I applied for a card and funded my security deposit over 3 weeks ago and before I paid the security deposit they said it would take up to 2 weeks. 3 weeks later still no card. Funding is still processing and was told there is no ETA when the card can be issued or when it will be unstuck in the funding stage that it's in.

Do not get this credit card!! If you find yourself in a hardship they are not good to work with and then if it goes beyond them their collection/law firms are the worst! There are plenty of other cards out there and the rewards with Discover are not worth it.

I have had to Discover card for almost 2 years and never had any problems I had a $9,000 credit limit.. I had maxed my card out twice during that time period but paid the balance in full both times!!! My credit rating was over 750 so I ended up getting a 34,000 loan because my credit was so good it turns out that the Discover card that did a automatic check and saw that I had that loan then automatically dropped my limit to 4600 which then made my credit score drop lower. After randomly checking my Discover app I noticed the decrease call the Discover helpline and got absolutely no resolve from the girl. They don't care. It's automatic, the computer does it. That's the problem with discover. They should look into my history and see that I've never had a problem but they're just a bunch of jerks like some of the other credit cards. A complete and total disappointment by Discover it credit card.

Discover asked for driver's license and ss# I.D., which I provided, but it took two more months before I got the card. After two or three purchases with this card, I was told I needed to provide the same ID again and have it notarized at a bank! What the... I have perfect credit, always pay my bills on time, yet this company required a second ID verification and who is to say there won't be a required third or fourth or fifth verification! It has been three months since I applied for this card. The bullying and harassment and being treated like a criminal was not necessary. I decided not to go through the current verification and dropped Discover, but first I asked for hardcopies of my final bill and letter of cancellation. I do not trust this credit-card company.

Got notice today that Discover credit card is requesting I fill out form for the IRS to verify my income to continue to use my credit card. Never been late and always paid way more than minimum payment. Been with them for years so I told them that's a unfair practice. Just went ahead and paid my balance in full and close the account on my own. Never will I ever deal with them again. I only open the account to up my credit scores. Totally bad customer service.

I called customer service today at 2:01 PT 2/16/23 about a payment I sent that was returned. I wanted to understand why it returned as there were more than enough funds in the account. Not only was the “person” “assisting” me condescending as if I’m sort of idiot but they didn’t even answer the question I asked. I was told “the info will be in the mail”. Great! Now I get to wait days for a letter in the mail rather than DOING YOUR JOB AND helping me understand happened.

To be treated like I’m wasting HER time when this is HER job is ridiculous. Change it to customer disservice for accuracy. Ps I’m not broke. I’m literally paying a 4k balance off and was worried as to why it was not coming out of my BANK account and rather than explaining it or trying to understand, I guess repeating “It'S in ThE mAiL” sure helped me out a bunch. FIX YOUR ATTITUDE. :)

I have good credit. Zero defaults ever. I haven't used any credit in the last 30 years because I didn't need any and wished not to have any interest so I paid cash for everything. I'm now 70 and retired and started building My credit again with 4 credit cards which are MasterCard and Visa. My home I paid cash for and owe nothing and estimated by value of property taxes in Texas to be $300,000.00 and all my vehicles I paid cash for and have more cash in the bank than most people so I really didn't need credit but thought since I'm getting older I might have to have some cards to give to family members to go buy some things if I get disabled. I also collect royalties on 46 natural gas wells in Texas but I have no "Job". Keep that in mind as I expound further.

So far my Fico score is 758 and my Vantage WAS 683. My credit history is less than a year old. I'm trying to establish credit and that's my main goal. So I get this Discover Card offer in the mail stating I'm Pre-qualified whatever that means and to call today and "no effect on my credit". Well that's a dang lie because I called the number and went through the questionnaire and they never asked anything about assets. It only wanted to know how much money I made on my job. Well I collect social security and make a little over $14,000.00 a year and rent one of my homes to a friend which is $600.00 a month and put that down too. It's all the solid income I have. Mineral right royalties are all over the place. It's feast or famine every month so it's unreliable data. I just went for SS and rent income.

They sent a message online saying I did not qualify and would send a reason in the mail. Well, with their basic questionnaire I totally understand why I didn't qualify but that's not what made me angry. It's because it was reported as a hard credit pull and they clearly stated it would not affect my credit. Liars!!! My Vantage credit score dropped down to 661. Poor company to do business with. It's little red flags like these at the very beginning that indicate some very serious issues to come if you ever get involved.

I had a card with this company for years with no issues. Then I locked my card cause of a identity issue. They state that locked cards can't be used and charges can't be made to them that is a lie. Over months they allowed a vendor to keep charging my card. I had communicated with Discover multiple times that that account was closed and they did not have permission to charge my card. The company still allowed them to charge me. I got sick of paying it and was going back and forth with the company about the charges stating I was not going to continue paying something that they had in writing was not authorized. The company took it upon themselves to mark my credit costing me 40 points of my credit score. Shortly after they did that it was resolved but the company refused to remove the blemish even though it was caused due to fault of their employees.
