    I have 5 kids and bought this "insurance" through AT&T to cover their iPhones, tablets and laptops. I pay $30/mo. and have never had a claim until last month when my daughter in college spilled a coffee on her MacBook during finals week. She called me crying, hysterically. The laptop was blacked out and she had a presentation and finals to study for! I told her to take the laptop to Apple. It had AppleCare but was not covered due to the spill. So I called Asurion. I had to listen to their lengthy computer generated message of options. When I finally got to speak to a person, I explained our problem. They said she would have to mail the laptop in to them. It would take "a while".

    Meanwhile, Apple offered to repair the laptop for $800 and return it to her in 3 days. We went this route. I called Asurion back and explained to them we would use Apple as my daughter needed the laptop back for a presentation and for finals. They told me they would not reimburse me for the expense of repair! Apple did the repair and my daughter was able to complete her assignments. No thanks to Asurion. They have refused to cover any of the expense! Worthless insurance I discovered!

    I have to say you guys did a phenomenal job in the handling of me as a customer. I broke my phone and Verizon then sent me your company's direction. I went through the process online and got a refurbished phone the next day. I had it for a few days and realized my calls were very broken and people were telling me I sounded robotic at times. Some people would say it was the service but we never had this problem before and we haven't changed where we live either.     Last weekend I accidentally dropped my iPhone 7+ on the concrete destroying the screen to the point that it was unusable.     Very disappointed with their poor customer service. I had to resubmit my claim 3 times even after talking with 3 different people. After the third time they took my claim and denied it saying the phone in question was not the correct phone. I even had the Verizon people tell them they were wrong. After my fourth submission I still received a denial of coverage. The last and by far the most helpful lady I spoke to made her supervisor get on the line with her.     While the carrier’s insurance is easy to set up requires little thought their customer service will prompt you to take another look at options. Try their phone line and it will take you 10 min to get to a person. Prompt after prompt with no option like 0 to get out. My recent experience is an S5 replacement that came with a bad battery. After spending hours setting it up only to unplug it and have it constantly reboot. To add insult to insufficient quality control the agent would not send out a replacement next day as the website states. Instead they are shipping out regular FedEx as this is a continuation of a claim and not an original claim. I.e… I have to suffer for their issues. When escalating the issue I was sent to a corporate phone bank where I was told I would get a call back in 48 hours. Terrible!! I’m thinking other options even at a higher price would be better.
