I took my car in for an oil change. Two weeks later my low engine oil light turns on and the dip stick shows completely dry. I had to fill up 3 quarts of oil and called the Arroyo Grande office and told them what happened. The person I spoke with said that three people sign off and certify that they change oil and there is no way they forgot to fill it up with engine oil.
So he recommends I take my vehicle in so they can check and make sure there are no leaks and no lose parts causing a possible leak. I take my car in to a Jiffy Lube in Los Angeles and they check and say no leaks appear and no lose part. They cannot explain why my check engine oil light turned on and I was low 3 quarts. I tell them that this could have caused my engine to blow up and they said the only thing they could think of is the Jiffy Lube where I got my oil change didn't fill it up with oil after they changed my oil. I'm never going back to Jiffy Lube again.

Took my car to a Jiffy Lube for service. Not 15 minutes after I left, I hear a grinding and then as I'm trying to get off the highway, a loud pop. Then a sound like a tin can is clanging around in my engine. Finally get off the highway. Come to find out that the engine oil compartment is dry. We found that the oil plug was missing out of the oil pan.
My engine is destroyed. I had to tow my car, have to incur rental car fees and Jiffy Lube told me they refuse to take responsibility for the damages. A nasty area representative named Anthony ** claimed "I did not prove they had anything to do with the damages".
Lets look at the facts:My car was not damaged before they touched it. They changed the oil, 15 minutes after leaving their facility my cars engine blows due to no oil being in the engine and a missing oil pan plug which caused the oil to spill out on the highway. What more evidence does there need to be? He also claimed that I was attempting to "scam" them. So not only did I go to a Jiffy Lube and as a result of a mistake by their crew my engine blows but I also get treated rudely and get called a scam artist.

I went for a signature oil change service. After they put oil in my car, the guy called me into bay area and said that "we recommend this oil that has additives and etc., for vehicles like yours that have over 75,000 miles, which costs 60 some odd dollars". Let me think about this. I already saw them put oil in my car, so they are going to charge me more if I say I wanted that one. They said I needed anti-freeze and it was an additional $3.00. I told them I have some in my trunk, I could do that myself. While I was paying the bill, they pulled my car out. I was told that if I am ever low on fluids, I can come back to have them topped off at no additional charge. Why were they going to charge me for the anti-freeze then? I asked if they do not vacuum or check tire pressure anymore. They said pressure was checked while I was paying. They pulled my car back in to vacuum.
The windshield was never washed and the tire pressure could not have been checked if one tire had 30psi and three had 32psi. Or did they not add air to the tires? My bill says PCV valve and serpentine belt-n/a, my car has both. Why was it not checked? Bill also said that the coolant level check - okay. That is not true as it was low and I added fluid when I got home and they told me I needed some.

On November 3rd 2010 after work, I went to Jiffy Lube in Sherwood, Oregon for a routine oil change. The guy was trying to sell me a belt for my car and an oil flush. I said, I did not need that, I did not have the extra money but if I needed the oil flushed due to problems let me know now and I will go ahead to get it done, the guy said no it is no big deal but in the future it may need to be done at some point. I said, "Okay, later on we'll get it done. Then I hear another guy and the manager going back and forth about how many quarts to put in my car but I figured they knew what they were doing.
So, I stepped away to call my wife and let her know I would be home soon. They finished, I left and came home. Went to pick up my wife to go out to dinner and driving down the road we hear the car knocking like no sound we've heard before. So we drive it into the Jiffy Lube in our town of McMinnville, they refer us to a mechanic, the mechanic said, "Oh no, that is a blown rod and you will have to replace the whole motor which is thousands of dollars."
We were so upset and drove it back home. It was so loud that others were just staring at us as we drove. We made it home and Friday the 5th (11/5/10) we decided to take it to Jiffy Lube in town (McMinnville) again to see if maybe getting an oil flush would work which costs us $99.98 and to help the car so we did, and they were all very helpful there and could not understand themselves why we just started having issues with the car after leaving the Sherwood jiffy lube and that there was no oil on the dipstick when we brought it in.
The manager there worked on it himself. The car should not have lost that much oil since Wednesday to Friday (two days) and there were no signs of any oil leak what so ever! The guys at McMinnville Jiffy Lube said, they feel like it is Sherwood Jiffy Lubes fault and they owe us another motor so in the mean time they refer us to another mechanic that takes payments we made it there but the car was running so loud that the mechanic said this car is dying and he said the same thing, the motor is shot.
But none of these people could believe that how great our car looked and how well we've kept up on it that this happened randomly. They all felt like Sherwood jiffy lube is at fault and should replace our motor. We leave this mechanic and head to the Sherwood Jiffy Lube because we call them and they treat us like liars and said we need to drive the car up there, so they can see it for their self. Well, we got halfway between Newberg and Sherwood and the car breaks down.
We were stranded for 7 hours, we call the Sherwood Jiffy Lube again to tell them what just happened. They were rude, denied everything, said they have cameras and they put oil in the car, then blamed the McMinnville location and was denying anything was their fault or problem. They were rude and could careless. We got a hold of someone who is over that branch, all they ended up doing was refunding us $24.99 for the oil change and they said that's all they could do! We were left stranded for 7 hours, finally a stranger came up and believe you me was an angel. He paid a tow truck to bring us home, to tow us home.

The Jiffy Lube in Austin TX #2477 charged my wife $108.98 for changing the oil and she agreed to an air filter replacement. The Signature Service was $37.99 and air filter was $21.99. So the charge should have been in the area of $60.
The oil change itself would have been fine since their was a $10 discount which would have had the oil change at $27.99 plus tax and I just got my car's oil and filter changed at Walmart a week ago for $30.88 (including tax). But when I looked at her receipt, I saw an additional charge for $5 for Mobile Synthetic and a $46.99 charge for an oil upgrade (?!). She said she was only informed of the air filter to which she agreed. She didn't know the general price of oil changes and paid, but I am appalled at the unfair business practices found at Jiffy Lube and from past bad experiences. (I was very unhappy when I found out my wife went to Jiffy Lube again in the first place). They are not responsive to complaints. They are more than happy to treat us poorly because there will always be another customer. If they can't make enough money doing simple, inexpensive oil changes, they should get out of the business!

On Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, while less than 1/4 mile from my house, I noticed the oil light on my car had gone on. First thing Monday morning, Sept 27th, I drove to my local Jiffy Lube. I told them my oil light had come on. They asked did I want to top off the oil or change the oil. I said, I would change the oil. They put 5 quarts of oil in, told me everything was okay and I drove off.
I drove 20 miles from West Los Angeles to Burbank, CA and by the time I arrived in Burbank the car was losing power and the oil light had gone back on. I stopped and looked for a local Jiffy Lube to pull into. Less than a block away from another Jiffy Lube, the check engine light came on and the car stopped dead in the middle of a busy street.
I called AAA who towed it to a local mechanic, J's Auto Clinic. Jack, the owner of the mechanic shop, showed me that there was not a drop of oil in my car and that the engine had frozen.
I called my Volvo dealer who I have been dealing with for years and he told me that it would cost approximately $7000 to replace the engine, because the engine was dead. They would offer me $500 for the car if I wanted to sell it to them but AAA told me that it would cost $200 to have the car towed there.
I called the Jiffy Lube immediately upon being towed to the mechanic. The assistant manager, Devin ** said, he would drive out to Burbank to take a look at the car. He claimed that it was written on my invoice from Jiffy Lube that I had an oil leak in the car when I brought it in.
No where on my invoice was it written that there was an oil leak. I showed the invoice to Jack, the mechanic, and he confirmed that it was not written or indicated anywhere on the invoice that I had a leak. Devin was not in the shop at the time I brought the car in, so the person that worked on my car had to have told Devin that there was an oil leak.
In essence, Jiffy Lube, put oil in my car knowing full well that I had a leak, did not tell me anything and allowed me to drive away thinking my car was fine.
Devin ** came out to the shop. Basically he told me that, "they are not mechanics at Jiffy Lube" even though they advertise that they will inspect your car and let you know if you have a problem. He laughed at me and said that I could try to contact the district office as well as headquarters of Jiffy Lube but it would not get me anywhere.
I told him that they were responsible for the fact that my engine died because it was irresponsible and unethical that they did not tell me that I had a leak. He basically said, "Go ahead, try to sue us". The next day, he gave me a $55 refund for the engine that leaked out, however, I feel that Jiffy Lube is responsible for the fact that I lost my car which was valued at a least $7300 according to Volvo.

I went in for a basic oil change only. After the car went to the body shop for minor repairs, I picked up the car and drove home. The next morning, I found a big spot and a puddle of fresh oil. The car only has 22,000 miles and did not leak anything until I went to Jiffy Lube. I returned to the Jiffy Lube and asked them to check and make sure everything was tight. They told me someone left the drain plug loose! The only thing they said was sorry for the inconvenience.

I took my truck to have the oil changed. My truck was running, after the oil was changed, approximately an hour later it began to idle low buck and almost stall. I took it back and they said it wasn't anything they did. Please note, the hand held computer they were using read error the entire time. I called corp to file a complaint and have to wait 3 to 5 days to hear back. The teenagers that work there told me I need to see a mechanic. I have since in the last hour taken it to someone with an accurate computer system and it is in fact something that Jiffy Lube has done to ** up my truck its the air flow sensors. I am beyond angry at this point. Not one time did they even attempt to say, oh maybe we hit a wire. Nothing they simply said "wasn't us". I will be there in the morning and I want this fixed and my money back!

While at the Jiffy Lube for a routine oil change, the "mechanic" broke off the valve stem (and TPS monitor) while checking the tire pressure. They told me this was my problem as it was rotting out. Then, they couldn't find the wheel lock and after waiting for 2 hours during a work day, they decided to just brake of a lug nut and put the spare on. All this, while the "mechanics" were cursing at each other because my car was blocking a busy lane for 2 hours.
I took the car to a tire place down the street and it cost $170 to repair the tire. They told me that there is no way this should happen to a 3 year old car. I then called a mechanic at the dealership where I bought the car from and they said the same. Had to take a 1/2 day off work to deal with this and it cost me $170. They wouldn't even discount my oil change after I asked for all this trouble.

I took my car in for inspection on Labor Day of this year to get a state inspection at store #2923 on Ranch Road 620 at the top of Lake Creek. The employee there proceeded to do a brake check on my car. I told the manager that there was no need as that I had just installed new pads and rotors on the car. He said that it was required by law. OK, I agreed. I don't feel comfortable when anyone drives my car other then myself.
Well, upon doing the brake test, the employee took a turn too quickly and ran my car up onto a curb and skated down the curb being as my car is lowered after market damaging the rocker panel and curbing my back rim. OK, mistakes happen. I understand.
So right now I am in the process of trying to get the car fixed. Jiffy Lube says they will take care of the situation and the car will be fixed. They asked me to get two estimates from local body shops. So far I have gotten three. They claim that the cost of the estimates is too high and are refusing to pay that much for the damages.
I have worked at a couple of body shops in the past and the prices that I have received for my estimates does seem a little high, but I didn't write the estimates and this is apparently what it is going to cost to get my car fixed right. They want me to take my car to their shop. The manager that I spoke with, Brad, suggested that I drop the car off with him and that he would take the car to their repair shop down in South Austin.
I have never been to the shop and don't know where it is and I don't feel comfortable with anyone driving my car but me as I have stated earlier. I have asked my insurance company and was under the impression that I can take my car wherever I want to take it get the repairs done. The manager "Brad" told me that I was incorrect and said he would fix it at his shop.
There is no way I'm dropping my car off with someone I don't know to drive my car to an unknown location where I don't know how it will be repaired and have no involvement in the repairs. They have told me two or three times already that I would be contacted and have not. I had to end up calling corporate to get things going myself. The Regional Manager or maybe he is the Area Manager, Mark **, is whom I am speaking with now. He is telling me that he will not reimburse me more then "his" shop can fix it for.
Well, if it is my right to be able to take the car wherever I choose to get it fixed, then this means that I will have to pay out of pocket to pay the difference if "his" shop can fix it cheaper. I want it fixed right, not quickly and cheaply. After getting the three estimates, this is obviously right around the cost of the repairs. All three estimates are within $30-$50 of each other.
Tomorrow I will go find their "shop" and get an estimate according to the previous ones and lines written in them. So I know the repairs will be done right. My rocker panel is a uni-side, meaning it connects with the whole quarter panel on my Volkswagen GTI. Let’s see where I go from here. Wish me luck. If you’re a lawyer reading this, then feel free to contact me with a legal advice. Thanks for reading.

I don't want a used engine which I am told will probably happen. I a woman living on Social Security and any part-time jobs. I live alone. I took my wife's 2004 GMC Envoy in for an oil change on 9/15/10, which was Ladie's day. My wife was present with me. After discussing the oil change service with the employee who wrote up the service order, we were led to the customer waiting area. After a few minutes, I was called to the counter by the person I was later to learn was the manager, who began to tell me about the charges. The total amount that he quoted was overpriced and I asked him to check his figures, which at first he insisted was correct, then he checked it again and admitted that he had entered an incorrect code.
Well, in the interim, I was using my personal calculator to check his figures and he became impatient and perturbed because he wanted me to get out of the way so he could wait on another customer. I informed him I have a right to check the figures, because he had already made one mistake. At that point, he became very irate and began yelling. After an exchange of words, I returned to my seat and he went into the service bay area. In my opinion, the encounter was over since I agreed to the corrected total.
A few minutes later, the service tech who was working on my wife's car comes into the waiting room and proceeds to use a profanity laced tirade that it was all my fault because I need to learn how to ** add. Well, needless to say he disrespected me, my wife and 2 other lady customers that were present. The manager did not reprimand this individual, but instead lied on his behalf and said that it never happened. One of the ladies, who was present heard the entire altercation, and she immediately called the district manager and the police and reported the incident as a third party witness. The manager and this employee would not provide us with their names.
We waited for the district manager and the police to arrive. The district manager told us that he thought it was the manager who used the vulgar language, but we told him it was the person who provided the service to the vehicle. I did not have any words with him until he approached me in a threatening manner inside the customer waiting area. I feel my wife and myself are owed an apology none was given, not even by the district manager, the only thing he indicated to us was he was going to send someone home today. We were not treated with respect and Jiffy Lube has lost our business forever. The third party witness repeated the same.

While I was at Jiffy Lube, one of their employees removed my air filter. After I told them that I did not want them to replace it, another employee attempted to put the air filter back in. During the process of replacing the air filter, he removed a large portion of the air duct system. He was not being very gentle with this and broke part of the air duct. I was watching the entire process through the window from the waiting room. The employee placed the portion of the air duct that he broke onto a computer station and left it there.
When he proceeded to close the hood without replacing the broken portion, I intervened and asked if he was planning on replacing the part. He claimed that he had merely forgotten to replace it. He tried to tell me that "it just came off when I was replacing the air filter", and that it was already broken when I came in. When I spoke with the manager, he could only tell me that he was "baking his guys" and there was nothing he could do about it. All I know is that the part was securely in place when I came in and it was completely broken off when I left.

On 9-1-10, I went in for an oil change and went home. Three days later, I drove out of my garage to go out for breakfast. Upon returning home and opening my garage door, I notice a pool of transmission fluid in the space that I was parked for 3 days. I immediately backed out and drove back to Jiffy Lube to tell them the problem. I had my boyfriend come with me this time. They inspected under the car and saw the mess and told me I had a transmission gasket problem and gave me a business card of a George Pulidos Auto Repair in Perris, CA 951-943-2898. They said they send all their transmission work to this man. They said they could not help me.
I came home and my boyfriend jacked the car up and went under the car with a wrench and discovered that all the bolts had been loosened and he tightened them all back up. Afterward, I drove the car for a few miles, came home and put white paper under the car to see if it would leak anymore. Not one drop leaked. So I called Jiffy Lube and was directed to a manager that would not help me so I got the name of the director: Cruz Martinez 909-263-7778 and called him and told him exactly what happened. He said he would look into it. I said I want my garage and driveway steamed cleaned and want my money back for the oil change and also something for my inconvenience.
Well, today is 9/13/10 and I just had Mike ** from Geyser Pressure Washing 951-385-5046 come over and he did the clean up on the garage and driveway and it cost Jiffy Lube $100.00 for the job. I am awaiting my refund check and do not know if they will give me any other compensation for my inconvenience. Another thing I did was call Pulidos Auto Repair and pretend to be a customer from Jiffy Lube #3294 and asked if he got many customer referrals from them and he said yes, all the time. So I let him know that Jiffy Lube loosened the bolts on my car and got caught and that his scam with them should be caught as I am sure they give each other kick backs on what they make by charging for things they don't even have to replace. Just re-tighten the bolts.
They're scamming innocent woman. I am so happy that my boyfriend was able to help me out here.

On Thursday, August 20th, I went into Jiffy Lube in Oak Park near my house, for a routine oil change. My car has higher mileage so I opted for the high mileage oil change. After about 10 minutes, the guy who appeared to be the manager called me over and stated that it was recommended that I get my engine coolant flushed, and to get my fuel injectors cleaned. The total cost was around $205. When my car was finally returned to me, I got in and immediately noticed that the shifter in my car was a lot looser than when I got there.
On my 2005 Suzuki Verona, in order to shift from park to any other gear, you have to step on the brake and also push down on the shift knob before attempting to move into reverse, neutral or drive. As soon as I stepped on the brake, the shifter moved with very little pressure from me. I stepped out of the car to show the gentlemen there what I just discovered. The "owner" started questioning whether it was like that when I came in. Then he tried to tell me that there is nothing wrong with the transmission so you should be fine. I showed him how it was supposed to work, and also informed him that the guy who broke also admitted that he had trouble getting it out of park.
He then offered to cover it if I could show him the manual where it says that you are supposed to push down on the shifter in order to change gears. I got upset and told him why would they make the shifter able to push down if it didn't serve a purpose. After a few seconds I told him I was going to get a lawyer to take care of the situation. He then said I have it fixed for you, come back on Monday and my repair guy down the street will fix it for you. I left after gathering his phone number and was semi-satisfied.
The next day I was on my way to the dealership to have them check it out. When I got about 3 blocks away, I started seeing smoke coming from under my hood, and I looked at the dash and noticed that the needle showing the temperature was all the way on the H. The car was over heating. As soon as I got into the lot for the dealership the car died and would not start again. I had the dealership check it out. They told me that the nipple leading from the radiator had broken off in the hose connected to it. They also said that it was not a usual occurrence, and that it takes pressure to break it, nothing that normal wear and tear could do. The repair cost was $800. This caused me to miss work on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, due to the availability of the parts. Now I want a refund of the work Jiffy Lube completed, and I want to be reimbursed for the repairs, and I want the shifter problem fixed as well.

On Thursday, 5 August 2010 I left my car, a green 2001 4-door Toyota Highlander, for routine servicing at Jiffy Lube on W. Newberry Rd. in Gainesville, Florida, the closest Jiffy Lube to my home in Horseshoe Beach, FL (a 1 1/2 drive from Gainesville). The total bill somewhat astounded me at $350 for what was supposed to be routine maintenance. However, I paid it, assuming that everything had been done in top-shape form. I then drove the car back home to Horseshoe Beach, without any problem during the 1 1/2 hour trip.
I did not drive the car again until today, Thursday, 12 August 2010. It seemed very jumpy, as though the tires were skipping from time to time on the way in to town (20 miles, Cross City, FL). I assumed this was because we had had a great deal of rain, and the car was going through puddles, causing the tires to catch. On the way back home from Cross City to Horseshoe Beach, however, the jumpiness increased rather dramatically. I managed to get back to Horseshoe Beach, but by then knew that something was definitely very wrong with the vehicle. As I pulled into my driveway, the motor simply stopped. I got out of the car, and huge billows of smoke were pouring from the engine.
When I opened the hood the entire engine was on fire, the flames approximately a foot or slightly more in height. I managed to put the fire out with a water hose, with some difficulty. Attempts to operate the car, or even just turn the engine on, after that were totally ineffectual. Nothing happened, at all. Since I live 20+ miles from the closest town and live in a small coastal village which has no grocery stores or other retail stores of any kind, I was, and still am, simply marooned.
In as much as the car is apparently now totally unusable - actually destroyed as a usable vehicle -- as a result of whatever your Gainesville Jiffy Lube people did or did not do properly, I expect your company: (1) to reimburse me for the so-called servicing given that vehicle; (2)pay me for the purchase of a new 4-door Toyota Highlander (Kelly Blue Book $30,010); and (3) pay for the considerable inconvenience of not being able to get to grocery stores and other stores for purchase of the necessary conveniences of life over the past week-- I would estimate this loss to be approximately $650.

I put oil in and brought it to the Hyundai dealer. Hyundai analyzed problem and said Jiffy Lube installed oil filter improperly, oil flowed out of filter and engine is ruined. Most likely cause was o-ring.
On 7-16-10 I contacted terry k., Manager of jiffy lube and he came out to my house and inspected the filter. He said it was the o-ring and it was not his problem. I would need to take it up with his oil filter supplier Fram/Honeywell. Jiffy Lube has not returned any of my attorney's phone calls and their supplier says they do not do business at WA state. Jiffy Lube installed filter wrong, ruined my engine and I must have a car for showing houses (I'm a realtor). Jiffy lube obviously broke my light switch and refused to fess up to it which is highly unprofessional. I'm seeking compensation for the money I had to pay to get my car fixed.

Yesterday, I made the huge mistake of going to Jiffy Lube to have the oil changed in my Audi A6. When I inquired how long it would take to change my oil, the young woman at the desk said "5 to 10 minutes, sweety". The car sat in front of the empty bay for 5 minutes before a service tech drove it into the garage. They pulled the air filter off and tried to sell me a new one. They then informed me that they couldn't get the oil filter off the vehicle, and wouldn't risk trying it again because they didn't want any liability for damages.
I asked them to put the car back together and I was leaving. Not so fast, the technician said. I drained the old oil already, you have to pay for new oil. I told him I didn't want to put new oil in with an old filter. He said I had no alternative but they would give me $5 off my bill as a filter "credit". Slowly, the tech filled up the oil, put the air filter back on and closed up the hood. Another tech came by and made a few half-hearted vacuum passes on the driver's floor mat. They pulled my car out of the bay.
They did not wash the exterior windows. They did not top off the washer fluid. They did not check the tire pressure. They did not vacuum the other carpets. They did not check the exterior lights. They did not check the wiper blades. I know this because I was watching them "work". Nearly 30 minutes after I pulled up to the empty bay, they told me I owed $47.28. I realized today that I was charged the "Non-conventional weights" price of $41.99 even though they put 5W30 in the vehicle. I also got a + $2.00 upcharge for driving a 4X4 vehicle and an additional $5.20 for the oil. I did get the $5.00 credit though.
I told the counter person that was ridiculous, that I was very unhappy about this whole service. She said I could "call and complain" about it if I wanted to. Since I was already late, I just paid the bill with my AMEX card and left. I will now dispute the charge and "freeze" payment until I get a credit from Jiffy Lube. I also will tell everybody I can about my horrid experience and urge them to take their oil change business elsewhere.

Oil leak following oil change two weeks ago because the schedule is convenient, I went for an oil change at the Jiffy Lube in Randolph, MA. There was nothing wrong with my Ford Taurus until after the oil change. I thought the oil in my driveway was from my son's car because he and I don't always park in the same spots. Then my son told me that it's not his car. So I went back to the Jiffy Lube this morning to have them check and make sure that the oil cap was tightened.
So I was told this morning by the person I assume is the manager that there was no engine oil in my Ford and that "the oil pan gasket" and "valve cover gasket" were leaking. I asked him why they weren't leaking before the oil change two weeks ago and he said that I needed to take the car to a mechanic. I asked him whether these parts were handled during the oil change and he said "no". He said that I can come back as often as needed for a "top off" service. I can't believe he said that the car had no oil in it.
And if the guy was pretty courteous, but I don't trust Jiffy Lube and will never go back for an oil change. If my mechanic says that "yes" Jiffy Lube had to handle the oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket when they did the oil change two weeks ago, I will hold them responsible for any damage. Convenient hours of operation but lousy service. Thanks for exposing them for what they are.

I went in for a simple oil change and when we left my Tahoe was sputtering. We called them back and they said, "Oh, it can't be nothing we did." I ignored the problem because I don't really drive the truck. Well, I went to the motor cross track to ride one weekend and when I left, the truck cut off and would not start. I was stranded for 2 hours. I knew it was an air problem, so I finally disconnected the mass air flow sensor and the truck started. I took it to Penske Chevy and they found a Jiffy lube inspection report shuffled in my air box. It cost me about 100.00 dollars for that visit. I was supposed to receive a check for a refund but have not received it and probably won't.

My temperature gauge started to go to hot so I took it to Jiffy Lube to make sure everything was okay because for some reason my hood latch would not open. Since I was there, I asked them to do an oil change and check everything. Well an oil change turned into a full blown tune up and cost me an arm and a leg. They replaced filters, belts you name it. I drove the car home and the fan still came on so I called them back and was told it was probably the thermostat since they had checked everything else.
In the mean time, I stopped driving it until I got paid since they took all that I had left to take it in to another mechanic. Lo and behold, my head gaskets were blown, the new belt they charged me $100 for was a cheap one with a crack already and to top it all off all of my fluids were empty and my car has no leaks. So now I have no vehicle with three kids and kindly called them to go look at car since they did a lousy job. The mechanic tells me it will cost over $2000 to fix my car and now Jiffy Lube is saying, too bad, not their problem. I know a lot of people in Las Cruces and let me tell you they will know what kind of service they are running. If they were as good as they say, corporate headquarters would be calling me today and with no questions and fix my car. Never had any problems with this car and now I will be sure to have everyone boycott this place. By all the comments I have read seems to me we should all get together and hire a lawyer and get what we deserve!

In May 2009, I went to Jiffy Lube for a regular oil change and it was suggested that I get a fuel system cleaning that would add to my gas mileage. After the oil change and cleaning, the technician said, "Your check engine light may come on as some gas at times gets into the catalytic converter. Come by and we will turn it off. The gas will eventually dry up." A year later the light was still on (after being turned off at every 3,000 mile oil change.) At sticker time, I brought the car to a repair shop as Massachusetts will not issue an inspection sticker with a check engine light on. The catalytic converter was rusted-out and needed to be replaced. The cost is $950. Needless to say, and I am no longer a Jiffy Lube customer.

We had an overheating issue while on our way to San Diego. We stopped in a small repair facility and the mechanic checked the radiator and hoses. He advised that there were no leaks but we needed to have the radiator flushed as soon as possible. We chose to continue our trip. The next morning we took the car to Jiffy Lube to have the radiator flushed at a cost of $94.18.
While returning home the next day, the overheating started again. Upon returning to AZ we took the car to our local radiator shop. They drained the radiator and found that not only was it clogged with rust, which should have been "flushed" out, instead of anti-freeze it contained mostly water. We paid for water but were charged for 16 quarts of anti-freeze we never received.
Now it's costing us an additional $280 to have the car properly fixed. We had to spend an additional $280 to make repairs to the car that should have been covered with the $94.18 spent at Jiffy Lube if they would have done the job they were paid to do.

Poor Quality Work, Dishonest, Overpriced !
My negative experience was at two separate Jiffy Lube shops. The first was in 2007. The cashier went over the other services performed on my vehicle as annotated on the invoice receipt. When I got to my car, the windows & amp, and windshield were dirty. The carpet was not vaccumed, & amp, and there was no washer fluid in the reservoir. When I reported this to the manager on duty, he first made excuses. I pointed out the obvious evidence, as well as told him that this was poor business practice. And I also told him that this is bordered on false claims & amp which is a downright fraud. He remained obstinate & amp and I did not even received an apology.
Today, June 21, 2010 came the second incident. There was wrong kind of oil used, the car was left dirty, the trash was left inside of vehicle after cleaning, and the cabin air filter cover was left sitting on the floor. But wait , here is the icing on the cake - an about 80yrs old lady in line before me was charged $169 for an oil change on her 2009 Honda Accord (with 29K miles). The guy tried to sell me the same. I wish I could have warned sweet old grandma sooner. I really felt bad for her because ashe was taken advantage of.

I agreed since I was going on a long trip soon. They also checked my tire pressure but did not fill them to the proper pressure so I had them fill them correctly. As soon as I left, my van began to overheat and I turned right around and had the manager look at my vehicle. He continued to look at it for the next 1 1/2 hours and called his local mechanic for help. His mechanic told him that he thought that my thermostat was going out or it was just a fluke and it would go away.
I received the name, number, and address of their mechanic and was told that they would pay for any expenses if I took my vehicle there, but only if it was due to something that they did. I did not know the experience of this mechanic and did not feel comfortable taking my van to this person. I called a friend who was a mechanic and he said that it sounded like there was air in my coolant system and it needed to be burped. I took my van to my mechanic who burped the system. I talked to a nice assistant manager who called me back and said one of the employees had seen another employee do the deed, but probably would give a statement to the police being afraid labeled a snitch. I did file a complaint with the police department.
I had car repaired under my insurance policy. When I tried to at least recover my deductible, the management was nonresponsive. And when I finally did talk to a local manager, he said they were denying the claim because basically I didn't actually witness the act. Their employee refused to confirm his earlier comment and I basically couldn't prove it anyway. He also went on to tell me I had paid too much to have it replaced and was asking for too much anyway. It's a shame. I have used various Jiffy Lubes for years, but this action and the absolute disregard for their customer's concerns is just not right. For the past few years, I have gone to the same Jiffy Lube for my annual safety and emissions inspection. I have made no changes to my vehicle, ever. This year, I was told that I failed the safety inspection because my rear brake light was covered with tint. I was told I must remove the tint around the brake light in order to pass inspection and get my car registered. Removing tint from the rear window is no easy task as the angle is sharp and deep and the applicable light is covering the area. While struggling to remove the tint from that area of the brake lamp only, the tint caught and ended up removing the tint from approximately one-third of the entire window.
When trying to track down whether or not the failed mark I received initially was even valid, I found it was and that I should never have passed inspection. I don't know yet how much this will cost me, but I am angry that I was not told about the apparent problem in previous years and that I was forced into removing the tint this year, which resulted in more damage that would not have happened had I been informed when I first had my car inspected in the State of Utah by the same Jiffy Lube location. I now have to replace the tint from the entire back windshield of my car or I will not pass the safety inspection next year. I told him to stop, and got his manager. I asked about cost, oil type, filters, etc. trying not to worry about the stalling incident. It was $80 for the synthetic I wanted, which was too much so I asked for conventional. It said $33 on the paper work, but on ring up it was $45, because they said I needed 6 quarts of oil, so it was extra. I had to pull out my owner's manual and dealer oil change receipt and prove that it only took 5 quarts. Then, they showed me this old, nasty air filter and said I needed to have mine replaced before they could release my truck to me... the problem here? I had a brand new K&N filter, and the one they showed me definitely wasn't mine. At this point, I said "Stop, undo whatever you did. I am not paying for any of this." They threatened to call the police and I said "Please do. I would love to explain to them what kind of scam you have going on here." They released my car keys and truck to me (without police intervention) and watched while I got under my truck and checked to make sure none of the after market parts were missing. Turns out they had taken off my oil filter and drained everything, then let me leave like that. I ended up walking across the street to Walmart, buying what I needed and finishing the change in their parking lot because I didn't want to drive anywhere without oil.
It was actually cheaper to change the oil myself, which I've always known but it is not as convenient. My K&N filter was exactly where I left it, clean as a whistle. I agreed to the flush and after 2 hours, I saw 5 people looking at my car.
I questioned this and the technician told me it was because "they never did one on an Altima and it is harder to do." He also advised me that I should not worry because "his manager was working on it". I left this alone and allowed them to proceed with their work. By April 22, 2010, I brought my car to Nissan because it had begun making a strange whining noise. While traveling in Florida in Isata Motorhome, stopped at Bradanton Jiffy Lube, on Nov. 14th 2009, for oil change and servicing prior to the drive back to our home in New Hampshire. On following day we drove north, and while driving on I-81 in northern VA we heard a very slight noise from, what we then thought to be a change in the pavement on the highway. The sound got slightly louder as we traveled along I-81 beyond Harrisburg PA and I pulled into the nearest rest area and looked under the vehicle to find that oil was covering much of the underside of the unit. Upon further inspection I found that the plug on the top of the differential was missing.
It was after 5pm, and I immediately called the National Jiffy Lube Office to report the problem and was given a claim # of **. I was also advised to stop and get oil and a plug as soon as possible, to check for damage when I got home and to call the manager of the Bradanton Jiffy Lube the next morning. I continued slowly to the next exit and found a truck stop, Schlier's SVC where they were able to locate a plug and fill the differential with oil. They suggested that I have it checked as soon as possible when I got home, which I did. On the remainder of the trip, the noise was less but was still there.
I called David, manager of the Bradanton Jiffy Lube the next morning to report the problem and he suggested that I call the Mats, the owner if I found that any damage had been done. I called Mats and got an answering machine. He returned my call the next day and suggested that I have the differential checked and fax him with invoices.
I took the vehicle to Knights Garage, in Barrington, NH, the mechanics who have worked on this vehicle and all of my vehicles for several years. They called a transmission specialist from Bill's Transmissions to check the differential and he found that serious damage had been done to the differential gears as well as the rear wheel bearings. Knights removed the rear axil and took it to Bill's Transmission where it was repaired. Knights then picked up the axil and reinstalled it. The repair work was completed Jan. 11, 2010.
The bills were as follows:1) Schlier's in PA $84.50,
2) Knight's $597.80,
3) Bill's Trans. $1025.00, Total: $1707.30.
I faxed this information to Mats on 1/13/2010. I called Mats on 1/17/2010 and spoke with Hilda, who assured me that she would have Mats call. He never did. I recalled almost daily from 1/21 until 2/1 and asked to have Mats return my call. Again he never returned my calls. On 2/1, I called the National Jeffy Lube Customer Service and explained my experience with Mats. I was asked to hold on the line and within a few minutes I was told that Mats would call me by noon the next day. He did call lat in the afternoon of 2/2 and asked me to fax him with the odometer reading on the vehicle, which I did.
I was out of the country on vacation for the remainder of Feb. and March. Upon my return, I continued my attempts to reach Mats with no response. I then recalled the national Jiffy Lube Consumer Service office. They called the next day to say that Mats was refusing to pay the bills. The reason given was that I drove the vehicle too far after the service. I would mention that the they did check the oil level in the differential when the serviced the vehicle, as is indicated on the invoice, and they evidently failed to return the oil plug.
Due to the fact that the oil fill hole is at the top of the differential and is only 3/4 of an inch in diameter it would be, and was, a slow process for the oil to be splashed from the differential through this hole, which explains why I had driven several hundred miles before enough oil splashed from the differential to be noticeable while driving inside the motor home. The national office also refused to pay for the damage because Mats owned the station, however I would not have taken the motor home into the station if it had not been a national company, which I assumed would provide reputable service and warranted the work performed there.
Mats (Lief) Oskarsson not only owns the Bradanton Jiffy Lube but also owns 23 other lubercation facilities under the name of South Bay Lube, in west central Florida. I would like to take this matter to a Small Claims Court in FL, but due to the distance would need a Florida, consumer protection attorney to represent me. I would also like it to be known that Jiffy Lube does not back up the work done at their service shops.

There were six different employee numbers on my receipt and the manager said all six of them worked on my vehicle.
I have been a loyal customer of Jiffy Lube for several years and was actually going to start getting the oil change on two additional vehicles at this location. After what happened to me and the way the manager treated my complaint, I will never set foot in any Jiffy Lube again. There are other competitive establishments to get oil changed. I would hate to imagine what I would have been told if an improperly tightened oil pan nut etc. had caused the oil to leak out and blow an engine. Goodbye Jiffy Lube. I have already started telling people of my experience and am surprised at the number of similar incidents. BTW, they tried to tell me that my vehicle needed synthetic oil. It's a 2009 Toyota Corolla with about 32,000 miles! Give me a break Jiffy Lube!

I have just moved to the Baltimore area six months ago. I have seen the Jiffy Lube commercials so I plugged the address into my GPS. I was very glad to see that it was only a few miles from my home. I approached the store but I was unable to make a left turn into the store. I made a left as soon as I could. When I came around the building, I was approached by one of the technicians yelling, "Whoa, whoa, whoa." He then leaned in my window and proceeded to tell me that I drove in the wrong way. "You see those arrows? It took someone time to paint them." And he told me that I could have caused a serious accident. He also said that there is a car counter over there and he wanted me to back up (I was in front of doors) and go around the right way.
I asked him if he was sure that is what he wanted me to do. He said yes both times I asked. He added if I wouldn't mind. I then backed out and proceeded to drive out of there. Then, another man came. I assumed he was the manager as he was dressed better. He stepped in front of my car while it was moving and then yelled at me that I tried to run him over. The store was completely empty--all three stalls. When I pulled up, it was 2:45 pm on Wednesday, March 24th, 2010. Three men were standing around talking. I felt humiliated by these gentlemen. This situation ended bad for your company as I will never visit a Jiffy Lube again.
I found a cute little local place and for my Lincoln Navigator it only cost $25.00 including tax. I would like it noted that when you enter the store from the strip mall, the arrows are not visible. Maybe paint some more pretty white arrows for people to see. All I saw was the back doors that clearly said exit. I saw Jiffy Lube commercials to get me to go, but my situation could have been handled differently especially in an empty store. Thanks for listening and remember. I am telling everyone I know of my bad experience. How many people never let you know how they are treated?

Jiffy lube is charging $60 for air filter that you can pick up for $12 anywhere. I understand you are going to pay a little more for service than doing it yourself. But a 600% markup is ridiculous and misleading to customers, not only fraudulent to their customer base. The economic is that in these hard times everyone is trying to buy with what they have. And Jiffy Lube is stealing from the public. I will never use them again.

I took my vehicle to have an oil change at Jiffy Lube and the mechanic "found oil" in my coolant reservoir tank. They then asked me "if I had any enemies", claiming this could have been done by an outside person as sabotage or a mechanical issue. Then they offered a mechanic in the area who could fix my "blown head gasket" which they determined was the problem with my vehicle. My vehicle was running fine before bringing it in to Jiffy Lube.
I then took my vehicle to another mechanic who determined that the power steering fluid was "accidentally" put into the coolant tank instead of the power steering reservoir. These reservoirs are found next to each other on my vehicle. On my receipt, it was noted that the power steering fluid was topped off, but this was not the case. In fact there was power steering fluid (not oil as Jiffy Lube claimed) found on the outside of my coolant tank too.
Other fluid checks Jiffy Lube claimed to have done, were also not done, such as the windshield wiper fluid being checked and topped off. I brought the vehicle back to Jiffy Lube to have them completely flush the radiator, which they agreed to doing. When I arrived, their compression system was already shut down, so they could not do a proper flush. The mechanic on duty (also the manager) sucked what he could out of my radiator and added fresh coolant, but fully admitted he did not clear the entire system, thus leaving power steering fluid to circulate thru my system.
When I reported this and brought the vehicle back to Jiffy Lube to be fixed the next day, the manager of the store, William **, was rude and basically ignored me and then left the establishment without even checking to see if my vehicle had been fixed to my satisfaction. It was not. Important Facts; Date of service: 2/23/10, service performed on 1999 Ford Windstar, sales rep at Jiffy Lube is "Skye". Manager of Jiffy Lube is William **. Price for oil change and air filter was $79.64.

On 02-18-2010, I had my vehicle serviced at Jiffy Lube. The stated services performed were: Oil change, oil system cleaner, engine treatment, wiper blade change and brake light repair. On 03-03-10, the oil light began to flash and I exited the highway as quickly as I could. Upon stopping, the engine shut off and would not come back on. I had my vehicle towed to Auto Depot Mechanic Shop. My mechanic inspected the vehicle and stated that the engine oil was less than a half quart, the drain plug was not tightened and the engine oil was very dark in color. He also stated that my engine was locked and that I would need to replace it.
After receiving another opinion from a different mechanic, it seems as though an oil change and engine flush were not performed on 02-18-2010. At that point, I returned to the Jiffy Lube and completed an Incident Report. On 03-08-2010, Victor **, Zone Manager, conducted an inspection on my vehicle. He stated that he did not notice any blowout on the engine and that his company would not be paying for repair costs. As a consumer, I feel as though I have been taken advantage of. Then, he said it would cost an additional $39.99 for the differential cleaning. I agreed to that. Total was going to be around $100.00.
The manager named Brian was called. He agreed that I was misinformed, and deducted a mere $13.00 of my bill for the extra oil. Did not deduct the rest because the work was done. Then she says, “Well, I am not a mechanic.” I asked her then, “Why are you under my hood if you are not a mechanic.” She said that it may be a coincidence that my engine is doing that. I said no and that is stupid. You should have never done the flush if you didn't know what you are doing.
My truck is now at a shop waiting for a mechanic to look at it to see if it was their fault or mine. All I did was to go on their recommendation to flush the engine. Whose fault is it? If they were using a sales ploy, they ruined my engine and they are going to pay because my certified mechanic already knows they should never have done what they did. They really had no knowledge of what they were doing and my mechanic will be up their tail pipes while they try to determine what happened. Never ever go to Jiffy Lube ever again. On November 16, 2009, I took my Audi A4 to Jiffy Lube to have it serviced because I just bought it the day before and it needed it. Well, my son, my wife and I were waiting for the car to be finished, when a worker came out and got me and told me that they couldn’t my oil because the bolt was striped. So I told them to forget it and to put our front valence back on. So they did and I went home.
The next morning my 7-month old baby, my wife, and I were driving down the highway when the valence came undone and was dragging along the road. I had no tools and didn’t know what to do. I have to drive slow and let it drag till I got to the closest mechanic 7 miles away. It’s like 20 degrees. It cost me $35 to have someone to take the rest of it off before it caught on fire. I went back later that day, and they told us that they would take care of it because they didn’t but all the bolts back in or right. So they told me that they would take care of it and call me when they had a valence to put on it and they would put it on as well.
So a couple months went by and no one called me. In those couple months I called them once and they were still working on it. So yesterday, 1/6/10, I went to Jiffy Lube and they handed me a piece of paper and told me that I needed to order it and when I get it they will put it on and give me $70. Now why should I have to pay anything? I didn’t not put it on right. And to top it all off the bolt that they said was stripped, the only reason why it was stripped is because they were pushing on it to get it off and it would come off, so they just kept pushing on it till they made it way worse. I had to replace that which was about $7 for the bolt and about $80 for the mechanics time. Don’t go to Jiffy Lube if you are prepared to have your car get ruined and then not pay for it.

I got an oil change done at Jiffy Lube on my 2002 BMW 330I on 12/17/09. Two days later (12/19/09), I'm getting on the freeway and the hood flies up almost causing us to wreck with my girlfriend driving and my 14month old daughter. I got out the hood was still attached but bent backwards and damaged beyond repair. I was able to close the hood and drive it to Jiffy Lube, filled out incident report and took pictures. The manager tried to tell me that I had a faulty latch but even with the hood bent backwards and the latch bent it still locked in place. The latch is not faulty, proved that to him and he then told me that they would take care of it.
The manager Damon told me to go get 2 estimates and I did and brought them back to him. He then said he would call me back when the paperwork went through. I haven't been able to drive the car for 3 weeks and no call from them. I called several times and he kept telling me that there was no problem, it was going to be taken care of and not to worry too much. He never once called me. I always had to call him at least 10 times. Then I call on 1/9/10 and he tells me that it wasn't their fault that in his experience, he's never had a hood do that so he claims that there was a faulty latch and hood and that Jiffy Lube will not pay for anything. So I had my girlfriend go there to get records of my car and when she got there, he started to harass her tell her that I was trying to pull a scam then said "he would see her in court".
My hood is damaged beyond repair, estimate of $1600. All I want them to do is put a new hood on it and that's it. I want it to look like it did when I brought it to them for the oil change.

He came back and told me that all he saw was that I needed an oil change; I was a quart low.
I went to observe what he was talking about, and he showed me the oil coming out of the engine. It was black, and the only thing that was new was the oil filter. I took pictures of the oil running out black and placed some in a cup also displaying the black thick oil. I am extremely disappointed in the way that I was treated at this facility. if it wasn't for me going to my regular mechanic, I would have never knew, and my car could have cracked an engine head or anything.
When I called the store, I spoke with the manager Mark ** and his response was "Well, how do I know that it was our fault. You did not bring the car here." And as I expressed to him that I had no idea this was just what the mechanic saw, I was not aware until he pulled me out there to see it for my self. And after talking to Mr. ** and the demeanor that he displayed towards me, it allowed me to feel this way wholeheartedly.
And I feel that since I was not included in your pledge as a customer that Jiffy Lube would do the rightful thing and refund me my money for the service that I did not receive at your Tacoma Park facility. Also, refund me for the oil change that I had to get a second time as an inconvenience from the service that I received at one of your facilities.

San Jose, California. Jiffy Lube Service Center #2344.
Our 1999 VW Passat was serviced on November 16th at the local Camden (San Jose) Jiffy Lube for a scheduled oil change. The vehicle was driven for approximately 15 miles, at which point, all of the oil had leaked out from the vehicle and the car wouldn't start. The next morning, the car was towed to the JL branch which previously serviced the vehicle.
Without our knowledge or consent, the District Manager personally replaced (which was believed to be the problem) the broken oil filter housing gasket. In the state of California, it is illegal to perform any service repair without the prior approval of the owner and his or her's verbal or written consent. After the fact, we were informed of the repair on our vehicle and were told that the vehicle was ready for pick-up.
In order to make up for this inconvenience, they offered up the next oil change at no cost and replaced the gasket free of charge. We later have found through other JL branches that it is not common policy to repair vehicle parts, unless they feel directly responsible for the break in the vehicle. Other fellow employees confirmed that it is not in their nature to perform repairs, as they can be held liable for improper repairs (also warranty is not issued on any repairs).
Exactly after vehicle pick-up, the oil light had come on indicating that the problem was much deeper than what was originally repaired. The car was brought into a VW dealership later that week to diagnose the extent to which the engine was damaged. According to the engine tear down preformed by the VW dealership, the low oil pressure in the engine resulted in permanent damages to the engine and turbo. There was low oil pressure in the engine caused from the car being driven low on oil. After physically examining the gasket, a VW certified technician, went on record, saying that the damages on the gasket can only be explained by over tightening the oil filter so that the cooler housing begins to spin on the filter stand union causing the housing gasket to break. This is further explained by the inner tabs on the gasket, which were broken (this is only apparent when the oil filter is over-torqued causing the gasket to spin off and the inner tabs to break).
At first, the District Manager took a stance, saying that due to the mileage and old age of the car, a rip in the gasket would not be covered by JL, as they didn't feel responsible for it breaking. They have later tried offering $1,000 and $1,600 to cover expenses. It has been an ongoing battle with Jiffy Lube's District Manager and Anthony Fanticola & Joann Fanticola Family LP (Owner) to try and negotiate a reasonable price for the damages caused by the gross negligence in servicing our 1999 VW Passat. We are seeking compensation equal to a comparable engine and turbo, along with any incidentals such as the diagnostics. This has caused us a great inconvenience both in terms of going to work and attending school (during finals week). This has limited both my professional and social life in the last month and a half. It has been quite the run-around trying to talk to them, and getting information regarding to who to file the complaint, getting estimates, asking for rides, etc.

He said that the oil filter had fallen out of the car. He added oil and another filter, but the car would not start. He made arrangements for the car to be towed. He said that they would accept full responsibility and would pay for the repairs. I informed him that the car was under warranty and would have to be fixed at a Suzuki service station. He said that would be fine and that they would have it towed to a station they work with to diagnose the problem then transport it to a Suzuki service station to fix it.
Today, the service station said that the engine needs to be replaced. The district manager of Jiffy Lube, Lou, refused to pay for Suzuki to fix it. He said that he would have the service station, Neighbors Auto, fix it. Again, we told him that our warranty would be nullified if a non-Suzuki station fixes it. He said that he would give us $2000. But when my husband asked him how much it would cost to replace the engine, he said it would be about $6000. He expected us to pay the difference, or we could take him to court.

This first started when I had an oil change and they told me that I needed a new battery back in about Feb of 2009. They put one in at the rate of $90.00 when I told them I would go next door and see what Checker Auto's price was. I was told that they are the same. Okay, I believed them being a woman and thinking a business would not rip me off. After that for about a month, I had to keep having my car jumped. They said nothing was wrong with it. My friend came over and looked at it. He noticed that it was over 2 years old! We went down to Jiffy Lube, I was told to come back the next day when Steve, the manager, would be there.
Steve proceeded to tell me that the date did not matter. After I insisted that I wanted a newer one, he did put one in (although it was around 9 months old), then told me it was my terminal. So we put one on the negative side. As for this issue, he stated that he had already put a new terminal on the positive side when he installed the battery. For the next few months, it has been running sluggish but again, I was told the battery was fine, that it must be my car?! The past few months, I knew it was not running correct but Jiffy Lube insisted that it's fine. Well it started to just die on me and I would have to have it jumped and it would have this smell of fire! After I had it jumped on July 11, 2009, I came home and again it smelled of fire. I pulled it out of garage and it did start the next morning and evening although not running right.
Monday, 7/13/09, it started in the morning and I went down to Jiffy Lube. They said nothing was wrong, but after work that afternoon, I had to have it jumped again. I went down the street for gas and it died again, jumped it again and came home. It smelled awful! Then next morning, I was supposed to go to work at 6:30AM and thought I better check on the car and again, it was dead! I had to call into both jobs for the day so I could get to the bottom of this being I live alone and have no means of transportation. I called my friend who knows a few things about cars. He came over and looked at everything over and noticed that the cable was completely melted and the terminal was not even on it. There was nothing left but a little nub and black smoke on the hood. He said, "Let's just take it down to Jiffy Lube, show them the results of their neglect, being they put this in."
It has not been right and they refused to correct it! Steve proceeded to tell me that it was my fault and not theirs or the battery, and he would take a loss if he gives me a new battery and that I have wiring issues! He put the battery tester on and stated that of 525, I had 517!? We took the battery back home, put it back in my car, got it jumped and drove it to Checker Auto to be tested. Well as soon as they opened the hood, they asked, "Who put that battery in?!" Well, it was your neighbor Jiffy Lube, telling me I have the problem and not them! They freaked. All the black smoke, a hole in the pad and a big ark mark, besides a bulging battery! They said I was lucky that it didn't blow up or completely catch my car on fire or kill me! The battery was too big for my car they only got around 325 on the battery tester that Jiffy said was 517.
I took it over to Jiffy Lube, oh my. My book states that this is what goes in it?! Not! He said it was the book's mistake (good one). I insisted on my money back and was calling an attorney and the main office. I went to Checker, got the correct size and he then proceeded to tell me he replaced the positive terminal. No, it was the negative. He made me go buy a positive one at Checker and it's the book's fault?! I missed 12 hours of work! The stress with having no money and working two part-time jobs to make ends meet and I got told it's wiring problems and to take it to a shop to be looked at. And he was worried about losing 90.00 ** dollars! I lost a lot more than that! I have dealt with this and the stress for months worrying if I'm going to get from point A to point B daily! I am giving you this information to see what can be done for your management/companies/books neglect before I contact my attorney.

I got stuck in a four-hour traffic jam on I-95, and I decided to replace the oil. I pulled into Jiffy Lube and asked about the price of change oil and flush radiator. I was told $39 and $89, respectively. I decided the oil change would do, since $89 for anti-freeze seems ridiculously high and $39 for oil was also high, but I'm in the south and wasn't going to risk losing my car. They took my car in and called me over for a pow-wow. I was told matter-of-factly that my radiator is empty, none of my lights work, wiper blades, etc. They had run up hundreds of dollars in bogus maintenance. I walked out to the bay, opened my radiator overflow cap, stuck two fingers in, and pulled them out wet and slick. I caught them flat-out fraud!
This is criminal! All lights worked upon my inspection with the manager. I told them to just change the oil and filter, since they already sucked the oil out. They put on a new filter and filled the oil. Then one of them walked up to the front left corner of my car and started turning a screwdriver, deliberately misaligning my left headlight! That is criminal mischief at least, if not risking a catastrophe at worst. The oil is still filthy. I have a ten-hour to twelve-hour drive home from here.

I entered Jiffy Lube for a basic oil and air filter change. Upon leaving the establishment and entering a gas station a few blocks away, I realized my door handle was broken and the broken part was thrown under the driver's seat of the car. I returned to Jiffy Lube and the manager on duty immediately assessed the damage and wrote an incident report. The report stated that the store would reimburse me for the part and they would replace it. Upon calling the dealer, I was informed that the electrical system would be involved when replacing the part; therefore, I decided to have the dealer to do the work.
I had the part replaced at the dealership, faxed the bill to corporate and was told that all that the store could offer was the balance in gift checks to any Jiffy Lube location. I declined the offer explaining my dissatisfaction with my experience and requested full reimbursement. The response was, "Sorry, that's all we have to offer you." Due to the negligence, I am now out of $140 plus the cost of the oil and filter change, without any remorse from the company. I feel that due to the negligence of the mechanics on duty, the store should be responsible for reimbursing me for the full balance.

I took my wife's car in for an oil and filter change. This is a newer car, 2008 Audi Q7. It has an internal filter element so I was alright with the $104 cost for maintenance for 7.4qt synthetic oil and filter. When I got home, I checked the oil. It seemed a little overfilled and dirty. I was curious about this internal filter and what all was involved with replacing it. I looked under the car and found the filter housing. Just looking at it, I could tell it wasn't even touched. It had road dust build-up and showed no sign of being removed. I drained the oil and checked the filter. No surprise, it still had the old (dealership made in Germany filter). The invoice states they put on a new HL8158 filter, which obviously they did not!
I went back to Jiffy Lube and spoke with the manager. I showed him the filter that we took off. He agreed that they do not carry the German filter so obviously, it had not been changed. I asked for a full refund and he said the best he could do was fill out a customer complaint form and send it in to their headquarters. Seriously, these people have one of the most basic jobs in the world and they can't even get it right. So now I have to waste more time and money trying to make it right.

I need to let you know what happened at Jiffy Lube #3288 on Saturday 6/20/09 at 1:15 p.m.
I have been getting my 2 new cars oil changed at this location since day one of these cars, a 2008 Toyota Corolla and a 2008 Kia Optima. I could not help questioning the speed at which the oil changes were getting done. I actually loved it until today. I marked on the side of the oil filter with my son's initials on the Optima before getting the oil changed. I just wanted to make sure the job was actually getting done. I received the oil change in the same speedy manner. I returned home and lifted my hood. To my surprise and disappointment, the initials were still there! I could not believe my eyes.
I went back to the store and told them what happened. They took me underneath to show me today's date was put on the bottom of the filter, not realizing my son's initials were on the side, which made me even more disappointed that they would not only avoid changing the oil filter, but would try to hide this by putting today's date on the bottom of the filter. The assistant manager (Willie) apologized and gave me my next oil change free of charge. Can I really accept this offer? Will they really do the job I am paying for every time? Do I really have to mark my oil filter every time I return?

On 6/19/09 at 3:59 PM with 188,334 miles on my 1998 Toyota 4Runner, I asked Jiffy Lube on #1261, Shelburne Rd., South Burlington, VT 05403 to do a high mileage oil change and tire rotation. The invoice reflects that the tires were not rotated but that the oil and filter were changed and various other checks were made to my vehicle for $40.83.
While driving south on Route 116 on 6/20/09 at approximately 1:15 pm with 188,372 miles on my SUV, the engine oil light came on. My car shut down, and I coasted to the side of the road. Checking my oil, I found that it was bone dry, and a film of oil coated the entire backside of my car. AAA provided the tow to Heritage Toyota in South Burlington, VT for $114.00. I spoke with Jiffy Lube (Andy, manager) and provided notice that I would be making a claim. There can be no question that the life span of the engine was compromised by running the vehicle without oil. Andy advised that he would arrange for a car rental on Monday, June 22, 2009, so that I would not have to incur out-of-pocket expense.
On 6/22/09, while speaking with Andy about the car rental, he advised that he went to Heritage and viewed my vehicle and that the oil pan plug was gone. Plugs in oil pans that are tightened properly do not just fall out. It would appear that it was not tight when I left Jiffy Lube and fell out after driving no more than 38 miles. I was provided with an Enterprise Car Rental. I drove to Jiffy Lube to collect a refund of $40.83 for the failed signature service. Andy stated that corporate would send me a check covering all costs at one time. I missed 4 hours of work ($131.16).
Late this afternoon (6/22/09), I received a call from Heritage Toyota. They filled my vehicle with oil and replaced the missing oil pan plug. In addition, they let it run to determine if knocking was present indicating an immediately larger problem with the engine. Without a borescope inspection or completely examining the engine by taking it apart, there is no way to determine the extent of damage that resulted by driving the car without oil. Because the vehicle was empty of oil, a full engine oil analysis to establish if any white metal was present in the oil could not be conducted and any indication of damage to vital bearings could not be determined. Accepting my car back without some type of vehicle service agreement from you would certainly be foolish.
Heritage suggested that for a period of three oil changes (every 3,000 miles) or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first, should there be indicators (engine knock, vehicle using oil, oil leaks, metal shavings, or engine failure due to lubricated engine part and component failures), Jiffy Lube will pay for the repair or component replacement resulting from any lubrication-related engine damage. All lubricated engine parts and components (cylinder heads, oil pump, pistons, and engine) would be covered. Oil changes and repairs, if any, will be performed by Heritage or other certified Toyota dealership. Related costs (tow, car rental, time from work) will be paid for by Jiffy Lube. If I sold or traded my vehicle, this VSA is not transferable. Total cost is $382.48.
Yesterday, I received a call from Jiffy Lube, asking me to pick up a paper to sign so that I could get paid. I picked up the paper today, and it was the boiler plate release of all claims past, present, and future in exchange for $251.32. The manager said that I wouldn't get paid until I signed the release. A copy follows. How absurd.
$251.32 is less than the amount claimed, and in light of the above recommendation from the Toyota dealership, signing the release flies in the face of common sense. Yet, I cannot get paid my out-of-pocket, unless I sign the release not knowing what further damages (engine knock, vehicle using oil, oil leaks, metal shavings, or engine failure due to lubricated engine part and component failures) from their negligence may occur. My recourse is to provide copies of all of this to investors, bankruptcy trustees, boards of directors, national and local better business bureaus, Vermont's Attorney-General, the general public, and anyone else I can think of who may have a direct bearing on the sustainability of Heartland and Jiffy Lube.

I took my car in for an oil change on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday evening, I was driving down the interstate and my engine light came on. The temp gauge shot to hot and the engine shut off (all withing 3-5 seconds). I opened the hood and there was this blue fluid all over the engine. The radiator cap was missing but later found in the engine compartment. I pulled out the dip stick to check the oil level, but it melted. I called Jiffy Lube, told them what happened, they sent someone out and they made a cell phone call to the manager. I called a tow truck to take my car to be repaired so I got hold of Jiffy Lube the next day and they denied the whole thing. I contact the district manager who said their people did not take the cap off and they are not liable. I contacted corporate who doesn't want to deal with the issue. Basically, I was told, "Too bad, so sad, it is not our problem and you can't prove anything." Due to a lack of anti freeze, the engine overheated, cracking the head. I needed to get a new engine costing me over $5500. I also had to pay for the tow and a rental for a week and a half.

It was hot and I was sweating so when I got through vacuuming the rest of my car, I reached over and got a couple of Kleenex to wipe the sweat off my face and I flip the mirror cover on my sun visor and that is when I noticed that someone at Jiffy Lube broke my mirror cover. They had put the piece of plastic back on so that I wouldn't see. I know that they did it because there is dirt and what looks like oil on the cloth side that doesn't have the mirror. They didn’t flip it because I would have noticed.
When I went back and told the manager that they broke my mirror, he denied it. I know that one of the guys did it because it was fine when I got in the car to take it to get an oil change. Besides me, the guys at Jiffy Lube were the only ones in my new car. I want them to replace my mirror. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General and the 4 news stations here. We took our 2002 Altima for a oil change, and 2 weeks later, our engine died. When we checked for oil, to our surprise, there was no oil. We checked under the car to see if we had a leak, but nothing. We called Jiffy Lube. They told us that we had to get the car towed to an auto mechanic and if they determine the cause of the engine failure was with the oil, they would repair it and cover any expenses cause by this problem. We had to get a rental.
When we reported the mechanics findings to Jiffy Lube, they turned around and said that now we had to tear down the engine to failure and they will then send a 3rd party to check the engine and make sure that was the cause. To me and the mechanic who already checked the car, that's not necessary. I think they just want to find something to blame me and make me responsible for the damage they caused.
We have been going on with this problem for about 4 months. They will not do anything until I told the shop to tear down the engine. But I can't do that because i feel they are going to come back and blame it on me. And that alone will cost me $2500 and $3500 to replace the engine. Because of them, we are struggling with one car and we had to return the rental because it was getting costly for us. All I want is for them to replace my engine, so I can get my car back. Never again will my friends, family, and my self go there.

I purchased a 1999 Lexus RX 300 from Ohio 02-18-09, which was fully serviced that same day. On 04-20-09, I took my auto to Jiffy Lube in Bourbonnais, Illinois for an oil change. I felt like my service was rushed, and was very quick. Seeing that it was the end of the day, I didn't complain. My oil indicator light pop on while driving later that day. I thought this was strange, I let my auto sit for a couple of hours. I then took my auto for a drive and the light went off. Making a long story short, 05-31-09 driving 70 miles per hours on the interstate, my engine locked up! I called Triple-A getting my auto towed to a local automotive repair shop.
The scanner diagnosis indicated there was no oil in the engine and a small amount on the oil filter. The oil filter was loose and the undercarriage of the car has no oil on it. Typically, if there was an oil leak, the undercarriage would be saturated with oil, which is not the case. After hearing this, I called Jiffy Lube district manager of the Bourbonnais, Illinois location. The district manager sent a couple of Jiffy Lube employees to take a look at my auto. I then contacted the district manager for the report. I was told the filter was not the Jiffy Lube branded filter. After several questions, I was told by the manager that someone must have drained my oil out and changed out my filter after Jiffy Lube. I know that is not possible due to my car being locked and stored in my garage, unless driving which was stated. Conversation continued, in which the manager suggested I may have enemies or people who don't like me, that drained my oil and changed my filter.
I feel this was an unrealistic statement and was being taken as a joke. He also added there was no way Jiffy Lube would have not change to filter repeatedly. The web-site ** indicates differently. The BBB states there has been no claims against Jiffy Lube. This clearly is false documentation. I find this very misleading.
Getting a detailed description and photos of the oil filter that was on my auto after my conversation with the manager, I contacted the dealership I purchased my auto from and I am able to prove my oil filter was never changed by Jiffy Lube!
I paid $43.29 for a signature service 4/4 PZL high mile10W30B oil change with upgrades, as well as new PH3614-PZ21oil filter! My oil filter wasn't changed, there isn't any oil in my engine. There isn't a sign of an oil leak on the undercarriage of my auto and now my engine is locked up! Not to mention, how this event has effected my professional and personal life!
I am reaching out to corporate in hopes of help! I am going to be making phone calls tomorrow, in hopes of getting this problem resolved! Not receiving a paid for service is fraud! If this problem cannot be resolved in a timely fashion, legal action can take place!

I took my wife's car to be serviced at Jiffy Lube. After getting the oil and lube upon leaving, I saw 2 lights on on my dashboard. I went to Advanced Auto and had them pull up the codes on the car. One code was "intake air temp high" and the other was "trac off." I googled the problems and found that the trac off code caused the car to shift very hard, which it did. Diagnostics didn't zero in on the exact problem, but did list many possibilities. Costs varied from $40 to over $2,000 on the traction problem. I thought that since the information said that some codes caused other codes to appear, I'd check the intake high air temp first. Glad that I did! I did a visual check under the hood, looking at the intake, and found that the sensor wiring was cut; cut clean with wire cutters. I took apart the P-J connector, forced it apart to get the wires out of it, reconnected it, and the light was still on.
I looked further and found that the wiring was also cut at the harness bundle. I repaired this also. I went again to Advanced Auto, had them pull up the codes again, reset them and the car has been fine since. I am not looking for compensation because it only took 2 hours of my time, some electrical tape and 2 wire nuts. I do know now that no one in my family nor my friends will go back to that chain. I also belong to 3 different fraternal organizations, which collectively the number is close to 4,000 members. I will be sharing my story with them.

He reported the last visit they must have overfilled my power steering fluid, and offered to remove the excess. This took a few minutes after the oil change was completed. I do bring 3 vehicles to this location and I would hope they are all very well trained.
I do not wish to have any future problems. I took my wife's 1997 Chevy Blazer in for a routine oil change and on the way to work the next day (7 mi) when she stopped at a red light, the engine cut off. Two guys got out of their trucks and told her not to try to start it because there was a lot of oil leaking out from under her Blazer. We had it towed to our mechanic and then I went to the Jiffy Lube to let them know what had happen. They told me they need to look at it and they have their own mechanic. They went to my mechanic and changed the oil and filter very quickly and brought it back to the Jiffy Lube where they serviced the vehicle and had their mechanics look at it. They told me that according to their mechanic there is no damage done to the vehicle and was ok. Jiffy Lube refunded the money for the oil change and the one day rental car and I was on my way.
About two months later, we noticed a knock coming from the engine so we took it to our mechanic and he determined that it is a major problem with the engine and was directly related to the Jiffy Lube error. I then talked to Hector, the Jiffy Lube manager I dealt with when this problem first happened and he gave me his district manager's number. I called Gilbert ** and he told me he had to check if the oil filter was the brand they use. He sent an employee and he determined it was the brand and he also argued it had almost 100k miles on it and this is normal.
My mechanic disagrees. I then had the truck transferred to Power Chevrolet dealership for the heavier work. We are out of a vehicle and it sounds like they don't want to pay and I am not sure what to do now. Gilbert ** said to send him a legal document stating this was caused by the Jiffy Lube error and he will send it to his claims office. I have one document from my mechanic and I am waiting for Chevy dealer's determination. I spent $124.00 on inspection at my mechanics and Chevy is charging $1100.00 for the internal inspection taking oil pan off and this amount will go toward the repair.

I admit fault at not getting an oil change in a timely manner, but I feel that's wrong for that attendant to come up with that lame excuse not to provide me an oil change service. That discrimination. This is not the first complaint that I've file against jiffy but It will be the last.

I took my 1989 Geo Metro to Jiffy Lube, for a quick oil change, they after checking told me my transmission oil was burnt out, and needed to be vacuumed out before new oil could be added. The vacuum was $110. I never heard of vacuuming oil out, they said it must be done. My total bill was $146.

On 9/11 we had the oil changed on our 2002 Xterra, 19 days later the engine seized due to LACK OF OIL. $900 worth of diagnostic tests at the Nissan dealer and an independent 3rd party investigator agree - the ONLY thing wrong with the car was that there was no oil in it. Jiffy Lube is refusing to pay for the damages - upwards of $8k since we need an entire new engine.

The charge for oil was $15 and the labor and parts was 37.00 on top of the $15 oil charge. This is consumer ripoff, they never once informed me that they would charge me close to $60 for an oil change.

On Sept 13, 2008 I took my car (Mazda 2008 cx7) for a standard oil changeat Jiffy Lube. Before they changed they oil they informed me that my car has to have SYNTHETIC OIL BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS A TURBO. I questioned them and asked them are you sure? They insisted that if I do not choose the synthetic oil they would not be responsible if anything happened to the car. So I gave them the OKAY.
When they finished they called me in to where the car was to tell me that my car had an oil leak between the engine and transmission and that I should have it checked out. I was surprised to hear that since the car is NEW. Today I took time off from work and took my car to the dealer AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR. He made the order and I waited an hr and ahalf, again out of work, I almost had to get a rental car.
When the mechanics at the dealer lifted the car first they advised me that my car can never have the SYNTHETIC OIL, it is not good and I have to change it to the regular oil! SECOND, THERE IS NO LEAK! THIRD, THEY FOUND OIL OVER FILL, WHICH IS BAD FOR MY CAR ALSO. IN ADDITION TO THIS THEY FOUND THE FLUID LEVELS LOW!
A standard oil change is $30.00, instead of the$81.30 that Jiffy Lube charged me without a need, AND TO ADVISE ME OF FALSE INFORMATION. I MAKE $39.06 AN HR, I WAS OUT OF WORK FOR APPROX 1HR AND 1 HALF. ($58.59)AND I ALSO HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TO REMOVE THE SYNTHETIC OIL, $30.00.
JIFFY LUBE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. THEY DID NOT PERFORM THE WORK AS EXPECTED. I EXPECT SOME TYPE OF EXPLANATION IF ANY, REIMBURSEMENT FOR ECONOMIC LOSS.

Two days later my radiator light was coming on and off. Next morning I checked my radiator fluid bottle and found out that was born bry and I had to add one mixed gallon of antifreeze and water. Then the only 2 working, both worked on 2nd. Was a truck & kept talking with him. When it was 5:55 I interupted & asked why it took 2 of them to work on 1 car?
@ 6pm he was topping off oil & fluids...then added air to tires. I asked him how much he was inflating them to. he said 35. I said...no wonder my car rode hard b/4. My tires should b inflated to only 32lbs. So now I am having to wait fot him to take out pressure. I was drivng away @ 6:15.
There was no pyhsical damage to be seen but I'm sure it was hard on my tires to be over inflated for a mo. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Jiffy Lube. OH, he also gave me a bogus # to call when I asked him for a Corp# or Boss #. I only wish I had gotten his name--because if he was my employee, he would be looking for another job today.

your problem is not being passed around. We just don't own that location and are not liable for it. You are free to do and contact who you need to contact, but Heartland cannot take any action with your claim.

I went to Jiffy Lube in Feb. 2008 for a simple oil change. This was my first, and last time. I have always changed my own oil every since I was 16 and the only reason I went there was because it was cold outside. I am a 21 year old female (not the every day **) but I know everything there is to know about cars, especially my own vehichle! Needless to say when I get there they try to best to pressure me into unnessary repairs, I'm talking a list of stuff, some I already knew about, others they were simply making up. For example, they kept bothering me about carburated issues when my car is fuel-injected!!! I've replaced everything from the fuel pump to drive shaft on my own, I think I know what I'm doing and was just plain insulted when they continued to act like I had no clue.
After my oil change, I went home and as I was getting out of my car I noticed oil dripping, I popped the hood to find a HUGE gash in the oil lines, and this was a fresh cut!! I don't know if it was done on purpose or not but when I went back to complain they said it was an old car, things break all the time. This was not broken, it was cut (and right beside the new oil filter) how convenient! I don't know which is worst, someone insulting my intelligence and assuming because I am a women I don't know my own car, or ruining perfectly good parts just so I would come back and have them fix it!
I almost forgot, my sister (who knows NOTHING about cars) also went there and had her oil changed, however she paid $100 for hers, charging her $35 for a FILTER! Ladies, you can buy a filter for $4 at Autozone! If your a woman, be prepared to be ripped off!!!

On 9/5/08 I went into JL for the first time here. On completion of their oil change and service, I was given a receipt that showed only 2 chassis fittings were lubed. When I questioned only 2 fittings being lubed, I was told that's all we could find. After some research and consulting my owner manual on a 1986 Isuzu PUP, I found there are at least 8 grease fittings. I returned to the location on 9/8 and complained to the Manager, Vince.
When commenting about the lack of service and quality of the lube tech who worked on my vehicle, I was told by Vince, Well, I have to work with what I have. So I can only assume they hire unqualified techs and have no training program and no customer/ vehicle safety concerns. They put the vehicle on the rack again and on releasing the vehicle again, the Mgr told me they found 7 fittings this time. I asked about the u-joint/driveline fittings and was told 'we couldn't find any'. U-joints have grease fittings. They aren't that hard to find. Not many places to 'hide' them.
I had the manual with me and tried to show Vince the diagram showing the fittings and he wouldn't even look at the book. When I told him that if I find there are, in fact, u-joint grease fittings I would be filing a small claims suit against them, his reply was Fine and walked away from me. How many other 'valued' customers do not get proper lube service and suffer mechanical failure and unnecesary wear later due to JL's negligence?
Unnecessary time and gas to return to the location. Knowing there are more than 2 fittings likely saved me major mechanical failure in the future.

Upon trying to start the car the engine made a high pitched whistle. The store manager assured me that my car would be towed first thing in the morning to their mechanic.
The next day after finding a ride to the mechanic i found that my car would be sitting in an empty parking lot all weekend while the shop was closed. I bought the car less than 600 miles ago and had a full inspection done at the time of purchase.

I was on a four Lane Hwy going 70 miles per hour so in a matter of seconds my vechicle was no longer under my control and ny the grace of god I was able to get over to the shoulder of the road.
It was towed to a Toyota delearship where it was discovered that the vechicle simply had run out of oil and the oilfilter was gone. The dealer ship has several theories and all of them go back to Jiffy Lube either not putting enough oil in the vechicle, not putting the oil filter on tight enough or not putting on an oil filter to begin with. The damages to My Toyota's engine is $11,000.00. I only owe $10,000.00 left to pay on my car and its blue book value is around $16,000.00. So The dealership will not vaildate the warranty on my vechile because of the missing oil filter.
My echicle is completely worthless at this point due to the damage. I have always maintained my vechicle and was in a state of equity because I only owed $10,000.00 and the vechicle had a value of $16,000.00. I thought this is a good efficient use of time for everyone. NOT!! I looked out and they had already started and I still didn't know how much the charge was going to be. How did I know if I could afford it?
They told me that I needed an air filter and I gave my ok. He told me the charges would be $61.81 and I told him to just replace the air filter and forget the oil change. He told me he had already done it and that they would just have to put the old oil back in it. This brings to my mind that either they would put nothing back in (I wouldn't know until it was too late) or they would put back the dregs of oil from heaven only knows how many oil changes had been drained into that drum or place or whatever they use to collect the drained oil from other cars. That thought scared me and I let them intimidate me into allowing the oil change.
There were several men around my vehicle for an inordinate amount of time after this conversation happened. All that was needed at the time of this conversation was for the man to put the top back on the filter holder and that should have been it, drive my car out and let me pay. After all he had already told me that they had already changed the oil. The whole thing rang shifty to me.
I tried calling the 18003458237 number on the back of the receipt. I got a message to leave my name and number and I would get a call back. I got a call/message to call and ask for Mike's extension #278. I did this and he isn't answering, I leave another message with a time frame when I would be home and I still have not heard from him.

The cabin air filter so I told them to replace it and I asked how much? They told me it was $49.95 and they could give me $10.00 off. Then I was asked if I would like a copy of the invoice before I paid and I said yes. The gentleman wanted me to give him me credit card without me knowing how much the bill came to. He came back to the car with out an invoice and told me that the services were $99.95.
Well when you add the two together it is only $89.90 and I was supposed to have $20 off. I gave him the coupon after I was told repeatedly that they did not need it yet and then I reminded the gentlemen that I was also to get $10 off of the air filter. So he went back and got me a copy of the reciept and on my bill it was $68.85. Yet I still did not recieve a invoice. After he had taken my card and brought me an invoice because I had to sign for the services performed and for the card did I finally see a bill. When I saw the bill I also noticed that they had asked me if I wanted my radiator fluid topped off and that service would be $4.95. That was not even on there as to being check and I was not billed for it.
I was really disapointed because it was my first time to a Jiffy Lube and I am sure that it will be my last. Very unorganized and a lack of comunication between employees. I also checked over the internet on prices for the air filter and I seen that if I would have purchased it myself it would have been $23.95 before tax. I believe that I was scammed on this issue being that the air filter cost me $49.99 at Jiffy Lube and I realize that there has to be a price increase I understand that but I believe that $26 is a big increase and I know it was not to cover labor because it did not even take the gentlemen 5 minutes to change the air filter. My father became upset, knowing that the last place it was serviced was that Jiffy Lube. He told them this, and told them that they needed to flush it for free. Rather than perform the services requested and paid for, the tech dumped oil into his radiator fluid as some kind of passive aggressive retaliation.
Since that time, my father's car has had numerous problems with overheating and is having to have his mechanic flush all of the systems at a cost of 350.00. We noticed the problem on a trip across the state and we were dangerously close to breaking down in 100 degree weather. We had my three year old daughter in the car, and Jiffy Lube's actions not only cost my parents a lot of money, but put my daughter at risk. I took my car to Jiffy Lube yesterday Aug. 16, 2008 to get an oil change. After the job was done, I drove back to my house approx. 1 mile. My wife got in the car to go to work and when she turned the car on the engine started to rev, the tachometer was reving above the 2-300 range, and I was forced to take the car back to jiffy lube. The mechanic said he forgot to put the hose back on, and he fooled around with it for a minute or so. Afterwards it seemed okay until we left to go on our vacation.
As we drove down 295 S. the enginge started to accelerate by itself, then it would choke and the car started jolting, and we ended up at the T&A truck stop at exit 18. The diesel mechanics checked it out and said the throttle sensor looked like it had gotten oil or something dropped on it, and that's what they think problem is.
Now it also sounds like the rear brakes are gring, which wasn't happening before I took the car for the oil change. I drove it back home for the night, an am forced to take it back there today for them to try to fix. This has caused us to loose two days of our vacation and whatever expense it is going to cost. My wife is threatening to sue Jiffy Lube and this whole experience has ruined our vacation. The car was running fine until I took it to Jiffy Lube, now I don't know what other problems they have caused at my expense, and I think that something should be done to see that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
I don't know the extent of the damage yet, but I do know our vacation to Florida is ruined and my 19 year old daughter and her 20 year old boyfriend are stuck in Tampa waiting for us to get there to continue our trip. They flew down last night. We have their luggage in the car and we're stuck here. This is ridiculous. Somebody needs to do something about Jiffy Lube and it's practices. I will contact an attorney when I find out the full extent of damages caused by the Jiffy Lube co.

Jan 2008 I took my BMW to Jiffy Lube on Mt Moriah for and oil change. I had no problems with my car after, so I decided to go back in July to have them do the work again. The Jiffy Lube on Mt Moriah had closed by then so I went to the Poplar location. After sitting for an hour one of the techs came and asked me where did I have my last oilc change.
When I said the Jiffy Lube on Mt Moriah he rolled his eyes. He said that while changing my oil the first time the tech at the Mt Moriah store broke my drain plug and although he was able to get the top of itoutthere was still part of it stuck in the hole. He told me that they would have to get an instrument to pull the other piece of the plug out and replace the plug. I was furious because I had spoken so highly of them and thought that they had done a good job in spite of the fact people were telling me not to go to them. About 15 min later the tech came back to me and said that it was all taken care of and they had replaced the plug.
Before I left the manager (Scott) wanted to speak to me. He apologized for the issue and proceededto tell me that was the reason why the Mt Moriah location was no longer open and that he did not want to lose my business. He said "The thing about Jiffy Lube is that when we mess up we take responsibility for it and we fix the problem..." He assured me that they had all my information in the system and I will never have that problem again, but if I have any problems to come back.
Aug 12 I was driving my car and the oil light flashed. I quickly pulled in to the Jiffy Lube on Poplar and spoke to Scott again. He had me pull my car in so he could check the fluids. "You're a quart low," he said. I asked him how was it possible for me to be a quart low on oil and I just had an oil change. "I don't know. We checked for a leak and didn't find one". He said he topped my oil back off and I left very angry because I didn't feel like he was really wanting to get to the bottom of the issue.
I ended up having to take my car to BMW for and unrelated repair and that is where I was informed that I did in fact have an oil leak. I was also told that the drain plug had been replaced with an oversized one and I need to have the whole oil pan replaced. I contacted the store immediately and also the district manager Tim R. I followed up our conversation the next day with an email, to which he has not responded yet.
I sustained $1,168.00 worth of damage to my vehicle as a result of their carelessness. I have not even been offered an apology from the district manager and by his lack of communication is showing me that he has no interest in resolving this issue with me. In the interim, oil is still leaking from my car, therefore putting my car at risk for more extensive damage.

I am currently deployed to Iraq and found out that store #2780 preyed on my wife like a pack of vultures. I am filing a complaint with the manager, filing this complaint here and with the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General. My wife went in for a regular oil change in which she was appropriately charged for ($28.99). Then one worker came to her and asked her about replacing the air filter since we had denied it the last two times, she said yes. Another worker came up and mentioned another filter and she said she'd have to ask me first and he left. He did not completely explain which filter and did not get authorization for it. Apparently they ran out of some filter and ran across the street to the Ford dealership to purchase a filter, came back and installed them.
She asked them why they opened the gas tank fill port and they said they always do that for the filter. The fuel filter is not in the tank, so why would they open the fill port? She was not specifically asked if she wanted the fuel filter changed and NEVER authorized it. She authorized only for the AIR FILTER to be changed. The vehicle is still under factory warranty and if it required the fuel filter we would take it to FORD to be changed or I would personally change it when I return in a couple of months.
She was charged 48.99 for an air filter and the 10 minutes of labor to install it. The air filter is $20.00 at most parts stores and I know because I replaced it before I deployed. $91.00 is way too much for a $30 oil change with the air filter being roughly $20 and another $30 in labor?
When my wife (and two young children sitting in the hot vehicle waiting) tried to start the vehicle it wouldn't start. They mentioned it was because there was no fuel in the lines. This is what triggered her to the fact that they did something that she did not authorize and immediately told me via a text message. My wife is not a mechanic and was mislead by the maintenance workers at a store that you have authorized under your corporate name.
When I called at 1:30 in the afternoon (local time) I was told the manager, Robert, would not be in until 4 pm. What kind of manager does not come in during the busiest part of the day? I have made a couple of professional requests for Jiffy Lube to make amends. I await their reply to my requests. If they do not comply with a simple audit and disciplining the manager then I will notify the BBB and Attorney General.
No actual damage except misrepresentation, hounding my wife and other ilegal sale practices.

On 8/25/08 I received an oil change at Jiffy Lube the cost was 22.00. I immediately went and parked my car. When I pulled out of my driveway I noticed oil in the driveway (brand new driveway constructed 5/23/08) It wasn't a huge puddle but evidence that oil was leaking from my car - I assumed just an over flow.
On 7/30/08 on my way home from work my car began to smoke badly and the engine light came on. I drove back to Jiffy Lube and the employee, looked under my car topped off the oil and suggested I speak to his GM, B M. Mr. M suggested I take the car to Pep Boys because they have a relationship with them, he said if it is our fault we'll pay for repairs. I explained that I felt more comfortable taking my car to AAA he said fine. I took my car to AAA and while driving, my brake light came on and then the ABS light.
The next morning 7/31/08 AAA called me and explained that oil was all over my car and they suggested that the old ring (forgot name) was still in place when they replaced the filter causing the damage. They also explained that my power steering fluid was empty and nothing had been topped off. The manager at AAA suggested that the regional manager Mr. R G give him a call, Mr. G didn't call - he merely told me that theyd give me $46 and clean my drive way.
I have paid AAA 93.00 for the diagnostic and to top off my fluids, I missed a day of work (AAA was closed the evening of the 30th and didn't get to my car until mid-afternoon on 7/31). Needless to say my brake lights are still on and my car is not driving well - I have had to pay a co-worker to pick me up, drop my child at camp, take me to work and pray that she had the time to do the same in the evenings. I am scheduled to deliver my car to a VW repair shop on Friday 8/8/08 for analysis and possible repair and I will be renting a vehicle. I do have a report from AAA, and I am ready for a law suit. They are so arrogant that they believe theyll win how, what am I missing?
To resolve this issue I believe that Jiffy Lube needs to pay for all costs related to the damage they caused due to negligence which include having my driveway cleaned, steam cleaning my engine and undercarriage, refund for oil change, diagnostic fees from AAA and Volks Wagen, possible repair costs from VW and lost wages.
I might add that they totally stressed me out and were arrogant when I suggested that Id call the corporate office - I was told they'll only send you back to me and you should've went to pep boys and then we'd pay - Well why should I trust to take my car to a company that you work with when I already see that your company is dishonest and unprofessional.
I did not have any problems with my Passat prior to taking my car to Jiffy Lube and now my nightmare begins somebody stop these inexperienced, unprofessional so called mechanics from destroying vehicles and ripping off consumers.
My car is going to the shop on Friday - I have to rent a car and it has caused me serious financial hardship _ i am a single mom

I soon started noticing some noise from the front end, which got progresively worse. I took the car to a Honda dealer for an evaluation. THe shop forman put it on the lift to listen further. He then decided to check the transmission fluid level. Upon opening the the fill plug, he could not detect the elevation of fluid (fluid level is required to be at the rim of the fill plug).
He then openned the drain plug and drained what little fluid was in the transmission, and the condition was very deteriorated. The manual calls for 2 qts, whcih was installed, and did not help the condition of the transmission. Point to note is that there are no leaks in the transmission case! Thus, it is clear the Jiffy Lube drained the fluid and neglected to install new fluid.
THe transmission is damaged to the point of needing replacement. Honda charges $3100.00 for a re-built transmission, 560.00 to install, and 500.00 for a new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing! Please help. I think Jify needs to be accountable for this cost!

I drive my 2000 Nissan Maxima 110 miles everyday five days a week. So, I pulls my car every 35 days to Jiffy Lube shop for changing oil and filter. In the past 3 years, I made more than 30 visits and each time I paid $34.99 for the PZl 5W30 oil.
This morning Aug 4th, I went to store No 872 in Falls Church and the Mechanic asked me whether I want the same oil & filter used in the past. I replied yes please. Upon check out he run my credit card for $46.16. I asked him that I always paid $35.82 ($34.99+.83 tax), I asked him to view my last month 6/11 record and he would not pull it. He said some stores belong to Jiffy Lube Corp and some are not and our prices are different. I told him that I went to different stores in the past three years and they all charged me 34.99. He called another guy, Brian and both moved to another computer and the cashier flicked his eye to Brian and Brian repeated the same answer.
I have receipts from the past 4 visits and all of them have the same type of oil for $34.99, except this store ripped me off for $46.16. I was embarraced in front of other people who were waiting in line at 8am and he pulled an addition $10.34 from my pocket. I am very upset and I will inform Jiffy Lube Corp Office.

To add insult to injury when I brought this to Tony's attention on July 14, 2008 he willingly gave me a false refund receit for $70.Upon checking my records I eventually determined that the reciet belong to someone else's credit card account and I payed cash. On July 30, 2008 I returned back to the store to get this corrected, but Tony simply said there was nohing he could do for his mistakes, and refuse to give me his return policy in writing, I never received a refund.

Also, I was given my gasket by an employee at Jiffy Lube, which was not broke. All parties involved, except Jiffy Lube stated there is no way possible the gasket could come off the oil plug without the oil plug coming out. All parties involved also stated the bolt on the oil pan (that is welded to the oil pan) cannot be cross threaded by trying to take the oil plug out, only when putting the oil plug in. Needless, to say my car did NOT have ANY problems upon driving into Jiffy Lube. I have incurred about $600 in expenses from this entire episode and Jiffy Lube does not want to take responsibility.
I originally spoke with the on call district manager the day of my oil change to try to get Jiffy Lube to cover my tow expense, however, they stated it was not their fault and I would have to come out of pocket for the tow fee. The next day (Monday, July 28, 2008) the district manager, Mike O'M. followed up with me and we were in contact numerous times throughout the day. Mr. O'M. contradicted himself numerous times while on the phone. For example, he stated maybe it was not my gasket and when I replied your employee gave it to me, he changed the story to well maybe it just fell off over the plug. Since Mr. O'M. and I could not make any progress I asked who is supervisior was and spoke with Joe T., the regional manager for Jiffy Lube.
Mr. T. went by the dealership on July 29, 2008, to meet with the service manager at the dealership to examine the damage and take pictures of the damage. In the meantime, I also took a picture of the gasket I had and emailed it to Mr. T. The service manager at Jeep is going to clean the parts and give them to me for future use. On Wednesday, July 30, 2008, Mr. T. contacted me and stated he would not be refunding my money and the dealership was at fault. I will be taking this to another level and contacting an attorney to settle this manner. I am roughly out of pocket $600 from this incident.

late last year i went to jiffy lube for an oil change. i was advised that i was required to buy special high mileage oil since my vehicle was over a certain mileage. when i got home i discovered that the person there did not read my odometer correctly & overstated my mileage by over 10000. miles. i complained and was given the run around, was talked to rudely and baited until i was yelling at them.
i do not like being tricked and cheated. i wound up paying about twice as much for a simple oil change. i verified that with both goodyear and firestone who offer oil change services in merced, and they told me special oil is never needed, especially on high mileage vehicles because it makes little difference. jiffy lube over charged me between 10 and 15 dollars, & many hours of trouble trying to get a refund, which was refused.

My family has done business with the Warrenton MO Jiffy Lube since it opened years ago. I took my farm truck in to have the oil changed about 5 weeks ago. The following week I took my car in for an oil change. Within a week the car's engine started to knock badly, a couple of days later, my oil light came on. Fortunately I was very near a Jiffy Lube in Lake St. Louis, I pulled in and told them that my oil light was on.
They checked the oil and showed me that it would not register on the oil stick, they changed the filter and filled the oil. Today I started on a road trip with the truck and horse trailer, I noticed an oil spot under the truck, I had also been hearing a knock that I thought was the muffler, fortunately I decided to check the oil even though I had only driven about 800 miles since the oil change, it barely showed on the oil stick! I put 3 quarts of oil in and started the trip. I stopped in Troy MO to get gas and when I looked under the truck-oil was streaming out! I begged a gentleman to help me, he crawled under the truck and tightened the oil filter, he said that it was so loose that it was a wonder that it had not fallen off. I then put another 2 quarts of oil in and went on my way.
