anything done, but now I can't go to my dentist again for 1 year because my check up was used by Aspen... This place made more mistakes in 5 weeks than all of my previous dentists in 50 years have made. After our first visit my husband remarked that it felt like we had just left a money hungry, used car lot. First, the prices advertised on their website are nowhere near the prices they gave us on our estimated costs of procedures and what they charged us. Outrageous prices for cleanings and crowns. Then, they somehow came up with a completely wrong last name for my husband and never could get it corrected. Still haven't. They said my crown would take 3 weeks, (longer than I have ever waited for one) and it actually took over 4 weeks for me to get it put on. My "temporary" was replaced 3 times because it broke into pieces in less than a day each time. I eventually just went without it. They said snow delayed it but it actually ended up in a completely different city, and that office kept calling me with appointment reminders that I did not have.

My office canceled my appointment once and then called me to complain that I didn't show up! I got a letter that said If I didn't make an appointment to finish the "ongoing" work, I may be charged for it anyway. When I called and questioned it, I was told to disregard that letter because the Corporate office just sends those out automatically. They also make you pay 1/2 of everything on the day you make the appointment, so that they can "hold your appointment for you". Individual employees were friendly but I developed a lack of confidence in their ability and knowledge very quickly and will never go back! I want a dentist that is not a corporation.

Before I relocated I knew I would need a root canal because a previous dentist drilled too close for a filling. I checked my new service providers and Aspen's website stated root canals and crowns, I even called to make sure they did both. I was told yes. Had the appointment and of course they do the typical X-rays and the number account. Now I have never heard this before and went to a prior dentist about a month before and had 0 problems but that main tooth. Aspen said I needed a special cleaning for my teeth and also had an infection in the tooth that needs a root canal. I was given an antibiotic. When I went to leave they said they would have to refer me to another doctor for the root canal (now they said before they do it) and gave me a quote of almost $800 out of pocket expenses for crown, toothbrush and a bunch of other stuff that didn't make sense, this was with my insurance share as well who pays 50% of everything.

They said the referred doctor would typically charge 2000 for root canal which means my total out of pocket would be about $2300. Now 7 days later, antibiotic has worked, pressure is less but of course the antibiotic is done. Infection wasn't 100% gone. I called to explain it wasn't all gone but tooth did feel a lil better but pressure was coming back, was told I had to have another appointment to be given another 7 day antibiotic. I asked why would I need another appointment for something the dentist knows was wrong and was only 10 days ago. The response was the doctor says there should be no need for more antibiotic and infection should be gone. Either way I will not be returning to Aspen and told the lady that.

Terrible customer service, charges that don't make sense, and always looking for a way for more money. I have went to another dentist and now out of pocket total will be $900. FOR EVERYTHING. I think it's sad that companies have become like this and think of money first and do not care about the customer. Hit me with surprise charges, insist I need another appointment for something I know isn't needed because of how recent it was. I'll be taking Advil for the next few days for the pain until I can start the root canal process with dentist who cares about their patient!

My upper dentures were cracked again (the FIRST dentist that made THOSE was screwed up too -- it broke 3 times in a YEAR! just saying). So I couldn't get an appt. for a month and went to a local Aspen Dental. I thought I had to get new ones! They fixed the old one to provide a template for the new ones (FULL set --they said I wouldn't have a good fit pairing it with the old one, ok.). I did not KNOW that they could fix the old one, and so WELL I might add. So I had it in my head that I needed another denture, no matter, and I had no idea how expensive they were, but I signed on the dotted line -- 3,300 dollars -- got my old denture back, and unlike other 2 times I got it back from the other place. It was perfect - not a sign of a crack.

So basically, now, I didn't NEED the new ones, but I had already signed (sneaky, pushy car dealership feeling), again, like the other person said here earlier and I said "Oh well, why not?" Expensive but talked myself into needing a backup set... and then I WORE them for a while. Well, they look great, and feel okay until I eat, then they feel like I'm eating with boxes, with no back teeth type ROOM, hard to explain. HOW could they have used the old ones as a template, and they are so different? Anyway, have had them "adjusted" twice and now I'm getting the "you'll get used to them" like everybody else on this site. Now I have 5 years of payments with high interest, cause I couldn't afford the 18 month plan of 180 a month. Could I have backed out of this deal the same day I signed? Too late now to know but I am curious.

I hadn't been to the dentist in over a year but before that I had several fillings and cleanings, so I haven't neglected my teeth. I was super shocked and even laughed when the dentist told me I had 14 cavities! She said I even had cavities UNDER my fillings. She also claimed I had huge cavities in my wisdom teeth and they needed to be surgically removed. About 18 months ago I had my wisdom teeth SEALED b/c the old dentist I went to said they were fine and didn't need to be removed, and it would actually be bad for me to remove them b/c I'm 33 and they are deeply rooted. At this point nobody had even addressed the original reason I came in, which was the 1 tooth with minor pain, and I'm already at 12 fillings and wisdom tooth extraction.

So I ask about the tooth in particular and the dentist said it is actually a 3 surface cavity on the tooth that is bothering me, plus the one next to it! At this point I'm just pissed and ready to leave b/c it was quite obvious they had been lying to me. They then send me back to the finance manager and she starts selling me two different credit accounts, saying I need about $2000 worth of work, including a $700 gingivitis treatment. I refused and left, then made an appointment at my old dentist. It turns out I don't even have cavities!! The teeth in particular that she said had 3 surface cavities, had ZERO cavities. I had just hurt my gum and it was swollen and making my tooth ache. I have never been more pissed. Aside from the fact that they were trying to rip me off thousands of dollars, they wanted me to have a list of painful procedures! I just keep wondering how many people they have financially violated and caused physical suffering to.

I'd luckily been warned by a friend about going to Aspen, and after my new patient exam the warning turned out absolutely correct. The good - the staff were friendly, competent and quick at their jobs. If it weren't for the bad side I'd be happy to be a regular patient there. The bad - Aspen is a sales mill. They're car dealership sneaky. My friend warned me that they would try to slip in charges, and sure enough it happened. Here's how it goes. The friendly dentist and assistants will give you a free exam and tell you that when you come back for a cleaning, you'll "take home an electric toothbrush, special toothpaste and rinse". They avoid saying that it costs extra. They'll put a screen in front of your chair so you can see your x-rays, but also so you can see any alarming things about your teeth being typed in to help upsell the products.

Then you wait, half an hour in my case, for the office manager to schedule your appointment and sign your bill. This is where it gets car dealership. First, I saw the overview of the charges and was asked to sign and if I wanted to put anything down. I asked how much the toothbrush was that the assistant had mentioned. She said $150. I was expecting this from my friend's warning and asked to have it removed. She agreed easily, then tore the overview bill in half with a barely concealed look of irritation. I asked for an itemized bill, and watched her carefully tell me I had to sign first before she could print it. I hadn't given my credit card and already said I wouldn't pay until the actual cleaning, so I figured sure, why not.

I signed, looked over the bill, and spotted the $30 rinse and the $50 oral cancer screening they hadn't asked me if I wanted, either. No idea if the toothpaste is slipped in under an unrecognizable name/code. I also noted that the toothbrush had come entirely out of Patient Responsibility, not insurance. At this point I knew I'd never be coming back so I said nothing and left. In short, insist on seeing your bill before you sign or give any payment, because they will try hard to sneak over $230 of unnecessary extras into your upfront payment. Or go to another dentist.

Sat in office for 2 and half hours before seeing Dr. Finally saw Dr. He numbed me with injections to extract tooth. Left room. After an hour and a half, numbing agent wore off. A technician (not the Doctor) came in an injected me with more numbing med. (Only) Doctors are to do this! Doctor finally came in to extract tooth. Tooth broke in half after much pain and pulling, I couldn't hold my jaw open. Doctor told tech. To get the "root puller" so he could get the rest out. Tech came back no puller. Doctor walked out, bloody gloves, people going in and out. They state they only have one and it's in the autoclave being clean. Doctor said he would improvise, make his own.

I'm in terrible pain and completely scarred! He's pulling tugging and the look on the tech's eyes wasn't pleasant. He finally got it out. The nurse asked if he was going to stitch it he said no. Gave me antibiotics and pain meds prescription and walked out. The tech just stood there. My husband's asked her: "Can you believe what just went on in here? Was this right?" She said NO! NO one explained the meds to us or any aftercare. Husband's asked to speak to Office Manager and he had nothing to say but, sorry.

We did put out this was their first day open and a Doctor called out. But, is this my fault? I'm in more pain than ever! There is no compassion here. I also found out Aspen Dental is a franchise independently owned by dentist but, ran with their management help. I'm still shocked that I was there for four hours, a technician injected me three times with numbing agent, they didn't have enough tools to perform a procedure, Doctor going out of room with bloody gloves to touch and get whatever he needs then stick those hands back in my mouth, the Doctor stepped out of protocol to make his own tools. I left there confused and asking myself and husband what just happened. No aftercare papers. Nothing... I just can't believe it. Please, stay away from this place. At least the one in Inverness, Fl.

She is told when she gets there that they do not need to transfer dental records from previous dental office, and that she has to go through a new patient exam, which altogether from the time that I dropped her off, was 1.5 hours. Too LONG! She even complained while inside and the rude lady said what was the big deal.

So she reschedules cleaning the same day and is told that she has to pay a $27 fee. With our dental insurance there is NO FEE for initial exam and consult, or regular 6 month cleaning. The rude lady says that there is nothing that she can do about it. What the fee was for was a fluoride treatment. (That is not required for adults and is voluntary.) After 19 years of age with my insurance, you have to pay for it. It was never disclosed to her that it was for a fluoride treatment, or asked if she wanted it.

So then she is told she has a cavity and needs a crown and it will cost over $600 that they want upfront. I called Metlife and they said that she did not do a pre-certification with them. So I went inside and confronted her, and she lied at first saying that she did. When I told her that she didn't call Metlife, then she said that she could. What she did, is charge an out-of-network fee, then when you submit your claim, you get your money back if you overpaid (which of course, you did, as it is in network). It's almost like operating like a bank, using your money, but not getting paid interest. In addition to the fluoride scam, they run an out-of-network upfront fee scam, saying that they checked and this is how much it would cost.

Sorry that all we can do." They look like someone smoking crack made them. I would recommend you shop around before using aspen dental. I wish I would've. Their money back guarantee is a lie! They've called us several times claiming one of us had an appointment at a time and day different than we know we first scheduled. They work very slowly, a 40 minute cleaning turned into a 3 hour task. They also treated their patients like they were completely clueless and dumb. Switched dentists, much happier now!

As if Aspen Dental hadn't done enough to really make me hate them now they have fraudulently billed my insurance. After my horrific experience with them in April I decided to go back to my old dentist in October. When they billed my insurance for my October cleaning it was denied because Aspen Dental had billed for two cleanings in April! One under Aspen Dental and one under another name (RJ & Associates or something to that effect). Does this not scream SHADY to anyone? When I called Aspen Dental they said this is how they bill for the "gingivitis" protocol which by the way I did not need (confirmed by my old dentist). When I asked her if they planned to bill me full price for my next cleaning, had I gone back, she had no answer. These people are beyond scammers... Aspen Dental told me on the phone that they had an "Endo who comes twice a month who could do it sooner here in town and much cheaper".

After first visit and multiple X-rays, I am set up for today. Am writing out the check before this is done and I again ask the receptionist if the dentist I am seeing is an Endo. She said she did not know and went in the back. I call my dentist to tell him what is going on and to simply ask him why he wanted an Endo to do it because there are only REGULAR dentists working there and it all blew up! The dentist came storming up front yelling at me that if I have any hesitation about being there and have to call my dentist that I could just LEAVE IF I AM AFRAID IF SOMETHING GOING WRONG AND THEM BEING RESPONSIBLE!!

I had every right to ask a simple question about who was about to "work in my mouth" as I have several horror stories about others. She acted crazy, humiliated and degraded me in front of my child and a waiting room full of people. She told them to give me a referral paper of someone else in Holland Ohio SO SHE CAN LEAVE!!! When I advised the office staff they had someone blocking the door and forcing their patients to walk thru carcinogen of cigarette smoke they all looked clueless? Finally office manager informs me that "We can't do anything is a public area." This made a bad situation worse. She told me if I didn't like I could ask him to move. The only reason I went to them was because of insurance. The experience before this was also one of the most unprofessional dental experiences I've had to experience. Looking for a new dentist.

My story started at The Largo FL Office on Seminole Blvd. So many things were wrong I am not sure I can explain in just a few hundred words. They cheated me, they lied to me, they pulled a tooth that did not need to be pulled, when it was time to get my permanent partial, I could not get it. Before I started the process I asked over and over when I paid them $400+ out of pocket, plus my insurance (they said 1100.00) if there would be any more charges, they said NO. 2. They told me I had to come in once a month for 6 months before I could get my permanent partial, while my mouth healed (found out that was a lie too). 3. The denture guy, made my partial wrong - it cut into my tongue on the right side of my mouth.

I told them for 4 months it did not fit my mouth. They kept saying, "its part of the healing process." When I finally got to talk to the denture guy his response was "How long have you been doing this?" I said, "Not at all, but I can tell when something doesn't fit in my mouth, and my tongue is cut." He left and got an aggressive dentist to come in and "talk to me" like I was a child.

Never seen anything like it. I gave up 5 months in (no one would listen to me) and chose to go to another Aspen Dental (Pinellas Park FL). They told me, that I have to spend another 6,700.00 so everything would be ready for my permanent partial, and showed me a trumped up bill that I never saw before and claimed it was from the other clinic, and that I had to go back there to get everything straightened out before I could come back. My insurance changes in January, I have no time, no teeth and no way to get them. They lied to me, they are trying to cheat me, and I have no recourse. This company needs to be put out of business. If there is a class action in Florida I would be happy to join.

At one time it use to stay in when I ate coming loose once in a while. At the same time they're telling me its the way my gums are and pushing for Implants that cost around $3-4k for a set> And I'm telling them I can't afford them, not everyone with dentures has implants! So then because they're new you get sores, so you have to go for an adjustment! Now after 2 or 3 adjustments too many they don't stay in at all!! EVERY TIME I eat they come loose in my mouth!! The problem there you very rarely have a dentist checking before the adjustment, its always the Dental assistants taking care of you! That's not good!

One of the last times I went in for a sore, 2 adjustments were made already then a dentist came in to check the sore and she fixed the sore issue right away, so those 2 adjustments probably didn't have to be done! Then they started coming loose when I eat and its been a couple months now. So I went back this last time about 3 or 4 weeks ago, now I actually had a dentist come in to check me, I couldn't believe it! He checked my mouth very well. Told me he thought he saw what could have been a problem with the muscle around my lower gums, made another adjustment on the denture and guess what, they still come loose EVERY TIME I eat!! I'M very upset with the outcome!

And to make matters worse, they realigned my upper denture for me a few months ago, that I had made by Gentle Dental, which is no longer, they changed their name, now the upper is coming loose a lot more!!! They advertise money back guarantee if you're not satisfied! Yeah, right! Try and get it! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I made an appointment with Aspen Dental because I knew I needed a root canal and was in serious pain. I didn't currently have a dentist but I did have insurance. I went in and they gave me X-rays and checked my teeth, all without addressing my only concern at the time: the need of a root canal. I was told I have periodontal disease and needed a ton of work to make me "healthy" again. After I made them understand that I first and foremost needed a root canal, the total cost to me was quoted as, well over 6 thousand dollars. That was with my insurance. They lead me to believe that I *HAD* to address all the other issues as well as the root canal, with a series of visits for the next few months.

They demanded payment on each visit in full. They did offer me a credit line through care credit and even suggested I max out my current credit cards. I was actually in tears while speaking with the receptionist about the bill, knowing I couldn't afford the work and was in so much pain, still. The receptionist skimmed through the price quote, looking to "cut costs" for me. She offered to TAKE OFF THE $100.00 TOOTHBRUSH they included in the bill. ummm... what? When did I ask you to provide me with a one hundred dollar toothbrush? OK? So I should be thanking you? VERY upset with how I was treated at Aspen Dental. The very same day I was referred to my current dentist by a coworker who also has my insurance plan.

I went back to Aspen Dental, extracted my records (only the one day's visit's worth) and went to the new dentist. I am very pleased to say that my root canal was fixed, crowned and I am no longer in pain. My new dentist didn't try to scare me into unnecessary treatments, treated me with respect and only charged me for services rendered. Also, services are significantly less expensive compared to Aspen Dental. AVOID ASPEN DENTAL AT ALL COSTS. They are a cash grab and use scare tactics to get every last dime out of you. AVOID. AVOID. Don't believe their nice ads!! I went to get some dental work, cleaning and I knew I had some gum problems. They quoted $2076.35 for the work that needed done. One was a crown for $892.50. There may be a $215.05 charge for core buildup including pins that may apply to this. I decided I didn't want to have the expensive crown done, opted for a cheaper fix. They gave me a printout with the total of $2076.35 with a credit of $1017.15. I went through their DentalFirst finance plan. As I wasn't having this part of the work done, I checked my balance, and this amount had not been credited, along with the $104 they charged me for an xray that should have been free.

I called the office 5 times, they said they would call back, but didn't any of those times. I called the finance company, they said Aspen Dental would have to take care of the credit. After getting no answers, I sent an email to the main office. After a few days, I got a call saying they had credited my account. I looked on my account, they only credited it $788.50. I sent another email to the main office, they said that's what they were supposed to credit.

I went to the Aspen dental place where I'd had the work done. I was in there an hour and 30 minutes. I don't know how difficult it is to take the $2076.35 total, and subtract $892.50 and subtract $104 and get a balance, but they can't do it. That's not even considering the $215.05 that I'm not sure they did. They didn't subtract the $61 my insurance paid, either. I sent another email to the main office and they haven't answered in a week. I'm thinking it's time to file a complaint with BBB. This place is horrible. The "cleaning" they did. Well, I still have brown plaque on my teeth. Run as fast as you can away from Aspen Dental...

It started in Pittsfield mass in 2014 mid Oct. My crown broke off my lower front tooth. I went into Aspen Dental and ask to replace my crown. They said it was way too small so they suggested I put in a partial. I ask how much would it cost. They said at least 1500. I said "how much for a crown?" They said 800 but they can't guarantee it wouldn't break again so they convince me to get a partial. But before they can do this they need to remove my lower molar so it could fit. They said I need to pay them in full so I gave them 750 plus they got me involved with Genesis Credit. Big mistake. So they got all their money from the day they put my temps in. I went back several times. They assured me they wouldn't fall out. I wasn't comfortable at all.

So I left to have Thanksgiving in New Hampshire with my family. My mom said "did you do something to your tooth?" I ask "why?" "It looks so wrong. The shape and the color are way off." So we started to eat, the whole partial came off. I was so embarrass so I took them out for the rest of the day. The next day we went skiing. I put them back in because I called Aspen, they said they need to stay in in order for them to adjust to my other teeth. I'm skiing and wiped out and landed face first into the snow and notice emptiness in my mouth. My temps fell out. I look and look, no success. I called Aspen. I told them what happened. They said they would make another temp for me.

I get there and they told me it would cost me another 750 but they would discount to 655. I was stuck because my line of work I need to greet people and smile. So I paid them. I was still not satisfied with the results. I should have just got a crown in the first place. I would have saved a lot and less headaches. I moved with my job to Myrtle beach and made appt with Aspen so I can get my permanents. It cost more money. I've worn them maybe 20 times. I'm not happy with the whole thing. They now sit in a glass and there they stay. I'm asking for a refund for all the money I paid, plus I'm paying Genesis 100 a month for the second temps. Total for everything is 2145. Thanks. After 3 months the problems set in. While eating one of the teeth fell out. Took it to them and they repaired it within 20 minutes. Then 2 months later another different tooth, fell out. Called and complained about it and they said they would investigate it. They came back to me 5 days later and said that according to their dentist the problem had to be because I was not wearing a lower partial and that was what was causing the individual teeth to keep falling out. I explained to them that I had been wearing an upper denture for over 35 years and not one of those teeth ever came out and had never worn a lower partial. They said that had nothing to do with it. I asked for a refund under their commercial stating that. They told me to bring in the denture and they would refund me my money.

I brought them in and had to talk them into giving me a receipt for dropping off the teeth. While waiting 15 minutes for the receipt I was fortunate to be standing there while they returned a denture that was repaired to another customer that had brought it in to have a tooth replaced that had fallen out. He stated to me that this was the second time he had to have them replaced also. By the way he had a full set of lower teeth. Obviously the problem is not with the customer not having a lower partial but with the construction of their dentures. Getting them to admit that is another story. Also don't expect any refund to be done in a timely matter. I had to call their office 3 weeks after dropping them off and was then told the following day they were about to process the refund. That was by the way 2 weeks ago... Still waiting.

I went to the Aspen Dental office in Columbia, TN to get a full set of dentures. I walked in and they all but welcomed me in with open arms, (I should have seen that as a sign). The young woman explained how their process worked. First they would take impressions of my teeth, then they would pull all of the remaining top teeth and enough of the bottom for a partial to fit. I would get a "training set" first and then in 6 months or so after my gums have had time to heal I would get my permanent set. She showed me some samples and said that the only difference between the "Classic" set and any of the upgrades was just cosmetic. As for the care, I would come in several times to get my soft liner replaced. So I got the "Classic" set.

I went in and got my teeth pulled and got my temporary set of dentures, they fit okay. The problems started about the second month when the bottom broke in half. Over the six months that I wore the temporary dentures the top and or the bottom broke maybe 8-10 times. What they "forgot" to tell me was that every time they replaced the soft liner they had to grind out the liner that was already in, so that meant that the plastic was getting thinner and thinner.

So now I have my permanent dentures and the top plate has broken twice. After I filed a complaint with the BBB they told me that the classic dentures only have a 1 year warranty and they fully expect the customer to come back within that year and get the much more expensive upgrade set. They made me an offer that they would repair the top 1 more time before the end of the year. Also, because I had already gotten the one set, they would sell me the upgrade top for $600.

I needed a dentist who'd work with me on an affordable plan. I live on limited income and am painfully aware of what my budget can afford. Utilizing limited insurance coverage to my best advantage (not the dentists) is critical. I stumbled across Aspen Dental's storefront sign, free exams & x-rays. Before the appointment I stressed this importance and they repeatedly assured me it was "free." On my appointment I was told they submit payment through insurance, which utilizes limited insurance coverage. That's specifically what I'd stated I needed to avoid. That is not "free." This defeated my whole purpose for going to Aspen Dental.

Throughout my appointment, the staff was insulting in responding as if I had no authority over my care and was too ignorant to manage my care. After unpleasant diagnostics I was taken to the finance office and that gentleman was more highly indignant, demanding I go into $2,000 debt for a periodontal cleaning. I asked for time to think about that cost & means of payment and he flatly refused to schedule the regular cleaning I asked for as covered by insurance. Aspen Dental tried to coerce me with insults and deceptive entrapments to enter an ultimate financial commitment for $4,532, all of which had to be paid in full before they would even perform any treatment. I've been insulted and taken advantage of by a lot of businesses, but I have never been so insulted and outraged as by Aspen Dental.

I find Aspen Dental engages in false advertising, deceptive business practices and indignant, maliciously negligent patient care that is wholly unacceptable. I would never entrust them with care of my teeth. I view Aspen Dental as a dishonest mechanic creating problems to financially benefit from them. I found Aspen Dental's manner so maliciously indignant, I am inspired to report them to my Attorney General as well as the Better Business Bureau.

I went to aspen in portsmouth to get 3 fillings on Thursday of last week. The dentist had pushed too hard and knocked out one of my front teeth. I said "no problem I guess as long as you can fix it." He said "no I do not think I can or will be able to do anything for it." I looked at the helper horrified but said nothing. Next he was putting in something and asked me to relax 5 times and pulled on my cheek hard. Now I have not moved an inch since I got there and I think the doctor was mad for messing up.

So after the 5th time he said "relax" and yanked my cheek for no reason. I said "what the ** do you want me to do!" He said "what did you say" and said "what do you want me to. Relax, I have not moved or done anything. So I cannot relax anymore than I am and if it's something else I do not understand." He threatened to not finish due to me swearing and said he did not have to. So I said "yes you do" and he said no he does not. Now remember at this point this guy knocked out my tooth, had told me to do something I was doing 5 times and yanked on my cheek. So I ** out and said "ok I am sorry for swearing" hoping he would do something to the mess he made. He finished and would not give the helper or people upfront my follow up as I need more work and no one has called me from aspen yet. BEWARE.

When I made the appointment I especially told them I don't want hear all this garbage about how they can save my teeth. I already know I need dentures for the top. I went in for my X-ray and exam and when I met the dentist she told me I had to listen to all the options. She was very rude about it. After agreeing I need dentures for the top and also agreeing I have an infection I asked her for an antibiotic. She refused the antibiotic. I met with the financial person. She told it was going cost me 4850.95 for the work on my top extractions and my dentures. I told her I can pay $600.00 every two weeks until it's paid off, if I would be able to be put on payment plan.

She told I would be able to be put on a payment plan but no service would be rendered until it was paid in full. So I went home and realized it was going to take me until January to pay it off. So I called and again after explaining this to them requested an antibiotic for the infection. They called me back, told a prescription was written and would have to come in and get it. So here I'm thinking it's an antibiotic but it wasn't, it was a narcotic. I refuse to take it because I have always had issues with narcotics making me severely sick.

I have called to cancel the next day appointment and requested the refund of the $1,120 down payment. I was assured this was done immediately. Usually a credit card refund takes 2-3 business days. I contacted Aspen Dental several times by e-mail. Finally I received a phone and again was assured refund was initiated and it will take 3-5 days. After the 5 business days no credit to my card. E-mail again, another phone call, this time I was told refund will take 5-7 days. Lies after lies.

Absolute unprofessional conduct. What surprises most is that they keep doing it and getting away with it after several lawsuits, settlements in various states. Insurance companies keep financing an operation that should not be allowed to practice. That's why my teeth were not fitting and they didn't believe me just thought I was being picky or difficult. Then tried to remove the tooth that would not numb because it was abscessed. Worst pain EVER. Finance lady agreed to compensation of the anesthesia as I am now going to have the fear of having removed while awake. Went back to get my bottom partial and it didn't fit yet they insisted that it did. Was literally attacked (verbally) by the finance lady who insisted that I told her I was going somewhere else to have the tooth removed.

Left in tears with bottom partial not fitting and tooth not extracted. Called corp or customer service # was assured that they would deal with the finance lady. They didn't. They have agreed to put me to sleep now at no extra charge however I have to go back to the hell hole to have this done. By this time my Restless Leg Syndrome has kicked in and I was pacing in the cubicle. The "cleaning girl" told me I have gingivitis and I'd have to have all kinds of procedure before the dentist would fix my tooth. By now, I was so tired (I have MS) that I just wanted to leave. General Manager said I had to give $200.00 upfront before I could have the special cleaning done so I could have the dentist fix my tooth that needs a filling. I even had 1st time patient coupons to use. I'm on Disability with no dental insurance but my brain works fine. I will NEVER go back even though my tooth HURTS. I consider Aspen Dental a SCAM.

Went in for new dentures. They originally said that I would never not have teeth; meaning, that they would make me new dentures on the same day that my original teeth were extracted. Thank God they did not try that. I had my teeth pulled by the Veterans Administration as part of my benefits and after a 4 week period of healing, went into Aspen to start the denture process. It's been two full weeks of daily trips into Aspen to get molds made and fitted. Repeated starts and failures and tomorrow I go back for my 7th visit and they are starting all over again, and claiming that my new dentures will be done on Wednesday. I seriously doubt it but am now at the point where they are on their last chance. After tomorrow if no perfectly satisfactory dentures are fitted I am pulling out and calling a lawyer so that I can get out of this contract.

I wish I had never gone in there. It seems like the problem is at the top with an incompetent dentist. Everyone else seems to earnestly be trying to do their job. May also be that no one there is competent. Hard to say but I am absolutely positive that they would not be able to fulfill their initial claim of dentures in one day. Hell, I don't want nor expect dentures in one day... I DO expect a finished product in less time than they've been given.

On the first visit they charged me almost 3,000 just for an extensive cleaning. Little did I know the ridiculous price that they added in for toothbrush, mouthwash, and toothpaste. They also added 7 antibiotics that were almost 200 a piece!! And this did not include the teeth that needed to be pulled. So I asked to cut the antibiotics which that lady did. So then I had a credit with the office.

The 4 bottom teeth are the worst so I was going to pull them and get the partial. At first they said I would have to do 200$ out of pocket so I said "fine, I'll wait and make a couple payments add to credit", that way I can just pay credit off and not have to pay out of pocket as well. Made a few payments and called. Then they told me it would be 1500 out of pocket!! And like I many others have said they just didn't seem to care… Very disappointed.

My wife and I recently moved from Ohio to St. Petersburg, FL and needed to find a new dentist. Aspen Dental was right around the corner so I thought why not give them a try, it's close to home right? I was due for my bi-annual check-up so I went in. After the hygienist and dentist finished with X-rays and probing, they came back to me and told me that I had severe gum damage, that I had major bone loss and that I needed emergency deep-cleaning and that they could not even by law do a traditional teeth cleaning because it was so bad???

I'M PERPLEXED...I was just told 6 months earlier by my dentist in Ohio that I had exceptional oral hygiene habits and that my gums and teeth were in great shape. Sooo I decided to get a second opinion and went to a private family dentist recommended by a co-worker. After the hygienist finishes, she tells me, "you take very good care of your teeth, your gums seem very healthy." The dentist said, "you could use some maintenance on some of your childhood fillings but your home dental care is great, your gums and teeth are in really good shape." NO MORE ASPEN DENTAL!

The Dr did the filling and after the numbness went away it felt strange and was sensitive to pressure when I ate. Went back next day had to make an appointment. Did x-rays and trimmed the filling down. It felt better. After about two months of having it done it fell out while eating a bagel. Had to struggle with them to get an appointment to get it redone. A different dr did it this time and said "you won't have a problem with it this time that's not falling out."

Well I was doing my usual bedtime routine brush floss and rinse. Well it hurt to floss this time but just thought something was stuck in there. Well while rinsing it fell out again. Called the dentist answering service. She called me back an hour later and said to come in tomorrow morning. I said I can't in the morning but can be there in evening. She said, "Ok well I can at least look at it but can't guarantee that I can fix it". I couldn't get to the appointment as I got stuck in traffic going there. They said that there was no openings for a week.

After the week went by, I called again to get in to see the dentist and they said they had no time again, only available when I was at work (I work 2 hours plus away from home). So I called a different Aspen Dental office to have them fix it since I couldn't get any help from this location. Got an appointment the next day at the Hanover, PA location. The receptionist said the Dr would take a look and see what could be done. Went there and before I could be seen they wanted to charge me for the exam. I told them that I was here trying to get it fixed since I had no help from the other office.

They couldn't do anything till I paid for the exam, and then she argued with me that I had not had any x-rays since 2014 (which as noted above I did in fact have x-rays done in March 2015 specifically on this problem tooth) and then couldn't guarantee that the Dr could even help me today. I walked out, didn't get it fixed and am going to a new dentist tomorrow. Done with Aspen Dental. This was the second time this filling fell out, and the third time trying to have issues with this tooth fixed. Stay away. They aren't worth the hassle.

For years I have been very afraid of going to the dentist. When I finally had dental insurance I went to Aspen with a slew of dental issues. I was informed that before they would begin any procedures I had to pay upfront, either with my own money or through a dental loan whose information was provided by them. UNKNOWN TO ME if I had spaced the procedures out over a few month my insurance would have covered ALMOST ALL of the procedure and I would not have had to take out the loan. If I would have had half of the procedures down and then waited 5 months for my insurance year to start over I would have only had to pay approximately $1,000 instead of having to take out a $4,000 loan (AGAIN OFFERED BY THEM).

Unfortunately I was not aware of this at the time and I reached my deductible before my bridge procedure was performed. That $3000 procedure was not covered by my insurance at all. Again had waited 5 months, 80% of it would have been covered. This company appears very helpful with your well being in your best interest. However they prey on people who are not informed so that their loan company can make money off of the high interest rate loans they offer. I WILL NEVER USE ASPEN AGAIN AND HIGHLY ADVISE OTHERS TO NOT AS WELL.

Imagine that, a damned potato chip broke my very expensive tooth regardless that it was a temp and supposed to last 6 months. Now it gets even better. 4 weeks ago the denture palate splits almost in 2 from the center line of the front teeth 2/3 of the way back... and they want me to wait almost a week to be seen... UNACCEPTABLE. I scream so they see me the next day. Will update later on result of permanent one to be done mid August.

Now after all that, my wife had always had a fair result at Aspen. A couple fillings, cleanings - she does not wear denture(s) Until a week ago. She makes an appointment to have a crown that came off and needed to be cemented back on. After they collect 1/2 upfront on phone (thought that was odd) since she was a returning client they have had 'scheduling issues' and have reset the appointment 2 times... Today they call and want to reschedule again. My wife said "No and please refund my card. I will have it done elsewhere." The receptionist said she would have to discuss that w/ the office manager who has yet to reach out to us.

Aspen Dental in Tonawanda New York on Niagara Falls Boulevard is located within 5 minutes from my home which is why I chose them. I had an appointment today at 4:30 p.m. I get a call at 3 p.m. an hour and a half before my appointment saying the doctor sick and will be cancelling. I not only waited an entire month for this appointment, but this is the second time they cancelled my appointment without any notice. I call the office to complain and the receptionist is completely rude. The other times that I did actually get to keep my appointment, the workers there complained about their job the entire time in front of all of the customers. I am so fed up with this company and their unprofessionalism, I told them I will not be coming back ever again and scheduled a new appointment with a new dental office.

I have been to them a couple times and got screwed each time. The first time was I cracked a tooth. My old dentist retired so decided to go to them. They looked at my teeth and said I needed a root canal and a cap so I was thinking OK let get this done. On my next appointment I come in/check in and wait. Then I wait some more after around 45 mins I go to the desk to see what is going on. The receptionist says "ohh you signed in". I get in after another 30 mins (had to get my tooth done).

The doctor does a check on my other teeth and then does the root canal and measure a fitting for a cap. Then the sales lady comes in and the doctor starts telling her numbers. Then the lady brings me to a room for a hard sell - the doctor says I have 23 cavities and I need a gum flush - "is going to cost $6200 but we got financing". I laughed and said no. Then she tells me my teeth are in danger of falling out. I told her I go to the dentist every 6 months and she shut up.

I made an appointment with Aspen Dental in Speedway, Indiana. I had been experiencing pain in a tooth that the filling had fallen out of. I had just had my teeth cleaned in December of 2014 from another dentist office (not Aspen). I arrived at my appointment and had to have several x-rays taken. Once I was called back to the exam room, I sat there for 15 minutes and the hygienist came in and examined my teeth. She informed that if I hear the number 4, we would discuss her findings. Well I actually only heard the number 4 about 3 times. She proceeds to tell me that I have gingivitis and I would need a deep cleaning as well as this special mouth wash and and an Oral-B toothbrush that I found out cost $ 129.00. Well, I was in shock first to find out that I have gingivitis! I mean, I only missed my 6 month checkup by 1 month. REALLY!!!

Then the dentist himself comes in to address the main reason I came, which was to get my tooth filled. Well, he introduces himself and said he has a couple of options, and then he proceeds to tell me that he recommends that I have a root canal because the tooth is still good and filling it would not help. I said, "well what is the other option?" And he said, "oh! you can have it pulled, but I'm sure you want to keep it, so the root canal is the better option." Well I'm thinking 'I'm sure you would because you make more money with a root canal versus pulling my tooth.' He said "I will have the financial manager come in and talk to you about cost."

Anyway she comes to get me and tells me that it will be $1100.00 after insurance pays their portion. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Well I'm just going to go to the bank and pull out $1100.00 to line your pockets. Then I ask about the cost of pulling my tooth - first she says about $60.00 then she jumps to $404.00. "Wait a minute, I'm confused, is it $60.00 or $404.00?" She said, "oh that's with your deep cleaning (remember I supposedly have gingivitis) and the hygienist recommends a 'deep cleaning' as well as the Oral-B toothbrush."

Needless to say, I am still in pain. And isn't just human kindness to give someone who is in pain some pain medication? I mean just recommend some Tylenol to make me think you care about me. But since I did not have the money to get this overpriced root canal, I am nothing. And you Mr. Dentist, your bedside manner sucks and I would not let you cut my toenail. DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL IN SPEEDWAY, INDIANA. Also, I had to go back and get my insurance card and the front desk clerk had left it on the counter for all to see.

Went to the Cookeville, TN office for first appointment and was super excited because I finally had dental insurance and a flex share card through my employer so I knew I could finally take care of a front tooth visible cavity as well as a chipped front tooth (needed a crown). I waited approximately an hour to be brought back. The X-ray technician was personable and apologetic for the millions of devices she had to shove in my mouth for pics, however when I went to the back the dentist took about another thirty minutes to appear. She was cold and impersonal and said very little. When I told her I was nervous and had a great deal of anxiety about dentist she literally said "I'm going to need you to open your mouth and sit back now." Kind of like, "let's get this over with." She said nothing else to me but said a bunch of numbers to the x-ray girl then left the room.

The hygienist was a very pretty bubbly pregnant girl that actually was very nice except for the fact she took a sharp tool and didn't tell me what she was doing but I felt her scratching my gums while like the doctor she said number after number. I began to taste blood in my mouth. When she finally let me sit up, I asked her... "Should I taste all this blood?" She then told me "Oh yea," I could rinse if I wanted... I waited another 30 minutes for an office manager who shook my hand and directed me to a back room. I let her know I was in a hurry because at this point I was going to be late picking up my daughter. She said if I wanted to I could come back to do my financing. I'm thinking, financing?? I have insurance and a flex share card with 500 on it, let's just hurry and "do" the financing and schedule the appointment to fix those front teeth, which is why I came.

She had a list of over 12,000 bucks worth of work she said was all doctor ordered work and only two of the items on the list, some kinda cancer rinse and something else, was optional. I'm thinking, wait a minute I only want my chipped tooth and front cavity fixed. I explained this to her and she literally told me if I did not pay the full 12,000 dollars to have deep cleaning, root canal, filling, etc that they would not fix my front teeth. She explained it that my gums were not healthy and they don't believe in putting a band aid over the problem, it was all or nothing.

Aspen Dental does all their financing through a third party, you do not make payments by the appointment - it's one lump sum, you pay upfront then you schedule the work. I had no idea! With my insurance and my flex share card I would still have to finance 7,000 dollars. The office manager/financial advisor/loan processor whatever she was changed her whole demeanor and became almost hateful and rude. I broke down and appealed to her humanity and told her... "Come on now, I came here to fix these front teeth, as a woman it's embarrassing and at a later date I can slowly pay for all this other stuff as I am able to afford it." She outright told me she couldn't help me then. I then thanked her for wasting my entire afternoon.

They are in the business to get you for as much money as they can. I could buy a new vehicle for as much as they wanted for the unattainable perfect white smile they advertise!! Most people have anxiety about going to the dentist to begin with and wait years before they finally decide to do something about it and it's really horrible that this was my first contact with the dentist in years! Zero comfort, rude, snobby office managers and clinical cold, impersonal, money hungry dentist, DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL.

I completed a required first visit checkup ($19 including x-rays) in order to be eligible for a basic cleaning service that was supposedly only $60. This turned out to be a major bait and switch activity. After all of the extensive x-rays I was informed that I may possibly have oral cancer. The 'c' word gets your attention. After this chilling revelation, they proceeded to do the measurements at the gum lines (???) and 'sadly' inform me of my tragic gum disease.

Evidently I have way too much bacteria hiding in my gums to even do a basic cleaning. I find this to be really odd in that I have my teeth cleaned annually at an independent dental office that is not associated with Aspen. In addition, I brush my teeth daily and use a waterpik several times a day. I never have a bad check up at my regular dentist AND the hygienist cannot make my gums bleed (which tells me my gums are not a harbinger of bacteria).

Why use Aspen you are wondering; the lure of inexpensive 'basic' services was my only draw to the business since I am not insured under a dental plan. I wanted just a simple basic cleaning. To sum this up, I was taken into the 'financial' area and given the bad news that the next visit would be close the $1300 for the 'deep cleaning' with a $200 visit every three months afterwards until the gum problems are cleared up. BUT - $70 of that visit also would include the cancer screening process - whoopie. The lady looked at me and said, "you didn't expect this, did you?" Naturally I said "no."

I really wanted to say a lot more but held back. Why bother? She proceeded to say "we finance." I wanted to laugh by then. I took my printout for the charges if I change my mind and want to get 'healthy.' My poor husband had to listen to me complain the entire way home but we did get a good laugh and I am not feeling so bad about paying much more to my dentist and hygienist now. It was worth the $19 reality check.

I also went to Aspen Dental expecting great things because of the commercials, however I feel both myself and my husband received poor care. We both dentures but his teeth were already out so he went first because of the cost. When he came out of the office he looked like the commercial with doggie dentures. They were nothing like his normal teeth and he could not wear them, and still refuses to! I went to them because they were approved by my insurance company. My teeth were pulled, my dentures came in in about 4 days (the temporary plate) which they said were perfect but I couldn't keep them in my mouth, much less eat anything solid. I was using dental paste just to keep them in my mouth, but was managing when the top plate broke!

I went immediately to the office where they stuck it back together until the permanent set would come in. When the dentures came in the bottom plate have a see through area. It is closed but thin enough to see through it. I said to the hygienist "I hope they will hold." She simply said "so do I." No offer to have the dentist check them or anything. I paid for the top of the line thermotreated dentures to receive these cheap ones and now a tooth fell out of the lower plate and I must have swallowed it in my sleep! I am going in tomorrow to see if they will make things right. I will repost with the result, but my point is I should not have to take time off work to go to have the situation resolved.

I broke a tooth on a late Friday afternoon. I called my regular dentist and the office was closed. I wanted treatment quickly so I called Aspen and was able to get into the office on Monday afternoon. They took approximately 20 painful x-rays. A dental hygienist did some kind of probing for bone loss and said I need to buy a special electric toothbrush from them for my gingivitis. Finally a dentist did a very brief exam, (maybe 5 mins), did not use a single instrument, and said I would need a crown to fix my broken painful tooth. He also said I have issues on the other side of my mouth and will need a root canal.

I was sent to the financial person who presented me with a $3,821 estimated treatment plan. I asked for an itemized list of these treatments, which she did reluctantly. She wanted me to schedule appointments right away and referred me to carecredit.com if I needed financial assistance. I told her that I needed to speak with my husband first. Also asked if Dr. could prescribe a mild pain medication. He said he couldn't.

Some examples from the itemized cost list: Crown - $975 (for tooth #19), Oral cancer screening- $70, Oral B electric toothbrush - $129, Gingival Irrigation - $64, Antimicrobial rinse - $26, Prophylaxis 2 times - $82 each time, Floride - $36, Antimicrobial gel - $26, Root canal, crown, etc for tooth # 29 $1103. I was able to get into my regular dentist on Thursday and he fixed my tooth for $120!!! I saved myself 3 $3701. I do not Aspen to contact me since I not out any time, pain or money. The office I visited was in Kokomo, IN.

10 minutes after sitting down in the chair for a cleaning prep the dentist proclaimed he would have to pull all my teeth and fit me for dentures for $4000 - or - they could treat my gums/teeth for $3000. Financing was available. I had the treatment with the "golden liquid" and signed on for interest free financing. Both decisions were wrong. My teeth are fine and the finance company has been difficult to communicate with.

Aspen dental in Taylor Michigan saved my teeth and gave me my beautiful smile back. I have no dental insurance and they did everything they could and more to get me in and put me on a payment plan. In a short time I got 6 fillings, two crowns, three extractions, an upper partial dentures so I didn't have three missing teeth. I ended up having gingivitis so I left with an awesome oral-b electric toothbrush and special mouthwash which cleared it up and now have healthy white teeth. Love aspen dental. I highly recommend.

I called to make an appointment and complaining about a tooth. I go in and all they did was talk to me for 2 hrs. After looking at my tooth for a min. told me I would need a root canal done and to schedule another appointment as I was in pain and sent me home. I was very upset because I went there for them to solve the problem and to take my pain away as they did not! Then I went back in another time because that same tooth has now cracked and half of my tooth has fallen out! I call to make an appointment asking if they could fix it. They told me they could squeeze me in, so I went.

As I'm there they once again look at my tooth for a min and told me to schedule ANOTHER appointment for them to fix it! I have half of my tooth in my hand and they were going to send me home! They don't solve the problem right away. They drag it out so it cost more money to patient and inconvenience! I shouldn't have to keep leaving work to make appointment after appointment and go home in pain or discomfort! They do NOT put the patient first. They're only worried about charging per appointment so they make money apparently.

I have never been so upset at a business. How could they send me home in pain and discomfort twice as a new patient?! Half my tooth wouldn't have fallen out if they would have just fixed it the first time! So I left my second appointment very upset and made it known. I told them how ridiculous it was that they were sending me home with half of my tooth in my hand and told them I will take my business somewhere that will get the job done the first time!

Still not feeling right but feel a little better. Keep feeling like something is in between one of my teeth and want come out. Will not be going to that dentist again and wouldn't recommend anyone to them. Going to have to find another dentist to look at mouth.

I asked to talk to a manager and the same girl at the front told me she was in a meeting. But called a man back to talk to get right after I ask to talk to her. This place is awful! Just wanted to give anyone looking for dental work fair warning. Good Luck! And try to stay away from this location!
