Went to dentist for regular cleaning, 2/14/2014,. They suggested I use Crest Pro Health to prevent the usual gum issues. I usually don't use the samples they give but I figured why not. I think I used it for about a month but noticed a funny after taste soon after but I figured it was a new brand for me so I would get use to it. What happen was I had dry mouth, a thick line on each cheek of my mouth, tingly cheeks and my mouth felt numb and a sore throat. I felt like my mouth was nasty and a cavity that was just fixed was starting to hurt. I backtracked everything I ate but never thought of it being toothpaste until I googled Crest. I am now using Tom's Maine toothpaste and baking soda but the weird feeling is still there but no dry mouth. How long will it take for CREST symptoms to go away? I used it for about a month.

CREST 3D WHITE LUXE WHITENING RINSE - I purchased this product on Friday and used it for the first time on Saturday night. I noticed it burned right away but didn't think much of it because Listerine always burned when I used it. The burning under my tongue was more intense. When I woke up Sunday morning, the right side of my face was swollen and I had big bubbles under my tongue. I thought that I had an abscess in my lower rear molar. I never had an abscessed tooth before, so I assumed that's what it was. After not sleeping all night because of the pain, I called the dentist first thing Monday morning and got an emergency appointment for 2:00 pm. The dentist found nothing wrong with the tooth, so he cleaned it out and put me on antibiotics. The right side of my face is still in so much pain and the bubbles under my tongue are bigger. I just Google my problem and found that crest is the reason for all this!!!!!

I have been using Crest 3D toothpaste for about a month. The last two weeks, I have noticed my gums burn, feels like things Are stuck between my gums but nothing is there. And just yesterday noticed dry mouth and dry lips and a sore throat. I'm throwing this junk out. Crest needs to step up and get this pro off the market or someone else needs to. So disappointed!!

About a month ago, I started using Crest 3D toothpaste. In a matter of minutes, I started having intense burning and irritation, I mean to the point of tears. I just assumed I was brushing too hard. Certainly didn't think it was from a Crest product. I've used Crest ever since I got teeth. Over the course of a few days, the irritation and pain was so bad I could no longer use a toothbrush, so I just used warm water and baking soda. After about a week of this, everything started to get back to normal. When I googled Crest and saw all these complaints, I couldn't believe this product is still on shelves. This problem goes back a long time and it's still available. Just shameful. There must be something consumers can do.

I've been using Crest Sensitive Enamel Protection toothpaste for years and tried the Pro-Health Clean Mint mouthwash. After a couple weeks, I had problems with pain in various areas of my teeth that gradually got worse. I went thru a 500 ML bottle, then stopped using any kind of mouth wash. After a couple weeks, the pain in my teeth went away. The pain I went thru is the same pain I experienced when I used Crest's whitener toothpaste, just occasionally. I would use it maybe once a day for 3-4 days, and started feeling the same pain in my teeth. So I stopped using that also. It was almost like the whitener and mouthwash were removing the enamel shield the toothpaste was putting on.

Crest 3D White Luxe toothpaste/mouthwash - Thank goodness for seeing the other reviews. I have been suffering from ulcers on my tongue, redness, soreness, extreme dry mouth, swelling inside my lips, numbness of lips... All acids, salt, spicy foods are painful. Can't get through the night without getting up a few times and swishing some coconut oil in my mouth. Has been going on for over 2 weeks and is getting progressively worse. I thought something was very wrong with me but after realizing the increased pain after brushing my teeth, decided to Google and see if the toothpaste itself could be the culprit. I just started using it a month ago... And sure enough, picture after picture of the same thing from people. I can't believe this stuff could still be on the market. PLEASE GET THIS STUFF RECALLED!.

After using 1 tube and 2/3 of another tube of Crest 3D White Luxe toothpaste, I am experiencing a dry, burning throat and frothy spit. The froth is forming on the back of my tongue and throat, and the spit tastes acidic. Also, the skin is peeling in big sections from my gums and cheeks inside of my mouth. My gums by two teeth have also receded since using this product. I finally realized that the Crest 3D White Luxe was the culprit. I stopped using this toothpaste a week ago, but I still have the symptoms, and it is very disrupting because of the continuous burning. I am concerned as to how long the effects will continue.

Well my significant other kicked me to the curb one night (that jackass), and I was all used to using the old Tom's toothpaste--you know the kind that DOESN'T DESTROY YOUR MOUTH AFTER A SINGLE USE. Well anyways, immediately after using it my mouth felt like it was on fire. I gripped the edge of the sink for I felt searing pain throughout my mouth. Of course, I'm used to the old saying "if it burns that means it's working," and I attributed it to either my tired state or something else. In all my life, toothpaste never hurt me so why would it now? After the the pain dulled down a bit (if that's even possible), I looked in the mirror only to notice my geographic-looking tongue as well as it being covered in a yellow substance.

After a quick Google search, the yellow color is usually attributed to blood. Immediately after I coughed up weird skin things which in retrospect was probably the lining of my throat but I assumed it was my taste buds at the time. Allergic reaction? I don't think so. Although my boyfriend uses it and isn't affected at all. The crazy thing was after I had switched toothpaste my toothbrush continued to hurt the entire area the toothbrush had touched. Here are some pictures that illustrate my current predicament. The first is a current photo, the second is about a month ago and the third is the ulcers that came later with this whole thing. Yippee. Bask in their terrible graphic reality, but yeah I'm seriously interested in a lawsuit of some sort.

I've used Crest toothpaste for what seems like forever. I had been using the regular Crest Tartar Control paste for years, but decided to Switch to Sensodyne because of some sensitivity. My twin daughters had been using the Pro Health Plaque Control, but one of them switched to the Sensodyne with me for the same reason. When I ran out of Sensodyne, I decided to try the Gum Protection formula because we had a free sample. After the first use I also noticed the skin sloughing off with a burning feeling in my mouth. I then tried the Plaque Control and there wasn't any sloughing off with this one, so I continued to use it. I've been using it for over a month now, brushing my tongue every day as well as my teeth.

Suddenly, one week ago, I developed dry mouth. My lips were dry as well as my tongue. My saliva has decreased and what little I do have is very thick and bubbly. So, like I always do, I turned to the internet and diagnosed myself with Sjogren's Syndrome. I talked with my Dr. and he said he didn't believe what I told him pointed to that disease, so not to worry. But since I'm not on any medications to cause dry mouth, what else could it be? I've continued to use the Plaque Control, not thinking it might be from the toothpaste, when the other day I wondered if maybe it might be the toothpaste, because my dry mouth went from a little dry to extremely dry.

I tried a free sample of Colgate two days ago, and it seemed like my symptoms were getting a little better during the morning. Then later in the day, the severe dryness returned, so I figured it might not have been the toothpaste. Yesterday, I brushed with the Gum Protection one to give that another try, and I even vigorously brushed my tongue since that seems to be the most dry. I thought maybe the white coating was causing the problem, so I scrubbed the heck out of it. After I brushed, my tongue was on fire, and my mouth was very, very dry. I had to chew some gum to get some saliva in my mouth.

This morning, I went back to the Plaque Control, but I skipped brushing my tongue because it was still burning. After I brushed my teeth, I went to CVS to buy some glucose test strips, because all I can do is drink water... with no relief and then pee it all out 20 minutes later... so if the doctor is right and it isn't Sjogren's, it must be diabetes. When I went into the store, my mouth was so dry I could hardly even talk. My cheeks, lips and tongue were ALL sticking to my teeth. You can't imagine the look on the cashier's face when she was talking with me!!

I bought a tube of Sensodyne to start using, in hopes that the symptoms will reverse. I have been an absolute wreck thinking I have some kind of autoimmune disorder because of this dryness. I haven't been able to sleep well because the extreme dryness and sore throat from lack of saliva. I wish I had read these reviews earlier, but at least I have some hope now that my symptoms will go away... I read back to spring of 2013, and I lost count of how many people are/were dealing with the same symptoms as me. Anyway, the glucose test strip was normal, so I know it isn't diabetes related, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't that dreadful autoimmune disease and my life from here on out will be dealing with this terrible dryness of my entire mouth.

I had read at the top of this page that Crest does NOT respond to these reviews... I wonder why!!!! I'm also planning to throw all of the Crest products away just because of all the bad reviews I've read, even if my symptoms don't improve. Good luck to all of you and I hope all of your symptoms (and mine too) are just a bad memory very soon.

After about two days, I lost my sense of taste. I stopped using the mouthwash but continued the toothpaste... It is about a week later and I still have no sense of taste. I was waiting for it to come back after stopping the mouthwash but after reading these, I guess the toothpaste can be affecting it too. Like the above person, I also feel like something is stuck in my tooth... Keep flossing but nothing is there??? How can these products still be sold? I hope that after I stop using the products my taste comes back?? If not I will be contacting a lawyer. There is no warning on the bottle about this!

After two weeks of sore, red, gums and bleeding, I decided to look up the toothpaste online to see if others were having similar issues. I was shocked to see so many people reporting the same thing. I was always told that my teeth were small due to my gums so I decided to give Crest Pro Health a try. When I noticed the issues I mentioned above, I attributed it to the product above actually working. Well, now it is the second week of the issue and I'm concerned. I contacted my dentist and she said that this should not be happening at all and advised me to stop using the toothpaste and go back to what I using prior to this. I'm going to switch toothpastes tonight to see if that helps. I'll report back my findings in a few days.

Was suggested by my dentist to get the Crest 3D mouthwash after putting in a crown. Said this would help whiten my teeth to match the crown... I don't use toothpaste much because it's too harsh on my teeth so I would pour a little Crest mouthwash on my toothbrush and brush my teeth then rinse with the Crest mouthwash. Bought this product on 11/14/13, and after two weeks and two bottles later, it was on a Saturday night... my top and bottom lips started to tingle and burn. For two days this went on (was not making the connection to the mouthwash). Then my gums and tongue were really sore, got a blister on my lower lip, that is still not healed, lips extremely chapped. After 5 days and my symptoms getting worse, not going away, I went to the doctor thinking this might be a primary case of oral herpes! Never had Herpes before but googled and same type of symptoms!

The doctor took a look in my mouth and prescribed oral herpes med. Took that for 14days, symptoms stayed the same... burning, swollen, chapped sore lips, gums, tongue, painful jaw and teeth! Went to Urgent Care and doc there prescribed a different herpes med thinking this would help! Still the same symptoms after 5 days!! Dec 31 stopped taking meds (haven't used Crest mouthwash since the first part of Dec). As of Jan 1st, I have only used water to brush my teeth and rinse. I'm still suffering from burning lips and dry mouth a couple times a week and my lower lip was swollen. Has gone down a bit but not completely. When I eat anything, my lower lip where the skin meets the lip part gets rashy and more swollen and takes a couple of hours to calm down so it looks half way normal.

Today, after 22 days of nothing but Vaseline and water, my lips are still very sensitive, bottom lip hurts and gets rashy when I eat (very embarrassing at work!) and I get very bad dry mouth and a metallic taste in my mouth after eating! Went to 5 different doctors before someone at work told me about their experience with Crest mouthwash and THEN I put it all together! Going to an ENT in a few days to see what the damage might be! Do Not Use This Product!!!! I can't even rate this stuff...

There was no infection present. I attempted to eat lunch and it consequently was swollen to the size of a lemon! I rinsed at the same time of day both days, had no other medications or food allergies present. I believe it is a direct result of the rinse. I understand this forum is about Crest toothpaste but I recently have had the same problems and symptoms with Crest Pro-Health Complete Clean Mint Fluoride Mouthwash. I bought this as a double-pack, it was Buy One Get One Free, on Wednesday, 1/8/2014. The next day, my tongue was sore. The 2nd day of use, my jawline was so sore that I thought I had something stuck in my gums. My tongue was even sorer by the 2nd day of use. I still had no idea what was causing this so I continued to use the mouthwash. Long-story short, Saturday night I decided to Google this product and see if there were complaints because I realized that I was not having any problems until I started using this product.

I AM SO GLAD that I found this topic and complaints on this website because everyone is complaining about the same thing with the same side effects. I also found these same complaints on other websites and cannot believe that this product is still on the shelves. Is it going to take someone having a severe life-threatening reaction before a class action lawsuit is filed against this company? Why hasn't the government stepped in yet? Why should I and other people who have trusted Crest for years, suddenly be blindsided with this product that causes you to lose taste of food? What is it going to take to get this product OFF of the shelves?

And by the way, when I woke up this morning, 1/12/2014, a fever blister had popped up on my upper lip and my tongue is still sore. Every time I eat or drink anything, my tongue burns like crazy. I am an angry mother because I actually gave the FREE bottle to my teenage son. I thank God that he hadn't even opened the bottle and used any of it. As of this morning, I poured both bottles down the drain of my kitchen sink. Maybe it cleaned out the pipes.

PRODUCTS USED: Crest Whitening toothpaste with baking soda and peroxide; Crest Pro Health mouth rinse (Have tried both the fluoride & non-fluoride versions).

Symptoms OUTSIDE MOUTH: very swollen, dry, cracked, bleeding lips. Redness & tenderness around outside of mouth. Constant burning sensation and pain.

Symptoms INSIDE MOUTH: skin inside cheek/gums is peeling and very raw, lots of redness. If I run my finger or tongue along my inside cheek or gum, it pulls off a good amount of dead white skin. Tip of my tongue seems to be cracking and bleeding and there are red dots all over my tongue and inside my mouth. There is a lot of bleeding going on. It was really bad today. When I spit in the sink this morning, it was an obvious brown due to blood (normal toothbrush and I do not brush hard). Nearly the entire day, there is a nasty metallic taste inside my mouth as well which I think is a combination of the Crest and blood.

This has been happening for the past couple of months and has been progressively getting worse. When I wake up, it feels like I haven't brushed in weeks, even after brushing before going to bed. Today, brushing was extremely painful and there was so much blood in the sink. I decided to do a Google search and see what I could find out about what was happening as a last resort before heading to the dentist.

I brushed my teeth today and rinsed with Crest mouthwash at around 10:00am. It's 2:49pm now and my mouth is still extremely affected by all the above symptoms - including the pain & nasty taste of a blood/Crest chemical combo. I can't concentrate at work right now because of the pain. I run a small business and I'm worrying what people are thinking about my swollen red lips and mouth when they come in and talk with me. This sucks.

This sucks. I'm glad I was finally able to make the connection. I can't believe they still sell this crap. It's causing severe damage & pain to many people. I can't even imagine how many people are out there that are going through this and can't make the connection. Understandably, most will not think that the very thing they use to keep their mouths clean and healthy is doing the exact opposite. Get this garbage off the market or at LEAST put some type of warning on the packaging!!! Would love to pursue some sort of compensation for this month of hell my mouth has undergone.

I started using Crest Pro-Health about a month ago and within a 2-week period I noticed that under my tongue and on the right side of my lower gums were moderately sore and a bit dry feeling. I was thinking that it might have been an allergy to something I ate, even though I've never had an allergy before that I'm aware of, but it progressively got worse to the point that the underside of my tongue felt raw and my entire bottom gums on the inside. It began spreading to my lower lip and this all took place within 72 hours of initially feeling discomfort. I went to my dentist who looked at it, asked if I was using a new toothpaste and put me on a 5-day steroid "Prednisone" which knocked it out quickly.

My dentist also told me to stop using that toothpaste. After it had cleared up, I told my dentist that I was going to try the toothpaste again just to see if it was the cause and sure enough within 2 days of using it again, I started having the same symptoms and I immediately stopped using it. The next day my mouth was fine because I did not allow it to get as bad as the first time when I wasn't sure what was happening. Something is seriously wrong with this toothpaste. Last February, my husband and I went to a new dentist and she recommended we try Crest Pro Health toothpaste and mouthwash. She gave a sample of the toothpaste and my husband and I went out and bought a large tube and a large two pack of mouthwash in bulk at Sam's Club. After the first use of the products, we noticed that our mouths were peeling from the insides and had a horrible taste when we would eat anything. It was absolutely horrible, but we never really thought about it being the Crest products and maybe something spicy we had eaten. We continued to use these products and a couple of months later, the corners of my mouth started to crack really bad. It didn't matter what I used on them, I couldn't get them to stop cracking. Again, I never put two and two together and kept using the Pro Health products.

About another month went by and I felt like the lymph nodes in my neck were swollen. I thought I was getting sick, so I waited it out and I started to feel like my tongue was swelling. I went to the doctor and she said I was having an allergic reaction to something and I had to have a round of steroid shots and EXPENSIVE antibiotics! That made me feel a little better, but the swelling feeling never left. About a week after that, I noticed that in between my teeth started looking stained brown. I looked in my husband's mouth and his teeth were starting to look the same. I didn't know what was going on, so rushed out to buy Crest 3D White Glamorous White toothpaste and mouthwash. I started using those and the swollen lymph nodes and and tongue started feeling better, but I was getting sore spots on my tongue, kind of like what you get if you accidentally bite your tongue or cheek.

After using the complete tube and bottle of the Glamorous White, I finally looked up the reviews and figured out it was the toothpaste and mouthwash. I went and got some Tom's of Maine fluoride free toothpaste and it was almost instantly that all the mouth problems from the last 6 months disappeared and when I went to a new dentist this Friday, he said, "Tell everyone you know to stay FAR AWAY from Crest products." The last three days, I used the Crest toothpaste because I had misplaced my Tom's when we were on a trip and guess whose tongue is swollen and who has mouth sores? That's right, three days of use and my mouth is all tore up again. Please stay far away from their products! They will make you miserable!

I lost almost a year of my life over toothpaste, not just any toothpaste, Crest. I have been using Crest my entire life, so never thought it could cause such a reaction, especially to the outside of my face. I could have died over Crest Toothpaste. Whatever changes they have made over the years for plaque, whitening, tartar, sensitivity, etc., was toxic to my body, and after reading other stories, I may be the extreme, but I'm certainly not the only one. Angry is an understatement.

My teeth resting against my lips was uncomfortable and would leave a impression similar to the feeling I had when I was wearing braces. It felt like the top layer of the skin on my lips had been removed and were extremely dry. It hurt to talk for long periods of time. My eating habits had not changed so I knew it had to be the toothpaste. I will NEVER buy Crest toothpaste again.

My dentist recommended Crest Pro Health toothpaste and mouthwash. I started using the toothpaste right away, and first discovered a strong burning sensation in my mouth while using it. I ignored it, thinking my mouth was not yet used to it. Sometime later, I noticed my mouth started to feel swollen and my lips were puffy. I first thought it might be from the peanuts I had eaten earlier, and maybe I was developing an allergy? Nope. I do not have a peanut allergy. I continued to use the toothpaste and still experienced the strong burning sensation... now accompanied by cracks on the sides of my mouth.

My daughter was out of her toothpaste one night so I let her use mine... She started crying, saying it was hurting... I then realized it was not just me and searched Google to read the customer reviews. Folks, there is obviously something in this product that cannot be good for our mouths... When I first used this toothpaste, I was so impressed that I ran out and bought 8 tubes of it when it went on sale. Over time, I noticed that the lining inside my mouth and cheeks were shriveling up and sloughing off in sheets. I thought I had cancer or something. I would rack my brains trying to figure out what could bring this on. Then my tongue would feel numb if I brushed for a long time. Now that's a frightening sensation, to feel as though your tongue is somehow going to shrivel up and fall out. I would rinse for 5 minutes, frantically, holding the water in my mouth for a minute to stop the shriveling up sensation on my tongue. I finally said to myself, "it's not me, it's got to be the toothpaste." I'm so glad I found this site/forum. At least I know I'm not going nuts. I still have 3 tubes left. This is quite similar and after this week, I am switching to Tom's of Maine non-flouride toothpaste. It is not just Crest but the majority of flouride toothpastes that will cause you severe pain. Not for everyone obviously but in the absence of any other problems, logic would suggest that your toothpaste is the "root" cause and not to sound like a crazy person as I'm sure you all might think I am for saying this but how much money do you think the dental industry makes on creating problems and then simply fixing them even if that means drilling and selling more product? The ADA (American Dental Association) no longer approves the use of flouride as a means of taking care one's teeth and reasonably so. Evidence shows that flouride has zero to negative benefits and speaking from personal experience my gums are ravaged. They bleed to hardy to get fillings done and the more I brush the worst they get. This is, in my strange opinion, why dentists recommend it or other toothpastes like it. P.S. My last visit cost me upwards of 700 dollars. Do not use, do not consume, respect ditch the garbage. Tom's of Maine costs five bucks but it's worth it...

As we use exfoliation for our face & skin to remove dead skin cells, this toothpaste & rinse is exfoliating the dead skin cells in your mouth, as well as disinfecting and killing germs. Notice how your breath stays fresh for 24 hrs even after eating & drinking. Allow the paste and rinse to keep exfoliating for a few days, (as an alpha-hydroxy on your skin) - the toothpaste is doing its job - and well. I started using Crest Pro-Health Clinical rinse last week, due to its claims to help with fighting gingivitis. The first time I used it, my mouth burned a bit, but I thought that was because it was working (although the fact that it's opaque white when spit out was suspicious). Later I noticed a stringy white film near my gums which began bleeding a lot, and my teeth hurt along the gum line. Then my tongue became numb and I couldn't really taste anything; a molar that I was already having problems with started feeling loose.

I googled my symptoms and this was one of the first sites that came up. My toothpaste (A&H Baking Soda) helped a little bit. After the second occurrence of this I guessed that it was the mouthwash, stopped using it and while there is still a slight burning sensation, the other symptoms have all but vanished. This has not happened with any other mouthwash I have ever used (ACT, Biotene, Listerine, etc). I can't believe this stuff is still on the shelves with all the complaints I'm finding.

I used Crest Pro-Health Mouthwash for the first time on Wednesday. Continued use on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, I couldn't taste my food. On Friday at lunch, I started feeling a small painful/tingly sensation on my tongue, and had to place food carefully on my tongue. I didn't make the connection and continued to use the mouthwash on Friday night. By Saturday morning, my tongue felt like it had been burnt, but I could still speak and eat properly, just had to avoid placing food on that area of my tongue. By Saturday night, I could barely put anything in my mouth without severe pain. My tongue (mostly on the tip and around the sides) had several raised little red bumps that hurt. It felt like hundreds of canker sores all over! I also had a dry mouth feeling and metallic taste. My tongue also had a white coating all over. However, Saturday night I could still talk with slight pain.

That night, I googled it, which led me to this site and connected all the dots. On Sunday morning until now (it's Tuesday afternoon as I write), it hurt to talk - so much so that I don't unless it's to break up a fight between my 2- and 4-year-old! It makes going to work very difficult as it pains to speak. Any contact my tongue has with the top of my mouth is extremely painful. This has also ruined my long weekend vacation as it was difficult not being able to speak while on vacation, nor enjoy any of the food at the restaurants.

Today, on Tuesday, I went to a walk-in clinic, and the doctor told me there was nothing he could do for me. He advised me to stop using even toothpaste, to brush my teeth with water, and coat my tongue with Vaseline. He advised it should heal in 7 to 10 days. It's been 4 days now of severe pain. I can report the pain is not getting worse (but I don't think it could), but not significantly improving. I am drinking out of a straw, and eating milkshakes / yogurt drinks to satisfy my hunger.

AVOID CREST PRO-HEALTH. There is something in this line that reacts to your tongue/gums. This is more painful than giving birth without an epidural and I've done that twice!

I have had gum and tooth sensitivity for the past 8 months and just traced it back to Crest Pro health toothpaste. I received a trial tube from my dentist in November and used it for about a month until it was used up. I didn't buy a replacement tube because I had a full tube of my other toothpaste left. I started having sensitivity about 3 weeks after I used it but it went away after about a month of not using the toothpaste. I assumed it was a certain food I had eaten that was irritating my gums during that period. Then my daughter went to the dentist and came home with a sample tube and I used hers and started having the same problems but still didn't associate it with the toothpaste. The tube was used up in a few weeks so just like before the sensitivity got better.

I returned to the dentist in May for my regular checkup and received another trial tube of Crest Pro health and this time when I started having sensitivity I decided buy a tube of Crest Pro health for gums to see if it would help. Of course this only made matters worse. Within a month of using Crest Pro health my gums and teeth were throbbing so bad that I called for an emergency apt the next day. The dentist had no idea what the problem was and put me on antibiotics for 2 weeks to treat me for a gum infection. The antibiotic did nothing to help the problem so the dentist went back and smoothed a previous filling near the gum line in case it was causing irritation to the gum around that tooth. This also did nothing.

By the second week of antibiotics the problem was getting worse instead of better. At this point I tried to figure out what I had done differently since November and I remembered the toothpaste I had gotten and used off and on. I googled complaints about Crest Pro health and found 100's of complaints with very similar symptoms so I stopped using the toothpaste immediately. It has been 6 days and it seems to be getting better but at a very slow pace. My gums are scaly and peeling almost like I have 3rd degree burns in my mouth. My tongue is dry and I cannot seem to drink enough water to hydrate myself or my mouth. Crest should be ashamed for putting a product like this on the market. The pain from this was like nothing I have ever experienced before and it has been going on for a month now. It was the most frustrating thing to try to figure out.

Why would a reputable company put out a toothpaste as well as a matching mouthwash that is like an acid wash for your mouth? The mouthwash also had a warning that it may cause brown staining on your teeth but they can be removed by having a professional cleaning. What toothpaste company puts something on the market that can turn your teeth brown and yes I also had that problem but it was nothing compared to the gum pain. It was all along the rim of my mouth on the top and bottom at the gum line and it made my teeth throb like I had an abscess or something. I have always taken care of my teeth and have NEVER had a problem like this before. Crest should take this off the market immediately. It is like brushing your teeth with ACID....

I was freaking out trying to diagnose myself online as I do not have health insurance at the moment and I talked to my aunt who is in the medical field to get her opinion. Even after a couple of hours, my mouth STILL feels numb and almost uncomfortably raw.

I phoned the 1-800 number on the tube and gave my concerns and details as to where I purchased the product. I asked if I could speak to someone who would look into serious reactions to a product. I was told that there would be no such person to speak with and was told someone would follow up with me through a letter in the mail. Also, I was offered a "coupon" for a free tube of another Crest product of my choice. I insisted on speaking to someone in their "Health and Safety" department but I was told again that it wasn't possible. I then told the person I spoke with that this is a serious health issue and I was sure there were other people having similar reactions to this toothpaste. The person stated that I must have experienced an "allergic reaction" and it's "NOT" common. I insisted that my concerns be forwarded to Health & Safety immediately and that I would be expecting a personal response to address this health concern. I was told this issue would be passed on and my free coupon would be in the mail.

Hopefully, parents are not purchasing this product for their children as this could be a real concern for them. This product should be removed off the shelves for safety reasons. Shame on P&G for minimizing their consumers' voice.

For the last couple of months, my husband had a daily nauseous feeling and had a hard time keeping food down. He has been to the doctor and has just had 2 tests done by a specialist trying to figure out what is going on with his body. He has quit taking all medications and vitamins, except for his insulin, because we are trying to figure out what he has done differently in the last 2 months. He has been so anxious and scared thinking perhaps he is really sick. He has lost 20 pounds because he can't keep much down.

I have heard him on a couple of occasions say that it starts when he brushes his teeth. He is at the end of his toothpaste so I started to think he probably started this tube about 2 months ago. This morning, I switched tubes with him and used his toothpaste. Everything seemed fine. I went for a walk and came home and made some veggie juice. I am having the hardest time getting my juice down. I feel very nauseous. I think we found the problem. I decided to Google the reviews for Crest 3D White Toothpaste and found this site. For the last 7 months, I have had a terrible rash on my face which started with severely chapped lips; it spread to around my mouth and migrated to my whole face and neck. I went through 2 prescriptions of steroids, 10 days of antibiotics, and countless prescription creams. I saw an allergist, my dermatologist 3 times, and my primary care doctor multiple times. After being on a Zantac and allergy pill every morning, with a chaser of an antihistamine at night, for a week, I had enough. I avoided everything that was not in my usual personal care arsenal, as I have always had very sensitive skin. Then I just decided to switch my toothpaste, more out of curiosity.

I am seeing a significant improvement, with no meds or creams, just from stopping the use of this brand. At times, my face looked as though I had a severe chemical burn. It was swollen frequently, red and hot to the touch. My skin was literally peeling off in sheets. The toothpaste was poisoning me! I am totally convinced that it was the cause that till now, no doctor or specialist had been able to diagnose. I don't know what's in it, but for me, it turned out to be very dangerous.

I had stopped using Crest and switched to Biotene and my problem continued. That is because the fluoride, I presume, in Crest had completely ruined my mouth and made me overly sensitive to any fluoride. I had to completely stop using toothpaste with Fluoride. Unfortunately, even after 2 years, all the damage has not been repaired. The skin on the roof of my mouth just keeps sloughing off and I haven't found a fix. The important point is that you should stop all fluoride to start the recovery.

The first few days here, I noticed that I always felt like there was a film on the back of my teeth, but assumed it was the new toothbrush I had. But then, I started getting crazy amounts of painful canker sores underneath my tongue, and my gums were very sore each time I brushed. That persisted, and I was thinking it was some kind of African mouth bacteria. After about a week of that, I started waking up with swollen lips. My bottom lip would swell so bad sometimes that it would cause splitting at the corners of my mouth.

I went to a clinic, and they gave me antihistamines, which did nothing. I tried different mouthwashes. I ended up consuming my stash of broad-spectrum antibiotics these last few days in case it was a bacterial infection. It sort of helped, but the lip swelling in the morning remained. Only today did it occur to me that the common denominator was the freaking Crest toothpaste! Then I read this stuff all over the internet, people have the exact same symptoms. So, who's filing the class action suit? I'm in Africa until this fall, but I'm in when it's time to take action. I have never had a reaction to any oral treatment, toothpaste or rinse, until my latest purchase of Crest Pro Health Plaque Control. The pain and discomfort is indescribable, but I will try my best as others have done here. After my first day of use, I began to develop pain in my gums. I initially chalked that up to the new toothbrush I also purchased. On the second day, I began developing a tingling sensation on my tongue. I thought maybe I had drunk my coffee too hot. On the third day, the outside of my lips started to rash, my throat was sore, and the tingling on my tongue turned to full-on pain. I realized that it was all too coincidental and had to be caused by the new toothpaste. I quickly discontinued use of Crest Pro Health and started using Sensodyne hoping to soothe some of the discomfort. No luck.

It took me three years and thousands of dollars in medical bills and ER visits, one which almost killed me. What they had in common was the fact that I would brush my teeth with Crest before I went to work and before I went to bed. I was at an allergist at a hospital, which is world known (people travel all from all over to go to this hospital). They said I was latex sensitive and needed to avoid latex for the rest of my life. I refused to believe them. There is no way I was latex sensitive. So one day my wife and I went shopping and I wanted to try this new toothpaste. So I did.

Within the first 7 days of using this new toothpaste Luster, my symptoms began to disappear. I did not notice the change until about 7 days into using the new toothpaste. I called my wife and asked her what did I change that would clear me up. She said toothpaste. I was so shocked that Crest toothpaste would cause my life to be turned upside down. So if you are having skin problems and it does not have to be just around your mouth, it can be all over, I suggest you stop using Crest toothpaste and begin Luster toothpaste or something without all the chemicals in it. I've been taking various pain killers for the last couple of weeks to numb the pain, switching between Tylenol Extra Strength and an IB so they would be more effective if I became tolerant or immune to one or the other, until they didn't work anymore. Anyway, I became skeptical because I couldn't pinpoint the source, then I realized that the pain was in every area in my mouth; upper right, lower right, upper left, lower left, and front inner. The sensitivity has gotten so high that it causes pain just to eat a sandwich out of the fridge! The sensation of a cold juice is painful now and my teeth has never been sensitive my whole life.

The last straw was when I began taking pain killers every four hours to numb the pain, so something told me to go check the toothpaste. Maybe I missed a warning on the packaging. I got home from work and checked the labels on my Crest 3D White, but I saw no warnings so I Googled it. The results led me here after a day and a half of research. I am so upset with myself for not catching this earlier because whatever hygiene products I use, my 12 year old son also uses. It feels like I dropped the ball on this one, because I had asked him about his teeth and he also said it hurt him for a long period of time after drinking milk from the fridge. I brush more frequently than him and my teeth are hurting, without having a cold or warm sensation anymore. I'm at work right now, in pain, but when I get home I'm taking that Crest from my trash and contacting a lawyer ASAP because I see now that it's not just me. I don't understand why there isn't a recall or something.

I started using Pro-Health Clinical toothpaste about three weeks ago. About two weeks ago, I started having very sore gums, canker-like sores in my mouth and gums, a sore, burning tongue, and tingling lips. I am convinced the problem started because of the toothpaste as there have been no other changes in my life that would have caused these symptoms. I am livid there were no warnings on the package. My mouth is a sore hurting mess ... to the point it hurts to eat and drink. I'm so disappointed in Crest. I've been a Crest user all my life until tonight. I bought another brand and hope this mouth heals soon. I, too, think a class action lawsuit is in order and the FDA should require different labeling or remove this product from the market immediately.

I've been using it for at least 6 weeks and noticed every time I use it, my mouth is on fire and so are my lips; but I thought that was normal for this toothpaste to work. So then my back teeth began to break off. I was literally chewing gum today in class and pieces of my teeth were in my gum, like WTH is really happening. How do I let Crest know what's going on with their crappy product? I'm really upset; I don't have the best set of teeth, but I don't want toothpaste to ruin the good ones that I do have.

So glad I found this site! I've been searching all evening for causes for my burning mouth and other symptoms. It was only when I tried to think of the common factor did that light bulb go off. Crest toothpaste! I have been using Crest Whitening with Scope. For the first few months, it wasn't bad. Just a bit of discomfort that I always tried to attribute to something else - not once thinking it could be the toothpaste. But in recent weeks, the sensations have intensified. I have a burning, tingling feeling on my tongue and whole mouth including inside lips. About a week ago, it felt like there was a hair on my tongue. Then it went numb in that spot, then feeling returned within seconds. I went to the doctor later on, but everything is good.

There are times my lips feel swollen and numb. I have a bad taste in my mouth that isn't there first thing in the morning. My tongue gets sore sometimes to the point that I slur when I talk because it hurts when my tongue rubs against my teeth. As I write this, my tongue is sore on the side like I've bitten it. Then last night, my teeth and gums started really aching and it hurts to put any pressure on or bite. My gums have been sore in the recent weeks, but not to this extent! My mouth feels terribly yucky today. I have been blaming it on food and drink that I never had problems with before! That brought me to my online search. I can assure you, I won't be using Crest if this is the reaction. I don't need to whiten my teeth that badly - not if it means losing teeth or causing harm!

The next day, one side of his face was swollen up to his ear and he looked like he had mumps. The swelling was gone after about 48 hours. Five days later, his mouth was still a little sore. When he ate a clementine, he experienced the same swelling reaction in his face. We believe that the mouthwash irritated the interior of his mouth so badly that when he ate the acidic clementine, it was like putting vinegar on an open wound. This is a horrible product with an abundance of people experiencing a similar reaction. It should not be allowed to be on the market. There should be a class action lawsuit regarding this product.

In August this year, I started a new job and I wanted to impress with a nice, white smile. In the past, I'd tried dentist prescribed products and it caused too much tooth sensitivity so I knew my best bet was an OTC whitening toothpaste. I purchased the Crest 3D white Luxe. I was so excited about trying it so I began immediately. Within a week, a horrible rash formed all around my mouth and even ventured out towards my nose and cheeks. I automatically assumed it was stress from beginning the new job. I went to a dermatologist in which they prescribed an oral med and a topical med as well. I used both of them religiously and after 48 hours, it would clear up some and I'd wake up the next day, it would be twice as bad. It was several small clusters of red bumps with white centers. I kept thinking to myself how much it resembled a rash versus an acne breakout but I continued using my meds regardless.

To add to the humility of being in a new job, blood red rash all over my face, the topical cream began drying my skin out profusely. My face began peeling like a lizard. I was absolutely humiliated. I've always had good skin and all of a sudden, I look like a 14-year old teenager who neglects any type of hygiene whatsoever. About two weeks ago, after having zero luck with the meds, I washed my face and was looking in a mirror at how much the rash had grown and spread. I started thinking to myself, "Why is this all around my mouth?" And then it dawned on me, a little light bulb went off. I knew it had started when I went back to work so naturally I chalked it up to stress then I realized that was exactly when I started the new Crest 3D as well.

I immediately quit using the toothpaste and it's been approximately two weeks and everything has cleared up completely. My face is no longer broken out nor is the skin shedding in my mouth. My tongue is back to pink (versus white and splotchy). I didn't even think about how dry and cracked my lips have been all this time until I read everyone else's reviews and it dawned on me that that was another side effect I was having (that's now gone). This stuff is like acid.

Then after 2 more days (4 days of use), I developed a sore throat and wondered how I could have gotten it since I had not gotten out of the house in the past few days. Then I started to wonder about my new Crest toothpaste.

So I found this website and all the reviews and realized other people had experienced the same symptoms: sore throat, cankers, and skin irritation. As far as the latter is concerned, I got a very red irritation around my mouth when the foam of the toothpaste got out of my mouth during brushing. I had a red mark at the sides of my mouth and a vertical red irritated mark on my chin where the foam had dripped. My skin is sensitive, so I always get a little dry around my mouth with any toothpaste, but I never get that red and for that many hours. Now I'm going to have to shell out for the dentist to fix it. I wish I had read the online reviews instead of just going by the claims on the packaging when I went to get that new tube of toothpaste. Tomorrow, I'm going to the store to get a different brand of toothpaste. I don't think I'll ever trust Crest products again.

Why is this toothpaste still on the market? I have been having the worst chapped lips ever. I never get chapped lips. It's summer now but I have got sores on lips and a major dry mouth. I have been wondering why for weeks now. It occurred to me after I brushed my teeth with this horrific toothpaste I have been using for months that my bottom lip burned. So, I went to my computer and googled the toothpaste to see all these terrible reviews about this Crest toothpaste. They must remove this toothpaste from the market as soon as possible. It has caused a lot of pain and suffering to people!

It has been almost a year since I quit using Crest Pro Health toothpaste, Pro Health rinse, and Crest Gum Care toothpaste and my mouth is still dry. My breath changed for worse and it’s hard to speak correctly. My family's dentists are giving out samples of Crest Pro Health products, which my kids use despite my warnings. My throat and tongue still feel sore and my teeth and gums do not look as healthy as they did 5 years ago. I began using the Crest Pro Health products 5 years ago because my work kept me very busy and I wanted to have good breath, less tartar and keep my teeth attractive. In my first complaint, I forgot to mention that my mouth began showing signs of dryness 5 years ago, in which I did not realize it was constant until my daughter pointed out how I kept smacking and swallowing when speaking. This was because my mouth was dry.

I speak on phone all day for work and am a voice-over talent. To speak more clearly, I have to oil my mouth. Sipping water does not alleviate my dry mouth symptoms, but causes too many bathroom visits where I've gotten in trouble for. I even bought and use dry mouth spray and rinse to encourage good bacteria to promote healthy mouth. It has helped with my breath some. The dry mouth products are costly, but so is losing my teeth. My work and my personal life have been affected negatively because I have a difficult time speaking with a dry mouth and hoarse throat. My tongue feels irritated everyday. Crest Pro Health is owned by P&G, which is a big company.

I'm so upset with Crest. I started using Crest 3D Vivid toothpaste back in January 2012 (this was after a great routine dental checkup in November 2011). I went back to see my dentist for a routine checkup in April 2012. To their surprise, I had a pocket of infection in one of my teeth. I had no idea. They treated this and I bought an electric toothbrush thinking that would help, but I continued to use Crest Vivid 3D. I went back a month later and my entire mouth was negatively affected and my gums were pulling away from my teeth. My gum measurements were 4 to 6 in my entire mouth. Fortunately, the infection was gone because of the treatment but the pocket was still there and I had bone loss. They asked me if anything had changed in my routine and I did change my toothpaste.

I immediately stopped using the Crest 3D Vivid toothpaste, but continued with the electric toothbrush. I just went for another monthly checkup today and guess what? My gums have dramatically improved and are now measuring 2 to 3, but the area that had the infection and bone loss was too far gone and is still measuring a 7. I have to go see a periodontist. I'm so angry with Crest. I trusted them and they failed me. I will never use a Crest product ever again and I think we need a class action lawsuit. They should have warnings on their toothpaste!

I bought this Crest Pro Health toothpaste at Costco, because it looked on the package like it would be good for cleaning our teeth completely. But after several days of use, I noticed my mouth was really dry feeling. I thought it was just from the allergy medicine I had started to take. When the dry mouth did not go away after stopping the medicine, I became concerned. It was then I realized the culprit could be the toothpaste. While away for a weekend, I used a different brand and noticed the symptoms subsiding. Needless to say, we are never going to buy this toothpaste again. It should be labeled with a warning that it may cause dry mouth.

Unfortunately, it took me a long time to realize it was my toothpaste causing my problems. I thought my problem might be a reaction to various foods, vitamins or supplements and needless to say, going through each and every item takes time. Either way, I had the reaction of occasional mouth sores, terribly chapped, cracked and peeling lips, occasional swollen lips (yes, that's serious stuff!) and the last two weeks of use of this toothpaste resulted in the inside cheek tissue actually beginning to slough off. I was ready to make an appointment with an allergist when I remembered that about 8-10 years ago, both my husband and I developed many canker sores while using another new and improved toothpaste (can't remember which one now, but do know it was Colgate or Crest) and once we stopped, the canker sores went away.

Needless to say, this time around, within about 48 hours of stopping the use of Crest Pro-Health toothpaste, all my problems went away. I'm so disgusted with this that I have switched to a natural toothpaste with fluoride (Toms of Main, Clean & Gentle with fluoride) and will never go back to caustic and toxic standard toothpaste again! This should be off the market! Period!

So at first, I noticed I had stringy slime coming out of my mouth! Yuck! I was scraping my inner cheeks with my fingernail to get it all out. I was trying to think back if I burnt my mouth the night before that happened. Your inner cheeks peel. But I remembered I didn't and this substance was slimy and usually when you burn your mouth on food, the skin isn't slimy. It kept happening about an hour after I'd brush my teeth. So gross! Basically, I didn't know what the heck could cause this. So I googled "weird mouth slime" and find myself here, reading tons of reviews, most having the exact same nasty issue I had, plus more horrific reactions which got me all worried. I went to the bathroom to check because I knew I was using Crest, but didn't know which one. Sure enough, Crest Pro Health - the devil! The same exact toothpaste that hundreds upon hundreds, if not thousands, of people are having horrible reactions from.

After reading these reviews, I had anxiety. I didn't put it together at first because toothpaste is regulated by the FDA and shouldn't do that. Who would think toothpaste would dissolve your skin?! I couldn't sleep last night knowing this harmful chemical had been in my body. I am a fanatic about my teeth and take extremely good care of them. I did not brush this morning because I threw 4 tubes of that toxic Crest Pro Health away. I called my girlfriend up so I could go to her house and brush before picking her up to go buy my Colgate. I've used Crest before and would get awful canker sores, but figured since this kind tasted mild, I wouldn't have a problem. But yeah, for me to go without brushing my teeth in the morning, that's a sin.

I'm a germaphobe. I even had a nightmare last night that it was the morning and I used the toothpaste again because "it's the only toothpaste I have". I woke up all worried that the dream was real. It took me a while to realize it was just a Crest nightmare. Thank God I found you all here with these complaints! This is terrible. I am so thankful I caught it when I did and feel so bad for those who have suffered. I am pretty shocked that no one has filed a class action lawsuit. Well, I'm not sure that no one has but this is absolutely ridiculous! I am going to find out what we can do about this. I couldn't believe when I went to the store that there was a huge shelf with this stuff still being sold.

Goodbye Crest forever. I do not trust you at all! This complaint forum is 10 years old. How ridiculous! Where is the box I check for an attorney to contact me? My uncles own a big law firm here in town. I will check out what is the next step. If you are confused by my review as to why I am so disgusted in this company, read on to the many other reviews of all these (some) near-death experiences. Unbelievable.

Like the other people who have posted, I have experienced many of the same problems. I used Crest Vivid Whitening toothpaste for two weeks when my gums became especially sore and bright pink along the gum line. They were bleeding and sore. I was able to figure out pretty quickly it was the toothpaste so I quit immediately but the damage was already done. All this in a vain effort to have a whiter smile. I thought Crest was a company I could trust but their product is not safe. It has been 8 months and my gums are not completely healed. It turned into periodontal disease.

I've just learned that I have several problem areas that now need to be treated through periodontal surgery which is going to cost me a fortune. This doesn't even begin to address the stress, discomfort and very real anxiety (terror) that my teeth could fall out as a result of using Crest Vivid Whitening toothpaste. Even products such as Mentadent may actually be too strong and doing more harm than good. I now have to use a special sensitive toothpaste or plain baking soda. I can only imagine how damaging this would be if given to a child as recommended by the labeling as safe for children 2 years old and up (laughable).

Why is nothing being done about this? I found this website with 30 pages of consumer complaints in July 2011 and here we are in May 2012 and nothing has been done. How many have to suffer before this product is pulled?! With each passing day, it seems a new product or drug (chemical) is being pulled because it turned out not to be safe. Is anyone testing any of this? We must demand accountability from corporations and our government regulators (who are often in bed with the corporations they oversee). It is no wonder this is allowed to happen and continues seemingly shamelessly. Utterly disgusted.

It sounded very good to me and thought I would try it out. I have a partial plate on the bottom and the first sign that something was wrong was feeling like I had a tooth ache where I don't have any teeth. Then I noticed that when I put my partial in, it hurt to chew so I took it out. I kept brushing more and more and rinsing more and more trying to relieve the problem which kept getting worse and worse. My gums and tongue became inflamed and very, very painful - so painful that I can only eat soft food or fluids.

I finally realized it was the toothpaste and mouthwash making the problem worse. At this moment I am on painkillers for the pain in my gums, and using anbesol to dull the pain. I have not used the products for 3 days now and the pain in slowly going away. This is a horrible product and should be pulled from the market. I've seen my dentist and they didn't seem to find anything. They referred me to an oral pathologist. He was very good but said that there seem to be an irritation in my mouth but no cancer or other disease. He suggested only biotene products to help with dry mouth and irritation issues but still no fix! So I examined my own daily routines and thought maybe me drinking iced tea daily did this! Unsweetened natural sun tea... nope. Then I thought smoking but why all the sudden the change? I know the smoking is a bad habit, but I'm a light smoker! I then was referred to dermatologist. He suggested using a mouthwash that helped with burning mouth syndrome and such! No go. I wasn't going to wash with that thick nasty crap!

Time went on and my issues began to slowly go away. I finally realized that I had switched toothpaste for a month! But I don't like the taste of my new toothpaste so went back to Crest 3D white. It is as if my tongue is deteriorating! I am done! I'm going home today to remove it from my shelf! I am going to try all natural baking soda! This pathology, dermatology, dental and family practice visits along with blood tests cost me thousands! Not fair! After 3 months of burning lips, cracked lips, blistered lips, and 2 different doctor’s visits, I finally found out it was Crest Pro Health Toothpaste that was chemically burning my lips. I started using in February and a few weeks later, I started having problems. I went to the doctor, they thought it was a food allergy. I have never been allergic to anything! They gave me a steroid and I bought about 10 different lip balms, Vaseline, etc. I went to the doctor again and he gave me an antibiotic. It helped a little but when the pills were done, it flared back up.

So almost after 3 months, I decided to write down every move I made and everything that touched my mouth. I narrowed it down to the toothpaste since it was really bad in the morning and afternoons. This product has made me miss events, miss client appointments, had 2 vacations that were not enjoyable at all. I am so glad I finally figured it out - no help from the doctors. I started waking up in the mornings with a dryer mouth, white film, & not any better smelling breath. I usually don't throw out a tube until it's finished just because I didn't see better results. After a few weeks I started having tingly numbness in my cheeks that would last a few hours after waking up.

As I continued use, the numbness was throughout my head all day long and even if I woke up in the middle of the night. I used this toothpaste 3 or 4 times a day. I started freaking out thinking I was having possible signs of MS, which I had an aunt that recently passed away with MS. My boyfriend was having similar symptoms and sever nose bleeds. I work in the dental field. This is my choice of profession and my means to provide for my son. It has been 4 months since I stopped using this product and I continue to suffer in agonizing pain. This has cost me time from work, loss of money, time from my family and my son because all I do is sleep when I am not working. My mother is battling breast cancer at this time and I am not able to even focus on anything but this excruciating pain I live in everyday. I have lost 30 lbs. in the past 2 months. I have looked for answers in every place that I thought someone might be able to help me with no answers, no resolve, and no light at the end of the painful tunnel.

I want my life back. I want to go to bed one night without crying myself to sleep. I want to be able to sit down and enjoy a meal with my son without feeling my teeth shifting and moving around and then paying for it later with excruciating mouth, teeth and gum pain! This has gone on long enough. Thousands and thousands of people trust in this product and use it in good faith. How can Procter & Gamble continue to put this product on the shelf for unsuspecting consumers to use knowing that there are these endless complaints coming in to your complaint line? Is it going to take someone dying from a serious allergic reaction or committing suicide because they can no longer deal with the pain? What's it going to take? This has changed my life in such a devastating way. It has taken my joy for life and replaced it with endless pain and unrelenting misery. Shame on you! How do you sleep at night? At the least, you could offer suggestions to the people who have filed complaints on how, where, or what can be done to alleviate the pain. Or better yet, reverse the damage done. Shameful people! Horrible product! Completely unethical!

I purchased this product from Target about a month ago, but didn't start using it until 2 weeks ago. All I can say is the past 3 days have been horrible. My first thought was, it had to be the fresh pineapples my nephew sent from HI. Not! I remembered being able to taste the freshness of the pineapples on Sunday and Monday (No pineapples on Tuesday). Wednesday came around and my sense of taste was almost gone. The insides of my lips felt like rocks, my tongue is tingly and numb, there's a white film on my gums surrounding my teeth, and my throat stays dry. What is going on? I'm thinking to myself. Thank goodness my husband casually mentioned the fact that he was unable to enjoy any of his food because he had a bad taste in his mouth. He went on to say that his lips felt like sandpaper and his tongue was numb. This is when my mind sprang into action. The only thing it could be is this horrific toothpaste! I immediately got on the computer to find an answer which is what brought me to this site.

I am utterly devastated and worried sick about any damaging effects that using this product may have caused (Hopefully none). Not only am I filing a complaint with consumer affairs and I will also make it known to the company that manufactures this product. Note to Crest corporate conglomerates: Bad news will definitely travel faster than good news! Never again will I use another Crest product!

I was using Crest Prohealth Sensitive Enamel Shield toothpaste and Crest Prohealth Multiprotection Alcohol-Free mouthwash. I didn't know these products were causing this problem: in the morning when I awoke, I had a lot of dead cells shedding from the inside of the cheeks in my mouth, from my tongue, and from under my tongue. I would have gooey, stringy, almost mucus-like stuff in my mouth that I had to use a tongue scraper all over the inside of my mouth.

I finally asked my dental hygienist if she had any idea what could cause this. The first question she asked was "Do you use Crest Prohealth toothpaste?" I was flabbergasted that she guessed I used it. When I said I did use it, she said she has experienced this same side effect as soon as she started using the toothpaste. She has had other patients with the same irritation. I have stopped using the Crest Prohealth products, and the problem stopped immediately.

I used Crest Pro Health since January 2012. First, I noticed that gums peeled each morning. Next, I noticed that I continually had sores on my gums in different locations. Then in February, I experienced a sore on the left side of my gums and a 1-cm lump on the outside of my throat (enlarged lymph node). Doctor sent me for tests, but nothing came back.

A few weeks later, I suffered a severe throat pain, ear aches, and sinus congestion. I went on antibiotic for 10 days, and the sore throat and ear ache did get better, but other symptoms persisted. I have continuing gum peeling and sores for the next few months, and then, beginning April, I got another sore throat, ear ache, and sinus congestion.

I found this site and stopped using Crest Pro Health last Monday. Within 24 hours, there's no more gum peeling and the ear ache stopped. Within 48 hours, the throat pain went away and sinus congestion stopped. My mouth and throat still feel raw, as if they have suffered serious burns; but the distracting pain is gone. Unbelievable that a toothpaste could be at the root. I'd recommend anyone to throw out this product and not to ever use it again. Tell your dentists and friends. If it does this damage to your mouth, imagine what it is doing to your organs.

Crest Pro-Health: I bought this toothpaste a while back now. Just now, I'm getting symptoms. I had been noticing how my gums were hurting lately. I thought it was because I started flossing more. The other day, I had weird sensations on my tongue and thought nothing of it. Today, however, my tongue started to tingle around the sides, and I could feel it swelling up. I have bad anxiety, and I'm sure this made the swelling worse. It felt numb and has been. I'm getting feeling now; it's been over a half-hour. Something must be done about the regulations on ingredients used in consumer products made in this country. It's just unethical. It's wrong.

I have sensitive teeth and asked my dentist before trying Crest 3D whitening toothpaste. He suggested I try it and gave me some cautions (stop using it if you see such and such). After just a few days, I started seeing these things (numbness, sensitive gums, sloughing of the skin inside my mouth), so I stopped using it. I waited a few weeks, used it twice and that's it. A couple of days later, my teeth were so sore it felt like I had braces on again, my gums were swollen all over my mouth, and I was starting to really panic until I remembered that I had used this toothpaste again a couple of days prior. It took 4 days for the swelling and soreness to go away. When I googled my symptoms, I found this site. Even with sensitive teeth, it's nice to know that my problems weren't isolated. My husband does not have sensitive teeth. He only used it twice and had tingling and sensitivity also. I know different people react differently to different things, but this was quite something. Needless to say, I am not touching this stuff again.

Wow! I just called Crest to ask if there is something poisonous in the Crest 3D Vivid toothpaste (mint). Well they said they never heard of anyone having a problem. What liars! Well I have been having mouth pain & random sore spots on tongue & mouth. I also have to continually spit all day. Well when I swallow, it seems I have lots of saliva because my throat makes a noise every time. I can't seem to taste anything and my sense of smell is way, way down. It does it non-stop. Well it gets 100 times worse at night when I lay down.

Last night I was actually foaming at the mouth and jumped up to be almost dry heaving, but foam was coming out of my mouth. I am so miserable when I lay down that I barely sleep because I have to jump up and keep spitting. I am afraid of this product now and will never use any of this fancy stuff again. My teeth do not look any whiter either. I have always trusted Crest till now after reading all these other complaints. Hopefully I will feel better after discontinuing this product. I think I will just brush with plain baking soda for a while.

I also had trouble with the Pro Health and found this site before anything drastic happened to my mouth. I quit using it and changed to AIM multi-care and began having the same problems i.e. swelling in my mouth along the roof ridge-line. Then, my teeth began to feel loose. I stopped using it and started using straight baking soda which cleared up the problems then I switched to the children's version of Crest because my grandson is using it and guess what, I am beginning to experience the same swelling around the roof of my mouth. I am going back to straight baking soda and leaving off any and all toothpaste. Maybe, the health food store can recommend something for me.

Crest Pro-Health toothpaste - Last summer, I also bought the multi-pack from Costco. Recent cleaning at new dentist had caused some tooth sensitivity. I already had some gum issues. I had some mysterious burning of mouth and lips. At next dental visit, gums were worse in some areas. I had already stopped using the Pro-Health. I had been using some type of Pro-Health for many years. I found there is a difference in the type of fluoride. I found a basic Crest that uses sodium fluoride. All the Pro-Health have stannous fluoride at twice the amount.

I used this toothpaste for the first time nearly five to six months back. I purchased it after newly relocating to the US, thinking it’s a high-end toothpaste that people tell. Initially, I was using Colgate, which I was aware of since had used it in my country. At that time with the very first use, I felt a strong sensation in my mouth, which I thought that would be doing well because it’s strong and so well known with its ads claiming to be the best and dentist recommended it to their patients. I never took it in bad light even after experiencing all the things that I had never ever experienced before and was happening newly, which were bad and creating problems than rather providing solutions to teeth. I thought it to be working for the best and hence all the outcome.

I used to continuously find the thick mucous-like thread with the peeling from inside my jaws and gums. But I never knew this was the reason behind until I found this site. I had developed sores all inside my mouth, on my tongue, on the gums in upper jaws. That time I never thought this could be the culprit. I was just wondering why all of sudden these things are happening to me; when it got worse, there were ear discomfort and redness in my neck and it’s like sores have extended to the bottom of my throat. I felt it was a throat infection.

Since I often get throat infection, I didn’t want to take this lightly as I also lost my voice completely and went to see the doctor (first visit here in US). But what’s very strange was the sore feeling in my ear as well that had never happened to me before. She gave me antibiotics after diagnosing and told to take voice rest. What could have caused it was unknown. With the idea of treating the sore discomfort and redness inside my throat, she was thinking it to be a viral infection and prescribed me antibiotics. I completed the entire course of it, but couldn’t find relief.

The doctor asked me to wait for few more days as the medicines are still working and I should be fine soon. After a week not finding relief, I went back to her. She changed her prescription with another course of different antibiotics, thinking it not to be viral and might be bacterial infection. Actually, she couldn’t diagnose the real problem, but still tried her best to provide a solution and treating it. I completed the new course of five days of antibiotics. But still the soreness in my ear persisted. I started feeling a little relief, but only for few days when again I got back the sore throat after 10 days or so.

I didn’t want to go to the doctor every now and then and spend money. So I was trying to bear with it. But then when I couldn’t, I went back again to her and she said I may be having an allergy to something or rhinitis. She asked me to take nasal spray and new medicines every day till I feel good. So she prescribed me for six months. Two tubes of toothpaste got finished by that time and I had bought Colgate after that, so I started using it. Slowly, I started feeling better, but I am still with those medicines that now I realize were waste. Again, two days back when I bought this Crest and started using it, the very first use of it caused sores all over in my and my husband’s mouth. The ear discomfort started again with the sore throat.

I thought may be since spring is coming up, my allergy that I don’t know is showing up. But why my husband? Hence, when we realized we had this since we started using Crest toothpaste, I tried to google it and here it is. I’m shocked to see so many complaints and now my belief has become strong that it was all because of the Crest toothpaste. I never ever thought this could be the reason behind my problems and worries. I am throwing this toothpaste and the two extra that I bought in my closet in to the trash. Enough of it. How long will all this problem take to solve? I don’t know. But the Consumer Affairs people should look into it and ban this product and penalize the company plus provide a relief to all the sufferers.

I have been using Crest 3D toothpaste for the past 2 days and oh my goodness, I woke up this morning to brush my teeth and my tongue started to feel raw after I used this toothpaste. I almost fainted when I saw slimy stuff coming out my mouth, like skin. After reading the reviews online, I felt better. Honestly, I thought I was going to die.

I called my dentist and he reassured me that it is the toothpaste and I must discontinue the use immediately, as he is seeing cases like this, continue to build up. The FDA needs to have this product recall. My tongue looks mashed up and I have to keep spitting along with this numbness of my mouth. I believe everyone on this website should file a lawsuit for distress and negligence on the part of Crest.

I bought a multi-package of Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Care toothpaste from Sam's Club. The first thing I noticed was that the insides of my cheeks were sloughing off. I just thought, wow, this stuff is powerful. But over the last 8 weeks or so, my tongue has been really sore. I have been trying not to brush down the middle where it hurt the most, but it has gotten to the point where it is painful to eat anything. I can't eat hot foods, spicy foods, or even popcorn, because the texture of popcorn and potato chips makes my tongue feel like it's raw.

I took another look in a magnifying mirror today, because I was getting worried about tongue cancer and my taste buds are swollen and red down the middle and I have a white coat on the back of my tongue. That sent me to the web where I found this site and tons of the same type of complaint. Needless to say, we bought new toothpaste today. I had never attributed my dry lips and cracked sides of my mouth to the same issue. I just thought it was wintertime and my lips were really dry. This stuff needs to be taken off the market. If someone decides to do a class action lawsuit on this, I am in! (and I have never sued anyone). I am a caterer and cannot afford to have my taste buds compromised, as this could adversely affect my business.

The lid is poorly made. It is connected by only 2 little tiny pieces of plastic and they broke the first time I used it. The tube itself is a very thick slipper substance, which makes it difficult to squeeze out any toothpaste. Neither does it roll up. I have used about 1/2 of the container, but it keeps getting dry as the lid does not stay on. The toothpaste is okay, but your packaging should be changed. I have also used the little gadgets that fit over the end of the tube that helps roll the tube, but your container was too thick to get the gadget on. These comments are to suggest that you redesign your packaging.

I started using Crest Pro Health toothpaste in 2005. I used this brand until 2007, and experienced a stretchy "slime" that would come off my bottom teeth/mouth several times a week. I discontinued use after 2007, after looking up possible causes for this stretchy slime, but by that point, the damage had been done.

The "slime," you see, was gum tissue sloughing off my lower jaw. After brushing with this toothpaste, I now have a significantly diminished gum bed in my lower jaw, especially noticeable in the front region of my mouth. I have also, as other reports indicate, experience dry mouth after using this product, which has itself further degraded my oral health. I am dissatisfied and thoroughly upset that a product aiming to promote health of our teeth and gums instead did significant damage to my oral health.

I started using Crest Pro Health a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely hate it. The taste is horrible and as you're brushing your teeth, it doesn't thicken up like most toothpastes. Instead it gets really watery and you feel like you're just brushing your teeth with saliva. It also leaves a weird aftertaste in your mouth and I've definitely been experiencing dry mouth.

I started to worry since the past few days I've been waking up with this odd build-up of very thick mucus that turns into a "string like" substance. It feel like it has been taking off some of the skin on the inside of my mouth. I'm so glad I found this site of people with my same symptoms before my symptoms got worse. Unfortunately, I bought this toothpaste since it was on sale at Costco, so now I have like 4-5 tubes of it. I'm just going to throw it away, because I don't think I have the receipt anymore.
