    Asurion is an excellent phone insurance! When my wife's phone stopped working, they had a new phone to us in almost a day!     At first I thought we just needed cracked screen repair, when trying to schedule that the appointments were very far out - like 10 days. That we were not happy with. You should have more places to go to get a cracked screen fixed so you don’t have to wait forever. Tried calling to see if we could get something sooner and were on hold a very long time. It was off hours though. I then looked at my son's phone and it was not just a cracked screen. Whole parts of the screen were completely black. I couldn’t cancel the cracked screen repair online, had to call - which didn’t seem great either. But this time I did speak to someone right away who cancelled the original appointment and entered the claim for the damaged phone. We had the new phone the next day.

    So my daughter broke her screen (no surprise there). We took it to UbreakIfix. An hour wait. Typical. No worries. We get back up there about 30 minutes before they close (I'm slow at driving). We get there and the screen looks great! Phone was not communicating with Apple servers. Phones not working software wise. Let me tell you, those gentleman spent over two hours, and past closing time, doing EVERYTHING they could to fix my kids phone. You WILL NOT find a better place to get your phone repaired.     Asurion tries mightily to delay and discourage claims. It's web-based claims process doesn’t not work and refers users to the phone number. The phone number has limited hours and operators, and its auto messages actively discourage your call, both through saying it’s too busy to warning prosecution for fraud. The call center, if you reach it, transfers you out to AT&T at the drop of a hat, even if you say please don’t. If they send you a replacement device, your address will be slightly off so the carrier can’t deliver and returns it to the warehouse. Then, you have to get through on the phone two more times, 24 hours apart for resolution. Once you get your device, the instructions are terrible so you have to research on the internet how to enable it. Do yourself a favor: Don’t pay for this insurance. It is a racket.

    The replacement phone arrived on 2 days. The only difficulty I had was the sim card included in the package was defective. I had to go to the ATT store to have my old sim card put in my new phone. I did encounter great difficulty transferring info from one phone to another and spent well over an hour at the att store trying to get it straightened out. I'm still working on getting the info in the apps to transfer. Part may be due to my ignorance. I need a teenager to help me! Ha ha.

    Zero stars! Misleading, and possibly fraudulent service. I reluctantly decided that I would take Asurion coverage for my new Samsung Note 9 around 2 years ago. I should have gone with my intuition and taken the coverage. All the amounts given below are close, but not exactly equal, to the actual amounts paid. Here is the cost breakdown. I paid around $550 in premiums before I broke the screen and made the phone unusable. The touch screen was actually blank, but the phone still operating underneath.

    I submitted the claim and was told that my deductible was $200, and was sent a refurbished phone. At this point I have paid $770 for a refurbished phone. It gets worse since I am also required to send back my unusable phone, which they recoup some of their cost: $125. I paid $900 for a refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 9, which is the cost of a new Note 9. A refurbished Note 9 is only around $300. They took my premiums and then SOLD me a refurbished phone at cost. They didn't pay out a cent!
