I seldom stop at Speedway but yesterday my husband had a doctor's appointment and we had to drive to Columbia, TN for the appointment. On the way my low gas light came on so I stopped at Highway 99 station and used my debit card to purchase gas. We were running late so I only pumped 10.00 in gas and went on to the doctor's appointment. After the appointment we went to purchase medications for my husband and my card was declined. Knowing I saved enough money in my account to take care of that I signed on to my bank account to check my balance and found I was charged $125.00 for $10.03 in gas.

Made a trip back to Speedway and talked to cashier who was clueless and said that could not happen. She called out manager who was rude and blamed it on my bank. I told him I worked for that bank 27 years and they run debit transactions for amount they receive from the business. They do not make up amounts and take them from their customers. Then he explained that Speedways everywhere have a policy that adds $100.00 if you use your credit card to pay for gas at pump. Well when I went to school many years ago $10.03 plus their $100.00 was not $125.00. He said when bank processes the transaction the $125.00 will fall off and the $10.03 will post. There are no signs at pumps that indicate you will be charged excessively for using your card and here I am 2 days later still waiting for the $125.00 to fall off my account. This is an unfair practice to steal from consumers.

My son looked up some information about this policy and found it is allowed but when happens has to be removed from account within 2 hours and amount is to be no more than $100.00 That is quite a bit less than 2 days that I have waited. Good news is that it will not ever happen to me again because I will never shop at a Speedway again even if I run out of gas trying to make it to a station!

I frequently stop in at # 7950. Tonight I came in with my 18 yr son (he was making a purchase as well.) I Sat down my items on the counter the cashier says "I need to see id's." I replied "you need an ID as I am making this purchase." She replies "I thought he is with you." I reply "he's with me and I'm making my OWN purchase." This was uncalled for to imply I was buying the beer or cigarettes for my son. I'm 42 well over the ID age ok!! But this store has the rudest ** women (except for April) I've encountered. Recently the cashier name Tater was so ugly and didn't want to wait on me as I only asked for a pack of cigarettes. Then another cashier Freeshia is always so distracted talking to other employees she never gets your purchase correct. And I know this review will go nowhere but I don't understand how Speedway can allow their employees to be so rude, racist, dysfunctional...

My store is literally not even a mile but I will drive across town to the hasty Mart to get friendly customer service. This sorry store don't ask to scan your reward card much less give you a receipt. And don't let them get a phone call & a line of customers waiting because they stop your transaction to answer the phone & act like you're not there. I don't know who owns Speedway in Snowhill NC on Kingold Blvd... but maybe you can send some undercover to check out this store better yet take a look at your camera footage.

I read other reviews in other states in general it's all the same complaint "rude employees." This company does not enforce friendly customer service they must, don't give a damn about the customers who bring money to your pot!!! I am not going to be treated like this nor will my son. I have worked a public job now 22 yrs. I got customer service down pat. And if I ever do go to that awful store I bet Freeshia will not holler & throw her mouth at me in front of all the customers NOT ANOTHER TIME and no need to go to the manager about any complaints bc she is the rudest of all.

I got hit by a McLane truck door on SPEEDWAY property and Speedway sees no liability in this!!! They DON'T care about you or your well-being. Boycott this chain before you get injured without proper compensation too!! They shuffled me off to McLane who's owned by KMART and McLane is trying to avoid any liability in this. I'm sure they haven't even fired the driver or his helper either. As a result of the accident I have a ripped rotator cuff in my dominant arm and have been fired from my job because I cannot do my job to the best of my ability.

I called Speedway and they outwardly said they don't care and will do nothing about the incident because they weren't driving or operating the truck but failed miserably in looking out FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! The manager of the DeerPark store on Long Island NY allowed a McLane truck operate on their property in an unsafe manner without regard for the customer base. This is why Speedway should be boycotted. The things you get for free are made up by shoddy change machines that shortchange you as well as being scalped on fuel. Even the sandwiches aren't fresh and on the verge of turning rancid.

When the promotion came out I had $2.40 off a gallon of gas for a max allowance of 25 gallons. Gas was $2.40 yet I was still charged .069 cents per gallon and yes I asked for the max allowance and was still charged $17.48. After getting a phone call from the corporate office in Ohio saying I can go jump in the lake. Basically I feel it's time to make Speedways time in NY a rough one. If I have to I'll organize a rally and bring the local media into this!!! It won't look good for Speedway after the negative public attention unless the public agrees it's ok for SPEEDWAY to claim no liability for this accident!! BOYCOTT SPEEDWAY IN NY!!! Send them packing back to OHIO!! You're not getting off on this Speedway!!! Do the right thing or get out of NY!!!

We have a new store to open here in Springfield Tn., We stopped in to just look around and support our new business. After looking around I decided to buy a beer. When I got to the counter to show my I.D. and pay they wanted to see my wife's I.D. as well. When I asked why they said "store policy". We are both in our late 50's and understand checking my I.D. being I'm the purchaser, but what if this were my 17 year old son with me. Does this mean if we stop by together and I want a beer I have to do without because my son is with me. I think you're pushing this a little beyond. Nevertheless I will not be back to support your store. I will continue shopping the other stores in our area.

When Speedway was last in this state they were a filthy mess, now after taking over Hess and Wilco it is now the same. Hess and Wilco strived for clean well run facilities, now it's disgusting. Fuel islands are dirty, showers filthy and bathrooms are really disgusting. Maintenance persons are relatives of the manager so they won't do their job, rather talk to the girls. Truck drivers are now not stopping. Way to go Speedway.

This is the closest gas station to my house. I WILL NEVER BE BACK! My mother who works not even 2 miles from the gas station as well as her co-workers shop there every night as well. My mother went to Speedway before work as she usually does. The cashier Kim ** did not set her pump after prepaying for gas. Mistakes happen. My mom went back in, walked back out and the pump was still not set. 3 times she had to walk in the gas station. Kim ** told my mother in front of 2 of her co-workers and about 10 customers that my mother was the rudest person she ever met. And so when her pump was FINALLY set she sat in her car after standing in the freezing cold for over 20 minutes because she had prepaid.

She looks at the window and at this time the pump has ran over 5$. At this time my mother was late for work. She then had to spend her entire lunch break in the store trying to figure out why her card was run twice, once for the original amount of 12$ and then again for 18.81$. Then had to go in at 8 am to speak to the Manager Chris whom I talked to on the phone this morning as well and was also RUDE to me. He said he didn't know what he could help me with. What a nice bunch you have working for you Speedway. I will not be back

Chuck still was ignoring me, and continued with what he was doing. You offer rewards for loyal customers, yet if something is wrong with the computer it is all null and void. I'd never pocketed anything before. I'll never spend another dime in there. I'll not support any business that hires crude, rude, dudes like that. Usually, employees at this location have been nice but there is one guy there who is very cocky and rude. He made demeaning remarks to my child about needing help to slide the card (he was unsure which way the card needed to be turned for the terminal). Since this poor man thinks it too much for him to help a customer slide a card, I will make sure Speedway never need to slide my cards again. Customer service and basic human manners go a long way and some of the Speedway employees need some training to that end.

On September 29, 2015 I filled up at the Wilmington Speedway gas station. The pump charged me for 20.5 gallons of gas which is two quarts less than the tank's full capacity. I had a quarter tank when I began to fill up and the trucks internal calculation also verified that. I sent a written notification to Speedway, but I have received not even an acknowledgment. Basically, they overcharged me by $10. It is not a big sum, but it makes them the most expensive gas station in town rather than one of the cheapest.

Every time I come in to pay the poor employee has a deer in the headlights look and freezes. Apparently they don't train them on using the machine. Well I don't have 45 minutes to stand there while they call the manager on the phone to find out how to process the card. There's a new person every time I come in.

Called corporate C/S and when I explained the problem and asked why they weren't asking for my contact info so the District Manager that would be handling my concern she said they wouldn't be contacting me. Well Speedway. Guess what? I won't be bringing my 12K gallon of diesel a year business to you and will keep it at Kwik Trip. I'll use the BP with the girl with DON written on both her hands knuckles before I come back. It's sad. SuperAmerica was a good station and then Speedway ghettoized it.

We as consumers have multiple times shown our concerns about this matter and the manager there shows no concern and doesn't fix the problem. Today, 1/16/15, the "new" manager was so completely hateful, and downright mean to a new employee, that a customer got upset and stormed out AND made the new girl cry after ripping a receipt out of her hand and saying some very nasty things. MADE HER CRY!!!

I moved to the area around July of 2010. I never liked Speedways; they always seemed dirty and customer service was bad. I stopped in this location one evening to purchase a few items and found the most refreshing cashier behind the counter, with a smile on her face, asking me how I was that evening and everything. I was delighted! I couldn't believe Speedway had actually hired someone that said hello when you walked through the door! So, even though their prices weren't the most reasonable, I continued to shop here anyway because it was close to home and I happen to love this person behind the counter, which was a first!

A few nights ago, I found out this woman was fired from her position because she left work early due to being ill. Instead of staying and waiting out her shift, she and her co-worker agreed it would be all right if she left for the night. Apparently, she came back the next day and was fired for leaving early. I can't understand a company that would fire someone for basically understanding the best of customer service and knowing to leave in the event that she could potentially get someone else sick! She was fired because (according to the other employee there) she never notified management.

If management isn't present and there's no getting a hold of them and you are sick, you should be able to leave your post. I am a manager of several other chains of gas stations, which I will not mention, and this was just outrageous to me! I'm hoping to find this woman and give her a real job where she doesn't have to fear losing her livelihood if she gets sick. How sick is this corporation to fire someone over something like being sick? How can you honestly expect someone to perform their job duties as required if they are sick? You expect them to stay and wait out that time and then call in the next day because they're really sick?!

This company makes absolutely no sense and I have made it a point to tell all my friends and family, “Unless you're in a really tight spot and it's the only place around, do not shop at Speedway!" What a joke of a company! At this rate, with what you all do to your employees, you'll put yourselves out of business in no time!

And she just marked me as I left the building. I have never in life seen so much disrespect coming from a person that deals with customers - rude, very rude. I couldn’t believe it. I was the laughing stock for the night at SuperAmerica in Minnesota on University Northeast. She brushed me off to get out of her face and hair.

At 4:41 am, I went to purchase gasoline and cigarettes at Store #4038.

When I showed the clerk my SuperAmerica Rewards card, she said that they switched over to a new plan. I asked if the points I currently have will be transferred over to the new card, but instead of answering my question she said, in a very snarky tone, that she is trying to explain it to me. I patiently listened to her entire explanation and when she finished, I continued to tell her that I also needed cigarettes, and asked for a pack of Marlboro's. Before I could tell her the second pack brand, she abruptly interrupted me saying that It's not that difficult to which I can only assume she was referring to the instructions for switching the points from the old card to the new card system.

I have no idea why she would assume I would think its difficult, as I did not indicate any confusion on my part. Her attitude was sub-par, and as a manager, myself, in the customer service industry, I was appalled by her lack of friendliness, patience and overall demeanor. All I asked was simply if my points were carried over to the new system. That is all I merely wanted to know at 4:45 am and if I wanted a full description, I would have read the pamphlet which she slid over the counter to me.

This SuperAmerica is rather slummy in my opinion and this incident is not the first. I've experienced many situations at that location whereby I've felt that the employees are rude and obnoxious to, not just me but, other customers as well.

In the future, it would be nice to have a pleasant shopping experience at this store as I live in the neighborhood, and I spend the majority of my money on gasoline at that location. I will be going to Holiday on Arcade Avenue in the foreseeable future for all my gasoline purchases.

I came into this store at 10:30 or so at night to purchase a calling card and I laid it on the counter and added that I needed a small bag of ice. When I walked away I realized the calling card was not charged and there was no activation. Without being rude, I simply turned around and informed the cashier that he had forgotten to ring up the calling card. He started yelling at me and would not stop, the entire time he was checking out the customer who went in front of me while ringing up my calling card. He berated me and just balled me out about how it was my fault and that I should have told him that I was purchasing it. He thought I was going to do two transactions, he thought I changed my mind, etc.

I just simply said, "Sir, I placed it there to purchase. I never said I changed my mind or that I needed to pay in two methods. I didn't say anything until I realized you didn't ring it up. I don't want to argue Sir I just want to buy this card." He continued to make snide remarks and sarcastically told me how wonderful I was and what a great customer and how he couldn't wait to see me in there again. I said I am begging you please stop I am 8 months pregnant with high blood pressure, diabetes, and pre-eclampsia.

Clearly I was getting stressed and i asked him to stop treating me like this. Everyone in line was in shock. The guy who had gone in front of me not knowing I hadn't been fully rung out felt bad and apologized for the man's behavior! I was pleading with him because stress can be extremely dangerous to my child including death to my child and myself. I left the store with him still yelling at my backside. I cried in the car for 10 minutes while calling my husband who came back up to the store to ask him why he was behaving like that with his pregnant wife who was very stressed out and of course Charles denied everything.

I asked for the manager's name and he was so cocky about giving me all the information I needed because the manager, Michelle, was his buddy. There wouldn't be any consequences for his behavior. I told him very nicely "I never wanted to argue with you and cause you stress on the job and I didn't want you to argue with me. All I wanted was the calling card!"

Charles was argumentative and unprofessional. I couldn't get any personal responsibility out of him. I never was mad to begin with until he started blaming me and charging me with questions. "WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY YOU WANTED TO BUY THAT?" I was rude with him back, saying that's what I tried to do when i put it on the counter, what else would that mean? I never intended to argue but the cashier instigated and wouldn't stop even after I said "Okay, it's over please because I don't want to endanger my unborn child!" Later, he yelled at my husband too when we walked out, out of courtesy for customers we didn't want to hold up his line. In front of everyone he yelled sarcastically, "How wonderful these customers are, have a great night!" As if we were inappropriate with him, yelling, harassing, and arguing.

I was dumbfounded. All I could say was, "Sir, I can't believe how you treat your customers." I wanted to go to the manager but he made it clear he had been there a long time and they are buddies and nothing was ever going to happen to him just by his attitude and what he said to me. I did submit a complaint through speedway contact form on their website but there wasn't much in the way of a specific place to direct my complaint.

I am sadly writing this commentary and complaint in regards to my visit this morning to your Warren, MI (Van Dyke) store location. My son (11 years old) and I arrived at your store around 6:30 AM on the way taking my son to school. My son got out at the gas pump, and I continued inside to pay for the gas. Upon arriving to the register I stated I wanted $10 on the pump, and the young lady stated "he pumped $57". I said I do not have $57. She said, "well you have to pay it". I said "let me see what is going on", so I went outside and asked my son what happened and he said, "She told me to start pumping the gas".

I went back in and asked her "did you tell him to start pumping the gas, he is only 11?". She said, "Yes, it is a prepaid pump I have no way of knowing he is only 11". So I said, "Well what is your procedure for this situation?". She said, "You need to pull off, and I will take down your license plate, and call the police as a drive off". I stated firmly, "No I am not driving off. I will stand right here. Is there another payment option or procedure?". She stated no you need to do a drive off.

So I asked to speak to the manager. The manager (Kathy) came over and said she would have to call someone. As she spoke to the person on the phone she stated, "Yeah, you have to do a drive off". I emphatically said, "Well no I am not driving off, but can you call the police so I can fill out some type of reimbursement plan or something". Upon the police's arrival, they asked for my wallet and saw money that I had dedicated to bills, including an overdue life insurance policy (I have a terminal illness) and rent that needed to be paid.

They made me pay for the gas with the dedicated finances I was not entitled at that period. My complaint is the rudeness of the cashier, and the lack of either proper procedure or protocol. Though the cashier gave misguided directions to an 11 year old, I would have been more than willing to pay for the gas, but not at the risk of losing my life insurance policy. It was one of my most dehumanizing experiences I have faced. The consequence is that I lost my place of stay.

I went to Speedway #2215 to make a purchase, wrote a check for 17.56 only to have it declined and denied. The check was put through twice but still denied and declined. Called my bank who stated it is nothing with them it would be the company hired by Speedway. I contacted Global Payments only to be put into an answering machine. When I did talk to a person they told me if I gave them the information they needed (my personal information) they would send me a letter in 3 to 5 days. I tried to purchase gas from Speedway # 8790 today and the same thing happened. Declined. No reason.

I was at this gas station, today, July 25, 2008, and filled up 2 of my cars, a ford pick up (with 20 gal tank) and a mercedes benz (with 20 gal tank) each with $100. The pump read that I filled each vehicle with 22.889 gallons each. My gas gauge showed only 3/4 tank full. This gas station is stealing my money. I would like to report gas gouging and I would like a refund. Please investigate. How can I obtain my refund? They are thieves, abusing and taking advantage.

I took two 5-gallon containers to the gas station and almost completely filled them both (not quite to the top)- so just less than 10 gallons of gas, however, I was charged for 11.016 gallons ($30.28).

The price on the street sign said $1.38. When the gas was pumped we noticed it was set on $1.42. My husband went in to tell the cashier and he said they had to have someone come in that changes prices, they could not do it there. This is not true because they are changed through the computer on location.
