Vehicle Assurance availability

Through its plan administrators, Vehicle Assurance offers service contracts for a range of vehicles. You can get a contract from Vehicle Assurance if your car is in good working condition when coverage begins. If you drive an older vehicle, the company may require you to complete an inspection to verify the car’s condition.

Once you have a contract through Vehicle Assurance, you can take your vehicle to any certified repair facility in the United States or Canada. The facility must be certified through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

Vehicle Assurance coverage and plans

Vehicle Assurance sells contracts administered by two companies, United Car Care and Omega Auto Care. Between the two partners, Vehicle Assurance offers six extended warranty plans with different levels of coverage. The right plan for you can depend on several factors, including your car’s make and model, age and mileage.

Vehicle Assurance plans cover different components, so review your options to decide which one is right for you. Powertrain and stated component plans only cover specific parts, but they cost less than exclusionary coverage.

Two exclusionary plans — United Car Care’s Platinum Plus and Omega Auto Care’s New Exclusionary — provide protection for most vehicle parts. Some plans come with additional benefits, such as roadside assistance and rental reimbursement.

United Car Care is the company’s primary administrator, so this table lists all three plans available from this provider. It also shows the powertrain and exclusionary coverage available through Omega Auto Care. Vehicle Assurance provides sample contracts on its website, which you can review for more details.

Vehicle Assurance coverage limits

Service contracts through Vehicle Assurance have coverage limits on what components are covered and how much is paid out to service providers. These limits may vary slightly based on the plan and administrator. Check your contract or contact the company for details.

Vehicle Assurance cost

Based on a quote we collected for a 2018 Honda Civic with around 70,000 miles, the United Car Care Platinum Plus plan costs $3,842 for 60 months or 125,000 miles of coverage, whichever comes first. Vehicle Assurance offers a 24-month payment plan with monthly payments of around $150. It requires a $250 down payment. A Vehicle Assurance representative we spoke with said other vehicles with similar mileages would also have prices in this range for the exclusionary warranty.

No matter which plan you choose, you may need to pay a deductible for repairs. The standard contract deductible is $100, but other amounts may be available. Vehicle Assurance offers no-fee payment plans.

Vehicle Assurance benefits

Contracts come with additional benefits, such as towing and roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement and trip interruption insurance, depending on the plan. The extent of these benefits varies based on whether you have a plan through United Car Care or Omega Auto Care. Ask for details when signing up for a contract.

Vehicle Assurance policies

Review the terms carefully when purchasing a service contract through Vehicle Assurance to ensure you understand the company’s policies. If you have an older vehicle, you may need to get it inspected before coverage begins.

After signing up for a contract, you can cancel within the first 30 days to receive a full refund. Beyond the first 30 days, you can cancel your contract for a prorated refund. You’ll need to contact Vehicle Assurance to cancel your coverage.

Vehicle Assurance allows you to transfer your contract to a new owner if you sell your car privately. You also have the option to renew your contract before it expires.

Vehicle Assurance FAQ

How does Vehicle Assurance work?

Vehicle Assurance partners with two extended warranty providers, United Car Care and Omega Car Care, to offer vehicle service contracts. Once the car’s warranty expires, a vehicle service contract continues to provide protection for mechanical problems. If your car breaks down and you have a contract, you can take it to a certified repair facility and have it call the claims phone number to start the process.

How do I file a claim with Vehicle Assurance?

If your vehicle needs repairs covered under your contract, you can ask the certified service facility to call the claims number listed on your contract or identification card. The service provider can initiate the claims process with Vehicle Assurance.

Is Vehicle Assurance legit?

Yes, Vehicle Assurance is a legitimate company offering vehicle service contracts through two administrators. It sells extended warranty plans with varying levels of coverage through these providers.
