Had purchased Pixel 3XL, and within warranty period suddenly screen response got bad and even button response was too much delayed. Wasted multiple chat session with support Team to get device for repair. Post repair by BTX device got issue again with screen response, so I asked for refund as per warranty policy published. But they flatly told no, then I requested for Replacement, to which Google responded saying device has to be repaired three times and then only replacement can be provided (no mention of this in warranty policy). Repair only option is being pushed again by support Team, talked with multiple support Team sessions, Twitter and mails. Will not recommend Google hardware from this experience.

This bug hasn't been fixed. Because of this bug listening anything with earphone is pain. I haven't faced any issues with Samsung which is also Android phone. I will never buy any Google phone again. As far as basic functionality, it's actually great, though the camera is definitely not all it's hyped up to be. The Google Assistant is forced, with no option of disabling, with the Pixel. That means almost every call I get is being filtered through a robot greeter. This is my BUSINESS phone!!! Most of my transcripts say just "disconnected". Know why? Because EVERYONE HANGS UP!!! I have bumped into two people who WERE potential clients who said they went with someone else because of the Assistant robo greeting, thinking it was the wrong number. Even my best friend called back, thinking it was the wrong number and had to leave an explanation before I was even allowed to see he had tried.

My business DEPENDS on people I don't know reaching out to me but no one can get through and my business has literally come to a screeching halt since getting this phone. I turned it off in the settings but it just keeps turning itself back on, every time the phone rings with a new number. I even disabled it in my actual Google account. This phone is ruining me. Verizon won't help, saying it's a Google problem not a Verizon problem so I'm just screwed.

I've had my Google Pixel 3 phone for just over a year. I was happy with the phone until a few days ago, when I noticed the battery had expanded. I tried contacting Google on their help page, using the "contact us" tab for a "chat with an expert." First, I was told that I had to contact them through the account where the phone was purchased (my husband's account). I did that. In the next 2 chats, I kept being told the same thing. I provided the account ID, IMEI # for the phone, receipt (which was part of their records) - and of course, a description of the actual problem. The Google reps just kept saying they couldn't do anything until I contacted them through the account where the phone was purchased - which of course, I was doing.

The THIRD time I entered a chat session (because I can't have a phone with a swollen battery forever), the rep started off by giving me the same runaround as I'd had before. Then, he finally told me my phone was out of warranty and I needed to contact their repair partner for a battery replacement. That could have been done in 1 chat session, in a few seconds. What a complete waste of my time, and utter failure to support customers or stand behind an expensive product.

I have owned my Google Pixel 4 for two months of an 18 month contract. I totally regret getting this phone. Its features are way less than my previous handset a Huawei P10. It has no fingerprint reader and relies on the camera to unlock on seeing your face. This only works around 50% of the time. About 99% on Huawei. When the face id doesn't work it brings up a number pad to unlock the handset. This is so slow if you don't press a digit and wait a couple of seconds before entering next digit. It won't recognise your unlock code.

All apps in in a long list and you have to spend ages adding them to your home screen. The android experience is way lower than the previous phone and this is native android. I won't buy a google hand set again and can wait for this contract to end. I have swapped my sim back to my Huawei and no longer use the pixel. Having owned phones for over 20 years this is the worst handset I have ever had. VERY disappointed. If anyone know how I can place a review on google's site please let me know. Thanks.

I contacted Google customer service and sent the bug report as requested by Google, and they agreed there was a hardware issue. I asked several times what the issue was before someone told me it was a battery problem. I was then told that they would replace the phone with a pristine/refurbished phone. I asked them to replace the battery in my phone and was told by a manager by the name of Jeff "Google does not replace batteries" only devices. I asked that they replace my current mint condition phone, with the exception of a bad battery with a new phone. I was told by the same manager "this is not possible under Google's warranty guidelines".

I asked if the replacement phone would have a new battery installed and was told "No, we don't change batteries". So I asked "you are suggesting that I accept a refurbished phone that could be up to a year old with an original battery that could have in access of 365 charge cycles on it as a direct replacement for my brand new phone and was told "This is our policies. Accept them or don't, your choice." I asked if they would cover the cost of the replacement battery at a Google certified repair center like Ubreak Ifix and was told "NO". This is the first and last Google phone I will ever purchase. My advice to anyone who is looking at picking up a Pixel 3, 4 phone, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY and go elsewhere. Thanks.

Phone was defective from the start. Multiple defects including speakerphone didn't work, ringer never worked, even after resetting to factory settings. Saw online others had same issue. Texting issues as well. I reported it. Went through hell but they finally agreed to send a phone. It took multiple calls and emails. Then they sent not a new phone (despite buying a new phone) - they sent a refurbished phone. Also defective and dirty/used/not ok.

They've now taken almost $1000 of my money - I don't have a working phone - and all that customer service says - for literally 6 months now - is that it's "escalated to a specialist" and there's been no way for me to get any other answers. For 6 months. All they say is "I understand your concern" and then to wait. NOTHING has been done. Bad product. Horrific service.

My wife purchased a Pixel3 from Target in August. We use Verizon as a provider. Several weeks ago, sound alerts for phone calls messages, etc. stopped. You can call out, but will not know when a call or message came in, or alarm goes off. November 30 opened an incident with Google help. We generated the requested bug reports and screenshots and sent them in. Sent them again three days later, and again on that day from a second email address to assure they would receive the requested files. The only response was a notice to only use the original Gmail account. At least we know the files must have been received. No analysis of the reports appears to have been done, and no follow up was attempted by Google.

Called multiple times where the entire problem had to be related for the existing incident. Never any follow up. During this time multiple techs at Verizon attempted to diagnose the problem, and sales at Target tried to determine how to follow up with Google warranty. Finally spoke to a Google support supervisor who stated the warranty would only be honored if the phone was examined by a "Ubreakifx" technician. The nearest ubreakifix location is in Newton CT, 80+ miles from our location Albany N.Y. The Ubreakifix technician diagnosed a bad motherboard on December 7. He states this is a common problem, and Google has a history of not supporting the product. We will see if Google ever honors the hardware warranty. Next step, NY Attorney General complaint.

I have the phone less than 6 months and it started shutting down when the battery level reaches 50-70%. After only 6 months?!!! This is so disconcerting. I found bunch of posts about the same issues and it seems like Google has no solution for it. Pixel 4 has same issues. Google's support will send me a replacement device as I'm still under warranty. But listen to this: the warranty on the new/replacement phone will NOT be for another year, but only until the initial warranty deadline. So, if my phone breaks again in 9 months, I'm in trouble. I am very sad to say, but if I knew about how mishandled this issue was, I wouldn't have bought this phone. But, if you still choose to buy it, please buy a 2-year preferred care!!!

There were some nice features like the easy integration with email and Google Drive, but there are some really weird features, like a non-USB friendly plug, and the inability to have headphones in while charging. And while the phone was alright when it was working, after six months with the phone, I turned it off one day and it just never turned back on. When I reported it to Google, they offered me a refurbished phone instead of a replacement phone, and they would not restart the warranty - they would only give me six months warranty for a refurbished phone. 2. This phone lags a lot.
    3. User interface sucks.

Pixel 3a worked well for 3 weeks. After that, 1st major issue is the fingerprint unlock quit working then disappeared. Turns out, it's been a know issue for some time. 2nd major issue is the phone's display continually goes down to where the brightness is barely visible. 3rd issue is phone is very glitchy, needs constant rebooting. 4th issue is that the phone is impossible to keep organized, it keeps redistributing the program icons to various positions.

After spending hours trying to fix, adjust, reset and the massively lame tech support from India, Google's solution is to either send phone in for a 7-10 turn around time or take it to their designated and unheard 3rd party service vendor, a major security concern if you have data on your phone with an undetermined turn around time. Pretty lame for a 4 week old phone. The take away for me is to stay with what works, and for me that is Samsung. As soon as I get home, I'm buying a Samsung and taking this $400 phone to the range for target practice. I use my phone for work and I can't live with the constant aggravation.

I bought my phone from Spectrum Mobile finding out that they will only warranty it for 14 days. I was then told after I had the phone for 3 weeks and multiple calls to Spectrum Mobile and Google that I need to go to Google for the warranty. The phone never worked right from the first day. Multiple calls and 3 weeks of owning the phone I am told Spectrum would not exchange it for a new one and I must call Google.

Google downgrades your warranty if you buy it from a retailer and not from them. (Figure that one out, guess they want all the profit.) After calling them repeatedly with issues such as smart lock doesn't work, bluetooth doesn't recognize and stay connected, no notification that I have voicemail, and last but not least it did not recognize I was home and continuously locked my phone, I gave up and said I wanted them to replace my phone since it was several days past the big 14 day warranty that Spectrum gave me. Google then tells me they will not replace my phone but I should take it to uBreakiFix, which I did. They (GOOGLE) then refused to do the repair even though uBreakiFix had the part and was ready to do the repair.

We went back and forth for several weeks. GOOGLE saying that wasn't able to fix the phone even though I had the work order with the denial from Google and emailed it to them. After continuous calls to them they decided to escalate it and there it sits. Constant calls and emails got me nowhere. uBreakiFix contacted them with no results. Then finally they said they would replace it with a REFURBISHED PHONE. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? NOT a new exchange for a phone that is 3 weeks old and was damaged when I received it. (THE MOTHERBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.) The next day I received an email saying DO NOT RETURN THE PHONE since it has a ticket and was escalated. So back to square one.

uBreakiFix was wonderful through this whole ordeal and because they felt GOOGLE had such poor customer service and they had told (GOOGLE) it is not right to treat a customer this way. uBreakiFix repaired my phone and ate the cost. KUDOS AND 5 STARS TO uBreakiFix. I was told when GOOGLE first escalated this issue that it would be 24-48 hours to resolve it. It has now been 2 1/2 weeks with no call back and no resolution even though I called them multiple times. If not for uBreakiFix I still wouldn't have a working phone.

Worked fine for the first 6 months then the screen started freezing. I would have to tap on the screen up to eight times to get it to unfreeze. Sent it back and the replacement did the same thing. Sent that back and now my third phone is doing the same thing while also not being able to take phone calls. Only works on speakerphone. Person on the other side says it's broken up and echoey. I seriously hate this phone. It's so obnoxious. It's so hard to find help because all the online resources do not fix these problems. I'm about to go get my 4th phone. I'd rather get any other phone but I paid so much for this one then I felt obligated to try another because I have the insurance. Haven't even had it for a year yet. Yes the camera is great and I've been lucky not to have one of the myriad of camera problems.

Google should recall these phones and reimburse everyone. I'm not even a normally a hard critic but these issues are totally unacceptable. I've included a picture to show what the frozen screen is doing. In the top left corner and you can see the phone is keeping the actual time but the widget time is freezing. This is just one of the hundred and fifty times a day it's doing it.

Incoming call will not ring, can't access voicemail on the phone, can't get notifications to sound, phone gets stuck and I have to restart. List goes on and on. 3 hours with their tech support and still have these problems. Tech support is not talking to a live person, very difficult to follow the arrow "instructions"! On average I restart the phone 5/6 times. Really a piece of garbage!

In June 15th I got in contact with Google Tech support and explained the I fatal issue with the phone. Google refused to have one of their Official Retail Repair Partners to perform the required repair. In addition, the Google Tech Support Manager I have been painfully dealing with just stated on the last email that even if I choose to get a replacement phone "A replacement may exhibit similar behavior”.

Google is on breach of our Sales Contract by selling me a defective phone and failing to be guaranteeing a replacement unit will not display the same issues. I contacted the consumers support yesterday June 10 after many tests and it didn't work. Sanda from the consumers report guide me through many tests too and they didn't work as well. Sanda said to me that I should ask for the replacement of my pixel 2 for another one refurbished. Sanda said to me that cannot guarantee that the phone that I will receive is new. The replacement has to be for a new one pixel 2 or another equivalent.

I am going to business travel in 3 days for another country and now I don't have a mobile phone working!!! As Google can't replacement my Pixel 2 that is not working because of the update mistake from Google, I would like to have a full refund. I have never been so disappointed in Google with the production quality of their Pixel 3. I have bought almost every Google device made in the past 7 years. Since the Pixel 3 was released I was that Google fan who was waiting for their website to change to instantly purchase the Pixel 3. Since the day I bought I have never been able to have a fully working speakerphone. Such a simple thing but the biggest headache ever. I told Google support that based on the many complaints online that a refurbished phone was most likely not going to fix my issue. Either way I did it, and what do you know the second phone had the same exact issue. In fact my wife had just bought the Pixel 3 a few months ago brand new from Verizon and she too has been experiencing the same exact issue.

So I do another warranty claim and I explain to them that a second refurbished phone will not resolve the problem, nonetheless I received the second refurbished device and spent hours upon hours of my time setting it up and making sure I bought a tempered glass every time to protect it. And what do you know, same exact issue. I was told I would be approved for a brand new device about 10 days ago and have not received any solution. I have contacted Google almost every day to try to get this expedited, but yet they keep giving me the runaround. I work in the cell phone industry and this is the most embarrassing phone I've ever had. I will tell everyone about my experience. I hope Google will do the right thing and treat customers with a history of purchasing their devices year over year and value what I would consider myself a loyal customer.

I had a charging issue in my Google Pixel 2 XL phone. It was under warranty so sent to service centre by Google pickup. When they received my phone screen got damaged which wasn't the condition when I handed to Google's logistic guy. They called me saying my phone has lot of screen damages and dents so not included in warranty. I said I just have a battery issue which is covered in warranty but my phone doesn't have any physical damage. Still they didn't agree on it and gave me a quote of 41000 to repair the same. I denied and asked them to send my phone back. When I got it back I saw it was too much damaged. Now I m calling their support to tell them that physical damage wasn't there when I gave the phone to their logistic guy. So it's their responsibility to ship my phone properly.

Every time I call they say, "Senior person will contact you in 24 to 48 hrs." But no response yet. When I call back again it's a new person whom I talking who don't have much idea about my problem. Again I explain problem to him and they say sorry and escalate the issue. Their support team only knows to escalate the issue not to solve it. Everything is on call only. You can't even catch hold of this people and do anything. So it's a serious service gap of Google phone. DON'T EVER BUY A GOOGLE PHONE. They are not competent enough to service their customers in spite of buying such a premium phone. Total waste of time. Mental stress is another thing that happens when you have to follow up with this service person. As they only know one line "sorry for the inconveniences. I have escalated your issue, you will receive a callback within 24 - 48 hrs." Pathetic support team. PLEASE PLEASE DON'T GO FOR IT EVER. #GOOGLEPIXEL #MADEBYGOOGLE

Once all tests were done from my side and nothing worked, "especialists" took care of the issue. It's more than two weeks now that specialists are working on it. Funny thing is that they never asked for the phone, which is here with me, so I wonder how are they working on it. I asked and asked many times what are they doing and why is it taking so long. The answer is always the same,"You have to be patient." I am not patient any more, I am really angry about it. I will never buy a Google phone again, I am really disappointed.

Within 2 months again the same problem appeared where callers can’t hear my voice and sent the phone to service center on 8-Aug-2018. This time as my phone was out of warranty I had to pay for the service and fixed it.

I am totally frustrated now as the same problem appeared in April 2019 and now I got a quotation of 23,000 INR to replace the Motherboard. It's an awful experience as a customer as the phone is not at all worth from a company like Google and its reviews across Internet are the same. Nobody cares the picture quality of Pixel when the device is not worth a phone call. Customer support is super annoying where they can't escalate the issue and can't give me a call back on time or make me talk to their supervisor. This is my first complaint this forum and I will find out how to log a consumer complaint on Google.

I got this phone 2 months ago and I feel completely trapped and hopeless thanks to Google's customer service. There is nowhere else I've been able to review this phone. Basically since I got this phone apps have been crashing and I've had to do constant updates just to simply make the phone work like it's supposed to. And then a MONTH after purchasing the phone a software error made it so that my camera, the only reason I got this phone, no longer opened or worked. I contacted Google's customer service who told me if I sent it in I could get the phone replaced. Within the week I accidentally dropped the phone and the screen cracked. Google will no longer replace the faulty phone they sold me a month ago because now due to the external damage it is "no longer within warranty"...a MONTH after receiving the phone.

I now will have to pay $500 to "uBreakiFix" for them to fix the external damage just for Google to replace this phone that I paid to get fixed with a new phone. I insisted I just wanted my cracked phone fixed as the software problem has nothing to do with the external damage and they said they could not do that. I need the external damage paid for and fixed before they can sent me AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PHONE. There is absolutely no solution and I feel trapped and completely devastated. There is no other avenue for me to review this phone and I honestly feel like Google has made it so that their unhappy customers have to go through mostly unseen websites to review their terrible product. Basically I would not recommend this phone, or Google products in general to anyone.

My son's Google Pixel XL started having problems. When we would charge it the phone would not stay on. Now the phone will charge turned off but will never turn on. When I contacted Verizon they told us to contact the Google Pixel customer service since it's been less than a year and still under warranty. Once I contacted them they requested the proof of purchase which I sent along with our payment plan both of which were turned down so I had to get the Verizon store on the phone that I had purchased it from. They sent over their official proof of purchase.

That was still not enough then they had another issue since it is my son's phone who is 13. Keep in mind I purchase the phone, paid for it and my signature is on the receipt. But my son's email is the one that's linked to the Google Pixel with family link in my email link to that. It's clear they do not want to help us nor stand by their warranty and I've been on the phone with Google device care for over 3 hours trying to resolve this issue. It looks like I will have to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because they are unwilling to stand by their warranty. We will never purchase another Google Pixel phone.

This phone is GREAT except for ONE MAJOR FLAW - the battery life is terrible! I mean, I am blown away by how awful. On a full charge, with regular use, the battery runs out after about 5-6 hours. That is just not acceptable at all in a brand new, high tech, high end expensive phone like this. It's really a shame too, since everything else on this phone is so stellar. Especially the photos. But my previous, 2 year old, $175 Motorola phone has a battery life that's twice as good as this one out of the box. Google really needs to figure out the battery issue because otherwise this is a great phone, but the battery life is simply unacceptable. I returned mine.

I recently tried to order a Pixel 2 phone and start Project Fi service for my mom and I. All seemed well, and we hit the "buy" button. Unfortunately, Google (I think) seemed to think there was possibly fraudulent activity on the account, and sent a request for more information--which included asking to upload bank statements, photos of my government-issued IDs, and photos of credit cards. I have never been asked to verify an online payment via sharing all of my financial information, and would caution Google against normalizing such means, as these are techniques often used by scam organizations. If, in fact, this was a fraudulent request, then Google is doing a very poor job screening such emails. Unfortunately, the Google help chat folks were very unhelpful as well. If this continues, I will absolutely NEVER recommend Project Fi to anyone, despite its reasonable-seeming cost.
