What they have done for me, in one instance, was they used other contractors to do the pickup and delivery service for them. They're just somebody that facilitates the process. They find a customer, and then they hook the customer up with a local transport company that is bringing cars down or transporting cars across the country. A couple of companies they use have some good service. The last few times, they picked up the car at my house. They came in with a smaller truck and put it on the back of a transport trailer. They picked up my car and took it to their yard and then put it on their trailer.

The drivers were very good. The latest time I used them, the courier drivers were in tandem. There were two of them. They picked up the car in Texas, and they were gonna drop it off in Rhode Island. They called me up and said, "Well, we're running a little early. Can you meet us at the Walmart that's not too far from your home?" I had originally discussed this with them. I said, "Listen, I'm taking a flight on this date, and I'm coming into Rhode Island on this date." He said, "Well, in case we're running a little earlier, we'll drop your car off to your home." They did and they put the keys in my mailbox, which is a locked mailbox. Overall, I was very satisfied.

During delivery, I arranged with the company to meet me at a parking lot of a large store, where half of the parking lot would be empty because the stores were not all rented out. So, the truck was able to pull right straight into the parking lot and the driver very quickly moved all his levers and hydraulics and got my car off the carrier. Then he went over it with me and we inspected it. He took pictures and showed me the pictures he took when he picked it up, and there were no problems. So, we shook hands and he went off.

But they increased the price and did not stick to their quote. But even with the increase, the price was fairly reasonable and they explained why they had to increase the price. It was because the cost of diesel fuel had gone up so much since the initial quote was done, which was way in advance of my needing the service. So, I was not upset about having to do that. All in all, Montway was easy to deal with and book. Although, initially, there was a little kerfuffle because the driver they first contracted with wanted to pick up the car before I said the date that they could pick it up. So, they had to redo that and get a new driver. They followed up and they followed through. They also did not bug the crap out of me when I logged in and filled the form out online. They simply contacted me once, gave me a quote, and told me to let them know. Other companies that I did that with called and emailed me constantly for weeks afterwards.

The transport was expected to take two months. That was probably the worse case scenario date. They arrived quicker than expected by several weeks. They called us. I used the app which was great. It told me that the vehicle was there. I was able to contact Montway. We shipped the cars a week apart. When I picked up one vehicle, I was able to talk to them about the second vehicle. They gave me an estimated time, which was exactly when the vehicle arrived. It was ready the next day. In Hawaii, they use a ship. Somebody grabbed the vehicle and drove it up. We did a walk around and then they handed me the paperwork. Prior to leaving the security area, I had to show the paperwork again to another individual. They cleared me to leave the premises and take my vehicle. It was great.

The quality of the service was spot on. The gut-wrenching part was how much it cost. However, it was worth every penny with the way the cars were delivered as well as the professionalism. Montway is reliable and professional. Their website and the online tools are great. In today's world where you go on a website and try to ask for a quote, they want all your information and then you're gonna get a gazillion callbacks. That wasn't necessarily the case with Montway and I appreciated that. I would definitely do it all over again with Montway.

The actual drivers told me when they were coming in the night before, and we talked directions and different things. So, that all went really easy. I live in a neighborhood that really facilitated their truck getting in easily. The whole thing was great. I know in detail what the vehicle looked like. It got to me exactly as it entered their trailer and in their possession.

The only quirky thing about the delivery was it was a little bit pricey and then the payment method was a little bit weird in the way that they wanted to be paid. That caused a little bit of confusion with communication. We ended up working it out but with the price that we agreed upon, apparently, couldn't be through credit card, but it couldn't be cash. It was these methods that they wanted that I didn't have. So, that was limiting.

They didn't have paypal but they had Zelle. I didn't wanna have anything to do with Zelle. So, I had to figure that out. It would be helpful to people to make sure they understand the quote with the sort of not credit card price. It got worked out. I paid half up front and then the other half later. They claimed that it was explained to me, but I never saw that. So when we got to that moment, it was a bit of a thing. I had to figure out Zelle and use Zelle which I didn't really want to because I don't really like Zelle.

The driver ended up calling me and asked, "Can you meet me at this Target parking lot." They said it was door-to-door. But the rig was so big that I completely understand why they couldn't make it up our little driveway. But it was kind of a bummer because it was an hour before they were supposed to pick it up. Other than that, it ended up being totally fine.

The drop-off was with my in-laws and it was a little bit stressful because they didn't give us a lot of heads-up about when they were going to be around. It was a really big window and both my in-laws worked. So it was a little bit of a touch-and-go stress. They parked the truck somewhere downtown because San Francisco is super hilly and it would have been really hard for them to bring it up. They left the rig in a parking lot, and then they drove two cars, our car and one of their cars, up to my in-laws' place, and then collected the balance that we owed them, and then drove back in the other car that they brought. So that part was door-to-door. Overall, I would use Montway again myself. But there were things that would make it better, which would be more communication, especially around the drop-off, and more of a heads-up and a smaller window.

Despite this, the quality of service was satisfactory, highlighted by the impressive 2.5 days it took for my car to be transported across the country. Overall, my needs were met and I found the speed of delivery remarkable.

The customer service was impressive. Everything they promised, from pick up to delivery dates, was fulfilled exactly as communicated. I found the entire process to be very straightforward, particularly the pick-up and drop-off, which happened on time.

When it comes to pricing, I feel the quote I received was fair, and I would gladly recommend Montway to friends if they asked about my experience. Both the overall service and customer interaction I experienced with Montway Auto Transport deserves recognition.

Montway acted as a broker, coordinating with another Massachusetts-based company for the transport, and the arrangement was hassle-free. Overall, I rate Montway Auto Transport highly and plan to contact them for future services.
