I was having trouble with logging in with 2fa as I had forgotten to change my old email so I was unable to get my code to complete logging in. I wanted to update all my information but had no way of doing it without logging in so I contact support. Twice in two days I had the same conversation with two different reps on my issue. The first was someone named George. He was supposed to switch my account to my new email and send me an email with all I needed to get it done. The email was never received. The second conversation was with Deborah whom I explained several times why I was not able to log in then not ten minutes later asked me again why I could not connect then disconnected me when I asked if I was speaking to the same person. I was trying my best to be polite but really.

Finally I resolved my issue by managing to switch my account to my new email - so maybe George did switch it but...on my pc I always had Bitdefender active and it showed it would renew in 72 days but being unable to tell which credit card I used and no receipt I was not able to prove my purchase (my own fault). Both reps had my info after giving my name and old phone number but would not do anything unless I gave the information and I explained again I did not have it. I told them where I bought it but anyway. When I switched accounts it said my account was expired so I bought a new one. I hope my old account will not renew automatically. I will lock my card.

I set Bitdefender to renew via credit card. They subcontract their invoicing to 2checkout. On the renewal date, 2checkout submitted the renewal charge but also several charges for $0.00, which triggered a fraud alert, so a hold was placed on the card and it couldn't be used. Took several hours on the phone to resolve.

I wanted to return an item and it shows I haven't ordered anything in 2024,23,22 etc. It did not provide the security that the subscription said it would.

Bought a 3-year family pack only to have them replace the only feature for which I bought their product (Wallet) for a separate pay product (password manager). I still had over 2 years left on licenses. Seems an illegal practice, but they reserve the right to change whatever they want whenever they want, so their license agreement is worthless. I am uninstalling early (still have approx. 3/4 year left) and FOREVER. As a corporate and industrial cybersecurity professional I have been and will continue to INFLUENCE everybody I ever interact with that this company MUST BE AVOIDED AND FOR THEM TO SPREAD THE WORD.

I contacted customer support and they said they need to escalate this to a different department and I MAY hear back from them today.... The product itself is probably fine. I had it for a year and didn't want to renew because of the constant pop ups they sent every day trying to sell me other products. After a lot of work I was able to cancel and the gentleman explained he could get rid of the pop ups. I cancelled and they sent me a half off email so I renewed for a second year. I started calling them to get rid of the pop ups. Long waits for a Bitdefender rep to get to the phone. I explained what I wanted and the rep hung up. The only thing that is easy to do is buy more product. They are very good at that. Sooo, if you want to be spammed to death, have long waits on the phone and get hung up on, go for it. The service is great and they have definitely worked on customer service in the last few years. It used to be impossible to contact anyone there but now it takes 15 minutes which I appreciate talking to a human, sorry just wanted to add that I think it extremely important myself. I have 32Gbs of RAM, a 3090 Nvidia, and a 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900KF at 3.50GHz 3.40 GHz. So I have a beefy computer and it uses about 20% of my ram and 5% of my CPU so if you have a computer from 6-8 years ago this program isn't going to work for you unless the only thing you're doing is googling. I also says make sure you turn off auto-renewal or they will auto-recharge you. Overall if you have a newish computer Bitdefender ranks the best at its job to protect your computer with human customer service.

I have always loved and backed this product, but not anymore. Not worth the money, even with the most modern PC or Laptop. You will need a huge amount of RAM to run it without it taking the majority of your system resources. These Influencers on social media and YouTube are paid agents, that do not give you the truth. NOT WORTH THE EXTREME AMOUNT OF MONEY.

    This product causes:

    Failed Windows 10 & 11 updates constantly.

    Failed Legitimate Program installs.

Failed windows 10 and 11 system restores!

I know because when I turn it off, these things immediately stop happening and proceed correctly. It protects in a manner that is dangerous and damaging for everyday use. *** Product takes 40% to 54% of my 8 GB of ram. So many complaints to the company on many forums and they do nothing about it, or will not refund your money. *** On my best PC with all bloatware removed and non-essential programs stopped - with 64GB of ram and a 16 core Processor - it still takes 12% minimum of my RAM! *** Everyone is talking about this 2023 version – at least this is the version I just had and installed from BestBuy this month. I telling you, get something less resources hungry and cheaper.

I am so annoyed with Bitdefender. Before purchasing, lots of reviews said it was good for Windows machines and that it rated highly. What they all conveniently failed to mention is how much it bogged down a Windows computer. So much so that my everyday tasks became daunting, time-consuming and inefficient. I emailed them. The reps - who can't really do much because it's a fundamental problem with the fundamental product - were cordial and kind enough. The product simply does not do a good job at balancing security with computer efficiency. And YES, I did un-toggle many of the features, but no difference in performance occurred. Bitdefender is one of the few purchases in my life that I have made only to later regret.

Bitdefender Anit-Virus functions as well as comparable anti-viruses. Nothing exceptional. It is support that is lacking in this company. Auto-generated emails are only useful if they pertain to the situation at hand. Bitdefender auto emails contain erroneous information in which one can only ascertain their true intent, if having knowledge of the procedures of this company. Much time I have wasted contacting this company to straighten out their messes caused by auto-generated emails.

They finally make a specific reply stating what their true intent was, which should have been stated in the first place in order to prevent miscommunication and more time wasted contacting them again and again. Their emails are from a non-monitored box and one must go online and log in in order to communicate each time. Common sense does not prevail here in that auto emails are not appropriate in every instance. Please get it together Bitdefender and put a little effort into your customer support.

NO STAR - Zero Review. Notified that my 2 year/10PC subscription expired today (it actually has 449 days left) and BD disabled all services. All machines unprotected now and no response from BD CS. I have been using this software for over 11 years and EVERY subscription has had issues. They conveniently delete your 'payments' from their central app and you have to work through your bank to find the payment to them. This often takes weeks, while your systems are idled. They conveniently delete previous subscription data (date/amount/id code) thereby erasing your renewal/paid subscription from their system - YOU have to prove you purchased their software from them.

Had I been an auto-renewal sucker, they would have renewed my subscription 15 months early. NEVER use auto renewal as you can buy software retail for 1/4-1/3 of the renewal price. I can now attempt to resolve this issue and idle all of my systems for 4-8 weeks or purchase a reputable software package, delete BD TS & VPN and move on. No one can afford to be down for months. Save yourself the grief and purchase another product.

Checked my records and they charged me an additional $49.00 last year. They warned me my subscription was expiring. I believed them, because I "opted out of auto-renew." I even discussed the matter over the phone. OBVIOUSLY, the only way to opt out of Bitdefender is to treat them like an attack on your card and cancel it. When a virus program acts like what you're trying to defend against, are they really an anti-virus program? Avoid them, unless you want the prices to MORE THAN double and to be billed for product to which you did not subscribe.

This is one of the worst nightmare piece of antivirus software we have ever purchased.

    (1) Installation on multiple computers (purchased a 5 PC license) a horror. The company will NOT, not even on request, give you the link to the full download. You only get a starter mini package and then have to repetitively download over and over again the full 500+MB package. Good luck when your company has 100+ machines to cover... I had to research the user forum to find the link to the complete download package - So facit: It is available, but the company are unwilling to share - ZERO stars!

    (2) But it gets is worse: After about one week the software was detecting a thread in one of our Chrome browser tabs and froze up, leaving a white or black field on the screen to make it impossible to operate the PC any further. A reboot did not help, after the thread was discovered again, Bitdefender software crashed again and blocked the PC. No help was offered from Bitdefender, Refund was not offered, even the suggestion to make a donation to the Ukraine was refused.

Summary: Horrible company, incompetent customer service and NOT working anitvirus software! Stay away, not waste your $$$, purchase the much better and way more reliable competitor software (McAf...).

Don't do it! I purchased Bitdefender anti-virus and within one week their program made it impossible for me to delete files, and it made it impossible to move files from one location to another location. It blocked me from navigating files and told me that I am not authorized to move a file. I used admin and all kinds of tricks to override their prohibition, until I finally gave up. I had to install another anti-virus software (free by the way) to force delete their garbage from my computer. I lost the files that bitdefender changed and made impossible to open or use. I don't remember how I finally got rid of bitdefender from my computer but it's gone... Almost.

What isn't gone is their annual automatic debit for renewal. I cancelled the renewal of their automatic subscription, but it didn't cancel. No, of course not. It (they) tried to debit my account for $98.00 and my account rejected it ONLY because my account (that account) had less than $98.00 in it. So, when I got a notification that bitdefender (cocombitdefendercom) tried to debit my account for $98.00 dollars, I called my card company and had my card cancelled and applied for a new card. So, that should take care of that problem of bitdefender getting my money.

And then, there's the problem of logging in to my bitdefender account. Apparently, from what I have read in these reports, people can't log in to their account, or they can't turn off the auto renewal. Well, I can't log into my account. I tried twice but the password "is wrong." The password isn't wrong. I keep IMMACULATE records of all of my passwords on everything I use. I have them all typed out in alphabetical order on 5 sheets of paper A-Z. I KNOW that my password for bitdefender wasn't wrong. So, I played along... I requested a new password reset. They sent me a link. So, I attempted to reset my password and SHAZZAAAM! Their login page told me I tried too many times and that I could try again in 15 minutes. No, that's plenty. I'm not playing anymore. Game over.

So, now my bank card is no longer active, so these ripoff scam artists can go eat cracked corn, because I don't care. They aren't getting another dime from me. If they try it again, and if they somehow hack into any bank account or card that I DON'T have on file with them (because I only used one card with them [the one I cancelled and applied for a new one]), I will be reporting these ** to the Attorneys General Office and filing a complaint against them. Now, you do what you want. The chances are you already had a bad experience with them, which is why you're here. If not, and if you are thinking about buying a bitdefender subscription, or if you are thinking about trying them out for free just to see what happens. Good luck! I warned you!

It only generates a stream of useless, generic, time wasting suggestions. Tech support is terrible you cannot deal with a human being. After paying for the one year subscription I was shocked to see I was purposely locked into a webpage with no escape by this company. Their goal here after confirming your purchase is not offer you the download or any information what-so-ever. They purposely do not give you a way to leave the page short of shutting down Google altogether. This is because they offer you a $29 fee to automatically install the Virus Software for you. They make it purposely vague so you think you may have already paid and all you have to do is click that $29 since it is the only place on the screen you can click.

There is no Opt out button or No Thanks button. This is scary behavior form a virus protection company to see those who are supposed to be protecting you trying to scam you for another $29. That page should have an Opt out button and then take you directly to the download page. Worse, I waiting for 15 minutes and nothing happened on that page, so I closed Google and checked my emails to see if maybe they sent it to me. There was no email. 1 hour later I had to call support just to get what I had paid for. I had to ask the guy to send me the email which allows you to get the software you paid for. This company is scary bad. This is horrible behavior and makes one wonder if they are willing to do a scam like this. Used Bitdefender for years but lately I've given up on them improving anything. Box2 subscription which is cloud service costs more than Netgear armor which is basically same experience of protection..Why? They removed vault options without notification making me decrypt GB of data manually with program, removed VPN to its own app which is buggy and crashes or has connect issues. Hotspot shield used by others don't have this issue. It basically seems to sit on pc and that's about it, it did not detect my camera or mic was being used by chrome or dells pc doctor. It misses accurately if devices are actually ok or not via cloud service with box 2, box was always crashing, resets needed, you name it. It's probably why they don't sell them anymore right now. I actually showed them once it was routing traffic to VA and using AWS cloud services basically leaking out its own encrypted channel.

Total Security scans fast but other than its Auto mode you only have a shred tool or optimize and that is it, Kaspersky, Norton, TrendMicro and others have more to offer and that says a lot since I left Norton's core option years ago with it being worse than bitdefender's. Basically top two products today are Bitdefender and Kaspersky and so far Bitdefender taking over netgear products making lagging networks or acting as a middle man cloud gateway and several issues has made it a maybe to me to use. I am a savvy Microsoft user having used Microsoft products starting with DOS 2.0. I've seen and worked with the lot ever since... I am a systems engineer and have programmed Microsoft products for many many years, so I should know what I'm doing. I have certification and experience using Microsoft products. I recently retired from Duke Medicine as Senior IT Architect Active Directory responsible for 120,000 user accounts, over 200k User groups and over 600k other misc objects, applications and medical appliances and computers and servers.

I have also been involved with Cybersecurity and worked very closely with our Security office. Duke was hacked 3 years ago through the "Kerberos Golden Ticket" flaw a few years back, and I was on the team working with external government and other security agencies to remediate and rebuild the entire Duke computer infrastructure. I also have experience with Cybersecurity and tools. I thought I'd take a break from Symantec products that I've been using for almost 30 years because I saw via the social media that BitDefender offered more and better security. SO I purchased the product and started using it on my Windows machines.

Immediately BitDefender deleted most of my Batch and powershell scripts because it said they were viruses. So I added all my script folders and scripts to the Exclusions, and still, every day I had to restore my scripts so that I could run them. These scripts perform Windows Startup functions and other Bing searches for information that I perform on a daily basis. I have done this for many many years. Every day I spend 30-60 minutes fixing and restoring what BitDefender keeps removing from my system. It's a disaster as far as I'm concerned.

I have reported this and submitted my scripts to Bitdefender several times, (at least 4) to get this issue resolved. All I hear back from BitDefender is Crickets and more crickets. I have offered my services to work with them in resolving my issues as well as give them some help in working with users who have multiple systems to create 1 single common repository to save Exclusions and BitDefender Application settings. The product appears to work, however the support and customer care is really very poor. I have removed the product from my machines to save my sanity and have reverted back to my previous AntiVirus software. Question: Would I purchase BitDefender again? My answer is emphatically: NO!

My Safari homepage kept being changed to Yahoo.com. I figured it was time to get virus protection, although I'd bought a Mac because those I know who have one told me I wouldn't need it. So, after researching software to help protect my Mac, I decided on Bitdefender. The problems started when they charged me twice for the same product. I contacted them and ask them to refund one of the charges; they offered me two years instead of the refund. I accepted.

Within months, and after the 30-day refund period, the problems with Safari and Bitdefender began to intensify - Bitdefender was not catching these adware programs, which I figured it would considering Bitdefender advertises itself as "cybersecurity". I used chat to contact Bitdefender and was greeted with a rather sullen and unprofessional associate who sent me links to two articles, which detailed the fix I'd already tried several times and which had stopped working long ago.

Bitdefender then offered to send me info on how to collect information from my system and forward it to them. Since they'd already double-charged me, I was loathe to let them root around in my computer. I declined the offer and asked what else was available. "Got to apple" is the direct quote. Unsatisfied with this flippant and annoying answer, I asked for the next name on the chain of command, the next person I would have to speak with in regards to this failure on their part. The rude and uncooperative employee told me that s/he was the only person I would need to speak with. Fine, I thought.

So, I asked for a refund of that second payment that they'd taken. "No, it was past the 30 days, so no refund under any circumstance." "But, surely," I argued, "you can't have a policy that covers charging a customer twice and how that second charge is also covered under the first 30 days of the first subscription charge." S/he assured me they did and that they would not be providing a refund. Then, as I'm surfing their Better Business Bureau profile, I'm shocked to discover that this company has a rather murky past when it comes to helping themselves to money that is not theirs. So, my lesson has been learned. I will continue to fight for my refund and spend whatever spare time I have ensuring everyone knows about this company and its unfortunate reputation when it comes to admitting their mistakes and misrepresenting their product.

Last year I got Bitdefender for my Mac, I remember turning off Autorenewal, because they charged me double the amount they offered total security for on Black Friday. I thought I was safe this year. So this year I got Bitdefender Total Security at a good price from Best Buy, $20 for a two year license. I redeemed my authorization code and registered the 2 year license which expires at the end of 2022 with Bitdefender. My Subscription Tab on the Bitdefender Central Website showed the Bitdefender license was accepted by bitdefender and I was all set for 2 years. Everything worked, and I was very pleased with this great deal.

On 6th December I got an email that I had been charged an extra $99.99 by Bitdefender for my new subscription. When I looked at My Subscriptions on Bitdefender Central, it showed that my autorenewal had somehow magically turned itself back on and I got charged me for an extra year without my permission. The charge came through Paypal so I asked paypal to stop the charge going through but no luck. They emailed back that because autorenewal was on, then the charge is legitimate. So I ended up paying 4 times more, for an extra 1 year subscription than I'd paid for 2 years from Best Buy. If that's not theft, I don't know what is.

Please let other people know, if you read my review, not to do business with Bitdefender. They WILL rip you off as they have done to me and many others from what I've read online. Sadly their product actually works very well on the Mac, in fact far better than any other product I've tried. The only thing I don't like about their product is that you can't get rid of their VPN. But I have given them one star because they are dishonest. By the way, don't bother contacting their support team, as I tried numerous times and got NO reply. Their support sucks, totally. So you're better off getting some other product from a more reputable company that won't try to rip you off. I am looking into other options once this subscription expires.

I called to support services a week ago, they agreed to help me, they sent a link to follow their instructions, but those instructions are NOT updated to the most recent MAC OS Catalina. So not, since that happens, NOT ONE even the ticket transferred to another tier. They don't call; they don't send an email to give you an update, nothing. Like if they don't care. Maybe they don't care for those clients that are one vs. enterprise. But I can tell you if you are one of that customer looking for an Antivirus for your own, I will keep looking as Bitdefender is DOESN'T care about 1:1 customer.

This company believes in ripping off their customers by enrolling them in duplicates of the same service and they refuse refunds based on their 30-day policy. It is absolutely unacceptable that a technology (!!!!) company does not have fail-safes set up in their account enrollment to check if you have existing services, *especially* for the same email address! Furthermore, it's completely ridiculous to deny any wrongdoing in this situation - as if they can't understand why someone could possibly have a duplicate subscription. Duplicate accounts are extremely common these days, and most companies have ways to solve this issue that is amenable to the customer.

I have forgotten that I have an account with other companies and am immediately notified when I try to set another up. Bitdefender's account management website is completely convoluted (particularly with the second party charging system) and requires far too much navigation effort, which is all designed to frustrate you so you don't watch all the auto-renewals and subscriptions pile up. Do *not* subscribe! I still want the refund I requested and the refund I initiated today, for their VPN service (run through another company, Hotspot Shield!). I also want my account deleted.

Their ONLY response me was an e-mail from offering me 3 free months of service. Why would I want 3 months of a product which does not meet my needs? On Jan. 7th I filed a dispute with PayPal and the SAME DAY I received an email from Bitdefender that they could not issue me a refund BECAUSE I filed a dispute. PayPal denied my dispute and now the 30 days "refund" period has expired. I feel this company gave me the run around so that the 30 day refund period would lapse. This is POOR BUSINESS. Very long story, I’ll cut to the chase, been a customer for years and years, sure, annoying with their firewall and their scripting for threat detection is a bit hit and miss, however I have an entire server type setup at home, laptops, computers, servers, iPads, iPhones, android gadgets.... You name it.... And before you immediately think I may be lax on passwords or any of the usual ‘common mistakes’ as a network administrator (many, many lifetimes ago), I have ALWAYS been right on top of it. Anyway. The ENTIRE SYSTEM, completely stripped, I've lost Terrabytes of data, every password in the house and electronic item has been changed, by the way, just malicious, or perhaps a challenge, I have no enemies....

And WHO uses the ‘lock and wipe the mobile phone’ function on someone you are hacking from... Bulgaria.... I know this, as a manifesto was the only thing left on one of my iPads, exclaiming that what they are doing is ‘noble’ and the world needs to know that Bitdefender are ‘evil’ etc etc. Sooooo.... The cyber police here in Australia don’t really care, as I’m VERY careful with my money and none went missing, even though I now have a MASSIVE concern for identity theft at anytime from now.

I called Bitdefender, got some ‘bloke’ in another Eastern European block country who sent me an email with a logging program on it. I had a quick look and am still waiting to hear back, despite several furious emails. I had two firewalls too, one downstairs and the other up. I would pay them money to find out how they did it, cause I have been glued to all of my things for the last 10 days or so, looking for ANY sort of trace. There’s nothing and Bitdefender clearly couldn’t care less. 100% Truth and nothing but the truth, as it’s now night 11 0343hrs in the morning and I’m pouring over my XBOX, because YEP! They got into that too, how did they turn it on? Really professional. Which is exactly what I was paying Bitdefender to be for years and years. Still apoplectic with rage. HAD to put one star in there. That star is for them letting me know never to spend a cent on them and spend the rest of my days telling people to stay away.

No worries I am a patient man, then it installs and tells me to restart to finish installing. After I restart and it is installing, it gets stuck at 62% and says installation error, process rollback! So I'm at square 1 again. I decided to give it a third try (yes because I'm stupid I guess). It downloads the 400 mb file again, for the third time now, while I'm just hoping with fingers crossed that it works this time but what do you know! The installation failed again now for the third time.

Maybe the software works good when it's setup, maybe it's the best free anti virus out there, but the installation process is a nutjob, like, why not download what you need first! Then try and install it, that way if the process fails, people aren't stuck in an endless loop of downloading the same file over and over again. Thirty minutes of my life I will never get back. First of all, the Bitdefender applications for both mobile and PC are literally filled with click-bait offers for "additional services", although they are misleading to the user. When you open the app console, the first page you see is filled with menu options that LOOK like built-in features, but are, in reality additional purchase. The app also constantly notifies users that they are on an "Unsafe Wifi connection" and they need to "fix" this. This happens even when the Wifi is encrypted, password-protected, and MAC restricted. (There's nothing unsafe about that).

The mobile product uses an excessive amount of device battery and interferes with normal operations. Within hours of installing the Bitdefender app on my Samsung S8 device, I could no longer send SMS text messages. After thoroughly troubleshooting these issues, I found that uninstalling Bitdefender immediately solved the problem. My first attempt at contacting Bitdefender support went unanswered for 3 days. After all this headache, I finally contacted support to request a refund. They denied my request on the basis that I was (now) beyond the 30-day refund window (by about 5 days). I noted that the cost was different from those quoted online and had also been discounted. I then proceeded to request a refund - as entitled. I was advised I could, but not before Bitdefender trying to sell me it at a discounted price. I then advised them that the account from which the money was taken was closed and therefore gave them an alternative one to return it to. I had not received the refund more than 7 days later allowing for the bank holidays. I contacted Bitdefender who advised that banks have been known to hold money. I knew this not to be true as I had already confirmed with the bank that it would be returned within 48 hrs to the sender when an account is closed.

In summary I have sent numerous emails and had numerous calls with the company advising me to contact my bank and that the refund was made and pretty much that's that. Essentially they are saying the refund problem is mine! I had to repeat my situation so many times and it baffled me that they kept saying the same thing, yet no understanding of what had happened or making any attempt to check the details and trace the "apparent refund". They even stated that I had made a Visa dispute and therefore nothing they could do (note this was on the last call- they never said this before) - this was a lie. I am not sure if they even attempted a refund.

Be very wary of this company and their billing agency Avangate. They will take your money and not necessarily at the cost of the product quoted online. It's shameful for such an apparently good product that they have very poor customer service (they did not listen at all and lied) and are clearly irresponsible, malicious and devious to hold onto money that is yours.

I would say after this experience do not buy Bitdefender at all - go for an equally good internet security package that has good customer service. Check autorenewal status and change it accordingly and for any comments regarding safeguarding your account - the customer is the one that feeds the business - it's the loyalty and good word/experience that keeps businesses going. It makes sense that a business act in kind. It's a joke that it prides itself on the protection it offers to customers, yet it takes your money sneakily and without embarrassment. The after service leaves me feeling angry and the whole experience leaves a bitter taste. AVOID.

Installed the program about 3 days ago. Since then I've experienced a massive decrease in PC speed and a increase in CPU usage. At one of my devices it even deleted my Outlook profile (pst) which prevented me from doing my work for an entire day. I'm at this very moment still trying to fix the ** it caused me. I would not recommend this program to anybody. I will not be using this for any of my devices. Anyone considering this should try any free software instead. I had fewer problems with Windows Defender. Don't waste your time!!!

I purchased the five computer antivirus protection in Dec. 2017 for one year. During that time it was only installed on three computers, one computer crashed and replaced computer, IT tech uninstalled program on another computer and the third computer was also was replaced. Bitdefender was not reinstalled and hasn't been in use for about six months.

Dec 2018 my bank called to notify me of some charges on my credit card. At that time it was noticed Bitdefender charged my card $98.52. A search of junk email found a notice of renewal. This charge was unauthorized. An email was sent to Bitdefender asking for the charge to be credited back. I received an email stating to be patient as it is a busy time of year and the matter would be resolved. Then I received another email offering a discount on their services. Replied with, "Please resolve this matter in a timely fashion." This time I received the exact same email as the first time stating it is a busy time of year. My credit card company has opened up a case to dispute the charges.

After not getting far with the installation on my PC and Smartphone I wrote the following email to Support: "I have purchased a 5 device Bitdefender Antivirus Plus on 6 Jan 2019. I have downloaded the installation package from Bitdefender Central as instructed. I ran the .exe file: bitdefender_windows_244917e2-f4df-4213-b2a6-af16d65449f7 and I ended up with a Bitdefender Security icon, which opens up a strange display window. See attached No.1.

Then I sent a link to my smartphone to install Bitdefender on it and things became even stranger. In Bitdefender Central I have the two following displays now. See attached No.2 and No.3. Although Bitdefender Central informs me that my Huawei KII-L22 is protected, there seem to be no way to check this on my phone! At the same time my Desktop is “At risk” and there is nothing I can do about it. The “help” so far I received consists of copies from the Bitdefender User Guide, which I already have. All in all, as the actual program, including the “help” I received seems to be useless, I would like to cancel my subscription to Bitdefender and ask you to return the 84.99 AUD subscription fee ASAP. As of 8 Jan 2019, I received no answer from Bitdefender. Consequently, I have removed Bitdefender from my phone, but I still have it installed on my PC, although I have no idea whether it actually works, as there seems to be no possibility to find it out.

I used the software for a year and it worked as designed. I canceled my subscription a day before renewal and my card was still charged for the 2019 subscription. I contacted customer service and have been waiting two weeks for a refund. Bitdefender says they are backlogged. Providing a refund should be pretty simple.

It check emails. I have never had a problem with viruses, emails or anything else with this product. Bitdefender provides virus protection without slowing down my computer, and it was easy to set up on multiple computers. The only challenge that I have ever had is that sometimes I can't eject an external hard drive if Bitdefender is running. I have to turn off Bitdefender's Autopilot function, eject the external hard drive, and then turn Autopilot back on. A small inconvenience for an otherwise great product. Overall, I'm happier with it than I have been with other virus protection software that I've used. I started using (including Avira & Sophos), both of which slowed down my computer.

I have had no issues with Bitdefender installed. It's easy to download and install and it easily transfers between old and replaced computers. Plus, it doesn't hog memory in the background. Price is average for good protection, but I feel this is superior protection.

Bitdefender's malware protection might or might not be effective (how would you know for sure?), but its interface and usability is horrendous. I.e. while it is updating or scanning it is almost impossible to do any other work on the computer, and it is not smart enough to update itself before scanning. I have seen it try to scan and update at the same time. And it is almost impossible to interrupt an update or a scan in progress like when you need to stop it and do other work at the time.

Bitdefender provides a secure "Wallet" for online banking, etc. that goes beyond A/V and mere firewalls. Necessary in today's internet environments. Optimizing and ransomware protections are also explicit. One can easily deploy those tools needed without a comprehensive manual. Bitdefender provides a regular review of threats and blocks. Updates to all areas seem timely... something one should not have to worry about with any software. Kudos to Bitdefender!
