Was a certified master tech for 27 years. Took my 97 Chevy truck in for an alignment. Was told it needed an upper ball joint and idler arm. I had just replaced all front steering components. I went over to Firestone and checked it out myself and found nothing wrong. Told them to align front end and they did. Picked up truck, steering wheel was off to the left, they said it was because idler arm was bad (wrong). I straightened wheel myself. Also when picked up, drivers door wouldn't open and drivers window wouldn't go up. No more Firestone visits for me.

In the past we trusted Firestone to take care of our cars. We had tires put on our SUV. The lug nuts were not put on tight enough causing lug stems to break at frost. I did not know this. I drove to Alabama from West Virginia. My daughter borrowed my SUV. She was surprised I made it there. Took it back to get it fixed. Same thing happened again the third time after supposing it was finally fix. We were taking it back the tire falls off on the road. Two guys who saw it happen got it back on their response. We were lying we should have sued. We were dumb and had our oil changed there a month ago. I had it back three times which I thought was a tire problem. I told them about light on dashboard kept flashing. They could not find anything. I was worried took car somewhere else. It was short 4 quarts of oil. It could have destroyed our car. Never going back again.

I went to Firestone to check the sound which was coming from the Front right Side whenever I go to a bumpy road. The sound was very annoying and was disturbing a lot. I paid the 10$ amount to get complete car inspection and they recommended me to get the Engine mounts replaced and provided me with estimated cost of 1120$. As I got the car recently from one of my friend, I thought to give it some more day before I make the decision of getting it fixed.
Two days later my car started behaving abnormally and the noise which was very less earlier it increased like hell. Now the noise was there every time even when I am driving on a smooth road with normal gaps or bumps. Earlier the noise was not that much and not also very frequent. I am sure that Firestone guys did something with my car and broken the system which was running fine earlier. The noise which was coming has now increased a lot and really making it impossible to drive.

Made an appointment with Firestone for a routine oil change and front end alignment that I paid a lifetime for. Number one if you don't want to give customers satisfaction you should not sell something you give poor customer service for. I have had nothing but problems after I bought the lifetime of front end alignments. Dropped my car off at 10. Called at 2:30 and they said "yes your car is almost done." Once I get there they asked if I wanted my tire fixed that had a nail in it. I said sure. After 3:30 now saw my car leave the lift and garage and they told me it will be another hour before it is done. Why would I come up there to sit for 2 hours. They are liars. I will call corporate for the second time and complain but will do as least business as possible in the future there. That is not including the $600 in work they said I needed. NOT.
Bottom line they refused to do the front end alignment and lied and said I cussed them out. I did not cuss them out. I said "I did not come back up here to sit all day." They are crazy and will not get in trouble at all. The worst thing I said was "this is ** to sit here for 2 hours." I will come back and they refused to do it. Watch out Yellow Brick Road in Rosedale. I won't be back there ever again.

The Richmond VA store (which just opened) on West Broad St. is a total ripoff. They charged me $40 to fix a flat tire. Anywhere else in Richmond it's $25. They made an estimate without ever looking at the tire and amazingly enough after they fixed a simple leak, it cost exactly what the estimate was. So they set you up and then rip you off. And on top of that, the people behind the service desk are rude and have a "I don't care" attitude. I will NEVER go there again and believe me I will tell all of my friends to stay away from these crooks.

Went in to have a headlight replaced since it requires a little more to replace in the Ford Fusion and needed it done since I had been pulled up for that. I dropped off the vehicle and went next door and ate lunch. About 45 minutes later returned expecting my car. They went on to explain that my car needed tires and a sway bar replaced. I said not today but they went on to say would take an hour to replace my head light and while I was waiting they would do a courtesy alignment check and guess what I was in desperate need of an alignment. I went on to explain that I didn't have the time today to get any of these things done.
Well finally 2 hours later and 125 dollars got my head light was changed and I was done. I went back home and did what was needed. The next day I had forgotten that I had gone to the bank and left some cash in my console. The cash was stolen from my vehicle, can't prove it was done at the shop but my car wasn't broken into and my alarm hadn't gone off and the cash was gone. The only open access would have been at Firestone. I know I shouldn't have left anything in my car but make sure nothing of value is left or it might be gone.

Came to the store at 7.00 AM. They started working at my car after 30 minutes pass. I'm glad I didn't left the store. I was watching how they were doing the rotations of the tires. After he finished doing that, he started to take the oil out. I had change my oil a week ago. I didn't request to change the oil. I had to ask the manager why they were changing the oil. He said it was a mistake. Don't know if they put the oil synthetic that I had on there. Went to the dealer and they didn't put synthetic. I was the first one in the store and they took 3 hours to service a rotation and an alignment. Will be getting a lawyer because they also damage some parts in the alignment. Now when I turn is making a clicking sound. I took it to the dealer and to fix their mess I had to pay a good $1200. Definitely don't recommend this place to anyone.

My elderly husband took my 2013 Nissan Sentra to Firestone at Lakeland Mall on US 98 on Wednesday February 18, 2017 for an oil change. They told him he also had to get an alignment right away and mentioned that the clutch looked burned out on their paperwork after it was done. I was barely able to drive the car; when I pressed the gas there was no acceleration. I made an appointment with Nissan and they said the clutch was burned out. There had been no problem with the clutch, the alignment was totally unnecessary and it is my opinion that they sabotaged my car. I do not think I can ever prove that they did this, but I can say that they took advantage of my elderly husband, forced him to get a $169 alignment when he just went in for an oil change, and my clutch which worked when he took it in did not work when he left. It is my opinion that the intent was to damage the clutch and then charge for repairing it.

These people are liars and will try to drain you for every single penny they can get. They lied telling us the work on our car would be $700 max only to raise it to $900 and they NEVER even fixed the car. They didn't even check the car out before changing this one part to see what the problems actually were. So, thanks to their non-generosity we are in more dire circumstances now, but do you think they care? They lied a lot, so I highly doubt it. Now, we are without a vehicle when the person who owns it needs to be able to get to his job, but they don't care about that. I mean, they did STEAL another $200 from us after all.
Unfortunately my husband went to pick up the vehicle without me or I would have raised all kinds of you know what. They also lied about how long it would take them to do the work. This place is full of liars and money hungry distasteful jerks. NEVER will I EVER go to them again and I'll warn everyone else against it as well. I will also be looking towards talking to their overall supervisor for their employee's complete ineptitude and incompetence.

Dropped off tire Saturday before noon. Was told it would be available by end of day. Hadn't heard anything, called to check close to 5pm. Was told it would be ready by 7pm. Called before 7pm to say I wouldn't be able to pick it up by 7pm but asked, "would it be possible to get tires rotated since I had one replaced?" Answer: "yes, but we have some appointments in the morning. Can you come in a little later in the day?" My answer: "ok, sounds good." (That would be Sunday.)
I came to Firestone of Branford on Sunday after 1pm (tire should have been replaced Saturday night). The woman behind the counter waiting on a customer impatiently puts two callers on hold that no one ever gets back to. She asks who is next and I say, "me, but you can pick up those calls if you'd need to." She looks at the phone, kind of chuckles, grunts and turns to me and says, "no, let's go." They eventually hung up.
She begins looking for my tire. She can't find it anywhere. Time passes. She elicits others help. No one can find my tire. I literally have to step into the repair area to point out my tire from 100 feet away. NO ONE HAD DONE ANYTHING TO MY TIRE EXCEPT MISPLACE IT. I walked out. Dee (the woman managing the desk) called me 20 minutes later to tell me the tire was ready.
Of course, I'm driving on my donut. So, I drive into the Firestone parking area. Come in, pay for and take possession of my tire. I immediately carry the tire to my car and begin jacking my car up to change the new tire for the donut right there in the Firestone parking lot. NO ONE SAYS A WORD. No, "may I help you Mr. **." Dee actually came outside at one point to have a cigarette, looked straight at me. Didn't say anything. This is after I have had several other BAD experiences with this same Firestone Complete Auto Care store and all under the supervision of Brian the store manager.

This is a review of Firestone located at: 8660 E Arapahoe Rd Englewood, CO 80112-1403. I have several cars. I bought all my tires from the same Firestone store. I also purchased additional services such as road hazard warranty and lifetime tire rotation and wheel alignment from the same store. I routinely take my cars to rotate tires and check and do the alignment if needed. They told me that they could not do the alignment of two of my cars. One Windstar and the other is Camry which has less than 26K miles.
Firestone told me that I must replace the inner and outer tie rods which is a total of close to $1000. I took the ford to the ford dealer and I took the Camry to the Toyota dealer. Both dealers told me nothing is wrong with the cars and "we can do the alignment for you if you wish." I went back to Firestone and told them what the dealers told me and gave them the written diagnostics the dealer performed and documented in writing. Firestone still insisted that it cannot be done. I chatted with firestone corporate and will see what happens. They gave me reference number for the file for the Windstar is **. The reference number for the Toyota is going to be **. The service manager is nice but so far, I have lost confidence of them. This is rip off.

On 11/23/16 I took my 2007 Nissan Versa in for tires and alignment. On 12/26/16, when in a parking lot, my ball joint and axle broke. I had to have it towed to my regular mechanic, with over 30 years experience (but is more expensive with tires only), who found a couple of other issues that prove it would have been impossible for the alignment to have been done and it would have been impossible for them not to have seen the issue with my lower ball joints and bent strut. Through this fraud and negligence they put my life in serious danger. Contacting a lawyer.

Car was sputtering and dying. Took to Firestone. Ran diagnostics. Ended up spending $1800 on a catalytic converter... Got my car back. Still sputtering and dying. Had another mechanic at another Firestone check it out... said my oil was very dirty and very low. For some reason my change oil reading was not coming on so I didn't realize this might be a problem... added oil and problem was solved. He said it was standard procedure when you bring a car in to Firestone they check the oil. I went back to the Firestone that "fixed" my truck and asked him how they could missed this, but he pretty much had no answer... And they screwed me two days before Christmas. In shopping for the best price on oil changes, I found that Firestone was promoting a $15 rebate. I took TWO vehicles in for the change (not in violation of the rebate terms), obtained the rebate form at the close of the transaction and sent them in with the required original receipt provided by the Service Center at the close of each transaction. I received two post cards, presumably one for each transaction that stated that my submission would not be honored because I did not submit the required "original receipt." When I went back to Firestone, I was told that what they had given me were the "original receipts." Phone calls to the rebate center put me in endless phone menu loops and I was never able to speak with a person.
All in all, a very time consuming and frustrating experience. The takeaway... Don't shop Firestone based on a rebate. You will never receive your rebate and will spend inordinate time and experience extreme frustration in pursuing it. Essentially Firestone "baited" me to make a purchase stating that it would cost "X" and when it came time to pay, the price had increased by approximately %30! To add insult to injury, I was able to contact Firestone corporate (not anyone actually dealing with rebates). The representative seemed very sympathetic, agreed that it sounded to be very fraudulent and promised that I would receive a phone call "within 24 hrs." Of course no one ever called. So much for Harvey Firestone's credo of fair dealing posted in the Service Center waiting room.

I was told they replaced it for free since the tune up was less than two years old. I found out today that they did not replace that broken wire. There were 2600 misfires on number 6 cylinder in the computer memory. How can you run a business like this? BEWARE: Shop manager Todd is very arrogant. It's as if he feels he is doing you a favor. We came in to have the brake fluid and rotors replaced on my wife's car when we were told we needed 4 tires. Since this Firestone passed the car for inspection 2 months prior we spoke to Todd about it prior to purchasing the tires. When we asked Todd he said that when they fail cars for bad tires on inspections it raises red flags with the state. So my response was "it's either a safety issue or it's not. Why would you be dishonest because of what the state might think?" The guy had the nerve to say to my wife with me standing there "If you were my wife I'd make sure your tires weren't bald." I had to pray to myself and think of my family, freedom, and job to keep me from acting ignorant. So when we looked at the tires the outer tread was fine. It was the inner tread that was worn, but not "bald".
So I asked him if he was married and he said he was and he takes care of his wife's car. Then I told him "but you're a mechanic". I said this because I wanted to see if this guy had any idea he just insulted a customer, but his arrogance may have blocked that feeling. We will not patronize FIRESTONE, Hampton VA again. I was on the fence about writing you guys but I realize this guy does not appreciate his position.

Kept my truck for way too long (LAZY) and didn't even check to see if they actually fixed the 4WD (INCOMPETENT).
So I call a week ahead to get an appointment to have it looked at again, today I dropped off my truck at 10am at which point I told them I needed it back by their closing time 5pm, and they said they would get it in and look at it quickly. I call them at 2:00 pm they haven't even looked at it (LAZY), I drive to the shop at 3:00 pm and it is still in the parking lot (LAZY). I go in and tell them I want my car back, where I asked them WTF is the point of getting a 10am appointment if they won't look at it for 5 hours?
Where the receptionist tells me that it was just about to be pulled in (**) and that it would have gotten fixed by 5 pm (**), she tried to tell me that they could diagnose and fix a problem in 2 hours that they couldn't figure out in 3 DAYS, 2 months before (INCOMPETENT). I have gone to Firestone for years for alignments and inspections. Little to no issues have ever happened, until recently I had a flat repair done at the Banksville store in Pittsburgh. I normally don't let them touch my tires as I have them done elsewhere but I couldn't drive far so I choose them. In the process they have damaged two rims on my car. I drive a 2013 Dodge Challenger and the rims are not cheap, because the tech wasn't paying attention or was not properly taught, he cracked the face of two rims which have a plastic chrome on them, these are not wheel covers, but rather considered chrome clad rims.
I had brought this up with Jeff the store manager, and he acknowledged that it happened and had talked to the tech about it. He also has promised to replace them. That was three months ago, each time I attempt to get ahold of him to try to resolve this it fails. He's either busy, or forgot, or something happened and he again promises to get them. This has been three months of this and I finally resorted to go and complain to the company. This hasn't been the only angering thing about the situation. I found out recently by the dealership that certain things need to be reset on newer cars when an alignment is completed. If they are not issues arise with the cars safety system. I have a lifetime alignment with them, and they do not know how or even possess the tools to reset these systems. They are vital to the car's operation. I now have to let the dealership fix my car to correct this and cannot believe the "ASE" techs they are suppose to have would do this.
I can't speak for every situation, or car, or person at firestone, I have seen good techs who's knowledge of cars is excellent. However this issue over a simple flat repair has gone too far and now they have lost myself, and my family who trusted Firestone to work on our vehicles. I want things done right when it comes to my car, I understand mistakes happen but this has proven to me that you get what you pay for. I will never return to Firestone for another repair, I don't make a lot of money, but I'd rather spend my hard earned money on service that gets done right the first time, and by techs who know my car!

I called corporate office twice this year for two reasons. The first was they had a broken frappe machine this summer for 7 weeks. It was fixed the next day after the complaint. The second was that they did not honor a coupon this past week making me pay full price. I use this location daily for coffee and frappes. It is one mile from my house and I will drive 6 miles to go to another location... or perhaps another restaurant name altogether. I called the manager to the front and explained how I was lied to and taken advantage of by his employees.
After investigating further, the mechanic admitted he had misrepresented the severity of the boot damage and apologized. The girl in the front of the store never apologized for exaggerating an already exaggerated lie. The manager in the store at the time apologized and said it was a mistake. It wasn't a mistake. On Nov 30 my daughter took my car to Firestone in Roanoke Rapids, NC in order to have a new tire put on and an alignment, as it had failed inspection for the tire the day before. She figured she'd just have the inspection done there to make it easier. When the tire and alignment were done, the tech came out and said it would not pass inspection because the car needed a new serpentine belt.
First off, this isn't even part of the inspection process. Secondly, the car had been inspected the day before and the ONLY thing wrong was the front tire. He then told her he could replace it and it would be $120! She called me distraught. I told her absolutely not to have it done. This was an obvious attempt to get more money for a service that wasn't needed. She told him no, this isn't in the budget so he took it down to $80. Still a no. So because he'd already stated it wouldn't pass, failed the car for steering! Took it first thing this morning to a certified inspection station and the guy who works on our cars. He checked the belt, it's FINE. Car passed with no problems. I think because she was a young female she was targeted, and this was an obvious case of fraud. I can kind of understand wanting an upsale, but they tried to sell me new tires and I just purchased the tires the year before, then my battery was no good. I had questioned them that since they had replaced my brakes they make noise all the time, it was nothing that they did. It was because my car had ceramic breaks. It is strange that after just getting home and putting my car in reverse there is no noise which I was assured that the noise was because my brakes were ceramic.
I think something needs to be done about the quality of work that is done there. Training needs to take place or they need to be fined. They tried to tell me all my lug bolts were bad. Granted I bought a used car and some broke one of the bolts off. They quoted 121.00 for that. I opted out and told them to replace the tires only. "We can replace those ourselves for 6.79 a bolt." I understand labor but really. So we leave to let them work on the car and they call about 15 minutes later and tell me all the bolts and lugs were bad.
Randall said he would have to extract the tires. I was like no. It was going to be almost close to 700.00 by the time they extracted my tires no. I say always get a second opinion. What a shame. Firestone located at Arbor Place Blvd, Douglasville GA has taken care of my 2011 KIA since I bought it. Had oil changed in June, unknown to me they left it 3 quarts low when they gave it back and blew the engine. The car is sitting and has been sitting at the KIA dealership for a month now. Firestone just emailed me that they were not paying for an engine replacement. There is no accountability for this company. No ownership from the company. Didn't even go and review the car... KIA dealership says yep - burnt up oil caused a burnt engine. Luckily I have an awesome insurance company that says they will take care of me and go to Firestone themselves. Shame that a big company like Firestone feels like they basically can treat the little man with no respect.

I went into Firestone for an oil change. I was asked if I wanted the free inspection and I agreed. After an hour and 20 minutes the young lady working told me that I need new tires and a alignment. I stated that I just purchased the car and everything is running just fine. I only live around the corner from Firestone so the next morning as I was driving to work the car started pulling to the right. I called them on my break and told them what was going on.
The manager Dave told me all they did was an oil change and they couldn't have done anything to it. I told him I know how an oil change goes and when I brought it in I didn't have any problems so how could it be pulling when it wasn't doing that when I brought it in? They didn't do anything but test drove it and said it was pulling but I needed new tires and a alignment. I should be able to take my car in for an oil change without being worried if they tamper with my car. Just said I don't have any and I do mean any extra money for repairs. Something needs to be done. Needless to say I will never in my life go back to Firestone in Nora in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sara was the young lady and Eddie did the work. It's going to come back on you guys 10 x 4.

I went to Firestone in Birmingham Al to have Tires Balanced and Rotated and Oil Change. When service was suppose to be completed Manager told me that my balance and rotation was free and only charged me for the Oil Change. So I asked him and he stated that my car was fine and I was good to go. I explain to him I was my way out of town and I away get my tires rotated and balance and oil change before I go. He gave me a receipt and I trust that everything was okay. Once I got on the road I was at a 50 mile on the highway and my tires on the front end started vibrating once I got up to a certain speed. So slow down and continued my trip in fear all the way. Once I turned home I was praying all the way that God will help me make it back.
I took the car back and asked them to check my front end tire. They were vibrating and I was told the tire rods needed to be replaced, so I told them my car was not doing any of that when I came to get my tires rotated and balance. I had no vibration or anything like that before I took my car into them. One of the tech's that looked my car say my tires were never balanced. They had just be rotated and he got really smart with me and said "well how many miles do you have on this car anyway?" I guess that was to say "your car is old anyway."
I kept explaining there was nothing wrong with my car until I let them work on it. I went by twice and no one would help me. I am fearful to go back to them and want everyone else to know that damaged my car and wanted $400 to fix it. There was nothing wrong with my car until I went to them. This Firestone is located on Oporto Madrid Blvd in Birmingham, Al. These are some awful people. Please Let me know if there is anything I can do about this.

I have made several visits to the Firestone on 5034 Memorial Dr, Stone Mountain, GA 30083 for regular oil changes, as well as some concerns that my car was running loudly. Each time I was told I would be fine. In July, I was told by ** that I had a hole in my exhaust but I would be ok as long as I could live with the loud noise. So I asked him if it was anything major and he said no, nothing to worry about until time for me to get my emissions done May 2017 because it would not pass with the loud noise. I said "are you sure", and he said "yes you are fine". On September 29, 2016 I went in for a regular oil change, new tires and lifetime alignment. I had concerns regarding the loud noise and I told ** that my steering wheel was sticking when I'm driving and I wanted to make sure it would not interfere with my wheel alignment. He said he would have the guys check it out for me.
My disappointment came when I arrived at 11:30 that morning and there was only two other people there. Around 1 pm another gentleman came in for the same services I was getting except they had to order his tires. However he was out of there by 2:30 pm and I was still waiting. I then addressed ** and told him I was not pleased with the fact that I had been there over 3 hours and this guy came in and was out in less than 2 hours. He blamed it on the techs and said it was according to which tech took the ticket. I told him that was unacceptable. I felt like I was discriminated against being...I was a female and I was overlooked. He kept saying that was not the issue and I yet disagree. Although he gave me a small discount for the wait, that service was unacceptable and should not ever happen.
Around 3:50 my vehicle was finally complete and he told me they didn't see anything wrong with my steering and that the hole in my exhaust is nothing major but would just be annoying because of the loudness. He advised me to go to a muffler shop if I wanted to get rid of the noise. Because I have no income as long as he assured me there was nothing major wrong and it was just loud noise, I could live with that. I drove off and the next morning while I was driving, the steering wheel begin to stick again. I called him immediately and he said I would need to come in and have a tech ride in the car with me. I told him I had asked them to test drive it when it was there to check and I thought that's what they had done in order to tell me they didn't find anything wrong. He told me they were too busy to test drive it. So how could they say nothing was wrong if it was never tested?
Well on October 8, 2016, early morning I was driving and lo and behold my muffler fell off in the front. How did they not see that coming after all the inspections they did over the past few months. So May, I was good. July, I was good. September, I was good but ten days later my muffler fall off, that's not good. I was told that I could have hydroplaned and flipped my vehicle had I been driving any faster than the 30 mph. No I have to get that repaired when it could have been avoided had they properly inspected my vehicle. They charge a lot of money to scam you out of repairs that don't need to be done instead of the repairs that actually needed to be done. I think this repair should be on Firestone, no charge.

Firestone is the worst auto repair shop I have ever been to. This one I am talking about is in Phoenix Arizona. I took my car there to have four new tires put on and an alignment and was talked into a couple of other things. I spent like three hours there and over seven hundred dollars only to drive away and find out the Mechanic who worked on my car broke a part for my air ride suspension. It was a part that detects how much weight is in the vehicle then automatically adjusts the height of the vehicle. Well with this part broke my car sat up as high as it could because it was detected that there was a lot of weight in the vehicle when actually there was not. The Mechanic that worked on my car had to know this part was broken because it hangs down under the vehicle you can even see it from behind the vehicle while driving behind it and it was sitting unusually high when it left the store.
When I went back with the problem which was that same night they took it in and looked at it and admitted the Mechanic broke the part during the time he was raising my vehicle as he was supposed to disconnect that bar. The guy that worked the counter said he would pay to repair it himself out of his own pocket even if he had to go to a junkyard and pull it himself. Oh and not to mention the part that is broke is retired and no longer being made so it is not possible to find it they stopped making them a long time ago. I had talked to the Manager and that got me nowhere. I have even filed a claim with Firestone but nothing has been done or heard about it. Now I understand this part is discontinued BUT something needs to be done and there is something they can do but they refuse to do it. They can convert my rear suspension over. Now the time has come for me to contact an Attorney and file a claim against them. This is not over yet.

My car's transmission blew. We coasted into Firestone on Carlisle and Menaul in Albuquerque. A young lady was behind the desk, (Cassiday) she informed me they could do a test to make sure it was the transmission. I told her we have an appointment at ABQ health partners, my Father who is 82 just had hip surgery and is having difficulty walking. She was very gracious and helped me get the Uber app. I could not access an account with Uber. She then offered to take us.
When we returned, we were not charged for the tests. I tried to take my car to a transmission shop down the road, it completely went out. We were stuck on a busy street. To my dismay a driver for Firestone was passing and stopped, called a tow and gave us a ride to the transmission shop. These great employees should be recognized for going beyond their job duties. I cannot express our gratitude. It is not everyday you encounter such great customer service and kind people.

Our car was checked here because it would not start. They charged us $25.99 to check the battery. They called and said battery checked fine. When arrived to pick it up, it would not start. The Firestone guy boosted the vehicle and stated, "That's weird". Took it to another place, who does not charge to check batteries (as most places do not). It failed the test. Big surprise. Battery replaced same day for $52.00 less than Firestone's price and a 6 year warranty compared to Firestone's 5 year. Plus, no fee to install. We have not had any trouble starting this vehicle since then.
Looked closely at the Firestone battery test later and it read: 'Your battery performance has started to decline and may fail to start. Consider replacing before it's exposed to extreme temperatures'. I had to call and argue with the Firestone guy to finally get a refund. Funny thing is... They don't even keep our vehicle's battery in stock. I verified this by calling two other Firestone locations. It's special order only. Only go here if you break down in their parking lot and you don't have roadside assistance.

Last May the radiator went on my van, took it to Firestone and they quoted me at 566.00, since I knew this was overpaying but I had a charge with them I agreed. 14 months later it's leaking badly, went back and was told it was only guaranteed for 12 months, really. I check all the local auto shops and was told the radiator would cost 129.00 and was a lifetime guarantee, when I told them they did not know what to say. Nowhere in my paperwork did it say 12 months, they agreed to put the radiator in free but I had to pay the labor. This radiator job between the two repairs cost me 560.00 in labor repair. Bull, never again, gonna file a complaint with the BBB, and contact corporate, beware!

I took my car into Firestone yesterday for service. My power steering had gone out and I needed an oil change and new tires. I had gone on the website and found tires for my car for $48 per tire and made an appointment to have the work done and tires installed. I was at the store at 7am when it opened to drop off my car because I had to work. At first I was told that the cheapest tire they had for my car was $66 per tire. I had to show him the exact tire I wanted on my phone to get the cheaper tire. Once that was resolved, I explained the issue I was having with my power steering and was told I would receive a call once the problem was found. At 1:30 that afternoon, I still hadn't heard anything so I called and was told "let me call you back in 10 minutes."
45 minutes later, I got a call saying that the problem was my power steering pump. He said that the part was $169 but the labor would be $270. When I questioned why it was so much for labor, he told me it would take about 2.5 hours of work. I hesitantly agreed and was told it would be done by 6. It was. I picked up my car and drove it home, only a few miles from the store location. The next morning, I started my car to go to work and it was making a squealing sound. As I backed out of my garage and started down my street, it got louder. In fact, it was loudest when I was accelerating. When I braked or was at a stop, the squealing was quieter. I'm no mechanic, but I could tell the sound was coming from under my hood. It was obvious. Also, when I would accelerate from a stop, about half the time, the "BRAKE" light on my dashboard would come on.
Since I had no problems with this happening before I took my car to them the previous day, I called the store as soon as it opened and explained what was happening. They told me to bring it in and they would look at it. So when I got off of work, I went and got my kids and we went to Firestone. I explained again what was happening, gave them my keys and sat down with my 1 year old son and 6 year old daughter to wait. An hour went by before they even moved my car from the original parking spot.
After 30 more minutes, the mechanic came to tell me that I needed new wheel bearings and brakes which would cost almost $900. I couldn't believe it. I asked him why the sound was coming from under my hood if it was a brake problem. He told me that brake noise can sound like that sometimes. What??? So then I asked him why my car was all of a sudden having these problems? The sound and the light had not been happening until I brought my car into them. I said "That seemed like a pretty big coincidence." He insisted that it must be just a big coincidence. He suggested that if the almost $900 was too much money, maybe I could just do one side and come back later for the other side. At this point I was furious. Here this guy was telling me that I was imagining that the noise was coming from under my hood and that it just so happened that all these problems happened the day after they worked on my car.
I told him there was no way I was paying the that much money. His final solution was to have his manager call me in the morning to see if he could give me some sort of discount. I truly feel like they took advantage of the fact that I'm a woman and I have little to no knowledge about cars. They overcharged me for labor to install the power steering pump, then broke my car while they were in there. Now I have to take my car to somewhere else and pay who knows how much to fix the damage. Please beware of Firestone especially if you're a woman. They will mess something up just to get you to pay more money to fix it. Never again.

I have many over many years I will continue buying tires there because I believe for the most part they do have some of the best tires being sold. I also am a Firestone employee and get a very good discount on tires. Which makes my treatment by the Auto Care Centers feel so much worst I would think they would treat fellow teammates better.
I will start with my most recent problem I have had with them. I purchased a set of 4 tire for a car. Less than a week later the tire was flat. I aired it up again and sprayed it down with soapy water. It was leaking air around the bead so I'm thinking it must be a narrow bead or lack of tie into the inner liner. I took it into the shop without even looking at the tire. They told me it was my rim that was bad. I assured them that my rim was fine and they should look at the tire for the problem. This lead to a very heated discussion ending with me telling them I wanted to see this rim that was so bad it would not hold air. An hour and a half later they brought my tire back out, told me it was a rusty rim. They repaired it and that the tire would hold air for a while. The rim was so bad that it would not ever hold air long term.
At that point I am very upset they never showed me the bad rim. I get home and notice the bead sealer oozing out. I have seen a lot of bead sealer used and never seen it oozing that long after. Two weeks later the tire is flat again. So I take it to another shop. I explain everything that happened. He comes out and says, "Yep, aluminum oxide is the problem" (at least this guy uses proper term for it). He also continues to tell me that the rim was never repaired, basically that means using a wire wheel and cleaning it off. He says, "Don't worry. We fixed it for you this time, but it will not hold air long term". That's two tire repairs I paid for this tire.
So about a month goes by and it's low again. So I say maybe it's time for another rim. I find one at a junkyard and they say they can install the tire also. When he pulled the tire off the rim he is like, "I'm sorry but there is nothing wrong with this rim and it has NEVER been touched by a wire wheel". He shows me the rim and I can clearly see that it was never ever repaired as I was told TWICE. I tell him I need to find out if it is the tire or not, so go ahead and sell me the rim you have. Again a month later tire is low. I tell my son because he is the one driving the car back and forth to college he is just going to have to keep an eye on it. Less than 10k miles and the tire is shot partly due to him not checking the tire like he should have but he shouldn't have had to check it that often anyways. I purchased another tire and had it installed on the original rim. 2 months later and it is still fully inflated. Yes, I checked the rim was never supposed to hold air.
I have had two tires many years apart that developed bulges in the sidewall both times less than two weeks after having them installed. I take them in and say I believe that an open splice is problem with the tire. They tell me that no I hit the curb and it is an impact damage that caused it and that I should have purchased road hazard. Both times they were heavy duty truck tires.
I ask if these were the same tires they sell to construction companies. Yes they buy lots of these tires so I comment if they are that fragile. How do the tires hold up under the conditions they drive them in? I only had the tires for two weeks and drove on paved highways and city streets. Also why would it be long linear bulge that follows the direction of the radial fabric used as body ply? I challenged both to cut the tire because that is the only way to tell if my assumption was correct and it would be obvious if I was right. The first manager conceded that he would replace the tire this one time. The other manager absolutely refused.
I had taken a car in for a realignment one time after I changed ball joints and brakes. The guy at the desk comes out and tells me my brakes are bad and need replaced. I inform him I don't think so because I just did them myself two day ago. Oh we were just going by the mileage on the vehicle. I find that very hard to believe.
I was very busy and had a coupon for an oil change so I took my car in for an oil change. The very nice lady behind the counter came carrying in an air filter that was extremely dirty. She sits down with a concerned look on her face and say, "Troy, this is your air filter. It needs to be changed". Now I worked as a mechanic in the military and have always done maintenance and repairs to my vehicles. Because of a very expensive air filter bought at a Ford dealership after my wife was getting warranty work on a vehicle that had just been replaced I started writing my name and date on the air filters. The filter this concerned lady was showing me did not have my name or date on it. So I explain that I didn't think that this was my filter and we should both check my car together.
When I get out there they DID NOT even have the air filter box popped open on my car. When I opened it I showed her my nearly new air filter with my name and date clearly written in black marker on the orange seal of the Fram filter I installed less than 2 months before. She quickly says, "Oh, I'm sorry. This is off the car next to yours." Not even the same make or model as my car.
I was busy again so I asked my son to take the car to the care center and have the oil changed with a coupon I had again. When I got off work I checked the oil as I always do when someone else has changed it because of a dealer that grossly overfilled and blew my head gasket. I noticed that the oil fill cap on the valve cover was missing. I called them and asked if they would happen to have it setting around the shop somewhere nope. The tech did remember it having one when we dropped it off but it was impossible that they were responsible for it being missing. I was the only one that opened the hood since the tech closed it less than four hours earlier. They would however sell me one for $20. One from an auto parts store was only 5-6 dollars.
I am well aware that nearly all the service centers operate this way. It's a sales-based industry and one where most customers are ignorant about how their cars operate. Which makes it very easy to take advantage of that ignorance. If I have any more tires that I believe are factory defects regardless of where I purchase them I will be taking them to small claims and posting more reviews based on what happens. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

I don't know where to begin with my frustration with Firestone at 1558 South Wabash, Chicago, IL. I struggle with writing this letter because I have nothing good to say. First, my husband contacted the company to see if we could bring my car in for inspection as we believed my battery was useless. This we explained before even walking in the door. We were told that we could bring the vehicle in as there was no wait; this was exciting as I was already late for work. When we got there, we were asked if we wanted to wait or be called be 10:30 with the results. We informed them we would leave the car and await the call, by 10:30. There was no call! I waited to around 11 and called myself to see what the finds were and was placed on hold and no one returned for about 10 minutes, so I hung up. Hoping that once they realized I had hung up, I would be called back but that did not happen.
So, I called back around 11 and spoke with a technician that told me that it was in fact my battery and the cost would be $188.00. I asked what this price included and was told the cost of the battery was $124 and the fee for the electrical battery test was $24.99 then taxes and fees. I wasn't happy so I indicated that I never asked for the electrical battery test, so he waived the fee. I agreed to have the battery changed out and stated I would be there to pick up the vehicle after 5. This is when the mess goes even further! I went onto Firestone's Website to see the difference in batteries and their prices. In order to do this, you have to enter the make/model, year and engine size. So I did! Only one battery came up for my size vehicle and the price was $99.99 and $14.99 to install. So I called back and spoke with a rep in relation to the quote found on their site.
He told me that the battery didn't fit my car. Again, wait what? I entered all the information that was required on the Firestone's site to provide the quote and only one battery came up that fit my car, so are you telling me that your site is incorrect? This guy went on and on trying to convince me, later to say they didn't have the battery and to bring in the quote and they would price adjust. That didn't happen! The same gentlemen indicated that the quote in which I had was not the correct battery. I asked why tell me to bring the quote if it wasn't going to be honored. He stated that he wanted to see the quote. I was so upset, I asked for my keys and left. My husband looked at the battery and saw that it was the same exact battery that was installed in my car, so he went back. He asked and was told that it was a difference in the battery.
The rep stated that the battery that was installed in my car was the Mega-Tron ll 24FR. My husband asked what 24 MFR meant, the guy provided no explanation just continued to say that it wasn't the same battery. My husband then asked why the article number for the battery in my car matched the article number on the coupon. The guy couldn't provide an explanation so he just refunded $20.00 to my Firestone account. This is horrible! How many people have they done this to? I feel like because I was a woman they just took advantage of me. I feel like Firestone is a ripoff! Why would you treat your customers like that? I trusted you all to provide me with quality and professionalism. I'm second guessing all the business that I have done with you all now and that's not good. I went here as usual for an oil change and tire rotation. They refused to rotate my tires claiming they were bald (no they weren't) and I really HAD to get new tires NOW... TODAY! I said I'd handle that later (tire gauge showed about 10 to 15,000 miles left on them). Asked them if they rotated the tires, they said "no." And they refused to do so. I paid and left, but later noted that they charged me $20 for a tire rotation! They saw my complaint on Yelp, and indicated that they wanted to resolve this and gave me a email. I sent a copy of the bill to them, but 1 1/2 billing cycles later, I still see no $20 credit. I even indicated that Yelp is just a start, and I know how to use the internet, and don't let the cane fool you - I have a big mouth. I'm on a roll to make sure they lose $20 of business, if not more. Yes I'm a millionaire, and YES! $20 is a big deal to me! That's part of how I got there.

He opened my driver side door and slammed it into the post that supports the weight of the vehicle putting a huge dent/scratch in the paint. He also was covered in oil and jumped into my truck covered in oil getting oil all over the seats. He left an oil rags in the cup holder. Then when he was backing the truck out he hit my mirror on the same post he smashed my door into. When I ran out there and confronted him about it he dropped a bottle of pain killers/** and says "ya I probably shouldn't be working on this medication." Also in the engine compartment they didn't secure the plastic cover over the motor that was also covered in oil.

Prior to going to FIRESTONE I purchased 4 brand new tires from Tireland USA and there was no noted, discovered or felt problems on my car, but only took it there to (FIRESTONE) to be realigned due to the new tires. I took my car to FIRESTONE at 3:54 p. m and was checked out at 4:16 p. m, which to me seemed fast for an alignment which typically takes about an hour. After leaving the store I took the car for a test drive on the highway because I heard the technician complaining about me because I often have my car repairs done elsewhere because it's cheaper and only bring my car there for the alignment service because it is economical.
While test driving my car I noticed that my steering wheel was shaking very bad when I press on the brakes. So I took the car back and told the service tech about the problem and insisted that they place the car back on the lift to ensure the they tightened all of the bolts back up. When the technician placed the car on the lift he told me that the shaking was due to my driver's side wheel bearing being broken. I explained to the technician that my car drove just fine before I brought it there and asked him if my wheel bearing was broken then how were they able to align the car in the first place and asked why they allowed me to leave the store without providing this information to me. The tech just smiled and said, "We didn't sabotage your car, sir."
I explained to him that the reason for my concern was due to a previous experience back in March or April in which I took my wife's car to the same FIRESTONE for an alignment and was told that they could not complete the service because her wheel bearing was bad and that I had to fix it first. In that case they provided me with a quote, so I took the car to personal mechanic. Had the car fixed and aligned the next day.
Additionally the technician called the police on me because I didn't want to leave until I spoke with upper management. They said me being there was not a good look for customers coming in and my demeanor was not polite. I have All paperwork and pointed out discrepancies in the times listed on my receipt, and the actual alignment paper that shows a different time of service and also shows that the left front wheel was adjusted which is also the wheel bearing in question. However when my service was complete the technician stated that they adjusted my passenger side wheel, which was the only tire out of line. Stay away from this place if you can. They prey on people's ignorance.

Made an appointment two days early for 8 am. Dropped the car off at 8 am for an AC check. Called back at 12:30 to see what they had found - they hadn't even looked at it. Two hours later they call and tell me what the situation is and I OK the work. They call back an hour later to say they found more problems. I ask how long it will take and he says, "end of the day." End of the day, they call to say "it will be tomorrow. Will be done by noon."
At 1:30, I call and they still haven't finished. They tell me, "Give us 45 minutes and it will be done." I wait TWO hours and show up at 3:30. Guess what? Car is still not done. The excuse? They confused my RAV4 with a Volvo that actually was done. It's going to take THREE more hours to finish. Final word - do NOT take your car to these people if you want: A: timely service B: straight answers C: a decent price.

I have a 2014 Jeep Compass that was making odd noises when you accelerated so we took it to Firestone for diagnostics. They ended up telling us that it was a bad clutch bearing. We thought that was weird since the vehicle only has 45,000 miles but we trusted that they knew what they were talking about. So Firestone replaced the clutch kit, charging us $1000 to do it. When we picked up they told us it was still making the noise and they didn't know what it was. We were pretty upset that they charged us this money and didn't even fix the issue we brought it to them to fix in the first place but we paid them and took it home anyway. When I put it in reverse the gears grinded but I stupidly drove it home anyway. I also noticed that the clutch seemed really loose. Over the next couple days shifting into reverse and first gear became increasingly difficult until we could not put it into first at all.
We called Firestone and they had a tow truck come and pick it up. After a couple days they called us and said there was nothing wrong (except the noise of course that they never fixed). So we went to pick it up again and sure enough, it shifted just fine with no issues. Firestone claimed that they did nothing but my husband and I both observed the issues and it wouldn't have fixed itself. I believe Firestone messed up from the beginning and didn't want to admit it. Bottom line is these people are dishonest and don't know what they are doing. They made a GUESS as to what was wrong with my vehicle, and they were wrong and charged me anyway, and on top of that didn't even do - that might the first time!

I purchased a full set of tires a while back. They were on the car a week and one of them kept losing pressure. I took the car back 2 times and was told someone must be letting the air out. Well, I live in the woods so I know that is not the case. The 3rd visit, they decided to rotate them and see if that would help, not sure how, but that is what happened. Now the front right tire leaks, where they put it during rotation. I have since been back to the shop, 5 times and guess what, I still have leaking tire. They can't seem to find why this is happening. So now they want me to buy another tire with my warranty.
Since this was not happening to any tires, prior to them working on my car, I am not sure why I should have to pay for more work. I have been a Firestone CC holder for probably 15 years and used your stores. At this point, I am so disappointed that I will be cancelling my Firestone card and moving on to a company with better standards for customer loyalty. I will now take my car to a different shop in the morning to determine why I am losing 12 psi each week in my tire. But my guess is that when they put the new tires on, they cracked the rim and just refuse to admit it. But we will soon see. SMH!!

Stay far far away from Firestone on General Booth Blvd in Virginia Beach! I have had nothing but issues every time they touch my truck! A few months ago I went in for brake service. When I picked up my truck I had ZERO brake pressure. I took it right back (seconds later) I was told that I needed a new master cylinder. I'm not a mechanic but I'm also not an idiot. After having to question the work and techs, they finally admitted they blew it due to a high amount of hydraulic pressure. I was then told they didn't have the part and would need my truck overnight. Seriously now I was left with no transportation because of this! I still gave them another chance. Went in for 4 new tires and an A/C check. Again I was told my compressor was shot and needed to be replaced. Turns out all I needed was a recharge!!!
They almost cost me several hundred dollars for nothing! And once again on 7/5/2016 I took my truck for an oil change. Less than 2 weeks later my truck is not running! They did not "top off my fluids" as they advertise and I had ZERO transmission fluid! I called and asked the manager Bill about this and he was almost verbally abusive and stated "are you trying to blame my techs for your transmission issues." Well actually YES I am! Had my fluid levels been checked as part of what I paid for maybe my truck would be fine! I was about 45 minutes away from home when my truck began to act up. I was on the side of the highway with my children in the dark. $300 for a tow. Thanks to them! I've sent an e-mail to corporate and I guess they don't care! Do not trust Firestone!!! They don't stand behind the PAYING customer. They will lie and support crap work from the techs!

We'd like to thank Dan at the Covington Firestone. Although the problem with our truck wasn't resolved, Dan took swift corrective action in not charging us for what was misdiagnosed. His actions ensured that we will remain customers with Firestone for a long time. Thanks, Dan and staff.

My husband took our truck into Covington, WA, service center because of intermittent problems with truck almost stalling out/running rough and engine light blinking. Over a thousand dollars later and problem still exists. We took it in a couple of times, and they kept it overnight, but they claim they don't see what the problem is. Plus, they replaced things that didn't need replacing. Come to find out the problem might be with the coils and it will cost maybe $200 at the most. This came from a friend who also repairs cars for a living. Never again will we do business with them. They want your money rather than trying to find the real problem. We only went to them because we have a Firestone credit card.

They didn't even try to find out who they gave it to or replace it. I would never go back there again or recommend this place to anybody else. Check your items when you get them back and make sure they are yours before you go home with someone else's old and used stuff, 'cause they sure won't do anything about it. After waiting an hour, he comes over and tells me my right wheel is in need of an alignment which is an additional $89. I had already waited an hour and had an appointment so I said no. A couple of years ago I went in for fuel line issues. It took EIGHT return trips till I gave up and went to the dealer who fixed it that afternoon. Now I bring it in for hard starting, a tune up, oil change & ac check. When I left it not only did it still have hard starting, but the idle was too low and cut out. It took over a minute for me to get it started again- at a stop light and had to rev the engine just to get it back to their shop. I did not have this problem before. The only reason why I didn't give one star is because both times they have promised to make it right or like last time they eventually gave me full credit towards other future repairs.

Firestone located at 7085 E. Main St, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. I purchased 4 tires which I am very satisfied with. I knew I had a leak in heating/temperature valve which they replaced. Also they said an idler arm needed replacing which they did. Here is where things took a turn for the worse. The blower controls are stuck on the defrost setting. I was told they would have to remove the dashboard to fix it. Also was told that all the brake hoses were leaking, the rear caliper was seized and they would not even be able to remove them with a blowtorch (BLOWTORCH?!).
Estimate was $1,130.00 plus, depending on what they had to do to get the hoses off. We are retired and on a strict budget so needless to say I was very distressed by this news. Talking with a friend he referred us to a very reliable mechanic that did an inspection for us. The idler arm was missing the grease fitting so he fixed that for us. He also found no cracks in any of the five flexible hoses and no rusted/corroded fittings that would impede any type of replacement. Reading many of the other stories here it seems hopeless that anything can be done as far as getting the damage inflicted to the AC rectified. I will not let them work on the car anymore, but I feel they should reimburse the costs I incur getting them fixed. I can mail you a copy of the receipt.

If you use Firestone... BEWARE! Today was the third time I took one of our vehicles into the Overton Ridge Firestone store to have a nail removed from a tire. And for the third time there was a reason it had to be replaced, and each time it was after the tire was already off the car or truck. Long story short, the first time I ended up buying a new set of tires as the old ones did have some wear on them. The second time I made them put the tire back on and took it to Costco.
Today they first told me that the nail went in at an angle and tore up the inside of the tire. When I got back to the shop, I wanted to see massive internal damage on the inside of the tire. Now the story changed and there were two nails. One went straight in and the other, about an inch or so away went in at an angle. Either way there was no damage. They couldn't just plug them because it was not within the guidelines published by "the tire manufacturers association."
So the people who manufacture and sell tires are making the determination what can be repaired and what has to be replaced, and of course they are right on top of that. What a bunch of BS. So they used the tire warranty to sell me a tire at the discounted price of $54 plus, of course, every little tack on charge they can think of... Then to top it off they charged me for a new road hazard warranty to the tune of $25. So I left there spending an extra $125 over the $25 state inspection I initially stopped there for.
My experience with Firestone as an organization is that they are dishonest and deceitful. I will never use them (or the Overton Ridge store) again and will make every effort to make sure that everybody I know understands that, as well as blogging this story on every social media site I can find. It boggles the mind, but imagine just how many people they've deceived and how much money they've made doing it. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Living in South Florida it can get very hot in the summer. Humidity is the real killer. My a/c on my vehicle stopped blowing cold air at idle (red lights or traffic). Forgetting I knew a mechanic, I drove it in to a Firestone to have a diagnostic done to confirm what I thought was the issue. I am pretty savvy with auto repairs so I just wanted to make sure before I started buying parts. Anyways, they told me I needed the following: a/c compressor, a/c condenser, drier, evaporator core and finally the expansion valve. The estimate was at $1,486.72. Coincidentally when I said hell no and left, my a/c just stopped blowing cold air completely.
I quickly called the mechanic and he told me to just drive it in and he'll take a look. It turns out it was just my a/c compressor clutch and a/c condenser fan. After he provided me service is came out to a whopping $192 (vacuuming and recharging the system included). My a/c is working back to normal and all for under $200. Beware of these scammers and bottom feeders.

I have been a Firestone customer for over 20 years. I recently moved to the Nashua NH and was happy they had a local Firestone. I went in once for tires...got a quote, and then after leaving the car got a phone call with the "bait and switch" tire option. I went back a few months later for a state inspection sticker. I was told the wheel bearings were bad, the suspension was bad, the control arms were bad, and the brakes were bad. I pointed out that ALL of those components were replaced within the past year, and some the week just before the service appt. The service writer insisted that his technicians were not wrong. I paid and told them I would take the vehicle to a garage that was at least smart enough to look for new parts before making bogus quotes. I barely got into traffic when I realized the manual transmission would only shift 2 gears. One of the shift linkages was sheared off.
I zip-tied the two pieces together and limped home. Later I installed a replacement linkage. I waited a week, returned to Firestone (despite my pride) and told them everything was replaced. They said they could now see that everything was fixed, but tried to fail me for other issues that they could still "fix" for me, but I insisted that those "issues" would have been caught previously and they were just gouging me. Then the technician comes in and says "the piece of ** Saab doesn't even have reverse". I demand to inspect the vehicle before they push it out. The shift linkage is broken...AGAIN. They tell me it was like that when it came in...**. Luckily I still had the zip-tied original linkage in the trunk, but I was packed and ready for a weekend getaway and not happy to have to limp around again. They refused to install it without charging me. I reached in and replaced it myself, burning my arms several times.
I drive off and notice a nauseating raw gas smell. Several miles later, when the smell has not subsided, I realize the smell is my own car. I look underneath and gas is pouring from the tank! I can clearly see where they placed the lift arm under the plastic tank instead of the lift point. I rushed back, furious. They again say that I drove it in that way. This leak was so bad that it left a wet trail behind me, and my full tank was down to 1/4. So I insist that I will report them to the State Motor Division for passing a vehicle with a highly-dangerous issue. Then they retract and say it must have happened after I left, "since Saabs are such pieces of junk". (This may be a good time to point out that at least 4 of their technicians drive newer Subaru WRXs, very uniquely decorated, which had repeatedly passed me with their middle fingers out when I first moved into town).
Well at this point my girlfriend is crying from utter frustration with them, my yelling has attracted the attention of all of their customers, and the "manager" of the store is insisting I leave before they call the police and charge me for trespassing. I told them not to bother, I was already dialing the number myself. So NOW they want to bring the car in and inspect it. They put it on the lift and ask me to come look. I can see quite clearly that they have wiped the lift arm marks off of the tank. They suggest that I leave the car and they will contact me with a quote to replace the tank and all of the fuel lines. Hell no.
I sent an email to Firestone Customer Relations. They put me into contact with a "regional manager" who not so ironically manages all 3 of the local stations, including the Nashua location. I told him that I wanted reimbursement for all of the damages and half a tank of gas. He insists he would look into the matter and get back to me. (insert sound of crickets chirping). I tried to call him again, but he was always busy and would have to call me back. (again, insert sound of crickets chirping).

I felt pretty silly when I booked it in explaining that there were 2 sizes of wheel and they were directional. I did not check when I left but when driving the car home it was pulling to one side and felt wrong. I put this down to the changeover and maybe my driving? They did put the tires on correctly when I went back and were apologetic. At 5:12 pm the same day I took my customer to the Firestone store to pick up his vehicle. ** inform us that he could not find the ticket, that he was going out in the shop to find it. 10 minutes later he came back in with the ticket and inform us the alignment had not been done. I ask if the balance and rotate had been done and he had to go back out in the shop to ask whoever if that had been done. When calling Firestone customer service, they say "we have created the complaint and someone from upper management will call you within 24-48 hours", which is a JOKE. I have had ZERO calls from anyone other than the store manager. I am calling Fox on your side to get this on the News, and also calling my credit card company and dispute the charge. "On Thursday 1/28/16 I had your Naples Florida store at 5495 Airport road N., Naples 34109 replace my standard OEM tires (Goodyear) with your Firehawk Wide Oval run flats. I must tell you that this store is probably the most unprofessional store I have ever been in. I was dealing with I believe **, who I thought was the store manager. He gave me the pricing and I said "ok lets do it". When the car was done I paid and took the car for a drive to see if I liked the tires. I noticed the high pressure tires light came on. I checked the computer and they all showed 40-41 psig. I have a 2012 Corvette, and the tires should be 30 psig all the way around. The computer showed the left front being the high pressure. I stopped and let a little air out of the left tire. I drove the car again and the light came back on.
When checking the computer, it showed still 41 psig in the left front, but the right front now showed 2 lbs less than before. Bottom line was the left sensor was showing the right front tire etc. I called the store and they said "bring it back". ** was gone so another guy had me pull the car over to a bay, where he checked the tires, and they were 11 psig over inflated. He yelled to the guy at the tire mounting and balancing saying your gauge is off by 10 psig. He adjusted the tire pressure, and recalibrated the sensors. I asked how do we know that the sensors are now actually reading properly, and he responded with an attitude "Because I just recalibrated them". He didn't take any air out of one tire to see if it showed that on the computer, he just said "you're all set". I left and drove home with no high pressure light as now the computer showed 30 psig on all 4.
On Friday 1/29/16 I had to go up to Tampa as my mom was having surgery. I took the Corvette, and at 60+ I had a terrible vibration in the steering wheel, and the wheel when driving straight was cocked to the left (not straight). I called ** and he said bring it back in and they would check the balancing. I went to Tampa, and took the car in on Saturday morning 1/30/16 to check the balancing. ** was there and I asked if he wanted to go for a drive so I could show him the problem. He said "no, let us rebalance them and fix the steering wheel, and then we will see if the problem goes away." I went to eat at a diner next to the Firestone shop. After a few minutes I saw the manager drive away in my car. He returned in less than 5 minutes.
I finished eating and went back to Firestone. I asked a guy at the desk what they found on my car and he told me that they had to calibrate the balancing machine, then it showed my tires needed more weights. I asked ** what the guy found when driving my car, and he said it was fine per the test drive. It was the same guy who adjusted the tire pressure on my tires after the mounting. I asked if he took it on the highway since the vibration was in excess of 60 miles an hour. He said no, he took it around the block, which is a 45 mph zone. While sitting in the waiting area, ** and the guy who took my car for a ride got into a loud conversation, which got louder and began getting out of hand.
Finally they went into the shop and the guy talking to ** got very loud and was pointing his finger at ** and yelling. I could hear just fine even through the glass sitting in the waiting area with the TV on. After a few minutes ** came in and asked if I wanted to go for a drive to check the car. While in the car I asked if he (**) was the store manager, or the other guy whom he was arguing with? ** told me that the other guy was the manager. I took the car on route 75 and took it up to 90 mph, with seems like good results. The wheel is straight now, and I did feel some vibration, but minimal so ** and I agreed for me to drive it a while and monitor the situation.
Bottom line is that ** was great, and so far I like the tires. As for being run as a professional establishment, far from it. The manager was NOT helpful, and he didn't even speak with me about the problems. His actions in the front counter and waiting area arguing very loudly was not how a manager should handle a situation, and it doesn't go over well in front of customers. At the time of purchase, ** told me that if I didn't like the Firehawks after 30 days let him know and he would put me in something else. I was not sure about the Firehawks as I had the original Goodyears on my car. I didn't get that in writing as I thought ** was the manager, now I wish I had asked for that. So far I like the tires, but I am not sure if I will ever go back to that Firestone store. I surely won't tell anyone to go there."

I told him "no I didn't," and my car didn't indicate anything wrong with it. He then said "I am sorry" when I gave him attitude about it. When the mechanic came out I questioned him about it, and he said "No nothing is wrong with your car". Sad thing is they were taking advantage of the flooding situation we had here in Houston. And in the area I live and work we didn't have standing water.

It NEVER fails that EVERY time I go to Firestone I have an issue & the "lifetime" alignment is a joke. First of all, because they know they won't be making $ on it, they try to find out if you have lifetime before making an appointment & if you do, you're at their mercy for an appointment. Once the appointment has been made and you're at the designated location, you sit for hours only to hear..."We can't do the alignment because you need..." then before leaving you get the "list" of the expensive "recommendations."
It's happened to me today and that makes THREE times total. Today they lost my tire lock that was supposed to be put back in the trunk where they got it but it's not ANYWHERE in my car. After calling, I was told it was in the passenger seat but guess what...? It's NOT there either. I truly hope upon my return they will have it. I try to give them the benefit of doubt & hope for a better experience but to no avail. If I have to suffer this type of service for a "lifetime"... I'm done. It's just not worth it!!!

I took my truck to Firestone repair center for tie rod end replacement and alignment. After inspecting vehicle, they called and quoted me $369.00 for the work. I agreed to the price. When I arrived to pick vehicle up after the work was complete, they presented me with a bill for $468.00. They jacked for a hundred additional bucks without notifying me. No additional work over what was quoted was performed. I have never had any repair shop do this to me and I consider it absolutely unethical. I will never spend another dime with Firestone.

I had a leaking fuel line, but because I had surgery on my arm I was unable to crawl under the car to check exactly where it was. I know it was just under the rear driver side door. Took it to Firestone to have it fixed where I got that famous call, "Well you need ALL the lines replaced." I was charged $1100 for the repair of the fuel line. Also somehow a brake line was broken during the repair process, which I was told was taken care of for free. But that's not all. When I went and got the car, I also found that the driver side rocker panel trim on the bottom was busted and hanging off. I went back to Firestone the exact same day I got the car, took the employee out to show it, and was told there was nothing they could do. And by the look on the employee's face I knew for a fact they were not going to do anything so I had to pay to get that fixed as well.

When I bought my car 3 years ago (2013 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid), I was sold by Firestone a lifetime alignment in Santee when I took it there for an oil change. On April 3, 2016, I called Santee Firestone and asked, "Do you have time for an alignment?" I was told that there were no more appointments available but if I was willing to leave my car the entire day they would get the work done. I was told they would call me if the car was done sooner. I dropped off my car before noon and took my 2 girls (11 and 5 yrs old) across the street for lunch and do some shopping (we have 6 hours to kill). At 4:30 I received a call, I didn't have a chance to answer it (it only rang twice), no voice mail was left. I called back, no answer. We walked backed to Firestone.
I got there and was told that they would not get to my car today. I asked, "Then why did you take my car in the first place? I have been walking around with my kids for 4 1/2 hours?" His response was, "I didn't know you were going to be walking around." "So, if I had waited in your lobby you would have gotten to my car?" There was a girl in the front lobby (got the feeling it was his girlfriend), less messing around and more focus on work - my car would have been completed. It is a front end alignment that shouldn't have take more than a few hour TOPS, and if he didn't have time for it he (Chris) should have told me so on the phone. The drive is 20 miles one way. THANKS FOR WASTING MY ENTIRE SUNDAY!
So after the Santee experience, the following Monday I went online and scheduled an appointment for the Firestone on C Street and Park Blvd - Downtown. Due to downtown traffic I was running about 10 min late, so I called. The guy that answered the phone said, "No problem, we will be here." I get there 5:10 pm and then had to wait another 20 min. due to an unhappy customer yelling at the same guy I spoke to on the phone. I waited patiently. Then when the guy finally got to me, he said, "You don't have an appointment. I noticed that when I was speaking to you on the phone." "Why didn't you say something to me then?" He said, "I don't know." He told me my appointment was cancelled because the front end alignment takes a min. of 2 1/2 hours to complete. I asked, "Then why didn't someone call or email me?"... Again, "I don't know."
Firestone sold me the LIFETIME FRONT END ALIGNMENT 3 years ago and now they don't want to do the work. I have called both times before showing up and I get nothing but lies. I just bought my tires and need a front end alignment... I guess I will have to go to a different company and pay again. FIRESTONE IS A RIPOFF!!!

Firestone had been my company preference where my tire needs were concerned. In fact I can't remember buying tires from anyone else. Although I paid a higher price it was always offset by good service. The Firestone Service Center at 2704 Flower Mound Rd in Flower Mound, Texas (Managing Partner **) recently installed two new front tires for me. Before leaving they informed me my tire pressure sensor wasn't functioning but should work itself out within 24 hours. This seemed to be accurate as the sensor came on later that evening. Unfortunately, over the next couple of weeks it began working intermittently and then finally stopped working completely. I called twice and was told to bring the car in.
When I finally had a chance to bring it in they asked me if I used "fix-a-flat" on the tire which I didn't. I was dealing with a young lady when a gentleman came out and began talking to me about the issue. He never identified himself but I saw his photo on the wall and it was the managing partner, **. He told me that fix-a-flat often contributes to sensor malfunctions which made sense to me. Since I am not an expert on tires and related issues I asked why I wasn't told this before I left with my new tires when they knew the sensor wasn't working. I did not receive an adequate response. I asked if the fix-a-flat was definitely the issue and he continued on to say it could be the battery. Finally I told them it worked fine when I brought the car in and did not work when I left. Without missing a beat Mr. ** responded, "I don't know how it got broke, but we didn't break it."
The comment was disingenuous but more importantly contradictory. I am not unreasonable however, in my opinion, Firestone shares some of the responsibility for not communicating this to me at the time of service. In addition it is my opinion that had I known this we could have remedied the situation then and there rather than requiring another visit and additional wait time. I would have been happy to purchase the sensor if they would have installed without charge which, after researching the installation would have taken all of ten minutes. However I was not given that option. In fact, I was not given any options at all other than replace the sensor and pay for the service. Finally, Mr. **’s attitude and approach was unprofessional. I will NEVER buy another tire from Firestone again and I urge any customers thinking about tires to look elsewhere.

GOLD Rewards member here (means I spent a bunch of bucks) at Firestone and mostly was satisfied but recent rear drum brake replacement at No. Smithfield, RI store and courtesy check at Providence, RI means I won't be spending any more there. Rear brake replacement (with a confirmed appointment) took 3 hrs after being promised it would only be 1 hour. Mgr had this lame excuse.."you know how these things are". So I thought, well hell with that store and went to Providence store for scheduled oil change. Seemed fine. Go for next oil change at Pvd and didn't get discount w/ coupon. Courtesy check revealed nail in one rear tire.
Tire mgr. Joseph said it was too near the sidewall to repair and tried selling me 4 new tires, then 2 for the rear, then just one to replace the one w/ nail in it. I said "no just do the oil change." Turns out the nail was in the center which could have been easily plugged or patched. Gold members get free flat repair. Yeah right!! Filed complaint w/ corporate about Joe's dishonesty and currently waiting for area mgr Keith to call. After reading some of the other reviews here, not really expecting that call. My van was leaking gasoline immediately after or while I was filling my tank. I had 2 friends look at it and tell me it was the hose going from where you pump gas into the tank, a.k.a. the fill line hose. I took my customized wheelchair van into Firestone to have it fixed. I told them the situation. They seemed to ignore me when I spoke, they just seemed to hear leaking gas. They inspected my van and insisted I need to replace my fuel tank. I reluctantly agree to spend $1863 to replace it. It takes 2-weeks for the part to arrive. I make the appointment since they called me to say the new tank was in.
I bring in my minivan at 8 am, like they insisted. They removed my old tank immediately. Then I waited. And waited. After 4 hours I go ask "what's the wait for". The manager on duty made me wait until the other manager returned from lunch. She returned after another hour plus and had me wait another 20 minutes while she called to see when my tank would be delivered. What? I made an appointment because they finally had a new custom tank. Now I wait 5+ hours for it to be delivered. Finally it arrives. Job finished rather quickly, but 7 hours in total.
A week later I fill my tank, starts leaking worse than before. I go in and show them. They say they can't do anything with a full tank, come back once my tank is closer to empty. It stops leaking by the following morning. I finally use up my tank, make an appointment, and bring it in at 8 am again. This time I leave it. I call them at 12 noon. They say they are taking it to put gas in to see where its leaking from. What? I brought it in leaking and was told they needed it empty, now they're putting in gas to see where the leak is! So at the 12 noon call I'm told they're putting in gas. Give them 45 minutes. I decide to wait.
They call me back at 7 pm (closing time?) to ask if they can keep it overnight, it'll be ready by 9 am. I wanted sleep on my Saturday so replied, "can you pick me up at 10:30 instead?" "Sure, sure, 10:30" he replied. Finally at nearly 1 pm I had my van. Well, took my car to get gas today, guess what. It started leaking right after we put gas in! I paid over $2000, plus all my lost time. I need this fixed! Yes, I'm a quadriplegic in a powdered wheelchair, not a moron! I need a converted van to get to and from work!

My family's been going here for oil changes for a while and they've been fine. Yesterday my 17-year-old daughter brought her car in for an oil change and while she was there they did a check on her battery and told her it needed to be replaced. The receipt reads "OE CCA 550, MEASURED 385 CCA, RATED 550 CCA, REPLACE BATTERY."
The car is a 2014 Hyundai Accent. She knew the battery shouldn't be failing. When she questioned Mike, she was told that "even though the car is a 2014, it probably shipped in 2013 and is therefore 3 years old and most people prefer to replace their battery about once every three years." When she told me this, the first thing I did was call the store and ask for help in deciphering the date sticker on the battery. I was told that they "didn't know how to read the code because all they deal with are interstate batteries." Now I'll admit I don't know much about batteries but I do know this is a required, standardized code common to all batteries, not just a particular brand and I was just told they couldn't read that code? Definitely threw a red flag up. Oh, and according to the sticker, the battery was shipped from the factory with the car in June of 2014 (F/45), so it isn't even 2 years old yet.
I had my daughter bring the car into 2 separate places to have it tested today. What we found out is even more concerning: That CCA code of 550 they had on the receipt... wrong. While some cars have the 550 CCA battery, hers does not. THE first thing on the yellow battery sticker says 410 CCA. Since the recommendation of a new battery is based on the difference between the RATED CCA and the MEASURED CCA, the determination to the customer to change the battery is severely off if the wrong RATED CCA is used. So, with a RATED CCA of 410 and a MEASURED CCA of 385, her battery is working fine and there's no reason to replace it.
Also, both of the other places showed a MEASURED reading of 409 CCA, not 385 as Firestone had read. If this is how they normally test and recommend services to their customers, does that mean that any car without a 'standardized' CCA is told they need to replace their batteries? According to what just happened to us, the answer is Yes.

I called March the 14th 2016 and they said they had it in stock and it would be $201 mounted and balanced. I had the flat tire in my other truck so it would be easy for them. As I pulled up at 9am a guy came to the door and told me they were real busy and would not be able to replace the tire for 2 to 3 days, which is damn silly for a wheel of the vehicle!!
I speak to the manager and told him that when I spoke to someone 1/2 hour earlier they promised it would be done by the next morning. The manager agreed and then when he saw the wheel was a 16" wheel of a dually he told me that they cant even dismount the tire. Mount a new one OR balance it, BUT they could sell me a tire. I could not believe my ears. They cant work on a 16" wheel? I refrained from cursing the manager out and asked him if he's asking me to take my money elsewhere. He didnt comment. I left and went to a private garage who had the same tire in an hour and mounted and balanced while I waited since it was already off the Ford making it easy to "Fit in" for $20 LESS than the Firestone quote. Drove off and got on the highway and car is still pulling, though not as bad, but still pulling and steering wheel is still not centered. Took it back the next day and they said I need to rotate and balance the tires.
I explained to them that I had done it the morning before at Discount Tire before I took it into Firestone. He then changes his story telling me that alignment won't fix the pull and I need to address my tires. Ironic how I came in because of a pull and they tell me I need an alignment, but when that is not address they flip things around and tell me now after I pay close to $200 that an alignment won't fix it. I had to drive a trailer loaded with kid's suitcase's from my church over 65 miles on the highway to a camp in Indiana, leave it there and pick it up the following Mon. I brought my truck to Firestone of Lisle, IL on 2/11/2016 to have them check and repair the trailer connections and wiring on my Ford truck. I was told that they can do that. I told them to just replace everything. When I picked up the truck they had spliced a new 3 pin connection to the old wiring and left it dangling (not secured to the truck). The other, round connection, was not replaced. They told me they cleaned it up and that it should work. When I connected the trailer to the truck at about 4:00pm, the lights on the trailer did not work. I called Firestone and asked if I could bring it back and was told that there was no one available. I went to another place to try to get it fixed but they were closed by the time I got there at 5:00pm.
I had no choice but to drive the trailer with no brake, turn, etc. lights over 65 miles in the dark. The trailer was big enough to prevent anyone from seeing the lights on my truck. I had to go pick up the trailer that Mon. and did not want to take another chance driving on the highway with no lights, so on Sun morning at 11:30 when I should have been serving at my church for services, I went to Farm and Fleet in Montgomery, IL and they replaced everything, mounted it correctly and made sure all the lights worked. I did not want to take a chance of another poor job from Firestone. Those lights are very, very important. Firestone charged me $139 and did not repair the issues. Farm and Fleet charged my $60 and corrected all issues.
Firestone refuses to refund my money but instead want to issue me store credit. Why would I want to trust them to work on my truck again? On another occasion, they damaged my dashboard. They didn't say anything and left it for me to find. They said they would clean it but when I went back, it was not cleaned, but I needed the truck so I agreed to bring it back another day. Once again, it was not fully repaired and I was told to bring it back another day. While discussing the trailer issues with a rep from Firestone, he implied that I was lying about everything.

Took the car 8:30 am for oil change, fluid replenishment, tire rotation, inspection of brakes and wheel alignment (I have paid for a for life one). Someone drove me to drop the car in. Five hours expected service time. Right after lunch they said (they apparently wrote 3:00PM, on the sheet without telling me). At 3:00 a friend drives me to pick up the car. They haven't done anything!!! Reason: "The wheel alignment machine broke". I wonder since when they change oil and replenish fluids in the wheel alignment machine? Also apparently The Firestone at Glades Rd rotates tires and inspects brakes after they align the wheels. Wow that is strange and backwards!
In other words 5 unrelated operations get delayed because 1 machine breaks. The worst! "Why don't you go somewhere, we'll call you back as soon as we are done in about 90!" Yeah, right. I have all the time in the world. Problem is I am in the good client list! Those that don't complain! So delay him. Respond to the punks or the friends. The good guys will take it! Sorry lost two clients! And will make it a point to tell everyone I know, about my dissatisfying experience. By the way the friend that drove me there to pick up said: "Are you crazy? You still bring the cars here? I bet you is not ready!" He won! Going to the competitor and so should you! When companies get big they figure they got leverage on customers and mistreat them, when they fail.. they wonder who took their clients? Nobody! You drove them away!

I knew my car needed an alignment. I purchased the lifetime alignment package from Firestone. When I came to pick up the vehicle, they told me it needed new parts before it could be aligned 100%. I took it to a local mechanic for a quote on the parts. The local mechanic said no new parts were needed, and that they could align the wheels as is. After reading other Consumer Affairs reviews, I'm beginning to suspect Firestone scams their customers into alignment packages in order to sell them other services, whether they are needed or not.

My car started to smoke under the hood as I was driving. I was one red light from a mechanic shop, unfortunately, Firestone. I dropped the car off and the mechanic said that he would see why there was smoke from under the hood. Well the radiator hose had busted. Therefore, due to the hose separation, I was charged an extra $79 as a diagnostic test. I inquired about the this charge because it is unethical and ripoff.
Arrogant manager, Jaime **, stated he charged because he has it written down as a diagnostic test. However, the results are hand written with a pen busted hose. This person is the worst because of his zero customer service skills. He does not listen nor does he care. This place is a flat rip off. Where is the class action lawsuit for this place? On Thursday, 10/15/15, I experienced a blowout on the interstate. My insurance company recommended the car be towed to a nearby Firestone (#7447) in Dallas. I requested oil change since I had, what was described as a potential "hour wait" anyways (which turned into ~3 hours). Every time I've visited a Firestone in the past, I was offered some additional service after inspection. Well not this day. After paying for services and leaving, I noticed a continued "ticking noise" as if I was still in need of an oil change. I called the store and asked the manager, Randy, if there were issues with my vehicle?... His response, "No it's fine... Are you asking because of the ticking noise?" I said, "Exactly." Randy: "Your was a little low when it came in but there's no leak or anything so it's fine." Well, from there I drove home to prepare for work send then to work... Ticking noise continued.
I got off of work at 10 pm and got onto the interstate where the noise grew to what I'd describe as a lawn mower and a go cart. After trying to drive to a safe area on the service road, my engine completely shuts down. We pushed my car to a garage, only to notice a puddle of oil and a trail following the car. I'm like "What in the hell?!" I contacted Firestone the following morning and spoke with Randy. His immediate response: "Oook... Well your car was low on oil when you brought it in and we typically don't perform an oil change when that's the case but I guess I should've told you that before now." I asked that they look to see what went wrong because clearly something had happened. They sent a tow truck (which apparently they thought I was going to pay) and randomly find a crack in my "upper oil pan".
Randy's conclusion: Oh something flew up and hit it during my commute to work. Are you kidding me right now?! I contacted Consumer Affairs, asked that the area manager, Steve **, be contacted after Randy lied to me about his name being Carl. They claimed to send someone out from claims to take apart the engine to find out the origin of issue per my request. It's basically Wed., 10/21/15 (actually 10/20 but 10pm CST) and I've yet to have 1 person reach out to me. I'm in a rental. And I am VERY displeased. As of tomorrow, this entire situation will be turned over to my lawyer. I've held regard for Firestone until now.

I had gone to Firestone two years ago for a revving engine and was told I needed a new clutch. I went to two other garages and found out it was a faulty intake valve and not the clutch. A week ago, on October 7th, my clutch pedal couldn't be depressed and I couldn't drive my car. I had to get a tow at 4:30 in the morning to Firestone. The manager informed me that I needed a new clutch after two years. They never asked my permission to put the new clutch in until they had already started putting the new one in. When I asked them how I could need a new clutch after two years and told me that I had driven it hard in the two years since the first one had been put in. I needed a tire looked at that had a slow leak, and had one that had a bump in it. I took my 1995 Monte Carlo to the Firestone on Government St. in Mobile Alabama. The tire was kind of expensive but the clerk up front said they would pull ALL tires off and inspect them for free. They finished, I paid and left. When I got home I realized the mag wheel cap was put back on slightly cockeyed. So I took it off and put it on right. Later that night coming home I heard something hit the car after running over some of the bumpy roads. When I got home I looked and was missing one of the mag wheel caps. I looked on the passenger side and one of those two were put on wrong. I fixed it. So I go up and told them, being very polite. I even told them Walmart had made the same mistake and had to replace one. They were NOT happy but agreed to buy the missing cap.
A week later I called to see if it came in. The guy said "Oh, you're the guy that said we put on your cap wrong when we didn't even take your tire off?" I was pissed. So I go down there. Had to stand there looking like I'm a common thief because I wanted a new cap. The whole time pleading my case. So the cap stayed on for 5 years and just decided to fall off after your idiot worked on my tires. The guy doing the paperwork (slowly) said "I saw your car on the lift, and it had all the cap". I was like OMFG!! I guess they think I collect Monte Carlo mag wheel caps for some strange reason. I'm pretty sure their insurance paid the 43.99 for the cap. But to argue with me and insult me when I KNOW they were too stupid to put the caps on right... Oh... And the bump is STILL in one tire.

I took my car in for replacement of a front end suspension part & when quoted a very high cost compared to other local auto repair shops I was told by Johnny, service advisor/tech, that "...we only use OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) parts that cost more than 'aftermarket' parts you can buy at places like O'Reilly's. It's about quality here." I approved the job & took the car home. A friend who looked under the car to see what I'd had done saw that it was not the same control arm as the other side & said I'd better check with the dealer. I took the car into a dealer & was told although the part fits it is not the correct part for this car. It should be replaced with the correct part without delay.
Upon calling Firestone back explaining the dealer's opinion to Tommy, another service tech, he took an attitude & said "...how would the service people at the dealership know that?" I asked for the manager & was told he was at lunch at 10 a.m. but would call me back as I requested. Receiving no return call from Mr. **, Service Manager, I called their corporate offices & filed a formal complaint & was told the area manager would call me within 24 hrs. No callback. The store service manager was finally reached by phone & he stated I misunderstood Johnny & that parts are "to OEM specs, not OEM." I had not misunderstood & told him that & he said if I pursued the issue "...it sounds to me like a she said, he said situation. I'll meet you half-way & give you $100 cash & we'll call it even."
I again called their corporate offices & was told since no one called me back it would be sent up to corporate for resolution. There was never a response from their offices at any level. I called Brian, I believe, the service manager again, & his rudeness clearly indicated he'd been contacted by his home office & he asked what I wanted. I told him again (4th time) I want the correct (cast aluminum) part on the car rather than the aftermarket stamped sheet metal part. He agreed but said "...this is all I'm doing. Nothing more unless you pay for it."
I made an appointment & took the car in & a cast aluminum control arm was installed. Driving home I have a loud clunking sound coming from the front end. In braking the car pulls to the right now. It did not before. I consider their "team tactics" as fraudulent & did file a complaint with the Bureau of Automobile Repair in California. Would NEVER return to Firestone for anything, nor even use their tires.

So they call me 7 hours later to come pick it up and the guy tells me $955.98. I gave him a coupon for free code check, he said "that is with the coupon." I said "that is not what I was told or agreed to." He said "well this is all the parts, the tax, the labor..." So I paid - I told him about being told a different price, so he took a company card and wrote his name on it for a free oil change. I am so upset - this is a big error $100.00 dollars - this is crazy.

On Monday, July 20, 2015, the engine on my 2009 Chevrolet Traverse suffered a catastrophic engine failure while on a family trip to Florida. The car was traveling at posted highway speeds on Florida's Turnpike, when suddenly, without any warning, the car shuddered for about 5-10 seconds; then, the check engine light flashed; and about 2 seconds later, we heard a loud BOOM and felt the explosion as well. I could see some small debris flying behind my car, as well as a cloud of gray smoke.
We used our momentum to move to the right and then to the right-hand emergency pull-off lane on the Turnpike, on a portion that did not have a shoulder. Once I determined that I could safely exit the vehicle, I assessed that the issue was not related to a tire rupture, but saw a small pond of clear motor oil about 1 - 2 cups, ultimately form next to the car. We also took a moment to express our blessed fortune that the incident did not end with a much greater cost.
I had the car towed to a Chevrolet dealership with which I had a previous relationship. Upon inspection, they discovered that the crankcase had been filled with approximately 12 quarts of motor oil which was far in excess of the 5.5 quarts that are recommended for the crankcase of my make, year, and model vehicle. They also observed a hole that was made when one of the engine components penetrated and exited the sidewall of the engine during the catastrophic failure.
My last oil change -- performed by the Firestone Complete Auto Service location at 512 Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro, NC -- occurred about 18 days prior to the issue. I had not accessed the hood or crankcase after the oil change, because I entrust that the professionals have properly done their job. I managed to drive 1,600 miles prior to the catastrophic failure -- almost entirely consisting of short-haul, around town hops -- prior to the lengthy, 800-mile sojourn from Greensboro, North Carolina to Southeast Florida. It is worth noting that the longer trip was split into chunks of no longer than 2.5 to 3 hours between stops -- though the last leg, driven in 98-degree temps, lasted about four hours prior to the engine failure.
As part of its analysis, the Chevrolet mechanics noted that with a car of my age, it is surprising -- but not unexpected -- that the catastrophic failure would take time to build the pressure situation, as it built, would take the path of least resistance to manifest itself. Upon inspection, the Chevrolet maintenance team noted several gasket leaks where oil had emerged as the pressure built -- notable, as no previous oil leaks have ever been observed from this car. Finally, with no other relief from the building pressure, the catastrophic eruption led to the ejection of a rod through the engine sidewall and an immediate and complete shutdown of the engine block.
On July 24, Firestone opened a claim -- Case No. ** -- and assigned a Chicago-based resource, ** -- to handle the case. He promptly went on vacation, so we worked our way up the food chain placed our inspection request in front of **, who apparently is **'s supervisor. After two weeks of inaction, Firestone's insurer finally sent a third-party inspector to observe the vehicle on Monday, August 3, and to examine the evidence (both physical and testimonial). The insurer ultimately decided to reject the claim -- not on the basis that they didn't believe that the oil was overfilled, but that there was NO WAY that the car could possibly have traveled 1,600 miles without experiencing the failure.
This was a car that we purchased new; that was meticulously maintained (records kept); and had been paid off last fall. You know, as well as I do, that once a car is paid off, it is your hope that the car starts paying YOU back. We expected to get at least two years more out of this vehicle and had no reason to feel otherwise. Within the last 120 days, we also spent thousands of dollars on new tires, new spark plugs and other replacements to keep the car running at its best. We feel like Firestone took something from us, through an apparently dumb mistake, but now does not want to take responsibility for a situation that they caused. And to date, they still have not called me once to apologize or even sent the promised "Denial of Claim." Steer clear, folks -- this place is now a daily reminder of one of my worst auto repair nightmares. We all think it won't happen to us. But sadly, it will.

I also let them know I had some trouble turning a few times. I went in one afternoon and they informed me they had to hear the noise to determine what it was. So I made an appointment at 10 am Saturday, Aug 29, 2015 and when I got there I told them I now think it was a belt not the power steering!!!
So after an hour of waiting I went to check on car and they said "not good, come look." They had it up on a rack and had some fluid dripping so much and so loud. I asked what it was and they informed me it was my rack and pinion it was leaking very badly and was very dangerous. I should fix it immediately and it was going to be $1540. What did I just say?!! Reset it for free, it takes 1 minute. I tighten my cap, drive the 50 or so miles, and then get it inspected. Potential customers, don't be an idiot! If you pull into a place to get your car inspected or if you just want that engine light turned off, and they want from $75 to $99, you are being scammed! Walk away!

On June 29th I had an appointment at 2pm to have my tires rotated. I went inside, gave VIN number to person at the desk and waited my turn. After the job was completed, I tried to locate the technician to give him a tip, but he could not be found by other employees for quite some time. I decided to wait, since I figured with a holiday weekend, anyone could use a few extra dollars. Unfortunately, after giving it to him, he had a very strange look! I then stopped at a local Target store and while still in the parking lot, I noticed my phone only had 7% battery life! I opened the center console to retrieve my charger case and I was very upset to find my $100 mophie iPhone case was missing!!! Our family has been doing business with Firestone for more years than I would like to admit. I have never encountered a problem like this before. I have a lifetime alignment contract with Firestone for my Subaru. Brought it in yesterday for a rotate, balance, and alignment, as well as an oil change. I marked the front tires just to make sure they did the rotation. They called me at work to tell me I need four new tires. I said no and to please proceed with the work requested. End of conversation. When I picked the car up at 5:00 pm, I checked the tires and noticed that they had NOT rotated the tires. When questioned, I was told they don't rotate when all the tires have the same wear. It doesn't say that on my work order comments. It says they rotated the tires. Also, I asked for the alignment report and it was not available. They redid the alignment and it was out of alignment. Now this is a car that supposedly was aligned a few hours earlier. Do not trust them. I wonder if they changed the oil.

You have just lost all my business at Deer Park, Center Street, Texas, because of your woman who works there and was working there this afternoon (and apparently in charge) at about 6:30 p.m., June 22, 2015. It's really a shame because over the years, I have had some of repairs done in this store, bought tires and front end alignments, and even recommended them to others, including family members.
** really shouldn't leave her in charge. She has no common sense and was mean and hateful to me. I asked her to perform a simple service and she informed me it was against policy. Well people, if YOU changed my oil, and I check it and it's not full, then in my opinion you are obligated to top it off! Not according to her. And she told me she didn't care what ** did, it wasn't happening. I have nothing against women working in an auto repair business, I usually admire it, but I don't admire snooty and hateful.
Oh and when I just turned around and walked back to my car, she appeared in the bay with blue hand towel in her hand. I don't know why because she knew I was leaving. If I hadn't have spoken with another retailer who changes oil and got THEIR policy, you wouldn't have received this email. My mistake thinking my $99 oil change warrants some kind of service. BTW if she had explained in a nice way that SHE couldn't authorize it, I might feel differently, but hateful doesn't cut it with me.

This is a tire place, right? I bought a new tire in the winter, to replace one lost to snowbank related puncture, and I wanted to match those I had. It took hours, but I got my new tire. Soon afterwards, my tire pressure light came on. My mechanic found no problem with tire pressure. So, when I had time, I went back to Firestone for rotation of tires, hoping they would also find the solution to the pressure indicator. Complementary rotation, but they talked me into a "Summer check-up" for $10. Sat and waited for more than two hours, despite having made an appointment. Of course they found things to recommend, but I have a mechanic so I said, "Not today".
I drove off. Immediately I heard a noise I had not heard before: a vibration noise and I felt a shimmy. My car had ran perfectly smoothly before. So what? Do they deliberately do a bad job, so as to make you come back and spend more money? Boo. No more Firestone for me.

I seriously misplaced my trust, time and $$ when I dropped off two brand new, just out of the box hours earlier, custom aluminum rims at this location recently, where I also purchased two new Firestone tires to be mounted on said rims. Everything seemed to have gone fine when a few hours later, I was called and told my wheels were ready for pick-up. BUT everything was not fine as it seemed, it was in fact - ALL wrong!
It would seem that placing the tire on the balancing machine properly and securing it down - prior to spinning it up - which I think it's the only way it can even be balanced... (but what do I know with some 15 yrs in auto restoration) was not something taught to some techs there... the result was my now +/- $600 brand new hub-centric custom wheel was bounced around like a pin ball down a rocky mountain on the balancing machine resulting in a destroyed center hole (both out of round and had rolled, deformed edges, missing finish, multiple nicks, scratches, gouges all over the new wheel). Worse to this event was that I was NOT told this had happened at all. In fact, I was told when I ask how it went that "everything went fine" and sent out the door as if I'm some chump who's never gonna notice! It would have been IMPOSSIBLE for the tech to have done this and not known about it!
It was only when I unloaded both wheels from the car when I got home that I saw the damage. So back to "fire-me, I must be-stoned" I go, not 5 minutes after getting home from there! Oh... but it gets better as while going over my payment invoice because now I scrutinizing all of it, I see multiple charges for things I did NOT want, did NOT need and were NOT even required that had been "slipped in"... such as new lifetime rubber valve stems (wheels were new and came with pre-installed with $40 ea. TPMS valves... no need to touch the valve stems!). I was charged for "tire disposal fees" yet rims were new/bare when I brought them in and I purchased two new tires there at Firestone... what used tires where they disposing of??? There were other "misc" charges all adding up to nearly $60 up-charge... OOPS I MEAN SCAM CHARGES.
I was further charged for "optional" road-hazard protection which I had not been asked to accept or decline... why yes, another small $50 charge I didn't need/want. Now back at Firestone, they at least admitted the damage (THEY KNEW IT HAD HAPPENED) and were quick to order me a new wheel - AT LEAST I GOT THIS MUCH... but don't assume they did whatever they could to expedite that process/rim shipment as a means of making my life just that much easier or bringing quick resolution to this matter... the rim took nearly a week to arrive by slow boat. All the while, my other new wheels/tires totaling close to $2000 worth sat in my garage and waited to be mounted on the car because of this situation. BS! My conversation with the shop manager was an ever greater delight when I was informed that "hey, I was lucky they were not going to charge me for the re-install of the purchased tire on the replacement rim, that they have coming for me"... say what?? You must be kidding me!
I got NO apology, NO "we'll make this right"... and certainly nothing informing me there was damage to begin with... nothing but made to feel that somehow this was MY fault and oh, all those added charges... well those were simple mistakes, we don't know how that happened and I "could be" credited back for those if I wanted! OMG! Finally my rim arrived and AGAIN - AGAIN - AGAIN, I drove back to Firestone as if I have nothing better to do with my day... to drop off the damaged wheel (I didn't trust them to keep it, it still had a brand new $200 tire & $40 TPMS on it) and get it swapped out with the new rim. A few more hours later, I think I am finally all done with this nightmare of an install but not before I get to stand in line and wait to get my credit back for most of the added/unwanted/unneeded charges - or so I think. Once again, sent out the door with not even a sorry or thank you, but glad to be going regardless!
In review of the new invoice which was to reflect my credits, it looks like I got scammed for about $6 that was not refunded properly... it just doesn't end and truly don't get it how a simple process of mounting a tire to a rim and proper (legal/ethical) invoicing is simply TOO MUCH TO EXPECT. But at this point, now there 5 times and a week of my time, gas, travel, patience & trust basically wasted, I ended up with the same thing I could have gotten from any number of other tire stores in just a few minutes and without all this BS! I guess I'll cut my losses, they can have the $6... I have HAD good luck and service with Firestone in the past - on many vehicles - up until now. I am not sure at this point if I will ever go back. It comes down to a matter of trust and customer service and no matter how you try to pay for that, it cannot be bought, it has to be earned!

I said "okay well you know how long?" "No it's whenever he gets done." He could not go out in the shop and ask the guy how long it would be but instead he just wanted to blow me off. Well guess what, the Jiffy Lube has got my business and the bad thing about the whole situation is that was my very first experience with Firestone. Store #3301 Duluth, GA. I am writing to express my frustration with a recent experience I had at your store. The second week of May 2015, I brought my 2007 Lexus LS460 for what I thought was minor routine maintenance. That being; tire rotation and balancing, a wheel alignment along with an oil change, replacement of cabin filter and air conditioning filter. In addition, I also thought a radiator flush might be in order as summer was approaching. When I brought my car into Firestone at approximately 10:00 am there was absolutely nothing wrong with my vehicle. Everything was working fine. My nightmare began when I came in to retrieve my vehicle at approximately 4:30 pm. I was directed to a bay where my car had been serviced. I was then told that the lip/connector to the radiator was damage and supposedly had yellow glue holding the hose and the radiator together.
I was also told by the technician that he secured the hose back to the radiator yet he was unsure whether or not it would hold. Therefore if the radiator fluid leaked it would require that I purchase a new radiator. At that point, I never saw yellow glue on or near the radiator and or hose. I trusted him and thought this could not be an issue as my car obviously had no issues prior to the flush therefore if the connector was broken prior, surely it would hold. Panic didn't set in until the following morning when I noticed there was leakage in the garage and immediately took my car to Firestone. I was told I would require a new radiator at a cost of $850.00. Since owning this vehicle for a total of 6 years only one Lexus Dealership has ever serviced my vehicle, therefore I was confident that they could get to the bottom of this.
Upon speaking with my Service Manager at the Lexus Dealership (who pulled my service records), I was told Lexus had never once flushed the coolant due to the fact that it was not a required service until 100,000 miles, my car had 94,000 miles. I immediately notified the manager at the Duluth Firestone of my findings and explained that when I brought my car in there weren't any issues, when I picked my car up there were issues. Lexus is saying based upon my vehicle records there weren't any major service issues with my car, no hoses or belts were ever changed, only regular maintenance, therefore they are pretty confident that the damage did not occur at Lexus. I also voiced my concerns about Firestone not informing me that the coolant service was not required until 100,000 miles.
I tried to resolve this issue in a mutually beneficial way yet Firestone refused to take ownership all I heard was the fact that he trusted his technician. Before I could formally file a written complaint more issues began to happen. For one my speed dial numbers were completely eased, and the option to add the numbers is no longer available. The air bag light is now on and the air conditioner cannot be turned on when the car is idle (90% of the time - sporadic). I thought I could wait to have Lexus review exactly what was happening on my next service date, yet the air conditioner proved to be a major inconvenience while traveling this Memorial Day weekend therefore I took my car into Firestone today (May 26, 2015) only to be met with skepticism by the Firestone Representative who finally agreed to have my vehicle looked at.
I was told by the Firestone Representative that there would be no way they could be responsible for what I was describing. He also wanted to know why it took me a couple weeks to bring it in as they service hundreds of vehicle and have never had any issues. I felt he acted very unprofessional as there were several customers in the waiting area. I explained that my job requires that I travel and I needed to wait for a time that was convenient for me. Upon further review by a Service Technician it was determined that the culprit appears to be a possible lever that may have been damaged when the air conditioner filter was replaced by Firestone. He explained the vehicle is computerized and the air conditioner will not engage unless it sense the air cavity is closed, which explains the behavior of the air conditioner.
In order to repair this issue the entire dashboard has to be removed. I'm frightened to take my car back to Firestone as the last minor service cost me over $1200.00 and walked away with major issues that have yet to be resolved. I'm not confident that your technicians can repair the damage that was caused to me and my vehicle. It is extremely disheartening that I could not receive the assistance and service I deserved.

On my way home I noticed there was exhaust fumes leaking into the passenger compartment of the car (it didn't do this before I took it there), so I dropped the car back off to them a few days later to get the problem resolved. Four days later I called them about my car and they told me it was ready to go. They did not call me, I had to call them. So I got into my car and started it up and there was still an exhaust leak and was told by the counter guy that the tech didn't disconnect that side. He disconnected the other side so there would be an extra charge to fix the leak (that wasn't there before they worked on my car).
Later that week my car started to run really rough so I jacked it up and noticed that a few spark plug wires was touching the exhaust manifold. I then took my car to the Firestone @ 1960 and Jones rd in Houston. I was then told the plug wires cap and rotor and water pump needed to be replaced. I then let that counter guy know that the plugs were just replaced at the other location and the wires must have been put back on wrong, and was told the wires are not under warranty because they were not originally installed by Firestone. So I let them do the work at a cost to me of $1,400.00. I have now driven the car about 100 miles and is back at Firestone with more spark plug wires burned from incorrect installation. My experience as outlined below shows how a national chain like Firestone can be such crooks. I am writing this to warn people not to go to this location. I have been a customer at Springfield, Firestone for close to 12 years. Recently I took my car to check why the radiator fan was going on even after I turned the ignition off. The person at the front desk told me it’s normal but since I had never noticed it before I asked him to check it anyways. After few hours I get a call saying that my car needs a few manufacturer recommended services. I said yes to them but they never mentioned anything about the main reason I brought the car to them and that was the fan so I asked them if they checked it and they said yes and that they found nothing wrong with it. So, I picked up my car and noticed the fan issue was still there.
Next day while driving I noticed that the temperature gauge was almost close to hot. So I called Firestone about it and they told that since they did the courtesy check the coolant must be good unless it leaked out in a day. I didn't want to drive the car so I got a mobile mechanic to come to my house and take a look. He didn’t find any leak after thoroughly checking the car. The only explanation he could come up with was that the Firestone had replaced the coolant hose in June 2014 and they had not put the clip at the right place and that the coolant had leaked over the last year and more than three fourths of it was gone. So when Firestone said that they had done the courtesy check they had actually not checked the coolant at all and they marked it as OK in the courtesy check document. Also, they brazenly lied to me about checking the fan issue when they had not done it.
While going through my Firestone documents to check when the hose was replaced the mobile technician noted that Firestone has been replacing my Iridium spark plug every 12-13,000 miles even though it should not be changed for 60-80,000 miles. Every time they told me it’s a manufacturer recommended service so I believed them and never checked whether it was actually needed. So I called them about it and they made an excuse that the technician must have recommended it without looking at the car history. Although they credited me the money for all three spark plug services, I thought this was an extremely unethical and fraudulent of them to do this.
Their greed, fraud, and faulty hose replacement could have cost serious damage to my car and could have left me stranded on the road. I have no faith that most of the services and courtesy checks they have been performing over the years were ever carried out. I have written to the corporate office and am still waiting for them to contact me to say they are sorry.

I've been going to Firestone for about 4 years now but will not return. The ONLY reason I went in the first place is that they're open on Saturday. I'm not sure if the guys working there are really mechanics. Last year after a freeze in New Orleans, my car started leaking fluid. Unbeknownst to me at the time, it was radiator fluid. About 2 days after the leak it begins to heat up. I take it into Firestone as that's the only place close to where I am. They insist on saying they don't know what the problem is. So I ask ok well what is the fluid leaking from my car - again they say they don't know. Mind you, it took the a week to find out that they didn't know what was wrong with it. I would think that an idiot could put 2 and 2 together and figure out its the radiator.
I understand not wanting to be responsible because driving a car that's overheating can cause serious engine trouble, but don't you think it would've been nice to tell me on day 2 rather than wait another 3 additional days while I'm paying for a rental to say "I don't know?" Even after this I decided to give them another shot since this location wasn't my usual location. But today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I bring my car in on Saturday for brakes. $404 I pay. I drive my car away and 5 minutes later, there's smoke pouring from the right side. I bring it back and the Lead Tech says it's the caliper. I say, "and you let me drive away like that, how do you know so quickly?" He says, "I didn't work on your car but it should have been test driven before it was given back to you, come back Monday and we'll give you a refund." They even pay for a cab for me to get home.
So on Sunday they try to fix the caliper but a bolt is stuck so they say Monday it'll be ready. On Monday I go to pick up my vehicle, the attendant looks as if he's going to charge me again and I say I'm supposed to be getting a refund. He says "for the brakes?" I say, "yes the guy out there, the lead tech, said I'm getting a refund because it took 3 days." Arriving home, I decide to read the write up which says "Customer upset because had to wait 3 days for brakes, even though it was a caliper issue that locked up while customer was driving. Not our fault. Replaced caliper for customer at no charge".
Needless to say, I was insulted. The manager promised me a refund and said his tech was to blame for not test driving the car. I was painted as an irate customer who only got her money back because she complained. Instead of the attendant checking with the lead tech for the details, he chose to cover his butt or his co-workers' butt and portray somebody who has spent over $3k with them as a trouble maker. THE ONLY THING FIRESTONE CAN HANDLE IS NEW TIRES AND FROM THE LOOK OF SOME OF THE OTHER CONSUMERS, IT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE THEY CAN HANDLE THAT.
