    When my screen on my brand new Galaxy s10 cracked, I paid the $29 deductible and sent my device to Asurion to be fixed. I was then told by several representatives different reasons as to why my phone was not repaired and sent back to me. The last representative told me that it was because they do not have any screens available in stock because it is a new phone and to call back in 7-10 business days when they would be arriving. When I called back 2 weeks later I found out that was a lie. They really have no idea when the replacement screens would arrive.

    Then I spoke with a supervisor named Oscar, who told me that because of misinformation and the back and forth issues I have experienced, he authorized a replacement device to be shipped to me at no additional cost. He sent me the affidavit to complete and upon submitting my documents I was promoted to pay the remaining deductible to replace the phone. When I called customer service to find out how to proceed, I spoke with 2 more representatives and then a supervisor named Mark (**) who advised me that there are no notes on the account saying I would be sent a replacement device at no additional charge.

    He said sorry for the misinformation. I asked if I could speak with Oscar, and was told that it was not possible and that my complaint would be reported. I was completely lied to and given inconsistent responses with every representative I spoke with. I am so dissatisfied and disappointed with how unprofessional Asurion handled this situation. I have been a customer of Asurion for over 2 years and this was my first claim. I am cancelling my insurance with Asurion because of how bad this experience was.

    I have always had insurance through Apple but I got it through Asurion. My Phone broke Monday evening and I processed the insurance claim Tuesday morning at 10 am. It is now Saturday Evening and the order has not even shipped. Keep in mind it is supposed to ship within 1-2 business days. I called and they said my phone will not arrive till Tuesday or Wednesday. So it will take over a week when my phone was supposed to be here days ago. Half of my job is on my phone so living without a phone for a week has put a complete pause to my business and I have lost 100's of dollars as a result. I understand it is not their fault my phone stopped working. But for paying insurance every month I would expect them to hold up their end of the bargain in delivery the product in a timely manner.

    I then asked if I would get a discount because they did not hold up their end of the deal (by shipping within 1-2 business days) and they said no. As mentioned before, I have always had Apple insurance and in the past when my phone stopped working with Apple insurance I got the phone in 1 day or I was even once given a phone on the spot in the store that day. I was also not charged $150 for a deductible when the phone broke on its own and there was no physical damage to the phone. Do yourself a favor and get APPLECARE and don't waste your time with Asurion.

    I just want to let everyone know that I had some challenging issues when I began my claim. A claim I really had not intended to make, as I was going to upgrade instead, but the "Samsung Note 10 won't be out until August 2019." Having to answer calls by the luck of the draw, every representative cringes when they know what the customer want is not something that is "normally" done, and they know they still must be professional as they represent the company, and rudeness is generally not tolerated by anyone in upper management so ending the call 'sine die' only means the client will call back even more upset.

    Now, I’m an easy person, to deal with, really, but I have followed rules all my 60+ years of life, and I have made exceptions when I saw the need, and surmised that it was the best way to appease all involved with no loss of their dignity. I think that is the proper way all businesses serving people should operate. Be safe, be secure, but be fair. Regardless of what I needed from a customer, I always knew enough that if I didn't get it, I was 100% sure of the person whom I was assisting, was that person. One-hundred percent!

    Nevertheless, my challenges were quickly overcome by the wonderful assistance by Customer Service Representative, Kerri. In addition to her seeing that my problem was solved, and satisfactorily I will add, her explanations even presented me with a learning opportunity that I will surely look into to. Kerri was most helpful with her assistance. The personal attention was something I needed and I appreciate her working in my behalf. When it was all said and done, the resolution gave me good confidence in her abilities, as she definitely displayed an expression of empathy for my situation.

    Sometimes when you deal with insurance companies and the like, they love to be iron maidens with a client/customer, not taking the time to find out what they can do, just being repetitive with telling you what they cannot do. I thank her very much for the ‘can do’ spirit she exhibited. Asurion should be glad they have someone like Kerri in their arsenal.     Sent phone in, it got refused delivery and re-routed to another of their warehouses. Called and was told that actually my broken phone was on its way back to me. Had to get escalated to a supervisor to get sent a phone back (since they already had possession of mine.) Get new phone with envelope to send old phone which I had already sent. Then the emails start and phone calls saying I'm going to get charged $300 for not returning my phone. Had I not kept screenshots of the original tracking number (to provide to them) AND the one that got "refused"(also got a new tracking number) I don't know how I could have proved that they got my phone.

    It has been a week or so since I last had to call them and I'm still not sure I'm not going to get charged. The nice customer service lady wasn't able to provide me with any proof I wasn't going to get charged. It was all really ridiculous. After a few calls from Asurion itself I started getting the threatening calls from a company called "OnProcess", which I guess Asurion gave all my info to. They couldn't dispute the claim, I had to go through Asurion to get them to fix it before the other company could stop calling. There's no excuse, the people I dealt with (excluding the first guy) were all great, the process seems terrible and one-sided in favor of Asurion. I'm filling this out because the email only said to click this link if I was satisfied. Otherwise I can click the other link and fill in a whole form to complain to them.

    Update on 05/11/2019: So, I posted a review earlier this week about Asurion phone insurance for iPhone. I went through A LOT of trouble, I MEAN DAYS of passwords, phone calls, emails, affidavits, store visits, proof of identity to receive my replacement device. When everything was sorted, I paid $199 for a Frankenstein phone replacement. I am returning the phone. What a waste of my time. Don’t get me started about the aggravation.

    Original Review: I recently paid off my phone and as fate would have it, it fell into the toilet from my back pocket when I was using the restroom. It went completely dead. I filled out what I could online of the insurance claim and it wasn't much. However, I reached a serious road block when my phone did not appear in the iCloud Find a Phone feature. According to Asurion, iPhone requires you turn off the Find a Phone feature before anything. Well, since my phone was not visible in the iCloud Find a Phone Feature, it was nearly impossible to access my phone's settings to disable.

    I went to Verizon three times, called Verizon myriad times, called Asurion, called Apple, and finally, someone at Verizon was able to determine that the Find a Phone feature was off and had not been removed. After I filled in my claim, I was told my claim was being submitted for further review. I damaged my phone Saturday, I resolved the Find a Phone issue Monday. It's Wednesday. I have to wait twenty-four BUSINESS hours, before they mail out my new phone. I had to sign an affidavit, send a picture ID. One hoop after another and I am still waiting.

    The time and energy spent on trying to get a phone screen repaired is painful. It took at least 3 times to get a correct claim number. We just needed a screen repaired, and the claim number said we had to get a new phone because we clicked a box that we could not send or receive text messages, etc. Then when I called to explain, they canceled the claim so that we could get a screen repaired. They then told me that they do not have any screens on hand and they need to send me a new device.

    We live in a metropolitan area of 300k people and to not have a screen is absurd. So, I asked if I could talk with one of the local techs to locate a screen and then install it, they said if I did that then it would void the insurance. So, I said, "Fine, let's do the new phone." That means that since we canceled the previous one I had to go through a whole new process for a new claim. The money we spend per year, and the $30 ("co-pay") and the amount of billable time lost trying to convince Assurance to do their job, it is worth it, to save your money, and take it to a repair shop, or Apple store and just have them do it. I believe that the "insurance" does not serve the claimants well.

    I tried to file a claim on my iPhone XS Max 512G that is activated through the e-sim with Verizon. However they keep denying the claim due to the phone not being active on my account. When I call in no one wants to help me and they keep hanging up the phone on me. I have called Verizon and they try to help me but the Asurion team is so rude and I always get put on hold.     The new phone was received within 48 hours. Instructions were clear and the postage paid envelope was a snap. Even a call to Asurion was fast, friendly, and results were achieved. The only reason this isn't five stars is the unreasonably high deductible of $89. Deductible plus monthly insurance rate totalled $284 for the convenience of getting a refurbished phone. (Not a dig at the phone supplied, it is fine but it is not a new phone.)

    I understand this is a contracted amount between my carrier and Asurion, but that means Asurion is half of the reason we have the high cost. If Asurion asserts they do not receive our monthly installment fee, or that it is reduced, might I suggest another round table to discuss. Additionally, it was understood there was a $50 deductible, not $89. I give Asurion FIVE STARS for services rendered but two stars for being too pricey!! Perhaps consumers could find cheaper Asurion-like service outside of the big carriers and their contracts if that is the issue.

    I am very pleased with the how quickly I was able to complete my claim and receive my new phone. My only question or concern is why my deposit is so high with this being my initial claim request? I don’t understand why my deposit was $150 when I have never done a claim before?
