Discover discover discover! You suck! I’ve had discover for about 12 yrs now… It WAS my go to card? WAS! I noticed just by chance that my purchase apr. was over 28%!! That’s cash advance apr???? So I called and they were not even interested in entertaining an interest rate decrease! These people are thieves and shouldn’t be allowed to do business! But TOO BIG TO FAIL IS REAL!! I have/had 2 discover, one just over 24% and the other just under loan sharking at 28.7%. So why is one low and the other high! But then I’m told they can’t lower!! Haha bullshit! You guys no longer have a place in my wallet! Btw capital one and discover merged last year. So capital one is now discover! Be aware of your interest rates with them too!!

DISCOVER has been absolutely worthless in helping us in our struggle against fraud charges. In April 2025, we paid in full our monthly statement. Then in June 2025, we were recharged over four thousand dollars for a trip booked through a co-booking agent. For over five months we were told, yes you have been double charged but DISCOVER does not have a fraud department. From October 2025 until April 2026, they have reviewed our case. Not once were we informed of the outcome.
Yesterday, April 16, 2026, two representatives agreed we had been scammed on the charges, and that we had paid in full all of the charges. Great. But they added, "We do not deal with scams. Only fraud." Well, according to good old Mr. Webster, the definition of a scam is "a fraudulent, dishonest or deceptive scheme to trick people out of money." So, DISCOVER, change your script, and just be honest, you do not want to protect your customers from fraud, you just want your money. Shame on you!

I always paid my bills on time and most of the times in full. However, after reporting some fraud charges, Discover completely turned against me and held me responsible for fraudulent transactions on my card. I caught Bryn from Discover's executive office lying to me on a recorded line, and when I confronted her, she retaliated by blocking me from calling every single department at Discover. I am happy to say that I closed my account.

Discover sided with a fraudulent company posing as Huda Beauty (this website had a non working email listed in their site I noticed after I never received a confirmation). I never received a product - but this company sent Discover a fake tracking number from the USPS. Discover wanted me to call the post office to inquire about the “package” - but I cancelled instead. I was a card member for 7 years, but $42 is why I closed my account. I can't trust Discover ever again.

We have had a very bad experience accepting Discover card payments. The level of fraud and dispute handling is extremely concerning. Most of our transactions are low value (around $10), but when a dispute is raised, we are charged additional fees of around $15. If we win the dispute, the amount comes back, but if we lose, we lose the original payment plus extra charges. This makes small transactions completely unprofitable. What is worse is that many disputes are marked as “fraudulent” by customers, and even after submitting proper evidence, the decision is often in favor of the cardholder. This encourages misuse and creates a high-risk environment for merchants.
It is also unclear why Discover is charging these additional fees. The process feels unfair and heavily biased against merchants. Due to the increasing fraud and financial losses, we strongly recommend merchants reconsider accepting Discover payments. In our case, it is becoming necessary to completely disable Discover as a payment option.

I have had a Discover credit card since 1993. I receive my bill yesterday it had a previous balance of $54.95 with a late fee $30.00. So I called customer service, and explained that we never receive the previous bill in the mail and asked as a courtesy if they waiver the late fee? They said we didn't have any credits to apply the request waiver. Then I asked why didn't we have credits? She didn't know. I then spoke to a supervisor and his response was the same. I found that very strange. We then decided to close the account because we felt they did not appreciate us as a customer after 33 years of never having an late fee applied to my account. Pathetic customer service.

I was disappointed to learn that a "one-off" missed statement for a small $21 charge resulted in accumulating interest charges from Discover. Given their lack of flexibility compared to other financial institutions, I chose to close my account. Discover has zero grace for long-time customers, prioritizing interest and fees over satisfaction. A quick exit was the only logical choice. Good riddance!

Ordered a $200 gift card from WalMart.com. Since the delivery was timed right after a snow storm, FedEx left the envelope under a Chunk of ice beside the road AS THEY DOCUMENTED IN THEIR DELIVERY PHOTO. They listed the delivery location as Front Porch, but the photo they took clearly has my mailbox in the background. My mailbox is 1000ft from my house. SURPRISE- I never got it but some lucky duck driving by did. Despite my detailed documents, Discover overturned my dispute TWICE based only on Walmart providing basic order details. I was a Discover customer for FIFTY YEARS. But based on how they do business now I am canceling my card. My dispute was rejected even though the merchant has tons of complaints for not delivering their services, but Discover sided with the merchant without giving me any reasons why. I appealed to their corporate office and received the same response. Appeal denied with NO explanation. Requested a courtesy credit. Denied. Bye Bye Discover. I've had a Discover card for years & liked it with the rewards. But this last week I haven't been able to get onto my activities bill site. I called & talked to an agent & he tried to help me but to no avail. I talked to a supervisor & she tried to help me and supposedly walk me through with a new password, scan the QR code & to no avail. If I can't check my activity on a daily basis to check for fraud then I don't need that credit card! I told her that if I can't see the transactions on my account then I close out the account. She did unceremoniously and said I could never have another Discover card. I guess all of those years that I paid my bill did't mean anything to the Discover Card Company! Oh well!

Following approval, I received a request from Discover to sign a document through Equifax related to the Social Security Administration office; however, I was apprehensive about signing it. Despite my apprehension, I signed it since they had already taken my funds and mailed the credit card to me. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, I received an email indicating that I had a message when accessing the app or website. The message instructed me to contact Discover at 1-800-DISCOVER.
Upon contacting Discover, I was informed that they had closed my account, and I would need to wait two billing cycles and ten business days to receive my $2,500.00 security deposit refund. Notably, I never utilized the card. As an Army veteran, American citizen, and individual with a disability, I find Discover's actions to be egregious. I am aware that Capital One acquired Discover. Discover's dispute policy doesn't favor its clients. I closed my account with Discover after 3-4 years because of a dispute claim where Discover ruled five times in favor of a company I was scammed by. I proved through receipts, phone and email records, and legal documents sent by the scam company that I was owed a refund, and Discover still refused to rule in my favor. Not to mention its automatic rewards never went through, and I couldn't transfer my cashback to my bank account (pictured). Overall, horrible experience dealing with this company. It's apparent they want their money at whatever cost (despite Discover Financial Services making a net income of $4.5 billion in 2024).

Worse company that I ever had a card with. I had a false recurring charges from one company. I filed a dispute and was told that we will wait for 1 month for the company to provide a proof and if they are unable to provide us with any proof then these charges will be reversed permanently. Yesterday I saw those charges came back, so I called Discover and now they are telling me that the merchant never got back to us or provided us any proof but we didn't get any proof from you. I asked what kind of proof you want from me when I never signed up or bought anything from this merchant, so how could I have any proof. She kept on repeating herself that if both parties do not provide any proof we put those charges back on our customer card. I never heard anything more stupid than this. I have other cards and never had such a bad experience. I will be closing my cards with Discover and will be advising everyone to be careful with this scam company.

They hurt my credit by closing the account and then when I found out within 90 days would not reinstate the account or have anything or offer me anything to actually deal with what they’ve done to my credit and me as a customer. Mess up your credit! Work with the Discover card. Totally terrible business practices. As an account holder, I receive emails offering me as a "valued customer" expedient loan rates with fast approval. Beware! When you respond to an already approved offer, and don't react then but respond later a "do not lend" is put in your credit rating data just for looking and then later actually apply. That flags your credit profile as multiple seeking and then your "approved loan" response is cancelled. And automatically rejects your application elsewhere. No matter one's FICO score is almost 800. The fact you compared offers from competing sources results in being barred from loans all over.
Discover should not be using loan approvals to "valued customers" as it is fraudulent and will in fact your ability to confirm your intent with Discover (an owned card company by CapitalOne whose business model is based upon "for every customer we lose, we get 5 new ones" which means they can celebrate getting 5 new ones. An unauthorized charge was made in October 2025, but because my account was paperless and I received no alerts, I was completely unaware of the charge or that payments were due despite Discover having my contact information.
Late fees were allowed to accumulate without any attempt by Discover to contact me, which is especially frustrating given my 10+ years as a customer with a PERFECT payment history. A single notification after the first missed payment would have resolved this immediately. Once I discovered the issue, Discover refused to help. Let me preface this by saying I've been a loyal Discover user since 2017, I've never once missed a payment, and that I did previously have an account closed years ago for fraudulent activity after I lost my wallet. Fast forward to the beginning of 2025, I ran up my credit card in December of 2024. Naturally, my monthly payments were higher because I didn't pay everything off right away. I don't thoroughly check my account regularly. I sign in, pay the monthly payment each month and then move on. Come October of 2025, I notice that my balance has gone significantly up. I figured maybe it was the interest payments, but then I started looking through my history.
In January of 2025, somebody got access to an old account I had that was ALREADY MARKED AND "CLOSED" for fraudulent activity. They used my account for $1200 WORTH OF DOORDASH PURCHASES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. Naturally, I was.... unhappy. So, I called Discover customer support and filled them in on what happened. They reviewed the charges and decided to refund my money, which only makes sense because the account that was being used to purchase DoorDash was one I was told was already closed years prior.
Wonderful! What an awesome company that I respect for making things so easy. But wait, there's more. A month later, I log back in to find that the $1200 worth of charges were put back onto my account. What? Must be a mistake. They wouldn't do that right? Nope. They told me they reviewed the charges and had no evidence of fraud because I was being charged since January and didn't mention it before. So, I tried to explain that I didn't know I was being charged because I don't get notifications from that old account BECAUSE THEY CLOSED IT. YEARS AGO. YEARS. As far as I'm concerned, I firmly believe that somebody working in their fraud department found my old fraudulent account and reopened it to dine on Wendy's three times a day. I hope the heart disease comes early, truly. What a disgusting company.
So, I have no option but to make my payments so I don't tank my credit score. Thanks, Discover. I'd love to lay down a long line of expletives here to really pour my feelings into this review, but I don't want to risk robbing people the ability to read how you've taken me from the back repeatedly over the last several months. Thanks.
