A demo unit would have been built by Davison and presented to possible buying companies for USD 5850. I only received an a4 sheet with a neat drawing of my rough copy. They said this was what cost me USD 5850.

I was told from ** at Davison it would cost me $795.00 and they would take payments as well as they would get 10 % and I would get 90% of the price that the item would make even though I would be making the product all by myself!!! I have read what some of you have said about getting a class action lawsuit against them but here is another thought that would take them down at their knees!!!

Get a hold of your state's attorneys offices and tell them what happened along with all of the paperwork you have and they can and will file charges on them in all the states everyone is in. I'm not a lawyer but I've scared my lawyer to the point that he wants to put me through law school. Also for those on a fixed Social Security income you can also call & complain to "The Governor's Commission for Advocacy for the Disabled". They can do wonders as well and will jump on them and call others they know. How ya like the info. now. I can say I am one of the lucky ones because I haven't sent them a penny yet I have a very good lawyer on speed dial if I ever need him. I'm glad I did the review on these guys.

I did a preliminary with them on 2 products. We sent manufactured samples, documentation and CAD drawings. They had to start from the beginning to catch up to what we had and that was $1400 thrown away. Then we were told who they were going to pitch the products to and neither company had ever done a deal with Davison. They followed with wanting more money for packaging and presentation specific to those companies and we already showed them our packaging. Bottom line we discontinued working with them as all they did in the 6 months was just about zero as far as we were concerned. To top if off we had to get our attorney to write them a letter demanding return of all of our products and information. MOST IMPORTANT FOR ANYONE THINKING OF WORKING WITH THEM IS THE FOLLOWING.

On their web page look on the very bottom on the right side. You will find "inventors information" and "court ordered disclosures." READ THEM BOTH!!! To summarize them both - in the past 5 years 61,425 people have contracted with Davison. The total number of people who received a net profit from the deal is only 31. In the past 26 years the total number is only 767! In the last 5 years the number of people who started a deal with Davison is 292,002 and the number of people who received a written licensing agreement is 357 and the total number of those who made more money in royalties than what they paid out to Davison is only 16. They talk a big story but that is all hot air. Bottom line they take your money and ask for more but you have almost no chance of getting anything. Better odds of winning the Powerball lottery than getting anything from Davison.

I was working with one of Davison's representatives and even drove up there from Maryland at the time to view the office and meet with them. Everything looked nice and they seemed to be on the up and up, but all they did was take my money and I never heard from them again. Lot more to this story but not enough time or space to write it all down. Don't waste your money or time with them.

I was scammed by them for making me think I was going to be big or be somebody one day. I told him I was on SSI...Every month I get my check. I paid them $800 dollars, $60.00 a month until paid. Well I am thinking, "They will have me fixed up." Well my mind got to thinking, "Something isn't right." So I told him, "I don't want to do this no more," and I ask for a refund back. He wouldn't give it back. I was so mad. He said I pay for a portfolio. Nothing but a stupid document saying much of nothing. He used me because he knew I was slow and was sick. I told him, "God doesn't like ugly people running over poor people and I just pray and leave it in God's hand." He was keeping that money to his own use. I was hard so bad down and out, my family and friends laughed at me. Now I feel not a stupid fool. I cried night and day about it. I was so hurt.

Hi all, after reading everyone's stories, I figured I better throw mine in as well... I contacted Davison about an invention I had already built a couple prototypes for. Their salesman ** made a lot of promises and being a multi small business owner, I felt I was pretty good at sniffin' out the crooks... WRONG!!!! I flew to Pittsburgh to meet with this ** in person. Long story short, I bought in to their whole dog and pony show of invention land for the kids and ended up cutting a nearly $10k check and was assured if I commit, then they would send it to all the over 14 companies that might be interested. As time went on, they supposedly had it ready to send to the first company and it got denied. Now this is totally fine and very expected when trying to launch a new idea, but here is where it took a turn for the worst.

When it got denied, they called and wanted more money to go to the next company and my reaction was less than civil. They agreed to take it to another company and I now know that the second attempt never happened. I have tried to get my prototype back along with any and all of the contents of this project. The other thing I forgot to mention is that I was reading some other stories on here of people that went through their prototype they built in a garage being better than the one they built professionally. I also went through the same thing. I would be interested in a lawsuit as well if a group wants to pursue them...

I'm in the process stage 4 where they have done "3D simulations and rendering". They said I would get a 3D cad rendering that I could use to produce a 3D print prototype. When asking for proof, pictures of their test and own prototype they claimed they done. I get very angry arguments and kind of threats. I just await if they really will demonstrate my idea/product to their stated high profile client. Good thing is that I have contacts in that client so I can check if they indeed held the demo or not.

Three years ago I took $10,000 retirement savings to try to get my idea to market. I contacted Davison and received an enthusiastic pitch for my idea. After several companies and repackaging fees, nothing has happened. The communication from Davison was limited to requests for more money to propose my idea to yet one more company. Calls to Davison were mostly one sided. I did most of the talking and they mostly listened to my complaints. The last call from me informed them that I had no more money to give them. I have not heard from them since. I am very disappointed not so much for the loss of money but because I really trusted that they were going to help me with my idea. Throughout the whole process they insisted that I not tell anyone about the idea or contact the companies directly. I know now why.

I have a working prototype of an invention in the area of poultry husbandry. This has one truly unique, proven and invaluable feature to it that is not shared by any other product in this class. For some inexplicable reason Davison negligence to mention this to the company targeted to develop this product and it was turned down. Now Davison want me to pay more money to them so as they can represent to another and lessor company. Furthermore, Davison never showed me anything that they did for the $7,000.00. plus that I paid over to them other than an artist's impression of the product. I could have done that myself.

I had gone to Davison about four years ago... they told me I had a great invention. They would talk to me everyday about raising the funds.... They had done a patent search and there was nothing like this product out there. They assured me the fella that did the search used to work for the patent office. Well once money changed hands the company became very evasive. To get a call response I could wait as much as three months at a time. I had also had my product sent to prospective companies. Found out they never sent the physical item.. after so many kicks at the cat. I told them I wanted my sample and everything back... this took forever. Once getting the product I found it was a very crappy copy - not usable, being it's a tool. Best way to explain the product is to say it had the consistency of a model that a child would build.....

There are many more complaints but here comes the clincher. I decided to manufacture this product properly. Found a USA based sales team. Didn't take long. We became successful. WalMart, Lowe's, Home Depot - all these stores said yes. I was excited, I made it. They wanted copies to see it for themselves first. As this process was taking place guess what we found out... there was a company that had the patent at least a year before me. I had the patent sent to me. It was by a twenty two year old that knows nothing about patents. So I had a provisional patent. Kept it current. Lo and behold all done for nothing. I called the USA patent office with the patent number. And it was confirmed.

Thanks Davison. I could have been a millionaire but now I am poorer than I was from the start.... I have more products but I probably will die with them.. better than the last experience.... I would think our world could have benefited from many good items that will never reach the market due to companies like this.

About 2011 I received an email from Davison ask if I had an invention I might like to have help developing. I replied to the contact as I had an idea for a product. We received the Contact call from Sean and we started the process. It took my Mother and I awhile to write up our invention and include all the information they wanted. We sent that with a Bank transfer of $9,000.00 to get started. Because I was only 18 at the time my mother is my partner in this venture. She is on SSI and only receives a small amount a month for us to live on $720.00. We used $9,000 my Grandfather had left me for college to send the initial money. We received the contracts and signed everything. We were told we had to apply for the patent so we paid the money and did receive to provisional patent. Then we needed to pay an additional $10,000.

On our income of only $720 a month we hardly had enough to live on. This invention was/is intended to pay for my college education. My Mother had left my father and she agreed that when the home they owned together sold, she would pay the remaining money. Well from 2011 to 2014 we receive phone calls I think about every 4 to 6 months to see how things were going and let us know that they had not found a similar product on the market.

In June of 2014 my parents finally sold their house. My father did not split the money evenly. He gave us enough to get two used cars as my Mother's had not passed inspection in 2 years and I couldn't afford to keep putting money in mine. We'd put over $2300 in a 1991 in less than 6 months just so I could commute to school, get my disabled mother to the doctor, and get to the store once a month. My Father gave us $10,000 for whatever we needed. My mother sent that $10,000 to Davison in a bank transfer right after cashing her smaller check.

After that we receive updates every two week from July to Oct. as to where our invention was in the development process. In Oct. they wanted another $2,300 to make a video presentation. We declined as we did not have the money. We received a package in the mail with a marketing photo for the outside of our product, and the packaging concept and a diagram of the product case. With forms to sign so they could present it to a company. We did not sign these papers because we did not know if the product was what we had designed and considering what they said they were going to charge, we wanted to be sure it was what we designed. We requested information on the exact content of the product and not just the case. That was in Oct 2014.

December came and we had not received that information but were told it was the holiday season and they would try to get the information to us before the end of the year. All they had to do was pull the information up on a computer screen and either print it or email it to us as that information was the heart of the product. My Mother has called Sean (His title is VP) repeatedly trying to get this information, but he will not return our calls. Our last contact was just before their company Christmas party as Sean said he couldn’t talk long because he was going to a Christmas party. Also during this call my Mother heard someone else in the office. What happened to confidentiality. Sean told her it was a friend in the office. Employee of the company, friend who must keep client information private or JQ Public who has no such obligations?

We have not received the requested detailed information and there have been no phone calls returned. Because we are on such a tight budget we are very upset, because that money could have paid for heating oil this winter. We did without heat until the second week of January because we didn’t have the money for heating oil. We used two space heaters to warm two rooms. The living room; where my Mother spends most of her time and my bedroom because of my Reynaud’s Syndrome. Mom did without heat in her bedroom at night; really she had no heat at all. We ended up with an electric bill for $600 in December and $400 in January.

Had we had the money we sent to Davison in June we would have had money for heat. Now our food budget is very small because of having to cover the $1000 we owe the electric company. This invention was meant to make life better for us not worse. I spent money meant for college and my Mother paid money we should be living on to make this work. We figured a small sacrifice now and things would get better. They are only worse and the company VP Sean will not return our calls. These people are real good at the smooth sale.

We even visited the company to see what they call their Invention Land. It was really neat with all the cool settings their people get to work in, they even have a conveyor line passing overhead again and again with products that Sean said they had helped develop; but they were too high to look at closely and they moved too fast.

We only saw two other people in this area where everyone was to be working. We were there after lunch so now I have to wonder just where was everyone? We made the 2 hour trip thinking we would learn something about who might be working on our invention, we only met Sean and the tour guide. It was a wasted trip.

We are poor and Sean knew that and it is beginning to look like we were taken advantage of. When you are used to living on only $815 counting $92 food stamps, can you imagine what we could do with 19,000+. We need to band together and file a class action suit. If there is a group already together, please contact us.

Signed up with Davison and everything seemed normal for a few weeks. They sent the pre-development disk which was 100 generic. Stuff on any website. The initial funding was for initial review patent search, etc. What I received was an internet search for competing products and not a patent search. I had already done this online weeks before. I asked for the patent search I was promised and I was arguing for 30" to get them to agree to send it. I don't believe they ever did it until I forced the issue. I had sent them all the packaging complete and finished products and never heard back from them again until I emailed them three or four times.

I finally called their corporate office and asked for a manager. I told them to put everything on hold and send back the product and packaging. Davison failed to produce invention. Davison charged for repackaging, but never repackaged anything. Davison said they would show product to Manufacturing but never showed anything. Davison charged approximately $12,000.00 for services, then did nothing. Davison said they sent out product to Manufactures but only sent out virtual or concept rendering. Davison said manufactures was still in reviewing process but was found to be lying. Contact with Manufactures proved that Davison did not send anything to Manufactures that they wanted to receive, Manufactures wanted ready-made products not ideas to walk thru the process to retail sales. What the Manufactures once again is products ready for market sales.

After long years of frustration and finding one error after another as a result of Davison design and development mode of fraudulent operations and after challenging Davison to show me a paper trail of my product being sent to manufacture for review and Davison refusing to do so, I then contacted the supposed manufacture and asked questions regarding my product being reviewed. The Manufacture told me that they did not know me, have not received anything from Davison and was not at that time reviewing my product. In fact, the manufacture indicated that they do not want to receive anything from Davison to be reviewed because it was their opinion that Davison was a bad company and they did not want to have anything to do with them.

I notified Davison what the manufacture had said thinking that this might well be just another error or fault of Davison’s employees screwing up. But found out differently when the President of Davison, Mr. Frank Vescio then terminated my contract stating that I had breached the contract by talking with the reviewing manufacture. I then contacted the other (4) reviewing manufactures that supposedly had reviewed my product and material and found out basically the same thing. Meaning that none of the manufactures wanted ideas, they all wanted products that had patents and were ready for the retail sales market. I attempted to sue Davison with all my facts but hit a stone wall when it was found a hidden sentence in the original contract stating that I with my signature indicated that I agreed that if in the event I should have a dispute with Davison with my project, then I would file my law suit in the PA court system.

My lawyer is in California and try as I might, Davison has the town locked up solid where as the Lawyers in PA apparently are scared to death to fight the legal machine of Davison because I could not find one single lawyer that had the gumption to file a law suit. I challenged Davison thru the Pittsburgh PA Attorney General’s office, The Pittsburgh PA BBB, the FTC (federal trade commission) and none of them gave a rat’s butt concerning problems stemming from Davison’s corrupt and fraudulent machine. Davison’s mode of fraudulent operations is a con game of looking for the nut under the shell game, then using legal contracts to fool the clients while pursuing a phone tag system that goes nowhere but puts money from the inventors pocket and into the pockets of the Davison crooks.

When a clients product is denied (supposedly) by a (supposed) manufacture, Davison is very attentive to the client, they tell the client, “no problem, we will repackage your product then search for another manufacture to send your product to.” Please note, this does not happen. The product is never repackaged and never sent out, of which the client is charged at $365.00 dollars per repackaging, NOTHING is repackaged and mailed out, it’s all a con game of sending emails or concept rendering. In my case several of the Manufactures indicated that yes they had received emails pertaining to my product, but in each circumstance, they also noted that they answered back to Davison that they DO NOT WANT INVENTIONS OF IDEAS, ONLY PRODUCTS THAT ARE READY FOR RETAIL SALES.

Now, here is the rub for you that is reading my story to understand, for over ten long years I put up with this garbage along with Davison losing my material, not producing the invention the many lies, etc but understand this, WHY WOULD DAVISON SEND MY INVENTION OR ANYONE ELSE'S INVENTION TO A COMPANY THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO THE REVIEWING BUT HAD ALREADY TOLD DAVISON THAT THEY DID NOT WANT TO RECEIVE THE INVENTIONS BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT READY FOR RETAIL SALES. This goes to show the important fact that Davison did not set up any kind of professional base or communications with the Manufactures nor did they have permission from the Manufactures to receive the Davison's thousands of clients material to be allowed to review products.

This proves that Davison is a total fraud and to attempt to do business with them is a sham along with being an out and out shame. Approximately five years ago, Davison was sued by the FTC (federal trade commission) on behalf of thousands of Davison Victims winning a judgment of $13 Million dollars. Davison was forced to share their business information of which showed they had acquired over 850 thousand clients from the beginning of their lucrative business of shafting the inventor of which only 16 individuals were successful in receiving royalties.

That’s less than one percent of the total victims that made any money from their venture. If you are reading this information and still decide that you want to fall into their trap of greed, then go ahead and be a fool like me and thousands of other idiots. Take notice, you will be shafted just like the rest of us stupid people. If you want to join me in a court battle and want to help me fight them notify me.

230+ complaints in last 3 years, 200+ complaints regarding Products/Services, what has to be done to end this madness? This company has been in trouble in the past for what seems to be the same types of issues still going on today. See attached letters/pictures to their President & Licensing Coordinator.

Our saga with Davison started in 2009 and is on-going today. After successfully securing US Patent #US ** on November 8th, 2008, we engaged with Davison in 2009 to assist us with marketing the patent/concept to potential manufacturers. At the time, we had a fully functional prototype (see **), video of it working, and positive feedback from all who saw it. Davison convinced us our prototype was not good enough, and they had to create a new one that was more prepared for manufacturing, this of course came with a cost of ~$9,220.

Their prototype was completed in 2009 and we were charged another ~$400 x 2 to create two boxes to ship the prototype to two potential companies; shipments that never occurred. In 2010 we questioned what was going on and were given a run around. We asked that the prototype be shipped to us in Florida so we could ensure it worked, but they could not ship it as it was too awkward and costly to package? Really? No activity occurred the remainder of 2010. So, in 2011 my father drove from Allentown, PA to Pittsburgh, PA to pick it up and drive it to me in Florida, where it was tested and it failed miserably. We have a video of it in a pool, with an 8 year old on it and it sank like an anchor.

Following the failed testing of the prototype their educated engineers created with high tech equipment, (remember, we had a working prototype from the start that was made in a shed without high tech equipment), we wrote the President and Licensing Coordinator requesting a refund. A phone call ensued and Frank Vescio, the President, assured me they would make things right at no cost to us. So, a year later, in 2012 they developed a second prototype and sent us a video of it working, not nearly as well as the one we initially created in 2008.

Since 2012, we have had no further activity. We have been working with them since 2009 and not one company has yet had the opportunity to review it. We are in to Davison for a grand total of $18,220. DON'T DO IT PEOPLE. Find a better, more ethical company to work with. Don't make the same mistake me and apparently lots of other folks have. This is most likely a lost cause but after seeing all the current, similar, complaints; I figured I would add our saga to the mix. If anyone is pursuing legal action, count us in. Corporations should not be permitted to take advantage of hard working Americans this way.

We contacted Davison with an idea for an invention. We had tried another company and should have learned a lesson from that, but sadly, no. We had diagrams, a patent pending and a lovely prototype. They asked us to send all of that to them along with a large check and the requests for checks kept coming along with the promise that everything was looking awesome and we should be on our way to seeing it on the market soon. The salesman we dealt with was very personable, persuasive and kept in constant touch with us. They had to produce a sales video and some slick brochures. When that was all done, they turned us over to the marketing department.

We have heard from twice in the last several months. We were told by the lady in marketing we would hear from them at least once a month. The last time she talked to us she said "Things are slow what with the holidays and everything". She also said the company they had submitted our invention to was not responding and if we wanted to have another company look at it, we needed to send another check. Guess we didn't read the fine print! Oh! And we had asked for them to send us the prototype back and they said they would. I believe that was last summer and we still have not gotten that back. I would try anything else but going with this company to market a product, knowing what I know now.

They stated that regardless of the status they would have to do a patent search, etc. for a fee. I told them that I would not pay for something that was already done by a reputable attorney. I asked them to withdraw my request, which I am told they did, about 2 months ago. Today, I got a call from them with the same request. Trying to rationalize this with them, she just hung up. Professional - not. After looking for reviews on Davison, I see all the litigation against them. I feel I am fortunate for not using them as my "partner." Check out any invention assistance organization before engaging with them and potentially losing your money. There are many articles written about the process of finding your "partner."

I mailed them a check for the $1,000 they said they needed, and after the check cleared I then received their proposal showing the total of $10,000 for marketing and targeting companies. I began paying $150 per month and have paid over $2,000 to them. My son began to research this company online recently and showed me all the hundreds of complaints. It was a design for a personal breatherlyser to put on your key chain. Davison then asked me for a further $5000 for research so I could get a prototype made. I now had paid Davison $6000. Davison sent me a picture of the design they had spent $5000 designing. It is a blue plastic cup that you drink out of, it has a notch on the side to count how many cups of water you have drunk.

Anyone with any intelligence will understand that if I had wanted a plastic cup with notches on the side I would have made one for $1. The design they sent me is 100% different to what I had asked for. You cannot blow into it, it doesn't analyse your breath and it has no electronic readings. I have all my paperwork, emails and a picture of the plastic cup they sent. I contacted Davison on many occasions and got nowhere. In fact they were never available. Why? Because they do not want to give parole refunds of course. They have taken $6000 of my money and given me something that I didn't ask for? What can I do? Sounds too good to be true, right? They take my idea and make us both lots of money, right? WRONG. They do make lots of money, they just don't make YOU lots of money. Before you think about getting into bed with this con-artistry, sneaky company, ask them one question: "What percentage of your customers have made an overall profit?" Meaning, what percentage of your customers actually made more money than what they gave to Davison. I forget the actual number, but it was under 1%. I think they were part of a lawsuit and had to have that on their website for a while, but I can't find it anymore.

For those of you that don't know how this works: You have an idea and they say that can help you make lots of money. So they will ask you to pay lots of money for "development". They keep calling and emailing until you do pay them. If you do pay, the phone calls stop and you don't hear anything from them. When you contact them for an update, you will get a run around to the effect of, "It's still being worked on, and we need for you to be patient." After literally YEARS of waiting, they will need additional money to make other deals or developments. They make it seem SO easy and fool-proof that you will make money, but the numbers do not lie. They do not have a lot of customers actually making a profit. Frankly, signing up for a service like this, you kinda EXPECT to make your money back, and that is exactly what they make you think. I'll give them that, they are very sneaky and clever how they make you feel good and take your money. I know it's just sales tactics, but that's not an excuse for just being a rotten person/company.

I contacted Davison a few years ago and told them I was not interested. They will still not stop calling and emailing me no matter how many times I have "unsubscribed" and told I was removed. At least 4 times that I have documented now. Basically, I never decided to pursue one of my ideas, so they keep calling trying to get me to give them money... Worse than a debt collector.

In Nov. 2013, my partner and I came up with an idea for another cat toy. We had contacted Davison one year prior, spent about 700.00 and decided not to go any further. This time however, we thought perhaps with our second idea we could swing the higher price. The presentation tape in 2012 was fairly professional but we were not prepared. In 2013, for 750.00 they sent a poorly done patent search tape with products they gave the Davison logo to but were created by other companies. The other sales pitch tapes were copies of 2012's. I was encouraged to use their email portal, the same one used to sign documents and to look at blogs and Davison products, etc. The sales Rep was rushing me to sign the 12,000.00 contract and at the same time seemed suspicious as to why I came back! He asked numerous times.

Soon I found Davison Ads following me everywhere I went on the net. Some of my emails from Davison were deleted from my files. My computer and cell phone were being hacked on a daily basis. When I checked their portal at one time I found a financial document of mine behind the contract page. I talked to the Rep about it and he never even denied it, he just sat there quiet. I took plenty of video of the hacking including what I just mentioned as well as Davison Ads that they had the nerve to make personal comments to us inside their Ad boxes. By late Dec. I became so disgusted that I simply told him I was not interested any longer.

My partner was very sick and passed away in Feb. 2014. At this time I was still getting emails and occasional phone calls even though I told him my partner died and I still was not interested. Even though the little contract ended in Jan, the calls lasted until May! I only wish I had read the Consumer Affairs Reports about scam companies and the BBB back in 2013. This time it was so obvious with the shoddy DVD job. They did not even show the products that were actually very similar to my idea. They conveniently left those out. And to make matters worse at the tale end of it all, the sales Rep has the nerve to say, "we may have something similar to yours coming out very soon". I am not finished with Davison!

    Updated review: Nov. 17, 2014

Problem has been resolved through a mutual understanding. Integrated rendering is not the same as an actual product design or replica. And people can be misformed by not fully understanding what the integrated rendering is all about. I still trust Davisons even after studying reviews because people can sometimes misrepresent what the companies intentions is all about. Davisons explains printed in black and white what they are all about.

They cannot guarantee that a clients idea will be sold or even marketed. They do not guarantee and take a risk that they will be able to find a targeted Corporation who would be interested in transforming your idea into a product and this can be quite costly. not every idea is going to sell or have an opportunity to be sold on the market. Before you take the risk ask yourself can you afford to take a loss if your idea never sales? Designs look good but it depends on what companies are looking for and what retailers and consumers are looking to buy. They are not a SCAM they are a RISK!

    Original Review: Oct. 24, 2014

I contracted with Davison September 2013. I was then assigned to work with Tonette ** whom was my project manager until finalization of the proto-type I received in the mail along with my provisional Application patent with USTPO. I paid all the fees of $100.00, $595.00 and $5,895. I received a provisional Patent of my product Idea in July and it was turned over to Licensing and Royalties Team the same month. I then worked with Matt in licensing Dept., had two scheduled interviews via phone conversations. He then in our last interview explained to me that he had been in touch with our targeted corporation and they had no interest at this point and time in my idea. So during our conversation he exclaimed that there is another target he would like to approach but he didn't tell me money was involved until I downloaded via e-mail. I had no idea I was looking at more money too raise.

Now hit with only two choices of which a video I was to watch simplified the terms and conditions of where another former client had to pay more than once the fee of $385.00 dollars in order to change the prototype already been presented in a provisional application I previously had submitted to USTPO. This fee would change the first targeted name and we would also have to pay another fee to USPTO to target the other proposed corporation in which they didn't explain this to me for it does not take a rocket scientist to know how the process works.

I am wondering now with all the reviews if I am being scammed also, for I have gone broke just to make my dream a reality and get a product out to market that would benefit people of all ages with education being the focus of my proposal. I did get the pleasure of meeting Tonette and Sam in person on a trip to Invention land in April 2014 as I wanted to see for myself was they legit. I do not have any more funds available and the contract they want to fill out now is the longer approach method. Either way I am at a stand still and feel now this has been a scam for they surprise you with hidden costs and build you up to think your product Idea is so great and yet I feel it is but maybe they need to explain a little better in their interviews that there may be no hope whatsoever for your product to ever have a chance for a REAL World manufacturing!

I am in no way slamming their name, just want to know why all the hidden costs and the time frame needs to be more specific. I feel like a great product will now never get to production because I trusted a Corporation who has let me down. They say "consider yourself fortunate to have gotten this far." Okay what a Provisional Patent a design they are attached to? Almost 7K plus out of pocket expenses never to be a product that will help so many students who have so much potential to become productive if they could have technology that would help them be just that. I am disappointed for sure.

I haven't been scammed by these companies because I was warned about the potential scam of these companies. At first as a beginner in dealing with these things I came close to being scammed by them. They did not ask for any fee at first. Just a submission of my idea. I submitted it to them and they told me it was great. They told me a lot of good things about my idea and suggested a fee at the ending of our conversation over the phone. If you are an aspiring inventor or current inventor my advice is never share your idea with anyone over the phone and if you really want anyone to present your idea for you, hire a professional lawyer, not someone from an invention company. But the best way would be to present the idea to a company yourself since no one knows the invention as well as you, the inventor. Before going into the invention process first educate yourself about it from people who have been through it and who have a lot of wisdom and advice on this topic. Join a local inventor's group and share experiences with others on the same path. Me as an aspiring inventor am planning to do the invention process on my own. That way I save a lot of money. I am even hoping to sell my invention with a group of selected people over ebay.

About a year and a half ago I submitted an idea for slippers for kids that would light up with LED lights at night so they could walk safely from their bedroom to the kitchen/bathroom without having to cut on every light in the house. Anyway about a year and a half ago I submitted the idea to Davison. And I did not have the thousands of dollars they wanted to get started so I just held onto my idea thinking it would be safe. After all nobody knew except Davison and my immediate family. But lo and behold my daughter was online today and what pops up for sale? Yep. The idea I submitted. My slippers complete with LED lights. So word of warning, if you have an idea do not tell them because if you can't afford it, it will magically appear a year later as a finished, ready to be sold product. They are CROOKS!

Father had invention idea of a belt that people can snap on easy, stroke people etc., because hard to get into loop with one arm. They said good idea. They would sell it. We would collect a percentage. The more we gave them, higher percentage for us. We first gave them money and a fee to get it patent by patent company. Patent is approved. We give them like 7 or 8 thousand… they say belt will be engineered by them. And they tell father they will give him a copy of belt. They say they will contact companies - have one in mind.

They then say they recommend we give them another 2 grand for a presentation film to companies. They send us a demonstration, become suspicious when it’s a 30 second trailer that says stay the course. We never have received a belt. I read the FCC had won a lawsuit against them for several million dollars. Part of the deal was this company was supposed to tell customers the odds of receiving compensation are very low. We never received no such thing. It’s amazing they stay in business...

She told me I didn't have to worry about the whole amount of the Idea and Patent! That I can pay anything I want toward the $10,000.00 it would cost to Market my product.

Since she left (By the way I found out Myself), 2 More months went by. They never called me and when I called, they assigned me to another person, which I spoke to once--we set up a time and appt. and he never called. I had to call each time and twice they called me to re-schedule the Appt for the Phone Information. When I did get to speak to him he told me watch the video he sent and I told him the first person I had months ago sent it to me.. OH! He said "That's not the right one," and set up another appt. Again he never called.... 3 Times and no response. I think they are giving me the runaround but still want more money. So far I got nothing but Paper info in the mail today telling me to watch another Video.

This company needs to be put out of Business. I am going to report this Scam operation to the Attorney General if I do not get my money back. They are not fulfilling their end of the Contract. It should have been executed in a Timely manner. I am not at all satisfied with this Company!! I heard about Davison.com from TV before 2 months. I was so happy to find "finally" who will create my Idea. I went to Davison.com and I sent my Idea "and they promise to call me within 3 days." After 2 days they called me with some questions about my Idea and when we finished from our conversation he promise to call me back again after few days for discussion again around that idea and he was asking to send any design or pictures for my idea through email to learn more about it. I was very happy because they are interesting "as what I saw in that moment" and after few days he called again and in the last of calling he asked to check my email.

He sent agreement to pay 795$ to make the product with discount for 100$ and nothing about other payment in the future and no talking about it. Then after a few days he asked to freight a sample to his company because they are excited to do my product and when I freighted it to them (cost 200$) he stopped calling me for 12 days with no justify or answering to my emails. After that he called me for a few minutes to say he was busy and I need to pay now from 2000$ to 4000$ to start to create my product!! "What" you didn't tell me before if there is a payment in the future and nothing about it in the first agreement and he was trying to justify for more than 30 minutes about why I need to pay this money.

I checked my email to see "the second agreement"? and it was talking about 4 options: 1- 165$ for hour. 2- 14,720$. 3- 12,720$ with 5% for Davison. 4- 10,720$ with 10% for Davison!! The great thing I did yesterday is visiting my friend and talking about this company and he said, "why you don't read the disadvantages or people complaints about Davison?" and Thank you very much for this website, they save my money. Really thank you guys for sharing your experience about this company. I was excited to go next week to the bank to provide 12,720$ but now I'm so happy to see your complaints guys I will not do it and I will stop here. I agreed and put that amount on my poor mother's credit because he said they would get to the proper people for marketing. With calls and emails back and forth and a filing report with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, they changed my design completely but sent it a company. I was then contacted to pay another $2,495.00 for an Inventomercial product. It was turned over to marketing to another person (whom I will not mention) That was very rude and never available to speak with that said the company did not accept my idea. I have called several times to reach out to the original person and he said he would try and help.

I am still trying to get some answers but no replies and can only leave messages to my unanswered questions and now out over $6000.00 dollars. I too echo and share everyone's pain. Although I only "gave" the initial $795, it still put me in a worse bind that I was already in financially. I recently talked to my "contact" from Davison to discuss the "royalties" and I started getting very suspicious. As we talked, it sounded more like she was trying to sell me some insurance or something. I noticed that her voice went from very enthusiastic and cheerful to demanding and patronizing. I really don't like to be given ultimatums and like everyone else, I don't like to be cheated out of my hard-earned money, and this is exactly what I felt like she was trying to do the more we talked.

It's funny how it went from four options to actually working out a payment plan, and that's when I stopped paying attention to her. We have another call scheduled in a couple of days, but I think I'm just going to be occupied at that particular time. I guess it will just be another $795 that I will have to pay the credit cards. I know the invention thing is a risk and I was willing to take that risk, but honestly, if they had just been at least half truthful and told me that there would be more to pay (a lot more) down the road, I might have reconsidered.

What really ticked me off is when she told me that around this time next year, I could be taking my two young boys on a nice vacation to Disneyland, but most importantly even than money, I wanted my two young boys to be proud of their dad for doing something productive that would ultimately benefit them in their futures. Heck, even my wife was happy for me having this initiative. Now I have to tell her that this is basically a scam and that I just threw more money down the drain. Way to go Davison! My initial response is that inventing is a risky thing. I have 5 products that I've developed and brought onto the market. All sold and all were eventually knocked off by other manufacturers. It's the nature of the game. I've been through Davison's initial $695 bit and have to say it was a little disappointing in its substance. I think that most of it was to protect themselves and they were upfront about that. The Product I have brought to them has already been manufactured so I'm looking to re-manufacture it and find new retailers. I've read the complaints and some of them make me suspicious of Davison, but others... the majority seem to be the same complaint written by different people with the same misconception of how the inventing process works. They are a fee based service. They won't tell you your product is going to be a success or failure. They will try to sell you their services. I'll update this site as I move forward.

Then the calls kept coming daily. I was excited and didn't think anything suspicious. Then more questions about my idea, questions about if I had a lawyer, or if I already had a pattern design worked out. Still I didn't think anything of it - still excited being that I was new to the invention platform. Now, I see my invention passing me in the streets every day. It's the 3-wheel motor cycles. I was sent a certificate from the Davison Company with the original name of the motor bikes on it, and in pursuit to find my justice because it's wrong. Very wrong for a company to make fools of so many people who trust and share very creative and life changing ideas that would move the world forward to enjoy and experience change from its original creators. I recently contracted with Davison, only for the first $695. I won't continue doing business with them and here is why:

The results I got from Davison were rather poor, even just from a conducting business perspective. First, I received a "receipt" for my payment and nowhere on it did it say the "amount of payment" or $695 specifically. It only mentioned the $795 I was originally asked for and "savings" - $100. It did not include the final total of $695 at all. I thought this was unclear and I could not even be sure what I had paid (it was a debit payment). I brought it to the representatives attention straight away and she did not acknowledge that there was anything wrong with it at all. I told her I could not be sure what they debited on my card. She proceeded to matter-of-factly explain the meaning of what was there to me and I got nowhere. A 5th grader could tell you that was a lousy excuse for a payment receipt.

What followed was a series of quite scripted telephone exchanges, I received some poorly made & incredibly useless (no real information) CD's, DVD's. Whole sections wouldn't even play on 2 of them, but other parts were fine..? Again, I mentioned this to the rep. and weeks later, I received the entirely wrong sections in a data file. Then I received a letter explaining excitedly, that a specific company was interested in our product. It seemed to me to be another 'form' letter with certain specifics tailored to us. Then a barrage of calls from the rep. asking if I got a letter from George Davison himself, and she's acting all excited like this was so great. I told her yes I got it, and that I figured it was pretty much a standard letter often sent to clients. The letter also stated quite clearly, that Davison had made over 30 product presentations to this one company and obtained license agreements for exactly "0" (zero) of them. I did not find that exciting. The rest of Davison's actions were few and seemed just as choreographed for effect as the others.

Soon, and without any further mention of 'that company,' another contract shows up asking for a 'minimum of $10,000+ up front' or '$160+ an hour, plus expenses' for them to continue "product development". They want to charge us to make a physical model (prototype, I guess) of our item and design packaging too, plus get us started on a provisional patent application. Thing about the provisional patent app. sent to us is, our idea is already patented, and the rep is fully aware of that. Yet we received the applications and "she" mentions the app. in the supposedly written/signed herself letter that came with the packet. This one, high titled, person is supposedly working directly with us, obviously doesn't even write (or edit) her 'own' letters. You-see, she had made a big fu-fu storm about my partner already having a patent, saying he hadn't needed to do that, just a week or two before that, and then sends us the pre-patent app. anyway? No-way, the letter was another generic form letter that mentions the app. as a standard. Most people don't have a patent yet either when they go to Davison.

One thing about Davison though, is that all over their paperwork, on every scrap of material they put out, there are strong warnings about how unlikely an inventor working with them will ever make a cent in profit off of their invention. (I finally came to see this as a attempt by Davison to minimize their responsibility when products brought to them never even see a store shelf.) So if a person just reads all of the paperwork they will come to understand it's a huge, bad risk, at least with Davison.

Davison also states they are in the business of providing "FEE BASED SERVICES" nothing more or less than that. Think about that. I did, and my conclusion is that Davison's interest lies in selling certain services, what they can or want to sell, and not necessarily anything else - nothing else. They're not really in the "get your product on the store shelves business"...are they?? I don't think so, not one-bit, now.

As for the prototyping and packaging... both are useless and huge money should not be put into them WITHOUT AN ENTITY ALREADY WILLING TO BACK A NEW PRODUCT. That stuff gets an idea no closer to store shelves. A professional prototype isn't necessary when promoting an idea on paper. A manufacturer or retailer hasn't approved Davison packaging, and often use their own packaging.

I will say I learned a lot. Only a drop in the bucket I'm sure, but much more than I knew before this encounter with Davison. Perhaps not a total waste. Remember to think for yourself.

My experience with Davison was a REAL RIP OFF/FRAUD. After I made my payment of $695.00 things started to look nice and professional. Meanwhile, they bombarded me with a lot of paper information and CDs for me to watch. Everything looked nice until, I received the "NEW PRODUCT SAMPLE AGREEMENT" that explained the "RETAINER AND ROYALTY" agreement. There were four options that I could choose from: Option 1: $165.000 U.S. dollar per hour expenses. Option 2: $14600 U.S. dollars. Option 3: $12600 U.S. dollars and a 5% royalty assigned to Davison. Option 4: $10600 U.S. dollars and a 10% royalty assigned to Davison. When I saw those numbers I felt impotent because those payment were insane and because I had given them $695.00 that I collected over the period of one year, working in a restaurant where I had to deal with nasty and unhappy people. I felt very bad about what I have just done. I was never told that at one point I was going to have to come up with more money out of my pocket. But well, that's their hook to get at least $695.00 from the client.

My suggestion to whoever gets to read my message is to do a deep research about the company (Davison) in this case. Davison will take $695.00 when you submit your idea and if later on doting the process, you cannot afford to pay option 1, 2, 3 or 4, they already have taken $695.00 from your account. From there on, they will simply wait for other people to submit more ideas and try to take at least $695.00. DAVISON GOT ME VERY ANGRY AND I CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT NOW. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. I have contacted Davison with my idea as well. This is not a scam. With that said, it is a risk. Let me help to break things down for you all. Maybe a little insight to how the real world works. Patents and or provisional patents are only as good as your lawyer. Legal Zoom can give you a provisional for about $250. If you don't have drawings, add another $150. So there is $400. Yes, you can run a check on 20-year patents to see if your idea is already protected for no cost and you should before you do anything. BUT YOU DON'T NEED A PATENT, to have a successful idea. Look at a lot of products on the market. They will say right on them - Patent Pending.

Ok now for my idea I need tooling. MY BEST FRIEND'S DAD is in the industry of making products and still charged me $4500 for tooling fees, and another $1000 for 100 units of my "TEST" product. He also did not charge me for his time in designing the product and all the changes we had made to it over the course of about 1 and a half years (Add another $2000 for his time). Once I thought we were done, it took almost 7 months to get my test product. Now packaging, again a dad of a friend's company could help me package as a test, 20 units for about $1800. This took another 6 weeks.

HERE IS THE KICKER. You live in a little town somewhere in America, so how do you let the masses see your idea? INFOMERCIAL... That will run you in the thousand ... more than $5000. How about getting all dressed up and hit your local stores that may take it on. GOOD LUCK and how about your BIG CHAIN STORES... NO WAY BUDDY... I have tried. So to recap, $10,000 spent (and this was a deal price) and about 3 years.

I have yet to give Davison any money, but I intend to, NOT because They think it's a good idea. That's their job to encourage you that this is a good idea, but because of the feedback I have gotten on my own. They have the one thing I don't, relationships with large companies that will PAY YOU MONEY. Either by selling it at their stores, and in most cases nationwide. Or by buying your product outright.

Just know this people. It takes money to make money and you won't make a dime if you don't take a risk. If a company from AFRICA CALLS YOU... That is a scam! If you can't find them after you give them your info, THAT IS A SCAM. Davison is located at 595 Alpha Dr. Pittsburgh PA 15238. Their phone number is 1-800-544-3327. And can be seen on several websites, Davison.com (NOT DAVIDSON) and Inventionland.com. I do not work for this company, I do not have ties with this company, but I have done my research and from what I have seen is real. JUST KNOW THIS, their disclaimer says the following: Less than 1% of all clients ever make money. If you go to Las Vegas, and drop $5000 in a weekend, because you didn't win, do you ask for your money back? It's a gamble for sure. The question then is, Is the RISK worth the REWARD? And for most of us the answer is NO, but a scam it is not.

Anyways they canceled the moment I said notary and the pages were going to be counted and they would could and never split a few here and there in the future. I worked for Verizon and the frauds of signatures on the computer are out of your level of cohesiveness. Investigations of said missing papers, folks blaming the internet or the providers' servers. Well it was all investigated and they lose because there is a copy of the original page count.

Don't let anyone tell you to sign any documents on the computer. Have the contracts review, signed and witnessed and notarized and make copies and set on in a safe place for court date. First of all, I just want to say I am so, so sorry for all of you who lost so much to this seemingly, worthless company. I actually had tears in my eyes as I read some of the reviews. My heart and very best wishes go out to each and every one of you. I pray that somehow they are forced to make things right with you and you get your money back. I too submitted my idea to them, but thankfully, I've only given them $100. I am on disability and barely surviving myself. I've been waiting for my installment from my backpay from SSI to send Davison the other $695 or whatever it is they want.

I was actually trying to find their email address to say I would be sending the rest of the money first thing Monday morning, and I just happened to stumble on this site by mistake. Or maybe not by mistake. Maybe it's my guardian angels who brought me here. I don't know but I'm sooooo glad I DID. I've got to tell you, I was floored when I read all these stories.I wondered at times if I was doing the right thing or if I was being scammed. But they also sent me all the videos of people supposedly very happy and making money off their inventions. I really wanted to believe, like everyone else that they were legit...so I DID.

I was fully prepared to send them the money they ask for until now! That is certainly not going to happen. I must say tho', the ending of this business relationship is bittersweet. I really, really wanted it to all be true that my product would be put on QBC and they would help make my dream come true. What a dirty shame. To play with people's emotions like that and not even care that they are hurting people. Not only financially, but inside as well. Again, I am so sorry for all of you. And I hope you all get your money back godspeed.

Review complaints, bad attitude from his guy when he was talking to me when he found out I changed my mind, and talking over me and not listening, but the president/manager was very nice and courteous to me!

I do believe if you pay attention to their explanation of how the system works with them, you would understand that they do not promise your product will be the exact same as you would like and they don't guarantee any results, so if you're in for the ride go with them or any company like them! The invention thing is a risk no matter how you look at it, it doesn't guarantee that you will succeed at it, so if you want to live your dream.... My experience was much like everyone who got jipped. But the thing is I did this back in 07, with breaks in between accumulating money to get my idea/product into the market. It took me at least till 2010 to finalize everything. I used my families tax returns, two years of unemployment and kept working to invest in the targeted corporations they make presentation to. With the first targeted corporation payed for from the completed project, I did an additional payment of 385.00 for the next targeted corporation and failed to meet the clientele of those corporations. Losing my cool I felt mislead and began to try and come to reason with them, so they offered to do an additional 2 more presentation (but not at the same time), given the months needed to wait for a response which was months at a time but they wouldn't call in between to touch bases like how they did asking for more money to move to the next stage(s).

The funny thing I didn't get was that, they told me I could not contact those (4) targeted corporations because it goes against their policy. Another thing is they did not make my product the way I said to and they were giving me the run around about how their way is better for future presentations and the whole idea of presenting to corporations wasn't the product itself but the concept of the product. All of this was told to me after they had already completed the prototype. I am still in shock after putting my trust in them, giving them the benefit of the doubt hoping to be successful and have my own business. I can go on and on but writing this is making more and more frustrated.

I recommend saving your money on them, cut out the middle man, attend expos of your category, make the connections with people of the same status as you, find manufacturing companies anyway you can and produce the product and do the presentations yourself. Start of small, going to small retail stores, get feedback and take it from there. Please let me know if there is going to be any legal action against these guys because by the looks of it we need to get together and make things right for us. Let me know how I can help. I am currently in the process of figuring out what can I do.

They were supposed to refund the $2000, because they were supposed to send me DVDS and the contract for an ungodly amount to pay the $8770. I submitted my idea in 2011. Months prior, I saw a story on CBS news about this successful woman who had her idea of a meatball rack taken from an idea to the market. She did it all through Inventionland, a Company owned by Davison. It was portrayed as a wonderful Company with people that were experts in developing an idea into a product and taking it to the marketplace. The CBS story went behind the walls of the Inventionland business and it looked like a Disneyland for entrepreneurs. Over a 2 year period, I paid the Davison Company around $7,000. I stopped before sending the last $3,000 development fee they wanted.

It took me a long time to get the courage to go with Davison. I read a few old complaints about them, but I thought my idea was a useful product that had great potential. Their contract tells you the success rate is very low, but I took a deep breath and with sweating palms signed contracts and sent checks to Davison. I NOW KNOW THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE! Other than the Davison contracts, nothing from their side is in writing. They switch Directors on you through the course of development which creates huge communication holes. Nothing is put in writing. All assurances and promises are made over the telephone, not in writing and believe me when I say THEY LIE.

The so-called patent search in the beginning was laughable. The very first design approval sheet I received was a slap in my face. I submitted a rough design of an elaborate specialty case and when I received the first design sheet, it looked like a binocular case. In fact, I sent them a pic of my old binocular case I had as a kid and it looked almost identical to their design. What is unique and special about something I can pull out of my closet? The substitute Director insisted it was correct. I thought I was in a Twilight Zone episode. Keep in mind that the design sheets look nice with great shadowing effects, but there are absolutely no measurements, no material specifications and no dates on these sheets.

I documented every call, I dated everything I received and I dated everything written to Davison. I have a complete timeline of events and summaries of every phone call to and from all Davison personnel. I got them to go through many design modifications that came close to being correct, but they refused to make the last modification. Lucky for me I guess. They are slick and even with all my documentation, I pretty sure I would not win an Arbitration case against Davison. It's just a shame they can stay in business taking an average of $7,000 to $18,000 from lots and lots of people who have a dream of creating a product and making some money too. If a class-action suit is ever filed, please let me know.

I sent by email, all the information about my idea - even the sketch of each part of my idea. I knew exactly what I wanted and I sent everything to allow them to work in the good way.

When I received the sample, what a surprise when I saw it. It was like I asked to build a Mercedes but the sample was a car without name. They did not have any reason to do something else. Everything was written in a file that I sent them in the beginning. I am sure that they did not work on my documentation. They are wrong. I have returned the document "DESIGN APPROVED BY" with a date and a signature with a word explaining all differences with my concept. I got a phone call from the Senior Director of New Products asking me to sign a second time the same document without any note. I refused right away.

Ten days later I got a phone call from the Managing Senior Director of New Products telling me that they followed my idea and they don't understand why I do not agree the sample. Now the issue drags. If somebody has an idea to resolve this issue, you are welcome. I know, there is already around 100 complaints, one more... I first submitted an idea to Davison in July 2013, and got a response in August 2013. At first the frequent calls from the "Director of New Product" was more than exciting because it meant someone saw your vision and was willing to help you get your idea out into the world. I was told there was a "pre-development" fee and I could submit payments. So when I finally paid off the initial "pre-development" fee of $795.00 (with an $80 savings discount... Woohoo... sarcasm), I started getting less and less phone calls - but when the calls did come in, it was to ask me for more money... At first I put off a couple of the calls, but then I started to accept a few to chat and see where things were at, and believe me, I was not going to give up any more money because I keep coming back to those questions everyone has in the back of their mind - What was there to show for it? What did my pre-development money go towards?

It seemed that every phone call, I was asked for more money. It is money which I do not have; money that was hard earned, and because I was caught up in the hype and belief that someone actually wanted to help, I believe now that I was scammed. I am out $795.00. I would say that I got off cheap compared to some of the others on here, but if there is a Class Action lawsuit in the works, sign me up.

I contacted Davison in May of 2010. I was then assigned to Mark ** who was my project manager. In speaking with Mark we discussed coverage's and cost in regards to pro-typing and production and etc.. At the end of this conversation with Mark which included product rendering my fee had come up to $12,000. After that process was completed I was then put in contact with Wilma who is in the Licensing department. Wilma and I discuss patenting my invention and we also discussed several companies that were interested in my invention. In the meantime I was contacted by Davison and was asked if I was interested in being in a reality show. Wow was I excited. I was contacted by someone name Meredith ** whom I had several conversation by phone and by Skype with in regards to the reality show. Meredith sent me a video camera to record myself discussing how I came up with the idea for my invention. Long story short that is how I ended up in the reality show.

Davison flew me to Pittsburgh for the first half of filming for the reality show and upon me returning home from that first shoot I was contacted by Wilma and was advised that the companies that my invention had been pitched to had turned it down my invention. I was then advised by Wilma prior to my last and final shoot that if I wanted Davison to pitch my invention to more companies I would need to send an addition $375. In which I agreed to pay. Upon returning to Pittsburgh to Davison for the final shooting of the reality show I was talking to some of the cast members about me having to target other companies, little did I know I had a contract that's when I meet Mr. D himself. Mr. D explained the whole ordeal about me having a contract and at the end of taping I was awarded a royalty check for $14,000.

After returning back home I received a call from Mr. D stating that he had a contract that he had overnighted for me to sign and needed me to send back immediately and that a copy of the contract would be sent to me for my records. Needless to say I never received a copy of that contract. I called Wilma several times and she could never tell me why I had not received a copy of the contract. Wilma did inform me that the company stated that for the first year they would only manufacture 5000 copies of my invention. I asked why I had not received a copy of my contract and that's when I was then giving over to Daniel ** who is Vice President of Licensing. Boy did he go up one side of me and down the other. Mr. ** informed me if a company wanted my invention that the company did not need my patent to manufacture the invention and in the same breathe told me how brilliant I was. But still till this date no contract, no product.

If anyone watched the reality show you would see that I have two inventions that were developed under my name on that show. The second invention I have not seen nor heard anything about since the reality show. I have since requested for Davison to send me my pro-type which I have now, but my second invention has not been seen nor heard of. Now this is in no way an angry or derogatory states towards Davison, this is simply my account on what happened to me. As you can see it has been four years and still nothing has come of this. The most humiliating thing about the whole situation is how many of my co-worker saw this reality show and still to this day asked me what is going on with my product. Not only that how many people that were inspired to contact Davison with and invention idea or whom I have referred to Davison to help them with their invention ideas.

I had an idea and submitted it to Davison company and they loved it. I was told that a large company, Dick's Sporting Goods, was looking to buy my product. I've invested about 10.000 dollars in my product and all I got was my patent, but no sales. No more update just, "Would you like for us to go after another manufacturer to produce your invention? We need more money about 375.00 to have or talk to another manufacturer." Now the updates, phones calls has stop and no one is taking my calls.

I have been in unemployment for some time and while looking for a job, I found this guy offering help if you have an idea and they will make it into reality. I went to College in the Paralegal field so I used my resources, knowledge, and skills to find a good sum on this guy and I found so many red flags that it amazes me that he is still doing this scam. For those that lack the know-how I will give you my little report on this guy so you can make a choice if you still want to do business with him.

First thing you must know is that there are hundreds of bad reports on this guy. I have seen so many that tells the same story. People reported that they lost 9k-12k dollars to get their idea ready and out there. This guy isn't here to help you. You are buying his services to get your idea out there. Helping is where he will help you get everything going without making you pay so much to get it out there. The first thing you have to do before he helps you with anything is you paying him 795 dollars for him to research if there is anything out there that matches you idea. If he finds something and your idea is no good, he will do two things, one, change your idea to make it work or cancel your idea and keep your money. He does not give refunds from what I read on his contracts.

The first contract he gives you screws you over. He likes to say that he will not steal your idea and leave you hanging. That part is much true, however after you pay him 795 dollars, you are not allowed to discuss your idea to anyone else but him or he will terminate your idea and keep the money. Enough with the contracts and complaints, where is the real facts?! Well he has went in three lawsuits, two on customers like us and one with his own employees. In 2006 he has went under a class suit for 26M dollars. The reason was that the customers put out a claim he has been false advertising and lied to the customers for different matters. He lost. Then another class suit in 2008 for 10.7M dollars for the FTC about his actions on past customers and that he must make future customers more aware of their actions. Then the last suit was his employees going against him for not paying them overtime in 2013. The number of employees that went on that suit was 214 and I saw somewhere that his employee count was at 250s.

BBB (Better Business) has given this guy an F then later turned it into a D. It also shows that this guy changed his complains name several times. In fact they changed their name 10 times over the years. They are like drifting with each time they change their name. Also they have gotten 260 Complaints at the BBB. Back to the contract. The first contract like I said will screw you over but there is a little more to it. It states that the money of 795 dollars is only going to his research to see if your idea can be made. If so, how is people paying him 9k-12k? Easy, within the contract also states that you must do all the work after the research. Make the prototype, make the sales pitch, make everything! And if you cannot, then you can get more contracts that requires more money on your part. If you can do all those on your own, you have to show your work to them and they have the power to deny your work, keep your money, and remove you from their service. Oh and it is lovely that at the very bottom of the contract you have to put in your credit card info for the contract to be valid. Which is illegal.

The final one tells you that this is a scam. One is that they will send you lots of emails about other people and how happy they are. Never about what they are doing to your idea. This is a tactic that most scammers do. They bring up your hopes without showing you that you are going anywhere. Just "This is where you can be if you stick with us and give us money." Remember, only very, very few people make enough profit on their ideas. People are paying these guys 9k-12k to get their idea out there and on the market. Can you picture how long they have to wait to see profit?

I got off cheap compared to the experiences of the others on this site, I got suspicious after they got the initial fee and asked for more money. I want to form a class action suit against them. They should not be allowed to continue to do this to honest people. My next step is to contact a lawyer.

I read most of the comments and they are so relatable. From the first time I contacted Davidson about my idea from the $795 to the patent search to the unknown price for the development of the project, that could be anywhere between $10,000-$15,000 or more, depending on what comes up me not knowing better and deciding to do research on this company after I had already faxed and emailed sketches of my idea, also signing some electronic farm because I was sure I would be doing business with them. During my research, all that changed. This company has a real bad rep and what made my final decision not to go with them is when I notice that the FTC had sued them for misleading people, calling their company a scam. The FTC is a government Organization. That's who your complaints should be filed with not the BBB. I'm just glad I didn't give them any money and decided to do research. But I wish I would have done research before faxing my idea. When I informed the representative I was pulling out, he got real pissy with me and that sure helped me make up my mind.

I wanted to be sure so I checked out the BBB and they had a real bad review in their own state and didn't really even belong to the BBB. Talk about red flags! I brought this up with the Davison rep and he said that the BBB wasn't really important. So I played along for a short time. When they started asking for money, it was confusing. So much % on what they do and it kept changing. That was it! I went with another company and we will see what happens. So far so good. It can be a long process depending what your invention is. If it doesn't happen for me at least I tried.

It was for me more like an epiphany. I knew that my product would sell but had no idea of what to do with it past the thought/drawing phase. Enter Davison. Same initial fees, then 11k later a sample and submissions at $385 a pop. Knowing there was risk and belief in you have to invest in your dreams, we borrowed from our savings (now depleted) to keep this thing going.

After the 3rd "Pass" by a company I started looking back at the previous submission. I noticed they were All to companies with Zero licensing. So I wrote a concerned email. No response. After 3 weeks I called, only to find out that my rep had retired, but no one let me know!? I then left messages and the receptionist ensured me of a call back within 72 hours... It's been 192 hours so far and I guess another call is due from my end. The heart breaker was when I received a prompt from the company that my invention was designed for, they as a special offer, were selling a very close, VERY CLOSE version of my product.

My wife and I literally were in tears. That's when I found this site. Way too late I'm afraid, unless something happens to help those that have been abused to recoup their losses. Most of which took them a long time to earn. I offer my sympathy to those whose lives are harmed by these people, and I give fair warning to those wise enough to check them out deeper than I did. At first, I was sending them $150 a month, in hopes it would get things going, and we would have our periodic calls to establish payment and to discuss the progress of my project/idea. Please read and contemplate thoroughly before engaging with this company. I had seen some complaints on them; however, given the business type and the volume they claim to work with I didn't feel it was excessive. I always research before I engage in business ventures or purchase anything of value. I will often try things that had a poor review if I feel they are not excessive. More often than not it works out fine. This did not work out fine. And in reading through it after the fact there are so many glaring red flags I didn't notice because they spread out over a few months and I was busy. So here are the facts of my involvement with them. Take it for what it’s worth but know that I am not bitter or hateful at all over this. It’s life and it will work out in the end; however, you should contemplate if you want to travel down the same path.

I approached these guys and three other groups regarding a product idea I had. In the end I went with Davison. I was initially asked for $795 for 'research' to make sure there wasn't a patent out currently on something the same or too close, etc. I was offered a $100 discount so I took the offer and submitted all my idea documents that I had prepared. I was told by my rep that it would take 3 weeks or so. In the meantime I was sent several videos to watch about others that had succeeded with their products and such. I admit I didn't watch all of them because as I expressed up front… It was not so much about my product succeeding or failing. It was about if I could help a few people and save a few lives with my product. I'm 100% sure it will work and don't really need all the hype.

After a few weeks my rep told me he'd looked over everything and it looked 'decent' and would be sending it out. I waited and didn't receive anything. In the meantime I started getting emails and VMs from another individual in the company about how I was going to miss out on a 5% discount if I didn't sign up for something within the next 5 days. I wasn't sure what that was all about because I had not received anything yet. My rep called and asked about what I thought of the 'packet' and I told him I'd not received anything yet. He sounded confused and said he'd check into it. In the end apparently it got lost in the shipping department or something and he was having it sent right away.

So I finally get my 'packet' and all it contained was a contract to sign, some DVDs about the process and such and that was it. So I asked about that and was told oh y’know the VP or somebody (honestly I don't recall the title) approved of me to see more information and that was sent to me in an email. So ok... why would I start getting pushed to pay for something else when I had not even received the first thing I paid for? Why did I receive just another contract and some DVDs and not the 'research' information? Why did I have to ask for that? Regardless... So I was getting pushed for money and a signature, money and a signature, money and a signature.

I told them I wanted to look through the material and think about it. I did some research on the company they wanted to target, which by the way was a far cry from whom I had provided to them as to who I thought would really go for this product, and I wasn't impressed. A few other things were not sitting well with me either. I missed a few calls from the rep due to some meetings. I finally had to send an email and expressed my concerns. So the rep set up a call with 'his boss', him and myself where she provided more information about the target company. I had to leave for a business trip and told the rep I was leaving town and wouldn't be available until the following week. While I was away I was researching this target company in my spare time. They turned out to be better than I initially thought they were so I decided it would be ok to move forward.

I get back from my trip to find an email from the rep about how he guesses I was terminating our relationship because I had not answered the phone for a few days. I didn't get in until 3AM. I was exhausted but I got up and emailed as early as I could to let remind him I'd be gone and let him know my decision. He called later that day and let him know I was good with the research I had done and would be moving forward but I didn't have time that day to take care of it. It wasn't until 3/19/2014 when I had a few minutes to breathe and move forward. My CC was charged an hour or so after we last spoke. I received a reminder on 3/21/2014 that they needed my signed contracts to get started and I was put on some 'fast track'. I signed the one but the other was no longer pertinent as it pertained to discounts I would have received if I had signed and sent money earlier.

I got distracted and busy with something else and didn't get the main contract in until 3/23/2014. I was contacted the next day and they needed that one un-applicable contract as well before they could get started. Ok whatever… I signed and sent that over to them on 3/24/2014. Silence... not a peep one out of them after that. No 'hey these are the next steps', 'hey let’s set up some calls'... nothing. So on Friday I called to get a status update. I got an automated thing saying 'all circuits are busy'. I was busy and it was late so I waited until Monday (yesterday) to call again. Got the same message thing so I sent an email. The rep called first thing this morning but I was in a meeting so I called him back as soon as I was out of my first meeting. Got the same automated message. I should not have to be asking these guys for an update. I have 3 other projects started at the same time and I'm getting updated, have been in meetings with them, etc. since commitment.

I sent in my cancellation. I was on my way into some more meetings and started getting calls from the rep. I quick sent an email letting him know that he needed to go ahead and process my cancellation and that I would be free at 2PM his time to discuss. Didn't get a phone call until about an hour and a half after that where I was told my stuff was in production and it was coming right along quickly. I told him that was unfortunate because the decision was already made to pull the plug on the project and that there should have been better communication. He said there would be no refund so I need to stick with it for a few months because it takes time and he calls all his clients every two weeks. I pointed out I was within my 7 day cancellation per the contract and was met with a big ole' sorry it doesn't matter because the product is already in production. He wished me well. I did the same for him. Now the CC company, the BBB, an attorney and the FTC is involved all because the cancellation clause in the contract was blown off by Davison. Time consuming for several people and a big mar for them. Whatever.

I do not blame the rep. I know he was just following his scripts and saying what he has been trained to say and send what he was trained to send. He just needs to really re-evaluate his job. I do business on a daily basis much bigger than Davison and have never run into a company that does business quite this way nor have any of the bigger companies ever tried to step around a contract. If they do that to the people they sell to I can't image what it's like to work there and I feel sorry for the rep. Bottom line… these guys really are lacking in basic communication skills that would have staved off a poor ending to what started out as a very exciting opportunity.

My name is Valerie ** and I'm writing to you in hopes that you can help me. I have been through a total nightmare with a company called Davison. It all started almost 2 years ago, they contacted me because they liked my idea I put on an online questionnaire. They buttered me up real good right from the jump. I have all the documents and contracts and "portfolios" but for the initial purpose of this letter I will keep it short and simple. They first charged me $695.00 for Pre-Development and some other bologna. After that was completed and after my husband and I took a road trip out to Pittsburgh (from NJ) to make sure this was an actual company and not someone running a scam from their basement they hit me with another "Development" charge of $9,840 and 10% royalties assigned to Davison.

I currently have the patent pending to my product and I plan on renewing it again in March. This company is ridiculous. First off, I was shuffled around dealing with numerous people: one EXTREMELY rude (Frank) and one that got fired (Charles) although he was actually very nice, go figure. They constantly told me one thing on the phone and another in writing. I'm at the point now where I insist on speaking through email so I have copies of all the bs they feed me, but Wilma ** said "they do not communicate via e mail". They must be afraid of the paper trail. So after all that money I sent them I was told by a man named Charles ** there would be NO FURTHER charges!

After looking this company up on rip off and scam websites I learned of numerous other people that have the SAME story as me! Same names and same lines of bologna they were fed! (Wish I found this beforehand.) But unfortunately that too was a lie. After presenting to their "Targeted Company" and them not being interested in it they insist I pay them another $385 to repackage the idea! They claim they change the packaging to match the targeted company during presentation so they can "envision" the product being theirs. Not to mention when I requested my product sample there was no company name on the crappy box they sent me, which looked like it took $5.00 to make! Actually receiving my product sample infuriated me! It took over a month to get, which makes me think they never actually had one to begin with. They may have made it when I requested it!

Let's not forget that I've given Davison almost $11,000 when all fees are added up. The product sample looks like something you would buy from a Dollar Store! When I complained they told me it's just the "idea" they're presenting and when a company shows interest they'll fund changes to the product. I thought my $11,000 would fund something a little better than the hunk of junk they're presenting. No wonder the 2 companies they presented to didn't bite. I wouldn't buy their presentation either. Here's another problem I have, if they have to "envision" the idea of my product with whatever changes they want to make why can't they "envision" their name on the box?! It makes no sense for me to pay $385.00 to re-package and to re-package again when the targeted company thinks the product looks like a POS.

My sample also didn't "solve a problem" like it was supposed to. The problem was taking down and putting up holiday decorations repeatedly. My sample was supposed to include a lantern of some sort that would stay up as landscape lighting in between holidays. They sent me a pumpkin and a snowman! They breached contract more than once. Davison told me "I hired them" that "I was in charge", imagine that! If it were only true things would be going much smoother. I have specifics for my lighting idea. I had a name they ignored because the interested company would name it. I wanted energy saving bulbs, which were nowhere to be found on the $385.00 box I paid for. I wanted a QUALITY product, which I was assured via phone that I would get for my $11,000 investment; in fact, that was why it costed so much.

My husband is an electrician and has been for almost 20 years. He told me exactly what would work best for my idea, they ignored it all. Actually when they sent me the product sample paper I had to sign I signed it with a note saying how Charles ** told me the final product would look much better and they told me they could not move forward until I signed without the note attached. This was after they already had all my hard earned money. I have 2 kids and another on the way, funds are VERY limited for my family. I busted my butt to give them all that money, just to get ripped off. I have no more to give and they are at a standstill unless I pay MORE money to re-package. I have discussed my idea with other invention production companies but they also want almost as much money, and I just can't afford it! I want to be seen on air to tell my story so hundreds of other people don't get scammed by them!!

I'm telling you they are professional con-artists! If I could just save ONE family the financial hardship they have caused me I would be SOOOO happy! I really believe in Karma and I hope they get caught. I can not afford an Attorney to go out of state to sue for numerous breaches of contract either, my options are pretty limited, not to mention my dreams shattered! According to Davison, I will owe them no royalties if I secure a deal with another company as long as it is not the 2 companies they presented my idea to. I just got my release from them in writing (which I had to fight for despite it being in my contract!) I have a product sample, which isn't up to my standards but still gets part of the idea across. I have a "patent pending" (which after discussing my idea with another company they told me it really isn't "patent pending" that was more of Davison's word-play game) already and my portfolio of all the schematics of the product.

Anything you guys could do to help would be MUCH appreciated. My family is depending on this. This cost really hurt us and I refuse to give Davison another dollar. Their customer service is unacceptable and I hope they go down in flames. I'm looking for a company that will listen to my ideas and actually make them happen, not say they will make it happen then you have to "envision" the product. I could have envisioned it for free! I have made numerous attempts to speak to Mr. Davison himself, with no luck. I guess he's just too busy scamming more clients. They claim they take my product idea to trade shows, yet when I asked them if they could tell me where they have brought my idea they said they don't have that information! It's amazing how "the boss" which was supposed to be myself has been left in the dark.

I have recorded conversations between them and myself where they say one thing on the phone then they put another in writing. I have filed complaints with scam sites and the BBB is currently investigating the matter. I won't stop until I bring light to the situation!!! In times like these to take advantage of people, especially those supporting a family on a very limited income is disgusting! I REALLY thought this was a reputable company. I did soooo much research on them beforehand. They were even on the news claiming how they help the economy by producing American made products, detouring customers from imports and boosting our economy. I contacted 7 on your side to inform them about the ad and how that company treats its clients but I never heard back from them! I had to do some serious convincing to get my husband to support this idea as well.

As you can imagine I have not stopped hearing about this mistake and huge financial loss we had taken by pursuing this idea. The only thing that my husband said was that it was a great idea and he really believed in me and would back me up 100%. He was supportive yet reluctant on the validity of Davison. This is why we spent even more money taking a trip to "Inventionland" located in Pittsburgh to see for ourselves. We really made sure we dotted our i's and crossed our t's. I feel like I let my entire family down! Thanks so much for your time in reading this plea. I just don't know what else to do besides reach out to anyone and everyone that could possibly help me and my family. I am renewing my "patent pending" or whatever it actually is, which is up in March 2012 in hopes someone bites on my invention during the next year. Also, to protect myself from Davison taking my idea which they have every detail of and making a profit on their own, they already made enough off of me.

I guess I will have to talk to the patent office directly without Davison's manipulation involved. Please contact me to discuss the details of my idea, I'm sure you will love it. It is economical, it solves a problem, everyone uses these, and it will save customers money in the long run if actually made according to my specifications. ANYONE I have confided in has thought it was a GREAT idea! Perhaps I fell through the cracks with Davison, but they have had numerous chances to make it right, they just don't seem to care. I'm praying to God I can find SOMEONE that cares! SOMEONE that has the power and following to shed some light on those scammers!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to me vent. Take care guys and keep doing what you do best, helping people!

Also I have no proof photos because they are good at what they do and they do not put their BS in emails or contracts. I do however have RECORDED conversations where they are caught in MANY MANY lies!!! They are professional scammers, just google it!!! Or click any of these links: **. Just google "invention scams" the first "suggested related search" is DAVISON! Need I say more?!?! ****They are even trying to scam Scambook themselves! They told them they are BBB credited. Look them up, they have an F! AND that they have attempted to settle this with us, which they HAVE NOT!!!!! BEWARE. They are really good at telling you what you want to hear vs. what they are actually going to do for you! Someone that worked for Davison told me the directors actually have the audacity to tweak your invention ideas and patent them their selves!!!!!!!!!!! The nerve!

Anyway PLEASE CALL ME BEFORE you write them a check, you'll be glad you did!!!! I have now successfully deterred 4 people from investing in Davison and if it's the only satisfaction I can get from these people I shall continue to do so!!! One more thing I'd like to mention if anyone is suing Davison and would like a petition from us, PLEASE contact us! We would even be willing to come to court!!!! My argument with this company is that if you are going to have me spend to develop, manufacture and license I may as well try and do the work myself. I submitted an idea, it may someday put an end to identity theft. I paid $795 over the course of a half year, starving the last several days a month doing so. Then last week, Gregg called and said they have a buyer. When he called on a scheduled call, I thought he was gonna tell me how much money I would get, instead he said I have to pay more. I live on disability and that means $780 - $5,850 = ha ha ha!

I approached Davison a last year with an invention. Davison promised to create a product from my invention which they would sell. Months went on and Davison came up with a rendering of a product that would work. My idea was an optical alarm. The rendering was a photo of a Play Station movement reader. No work or input came from Davison to produce this.

Davison then went on to "apparently" approach a company called All Star, with my invention to see if they would be interested. Davison continuously pushed for more funding from me for a video presentation at a cost of over $2000 which is ludicrous. Davison eventually came back to me stating that the company was not interested and they would approach another company if I paid further funds.

This is when I realized Davison are only there to suck money from you with no return on your investment. I would suggest that no one ever deals with Davison as you will be sorry. I handed over in total $10 000 to Davison and received absolutely nothing in return. It is important to note that the true cost to me was an exchange rate issue as well of R11.00 to 1 USD. Davison are extremely wise in their approach to paper work and always seem to cover themselves legally for their fraudulent ways.

As of right now I am satisfied, but I also have not given them any money, lost any money. Now I am kind of worried that they will steal my idea and how I should go about this. Should I continue with them or are they out to screw me.

I went through the proper channels to have my idea made into a reality. The first phone calls were promising, made with enthusiasm and telling me what I wanted to hear. Then came the development part of the project. Immediately my idea was changed by the designers (because they are the experts, they told me), so my idea only resembled my original idea.

Then came the pricing. $10,000 to produce the prototype. After "negotiating" the price went down to $6,500 hundred. Then came the prototype. Only the item created was a plastic, weak and hollow product that didn't have all of the features and didn't work the way it was designed. Still, I was promised over and over again that the "final" item would be OK. Then came the marketing. I was told vigorous marketing techniques would be used to sell my item. Of course nothing is guaranteed, I was told, but they would do their best.

Then after the 4th "non-interest" in my item, each time I had send additional money to redo the logo and marketing page I decided they weren't doing "all" the could. Finally, a person not related to me, took it upon themselves to call one of the companies, selected as a marketing possibility. With much cooperation that company provided written documentation that they only received a fax copy of the merchandise picture! No follow up calls and certainly no "vigorous" marketing techniques were used.

Subsequent checks of all the companies contacted by Davison basically acknowledged the same facts. A simple picture fax was received with no actual marketing pitch was made. Bottom line $8000 dollars spent. A prototype that was changed and made different from the original design. A non-existent marketing process that only allowed them to collect additional funds from me. After these facts came to light, the phone calls stopped. The enthusiastic demeanor once showed was replaced by silence. They had gotten their money and knew no more was coming.

After months of battling with them, I finally received my prototype. Non working and nothing like the original idea I had envisioned. The company is a complete rip off. I will continue to advocate to everyone I come in contact with about how badly I was treated and how secretive, sneaky and deliberate the company can be in getting their upfront fees. Truly a bad experience.

I have been through it, not like those who lost thousands. But still enough to want to warn other unsuspecting people of hope. There are different names by which they go by so beware of many of them. Check out the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission first. I am surprised that other legitimate invention companies don't go after them for losing business due to possibly being mistaken for them as one of their many different names. There should be a law against having too many business names if you have been sued successfully or have the amount of complaints stacked up as they do. If you have one legitimate name and company doing legitimate business and 5 or 10 ripping people off, it has to make people wonder about the 1 guy who is legitimate. That has to have cost any legitimate invention companies money, when the inventor takes it upon themselves to try and do it all themselves not hiring a legitimate company because of trust issues caused by proven illegitimate business practices.

I just don't get it. I don't know how this country can allow them to be free to hurt people and even the possibility of innocent people hurting them and going to prison for temporary insanity. I don't know how they have not had any retaliatory violence committed against them. That blows me away. People have killed for dollars. They are walking on thin ice in the middle of hell as far as I can see it. I just pray that the innocent people who have been wronged let GOD deal with them. Don't get yourselves locked up because of the theft they commit. It won't be worth it when you snap out of it and realize you're in a prison cell. Instead pray for them and keep doing what you're doing with your new ideas and reach out for help.

There are websites like GoFundMe where you can tell your stories and people can donate to your cause. This will hopefully help you to get some of your money back in the meantime. Then later when the court cases are dealt with they will pay just like they did before. Good luck to all of you, even to you so called people who work at Davison or the many different offspring of it. I pray for you that none of you will ever see a drop of blood spilled before you pay all back you owe and then some and after. You all belong in prison for disruption of commerce and trust.

The name of my invention submitted to Davison Design was the **. I was so sure after reading all of your complaints and letters of being ripped off that I posted the whole idea on my Facebook page. Then I found out that the idea is actually already patented by someone who came up with the idea back in 1998. I will provide any necessary information to anyone needing assistance in their lawsuit. Attorneys who wish to contact me for any needed evidence is welcome, but I don't have any that suggests they stole anything from me as I got my $100.00 down payment back 2 days after I requested it based on the 3 day written requirement in their contract. I do have emails that I will forward if needed for any evidence related needs to assist in prosecuting the cases of previously wronged victims of these people. I have done some research on YouTube and there is a guy who claims Davison Designs is also "New Show Studios". Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks.

The supposed invention help company Davison had a pop-up on the internet that I responded to when I was looking for a way to get an idea/invention prototyped and patented. I contacted Davison, before I knew what I know now, and told them what I was wanting to do. They of course said great send us your idea and we will send you some paperwork via email to sign. I sent the idea before I got the paperwork. After I received the paperwork and saw how unprofessional it appeared, I immediately had my apprehensions about sending my idea to them.

When I started asking Melissa **, Director of new products, questions about Davison and how long the process would take and costs, she said she would send me emails of videos that would answer my questions. I got emails of things that either would not download or was the same thing over and over, which was a marketing infomercial of, what I now believe to be, the idea of what Davison wants you to believe they are. I fortunately did not give them any money and pulled out before I signed anything. If I wanted to give my idea away and waste money, then I would have just emailed the idea to YouTube and spent money on a complete stranger.

Now that Davison Co. has their hands on my drawings for my idea, then maybe I should put my idea on the internet so they won't be able to steal my idea and profit from it after scamming me. The government should shut them down or not protect them from a whole lot of "country justice", which where I come from is overseen by 2 good judges "Smith & Wesson".

As a former Davison salesperson, I truly feel it is my duty to tell people just how heartless this company is and feels about the general consumer out there. It amazes me to see their web site and all the smiling and palm pressing & the 'wonderful' stories on the site about how great they are, all the companies they work with, all the happy customers, blah, blah, blah. The only thing is, I was on the inside for a long time and saw as well as heard first hand what really matters. We didn't make any money from royalties. What we made money from (and a lot of it) was you, the everyday person out there who believed enough in your idea to send it to us. Oh sure we sounded regal on the phone with a fancy BS title and a slick sounding recorded voice mail, "Mr so and so the Director of New Products can't come to the phone", and to be honest with you folks we didn't even know who the woman was on our own voice mails.

That was something you better learn quick at Davison...do not ask a lot of questions. The money & commission check was the key. We turned a blind eye on a LOT of shady/potentially illegal things going on there for one reason. Cash. At that point in my life that was the only thing that was important to me & we got it in spades. We would tell people that we were "thoroughly" searching for manufacturers or that your product was made for the "specific manufacturing dimensions of the corporation we are presenting it to", all lies lies lies. We didn't care less if your grandmother broke her neck chasing kids out from a burning car, if your payment wasn't in our office when you said it would be we would make your life miserable. Not returning calls after 5 voicemails from the paying customer or leaving a humiliating message for the inventor with one of their family members, whatever the case may be...it was a great scam, I mean the best writers in Hollywood couldn't have written better scripts than we used.

Yes, we had to follow a mandatory script. If you had a rebuttal, we had a page to turn to to answer it, and they were all good. They were written by Frank ** and Anthony Valkanas, who also train the sales people. Valkanas used to sell Volvos for a living, so of COURSE he was qualified to be a Vice President of New Products (insert sarcasm here). Anyway people, we never met any of the design people, we were not allowed to call them interoffice, we as "Directors" never had one bit of input on your product and it was never "presented" to them, it was mass mailed just like the Pennysaver classifieds you get with your junk mail. So people take heed - you will get taken for $685 + they WILL tell you they have to develop it for $8,000-$15,000. You will get ripped off and will be made a fool of.

I had an idea of a product and seen a company Davison while on the computer. It had shown other people's ideas that were turned into money making products. So I enquired about what needed to be done by calling Davison. They sent me out a packet to fill out and return explaining in detail my idea, so I did. After a week or so, I received a phone call from a women from Davison saying how interesting my idea was and how they would love to work with me but first off they needed to run a search that no other product like mine existed and if not they would go ahead and get a patent for me at a cost of 795.00. So I put it on my father-in-law's credit card. So a couple days later, they said everything checked out fine and we can continue to move forward and gave me a timeframe of 2 weeks to have a payment of one thousand dollars to get the ball rolling, as she put it. So again, family wrote me the check, all that I was paying back in weekly installments.

They tell me not to mail it; instead, they would send a messaging company truck to pick it up, so I did. Within a couple days, they tell me that their company's big show was coming up. This is where they would present all new inventors' ideas to different companies that they deal with but to have a person's idea displayed, it would be another thousand dollars, so of course I did it to be seen. A week later, they told me over the phone that a company was very interested in my idea that the president of that company had written a letter to express his interest in my product and that all the years this woman had worked for Davison, she never seen a letter from the president of this company write anyone. So she sent me the letter of interest from Colgate Palmolive saying how Davidson could be of great help with developing and making a prototype of my idea that would be cost effective for Colgate.

Now for this to be done they sent a form saying if I wanted the full money from Colgate, it would cost a little over 10 thousand dollars. If I gave Davison 10 percent of money, 8,700 dollars, 20 percent, 6,500 dollars, so I went with that deal, sent another 1,500 dollars and never got in touch with me for a month easy. When I got in touch with them, the woman I have dealt with from the beginning no longer was employed there, I was told, so I had to deal with a guy there that never answered my calls or returned my messages and the one time I did get him on the phone, he would just tell me time is running out, send in the remaining balance immediately or it's going to be too late. What a ride I got took on from these lowlife scum.

I was convinced by one of the "Directors" (seems that their are many, many Directors) of New Products to pay $6,000 + for them to hook me up with a company who would buy and/or market my already patented product. I checked out the website, watched the impressive piece that was aired on CNN, and decided that since I was running into walls trying to find the right person inside the right company, I would go with Davison who supposedly knew all of the key people everywhere. But, as the story goes, once they got my money it was a complete nightmare just trying to get my "Director" to call me back. Before she got my money, she assured me that we would be on our way within 2-3 months (that is how good and promising my product was!!).

After Davison got my money, and more than 7 months later, the "Director" told me, it's just too bad, they were really busy and we were just going to have to wait. I actually talked to the VP of the company, got into a screaming match with him and finally, by the end of the conversation, was calmed down and told to call him in two days if I had not heard back from him. I never heard back from him and he never returned my calls. Fast forward to another 5 months later and someone in the licensing department called me to tell me that the company they had in mind, did not want my product and if I wanted them to pitch it to another company I had to pony up more money. That is when I said absolutely not and started looking at all of these websites (which turned my stomach and made me angry with myself for not checking them out on the internet BEFORE I gave them my money).

Come to find out that my $6,000 loss pales in comparison to so many others that have lost twice and three times as much. But, all that has done is make me raving mad.... so, what do we do? Go to DAVISON DESIGN COMPLAINTS on Facebook to leave your email address and contact information so we can file a CLASS ACTION SUIT against Davison. They were successfully sued in 2005 for 10 MILLION DOLLARS....they should never have been allowed to resume operations. I have an attorney who is SO ready to take this case, we just need people to sign up. DO IT NOW!!! We can make them pay for their sins and then hopefully close them down for good.

If there is a class action lawsuit please inform me. I'm in poverty. My entire life savings gone. I've been disabled for the last year. I explained in email and personal communication at the time that I was under such medications, reading their document to be signed. Would have to wait till I was of sound mind. I thought it wasn't right how pushy Jill (Davison rep) was. But she assured me it was simply so we can get a lock on my idea. What was promised did not match what I got. I pretty much paid to have what I already did, done again. After many talks assuring me this wouldn't happen. Then it did. If there is a lawsuit against them, I want in.

They failed to produce a working model according to my original specs, and theirs was unworkable. Hit my Visa card for $8,000.00 additional dollars without my approval, then conned me to accept it. Conned me into agreeing to sign off on project that I agreed to their rendition of model without seeing. Told me that they had a manufacture waiting in the wings and no time to hassle over inspection. It took me over two years of no communications from them and I finally had to shut the project down in order to see just what they were supposedly peddling to the manufacturing companies. That's when I was finally able to see the terrible job their so-called engineers had come up with supposedly according to my initial design. It was total garbage.

Meanwhile, like a fool I had submitted another idea called "Help Me," paid in my $685.00 to get it started. They sent me a beautiful manual that had nothing in it pertaining to my help me project. What was in the manual was downloaded junk from the internet just to fill the book up. I complained to the VP of Davison a man name of Frank **. He did an investigation and could not find any file of that name but was able to find my Golf Putting Aid file name of ** PUTTMASTER. Mr. ** quickly came to the conclusion that there was indeed a problem and it would appear that I had been scammed and they had been caught in a fraudulent situation.

I told Frank that I did not want to scream foul play. Let's talk about all the (mistakes) that Davison had been guilty of concerning my Putt Master project and perhaps we could salvage the situation. Frank agreed to give me three additional visits to Golf product manufacture in lieu of the already paid in moneys $685.00 for the help me project. He also agreed to work with me to ensure that nothing would go wrong as he would oversee the golf putting aid and make sure it went smoothly. I built my own invention device (handcrafted) along with putting alignment boards as prepared by a professional company, cost factor over $400.00 and mailed it off to Davison.. Approximately two weeks later I inquired as to what they thought of my material. They indicated that they had not received anything from me. Note: the box never came back to me thru return mail nor would Davison acknowledge they had ever received it.

I contacted the professional sign company and had new putting boards made up, also included a new 7 foot putting mat, two professional golf putters, a complete manual of procedures/instructions and professional 10x10 inch pictures along with my invention device. I mailed it out by certified mail directly to Mr. Frank **. He notified me when he had received it and told me that he had turned it over to a Mr. Matt ** for processing but he wanted me to develop a DVD showing the operation of my invention device. He told me that he would hold onto (box #1) for safekeeping until I completed the DVD and get it to him.. As soon as I had completed the DVD, I mailed it to Frank and we talked on the phone when he received it. He told me that he would be sending the material on to Autumn ** in the Licensing dept. for processing. Several weeks later I called Autumn ** because I had not heard from her and the normal process that Davison follows is that they should have sent me a form to sign off allowing them to send my material on to a manufacture.

As soon as I got in touch with Autumn, asking her just what was going on with my Putt Master project, she quickly came back to me saying that my material had just come back from a manufacture as was rejected because it did not fit their guidelines to be qualified for review as the product was not professional. This really blew my mind and I knew there was something bad wrong once again. I told Autumn to send my stuff back to me, which she did. What she sent back was (box #2) that had the DVD in it along with my mini mat for show and tell. Seems the VP forgot to send the (box #1) with the professional 7 foot mat and golf putters with the professional special putting boards that I had designed and had professionally prepared.

I contacted a lady name of Lynne ** that had worked with me before and shared with her my problem concerning the fact that my material was missing. She did some digging into several offices there at Davison and found the original (box # 1) that had my professional putting boards but was missing the seven foot mat, both putters as well as all the other material including golf balls, manual with pictures and procedures. The box had been pretty well gutted. Bear in mind, time is still marching on by and approximately 7 years has passed by. Lynne sent me an email several days later telling me that she had found one of the golf putters and was going to get a camera to take a picture of it so I could identify it. That was the last time that I heard from her.

My emails to her fell on deaf ears, until finally a lady name of Barbra ** came back to me wanting to know just what was my problem and how could she help me. She said that she knew nothing about the missing material and that Lynne ** was no longer working for Davison (I now believe that she was fired because she was attempting to help me with my problem). I pretty well had the whole picture of shame and woe is me from all the Davison screw ups and mismanagement along with apparent stupid mistakes by Davison employees that just did not have any idea of what their job was all about. Boy was I really wrong and will tell you more later.

I then decided that the only way I was going to get my invention to move again was to discuss everything once again with Frank ** the VP of Davison. I crawled on my belly and shared with him that enough mistakes have been made and we needed to work together in order to make the project a success. Frank once again agreed to work with me and I once again almost eight years in the making, put together the total package with everything intact, but this time I would not send in another 7 foot putting mat and would not be sending in anymore putters. Just my invention device, professionally made putting boards, another manual with professional pictures and now once again the DVD. It was all together and complete.

I sent the box of material on in to Frank once again certified mail. Time and date is now December of 2012 remembering that I started my venture with Davison back in 2005 right at seven years ago. Autumn had sent me forms to sign allowing Davison to send my material on to a company name of PRO-ACTIVE SPORTS. The forms that Autumn sent me to sign off on giving permission, also include pictures of my supposed inventions that was identical to the information they had shared with me (partially) back in 2005 when we first started this ball game.

I then contacted Autumn and shared with her that something was wrong and I needed for her to share with me just what it was that they were going to be sending on to the Pro-Active Sports people. Autumn hemmed and hawed but would not budge from her position that she had my material that I had just sent to her and that was what she was going to send if I ever got around to signing the form so she could do it. She later shared with me that she was not going to send the actual material, but instead would be sending a virtual imagining of the material. I asked her just what was that and why could she not send that same thought to me for my review. She came back and said that she had already done that and would not answer my question. I then asked Autumn just what kind of paper trail did Davison have to ensure that the client material actually got to a manufacture for reviewing. She talked her way out that as well and would not give me an answer.

I was really suspicious at this point in time, as I should have been a long time ago. I went through a seven month period of time calling in every month to see what the manufacture had to say about the review of my material. After seven months, the answer from Autumn was that the manufacture simply said "NO," that they had decided not to consider my idea (invention) then we go to a repackaging program for an additional $385.00 so as to prepare the material for another manufacture to contact for the reviewing process. I finally made up my mind to check out these people as I felt that I had been royally shafted from stem to stern.

I sent an email to the Pro-Active Sports people asking them just to give me a simple yes or no answer to a quick question. My question was, had they received anything from the Davison Design & Development people to review anything from Ron ** to review. The inspector of new products called me and shared with me that the answer was a very definite "NO," they had not received any material or requests from Davison on my behalf to review and if they had have, he would more than likely tossed it in the trash because they want nothing to do with the Davison company because they are a bad company. I have all of this on an email for verification.

I had been told by Autumn in December of 2012 to call her on the 15th of January to see if the Pro-Active people had any information on my project. I called her on the 15th as requested and she told me that the company was still in the reviewing stages and not to sweat it, but to look on the bright side. Meaning that this company is still in the reviewing process and have not rejected it.. Autumn asked me to call her back on the 15th of the next month of February for check in for Pro-Active Sports reviewing comments if any.. That's when I decided to contact the company and got my information that they had not been contacted and wanted nothing to do with Davison.

This pretty much sums up the fact that Davison did not have any kind of agreement with this company at all. But once again, my thinking that there might well be another screw up, and possibly another mistake other than a fraudulent situation, I called Autumn and verified the name of the company and their address and phone number just in case perhaps I called someone other than the correct company. Autumn verified everything and then I shared with her what the Pro-Active people told me. Two days later, Autumn called me and told me that Mr. ** (who is not the President of Davison), said to terminate my contract that cost me $10,000.00 and pushing eight years of my life they filled with pain, frustration and suffering, saying that I had BREACHED THE CONTRACT. Now, how's them apples?

Since then, I have contacted each of the manufacturer that Davison had shared with me that they had sent my material to for reviewing process (I believe three) in eight years. I did not give my name, but only asked them what was the qualifications they required in order to review an inventor's idea material. Each of them told me the same thing as did the Pro-Active Sports people. They indicated that the idea invention had to have a qualified patent on it before they would subject it to a reviewing process. Please note, my invention never got to that stage of development, it did not have a patent and Davison was fully aware of that fact.

I believe that Davison entire program is a total scam and that along with conning clients out of their initial moneys up to and averaging approximately $10,000.00 each, they then scam the clients for the repackaging (phony) process at approximately $400.00 dollars a whack. Along with wanting to shut these people down, my question to FTC is will they be willing to share with me the total number of client complaints against Davison over the past five years as I put my case together making ready for a lawsuit. If any reader of my complaint wants to get in touch with me and is willing to share their individual story so I can share it with a lawyer to help me win my case, please be so kind as to email me at ** or call me at **. Thank you for your time and I appreciate your willingness to support my cause against these crooks.

Ever had a salesperson pitch you, then you Google his/her name, and no info comes up? I mean nothing. Well, that happened this week with Davison's Senior Director of New Products - mystery man. No Bio, no Facebook, no LinkedIn, nada.... Well, this guy was one of the slickest salesman I've ever had on the line - better than any boiler room broker I'd ever encountered. It's obvious, after 2 long calls, their only concern is getting the $700 advance fee, then they rope you into the $5-$16K full services menu. Yeah, the same promise they pulled on over 50,000 people to date.

What confirmed my initial fears with these people? I caught my pitchman lying - he told me that it's illegal for Davison to accept more than 20% royalty fees, after I offered 75/25 deal if they'd waive the costs after the initial $700. Why? I wanted our interests aligned. After all, I already made the working model of the exact process and had 2 law firms do a patent search. Not much else to do besides pitch to very specific target companies. I spoke to a Sr Examiner at USPTO and they informed me that there is NO legal restriction for royalty fee sharing %. An inventor may own the patent, and share 1/3 of her royalty fees with a promotion company.

Sorry Davison, but maybe the next applicant won't call the FTC or USPTO and they'll simply go ahead and blindly send in their check. Reminds me of advance fee mortgage fraud - no intent to get a patent licensed, they make plenty of money on application fees.

Then they said we had to pay an additional $300.00 each time they had to repackage and do the paperwork every time they were going to present it to another company. We would anxiously wait at least 3 months for a response to know whether or not the company would take our project. Disappointed each time and dishing out another $300.00 each time. Finally we asked for the pro type they allegedly were repackaging. What a surprise when they couldn't find it! Many months later, they sent us a prototype that looked like a broken child's toy. We asked for paper work from the companies that they supposedly showed the project too! They said there wasn't any. We had to trust them! $17,000 later we smartened up and stopped sending them money. Davison promises to help you make your idea come true. But once you send them your money they request more money; Oh so much more money without moving forward with your idea and or project. I have been told that I can choose the companies I would like to market my idea to and I have built, produced and marketed items for other companies I have worked for in the past; but I am retired and it is my turn to work on my own idea finally. So with hope and $715 down to start, signed contract if people read; Davison can work a further contract with you to design and build your sample and presentational material for a targeted Licensee (read in contract copy). If they think your idea is a good one they will pay, not ask you to.

I knew which companies I wanted and when it came time for me to talk to the licensing and developing team to further my schematics on my idea with the companies I chose, Matthew ** (Head of New Products) kept changing subject... When I ask for a portfolio I was sent a dime made DVD. The company has made thousands for 25 cents apiece and another with 12 patterns that had nothing to do with my idea; no cost no companies to market to, no cost analysis; irrelevant cheap material; costing Davison maybe with postage a total of $5.00 and a great waste of my time, energy, calls, emails, research on my own idea and the companies I had chosen to work with.

When I had asked for positive affirmation or to move forward or if I would withdraw working with them, they became cruel. So I asked for a full refund; transferred to President, and Consumer Affairs. I did research on Davison and everyone needs to file a complaint with Federaltradecommission.com if you have been ripped off by this company. There are articles to read there as well. Also join on Facebook Davison Reviews. The more of us that file on the FTC; they can file another Class action against them, but only if we all announce we will not have someone take our hopes and dreams.

In all of my years of being an entrepreneur, I have never felt so disappointed, frustrated, and powerless as I have than through working with Davison Design. This is the first time that I have ever posted about a company in public forums and the first company complaint I felt compelled to submit to the BBB. I even wrote a personal letter to George Davison himself in hopes of receiving some form of response. I understand that everyone has their own unique experience when working with Davison, but mine on nearly all accounts has been overwhelmingly negative. If after reading, you still choose to work with Davison, you must know two things. First, any verbal communication or agreements are completely nullified when you sign the first contract, meaning any Davison employee may persuade or coerce you with false promises and information while not being held liable. In my complaint to the BBB, you may pay particular attention to the things I was told throughout the entire process that turned out to be untrue.

Second, just because a company has signed on to be included in Davison's list of potential target corporations does not mean that they share any professional working relationship. The target company that was chosen for my project turned out to not even return any communication whatever from Davison, let alone any decision whether to accept or reject my idea. After thousands of dollars spent and over 10 months of waiting for a reply from the target company, I did not even get the courtesy of a rejection. Below is my exhaustive account of my unfortunate working relationship with Davison. And if an employee claiming to work with Davison feels the need to respond to my post with offers to contact their customer service department, I have already attempted this multiple times and have been virtually ignored. If my issues were able to be resolved through their customer service department, I would have had no need to post them on this forum.

Letter to George Davison: "I am taking the time to write you personally in order to bring to your attention some facts you might find interesting about my experiences as a client working with representatives of your company. When I first had my idea for a new invention, I made it myself and actually used it successfully for 3 months. It was so successful, in fact, that my friends and family encouraged me to make more and try to market them. While researching this avenue, I came across Davison and was immediately impressed. After a long search of looking at other companies, I decided to put my full trust and faith in yours. I also read up on your background of how you got started in the inventing business, along with all the hardships and challenges you had to face.

If I remember correctly, I believe that is one of the main reasons why you decided to start your own company - to help people bring their ideas to market while avoiding much of the negative experiences you had when starting out. That is why I find it unfortunate to relay to you that I have been exposed to many of those same negative experiences and emotions while progressing through the design/presentation process with your company. I know you care about your company and have spent many years refining the design process, but for me as a current client, I feel that my trust in choosing your company to work with has been misplaced and I am now filled with doubt and disappointment.

My idea spent about 6 months going through the design process and has now been in the hands of the target company for over 8 months. They have not yet offered a response to the acceptance/rejection of my idea. So you see, I am not disappointed over the result of my idea, rather the design process itself, the representatives I worked with, and the lack of value that I now feel as a paying customer of your company. I tried multiple times to resolve my issues with Davison's Compliance Department, but after 3 weeks of being virtually ignored, I was left with no choice but to file a formal complaint with the BBB of Pennsylvania against your company. I have included with this letter full documentation of my communication with the BBB and a representative of Davison. In the complaint, I tried to be as objective as possible, sticking to facts and not opinions, as I sincerely believe that my rights as a paying client of Davison had been violated.

This is opposed to being perceived as a disgruntled client who didn't like the way the results of my idea turned out. I do not yet have a decision from the target company, so the ending of this story is yet to be revealed. It is my hope that you take the time to review my case and my ideas history with your company, in order to help your company improve. Of course, I would like a favorable outcome to my idea, either by refund or acceptance by the target company. But at this point, I can only give an unfavorable review of my dealings with Davison because I do not feel that I have been treated fairly or considerately as a client, which will ultimately lead to future loss of business for your company. Thanks for taking the time to read this letter."

Official BBB of Pennsylvania complaint: "I am writing in concern over the status of my project and the poor quality of services rendered by Davison Design. I have been working with Davison for over a year now and have contacted multiple representatives of the company regarding my dissatisfaction with each step of the design process with little or no results. For clarification, I will break down each stage of the design process and include my comments.

Pre-Design: During the pre-design process, I was told by my director that I would be allowed to give feedback for each stage of development, in which Davison would then use to make adjustments. A client/designer communication would be established and a two-way street of feedback/implementation would continue until the client is satisfied and thus could proceed to the next step. This was a critical point in my decision to work with Davison, as I already had working prototypes of my idea and specific information to the field of which it would be applied. I was more than willing to supply this information. However, this client/designer communication turned out not to be true. After speaking to the vice president, he confirmed that the design process is a one-way street, where Davison provides what they think is best and there is no option to rework a project if the customer is dissatisfied.

I was also told that my idea would be presented to the target company in person, so that it could be explained and demonstrated. This also turned out not to be true. The only initial piece of information the target company received was a virtual rendering on a piece of paper. During the pre-design process, I was informed that the research and design costs of pursuing the development of my idea was eligible to be claimed as a deduction on my taxes. This was another big reason for choosing to go ahead with working with Davison. However, when it came tax time, there was no representative at Davison who could help me file the proper claim or confirm that the costs could be deducted. Even after my tax preparer called the IRS, he received conflicting information about this deduction.

Virtual Rendering: After receiving the virtual rendering, my reaction was one of disappointment. Of the three goals that Davison has set for itself in the virtual design process, I found only one out of the three was successfully accomplished. First, we have attempted to compile as many of the functions and features as possible of your original idea into one complete, cost-effective product that we can present to the corporation. - I believe this was successfully accomplished Secondly, we studied information about the corporation and attempted to integrate your idea into a product suitable for their line. As you will notice, your rendering illustrates packaging geared directly towards the corporation's line of products.

The overall package design was extremely generic and the compilation of images could have been taken from any internet photo site. I personally researched the target company's product lines and the presented design was nowhere near the scope of their existing product packaging. I requested multiple times for a list of how the virtual rendering was specifically geared directly towards the target corporation's product lines and was never supplied an answer. The images on the product packaging themselves were poorly photoshopped and the working product depicted on one of the images was grossly enlarged, completely misrepresenting the proper use and dimensions of the product. Lastly, we studied the name to make sure it communicates to people who have never seen a product like this before.

The name on the design was not chosen properly from someone with knowledge in the field to which it would be applied. While it may seem minor, the name is wholly inaccurate and would give anyone unfamiliar with the product an incorrect impression. These concerns were recorded on the survey that accompanied the agreement and after speaking multiple times with my director and vice president, my dissatisfaction was well known at this time. I did, however, sign the agreement to continue with the process because I was told through these conversations that 1) if I wanted a rework, it would have to go back at the front of queue just like a new project and may take additional months to complete, 2) I was told that the virtual rendering could still be changed throughout the process after the agreement was signed, and 3) I was told that the virtual rendering was just a representation of the idea and it was implied that it carried no real importance. If I had known at the time that this would be the only piece of information initially presented to the target company (and currently the only piece), there is absolutely no way I would have allowed the process to continue without a rework of the design.

Executive Summary: I felt the Executive Briefing fell way short of accurately and professionally representing my idea. The actual product sample presented in the photo appears to have rough-cut edges. It looks wrinkled, the stitching does not look uniform, and overall does not portray it in a manner that looks like it was professionally made. I supplied my own prototype to Davison for an example which appears of better quality construction than that which is represented in the summary. The product packaging design looks like it was cut and pasted directly from the virtual rendering onto this briefing. I never did see the completed product packaging as it would be shown if the target company asked for it. During the entire design process, I volunteered much of my own feedback and opinions of what I would have liked to see incorporated into the design and to help aid the design team in an area of which I was told they had little knowledge of. I didn't see much (if any) of my feedback used and the inaccurate design summary reflected this.

Also, in the New Discovery section, there was a grammatical error. While trivial of itself, the Executive Summary was supposed to be the final proof of what would be shown to the target company. This made me question Davison's quality assurance team as well as the quality of information the target company would actually receive. Again, the above concerns were noted on the opinion form sent in with the signed agreement. And again, the only reason why I signed this agreement was because it was confirmed through speaking with the vice president that a re-design would not be possible. This is quite contrary to what I was originally told during the pre-development phase and before any money was paid to Davison. I made the choice to continue with the process, even though I was very dissatisfied at this point, because the alternative was to have my project halted and my fully paid money wasted.

Presentation to Target Company: Once I was transferred to the Licensing Department, I received an email indicating as such and was informed that my current director would no longer be my contact. This was fine, except that the incorrect name of my director was used in this email communication, which was very odd. I had also tried to contact my director asking for more information about the tax deduction for a few weeks before this time and received no responses. It was only after speaking to my new Licensing Dept. contact that I was informed that the director I had been working with was no longer with the company. This was also very odd considering all the questions and concerns I had throughout the process and furthermore, this unfortunate event was never communicated to me prior to this time. I have been told that the virtual rendering was submitted to the target company and as of this writing, it has been over 7 months in their possession with no decision made. I have been told by my licensing department contact that 4-6 months is within the commonly acceptable timeframe, which I understand.

I am also fully aware that the company has the right to delegate as long as they wish without coercion from Davison to arrive at a decision. However, I have requested repeated times for the director in contact with the target company to simply ask about the status of my project on my behalf. I would like to know whether my idea is being legitimately considered among the target company or if it has even been looked at or forgotten about. I have been told that the director is in regular communication with the target company but when receiving updates from my Licensing Dept. contact, I am mostly told that the director only got a voice mail on his last call. I have requested to speak to this director as well as requested to see a list of the calls made and their results during the time in which the target company has had my project. These requests seem to have been ignored.

Customer Service: Since my extreme dissatisfaction has been escalating, I have attempted to contact Davison's Compliance Dept. via email. I have sent three such emails indicating my concerns with the status of my project. The first email response was received three days after the initial submission and indicated that someone from Davison would contact me. I did receive a call from my Licensing Dept. contact shortly thereafter, but only to tell me that the director once again was not able to talk with the target company’s contact. No response was received about my project concerns. Two weeks later I sent another email to the Compliance Dept. and after no response after three more days, I sent another email. Another week has gone by and still I have received no response addressing my concerns.

Thus, I am now compelled to write a formal complaint through the BBB. As of now, I have no idea of the status of my project other than being in the possession of the target company. And to avoid the perception of a client who received a negative decision from the target company, I have filed these complaints before a result has been given. I have also moved to requesting a refund of the money I paid to Davison for the continual poor quality of services rendered as well as the misinformation (either intentional or unintentional) that persuaded me to sign the agreements during the developmental stages of the design process."

Most recent attempt to contact Davison's customer service dept. (also no reply from Davison): "I hired Davison Design because they claimed to be a full service company for developing and marketing ideas to corporations with which they have an established rapport. My design was sent to the target corporation, JD D'Addario, 10 months ago and there has been no decisive response from them. I recently discovered that Davison has attempted to contact D'Addario only 3 times in those 10 months, only leaving voice mail messages with no indication that these messages were ever returned. When directly posing this question of communication to my licensing department contact (of which I already knew the answer through my complaint filed with the BBB) she avoided answering, as if there was something to hide.

For a company that is supposed to have a reputation of carefully selecting target corporations to market ideas to and adding them to their database, D'Addario has shown no interest in returning any communication with Davison, let alone providing any feedback or decision about my idea that has been sent to them. I understand that target companies may take time to provide a decision, but in all regards D'Addario appears to be a "deadbeat" company that has no rapport or respect for Davison whatever. Also while Davison claims to have complete knowledge of the target company's marketing and manufacturing processes, they have claimed complete ignorance as to the company's product review process, which I find disconcerting. They say each company has its own review process and they may need time to show the idea around their departments and such.

This reasoning was understood for the first 4-6 months, but at month 10, with solely a virtual rendering on a piece of paper and no indication of returned communication, this no longer holds credence. Davison has lost a lawsuit for transparency issues before, and I see a complete lack of transparency in regards to providing me, a paying client, with truthful answers or tangible results. I have also seen no evidence that Davison is actually performing the actions that they claim to be taking with my idea. I paid Davison for their service and trust in choosing a company to market my idea to, with which they claimed to have an established working and professional rapport with, and they simply have not delivered. It has been indicated that after 10 months, Davison hasn't even received any returned communication from D'Addario whatever and I have just been informed that Davison will no longer attempt to contact the company. To have a working relationship with this company is a false claim, and is certainly not what I paid a professional company for. For this, I request a full refund."

Attention investors: There are only two possible ways to get a refund from Davison Design, formerly known as Davison and associates. (1) You must file a detailed complaint with the Federal Trade Commission on ftc.gov and (2) Google search consumer advocacy lawyer. That’s it. Davison changed its name because of bad press. In 2008, the FTC filed a class action lawsuit against Davison Inventionland on behalf of inventors for false claims. The judge ruled Davison had to pay ten million out to inventors.

I was lied to by a million times by Davison Director of New Products, Brian **. I paid $8,000 and got zero results. It took almost a year to find out they were worthless. I patiently waited during their process. There is no such thing as a legitimate invention marketing company. Cut out the middle man. If you have an idea, research what manufacturer process is used to make your product. Then contact a local manufacturer with that capability. Have them sign a non-disclosure agreement. Then pay them to produce it and get a patent using a local, registered, patent attorney.

This complaint concerns an idea submitted to Davison, a company dealing with inventors. This company is a scam and will take you for everything they possibly can if you let them. There are numerous complaints, a class action lawsuit and negative reviews online if you'd care to do your own research. The following is a brief summary of my case. I was personally taken for $750.00 right up front. Even after telling the Davison salesman I was on disability and had a fixed income, they kept calling and saying everything was "on track" or people were actually working on my idea.

Although I honestly thought I had an original idea, my own research turned up the fact that it may already be in the process of development. Davison also stated money was not an issue because they could always settle for a portion of the profits. The end result was being sent a bill for $6,000.00 saying if I wanted to go any further, I would have to pay it. I spoke to the president of the company who then referred me to a manager. The manager told me people should max out their credit cards or use food money if they had to come up with the money his company asked for. The bottom line is if you don't, "you're dead in the water," were his exact words.

I have all my conversations with their smooth talking salesman documented as well as all the propaganda they sent to me of their success stories. Not surprisingly, they're very proud of their toilet bowl bolts. Unless you have a lot of money or investors, do not waste your time with these criminals. Even if they're not doing anything illegal according to the terms of their contract, what they do ethically is appalling. Personally, I'd like to see them sued into a national spotlight and put out of business. When I told them that I had another company in mind, I was told that they were the experts in this area and had done all of the preliminary research to target this company. My husband and I sent an idea in to Davison Design. We paid them 10,000 US dollars. They sent us a digital drawing of something that looked nothing like my husband’s idea. We told Jeff ** we were not going to sign for a drawing that was not what we sent. We had sent 2 prototypes plus a video and papers that the idea could not be altered as we had paid for a design patent in 25 countries. We asked him why they had not done our design. He said “It would not be cost effective to Davison and the manufacturer so this is the best way forward.” We said “You should have told us this before you took our money.” “Well send me an email and what you want us to do.” Alarm bells started ringing, so we checked out web pages and found out Davison Designs is a scam; they steal peoples’ money and they have changed everybody’s idea.

I contacted Ripoff Report and filed a complaint with them. They replied “Davison is a very nice company and has joined our CAP program. If you’re not happy with the way things are going, Mr. Davison says you can pull out and get a refund for work that has not been done. He is 100% customer satisfaction. We will send Davison your complaint and you will hear in 3 to 5 working days.” 10 days later, I have still not heard from Davison and wrote back to Ripoff Report. They did not reply.

The next day a guy called. Greg rang us “What’s the problem?” So we explained to him what had happened. He said to put it in writing. I asked where Jeff ** was and he said “Oh he’s left.” “So who do I address the letter to send it to?” “Jeff ** and I will get it.” I wrote to the compliance department and a letter to Jeff **, telling them we no longer wish to continue with their company, as they had not acted in our best interest and would like all papers and prototypes returned with a refund.

Greg phoned us up and said “What do you want us to do?” I said “Didn't you receive my letter?” “Yes, and you’re not getting a refund.” I told him we had been in touch with Ripoff Report. he laughed, “Never heard of them.” “Well Mr. Davison won’t be pleased.” We stated that he was in the customer satisfaction program. “I will put you in touch with our legal department.” We were contacted on 4/05/2009 by a Frank **. He said “What can we do for you?” My husband explained the situation. “Well send me an e-mail and I will act on it.” I spoke to Frank ** and said “I think you are just giving us the run around. We have sent you emails plus letters and now you want another email.” “Yes, and I will act on it.” So we did, stating that we wanted a full refund within 14 days and all items returned to us. Davison has not contacted us since.

We had to borrow money from family to pay Davison Designs. They have stolen US$10,000 from us and are getting away with it. This company needs to be stopped. They have already had to pay 10 million dollars to the FTC. They lost a court case in July 2008. They have destroyed our dreams and left us in debt.
