On 08-26-07, I dropped off my Subaru Outback at the Auto Dept for an oil change. The tech informed me that if an air filter was needed, would I agree, for a fee, and I said yes. When my instore shopping was done, I returned to pay for all of my items and the oil change. I paid $130.70 and did notice that $7.46 was charged for the air filter. I proceeded to my car and drove away but the more I drove the more a huffing/gushing air noise was coming from my car.

Upon arriving at home my husband opened the hood and noticed the sloppy and lazy way the techs had done the job. The air filter was shoved in crookedly into the casing which then broke off a chunk of the air filter's rubber sealant. Then the casing was broken along with one of the clamps that holds the air filter in place.

So my husband went back to the store with my receipt and was met by a rude and condescending Dept Mgr and her two techs, who vehemently denied they had ever replaced an air filter because they didn't do air filters! My husband then told her then to look at her own receipt and she kept arguing and denying the whole incident and that we had had it done somewhere else! I am livid with anger at these rude and unprofessional people that should have their licenses revoked!

I was so mad that I called their Corporate Offices in Arkansas on 09-07-07 and have yet to receive a call from them! So, I've gone on the web and have done a Formal Customer Complaint via their Contact Us link and see what excuse they come up with. I've demanded an apology and reply with compensations needed to repair my Subaru Outback. Let's hope and pray for a miracle!

I know that this most likely will not be posted and I am fine with that. I just wanted to let people know that Walmart is a mass market company with under paid, under staffed, under qualified, unorganized workers in a lot of places and the workers deal with a large array of problems. Having worked for them and having many people try to blame they vehicle problems on Walmart to get there vehicle fixed for free. Because they are either to cheap or to broke to keep their vehicle in good operating order or buying junkers.

What most people do not tell you when they tell you about their vehicle problems is that they don't do it often enough or knew that they had a problem in the first place. They put it on the paper work that there is something wrong with the vehicle P.T.S. (pier to service) Some people will change there oil on their own at home to and mess the vehicle up and bring it to Walmart and then blame them. I have seen this for myself and had it admitted to me that they had someone else look at the car to change the oil but they couldn't do it. So they brought it to Walmart. So people will then try to make Walmart pay for their mistake.

And on a daily basis I have people that bring batteries in and say it has to be the battery but running the high dollar testing machines on it they still blame the battery and it couldn't be their vehicle and it has to be it. The people at the register doesn't care if it is good or bad. But we have to follow the policies that if the battery is good then we can not do anything for them.

Most cars need a expensive battery and people now of days being cheap as they are will want to get a 1 year battery that is not made for they vehicle and then blame walmart when it messes up their vehicle or doesn't work.

90% of everyone that comes into Walmart's Tire Lube and Express don't think about others.

You will not be getting in and out in 20 minutes or less.

They are not the only person waiting to be helped.

If you come in on a weekend or the first of the month you will not get out in less than a few hours unless you got very lucky.

Walmart is not always to blame but sometimes they are.

Remember that the people working on the vehicles are under paid and paid by the hour. They have no reason to hurry up. If they do hurry up and they mess something up you will be there even longer.

If you want to be rude to the people trying to work on the vehicle. Then do you think they will be nice to you?

If you buy a junker or do not maintain your vehicle expect problems from it.

Went for an oil change. Cost me $50.00. Returned to vehicle and found drivers side window down and stuck. Tech forced window down and said he was not responsible for it. Upon inspection found that the transmission fluid was not checked and replaced (included in service plan). When questioned the tech claimed the fluid level was fine. It was not. It was one and a half quarts low, had I left thinking my fluid levels were fine, my transmission would have been blown, I specifically asked about the fluid because the truck was jerking all that morning. The tech stated that it was leaking a little but the levels were fine. I complained to the co-manager, she insisted the manager was not in. She got the tech to replace the fluid, had to watch him because he was about to put the wrong transmission fluid in my truck. It was clearly written on the container that it was for ford cars, I have a dodge truck. Meanwhile it is two days later and my vehicle is parked outside my door with a plastic bag covering my window, I can't drive it because I will get a ticket for obstructed view. I have called the claims department four times and left messages with the claims manager, she has not returned my calls. I am afraid that someone is going to break in or steal my vehicle. This is day four. No one has answered any of my calls.

Prior to 1 pm on the afternoon of Saturday the 11th of August we dropped our car off for an oil change. It took us nearly 20 minutes to find an agent to check in our car because they were closing early due to low staffing. Reluctantly the agent checked in our car and informed us that we would be the last car of the day. There were three cars ahead of us and we were informed that there would be a two and half hour wait for the oil change.

Instead of going elsewhere we decided to tough it out. We spent 45 minutes at a nearby restaurant as well as over an hour walking around the store looking at merchandise we had no interest in purchasing. When the time had elapsed we went back to the auto center. There was no one there to check us out. After 30 minutes of speaking with people who barely understood what we were talking about, we found someone who told us that our car had been ready for 40 minutes. We paid for the over priced service and got to the car.

Our 99 Pontiac Grand Am SE has a safety feature that tells us when the oil needs to be changed. There is a reset button under the oil filter that will count the mileage and click when time to change the oil again. This was either not reset or the oil was actually not changed. I have given them the benefit of a doubt that the oil was changed. I did however pay for full service and was shocked to find that no fluids were filled, our brakes were not checked, nor was our air filter. The car was not vacuumed. I also discovered through checking myself that our tires were under inflated by nearly 50% which does not happen unless the air is let out.

I was forced to make sure all was well by taking the car back to another service center and paying an additional $40 to change the oil correctly nearly 1,500 miles after the initial change. I inflated all four tires to the designated level and then had our tire shop rotate them. After the second oil change and tire rotation the car went back to normal working order. I will never go back to any WalMart for auto service. I can not trust the poor employees to do the job they are paid poorly to do.

we had our oil changed there approx 4 months ago. as of last week, our car will not run because it won't hold oil. we had mechanics look at it, and they said that when walmart changed it last time, they cracked the housing next to the filter. as time went on and as the engine continued to heat up, the crack worstened to the point that it won't hold oil. we spoke with the store, they came to my house, took pictures and sent it in to their adjusters who said too much time had lapsed, we can't prove it was them so sorry.

the crack is directly next to the filter, it would not have happened unless it was by the person who changed the oil last. so, we are the owners of a 2006 dodge minivan that won't run, and they refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

On 2/11/07, my 13 yr. old daughter and I had a near accident after my car stalled on one of the busiest highways in the Atlanta area. I called AAA and a tow truck was dispatched. It was about 11:30 PM. About 20 minutes later a truck was dispatched. I had my car towed to a local mechanic shop. The next morning I received a call from the mechanic and he stated he had some bad news, he said my car was starved for oil and as a result my engine was gone.

I explained I had an oil change at Wal-Mart Tire & Lube a little over a week ago and I could not see my car not having any oil in such a short period. He informed me that I should notify Wal-Mart immediately. I contacted Wal-Mart and explained my situation and the fact that I had just had an oil change and a tire rotation completed at their store. I was contacted the following day by CMI and asked where my car could be inspected. I was informed that I would have to have my mechanic break down the engine. I questioned who would pay for this and CMI stated, Wal-Mart would cover the cost once a determination was made.

I also had to rent a vehicle. I received a call a day or so later stating that CMI had completed their investigation and it indicated that Wal-Mart was not responsible for my loss. Frustrated, I began to research Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Centers and was shocked to learn of the tremendous history Wal-Mart has with cases just like mine with their Tire & Lube departments across this country.

I have learned that the engine for my car is a rather costly (5000.00), because the Axiom is not a common car. I have incurred expenses from simply have the engine broken down to rental fees to loss days of work just to name a few. I have not been able to afford the cost to have my engine replaced even at this time.

My husband and I took our 2003 Pontiac Sunfire to get an oil change. We were told that it would be 30-45 minutes. An hour later, my husband got up to look in the work area. Our car was lifted on the risers. My husband asked the man behind the counter how much longer it would be. He was told 'a few more minutes'. Our car was still on the lift. Four employees returned from lunch. The man behind the counter seen that we were irritated and said he would check us out, they were done with our car. We checked out, I looked at the receipt. It was not ours, and our car was still in the bay.

My husband pointed out the error, and then one of the mechanics that I had just seen returning from lunch came to advise us that the previous people that changed the oil in our car (which was ANOTHER Wal-Mart) had put our air filter in wrong and the oil cap was broken. We have had NO oil leak or engine problems to substantiate this.

They told us that they were calling around for a part to repair. Finally, after being there for 4 hours, we were told that the part would not be in until Tuesday (Mem. Day weekend) and they would reimburse us for a rental. My husband refused to pay for this, and by this time, it was near 4 on a Saturday and Wal-Mart claimed that they could not find a place that was open.

Wal-mart's insurance is refusing to pay for the full amount of the body repair because it is a "used" truck. It is 2 months old, with 3K miles!

They say they will pro-rate payment for all parts used to fix it. They will not pay for the tire, that has sidewall damage or the rim that is cracked since the truck is "used" and they might not have caused the damage! They claim the truck struck the pole while "parking at a very slow speed". Actually the truck was being driven to the front of the building.

At the end of December I took my car to Wal-Mart to have tires put on and while it was there had the oil changed as well. To my knowledge there has been no one under the hood since the oil change at Wal-Mart. It is now 2 months later and my brake peddle goes all the way to the floor for it to stop. I took it to a local repair shop to have the brakes looked at. Well, they come to find that there is motor oil where the brake fluid goes. As a result the entire brake system has to be replaced. The damage to my brake system is not the result of normal wear and tear.

The first estimate was $2,500 until he realized I had ABS Brakes then the repair went to $5,000. I called Wal-Mart and they asked me to fax the information to them and they would have someone get back to me. They didn't see where it could have been their fault since anyone could have been under the hood. I suspect that when they checked all the fluids (as they do when you get an oil change) the brake fluid was low and they topped it off. . . with motor oil.

On December 29th, 2006, my husband's truck had a flat tire, so he took the tire to the local Wal-Mart for repair. A young employee had great difficulty getting the tire off the rim on the machine and after several attempts, he summoned another young employee over to help him. They then resorted to force it off, using a tire tool. They fixed the flat, which had a leaky valve stem.

When they tried to balance the tire/rim, they were unable to. I was then told that my rim was cracked. I told them it was not cracked when it arrived. The crack is 4 inches long and very visible. We would have seen the crack had it been there when we took the rim in to Wal-Mart.

I returned early the next morning and the manager turned the claim in, but it was denied because the rim was “already cracked“. I went back to the store and spoke with yet another manager, who told me that he would do further investigation and that there are 10 cameras in the work area that film all activity. He was to check the films to verify that the 2 men had a problem getting the tire off the rim and that they used the tire tool on it. He assured me he would call me back that day. No call.

After days of phone calls and rejection, I called the Wal-Mart store to ask if they can change 18" tires and I was told, yes, unless they are aluminum! I then called the claims adjustor who told me that the machines are designed to remove tires unless they are 18" tires. DUH! This is what they worked on....an 18" tire and rim! He then told me that no matter what the tapes showed when viewed, that the claim is denied and will remain denied.

I took my car to Walmart Express for Lube, Oil, Filter on 6 different occasions. We travel around the country and it was a convenient place to get the car serviced. Last week I was doing brake work on my car when I noticed that the upper ball joints had definitely not been lubed 300 miles before. Checking the service record, Walmart's printout showed they had lubed only 2 fittings. Going back through my previous Walmart records I found that they had lubed anywhere from 0 (zero0 to 9 fittings.

I always trusted that when you pay for a lube job, you get a complete lube job. When I returned to the last Walmart, they took my car in and greased two additional fittings. I was told to always mention that there were 6 fittings on the car. Not 9? Not 2? Not 6? I don't know how much damage was done to the car. I change the oil and get a grease job every 3000 miles so my car will be well cared for. But Walmart cannot be trusted to do the work. Please check your service records. Walmart shows how many fittings are greased. Other, more legitimate services, do not need to do this because they can be trusted to do a complete job.

I cannot determine the extent of damage, but I know a defective service when I see it.

I take all 3 of my vehicles to Wal-Mart for an oil change. $25.96 for an oil change and fluid check is not bad. I had never really had a problem until I got my diesel truck. The problem happened the first time I took it in for an oil change. I was in such a hurry that I did not catch the problem until I got home, and I never got around to going back. Well, my truck was due for another oil change so this time I made sure to check everything before I left. Here is the problem. My ford diesel truck holds 15 quarts of oil. When you get the $21.95 oil change it includes 5 quarts oil. However, since this is not enough oil, Wal-Mart charges for the additional oil they need which in turn is all the oil they use. So, on the receipt, I was charged the $25.96 (which includes 5 quarts) and then an additional $28.67 for 14 quarts of oil. I was charged a total of 18 quarts for a truck that holds 15, and only got 14 quarts put in it.

Since I caught it this time, I brought it to their attention. The gentleman in the shop understood the dilemma, but the cashier was the one who needed to correct the problem. Since she did not understand what was wrong, a manager was brought in. After a long while of explaining the problem, he agreed to give me a credit back for the 5 quarts- a difference of nearly $15. Again, I was in a hurry and said, just give me the oil that I was charged for since the return would have taken another 30 minutes out of my day. I ended up leaving with a gallon instead of the 5 quarts, but I was happy to get that and be on my way. I live in an area where several Winter Texans visit. A lot of them drive diesel trucks along with so many other people. Without a doubt, Wal-Mart gets away with overcharging like this on a regular basis. They did it to me once before, but I caught it.

I took my 2000 Mecedes Benz E320 to Walmart Supercenter in Florence SC for a oil change on 24 May 2006 prior to going on to visit my mother in NC. I smelled oil for the entire road trip and had my cousin check under my hood when I got to my mother's house. He found oil all over my engine, so he cleaned it up the best he could and I called the nearest Walmart in Franklin, VA. They told me to check the oil and immediately bring it into the store. Larry729 check my car and discovered that the oil was blowing back from the oil filter because it was not tight, so he called the Florence SC Walmart to inform him what he had found and that his store was going to replace the filter and oil. No one ever contacted me about the mess up in Florence SC.

My car now has damage from that incident and the Becks Imports Mecedes Dealer in Charlotte NC is telling me that the care may have damage to the Mass Air Flow system because of the oil blowing back for the three hour drive or oil damaged a sensor or the plugs which has caused a safety device to kick which has caused the transmission not to come out of low gear to help prevent damage to the engine. The Service Manager at Becks Imports told me to take the car to a local Mecedes Dealer in Florence to have the car checked and it would cost $140.00 just for the test and repairs could be as much as $4500 depending on what they find. I do not have this type of money to put in my car or have money right now to get a new one because I'm attending a nursing program with two kids, one only three months old, and only working on the weekends. My husband is carrying most of the bills and we have a second car payment.

I wish I hadn't of listened to my husband when he told me to forget about it back in May when Walmart didn't contact me back, because I never would have throught that I would have this damage 2 months down the road. Walmart had changed my oil for two years straight with no problems and I always had to take my filter because they didn't carry it, but I should have know something when the service tech was complaining to the lady at the register about changing my oil and saying that he wasn't sure if they could change it on that type of vehicle and he wasn't the one that normally changed it in the past. I got a regular oil change service from the Walmart Tire and Lube express at Sayre. A few days later I started smelling some fumes in my car, especially when I switched on the fan or Airconditioning. I did not have the time to take it to a mechanic at that time. A few days later, the check-engine light went on. Now, I knew for sure something was wrong, so I brought it in to a mechanic in Pittsburgh. The mechanic told me after a checkup that whoever had done the oil-change had not screwed back the oil cap on properly. As a result, the engine oil had sputtered ... there was no engine oil and the sputtering had soaked the oxygen sensor which had damaged it. It cost me 605 dollars to repair.

The next time I went to the walmart tire and lube express, I complained against their negligence. First thing, the management there went into a tizzy, they had several closed meetings, and then they came back and told me that they had sent it to the insurance department, and I would be contacted. So, the next monday I got a call from the insurance agent. He was rude and looking for ways to deny my claim. I hope the fool rots in hell.

First he said that why didnt I contact walmart in the first place when I came to know the damage. I explained to him, that in order to see what the damage was, I had to bring it in to a mechanic. And then, I would have to drive to Sayre to show it to the Walmart people, so I had no option but to get it repaired. What do these people think, that we are sitting free the whole day just so that we can keep calling walmart, waiting for them to repair the damage they caused. Then he pulled out his trump card ... the oxygen sensor is a wearable part, so it could have been damaged on its own. And that I cannot give evidence that someone had not been under the hood of my car since Walmart finished its repairs.

How does one give any such evidence ? Even if I had gone the next day, instead of a month (which is the time it took for the problem to surface completely and for me to take it back to Walmart), they could have still said that they have no evidence that someone had not been under the hood since then. Preposterous. A month is a short time in the lifetime of a car and I do not open the the hood of my car to tinkle with stuff, like most other sensible people.

The fool denied my claim. Like all such people (may they all rot in hell), he had been trained in the art of aggravating, by continously and periodically shouting, will you let me finish, SIR... an age-old tactic.

The cost to me was 605 dollars at the repair shop. My car has never given me any trouble in the engine oil department before. I was also agonized by the treatment of the complaint by walmart ... of course, the negligent employee must be smirking. The whole system sucks.

Drove my car into Walmart Tire and Lube area to have oil changed. Car was in good condition and windsheild was also. After car returned after service noticed that windsheild had a crack underneath the sticker. Did not leave the area but called service manager to concerning area. Walmart does not want to take responsibility for damaged windsheild.

The windsheild now has a spreading crack from the original crack done at Walmart going across the windsheild. Windsheild will cost me 260 out of my pocket.

Went to Walmart to get an oil change. Drove the car home that night and the next day I drove the car to work which is about 40 miles there and drove home which is another 40 miles. When I got just about home I notcied that my car was smoking and i pulled it over and noticed that i did not have any oil in my car. I called Walmart and they sent someone to look at my car and saw that the oil filter was not on so they tighted it and added oil. My car did not drive the same afterwards so Walmart told me to take it to the dealer to have it check out. The dealer stated that it was low on oil and needed the fittings tightened. My car ran better for about one day and now I am having problems again with it not running right.

Walmart refused to have thier people look at it and will not refund my money until i close the case however i do not want to close the case because of problems i am still currently having with the car. MY car is still not running right and Walmart keeps giving me the run around and only wants the dealer to look at the car when they do not have the time to take a good long look at the car.

My son's fiance, Carla, took their car (still titled in my name) in for a oil change and lube. When she went back to pick it up, it sounded like a deisel instead of a four cylinder gas engine. Three technicians came out and checked the oil, listened and made some suggestions as to the potential problem. She didn't drive away, but called me for assistance. I called a tow truck and headed to the store. Upon my arrival, the shop foreman Steve was waiting with Carla. He introduced himself, and began to explain how he was surprised at what happened. The car was running great when it came in and now it sounded horrible. He instructed me to save all receipts and bring them back so they could submit them to their insurance company to reimburse us if it was something they had done wrong.

The car went into the shop and it was determined the hydraulic timing chain tensioner had failed. The cause, no or low oil pressure. The shop was sure to inform me they couldn't tell who might have done it, but the mechanical problem was straight forward, a component failed due to lack of oil. Tow and repair cost just under $500. The event goes down from here. Carla took the receipts back and turned them in. Checked back about a week later and was told it hadn't been submited nor would it be reimbursed because they didn't do anything wrong.

Amazing; the car goes in running just fine, comes out needing to be towed.

I wanted an oil change for $16.95. Then I realize that for $5 more dollars, I can get a package that included interior vacuuming. When I was signing for the higher package, I asked if I should put my things in the trunk to make it easier for them. The cashier replied that the vacuum machine has been broken. At this point, I said I wouldn't pay for a service that I'm not getting and decided on the $16 package. When I got up to pay, I was handed a $22 bill. The cancellation didn't go through and the cashier told me synthetic oil is better anyways. At this point, the manager comes over and the cashier made me look like an idiot by leaving out the part where I wouldn't pay for a service that I didn't receive. Finally, she just charged me $16.95, which was my original purchase. I'm not a cheap person but I value integrity. The amount of trouble I went through for $5 was incredible. Whatever happened to customer service?

I took my car in for an oil change. Nothing unusual happened. After that I drove the car about 100 miles immediately after I left the store. It was just a round trip to a neighboring city. I didn't drive the next day (sunday) then when I started my car on Monday morning to go to work I noticed a sound from my engine. It definitely wasn't making any sounds before the oil change. I thought it was strange, but I had to go to work. I drove about a half a block and the check engine light came on and the car died. I couldn't start it back up.

I checked the dip stick for the oil and when I pulled it out, smoke started rising out of the tiny hole. There was no oil on the dip stick. I called Walmart immediately and talked to the Lube service manager, Courtney. I explained the situation of there not being any oil in my car when there should be some since I had an oil change only 2 days before. He personally drove out to where my car died to check it out. He brought some oil to put in the engine. When he poured the oil in I noticed that it was just pouring right back out the bottom onto the street. Yes, the drain plug was gone.

No idea how long I drove the car without oil. My guess is that they didn't tighten the plug and it fell out. Courtney went to a parts store, bought a new plug and more oil. Put in the plug and some oil. Luckily the engine started back up. He recommended I get a systems diagnostic. So I took it to a dealer to get looked at.

When I had the car checked out at a dealer. They recommended more thorough checks by opening up the gaskets, dropping the oil ban and checking some kind of bearings. They also did some pressure checks. I guess I got lucky, there was no damage internally. But it cost about $600 to make sure. The good part is I didn't have any problems with walmart's insurance company. Courtney was very kind and quick with filing a claim to get me taken care of. They had my reimbursement check to me in just over a week.

Had my oil change done Dec 24, 2005 and after work was done I drove about a block and the oil light was flashing on and off. I stopped and check the dip stick and it indicated that there was oil in the van. Drove a few more blocks and light was still flashing on and off so I stopped into another Walmart (Pickering) and told them what was happening, so the Service Manager came out to look at more van and checked the dip stick and again there was still oil in the van. He then asked me how many kilometers were on my van so I went to check the dashboard and the oil light was on so I showed him. I told him my van had approx. 211,000 kms on it and he said that it was getting up there for high mileage so I should add an oil additive.

I went into the store right away and purchased the additive and put into the van. I drove home and had the van sitting for 2 or 3 hours, then my son had to go out. He went a few kilometers and he heard a loud bang and pieces of metal shot out from undernear the van, the oil poured out onto the road and the van was filling up with smoke. I had to get a rental car and have the van towed to my mechanics. Walmart sent their insurance people and they checked over the van and said that the engine blew as a result of an internal failure in the engine and not their oil change. My son had picked up the pieces of metal that came off of the van and at no time did anyone ask to see them in their investigation. I spoke to my mechanic and asked him what he thought had happened and he had said that there obviously was a lubrication issue.

I have used Walmart for my oil changes for the last few years and never had a problem and I always get my oil changed every 5,000 kms. It seems very strange that within hours of having my oil changed the engine blew and I had no problems prior to that with the van (no engine noises, oil light had never come on). As a matter of fact in the beginning of December of drove from Ontario, Canada to St Louis, Missouri without any problems.

As a result of this I had to rent a car which cost just over $400.00. To replace the engine I have an estimate of approx. $7000.00 for new and $3000.00 for rebuilt. Today is January 9, 2006 and I have been without a car since Dec 24, 2005 (the rental was taken back on Dec 30, 2005 because I couldn't afford it anymore) and I am getting rides to and from work by co-workers.

I told him what had just happened and he told me to go have the engine cleaned and they would pay for it. My husband called him back and told him how do we know whether the car has oil in it or not, then the manager said he would come by our house (we live very close) but have heard nothing as yet. I drive a very clean 2000 Lexus and i will be contacting an attorney over this mess.

I took my car into walmart to get an oil change, like I do frequently. Although I did not notice a problem imediatley, a couple of months later, I noticed my car making a weird noise. I then took it to my mechanic to see what the problem was. He told me the last person who changed my cars oil did not put the oil plug in all of the way, and caused my oil to leak. Eventually it drained out so much it caused the head gasket to crack. Now I need a new motor.

I am a true college student. I am just trying to get by with the same car until I graduate. I have absolutely no money. Walmart told me my car is old, and it was going to break down eventuallly. They have been nothing but rude, crude, and horrible. I dont deserve this. I have no car, no money, and they dont care about my service to their company. I now have to ride a bike everywhere I go. And have almost been hit twice, while on my bike.
