I have been overcharged by $100 every year they do auto-renew. I never knew it was an auto-renewal service, or I would never have purchased from them in the first place. This company ignores requests to stop renewal and consistently overcharges by $100 CAD. The VPN continually disconnects so you have to reconnect every day which I rarely remember. Very crooked company.

I have used Bitdefender in the past but not overly thrilled with it. Very difficult to shut off auto renew. Too many hoops to jump through. Extremely frustrating. Will never use it again. I did it once and kept getting emails saying it would be renewed. Had to do it a second time. Hopefully this time it will work. Beware!!!

I've had Bitdefender for several years now and am canceling my subscription. It doesn't recognize my laptop after all this time and rather than automatically connect, it asks for my email and password every single time. Many times it doesn't stay connected and when I shut my laptop down I see it hasn't been on all day. What's the point of all this so called security?

I decided to cancel the Bitdefender automatic renewal. While I am quite adept at doing such things, I am quite certain that Bitdefender designed their webpage to discourage cancellations. I followed the instructions precisely with no desired results. I googled cancelling Bitdefender auto renewal of subscription, and found that there are many others who found it impossible to cancel. I finally had to call customer service; bottom line: much of my valuable time lost!

I am not pleased with Bitdefender customer service at all. I contacted them because my subscription was automatically renewed, and I wanted to cancel it. They said they could not do a full refund, and offered to do a partial refund of 55 USD; or take two years for the price of one for 109.99 USD. I chose to pay 55 USD and cancel my subscription, rather than continue doing business with a company that clearly wants to take advantage of its customers.

Very disappointed about the service of Bitdefender. I paid for a subscription, but the payment failed. Nevertheless, they withdrew my money. Spent about two days chatting and emailing with support, but they did not refund. In my opinion, that is the same as stealing your money. Never again Bitdefender. I won’t forget this.

I had a Bitdefender subscription for 2 years. After it expired, BD not only left their software on my computer (found file folder 1.43 GB), but also activated to push me to subscribe again. Recently, I noticed an unauthorized BD charge of $108.86 on my credit card stolen by a Global leader. Previously, I used different credit cards with BD.

Since installing Bitdefender on my Android phone, I have been unable to open my emails (a Gmail account) on that device. I've also had some but not all applications that were accessing the web lock up.

My dear sir.... I regret to inform you that there is in no way any kind of special you can offer me to retain me in your company, and in my opinion, one of the worst! Never have I ever been told that 2 tier tech support were "not" assessable on the phone? But let's not forget the email replies that I did get. It was quite clear they didn't understand one bit of the problem. But it would be foolish of me not to mention 6 months of "no" password protection or passkey because "Each and Every Instruction" that I received was different and none of them worked. But don't worry we have antivirus software that has a consumer report higher than that of 1.5 stars, now isn't that yours?

Bitdefender continuously blocks out legit websites. When I called customer service to get help, all they do is send me extensive directions (that don't work) on how to fix the problem by myself. I'm 65 years old. I am not computer savvy. They said they can't fix my problem remotely. They said I have to do it myself. We've been going back & forth via emails & getting nowhere. Why am I paying them if I have to fix their broken product?

We are NOT clients of Bitdefender and yet we have been charged for a subscription renewal for some random individual through our PayPal account. Bitdefender is impossible to get a hold of and is doing nothing to return our funds. They have KNOWINGLY committed FRAUD. The very thing they are supposed to protect people from. Our company will NEVER do business with such as shady organization. They can easily rectify this with a simple delete account of the fraudster to force them to pay their own way, but do nothing. Horrible service. Nothing but headaches.

I call these programs scareware. Lots of scare tactics to get you to have them on your computer forever. The real fun part is to try and turn off auto renewal even though you never gave permission to turn it on. It took me 40 minutes to figure out how to turn it off. They run you through a maze of BS to get you there. Total scammers. Does it work? I can't tell, they spend so much time informing you that you have potential problems with everything you do on your computer that I can't tell if it's doing anything. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of these scammers.

I have a few Bitdefender products. I use Gravity Zone for my clients. It does have a good web panel and I like the possibility to find and apply a fix for vulnerabilities, however, it is impossible to know if the system really applies them or really fix them. Since I keep seeing the same results even after applying the fix a few times. I use Total Security for another client, I thought all was well until my other update management system started to send me alert that my Bitdefender product had several vulnerabilities. I got OMG! I contacted support and send them the entire details.
Weeks later, I am still waiting for an answer, check spam folder and spam filter, silence radio. Today I thought I was going to send them a nudge on that. Their support by email panel crashed on me. IU can't believe that a company that is supposed to provide security for my network doesn't even bother to answer when I tell them my other tools found vulnerabilities in their own product.

In a few words, avoid this company and their affiliates like the plague. They are not a U.S. based company so getting a refund from them is near to impossible. They will pull every unethical trick in the book, including outright lying over the phone about what they claim. 2Checkout, their payment processor and also other payment processors like Paypal should have some kind of system that does not allow companies like Bitdefender to use their payment processing services when they receive such an enormous amount of customer complaints. Also be warned that they will turn "auto-renewal" back on even when you turn it off. You will have to contact them by phone and request that they turn off this function. This Romanian company does not provide quality customer service nor do they honor their own refund policy. One star is too many for them.

I have a problem getting a refund from Bitdefender. When you sign up, there is a box that must be checked to NOT participate on an annual subscription. I did not check it because my intentions were to continue the service in 2025. A week before my renewal date, I requested they do not continue my service. They sent an email trying to bargain/negotiated a compromised price and service. I again reiterated I did not want the service. Shortly thereafter a withdrawal was made for $62.30. I have made two requests to refund, their website states you have 30 days to request for a refund after you purchase the service. I have not downloaded the software on my devices.

Purchased the ultimate security product, the next thank you screen showed how easy it was to move forward with 3 steps, check your inbox for email from Bitdefender, access the link, then instant activation would occur. I kept all screens throughout this one hour wait so far. This screen of instant activation is a bold lie. There is nothing instant at all. You actually have to printscreen proof of purchase then wait for the online support to get time to give you an activation code. I have worked on support teams for software companies and this is ridiculous and timely.

Absolute trash. Claims to postpone services while you play games but I've been disconnected multiple times in Diablo IV because it's decided that's a great time to update. That's not some barely known title but was one of the best selling titles of 2023. How is that even freaking possible?

I want to make very sure you don't auto renew me without my permission like you have done every year in the past. Even though I currently have an active subscription with you, I uninstalled it months ago. I believe your company is very dishonest and lots of people have complained about your auto renewing them without permission. You have also proven just how dishonest you are by sending me weekly reports on how safe my system has been even though I don't have your software on my PC anymore. I wonder how that is even possible unless as I have said here your company is very dishonest. These reports you sent me are completely BOGUS, and I will share that fact with others. WEEKLY EMAILS FROM BITDEFENDER: "We carried out 9 checks over the past week. No new threats to your digital identity detected. We'll continue monitoring and update you whenever we find new data."

Msn email logon scam. Started my laptop, opened browser and clicked on MSN email icon. Popup appeared warning me my account was locked due to too many login attempts which I knew were not mine. Instructed me to click link to change password which I ignored. I accessed my other MSN account no problem. Dropdown asked if I wanted to open MSN email. Logged in, no problem. Bitdefender did not prevent this! Could have been a disaster! Ran system scan, nothing detected I believe it is the best, none are perfect. I have used many years and will continue. I can say to the effectiveness of the software it is good anti virus. To the company that owns and runs it they are shady and scummy to the max. If you cancel your auto renew they will turn it right back on without your permission. This is fraud. They will then charge you way over the cost of the subscription when it renews. Sometimes well over double its cost so while the Av is good the crap you have to deal with and the blatant fraud the company attempts makes me say stay away!

I ordered Bitdefender, everything was good for the first year. Then the price doubled so I wasn't going to renew. My bank declined the payment, but Bitdefender kept running the payment method until it went through. The cancelation process isn't transparent at all, you have to log into their central account and jump through hoops to cancel. This company seems like money grabbers and is extremely shady, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Get Norton or something else, stay away from this company.

I suggested this for a family member as it has high reviews from some top websites. If you are using Windows, don't do it, especially if you are a developer of any sort. The Bitdefender shield slows down many application start-ups to the point you are sitting there waiting. It also uses a high percentage of CPU even when you are using the computer unlike Kaspersky that would take a break while you were working. Also, like others have stated, the update process is extremely slow making you wonder if it will finish. I tried this product years ago and did not like it but thought the company had matured from recent reviews on popular websites. I realize now, they must be paying those sites for such high reviews! I hope this review helps the company realize they need to update their product making it better. Until then, I am hoping others will read this and not sign up for this product

At this point, I purchased Bitdefender more than two hours ago. They have charged my credit card, but I have yet to receive a confirmation email, or download link. I can't contest the charge since it's still "pending". How difficult is it to send a confirmation email and download link from a company that is supposedly highly rated by PC Mag? Beginning to wonder how much they paid PC Mag for the stellar review. I will be calling my bank later this morning to contest/cancel this nonsense.

I initially ordered the lowest level of protection. Unfortunately, it would not load properly on my computer. When I logged into my Bitdefender account I noticed it was set to renew at a higher priced package. Emails to cancel as the product was never activated were ignored. Finally, I filed a complaint with my bank. The attached photo is their response that a refund would be issued on another 90 days. This is on top of the 60 days since they charged me. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I knew within a few days after using Bitdefender's TOTAL SECURITY and VPN that I did not want to continue using them. I have consistently tried to employ Bitdefender's cancel and refund for the TOTAL SECURITY and VPN. I have issued two separate cancel and requests for each and have sent and received numerous emails to and from Bitdefender custom service--My cancel and refund requests have not been processed; nothing has been resolved. I consider their latest response to offer me more coverage and fix their VPN as nothing more than a run-around delay-tactic. I will keep contacting Bitdefender until they honor their advertisement that one can cancel and refund within the 30-day time limit--the time period which I am well within..
Their VPN not only compromised my router, it corrupted my ability to send email. I had to pay a PC repair service to reconnect my router and reconfigure my LAN in order to reconnect my Outlook Mail to my internet provider. Additionally the TOTAL SECURITY deleted months of my Firefox browser history as well as slowed down my computer.

I have been using Bitdefender for the last 2 years. It worked properly until May 2024 when updates get stuck at 80% or 84%. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same issue showed up again in June and for the second time I went through the painful process of uninstall/install. Mid July the same updating problem resurfaced. I am fed up, and resorted to uninstall it for good.

It is a scam, this subscription is a mistake. I have used their services for one year. I renewed my subscription In March of 2024. I received a notice from Bitdefender in June 2024 that my subscription had expired and I needed to renew. I renewed the subscription but immediately canceled and was refunded the newest payment. I have tried unsuccessfully to cancel my subscription from March 2024.. Their website is very confusing and impossible to locate the directions to cancel. Likewise, there is no provision to cancel automatic renewal, I have been in communications with one of their agents through e-mail, but It's like a dog chasing its tail, absolutely no positive results. I requested cancelation on my account through e-mail, but no response. Don't know how to resolve this situation.
