Montway Auto Transport Reviews

I moved and needed to ship a 2010 Dodge Challenger from the East Coast to the West Coast. I looked at about 10 companies and I went with Montway for the urgency of their response and the price. The quote was reasonable for that many miles. The reps were very clear and detailed. Everything was very smooth and the driver was also amazing. He stayed in communication and notified me. He kept calling me with different time windows, from multiple hours down to even half an hour until he arrived. He pulled right in. Even though he had issues with a car because the battery died and he couldn't start it up to get my vehicle off, he was able to get it situated. He put the car in neutral, got it off and got my vehicle off safely without rushing. He was very nice. He even jumped the car because the battery was bad. So, from pick-up and upon drop-off, he had to jump it.

I got a place in Florida I go back and forth to, and I got my car shipped there. I did the quote online first to see what the price would be. After that, either Montway contacted me or I contacted them. When I originally chose them, I went online and googled the car transports and they popped up. They had good reviews. I used them and it was very successful, so I've used them every time since then. The transport would be scheduled to take four days, and sometimes I need an extra day, and they seemed to accommodate well. The driver couldn't pick up on my street because a big tractor-trailer has a problem there. So, I meet them a couple of miles away in a big open area that I designate. And the same in Florida.

My daughter's in college and she needed a car. Montway was recommended to me for the transport and my experience setting it up was wonderful. I called them, talked to a representative and got a quote. It was easy, convenient and quick. They were responsive as well. They worked with me when I had to put my order on hold 'cause I wasn't sure I was going to do it or not. But they came back and followed up.

Montway was in the Better Business Bureau and that was one of the criteria that I looked at. My daughter was moving to Georgia on one way, and on the way back, she was moving from Georgia. We used Montway on both moves. The first time, it was from Elk Grove, California, to Buford, Georgia, and they got it within seven days. We had good service from the first time but on the move from Georgia, we had selected another company who was less expensive because Montway's price was pretty high. But that company failed to show up on the day that they were supposed to. We called Montway, and they were able to come the very next day, get the car and store it until they were able to get a shipper to ship it out. That customer service alone was excellent.

I needed to move a car I had down to a dealership I was trading it in to because I didn't want to drive it that far. I searched on the internet and found a number of transport companies, looked through them, and finally called Montway. They seemed very reliable. Also, I needed to get it done the next day and they are the ones that could do it the next day as well. My transport organizer was great. He walked me through everything. It was the first time I'd ever had to have a vehicle transported. He realized I'd never done this before and went into great detail about how he selected the transporter. I was impressed with the follow-up. I was even more impressed with the transporter himself, the one that came that get the car.

I contracted Montway to move my daughter's car from California to Boston. I gave them a 1 week window from the time of making or developing a contract (3 weeks prior) to pick up with a hard stop day that the car had to be in Boston. Montway then up sold me from a open trailer to a enclosed trailer but I figured the extra $850 was worth it since the car is in perfect condition. The window came and went with absolutely NO communication on their end. I had to make over 3 calls a day for a week now only to get escalated to a supervisor that doesn't exist. I've had 2 supervisor request and still nothing.

I used Montway Auto Transport last year to take the car from Arizona to New Jersey. I booked over the phone. They were fine. However, the car was supposed to be here on a Sunday, but it didn't get here until Wednesday. I paid less because Montway was late by a couple of days.

I hired Montway Auto Transport to ship my vehicle from Longmont, Colorado to Harlingen, Texas. The experience was extremely poor and completely unacceptable. On the scheduled pickup day, someone arrived and took my car. Shortly after, I received an email from Montway stating a driver would come around 3:00 p.m. Another person then showed up at 11:00 a.m. When I called Montway, their staff had no idea who had my vehicle and told me to contact a different company. It took me roughly two hours of repeated phone calls going back and forth before it was confirmed that the person who took the car was actually Montway’s own assigned driver.

Montway Auto Transport is a total scam. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. We contracted to have a car transferred from California back to the Midwest. We booked over two months in advance. Montway gave us a fiveday window in which they were going to pick up the car. We had a certain date the car had to be picked by. They gave us a five day window prior to the target ate.

I asked my parents how they shipped my sister's car out here, and they told me about Montway. I used them and my experience was chill. They communicated really well and got my car here. I didn't really have any issues with my vehicle when it got here. So, it was good. The driver texted me whenever my car was there, sent me the necessary links, and we went from there.

Use Montway Auto Transport because they're very good and honest people, and they work with you. They stay in touch so they're easy to contact. It's my second time using them, and I've not had not one issue with them. They're amazing. Setting up the transport was as easy as it could be. The car was traveling from Baltimore, Maryland, to Chicago, and Montway said it would take three days. It took exactly three days. The quote was the exact price.

I've used Montway many times, each time it got worse. Now it got so bad that the public has to be made aware. The right hand doesn't know (or care) what the left hand is doing. They are incompetent and should avoided. They picked up car in Florida on July13th.... The truck broke down and the truck with my car ended up 2 hours north of where it was picked up. It laid there for 7 days. They promised quick action but it took 7 days for Montway (a trucking company!) to find another truck. Incorrect or inadequate communication. Promises to call the next day were made by SUPERVISORS ("to call the next day") never happened. Due to this foul up, supervisor promises of discount were made (which I didn't ask for ... but deserved) never happened. VERY AGGRAVATING - FRUSTRATING - TIME CONSUMING. AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH MONTWAY.

I have a friend who is a car dealer and he introduced me to Montway. They have a good reputation, so he's been using them for years, and I called them. The customer service was very supportive in every way. I shipped a 2019 Dodge Caravan close to 200 miles and I'm very satisfied. I met the driver at the delivery site and he was very good and professional. We had some challenges with the shop where he had to deliver the vehicle, but he still managed to bring it in. The quote was very competitive and accurate. I normally don't like to give people 100%, and it’s hard for me to give someone a 5-star rating, even though I'm very happy with the service. But I will give CarShield a 5-star rating. They did a very good job.

Our moving company gave me a price to transport my vehicle, then the guy said he would suggest me getting a price on my own from a carrier, and he gave me Montway's name. I schedule a transport, and they gave me a time frame, then it was getting close to the end of that time frame. I was going to be leaving town, and I needed to find somebody to coordinate the transport, getting it loaded. So, I called them, and they said they'd call me back. They called back an hour later and said, "We'll be there this afternoon." It would have been nice to have a little more heads-up, but I understand that's the nature of the business.

I would rate Montway the highest, the best, and excellent service. Everything was great. The driver was very good, and everything was done well.

I was about to purchase an Aston Martin, and I went on the internet and started looking. A number of different transport companies contacted me and after they did, I did some research. Montway seemed to be the most reliable and had the best reviews. I contacted them and the gentleman was full of information and told me all the things that I wanted to hear. I went with him and later that week, I bought a Bentley and contacted him again. He immediately responded and told me he'd take care of it, and he did. It couldn't have been any better. The cost was probably about in line with the other companies, maybe a little less.

My kids go to school at Northwestern in Chicago and I used Montway to transport their cars to our home. A friend of mine used them, so we decided to hire them. Setting up the transport was very easy. One of cars was scheduled to be picked up at a set time and day, while the other one was within five days' pickup. Both were fine. The one with the random pickup day, we got switched to different carriers several times and that was a little frustrating. For both vehicle transports, we were told a little last minute when the person was arriving, so that wasn't ideal. But otherwise, our experience was very good. I would advise anybody thinking of using Montway's services that they should make sure they're flexible on the day of pickup. Other than that, the cost for the transport with the set pickup date was a little high. But the price of the flexible one was very reasonable.

I shipped three vehicles through Montway, and they were all good experiences. The quote that I received was good and the price was fair. It was the going rate to bring a vehicle from the West Coast to Hawaii. The pick-up and delivery were easy. I had one vehicle that had an issue with Montway not putting my name down as a co-signee and we ended up having to contact them. I sat at the pier for a little while for all that to get situated, but that was the only hiccup and that was only on one vehicle.

I found Montway online, and I used it to transport my car when I moved back to Dallas. Then when I finished, I used the same company. Setting up the transport was excellent. I liked that I didn't have to be calling people every five minutes. I didn't have to struggle too much for doing anything and I had peace of mind that I didn't have to worry about anything. They picked up and delivered my car on time. My car was pristine.

The people who delivered my car and picked it up were so nice to me. Unfortunately, the paper stuff was done wrong. We set up the move over the phone, and I thought I gave the all the description of the car. When the car was put on the van, they couldn't find my car because it's a hatchback and they were looking for a sedan. So, there was confusion there. And Montway Auto Transport said, "You owe us more money.” I don't know if I would have taken it if it was too much money. It was written down wrong. The car was a hatchback, not a sedan. That should have been seen on my records, that I had used them before. That should have been taken care of before they took it and I paid the money.

I googled Montway and they seem to have good reviews. I went with them to ship an SUV from Florida to St. Louis which was almost 1,000 miles. I've used them for about three different times now. I went with them initially for the price but the fact that I'd done business with them and they were reliable about getting the truck to its destination made me go back to them again. But in one year, the price went up because once you got closer to the pick-up date, the truckers were charging more. Also, the price keeps going up because the price of gasoline keeps going up too. But the drivers were fine and there were no damages to the vehicle. Montway's customer service is responsive as well.

Everything seemed legit until the carrier company came to pick up the car. They wouldn't provide an ID and when I talked to them, they sounded like from Eastern Europe descent. This made me think they were there to steal my car not transport it. Upon requesting a refund, Montway charged me $250. I think this charge of $250 is their primary business. They do not intend to ship any cars.

I needed to ship my kid's car back across the country. It was from Florida to California. I used Montway. The vehicle got there a little earlier than expected. The original quote and the final cost of the service were the same.

Years ago, I was buying and selling old cars. A friend of mine told me about Montway and I've used them ever since. I've only had an issue once, but it wasn't a big issue and I will continue using them. I like the quality of the people who come here to pick it up. They're very informative. Recently, they picked up a vehicle for me in Hernando, Florida, then they dropped off in North Carolina. A couple times I wasn't satisfied with the price they gave me, but this last time the price was reasonable. The one before that, they charged me $1,000 and it upset me. But I needed it done. For the recent transport, they picked it up the next day after I called. The driver came in here with a three-car hauler and there's enough room where I live, so he just went up around the cul-de-sac and didn't have to back up enough and back out. He was excellent. If you want a good and reliable source, and you want it done right and in a timely manner, Montway is the one to call.

I've used Montway for three years and running, and I've had enough experience with the company and how they operate. I am very well satisfied with it. I needed to move temporarily to another residential location and the quote was a little higher than I expected. But we've experienced some expensive times. It's expensive, but given what’s involved, it’s a fair cost. I had Montway transport my vehicle 1,500 miles and it took only about three days. It was done very fast this time. It took longer on other occasions, and that’s fine. Dealing with the driver was very easy, clear and good.

Montway did an outstanding job getting my car to where I needed it to, from the start to point A to point B. The car came, got loaded and arrived in good condition. The guy who delivered my car was outstanding. He was very flexible and tried to get it straight to me so we didn't have to meet somewhere like a parking lot. So, he did a great job all the way to the execution.

Ronald and Cathy, my sister-in-law, used Montway to transfer their vehicle and they told me that it was a good company. I decided to use it for mine and the cost was very reasonable. The driver was very mannerly and professional when he first came to pick the car up. The vehicle arrived while I wasn't there but it was in good shape.

I would recommend Montway Auto Transport. When I had the service, it was good. Everybody was accurate. They took care of the car good. And they always let me know where the vehicle was. The first one was from New York to Chicago. It was supposed to be four days. They wanted to get there ahead of time. But I'm not gonna be there until a certain day, which I originally told them. They said, “Yeah. Okay. No problem.” So, they work with me. The car came exactly two and a half hours after I arrived in Chicago. That worked out perfectly. Also, the drivers are reliable. They take care of your car very good. When they picked up the car in California, I left two set of keys and they forgot them. The people over there mailed it to me in two days. That was good.

We were moving from Houston to Florida, and we only wanted to drive one car. We had used Montway before when we were snowbirds from Florida and they did a good job, so we went with them again. The pickup went great. The driver pulled into our development and came right in front of our house. He stopped two doors down where there wasn’t congestion and everything went fine. He was communicative and it was good dealing with him. The vehicle arrived in great condition just as we put it on the truck. It was a little dirtier but that’s okay. Montway’s price was very competitive and there was good communication. I felt safe giving Montway my car and I would recommend them.

I moved from Florida to Seattle and I used Montway two times there. When I was searching on Google, they came first. I also liked the price. Then I moved from there to California then back to Florida, and I used Montway again. Their customer service has been good and every time that they delivered, it was as expected. However, sometimes they call last minute to say they can pick up that day. If they can work on a pick-up time and date, and make it more precise, that would be great. Other than that, it was overall good experience and I would definitely recommend them.

I used Montway for transport between Florida and New York. During pickup, we had to come up with an alternative for the truck, but everything worked out fine. The driver was efficient. He called me to let me know where he was and what time he would be here. I've used Montway for about five years and they're on time, and the reps are reasonable. The price has risen quite a bit, but at least you can count on them. They’re good about meeting the dates.

I ship cars overseas and I’ve worked with Montway more than once and all those times, I got very good service. I've been using Montway Auto Transport for eight years to ship antique cars and motorcycles. I had a problem with one driver but it was resolved. Sometimes, I need to move to a better price but when I choose Montway, everything is okay.

Terrible communication. Does not respect scheduled days. Could not answer any question about pick up because they're not the carrier. This is a middle man service. Wish I could give 0 stars. I needed to verify if the driver was able to drive down my street for pick up, if not, I needed more notice to schedule someone to assist for drop off. They could not answer until the carrier was assigned and once the carrier is assigned there is no way to cancel cleanly without owing these scammers money. I got a simple text with the driver's number. No additional information, no times, no dates, no emails. I had to reach out to the driver to get all of this information. I requested at least 48 hours notice. I have the support chat transcript confirming it. Found out through the driver after I called them myself that the car will be picked up the next day. This company does not care about the customer at all. They are a middle man only.

It took 10 days for a three-day trip. My car got put on a trailer, which looked like it should be in a junkyard. It got as far as Pittsburgh, and the brakes had to be replaced. It sat three days in Pittsburgh, then it went down to some place in New Jersey, and sat seven more days in New Jersey. Then they finally got the car to me. The lack of communication was incredible. Every time I called, nobody could give me an answer. I was extremely disappointed. Montway is also getting expensive. I got quotes from competitors for $750. Montway's was $1,300. But I decided I would go with Montway because I’ve used them before and generally speaking, they were fine. The big problem is Montway is a broker so you don’t know who the driver is. The driver couldn’t speak a word of English. But other than that, he did an incredible job.

They promise you the world, and then everybody collapse in the end. They made you on hold, on hold, on hold for a week. Everybody wants to get the money from you, and then they start looking for a truck, and then nothing happens. So, I canceled with them, and then I called another company in Jersey. One car, they picked it up and delivered it. The second one, they could not. So, I have to cancel and get somebody else. I shipped with Montway a few times, and they was good. But this time, one of the shipping I don't get lucky. So, I was a little disappointed with this.

We were moving across the country, and so I needed to ship a car. I used Montway when we moved across the country last time. They're the only people I use. Communication with them was really easy. I just gave them the information regarding my car and my ideal window for pick-up, and they gave me a quote and got it scheduled.

I used Montway a couple of years ago and I’m used to the process, which was why I decided to use them again. The transport is for the same vehicle and distance. It was always to Hawaii or back from Hawaii. The process was easy and the transport went smoothly. The quote changed a little bit and was more expensive at the end. But the price is reasonable. The vehicle arrived in good condition. It was the same as when we shipped it off. I’d recommend Montway.

A friend recommended Montway, and I used them to have a car transported from Florida to New York. Their rep was great. Everything was very smooth. Unfortunately, the quote did change. It was a lot higher than last year, but that’s okay.

I needed a transport because I was staying in New Jersey for three months. I wanted my own car here and I chose Montway just through a Google search. I used them last year too. I didn't have any issues the first time that I used them. So, I've used them three times now. Some drivers are more flexible than others, so some will come closer to your house. With my last pickup, they came a block away from my house because it was a two-lane highway, and they were able to pull over to the side. This driver dropping the car off came a block to my house and dropped it off like on a state road. But last year, the guy refused to get that close to the house. So, I had to drive 20 minutes. He said, “Oh, I can't get my truck over there,” which he can because we build houses on the island, and big trucks come over. So, it depends on the individual driver and company. You don't get a choice as to who your driver or company is. But the drivers were all fine.

My daughter needed a car and we had one, and I was shipping it to her. A friend of mine used Montway and he usually does a lot of research so I trusted that he liked the company. It worked for him. So, I went with them. Setting up the transport and the communication went well. I was surprised that it was easy. I didn't have any date and I wasn't in any hurry. They said it might take a few days but the next day, they had a person available to do it.
