When I talked to mechanics, they recommended Protect My Car over CarShield, that it was a better company for paying claims, and that it was an overall better company. CarShield was charging me $120 a month and Protect My Car quoted me $80. So far, I like Protect My Car. I got my oil change done with my dealership. I had to educate my dealership and tell them that Protect My Car was not like other car warranty places, that they give you three oil changes through any dealer. I can use my dealership whereas with CarShield, I could not. I took in my pamphlets and literature that I had on their benefits. They were pleasantly surprised on my local Toyota dealership. They did an oil change, and everything went well.
My current plan is that they fix more parts on my Toyota if they break down, and I only pay 25% of the covered repair. If I pay $80 a month and didn’t use them this quarter, at least I’m getting my oil change done and use their member benefit website for discounts on groceries and restaurants. They have a rewards website and discounts on gift cards. They also have roadside assistance and towing. That $80 go a long way with them. Whereas with CarShield, I was paying $120 but wasn't getting any incentives.

The reps were thorough and able to answer my questions. So far, Protect My Car has been definitely worth it. I was impressed with the fact that I had multiple things going on with my van and they sent somebody out to look at it while the van was at the shop to make sure that things were legit, that what they were claiming needed to be done had to be done. But there was one situation where they said they wouldn't pay for it. It was highly off-putting and probably my worst experience. They had taken a picture of an area in which they said that it was a preexisting condition which didn't make sense to the dealer, to the person who was fixing the vehicle and to myself. I ended up having to pay for that portion. But Protect My car went ahead and took care of another area so it helped. I've had my car taken care of about five times and it's been decent.

Out of the other companies I called around, Protect My Car seemed like the most decent priced. The customer service guy came off as excited and warm. It didn't sound like some run-of-the-mill or kinda customer service that was rattling off from a list. There were some stuff that they didn't cover but once I asked the questions, they were very knowledgeable with my follow-up. They covered 90% of what I would need to know and with my questions, they covered everything else.
I did an oil change and filed through their process to reclaim the money. When I called in to ask them, the other person I spoke to let me know that they automatically send you gift cards unless you specifically request a check. Since he gave me that information, I made sure to request the check. Within a week, I got the check for the refund for my oil change. It was pretty smooth process.

It's a good thing I can get my oil change with Protect My Car. I have free three oil changes a year. That's been helpful. I have roadside assistance as well. Their customer service is awesome too. They are always quick to answer the questions and get it done. You don't have to wait for anything. The only thing that I may consider is what I pay every month which is $92 but other than that, I would recommend people to Protect My Car. I don't have a deductible.

Protect My Car is full of crap. When I took my car to go get serviced, they wouldn’t even pay for the diagnostic. They would only pay for a piece that I could pay out of pocket for. They didn't wanna cover what was wrong with it. They said they would send me a check but I never got it. When I called back, they thought I was lying. The rep said they sent it and it was my fault that I didn't get it. There's one phone number and it’s always to that one guy. He’s very rude. He doesn’t explain anything. It was a mess dealing with them. That was the first company I ever have for an extended warranty and I've been so furious.

Protect My Car management takes all such statements seriously. Our records indicate that your reimbursement check was issued in March, and a specialist attempted to contact you to review your concerns but was not successful. We apologize if you found your customer experience with Protect My Car unsatisfactory, as we strive to provide the best service in the industry, and we are looking into the matter immediately. Also, we make every effort to assist customers with repairs to their vehicles, and there are seldom any issues with approving claims. However, certain components and items are not able to be covered due to mandates and regulations in the industry. Protect My Car is a great program. I've enjoyed the service. It hasn't let me down since I've had it. Any time I've had any type of service that it covers, it covered it without a problem. I would send them a picture of the receipt, and they’d send me a check or put it on the card. I would give the business the phone number, they would call Protect, and Protect would let them know if it covered what it was working on. I've had problem with some of the businesses and the last time I called Protect My Car, I had an outstanding customer service person. He sent an an email of people that accept Protect My Car in my area.

The rep was very pleasant. However, I don't like Protect My Car’s roadside service. I had a flat tire and asked to be towed. It was a mile and a half and that was an additional charge of 120 some odd dollars.

At first, I was skeptical because I was paying for it and never had to use it. But I have gotten some free oil changes through them. I asked about a brake servo, brake pad changing, but they said it didn't cover replacement parts like that.

So far, the service has been good. But they should break down what they don't cover so I don't think that something's covered and I get my vehicle to the shop and then Protect My Car says, "Oh no, we don’t cover that.” Make sure you have the customer service number and the ID number they give you for your claim. I told the dealer, “I have Protect My Car. So, before you do any work, make sure you call them and see what's covered. And don't do anything until I know it’s under my Protect My Car coverage.”
Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied. I take my car every month for an oil change and rotation of tires that Protect My Car cover. Also, I just did something that I didn’t know they cover. I had towing and I was told it was $200 something, but Protect My Car covered $100 of it, which was good.

I need a higher package ‘cause the last time I took the vehicle for a repair, there was a lot of stuff that I didn't realize wasn’t covered. I went in for my AC compressor and some other stuff. The major component was covered, but the little fixings that were associated with the major component on it weren't. I ended up having to pay for all those out of pocket. We shouldn’t have had but it’s no fault of the company. If I would've went ahead and dove into my contract a little bit deeper, I would have realized that.
I went back and read parts that are not covered. It was all those little items. Before the major part breaks, little stuff associated with the part is probably gonna break first. I was able to get one thing fixed that was covered which was $400 and all the little stuff that were associated with the major part was $1,500. Having that package that I have didn't help me out. It happened at least two years before I had even done anything with it, outside of getting the oil change that they give me every month. It’s not horrible, but it's a little bit misleading to the untrained eye. Also, I would enjoy it more if Protect My Car had a user-friendly website. They don't have a lot of interactive services that I can utilize.

I had an issue the other day when I was getting the oil change, and everything was pretty efficient. The associate that was helping me was pretty thorough. He was pretty patient with all I had going on. It's been an easy process trying to get everything taken care of.

I like Protect My Car a lot and I already referred somebody to them. It's a good investment. I had a repair on my vehicle and once everything was sealed and done, I walked out of there paying a penny for my services. That was astronomical for me. I've never had an experience like that. I also do free oil change thru them and I enjoy that service. They call me and remind me 'cause I forget. The customer service is great. Even the people that Protect My Car contracts with are great.

The person who signed me up was extremely nice. But I called Protect My Car again because I was kind of having some second thoughts and the second person that I talked to was extremely nice as well. There was no pressure. They were really rooting for the warranty. They were excellent. When I take my car to the dealership, I ask them to check to see if the warranty is going to cover my services and I leave it. Then the service man calls the warranty company for verification and he's never had any problems. It's normally a quick process.

Protect My Car was the cheapest and offered the most. The quality of their service was amazing. When I filed a claim, the dealership took care of it all. The only thing I had to do was send in a receipt for a rental car. The reps were very knowledgeable. When I was signing up, they told me what it all entailed, that it will include three oil changes a year. I feel more secure knowing that I have the insurance.

I did an oil change and I was satisfied with it. But I went through a lot of changes just to get the oil change.

The rep was helpful. It's nice to have the oil changes covered and if I have any major repairs such as transmission. But there are other things that the warranty really doesn't cover that would be helpful. I had had my car inspected and then there were certain things such as brakes rotors and those sort of things that aren't covered within the package. That had me on the fence with shopping around for another extended warranty that covers those things because there's just still quite a bit of an expense when you don't have it.
I've submitted claims twice so far at the dealership at Malloy Ford. I just handed the card and they made a phone call. Everything that they covered was actually paid for. So far, the customer service has been a pretty good experience.

Protect My Car has been good to me. My most recent claim has something to do with my radiator. I take the car down to INFINITI. My service rep calls the customer service, gives them my contract number, he’ll verify everything, and they’ll approve or deny. I’ve been 100% approved since I’ve been with them. I like that Protect My car does those three free oil changes and tire rotation.

I'm very happy with Protect My Car. I have a 2018 Sonata that's fully electronic, and I know no other company provides high tech electronics. I like the rating with the ConsumerAffairs as well as with the Better Business Bureau. I love the reps too. I had to get some common stuff done, and they were able to assist me with getting me into the right places so that I could save some money. It was awesome and quick. I didn't have to wait on hold very long for their customer service. I was taken care of right away, and I didn't even have a claim.

Signing up was fast, and Protect My Car has been great. They helped me with my oil change, and the claims process was simple. I just gave the dealership the card number, and they took care of everything else. So far, it's a peace of mind knowing that if anything major happens, I'm gonna be covered.

My backseat locks went crazy on me. You press the button to lock them and they'll make funny noises. Sometimes, they'll get stuck and they won’t even open. The repair shop had to get the pieces, and they had my car for less than a week. They gave me a loaner for that week, and they charged Protect My Car. That claim was awesome. The signup process was good too. I called Protect My Car and they asked me the mileage on my car and told me how much I could get from my value on my car and how much I'll be paying monthly. I had one other extended warranty and it expired, and I was paying the same price. Overall, it's been a great experience and I love Protect My Car. For the money that I've used in paying for it, it's worth it. It’s really worth what I bargained for, and I have more people joining.

The coverage was alright in the beginning. When I had some problems with my car the first time, I didn't use the warranty 'cause I wasn't aware of what I would do to use it. The second and third time, I used them, it wasn't covered. When I had an issue with the exhaust thing, that was all right. I took the car in and the guy ran the stuff with a computer, came back, and told me that Protect My Car would pay half of the cost.

I signed up for the free oil change. That has been doing me justice so far. When I take my car to the dealership to get the oil changed, I just showed them the card. They call Protect My Car, and my oil changes are free. And every time I call, someone answers the phone. So, I'm happy.

I am completely disappointed and honestly pissed with this company…I was out of my car for over a week going back and forth with them about what needed to be fixed on my vehicle and then when it came down to fixing it they came up with every single excuse on why they were not going to fix my vehicle…they are scamming people out their money and not wanting to pay for repairs…I am totally pissed off and I am not happy at all…I will be reporting to the BBB as well. Don’t waste your time with this company!!!

The rep I spoke with did a great job. So far, they have replaced a fuel pump for me. That was a $1,200 repair and it cost me 100 bucks. I'm already up. But I've been trying to make a payment now for a couple of days and I can't get through to them on the telephone. I'm trying to change a credit card as they have an old one on file. I was on the line for over 45 minutes both times.

I had a repair five months ago with a compressor for my air conditioner. I paid my deductible and gave the dealership my card. They proceeded with the labor and the work. Within a couple of days I had my car. And everything was fine.

I love Protect My Car. They've been really good to me and they're so nice. The coverage saves me money. It's the assurance of knowing that if I break down and it's something that's covered, they're gonna take care of it. For the first two years of having the warranty, they fixed things that they weren't responsible for. Also, I get oil changes, pay, and then they refund me later. It's a check that comes in the mail and it's great. I tell all my friends to get Protect My Car. I got warranties pushed on me through the dealership and I said, "No, I have Protect My Car, I don't need one."

The reps when I was setting up the package were very friendly, inviting, and had a lot of information. All the questions that I asked back then, I don't remember them not answering them. I've done a couple of claims with Protect My Car. The most recent has been within the past week. I initially went to the dealership service center and I asked them if they would be able to look at my vehicle. I called over the phone to set up an appointment, and they told me Friday. When I took the vehicle up there and told them who was going to take care of it, they said that they don't work with them. They told me a couple of reasons why. I called Protect My Car and asked them who they work with. They then gave me a mechanic that was here in Greensboro. I immediately called them to verify, then I had an appointment that was set up for this past Monday.
My experience was a little bumpy because initially, from all the way back when I first heard the commercials, the commercials were telling me, "Hey, if you do this, it's silver and gold. It's luxury." And then you go through and pay then whenever you need them, it's like, "Oh, well, these things aren't covered. And this company isn't participating." What you think that you're getting, it isn't what you get, and I've had to more or less experience that myself as opposed to hearing someone that has gone through it. As I have had issues, Protect My Car has answered the phone and my questions. They've done what needed to be done for me to be satiated. However, they apologize for after the fact as opposed to doing what it took for it not to get that far.
I would really tell people to do their research, and after they do, they should do some more. Before I tell them anything, I would let them know that I have Protect My Car. If they ask me what were my experiences, I would tell them. I would let them know some very pertinent questions to ask, and if the questions that they ask, if what they offer benefits their lifestyle, then I would tell them, "Go ahead." But if what they're looking for and what this company offers, and any company for that matter, if it doesn't give it to them, they don't need to put a penny in lieu of that company because that would be a penny lost.

I took my car in when I got an oil change and Protect My Car paid for it. I love that part. The dealership told me I have a loose sway bar and I asked Protect My Car if it's not clearly broken but the dealership said I will have to change it, would that be something they would cover. The rep went back and talked to her manager. They said that unless it's broken, then it won’t be covered. They were helpful but I don't want to wait until something breaks off. I’d rather take care of it before it ever happens.

When I called Protect My Car about getting my shocks done, they let me know I had to wait, and they didn’t do the shocks. So, I went ahead and had the shocks done then in the following month, the people told me that my steer column started trembling. When I took it to the mechanic at first, he said that I needed a CV joint. We started calling Protect My Car, and it took me two days of hell whether or not they were going to approve for me to get it done.
I went back and got my mechanic audit the auto places that I done been since I had the car and the different things that they had said of what was wrong with my car, but the warranty company kept trying to say that it was preexisting. I said, "It’s not preexisting. It just started trembling like that". They denied me and I had to pay for it to get it done because I can’t drive unsafe with my grandkids. Protect My Car should give me my money back because they’re supposed to have fixed my car. I'm very dissatisfied. Anybody got no reason to be going through all the hell they put me through.
I’m an old woman, and I know there are agencies that you can call to get help. I called the Better Business Bureau to see if they could help me with this situation ’cause I had no idea which way to go or what to do about it. I can’t afford a lawyer right now, but I’m trying to get some help. If I gotta get a lawyer, his bill will be on them too. Protect My Car advertises that they'll fix certain things. I checked, and they said they do fix it then they turned around and told me they weren't gonna fix it. They’ve done a breach of contract.

Protect My Car didn't tell me what coverage I was getting and was not able to help me in a number of cases. My windshield had a leak but they told me it wasn't covered. The tailgate got a motor in it but it wasn't covered too. When I had my oil change done, I didn't have any issues with it but with what I'm paying Protect My Car, I could have gotten my own oil changed and my tailgate would have gotten covered. When Protect My Car sets up people a policy, they also should let them know what's not covered and what is covered by it.

I like Protect My Car. I got my second oil change for free and my tire rotated. Their customer service reps were good. I had called and told them that I will not be able to afford Protect My Car right now because I'm in a bind. I told them that when I got to get myself out of this bind, I’d get them back because I want their service.

I have had Protect My Car for the longest. When it's time to actually get things done it shouldn't be as difficult as it is. It should be specified that you have to go through an inspection then have everything reviewed then approved. While I'm waiting on this whole process I'm having to rent a vehicle to make sure I can manage to and from work. Marta doesn't run everywhere and all they can say is, "The rental that's your problem. If approved we would only pay for 3 days at $30 a day." My car has been in the shop now for 10 days now. I have spent money that I had put up to assure I would make it to and from work and all. Y'all can give me is $90. Car still in shop. Still waiting your call and speak with someone. Half of them are very rude. I thought this was a smart idea for having this protection but it's something to consider looking into before considering coverage because it not all that it seems when they're advertising this company....

I needed the service and everything that Protect My Car told me sounded good, but I canceled them because they weren't helping me on what they said they were gonna help me with. They didn’t refund my money back. The car messed up and they said they were gonna do 50%. They were just giving us the runaround. They should be truthful to what they stand for and stand on what they say.

I’ve done oil changes and repairs. A catalytic converter needed to get changed. I also got some sensors changed out. I just brought the car into the shop, told them I had Protect My Car, and they did the oil change. Protect My Car is a good company and they look out for you.

You can get a warranty from a lot of these people, but when you got a problem, they're not going to help you unless your car is pretty new. If you got an old car, Protect My Car will definitely take you on. They'll pay half and you pay the other half, which is better than paying the whole thing. I had an oil change recently and that went smooth.

Apparently, I'm supposed to be grandfathered in to where I receive paper statements. Because they went straight to just paying online without a reminder of a physical statement that my payment is due. I asked a couple of months back as well, and I would call into where their automated system told me that my payment is past due. And when I signed up, I told them I would like it later. But that wasn't doable.
So, I end up having to pay it a little later, but not because I don't know I have a payment. It's just I don't get a statement. And I am one that has to look at all my statements. I sit down and pay them all off at the same time when I get paid. So, I did request it. They saw it somewhere in there that I was grandfathered in, that I can receive paper statements, and they were going to activate it. I am yet to receive them. So, I’m not happy about that. It would be nice to have a little more detail of what little things that I might be missing that I could be taking it in for that is covered. Most people who are really good with it would understand it more. But I don’t know what portion is or isn’t. I always have to ask.
Other than that, I enjoyed the free oil changes. That part was different from my other warranty. So when I told somebody else about it, they couldn't believe it. Even places where I've taken the vehicle to, and I tell them, “Can you authorize with the insurance because I can get a free oil change?” They're puzzled. “Just give them a call.” I usually take the cars to one or two places only, the actual dealership or an automotive place. They have my information now. It's easy now because I just let them know I'm utilizing my warranty.

Updated on 05/11/2022: Following up on my previous review of this company. I had a repair claim through Protect My Car. It was well over three weeks from the time I took the car in until the time I got it back (see my previous review for those comments). This review is regarding their rental reimbursement. First, people need to be aware of the drastic limitations of their rental car coverage:
1. It only begins after PMC has APPROVED the repair. In my case, that process alone took nine full days, during which time I either had to get a rental, or be without a car. There is NO coverage during this period.2. It only covers $30 per day. In my case, the lowest cost I could find was approximately $450/wk - approximately $65/day. So my cost was more than twice what they offer as reimbursement.
3. It only covers for 7 days. In my case, from the time they approved the claim, the car was STILL down for almost two full weeks. So I had another full week of paying out of my own pocket for a rental car.
So ok. Fine. I'm due a check for $210 (after having paid well over $900 for rental cars). And now, here we go again with Protect My Car's slow customer service: I submitted my documentation on May 31. On APRIL 27 (almost a full month), I finally receive an e-mail indicating "We have processed your reimbursement requests, and a check for $210.00 will be mailed to the address on file." It is now May 11. I just called them - the representative indicated that they STILL have not mailed the check, nor can they give me a time frame when they will do so.
I wouldn't even say people shouldn't use PMC. The coverage, if you have a catastrophic failure (like my car did) can save you thousands. But people need to be aware of the significant limitations of their rental reimbursement coverage, as well as the fact that they are painfully slow in everything they do. My prior review covered their slowness in getting my car repaired; this review is to inform people that even a simple reimbursement check for rental car coverage which I am CLEARLY entitled to takes well over a month for processing.
Original Review: I purchased a Protect My Car policy in November of 2019, on my 2016 Nissan Rogue with (at the time) approximately 93,000 miles on it. Warranty coverage was to be for 100,000 miles (up to 193,000). I've paid $93 per month. On March 7 at 7:00 a.m., I took my car to a mechanic recommended by the warranty company, hearing a grinding noise. At about 11 a.m., I learned that the transmission was bad; they recommended a full replacement. I feel that since that time, Protect My Car has taken every opportunity to drag their feet and delay this process as much as possible. Frankly, I think their ultimate goal is to drag it out until I'm sick of waiting and I just pick up my car and say forget it. Here's what has happened so far:
Monday, March 7 - 11:00 a.m.: Mechanic notified me of the problem. He indicated that they had to wait for an inspection by Protect My Car before they would determine coverage. Tuesday, March 8 - 9:00 a.m.: I called PMC, who informed me that it would take 24-48 hours from when the claim was initially filed for an inspector to arrive. They also indicated I would be receiving an e-mail as to further instructions. Later that day: I called back to inform them I had never received the e-mail, and asked what I needed to do. They informed me to send my maintenance/repair records to an e-mail address. I did so immediately.
Wednesday, March 9 - 9:00 am: I had not received any contact indicating that my e-mail had been received, and had heard nothing else, so I called to check the status. They informed me that my e-mail had been received, but the inspector still had not been at the shop. Wednesday, March 9 - 12:58 pm: Mechanic notified me that the inspector had finally arrived. I called PMC, who indicated that it should take 24 hours for the inspection report to be filed with their company.
Friday, March 11 - approximately noon: After having called several times, they FINALLY indicated that the inspection report had been received. I was informed by the agent that they would immediately notify the adjuster, and that they would be 'getting right on it'. Saturday, March 12 - 1:23 pm: I was informed that the adjuster had reviewed the claim and that now the manager had to review the claim. No decision yet. Monday, March 14 - 2:27 pm: I am sitting here writing this review. STILL no decision.
My car has now been sitting in the shop for a full week. Still no decision from the warranty company. It doesn't seem like it should take this long. Really, seems pretty simple to me: I bought a warranty that covers the transmission. I've done transmission service every 30k as recommended by the Nissan dealer. Through no fault of my own, The transmission has gone south.
Why does it take a full week, with no end in sight, to decide whether this is going to be covered? Makes me think they're just dragging it out, hoping I'll get impatient and say 'forget it'. And other factor: on one of the phone calls, I asked if I could go ahead and authorize repairs to be made, pay for them myself, and then have the warranty company reimburse me. But that wasn't an option either - even though their inspectors have already looked at it, and they have all the information to make a determination of what they're willing to pay, I still have to wait for them to actually make their decision before I do anything. So I'm stuck in limbo, without a car. I either have to have someone drive me to work daily (and be stuck at home the rest of the time), or pay through the nose for a rental. All because they are just taking their sweet old time to make a decision.
Oh, and by the way: they claim their policies cover rental reimbursement. But what they don't tell you when you're signing up is that the rental reimbursement coverage only starts AFTER THEY HAVE APPROVED THE CLAIM. And it's only $30 per day. You try renting a car for $30 - see what happens... VERY frustrated with this whole process. Had I known it would be this difficult, I would not have purchased this warranty.

Protect My Car has been good to me as far as I've been getting oil changes and tire rotations. But I stopped at a Jiffy Lube one time and they were like, "No, we don't do Protect My Car". So, I went to a mechanic here and have my oil changes done. Sometimes the mechanic says it takes them a little while to get them but Protect My Car actually answers the phone. An extended warranty is really good and I like it. Protect My Car saves money in my pocket. I don't have to worry about really coming out of my pocket right on the spot. Sometimes I don't have the money right there to do all these things.

I like the service with Protect My Car because I like the free oil change every six months and I don't have to come out of my pocket with anything. I got zero deductible. I went to get my oil change a couple of months ago and it cost me $200-something because I have a Mercedes and I paid for it. Then, the next week, I thought, "Hold up, wait a minute. I got a free oil change on my warranty." So, all I did was call the warranty people, sent them the receipt, and they sent me a check.

My car is a Mercury Grand Marquis, and it's 18 years old. So, I didn't want to get something that will be too expensive. Protect My Car was able to pay half. But it could be more. And the monthly fee was $70. So, I could live with that. I've used the warranty a couple of times. It has been okay.

Protect My Car was a little more reasonable than the other one. The rep just took my information and said that I could start using it as soon as I sign up. The experience was good. There wasn’t a waiting period if I needed something. My radiator busted, and I had called Protect My Car. And sure enough, I was able to pay my deductible and they were able to help me with the rest.

Protect My Car is okay. I got my oil changed thru them. I called to pay the policy and was wondering if they fix windows. The dude who I was talking to told me no. I told him I was in an accident. He told me he was going to waive my payment for this month. That was very nice of Protect My Car. I'll keep them.

Protect My Car gave me three oil changes a year and roadside assistance. I claimed for a rear seal engine between transmission. Protect My Car told me to just go to the shop and say that I have the warranty and the shop contacted directly to the company and they took care of that. I was very satisfied. The cost was a bit high. However, it was worth it when I did the claim.

Protect My Car told me that I need to start using my free oil changes because that saves me a lot of money. And it did make sense, so I did it. And they told me some different places that they use on a regular basis. I took it to Taylor's which was one of the closest places. As far as the trouble of getting it paid, it was good. Protect My Car did their part.
I'm happy with them as far as them trying to get my refund for my oil changes for the place that I’ve been going for the last year, where I’ve been paying out of pocket. Now, they're trying to work with me on that. But the company that I got the oil change with claimed that they don't keep copies of the records. But the lady reached out to them several times and she called me back to let me know they wouldn’t answer the phone. So, I tried. And the same thing, they told me they didn't keep the records.
There were a couple of times I thought Protect My Car was overcharging me because I don't know if the payments were behind or how it goes. For instance, in November, I made two payments. And on the 27th, when I know my payment is due, they called me back saying that I haven't made a payment. But I said, “I’m never behind because they take it out of my bank account. And I pay on a regular time. Where did the other payment go to? Because I made two payments in the same month.” But they made me understand and I paid anyway. And I'm supposed to be caught up and on schedule. Other than that, it has been a good experience.

When I go get an oil change, there’s only one place that accepts oil change and their line is so long. When I want something done, I want it done. I don’t want to be making an appointment a month in advance. I'm paying for my oil change, which isn't a lot, and I’m paying PMC $98 a month. I'm thinking about dropping them.

My experience with the rep during signup was good. I was looking for regular car insurance, and I'm good with Protect My Car's coverage. At the moment, it's very valuable. I drive a Volkswagen, and if anything happens, I need to know that I'm not having to pay that big cost.

I used it for an oil change once and everything was smooth. I gave the service place my card and they knew what to do. It was a quick process. Also, PMC is not that expensive.

The guy I spoke to was so good and very convincing. He was very professional and explained the product down to the teeth. I used it once and went for an oil change. And when I reached to where I was going, 1-2-3, everything was no problem. Everything was done. If people could afford it, they should get it because they will end up saving. I got a complete oil change with tire rotations, with no out-of-pocket costs. Straight up go for it. Don't waste time telling, “Well, let me think.”

I had an oil cooler repair that needed to be done and it ended up costing $1,200 but I only had to pay 50% of that. The process was good, although the mechanic was ignorant of how it works. It was a bit of a struggle in that way. But other than that, everything's pretty good to me. I tell other people about PMC.

I went with the three main ones out. There’s Protect My Car, Endurance, and another one. I compared all three, and Protect My Car was the best. It's easy to get in contact with someone when I need to. Also, customer service is easy to understand and speaks good English. That's always a good thing. And they've been prompt and timely with everything. I had two things that I needed done on my car, and Protect My Car took care of it right then and there. I was very pleased with them. Luxury cars are more expensive. If something that Protect My Car covered went out on my car, it will cost me upward $500, not including the labor, to have it replaced. So, it's extremely valuable.

When I had a claim, I would give the service place my card number and they would call PMC. Last time, it took PMC quite some time to answer back and get in contact with them but otherwise, the process is fine. I never had any communication with them until I called and told them that I no longer wanted to have the protection. It was kind of difficult to get through at the time and then the rep went on to tell me that I had to pay a $50 cancellation fee. They just drew $94 out of my account, why do I have to pay a cancellation fee? Also, my book pamphlet doesn't say anything about any cancellation fee.
The rep said that she saw in my notes that I had called several times because I had. It was the third time and I thought it was canceled. The rep said that I had activity on the account after I called to cancel so they didn't cancel when I asked them the first time. I saw they were automatically withdrawing out of my bank account and if I got 30 days, why not go get an oil change.

I did some studying and found out that Protect My Car was one that I liked very well. The only thing I used them for was oil change and the tire rotation. Those were great. But my warranty is for 169,000 miles, and I'm almost at that now. I wish they lasted a little longer.

I haven't had to use Protect My Car but once for a fuel pump. It was very easy. I just took the vehicle to the repair shop. They called it in. They got the authorization. They paid for half of the repairs, I paid for the other half. And there was no paperwork. Plus, I get three oil changes and two free tire rotations per year. They offer roadside and free rental. And they also give reimbursement for travel delays. If my car breaks down, they will pay so much for a hotel. So, it was a really good deal. I've been very satisfied with Protect My Car. My daughter just got a new car, which is an older vehicle. I told my her, for the money, it’s worth it.

When I have a claim, the dealership does it all for me. All I do is give them all the papers. Like for an oil change, I don't even sign anything. But there's an AAMCO place that put a starter in, and they wouldn't accept the insurance because the price was under $300. Also, there was an instance when my car was debilitated, and Protect My Car was to send a tow truck out to get it, but they never came. But overall, I'm driving a 2001 automobile and it's comforting to know that major repairs are covered by Protect My Car.

When Protect My Car cold-called me, they didn't say anything disparaging about their competitor. They were very professional on the phone and very patient when I had questions. Their customer service was excellent and my salesman was great. He explained the coverage. When you read the contract, it's super crystal clear what they will and will not cover. If they know you're coming and it's not ready within a certain time, they go ahead and spring for a rental. What I love is they have a transferable warranty. They also take the car higher up in mileage than most providers do. They also offer towing and roadside service. They only offer a couple of times, and after that, it's a prorated charge.
The other thing is I'm a veteran and they gave me a veteran rate. They have never been nasty to me. When I brought it, I had gone my mileage level, and about two months later my little check engine light would pop on and off. I took it right up and called them. I told them I was having trouble with the power window. My mechanic called immediately to find out what was and wasn't covered. To do that power window would have been about 700 bucks between the labor and the parts. I had to pay my 200 and they covered $430 on my window. That's savings right there. I've already gotten one year's worth of my payment.
On my Protect My Car, they also provide me my oil changes. I do full synthetic and they pay for the full change. I called the mechanic the other day to say I was taking it in because of the master sensor. When he did the work on the sensor, I told him we were not going to put Protect My Car through all those little parts that I know they don't cover from having another sensor changed about a year ago. I asked them if they cover CVT and they said yes. I like the fact that Protect My Car has secondary mechanics. If they feel that the mechanic is not going to fix, they're going to recommend where you take it to get the best fix. They have master mechanics that will come to any shop where your car is, if they want to re-check what they're doing to make sure you're not getting hosed by the mechanic. You have a second pair of eyes looking at your vehicle and you know they're going to go for the best repair to maintain the cost.
My mechanics love Protect My Car. They say they're the easiest of everyone to work with. I pay $68 every month to have my premium and pay the $200 deductible. Protect My Car does the parts and labor as long as it's not a wearable part. They encourage you to maintain your car and they do that by offering the oil change. I feel very fortunate that my mechanics feel comfortable calling them. They don't feel that they're going to be put on hold for 50 years. Protect My Car works with the mechanic to see what they can cover and how much. They try to cover as much as possible within reason. Their car information and their folder are very clear and concise. It's very open. They're transparent with the consumer.
I'm a very satisfied customer. Protect My Car is oriented to the customer and to the driver. I told a friend she needed to get Protect My Car and she called them immediately and got them. Another incentive that they offer is for every person you bring them, they offer you a gift card of $100 and they're really good on that. I have gotten five or six people in there. The only thing that I don't like about them is you can't do work on a Sunday.

I had a pretty decent experience signing up with them. I told them my mileage number, how old the car was, and what kind of condition it was in. They also asked if I had any check oil light prior to it. It was pretty easy. But I’m a little dissatisfied because of what happened with my axle. It took a long time to get the part here. It came back wrong three times. But other than that, it’s okay. I'm pretty satisfied. When my alternator had broken down, I got my alternator fixed that day and I wasn't rolling with a whole beaucoup money.

I thought Protect My Car would fix my car. They didn’t. They couldn’t fix it. The people they sent my car to tried to overcharge me on something that I didn't need. They wanted extra money for a new motor. They also said I needed a lot of stuff done, but all I needed was my transmission fixed. They didn’t do anything for me. Before you get Protect My Car, find out the real deal about your car. Because I found out that my mileage would roll back and my mileage wasn’t right.

My experience with PMC was good but overall, it didn't fit my needs and what I was looking for. At first, I was told that if I needed my brakes fixed, the parts will be paid for. But I called again to confirm and they told me it doesn't include the wear and tear on the vehicle and getting the brakes repaired or fixed is considered wear and tear. I did get the free oil change and they fixed my truck, but that was because of a recall. I've called to cancel.

I had only had the coverage for a couple of months when my car acted up. I took the car to the dealership I always take it to and was told I had a cracked pin on my engine. They doubted if the insurance was gonna cover it because my coverage was so new. But I had my $100 deductible and it was a fuel pump and something else that they did not cover. I ended up paying $500 out of pocket for a $5,000 engine. The repair was amazing and I was in total shock. Then, I had another thing happen with the axle and it was like $1,200. They paid it out and I paid out 100 and something dollars. PMC has been amazing. I shout to the rooftop and I've been telling people they need to get this warranty.

Everything was easy, fast and done in a timely manner. I had one claim which was for changing the oil. It took a while for the department to process the payment. The place that I took the car had to wait on the call for an hour. And that was the only little issue. The warranty is a good benefit.

Whatever questions I had, Protect My Car answered them. And the process was smooth. However, there are certain things that aren't covered, like I got my brakes done two weeks ago and I would have liked seeing those covered. So, I would like to see more stuff covered. But go ahead and get your car covered because if it breaks down, you might not have the money to get it fixed, or you might be able to get some of the money but the majority of the fee would fall back on Protect My Car. So, it's just to have security in knowing that if something was to happen to your car, it will get fixed, especially major things like transmissions and engines, and those that you probably wouldn't be able to pay for otherwise. Also, Protect My Car offers perks like roadside service, three free oil changes a year, and all of those things are important for car maintenance. So, sign up.

Before I signed up, I had an issue with my car. But because it was already a preexisting condition, Protect My Car gave me quotes and things of how they would be able to help, so that way I could tell my friends. I went to a dealership and they were trying to charge five times what Protect My Car was offering, so that was what sold me. I ended up paying a percentage. I didn't even have to pay my deductible.
I've actually heard about this company after I had gone through my car insurance. I'd pay my deductible, just 500, but then, they'd also pay for parts and labor to a certain percentage. I wish I'd known them before everything happened because I would have saved over $2,000 alone. They have covered oil changes, brake changes, brake pad changes, alignments, inspections, things that cost so much. They also offer a lot of coverage on parts, as far as regular maintenance to auxiliary parts, AC, and they take the extra step to cover the rest of it in a lot more ways than you would imagine.

Everything is over the phone because they don't have a portal where I can go and check what's the status of my membership or things like that. Sometimes it's kind of difficult if I just want to check something. But other than that, Protect My Car is really flexible. The more mileage a vehicle has, the more difficult it is to get a good extended warranty and my car was 60k but they were totally fine with that. They were not looking for a brand new car. Also, I get a few oil changes, which is a big thing, and it covered most of the parts of the car. It’s a really good warranty.

I use Protect My Car on my oil changes. But I'm gonna have to get the transmission looked at and I need to know what’s the best place to go to. I wish they have a wider network, an accessible list of who and where will accept the vehicle and the coverage.

The gentleman that I spoke with from Protect My Car was so nice in explaining the process and he talked about the different services and things that they offered. He asked me questions about the year, make, and model of my car and said that he would be able to help me with the right plan. It was really good. I have used the free oil changes services. That has been awesome. I'm really good at keeping maintenance on my car but it certainly helps. I usually just go back to the same place for the service every month and it's been really good.
There are some things that are not covered that I've had to pay out of pocket but overall, majority of the things needed for my car has been covered. I've had a couple of claims and I took my car to the dealership and there was an issue where they were saying that I would have to replace the whole engine. So, I called Protect My Car, and they did cover it.

At first, I was a little scared to get Protect My Car, but it has been fine. I've gotten regular oil changes. They fixed the air conditioning in one of my cars. I had to pay 25% of the services. It would have cost me $3,100. I only had to pay about 700. So, they were great.

I've had one oil change since I signed on. The shop wouldn't honor the warranty because they told me that Protect My Car didn't pay. So I had to go somewhere else. The lady that I talked to said she's gonna have a review and have somebody contact the shop about it.

There was one young lady in customer service, Lacey, that was awesome but the experience with Protect My Car was horrible. In October, I never gave any mileage because I didn’t know the mileage on the car. The rep never stated that there had to be a mileage on there but on the title, it was 128,000, w/c was not the full mileage. During that time, my ABS light came on. I spoke to Lacey in November and I was able to get the mileage. It was 129,762 so I drove way over 1,000 miles and within my grace period. I went to get an oil change and did a diagnostic test. But I had to pay for that. They didn't honor what they said they would in the contract at the beginning, so I was already pissed.
When I called the repair place, they said that repairs were denied, that I only drove 26 miles. I worked in customer service and I'm good on taking notes. I was highly upset so I had a yelling match with them and I said that I would call Lacey back. But Lacey was out. She said that Protect My Car sticks to the books. It doesn't make sense that I only drove 26 miles when I purchased the car and the policy in October. I went to a second repair place and got a cheaper price but it was still the same thing because it was up under a different claim number. One gentleman said that I was now a problem customer, which was a red flag to me. They must think I’m a problem customer because I keep calling and checking them about this whole situation. It's a bunch of crap. I was saying that I hope the relationship works, because this is totally the opposite and everything that everybody said about the repair part on the BBB is exactly what it is. And I'm experiencing it for myself.
When I called to cancel the policy, the reps were trying to make me stay with them to give them another chance. I don't like the pressures of sales and I gave them a forewarning many times. I told them to make thia make sense to me and the inconvenience right. The rep said that they paid over 50% of the repairs but they didn't. The repair guy treated me like crap. He said that this was why he didn’t like to deal with these extended warranty things. I said it was not my fault and I was just telling him what I was told. When he got off the phone, he said that Protect My Car denied it a second time. My car was in the shop for over a whole day. I was told to send the receipt of the charges that I had to pay for the diagnostic. I was never reimbursed for any of that.
After going back and forth I asked for the policy to be canceled. The rep's whole attitude changed because he was not getting anywhere with me. He literally slammed the phone in my ear. I gave it a week to make sure the policy was cancelled. I made two payments and I wound up paying more than what I paid for the policy. But the gentleman reimbursed me $50 of it. Still, I'm never referring anybody because it didn't work for me.

I didn't realize I still had a warranty on my car and I got this extended warranty but never used it. Also, I didn't know that once it runs out, after I paid all my money, I don't get anything. I have to start the process back up again. Had I known that, I would have not gotten it until my warranty was absolutely out. If the person whose car they're protecting has not used it, they need to extend the warranty for another at least six months after they finished paying it for the simple fact that they got their money and did nothing with the car. I got to use the free oil change, though.

Today we used the warranty for an oil change. That went smooth. 100% warranty. The only one I had used repairs on is electric. And Protect My Car has been taking care of that. But I hate the fact that I gotta keep on letting them know that I want my date the same for both of my cars. That should have nothing to do with the special plan. If they want the money, it shouldn't be a problem with them having the date that I wanted the money to be drafted out on. So, they need to come up with something better than because it’s a locked-in contract. If they want the money, it shouldn’t matter about a locked-in contract for an agreement. That is what has been getting on my nerves and driving me crazy. Because I hate it when they try to draft something on the day that I told them not to. And I can't stick with that date. I already had a specific date that I wanted it to come out so both cars could come out on the same day. It works out better for me.

When I signed up with Protect My Car, the rep was pleasant. When I locked my keys in my car, they took care of it immediately. I was out in the parking lot in front of Costco and somehow I had lost my keys in my car. I had my cellphone and it had their number and I called them. They got ahold of somebody right away and they took care of it and it didn't cost me anything.

The rep was very generous, patient, and answered all my questions. I had a couple of options. The advertising that I've seen hit the knowledgeable points of the things that I would want my warranty to do. So, it was easy for me to decide to do business with them. Because they offer a couple of things on a warranty that is outside of what my manufacturer would offer, like oil changes which warranties normally don't offer. I let the mechanics know that I had a warranty on them, gave them my policy number and the number to call, and they handled it.

Protect My Car gave me a good deal and threw in the free oil changes. And I was, "Sure. I'll go with you guys." Anytime we needed them, they have answered. My only thing is I wish there was someone available 24/7 that I can get ahold of, but they only have certain hours. I wanted to get an oil changed before work one time, and we couldn't get ahold of anybody. We had to wait until 10 o'clock. The shop asks a lot of questions, but I can't call and just get a quick answer. Other than that, Protect My Car has always been helpful.

I had a claim for an issue with my gas pedal. The service place fixed it and they got the claim through pretty quick. The only thing is PMC is supposed to give some type of credit for getting new people to come on but I haven't received any of them.

The service has been pretty good for the most part. They are very handy when a claim meets the qualifications for coverage. It covers the basic coverages, such as oil and a little maintenance, and it's one of the best, especially in the area of Florida. But for more body work and repairs or more advanced things, people should try to look for something else. But other than that, the reps in the mechanical shop said Protect My Car has very nice and friendly people, which I agree with.

Protect My Car customer service can be a lot better. I got hung up on a couple of times. When I first started, they didn't have my information right. And I had to call twice, because they didn't have my card on file. And when they did have it on file, the money wasn't in there when they went to take it out. Because I already thought that they had it in there.
Protect My Car covered my starter that went out. But I didn't know that they didn't cover the wiring. That was disappointing. Because I'm paying more than what they would pay for it and because the starter is lesser than the harness. They said the harness caused the starter to burn out. So, I got to pay for the harness. Wiring shortages are out, too. I also used them to tow my car, and I had to pay $77. I got to pay 1,100, and a $100 deductible. That's what I got to pay to get my car back. So, Protect My Car has been paying less.

I had Protect My Car for a few years but I canceled it because I wasn't happy with it. I was paying monthly for car repairs but every time I went to get my car repaired, they didn't do anything. I was responsible for my own expenses. I lost thousands of dollars using that service.

I started coverage with this company in December 2020. I covered two vehicles a 2012 Honda Fit and a 2017 Ford Explorer. I sold the Honda in Dec. 2021. In Nov. 2021 I took the car to get a oil change that was covered. But that was the first time I used them (Protect My Car) for anything. Not before I had paid over $700.00 in the program. I only got an oil change. On February 23, 2022 I called the company to find out where do I go to take advantage of a free oil change for my Ford Explorer, they told me Jiffy Lube in Columbia SC. I asked the lady on the phone if Jiffy Lube would come back and tell me that I needed something extra would you cover it. She told me that they only would cover the oil change and tire rotation; anything out side of that is on you. I said that do not seem to be fair because I have been paying into this company since Dec. 2020. She said, "Well get the Jiffy Lube to call." I said okay.
Jiffy Lube called and I needed some windshield wipers and an air filter. They refused to cover the two items outside of the oil change and tire rotation. Needless to say I came home, called them and drop out of the coverage. I only used them for the oil change at that point I had paid Portect My Car over $1100.00 ($77.61 month). The moral of the story is just make a savings account that you would deposit that fee monthly and you would save a lot of money.

My daughter referred me to Protect My Car because they did something good with her. It's been almost a year, and I'm very satisfied with them. I have used Protect My Car, one major time. Something was wrong with the motor. The Car House just asked me if I had a warranty. I showed them my book and card, and they took care of it from there. And it saved me a lot of money then. I just pay a little something for the dealership's internal stuff.

My vehicle is in the shop and some reps said they could help and that we'd get back some of the money. But they were always switching to different reps and they never called me back. They kept telling me to get different stuff and that they'd get it resolved but they just kept on giving me the runaround. They weren't able to do anything for me but they got quite a bit of money from me. I've canceled my warranty because we can't afford to keep paying the $90 and my wife is gonna cancel hers, too. I feel like they got away with taking money from us.

I tried Protect My Car and I like it thus far. The guy that took my information over the phone was good. He explained the warranty to me well, and told me what all it covered. He sent the material out to me. I had to use the warranty back in November and Protect My Car customer service called me back and told me that what was going on with it was a covered part for my warranty. That was good. And I just paid my deductible. I told my daughter-in-law that Protect My Car worked for me. They have done right by me, and I pay my monthly premium.

They did very well with me. They answered me correctly. They take their money right out every month and there's no problem about it. I just had my car fixed a couple of months ago and they did what they had to do. Then, I had another little something they gave me another $250 for, that was taken care of. Everything they did was taken care of attentively. When they had to send me my rebate, they sent that. When they had to pay for the car, they did that. I'm satisfied with Protect My Car.

Everything is okay with Protect My Car. I haven't really done anything but an oil change. I thought when they do the oil change, they rotate the tires, too. The rep said that they don’t do that when they do the oil change. That’s separate.

Protect My Car has been nice to me. I had the oil change. It was easy. Also, I referred my son and he got it on both of his vehicles, so they sent me the $100. And I recently referred them to my mother. She got the plan. So, I called Monday to see what the status was with the reimbursement, when they send the $100, and they told me they were working on it. It would be in the mail shortly. So, everything has been going good so far.

The sign-up with Protect My Car has been good. I've called 'cause I had a battery issue and they've covered it. Three times, they've had to come out and start my car. Hasn't cost me a dime. I get two free oil changes a year, two tire rotations a year and I've accrued all that and I've never had an issue. The only thing, I have a little leak on the top, the radiator hose that comes from the top that goes all through to the motor. I thought that would be covered because it's not just a regular hose. It's a main thing. It's 500 dollars. But they don't cover that, which I can understand because it is rubber and with time just goes in. The only thing I would suggest is when you're paying $100 a month and you have a $200 deductible already, something like that that's $500 or more, I feel that they should still cover. But other than that, they've done everything so far that they said they would do.

The communication of Protect My Car with the shop is not the greatest and it's causing issues because I can't move forward till they move forward. So, until they make their decision on what they're going to do, I can't move forward. The more they drag their feet, the longer the car sits in the shop. The first issue, they covered. When I bought the truck, the instrument cluster, which tells you what the mileage is on the car, was not working. They were saying it has to work before they will cover the transmission.
I'm confused about that because they fixed stuff before without it. Because everything is based on mileage. I was like, "You fixed it before with the mileage that the shop gave you. Now, you're saying you won't fix it until you get that." Then, now they're saying they could send the shop an instrument cluster or the shop could order one and buy one. Then, when I talked to the shop a week ago, they still haven't received anything. They told me rather they guarantee we cover the instrument cluster, but they haven't said anything yet, and I haven't heard back from them yet.

When my car broke down, I called for tow truck but they didn't show up. They had said they would come pick it up. The next morning, when I went there, my car was still in the same place. I had to pick it up myself. When my car had a fuel pump problem, I also called Protect My Car. They paid for some of it, but I had to pay for the rest though they said it’s full coverage. I called but nobody was picking up.

I'm pretty happy with the plan I got. My only issue was I had to wait a thousand miles and 30 days. But I understand that. I used it when I got an oil change and the process was smooth. The guy at the dealership called them and faxed them a copy of the receipt. It was no problem.

I got a brand-new car and I had a problem repairing a cord on the car. It was the drag switch. They said they don't repair that. So, I had to have that fixed on my own. They sent me to a place where I can have it fixed, where they send their people to. They gave me a discount on fixing it.

I've had to use Protect My Car a couple of times, and I never had any real issue. I had to have some mechanical work done on my vehicle, and they took care of it. Everything was good. Shop around and look for the cost. Make sure the plan is gonna cover a lot of stuff. Because some coverages didn't cover as much as I thought that they were going to cover.

They're good. But when I got the Dodge fixed, I got it done at the dealership. What made me mad was because, with the dealerships, a lot of them don't really know about Protect My Car. They have to have somebody from Protect My Car to go talk to within that office when they're busy, to cover a part that they know is covered under the warranty. It's a busy car dealership. They don't have time to take 15 minutes to wait on the phone for somebody to come and talk when they know that part is covered. It's just about talking to Protect My Car and the people there. The lady did it for me because I gave her the specific part number, what the part was, and where it was located at. We saw that it was covered. But the guy who finished the claim, got upset because he was the one that was supposed to talk to them about whatever they needed to talk about. I was like, "Bro, it's covered and this is a legit Dodge dealership. They're not trying to run any gimmicks."

Protect My Car had the best deal. I had CarShield and I had had one service with them and they did what they said they were gonna do, but Protect My Car came and knocked them out of the park when it came to pricing. Protect My Car's customer service is nice. I do three oil changes a year and Protect My Car has been taking care of that.

The rep during signup was very helpful, and he was great. If something breaks down ‘cause something always breaks down on the car, Protect My Car will help pay for whatever cost it was. They told me the certain things that they cover and the certain things they don’t, and they gave me four free oil changes. That really stood out for me ‘cause I drive my car a lot. I use a lot of miles and I need my oil changed regularly. I have a Volkswagen Jetta, so I go to Volkswagen to get my oil changed. Protect My Car gave me the number, then I gave it to Volkswagen. Volkswagen called and talked to them, and everything was handled. That's all I had to do. Overall, Protect My Car is good. They've done everything they said they were gonna do. I have no complaints at all.

I do the basic claim for oil changes and one time, I had an issue and the INFINITI dealer couldn't get through. But when I called Protect My Car, the main office had internet issues, so everything was shut down. My husband decided to pay for the service and bring me the receipt. I submitted that to Protect My Car then I had to call back to verify that they received it or if they were processing my claim. But once I did, everything went through. It took a while to get the check, but I did get the payment. Other than that, I liked the sales rep I talked to at Protect My Car and so far, they've been pretty good.

I had Protect My Car on two vehicles. My first experience wasn't a good one because I drove my car and it conked out on me. When I took it in, they said they weren't going to honor the repair because I was 100 miles short. That was part of the contract and I didn't like it, but I understood it. At that point, I had been paying them for eight months. I asked the rep, "Well, just cancel it and give my money back. I could use that to help pay." He said they don't give refunds.
On my second experience, customer service was fantastic. I had a rod blow on my second vehicle and I took it in. They called and told me what the guy said for them to fix the vehicle and they were approving it. I just had to pay my percentage and it was good to go. They took care of it with no problems, and I'm satisfied. I'm giving Protect My Car a second chance with my other car and see what happens.

The rep was very knowledgeable and explained to me what the warranty covers. He told me it came with transmission, engine and suspension. But it did not cover basic repairs like brakes. Also, they would work with me on all levels especially if I'm having financial difficulty that month. They would figure out a way for me to make the payment. They also do roadside assistance which is very important. Plus if I get an oil change, they would reimburse me.
I had a claim for my fuel pump and I provided the shop with the account number. The shop had to have an estimate before Protect My Car would do anything. They explained to the people what needed to be done and how the transaction would work.

Protect My Car was one of the first things that I saw when I bought my car. When I got it, I just stuck with it. It helps in case anything goes out. Recently I had to get a front wheel added and paid $500 for two tires and I forgot to check if they covered it. But I wish they were ‘cause then I could get all new tires. The thing I don't like is that it takes a long time to get through to someone there. Then when I get ahold of someone, sometimes, they're excellent. Sometimes, some of them are ignorant and don't wanna do what I ask them to do.

When Protect My Car has been very helpful and they have responded to my car needs. But, I'm waiting for reimbursement from a hotel bill that I had last year and that just seems to be up in the wind. That’s the only issue I had with them. Other than that, they've been very responsive. I'm not in the long queue, waiting. And they deal with the auto repair places very quickly. But, I like like an online account so that I could see that they received my information and I can see what was paid and what wasn't.

My car was jerking. So, I took it in and the dealership kept my car for six days. Protect My Car explained to me that they are low on staff and that's the reason why it took a long time. But I dropped my car off on Thursday and I just picked it up today. That was six days with no car, which is difficult. Also, I wish Protect My Car covered 100%. Other than that, the quality of service is decent.

The rep took care of everything. He was very nice and every question that I had for him, he answered it for me without leaving a question mark in my head. I have had oil changes and tire rotations and it was good. I don't have any complaints with Protect My Car and as a matter of fact, I got another car on with them now. I love Protect My Car's services. Getting it is the best thing I've ever done. I had a claim for an oil change and the process was easy. I gave the dealer the card. But when the car was ready, they told me my fee would be 100 and some dollars. And I was like, “Did they call? I have insurance on the car." So, they had to call back the salesperson. When they hung up, the dealer said, “Oh, okay. You don’t have a balance.”

I've had Protect My Car for two years and it is a nightmare. The person they send out to the mechanic, both times, argued, fought and ignored what the mechanic told them that needed to be done with the car. I got all this from the mechanic and, back and forth. I almost had to fight every single time just to get repairs done. And when I have spoken to Protect My Car's agents, they tried to tell me, "Please don't cancel it. You're actually saving so much money. You got this done." But $6,000 to $8,000 is not money that I can just pull out from anywhere. And it's not worth me having this knowing that they are very nitpicky and the person apparently who they send out to speak to the mechanics has not been a mechanic himself for the last 10 years, and they treat the people that I've been working with like dirt.
Outside looking in, it might be a good service, but all they really care about are the rewards. They don't care about protecting anything on the vehicle. It should not be up to me as a consumer to argue with not only the person at the level of customer service as well as my mechanics who I trust fully to argue with Protect My Car's representatives who don't want to do anything to help take care of the car unless I threaten to not deal with them anymore, then they would say, "Okay, okay, we'll cover your car." That's not good customer service. This is very frustrating. I have decided that I do not want to continue with Protect My Car.

They have a reliable policy. It covers everything in my car. But they're in the East Coast time, so making a claim is a little bit difficult because the 5:00 time over here is when I don't have access to making a claim. There could be a way to make a claim after hours.

I asked the people at Protect My Car not to take any money out of my account for the first of the month but they want to take it out on the day they want to take it out and they keep causing me overdraft on my banking account. If they keep doing that, I’m just gonna cancel Protect My Car and take my money back. Other than that, it’s been pretty good so far. I used them when I had a tire rotation and an oil change. They contacted the shop that I wanted the work done and then they were aware that I was coming. They treated me very nicely and Protect My Car paid it out. As my car gets older, I'm sure I'm going to have problems with it and Protect My Car will be there where I won’t have to come out of pocket with huge amounts of money.

The customer service was great with Protect My Car but they don’t do maintenance service. I’ve got a brand-new car and sometimes, you want to go in and get your fluids changed or have them checked, and they don’t cover that. So, I'm paying $100 a month just to change oil because there's nothing else I get from it. The last time, I had trouble at the place I took the car to. I was there for over two hours trying to get my oil change. It took me about an hour on the phone. I was trying to explain it to Protect My Car and I couldn’t get the reference number. It was bad.

If you never get into an accident but things are messed up with your vehicle, that's an out-of-pocket cost and with PMC, I like the fact that they will handle repairs outside of an accident. What sold me was the 25% parts and labor costs. The rep I talked to gave me a generalized summary of the company and what they offer, what they entail, the person that benefits different packages, and coverages that were available. He was really cool and extremely knowledgeable. I told him about my vehicle and exactly the type of coverage I was looking for and that's when he sent me over the Platinum package. I'm satisfied so far.

Signing up with them was very easy. The policy covers my oil changes, and I was surprised it covered synthetic oil changes. I've used Protect My Car for that and it was for free. I go to Jiffy Lube for the oil changes all the time because it's very easy. But other places would say they never heard of Protect My Car. I told them that they just need to call Protect My Car and they'll cove the work. But there was one garage I dealt with that refused to call them and said, "Well, they better call us. We're not calling them." That was when I called Protect My Car and they told me that they use Jiffy Lube and that they're in with the contract. So I go to Jiffy Lube now. My mechanic will also use Protect My Car. He said he's never done it before, but he's willing to try for me when I need something done.

Protect My Car has helped me a lot with worrying about being caught in a last-minute repair and not having the funds at that moment. When I needed work to be done, it was right there and then. Certain things came out of pocket but the rep explained that to me when we did the enrollment.

I had an oil change. The process with Protect My Car was fairly smooth. Given my deductible is set to zero, the provider had questioned that it may not be covered. But I called the support and they assured me that it was, and it went just fine.

My truck is old so the mileage is way past my manufacturer's warranty. I went with CarShield, but what they offered was lubricated parts on the vehicle and they charged me the same price for the best coverage they had that would cover everything on somebody else's vehicle. I used it for a little bit but I figured it was just a waste of money and for some coverage. I was looking online and then I saw Protect My Car and I decided to try it out. For my truck, which is over 10 years old and has over 246,000 miles on it, they still cover everything that has gone wrong with it, so I've been very happy with them since then.
When I go to a mechanic, before they do a diagnostic on it, and then they let me know whatever it's gonna cost, then I give them the information for the company, and they call them. Of course, they ask the mechanic's information for the truck. After everything’s said and done and they okay it, they give me a call to let me know what my portion is, and they're gonna cover their portion, and I cover mine.
The one thing that I experienced was that there was a part on the truck that was not routine maintenance and the person said that it was not covered. I read over my policy and I called back. I explained that whoever’s told the mechanic that it wasn't covered was wrong. The guy had to research what I was talking about. He apologized on behalf of the other person and that's what got fixed.
The only thing was that when I was trying to get the door handles fixed on my Nissan, they didn't accept it ‘cause it wasn't covered. It was considered as cosmetic. They didn't call me about it. I’ll appreciate it if when I take my car to a mechanic and it’s something not covered, they should at least give me a courtesy call about it. But whatever they covered, they covered. I recommended it to my mother and she uses it too.

I figured if my car breaks down, Protect My Car can pay even though I pay every month. I've had my truck serviced a couple times and told the dealer who my warranty provider was. They called them, and everything got paid.

I’m satisfied with the experience with Protect My Car. I got work done on both cars. They did the winterization then, changed the oil. But we have the three lights on and the part is on backorder till March so I haven’t been able to get that done. I didn’t like that Protect My Car had to take apart all the brakes and they didn't want to pay that. They said that it wasn’t covered. But if I was coming in to get that done, it's not covered. But as part of their repair, it should be covered. The guy finally said they would pay it.

I had my warranty since May of 2021 and everything went smooth until I requested my Tranmission be rebuilt after taking it to a Transmission specialist in the Bronx. This Warranty company left me with almost 4,000 in repairs. They will take your money every month and when you need a major repair done they will use stall tactics. Protectmycar is a scam. They will request service records after your car is in the shop in need of repair instead of asking for these records when you initially enroll with this Warranty. My best advise is to protectyourself from this scam company!

We understand your frustrations; however, Protect My Car does not mislead customers or engage in unethical business practices. Our apologies if you found your experience with Protect My Car to be unsatisfactory, as we strive to provide the best service in the industry. Upon reviewing your account, our records indicate that you began coverage on May 12, 2021, and your documents were emailed and mailed out, in hard copy, on May 17, 2021. It is the consumers' responsibility to review the policy documents provided during the 30 day review period. In YOUR policy booklet, on page 14, exclusion 5 states: "If the CONTRACTHOLDER cannot provide to US, the ADMINISTRATOR, accurate/verifiable maintenance records proving that the VEHICLE has been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule as outline in the VEHICLE’S owner’s manual (i.e., Oil Changes, Transmission Service, Fluid Exchanges, etc.)." We would be more than happy to consider reinstating your policy and reviewing your claim again if you are able to provide the requested service records. I purchased a used vehicle and I just wanted some additional coverage. I already had a vehicle covered through Protect My Car before and they worked out a really good deal with me and that was why I went with it this time. I've got the policy back in October 2019 and they said that I had to do 30 days and put 1,000 miles on the car, which I did. At the end of December, my vehicle check engine light came on. I stay in the country and I explained that to the man before I took it up to the dealership, ‘cause tow trucks and stuff like that don’t come out this way.
When I took it up to the dealer, they did a check. While I was at the dealership, one of the claim adjusters, Justin, called me from Protect My Car and he was opening up the claim while I was there after I've dropped my vehicle off. Later on that evening, the serviceman called me from the dealership and told me that my Cadillac converters were gone, and they were saying something about my transmission. When he and Protect My Car had a conversation, they said something for one of their third-party people to come out to check to make sure it was my Cadillac converters and my transmission.
The guy, Jason, who was the supervisor, tried to help as he said he was. I gave him a good rating because he went over and beyond. But the next day, he dropped the news saying they didn't approve my vehicle. At first, it was because they showed that I took it to the shop sometime in October to get it serviced. Well, I didn't do that. What happened was I went to where I get my oil change at and get my invoices there because it's an oil change place where I could send it to Protect My Car to get refunded for my oil changes, that was why it was showing in there.
They also showed an estimate and they never even put the accurate miles in there. They had me down for 70,000 miles where when I purchased the vehicle back in August 2019, I had 80 some thousand miles. I got my paperwork and Bill of Sale stating that it was at 80 some thousand miles, so I knew that wasn't true, but that was one of the reasons why they said they denied it. After that, he changed the thing and said that it was something with I didn't use their tow company. But the thing that was so crazy was I was just having to walk into the car dealership and they didn't even reach out to the car dealership. I told them that he was on the phone that Protect My Car denied the claim. They said they heard nothing from Protect My Car. At the end of the day, I was supposed to have been covered and they should have been fixing my vehicle. It was just coming up with a lot of excuses.
I went off on them on that last thing on Better Business Bureau. Then they told the Better Business Bureau all these lies about I slandered their name and went back and forth with them. Every call that they had with me, I was cussing no one out. I canceled my policy with both vehicles. It was just a lot of miscommunication, not holding their end of the bargain, and lying.
I'm gonna take them to small claims court. That's my next step because I also had documentation that my vehicle has always been serviced. I've never been late on oil changes. Then when they sent a third-party person to come in to inspect the vehicle, the service manager from the dealership said that the person did not start the vehicle. Also, a couple of pictures they sent over didn't even look like my vehicle. When I went online to look at their reviews on the Better Business Bureau, they have been doing people the same way, taking pictures and it wasn’t the people's vehicles. Then mine was in a shop for over a month. It was just terrible service. I wouldn't recommend anybody to go to them.

Protect My Car is the only one that would give me a contract. Most of the other companies stop at 150,000 miles. My car had over 200,000 miles, and Protect My Car is gonna protect it for four years. Their rep was helpful. It's just that for the first two months, they billed me at the wrong time of the month and I was getting fed up with it. That made a negative balance in my checking account. I told them I couldn't have anything taken out until about the third Wednesday. We worked it out so it would be about the 20th of every month because I only get paid once a month. It took them about three times to get that right. I've had my oil changed through Protect My Car. I have a card that gets my tires rotated every other time I have the oil changed. What makes having the warranty good is I pay a quarter of what the bill is. If your vehicle is over 200,000 miles, get Protect My Car because it would help you in the long run.

The first time I interacted with one of the agents, that person was not nice. I was about to cancel the service but another person called me not to cancel. Then, I decided to keep the warranty. Protect My Car gives me three oil changes for the year. So far, I've had the oil changed twice.

Protect My Car was advertised and when I heard about the benefits then went on the website, I talked to my husband about it. I thought it was a good thing, especially for the near future. I had tons of questions and the representative answered those. I called Protect My Car as my car wasn’t starting due to the battery. But I ended up calling them back and telling them not to come anymore. I also got an oil change and it was straightforward. Some places aren't familiar with this warranty. But once I give them my card and they call Protect My Car, it works out smoothly. They don’t ask me any questions afterward. I just wish to have more oil changes. It appears that I need more of that than the normal driver.

The guy I talked to did a great job. He sold me and the signup wasn't that hard. It's good to have a warranty. Things you don't have to spend so much money on, you spend less. I got my car at the shop so they could do a diagnostic because the places I took it to, it seemed like nobody could figure out why it does what it does. I took it back to the place I got the car from and hopefully they can tell me exactly what's wrong with it. Protect My Car helped me out a lot and they're doing what they can. We had an auto warranty before and it wasn't very good. We had a $100 deductible and we couldn't afford that. We have a family member that had Protect My Car and he recommended it. So far, it's been good. We had oil changes. Then last year, the jeep was having a mechanical problem, and they recommended to put it in the shop, so my husband took it back to the dealer shop. Now, the dealer shop was the problem. My husband waited two hours just to get into the place and once he got there, the supervisor had an attitude, so the lady on the phone said that if he wasn't satisfied there, she recommended another place to go.

I got this coverage for the older car and my daughter was gonna be driving it. When she had to do roadside assistance the very first time for the battery, that experience was good. When she got the oil changed, that was good as well, although it took forever for Protect My Car to send the check. However, when she went to get something done with the air conditioning, they denied the claim saying it was a pre-existing condition. I told them that was already fixed from the previous accident. The guy was nice and all, but I told him, "How you gonna do something from that long ago with something that's just breaking down now?" Then they gave Jiffy Lube the runaround for about a good four hours. They were great for the minor stuff, but they didn't want to pay for the major stuff. Since they denied the one problem, we've been scared to use them again.

I did an oil change last month and it went okay but the wait time was two and a half hours. The people had to call Protect My Car and they were waiting on approval. I don't have it anymore. I just liked the convenience of paying 25% for the covered parts.

I had two policies with Protect My Car, but when my car broke down, they didn't honor it. I ended up paying $1,100. The dealership said I had problems with my transmission, and they explained it to Protect My Car. The rep called me after a day or so and told me they don't cover that. I don't like that because it doesn't seem right. What I'm reading and they're just reading something and understanding it different. It's not plain.
On the commercial, it says they take care of transmissions, the engines, but I didn't see that. It says it on the paper too, but I don't know why I got it. I took the car to where I was supposed to take it, but they didn't fix it and I said I was through with that. Protect My Car said something about wear and tear, and I'm dissatisfied. I don't know if I could try them a second time. Maybe I'm just not understanding the language, but I wouldn't recommend them. I'm just here now stuck and I don't have any other extended warranty.

Twice I called Protect My Car from the dealer and they were able to provide what they committed to. One was for an oil change, which I was told was free. The other one was there were other issues with the brake pads and they covered the brake pad replacements. Generally, the service has been good both times. They were reachable and available. Currently though, I'm paying $180 per month, the last one year, and I need to see whether it is cost-effective from my side to continue with this warranty or not because I don't use my car much nowadays with the COVID situation. I also don’t like the bullying marketing.

I had Protect My Car before and I was only paying a little bit a month and it was really good to me so I decided to stay with them. But I lost it for a little while, and then I got it back. I'm kind of upset because had I not let them go, I would have still had the same cheap plan even with my new car. Now that I got it back, my plan costs a lot more. Nonetheless, they've been helping me with my car bills and they've been cheaper.

I recently had the radiator repaired and it took Protect My Car a little bit because they had to do an inspection for the first time. After that, it took a day or so to fix it. But the only deal is instead of a flat out deductible, it’s the 25% on the thing. I've never known that. I always thought it would have been just a flat out deductible. Another thing was that they said my rims weren’t factory build, but that was what was on the car when I got it.

About a month after I signed up for services, my car was acting up and making a weird noise. I took it to the dealer and they told me that it needed a transmission. But one thing that Protect My Car gave me a hassle was to make sure that I'd give them all my service records. They were probably a little bit leery of me just paying them 80 bucks and then now they have to come out of their pocket 5,000. But they did good and they paid for my transmission. I would recommend them.

I did an oil change over at the dealer. Protect My Car covers only the oil, which is about $100-plus, but given that it's a Mercedes Benz, it goes by code and the code comes in multiple functions. They didn't cover the rest of it so I had to take a loan that was enough for me to pay for the rest of it for the job and ended up spending 600.

I wanted my suspension, my motor and trans, and the computer to be covered. The representative told me there were different packages. When I told her the type of car I had, the low mileage on it, we just went to the premium package. I just had one pre-existing condition on the car, and that was the air conditioning in there that went out. Before I got the insurance, I got the car checked at Pep Boys and they said that it was one of the problems with my car. After I got the coverage, I took it back. The mechanic put in the request for Protect My Car to pay for certain things, and when he put the air conditioning in his request, they wouldn’t fix that, but they offered me a way where I could get it fixed cheaper. They have lived up to what they said they were gonna do.

Protect My Car is $32 higher than the other company I went with for my truck. It was only $100 deductible with that company. But Protect My Car wouldn't cover my truck. So, I'm getting ripped off. But I did get my oil changed and they paid for it. If I have a break down or have a flat tire, they'll fix it. So, that's kind of comforting.

I have Protect My Car. The claim I had with them was successful thus far and I had no problem with them paying what they're supposed to pay for my vehicle to be re-fixed. In the near future, I hope they’ll come down on the price for me for the year and model of the vehicle that I have.

I tried to do a claim but they didn't cover that one small part that was needed. That kinda upset me. I was disappointed about that. But it went pretty good when I used them for oil change.

I’m paying all this money a month and Protect My Car doesn’t cover anything. It’s horrible. I’m about to discontinue them very soon. I have multiple vehicles and I want to be covered. I thought that Protect My Car was a good choice to make, but I felt like I chose the wrong warranty company to go with. One customer service rep lied to me and told me it was one thing when it wasn’t. He was a little misinformed or he wasn't that much knowledgeable on certain things. Protect My Car covers nothing. I tried to make a claim when I went to the Cadillac dealership. It didn’t cover anything. Then I took the Range Rover. It covered one thing for it. I’m about to drop them. I’m just giving money and I’m not receiving anything in return.

Protect My Car management takes all such statements seriously and completed a thorough review of your account. Your coverage plan has a detailed, specific list of covered components and items. It also includes information regarding non-covered items: All Parts not specifically listed under the COVERED PARTS section are not covered under this CONTRACT. Furthermore, normal maintenance items and repairs are not covered (unless otherwise specified). According to your shop, your vehicle needed a wiring harness connector kit, a knock sensor, a neutral safety switch, and a gas cap, none of which are listed under your COVERED PARTS section. I had a tire changed through Protect My Car. They said everything after 80, I will have to pay. I also had a claim for an oil change. It was good. I just wish there are more places where you could get serviced at but other than that, it’s good.

Protect My Car is a wonderful company. When they tell that the car's covered from this part to this part and that you get free oil changes, those are the truth. They stick to their word. They helped when I had a claim. I just had to pay my deductible and everything else was okay. I enjoy them and I refer people to them all the time.

Protect My Car offered me a good deal. The reps were helpful and answered all my questions. Also, they came through with the free oil changes and tire rotations. They've covered it all. I was satisfied until I read a few of the stipulations. I got to follow the manufacturer’s book on changing the oils and everything. If it says change the transmission fluid or have the radiator flush, just at 100,000 miles, I have to do that. But I have to do that at a dealer.

The reps were helpful. But there were a couple of times that Protect My Car didn't honor what I was doing because I didn't call them and let them know what I was doing. That's wrong because I needed my vehicle to go back and forth to work.

I was very pleased with the normal wear and tear maintenance. The oil changes, that was cool. Electrical problems that I might encounter, Protect My Car covered that. It's just that I wasn't financially able to pay because I got two cars and my wife has a car. At the time, I thought I could afford it, but I really couldn't. I knew I had to pay something, but I knew everything wasn't going to be free. But it's cheaper than what I'll be paying by myself without them. So, that was good. They save me a lot of money. And now, with the weather being bad and the streets being messed up and having potholes, it does come in handy to have that, something like roadside assistance. You never know when you're going to have an emergency and run out of cash, and you got to get to work, you need your vehicle, and they're right there for you.

It's going two years now since I purchased my warranty and I paid every month. I got an oil change when I first got the warranty. The shop called and made sure that the claim was approved. Protect My Car came back and told me everything was approved and everything worked out perfectly. If I have service done on my car, Protect My Car is gonna grant my service and get it done. I will have no issue.
When looking for extended coverage, check the coverage that they offer you, anything with the transmission, motor, or brakes. Our electronic problems like the windows are good. You pay monthly and Protect My Car will service something. I'm telling my daughter when she gets her car to join with them because it's good coverage. You got the rental car coverage, you got to pay your deductible, and you're good to roll. You don't need to pay out $5,000 to fix your car. Those rental cars are $210 for seven days and you can rent a car for a day. You have to keep your car that long. That's your max pay and you can get reimbursed back. The whole deal ends up 400 or maybe $500. You have that for your car when something happens.

I filed a claim for my heat and brakes, and both went through good. If a car breaks down, I still have a deductible but the warranty helps.

I love the service. They help out with big problems. The only thing that I didn't like is that for the warranty, you have to take it back to the same shop that fixed it. I used the warranty back in the summertime for suspension work. I had to pay half of whatever the shop charged me.

I called Protect My Car because of a starter. The next time I called was after my car broke down. I was out of town and right before I got to a bridge, my car came to a complete stop. The first mechanic said that it was my engine. I had to overhaul my engine so I was thinking it was going to be big bucks. I took it to a Kia dealership and they said it was not the engine but the starter. That was a relief. I called Protect My Car and they said I was covered. I ended up paying 56 bucks and that was great. On those two occasions that I had to call, Protect My Car came through like a champ. They were very fast and professional. My experience has been very positive. I hope that if the car breaks down again, I have the same experience I had the last time.

Protect My Car disappointed me completely. They come up with a flimsy excuse and put me into a heavy burden of debt. They promised me all kinds of things, and it never was true. They said anything is covered and that they covered the engine transmission and a number of things. I had a claim for the engine but they sent an inspector who lied that I never did an oil change which was not true. They said they were not responsible and they will not fix my car. I had to take a loan that is killing me from my retirement. I’m working to pay back the loan.

Protect My Car management team takes all such statements seriously, so a thorough review of your account was completed. You began coverage on 8/12/21 under our Ambassador Platinum plan with a 25% deductible. On 11/16/21, your vehicle was towed to your repair facility after over-heating, in need of an engine replacement. As we do with every major claim, Protect My Car requested a 3rd-party inspection to confirm the shop's diagnostic. We also asked that you provide service records for the previous 12 months. The inspector found that your timing cover gasket had an active leak dripping down the engine onto the alternator, which caused your drive belt to slip off. The inspector did not say you did not change your oil, but rather the shop stated the oil was low, and there was no oil on the dipstick when the vehicle came into the shop. Due to these factors and that the vehicle was still driven after the belt broke, we were not able to approve your claim. We apologize for any inconvenience, and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact Customer Loyalty. We regret not being able to keep you as a valued customer.

My system went out and I need to use Protect My Car. I used them for an oil change and that went all right. It's just hard to get them on the phone from time to time. My air conditioner went out early when I first got the warranty and I took it to a company. Protect My Car paid part of the cost and I paid the rest. On the whole, I like the warranty being there when I need it.
