I took my Mercedes E430 for an oil change. During the work, they replaced a front headlight bulb but couldn't care to properly close the light cover at the back. When I took the car for a wash the next day, the light bulb 'cavities' got filled with water. I took the car back to Jiffy Lube, they tried to dry the bulbs, they couldn't all the way, a part of the water remained, but in the process of installing the light bulb cover properly, after nearly an hour of sweating it out, they lost 3 clips of the air-filter hose which they had to unplug principally they didn't seem to know how to do it right.
So, they ordered the parts which took them two months (to get the clips) from the manufacturer, and when they installed it, they did it in the most careless way. When I asked if there would be any consideration like a free lube job, this sloppy, big African-American mechanic got furious and talked to me like I was the guilty party. They even accused me in that I "fessed" him up - no consideration for the 3 trips I made and hours I spent. The missing parts were really my problem - what a great company!! So, I am NOT going back to any Jiffy Lube ever - nor my family or friends. If you are any smart, you shouldn't either. (By the way this was not the first horrible experience there.)

I went to Jiffy Lube on Delk Rd in Marietta, Ga to get an oil change. They DID not put the filter on correctly, oil was leaking every where, plus they put a quart of oil to much in my truck, the manager Brandon is high all day. He told me to come get a refund and made me wait for 2 hours and I never DID get a refund. I called customer service and spoke to Ryan in Nc. He told me to go pick the refund up, after talking about his breast implants and new wig for hours. I went back to the location to get my refund for the messed up oil change, still no refund.
I called Ryan back at customer service, he then explained I needed to fill out a claim form. Now why DID you not tell me the first time, this was the second time I had been to the location trying to get a refund. Ryan got very upset because if he wasn't spending time trying to tell me how he wanted to be a woman and dress like a lady and undergo surgery to be one. He could have explained that a claim form needed to be filled out. Instead he is at work talking about being a tranny.

Initially I thought the service was great. Gave a great review via phone. 2 weeks later I need a new engine. My engine was completely destroyed after being serviced at Jiffy Lube. Prior to that my vehicle was in excellent condition.

The last two times I have gone to the Jiffy Lube at 7311 PINES BLVD in Pembroke Pines, FL, the AC air filter was not put back when they told me my car is done. The first time, they noticed it just in time and ran after me driving off. Today, the air filter was lying on the passenger seat and when I asked them to put it back in, the employee had an insolent attitude and was hostile while putting the air filter back in. This was my the last time getting an oil change at Jiffy Lube.

My husband went to the Jiffy Lube in Howell, NJ near West Farms Road on Wednesday 5/28/14. When he came home I saw the bill was over $80. Apparently the staff there bullied and cajoled him to get the synthetic oil. I asked him and he told me that no less than five employees were insisting that he MUST do this. I called and they said that he agreed to it, so he is stuck with it. I am upset with Jiffy's reaction which was very rude and uninterested in my plight. Classic bait and switch.

A cacophonous sound coming out of my vehicle as if I were driving an 18-wheeler yesterday (5/19/2014). Last oil change was last month (4/3/2014). Wasn't due for another oil change until 173,809 mil - My vehicle has 172,104 mil, currently - Diagnostic was this morning (5/20/2014). My motor has now seized because there is NO OIL in my vehicle.
Finding Facts: The mechanic from Meineke, who performed the diagnostic thereafter, found that there was no oil in my tank - Commonly, one would assume this was due to a leak or some other catalyst that may have caused my oil to perhaps evaporate three quarts during the course of five weeks - Theoretically, the tech that changed my oil from Jiffy Lube out of Wethersfield CT, forgot to add three more quarts of oil (my car holds four) based on the evidence from the test to find any leakage - Furthermore, there were no leaks, valves and plugs were tight, and based on the evidence, there was only one quart of oil that was left in my tank on the date of the last oil change (4/3/2014) causing the seize. Conclusively, my attorney and I are pursuing this since I have a substantial amount of evidence that backs my history of regular maintenance on my vehicle from Jiffy Lube which will, in turn, cancel out any involvement of negligence on my end.

Have taken my car to Jiffy Lube for many years. Recently moved and started taking cars to another location. During their upselling, they show you recommended service, etc and also show you what the oil change will cost. This poor example of a manager shows me that my oil change will cost $38.99 and I agree to proceed with the oil change only....not the additional services he recommends. After the work is completed, another technician walks me to the counter and shows me the final charge of the computer screen $78.99! I ask how did a $38.99 oil change become $78.99 and they tell me the manufacturer requires the higher grade oil. Such lies and bait and switch tactics. This location, 31 Hampton Park Blvd, is managed by a crook who knows nothing about customer service/retention.

I am writing because my boyfriend and I had our oil changed at the West 7th Street location (store 1135, St. Paul, MN) on March 26, 2014. Over the next few days, my truck began to make noise. On March 30, 2014 the check oil light came on (we checked the oil, it seemed there was still oil in there), so we headed back to the store to get it checked out. On the way to the store, we ended up breaking down on the side of the road. We were towed into Jiffy Lube, and the technician informed us the oil had drained out. The technician added more oil to our truck (he was the same technician who changed the oil on 3/26). The technician made sure to ask us whether we have an enemy who loosened the plug.
Following the employee adding more oil to our truck, we restarted it, and it sounded terrible. We left the truck there as to not cause further damage. The district manager of the store told us he would have an insurance adjuster come and inspect the vehicle over the following week. The report findings mailed to us contain, in my opinion, contradictory information. As the cover letter to the report states: "We sent a third party investigator to inspect your vehicle. The report states that the cause of failure is, 'Loss of oil due to loose drain plug. Drain plug may have been tampered with as there is no oil blowback on the undercarriage which you would see if a drain plug is loose while vehicle is operating. The engine is running properly at this time'. The damage to your vehicle is not a result of your services performed at Jiffy Lube".
This proves to be contradictory as the word "failure" is first used to describe the condition of the vehicle, yet they state the engine is running properly. Also, one sentence later they admit there IS damage to our vehicle, although one sentence before, said the engine is running properly. The letter also admits the drain plug was loose. We finally picked up our truck, and the truck was still making noise. As a result, we brought the truck into another mechanic, who stated my truck needs a whole new engine, estimated to cost near $3,000. The district manager holds his ground that the truck makes no sound and that Jiffy Lube will not be doing anything further to make this right or look into the matter -- which I find unacceptable.
His report states that my oil could not have drained out while driving as there was no blowback. My question is whether or not it is relevant when exactly the oil drained out, while I was driving, or while my truck was parked somewhere, as many people do not always inspect under his or her vehicle before driving. The place/time of drainage is not relevant in my eyes -- what is relevant to me is that the oil DID drain out and caused engine damage to my vehicle. The fact there was no blowback simply tells to me it must have drained while parked. Furthermore, the report states the drain plug MAY have been tampered with -- indicating it also MAY have been a mistake on Jiffy Lube's end.
Jiffy Lube's main defense in this dispute is the lack of blowback on the undercarriage. I feel that is an inadequate response to an expensive problem, especially considering oil can drain while parked or moving, and the fact we left our vehicle in the care of Jiffy Lube immediately following the incident of breaking down on the side of the road. It seems sketchy that this is Jiffy Lube's main defense when the first person to get under the vehicle following the mishap was the same employee who changed the oil in the first place. I am stating this because there is a possibility there was blowback which could have been wiped clean to avoid having to pay for damages. Regardless, the real problem has NOTHING to do with blowback, the problem is that the oil drained out due to a loose drain plug that should have been tightened by a Jiffy Lube employee after the initial oil-change service.
I do not believe this is good customer service or something that should be tolerated by any customer entrusting his or her vehicle to an oil change company. I believe I am entitled to payment for the work that must be done to my engine because of the mistake made by a Jiffy Lube employee. The company does not want to make this right or take responsibility for their mistake, and as a result, I have been without a working vehicle since March 30, 2014. We have called and left numerous messages, and still no response. I trusted Jiffy Lube with my vehicle, and now I will be out close to $3,000 if this is not resolved. I wanted to share my experience with others so that you do not go through the same [expensive & inconvenient] ordeal.

I posted a couple of other complaints to their Facebook page about their terrible and unethical business practices and mysteriously 2 days later ALL my comments about their unethical ways and dishonesty have "vanished". So did a few other posters comments about substandard service that had posted at about the same time as mine on Sat April 19, 2014. Do NOT ever give them your email. They will spam you constantly with coupons hoping to get you back. Better to find a 'home town' mechanic. A class action lawsuit is needed and JL needs to be on the receiving end of it.
In another state (UT) they used some sort of gadget to test my electrical system on my brand new (at the time) 2005 Chevy Malibu. They told me there was a big problem with my electrical system so I took it to the Chevy dealer, wasted an entire day there, all stressed out due to this inconvenience and the dealer told me there was NOTHING wrong with my new car! I stomped back to that Jiffy Lube... (the one on Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah) and confronted them about this. They basically blew me off like it was no big deal. Maybe not to them, but it was to me. They hire young kids who don't know ** about car mechanics. Will never go there again.

My daughter took her 2004 Chevy Malibu to Jiffy Lube in Ft. Myers FL store #1244 (7140 CYPRESS LAKE DR. FORT MYERS , FL 33907-6500) to have her oil changed. When it was done, she started the car and drove away. She got less than 1/2 mile away when the car died and she then noticed the oil light had come on. It apparently locked up. She tried to restart it and after several minutes it finally did start but said "it was not happy" and sounded very rough and knocked pretty bad (which of course it never did) but managed to drive back to Jiffy Lube.
She walked in the store and said she had a problem with it. The girl that worked there said she knew why; they found the oil filter on the parking lot pavement. Through a phone call I was originally told that it was an oil seal (gasket) problem but in a second call I was told that the filter internal threads failed and the filter blew off immediately when my daughter started the car to leave the store. I was sent in a text photos of the oil filter and it indeed had bad threads The district manager at this point was very apologetic and "promised" he/Jiffy Lube would take care of this and make it right.
Now, I live in Indiana and told him I was fly down to help resolve this matter and he said it wasn't necessary but I knew better. I told the DM that I did not want my daughter driving this car for fear of it locking up again. He also told my daughter, "Not to worry, you can drive a car 2 or 3 days without oil." He of course denied this and I said, "You're lucky to drive 2 or 3 minutes without oil." I told him I was going to have the car towed to a GM dealer to have it checked out and that she would have to rent a car to get to work. I had two days of car rental, towing and a bill to have it look into at the dealer. All this totaled $329.
Now, the dealer did say they couldn't find much wrong with it other than some lifter noise... but, they had it when it was warm out and when she started it the next day in the cooler mornings, it knocked badly and worse when she accelerated. Granted the car did have 128k on it but due to the loss of oil, the engine life has been diminished greatly and wanted a rebuilt engine or possibly this one rebuilt. Trying to shorten this story here... the district manager's attitude change some and would not return several of my calls and after leaving a few messages on his phone. In person I told him we were looking at a new Malibu at the Chevy dealer where we had her 2004 Malibu checked out. But the dealer already knew this car had engine problems and would not give us as much for it because of the engine issues.
I asked the Jiffy Lube manager for the $329 for the towing, car rental and the dealer bill plus I asked $450 to $500 for the devaluation of her 2004 Malibu and said they were getting off cheaply. After a couple more weeks, I again on a Thursday and wanted some answers and he promised me again he would call me the next day with an answer from higher up than him. Not surprising I did not get a call back. Four days later, I got a letter saying that I was denied the "$1000" I was asking for (not sure where the $1000 came from). There were a few other not truths in the letter, but this review has gotten too long as it is and I think I have gotten my point across...
If you want go reliable oil change service, please avoid this Jiffy Lube, other Jiffy Lube stores and any quick change oil stores. Play it safe and take you car to a much more reliable and reputable place such as a certified dealer or someplace you know you can trust. It's not worth the loss or hassle. BTW we ended up buying a new car.

BUYER BEWARE!!! This used to be the friendly neighborhood Jiffy Lube that was recommended to me by my friends. I had been here a couple of times and it went well - until today. First they attempted to sell me a transmission flush that I do not need, and when I refused that service the guy said, "OK try to start it up". It would not start. Then he tells me I need a new battery because mine is not holding a charge. He even showed me on his little machine where it showed my battery was dead. I said this battery has been working fine so that is really strange, and he told me it happens all the time in there! I asked for a jump start to get me to the dealership and to talk to the manager who came out and started yelling and pounding on my vehicle while my son was in it after I told him that I did not appreciate them trying to take advantage of me like that.
I called the police because the manager apparently could not calm himself down. While I was waiting he continued to pound on my window and yell at me telling me that I should just leave without paying. I had to wait for a police officer to arrive so I could feel safe enough to get out of my vehicle and pay for the oil change because I did not want to leave without paying and have him call the police on me. When I left I went directly to the car wash where my car sat for over 30 minutes with the doors open and then started right up without any problem. I then left and went to Battery Exchange and had the battery tested and it is fine. It's too bad because this used to be the only Jiffy Lube I trusted to change the oil in my car. I will be going to the dealership from now on. Women, and especially women with children, be very careful going into this place.

I brought my van in for a quick $29.99 oil change, ** the Jiffy Lube guy goes through the normal hoopla of recommended services. I told him I only want the advertised price of $29.99. ** printed an estimate of ~$47 and mentioned it's just a high estimate. I signed it without thinking because I have come here on multiple occasions. The oil change was completed in 15 minutes as normal. ** typed up the final bill, it came out to be $43.85.
Obviously, it surprised me. I questioned what happened to the $29.99 oil change I requested? ** replied..."We gave you the high mileage oil." I told him, I didn't ask for the high mileage oil, and all I want was a quick oil change for $29.99. ** replied, “You should have told us that you wanted the "Shell oil" and it's on your records. I mentioned I have always paid for the $29.99 service and there was never an instance I have asked for "high mileage oil". I didn't want to waste my time arguing over ~$14. To me, Jiffy Lube is using car salesman tactics. Sadly to say, I will never come back with my 3 cars. First of all, they asked me which oil I want. I told I'd like to have 0W full synthetic. They were fine with that. After the service, I receive a sticker where it says 5W full synthetic and next change due for 3000 miles. I asked them about and they replied that it has to be changed in 3000 miles. Full synthetic always go for at least 6000 miles sometimes for 12000. They replaced the sticker with 7500 miles and assured me it was a typo. For $90 only 3000 miles is kinda expensive oil change. I have used Jiffy Lube for years for my standard oil change because they are convenient and their service staff has always been friendly; however after my most recent experience, I am no longer a Jiffy Lube customer. On a visit, the staff told me that a full synthetic oil was recommended for my car. I am admittedly not car-knowledgeable and agreed due to their insistence that it was manufacturer recommended. After checking with the dealer and manual, I learned it wasn't. On my next visit to a different Jiffy Lube, they again spent time trying to convince me to use a full synthetic because it was the manufacturer's recommendation. I didn't allow it.
I sent my concern about feeling manipulated and given false recommendations on 2 occasions at 2 locations to Jiffy Lube's customer service. The man who follow up could not have cared less about my concerns. The extent of his customer service was basically a monotone response that he was sorry to lose me as a customer, period. Initially, I was just somewhat disgruntled by feeling misled and taken advantage of. However, it was their follow-up customer service that convinced me customer service is not their priority.

On March 18, 2014 I paid Jiffy Lube in Lakewood to change my front and rear differential fluid. The next day, March 19, I was driving from my home in Lakewood, CO to Cheyenne, WY for work when my AT Oil Temp light came on. I immediately pulled over and shut the car down, letting it cool off. While it was cooling, I looked up the closest Jiffy Lube which was in Ft Collins, CO. I drove straight there. They assured me the tech checked the differential fluid and they were fine. The tech then changed the transmission fluid.
On Saturday, March 22, we left for spring break. On I70, I saw my mpg indicator shoot all the way up and noticed that when I pushed down on the accelerator it was working. I immediately started pulling over to the shoulder. At some point during the initial noticing of the mpg surge and before I came to a complete stop, there was a thunk. We pulled over as far as we could onto the shoulder and put the car into park. The car was still running, but when put into drive, it would not move.
I am now out: $200 initial tow to Green River, UT, $200 shuttle service to Grand Junction, $387 car rental, $525 second tow, $241 for the transmission fluid change that did not need to be done for another 40,000 miles, $1553, PLUS the initial estimate of $8855 to repair the car. PLUS the damage done to the skid plate/bumper. More than $10,000 damage because the front differential fluid was not filled. Lakewood blames Ft. Collins because they said they "checked" the fluid. Ft. Collins blames Lakewood because they didn't fill the fluid. Meanwhile, I have no car.

I bought a Kia Optima 7 months ago with a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty, Peace of mind correct? yes that what I thought. I always taken my car to Kia dealership for service and maintenance, however I happen to be in a different state on 1/29/2014 and needed to have the oil change before driving back to NJ. I stop at a Jiffy lube on the way back to get just a simple oil change. I was greeted at the car by manager who took my car into the shop and than 5 minutes later he came in and told me I needed to add synthetic oil because I have a GDI engine (Gas Direct injection). I know now that was just an up sale and nevertheless they sold me on it, whatever best for the vehicle. My oil change should have cost me 38.00 in and out however because of the more expensive oil the bill was now 104.91 so I paid it.
On 3/10/2014 driving back to Warrington PA was I was when the oil change was done, I took off from a light and the engine started to click and a slight knock, however, no oil lights or engine lights came on but I stop in a shopping Plaza and checked for the noise, could not determine the noise. Someone walked by and stated to check my oil, I did and it was bone dry. I walked across the parking lot to an advance auto and bought 5w20 oil that the car requires and continued on to PA 12 more mile.
On 3/11/2014 the next morning I took the car back to Jiffy Lube 1.6 mile away from the hotel I was staying and explained the issue. The manager stated that he would take the car in and see what the issues was, service adviser had come back into the office and explained that the oil filter was loose and so was the drain plug and also they had forgotten the tamper seal around the plug.
Jiffy lube basically gave me another oil change but explained that the engine noise was still there and told me that the GM would be contacting me to figure out how we fix this. I never received that call and i ended up calling back and was told he still was not there and they would contact him and ask him to contact me. 2 hours later i receive a call from the GM only explaining to me that the district manager would be calling me.
3/12/2014 the District Manager contacted me and stated that an adjuster would be going out to see the car which now was at the Kia Dealer Ship. Within 2 hours again the district Manager called me back and stated that he was denying my claim because I had drove 1000 miles over my 3 month/3000 mile warranty. However, my car is 5000 miles to an oil change and paper work and sticker stated that I should bring it back in 5000 miles. However, the back on the warranty policy on the back on the receipt explain the 3 months/3000 miles.
I know nothing about cars when it comes to auto repair and this is the reasons I take it to the professionals, however messed up this one time, thinking these guys were anything close to professionals. 2 months I had been leaking oil and not knowing it, I mean how was I suppose to know with no warning light, and no noise to that point of break down, so yes it leaked until it was dry. I felt that I got an oil change and not due for a new one for another couple thousand miles so why would I check the oil.
Kia Had confirmed that my engine needs to be replaced and my warranty will not cover it and and they stated that jiffy lubes finger prints are all over the car because of the name brands are on the car. So now I have a new car that just sitting in my drive way that I cannot drive, needs a new engine that will cost almost 10,000.00 and no one will fix it because of voided warranties. Jiffy lube wrote a written statement saying that they did not tighten oil filter and drain plug and no tamper seal was added. I mean what more Proof do I need, they stand behind the 3 months/3000 miles warranty.
I've contacted the Attorney General, getting own Attorney, the councilmen and BBB. I will not stop until this straight and fair. Jiffy lube needs to understand that they can not shatter someone's life due to a 20 minute oil change, it's not right and unfair and it has to stop. It's horrific to read all of the reviews I've read and i'ts the same complaints and no one has done nothing. I refuse to take no for an answer.

On 2/18/2014, went to Jiffy Lube in Pacific Beach Calif., for a simple oil change, at 8:36 am and paid $102.21, at 9:17 am. I was taken care of by shop manager. After paying, I started my car and attempted to drive home, which perhaps is 1 mile away, and I noticed it smoking. Pacific Beach Foreign was several blocks down, I went there and asked them for help. They ended up replacing my radiator, it is visibly freshly broken. Prior to my having PB Foreign fix it, I called the manager at Jiffy Lube and asked him what happened, rather than him apologizing, he immediately referred me to his friend to fix it. He said his friend wasn't far away, and would fix it today. He mentioned it wouldn't cost me as much as PB Foreign.
I told him I wanted him to pay for it because he broke it, and he said he could not do that. He made more excuses. There wasn't any way I would drive my BMW 740IL to another place, 1st of all it wouldn't make it, 2nd I do not know this person. I kinda think I was shafted. My girlfriend is retired DMV, she said to also make note, my car passed smog just days before the oil change. She also has been trying to solve this, and because of a run around, manager at Jiffy Lube, keeps saying his district manager Shaffer will be calling us back. This Shaffer hasn't not even attempted to phone us back.
We have contacted corporate, only to get the same, no return phone calls at all (by the way, there was another part damaged, is minor, thought to overlook). Very frustrated, and feeling ripped off for an oil change ($102.21), that ends damaging my radiator ($381.42), cost me a total of: $483.63. I would appreciate Jiffy Lube reimbursing me for the total amount of: $483.63. The manager of Jiffy Lubes insistent attempts to refer me to some friend his, had me questioning why my radiator was broken by him in the first place, and really leaves me never wanting to return there.

In early August I had my oil changed... Three days later I noticed my van was leaking green stuff... coolant, so I took my van back to Jiffy Lube in Chicopee to see if they can see where it was leaking from, they said it wasn't leaking, could be one of my two other cars, still knew it was mine. Anyway went to New Hampshire for a vacation, coming home my car started smoking a lot... from underneath, couldn't drive it home. Had to tow it and my camper all the way back to Holyoke, Mass... Took almost 9 hours and $600.00, all because they couldn't be bothered to see if it was leaking...
Had my mechanic check it the next day, told me the leak was coming from my heating/ac system, he took it all off and it had six holes in it, if they had checked it they would have noticed the holes right away!! They could have saved me $600.00 and nine hours of aggravation... Today was the last straw, my van went to the shop for some brakes and to check oil. Well I had my oil changed on the 21st of Jan. The air filter was black... and they said it was okay....I don't know about you but I would like to be able to trust someone with my van...so if they say they did this, this and this they should....Not bringing my van back there or my other two cars......

Went to have my oil changed at the Apache Junction Jiffy Lube. Just wanted a simple oil change and they tried to keep charging me for a "deluxe inspection". I told them I just need my oil changed. They ended up charging me for the deluxe package and ended up costing me 50 dollars. They checked the other fluid levels and checked the air in the tires, which I did not them to do but they did anyways. They took out 20 psi out of each tire, claiming they only needed 30 but the tire clearly says 50. Turns out they go by what the door says and not the actual tire, which makes no sense to me.
After they charged me, I found out that they did not reset the oil level in my car. It still says it has 50 percent oil life. Left angry and the manager did not seem to care about what I thought, only cared about the part where I paid. Had to blow my tires back up to the correct psi levels and had to take my car to fix the oil life in my car. Very unsatisfied and will not recommend to anyone.

I am a former assistant manager of the South Florida Ave Jiffy lube. I have worked there for about 2 years. The turnover rate is ridiculous. They hire anybody off the streets with no background or experience. The blue shirts and the red shirts employees profile every customer that comes through the door to see if they're big spenders. If you drove a busted car they won't spend a minute on you. I have seen the store manager Jason ** cheat so many customers in buying things they didn't need for the vehicles. Sometimes not even completing the services that they sold to the customers. Their prices are way too expensive.
I would only do my oil change myself there if it was only for free. I would never pay 39.99 for conventional oil change or 59.99 for synthetic blend oil change or 89.99 for a full synthetic oil change. Take my word for it you do not want to go to this Jiffy Lube on South Florida Avenue. I quit for these reasons. This isn't a mad employee comment. This is to inform anybody who thinks the stories about Jiffy Lube aren't real or it can't happen to you. It is really that bad. I have seen many customers being screwed out of problems from the cars that we caused.

I Recently had an oil change done by Jiffy Lube in the Omaha, NE area. After a few months, I started smelling oil burning from my 2000 Toyota Solara. After I got home, I came to realize the mechanic who did my oil change forgot to put back on my oil cap, well actually put it on halfway. Well anyways oil got all over inside the engine compartment. After putting the oil cap on correctly and extensive cleaning, my engine is now leaking oil. It seems that I possibly lost engine pressure due to the oil cap not being put on correctly and believe to have blown my head gasket. Like I said it is a 2000 Toyota with 125,000 miles but that car has never leaked one drop of anything especially oil!!!
I have contacted Jiffy Lube and pretty much they hold no responsibility to their faulty work... I am a single father with a mortgage and expenses like these really suck! I am also a licensed electrician and I don't show up to someone house or place of employment and charge them for faulty work... Its called warranty JIFFY LUBE!! Learn some responsibility to your shady unskilled no backbone business! By the way I paid over $60.00 for that oil change, what a complete ripoff!! I will never use them again I will suggest to everyone I know and don't to do the same!!

We brought our 2000 Honda Civic to Jiffy Lube in Manchester, NH last week for an oil change. THEY SUGGESTED we flush the engine, as the oil was old. On the way home our car died on the side of the road and oil started leaking everywhere. They told us we would need to bring it to a mechanic to get diagnosed and if it was their fault, we would be 100% reimbursed. The mechanic said he 100% believed it was Jiffy Lube because the engine flush wasn't done properly and clogged the oil pipe leading to the engine. No oil could get into the engine, so it sent a loose pin shooting into the oil pan, poking a hole, leaking oil, and thus destroying our engine.
We called to tell them what the mechanic said and they blamed it on past service. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCUMBAGS. Look at all of the reviews saying they've ruined so many vehicles. 1 class action suit already complete. They're in the middle of another one. These people should have to reimburse everyone here who has been scammed by them.

I'm very lucky it didn't fall into the fan or something much worse! One time long ago, Jiffy Lube left my oil dipstick out and I heard rattling around under my hood. Opened it and found the dipstick sitting on the part by my fan! They need to be more careful. They could really mess someone's vehicle up with their carelessness. Any customer of Jiffy Lube should go to YouTube and search "Jiffy Lube Scams." There are several videos there where they've actually been caught on video not doing the service that the customer requested and then charging them for it anyway. The employees have a quota to charge each customer at least $60.00 by pushing unneeded repairs on them. One of their favorite tricks is to not actually perform a transmission service when the customer orders it then charge them for it anyway. I had a bad experience in Caldwell, Idaho when they didn't tighten my oil filter enough and two days later, I was leaking oil all over the ground.
I immediately went to a mechanic just to find out that Jiffy Lube hadn't tightened the oil filter - the mechanics bill was around $100.00. The owner made it right and promised to tune up his crew so I went back one more time. Everyone had the personality of a door knob. If you're looking for friendly service, the Caldwell, ID Jiffy Lube is not the place to go. Then when I checked out and paid the bill, the guy never even went over the service statement with me as I'm use to having them do at other Jiffy Lubes. They were all completely indifferent and the customer service stunk. I'll never set foot in the place again.

On October 18, 2013, I took my 2004 Chevy 3500 Duramax diesel into Jiffy Lube for an oil change. On January 2, 2014, my engine blew up out in the country with a ground blizzard happening. It was -12 degrees outside. My pregnant wife was in the truck with me. We were on our way to the hospital because my wife was having preterm contractions. The rest of the facts can be verified by GM and our local Chevy dealership. Jiffy Lube used the wrong oil and the oil filter failed. The filter blew out and the seal separated expelling all the oil. This happened on January 1 at 8pm. The next morning, I had to take my wife to town to see her doctor. I had to replace the filter with the correct AC Delco filter and add oil.
We got 1 1/2 miles down the road when the engine seized and left us stranded in the middle of nowhere. Of course, Tony, the district manager for Jiffy Lube denies any wrong doing and says they are not responsible. This mistake by Jiffy Lube is undeniable. It will end up costing me a minimum of $15,500. At least I was able to get a hold of a farmer. If I hadn't, it would have costed us more than that. DON'T USE JIFFY LUBE. YOUR LIFE AND FAMILY CAN'T DEPEND ON IT. The filter still has to be tested. We live in Minnesota. First, it has to go to New York. Then New York sends it to Texas. I can't help but wonder if they sent the right filter because they refused to give me a written receipt for the filter I turned in. Please don't use Jiffy Lube!

I went to Jiffy Lube and have been for 6 months for oil changes and I needed a thermostat. When I left, they informed me that I have to come back in 3 days to top off. I left. I called them because it was running warmer than normal but not over heating and the air conditioner would go from hot to freezing cold. They said it was just because I had air pockets. No need to worry, everything is fine. This was on a Friday. I did add some coolant in on Saturday. On Sunday, I didn't drive my car. On Monday, I only took it in there to be "topped off". Well they couldn't figure out why my traction control light was on so they sent me to Eddy's Toyota.
Well, $600 dollars later, I am still having problems but they had noticed that my coolant was a gallon short and wrong spark plugs and my one coil was bad. So I took car back. Again they did a more investigation on the car and they found out my engine's gasket is broken. I have already talked to Jiffy Lube and the district manager and they don't believe they could have caused it at all. So now I'm taking them to small claims court. Thanks, Jiffy Lube. I bought a truck in 12/707/13 from a private party, the truck was running good, no problems at all, but I notice that the battery was old and I decide to go to the a Jiffy Lube in the area and also I need a smog check for my 2002 F150 crew cab. Once I was there, I decide to be sure to change all the fluids on the truck, engine, transmission, radiator, differential, name it, I change all. The truck doesn't pass smog because of the battery being new, set the the O2 sensors off. They ask me to drive the truck for 50 miles to set sensor in order to get the smog. I did, went back the next day the truck pass smog, I register the vehicle, and I was happy with their service.
But to my surprise in 12/18/13, I was driving to my job early in the morning when the transmission starts giving me problems, not shifting right. I was near the same shop, I stop to check and see if they can tell me what was wrong with the truck and my worst nightmare started at that moment. They told me the transmission had too much ATF fluid and they need to take some fluid off, so I said okay. After they got the fluid out, the truck did not move at all, and the worst part they don't know what's wrong with it. To this point I am angry but I keep my cool and I start asking questions like what type of fluid they use and what was the name of the additive they use. This was the the cheating answer: That they use Pennzoil ATF fluid and the additive was A 3T additive.
Thanks to Google I was aware that my truck can only use Mecon V Only and that Pennzoil is the wrong ATF fluid for my transmission. I did call the dealer and they told me the same thing. But when I confront they told me that the additive 3T makes Pennzoil into the aspects of Mercon V. I was very confused. Everything they said didn't make any sense to me. By that time my friend knowing my problem went to where I was to support me. When he got there, I explained to him the problem and he told me he also serviced his, did the same service to his 2009 Chevy Avalanche LTZ.
We start wondering and we decide to ask the same techs that serviced his truck and my truck. What type of ATF they used in his transmission and they say Pennzoil ATF with the same 3T additive. We also use Google for my friend's truck and my friend's has to have an ATF fluid called Dextron VI. So right there, we got them using the wrong fluid. By this point I was furious. We went to the Pennzoil official site check, the specs of the Pennzoil ATF that Jiffy Lube uses and they can't use this product on Fords or Chevy trucks. Their solution was open a claim report which they filled wrong with the miles of my truck. This shop is the worst shop that I ever been in my life. Now my tranny is fried. I don't have a truck, the shop doesn't know what to do. The only thing that my friend and I are going to do is take Jiffy Lube to make them pay for the damages that they caused to the two trucks.
Advise: stay away from Jiffy Lube. From what I read in this site, they are responsible for a lot of damaged vehicles. Don't put your life or vehicle in their hands, pay more bring your vehicle to a mechanic shop with a lot of reputation or the dealers. This is not to bring bad rep to Jiffy Lube. Because they already have very bad one, this is to protect the consumers from unnecessary headaches! Thanks for reading this blog.

I had been all around Albuquerque that morning washing my windshield many times, and had no problems whatsoever. I usually do my own maintenance but I had a $30 gift certificate for Jiffy Lube that had been given me. I stopped at Jiffy Lube on Gibson and told them I only wanted an oil and filter change. I did not want them to do anything else or top any fluids. As I was leaving Jiffy Lube, my check engine light came on. Three blocks from Jiffy Lube, my windshield washer fluid froze. I stopped at Autozone and asked them to read the codes for me.
One of the solutions to the codes they got was to replace the gas cap. So I re-tightened my gas cap, disconnected the negative battery terminal, waited 10 minutes, reconnected the terminal, and started the car. No check engine lights this time and none since. When I checked the washer fluid, I found they had filled it with water. It took me 3 days to get the washer thawed out. I suspect they did not change the oil filter because the oil is not as clean as when I do the oil change myself. I'm also not sure they used the oil I specified. That will be the last time I ever use Jiffy Lube.

I brought my 2006 Grand Cherokee in for a transmission filter change. I had just bought the truck and wanted to make sure it had clean fluid. I have worked on vehicle for years but I got lazy and thought this would save me some time on a busy day. After talking to the manager first, he explained that it was an expensive service and would be approx $150.00 and take about half an hour. I pulled in and they started the service. After 25mins, someone realized that no one had ordered the parts (filter kit). After about 30mins, the filter showed up but turned out to be the wrong filter. It was re-order from another parts dealer and arrived in 20-25mins.
After trying to put the new filter in, the manager said it was going to be more than estimated because they were having trouble putting the pan back on. 2.5hrs and $297.82 later, I was able to leave. 2 months later, trying to get to work, the truck would not go into any gear and the "Check Engine" light was on. I was stranded in my driveway. I was able to borrow a code reader and found I had 6 transmission related fault codes. They were all leading to the transmission not getting any fluid. I decided to pull the pan off myself and lo and behold, the front of the filter was laying in the bottom of the pan. It was NOT installed properly and the transmission was not able to pump fluid from the pan.
After installing another new filter (the Jiffy Lube filter was crappy quality and ruined), new fluid and deleting all the codes, my Jeep is like brand new. I can't state strongly enough how over thieving and unskilled these places are. Please learn from my laziness.

I went on November 5, 2013 for an oil change at Jiffy Lube and Stanwood, Washington. I figured I would go in around 930 am since it would be slow. There was one other vehicle having a service done and then myself. I figured it would take just 20 minutes and I'd be on my way. They finished and after a $24 coupon paid $73 for my oil change on my 2005 Toyota Tundra 4x4, which was sort of high considering I only spent $48.00 the previous times I've been there. So I asked about what the changes were and was satisfied with what the service technician told me. I paid and drove 4 miles to my destination.
During that time I noticed the oil pressure gauge had gone down and up and down and up. I figured it was just the oil pressurizing itself until it got sealed. I proceeded to drive another 15 miles before I return to Jiffy Lube to ask the technicians to take a look at what was going on! I was offered a couple of excuses like the pressure gauge sensor might be broken etc., etc. I said that I found that highly impossible since the Toyota had only had 49,700 miles on it. They decided to go ahead take a look and to see what might be going wrong underneath. They said they would recheck their work.
The assistant manager came in told me that the Toyota oil filter from the previous oil change was still on there. I questioned him and asked if I had just had an oil change two hours previous wasn't that included in the $73 that I just paid them? He said yes it is. I again stated it certainly was not replaced then I proceeded to ask him again why the old filter would still be on my rig. He had no explanation at all other than the person who done the oil change had never had problems previous to this. He offered me 50% off my next service!
I am certainly not pleased about that and then on hold for over 47 minutes to corporate has just added to my irritation about the whole thing. Four years previous to this incident they had forgotten to replace oil plug which proceeded to leak oil all over my farm and causing major catastrophe environmental cleanup regarding my animals! I can't imagine returning to Jiffy Lube and giving them another opportunity to wreck yet another rig! I find this all ridiculous with the shenanigans going on and believe that Jiffy Lube should have a class-action lawsuit lodged against them!
I read 100 complaint and reviews before finally decided to include my personal complaint and experience because I believe they should be stopped from being able to get away with this on a constant and regular basis. Not with just me but others apparently across the entire country are having the same complaints on a regular basis and this is just ridiculous to think that their corporate office can't get their act together and have their employees trained better.

Then my sister informed me that she found oil on the garage floor where my car had been parked after going to Jiffy Lube and before I left the state. It was NOT leaking oil prior to bringing it to Jiffy Lube as I had 3 mechanics check out the car when I had bought it a couple of months before and all three confirmed the car had NO leaks whatsoever. Worst experience ever at an automotive service provider. I took my car into the Fountain Hills, AZ Jiffy Lube for a standard oil change. Their mechanic started the car & drove it into the service bay. After waiting for approximately 10 minutes, the manager called me over and suggested that I change the air filter, which he was holding in his hands. I agreed and they continued with exchanging the filter and performing an oil change. When they attempted to start the car to test for leaks, the car would not start. The manager looked over the car and checked for any obvious signs, but finally gave up and said he did not know what to do & that it was my problem. I noted that the air intake canister had debris remaining that should have been cleaned out when the filter was removed. Nonetheless, they charged me $92 for the oil and air filter change.
I had to have the car towed to a local mechanic who found that the mass air flow sensor (downstream from the filter) was clogged - caused by Jiffy Lube's changing the air filter. When I presented the $97 bill for the repair to Jiffy Lube, they claimed it was not their fault (even though the car would not start immediately after they serviced it) and refused to pay. Now I'm out the towing charge, the car repair and the rental car costs. This is a total lack of corporate responsibility for their shoddy work & damage to an automobile.

Oil Change Rip Off at the Highway 89 Jiffy Lube in Woods Cross - Since Jiffy Lube sends out coupons every month, I finally decided to give them a try today with their $24.99 oil change. As I pulled up, I asked if they will change my oil for the coupon price and if there are any exceptions. The employee said they would for the $24.99 price. Within 5 minutes, he comes in and said, "What kind of oil do you want?" I said I want oil of the grade labeled on the oil cap. They come back right away and said, "Oh, it needs synthetic oil for $75 more." I said, no, I've had my oil changed hundreds of times, for many more years than they were alive, with regular oil, just put that in. Then they tried to tell me that conventional oil is only good for 2-3000 miles. Right. What a lie.
Okay, I said, put my oil back in and I'll go to the tire dealer across the street and get the right oil put in for $20.00. They said, oh, I misunderstood. They meant it would last 5,000 miles. Two minutes later, they come back with both air filters, and say they need replacement. Sorry, but I changed both of those 2,000 miles ago, they were clean and practically new - put them back in. Then I get the bill. They tried to tell me my oil filter was special and they need another $10 for that filter. I tell them no way. They argue with me. I look it up on my smart phone. No premium for that filter. I point out that the fine print on the coupon does not have any exceptions for filter size. It's $25.00 no exception. They tell me I can't have my car back unless I pay the bill with the extra charge.
At this point, I'm ready to call the cops and complain to the state attorney general about deceptive practices and bait and switch, when it occurs to me to pay with a credit card and dispute the bill, or a check and put a stop on it. I then ask to talk to the manager. He finally backs off and charges what the coupon says, but you know what? I shouldn't have to get mad and lose my temper to be given the contracted price. Life is too short for this type of scum operation. I will never let my shadow cross their path again, and suggest you do likewise. From reading many comments, this type of behavior seems endemic. Invoice number **, 8/15/13, then top off service on 9/30/13. Asked to speak to Manager on 9/30/13 about what had happened and to replace my oil cap. Frank said, "I will take care of it, but I had other customers right now". This amazes me that he had no real concern, this must happen all the time? Called back 2 1/2 hrs later, talked to Frank again, said he had not done it, but would get to it later, he said once again, "I have customers right now and cannot take care of it". I called the Fresno Mazda Lithia Dealer. It takes 2 days to have that cap brought in. Plus I do not know what the damage is for the vehicle overheating due to the oil not being in the motor the first time.

On completion of this work, the noise was still present! I took my car to another repair shop and they put a new water pump in, after which the noise completely went away! The noise had been a failing water pump. I returned to the Jiffy Lube (Coburg Road and Oakway, Eugene, Oregon) to tell them that they should not have made a diagnosis that my transmission linkage needed adjustment and they denied that they had ever made that recommendation to me.
I informed the location manager that a specific employee had indeed made that recommendation and he told me that he trusts his techs. He called me a liar, and ordered me off the premises. I drove out of the bay and into the street at a stop light, then gave the location manager a salute from the street to indicate my dissatisfaction, whereupon he taunted me to drive back onto the Jiffy Lube premises so he could assault me, and have me arrested for assaulting him! My very first time I went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, I didn't know that they repaired chips in your windshield and I had one so I told them to repair that for me. Well, they left a drill bit sticking all the way through my windshield and sealed it in there. They told me they will replace my windshield and it would not cost me anything. That's fine, no big deal, I thought. When they pulled my car out of the bay, they pulled my exhaust apart and bent it. They tried to fix it and could not. Then they said they would write a report but they didn't know what they would do about my exhaust because they tried to say I had a clamp missing and my exhaust was hanging down. I had no problem with my exhaust before going to Jiffy Lube. I had to leave there with a very loud car and my windows down in the rain because of fumes.
I took it to a muffler shop and they told me to fix it right, it would have to be replaced. They showed me the clamp that Jiffy Lube hit and bent and they told me I had no hangers or clamps missing, all were there where they should be. My exhaust was pushed back about 1/2 inch and bent. I had to pay $1,727.58 for that repair. Jiffy Lube denied my claim and will not pay anything toward the replacement of my exhaust. They told me I had to prove nothing was wrong with my exhaust. I had my car inspected and emission tested on May 15, 2013, 4 months before going to Jiffy Lube and only put 3903 miles on my car in that 4-month time. I feel Jiffy Lube needs to step up and take responsibility. They damaged my exhaust and then try to blame me for their mistake. The only mistake I made was going to Jiffy Lube in the first place.

So I'm about to leave on a seven-hour journey back to my home in Idaho after working for five months in Washington away from home. I decide to get my radiator flushed from Jiffy Lube and wow $107? I thought about doing it myself and saving $100 but the thought of being home outweighed the thought of saving $100 so I just decided to get it done. Oh and what do you know? An oil change is only an extra $7 with the radiator flush! "Great!" I think.
So after the service I get in my car and drive away. I get about a quarter of a mile down the road and my car breaks down. I look under the hood and find that they took the oil out of the car but they didn't put any oil into my car. So I had to hire a tow truck and I had to hire a mechanic to look at it and rent a car at an expense of over $2000. Jiffy Lube wasn't a lot of help with any of that and of course the technician who serviced my truck swears that he put oil in the car. So I need to file a claim against Jiffy Lube.

Taken advantage of at Crestwood, IL location - I have had oil changes done at various Jiffy Lubes in the Chicago-land area, and this is by far the worst experience to date. First, if a customer asks how long the wait is and how long the oil change process will take, it is customary to provide a realistic number. Don't say the wait is 15 minutes and the oil change will take 8 minutes when it ends up being almost a 2-hour total process. Second, honest business practices include talking to the customer PRIOR to starting to work on the car about the services that will be provided and costs associated. They emptied out the oil from my car prior to talking to me about what I was looking for, and then quoted me a $100+ oil change. What? I have never paid $100 for an oil change and my car runs beautifully. I told them that this is unacceptable, and we negotiated a lesser oil for $80. I was basically forced into doing the oil change because they had already taken all the oil out of my car. I was not able to leave and reject the service completely. Terrible business practices. Terrible customer service. I recommend that you STAY AWAY from this location at all costs. I was completely taken advantage of.

I just returned from a deployment to Kuwait with the US Army. My wife took her SUV to the Jiffy Lube center in Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs, NY on July 17th of this year, while I was still in Kuwait. While there they serviced the rear differential on her 2009 Hyundai Tucson. They replaced the fluid as far as I can tell looking at the service invoice, the print is misaligned to the whole thing to the point I needed a magnifying glass to read the invoice number. Well long story shot I was out driving her car today and notice some noise. When I returned home I checked the car over and noticed that the rear differential was leaking fluid. I called Jiffy Lube's excuse for a customer service line, left 3 messages and still have yet to get a call back. I am planning on going down to the Jiffy Lube she had the work done at. I am just appalled at the quality of customer service and the quality of their workmanship.

I drove my vehicle home (less than 5 miles) and parked it until next afternoon. There was oil all under my car, so I called to let them know my car was leaking and it had never done this before. I returned my car Monday morning and they looked for all about 5 minutes and attendant told me it was my oil pan. So he topped it off with a quart of oil?! To make a long story short, they screwed up the seal on the oil filter and they apparently fixed it when I took it back and gave me a bogus story about my drip pan. My car has not leaked since they fixed the error and lied about my drip pan. My car has not leaked since then. What is up with Jiffy Lube? I will return to Ford dealer for oil changes.

Had been a loyal customer for many years, taking my 1972 Corvette, my wife's car and my company truck for service. On the 8th of January 2013, I took my personal truck for an oil change and transmission fluid service. As they poured the transmission fluid in, they spilled some on the air filter cover and down the engine. The mechanic used a towel to clean it up. When they were done,I paid and went to go wash my truck. About five minutes later, my truck was on fire. After I put out the fire, I called Jiffy Lube and asked what they had done to my truck for it to catch fire and what they were going to do about it. They said it was not their fault.
So I had the truck towed to my mechanic and told him what happened. After looking at the damage, he determined that transmission fluid spilled onto the exhaust manifold and ignited. It took almost three weeks before the owner finally contacted me and we went to look at the truck. He insisted it was not their fault but would pay part of the repairs if I paid part of it. I told him I would not pay a dime because it was not my fault. I then had to take him to court in which I got a judgment in my favor. He appealed and we go to court again at the end of August. You would think that after all the years of doing business with Jiffy Lube, they would have treated me better and just taken responsibility and paid to have it fixed. So to let everyone know just because you have not had a problem at Jiffy Lube yet, when you do, they will not take care of you.

After they changed oil, my bill was $76. I questioned it and was told that the manufacturer requires synthetic oil. I wanted just the regular oil from the hoses. I was not told about different oils. When I went into the East Greenbush NY Jiffy Lube, I asked for just an oil change. They of course brought me back to show me my air filters and to ask about other services they could do for me. I politely explained that I only wanted my oil changed and that I would take care of the air filters at home myself. After the service was finished and getting back into my car and driving to the grocery store, I realized that my glove box was crooked. Apparently they put it in wrong and jammed it shut. I proceeded to pull it out and fixed it myself.
I also checked under the hood and found that they had not properly connected the back of the air filter housing which I also had to fix, nor had they topped off the windshield wiper fluid, although the receipt indicates they did. None of this caused any damage to my car but when you add the irritation of being pressured every oil change visit to pay for additional unrequested services that are not needed on a car that is only a year old to this experience, I will not be returning, nor would I recommend anyone take their car in for any service.

The mechanic documented every step of the process and once we determined that Jiffy Lube was responsible, Jiffy Lube had an insurance adjuster come out to "analyze" the engine. On July 10th used a $19.95 oil change special coupon and I had my oil changed in 2006 Honda Pilot by Jiffy Lube 862 which is owned by the Enitorgroup, LLC. Prior to service I did not have an oil leak. In the course of service I was notified that my break reservoir lid was not on tight. They said I could have air in the lines and made me concerned that I could have a problem. Since I had the brakes done recently (by Brakes Plus) I thanked them and said I would take it back to them.
Ironically what the Jiffy Lube service person failed to tell me was that there was a problem with the oil plug. After they finished the work I was still not made aware of a problem. The pink service invoice they provided me did not have any notes in the service comments area what so ever. The next morning when I went out to my car, I had a 3ft oil leak in my drive way. I called the store and spoke with an assistant manager named **. I took my SUV back down and ** then told me the oil plug was stripped and blamed it on the previous service center. Then he showed me their work order neatly printed out with notes in the Service comments that the "Drain Plug Stripped PTS". Then I showed them my copy. Mine had the information pushed up all the way into the service checklist section which I didn't see.
So to recap, they never mentioned the plug problem and tried to hide the fact in the invoice notes. Pretty clever I'd say. ** offered to try and tighten the bolt but it still leaked. Since the manager was not there I would have to come back on Friday. So first thing Friday I went in to see the manager **. I asked why I had not been made aware of this before they finished the work. All the service centers I've discussed with this said their policy would have been to stop. Secondly they all also said that the likely hood of it not leaking sooner was highly unlikely. The fact that the previous oil change was completed 9 months and 5000 miles earlier leads you to think so. He apologized for not making me aware of it but refused to accept any blame or provide any retribution. I then took the car up to Brakes Plus and tried to have the pan retapped for $80 but unfortunately it still leaks. So now I have to have the pan replaced. I've had three bids so far ranging from $700-$1000. So my $19.95 oil change is now going to cost me... ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!?!?!?

This is a BIG lesson learned in "never trust anyone." My wife's 2006 Mercury Mountaineer went in for typical lube/oil/filter on Saturday, 6/15/2013, at one of their franchise shops in Pittsburgh, PA area. The next morning, she immediately went on the PA turnpike and within 100 miles, the front differential had blown up resulting in over $1,800 in expenses (Ohio transmission repair, towing, rental car, etc). I HIGHLY SUSPECT that the car was programmed into low-range 4X4 mode after the oil change by the tech who pushed the buttons on the dashboard computer in the process of resetting the 3,000 mile oil change indicator. The 4X4 locked mode is the menu selection just before the oil light reset menu.
Okay, so my wife didn't notice the light on the dash the next morning when she got on the turnpike, but it really gets me that Jiffy Lube totally rejected my claim because the transmission checked out just fine 2 weeks prior in Chicago. Let this be a lesson to always watch over your own car. Listen and look for any anomalies immediately after leaving the service place. Mistakes do happen and can be very costly.

After I came back from getting back from the oil change, I noticed that oil was dripping from my drain bolt. I wiped it down. Still, more oil was coming from the bolt. So we called the Jiffy Lube in Elk Grove and asked them to look at it. They took only about 10 minutes and said, "We are done." After bringing it back, we looked at the drain bolt. Oil was still coming down. Totally being frustrated at this point, we decided to take it to Firestone and had them look at it.
The manager at Firestone was great. He told me that he used to work for them and then explained that they did not tighten the drain bolt properly and that it looked like they had put some sealant. Firestone replaced the drain bolt and took their time. We took it home and finally there were no leaks at the drain bolt. I went to Jiffy Lube on Berlin Tpke. in Wethersfield, CT next to Hooters for an oil change. I realize that the days of a $20 oil change are long gone so the price they charged me is not the problem. I waited about 25 minutes to get my car in - still no problem. My problem starts when a tech came up to me while I was outside right next to the front of the building. He was showing me an air condition filter; I guess that he said was dirty and should be replaced. I looked at the filter which I had replaced 5,000 miles ago at different place and only saw a couple of helicopters in it (maple seedlings). So I hit the filter on the side of the building and the three to four helicopters fell out. The tech was not pleased. I didn't think I did anything wrong so carried on with my business.
I walked back into the waiting room and all of a sudden, they call my name and my truck is done. It seemed pretty fast but I still didn't think anything was wrong. I left and went on my way. I did a few errands and no problems. Later that day, I turned on my air or defrost, can't remember which, and heard a weird noise. The next day at work, I told a buddy and he took I ride with me. He pulled out the filter and there were 2 fully intact maple leaves which when the fan went on made a weird noise. I went there and they said they had a filter that fit my car, even though it wasn't car specific. Then, they jammed it in and broke a very sensitive part behind the glove box called the A/C Rocker Arm. Fortunately, my car warranty covered the damage because they didn't notice the air filter wasn't the correct one but I know people (my brother for one) that had to pay a portion out of pocket. I let them know on my next visit about the problem and they said I would have to write a letter for the owner and speak with him regarding any claim matter (even though I didn't want any money since my dealership did the repair) but I did want them to admit to using the wrong size filter.
They ran through the checks they did on the car and even had me walk around the car with them (including the tire pressure) and said I was all set to go. So I got into the car and my tire pressure gauge showed I'm low on air (6 PSI lower than what he just said). So I got out of the car, opened my trunk, got out a manual gauge and asked him what my tire pressure was again and proceeded to take it manually. It turned out all of my tires were off. No big deal. I just don't appreciate being lied to and why say they checked it if they didn't? How do I know they did the other checks they said they would do?
Then, I thought I'd give them one more chance. I drove there with my girlfriend and asked them to do an oil change, same thing as last time, no air filters, synthetic. I told them I was in a rush so they ran through it all with me. I left them the key and my GF drove us off to a dinner we were late for. I came back about an hour and a half later, about 10 minutes before they close and my car is just sitting there with the key above the tire. They told me they wanted me to sign the paper or estimate or something before they started working on the car but they didn't give it to me before I left. They had it printed out when they were ready to work on the car. It's an oil change, people; unscrew, drain, replace filter, screw back in, fill with oil. They ultimately took no responsibility for any of their actions and I can tell they try with their customer service but I think it's because they are directed to. They don't actual mean it.

I had recently purchased a great condition new to me vehicle a few months prior to my first oil change and lube service coming due. At the recommended mileage I was told by my dealership, I took my SUV to the Jiffy Lube store in Sherwood, OR end of September 2012 and purchased a signature service oil change. All seemed fine and well until the next morning when I backed my new vehicle out of my 10 x 12 garage where my vehicle has been parked every night since purchasing said vehicle, and found a huge puddle of oil where my car had sat overnight. I called my mechanic on the spot and he said to check the dipstick to ensure I had enough oil still left. He told me to go to the nearest Jiffy Lube immediately, tell them I had been serviced yesterday, and explain what was happening.
I even snapped a picture with my phone to show the manager of the Tigard store where I limped back to. After pulling my car into the pit, the manager checked everything out and said that they had overfilled my oil and the excess oil had simply dripped off my skid plate. He said they cleaned it all up and I should have no further issues. I wish! After cleaning up the previous oil spill on my garage floor upon my return home, the next morning, I was terrified to find the same amount of oil dripped out of my vehicle that night again! I took it back to the Tigard store that day to be told by an employee that a hole had been poked in my cars oil pan return line! As the manager wasn’t on site, I took the paperwork (with no sound description of what I had just been told!) to my personal mechanic to be told yes, Jiffy Lube had damaged my vehicle by subsequently making a hole in the return line.
I immediately took the paperwork for my mechanic back to the original Jiffy Lube that had poked the hole in the return line only to be told by the manager on site that I, as the consumer, must prove they, Jiffy Lube, had actually done the damages and that the problem didn't already exist on my vehicle before bringing it to them! I was livid! My mechanic estimated roughly $800 + in damage had occurred (and that was just a best case scenario from what he could see on the outside without tearing into my vehicle) and Jiffy Lube pretty much told me to kick rocks! Wait! It gets worse!
Being trusting and probably admittedly stupid, I took the same vehicle months later to the Jiffy Lube store on Canyon in Beaverton, Oregon late afternoon on February 24th, 2013 for a signature oil change again, thinking "Well, the damage is already done. I might as well get the $19.99 oil change. What fresh hell could they bring me?" Boy, how I regret that decision! While sitting in my vehicle during the second signature service, the technician offered to fix a tiny rock chip in my window. He informed me that my insurance would cover it and it only take a few minutes to fix, which it did, fine and dandy! Then once he figured they had gotten me into a purchasing mood, the same technician told me that my car's air filter was completely black and full of leaves, which it was. So for a mere $13, I could improve my car's gas mileage exponentially by purchasing a new air filter, so I did just that.
Upon leaving the store that day, I made it a total of 2.5 blocks from Jiffy Lube before my car sputtered and died on train tracks no less! After being stalled on the train tracks, in traffic for over 5 minutes, some good Samaritans pulled over and helped me move my vehicle to the side of the road. How pitiful I must have looked, a stranded woman in rush hour on some train tracks! I called for a tow truck and attempted to have my car towed back to the JL store that was now of course closed! I then had no choice but to have my vehicle towed home as it was a Sunday and most mechanics are closed on Sundays! The next day, I paid for another tow truck to tow my car to my mechanic. After spending well over $400 in two tow bills in a 24-hour period, I had zero money to have the car repaired right then so sadly my car sat in the mechanics lot for five days until payday struck, leaving me stranded and riding public transportation or begging rides of friends until that next Saturday. Sweet!
Once I have ponied up the cash to have the mechanic actually look at it, he popped the hood and laughed! No joke. The punk kid at Jiffy lube had forgotten to reattach the vacuum lines on my intake after installing the "you just have to have it" $13 air filter! He plugged them in and presto! My car fired to life! $75 later, that is! Because of this one careless mistake, I had to pay over $500, was stranded for 5 days and could have died on some train tracks! (Not to mention the previous $800+ Jiffy lube already owes me after leaving my car with a chronic perpetual oil leak from back in September!) I called the corporate office and the general manager Shawn of the Pacific Northwest Division of Jiffy Lube did call me back with an offer to pay for the tow fees only if I could provide them with receipts, which I’m in the process of doing at the moment! But he did not offer to pay the mechanic’s fee for fixing the vacuum lines that their stoner tech forgot to reconnect! Awesome!
Moral of the story? Pay the extra $10-$20 and take your car to a reputable mechanic or your dealership for any and all service, even for a simple oil change, or an air filter! Jiffy Lube offers very little to no training to their GED holding, greasy, pimple faced technicians, albeit that’s a stretch to call them that. Technicians usually have some prior knowledge or skill set and a large percentage of the men and women employed at these places have neither! Jiffy Lube openly recruits and hires people with no previous experience required (as stated in their online classified ads seeking employees) and many also have criminal backgrounds! I will never go back to a Jiffy Lube! Not even at gunpoint!
Jiffy Lube, I want my $1, 378 back and a sincere apology! (I hope no serious or permanent damage has been done to my poor unsuspecting vehicle). Keep treating your customers this way and you have no customers! I see a $4.99 oil change with a free hot dog special in your company’s foreseeable future!

I left the shop, went home and everything was okay. Next day Saturday, I had a lot of chores to attend to; however, when I pulled out of driveway, all I heard were rings and noises from the engine. They did come to meet me on the road. You could see all of the oil put in the day before drained on the street. The man put the oil in and followed Ed and me to the shop. He advised that a wire was hanging low, and that's where the oil was draining out. In other words, the ** who did the oil change did not put the plug bag on. I am still praying it did not mess the engine up that I have to end up buying a new car. They are **, and now I am afraid to drive the car anywhere.

My son had an oil change on 02/03/2013. Within a month, the vehicle had locked up on the highway. Thank goodness he wasn't hurt and no one else was either. He went to a mechanic thinking something was wrong with his brakes. Brakes, rotors and tires were fine. We had just purchased this vehicle 6 months ago, and the dealer put 4 brand new tires on as well as new front rotors and brakes so you can understand our concern.
After inspection, we were told that the brake fluid was greasy, not normal. It even had a smell. The vehicle locked up a second time within days of the last incident so I went to the dealer where we purchased the 2004 Jeep Liberty to see if they could help us out. They only told me that we would have to flush the brake lines and replace everything. I went to one more mechanic just to cover my tracks and make sure that everyone was telling me the same story. Yep, everyone said someone put an oily substance in the brake fluid reservoir!
I have contacted Jiffy Lube since they were the last to service the Jeep. And of course they are saying that it is impossible for that to happen because they are not allowed to touch the brake fluid, nor do they carry brake fluid. Well, is it possible that somebody had no clue what they were doing and put power steering fluid in my brake fluid reservoir? Now, I have a vehicle that is not drivable with a four year loan and full coverage insurance! Both mechanics have said all calibers, master cylinder and hoses would have to be replaced because they are swollen and contaminated! $1,081.00 worth of work! So, who is going to pay for that?

On Feb. 14, 2013, I went to Jiffy Lube #1767 in Beavercreek, OH. I had previously purchased a Groupon for a Signature Oil Change with Rain-X Treatment (a $70.97 value). When asked if I wanted high mileage oil, I agreed thinking it would only cost a few extra dollars over the Groupon. After completion of the oil change, tire rotation, and spraying Rain-X on the windows (I did not receive the interior vacuum which was supposed to be part of the signature oil change), I was charged an additional $30.03. That was for not even 5 quarts of oil. With the value of the Groupon and the price I was charged, the Signature Oil Change cost me $100. I have been in contact with Jiffy Lube and am hoping for a reimbursement for what I was over charged.

This did not correct the problem, so I returned again on 02 Feb. 2013 and spoke with District Manager, Michael ** who informed me that I needed to replace my engine oil pressure sensor switch, after using the engine light detector. Mr. ** indicated he would pay for the switch and I would be responsible for the labor. I informed Mr. ** that his solution was not fair to me. There was nothing wrong with my car when I brought it to his place of business (Jiffy Lube) until after the oil change, which triggered the engine oil sensor switch and I should not have to pay any additional cost for Jiffy Lube's error. My car is still not fixed.

I just had an evil experience at Jiffy Lube #27583933 NE 4th St, Renton WA 98056. I took my 73 Ford into their shop because I needed to have the transmission serviced. They had a special running, so I got the oil change for 5 bucks more. Big mistake. First, there was an incompetent tech that couldn't even find the dipsticks. He looked in the power steering pump trying to find the oil. I finally walked out and pointed it out to him, and walked away. About 5 minutes later, he walked in and asked me, "Has this ever happened to you before?" while holding my broken dipstick tube and dipstick.
What followed was an hour of them trying to shove it back in backwards, etc. The stick broke off with part inside the compression hole. There was no shoving it back in or "gorilla glue and tape" to fix it as was suggested by the tech under the vehicle. The tech who broke it of course didn't accept responsibility and the rest of the crew run with that idea so suddenly it's 4 against 1 even though only one guy had his hands on the dipstick.
Later, I found out I needed to come back and talk with their "manager," who is another punk kid who immediately tried to do the same crap to fix it and suggested "jb weld" to which I said, “No, it needs to be fixed correctly and I'm not going to risk that stuff getting in the engine.” So the manager sent me to get 3 quotes. Yes, I had to have 3. I was told emphatically Jiffy Lube would take the lowest one. I was further told they would only pay for what was quoted so if anything came up, it was too bad. Even the mechanics I talked too were shocked because they can't give a quote for something that may or may not happen. To replace the dipstick on my truck, they "might" be able to get it out and replaced without pulling the engine, so 4 hours and 4 hundred. If a bolt breaks in the process, I would supposedly be left with a "too bad" situation. If the engine has to be pulled, oil pan needs to be dropped and it's running 8-9 hours and a thousand bucks for the repair if nothing goes wrong.
Well, I took these quotes in and I was told immediately they weren't going to do anything and that it was broken before they touched it. I contacted Jiffy Lube directly and they refuse to hear it and claim franchise, etc. even though it is Jiffy Lube's name on it. They also added a note into the receipt - dipstick broke on arrival. Supposedly my signing for my keys is being claimed as agreement. Unfortunately there is a problem with this. I signed under duress, I needed to get my vehicle to a repair shop and I didn't get my keys unless I signed. The signature was simply authorization to do work and that the work was received. Nowhere was it agreement with what was written. They knew emphatically before I signed and left I would be getting quotes and submitting the claim. They then began to stonewall me. Instead of making things right, they hit me with a no trespass. This further violated the contract or agreement allowing me free top-offs (which are needed now that I'm leaking more oil because of their damage).
So now I'm waiting for a call back from the franchise. Jiffy Lube Corporate hung up on me. If I don't receive resolution this afternoon from their district manager, I'm going to King5 and Kiro7 and I'll stand outside of their shop with a sign on the sidewalk if I have to. This shop is going to cost me over a grand in repairs. I wouldn't care if they could get it done cheaper, if they had a proper mechanic, but they don't and won't even attempt it.

I had my AC serviced at the Jiffy Lube on Adams Ave. in Huntington Beach, CA in October of 2012. I was told by Louie that I should have come back one month earlier as there is a 1-year warranty on this service and I was in just over a year ago. I paid for another service and told him that I would come back if I needed a recharge of freon as I now understood it was covered for one year. I took my car back this Monday, 1/20/13, and was told that the warranty was only for 3 months. How ironic that Jiffy Lube employees tell you that you just missed being covered. I called Jiffy Lube customer service to complain and was told I would get a call back in a few days.
I just got a call back from a man named Angel (same name as the manager at Jiffy Lube who told me 3 months ironically). Angel, CS guy, would not give me the Jiffy Lube AC warranty policy. He kept telling me to just bring it back when needed. I find it amazing that a company this big does not have an actual AC warranty policy, time frame. What an easy way to scam customers, "Oh, you should have been here yesterday" policy. I will never go to another Jiffy Lube again and I'll tell all I know that they are a fraud/scam. I am also going to relay this experience to all consumer protection people at my local news stations. This is absurd customer service and is not okay and should be made public!

On 1/18/2013, I went to Jiffy Lube #1734 in Fridley, Minnesota. I asked for a simple $24.99 oil change. I was charged $3.00 extra because my truck was a four wheel drive with a total of $27.99 - something that I and many mechanics had never heard of. Seriously, the oil goes in and drains the same as a non-four wheel drive. As the tech (if that is what he was?) said, he moved my 99 Ford Explorer XLT for about 15 feet, only to inform me that I needed a transmission flush. I informed that I may be a female, but I am not a dumb female and that my transmission was fine. The tech needed to go back to transmission school. They then attempted to tell me that I needed a new battery, that my present battery would not start my truck in less than 27 degrees.
Presently (1/20/2013), the temperature outside (I parked my truck outside and it is 10:46PM) is -7 degrees with a -39 degrees windchill and guess what? My truck started without a problem. I guess the tech needs to return to battery school too. The techs also checked on my receipt that they vacuumed and cleaned the inner and outer windows. They were not touched. The tech insisted that they were not in the business of trying to sell me something. If that was not an attempt to sell me something, again, go back to selling school.
The consequences of my visit is that I refuse to ever deal with a Jiffy Lube again and will inform anybody of the ridiculous service that is received there. At this point, there is nothing that would get me to step foot in a Jiffy Lube again.

I own a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. I brought my Cruze into Jiffy Lube #2335 (JL#2335) on January 19, 2013 for an oil change. At the time of service, my Cruze's mileage was 38,967. I have record of timely oil changes (full synthetic) and preventative maintenance services (cabin filter replace, engine filter replace, etc) at JL#2335. In other words, my vehicle has been well cared for, maintained and I have never had any type of maintenance issue as of today, January 19, 2013. During my visit to JL#2335, I was informed that my engine showed signs of potential buildup in the engine and an engine professional flush was recommended.
I inquired if the engine flush procedure was needed and if General Motors recommended such a procedure for my specific vehicle model/make. The JL#2335 service representative informed me that yes, the procedure was needed and would prolong the life of my engine. The JL#2335 service representative also responded that yes, an engine flush was recommended by General Motors for my vehicle make/model. Given this information, I agreed to allow JL#2335 to perform the recommended engine flush.
As I sat in the waiting room, I researched up engine flushes (more out of curiosity) and was horrified to discover the following information: engine flushes have not been independently proven to extend the life of vehicles, especially those that are modern and are well maintained (my vehicle is both modern and well-maintained); not only does General Motors not proactively recommend engine flushes, it actually advises against performing them (page 10-12 of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Owner’s Manual cites, engine oil system flushes are not recommended and could cause engine damage not covered by the vehicle warranty).
In addition, GM Technical Service Bulletin 04-06-01-029E (released in April 2010) referring to 2011 and Prior GM Passenger Cars states General Motors Corporation does not endorse or recommend engine crankcase flushing for any of its gasoline engines. Analysis of some of the aftermarket materials used for crankcase flushing indicate incompatibility with GM engine components and the potential for damage to some engine seals and bearings. Damage to engine components resulting from crankcase flushing is not covered under the terms of the New Vehicle Warranty.
By telling me that General Motors recommends this type of procedure for my vehicle make/model, the JL#2335 service representative misrepresented the facts and flat out lied to me. If I had known this information ahead of time, I would not have agreed to the engine flush. I am now in a situation where my vehicle could have engine damage, not covered by the warranty, resulting directly from an ancillary service that JL#2335 recommended, performed and misled me about. After discovering this information, I tried to stop the engine flush before it happened, but I was too late. I asked to speak to the JL#2335 manager which I did. The JL#2335 manager was less than helpful.

I took my 2004 Ford Explorer to a Jiffy Lube in Mechanicsville, VA just prior to a 3,000-mile road trip, for a routine oil change two weeks ago. Among the add-on services recommended, I accepted tire rotation as they told me my tread showed a wear pattern that should be alleviated before driving that distance. We left the following day, and within the week both tire-covers (the decorative portion that covers the wheel hubcap) on the right side of the vehicle had fallen off while we were driving. The technician who rotated my tires forgot to re-attach the wheel covers and just placed them loosely back on.
I contacted the Jiffy Lube immediately upon return, and the manager immediately offered to procure the parts and replace them at no charge to me. I brought my vehicle to the shop for them to review the missing parts and measure for the new ones, and within days the manager called back to let me know the parts were in. I was very satisfied that they resolved that issue, given some of the other treads I have read about damage caused to cars and appreciated that the manager followed through on what he said he would do.
In the same visit where they replaced my wheel covers, I asked them to change my oil again since we had just driven 3,000 miles and they did so. I declined all of the optional services that they offered. I live within a few blocks of the Jiffy Lube and drove home about 35MPH on back roads. The next morning, as I got on the interstate and approached 75MPH, I realized that the hood of my Explorer was bouncing freely (actually whipping up and down in the wind) as I was driving down a 4-lane interstate. The tech had "forgotten" to latch my hood back down. Luckily, I was able to park and re-latch my hood, but that never should have happened. If I had not been able to pull over, that could have caused a serious accident on the interstate if my hood flew up over my windshield. I did call the same manager back and informed him. He apologized and said that he would give me a discount the next time I came in. I can promise, there will not be a next time. I can't trust my safety and the safety of my children to a shop where twice in a two-week period, negligence appears to be the norm.

On August 23, 2012, I went to my local Jiffy in North Kansas City, Missouri for a routine oil change. Of course, they have to up sell other services and they suggested I get a radiator flush. I advised that I would get the service next time I come in. Upon completion of the oil change, I paid and got on the highway en route to Chicago to take my emission test to register my plates and spend the weekend with family and friends. Two hours into my trip, my car started stalling and within seconds, I was engulfed in a cloud of smoke. Thankfully I was able to get on the shoulder to escape cars and 18 wheeler trucks going anywhere from 75 to 80mph. 5 months pregnant myself with no air, stranded in the middle of nowhere (Van Wert, Iowa I found out after calling 911), I called my husband. When I finally conquered enough nerve to get out of the car and look under the hood, to my surprise I saw dried up fluid on my door and hood.
When I looked under the hood, there was the cap sitting next to the opening of the radiator. The gentleman forgot to put the top on after recommending I get the flush. To make a long story short, they had to rescue me from Iowa (2 hours and 30 minutes wait), tow my car back to Kansas City ($600 bill), get me a rental while they repair my car (not sure of tab) and replace my engine ($1,275). Well the story doesn't end there. Now that the engine is replaced, my check engine sensor, ABS sensor and esc sensor (which was never oil before) will not go off. Upon my visit to the Hyundai dealer, I was advised I now have a non-functioning ABS sensor, which triggers the other sensors and that sensor was removed when the new engine was replaced.
The total to correct is $2,300 and of course, Jiffy states the engine has nothing to do with the ABS sensor control so they will not cover it. So now my 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe sits in my garage with expired plates undriveable because I cannot pass an emission test with a check engine sensor and my plates expired back in August. So now instead of getting my nursery together for my baby that will be here soon, I'm in the process of finding a lawyer to take Jiffy Lube to court!

I pulled in to Jiffy Lube in Burbank, CA. They seemed to be slow, which I took to be a good sign for a quick oil change in my truck. When the employee asked which oil I use, I told her the high mileage. She noted it took more than the standard 5 quarts, which I acknowledged. She printed out the estimate, which was for about $45. I mentioned that I had a coupon for $15 off and she informed me it would be taken off the total when I pay for it after the service was completed. They were very fast. I came up to the counter to pay and the cashier said it was $79! I was shocked! I showed my estimate and she said it was because I wanted the high mileage service, which was a higher base price.
I asked why my estimate stated otherwise. She then went to someone in the service bay and he briefly stepped into the waiting room and said it was the wrong service, that the estimate was wrong. I asked how it was wrong if the high mileage oil was listed, to which he stated the extra quart was not listed. I showed him the estimate, pointing out that the extra, the sixth quart, was indeed on the invoice. He then said the base service was extra. Then, he said he couldn't give me that oil for the lower price, so he told his guys to pull my truck back into the bay and take out the oil and replace with the lower grade oil. After this, I was a little concerned, wondering if they might do something to my truck since I'd complained about the difference in the price between the estimate and the final price.
I was on a road trip the next day and upon my reaching my destination, after an uneventful 8 hours of driving, suddenly my oil pressure dropped and the warning light came on. I drove ahead, trying to figure out what to do and then it seemed all right. At the next traffic signal, however, it did the same thing. I checked the oil level and it was OK. I asked a relative, who is a mechanic, and he couldn't see anything wrong and suggested to just keep an eye on it. The next day, it seemed fine until the radiator overheated suddenly! Jiffy Lube had suggested it needed a full flush, which I'd done within the last 12 months already. I filled it and it seemed all right after that. Upon leaving, I received calls at 5:35, 5:38, and 5:39 from the technician to inform me to return to the store because he had "accidentally put a recalled oil filter" on my car. Unfortunately, my car didn't make it back to the facility. My car began sputtering really bad and wouldn't accelerate over 25 mph. I contacted the store and the gentleman came to the gas station where I had broken down. He put my car up on the jack and switched something out allowing me to make it back to the store.
Upon returning to the store, the reps looked at my car again and stated nothing was wrong. My car still wasn't running correctly but the store was closing. The next morning I contacted the area manager and he advised he would tow my car to any mechanic I chose. I requested to go to one mechanic. He stated he would have it towed to the facility that Jiffy Lube uses. I agreed. The mechanic did a diagnostic check on my car and found that the oil pump had gone out, which would have occurred if the wrong filter had in fact been placed on my car as the technician at Jiffy Lube had stated. He informed this to the area manager (David **), who in turn contacted me to advise it was regular wear and tear and that his company was not responsible. David offered to retrieve the oil filter and have it tested to determine if in fact it was a bad filter; however, as I explained to him, the filter that was currently on the car wasn't the original filter that Jiffy lube had placed on the car during the initial oil change as the product numbers are different.
According to the receipt, the filter that was placed on my car during the service is of 123bp; however, by the time my car made it to the mechanic the next day, the product number on the filter is pof5288 and the partial number from the receipt is written on the filter that is on the car at this time. However, Jiffy lube is adamant about not having changed the filter once the car left the first time. I have spoken to Steve (store manager), and David ** (area manager), and Robert ** (division manager) several times in an effort to get my car fixed. These men are only interested in taking the filter that is currently on the car to be tested. That filter I can assure you is fine because they have already replaced the bad filter. Invoice number is **. My car is still at the shop where they had it sent to non-drivable.

On June 29, 2012, my daughter and I took our two cars, 2000 Toyota Sienna and a 2000 Acura CL to the Jiffy Lube in Manassas, VA on Centreville Road. I got the premium oil change, a new air filter and my tires rotated. The total is about $130.00. My daughter got her tires rotated, a signature oil change and a new air filter. Her bill was $34.00. I took out my credit card, it wouldn't work. I later found out that the strip that reads the information on the card was bad. I did not have my check book with me, so my daughter paid with her checking account (I reimbursed her when we got home). They scanned the checks to make sure you have the money to cover the scanned fine.
Two weeks later, when checking our accounts, I found the checks had not cleared. My daughter went by the shop (JL) and was told the checks were bad (not true). She then went to our credit union and they said they haven't received the checks and there were plenty of money in her account to cover them. She took out the money and went back to Jiffy Lube and paid cash. They said they would remove the returned check fees which totaled $100.00 as she wrote two checks. They did not give her a receipt and said they couldn't, and gave some lame excuse. Well now we have TSR (a collection agency) calling and mailing us, saying we owe the amounts for service plus $100.00 in returned check fees.
I called JL's manager Jason and he said he would call the corporate. He called me back and said the corporate said it's paid, that I needed to call their bank BB&T and to get it resolved. I said, "No, I do not. You are the ones who caused this problem and it's your bank." He said he would call the corporate again and get back to me. Nothing so far. Besides that, when they rotated our tires, my Sienna lost 2 wheel covers (I didn't find out until I got home) and after backtracking, never found them. It will cost me $40 to replace and they threw my daughter's wheels out of balance which cost us $50 to repair/fix. So above the service charge for the day, we also had almost $100.00 in expenses to fix the problems they caused. We have been customers for over 20 years. This is insane. Also, I might add that Jason seems rather unconcerned with all this to say the least.

After leaving Woodbridge Jiffy Lube, the truck began back-firing, stalling-out, and the engine service light came on within 2 miles. On July 18th, Jiffy Lube service manager used computer and said a cam sensor was bad, causing the issues. Parkway Automotive changed sensor, but it didn't correct the problems. After flushing and replacing the oil, the problems were solved. Parkway thinks wrong oil or too much caused the engine to build-up too much pressure. The regional manager thinks that the cam sensor was the problem, but after changing them the problems still existed. Only Jiffy Lube worked the truck on July 17 & 18. When I lived in Long Beach, California, I took two of my cars to Jiffy Lube for an oil change. On the first car, I was told the treads on my oil drain bolt were stripped and I needed to fix that before they could put the drain bolt back in and the new oil. I said, “Well, you stripped it, you fix it.” The manager said no, it was already like that and I had to pay to fix it. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I argued that I know for a fact it wasn’t stripped because I normally do all my own work on my cars and oil changes. I always finger tighten the bolt first. I ended up paying just to get out of there. The next time, they said one of my grease zerts was clogged and needed to be replaced. It was only a couple of dollars so I gave the go ahead. Next, they come back and tell me the treads are stripped and I needed to pay to fix it before the new one can be put in. I will never go to a Jiffy Lube again! They are very dishonest and have a reputation for damaging people’s cars, then claiming they didn’t do it. They have been sued many times for good reason!

I had my oil changed on my 2002 Toyota 4runner on 7/18/12 at 1210 West Paptrick St. in Frederick, MD. The following morning, I noticed two pools of oil on my garage floor, and it's 8 inches in diameter and 4 inches in diameter. I placed a 2-quart water container that's about 9 inches tall next to the oil spots. Then, I took photos with my cell phone to show the manager. He said that's normal and that they could not always get oil off the skid plate after the oil change. I told him there should never be any leak after an oil change and that it should be of the service to be sure this doesn't happen. He said, "Frankly, mister, that's not very much oil."
He proceeded to tell me that I could have them remove the skid plate to clean it but that if the bolts broke, it would be at my expense. Needless to say, my blood pressure rose significantly. My 4runner has 269K miles, and my wife's Camry has 170K miles. I showed the manager the receipt from my 4runner that gives a brief history of our loyal business with them. We have been doing business with Jiffy Lube for many, many years. I'm religious about routine oil changes. In fact, I've spent approximately $2,300 for oil changes for my car alone, not to mention my wife's care.
The manager on duty to seemed like he could have cared less about my complaint. I said to him that Jiffy Lube is not the most economical place to get an oil change and that there are plenty of competitors who would gladly take my business. And that is exactly what I will do. We will not be returning to this Jiffy Lube at all.

On 6-27-12, I had my oil changed at the Jiffy Lube In Blackwood, NJ on Blackwood Clementon Rd. On 6-29-12, on my way home from work at around 11:30PM, I was on Rt 95 S when my engine began making a tapping and knocking sound and the oil light began blinking. The light stayed on and the noise got louder. I stopped in a Wawa parking lot and checked the oil stick. There was a little oil on the stick. I bought 2 quarts of oil, put it in the car and the loud knocking continued. I checked the oil stick, there was still no reading. I put 2 more quarts of oil in and the tapping and knocking continued. The light stayed on, but the oil showed on the stick. I tried to make it home, which was about 10 miles.
When the engine seized up and the car broke down on Rt 42 S, I spoke with the manager of the Jiffy Lube the next day. He picked me up to go have a look at the car. He checked it out and took pictures of the oil stick. He said that the oil looked thin and that the block could have cracked and antifreeze may have mixed with the oil. I told him that I had put 4 quarts of oil in the car because the car was knocking loud, the oil light stayed on and the oil stick was reading low. He had me tow it to my mechanic, which is Firestone in Blackwood, NJ, to have them look at it. They determined that the engine block had cracked and the motor had seized up.
When I contacted the manager at Jiffy Lube, he said that he and the owner had looked at the pictures that he took of the oil stick and determined that I put too much oil in the car and that if I wanted to prove differently, I would have to have the engine broke down at my expense and he would have an independent person look at the results. I have been driving for over 30 years, I am not a mechanic, but I know enough about cars that if the engine is tapping, the oil light comes on and the oil stick reads low, then the car needs oil. I was not having any trouble with the car before I took it to Jiffy Lube. I also would not just get an oil change and turn around in the next two days and put 4 quarts of oil in the car unless there was something wrong with it. I believe, and my mechanic agrees, that like the Jiffy Lube manager stated, if the antifreeze got into the oil when the block cracked from lack of oil, this could have caused the overflow on the oil stick.

I just needed a simple oil change and the price was $98.00 and it was because of the signature service equaling $43.99. I found this to be absolutely appalling due to the fact the dealer cost only $29.00. I've heard of highway robbery, but I plainly got stuck up! On June 13th, 2012, I took my 2006 Toyota Matrix to get an oil change on 23rd St. in Lawrence, Kansas. I was about to go on a trip out of state and was in need of an oil change before we left. I got the oil change done and as usual they tell you what else your car needs like new filters. They showed me that my oil filter was dirty and also my cabin air filter so I agreed to have them replaced along with the filters. The employee that was working on my car told me that my car needed an engine flush to clean all the gunk and debris out of my car to keep it working right.
I asked if it needed it not knowing what the process was or what an engine flush was at the time. He replied, "Yeah, your car needs it." He said, "I can just put the new oil in it and you can drive around the block and come back. Then the new oil that we just put in it will be dirty just like that." So I said, "Okay. Well, I don't want that," so he did the engine flush. Everything seemed to be okay when we left the Jiffy Lube but the next day, I left for my trip out of state. I didn't even get 100 miles away from my hometown before the car went downhill. I was driving on the highway turnpike going south. When I was going to pass a car, the engine hit in high gear. I then started to hear a loud ticking sound coming from under the hood of the car. I started to turn back into the slow lane to pull the car over. I was trying to get back in the right lane to pull over waiting for the car that was currently in the lane to get past me so that I could pull over when the car started to slow down.
I pushed the gas to try to speed up a bit but then, all of a sudden, I heard a pop sound then it sounded like something fell off. Then all the lights came on, the engine light, the oil lights and then the car died right in the middle of me trying to get to the shoulder of the highway while cars were passing me at high speeds. I had to coast to the shoulder of the highway. I got to the shoulder safely but the car was dead and I was in the middle of nowhere with my family and my dog in the hot weather. I got on my cell to call a tow company for Emporia, Kansas and 45 minutes later, the tow truck showed up. We were hot and sweaty and tired. He towed us back to Emporia where he had to spend the night at a Best Western there until we could find a ride back to Lawrence. We had to leave my car there for 2 weeks until we could get the car.
The dealership I bought the car from went and got my car from Emporia, Kansas, 100 miles away, and brought it back to the dealership here in Lawrence where we were told the engine is locked up and that Jiffy Lube was sending an investigator to the dealership to look at the car to see what's wrong with it. But they are trying to say it's not their fault when they were the last and only people to touch my car. Everything was fine before I took it there and now the engine is locked up after their so-called care.

About 3 weeks ago, I went to a Jiffy Lube location in South Gate, CA and I came out paying about $100.00 more or less. I stopped after I saw a banner that advertised an oil change for I believe $21.99 + tax. When the associate-assistant called me in, he gave me a total of $30 something dollars and I mentioned something about the banner outside. Then he gave me another total of like $26 or something around there, and eventually he gave me the correct total which was supposed to be somewhere around $23.93 or a total close to that. At this point, I was already not trusting them and then he told me my car was due for something having to do with the radiator. I believe he gave me the prize of $89.00 or something around that range. I immediately said, "No thanks, I have a friend who's a mechanic."
After that, he mentioned something about just topping off some kind of liquid for $6.00. I again said, "No thanks." I left back to the waiting room and decided to go tell the Jiffy Lube associate to go ahead and do the $6.00 procedure because I didn't want to bother my friend the mechanic for something so simple and he said okay. I said, "Do I pay you in the meantime?" and he said something like, "No, afterwards". If he would've billed me in the first place like I said, I would've seen that he was going to go through with the expensive procedure. When I was given the total, I was so upset and angry and I explained to the associate that I didn't want that procedure done to my radiator.
It was a different associate this time around and she said the previous associate had given me "a discount". She then told me to talk to him again, but at this time, I was so displeased and angry, most of all, that I just wanted to pay and get out of there ASAP. A while after getting home, I realized that my car was leaking oil and I decided to check up on it a little while later and see if it was still leaking. It was still leaking and I decided to take it to another oil change place about two blocks from my house. The associate there told me that the oil filter was loose and this is why it was leaking. He also mentioned that the screw to get the oil out was stripped and that Jiffy Lube should've let me know.
I later remembered that my friend, the mechanic, did tell me the previous time when I did my oil change that we were going to have to get another screw on the next oil change because it seemed to be stripped and he didn't have another one at the moment. I think Jiffy Lube robbed me of my money and time. I also believe that if this company takes the time of letting you know of "supposed procedures your car is due for", that they can change a screw or nut if it's in need of one, or at least let the owner be aware that it needs a new one, instead of just pointing out the expensive supposed things it needs. I also would've liked to have been billed ahead of time like I told the associate. This way, there would've been no misunderstandings. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. I have the receipt in case you have any questions. Thank you again.

My wife takes her 2003 Honda Pilot with 166,000 miles in to Jiffy Lube store # 2354 (Sacramento) for an oil change. Prior to this service, this car has not leaked or seeped oil. The next morning, there is an oil spot on the driveway that is more than twice as large as my men’s size 12 foot. Also, the car is parked facing downhill and the drain plug is on the uphill or back of the oil pan when parked. She takes it back the very next morning with a total of 16 miles added to the car since oil change. Service comments at initial oil change were: "drain plug torque - manufacturer rec." Now that it has a leak, they state in writing that they "re-threaded the oil pan" and the reason for oil leak was because the drain plug "would not torque to manufacturer’s specs." How can the oil plug be torqued to manufacturer's rec one day and not able to the next day?
According to their regional customer service manager, they cannot be responsible for what could have possibly happened during the 16 miles and 1/2 day that passed from the first oil change and the inspection for the oil leak. Additionally, they claimed in writing on the service ticket for the first repair that they recommend an oil pan replacement as a permanent fix for an aluminum oil pan. To make matters worse, their fix did not correct the problem. It leaked oil on my driveway the next morning.
I called and stated the continued issue. They still claim worn threads due to age and mileage as the cause. I state that all vehicles with similar age and miles will have wear from previous oil changes. Additionally, if there was such significant wear that our car will leak as much oil as evident after their oil change, there would be signs of seeping and leaking at the time of oil change. Since there was no leaking or seeping issue prior, then there was no issue to call out to my wife and state in writing when the oil was originally changed. Jiffy Lube lacks integrity! They would rather argue and fight and hide behind weak excuses than admit fault when fault happens and properly fix. This is just a damaged oil pan, not an engine (yet) and they are still running and hiding from their responsibilities.

Right as they gave me my car back, I started up the car and the brake and ABS light came on and stayed on. I have not been able to get that checked as I haven't had the money to take it to a mechanic.
Two weeks later, however, the bulb they changed burned out. I was told when buying a bulb change from them before that they have 30-day warranty on that. So I took the car back again with receipt and asked them to replace it. The manager or supervisor in charge tried to immediately tell me, without really looking at anything, that it was my car's fault and not theirs. They returned the vehicle to the shop and checked for oil leaks and found that the skid pan had been filled with oil. They then had to take the skid pan off, clean it, and re-install.
On the way back to San Felipe, I noticed the oil gauge pressure was higher than it had ever been; it was fluctuating from low to high, and then a message on the panel came on, telling me that the engine power had been to reduced power. At that time, I was 10 miles from home. Again, this has never happened before. I am now in San Felipe, Baja, Mexico; and I am having to put the truck on a trailer and have it looked at at Fisher Motors in Yuma. I hope Jiffy Lube will honor the bill for this. I was offered a free oil change from a Jiffy employee named Greg, but I think I will pass on that one. Once bitten, etc!

I am a long time customer of Jiffy Lube as my records will show. My last service was on 3/10/12. A short time after, the car seemed to be jerking a little and soon after a vibration started on acceleration and then stop. On the morning of 4/3/2012, while on my way to work, I saw the oil light flicker. I immediately pulled into the nearest parking spot in a Publix and checked the oil. The dipstick was dry, not a drop.
I explained this to the manager and his response was, “It’s ok, we will pull your car in and correct it.” being as angry as I was, I told him, “It’s not ok. You almost blew up my engine.” As the argument got more heated, he began to fault me more and then taking my dipstick and hurling it at me in front of his own staff hitting the door where I was standing and landing at my feet.

The two employees at the store still worked on my vehicle for over a half hour. Printouts showing the Honda recommended service intervals, warnings about what could happen, etc. Then, in spite of that, I showed them the UPC code for a discount on my mobile phone, they informed me that I have to print out any coupon. Nice touch Jiffy Lube. Why even have a mobile application if you won't honor it. I've always been annoyed at the aggressive up-selling at Jiffy Lube. I will not be back.

I brought in a 2003 Volvo XC70 to Jiffy Lube at 4106 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside, CA for an oil change. The service guy informed me I really should also have my trans flushed. I agreed on his recommendation to do the service. Less than one week (570 miles) later, the trans service light came on and the vehicle started shifting strangely. I took it to the dealer and they told me the wrong fluid was used, it was overfilled. It has sustained irreparable damage and needs to be replaced.
I contacted manager “**” at JL, explained the situation and received a call from the regional director in Los Angeles whose name is “Shafer”. Shafer claimed they used their fluid with an additive to get it to “Volvo specs”. I spoke to another manager “**” of the other JL nearby at 1970 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside, CA and he told me he is aware that the trans oil they used is not compatible with my Volvo, that they have a chart that shows what cars are compatible with their “house fluid”, and that he has to go and obtain the proper fluid from a 3rd party when customers come in with these “specialty vehicles”.
Also, that they do not like to do this due to the cost they incur of $10-12/quart, but at his shop will purchase a couple extra cases for future customers. On top of that, the manager “**” of the location I went to, was the person that informed “**” of this! The service manual states the vehicle should only receive Volvo AW5 automatic transmission fluid. Quite simply, if a business is not qualified to do a service, they should not offer it. Due to their negligence, they have a financial and (should have) a moral obligation to repair this vehicle.

I left the store and headed to Wal-Mart and the bank, and my car began knocking and the computer shut the vehicle down. I called the Jiffy Lube techs back and they came to where my vehicle was parked and confirmed the error was their pit crew member’s fault for not installing the oil filter gasket properly.
I asked the manager ** to sign a paper confirming it was Jiffy Lube’s fault and that they would replace my engine with an equal or lesser mile engine and "take care of me." It is now March 16, I have no rental vehicle and the district manager ** is now trying to tell me it was not his crew’s fault when they already admitted fault the day it happened. Since the agent convinced me to go for all the recommended services, I proceeded. However, my car engine started getting noisy, immediately after service. The following day, the noise increased. I went to Jiffy Lube, and requested for them to look in to the issue. Since I am getting this noise after the service, there should be something wrong with the service. The agent looked into that issue, and told that it was not due to the services provided by Jiffy Lube, and there was some major problem, and I need to go to a full time service center.
I showed my vehicle to different service center, and they confirmed that the noise is due to the serpent belt, which was replaced by Jiffy Lube. I went again to Jiffy Lube, and told the same issue, but the agent at Jiffy Lube defended that it was not their fault, and they were reluctant to fix the issue. This is the only time someone actually came over to meet me. I wasn't familiar with the location felt lost and confused with. What now?
The time came to meet with an employee in their office to discuss the cost of the oil change but instead of getting the advertised price, which I did ask about, I was told that "because your car has high mileage we have to use a higher grade of oil." I didn't know what to make of this statement. I felt like I was bullied into the package I ultimately paid for $69.27! For an oil change! What the heck just happened here?

I have been taking all of my cars to Jiffy Lube for nearly 9 years now. For the most part, I have been pleased with their services. I will even go as far as to say they have never offered services that I did not need. In one case, I asked for a new air filter and was told that they would be happy to replace it if I wanted, but that it really didn't need replacement at that time.
On 12/16/11, I had a standard oil change and tire rotation performed. After several customers cars had arrived and left after my service started, I asked why the delay with my car. I was told that when the technician was re-inserting the drain plug in the oil pan, he stripped the threads out of the pan. They were trying to locate a temporary plug that was bigger and would fit. The shop manager said he was sorry and that he would take care of the repairs when I was ready as we needed the car the next day for a trip.
When I paid the bill, I noticed and mentioned that there was no mention of the damage done. I was told that I could write something down if I wanted. Of course I did, but felt like they were trying to sweep it under the rug. Several days later, I called the shop and spoke to the manager who said he would have to "get some numbers put together" and he would call me back with the plan of action. I then called my dealer and found that the repair would run approximately $375.00. I did not receive a call back and finally on 1/5/12, I called the shop again only to be told the manager was out and would call me the next day.
I called the shop on 1/6/12 and spoke to the manager who said that he didn't have my phone number (my account has been on their computer for almost 9 years now) so he wasn't able to call me back. He asked me to bring my car in to see if he could do the work himself. I did as he requested and was told by him that he could perform the work on Monday evening, 1/9/12 if I left it with him over night.
I left the car with the manager on 1/9/12 as requested but received a call from him as I arrived at my house (I guess he found my number on the system this time) and he said that he had taken all but one bolt out of the pan and found that it was under the transmission and that he couldn't do the job. He recommended that I have the father of his associate John do the work. He then said it would cost me $175.00. I explained that I was interested in paying anything for the damage they caused. The manager said that because my car has over 120,000 miles on it and the pan is aluminum, it wasn't there fault entirely.
I called the corporate hot line and filed a complaint. Their process now has me waiting up to 48 hours for a return call from the district manager/owner.

During his first visit at this Arnold location, he went with his granddaughter to translate for him since he speaks very limited English. The technician told his granddaughter that if he did not get the Engine Flush and Engine Treatment, the car will break down. My father told the technician twice that he wanted engine oil change only. The technician did not listen to him and told the granddaughter that there is a lot wrong with the car. The granddaughter, afraid that the car will breakdown, gave the technician the go-ahead on their recommendation to get the engine flushed. The Arnold location took advantage of two naive people: a child who is incapable of making a mechanical decision and an elder that spoke very limited English.
I called the Arnold location Manager Greg ** to get refunded. However, he refused, he stated that my father agreed to pay the amount. My father did not agree to additional services but only to get a $40 oil change. My father paid because the technician demanded him to pay the amount. We have been taking our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD to the local Jiffy Lube (Griffin Fast Lube LLC, at 2381 North 400 East, Ogden, UT) for oil changes since we moved to Utah about 3 years ago. This is not our commuter vehicle so we don't generally drive it a lot, however we were going to take several 2,000+ mile trips in September/October so wanted to get all required service done.
On 8/22/11, I took it in for oil change, transmission service, transfer case service, radiator flush and air filter change. I actually asked my brother who is a former auto mechanic if I should take it to Jiffy Lube for all these fluid changes. He said sure, all they are doing is changing the fluid, right? It needed a couple other things (minor tune-up, spark plugs, etc.) that I didn't feel comfortable having Jiffy Lube do. So we took it to the local Jeep Dealer on 9/8/11. About the time I took it to the dealer for the other work, I noticed a non-typical noise coming from under the car. I just mentioned it in passing to the dealer and they said it sounded like a loose torque converter bolt and they would need an hour diagnostic work to look at the transmission. Since we were leaving the next morning for one of our trips, I asked if it was something that needed immediate attention. They said no just make sure it doesn't get any louder.
So, we went on our trips and the noise was still there. We brought it back to the dealer on 12/19/11 to have them look at the issue again. They ended up keeping the vehicle for 2 days trying to diagnose the noise. They replaced the water pump which helped but there was still a noise coming from under the body of the vehicle. Upon investigation, they found that Jiffy Lube had put the wrong fluid in the transfer case. They put in regular transmission fluid while the vehicle (4 WD AWD) requires special gear oil with limited slip additive. The dealer replaced it with the correct fluid and it is fine now. (They did indicate there was about a 50:50 chance that there was permanent damage but it appears we did avoid that crisis).
So I went down to Jiffy Lube on 1/4/12 with all my paperwork and talked to the manager (facility manager) on duty and told him I want reimbursement for; the botched work they did, the diagnostic time and labor that the dealer had to do plus the cost to have the correct fluid put in. The dealer wrote me a letter indicating I should pursue them for $438.60. I told the manager I would be happy with $266.09. So, the manager indicates he can't make any decision and must call the regional manager/owner. He then said the regional manager will get back to me that afternoon.
I never received a call back that afternoon so waited almost 24 hours and called them. A different manager (floor manager) was on duty who had no idea what I was talking about but tried to call the facility manager and the regional manager/owner. After many calls, I am told that the regional manager/owner is in an all day meeting and can't talk to me today so they assured me he will call on 1/6/12.
(The facility manager did inform me that there is a disclaimer on the back of the invoice that indicates that they are no warranties on the vehicle repair or work if the customer performs corrective work without the Jiffy Lube Service Centers prior written approval. In this case, the repair work was initiated without Jiffy Lubes consent because we needed 2 days of diagnostic work to figure out what the issue was. So I don't see that their warranty is relevant in this case as it was not initially obvious that they caused the problem).
As of today, 1/7/12, it is apparent that this is not an issue that they will resolve and it is not important enough for the regional manager/owner to call me back. I will register a complaint with the recommended ConsumerAffairs.com website, the Utah State Attorney General and the BBB. I honestly don't expect to receive a dime back but at least this might help someone else avoid the horrible lack of customer service (and potential to damage my vehicle) that I received at this location. The fact that the regional manager/owner will not even talk to us is really what is driving this complaint.

After this experience, I didn't want to take the car back to JL, so next time I took it to our local mechanic to have them change the oil and see if anything was wrong. Due to criminal charges for overcharge services that customers did not request, Jiffy Lube makes money off innocent customers that are taken advantage of. Due to the frustration, my wife had to go to the hospital to ensure our baby was fine. I am deeply disappointed that companies like Jiffy Lube take advantage of innocent customers to make a few extra bucks. I can assure you that I will never go there again and will inform everyone that Jiffy Lube are thieves.

I had my oil changed at Jiffy Lube, xxxx **** Rd, Albuquerque in August this year. I went to Midas on 12/28/11 for an oil change. As the mechanic was removing the drain plug, he noticed threads coming out with the plug. I watched him remove the drain plug and contrary to excuses given by personnel at Jiffy Lube, the mechanic did not over tighten the plug while removing it nor did he try taking it out by tightening the bolt. Jiffy Lube offered to insert a steel insert to repair the damage they caused to the aluminum oil pan.
Since this is a 2010 vehicle with only 12,000 miles, I wanted the vehicle repaired properly. I have called two different Dodge dealers and both have told me that putting an insert in to replace the damaged part is not the way to go and they would not put in an insert but would replace the damaged pan. One repair shop I called who claims that a percentage of their business is repairing damage caused by Jiffy Lube also recommended replacing the oil pan.
I currently sit waiting for return calls from district manager, George. I told him when I would call him back, no answer. Left two messages, so far no call back. As this is my sole source of transportation, I really do not want to take a chance of a stop gap repair with the possibilities of major damage later. Do I risk further damage to my vehicle due to oil leaking or do I just sit home and wait and wait for someone to repair the damage caused by Jiffy Lube?

Needless to say, she was "very scared", being out on the highway and stranded in her car. I talked her through until she got to a safe lighted parking lot, so she could get out of car. Well, the problem? The Radiator Cap was off the Radiator!
The car was overheated and would not run. Now, I finally go to my daughter's car out of the parking lot that she was stranded in and safely pulled to the "nearest" gas station in Chelmsford, MA, before she got stranded again, so they could diagnose the problems of over heated and check engine light and yes the Mobil Station mechanics said, "Well, the radiator cap was not on securely, therefore, it depressurized and over heated, and now the thermostat needs to be replaced, radiation needs to be flushed and fluid replace and we don't know if there is internal damage to the "block engine".
Well, the last person to "touch" radiator was Jiffy Lube, Middlesex Street, Lowell MA ((78 458-1200) on Feb 2, 2011, at a 2:10 pm oil change appointment and to check radiator fluids.

So, Jiffy Lube is telling me, I should have called them first, and brought my stranded car, and try to drive it 15 miles further to their store, so they could see the problem, and possibly, possibly fix. What? Are you kidding me?
He continued to say, I'm the manager and your complaint is just going to come back to me, you can complain all you want, but you're wasting your time! How nice of a way to treat customers. Very nice Jiffy Lube.
He basically, laughed and said, you can chase it all you want, Jiffy Lube is not liable and continued to say, "Too bad, you shouldn't have brought it to someone else first. "
Are you kidding me! She was stranded, and I'm going to try to drive this car 15 miles away, and hope Jiffy Lube covers it! When I practically had to "push it to the closest Gas Station! Ridiculous!

At the last service, they tightened them so tight that I now have to take the car to the dealer to correct the situation. I pulled into the car wash after I deposited my fee. I put my car in PARK and the wash began. After the soap was applied the wash suddenly stopped. I was stunned, to say to least. I was so upset because I could not see through the soap on my window and did not know where the washer bar was. I called 919 and he asked me to open my door and ease out of the car. Before that I tried to pull up slowly and my car wouldn't move forward and made a terrible noise when I tried to ease it back.
When I finally figured it out that I could back out, I did. I left there and went to another car wash. When I was able to look at my car without it being covered with soap, I saw where it was a little scratch on the front hood. I called the Jiffy Lube and spoke with the assistant manager and he was very unconcerned about my episode. My husband and I went to the Jiffy Lube around 12 noon and the Manager wanted to tell me how the car wash operated and how it couldn't have scratched my car. I expressed that I was not sure about draining the transmission because I did not know the history of the car. She assured me that everything would be fine and I would only have to be concerned if it was the oil. After she told me the price of $285, I told her I could not afford it so she told me that she would run a few different things to make it more affordable. They performed the service and now my transmission has gone out.
The District manager said that the lady should not have done the service and to have the car looked at to let them know what kind of damage was caused. I am just back from the subject service - there are three major reasons I am less than satisfied:
1) I did not notice this until back home - I am aghast at the parts charged for the cabin air filter set ($59.99)! That is absolutely ridiculous Jiffy Lube. Google search shows the set sells for $20 - that kind of markup is reprehensible. Had I been made aware of the charge for the cabin air filter set I would have said no thanks.
2) I had said to two service persons to replace windshield wipers. One SP told me they would replace with Rain-X. At check out, I was told that was not done. What's up with that? I can't help but wonder what the markup would have been for the replacement.
3) I was told a left front 'marker light' was out. After signing the work order, I watched from the front of service bay the entire time they worked on the vehicle and I never did see anyone remove lens or access behind the bulb to replace a bulb nor did anyone show me a burnt out bulb. From what I've seen online, this is a common 'questionable' practice of JL's. I can honestly say that I am hesitant to return in 3K miles to Jiffy Lube given the above.

On August 12, 2011, my 2003 Saturn Ion was taken into Jiffy Lube by my sister in-law for an oil change. On her way home, and less than 50 miles after the oil change, the oil cap that screws onto the oil filter housing, somehow flew off and all of my engine oil drained out. The service tech mentioned to the asst. manager that it felt to him that the oil cap was not screwing on tightly, but he was told to take it off and tighten it as much as he could and leave it like that. That issue was never once mentioned to my sister in-law while she was in the store. That was mentioned to me by the asst. manager who came out to my house the following day to look at my car and see what might be the issue. The manager brought a new oil cap to my house and put it on.
Once the new oil cap was placed on, it never flew off like the old one did. Until this day, the old oil cap still blows off and the new cap will not. I have reason to believe that the service tech somehow placed the old cap on incorrectly the first time and when he was told to take it off and retighten by his manager, the cap was already damaged and was just an accident waiting to happen. After the manager came to my house to look at my car, he recommended to me not to drive the vehicle because the engine was making knocking noises and to tow my car into the Jiffy Lube store. After towing my car into Jiffy Lube, they conducted an oil test where they discovered a high content of aluminum in the oil. They then had my car towed to Advance Auto Tech which is an automotive repair shop.
On August 18, 2011, my car was taken to Advance Auto Tech. between the dates of 8/18/2011 and 8/27/2011 my car was approved by the district manager of Jiffy Lube for repairs then for some reason was denied by the district manager for repairs. The district manager after approving the repair, called to Advance Auto Tech to tell them to check if the oil pressure release valve was stuck because this could have caused excess oil pressure to blow the oil cap off. So, Advance Auto Tech conducted an oil pressure test and Steve, the manager there, told me they had a reading of about 60lbs. Steve told me that was low oil pressure and that meant that the oil pressure release valve was stuck. So because of that, Jiffy Lube's district manager cancelled the repair and said that it was caused to internal mechanical failure and that Jiffy Lube was not at fault.
On 9/8/2011, I picked up my car from Advance Auto Tech and had it towed to Old Town Automotive. Old Town Automotive conducted their diagnostic and oil pressure test and determined that the oil pressure release valve was not stuck and was operating normally. The tech at Old Town Automotive, told me that their oil pressure readings were 67lbs at idle and 80lbs at 1000rpm's. Alex said that this is normal operating pressure for this car and engine. So with that being said, Advance Auto Tech gave myself and the district manager an incorrect diagnostic when he said the oil pressure was low. The district manager still does not want to repair my car because he wants to believe that the oil pressure release valve got stuck, gained excess oil pressure in the oil pump, and then blew my oil filter cap off, then came unstuck. The district manager who does not want to take blame for what his service shop did during the oil change. I have been waiting well over 1 month and this is causing me a lot of heart aches not having my vehicle.
I believe that Advance Auto Tech would have never "discovered" or said that the oil pressure release valve was stuck if the management from Jiffy Lube would not have contacted them to check it. The fact is that the oil pressure release valve was never stuck, Advance Auto Tech gave an incorrect diagnostic by saying the 60lbs of pressure was too low, and shortly after jiffy lube conducting my oil change the oil filter cap blew/flew off do to the acts of the service technician and the Jiffy Lube shop. And by the way, if my oil pressure was low for some odd reason, this wouldn't cause my oil filter cap to blow off. High oil pressure would have to be the issue and clearly it wasn't. The district manager was trying to say that my oil pressure relief valve was stuck in the closed position which caused excess oil pressure. While the so called experts at Advance Auto Tech said my oil pressure was low, this would mean that my oil pressure relief valve would have to be stuck (if it was stuck) in the open position. Advance Auto Tech was the shop of Jiffy Lube's choice, not mine. This shop was completely bias and tried taking Jiffy Lube's side for every possibility I mentioned to them.

I took the car back and they realized that it had no fluid. I was told that they must have forgotten to fill it after flushing it. Then the car overheated again two weeks later.
When the tech popped the hood, I looked in and realized that there was something different. There was a component missing next to the overflow reservoir. There was also a hose that had been knocked loose and then carelessly reconnected.
When the tech tried to remove the cap, he was unable because it was cross threaded. When I complained, they accused me of doing it and told me that I should leave it to a pro and not touch it. They then told me that the car had problems when my wife took it to them and told me they advised her to see a mechanic at that time.
This was not true as the car was fine and never had a problem until these monkeys got their dirty grubby paws on it. These people are not mechanics. Since it was the Thanksgiving Holiday week, we did not get a chance to take the car back until 11/28/2010. At that time the Jiffy lube tech told us we need new headlights. They where replaced. Jiffy lube asked us where the oil change was done and we said in this shop. But Jiffy Lube could not locate the repair history on the car. When the receipt was produced for the oil change, they found the record.
Jiffy Lube sent us on our way. Over the next two day we noticed the car sluggish and the interior warning lights where coming on. My husband works for an Oil Delivery Firm so the mechanics there looked at the engine. His company mechanics told us the alternator and battery where filled with oil and it looks like an oil leak. They did not have the proper tools to fix our 2006 Hunyadi Sonata. I called Jiffy Lube and asked if they fixed oil leaks and Adam at Jiffy Lube told me they where not equipped for that repair. We took the car to the dealership. The dealership found the oil plug was not replaced properly and the oil overflowed and then drained into the alternator and Battery pan. They cleaned the battery and alternator, noted on my receipt the problem was due to the faulty install of the plug and sent us on our way stating they would not guarantee this took care of the problem. I drove the car home and all the interior warning lights came on. Called the dealership and brought the car in the next day. We decided to try a new battery. This worked for one day, then had the car towed back to the dealership fore the new alternator.
Right now, I have spent $908.00 repairing the Jiffy Lube damage.

About 50 yards down road, he heard a noise but thought it was debris in road. As he drove further, 1.43 miles, the check engine light came on so he turned car around at a dealership. He looked under hood, said car was hot. A mechanic came out and looked under car and said there was no oil filter or oil in car. He called Jiffy lube. They came down, put oil filter on and 5 quarts of oil in which still didn't read on dipstick. He then told my husband that he would follow him back to jiffy lube so they could top it off and told my husband he would be on his way. Jiffy lube was about 100 yards away.
As my husband started the car and started heading down road, he heard a loud bang, and the car was very loud. The oil filter was found about 50 yards from jiffy lube but there wasnt any traces of an oil leak anywhere. Needless to say, they blew my engine the day before my vacation. They were cooperative at first, paid for a rental car in which we still have. They first said it was faulty oil filter but then with there not being oil anywhere. They told me to go on vacation and they would take care of it. After speaking with my dealership that sold me car, done all my services and oil changes, they told me my warranty was void if they put in used engine. My car is a 2007 Toyota camry

I took my VolvoS60 to Jiffi Lube (service center # 2592) on March 30, 2011, for regular oil change. The mechanic did not mention any oil leak or damage to the bolt to the oil pan. Since then, I noticed some oil leak on the garage floor. Finally, I took my car back to Ravenna Volvo dealer yesterday (July 25/2011), and the finding was stunning.
This is the full note which I will be happy to send to you all:
"Technician found the engine oil drain plug was oversized; was leaking and had no drain plug gasket. The technician found a Jiffy Lube sticker on the windshield for the last place to change the oil on this engine. The technician removed the drain plug, and found the treads were torn and bad. The technician recommends a new engine oil pan to repair it 100 percent. It costs $ 704.00 for parts and labor ( before tax) to replace the engine oil pan ( includes pan part #30777698, gasket, etc.) Customer was advised, and declined oil pan replacement at this time . Technician was able to put another (longer) oil drain plug in for now. It seems to be holding fine at this time and not currently leaking. The technician is not able to guarantee that it will not hold all the way, and that it will not leak. The technician still recommends a new oil pan to repair. The customer declined, and will take the car back to Jiffy Lube."
According to the findings and the damages to my Volvo, I strongly put all the responsibility to the Jiffy Lube Company, especially the manager and employees at that store, and I request that Jiffy Lube to pay the full amount for the repair per professional advice of Ravenna Volvo-- as soon as possible to prevent further damage .
I will forward this letter to Consumer Report Agency to let them take into the matter.

On Tuesday, May 31, I took my vehicle to the Jiffy Lube location in Lawrenceville, NJ to have the oil changed. After the oil change, the mechanic informed me that he could not attach the engine under shield because the bolts were damaged. He claimed that the last person to change the oil, damaged the bolts and would not accept any responsibility for causing the damage.
in addition, the Acura mechanic told me that the engine under shield does not have to be removed to change the oil. I assume Jiffy Lube removed the engine shield in an effort to find a partially worn part that could be replaced. I wrote Jiffy Lube telling them that the damage was their responsibility and asking for reimbursement. The store manager called me but again would not take responsibility for the damage.

I had to drive from Denver to Utah because my terminally ill mother had just been hospitalized and is unable to communicate with medical personel due to her illness. I stopped to get an oil change on my way out of town to assure my vehicle was in good condition for the eight-hour trip. I got the "Signature Service" full synthetic oil change at Jiffy Lube at #2488 in Evergreen, CO.
After finishing up, the Jiffy Lube employee made sure to show me the oil level with the dipstick, which was at the proper level. I then headed straight back onto the interstate and proceeded toward Utah, only stopping twice for gas. I have receipts from the beginning of the day where I purchased a coffee at Starbucks an hour before going to Jiffy Lube, their own receipt, the receipts for my gas stops, and the receipt from the tow truck driver who ultimately ended up towing my car after the engine failed due to a catastrophic loss of oil at highway speed. I literally have the entire day documented from beginning to end.
About 200 miles after Jiffy Lube's oil change and in a very remote area in Utah, my car emitted a sudden loud bang from the engine compartment and immediately began trailing an incredibly large amount of blue smoke. After immediately pulling to the shoulder and shutting off the car, an oil slick was observed behind the car that I would estimate at to be a few hundred yards in length. All remaining oil drained out the bottom of the motor within a minute or less as my girlfriend and I watched.
After having the car towed to my mother's house and assuring she was stable at the hospital, I slid under my car with my digital camera and discovered the oil drain plug was completely missing. The threads, however, were in perfect condition. I captured several high-quality images of the missing plug, the condition of the threads, and the underbody that was coated in oil. All of the images were timestamped and geo-tagged, as that is a feature of my smartphone.
The only possible explanation is that Jiffy Lube (actually owned and operated by a franchise owner based in Utah -- Griffin Fast Lube) simply finger-tightened the oil drain plug but neglected to torque it down properly. It slowly vibrated loose throughout my trip, until it ultimately fell out, rapidly draining all of the oil at highway speed (~75mph). This caused the engine to be destroyed. It is common knowledge that when oil is lost, that is the result and it takes only seconds to occur. This is especially true for a vehicle such as mine, which is a high-performance sports car equipped with a turbocharger.
I have a very solid case. The car has been well cared for, and I have all service documentation to prove so. I also have:1) A receipt from Jiffy Lube showing that all items on their checklist were in good working condition, along with an odometer reading at the time they
performed the service.
2) Receipts for each time I stopped for gas. These are the only stops I made, and the timestamps on the receipts reflect that.
3) The odometer reading and time on the receipt from the tow truck driver, showing that we drove straight from Jiffy Lube to where the engine failed, onlystopping for gas twice.
4) A tow truck driver who expressed a completely unsolicited interest in signing/testifying/vouching for the oil trail, puddle under the vehicle, and the overallconditions he encountered when he arrived to tow us.
5) An immaculate digital camera picture showing clearly that the oil plug is missing and the threads are perfect. The photo contains an embedded timestamp and geo-coded location coordinates. I also emailed the photo to several family members, co-workers, and even my landlord, which also proves the date and time the photo was taken.
6) A photo (also timestamped and geo-coded) showing the odometer reading on the car, as it was dropped off by the tow truck in my mother's driveway.
7) An actual GPS log of my trip, starting from my apartment in downtown Denver to my ultimate destination.
I feel that I have a very strong case backed by a very large amount of evidence. Besides the obvious cost of the blown motor, I have also incurred significant loss of wages and continue to (I am an independent contractor and currently have no vehicle), very expensive tow charges (due to the remote area), significant expense getting back to Denver from such a remote city (no airport), and many other hardships, both financial and emotional. Further, I have a large collection of receipts, official paperwork, and other evidence (both physical and electronic) to back up every dollar that I have lost due to this incident.
After resolving my family emergency, returning back to Denver, and exploring my options for the situation, I had the car towed to a Subaru dealership of my choice. I was very careful about the chain of custody of the vehicle. I have also maintained extremely detailed notes of all my correspondence with Griffin Fast Lube d/b/a Jiffy Lube, including digitally recording all telephone correspondence.
The service manager at the Subaru dealership was made aware of the sensitive nature of the situation and has been wonderful in accommodating all of my requests. Upon receiving the vehicle, they placed it on a lift and took several digital photos as well. These were provided to both my self and the management at Griffin Fast Lube d/b/a Jiffy Lube.
Upon initial inspection of the vehicle, metal shards were discovered in the oil filter, some of which was indisputably identified as bearing material. The Subaru dealership's repair shop verified that was indicative of severe engine damage due to a catastrophic loss of oil at highway speed, which was caused by Jiffy Lube's neglect to tighten the oil drain plug.
Subaru's recommendation was for a full engine tear-down to attempt to determine the extent of the damages. This report and recommendation, along with their digital photos were furnished to Griffin Fast Lube's management. Griffin Fast Lube subsequently sent two representatives down to inspect the car. The Subaru service manager assured me they were not allowed to put a finger on the vehicle, and he personally accommodated their requests (simple ones, such as opening the hood, etc.) to take pictures and hear the car idle. Their representatives were also shown the metallic fragments that were in the oil filter.
The next day, I received an email from Jeff **, the Regional Manager for Griffin Fast Lube d/b/a Jiffy Lube in Colorado "congratulating" me on my car, which he said had no damage. He stated that his representatives who spoke with the Subaru mechanics were told that the car was in "great operating condition" and sustained "no damage." Admitting fault for the missing oil drain plug, he cheerfully offered to compensate me for the tow, the diagnostics done by the Subaru dealership (which the service manager referred to as "just scratching the surface"), and to pay for me to return to Utah to pick up my car.
Stunned and absolutely beside my self after reading Jeff's email, I contacted the Subaru service manager and informed him of Jeff's claim that the vehicle had no damage and that he was told that by the Subaru dealership. Indeed, the service manager confirmed that no such statements were made--quite the contrary. Jeff, his representatives, as well as the senior management at Griffin Fast Lube received the same report as I did, telling of metal chunks and bearing material in the oil filter and recommending nothing short of a complete engine teardown.
They are attempting to deny compensation for anything other than the tow expenses and the diagnostics performed by Subaru which only confirmed that there was serious engine damage, which is absolutely unacceptable.

I purchased a brand new 2010 Honda Fit in October. On 2/23/11, I took it to Jiffy Lube of West Seattle for its first service: A simple oil change. On my way home from work on 3/24/11, the oil light came on in my car while I was on I5N. My car started jerking, pulling and grinding as I made my way safely to the shoulder. I called my sister, who arranged roadside assistance for me and my car to be delivered back to Honda of Seattle where the car was purchased. Honda verified that the drain plug was missing and their entire undercarriage was covered in oil and there was none in my engine.
My engine is damaged beyond repair. Jiffy Lube has not assumed responsibility of the rental car. I've missed 12 hours of work due to dealing with this and while Jiffy Lube assured me they would return my car to the same or better standard, the offer they are making me is unacceptable. Honda, my insurance company and everyone else I've contacted has advised that anything less than a Honda certified engine installed by Honda is unacceptable. Jiffy Lube has located an engine (2010 Honda Fit) with 4000 miles and have offered to have it installed by "their" people. They have told me that the dealership is too expensive and they will not pay for it.
However, if the engine is not certified and installed by Honda, my warranty with them on the engine is negated. Jiffy Lube has offered to warranty the questionable engine but here is my concern: A Jiffy Lube warranty is not nearly the same caliber as a Honda warranty. I know that if something goes wrong with my car, I can go to any Honda and it will be fixed. I do not have the same faith in Jiffy Lube at this point due to the quality of work I've witnessed so far and the way I have been treated as a customer in this situation. I've been told I can take this offer or leave it, but this is all they are willing to do for me after destroying my brand new car.

In a jam back in September, I stopped by a local Jiffy Lube to have my oil changed because it was overdue. I had a day off and my mechanic was busy so I opted to go there.
Everything seemed alright until I had my vehicle in to have my mechanic look at a noise the car was making. I figured he already had the car and asked him to do an oil change as well. He called me and asked, "Where did you get the oil changed last?" Sheepishly, I answered, “Jiffy Lube.” He then proceeded to tell me how they had stripped the screw in the oil pan, and then apparently to cover it up and get on with their day, somehow glued it in. He tried for hours to get the screw out only to find out once it was out that it is leaking oil pretty severely. The job to rectify Jiffy Lube’s mistake would entail replacing the oil pan to the tune of $600!
In hopes of at least getting some satisfaction for the problem, I called the branch and asked for the manager. Of course, he isn't in. I (stupidly) explain the problem to whoever answered the phone, who then handed it off to the assistant manager to whom I had to explain again. He then told me he will have the manager call me when he gets in. After waiting for 4 hours, I called back. My explanation of the problem got met with a laugh in my face, and I guess if you take you car there religiously, they’d give you a better service because the fact that that was the only time I was there seemed to be a sticking point. The manager then told me there is no way that happened, and I told him I was going to have my mechanic call him to explain what he encountered and he said, "You do that."
I guess customer service has truly gone by the way side. I am going to make it my mission to divert as many people away from there as possible. I intend to continue to fight this, but I can definitely say, “It’s a very expensive lesson learned!”

In December of 2011, I brought in a 2001 Ford truck that had been serviced there before for an oil change. First I was told that the serpentine belt needed to be replaced, which I agreed to and paid for. As I was reading the final receipt, I noted to the repairman that this "excessive transmission fluid loss" was not a problem when I came in with the vehicle. This truck had just taken a road trip from Maryland, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas and then came back to Alexandria. There was a need for oil change as I will be taking the truck on another road trip to Tennessee. The truck was then returned to Jiffy Lube and they put more fluid into it and sent me on my way. I brought the truck to an independent mechanic who was too busy to fix the problem but did say that when oil change franchises top off the fluids, they use a common spout. He further explained that when you jam the spout too hard into the transmission tube, it breaks. This was what happened to the truck. The transmission fluid needed to be put into the truck literally every other mile because it just leaked out onto the ground.
I called the Jiffy Lube that services all the vehicles I drive and requested a printout to support my complaint, that I have used this establishment on a very regular basis for approximately 5-6 years already. The problem was fixed because the truck needed to get back on the road. The problem was diagnosed and repaired by Alexandria Transmission on Hwy 165 South. There have been no further problems with the transmission or any transmission fluid leaking. This incident has caused me a lot. I had to pay the cost of the oil change that damaged the transmission tube, the cans and cans of transmission fluid for the next few days until the truck could be serviced, the cost of repairing the truck so that it could once again be road worthy, and the cost of transportation by means other than by the truck which was supposed to perform this function but could not. Travel plans also had to be changed and rescheduled only after the truck came back from getting the oil changed.

Got a routine oil change on 11/14/2010. Everything seemed okay. A few days after the change, we noticed the headlights on the car where dimming and it seemed sluggish. Since it was the Thanksgiving holiday week, we did not get a chance to take the car back until 11/28/2010. At that time, the Jiffy lube tech told us we need new headlights. They where replaced. Jiffy lube asked us where the oil change was done and we said in this shop. But by Jiffy Lube could not locate the repair history on the car. When the receipt was produced for the oil change, they "found" the record.
Sent us on our way. Over the next two days, we noticed the car sluggish and the interior warning lights where coming on. My husband works for an oil delivery firm so the mechanics there looked at the engine. His company mechanics told us the alternator and battery where filled with oil and it looks like an oil leak. They did not have the proper tools to find our 2006 Hyundai Sonata. I called Jiffy Lube and asked if they fixed oil leaks and they said they where not equipped for that repair. We took the car to the dealership. The dealership found the oil plug was not replaced properly and the oil drained into the alternator and battery pan. They cleaned the battery and alternator, noted on my receipt the problem was due to the faulty install of the plug and sent us on our way stating they would not guarantee this took care of the problem.
I drove the car home and all the lights came on. Called the dealership and brought the car in the next day. We decided to try a new battery. This worked for one day, then had the car towed back to the dealership for the new alternator. Right now, I have spent $908 repairing the Jiffy Lube damage. I put in claim # 587838 with Jiffy lube. The assistant manager of the Jiffy Lube called me back and stated since I did not have the repair done at his shop. They will not refund me the price of the oil change nor pay the damages. I stated I called and was told Jiffy lube did not repair oil leaks and to take it elsewhere. He said since the problem was the plug and not a leak, he would have been able to repair it.

It popped free and started dragging the road while I was driving down the expressway. A few days after that, I smelled burnt oil and my oil light started blinking. I took it back to the store where the manager, after a brief inspection, insisted the bottom of my car was clean enough to eat off and that I had no leaks. I finally decided to go back to the center where I had my car serviced, they told me the leak was coming from the drain plug and that they would tighten the bolt and top off the engine.
After I waited for about an eternity, I was called outside and they showed me the drain bolt, the bolt had been snapped off the first time they worked on the car. The so called technician did not advice anyone of the mistake he had made, instead, he tried to put the bolt back in and ended up ruining the threads on the oil pan. One of the so called techs tried to blame the error on me, I could not believe that I was being yelled at by a stupid guy in a jumpsuit. Since, it was after 5 when I took my car in. No mechanic could fix it. I had to leave my car and walk my ** home since, I use my car like a normal person to go to work. I had to figure out a way to get to work and a way to get back to my car after they fixed it. I have never been so angry and dissatisfied with the service I received.
