I have written a report about them a few weeks ago on how careless their mechanics are. I took my husband's truck on Oct 14th so they can fix the brakes from squeaking. Picked it up the same day and it was fixed. Found out on the 16th that his E brake quit working, so we brought it back for that. That Saturday Oct 17th, my husband took it to work and said it smelt like burning rubber. We took it back again two more times after that. And then on November 1st at 4:30 pm the brakes quit on me while I was getting on the interstate with my two small children. They are crappy workers and should not get away with this. Thankfully me and my kids didn't get seriously hurt but my leg is hurting from the incident. We took it to a different shop and they told us the brake line was broken off and the bolt to connect wasn't attached right and that we need new brake pads because of the oil pouring all over them.

Took the car 8:30 am for oil change, fluid replenishment, tire rotation, inspection of brakes and wheel alignment (I have paid for a for life one). Someone drove me to drop the car in. Five hours expected service time. Right after lunch they said (they apparently wrote 3:00PM, on the sheet without telling me). At 3:00 a friend drives me to pick up the car. They haven't done anything!!! Reason: "The wheel alignment machine broke". I wonder since when they change oil and replenish fluids in the wheel alignment machine? Also apparently The Firestone at Glades Rd rotates tires and inspects brakes after they align the wheels. Wow that is strange and backwards!
In other words 5 unrelated operations get delayed because 1 machine breaks. The worst! "Why don't you go somewhere, we'll call you back as soon as we are done in about 90!" Yeah, right. I have all the time in the world. Problem is I am in the good client list! Those that don't complain! So delay him. Respond to the punks or the friends. The good guys will take it! Sorry lost two clients! And will make it a point to tell everyone I know, about my dissatisfying experience. By the way the friend that drove me there to pick up said: "Are you crazy? You still bring the cars here? I bet you is not ready!" He won! Going to the competitor and so should you! When companies get big they figure they got leverage on customers and mistreat them, when they fail.. they wonder who took their clients? Nobody! You drove them away!

I knew my car needed an alignment. I purchased the lifetime alignment package from Firestone. When I came to pick up the vehicle, they told me it needed new parts before it could be aligned 100%. I took it to a local mechanic for a quote on the parts. The local mechanic said no new parts were needed, and that they could align the wheels as is. After reading other Consumer Affairs reviews, I'm beginning to suspect Firestone scams their customers into alignment packages in order to sell them other services, whether they are needed or not.

My car started to smoke under the hood as I was driving. I was one red light from a mechanic shop, unfortunately, Firestone. I dropped the car off and the mechanic said that he would see why there was smoke from under the hood. Well the radiator hose had busted. Therefore, due to the hose separation, I was charged an extra $79 as a diagnostic test. I inquired about the this charge because it is unethical and ripoff.
Arrogant manager, Jaime **, stated he charged because he has it written down as a diagnostic test. However, the results are hand written with a pen busted hose. This person is the worst because of his zero customer service skills. He does not listen nor does he care. This place is a flat rip off. Where is the class action lawsuit for this place? It is pathetic the way they cheat people. There is no way I should have been charged for an obvious busted hose as a diagnostic test. I would stay away from this place!

On Thursday, 10/15/15, I experienced a blowout on the interstate. My insurance company recommended the car be towed to a nearby Firestone (#7447) in Dallas. I requested oil change since I had, what was described as a potential "hour wait" anyways (which turned into ~3 hours). Every time I've visited a Firestone in the past, I was offered some additional service after inspection. Well not this day. After paying for services and leaving, I noticed a continued "ticking noise" as if I was still in need of an oil change. I called the store and asked the manager, Randy, if there were issues with my vehicle?... His response, "No it's fine... Are you asking because of the ticking noise?" I said, "Exactly." Randy: "Your was a little low when it came in but there's no leak or anything so it's fine." Well, from there I drove home to prepare for work send then to work... Ticking noise continued.
I got off of work at 10 pm and got onto the interstate where the noise grew to what I'd describe as a lawn mower and a go cart. After trying to drive to a safe area on the service road, my engine completely shuts down. We pushed my car to a garage, only to notice a puddle of oil and a trail following the car. I'm like "What in the hell?!" I contacted Firestone the following morning and spoke with Randy. His immediate response: "Oook... Well your car was low on oil when you brought it in and we typically don't perform an oil change when that's the case but I guess I should've told you that before now." I asked that they look to see what went wrong because clearly something had happened. They sent a tow truck (which apparently they thought I was going to pay) and randomly find a crack in my "upper oil pan".
Randy's conclusion: Oh something flew up and hit it during my commute to work. Are you kidding me right now?! I contacted Consumer Affairs, asked that the area manager, Steve **, be contacted after Randy lied to me about his name being Carl. They claimed to send someone out from claims to take apart the engine to find out the origin of issue per my request. It's basically Wed., 10/21/15 (actually 10/20 but 10pm CST) and I've yet to have 1 person reach out to me. I'm in a rental. And I am VERY displeased. As of tomorrow, this entire situation will be turned over to my lawyer. I've held regard for Firestone until now.

I had gone to Firestone two years ago for a revving engine and was told I needed a new clutch. I went to two other garages and found out it was a faulty intake valve and not the clutch. A week ago, on October 7th, my clutch pedal couldn't be depressed and I couldn't drive my car. I had to get a tow at 4:30 in the morning to Firestone. The manager informed me that I needed a new clutch after two years. They never asked my permission to put the new clutch in until they had already started putting the new one in. When I asked them how I could need a new clutch after two years and told me that I had driven it hard in the two years since the first one had been put in. Plus it has gone up on price in the last two years. How come no one has investigated Firestone on their practice of cheating people?

I needed a tire looked at that had a slow leak, and had one that had a bump in it. I took my 1995 Monte Carlo to the Firestone on Government St. in Mobile Alabama. The tire was kind of expensive but the clerk up front said they would pull ALL tires off and inspect them for free. They finished, I paid and left. When I got home I realized the mag wheel cap was put back on slightly cockeyed. So I took it off and put it on right. Later that night coming home I heard something hit the car after running over some of the bumpy roads. When I got home I looked and was missing one of the mag wheel caps. I looked on the passenger side and one of those two were put on wrong. I fixed it. So I go up and told them, being very polite. I even told them Walmart had made the same mistake and had to replace one. They were NOT happy but agreed to buy the missing cap.
A week later I called to see if it came in. The guy said "Oh, you're the guy that said we put on your cap wrong when we didn't even take your tire off?" I was pissed. So I go down there. Had to stand there looking like I'm a common thief because I wanted a new cap. The whole time pleading my case. So the cap stayed on for 5 years and just decided to fall off after your idiot worked on my tires. The guy doing the paperwork (slowly) said "I saw your car on the lift, and it had all the cap". I was like OMFG!! I guess they think I collect Monte Carlo mag wheel caps for some strange reason. I'm pretty sure their insurance paid the 43.99 for the cap. But to argue with me and insult me when I KNOW they were too stupid to put the caps on right... Oh... And the bump is STILL in one tire.

My young airman daughter just took her 2006 VW Beetle 2.5 in for an oil change and was charged $102.49. I called another Firestone in the same area and they quoted me the same price. Their response is because it takes 6 quarts of "SPECIAL" VW oil. I then called 2 different VW dealerships in the same area and was quoted 79.00, 6 quarts, full synthetic, everything included except tax. This location was on Nellis AFB. I'm still shaking my head.

I went to a Firestone shop on Kenilworth Ave in MD and received very unprofessional customer service from 1 MANAGER. Everyone else in the store was okay... Needless to say it got so bad that I just walked out and decided to deal with upper management. WELL, let me tell you what the upper management did for me. They treated us so kind, gave us a rental while other repairs were being done and they even covered the bill for the repairs. They COMPLETELY shocked us and we are definitely staying as customers (just going to another service shop) and the gentleman who handled our case was genuine and kind and offered a sincere apology...
So this is a lesson to everyone... You don't have to scream to get your point across and you don't have to put up with RUDE and mean customer service. The pen is truly mightier than the sword... That one bad experience was completely overcome by the Sr. Service rep's kindness. Thanks!!!!

I took my car in for replacement of a front end suspension part & when quoted a very high cost compared to other local auto repair shops I was told by Johnny, service advisor/tech, that "...we only use OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) parts that cost more than 'aftermarket' parts you can buy at places like O'Reilly's. It's about quality here." I approved the job & took the car home. A friend who looked under the car to see what I'd had done saw that it was not the same control arm as the other side & said I'd better check with the dealer. I took the car into a dealer & was told although the part fits it is not the correct part for this car. It should be replaced with the correct part without delay.
Upon calling Firestone back explaining the dealer's opinion to Tommy, another service tech, he took an attitude & said "...how would the service people at the dealership know that?" I asked for the manager & was told he was at lunch at 10 a.m. but would call me back as I requested. Receiving no return call from Mr. **, Service Manager, I called their corporate offices & filed a formal complaint & was told the area manager would call me within 24 hrs. No callback. The store service manager was finally reached by phone & he stated I misunderstood Johnny & that parts are "to OEM specs, not OEM." I had not misunderstood & told him that & he said if I pursued the issue "...it sounds to me like a she said, he said situation. I'll meet you half-way & give you $100 cash & we'll call it even."
I again called their corporate offices & was told since no one called me back it would be sent up to corporate for resolution. There was never a response from their offices at any level. I called Brian, I believe, the service manager again, & his rudeness clearly indicated he'd been contacted by his home office & he asked what I wanted. I told him again (4th time) I want the correct (cast aluminum) part on the car rather than the aftermarket stamped sheet metal part. He agreed but said "...this is all I'm doing. Nothing more unless you pay for it."
I made an appointment & took the car in & a cast aluminum control arm was installed. Driving home I have a loud clunking sound coming from the front end. In braking the car pulls to the right now. It did not before. I consider their "team tactics" as fraudulent & did file a complaint with the Bureau of Automobile Repair in California. Would NEVER return to Firestone for anything, nor even use their tires.

I dropped off my truck for service due to my service engine light was on, it turned out to be a fuse that was already replaced so it was under warranty. They did find that I need a new catalytic converter. So I asked how much. I said "total everything please parts, labor, tax everything." He told me $855.98 to the penny, I wrote it down... So they call me 7 hours later to come pick it up and the guy tells me $955.98. I gave him a coupon for free code check, he said "that is with the coupon." I said "that is not what I was told or agreed to." He said "well this is all the parts, the tax, the labor..." So I paid - I told him about being told a different price, so he took a company card and wrote his name on it for a free oil change. I am so upset - this is a big error $100.00 dollars - this is crazy.
When they had the other manager there Dave I never had these problems, I have been going to this Firestone since they opened. This will change. For a extra $100.00 dollars I could of called around for better prices. I could of waited, I just needed the fuses done asap! And by him writing his name on the back of a card for a free oil change is like saying he was wrong. Well someone was! They knew I was upset. No one cared. I called back for Corporate's # and they would not give it to me. This is not how I like to be treated or should I say taken advantage of. SAD! The service was ok until now and for me it only takes one time and this much money. I don't trust them anymore. I just asked for a quote on tires, but I will be going somewhere else. Thank you and I'm sorry there are dishonest people like this and nothing that gets done, but yet people like me still pay... I will be having my family go elsewhere.

I have been going to Firestone for over 10 years. I have lived in 3 different states and in every state I always find a Firestone for any work I need done on my car. They always do a great job and the people are always friendly, but the Firestone I been going to in Missouri just changed my outlook on Firestone. I took my car there for an oil change and to get my tires rotated. The guy said "it would be about an hour, hour and a half at the most." They had my car for almost 2 hours. Every time I called to check on it the guy would say he's wrapping it up - it will be done in about 15 minutes. So I just went up to the shop to see what was taking so long. My car was still up in the air and he didn't know how much longer it would be now. If I was getting major work done I could except a 2 hour wait but 2 hours for an oil change and to get my tires rotated is ridiculous and there was no other cars there. They pulled my car right in. I will not be returning.

They said they can't find nothing wrong with it come back when the light back on. Remind you this the third time. So three days later came on. Took it up there. They said, "It's a new problem with it. It's overheating." It never overheated on me and the 1st and the 6th Cylinder is mess up. They said, "We can fix it. It will be 1500$$." Wtf I don't have money like that so I took it to Autozone. They said it just misfiring and the only code that come up like really I don't think no one at that place know what they doing. On Monday, July 20, 2015, the engine on my 2009 Chevrolet Traverse suffered a catastrophic engine failure while on a family trip to Florida. The car was traveling at posted highway speeds on Florida's Turnpike, when suddenly, without any warning, the car shuddered for about 5-10 seconds; then, the check engine light flashed; and about 2 seconds later, we heard a loud BOOM and felt the explosion as well. I could see some small debris flying behind my car, as well as a cloud of gray smoke.
We used our momentum to move to the right and then to the right-hand emergency pull-off lane on the Turnpike, on a portion that did not have a shoulder. Once I determined that I could safely exit the vehicle, I assessed that the issue was not related to a tire rupture, but saw a small pond of clear motor oil about 1 - 2 cups, ultimately form next to the car. We also took a moment to express our blessed fortune that the incident did not end with a much greater cost.
I had the car towed to a Chevrolet dealership with which I had a previous relationship. Upon inspection, they discovered that the crankcase had been filled with approximately 12 quarts of motor oil which was far in excess of the 5.5 quarts that are recommended for the crankcase of my make, year, and model vehicle. They also observed a hole that was made when one of the engine components penetrated and exited the sidewall of the engine during the catastrophic failure.
My last oil change -- performed by the Firestone Complete Auto Service location at 512 Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro, NC -- occurred about 18 days prior to the issue. I had not accessed the hood or crankcase after the oil change, because I entrust that the professionals have properly done their job. I managed to drive 1,600 miles prior to the catastrophic failure -- almost entirely consisting of short-haul, around town hops -- prior to the lengthy, 800-mile sojourn from Greensboro, North Carolina to Southeast Florida. It is worth noting that the longer trip was split into chunks of no longer than 2.5 to 3 hours between stops -- though the last leg, driven in 98-degree temps, lasted about four hours prior to the engine failure.
As part of its analysis, the Chevrolet mechanics noted that with a car of my age, it is surprising -- but not unexpected -- that the catastrophic failure would take time to build the pressure situation, as it built, would take the path of least resistance to manifest itself. Upon inspection, the Chevrolet maintenance team noted several gasket leaks where oil had emerged as the pressure built -- notable, as no previous oil leaks have ever been observed from this car. Finally, with no other relief from the building pressure, the catastrophic eruption led to the ejection of a rod through the engine sidewall and an immediate and complete shutdown of the engine block.
On July 24, Firestone opened a claim -- Case No. ** -- and assigned a Chicago-based resource, ** -- to handle the case. He promptly went on vacation, so we worked our way up the food chain placed our inspection request in front of **, who apparently is **'s supervisor. After two weeks of inaction, Firestone's insurer finally sent a third-party inspector to observe the vehicle on Monday, August 3, and to examine the evidence (both physical and testimonial). The insurer ultimately decided to reject the claim -- not on the basis that they didn't believe that the oil was overfilled, but that there was NO WAY that the car could possibly have traveled 1,600 miles without experiencing the failure.
This was a car that we purchased new; that was meticulously maintained (records kept); and had been paid off last fall. You know, as well as I do, that once a car is paid off, it is your hope that the car starts paying YOU back. We expected to get at least two years more out of this vehicle and had no reason to feel otherwise. Within the last 120 days, we also spent thousands of dollars on new tires, new spark plugs and other replacements to keep the car running at its best. We feel like Firestone took something from us, through an apparently dumb mistake, but now does not want to take responsibility for a situation that they caused. And to date, they still have not called me once to apologize or even sent the promised "Denial of Claim." Steer clear, folks -- this place is now a daily reminder of one of my worst auto repair nightmares. We all think it won't happen to us. But sadly, it will.

It never did. Instead of ** checking the air, he told me to drive it down the street and if it still hadn't gone off, he would put it on the rack and do a diagnosis which would cost me money.
As I was just visiting San Diego, and had to come back to Vegas I was in a rush and drove down the street like ** said. I have used Firestone for many many years and even used this Firestone at least 3 or 4 times. I went in to them stating I was hearing a grinding noise and thought it might be my power steering and that I had heard the noise before but it went away and this week it did not. I also let them know I had some trouble turning a few times. I went in one afternoon and they informed me they had to hear the noise to determine what it was. So I made an appointment at 10 am Saturday, Aug 29, 2015 and when I got there I told them I now think it was a belt not the power steering!!!
So after an hour of waiting I went to check on car and they said "not good, come look." They had it up on a rack and had some fluid dripping so much and so loud. I asked what it was and they informed me it was my rack and pinion it was leaking very badly and was very dangerous. I should fix it immediately and it was going to be $1540. I could hear the drip and see all the fluid and all the mess under the car and asked them how was this possible, I should have heard it or seen it on my garage floor. Their reply was "I don't know!" So I said, "I cannot do it today. I will have to make an appointment for Monday," so they set one up and brought my SUV around for me to drive away for two plus days.
I decided to call a friend at Raymond's Garage and went right over there. Thank GOD as Firestone had obviously loosen a cap or screw so all the power steering fluid would leak out and when at Raymond's garage they found it to only be the hose less than $200 and the power steering reservoir was completely empty which was very dangerous for me and my sister who would have been driving it for 2 plus days!!! Oh and the recommended services invoice was now $1808 not $1540!

Didn't do it right then, went to dealership that weekend for a free 21 pt. Check and told rotors needed resurfacing as brake pads were not making good contact due to warp, for $216.75.

Took my car home and the lugging down and popping continued, so I took it back and they sent me to California Transmission to see if it was the transmission. Not the transmission, and the owner told me to go back to Firestone and tell them to look again. He thought it was the motor mounts and transmission mounts. Took it to Firestone and guess what, they thought it was the motor mounts! Wanted another $540 to replace them. Hell no, I wasn't paying them another dime. After the job was completed, I tried to locate the technician to give him a tip, but he could not be found by other employees for quite some time. I decided to wait, since I figured with a holiday weekend, anyone could use a few extra dollars. Unfortunately, after giving it to him, he had a very strange look! I then stopped at a local Target store and while still in the parking lot, I noticed my phone only had 7% battery life! I opened the center console to retrieve my charger case and I was very upset to find my $100 mophie iPhone case was missing!!! I have a lifetime alignment contract with Firestone for my Subaru. Brought it in yesterday for a rotate, balance, and alignment, as well as an oil change. I marked the front tires just to make sure they did the rotation. They called me at work to tell me I need four new tires. I said no and to please proceed with the work requested. End of conversation. When I picked the car up at 5:00 pm, I checked the tires and noticed that they had NOT rotated the tires. When questioned, I was told they don't rotate when all the tires have the same wear. It doesn't say that on my work order comments. It says they rotated the tires. Also, I asked for the alignment report and it was not available. They redid the alignment and it was out of alignment. Now this is a car that supposedly was aligned a few hours earlier. Do not trust them. I wonder if they changed the oil.

You have just lost all my business at Deer Park, Center Street, Texas, because of your woman who works there and was working there this afternoon (and apparently in charge) at about 6:30 p.m., June 22, 2015. It's really a shame because over the years, I have had some of repairs done in this store, bought tires and front end alignments, and even recommended them to others, including family members.
** really shouldn't leave her in charge. She has no common sense and was mean and hateful to me. I asked her to perform a simple service and she informed me it was against policy. Well people, if YOU changed my oil, and I check it and it's not full, then in my opinion you are obligated to top it off! Not according to her. And she told me she didn't care what ** did, it wasn't happening. I have nothing against women working in an auto repair business, I usually admire it, but I don't admire snooty and hateful.
Oh and when I just turned around and walked back to my car, she appeared in the bay with blue hand towel in her hand. I don't know why because she knew I was leaving. If I hadn't have spoken with another retailer who changes oil and got THEIR policy, you wouldn't have received this email. My mistake thinking my $99 oil change warrants some kind of service. This is a tire place, right? I bought a new tire in the winter, to replace one lost to snowbank related puncture, and I wanted to match those I had. It took hours, but I got my new tire. Soon afterwards, my tire pressure light came on. My mechanic found no problem with tire pressure. So, when I had time, I went back to Firestone for rotation of tires, hoping they would also find the solution to the pressure indicator. Complementary rotation, but they talked me into a "Summer check-up" for $10. Sat and waited for more than two hours, despite having made an appointment. Of course they found things to recommend, but I have a mechanic so I said, "Not today".
I drove off. Immediately I heard a noise I had not heard before: a vibration noise and I felt a shimmy. My car had ran perfectly smoothly before. So what? Do they deliberately do a bad job, so as to make you come back and spend more money? Boo. No more Firestone for me.

I seriously misplaced my trust, time and $$ when I dropped off two brand new, just out of the box hours earlier, custom aluminum rims at this location recently, where I also purchased two new Firestone tires to be mounted on said rims. Everything seemed to have gone fine when a few hours later, I was called and told my wheels were ready for pick-up. BUT everything was not fine as it seemed, it was in fact - ALL wrong!
It would seem that placing the tire on the balancing machine properly and securing it down - prior to spinning it up - which I think it's the only way it can even be balanced... (but what do I know with some 15 yrs in auto restoration) was not something taught to some techs there... the result was my now +/- $600 brand new hub-centric custom wheel was bounced around like a pin ball down a rocky mountain on the balancing machine resulting in a destroyed center hole (both out of round and had rolled, deformed edges, missing finish, multiple nicks, scratches, gouges all over the new wheel). Worse to this event was that I was NOT told this had happened at all. In fact, I was told when I ask how it went that "everything went fine" and sent out the door as if I'm some chump who's never gonna notice! It would have been IMPOSSIBLE for the tech to have done this and not known about it!
It was only when I unloaded both wheels from the car when I got home that I saw the damage. So back to "fire-me, I must be-stoned" I go, not 5 minutes after getting home from there! Oh... but it gets better as while going over my payment invoice because now I scrutinizing all of it, I see multiple charges for things I did NOT want, did NOT need and were NOT even required that had been "slipped in"... such as new lifetime rubber valve stems (wheels were new and came with pre-installed with $40 ea. TPMS valves... no need to touch the valve stems!). I was charged for "tire disposal fees" yet rims were new/bare when I brought them in and I purchased two new tires there at Firestone... what used tires where they disposing of??? There were other "misc" charges all adding up to nearly $60 up-charge... OOPS I MEAN SCAM CHARGES.
I was further charged for "optional" road-hazard protection which I had not been asked to accept or decline... why yes, another small $50 charge I didn't need/want. Now back at Firestone, they at least admitted the damage (THEY KNEW IT HAD HAPPENED) and were quick to order me a new wheel - AT LEAST I GOT THIS MUCH... but don't assume they did whatever they could to expedite that process/rim shipment as a means of making my life just that much easier or bringing quick resolution to this matter... the rim took nearly a week to arrive by slow boat. All the while, my other new wheels/tires totaling close to $2000 worth sat in my garage and waited to be mounted on the car because of this situation. BS! My conversation with the shop manager was an ever greater delight when I was informed that "hey, I was lucky they were not going to charge me for the re-install of the purchased tire on the replacement rim, that they have coming for me"... say what?? You must be kidding me!
I got NO apology, NO "we'll make this right"... and certainly nothing informing me there was damage to begin with... nothing but made to feel that somehow this was MY fault and oh, all those added charges... well those were simple mistakes, we don't know how that happened and I "could be" credited back for those if I wanted! OMG! Finally my rim arrived and AGAIN - AGAIN - AGAIN, I drove back to Firestone as if I have nothing better to do with my day... to drop off the damaged wheel (I didn't trust them to keep it, it still had a brand new $200 tire & $40 TPMS on it) and get it swapped out with the new rim. A few more hours later, I think I am finally all done with this nightmare of an install but not before I get to stand in line and wait to get my credit back for most of the added/unwanted/unneeded charges - or so I think. Once again, sent out the door with not even a sorry or thank you, but glad to be going regardless!
In review of the new invoice which was to reflect my credits, it looks like I got scammed for about $6 that was not refunded properly... it just doesn't end and truly don't get it how a simple process of mounting a tire to a rim and proper (legal/ethical) invoicing is simply TOO MUCH TO EXPECT. But at this point, now there 5 times and a week of my time, gas, travel, patience & trust basically wasted, I ended up with the same thing I could have gotten from any number of other tire stores in just a few minutes and without all this BS! I guess I'll cut my losses, they can have the $6... I have HAD good luck and service with Firestone in the past - on many vehicles - up until now. I am not sure at this point if I will ever go back. It comes down to a matter of trust and customer service and no matter how you try to pay for that, it cannot be bought, it has to be earned!

Store #3301 Duluth, GA. I am writing to express my frustration with a recent experience I had at your store. The second week of May 2015, I brought my 2007 Lexus LS460 for what I thought was minor routine maintenance. That being; tire rotation and balancing, a wheel alignment along with an oil change, replacement of cabin filter and air conditioning filter. In addition, I also thought a radiator flush might be in order as summer was approaching. When I brought my car into Firestone at approximately 10:00 am there was absolutely nothing wrong with my vehicle. Everything was working fine. My nightmare began when I came in to retrieve my vehicle at approximately 4:30 pm. I was directed to a bay where my car had been serviced. I was then told that the lip/connector to the radiator was damage and supposedly had yellow glue holding the hose and the radiator together.
I was also told by the technician that he secured the hose back to the radiator yet he was unsure whether or not it would hold. Therefore if the radiator fluid leaked it would require that I purchase a new radiator. At that point, I never saw yellow glue on or near the radiator and or hose. I trusted him and thought this could not be an issue as my car obviously had no issues prior to the flush therefore if the connector was broken prior, surely it would hold. Panic didn't set in until the following morning when I noticed there was leakage in the garage and immediately took my car to Firestone. I was told I would require a new radiator at a cost of $850.00. Since owning this vehicle for a total of 6 years only one Lexus Dealership has ever serviced my vehicle, therefore I was confident that they could get to the bottom of this.
Upon speaking with my Service Manager at the Lexus Dealership (who pulled my service records), I was told Lexus had never once flushed the coolant due to the fact that it was not a required service until 100,000 miles, my car had 94,000 miles. I immediately notified the manager at the Duluth Firestone of my findings and explained that when I brought my car in there weren't any issues, when I picked my car up there were issues. Lexus is saying based upon my vehicle records there weren't any major service issues with my car, no hoses or belts were ever changed, only regular maintenance, therefore they are pretty confident that the damage did not occur at Lexus. I also voiced my concerns about Firestone not informing me that the coolant service was not required until 100,000 miles.
I tried to resolve this issue in a mutually beneficial way yet Firestone refused to take ownership all I heard was the fact that he trusted his technician. Before I could formally file a written complaint more issues began to happen. For one my speed dial numbers were completely eased, and the option to add the numbers is no longer available. The air bag light is now on and the air conditioner cannot be turned on when the car is idle (90% of the time - sporadic). I thought I could wait to have Lexus review exactly what was happening on my next service date, yet the air conditioner proved to be a major inconvenience while traveling this Memorial Day weekend therefore I took my car into Firestone today (May 26, 2015) only to be met with skepticism by the Firestone Representative who finally agreed to have my vehicle looked at.
I was told by the Firestone Representative that there would be no way they could be responsible for what I was describing. He also wanted to know why it took me a couple weeks to bring it in as they service hundreds of vehicle and have never had any issues. I felt he acted very unprofessional as there were several customers in the waiting area. I explained that my job requires that I travel and I needed to wait for a time that was convenient for me. Upon further review by a Service Technician it was determined that the culprit appears to be a possible lever that may have been damaged when the air conditioner filter was replaced by Firestone. He explained the vehicle is computerized and the air conditioner will not engage unless it sense the air cavity is closed, which explains the behavior of the air conditioner.
In order to repair this issue the entire dashboard has to be removed. I'm frightened to take my car back to Firestone as the last minor service cost me over $1200.00 and walked away with major issues that have yet to be resolved. I'm not confident that your technicians can repair the damage that was caused to me and my vehicle. It is extremely disheartening that I could not receive the assistance and service I deserved.

On my way home I noticed there was exhaust fumes leaking into the passenger compartment of the car (it didn't do this before I took it there), so I dropped the car back off to them a few days later to get the problem resolved. Four days later I called them about my car and they told me it was ready to go. They did not call me, I had to call them. So I got into my car and started it up and there was still an exhaust leak and was told by the counter guy that the tech didn't disconnect that side. He disconnected the other side so there would be an extra charge to fix the leak (that wasn't there before they worked on my car).
Later that week my car started to run really rough so I jacked it up and noticed that a few spark plug wires was touching the exhaust manifold. I then took my car to the Firestone @ 1960 and Jones rd in Houston. I was then told the plug wires cap and rotor and water pump needed to be replaced. I then let that counter guy know that the plugs were just replaced at the other location and the wires must have been put back on wrong, and was told the wires are not under warranty because they were not originally installed by Firestone. So I let them do the work at a cost to me of $1,400.00. I have now driven the car about 100 miles and is back at Firestone with more spark plug wires burned from incorrect installation. My experience as outlined below shows how a national chain like Firestone can be such crooks. I am writing this to warn people not to go to this location. I have been a customer at Springfield, Firestone for close to 12 years. Recently I took my car to check why the radiator fan was going on even after I turned the ignition off. The person at the front desk told me it’s normal but since I had never noticed it before I asked him to check it anyways. After few hours I get a call saying that my car needs a few manufacturer recommended services. I said yes to them but they never mentioned anything about the main reason I brought the car to them and that was the fan so I asked them if they checked it and they said yes and that they found nothing wrong with it. So, I picked up my car and noticed the fan issue was still there.
Next day while driving I noticed that the temperature gauge was almost close to hot. So I called Firestone about it and they told that since they did the courtesy check the coolant must be good unless it leaked out in a day. I didn't want to drive the car so I got a mobile mechanic to come to my house and take a look. He didn’t find any leak after thoroughly checking the car. The only explanation he could come up with was that the Firestone had replaced the coolant hose in June 2014 and they had not put the clip at the right place and that the coolant had leaked over the last year and more than three fourths of it was gone. So when Firestone said that they had done the courtesy check they had actually not checked the coolant at all and they marked it as OK in the courtesy check document. Also, they brazenly lied to me about checking the fan issue when they had not done it.
While going through my Firestone documents to check when the hose was replaced the mobile technician noted that Firestone has been replacing my Iridium spark plug every 12-13,000 miles even though it should not be changed for 60-80,000 miles. Every time they told me it’s a manufacturer recommended service so I believed them and never checked whether it was actually needed. So I called them about it and they made an excuse that the technician must have recommended it without looking at the car history. Although they credited me the money for all three spark plug services, I thought this was an extremely unethical and fraudulent of them to do this.
Their greed, fraud, and faulty hose replacement could have cost serious damage to my car and could have left me stranded on the road. I have no faith that most of the services and courtesy checks they have been performing over the years were ever carried out. I have written to the corporate office and am still waiting for them to contact me to say they are sorry.

I've been going to Firestone for about 4 years now but will not return. The ONLY reason I went in the first place is that they're open on Saturday. I'm not sure if the guys working there are really mechanics. Last year after a freeze in New Orleans, my car started leaking fluid. Unbeknownst to me at the time, it was radiator fluid. About 2 days after the leak it begins to heat up. I take it into Firestone as that's the only place close to where I am. They insist on saying they don't know what the problem is. So I ask ok well what is the fluid leaking from my car - again they say they don't know. Mind you, it took the a week to find out that they didn't know what was wrong with it. I would think that an idiot could put 2 and 2 together and figure out its the radiator.
I understand not wanting to be responsible because driving a car that's overheating can cause serious engine trouble, but don't you think it would've been nice to tell me on day 2 rather than wait another 3 additional days while I'm paying for a rental to say "I don't know?" Even after this I decided to give them another shot since this location wasn't my usual location. But today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I bring my car in on Saturday for brakes. $404 I pay. I drive my car away and 5 minutes later, there's smoke pouring from the right side. I bring it back and the Lead Tech says it's the caliper. I say, "and you let me drive away like that, how do you know so quickly?" He says, "I didn't work on your car but it should have been test driven before it was given back to you, come back Monday and we'll give you a refund." They even pay for a cab for me to get home.
So on Sunday they try to fix the caliper but a bolt is stuck so they say Monday it'll be ready. On Monday I go to pick up my vehicle, the attendant looks as if he's going to charge me again and I say I'm supposed to be getting a refund. He says "for the brakes?" I say, "yes the guy out there, the lead tech, said I'm getting a refund because it took 3 days." Arriving home, I decide to read the write up which says "Customer upset because had to wait 3 days for brakes, even though it was a caliper issue that locked up while customer was driving. Not our fault. Replaced caliper for customer at no charge".
Needless to say, I was insulted. The manager promised me a refund and said his tech was to blame for not test driving the car. I was painted as an irate customer who only got her money back because she complained. Instead of the attendant checking with the lead tech for the details, he chose to cover his butt or his co-workers' butt and portray somebody who has spent over $3k with them as a trouble maker. THE ONLY THING FIRESTONE CAN HANDLE IS NEW TIRES AND FROM THE LOOK OF SOME OF THE OTHER CONSUMERS, IT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE THEY CAN HANDLE THAT.

This place is without question the worst chain auto repair shop I have ever encountered. We went there for an oil change and an inspection. We left here with clunking from the rear. We returned within 2 hours and were told our rear brakes and drums needed to be replaced. This was really odd because we had no sound or anything when we went there. Nothing! We thought it was odd but we had the repairs done for $600!!! nevertheless. This time we left and got on the thruway relieved that nothing was supposedly wrong. 5 minutes later, the van was wobbling all over the place. It was scary! It was out of control. So we immediately return to Firestone and are told we need to leave it again for the night! So we got a rental and waited for their call again.
This time they claimed both front axles and seals were destroyed and needed to be replaced in addition to a ball joint for a total of $1170!! Wth! This place is out of control! When I got agitated the one handed manager (**) could only say, "Well if you go to the doctor for a bad shoulder and then leave with a bad knee, it's not the dr's fault!" What is that???!! I've never been to any dr for one problem and leave with another! Have you!? Well anyways, we told them off and slowly drove to a friend's garage. Anyways, got it all repaired for $345! Not $1100+!! I only wish I was vindictive. Man I wish I was! This place is WRONG!!

I originally just wanted an oil change. Walked in and noticed their promo going on where they offer 6 services for $10 including inspection. It was the end of the month so I thought it would be a good idea, not to mention it sounded like a pretty good deal. So I had them take the car. Soon after, I was told I needed to replace the front struts. I asked how much and was told $554. At first I refused and began calling around other places to see if I could get a better price. Having no success at that, I told them I couldn't afford it. I was told I could get some discounts and also might be able to get on a 6 month plan and make payments. I replied my credit was crap and probably wouldn't qualify for a penny. He insisted on at least trying and honestly I said OK just to shut him up (they still had my car so I couldn't just leave). Come to find out, I qualified for some $900 or something like that.
I was thrilled and told the guy I could pay the $554 off before 6 months! He was just as thrilled as I was! So I told him to go ahead and fix the car so it could pass inspection. So then the time came to pick up the car. They had the car for about 3 hours or so. I was told the total price would be $854. I almost had a heart attack in front of the guy. Walked out pretty pissed. Not once did I ever hear about labor costs or how much it was. I talked to the guy for a good long time about making payments on the 6 month plan and stuff like that.. I mean not even dealerships charge $110/hr unless you own a freaking Ferrari! The place I usually take my car to only charges $70/hr and they include labor in the price they give you for PARTS. So I thought labor was included in the $554 that Firestone gave me.
Apparently Firestone is a dishonest company who WAAAAY overcharges their customers on labor and doesn't even bother to tell them until it's too late. This was the first time I have ever dealt with a car business that DOES NOT include labor in its parts quotes. Extremely dishonest company. I will NEVER use Store#646164 ever again.

Took daughter's car in for the 19.99 brake inspection at the Fairfield CA location. Appointment was made on for 9:00 AM. Arrived on time. I was told that in addition to the brake inspection, my daughter had requested a tire rotation. I called my daughter and she indicated she hadn't requested a tire rotation only the brake inspection. I was told it would be an hour to 1 1/2 hour wait. At 10:17 AM I was informed that they would have to charge an additional $129.00 to inspect the rear brakes because they would have to remove the bearings, check the brakes, and repack them. However, they checked the front brakes and test drove the car and the brakes were fine. No problems. No issues. So I declined the $129.00 service.
The service rep looked at me, stood there for a second, then stated, "Well I need to tell them not to inspect the back brakes." I was told that the fee for the brake inspection fee was waived, received my car keys and left. After driving a block I started hearing a loud noise coming from the back left brakes whenever I applied the brakes. I immediately returned and told them about the problem I was now having. One of the employees stated, "Oh, he must not have adjusted your brakes properly, I will tell him to fix it." This was at 10:43 AM. At 11:20 AM the car was moved to the work bay. At 11:40 I walked outside to see what was going on. No one was working on my daughter's car. I was told what was going on, why isn't the car being worked on? I was informed the technician had gone to lunch!!! Really? At this point I had been there almost 3 hours. This is clearly not how I wanted to spend my day off.
Long story short, they broke not one but two lug nuts and failed to tell me. They basically told me that since they allegedly didn't touch the back brakes any issues already existed. Yet when I told them I have the papers I received earlier that stated there were no issues with the brakes, that their employee test drove the car and noted no issues, they had nothing to say except "We're replacing the lug nuts and that's it." My daughter's car is now having back brake issues and unable to drive her commute car to work until we can get it repaired this weekend. I also question a brake inspection that only checks the front brakes, and for additional $129.00 the back brakes. It's my belief Firestone intentionally did something to the brakes and the $129.00 was what they wanted to charge to repair it. My daughter's coworker took her car to Firestone and both the front and back brakes were inspected.

On 4/4/15 I took my car to Firestone in Bridgewater Falls to have my battery cables replaced due to corrosion. Car worked fine for about one week, then I was having problems with my car again when my car stalled out. I got under the hood of my car to shake the wires to make it start again, and it did. I was told to do this in case it would not start and I did and it started right up, but I should not have to do this if it was fixed right in the first place. On 4/29/15 I was driving my car and again my car died on me. Called Firestone to have my car towed, was told that they would be there within the hour. Waited two hours- no tow truck so I cancelled the tow, called someone else. The problems that I was having was that my belts were bad so they were replaced by another Firestone company. Was driving home and again my car stalled out again. I got out and shook the battery cables and the car started right up.
So I called again and I was told by ** that he did not want me to bring my car back in, that he did not want me on his property at all. I have a warranty on these parts, but to this day I will not return to this Firestone due to the fact of the way I was treated and spoken to not only that I’m afraid of what they might do to my car. I am a woman and I have been taken advantage of and this is so unfair. I would think no matter who you are we would be treated with respect. Found out that the negative wires are not properly connected by another Firestone. Thought I could trust these people - boy was I wrong.

I will never recommend Firestone to anyone ever again. Here is my story. So I went into the Firestone on Fort Bragg NC, just wanted a tune up, and make sure everything was ok with the car. Once the mechanic got done checking the car I had $2700 in work or "recommended suggestions" that needed to be done. So I book an appt to get it all done the next day, I went home feeling something wasn't right. I called my mom (who had the car two years before me). I told her all the work that needed to be done. She basically said half the work on that sheet has already been done. So I went to Pope Auto Care to let them check the vehicle. About 1/4 of the sheet was false statements!!! Then the labor cost were through the roof.
I drove over to Firestone and asked the manager how long it takes to do a brake fluid exchange. He said "30 min" so I asked him “why the labor was $60 for 30 minutes of work”. He then proceeded to change his mind and say “oh it's an hour because ....blah blah blah”. I said “still $60 for an hour of labor??” I don't even get paid that much. It wasn't just the brake fluid exchange it was also a caliper that was "mounted wrong" (which was incorrect, my caliper was completely fine). Labor was $48 for a job that takes 5 minutes to do. All you had to do was flip it back the correct way. A flick of the wrist! They also lied about my brake rotors. The mechanic said it was too thin to resurface. That was a complete lie. The other mechanic shop said that the rotors were fine.
I didn't even have pope auto check the rest of the sheet because everything was so infuriated that I did even trust anything on that paper. Firestone thinks that just because I'm a woman and don't know anything about cars that I'm dumb. Well I'm not. I'm a darn good detective too. And it's sad to see that this Firestone is on a military installation ripping off soldiers that includes me. I do not approve!!

I decided to go to Firestone Complete Car Care Center in Edinburgh for an alignment. They came back to say the front inner tire rod needed to be replaced. So they did. The problem with the alignment still was not fixed the first time so I went back and had them do it again. So then they decided to rotate the front tires from side to the other. Not rotate from front to back which should have been done in the first place. So now after a second alignment because of it pulling to the right it is now pulling to the left. I went back up there with a coupon for an oil change and a tire rotation, which should have been done in the first place that I then had to pay for and the mechanic said I now have a bright shiny nail in my tire that needed to be plugged. I told him to leave it and not to plug it that I will take care of that myself.
When I returned home, furious, we took off one tire at a time there was no nail to be found in any of the tires. Needless to say my experience with Firestone was the worst. I'm not only angry I am just so upset feeling like being a woman going into a car care place I was taken advantage of. Will not recommend Firestone to anyone and will never go back. He gave me a whole list of issues that they wanted to fix otherwise my car wouldn't drive. I was shocked and I suspected that they probably did something to my car which runs fine without any problems.
I didn't have any choice but to allow them to rip me off. They charged my CFNA card for the bill and then I found out that I had 6 months to pay it off otherwise I will be charged an ungodly rate of interest, unlike other cards where you can pay the minimum balance due. I fell into this trap and I want to warn everybody that they should stay away from Firestone and CFNA both. So I went to firestone to get my car truck fix because I was driving and it cut off on me while driving. Anyway I got it towed at firestone for repair so when I got there the guy charge me $100 without doing anything. I ask “what is this for” he said “it’s engine diagnostic to see what's wrong” so I was like ok fine. Sign the paper just for that and left because they won't get to it until tomorrow. So the next day firestone calls me and said “hey you need a timing belt” I was like ok. But the guy said it could be worse than that so I was like “just be upfront with me, what am I looking at as for price.” So he gave me two price option, One cost $1150 just to get it started and I said “that's all I want you to do in the first place.” The second one cost $5500. I told him “please don't waste my time or his because I'm not paying that much to repair a car that don't cost that much.”
So because I refused to pay $5500 for that repair and only agreed to pay $1150 even though I really didn’t want to pay that, because I didn’t believe him but anyhow I didn’t have a choice because I needed my truck for work and so on. Anyway I knew he would came back with the $5500 even though I told him “don't bother me with that.” So now firestone want to charge me for labor cost that they didn’t do. Just, because I said “I won't pay that to get it fix” after he quote me the lower price. Now it went up in price so I told him “look don't do nothing to my truck l will come and get it” so now firestone want to charge me labor cost without fixing anything. The firestone on 10135 Bloomingdale Ave in Riverview Fl. Stay away from these guys they are crooks.. Dishonest people who has no morals.
Now they won't give me my truck unless I pay the $700 labor cost and the guy even have the guts to threaten me of if I don't pay they would put a lien on my truck so I won't see it again. So I'm in need of lawyer. Because I found out they can't put a lien on my vehicle for one I didn’t authorized any repair and because my vehicle don't even worth that much so they can't put a lien on it. But I won't pay for labor cost because they agreed they didn’t even fix it. So I still want my vehicle back but not to cost of $700 dollars but I'm only willing to pay $100 dollars I sign for nothing more. Any advice?

If the shop was not equipped with the proper equipment and/or expertise to mount these wheels properly, I would have liked to have known this before! This shop was rated highly on the Tire Rack website (where I bought the tires), as one of their "recommended installers," and the price was right, so this why I chose it. Now, I have a very expensive set of damaged wheels on my car! I took pictures of the tires at the shop, right after they said they were done. There was apparently no final QA done on these, and I feel they tried to pull a fast one on me (a typical female), and get me off the lot without knowing it.
Additionally, they charged me for tire disposal when I did not give them my original tires. Two of the techs looked at it, took a picture and said "Oh, we're sorry." The manager was not there that day. In fairness, he has not contacted me yet, but I am not very confident that he will buy me a whole new set of wheels, and will probably try and placate me with some touch-up paint or some other second rate solution which I do not want to live with.

Her car was there 2 days when I asked her if she's heard from them and she said something that didn't sound right. I asked again and said, "Are you sure?" I decided to call and see what was going on. Sure enough they charged her $854.03 for diagnostic test. So 2 days later and almost 1000 they've only done testing.
I went off on the Manager (who was also working on the car). Told him he was never authorized to do work on the car and she's a minor. He never told her that the timing belt could be off but he won't know until he gets in there and gets it open. But it's major work and can be time-consuming. Never once explained to her that means $$$$. By the end of the day they called and said it was all ready to go. I return the rental car then get dropped off at FS the next day. Start my car to pull out and check. Engine light comes on. Walked back inside, explained the prob. A service guy comes out, used some computer thing, resets it and not once checked out the car to see why the light was on...He just walked off with an attitude.
The light wasn't even on when I dropped it off the first day. As I am driving home, the car starts shaking and driving rough then check engine light comes back on. The next day I had to find time to once again return to have them fix the problem. I also noticed that the car pulled to the right (worse than before) so I asked that they fix that also. Been a Firestone Auto/Credit customer for more than a decade. Took my son's Hyundai 2007 to Firestone (Store # 282012, Hilliard, OH) on a Sunday cause the brake pedal was going to the floor. I drove the car to Firestone and was shocked how dangerous the braking was, very fortunate and surprised my son did not have an accident in this very snowy winter.
Having worked in a service station years ago, I felt for sure the first course of action was to bleed the brakes. Was told had to wait for the "best tech" to look at it on Monday. Got a call Monday morning from Jordon, telling me there's a leak in the Master Cylinder and Brake Pressure switch. I said that was odd since I had not seen the brake light come on, nor had we seen any leaking in driveway, garage floor.
Asked if he thought it would be a good idea to bleed the brakes, maybe air in the line. Jordon responded that would be a waste cause cylinder was leaking. He sent me a text showing me the "leak". I advised my wife had just topped off the fluids (brake, power steering) and could have spilled some. He said it was leaking. Part cost $499, total repair estimate $650. I called around a couple places and had 3 shops (including Hyundai Dealer) say it was odd a 2007 would need a new master brake cylinder.
Decided to get a 2nd opinion. My wife and our son went to pick up the Hyundai from Firestone. Jordon showed my wife and son where the leak was and pointed out the "wet" spots. My wife asked about bleeding the brakes, and Jordon had the same response as he had for me, that it would be a waste of time. My wife advised we were taking car for a 2nd opinion. Took to a local non-franchise shop. They smartly bleed the brakes and had found air in the passenger side brake caliper line. Asked a couple obvious questions, like, did we spill any fluid, did we ever see the brake warning light. The 2nd shop kept the vehicle for 2 days, said pressure was fine, and could not find any brake parts that needed replaced.
I have no idea how air got into the brake line, but Firestone techs had been the only people to work on my cars, new front tires were put on the previous month, and an alignment was done a few months ago. I am not suggesting anything purposeful was done, but I would not be surprised if this was the result of substandard quality workmanship. Keep in mind, brakes could have completely gone out, with my 17-year old son behind the wheel driving in very snowy weather. I will be canceling my Firestone credit card and NEVER going back. I cannot trust Firestone anymore.

It was over a time of 11 days. Really hope that Firestone doesn't treat all of their customers this way. I have been a customer for several years and never had service like this. Would really like for them to do what is right as far as the compensation. If someone were to shut down their business due to negligence I would think they would be compensated

I went to Firestone for a second opinion on a rack and pinion. It was suggested that I get a valve cover. The valve cover was left off of my car. The oil went all over my motor and out of my car. The salesman informed me that the valve cover was left off my car. One of the technicians sprayed my motor down with a water hose. I took my car back twice for them to fix it. My car has been smoking ever since they laid hands on my car, especially out of the tailpipe. I was given a refund of $1580 after taking my car back the second time. I did not even ask for a refund, I was trying to get my car fixed.
I took my car to the dealer. The dealer informed me that my engine needs to be replaced. I filed a claim with Firestone. The claim was denied. I am in total disbelief. Firestone blew my motor and it is on me to fix it. If the valve cover job would have been done properly, my motor would not be blown. They could have fixed my car properly the night they realized their mistake but did not do it. They let me drive off the lot. I called them five minutes after I left the shop to let them know my car was smoking. I was told the oil was burning off. The oil light started to come on later that night. I put oil in my car. I had my oil changed by the dealer two days before Firestone worked on my car.

And if I didn't pull over in time my family and I would suffer consequences of a possible blow out and other outcomes. I have contacted Jim of Firestone for years. Might I add that's it winter and very cold, icy and lots of snow, here in New England.
I get to Firestone, Bloomfield CT. at 5:30 pm. They proceeded to tell me how busy they were (I could see that), however my safety was my concern. I take a seat and wait, and wait, and wait. 1 hour later they put my car on the lift. My husband came over to the shop as well, my car sat on the lift for 1hour and 30 min. no one, looked at my car nor the tire then another hour later, told me it could not be repaired, which was total nonsense. I purchased those tires in that shop in 2013 with hardly any miles on those tires. During this time waiting a woman came in with a flat tire, and the person at the counter sent her outside with a gauge to check her own tire REALLY, I've never seen anything like this. My Heater Blower was not working in Nissan Altima 07 model car. It has got 61K miles in it. My car was in a good condition until I went there to fix the blower issue. Firestone made an estimate of $105 to change a relay and labour cost. On Saturday morning I left my car. Evening, when I went back, they said there was transmission problem, the car will not go more than 10 miles per hour, acceleration will fail, the radio connection was wrong. And still they didn't fix the original problem. And further said to me take it to dealer, and they could not able to diagnose the issue.
I asked them, whether the car is in a driving condition. They said YES. When I started my car, there was a JERK in changing every gear also, there was a burning smell. Then I left my car with them to fix it. On Monday they were again not able to fix it. Firestone promised, if anything made out of their fault, will pay that money. So, On Tuesday I took the car towed to Nissan dealer. There they diagnosed and told a wrong relay and the fuse connections wires were loose, and that was the cause. They made this corrected and it's working now as usual.
After which, when I checked with Firestone about the BILL, they are said, they never touched the wires. They just opened the box. And they deny to pay my BILL. And further they gave area manager number to check with him. And he never lifting his phone. The diag. change was about $600, which Firestone deny, saying, they will never pay because it was not their fault, which is ridiculous and frustration. So GUYS, DON'T GO FIRESTONE FOR ANY MECHANICAL WORK. USE THEM FOR OIL CHANGE, TIRE CHANGE OR ANY OTHER COSMETIC CHANGE ONLY. THEY ARE FIT ONLY TO DO THAT.

On Jan. 25th I took my car to Firestone for an oil change. I went in without a 3 and a half inch crack and came out with a 3 and a half inch crack on my windshield. Note: I went in for oil change nothing else. I complained and they said it is documented in the paper from the guy who worked on my car. I said well they could of put the scratch in writing before they started or when it happened or at the end, correct? He said yes. I asked well don't they call to say I noticed you have a big scratch before they start work in on car? Being they documented it, why not call me? He said it's in writing so nothing I can do. Well if you're going to be picky about scratches and dings and dents on my car, why not document all. And not just this huge scratch that I did not come in with?
I have been a customer of them for 10 yrs. and I am never a picky or complaining type of person. Never have I ever tried to pull the wool over anyone's head. And he said "well ma'am he had it written down so nothing I can do". Now I am stuck with a 200 dollar repair when I went in for a 60 dollar oil change. Extremely upset about this. I believe honesty is the best policy. Obviously this place of business does not see it this way.

Brought my vehicle in to Firestone to have brakes bleed properly after a failed attempt myself. I replaced the front calipers on my vehicle but could not get a firm pedal after several attempts to bleed them. I explained the situation to the service advisor and they recommended they re-bleed the brakes. I received a call later in the day from the service advisor that they could not get a firm pedal either. They said that the calipers were installed reversed and they needed to be switched around. The service advisor told me the charge would be an additional $160 on top of the $90 I was already paying to have the brakes bled.
I believe if Firestone was really interested in helping me instead of only trying to squeeze every drop of blood out of this turnip, they would have informed me of the problem with the calipers before bleeding the incorrectly installed calipers...giving me the opportunity to remedy the situation and only charging to diagnose the problem would have been satisfactory to me. I told the service advisor to close the ticket and would be there to get the vehicle and do the repair myself.
When I picked up the vehicle I asked why the charge was so much to swap the calipers around as the vehicle was already in configuration for bleeding them anyway, the caliper swap would only take 10 minutes to complete. The service advisor continually stated he had to go by what the "book" says to charge... THE "BOOK"...That blind wonder that repair shops use to become ultimately impersonal with the clients... It basically throws all negotiable ability of the customer out the window and hand ties service advisors from seeing the picture for what it is. Hence, in my belief, automotive repair shops are total frauds that bilk the unknowing out of tons more money than they should have to pay. Btw... took me 1/2 hour to repair my vehicle including jacking up, removing tires, swapping calipers, bleeding, reinstalling the tires and taking vehicle off the Jack stands...

In August 2014, I took my car to Firestone (6571 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224) to have my rack and pinion replaced. On Christmas Eve, I took my car back to the same location. After their diagnostic, Firestone advised me that my vehicle's rack and pinion was not fixed properly by them back in August 2014 and that it was in need of corrective repair again. Firestone advised that my car would be fixed and ready for pick up on Friday, December 26th. However, it was not. I called the Firestone site on Friday, 12/26/14 and was informed that they were still waiting on parts and that a manager was supposed to have called me earlier that same morning to notify me of my vehicle's status. Firestone, Eastern Ave advised me that the corrective repairs would be complete by Saturday, 12/27/14, and that the shop would give me a status update by no later than 12 noon on that date. Firestone failed to call me with my vehicle's repair status by 12 noon on Saturday, 12/27/14. Again, I had to initiate the call to Firestone on Saturday, 12/27/14 at 4:30 pm to inquire about the repair status of my vehicle.
A Firestone technician informed me that my cushion pin was damaged by another technician and that the part had to be ordered, but that Firestone would complete the repairs on Sunday, 12/28/14 thus enabling me to pick up my car. Instead of waiting for someone to call, I went to Firestone to speak in person. Their technician, **, advised me that my car would not be ready and that they never should have led me to believe that my car would have been ready at that day, Sunday 12/28/14. ** informed me that Firestone would compensate me for my inconvenience, and would have a rental car ready for me on Monday 12/29/14 no later than 8:15 am. Upon arrival at Firestone on Monday, 12/29/14, at the prescribed time I learned that Firestone failed to secure a rental car for me as they had promised. The Firestone site never stepped up to take responsibility for their error. I was stranded without any transportation to get to work. Inevitably, I was not able to spend quality time with family during this holiday season because I was stuck in the house without my car due to Firestone's poor quality of workmanship and pure lack of customer service excellence.
Up until Monday, 12/29/14, the only thing this Firestone facility clearly communicated to me was that I should drive my vehicle which was in a further state of disrepair. My vehicle would have no horn or air bags until they could obtain the parts. Later that day, I had to fight for a rental car by calling the regional manager, which he provided me with one. For a company that prides themselves on communication, honesty, and customer service, I am still waiting to see a reality of it in action! Update: I was told that my car was ready for pick my car up on 1/5/2015. When I arrived at this location, they attempted to charge me over $900 for something they failed to fix properly. Secondly, my car was not ready for pick up. My Check Engine, Traction, No Steering light were on, and my airbag cover was damaged. In addition, my car was dirty from their shoe marks. I had no prior issues with my car before bringing it here. It has been over 10 days and I still do not have my car back. I am beyond frustrated and will never do business with them again.

Approximately two months ago I took my Acura MDX to this store on Montfort Ct to have my brake pads replaced. The manager of the store said he just needed to replace my pads and not the rotors. I picked my truck up and instantly I heard a noise, and my brake pedal went all the way to the floor, so waited a couple of days and the noise persisted. I took it back to the store and they said it was nothing and everything looked fine. I called corporate and they refunded me and offered me to take the vehicle to another store, so I did.
I took it to the store on Preston Rd. The CSR told me the technician heard the noise and it was coming from the brakes needing to mesh with the rotors, but to continue driving it and if the noise persists, to bring it back. On Saturday 6 Dec I took the truck back to the Preston Rd and the manager, Robbie drove it, heard the noise and told me the noise was because the Montfort Ct store was supposed to replace my rotors when they replaced the pads because of the type of vehicle I have. He said when new pads are installed on my vehicle, the rotors has to be replaced.
I called the corporate office to keep them updated, spoke with Tyler and he updated my case file. Robbie from Preston Rd Firestone called me to tell me that because I was issued a refund on my pads, my warranty was expired and there was nothing he could do. I then called corporate back, spoke with Tyler again and he sent my case to the district manager and I am not awaiting a call from that person.
My issue is, the Montfort Ct store did not perform the brake pad installation correctly, thereby causing this issue. Had they did their job accurately there would have been no need for a refund and my vehicle would have had the proper maintenance; but since they did not do the proper maintenance, they need to correct this issue.

My family and I have been longtime customers of Firestone (over 20 years) and have over 1,000 invoices to prove it. Over the past few years, customer service seems to have slipped; alignment issues (3 stores, 3 results; no consistency), unbalanced tires (after rebalancing), service rep not listening to customer request (requested quote for 5 tires with road hazard, only got 4 without the road hazard; did not check spare as requested), automatically assuming I want high mileage (more expensive) oil change and have to ask it be taken off (same store for 2 years), not being able to locate any of my vehicles in the systems on multiple occasions (same store for last 2 years), etc...
I usually get better service at Tires Plus locations, but not in the P-cola/Ft Walton area; the store back in Middleburg was much more customer oriented, and they got a lot more of my money as a result. As for the tires, the only issue I've ever had was severe weather cracking in a set of Tourings, with one splitting from a defect (tried to argue with 2 different stores, lost both). Due to having lifetime alignment, a long relationship with them, and the fact they are nationwide, I'll keep going back to Firestone. Not to pit the East Coast vs the West Coast Firestone locations against each other. But quite frankly, there is a huge difference in customer service. I recently retired from the military in Virginia and transitioned back to Northern California. I have been a Firestone customer for more than five years. My two experiences occurred in two separate locations.
First experience: Warrantied tires were damaged on the sidewall and I immediately took my car to Firestone in Fairfield around noon on a Saturday. I understand there would be a wait, but the time quoted was not as close to the time completed. I was quoted approximately 2 -3 hours and instead did not walk out until almost 5 hours. Communication of delay would have been nice, instead of me waiting so long.
Second experience: Needed an oil change. Stopped by Richmond location and was offered an appointment for the following day at 5 p.m. Arrived at appointment time and suspected through side conversation of staff that they were not excited to perform an oil change at this appointed time (operating hours ends at 7pm). The service representative asked if I had a Firestone Credit Card and when I answered, "yes I have a card and it should be on file", another co-worker chimed in that if I did not apply within their location then it is not on file. They needed my credit card in order to charge the service. I produced the card and was not happy about this untrue statement because I know if they were about treating me like a valued customer, they could have easily contacted the credit card company or the Fairfield location for this information.
Also, while waiting more than an hour for the oil change, I observed the mechanic parking my car and returning back to the auto bay. I had to approach the counter to inquire about my vehicle because I was aware the work had been completed. To make matters worse, one of the staff made a comment about me being intimidating. WOW!!!! Because I am woman and I expect to be treated as a valued customer, I am intimidating.... Strongly rethinking any future business with Firestone.
I would like to add that maybe I was spoiled by Jay (Fredricksburg, VA Manager) and Carson (Quantico, Va Manager) and the staff of both these locations as they treated me with respect and never felt intimidated.

I want to give them 1 star for poor work but because they are nice I give them 2. On July 09, 2014, I took my car to Firestone on Patton Avenue located in West Asheville because the right rear tire was making a rubbing noise. They were busy and thought it was a brake issue, they sent me to their other Firestone located on Tunnel Road near Greyhound Bus Station. The right rear tire was loose and needed a wheel hub. Firestone stated they needed to order the part for my Suzuki Aerio. It should have been fixed the same day but Firestone kept my car for 4 days from July 09, 10, 11 and 12. ** and ** ordered the wrong part. Everyday they had an excuse as to why my car was not ready. I had requested time off from work during the month of June so I could spend time with my family who lives in another state. Not only did they charge me nearly $400 dollars but I missed work that entire week and spending time with my family.
A few weeks later, on Sunday, August 17, 2014, the same problem resurfaced. The right rear tire begin making a rubbing noise. Because it was under warranty, I took the car to another Firestone located in Woodbridge, Virginia on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. The car is not drivable but I still owe a car payment to the dealer. When Firestone in Virginia took the back right tire off, the wheel hub fall apart, metal pieces and all. Today is September 1st and I still don't have my car back. It seems some malevolent person or force is desperate to control my time and outcome. I am requesting an internal investigation regarding this matter.

We had a work truck that started acting up. We could barely limp it over to the local Firestone shop. When they took a look, their opinion was that they may be able to do some work on the engine. It would probably cost just about $2000. They went over the estimate line by line. They did tell us that if they run into other problems, it could be more. They would call us first. Well... it ended up that we had a hole in the intake and a cracked head. The job was beyond their ability. They recommended a few engine shops. Nobody had a 4.6L or could get one for under $5K. So, we decided to buy another truck. Firestone was awesome in that they only charged us $116 for all the time and effort of putting that engine back together. It actually would still fire up and run. They let me keep the truck in their lot until I could get a tow truck to pick it up. I ended up donating the truck to charity. They had someone that had just done that a few weeks before and they had a recommendation. I had an awesome experience.

I took my car in for an oil change and came out with weeks' worth of headaches. I used a birthday coupon that included a tire rotation. When I came back after having to leave my car overnight for an oil change, I drove it home and noticed when I got up to about 60 mph my car would shake. So I called to have them look at it. I spoke with a girl at the front desk. She said I could come in on Thursday - that way I wouldn't have to leave my car overnight. On Thursday, I show up to have them look at my car and was told I do not have an appointment. I said I spoke with a girl on Tuesday and she said to just come in. She said "I'm the only girl who works here and I did not tell you that." I said I wanted to speak with a manager.
Then Ralph came out and I explained what had happened and the whole time the girl is beside him shaking her no. I told the girl to stop shaking her head and told the manager he should not allow her to just stand there acting like that. He said nothing. So then I started telling him what had happened and he goes directly to blaming the dealership. I told him, "It wasn't happening before I brought it in so you can't blame the dealership." He then said he will have to keep my car overnight. Then called the next day and said the tires were not balanced and they fixed but they didn't drive it because was raining so he couldn't promise it was fixed. It wasn't. Took it back again, told him still doing the same thing he said, "Well, you don't need new tires so it may be that the tires were rotated incorrectly by the dealership."
I again told him, "I have never had a problem until your business touch my car." I had to leave it overnight again. I then picked my car up Again. Then a few days later, my check engine light comes on so I call and speak with Ralph again and this time he's not really happy to hear from me. I told him I took my vehicle to get check out and they told me it was something to do with low oil pressure. He them raised his voice and said he's tired of this. I once again told him my car was running great until I brought to them. But this Time, I will not take my car back to them because it gets worse everyone I get it back and the way they speak to you make you afraid they're going to mess your car up deliberately. So now, I will have to pay for my car to be fixed for something they did.

I visited on three different occasions; all three time I had to come back. First they forgot to put in one of my tps sensors. Had to go back. Then when balancing the wheels after telling them the weight need to be positioned right or they will hit the brake calipers. They didn't listen and scratched up my calipers. Now my second visit for rotation and oil change Come to find out they only re-did the weights on the balance in the front. Left the other like they were. So again more scratches to my calipers and right back to have them fix it again. I was so mad. So I complained and was told they would make it right with a 30.00 voucher.
My third visit 5000 miles later another oil change and tire rotation. This time I spoke with Kevin and explained to him since my car left I have a slight shake at 65. He rebalanced them and confirmed they were not balanced correctly. Something about static balance. I thanked him and got ready to leave. I noticed my wheel lock was not back in the box. The tech was rude and swore he put it back. Guess where I found it, on my rear tire still on the lug. Now I was really angry. Kevin calmed me down and promised he would talk to his guys. Fine.
Today 8/20/14 I went to ask about warranty on the tires and was greeted by the rudest person I have ever met, same one from before. When questioning him about his attitude he told me I am lucky he is at work and representing Firestone otherwise I would have a problem. Then told me he knows where I live! Guess he was mad from last time, not sure. At that point I lost it and told him off. I wouldn't recommend going here for anything. Bunch of low life thugs and bullies. Well guess what, you can't bully me. They also try to sell you service you don't need, and if they don't like what you say may threaten you with bodily harm. What a crappy place.

On 04/10/2014, I brought my car to Firestone at 1801 NW 40th Avenue, Lauderhill, FL 33313, because when I pressed on the brakes it was making a squeaking noise. The Technician ** took my car, test drove it and said I needed rear brakes and my rotors shaved down. However, I told the technician my brakes were new I just had them replaced. He said he couldn't do the job unless I replaced them again. So I allowed him to do whatever it was necessary to fix the problem.
Now it's July 2014 three months later and my car is doing the same thing which is making the same squeaking noise when I press the brakes. This is the same problem I brought my car to Firestone in the first place for, back in April 2014. However, I brought my car there at 1:35pm on 7/31/14 and the service advisor ** told me there were three cars ahead of me. Then at 6:30pm I get a call from the advisor at Firestone stating they couldn't get to my car after 5 hours and can I leave it so I said No and then he said, "Can you hurry and come? We are closing in 20 minutes."
Firestone failed to fix my car then rush me at the last minute to pick up my car that was never fixed, which is very unprofessional. I should have received a call way before closing to give me ample time to make the decision whether I want to leave my car or pick it up. I picked up my car and took it to another shop and they fixed the problem that Firestone should have fixed back in April 2014. I wasted over $200 on this job with Firestone and will never use your services again at that location and maybe not at all in the future. I will also make a consumer complaint. I had to pay twice just to find out it was a simple Brake Drum that should have been replaced instead of my rear brakes back in April 2014 that were already new. Where do you find these inexperienced technicians? And how can I get a refund for a job never done?

After my first visit, the scheduled maintenance I requested wasn't done. Some things that were supposed to be done weren't and some things that weren't were. The car is low mileage car there, for I go by time, not mileage. It is 6 years old w/ 40,000 miles on it. Came mostly for my emissions/Inspection, as well as a new steering pump, mine was failing. Prices for these services also seemed quite high. They then told me the squeal from my brake was a bad caliper, unusual for a car my age and mileage. They said because of that I'll need 2 new calipers.
They put in new spark plugs, but the plug were the wrong model for the car. I got home, and by the time I pulled into my driveway, there was a lot of smoke coming from the engine compartment. I opened it up and the engine was covered and splashed with pools of oil. There is no way any of the mechanics didn't see that. I called, drove back the next day. They cleaned the engine and I was going to change the oil my self. They offered me a free change. Now after the visit, lots of issues still persist. The tire suddenly developed a small leak. There was a new noise coming from the right wheel. They never me alignment report. And sure enough the car wasn't driving true. Also I found a clip or some piece of the car left in the gutter under the windshield wipers. Please do no here. They are a mess!

I go in to get the battery checked, mind you I read to check battery "is FREE". They check the battery it's fine, I ask him for a print out of the voltage he just showed me because he said I needed a new alternator, $550.00.
I get my son's dad on the phone with the guy, my son's dad says "no, take it to the mechanic." So the Firestone guy charges me $26.00 to put a thing on my battery, to check it then he lies and tells me I need an alternator "to check battery was supposed to be FREE". I ask the Firestone guy if I can use the lifetime alignment on my new car, he says no so I spent $160.00 and never even used the service. He stated that my battery was extremely low and that it should last until the end of the summer.
What I find interesting I leave the building of Firestone, went home which is only 1.5 miles from my house. I didn't touch my car until later that evening. I started the car and went to Panera to get some tea. When I got back to my car it was completely dead and the car wouldn't start. I wasn't in the store no more than 15 minutes. I had no issue with my car until I took it to Firestone. I call the store manager. Dewayne was very protective of his crew member, wanted to project so call "educational lesson about battery life". I know from the last experience I had with Firestone same store I went got new tire the promotional stated free tire rotating. The tech came out and ask did I wanted them rotated and I said yes. They charge me $79.00 when it was suppose to be free. I didn't complain due to fact I was working 6 day a week and driving 2 hours to work.
I feel this store is starting to show sign of (upcharging and targeting women). Dewayne had every bit of immediately response of my complaint but in a way that was dumbing down the situation. He was trying to project an attitude of superior knowledge or demeanor over the phone nor was he listening to my complaint. When I say he had a response for everything he had immediately reply that want seem to be concerning me the most. If he and his tech think they can get away with upcharging and targeting a (Sale) toward woman or someone with little car knowledge. I will send this complaint to every site possible to make sure other people also complaint.
I feel this particular store tactic will catch up with them sooner or later and I am HOPING SOONER. They are especially targeting those with Firestone Credit limits. You have been Warn!!! The car at Panera didn't start until it was jump and it started right away. I made it home and cut the off and immediately tried to restart it - "car battery completely fail to start the car". I asked how long it would be and the desk clerk said 45 minutes so I handed over the keys and went for a walk. Came back in 45 minutes and the car had not been moved from the parking spot. I asked what was going on and the tech said, "I'll check," then went into the back room and never came out. I asked another person and they came back after 15 minutes and stated, "they were working on a car before yours and it would be taken in shortly."
They moved my car from the spot I parked it in to another by a bay door and left the car running. Another tech comes out hops in and grinds the starter then pulls the car out into traffic (they have a tiny lot) and almost gets hit. He then puts on the blinker and rolls back and forth in the right traffic lane for ten minutes. Cars honking like crazy because Northern Blvd is a busy street. Another mechanic then tells me it's going to be a while because they need to move a few more cars.
At this point 1/5 hours into my "stay" nothing had been done to the car except grinding the starter and almost getting hit. I went up to the mechanic "walking" my car in traffic and told him to give me the keys. He told me I had to ask in the office. I explained as rudely as I could that it would be in his best interest to remove himself from my vehicle. He got out and I drove 10 minutes down the road to Great Bear. He told me that I also needed a radiator flush. I was charged 34.99 for a new radiator hose. That was a little expensive but acceptable. I was then charged 63.00 to remove and replace said hose (2 clamps). Next I was charged 3.98 for 2 clamps. Not a big deal. 19.99 for the coolant flush, 25.00 for anti- freeze and then 52.00 labor for the flush. There was a pressure test given but then credited on the bill. My issue is this: I needed an upper radiator hose. I did not need a radiator flush on a 1996 Oldsmobile. I feel I was taken advantage of because I was broke down at this Firestone location.
I can understand 34.99 for the hose and maybe 30.00 for that labor. That would have been 64.99. But Firestone told me I needed a flush which cost me an extra 120.00 plus. I have used your company before and I understand you need to make money too. A blown heater hose ended up costing me 220.27. You tell me, is that what I can expect from Firestone? An inflated bill when I am in a time of distress. I am livid. I am a senior citizen and I was taken advantage of. I don't make a lot of money and I honestly feel ripped off, overcharged and abused... I am told that the employees are required to "find" work in order for their location to meet its expenses. Rear main seal job - not done correctly - still leaks. Hell, they ripped my AC wiring harness while doing that work. My REAL mechanic diagnosed that problem. Brought the vehicle back in for rear main seal... They said it was the oil pan now. Replaced oil pan gasket twice, then they said it was the rear main seal. Brought it back for rear main seal replacement (under warranty), they said it is only seeping and my manifold intake gasket is leaking and needs to be repaired. They do nothing but lie. I have spent thousands of dollars being screwed by them.
I will now begin the process of seeking a refund for rear main work and the current work of repairing my AC wiring harness. I have 4 cars that will at some point need service. Firestone has lost my business! They will only be allowed to perform the free tire rotations as I watch. I will suck up their labor with daily tire rotations if need be. Eventually they will get sick of me. What thieves!! Also forgot to mention that when the rear main seal was replaced, I picked the car up, drove a mile, heard loud noises and then a tie rod end flew out from under the car. WOW - what a coincidence!

Later that day, I was called by the manager who told me that they could not find the leak and that they recommend I take it somewhere else and get a second opinion.
This was very upsetting. Because they should have explained that using the dye was not a definite way to find the leak. This could have saved me the 49.00 dollars. They should have also explained that this type of work was beyond the skill level of their mechanics. This is the second time I use Firestone and have a bad experience.
In the first case, I took my Mercedes after problems with the electrical system and consequently the battery dying out, forced me to go to the nearest and only firestone operating on a Sunday. Soon after checking out my vehicle, I was told that they were sure that my alternator was the culprit. Taking their "professional" advice, I had the alternator replaced and drove back from Houston to my hometown of Laredo, Tx .
That drive was a total nightmare as the car died out on me several times, the lights were erratic and the speedometer became non functional. Needless to say, the 400.00 alternator was not the cause. I have reached the conclusion that Firestone mechanics are not qualified to do work beyond oil changes and tire service.

I took my vehicle to another brake service center (not Firestone) and this is what they wrote on the no-cost inspection sheet: "checked front brakes....found no problem". They verbally told me that although, they would love to have my business, there was nothing wrong with my brakes and nothing needed to be replaced. You can draw your own conclusions from this....but as for me, I won't ever take my vehicle back to a Firestone Auto Center.

I have been a customer of Firestone for over 30 years. During this time I have witnessed your company change from a personal customer service oriented business, truly interested in serving its customers into revenue driven entity whose focus is to derive as much revenue from each customer visit. The end result is deficient customer service and a failure to listen to you customers needs. Last year I took my wife's 2006 Chrysler Sebring to the location on 4700 Preston Road, Frisco, Texas (Invoice **) because the battery in the car would not stay charged. I specifically asked them to check out the alternator and the battery to see what the problem was. They called and told me I needed a new battery, so I paid close to $200.00 for a new battery, and the additional charge for analysis.
Less than three days later the new battery was dead. I took the car back and again asked them to look at the problem. This time they said they couldn't find the problem. I took the car to a Chrysler dealer, and they analyzed the car and told me there was a bad component in the alternator, that was causing a back feed of current into the computer system. This led to circuits, not being closed out correctly when the car was shut off, thus draining the battery. They replaced the alternator and the car ran fine. No more dead battery. When I went back to Firestone, I spoke with **, the store manager, and I explained the situation, and informed him I wanted a refund for the battery because what Firestone told me was wrong, and I shouldn't have to pay for a battery I didn't need.
Mr. ** begrudgingly agreed to refund my money, but told me if you had wanted a more detailed analysis of your car that what they performed, it would have cost more. He also told me I would not have any warranty on the new battery since it was free. On Sunday February 22, 2014, I took my wife's car back to have the front right headlight bulb replaced at a cost of $47.00. Invoice number **, service advisor, ** and technician **. When I went to retrieve the car, the car would not start as the battery was dead. I went inside to get help; another employee came out with a charger. When we opened the hood we discovered sitting on top of the engine: 1. a large flat head screwdriver, 2. the old light bulb that had been removed, 3. the box the new light bulb came in.
The employee with the charger said the technician had left the lights on, that was why my battery was dead. He also made the comment that somebody was going to get an ** chewing for leaving that stuff under the hood, no apology, nothing. I guess I should be thankful he did leave the lights on because if I had driven the car and that screwdriver had fallen into the fan or other areas of the engine, thousands of dollars of damage could have resulted and I am sure Firestone would have denied any responsibility for the damages. So this is what I paid $47.00 for. When you charge rates that in some cases are higher than a dealer I expect professional work and level of customer service well above average. Firestone is missing the mark. If this is the best Firestone can do I will be ending my 30 year relationship.

On Monday, February 24, 2014, I brought my 2000 Chevy Impala in for an oil change. When I picked up my car, I noticed my wheels seemed looser and leaking coming from the under carriage of my car after a less than 5 minute drive on clear roads. It looked like antifreeze so I assumed that it was over filled when topping off during the oil change. I didn't worry about it at the time but I noticed that at every place I stopped, I was leaving puddles of antifreeze and oil spots. I had an oil leak before the oil change but it wasn't readily noticeable. Through burn off or leakage, it was never so much as that I'd notice between oil changes (less than a quart), but now, along with what I'm being told is a leaky radiator, the oil leak is even more defined. They say it's nothing that could've happened during the oil change and inspection, but when these things weren't wrong when I brought my car in and now they're wrong immediately after they serviced my car, I can't see that as just a coincidence. They're quoting me 2500 in repairs when before I left my car with them, I only need <500 in repairs because my outer tie rod ends needed replacing.
I went in for a simple oil change and now my car is legally considered totaled because the cost of the repairs are greater than that of the value of my vehicle. Of all the years that I've trusted Firestone for vehicle repairs and maintenance and after all of the people I've referred to Firestone, I'll never trust Firestone or any Firestone related car repair/maintenance company again. I drove 750 to 1000 miles almost every weekend and now after an oil change, I basically have to look into finding another car because I have to be cautious if I can even drive down the street.

I also asked the car service if I can bring my own part to be replaced and the representative said that if I want to bring my own part, I should repair my own car myself. I would like to know if the car service should have been honored my request of bringing my own part and not to rip me off sending me a $558 bill for a starter replacement. It got to 18 below in Greenwood, IN so I went to Firestone to have my coolant flushed because it was showing a reading on the cooling test that my coolant protection was only - 5 so they flushed it and said it was good to 40 below. 1 day later I have a major leak so I take it back and they charge me 25 dollars to pressure test the system and tell me the water pump went out so I left. I'm disabled now but I was a GM mechanic for 25 years and master ASE certified so I replaced the pump myself and still had a problem. They told me on the phone I was an idiot and that the gasket slipped when I put the pump on which it cannot do that because the timing cover is studded to hold the gasket in place.
Anyway they told me to bring it back and charged me again to pressure test it and tell me it's a diff. problem, a pipe and hose at rear of timing cover so I spent inc them $300 in parts and labor and have the same problem. They talked to me like I was an idiot and that burned my ass. They don't even use the national flat rate manual. They have their own labor guide. Don't go to Greenwood IN Firestone. Oh yeah and when they did my flush, I watched the tech dump the flush kit in an oil drain bucket and he told his boss it wouldn't' fit in the radiator because it was full but I still had to pay for it. See they lied again, didn't even say sorry.

Firestone - Oxford, Alabama: I took my wife's car in for heating problems. (They had put a thermostat in it about 10 months ago and it was doing the same thing as before. No heat and dial would go from 1/4 warm to 3/4 warm and back - but no heat coming out into the vehicle.) They told me that they wouldn't charge me anything to check it out. I sat there for 3 1/2 hours before they even took it back. Fifteen minutes later, they bring me an estimate of $1500+. I know they check everything (tires, wipers, etc. ) and was expecting the add-ons. I asked the clerk - "What is the cost just to fix the heater problem?". He said that the radiator was leaking and the water pump was leaking, and they would have to flush the system. This was going to cost over $900. The rest was 2 tires, hoses and other odds and ends.
I'm not a mechanic but I do know some about engines. I had checked for leaks before I took it to them and saw none after 20 minutes of idling. A red flag went up! Being it was just a few days after Christmas, I told him that I didn't have the money right away and to print out a copy of the estimate and I'd be back. I have a friend that runs a garage (it was closed for the Holidays) and decided to wait and take it up to him in a couple days when he re-opened. I knew even if it was going to take a radiator and water pump, I would save at least a couple of hundred dollars. I took it to him and a couple of hours later his garage called and said it was ready. Total cost - $38. All that was wrong was it was a tad low on fluid, something about air in the system needing bled off and it had a bad radiator cap.
I will "NEVER" allow Firestone to work on my vehicles again. $900 vs $38! Either the tech didn't have a clue about how to check the system (doubtful) or they were simply trying to "STEAL" my money (probable). If you do take your vehicle to them, like with a Doctor, GET A SECOND OPINION!!! Find an Honest mechanic... it's like winning the lottery. It saved me around $900.

My daughter goes to college in Weatherford, TX and I live in Gurnee, IL. My daughter had bought a so called new battery 7/20/2011 Invoice# **. Her car would not start on 1/7/14 so I figured there was a battery issue. We called the local Firestone to see if there was a warranty and based on time there was some sort of prorated credit. We had the car towed there and they began to tell me that they would have to do some sort of test. It started at $24.99 and then they said it would be $79.99. They called back and said I would need a battery first because they are unable to do the test because the car for sure needed a new battery but there was indeed a problem but could not determine that since the car would not stay on a needed the new battery.
They quoted me at $95 and that was with the proration. I asked how can that be when the last battery I bought cost $90 after installation. They said the battery was $110 and that's all they had for me. I just purchased a battery for my 2010 Acura TL for $90 so not sure how a 2001 Accord can be $110. I told them I would have the car towed if they can't do better on the battery. They said they could not so I called another local place and they had a battery equal to the purchase price I originally bought. So I set it up that my car would be towed to that place. So Firestone called me back and said I still needed to pay the $79.99 even though they specifically told me they could not test it since the car would not stay on.
In 2 different ways Brandon told me they did not do test and was not able to complete test because the needing of a new battery. He also told me there was definitely something causing the draw on the battery but they need the car to stay on to determine that. I then spoke to the mechanic at the other shop. The only issue was the battery. There was nothing wrong with the car except the battery. I told him that I bought battery from Firestone 2.5 years ago and he told me that battery looks way older than 2.5 years and the issue was there was a hole in the battery. After discussing there is no way to prove that I was sold a used battery so I really can't go anywhere with that.
My problem is being charged $79.99 for NOTHING being done! 10 years ago I was ripped off by the Gurnee, IL Firestone and now this is happening in Texas. I swore I would never go back but when you have a vulnerable daughter 1000 miles away you are limited on what you can or can't do. I did not authorize a $79.99 charge on my credit card for no work to be done. I will be telling anyone and everyone through social media. My daughter will do the same. How Firestone stays in business is amazing to me. I will never ever go back to a Firestone and never ever purchase or own Firestone parts or tires or ANYTHING. When I go to buy a new car and if there are Firestone tires I promise I will demand for those tires to be changed or I will not purchase the car. I am DONE for the rest of my life with Firestone.

We took our truck to the local Firestone dealer in Pelham AL on Saturday 1/4/14 for a vehicle inspection. The estimate was about $1000 in parts and the rest labor with an alignment charge of $79.99 ($200 to pull the Pittman arm - held on by one nut & a little compression). I called a local retail parts store and my cost of the parts was around $220.
I know they are in business to make money but this kind of parts mark up and labor rate seems indecent and unreasonable. I would hate to know they are preying on anyone especially those who do not know enough to ask questions. As humans we want to trust others but beware. There are those who do take advantage of others. Situations like this give the whole industry a bad name.

I asked if they could put the tires on the car so I could take it to my mechanic. The total estimate of the repairs they said were critical amounted to just $50 under my new Firestone credit limit. I had new tires and a battery installed on my 2010 Nissan and the work was completed to my satisfaction. While at the store, I was encouraged to take part in the free 6 months financing and the rebate program. As it turned out, the experience was a disaster. I had to make several phone calls and several visits to the store which was an inconvenience. Finally last night, I was on the phone with the credit Dept. and had found out that my sales rep had keyed in the incorrect information which had caused me not to receive my credit bill and that my card had been lost. I was so angry I decided to completely pay off my bill over the phone.
When I went to pick up the car, I was told that it needed a front end alignment and that the sales guy was suppose to discount the bill 10% instead of the 5%. The frustration is that one person said one thing and someone else said something completely different. Also the price that was quoted over the phone did not match up to the price I was told in the store and had ended up paying more than I was originally told. It is very unlikely that I will ever return to Firestone. At least for the Bridgestone tires I was impressed with the quiet ride my car had as I drove it to Grant City, MO last Sunday.

I have spent thousands on repairs in the past few years at Firestone. I assumed they were honest, but I found out otherwise. Check engine light had been on for a few days in my son's car while the car was being driven. He took the car by a Firestone to get it checked out, and they could find nothing wrong with the car. He drove the car back home. Two days later, he had to leave his car at work and have his car towed to another Firestone closer to us. Check engine light was still on but now the car would not start. They claimed to run a diagnostic costing 80.00, then phoned him and told him his fuel pump was bad and that the cost for labor and the pump would be around 900.00. I told him to get a second opinion.
We then had the car towed to another repair shop in which the owner of the shop ran a diagnostic also. No codes about the fuel pump showed up, but that there was low voltage. He looked at the battery cables and saw that one was frayed and corroded. He fixed the cable, started the car, no check engine light anymore and the car ran fine! He also checked the fuel pressure on the fuel pump and it was fine also. He told us nothing was wrong with the pump. Two days later the car is still running good!! Did not charge one penny!! Very honest shop.
I feel like the only answer to this is that the second Firestone store blatantly lied about the fuel pump. And either they never did a diagnostic (charged me for one) or they did and just lied about the results so they could make 900.00 and only repair the battery cable like the repair shop that fixed it did. Shame on this company! Taking advantage of people in this poor economy and during holiday season too?! I am so disgusted by them. I will never ever take any of my cars to them ever again. (Keep in mind that the first Firestone he took it too said they couldn't find any problems). Harvey Firestone would roll over in his grave. His motto "I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business."

Luckily she was able to get over to the shoulder. When she finally got the car to stop, the front tire fell off. Had car towed to nearest station (NOT FIRESTONE!). Mechanic said that the cotter pins were not present and neither was the bolt for the tie rod. Called Firestone and they told us that they would take care of the cost and that they were relieved no one was hurt.
Second phone call and they wanted us to have the car towed to the nearest Firestone for service. Not a good option as far as we were concerned. Third call was made by the mechanic of the garage the car had been towed. We do not live in York and this was the very first time we had been to this garage. The mechanic did not know us until this morning. He got on the phone and wanted to know what kind of incompetent idiot worked on our car. Firestone started back-pedaling and claimed it was a freak accident. The mechanic told the Firestone manager that it was neglect, pure and simple. You can't leave off parts, period! I own a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer and have been having problems with the engine power for the last few weeks. Last week it stalled out on me and was difficult to restart. I brought it to my local Firestone Service Center (store #23779 6620 S Westnedge Ave Portage, MI 49002-3553) not because I really wanted to, but because I have credit there. I waited over 10 hours for them to tell me that the rotor and distributor cap had to be replaced, to the tune of ~$290 (including their diagnostic). I picked it up the next day, and it started right up. I got about 1 mile down the road and the engine died, would not restart. Tow truck came. He took a quick look at it and told me most likely my fuel pump died on me.
Towed back to Firestone and waited the rest of the afternoon and most of the next morning for them to determine that indeed the fuel pump is bad. When I first brought it back the CSR told me that the pump alone would be close to $600! When I got back home I checked all the major parts stores in town and the pumps range from $250-350 tops. I was also told that the fuel filler neck had to be replaced as it was crumbling when they tried to remove it. However, that part is discontinued and it will take 3-5 days to get one in. I guess I can understand that the part is not available locally, but they are really going to make me wait 3-5 for standard ground shipping when I'm already looking at over $1200 in repairs?
I also went back to the garage today to get something out of my truck (the number I have to call to report an absence at my job, since I don't have a vehicle) and saw the pump they were going to put in, an Airtex model #J-E3954M, which retails for $310 at your local Autozone. The only reason I would recommend anyone going to Firestone is to have them look your vehicle over, because they are sure to tell you what's wrong with it and then some. Then buy yourself a Hayne's manual and a tool set and do what you can yourself. If you can't do it yourself take it to a locally owned repair shop and have them do the work. They actually care about customer satisfaction since they rely on repeat business and not suckers coming into the store.
Hi John,

I have always taken my truck to a well known retailer for service, for the last 4-5 years. So when my 2003 Chevy Tahoe (177,000 miles) began to leak, I took it to them. They advised they located the leak and replaced a rear transmission seal in 08/2013. It began to leak again 09/2013. I took it back. They advised that the oil pan was not put on correctly on my previous oil change and that is what was leaking. Now October 2013 my Tahoe is making a loud noise every time I push on my accelerator. I take it to them next day and don't drive it other than to the place of business. Explain the noise to them, leave my truck there 8:30 am. They call me to pick it up at 1:00 pm saying that they can't duplicate the noise and they could not find anything wrong with my Tahoe.
Not even a hour later from picking my kids up from school, I am stranded and my Tahoe's engine is running but not moving as I am trying to accelerate it. At this point, after towing my truck home, I use a word-of-mouth mechanic to come look at my truck. He starts my truck, tries to drive, lifts the hood, checks the oil. At this point, my truck is smoking and he pulls my dipstick and my oil is black and muddy. My Tahoe is now broken down, needing a new transmission. I have filed a claim with them. Who has refused responsibility.
Every year, I do all recommended work by them. This isn't the first problem I have had with them. But remained a loyal customer. Because they gave me 3 months' worth of free oil changes and half off 4 tires. But now I'm being told that a not even new transmission will be $900 plus labor $500-$600 from the word-of-mouth mechanic. I believe I didn't have to replace transmission or do engine work until I was at 200,000-225,000 miles which that I could have planned for. Ultimately because of their high turnover in mechanics and the long hours and minimum wage they give their employees. Ultimately it this is a costly mistake that I am stuck with paying. After thousands of dollars I have paid to them and investing in maintaining my vehicle. Be wary and conscious of the trust and money you pay for their work.

Firestone in Irving, TX (MacArthur) recommended that I have my transmission flushed on 2006 Lexus GS 300. I later found out that 06 Lexus and newer models have World Transmission that should last for the period of vehicle's life. My point is not whether the transmission oil lasts forever or it doesn't; however, why was the service recommended when it isn't recommended by the manufacturer? Even Firestone's Scheduled maintenance does not support any documentation of including Transmission fluid check up.
Dealing with Customer service was okay; however, District and Claim department was an impossible task to deal with. It sounded as if Firestone/Bridgestone is only interested on their objective, not the customer's interest. Here is the mail I submitted to Firestone via their websites and certified mail today. I hope someone with right mind gets back with us to work on a solution.
“I hope this email finds you well. My 2006 Lexus GS300 had numerous services done via Firestone and I am completely dissatisfied by it. Major issue I am having is with my transmission. Lexus carries World Transmission that does not need a FLUSH nor CHANGE during the duration of the car’s life. Due to lack of Service Manager’s knowledge, Firestone suggested that I get a transmission flush promising that it would definitely help the cars performance. Customers pay money to have their cars serviced by Firestone because we trust the knowledge of the advisors. This manager and/or advisor suggested and recommended a service that is not required by the manufacturer with lack of knowledge.
According to Lexus dealers, Lexus dealers are the only ones with machines that have capability to do the transmission oil change and flush accurately. Not because of their expertise, but due to the machine that indicates the exact temperature and the exact amount of fluid that needs to be filled. With this knowledge I called the Firestone and asked them to provide what method was used to determine the correct transmission flush was done. Here is the answer that I received. Firestone has its own machine that measures the amount of fluid that is taken out and we put back in the exact amount that was originally taken out. This process is important due to my Lexus not having a transmission oil dipstick under the hood. Not having the right amount of oil would have damaged the transmission over period of time.
After having my transmission flushed, I took it back to the shop twice to have it looked at due to rough shifting and slipping. The shop advised that this would go away with time. Only thing that went away was my oil - it is burnt to point of black. I took it back to Firestone at least twice due to the concern and to prevent from bigger issues. Firestone’s customer service has been excellent but District and Claims have not tried to cooperate with its customer only focused on their objective.
Below are the documentation that I need from Firestone.
1. Check with manufacturer and provide documentation that states Versatrans EA63/GL1706 Transmission fluid is recommended by Lexus. 2. Provide Firestone's process documentation of Transmission Fluid flush for Lexus that was done that date and/or current process. 3. Firestone’s websites recommended maintenance link does not support any documentation of Transmission Fluid maintenance check for its recommended maintenance. Please provide a documentation why it was recommended even when it’s not recommended by LEXUS or Firestone.
Below are the services that I had issues with Firestone.
1. Brakes replaced however squeak noise has lasted 2 years. Have been taken back to Firestone multiple times only to be told it will go away or could not duplicate the issue. 2. All 4 tires purchased along with warranty, all 4 tires ended up being defective and had them replaced from Firestone. 3. Transmission flush service being recommended while it is not recommended by manufacturer along with Firestones website not containing any Transmission Fluid Services on its Routine Maintenance List (Every 5-10K miles).
I am hoping that Firestone, myself and Lexus can work TOGETHER to insure all methods and material used were done under manufacturer’s recommendation. I think this is a good start point and it would save all parties the time and its credibility. Please provide feedback and documentations in writing so that our progress can be documented.”

I have been doing business at my neighborhood Firestone Service Center for several years. (It's the store on Monroe Rd behind the Galleria Shopping Center in Charlotte, North Carolina 28270.) I chose to go there because it was convenient to me and also because the Managers were attentive. I have purchased several of their premium branded tires as well as lifetime balancing, rotation and alignment. All in all, even if the service rendered has not always been spot on, the store always ended up making good the tire warranty and the miss-services that is always an occurrence with mechanical things. My main complaint is the lack of "Customer Service" and at times disrespect and lackadaisical attitude by the service attendants and the mechanics.
I am a very reasonable person and also one who is interested in the work to be performed on my car. One day, I go to the store and ask what the cooling system service entails. The man at the desk simply tells me that they flush and clean the cooling system and replace the cooling fluid. I asked what was the 'cleaning' part of the service; he did not know so he offers to ask one of the technicians. The first tech didn't know so he called this one technician and I asked him what kind of cleaner they use... He almost got into my face and blurted out that he is a "certified bla, bla, bla technician and not a ** chemist" and grabbed a packet with two bottles and shoved it into my face!
Anyway, I complained to the store assistant manager and the service attendant that the behavior was uncalled for but was wanting to get the service done. They told me that it would take a while before they could take me, but they said to come at 12:00 noon and they will do my car. I returned at 12:00 and was waiting for another hour and were doing other cars... I left. Well, I had been very patient with this store and even though I have had a number of complaints, I continued to go back to the store. However, recently, I have been treated unkindly maybe because I do expect to get the service I am paying for and do make them redo the job until it's done right. There are many stores in Charlotte that do cater to their customers. I will never go back to the above-mentioned store and will not recommend them to my friends or family.

Approximately two months ago, I took my wife's car for a new tire and upon completion, was told she needed new front brakes. The car was under warranty so I took it to the dealer, who inspected it and said the brakes were still good. When I took it back to the dealer, the manager inspected it again and said the mechanic made a mistake and meant that the back brakes were worn and would soon be in need of replacement. On August 26, 2013, I took my own car for a front end alignment and tire rotation. When the job was finished, I discovered that the tires were not even touched! When I spoke with the manager, he apologized and said that the mechanic overlooked doing the job.

This is about the Norwood, Ohio Firestone on Montgomery Road. They are always finding something else wrong with my car, work I do not need. So I bought new seasonal tires. Within a week, there was a bubble in the sidewall, the $75.00 to fix? I ran over a nail. They said it was too close to sidewall to fix. They went on to say I needed four new tires. My tires had about sixteen thousand miles on them. I questioned the need for new tires. They said I did not take care of them and they only had me down for one tire rotation. I have them rotate every 6-7 thousand miles in that store. While I was arguing with them, the manager came out and said they could not come to my house and drive my car for me. I had to leave. I thought this guy was going to fight me. So called their complaint department. They also tried to sell me four new tires. I will pay for my own rotations rather than free Firestone rotations and go to Tire Discounters from now on!

I needed a complete brake job, so for convenience I visited a Firestone Service Center. I was charged over $900.00 for the work. Recently I visited my Lincoln Service Center on an unrelated warranty issue. I was informed that my brakes squeak because of the aftermarket material that was used (I had gone to Firestone a few months after the brake job to correct the squeak). First off, how can you charge such a price for aftermarket material and secondly why wasn't I given the option of using original parts. I was under the impression that they were using original replacement parts considering the price I was charged. I am by no means an automotive genius but I am not an idiot either. This is no way to run an HONEST and REPUTABLE business. Goodbye, Firestone!!!

I bought many service but I do not go to there again. Never go to Firestone.

Let me start off by saying, I will never use Firestone again...ever. And now let me tell you why, I took my car in for an Oil Change... A month later and about 1600 miles, my car starts making a noise under the hood. I call them they tell me to come in and they will look at it. I put 2 quarts of oil in it to get it to the store. They changed my oil for free (well that was nice right). They checked for leaks, and nothing. They actually said I had one of the cleanest engines they have ever seen. I get in my car, start it and that noise is still there, only a lot louder.
At that point, I asked the store manager if that is normal. He says, “Oh yeah, I have heard cars make that noise up to 300k miles after an oil change. My car only has about 100k miles so I leave to go to work. On the way to work, my car spins 2 bearings!!! I called them and after asking a bit of deliberation and asking for their home office number they decide to tow my car there and look at it. They get it there, and then tell me that they can’t do anything and that they have to get their claims department involved and I should get a phone call in 2 - 3 days. 2 and a half weeks later, I ended up having to go the Firestone and just so happened the district manager was there and I talked to him. He informed me that he was watching my claim closely because if it was something that they had to pay for it was going to hit his wallet... REALLY?!?
You blew up my car and you’re talking to me about your bonuses?!? Oddly enough I get a call that night from Firestone. They are having my car sent to a mechanic. The mechanic called me to make sure he had all the details straight. They told the mechanic that the car had 3 1/2 quarts of oil in it when it was brought in, failing to mention that I added 2 quarts, and they added 500 miles to the distance from the oil change (Sketchy? I think so too). The first mechanic says there was no sign at all of leaks, no sign of the car burning oil... from everything he could see he ruled that the car’s oil level was left low at the oil change. That wasn't what Firestone wanted to hear obviously... So they send someone else.
He tells the guys at the shop that he pretty much agreed with what they found, but I thought to be on the safe said I would have someone else look at my car as well. I had another mechanic go and look at it, he says the same thing, no leaks, and no sign what so ever it was burning oil and no carbon build up or sludge. Firestone gets the report back from the guy they sent and he says...There were no signs of leaks, and no sign of burning oil, but that the oil change Firestone did was a quality stand up job... Hmm... Well at that point I tell them, “Well, I suppose I will see you in court, file a complaint with the BBB, and leave a review of you everywhere it will let me on the internet. Oh well in that case if you can get us the assessment the other mechanics made of the car we may change our decision."
I get them those then they say, “Well we are not changing the decision of the claim. We just needed these letters in case we to go court...” REALLY!?! After calling the corporate office several times, leaving voicemails for several people, and never getting a call back, I called Consumer Affairs and they get corporate on the line and the guy was a complete jerk, rude and condescending. Believe his name was Keith or Kevin. It amazes me how poorly a corporation like this is being run. I’m filing a complaint with the BBB now and am filing a lawsuit against you tomorrow. Even if I do not win, word of mouth is the best or worst kind of advertising, and I will do everything possible to cost you as much business as possible, your customer service is a JOKE. And please don't give me the generic reply of email someone and we will get in touch with you. DO NOT USE FIRESTONE!

I received a coupon from a Giants receipts advertisement for oil changes at Firestone. I took my Nissan Maxima on June 20, 2013. The next day, my car was making a loud clicking sound. I did not know what it was. I had my car sitting for about a month because I did not have any money to fix it and a mechanic to come to the house to check it. My mother did find a mechanic that came by and checked the car, and he said, "The engine was messed up due to the overflow of oil." I immediately called Firestone and explained the problem. They did come by my house the next day. They did tow my car to Firestone.
I spoke to the manager, he did say that there was over a quart or so of oil in my engine! Firestone kept my car for a week. They did an inspection and decided they would deny my claim stating that there was an "oil leak". I could not believe the excuse they came up with. I did not have any problem with any "oil leaks". I immediately went outside were my car was parked for over a month and there was no "oil leak". Now I do not have any Transportation due to their employee negligence.

I took my 2005 Pontiac G6 to get a oil change and tires rotated and also an inspection. After the inspection I was told I need a rack and pinion, steering shaft, inner tie rod end, rear rotors and pads. The total cost came to over $2000. Well I declined all the required service except for the rotors and pads. This was a Sunday. The following Thursday I took my car in to get the rotors and pads replace after I heard squealing noise coming from brakes. So rear rotors, pads and brake fluid flush came to $387. Upon that time I was never told that anything else was wrong with my brakes.
Well that very day driving back home I can smell the brakes which is normal when new pads are installed. Well the next day the same smell is coming out but only on the right rear brakes, so I checked it and the right rear brakes had brakes fluid all over my rim and tire and also on the caliper. So I took the car back on Saturday. Now keep in mind this is three days after I had them replaced my rear rotors and pads and my calipers were perfectly fine. Anyways when they inspected my brakes to no surprise they told me that me right caliper is locked up and I need a new one which will cost me $277. So here I am debating back and forth with the shop manager on how my caliper can go bad within 2 days of installing new rotors and pads. And they never said anything before about the caliper going bad.
Well with much debate I decided to get that right rear caliper replace, fearing that I would damage the brand new rotor on there. Well we negotiated and I got the price down to $194.95 labor, parts and taxes incl. These people are scam artist! They break stuff on your car to keep you coming back to spend money on unnecessary services. And thanks to them my runs like crap after the oil change, my engine has an erratic idle, my alignment is off and my steering has play on it clunking noises coming from it. My car used to run smooth until I had it serviced by Firestone. Do not take your car here!

Beware, I brought my Honda here for a brake job and all they needed to do was machine some calipers because they were warped. What ended up happening is they hung parts from the brakes on the caliper hose on the front brakes and damaged the hose and caliper. I drove on this for 2 weeks not knowing and brake lights came on alerting me of a problem. I brought it immediately to a Honda dealership and it cost $350 to repair a broken leaking brake hose and repair the caliper and bleed the system. I filed a claim with Firestone Corporate and now they are paying for the damage and rental I incurred.
I called here to report this and the manager wanted to tow my car to another Firestone to repair it?? Why would I get these guys to ever work on any car I owned again? Plus he mentioned this happens as this is nowhere to place the brake parts and they sometimes hang them on the caliper hoses? Outrageous and something to be careful of if you ever do business with this company.

Just want to share some bad service concerning Firestone Service Center 755 State Route 18, East Brunswick, NJ 08816-4916. I had a tie rod repair done on a 2005 Ford Escape and few months later ABS light came on. I went to a local repair shop since I was traveling and unable to go to Firestone. ABS light was repaired and I was told the tie rod also needed replacing. I was asked if I recently had the tie rod repaired because it looked new. I said yes and was told the reason it needed repair again is because when the repair was done, the tie rod was not greased. Thanks for making me do a repair twice Firestone. I would think greasing a tie rod would be basic car mechanics 101.
I went to the same Firestone to have a tire that I bought at Firestone looked at since it looked to be going flat. I waited for the tire repair for 2 1/2 hours and was told a nail was removed. Next day the same tire is flat again. I went back to my regular repair center (not Firestone) and a 16-year-old teenager found a 3-inch nail in the tire. My car was repaired in 15 minutes. A 16-year-old can find a 3” nail in a tire and a slew of mechanics at Firestone couldn't.
You are Firestone Tires for God’s sake. Your business is tires! Thanks for again wasting my time. Where are the work ethics at Firestone? I have spent thousands of dollars at Firestone the last couple of years. Now I wonder if any of the repairs are even safe or were they even done! I cannot even feel safe in my own car anymore - thanks to Firestone. I will never go to another Firestone again. I have already cut my Firestone credit card in 1/2. Take some pride in the Firestone name and hire some competent people. Firestone, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee for sale on the lemon lot on Maxwell AFB. It is in good shape and has 156k miles. I had a buyer (from Australia and happened to be stationed at Maxwell AFB on Temporary Duty) and he wanted to take it to get it inspected. I had no problems with that because I kept the Jeep maintained. An hour later, we got an estimate for almost $2,500. Items listed that they suggested to be replaced were the battery (bad), alternator (faulty), brakes, rotors (worn and grooved), shocks (leaking), and the valve cover gasket (leaking bad). Well, of course, the buyer backed out immediately. We had agreed upon a selling price of $4,000.
I took the Jeep to another garage the very next day and explained to them I was selling my Jeep and wanted to make sure that it was in good condition prior to selling it. About two hours later, they finished and the grand total to fix it was $75.00. When I informed the mechanic of what Firestone had told me about my Jeep, he actually laughed! I pointedly asked him about the items that Firestone had listed on my report. He informed me my battery was fine, the alternator was fine, heck everything was fine... My shocks weren't leaking and my valve cover gasket was not either. What was leaking, and would cost a measly $75 to fix was the oil filter housing. Firestone has cost me $4,000. FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!

I had brakes put on in June of 2012. On my way home, the brakes were grinding and appeared to be sticking. I drove the car in the morning to the nearest Firestone with my papers. While checking in, the man said my brakes should be lasting longer than 11 months. Once called, the manager Bob was explaining the work. He was telling me that the car was in trouble, the brakes were gone and the brake caliper was stuck. They had to be replaced along with the rotors, and that it would not be ready until next Wednesday. That's 5 days from now.
He was laughing when I was asking him to explain the parts and that could he just replace the brakes with the caliper. I would take it to the other Firestone that I normally use. He said that was incomplete work and was laughing about when I asked him again the parts so I could see if they could be obtained somewhere faster than Wednesday. I asked him several times what was so funny. He said that I was not obviously comfortable with them fixing the car and he would have it towed. I told him I didn't find anything funny about this.
For one, the brakes should not be gone and if they were still there it would not have done damage to my brake caliper or rotors. I called the Firestone near Mary Washington Hospital, the one I normally go to, and asked to have an area manager contact me. He called the other facility and said to contact Consumer Affairs.

Thanks to Jimmy's thorough inspection of my vehicle, he found that I had some other pretty major issues with my car that needed to be fixed immediately. They were able to fit me in for the major project right away. Jimmy worked tirelessly for over 8 hours in 90 degree heat (the garage wasn't air conditioned), to repair my car and to make it operable and safe to drive. Jimmy is a dedicated and hard-working mechanic. There was an important part that was jammed and to replace it would have taken over a week to wait for the part from the dealer. Through Jimmy's dedicated effort and his precision as a skilled mechanic, he was able to fix it and he saved the day!
Bruce and Jimmy had a great attitude and they kept me informed about my car throughout the whole process. They were professional, courteous, and accommodating in every way. They went the extra mile to see that my car was properly repaired and that I left there with a safe and properly maintained vehicle. I will continue to go to Bruce and Jimmy at the Coddingtown Center for all of my car needs and I will tell everyone I know that you can put your trust and the safety of your car in the hands of these capable professionals.

I had issues (grinding noises and clicking). On the 2nd visit on 5/1/13, I was still having the same issues - they replaced the brake pads (2nd time). I contacted Management to advise and they offered no other alternative as to why this was happening (not sure why is the answer I got). First, I was told to continue to drive and break the brakes in for a week or so and call back if I experience the same problems so I gave Firestone the benefit of the doubt and did that for 1 week. After a few days, I contacted Firestone again on 5/10/13 to speak to Manager **, again to advise the same issue and he was not available.
I requested return call to no avail; there was no return call, no updates or anything of alternatives to my brake issues. Finally, I contacted general store manager, **, on 5/11/13 and explained to him what was happening. At this point, I told them I wanted them to take my car to the dealer. He obliged and stated they would pay for a rental car. I told him good, because I was not paying for anything; I've already paid for the service. On 5/13/13 at Firestone, I test drove with service tech **. He already had a bad attitude that I was complaining about the so-called job. He did explain that what I was experiencing; he wanted to tell me about his new 2013 vehicle where he sometimes hears noises (which has nothing to do with my car issue which is a 2010, not old, very good condition).
This same service tech had to drive me to the rental car center and before we were to take off, I simply asked if he knew that the manager had taken care of the rental car expense. His response was, "I do not know. I'm just dropping you off (really!)" So he was right; he just dropped me off and left curbside service. The point is there was no rental car. I am not providing my credit card to put a $300 hold for something that is and has been an inconvenience to me since 4/25/2013.
Get it together, Firestone! I had to call him again to come and pick me up again. The manager did nothing. Overall Customer service here is awful! Never will I come back here or refer anyone to this location. I can see why they have bad consumer reviews. Terrible!

We brought our vehicle in for brake inspection with a coupon Firestone had for free of charge with the oil change, which was done and they said everything was fine, so now we're bringing vehicle in for bushing due to the squeaking sounds and they gave me an estimate of $1800 when that was not what I needed. But since they said that I stated to them, "Well, you said the truck was fine. You didn't see that the first time," he pulled the invoice and said that it was an oversight on their part but he did adjust it and it broke. So we only had to pay half for all the service for the brakes. I was initially coming up there to pay for the bushing but they never fixed them so I gave the keys back.
Later on that night, we came by to see our truck; it was outside and unlocked. This was 12 am. The next day, we went to Firestone. To make a long story short, they do not fix what you tell them; they fix other things and then lie to you and say they did it and forge invoices when you're out of town and the district manager is no help. They also ask you to call corporate and ask you to retract your statements and they would fix your car. Really?! Where do they do that? It's only at Firestone.

After speaking to several mechanics, they said lack of oil caused the piston and barring to lose compression, which caused my motor to seize. They tossed their hands in the air claiming they had no idea what I was talking about. My car had to be towed out of their shop and I now have a car that doesn't run. I have this all documented: who I spoke to and on what day. Oh, and their claims department is a bigger joke than Firestone themselves. They are dumber than a box of rocks! And apparently, don't mind screwing people over, all the way up to the district manager Ron or Don.

I had my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country in to Firestone Complete Auto Care for an oil change. They did an inspection of tires, battery, belt, under van, etc., as a courtesy check. After their check, the service advisor called me up to the desk. He went on to tell me that my inner tie rod ends (left and right) were bad on the van and said, "You should have them replaced ASAP. If they break, you will need to be towed." I asked what the cost was. He printed a "recommended services not authorized by customer" paper as follows: Replace both inner tie rod ends R&L and alignment recommended parts - $143.98; Labor - $286.79; Subtotal - $430.77; Shop Supplies - $17.21; Tax 7% - $31.36; Grand Total - $479.34.
I said no to the repairs, left, and went right to the garage that does my state inspections. I told my repair person and he pulled my van right in and put it on a lift. He went under the van with a shop light and a 2nd service person, and after they looked and did what they had to do, called me over to show me and tell me that my inner tie rods were not bad. Best of all, they're not even going bad. "They were just trying to make money on you."

I took my 2010 Kia Soul to your Stevens Mill, Matthews, NC location to get an estimate to have my headlight bulb replaced. The lady at the counter looked up what I needed and quoted me a price of $18.00 for the bulb and $57.00 labor. She said it would be $75.00 total. I told her I would go somewhere else because your labor charge was ridiculous. She said that was a fixed statewide charge. I left your store, drove to Auto Zone, purchased a bulb for $10.99 and they installed it for free! I’m so glad I didn't let Firestone rip me off.

I took my Corvette in for check up on the check engine light and the service tire monitor light. While it was there, I asked to have shocks put on; they were $99.00. They replaced my serpentine belt, which was new, and the bill was$1,180.00. I came home, and the check engine light and the tire monitor light both came back on; so I took it back.
Then, they said my air injection pump, two belt tensioners, gas pedals, air compressor drive belt, crank shaft pulley, and vibration damper were all bad. None of these things were wrong with my car; it ran great. That bill was $2,585.10, and they had to replace my serpentine belt again. Then, on Route 2, I was forced off the road onto some very wet marsh, and I told them about it when I took my car back for the check engine light. The tire light was still on, and they said that I should report it to my insurance company. I don’t know what was wrong with my car, which was otherwise fine. They gave me my car back, and it kept cutting off; the steering column light would come on, and the car would cut off. This is all right after getting this enormous $2,500.00 bill. I called Chevy, and they said they had a recall on that; I would need a $35.00 steering bypass kit.
Well, they already had my insurance agent there and told him my car was in 3 feet of water; it was not. A mentor Ohio police officer was there and saw me with my car door open, and a Corvette sits 8 inches off the ground. The old tow truck driver was pissed because he had to lay in 2 days of rain and mud to hook up my car. I can’t help it if he didn’t go to school and decided to drive a lake county auto tow truck. They still could not figure out why my car was cutting off. It was because the steering column needed a bypass kit, but they replaced my computer and my BCM instead for $1,599.00. They said there was a hairline crack in my front bumper; i could not see it, but my insurance agent told them to have it replaced. Well, this a Corvette with only 60k miles on it.
After I got it back, I broke my foot so it sat in my garage for 3 months. A neighbor was walking up my driveway and said, “Why is your rubber under the bumper hanging down, and your fog light is also hanging down?” By the way, my insurance agent made me pay $1,800.00 of the repairs because some of these things happen to Corvettes. Well, they didn’t happen to mine so Grange Insurance Company got me for only $2,000.00, and yet they still put on another serpentine belt altogether. I also noticed a broken knob on my interior lights; they said they ordered it twice, but they told me they would have to buy the whole kit for $120.00 to get the knob and didn’t want to spend the money.
I’ve never been ripped off by anyone in my 60 years of age. Even a Corvette shop told me to get out of there, but my insurance man would not let me. I have been a good customer after 10 years of payments. Don’t buy Grange Insurance ever. Now, I want my car fixed properly. I talked to Steve who said he’ll bring it up and put it in the body shop because my mechanic is on vacation. They only had one mechanic; no wonder their work is rushed and parts are falling off the car. Well, it’s been 3 days and my Corvette is still up there at Concord Firestone sitting in the snow. I’m pissed to no extent, and I’m suing for sure. Even Conrad’s said that whoever worked on your car last did a sloppy job; clips broken on the dash cover, screws were falling out, and even wrong screws were put back in.

I took my 2004 Acura TL to get 4 brand new tires at Firestone on 3534 S. 27th in Milwaukee WI. They told me I had a bad ball joint on the right passenger side. I told them to go ahead with the repair and to order the part. They told me the part came in which was a Friday. Later in the day, they called me and said the company they ordered the part from had sent them the wrong part. Firestone said they would get the right part in on Saturday and they would call me to keep me informed.
All day, there was no call so I called them and they said it didn't come in yet. Again, they said they would call me tomorrow which would be a Sunday when it come in. All day and still no call so I called them again. Keep in mind, it has been 3 days that I have no car to go anywhere. At this point, I was pretty pissed so I told them I don't want them to do the service anymore. Then they told me when they took out the old ball joint they had to force it out so there was no way to put it back in. Now, I was very steaming, and because they know this, they said they would give me a discount. Finally, they got the part and fixed it on Monday, 3 days later! My bill was $200 and my so-called discount was $20 off my bill, too funny, right! Plus my tires, I spent over $1,000 there!
On top of that, 2 days after they put the ball joint in, I heard noise coming from that section while driving. I took it back for them to look at it and I waited an hour before they took it in. Five minutes later, they came out telling me there was a pan loose underneath there and they tightened it up. The noise went away for 2 days and came right back. Now it's a different noise so I'm debating if I even want to take it back to them because, obviously, they don't know what they're doing. They even told me because it being an Acura, it's harder to do the ball joint. They also say that it would have been easier if it was a Honda. What a joke!
I can tell you this much. I would never take my car there for any mechanical service. I also will pass this horrible experience down to anyone I meet! Unfortunately I did buy a lifetime alignment so I have to go there for that.

This is about Firestone Complete Auto Care - 7844 KingLand Dr. West Chester, Ohio 45069! Well, I bought a new 2007 Ion which had Firestone tires. About 2 years in and about 17,000 miles later, the tires were dry rotted. So I took it back to the dealer. They said I had to go to Firestone to get the tires replaced. Then Firestone said I had to go to the dealer to get new tires. Anyway, it went back and forth for a while. Finally, Firestone said they will give me some tires, only half off.
So I did and then they scratched my alloy wheels. So we went back and forth about that. They tried to deny they did it when I have not even driven off the lot yet. Well then, they said they will used Mr. Clean sponge on them so they did which took 2 hours; the scratches were still there. The manager said that is all they will do. So I wrote a bad review about that. Then I had a nail in my tire, went back. They scratched my alloys again. One of the guys there said, "Sorry, we will have it fixed for you." Well, the manager again said, "No, we will use the sponge again," like they think this sponge removes scratches which it does not.
Well, when they replaced my tires the first time, they found my ball joint was bad on the driver's side. So I said to go ahead and replace it, because I was already there. That was like almost 600 dollars. Here it is, only a year and half later, and I was getting my oil changed at Subaru, which used to be Saturn and has done all my oil changes and checkups since I bought the car. They just found the ball joint busted and bad on the driver's side, which they said had been replaced. So they said, "We can fix it or you can take it back to who fixed it before." Well, I said, "Firestone fixed it and they said it had a lifetime warranty so I will go back to them."
So I did; the manager kept saying, "Are you sure they meant the right side?" I said, "No, they said the left side, and I will call them again to make sure." I did and they said, "No, the left side the side that was replaced." So Firestone said, "Okay, we will fix it tomorrow." Well, here it is tomorrow. I take it up there. A couple of hours later, they called me, "The ball joint on the left side is not bad, but the right side needs an arm bushing; it is bad." So they're messed up on which side they are talking about. I said, "No, get my car out of there."
So I went there and I said, "You call Subaru and you tell them." The conversation with Firestone was funny by the way, they were asking Subaru, if they know the right side from the left. Well anyway, I took it back to Subaru and they checked it again, and they said that they can't believe they couldn't see the ball joint is bad. Now, on the right side, they found the arm bushing bad, which was not just two days before when I took it in there. What is funny is that two days ago, on my right side, there was nothing wrong, but now there is. So I took it to another car place to have a third opinion and they said both the ball joint on the left side was bad and the right arm bushing is bad.
So Firestone is saying their ball joint is good and only the right side is bad. In other words, people, Firestone is lying about the ball joint and did something to my arm bushing on the other side to collect more money! By the way, Firestone, the ball joint is bad! And the kicker is, the ball joint that they told me had a lifetime warranty, they won't fix it. They created something else wrong with the car. So If people keep going to them, they will continue to rip people off and ruin their cars! They are a joke and I will never go there again. I just wish someone had the power to stop this or at least investigate. I'm a very angry former customer.

This story is really too long to tell. I will make it short. I went into Firestone about a vibration, ended up with new tires. They said I need new tie rods, brakes ... They could not do an alignment until I got new tie rods. I had two other places say I did not need tie rods, but I went ahead and let them do the tie rods and alignment. Still, there's the same vibration. They said there was nothing wrong with my alignment; I went back 4 or 5 times asking them to check the alignment. They came back with my ball joints were bad, another $1,300. I finally decided that I needed to go somewhere else even though I did have a lifetime alignment with them.
I took my car over to Gateway next door - all four tires are ruined thanks to a misalignment. I purchased the two I could afford and they did an alignment check. They told me that my car was way off line and my ball joints were just fine. Now my car drives like new! Why oh why would they try to gouge a customer other than for the commission?! If that is the case, my gosh, that is so despicable!

Firestone installed cheap shocks (not Monroe brand, but Ultima brand). I have not been advised to use that and installed in my car. I will not be going back to Firestone in Polaris parkway, Columbus, Ohio. I have used them before for specifically tires and tires only. I had previously taken my car in for work with another reliable mechanic here in Delaware, Ohio. I had $1,300 worth of work done, replaced my windows that were broken and a brake job that was in dire need of being done. I was missing or had a broken axle. He suggested taking my car in to get two new tires, that everything else was fine, even my shocks and brakes. I told him I'm going to Firestone because they specialize in tires. I took it in and had told them I only wanted tires - that’s it. I gave them no permission to hook up my car to their diagnosis computer. I didn't even authorize permission for an inspection. I already had that done at Snappy's Automotive.
I got the car back, he said, “Here is a list of things wrong with your car.” First off, it was the wiper blades. They tried to charge me $50 a piece for new blades. I said no. Then he tried to say that my oil valve was leaking and wanted another couple of hundred dollars for that. I said no. Then he said, “Well your shocks and struts are bad. You need to replace them. That's around $932 for the entire job.” I said again no. I can wait on those; they are not bad considering I had been to the previous mechanic that did ten times better job than Firestone ever did. I did authorize the alignment for the tires, which was to be expected. The bill went from $130 for tires to a total of $227. I had the money for that, no problem.
Then I had a funeral I had to go to over the weekend. I pulled out and my car started sputtering up a hill, never had any idle problems beforehand. I had the hubby look at it and he said, “Well did they hook it up to a diagnosis pc?” I said, “Yes, I never authorized them to do that.” Then hubby said that to him, it looked like Firestone turned down my idle way low, that it would appear that I would freak out and have to take it back to get them to fix it. I am now going back to my previous mechanic - Snappy's automotive, and letting him fix it. I explained the entire story to them. He said, “Sounds like Firestone turned down the idle while it was on the diagnosis machine.”
Chalk this up as lesson learned, though I cannot prove they turned the idle down, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the idle was fine before bringing it to Firestone and then going out to do my business, it starts acting up after the fact. Do not use Firestone period. Go elsewhere if you can. Use a local mechanic, do your homework and make sure that he or she does not have one negative review. Firestone will use you to the best of their ability to try and sucker you out of jobs that don't need to be done on your vehicle. I am fed up with products and services that use the local consumer to try and scam people’s money. That is all, have a great day and stay the hell away from Firestone.

I brought my car into Firestone and had the brakes done and mentioned that I was having trouble staring it in the am. They said they couldn't do anything about it unless it happened while they had the car there. The next day, I had more problems and while calling to schedule the oil pan gasket work, I asked the man if he thought they could look at it again or should I take it to the dealer. He said, "Just let the know when you bring it in," and they had the expertise there to look at it. So, I brought it in and let them know the problem.
When I got my car, I asked the guy if they had looked at the starting problem. He said, "No, no time, couldn't do it." There was nothing on my receipt related to the starting problem at all. If they can't do it, just let me know. It sounds like they were afraid I would take it to the dealer and not to them for the gasket. Is there a company complaint dept.?

I have been going to Firestone for last six to seven years, having all work done on my 2003 Buick Regal GS. I have been very satisfied until recently when I went in for an oil change and was told my super charger belt needed to be replaced so I agreed to have the work done.
The next time I went in for an oil change they asked me to come and look under the hood. They then showed me that my super charger belt was missing. From looking at the pulleys, it was evident that they had not been used in some time. I then asked the mechanic to go to the computer and pull my work record which he did. I then had him go back two orders and pull that work order up which showed that the super charger belt had been replaced. I did not question why it was not put on. I have had such good service that I felt they just forgot to put in on the first time. They have always been very honest with me in the past. I did not have the time that day so they told me I would get an approximate $130 customer credit to use next time.
I have since sold the car and the car comes with six oil changes so I will not be using Firestone until they run out. I have asked the local branch if they will refund me the money that was charged to my credit card and have heard nothing back. I would like this money credited to either my Visa or Mastercard which either one I used that day. The store is store # 348052, 1717 High House Rd., Cary, NC 27513-3601, (919) 238-4057. Customer complaint on store located at 407 W. Main Tupelo, MS 38804 - On 12/31/12 at 9:40 am, my wife and I were interested in purchasing a set of four tires for our Dodge Dakota. The final okay was for the purchase of a set of four tires on our new Firestone credit account. The reference number for the receipt was **. I drove the truck to my home and parked it. My son used the truck as transportation to and from school and to work and home. The next day, I was going to use the truck to move furniture. Come to my surprise, the left front tire was flat. It was odd because it did not look like the other three tires. So I became angry because I bought a brand new tire and the tire looked as if it had been used. The white of the tire was showing. So I went to the store on Wed, 1/2/2013, at about 7:45 am. I asked for a manager and stated I was very upset for the tire I purchased. I showed the three individuals the picture of tire and explained that I was running the tire on low pressure. I told them it was a brand new tire and why was I to be worried about the tire pressure.
Then his demeanor changed instantly blaming us for the tire and its condition stating that we came in with an attitude and that we were rude. We were not. He also stated that if we bring back the tire, he would replace it. I stated to him that it was their responsibility to change my tire and then his voice became louder and insisted that they were not going to do anything about it except replace the tire that we had to bring it in. Firestone has been good to me with my corporate account with my fleet vehicle. But in a personal sense, we were mistreated beyond all civility. But the most important point is that they would have put my son's safety at risk. Once I pay for this service, I will not ever use Firestone again. I will be recommending that my company go with an alternative automotive service provider. Thank you for your time in this matter. I don't expect to hear from anyone.

My 2007 Silverado broke down in front of this Firestone store (#10146, 540 Old Denton Rd., Carrollton, TX 75006-13520, (972) 245-1512) on my way to work, so I gave them permission to diagnose the problem. My guess was a fuel pump or ignition (coil). The engine had 70,000 miles and was running fine until that morning when it began to misfire and then would not start up again after I pulled into the Firestone store. The tech called me later in the day and advised me to have the intake manifold gasket replaced. I gave him permission to do so, and that was a big mistake.
So, it cost me $1,800 to have these people destroy my engine. Also, they had drained the coolant from the engine? They said it was because they assumed I was going to have them rebuild the engine and they were getting a head start.
My guess is they ran the engine without coolant (possible without oil as well). The engine sounded like a snare drum. There was no noise coming from the engine prior to them replacing the gasket and performing other work. They had the engine running prior to the gasket replacement and the engine was misfiring, but there was no noise. I had the truck towed to the local Chevy dealer where they determined the engine was dead.

I went in with a bad tire and since it was time to replace them, I applied for credit to get four new tires. I was told it would be 2-3 hours wait time so I left and returned later only to discover they haven't even started working on my car. After about an hour, I noticed that the tires they were putting on my car looked rather odd so I asked what kind of tire it was. I was told it wasn't the touring tire like I originally had on my car nor was it a quiet tire like I had but it was a less expensive tire. I told the gentleman I didn't want such a tire and why didn't he get tires similar to what I had. He told me he didn't have them but could have them the next day. I asked what was I supposed to do in the meantime and he stated that he could put my old tires back on and put my donut on for the really bad tire. I asked him if he actually thought I would be driving around in the snow and ice with a donut. He and the technicians became frustrated and the tech walked away as though upset.
At that point, I asked if the manager was in and was told no. I then called the Consumer Affairs department to complain. I was not only annoyed that I had to wait for over four hours, I am disappointed at the disposition of the staff at my request. Not only were they unprofessional, they offered me no resolve in this situation knowing that there is snow and ice on the road. Further, I feel they treated me this way due to me being a woman and not expecting me to pay attention to what they were doing. I feel like I have been placed in a no-win situation being that I am at this business too late in the day with no other option to go elsewhere. I don't expect to frequent this location again and should have honestly not come to Firestone due to being told in advance that this business has some unfair and unethical practices.

This place is a total ripoff. They will break your car and ask you to pay four (4) times the normal price for the replacement part. They don't take responsibility for their actions. Absolutely not recommended. Here's the story: I went to Firestone at 7237 W Dempster St in Niles, IL to install my 4 brand new tires I've gotten from TireRack.com. The only reason I've chosen Firestone is their business hours (open until 8PM). I've been told the procedure will take approximately 1 hour. After about 30 minutes, I was asked to take a look on something in the shop area. Apparently, there was something "wrong" with my car. To my surprise, one of the tires wasn't holding pressure. It was leaking air from the stem. It wasn't just a minor leak. It was really audible, full blown, leak.
The tire would be completely flat in a matter of couple of minutes. I've own my car since new for over 5 years now and I never had any problems with tires not holding pressure. Obviously, the technician broke it; taking the old tire off and they were trying to put the blame on me. One of the mechanics said, "I think that plastic cap was holding the pressure." Oh really. Well I have a habit of checking my tire pressure with a gauge once in a while and I take those plastic caps off and never heard anything leaking air like that. They offered me a replacement TPMS unit for only $137.95 (with tax)! I was running already late for work (night shift), so I decided to come back next day in the morning to finish the work and as a temporary fix, they installed a regular rubber stem. I was really ready to pay that price on the spot if I had time to wait another 30 minutes. Well, I'm glad I didn't.
The TPMS sensor for '07 Rav4 is available new online for $35.99 + free shipping. That's almost 4 times lower than the price I was quoted at Firestone. I get the idea that they have to meet their quotas and whatever, but 4 times? Are you kidding me?! So anyway, I went over there again the next day right after work at 7AM to talk to them about it. I brought prints of the websites with prices with me as a proof. I've been told by the employee that this is impossible and not true. He admitted that it is a common problem with those sensors and when I asked why somebody didn't warn me this situation is possible, he said (quoted), "Well then nobody would come to us." Damn right, buddy! Nobody should come to you when you don't take the responsibility for the work you do.
I work in the aviation business and when a customer gives me his multimillion dollar airplane under my care, I'm responsible for everything that happens to it under my watch. If I'm trying to tow it with the brakes on and nose gear collapses, guess what? It's my fault. I touch the static wick and it breaks, yap you've got it - my fault. So please remember, you are not in the 5th grade anymore. You are taking my personal property under your care and the second you put your tool on my car, twist it and something breaks, it's your fault! I'm expecting you to be professional in your actions. You should know what you are doing. If you knew there's a good chance that the sensor might break because of your actions, you should have let me know before you even touch my car. I was ready to go 50/50 with that ridiculous price, but I was told that this is impossible. So guess what? I got a brand new unit for $36 and my local Toyota dealer is going to put it for me for $20. You can be sure I'll never come back and advise all my friend to stay away from your business as far as they can.

On Wednesday, September 26, 2012, I drove my 2005 Grand Jeep Cherokee to a Firestone Complete Care Auto Care in Durham, North Carolina. This was without a doubt the biggest mistake a car owner can ever do. This company, in my opinion, is the worst of the worst in the business of auto care. I say, close every retail store, get all personnel certified in auto care and people skills. I have witnessed firsthand jacked up pricing and if you happened to be a woman, they are like sharks smelling blood. Well, I was taking my vehicle in for what I thought would be a routine thermostat replacement. Was I ever wrong. After I returned home, I got a call from the store manager (Rance) stating that I needed to have the head gaskets replaced. So I asked, how do you determine such a repair when the only thing needed was a thermostat?
This is what I have learned. If your vehicle happens to be overheating for an extended period of time, then the heads on the engine can become damaged. My vehicle never overheated, period. I have had to have the heads replaced at another service center other than Firestone because after I filed a complaint against them, they shipped my vehicle to a dealership. The vehicle was dropped off on Wednesday and then transported to another dealership on Friday. The matter has cost me dearly. The problem with this whole situation is that Firestone refuses to acknowledge any wrong and I don't have any proof, aside from my word.
I want Firestone to know that people will not sit by and let them continue with poor, unprofessional, hard-nose service. I am telling everyone that I know not to take your car to any Firestone, but I want all of America to know. Mind you that not all Firestones may be this way.

I called several times and the last time I called, which was four hours into labor, they told me they would contact me as soon as the alignment was done. An hour and a half, I drove by to see if my car was still being worked on and it wasn't. Therefore, they were done and had not yet called me. After that, I finally had my husband go and check on our car and they said they tried calling me (which they didn't). The rolling day, the steering wheel was off. In order to go straight, I had to have the steering wheel to the right. When I came in to have it fixed, the gentleman tried to tell me it was already like that. It drove fine before I dropped it off. When I walked off, he started imitating me and was upset he had to work on my car. I'm very unhappy because last time I brought another car here to get an oil change, they didn't do it right and it leaked oil for miles.

I brought the vehicle into the service center with obvious issue. It's possible that it needed a tune-up. I inquired the cost of tune-up but I wasn't sure that was the problem. I expected to be informed by them what was causing the problem and what was required to correct the problem before performing any services. However, only after they performed and charged me for a tune-up did they discover that it did not correct the problem. I find it hard to understand that a certified mechanic would perform a billable service before knowing if the service was the solution to the problem.

On July 19, 2012, my vehicle had died, and after sitting for some time, it started again. As I was driving, it started to die again. It was then that I had taken it to the Firestone on South Academy for service. I explained in detail what I was experiencing, and they ran an engine diagnostic. They advised me that it was the engine sensors. 540.07 dollars later, I was good to go, so I thought. The very next day on July 20, 2012, the vehicle died again! I took it back to the Firestone on South Academy and asked them to explain to me what the problem was, because I thought it was addressed the day before. After inspecting the vehicle again, they told me that it was the fuel pump. The fuel pump? I thought it was the sensors that I had just serviced the day before?!
Frustrated and confused, I told them to fix the fuel pump. That was $433.96. I then asked them why they charged me for something that did not need to be fixed at the time. They then went on to say that they were going off of what the engine diagnostic and the code that tripped it said. At this point, I'm so very frustrated. $974.03 in two days! As a mechanic, are you supposed to rely solely on the readings of a computer-operated system, or are you supposed to rely on your experience as well as the computer system? I think, at this point, they had a better idea of what was going on when I brought the vehicle in on July 19, 2012. They banked on the fact that they knew I would bring it back to fix the real problem.
On September 2, 2012, I took my vehicle into the South Firestone location for service to my brakes. $249.33 was the total for front brakes and rotors. Two days later, September 4, 2012, there was an uncontrollable shaking as I approached 55mph on the highway. It was so bad that I had to pull over and take an alternate route to prevent any further shaking. It was not noticed until then because I had not driven the vehicle any faster than 40mph. It had never done that before! I dropped the vehicle off on September 4 for a next day appointment at 7am. At around 10:30am on September 5, 2012, I called Firestone to check the status of my vehicle. The lady then explained to me the problem, and all I heard was the cost of this service. Somewhere up in the $600 range!
I was infuriated! I got angry with her and asked her, “Why is it that every time I bring in my vehicle for service, I end up back here the following day with a new problem?” I then told her that she needed to do two things for me: to take my vehicle down and to give me the number to corporate. She had given the store manager the phone, and I recapped the issue, and he agreed that he would take care of the problem. I went and got my vehicle that day and told him I would bring it back that Friday, September 7, 2012. From Friday (September 7) to Monday (September 10) they had my vehicle. I went in on Monday evening, close to closing, to pick up my vehicle, which they said was almost done. I was then on my way, hopeful that I would have no more worries.
Tuesday, September 11, while driving to work, I noticed that the vehicle was doing the exact same thing it had done on September 4, 2012. It was shaking with speeds in excess of 50-55mph. I thought they had just serviced this issue! That day I had enough. I was no longer going to deal with this Firestone. I filed a BBB complaint and contacted corporate to inform the public and corporate of their mishandling of my vehicle. A gentleman by the name of Steve ** from the Denver district offices contacted me on September 11 and left a voice mail to apologize and stated that they were at fault for this incident because they did not test-drive the vehicle and that it was against policy. I called Steve back the following day, and he arranged for me to have it re-repaired at another location. I took it into the North Firestone location. It was serviced and corrected.
October 5, 2012, I took my vehicle into the North Firestone location to get tires. I believe it was at this time or later that I requested they inspect the brakes as well because of a noise I heard as I drove. I was advised that the noise was coming from the front left caliper, so they fixed and replaced the brake pads. At this time, they also inspected and cleaned the rear drum brakes. This was sometime in October.
November 13, 2012, I was on my way to work, driving on the highway, when I noticed that I had no brakes, or very little brakes. I was approaching a truck with a bed full of lumber and such items; and as I pressed the pedal down, there was no resistance; and I applied the pedal to the floor, and all it did was slow me down some. I scurried to another lane to avoid the truck in front of me. I was devastatingly shaken and just shy of tears! I was about six minutes away from the North Firestone location and took it in to be inspected. I arrived at about 8:05am. I sat there until about 9:45am. This is when Sean advised me on what was wrong with my brakes. He explained to me and showed me what happened. He said that the right rear drum had exploded and corroded and that it needed to be replaced. I asked him how this could have happened, seeing as how I just had the rear drums cleaned and inspected. I told him this could not have happened overnight.
I began to get very emotional. He then goes on to tell me what it would cost for this repair. $540 and some change was the total. I couldn't believe it at all! He attempted to gather previous paperwork, which described what was noted the last time I was there. He mentioned that he couldn't read it because of the carbon copy was illegible. He then said he had to call Mike, the store manager, who was not there at the time. He looked frustrated while he was on the phone with Mike. He took his call in the garage, so I did not hear the conversation. When he came back, he was still polite and explained to me that after speaking with Mike, he could offer me two different options: Option 1 - lifetime brake service drum; Option 2 - standard rear drum brake service. Option 2 would get me safely back on the road and was a lot cheaper, so I choose Option 2. I left the location to go to work, which I was now 2 hours late for, and called them around 12:30 to check the status. I was told that my vehicle was ready for pickup. On November 14, I gave Steve ** a call and left a message. He has not yet responded as of 10:45pm, November 14.
I was in and out of Firestone at least 7 times in four months’ time. Most of the time, it was a re-visit for something that should have been repaired before. November 13, 2012, was definitely the last straw! What if I would have caused a major accident, gotten seriously injured, or died on that highway? Would it have been Firestone's top priority then? It should not take something so drastic to happen in order for work to be done accurately the first time around. At first, I was concerned that the South Firestone location was to blame for their shady practices. But then after experiencing it again with the North Firestone location, I can see that it must be policy. Please visit us again and again, we'll eventually get it right! Even if your vehicle is not safe to drive, we'll send you off thinking we did something to help you! I can see the pattern here. It says something about the personnel you hire and the work ethic they adhere to.

I have been going to Firestone tires for many years and have never been so disappointed. They sold me an alignment that I did not need, and then my car drove horribly. When I took it back, they told me that there was something wrong with my car and not their service. The car was not the problem; it was the service. I tried to get some satisfaction from the corporate office, but it was a long string of rude managers who would not listen. I will never go back, and I have never been more disappointed in all my life from one company.
