I've been with Discover for 15 years, never missed a payment. Or ever been close to being maxed out. My credit limit went up to $14k. I’ve even borrowed $50k from their loans and repaid it back with no problem. Here recently, I understand, went a shoulder surgery and was really needing my card to help get me through, and since I had such a great relationship with them, I applied for another low-interest card with them and not only was I not approved, which was fine, but they cut my credit limit on my 15-year account. So much for appreciating my 15-year commitment. They don’t value their customers, so don’t waste your time with this company. I will be leaving them regardless of how it affects my credit, and I will make damn sure everyone knows how unreliable this company is.

Discover are crooks. They do not protect the account holder. I was charged in error by merchant, and the merchant went on the phone with me to Discover to say that the amount needed to be refunded, but discover not only refused to refund the charge for which I received no services or merchandise, but they also declined to refund any of the interest for this disputed amount. Discover is holding me liable for something that I should never even been charged for. And again, the merchant was trying to refund it to me, but Discover would not allow it. They’re more interested in the interest in fees and don’t care that what they’re doing is unethical.

Discover card is fraud company. They over bill and when we have merchant (flying solo) dispute they send letters saying the dispute was settled in merchant's favor who never signed any contract, never gave any services. The project was due on October 2026 but services were already cancelled in May of 2026 itself, I sent disocver proof showing the contract was never signed by either of parties hence money should be returned but they told me they gave the money to Flying Solo and even argued with me and told me there I nothing they can do about it,

Discover sent me 3 letters saying they have closed the case and given money to flying solo $982.30 dated July 3rd and upon confrontation for weeks and months flying solo sent me letter saying discover has sent them letter saying dispute is still open dated July 17th 2026. Discover is fraud company. They are playing scam to make money, take away people's money and make interest. They are robbing people. I have sent discover many emails and called discover showing them all evidence. they are rude, arrogant and insult clients and keep dragging things, holding funds

When Discover was presented an opportunity to have my back as their customer and a responsible consumer, they instead sided with a fraudulent company during a transaction dispute.

My bank replaced my ATM card with a debit card from Discover. This was done without my permission or my knowledge. I didn't want a debit card, so I asked the bank to set the spending limit to zero. Some months later I received notice from Discover that my card # was used in an attempted act of fraud. I had my bank shred the card. Before my bank did this I had never received any promotional mail from Discover. After, and continuing today, I get mail from Discover at least once per week. I will NEVER deal with Discover again.

I’ve been using Discover for a long time, and then one day they suddenly decided to lower my credit limit for no reason at all! I’ve spent years making on-time payments and using less than 30% of the card's limit, yet without any warning, they decided to cut my limit by over $10,000! I wouldn't recommend them at all! Customer service doesn't even help you! They treat their customers very poorly!

I found this site after looking into other customer experiences with Discover. I had a terrible interaction with them a few days ago and after researching found that it has to do with the Capital One merger. Heartless company. I was a faithful Discover customer for 12 years. After the merger, my card was suspended as I was only making the minimum payments for several months due to some financial hardships. I went on a payment plan and wanted to pay the card off so refinanced my home to pay down debt and paid off the Discover card. My card remained unusable and the rep told me a few months ago that because I am considered a risk, they will “see about reinstating me” but either way I “will have to reapply”. I told them I had been a customer for 12 years with a spotless record until recently. The rep could care less and seemed trained to read a script and kept repeating the mantra. I called back and cancelled the card. Good riddance.

Discover has gotten terrible since capital one take over. The agents are given a script to read when you call in with problems, or so it seems. They use a 3rd party to send codes to verify log in info. They have a phone # that I have not used in over 25 yrs which is a landline. Both bank & card sides have verified that one 1 (mobile) is in their files, so whoever is this 3rd party is, is pulling from who knows where. I have been with the card for more than 35 yrs and am now leaving; bank side not quite as long, but still leaving. Cap1 has no clue about how discover processed payments, etc. but is trying to make it theirs. If you have discover - get out while you can.

I received a credit card from Discover approximately a year ago. I kept it for emergency purposes only. I was never made aware that if you do not use the card yearly it will be canceled which affects your credit score and it did mine. Second, if you want to reopen your account, you have to reapply and again, we'll take another hit to your credit score. I do not appreciate this fraudulent act on my credit report. Due to I'm in process of trying to purchase a house. I will not be sure you to discover and I'll be making sure that all my friends and family are aware of this fraudulent act

I have been a Discover customer since they started in 1985. All those years, they were a great company to deal with till Capital One bought them out! They are now Horrible. It used to be that if you called them, there was never a wait. Now you can wait for long hold times to get to a person. I had a dispute, and they told me what they wanted, and I did it. Then they said it wasn't enough. I asked them if they reached out to the company that I had the dispute with, and was told NO! I said wouldn't that be a good idea and was told maybe, but we're not doing it. So I am out over $500 without a resolution.

Discover advertises “Cashback Rewards” but when you try to redeem your rewards for cash you are denied. They will offer you a statement credit or gift card but not actual cash or an electronic deposit in your bank account. It’s a shame that they can falsely advertise this in every commercial but not have to follow through on their promise.

I am so disgusted right now with Discover. I wanted to pay my bill with the automated system and apply my cash back to my bill. Come to find out it's not applied yo my current bill, not applied to next month's bill...it won't be applied for 2 months!!! And of course, they wouldn't reverse it either. Why would they do that?! Horrible customer service! This is the second complaint I've had with this company and customer service. 😡😡😡

We have had a very, very poor experience with the Discover fraud department. We were scammed out of $3,000+ at a business in Cozumel, MX. Our Discover card was presented to purchase some cigars, but the business said the card was declined. Nothing was purchased or signed for using our Discover card. We were on a Disney cruise and already back on the ship when we received a notification that $3,000+ had been charged to our card. We disputed it immediately, but could not return to the business as the ship has already left Cozumel. We did report to the ship’s security department.

After, much discussion and many back and forths with different Discover customer service(???) agents, we were told that the business had provided evidence that we did purchase items(silver jewelry) from them. They supplied a false receipt and signature (that in no way resembled ours or was even legible) that Discover took as “proof” that we had purchased said items. Discover would do no further investigation, even though we were very long term customers, and this business was known to perpetuate this type of fraud/scam. As a result, we will no longer use or recommend the Discover card. We are also going to share our experience on “X” to hopefully save other Discover card users from this happening to them. Discover has many complaints like ours, and I would like nothing better than to put Discover totally out of business!
