I feel it is necessary to write you about the problems I have faced with my truck and your company. On September 12, 2014 purchased 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 from Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep (11550 LBJ FREEWAY, DALLAS, TEXAS 75238) VIN # **. On the purchase date, radio and navigation do not work correctly. I was told by the salesman to take it by my local Dodge dealer (McMullan Motors) to have it checked as it is still under warranty.
The first time I take it in, after waiting for a couple of hours, I was informed the radio technician was not there and I would have to bring it back in. I work about 300 miles from my home so I informed them I would have to set up another time to drop it off. I could not leave it and do not own another vehicle. I was also not offered a courtesy vehicle or rental car. In the meantime, I noticed several other things not working correctly so I made a list to get everything checked upon my return.
On December 15, 2014 I bring my truck in to be serviced for the following problems: navigation/compass/radio not working, headlights fogging up, vibration felt while driving down the road. Of these 3 problems, only one was fixed even though I was assured by the service department my truck was fixed and I was good to go. On December 23, 2014 I was shopping and when I returned after a rain, my truck had approximately 3" of water inside the cab. I immediately called the McMullan Motors and they explained to me someone else had called with the same problem. I was told if I took it somewhere to have it fixed, other than a Dodge dealership, that would void the warranty. I then made another appointment to drop my truck off, leave it and pick up later.
On January 5, 2015 I took truck in for leaking back glass. I am called and good to go. On February 12, 2015 check engine light comes on. I make another appointment. On February 13, 2015 I take truck in for check engine light, fuel sensor vibration. I explain to the service dept. I am still feeling the vibration and was assured they did not feel anything and I should bring it back in for another look.
On May 4, 2015 take truck back in for vibration/rotate and balance tires. This time, they rotate and balance my tires. I pick truck back up and yet again I am told that I am good to go. I call them back later that day and tell them I still feel it. I was informed I should bring it back in for another look. During the month of July, my back glass leaks again after a rain. I take it to another dealership to have it repaired. I also explained the vibration to them. I cannot leave it that day and asked to bring it back the next week. This time I leave the truck for 5 days!!!
On July 22, 2015 take truck back in for leaking back glass, vibration felt while driving. I go back to pick truck up and I was told that my vehicle warranty was up and my extended Gold Plus warranty (I paid an extra $1500.00 dollars for this) had a 100.00 dollar deductible which I was responsible for. When I explained I had already paid for this once, I should not be responsible for paying for something that was already fixed once by Dodge, the service manager told me to call the dealership and ask them about it. I asked about the vibration and the manager informed me that Ram is notorious for putting bad tires on trucks. The tires are probably the cause of the vibration and I should contact Goodyear to discuss it with them since Dodge is not responsible for tires!!!
So, I call McMullan Motors about the back glass issue. I was told by the service department and I quote, "Sir we get ** parts all the time! Sometimes we get ** parts right out of the box!!!" How sad is it that your own employee tells me this!!! Mr. Hegbloom this is my complaint: I drive to Dallas to purchase my dream truck! I get these responses from your own employees!!! Good to go. Ram has gotten so bad, Dodge separated themselves from the Ram name. Don't know why it's vibrating - couldn't feel anything- bad tires, ** parts. Not once has anyone apologized and tried to actually fix my truck. It seems that passing the buck on has become quite the norm. I know this letter is lengthy and for that, I apologize.
There are many truck companies I can choose from. I can buy any truck I so desire, some for less money. I have been a loyal Dodge customer for many years and feel that I am owed some loyalty in return. I am truly disturbed by the inept actions of your employees. I saved up my money and had the choice of any truck on the market. I hope that you can restore my faith in your company.
As of today, here is a recap of problems I am still having with my truck: engine noise vibration around 40 mph or 1100 rpm, vibration in truck suspension while driving normal speed, transmission is slipping when accelerator is pressed, transmission shifts hard in and out of gears, tires are severely worn at less than 40,000 miles, overall performance of truck is poor, radio still does not work correctly, USB port does not work.

I just purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 6 weeks ago with 36,000 miles on it. Every time I stop I feel a jerk, kinda like something is slipping. If it does not do it when I stop it does it when I take off! The Dodge dealer was very unhelpful. Wanting to charge me even though I have a warranty! So I'm bringing it where I bought it from. It's a Nissan dealer but I figure it's best to go where I purchased it. I traded a Ford truck with 170,000 miles for this truck and never had a driveshaft issue. I'm wondering if I should fix this and get rid of it? Does anyone know if I can legally make them take it back? I've only put 3,000 miles on it, it would not have been that much but I called the Dodge dealer right after I noticed it and they said it was normal, it was the brake assist!!

Since we have bought our Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 we have had nothing but problems. #1 stalls when driving. #2 put 4 trannys in it and don't pull anything heavy with it. #3 paint falling off it. #4 it revs up when just idling. The rpms shoot to 4 and back down. We have had everything possible fix that it may have been and it still does the same thing. Just crazy. Some people now days can only afford one vehicle and when they do they expect it to be a good one. I will tell you one thing if I can afford to get another one it will definitely NOT be a Dodge. With all these problems and not just this one there are a lot of complaints about 05 Dodges. I can't believe that only the States are buying back these vehicles. But I will tell you one thing. I have kids in my vehicle and if it stalls and someone get hurt there will be a big law suit. This is not good for business. From one unhappy customer.

All the bolts on my clutch fan fell out of my less than year old truck while I was driving 110 on the Hwy. I just managed to pull my truck off the road safely because I did not have power steering after this happened. Then I was told that none of the 2800 in damage that this caused would be covered because I was 8000 km over my warranty. This should never happen in a lifetime of a truck let alone after a year.

Phantom antifreeze smell with no loss of coolant. 2000 miles into an oil change and checked the oil and it says "add". Bucking on the highway with no solution found. Leased truck to purchase and now I'm going to wind up losing my down payment because I can't drive a truck or put my kids in a truck that's this dangerously unreliable. Dealer looking at truck for the 4th time tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.

2014 RAM dually diesel brand new and I've had nothing but problem. Tires all wear out faster than they're supposed to, computers been flashed at least 12 times, transmission went into limp mode at 155000.1 exacexac because the computer went out of the transmission. The dealership wrecked my truck into the garage door and I am still fighting with them. I'm trying to get that paid for after they depreciated the value of my truck that they just wanted to put body filler in it and paint it. I had to pay my insurance company to fix it, and Laporte Chrysler in Indiana is refusing to give up their insurance information. Ongoing situation of nothing but problems and the runaround and lied to and cheated. Ongoing situation of nothing but problems and has been the biggest nightmare I have ever encountered dealing with the dealership and Chrysler in general.
So disappointed, has been the biggest nightmare I have ever encountered dealing with the dealership. I would love to find a lawyer that I could sue Chrysler for all the problem that I have. I had to pay my insurance company a 1200 dollar deductible and lost out on $14,000 and work because my commercial vehicle had to be repaired and I couldn't use it to work. I thought I was buying a new truck so I wouldn't be stranded on the side of the road but this truck has done nothing but left me on the side of the road.

Bought my RAM December 2013. First week had water on floors, leak. Bertarra ignored me, said it was winter. Started going to another dealership. They found third brake light leaking. At 30000 miles needed front brakes, still had over half of original pad left. Chrysler corp would not cover premature wear. Now 2000 miles later same problem. Very unhappy with truck. I go out of my way to tell even strangers about my experience. These are not the only issues either... Hemi is week, truck shifts constantly, when in four cylinder mode the truck shudders, won't hold a gear on hills, very poor quality interior... I could go on.

My 2012 Ram 1500 SLT is only used less than six months of every year and I have had two years yet the rear differential seal keeps going. It's been replaced twice and is leaking again in under six months since the last replacement. I requested they check that and the exhaust manifold last time it went in for repairs, and instead of doing so they suggested I buy a new truck, and when I refused their offer they continued to try to push me into it with numerous follow up calls. Needless to say they didn't even check why the seal keeps going just told me it was worn out and there's nothing that causes that, then told me the rattling noise was because I needed an oil change which had been done a month prior. Told them if that's what it was to do the oil change. After paying for another oil change and bringing my truck home I am still having the same issues, what do I do?

Bought a 2015 limited Dodge Ram. This truck has the air suspension. Had it for a couple months and it would not start. The fob would unlock the door and remotely start the truck but would not allow you to push the button to take over from remote start and drive. Finally got it started after approx. 1hr. The next morning took to dealer. Had it three days, replaced fobs. Worked for two weeks, happened again. Had to be towed. It has now been at the dealer for three weeks? They don't know what the problem is. Have replaced fobs again but no luck. Said it is a star case and engineers are working on it. Apparently that would make me feel so much better?
I called Chrysler service and got absolutely no help "AT ALL". What a joke. I have owned four dodges up till now, all bought new. Think this will be my last one. When I had the truck towed it took them four hours to get here. They gave me a rental to drive. It's a Ram, six cylinder that would not pull a trailer and does not even have a hitch. I spent over 50K on a truck and they give me a 20K replacement. What a joke!!! Has anyone else experienced this problem?

From the start I started having problems and the truck has left me on the side of the road more than once. It start with front drive shaft going out. Manual says to grease the u-joints but the shaft has no inserices to put grease in, this was $500.00 dollars to fix. Next the transmission went out. This was 2.300.00 dollars. Next the front headlights stop working, this was $150.00. Now the hydro-brake-booster has gone out, the bolts that hold brake fluid to the booster (which two) both broke in middle of the bolts. This separated booster letting fluid out losing all brakes. I am still waiting on the part because it was a special order, and the air-conditioner valves in desk is starting to give problems.

I have a 14 Ram 3500 driving out of town. My water pump came apart and put the fan into the radiator. Ok no big worries stuff happens. Called roadside assistance, they were very helpful. The problem was when I actually got to the dealership. Service advisor told me that they couldn't even look at it for three days. I asked about a rental, and they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket until they could look at it to determine if it was covered under warranty. I explained my situation on how I was stranded three hours from home. The service advisor was incredibly rude didn't even want to let someone spend 10 min to authorize a rental.
So now I am out a hotel room and fuel for my wife to make a 440 round trip to come pick me up and another 440 miles to go get it whenever they get around to it. I understand they have their scheduled vehicles but I think a little consideration should be given for situations like mine when people are stranded away from home.

Truck has been with the dealer the entire time, engineer has given go ahead to fix the issue and the truck is still not fixed. NO ONE from Chrysler/Dodge has returned my calls (four so far), dealer says they can only put the shop foreman on my truck but he needs to supervise others so can't commit a full eight hours a day to my truck. Will say they have given me a rental truck to use but I want this resolved.
I am particularly frustrated that no one has the decency at Chrysler to return my call. I do not want this truck back. Am going to chase them for a new 2015 Ram 1500. I was driving my 2013 Ram 2500 with under 10,000 miles and it shut down to what seemed like one cylinder running, with an awful knocking noise. Was towed to the dealer. Ended up having a broken valve spring, 2 bent pushrods, and 2 lifters had to be changed. Rather than change the engine, they said there was no internal engine damage and would fix it. With the noise it made I'm shocked there's no other internal damage. They fixed it and sent me on my way.
A month later I change the oil and it was full of metal flakes. I guess when they diagnose for internal damage they do not look at the oil. I can't understand that. I called about the issue and they said I should not be doing my own maintenance and there's no proof that there was any metal in the oil because I changed it. How else would I have found this out? They have no idea where the metal could have came from but there's enough to make golf ball sized ball. Told me I was covered by the engine warranty and they would do nothing further to the truck and still deny there's internal engine damage. So I will continue to drive it circulating metal. They didn't even want it back to flush it out.
A month later the check engine light is on so I have the code read with a reader at Auto Zone. There's something wrong with the oil pump. Instead of replacing the engine they are going to keep making me bring it back, an hour away, to keep repairing it until the warranty is over. This engine should have been replaced, not band-aided. My $46,000 truck has rebuilt engine, more internal damage that they will not acknowledge, and only has 11,000 miles on it. Chrysler does not stand by their products and has no interest in making it right. Just wanted to warn others about what happens with Chrysler products when there's an issue.

I drive a 2001 Dodge Ram, 2WD, 5.9L Magnum V8, 46RE 4-speed auto, my father was the first owner, and I can say for either of us, the experience has been nothing but great. I've put around 15,000 miles on it myself, and the total mileage is 122k miles just about now. The dealerships have been very trustworthy and capable when my dad owned it. I personally have done all repairs myself though since I started driving it. Reliability? Pretty good.
Back when I was around 10 years old and my dad drove it, it was a snowy cold day and my dad somehow got the dumb idea to drive it up the neighborhood hill to check on us while we were sledding. He got stuck, obviously, and had my mother give it some gas while trying to push it. My mother decided "give it gas" meant "just hammer the pedal to the floor", and she redlined it for a solid ten seconds while my dad was yelling to stop. The engine was bone cold when this happened and it snapped a valve spring. I'm sure most people on here would blame Dodge for that, but that's just plain stupidity that caused it. Thankfully the valve didn't fall into the cylinder and the repair was simple. At around 90k miles the torque converter failed, but didn't take the rest of the transmission with it so that was good.
I have a friend who works for Chrysler and he told me that they had a problem with some sneaky workers throwing bits of trash in the torque converters during assembly to sabotage them, and it took quite a long time for them to figure out who was doing it. I found this pretty interesting. When I started driving it (105k miles), I changed out the shocks which made it drive wonderfully, and the ball joints were worn out, one of them started getting noisy, so I replaced all four of them. Chrysler somehow thought it was a good idea to rivet them to the control arms, which made replacing them awful. I sat in my driveway with a drill and angle grinder removing 14 rivets, and it was quite a nightmare.
The heater core started leaking, which really can happen on anything, so I replaced it and also replaced the totally cracked and fallen apart dash pad (huge problem on these 2nd gens). I decided I wanted to install a shift kit in the transmission, so I did that and saw there was quite a bit of friction material in the pan. The front band was pretty worn out, and judging by the gunk I saw in the pan, it was about time for a full rebuild of the transmission. I started preparing to do that and one school morning I shifted it into reverse, and had to give it a TON of gas to get out of the driveway. When I got home that day I had no reverse so I knew it was time (did the rebuild at 120k miles).
During the rebuild, my findings were that the clutch packs looked pretty great for the mileage, and the loss of reverse was due to the rear servo cracking. I'd imagine this was caused by the increase of line pressure by the shift kit, but rear servo failures in 46REs aren't unheard of in totally stock circumstances, so who knows. The failure of the rear servo caused the servo pin to stick open, cinching the rear band down extremely tight and shredding the friction material. This also ruined the rear drum. The front band was indeed worn out, and if it had run any longer it would have destroyed the front drum in a few thousand miles.
I completed the rebuild for about $1000, however if I had used OEM spec parts it would have cost me around $400 to bulletproof it. The parts I used are for extreme horsepower and drag racing situations, and the transmission is good for around 800hp now. It shifts extremely quick now and this truck is a total blast to drive. If you're looking at a 1994-2001 Dodge Ram, what I can tell you is that the engines are incredibly reliable and have ton of low end power, the transmissions are very well designed and easy to work on while having some easily fixable weak points, the dash pads WILL crack if they haven't already, the frame is incredibly strong, and the truck is a good solid truck that will last you for many years and many miles if you take good care of it. 5 stars!

I bought my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 in 2010. Truck had close to 60,000 miles when I bought it. Now granted yes this was a used vehicle and you have to expect to run into problems. However what would come to happen over the next five years was completely ridiculous. After having the truck for 6 months my shift solenoid went out. No big deal covered under warranty. After the repair and 2 months later I had major rear end problems. Still no big deal, warranty covered it and my rear end was rebuilt. Almost all new guts for the rear end differential were replaced. 3 days after the repair I noticed that there was too much slack in the rear-end. When taking off you could hear the rear end engaging and very hard. When shifting gears it was haunting. I took it back to Dodge and they informed me then the warranty was no longer valid and that there was no way their mechanic made a mistake. I had to have a vehicle.
So a week after my visit to Dodge as I was driving down the road the gears in the rear end finally had enough. The rear-end locked up and the gears crumbled causing the drive shaft to fall completely out and onto the road. I had to pay for a new rear end rebuild at a different shop that was not affiliated with Dodge. Since then I have had other issues. I have replaced both front hubs. I have had to have the right side manifold fixed. And most recently I replaced a CV axle. While replacing the CV axle I found the shaft within the CV axle was snapped in half. I only use for wheel drive when needed and I keep the maintenance on my truck very well. I operate the 4-wheel drive regular to keep the parts moving and make sure it's working. I am now looking at a completely new front end differential.
I am very dissatisfied with Dodge's service. I am a military member due to move this week and now I have no vehicle and a wife and two daughters. I don't expect anything to be done about this truck and its issues being that it's almost 10 years old but take my advice - do not buy a Dodge. I am not the only one that has had problems. They are complete money pits especially once your warranty runs out and Dodge does not want to take responsibility for mistakes that were made at the factory and by supposed certified Dodge mechanics thereafter.

According to definitions by Bridgestone and Goodyear the tire wear condition is known as heal/toe wear or feathering. Have noticed that about half the trucks in my area are experiencing same problem. Have had 4 alignments, road force tire balance, and no improvement!
Alignment in factory specs have 12,100 miles now, expecting maybe 3,000 more likes before I have to replace tire. Have Ram case worker assigned. No known fix to problem. Alignment does not correct problem. Dodge has now referred me to National Center for Dispute Settlement. Arbitration board will hear my case and attempt to settle in 40 days or less. If I am not satisfied I will lemon law truck through lemon law act.
This is my 11th Chrysler vehicle, and the fifth truck. Very, very disappointed with suspension issue. Dodge used to be a good truck, but frankly Fiat is in way over their head having purchased this company. At this point they will give me a new truck through arbitration or lemon law act and make me happy or I will brink a class action suit against them. I know at least five other owners who are dealing with same problem and are more than willing to join action with me. My advice to Ram truck owners, don't let dealers blow you off, be insistent with customer care, and stick to your guns, the law is on your side!!!

I bought a 2013 RAM 4 door 4x4 diesel with 15 miles on it in August of 2013. After a while my passenger door wouldn't shut right. You would have to slam it which I'm totally against. But anyways when I hit 600 miles on my way out to the R.O.W. my check engine light came on and gave me a message saying something I can't remember exactly but see dealer. So I called the dealer in Enid, OK where I had just bought the TRUCK I have always wanted to purchase, the truck of my dreams. So I turned around and went to the Dodge house and I had to get my whole truck resynchronized. No big deal. They said it's a new truck, I said ok. This is my first new truck I guess this is normal. I was convinced so then I get back on the road head to work. It yaaa, it's fixed, got that out of the way back to new. Almost month goes by at 2,000 miles check engine, see dealer, I'm freaking out.
I call the dealer. I had to get the software updated again. They said "no big deal, this happens all the time. Won't hurt anything." I said "something's wrong with this. This can't be right." So they updated it again. So I hit the road 2,500 miles, it happens again. At this point I'm fed up. I talk to ** the sales guy that sold me the truck and I told him what's going on. He said "well let's go check it out." Checks it out and he comes back says "it just needed updated and you'll be good to go". I said ok but something's not right. The sales guy said "this is what happens when you buy a new truck, you have to work out the bugs." I said "No, no. The whole truck is not right." He said "oh it's all good and if you have any more problems just stop by and we will get it fixed for you." I just walked off mad with this truck they put me in. My job moved from Enid, OK to Elk City, OK about three hrs away so I go to Doug Gray of Elk City OK.
At 35,000 miles my fuel pump goes out. Wow, wow this is crazy. I have a 96 chevy that still has its original fuel pump. Wow so they fix that well about 34,000. My truck starts down shifting hard. I mean hard. There was a knock on the floor every time I would decell so I stop back by the Dodge house in Elk City OK and they had to relearn the my tranny and they charged me to relearn my tranny. I made a big deal about it but didn't wave it, stopped the hard shift I was surprised yaaaa they took care of it for me. Well a couple of weeks go by it starts the hard down shift again so I call Doug Gray of Elk City and go by there. They relearned my tranny without charge this time. Before I moved to Houston my factory warranty was almost up so I spent $1,500 to extended everything to 109,000 miles for my protection and to save me some money in the long run - nottt. That's a joke too.
I have to pay anyway at 50,000 miles. My truck was due for an oil change. I took it in there, got everything done and the service guys come out and says "did you know your front differential is leaking. It's not bad but leaking. You have to get that fixed right now." I said "is it under warranty? If it is, fix it. If it's not, I can't afford it." But I extended my warranty, front diff seal is part of the drive train. They said "yeah but you have to pay 400$, it's not under your warranty." I said why. So I had gotten it fixed shortly after that and it's doing fine. Now I'm at 85,000 miles and I get a message SAYING PREFORM SERVICE SEE DEALER. So I had the money so I get that done for 1,800$ and I ask them "what do y'all have to do to fix that **?"
One of the service advisors at Clear Lake Dodge told me that it consist of all my filters from fuel to air to oil and that there's a filter in the def and some other exhaust filter of some sort. I said ok well and let me purchase a oil service contract. He said ok I have this good deal, 3 car wash, 3 oil changes and 3 tire rotations for 180$ so I got it and I told him not to rotate my tires because they were wore down and I was buying new ones the next day!!! So what did ** do everything I told him not to. Like he had lack of attention when he was baby (HE DID NOT TELL ME I COULD ONLY USE THAT CONTRACT THERE or his sister store). Now I'm at 88,000 miles I now moved to Houston TX at 88,000 miles. Truck has been running fine until I pulled out of a parking lot and I notice my D.E.F gauge went from half a tank to nothing and it said refill D.E.F speed limited to 5 mph in 190 miles.
I was like ok so I pull over and refill my def, hop back in the truck and start to take off and look down and my gauge is not working. I'm like whaaat? Whaaat is going on? So I start to the house and I'm worried on the way home my gauge started working until I let off the gas and my gauge stopped working again. But it reset itself back to 190 miles till limited. At least it reset itself but gauge still not working. I was going to stop in the middle of Houston and break down so I keep going. I make it home, kill my truck and started my truck again. Gauge came on then went right back off and reset itself from 100 miles to limited to 5 mph back to 190 miles to limited.
I took my truck to the shop and they want to charge me cause their pump is defaulty. And this is where I sit right now, trying to get Chrysler to fix my truck. The only reason I bought a new truck is so that way I didn't have a breakdown and keep putting money into something. I think these new trucks are a joke - nice but a joke. It's like they have a button they push when they want you to spend money and invest in their product for more sales.

2014 Ram 1500. 1000 miles after purchase. Horrible gear hunting between 2/3 - 3/4. Trans bangs at highway speed when you hit gas to pass. Trans sometimes revs with no power. Clunk first time you hit gas after start every time. Vibration in drive shaft felt in gas pedal at 2000rpms every time. Dealer acknowledged the issue with trans the first 2 times. I called Chrysler several times and they finally opened a star case and I went to a different dealer. Chrysler contacted dealer before I got there. Dealer would not let me ride along with tech. Surprise surprise.. Dealer and Chrysler came back and said the truck performs as designed. What a coincidence!!! I even showed them video of the issues. Test drive other Rams of the same year and model. There were nine of these issues as it was when I first bought mine.
I guess Chrysler should advertise "our vehicles perform horribly after 1000 miles by design". Lemon law process started. Never ever trust this company to honor warranties. They have the longest warranty on trucks because they don't honor it.

On March 22, 2015 I did my paperwork to lease a Ram 1500. I had been driving it for the last week and ended up driving about 300 miles. I have had some issues with the truck from the radio, to the wheel sensors, to hub bearings, to paint work. I dealt with it for almost a year, and saw it was truck month again. I decided to go in and trade my vehicle and see what If I could get something different. The dealer asked me when I wrecked my truck. Told them "I never wrecked my truck." CarFax is showing that on 2/3/14 the vehicle was involved in a front and rear impact accident. Very minor damages reported. So then my investigating skills got the best of me. With the dealer's help, I have received the invoice, build date, transportation drop off date, PDI report etc. I found all this stuff about my truck at the beginning of March of 2015. Contacted CarFax and they confirmed that the vehicle was in an accident in Michigan on 2/3/14.
So looking at the dealer invoice, it was invoiced on 2/10/14. Accident occurred before the dealer invoice. No dealer trade was involved. Shipped directly to the dealer. The transportation company dropped off the truck on 3/10/14. Exactly one month after the dealer invoice, and there were NO damages to the truck. I have the transportation copy of drop off and signatures on the sheet. The dealership was also able to provide me with the build sheet and it to was in a KZOB status. This was interesting because it has limited definitions on the sheet, but one stuck out was damage.
The truck then was Pdi'd at the dealership on 3/12/14 with 12 miles on it. Then I started looking at the truck and drove it for a week and leased it on 3/22/14. Chrysler customer service told me it was just a scratch on the truck and that is why there is a CarFax incident. I said that there is a scratch on the truck and now it's reported to CarFax? What? If it was a scratch wouldn't it have been fixed and sent out? Why would they report it to CarFax? Who is covering what up? Today on 5/11/15, I am getting nowhere with Chrysler/Ram/Fiat. Everyone wants to pass the buck and point fingers to the dealership. Now I am waiting to see if the district manager for Chrysler Great Lakes region can do something. I have had a discussion with him, after learning about the CarFax report, and he said.... "it happens with transportation damage."
I can understand transportation damage occurring, but you would never think that when buying/leasing a brand new vehicle that it would have already been wrecked. The value of my truck isn't as much as one with a one owner, good serviced, good CarFax vehicle. But it is ok to deceive the dealer and the public/buyer.

I received a recall notice on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 for a seal that was defective. If it was repaired they said they would pay for the repair. I supplied them with all the receipts of the repairs. The total was almost $2,400. The representative calls me and tells me they are not going to pay the claim since the credit card used was not the name of the vehicle owner. It was my father-in-law's card since I did not have the money at the time to pay for the repair. So Dodge agreed it was defective but uses some lame loophole that since it wasn't on MY credit card, they would not pay. I suggested they just pay the cardholder then. Of course they denied that as well. So basically they admit they were liable for the repair but found a way out of paying for it.

I bought a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 in 2010 basically because it looked decent enough and price was less than a Ford or even Chevy. I did this even though many people told me not to due to their experience with problems with owning the truck. Also was told the MPG was far lower than other similar trucks in same weight class. Needless to say I ignored this advice and went ahead and bought it. Now 40,000 miles later and 4 1/2 years I am regretting my purchase. Keep in mind too I am not even pulling a trailer and using it for around town driving. First year I noticed I was getting overall 9 MPG overall which in this day and age is a disgrace. Also the sheet metal is very thin on truck bed. They I guess saved a lot of money here but you will get dent if you lean into in with your clothes. Again no other truck that I have owned does this.
Fast forward now to 2014 and the real horror of the lack of quality comes out. In the last two months my window switches and door lock controls on driver's door broke, the gauge that measures outdoor temperature stopped working and the Cup holder broke internally somehow (no outside damage whatsoever just a poorly made device). Well I brought it to Dodge and they see you coming and are trained to hit you hard when you come in the door. Those three little things cost well over 1000 to fix!! Dodge makes parts cheaply and then profits when you come in to fix them. These parts should never break and it's criminal IMO when they do break that Dodge hits you so hard to fix them.
Also a wire became broken or loose somehow around my license plate and the light won't work. Service tech gleefully calls and says it won't pass inspection without light and says it cost 300 to fix this since access is so hard. I complain. He listens surly just thinking about nothing but his commission or his pay. I took up snow plowing this year in 2015. I have plowed for 15 years with Ford trucks never a problem. That of course all changed here with two hrs into snow plowing with this truck. It became stuck in 4 low and never came out of it till endless attempts. Also I backed into a snowbank muffler clamps and all bent and broke. Again 15 years backing into snowbanks with Ford trucks this never happened. They are reinforced, placed correctly and strong. Not the case with my Dodge - cost I think 500 to fix.
This Dodge 2500 is the worst truck have ever owned, it's built like a car and they put their heavy duty badge on it for a reason - I have no idea. I will never buy a Dodge truck again nor will anyone in my family or more. I almost did forget when I went to shop for all this serviceman of course tells my transmission fluid and power steering fluid dirty and need to be changed all for another approx 700!! All marked up through the roof, high commissions for service manager? What do you think? I inform him that manual says change transmission fluid at 60k and only if pulling trailer. I am at 42k and no trailer lol. I pass on fluids and get rimmed pretty hard for all else.
Really shifty this hole Dodge company.... Oh the line when I pulled up for service was twenty deep.. All SUV, Trucks and cars waiting to be fixed and all looked relatively new too. Big moneymaker for Dodge and Jeep, they build inferior cars and trucks of low quality and profit as us dumb folks parade in to get them fixed. Never again for me!!

I purchased my 2014 Ram Express 1500 quad cab 2WD exactly 1 year ago today. I had bad experience with the HERITAGE DODGE DEALERSHIP, Parkville, MD - MILEONE AUTO GROUP. My truck had a recall due to a software update (compass supposed to be moved from my Uconnect 5 to the D.I.C. screen) - that was 2 radios & 2 attempts to fix the problem, still no compass at all in truck. While truck was in shop, the express lane manager said they would do a tire rotation. Well I marked all tires, all they did was switch the 2 front tires to either side. But as the MANUAL STATES: IN ORDER TO DO A CORRECT TIRE ROTATION IS BACK TO FRONT, FRONT TO BACK - NOT RIGHT TIRE TO LEFT & VICE VERSA.
The payload capacity of this 2WD 1500 is claimed to be 1900 lbs.+ in the bed of the truck. Now here is the kicker, I load my 2013 Yamaha Grizzly 700 in the bed & my bed squats down 5" (5 inches) - my Yamaha Grizzly only weighs 686 lbs. with fluids. Currently this $35k truck with only 12k miles & 1-year old KBB is $21k trade-in value. The design of the coil spring, rear springs is great when empty; handles nice & smooth. Add 200 lbs. & go over a speed bump carefully & you will feel the sag/plush/too soft springs bounce you 2-3 times. Add the 686 lbs. & gently go over same speed bump - bump stops, actually hit the axle.
Now I have to go & purchase HD coil springs or purchase AIRLIFT ULTIMATE 5000 AIR BAGS SO I CAN NOT ONLY HAUL my 1 quad, but also my 10 x 6.5 open trailer with my wife's sportsman 500 HO Polaris too. For a truck (not really a truck, when you cant haul anything over 200 lbs.) it's pretty quick. With the 5.7 Hemi, MPG is 20-23 MPG hwy.

Executive Summary: The American Automotive Industry as we once knew it and in some circumstances its new European/Asian owners has and continues to set higher and higher standards for not only our convenience, but always with safety in mind. And having had and witnessed some really bad automobile accidents, I for one am grateful for their due diligence.
This document speaks to the topic of safety. The DEF System warning that shuts trucks down after some pre-defined distance is dangerous to all who own or operate one. Many of us spend countless hours in our trucks and often at remote locations. This piece of programming needs to be recalled and adjusted such that it does not shut down the truck, but simply warns the operator of the need for service as quickly as is reasonable.
The Solution: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations such that they are benign but not ignored. The Benefits: Safety of all customers and consumers driving our highways. The call to action: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations. I purchased my second (new) Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn 3500 Dually 4X4 in July of 2013 from Allen Samuels Dodge on the South Loop in Houston, Texas in July 2013. Up until the circumstances I'm about to describe, I can honestly say I've been happy with the product and its performance. And, since I spend a significant amount of time in my truck with or hauling animals, reliability and safety is constantly on my mind. Getting stranded at any time is not an option although flat tires are often unavoidable on the trailers.
December 2, 2014. I am a senior consultant for a small firm where we support an engineering software application that requires occasional out of state travel. This past December the firm received a call from a client that had an emergency and needed someone on site within 48 hours to assist them for a month or more. I packed, kenneled my dog and headed for Wilmington, NC from my home in Bellville, TX within 12 hours. I chose to drive due to weather conditions at the time, not wanting to get caught in any airport delays. Again, time was of the essence and with just under 48,000 mile on the truck had no reason to believe there would be any systems issues. The oil had been changed the day prior, tire pressure was good, DEF tank was full and I had just fueled up.
December 3, 2014. I was sitting in traffic on I-10 just 20 miles outside of Baton Rouge, LA when the DEF System warning of the need for service within 200 miles needed to occur or the system would kick in a governor that would prevent the vehicle from going more that 5mph. I immediately contacted the Dodge dealership in Baton Rouge (Salsbury's Dodge, 9550 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA (225) 926-8800). They were terrific, I had them replace the fuel filters and according to their accounting, they flashed the module and I was on my way in an hour and a half. It's now after 5pm. I needed to make Mobile, AL or beyond that night.
December 4, 2014- February 24, 2015. I returned home on January 15, 2015, have had a couple of oil changes, radiator flush and new antifreeze added at a RAM dealership in Wilmington, NC, more DEF added to the tank and were now at 54000 plus miles. The late afternoon of February 24, 2015 I was heading home from Houston, TX and the DEF System warning came back on. Once again I have 200 miles to get service. Since the Tommy Vaughan Dodge Dealership is the closest to my home at this point and I had a good friend who had just purchased his RAM from them a couple of months ago, I headed in on the morning of February 25th. 100 miles before the DEF System programming will shut me down. I made the call to Tommy Vaughan and scheduled service for in the morning at 8am.
February 25, 2015, 8am through February 27, 2015 4:30pm. The initial item noted was the need to replace the air filter. This did not resolve the DEF System error message as was suggested. The folks at Tommy Vaughan Dodge worked tirelessly for the next three days troubleshooting the issue and appeasing me. None of the module errors alerted them to the real issue. It took numerous calls to Chrysler by them and me to get technical support to their personnel with little or no success.
I contacted my service manager at Allen Samuels to determine if she had experienced anything similar. She suggested it was the DEF System Pump. Additional diagnostics proved this to be true. Still no success with DEF System pressure through the injector. Turned out this needed to be replaced as well due to the failure of the pump. ONLY after much frustration (mine), the issue is resolved and I'm back on the road. Three days later. Loss of work is 30 man-hours at a consulting rate and more frustration than you can imagine.
A consumer at the mercy of failed manufacturer procedures. Total cost of repairs was just under $1300.00 (warranty on the DEF System parts had exhausted at 50,000 miles. I had just above 54000). RAM was not willing to help me out with the cost of parts and labor. The pump and injector should have been RECALLED in that nationally, there are 70 of these pumps on back order for RAM. What do the folks do that can't get parts? Lose use of their vehicle or is the DEF System temporarily by-passed, I wonder? So, why the long letter and what do I really want?
I want the DEF System module that is programmed to shut the trucks down at 200 miles to be re-programmed such that you get the warning that the system needs service, but does not put me and countless other drivers like me across America in a potentially life threatening situation as a result of Clean Air Act mandates.
I have hauled horses across the United States, served as the equine ambulance driver for horses that were on their way to colic surgery (two hours from a venue in Montana) and drive 75 miles one way to work each morning with animals and people at home relying on my safe return for their well-being. My 2013 RAM cost me $65,000.00 (it was my second in a two year period, I purchased my first $55,000.00 RAM in 2011).
That all major automobile manufacturers put every single diesel truck owner in America in harms way is unacceptable. How many wrecks are caused because a driver was suddenly shut down to 5mph, or could not get to dealer within 200 miles to address DEF System issues? Why are 70 DEF System pumps on back order? How many are on back order for the other truck manufacturers?
In my own case, the Columbus, TX service department had to go to Brenham, TX to get the replacement pump and to La Grange, TX to get the injector. And where I am grateful to their heroic efforts, what if I had been stranded in a far more remote location? With a 40 trailer and 8 horses in tow heading to an international event 3000 miles from my home? What is Dodge going to do for me then? Or FORD, GM, Chevrolet? What if the DEF System had been in place during Hurricanes Katrina or Rita or Ike? Would we have been shutdown on a crowded Freeway attempting to escape harm's way? What about the next hurricane season? Emergency vehicles? What if you're in the ambulance that's headed to a hospital some 200 miles away and the DEF System warning occurs. Do you mean to tell me the ambulance will need to be out of service until a service department can find parts?
I ask, do you have three days to wait for a situation that was completely avoidable? I'm not a bureaucrat; I'm just a working person. Like all my friends that own diesel trucks that are in the same situation I'm in. Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down.
I'm all about cleaning up the environment meant even if it's with a colorless, odorless product that can kill people and animals if accidentally ingested, and although I've not tried it, I understand it's pretty good at cleaning stains on concrete. But don't leave people stranded because of pre-determined mechanical obsolescence (in excess of 50,000 miles or is it base upon vehicle operational hours?).
Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down. Thank you for your time and consideration. This document will be sent to all the major US and European automotive manufacturers and made public via DEF forums and all forms of electronic communications effective immediately including Consumer Report. Once this recall is in place to include the reprogramming of the DEF Module, I will follow-up with a thank you letter to all.

I have owned 3 2001 Dodge Ram quad cabs. I purchased the 3 red one due to an accident in the 2nd one which totalled my truck. It saved my life. However, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the dashes cracking and Dodge's refusal to do a recall. I guess they won't because they would be recalling everyone still operable which would be extremely costly. The dash on the totalled one was completely caved in when I purchased it in 2006. I had to buy a dash mat. The 3rd truck which I still own was just starting to crack in 2010 at the time of purchase. I believe the mat has helped it last longer. It continues to crack.
I think they could offer owners a monetary settlement which might satisfy their gross manufacturing negligence and the owners having to deal with it on a daily basis. I have other issues with my current truck but believe they are from normal use and factors not necessarily related to Dodge's negligence. Overall it is a well built safe vehicle.

We purchased what was supposed to be a new 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn Cummins motor crew cab dually. Well in all reality it was not. Had problems with the truck from day 3. Has a terrible lag, vibration, no power, will not hardly pull out of the driveway with a trailer on it. Dealer said, "That's not right. Bring it over." We took it over. They all do that we were told. Then why on the phone was I told there is something wrong. Come to find out the truck had apparently been bought and brought back. It had been worked on several times and was in service in Jan. when we purchased.
In Aug. Dodge got involved and things have gone down since brake controller is out, cruise control is out, traction control is out, rear window leaks has a short in it somewhere, tires are wore completely out at 12,000 miles. ABS system works sometimes, exhaust brake works sometimes, uses oil about 1 quart per 1000 miles, fender flares falling off, running board falling apart, seat memory sometimes works, coolant light comes on, motor sounds like it's going to blow, has a miss. Radio is going out map, light going out, not the bulb either, the map light itself. There are many more things going on. Dodge agreed to put us in another one but has to be of equal or less value so buyer beware. Do not buy a Dodge. We have talked to a lot of people that just give up and trade them off.

We have a Diesel 5500 Dodge Ram with that horrible DEF system. During this recent snow storm the computer system told us we had 195 miles to service the DEF system before the truck would CUT OFF. This is the 2nd time in 40,000 miles we have had this happen. We are a snow plowing company,195 miles during a snow storm does not give us a lot of time. We brought the truck into Ross Dodge (Boone, NC) and we were told there was no one to help in service, we took it back the next day and the service people told us they would not look at the truck until the ice and salt had been removed from the bottom of the truck. They did offer to keep it in their bay overnight to melt the debris away.
Crazy thing is the truck was needed to (let's all say it together) plow snow. Why couldn't they take it over to their handy car wash and wash it off, or put on their big boy underpants and deal with the dirt? They do not keep the DEF part in stock. So now back to the dealership for a 3rd, or maybe it's the 4th, time to replace a part that we have no control over. Why is this part not stocked? It is used on so many Dodge Diesels both commercial and individual. Shame on Dodge for letting one state control their multibillion dollar company. Grow a set and stand up to California!

Bad service until I reported them to BBB and Chrysler Service - they finally asked me to drop my truck for an inspection on my driveshaft. I bought a pick up truck on Nov 1st, 2014 and two weeks later I found out that I have engine light on, extremely Rusty powertrain driveshaft and front bumper came off by itself. Regarding my front bumper, one of the service guy who always sitting on the front to greet customers and taking their information, attempted to claim that I ran into something. I asked him to take a look himself. Obviously he couldn't find anything such as dent or scratches because like I told him, the bumper just came off by itself. One of the bumper, whatever you called that, the thing that hold the nuts ripped off and I don't even know how it happened. Bad manufacturing process I believe. He called the service manager who take a look himself for 10 secs and asked somebody to drive to the back to get it fix, no question being asked at all. That was alright with me including the engine light which was updated. The driveshaft is the whole new level.
I found out later a lot of people from Fort Benning having problems with them, and have bigger mechanical problems (as in vehicle are not operational or having safety hazards). The rusty driveshaft was partially my fault, because I should have check the bottom part of the truck before I purchased it. However, right now they still don't want to resolve my driveshaft issue since Chrysler wouldn't do it either and my case file was closed. I was told that I have to pay on my own to get it cleaned out or doing whatever service I have to on my driveshaft. It cost me $60,000~ to buy this, and this is not ethical at all for their service. I am not going to talk about other features that the salesman promised me on the truck because I know most of them are just lies since I corrected the salesman for several times regarding the features of the trucks. However, certain things I was not sure so I bought into it at that time. Payload is only 1800~ lbs but I was told I have 3000~ lbs. Towing is only 17,000~ lbs but I was told 22,000~ lbs. I don't care much about the towing since if I do buy a trailer or 5th wheel, it wouldn't go beyond that towing capacity.
However, the payload is what I need the most right now and this Laramie truck is not able to carry any truck camper for all seasons. 1800~ lbs is horrible for modern pick up truck. I am getting an attorney to fix my driveshaft and that is something I can do. I have to wait until around 2016 to get another new truck and this time I am not sure I will get Chrysler brand anymore. I will definitely lost around $10,000 to $15000 or more. That doesn't include $5000 extra cost on my truck compare to other dealer at that time and a special rebate of $500 that the dealer didn't give me (military rebate and additional $500 rebate to my referral). I will find a way to contact somebody in JAG or whoever to raise hell so that this dealer will be blacklisted from Fort Benning personnel. I should have rate the salesman bad rating on the survey. He (Paul) asked me to put all good rating on him.
I attempted to resolve the problem with the dealer where I bought the truck from and Chrysler Service but nothing was resolved regarding my rusty driveshaft. I was told that I have to pay money to get it cleaned up. I bought it on Nov 1st, 2014 and two weeks later I just found out that the driveshaft is extremely rusty. However, nobody wants to take any responsibility. Do you really think most buyer would want to buy a rusty driveshaft if they found it on the spot? I will find an attorney after this Christmas holiday (or later on today, Dec 26th, 2014). This is simply not ethical. First thing I will do is, I will find several buyers from my unit in Fort Benning to make complaints to our JAG so that the dealer, Carl Gregory Dodge, RAM, Jeep from Victory Drive, Columbus, GA to be blacklisted so nobody from Fort Benning, GA will ever set foot on their store.
Next, I will have to deal how to get my own truck fixed. Other buyers, I have gathered have other bigger mechanical issues with this dealer. Since, we couldn't resolve this in a proper honest business relationship this is the only solution to fix the whole fiasco. I asked for paperworks regarding my last service with your company and Lawrence told me it was your company policy that the case files are not allowed to be release. They are considered legal documents but your company couldn't even released it.
As of Jan 10, 2015, My Bumper is falling off again and I can see the gap is getting bigger but not as bad like last time. Also, Chrysler, nor the dealership considering replacing my rusty driveshaft. I am sick of hearing from the fanboys talking about nothing wrong with it. Really? You seriously would walk into a shop to buy anything that is rusty just because you are the loyal brand follower? My payload is still horrible and I couldn't buy the truck camper like I originally plan. This truck is not built to carry any heavy payload for the equivalent class 3/4 tons. 1st time buyer of RAM truck.

I am very meticulous with cleaning my truck (2009 Dodge Ram Diesel) because I like it, spent a lot of money on it, and want it to last. Every time I wash it, which is usually once a week, I thoroughly sponge wash the interior of all wheel wells. Now I started noticing bubbles in the paint over the rear wheel wells. While at the dealership for a tie rod recall I had the service manager at Hoffman Chrysler/Dodge, Hagerstown, MD looked at the rust development. He agreed that as clean as the truck is kept that it should not be rusting. He gave me an (800) number for Chrysler and said I could even offer his name for verification.
I called and they made me feel foolish for even calling. Actually told me he shouldn't have given me the number and that it wasn't something they were responsible for. In my opinion Chrysler knows they have a manufacturing problem for 1000's of their trucks to be rusting out in the same areas in such a short time. I love the truck but could never purchase another Dodge. None of my Fords or Chevy's ever rusted out in 5 years. By the way, I was notified of the tie rod recall and it took 10 months for Chrysler to get the parts to the dealership for replacement. They were sending them one at a time and there were lots of owners on the list for the recall just at my dealer alone. You pay a lot of money for these Diesel trucks and once you drive away they act like it's not a problem for them to rust away in 5 years. :-(

Also to fix the warning lights that keep coming on (Service 4-wheel drive, ABS light and brake light).. Ok so got all this done at Arrigo Dodge in West Palm Beach.. They had the truck for 12 days... Got it back and transfer case making a binding noise, lights are still on, and front end now pulls to the right... Take it back to them and they have it another week.. Pick it up and the lights come on again.. Ok so now I tell the service guy "I need to drive to Colorado 1800 miles. Is the truck safe?" He said "Yes don't worry about the warning lights. Just have it looked at when you get there. If they stay on..."
Well I'm not a mechanic so I drive it there not realizing that the ABS brakes don't work when those lights are on.. And I'm pulling a 24-ft trailer... So I get to Florida take it to the Dodge dealer to get it checked out. The dealer checked out the truck... Come to find out the alignment was done wrong which wore the 2 front tires to the core and they put the wrong chain in the transfer case and used the wrong sealant in the transfer case.. The Dodge dealer in FL was contacted by the Dodge dealer in Colorado and this was brought to their attention. And the spec sheets and repair diagnostic was given to the dealer who incorrectly did the work the first time (Arrigo Dodge WPB).
The Colorado Dodge dealer said that the dealer who fixed the truck originally should pay for the repairs.. I contacted them several times even speaking to the owner of the Dodge dealer, getting nowhere.. Now I'm out 1500 dollars and that is not right.. Let alone I put my family in danger since the Colorado Dodge dealer said there could have been a bad accident due to the repairs.. I think that the original dealer should be liable for the repair's cost... That's why we take our truck to the dealership to get worked on by certified mechanic.. To be safe and right... Again I'm not a mechanic... Thank God nobody got serious hurt on the road... That would be a law suit waiting to happen...

Hard to keep a wrecker on the road when it keeps flashing the shut down and will not restart in 200 miles message. Finally my husband found the problem. Def fluid crystallizes when air hits it, and each time you add def fluid a small amt of air hits the fluid, so guess what happens. Right. Some of those crystals get in the system, stop up the injector. If you don't believe, check the funnel you use to add def fluid. Crystals you will find. Still has SES light for the system, but at least it's not shutting down now. Just a bit disappointed in the product dodge advertised as the truck built especially for the wrecker industry. I recently purchased a new 4x4 Ram pickup (2 months 11,000 miles). This is my 12th 4x4 and while a "Ford man - (8)" I have had a Toyota, Nissan, and 2 GMC. I am often off road hunting and fishing and "getting" where I am going. I am 45 and do not recreationally "hot dog" in the mud, but I typically drive them until they are DONE (this is my 4th new) the rest have been purchased with 100,000 - 150,000 miles and driven well into the 200's. Don't get me wrong, I am rough on them.
My new Dodge lost transmission fluid. After pouring through the manual and under the hood, I found no dipstick to check the fluid nor any place to put it (5 miles from the nearest paved road). Called my dealer, and he said not to worry, call Roadside - everything is under warranty. $189 later it was towed to the dealer only to find a pinhole crack in an exposed PLASTIC transmission oil pan. Plastic? Exposed? On the underbelly of a 4x4? Really. To not just bash, I must say the customer service and "Buying Experience" at JT's Dodgeland of Columbia was exceptional and being my first Dodge, I love it - but exposed plastic underneath a 4x4 is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I have taken trucks where they should never go, run over trees, been yanked off of stumps, and so on. This Dodge had obviously had a stick of some sort kick up and hit the oil pan, which being PLASTIC allowed a hole to be punctured. It has yet to see any REAL tight spots.
So I have paid 189 not covered and the bill to replace the plastic little pan and recalibrate the computer is $960. Had I poked a hole in something metal, I would chalk it up to cost of doing business. If Dodge wants to compete in the market for folks that really need 4x4, then get rid of, or use a skid plate to protect these fragile parts. We don't get much snow in SC, but we got plenty of mud, sticks, stumps, etc... After looking, a rock off the Interstate at 70mph could puncture (the 5.7 Hemi 8 speed is by far the smoothest, most fuel efficient truck I have ever had and is an absolute rocket) - the tiptronic (sp) transmission is BAD as well.

Asked about it and I was told normal wear. I don't understand how this is normal and it should be replaced through warranty, hope they all aren't holding moisture. I was thinking of trading next year for another new ram but with the concern of the service I received no way will I ever buy another one. Just wondering if this is a problem with all the rams.

In May my engine light came on. Now in November after 12k miles and 25 actual documented trips to service we still have same issue with Def system problems. Dealership, dodge and Cummings are all involved. It's going in again next week to install a device to monitor the truck from another location as well as a new pump and another sensor that has been replace multiple time. This is my everyday driver and being without a truck like this is not useful. In the 25 times I have been given a car once (had to be jumped 1/2 mile away to get back home) and a 1/2 ton old Chevy truck 3 times. Chrysler has given me a case manager and somehow my case was closed last week, I call inquiring why and they couldn't tell me but started a new one. Anyone else suspicious? 5 times so far the computer has threatened to shut down in 200 miles and instructs getting to dealership. So next week is 26 times in the shop since May with my everyday 5500 work truck with a dump landscape box, tool boxes, snow plow and computer stand installed in truck. I wish I could take away everyone else's computer until this truck is fixed.

So I buy my truck in April 2013, Dodge Hemi 5.7L Bighorn. Before I bought this truck I was told it was an amazing truck and the best riding truck out of all the Hemi class trucks. So the day comes to pick it up. I take my truck home and while driving it around no longer than 30 mins the engine light comes on. So my first time experience was destroyed. I took it to the dealership in Strathroy Ontario where I purchased it. They told me it was the gas cap fault. I said “How can it be that? I didn't fill it up, you guys did.” So they cleared the fault and on I went. This fault went on for 2 months before finally they figured it out and replaced the duel cats that were faulty.
So for the first two months living at the dealership. Getting rented vehicles etc., etc. I hated this truck period! You buy a 50000 dollar truck and it's crap from the get go! What a crappy feeling. Not to mention I called Dodge and talked to the dealership 3 days after I bought it and wanted a different truck! Dodge told me I cannot back out of my loan. They told me I could not get another truck and if I even could that would be the dealerships decision. I thought in Ontario you can back out of a contract within 15 days of signing it? Guess I was wrong. So I talked to the dealership, my salesman and the garage. They just really shrugged me off saying “We will see what we can do for you” and never got back to me and really did nothing.
I was told they were going to talk to the owner and try to help me out cause of what I was going through, nothing ever happen. Not even a sorry! I was told they would give me a free 50 inch tv for everything I went through and cause I was so nice and understanding with them. Nothing ever happen. Now not even 10 days after I bought the truck I took it in and took the salesman out for a ride in my truck telling him my truck is the worst ride in a vehicle I've ever had. Feeling every bump after bump and when you go over bumps or raises like going over bridges; it grabs the truck and shoots it sideways. My wife refuses to drive my 50,000 dollar truck. It makes her sick from all the bumps and horrible ride. This truck twice now has almost carried my wife and kids off the road resulting in an accident. Even myself, I drove over a common bridge in our area on Pike Side Rd outside Strathroy doing 90 kms and it shot me 2 feet sideways resulting in missing the bridge wall by a foot. I have never been more scared in my life driving a vehicle.
I also took my vehicle in at the same time complaining about the tires. I'm buying a 50000 dollar truck and they put on the cheapest tires. I have 40000 kms on my truck now and they are done already. They have been done at 20000 kms ago! I took it in on my first and second service asking if they were Ok and they said yes, nothing wrong with them. They are at the wear bars pretty much. Thx for being honest Dodge. When I bought the truck the sales guy told me to go to another tire place to trade them in and get a discount on better tires. This is the sales guy for Dodge telling me the tires are crap after I realize it days after I buy it.
So I called the tire place. They turn me down cause they have 80 tires sitting in the back that they can't move cause of doing these deals for Dodge. So out of luck. Thx Dodge for selling me a 50000 dollar truck and sending me straight to the tire place for four new tires 30000 kms later for 1500 dollars in good tires cause you rip your customers off informing us you're selling us a 5 star rating road worthy truck; wouldn't that include the tires? Hogwash...
So here I am less than a year and a half later paying for a truck owing 70000 dollars and I have a truck that was a piece of crap from the first day, having cat issues, balled tires in 30000 kms, a truck that rides like a Russian tank - well sorry Russia your tanks ride better! Hanging radio issues, suspension issues etc., etc. My wife won't ride in it cause it makes her sick. And while I look back supporting Dodge 3 times buying a Neon RT in 2002, a Dodge 2010 Caravan, and now a 2013 Dodge Hemi, I am honestly thinking of taking my services to another company.
We own a dairy farm and have supported Dodge for years. I think we are going to buy elsewhere from now on. Now I'm not saying all this just because I had just one bad go. I'm so upset because after all of this not once did I get an apology, not once did they offer me anything out of compassion for what I've gone through, not once did the owner or Dodge or anybody call me or anything! I will continue to hate this truck every day and not once has anyone given a crap at all!
I'm so upset you would think they would have given me free oil changes or God something to show support or compassion. Nope all the promises; hot air from what I call it, all the grief I went through and the shop employees know what I went through - they saw it. I didn't even get a sorry from the owner of Dodge! So my best friend buys the same truck but a Sport 2014 - same tires, suspension blah, blah, blah. You take my buddy out for a ride same road in his truck then mine! I'm so upset, so upset his truck rides like a gem like what mine should ride like. I'm so upset. I took him in mine and he was pissed. He now sees the difference and how horrible mine is. And when we went out we almost got into an accident cause when passing a car we hit a bump and it threw us into the side of road, the gravel part and we almost wiped out at 90 kms an hour.
It's nice to know I got ripped off and my buddy has the truck I always wanted. So we go to the dealership, my friend confirming the difference, etc., etc. from my truck to his and I have an appointment Friday to look at suspension. "Guaranteed Mr. **, everything looks Ok. If you continue to have these issues, just let us know and we will tell you the same thing over and over again and do nothing.” I'm so upset. I'll never buy another Dodge ever again and if I can stop one person from doing the same, I'll be happy. It kills me to feel this way cause I loved Dodge for years. All I got to say, if something ever happens to my family be flying off the road, they better hope I die in the process! It sucks to want to be so happy, but all you get is 7 years of grief! Why doesn't anyone care anymore? What have people and companies come to these days? It's so sad.

My brother and I purchased a brand new 2014 Ram 3500 4x4 cc with 6.4 hemi from Tri- Cities Jeep/Dodge/Ram in Kingsport, TN. The night we purchase it 12 miles from the dealership, the loose gas cap light comes on then the 'check engine' light. I continue on home because we weren't done till 10 pm dealership closed. The next morning I go back, take it to service, explain what happened and they apologize, agree to usher right in to be checked. Three hours later they come get me and tell the gas cap was loose, I didn't tighten it correctly. It and check engine code reset, all is good. BTW I did not fill it up the dealership did. Later that same day, have driven my truck 43 miles since purchase, the lights come on again. The next day I return to the dealership and explain my displeasure and disgust. They tell me they need the truck for 4-6 hours to smoke test emissions system for leak which now appeared with loose cap light but they can't provide loaner car which is part of Car-Doc warranty I got with the truck. I schedule appointment for following Wed at 8 am. I took the truck in and set for 3 hours while they test it.
The results are no leaks, has to be a loose gas cap, they flashed computer to clear codes, should all be good just be sure to tighten gas cap properly. This set me off, I have been driving for 25 years and surely have tightened a gas cap before as I explained to this young man. I proceeded to my salesman and asked for them to fill my truck up again, since most of my first tank of gas was used going back and forth to have light fixed. They did refill it. As I get on my street the light comes back on for the 4th time. I called back and told them I want it taken in and kept till fixed and I need a loaner for my business. I am told they don't have loaner trucks and I would have to wait on a list for a loaner car!!! I have owned several Dodges and used this dealer 3 times but I am thinking I am done with both. Should have bought Ford!!!!

They tell me to bring it back, they did the dye test again and found a bad gasket, problem fixed!! Now our second issue is well we don't know. The dealership don't know either. The traction stability light was coming on and staying on while at the same time the tire pressure sensor is beeping and flashing in the dash. I called the dealership starting on the first of September and I called them everyday. I was told by one of the service associates that unless it doesn't start or leaves me stranded, then it should be fine just keep driving it. 4 associates, 2 managers and over a week later, they call me to bring it in that was on 9/10/14. I am a dog trainer. I needed a good, dependable truck for my business. Lots of my friends have Dodge Rams (different versions) and one has over 400,000 miles on his Diesel. I pull horse trailers. I am on the road a lot and need good transport for dogs and me. So, after much research and recommendations of Dodge Ram, I decided to go that route. When I looked it up under consumer research articles, it was one of the highest recommended trucks on the road.
Just last week (October, 2014), my dealership sent me a letter wanting to "buy back" my truck for a good sum. Stated this was the most popular model and they were in "desperate" need of them and had a waiting list of people. At that time, I had only $2,000.00 before paying off my Dodge Ram. I opted not to sell my truck to the dealership and "trade up". I needed a vehicle that would last me at least 200,000 miles and keep me free of truck payments for at least 5 years. Then I would trade up, or not, depending on how well my truck was holding up. I have always done the proper maintenance on my truck when it was needed. Oil change, fluid changes and checks, tire rotations, new brakes, new tires and babied it, because hey, its a Dodge Ram and will last me at least 10 years or 200,000 miles.
Needless to say, that was not to be. On a trip home from Illinois, just across the Indiana line, my truck blew the engine. When the mechanics checked my truck and took the head off, it showed every bit of 100,000 miles. After much discussion and more research, I was told that this particular model, 2008 dodge Ram 1500 had aluminum in the valves and should have had steel. No wonder it fell apart at 6,000 miles out of warranty.
The story gets better. Because I lost compression in my truck, I lost almost all control of my brakes and steering. I was in Poseyville, Indiana at the time. It almost cost me a dog grooming parlor, but fortunately I was able to get the truck into the gravel parking lot and stopped. I have called around to see my options and presently I am at $5,000.00 to get a rebuilt engine and have it installed. My truck is at a friend's in another state and it cost me $350.00 to have it towed to their house. Towing it back to Kentucky was financially out of the question. My full coverage insurance refunded me $80.00 of this.
So, now I am out of a work vehicle and I have no vehicle to drive. That puts me in the position of making the rest of my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck payments (I owe a whomping $2000.00) and the cost of renting a car until I can save the money to have mine "fixed". At that point I will have to sell it or whatever. But I still have to pay my house payment, utilities, office rent space for my business, etc.
I am not whining, I am not feeling sorry for myself, so you haters and naysayers keep it to yourself. I am thoroughly pissed that I researched a truck, did my best to make the right choice for my business and now I am out a vehicle. Bottom line; This was not a used truck. It was a brand new, right off the show room floor vehicle, cared for and babied (yes, I can prove it... I have every oil change and filter, etc. ever put on it) because I tried to choose the right vehicle for me. It lasted less than 4 years, and has 106,000 miles on it... and I paid a very hefty price for this piece of junk that was touted as one of the best trucks on the market.
Kentucky’s useless Lemon Laws: The Kentucky Lemon Law applies when, during the first year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), following delivery of a new vehicle: The dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times, or the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more. To qualify for the Lemon Law, the problem must substantially impair the use, value, or safety of the automobile. Vehicles leased after July 15, 1998 are also covered.
Kentucky Informal Dispute Resolution System or Arbitration: Kentucky requires manufacturers to provide new vehicle owners with a cost-free informal dispute resolution system. The decision is binding on the manufacturer but not the consumer. You qualify if the dispute happened in the first two (2) years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first), and you are a Kentucky resident AND you purchased the vehicle in Kentucky.

Bought my Laramie in April 2014. Always was a Ford man - decided to try the Cummins. Bought brand new and wow this is the biggest letdown of my life. Since the second week of buying both front seats came apart at the fasteners and as of 8/21/14 I am waiting for the okay to replace them from Chrysler. The fourth week came around with a check engine light on so with broken seats that ripped my wife's dress I took it to the dealer. They said they can't figure out the code it produced so they just reset it. Two weeks later it was on again along with def service at dealer also tire pressure monitor system failed and the data radio has lost all presets and cuts in and out. Took to another dealer and they said they're ordering parts and the radio had a recall.
One month later came out from work to drive the two hour ride home from work - truck won't start, had to wait for tow truck. Now I am at a third dealership with my 68 thousand dollar truck chained down to a tow truck and I repeat the process of explaining the broken seats check engine light def service light tire monitoring needs service radio data system is still broke after the first recall etc. They call me a week later saying it is all fixed...I drove the two hours back making my wife miss work because they won't issue a truck to borrow while yours is getting fixed. Show up and nothing is fixed but they ordered all the parts. The truck starts though but still has broken seats def service by dealer tire pressure monitoring service are all still there. They ordered parts and will call. They told me it was a loose battery connection.
I laughed cause that was my first thought as I checked it being I am a local 12 heavy equipment mechanic for the last 18 years and had my service truck right there. They lie cause I was fed up and got the Chrysler resolution team involved, the day I was stranded two hours away from home not returning to my house until 2am 11 hours after my truck wouldn't start and my wife got off work and picked me up. I have owned the truck 7 months and have been to the dealer 7 times - nothing has been fixed, just ordered with no call backs.
After this month I'm giving it back to the bank and will have a repossession all because Chrysler fiat ram cares nothing about customer service or their disgusting product. To all my union brothers, don't buy a ram or dodge - it will be a disaster you won't ever recover from. Stick with the Rord super duty or Chevrolet, they won't leave you and yours helplessly stranded lost and confused in the dark.

I owned a 98 Dodge Ram right off the showroom floor and before I gave it to my son, it only had two major issues. One was a recall for towing package, they had to weld an extra piece of metal to the trailer hitch. The other issue was, I am assuming the same as most other people that owned that year with the Dashboards that fell apart.
I currently own a 2011 Cummins Turbo Diesel, that had the left tie rod recall, took the truck into my local dealership, oh and I bought from a privately owned dealership about 200 miles from where I live. The dealership I took it to for the recall didn't ask any questions or anything about doing the work. I bought this truck in July of this year and have already put over 5K miles on it and she's running like a dream.
In my opinion, if you bought your truck for something other than work, then you bought the wrong thing. These are work trucks, built to be USED!!!! If you bought it for the NAV or the Phone or fancy Radio, then maybe you should have looked into buying something else for that price, like a Benz, BMW, Audi or Volvo. Just my opinion. Oh the 98, when I gave it to my son 9 months ago, had over 120K miles on it. The Cummins I traded my Challenger for and only paid 23K for it. Just because these vehicles have all that fancy stuff on them doesn't make them not be a Truck!

Serviced reg, kept in garage, never wrecked, NOT in a salt air environment and looks brand new on the inside. Noticed that the paint was coming off on the cab and is degenerating other places. Took it to a body shop to have a quote on painting. Come to find out, Dodge admitted that the paint on this year’s truck was defective & had no clear coat. Contacted Dodge through letters to corporate. There is nothing wrong with the truck except that Dodge's paint was defective. As was told to them - there is a very little trade in value due to the paint being defective.
Dodge also stated that the paint company has warranties that have nothing to do with Dodge so it would be my responsibility to correct their mistake. Their solution was to give me up to a 4% discount (off the sticker price) on a new truck or would work on a trade in which equals out to approximately $2,000 +/- either way. Dodge also stated that most people don't keep trucks that long. Wow, Dodge needs to spend the money to fix what they knew was wrong to begin with. Pictures are available!

Upon taking the truck in a week later was informed by Christopher's Dodge that we had a completely plugged EGR Cooler and it would cost around $3200.00 to fix. This has been a problematic part with Chrysler and if replaced during the 5 year 100,000 miles warranty it would be paid for. Well since our vehicle falls out of the 5 year warranty period they would only reduce the cost of the labor. Even though the vehicle only has 17,000 miles and looks like it came off the showroom. We were informed we were not loyal customers since we had not done our oil changes there. On December 31, 2012, I purchased a 2013 Dodge Dart at the Dodge Dealership in Marlow Heights, MD. Two months after having the vehicle, I began to have electrical problems where the left turn signal would not work. I took it to the dealership three times and they could not get it to work so I was offered to purchase a new Dodge Dart in May of 2013, and the Dodge dealership paid off the first vehicle. Well, it has been a little over a year and I have begun to have problems and I am afraid to even drive the vehicle now for safety reasons.
In June of 2014, my vehicle would not start. I had to get a jump and from that time, I needed a jump every time I started the vehicle. I took it to the dealership and they worked on the vehicle for about a week. In mid-July of 2014, I took my car on a road trip and while out of state, my car would not start again and this is after I was told I received a brand new battery. I was afraid that I would not make it home and had to get a jump from a stranger while out of town just to make it home. Now, every time I want to head out, I am afraid that my car will not start and I just don't feel safe. I can be out in the evening and not be able to make it home; I should not feel this way having a one-year old vehicle.
A few days later, the entire car reset on its own as well, all the radio stations that were pre-set were set back to factory as well as the clock; I am sure this is not normal. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they worked on it for four days and said they could not find anything wrong with my vehicle and sent me home with another problem: a damaged vehicle frame, bent rocker panel and the paint is now chipping. I have spoken with the customer service multiple times about many of these issues and I don't think they are listening.
I work full-time so I cannot drive back and forth to the dealership; I cannot afford to continue to take off or be tardy for work. Today, August 4, 2014, I took the vehicle into the service center at the dealership because I have the day off. They refused to work on my vehicle without charging me stating that I could have ran over a pot-hole, I explained there's no pot-hole that I know of that I could have run over that will cause the frame of my car to point outwards.
Overall, I am now stuck with a vehicle that I do not feel safe driving because I never know if it will start or when the next problem when arise and as a customer of Dodge, I do not feel respected as they damaged my vehicle and have not offered to even fix it even though they damaged it. I do not want another Dodge Dart as I feel unsafe and it should be re-called.

I caused a major traffic. Lucky me it didn't happen the night before that I took my family for a ride. The dealer is ignorant of the major defect. First they said it is a computer problem and then they said it is transmission. They don’t have a 8' truck to loan me and I had to stay out of job. And seems like this won’t be the end of this problem.

I have a 2014 Dodge Lone Star I bought in March. I was trying Dodge for the first time in my life and I will never do that again. I have about 9000 miles on my truck all highway miles but it all started at like mile 5000 something. I have been to dealership three times, left it there twice and it still isn't fixed. They explain that it can't be fixed because where the dealership is located at the speed limit is lower and by policy they can't exceed it. But to really feel the fault you need to go by the speed limit up the highway and they tell me to go to a dealership closer to that speed limit.
I will never go back to that dealership or service department. They state they will call and never do. While my truck was there if I didn't call to check on it they never would have told me nothing. They should not be in business.

My husband and I co-signed a new vehicle loan for our son, Shawn **. He purchased a 2014 Dodge Dart from Towbin Dodge in Henderson, Nevada. He 2/15/2014, the car has been pretty good, however the air conditioner went out on it in May 2014. He had purchased every optional package of protection for this car that was available taking it from $24,855.00 to final cost of $30,424.38 not including the interest that will be paid by the time the loan is final and paid off. However after the kids fought with Dodge here in Kingman, AZ and got nowhere, I called Towbin Dodge and explained what was going with the car and that our local dealer doesn't want to mess with it, would rather just shovel crap at the kids. So they took the car and dropped it off at Towbin Dodge... Today Towbin called Shawn and advised that his car was going to cost $700.00 to fix the air conditioner.
They advised him the air condenser unit was bad, as well that it was due to a rock? I find this ridiculous, the condenser unit is located in a very well let's say hard to hit with a rock if you were aiming. The car was only 3 - 3 1/2 months old. If a rock really did fly up from underneath, find its way around the radiator through the spinning fan blades, back around the water pump and back upward flying into the condenser... I would have thought something else would have been damaged along the way.
Relative to this subject, if a rock from a road can so easily make its way past the lower protection plates, and above stated scenario wouldn't this be a problem for all Dodge Darts? I don't believe that this is this case. I believe the dealerships are not wanting to take care of this matter. They treat the kids just like kids and shoveled crap at them today. I was unable to attend due to work. I just don't buy it! Please help me or point me in a direction to get this taken care of without the flimsy reason that they gave and giving no other options but give us money. Optional Packages purchased with car: Oil Changes, Lifetime VSC, Polysteel, Red Alert, Ultimate. Thank you for your time, I sincerely hope you can head me in the right direction.

I first had a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. It ran fine until 2013 when it would suddenly stop while driving and start up again on its own. Not being able to accelerate from an intersection because it decided to stop and restart with a semi-truck coming is a bit scary. After several trips to the dealership where it was bought and no solution, I traded the vehicle in on a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn Diesel. Guess what? This truck does the same thing only more often. Of course, the dealership has no answer to the problem except that I must be driving with my foot on the brake, WRONG.
What an experience to be going down the road pulling a racecar trailer and having the truck do its stop and start thing. Intersections are even more exciting. Come on Chrysler, how about getting things right before someone (including me) gets killed. Oh yes, the truck stopped and started 3 times within a 10 mile radius from our home to the local store yesterday. Now I have another piece of junk that I am paying the bank for and do not know how long it will be before it ever gets fixed or completely goes to H---. Since the 2011 had a Hemi and the 2014 has the new diesel engine, think it must be something else besides the engines???

2003 Ram truck 1500 Crew PU 4x4 Quad - I purchased my Ram new in 2003 and absolutely love this truck. I take very good care of my truck and in return it takes very good care of me. Last week I had a roll over - sideways luckily and walked away without a scratch. This truck is built like a tank. Though the insurance company totaled it, I was offered a fair amount of settlement and intend to fix my baby up. Now, I did hear from several sources in multiple states that Dodge's newer trucks are way below the quality level of their older models such as mine. What I can't determine is exactly when (what year) Dodge started messing with a very, very strong, dependable vehicle. So, for you folks that purchased a newer Dodge truck, I regret that you will not be experiencing the wonderful, dependable, strong truck of years ago. Dodge, you messed up and are losing and will continue to lose the large number of faithful Ram customers because you decided to ruin a wonderful product... So, so sad.

The track bar broke on my truck and I had lost steering. I managed to cross over two lanes of traffic to the emergency lane and crawl home at 25 miles per hour. When I called Dodge, the woman at the recall center said that they went by VIN numbers only and that my VIN number was not on the recall list. Therefore it could not have been the track bar that failed. As she continued, she said that they knew only 1500 trucks had the wrong smaller truck part and because my VIN was not on the list. It could not have been the track bar. I asked where do I go to get it fixed and submit proof of the track bar being the wrong size and she said it's up to me to get it fixed and it's not Dodge's fault if the wrong size was installed. But they would appreciate me being a Dodge customer. I HATE DODGE! Every Dodge we ever had, the driver's door come off the hinges or they break leaving us to weld the door shut, suspensions go, engines go. Grrrrr, frustrating.

As a result, when this part fails, the engine will only run on 6 cylinders and since there are no replacements, the truck is unrepairable. In my case, I have a truck with only 112,000 miles on it and it is only good for salvage. I bought the truck in May of last year with only 18000 miles on it. I changed the oil as soon as I bought it (DelVac Mobil 1, 15-40wt syn). Abt 3000 miles later I got the change oil soon message. So I changed it. Another 3000 mile goes by and I got the same message again, but this time I called my local Dodge Ram dealer (Huntington Beach). They told me that the 7500 mile oil change interval is just an approximation. I also noticed that when I drained the oil (into a 5 gal bucket) I noticed the oil level was abt an inch and a half from the top. The dip stick is hard to see if the oil level is higher than it should be. So I took notice to that, so now after another 3000 miles I took an oil sample via Quinn Cat. and it came back with low oil viscosity with an 8.5% of fuel in the oil.
I've tried to get help via my local Dodge dealership and all I got was "No engine light, then we can't do anything." I don’t feel that any of what I've explained is normal. Is there anything you can do to help. Well I got my truck back from Dodge and they told me that 8.5% fuel dilution is? Normal? I can't believe that. They also said that they did a comprehensive injector test. The only thing that I saw in the paperwork that they gave me was that the tech pulled the valve cover and looked at the injectors and stated he didn't see any leaks. Also the tech smelled in the engine, and it didn't smell of fuel. That, is as far as I can see is their BIG test.
Anyway, my VIN is **. My oil change intervals are May 25, 2013, 18700 miles (That’s when I bought the truck), Aug 24, 2013, 22176 miles, Nov 17, 2013, 26659 miles (This is when I pulled over 4 1/2 gallons of oil/fuel mix out of the engine), Jan 21, 2014, 29732 miles (This is when I took the oil sample). Changed oil Mar 24, 2014, 32980 (Oil Sample 9% rule in oil), April 27, 2014 (Oil sample no results yet). Now, I'm not the smartest cookie on the planet, but if I get 8.5% & 9% of fuel in the oil at only 3073 mile between oil changes, something is wrong (In my Opinion). Thanks for your time. VIN: **, Mileage: 35281, Servicing Dealer: Huntington Beach Dodge.

I have been a Mopar fan for a long time (that is all that I own). I needed new brakes on the front end of my 2007 Ram 1500, 4x4 four door pick-up ( the originals finally wore out). I usually do all of my own maintenance work on my vehicles, so I purchased new rotors, brake pads and small parts kit at my local parts supplier. Once I got into the job, I discovered that my new pads were much larger than the ones on my truck. Thinking that the counter man had made a mistake, I checked online to see what the correct part number was. The counter man had given me the correct part, apparently the factory had installed the brakes for a two door truck on my four door truck. These brake pads are significantly smaller than what should have been installed. I feel, that as a result, my safety has been compromised.
My truck is equipped with a hemi which has had several power adders installed, and I occasionally tow a trailer with it. With these smaller brakes, I no longer feel as safe as I did, I wonder how many times in the past my brakes were ready to fade, and I was unaware. I am just reporting this to alert other owners to be aware that they might have the same condition as me. I feel that Chrysler did me a disservice and showed a certain lack of regard for my safety, and the safety of those that I share the road with. I am now in the process of researching which parts are the correct parts for my truck so that I may replace them for my peace of mind. The truck is my baby, so I won't consider getting rid of it. I still like Mopar, and their styling, but I am extremely disappointed in them. I purchased a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 HEMI Quad Cab with 30,000 miles. It was a big purchase for me so I couldn't afford costly repairs. Well, I picked the wrong truck for that! Within the first year the truck spent a lot of time at a couple different dealers getting the dodge "kinks" out of it. A steering box, steering pump, 2 sets of ball joints, 2 sets of axle joints, front bearings, lower control arms, front cv drive shaft, 2 tie rod ends, clutch and flywheel, front Y pipe and sensors, wheel hub assemblies and other odds and ends. Now after so much work the steering is soo tight that every small move on the steering wheel the truck swerves in that direction and will not center itself.
To add icing on the cake, even though I took good care of the body and kept it washed and waxed constantly, the clear coat is peeling off of the roof and top of the doors and rust bubbles are showing up everywhere. I drove it daily for 2 years until I parked it because I can not afford to keep repairing it or keeping the 14mpg engine fueled up. I spent hours talking to warranty reps and Chrysler and I would have been better off talking to my dog. According to the instructions there was to be a screen prompt that provided a Unit ID and a validation code. The next step was to access a computer and go to garmin.com/auto-update/maps/activate. However, I was never able obtain the two items(unit ID and validation code) because the DVD disk fail to provide these two items and went directly into downloading the new maps. When the disk went into downloading the new maps, it deleted the old maps. It takes about two hours to download the new maps with the vehicle running.
Since the DVD disk failed to prove the first two items (unit ID and Validation code) I was not able to access the unlock code in order to complete the download process. Now for the real problems; I am currently not able to use my GPS system in the truck, no map access. I called customer support at 1-800- 800-1020 who referred me to another custom service at 866-462-8837 to inquire about the problem with the DVD disk. The person I talked with did not have any knowledge about my GPS system in my vehicle. I must mention that the support center is a call center was not able to provide any remedy or suggestion concerning the DVD disk problem. All they recommended was to take it to a dealer. I took the vehicle to my dealer and they stated there was nothing wrong with the GPS system that it most likely a bad map update disk. So I called the support center (call center) back and advised them of what my dealer said (bad disk) and asked for disk replacement.
The service center stated that I would have to send the DVD disk back to the manufacture (HERE, LLC) before anything could be done about a new Disk. So made next step was to send back the Disk and Hoping for a new disk so I could get my GPS working before vacation time. I sent the disk back on 04-10-2014 by certified mail (cost $8.68). On 05-09-2014, almost a month later I received a phone call from the producer of the map update disk (HERE, LLC) that they are going to refund the purchase price of the disk ($160.00) since they are not able to provided a new update DVD disk for my GPS.
When I advised them that my GPS was not working since attempting to update my GPS with their DVD disk almost two months ago their only recommendation was to take back to the dealer. I order the map update from Chrysler Group in good faith but failed to get any real support from them or the Disk manufacturer. On checking their website that offered the map updates I found that the product for GPS update was temporarily out of stock. Apparently the manufacture (HERE, LLC ) realized a problem with the Map update disc. Now I'm still without use of my $60,000.00 Dodge Ram Uconnect 430N navigation system because of a company Chrysler uses to produce map updates for their vehicles. I believe that HERE, LLC should have made an effort to insure that what they produce for consumers are flawless and without error when they want people to buy their product. In this case HERE, LLC has not made any effort to contact consumers and correct their problem with the map update Disk. Very unhappy with Chrysler and customer service.

I do not work the truck, except to plow my own 500 ft. driveway and to tow a 10 ft. enclosed motorcycle trailer to trade shows about 9 times a year, all under 200 miles each way. Other than that, it is used to commute to my shop, or for enjoyment, hunting etc. All was pretty good with it for the first 18K miles.
Then the rear end went, with a bang. It went again about 20K later. The fuel pump, 5 injectors, 4 coils, all spark plug wires, intake manifold gaskets, and the catalytic converter went bad. Two O2 sensors, the headlight dimmer switch, the ignition switch and the body control computer failed. Both upper and lower ball joints on both sides had to be replaced along with the tie rod ends. Both right and left front axle u-joints failed along with the front drive shaft u-joints. The rear drive shaft u-joints failed.... 4 times EACH. The tail light electrical harness failed. The hood latch broke twice. The tailgate latch failed after 150 miles, causing the gate to fall open and dent itself on the trailer we were hauling. The e-brake failed. All four rotors rotted away, and 2 calipers failed.
The front axle bearings failed. The bolts holding the left exhaust manifold rotted away, TWICE. The right hand manifold bolts failed once. The left side headlight harness failed. The catalytic converter failed again. The transmission shift control malfunctioned. The muffler rotted out. The tailpipe fell off. The oil pan rusted through. The air conditioning blender doors broke twice..... $1000 each time. The serpentine belt tensioner fell off. The anti-lock brake controller failed. The left side of the pickup box rusted through above the wheel well. The sliding rear window leaked from day one. The headlight switch broke. The body control computer failed a second time. The check engine light came on for a total of at LEAST 40 times, and was checked, reset, fixes made and turned off each time.
AND, that was only after I only started counting after the first year. AND, all of this took place in 62,000 miles. The truck cost me $8500 out of pocket for the last year I owned it. After 62K miles, I FINALLY got rid of it. And, I am NOT hard on my truck. I have another vehicle for work. THIS one was for pleasure. It received proper maintenance and service, and still was a POS. NEVER buying Dodge again, and this was the fourth I had........ NEVER again.

I happen to recommend Dodge trucks. Yes they have a power steering problem based on the tires being too big for the system installed. I own an 03 ram 4x4. In '04 I had steering problems, I bought a custom rack and pinion for 300 bucks, new greasable ball joints (the originals go dry and hard on steering) and the tallest narrow tires I could find. Along with a 35 dollar steering pump from jegs 4x4 so in total about 500 bucks. It's now 2014 and my Ram is still proving why I have nothing but Dodge trucks for the last 20 years. Every truck has it habitual problems (Chevy trans), Ford rear ends blown, Toyota body and frame rusting early. But if you own a truck and your dealer can't fix it, you need a new dealer!!

2006 dodge 3500 dually diesel 4x4 megacab - Love my truck don't get me wrong. Paying for it is one thing, keeping it on road is another. Not looking for legal action but want to say I was very happy when warranty was over and didn't have to listen to Dodge dealers lie to me and repeatedly bring my truck in to be left for entire days to fix minor things repeatedly. Unfortunately first major repair as failed transmission which was just after warranty. Bought truck new and never abused a day, never towed more than 27' travel trailer and did all recommended service. Before warranty was up needed steering pump, tie rod fell off in driveway, many u-joints, rear of vehicle issues and vibrations, tach is sporadic, wiper motor, and more.
At 76000 km they said e brake was screwed and as a favor would do work if I bought $1100 worth of parts because they were fixing warranty stuff anyway... I did. Now I'm suspicious and curious about the e brake because I just paid a good shop $1900 to rebuild it because the e brake blew apart, my rotors were garbage, seals were taken out and such.... why? I have never abused truck or even used the e brake (may be one problem) and most km's are highway. 147000 km's on a 2006 in 2014.... never abused. I work away a lot and just want to go home and enjoy sports trips with kids... I am leaving out a lot but I'm tired of writing and am still very pissed about recent bill. Am I missing something?
Mechanic thinks I drove with e brake on for damage I had... I did not! Used to call truck my baby, but to save face I call her my old girl now. :) Wife begs me to buy a new truck. Funny thing is I bought this because it's my dream truck and only way I could afford it was to purchase over 8 years like a moron... so I'm still paying for it, lol. Don't know how long I will keep it because I really do love driving it and would die without mega cab but.... do the repairs ever end? Divorce over a truck? ;)

Dodge Ram pickup. I want to start by saying this is all my personal opinion, take it or leave it, I just wanted to share my experience for anybody that is considering purchasing a diamer chrysler product. I have purchased over 179K personally of Dodge, Chrysler Jeep products, (this is not including the interest paid for financing) and I am truly upset over the lack of customer service for loyal customers as evidenced by the below correspondence from the corporation customer service. I also require fleet vehicles in my business, and have not included the dollars spent for dodge products (Trucks and Vans) in the totals.
I would like to warn anyone considering a Dodge, Chrysler, or Jeep product to do your homework and remember the old adage of you get what you pay for and the mantra that I am sure that the executives of the corporation have posted on their desks: PT Barnum: there is a sucker born every minute! My fleet vehicles over the last 25 years have included all makes and models, the dodge trucks have the worst record for duration of any of the other brands we have purchased.
Generally we have to retire the Chrysler products at less than 100K miles, due to major failures or repeated minor failures. I made the decision to retire a RAM 1500 at only 30K due to repeated failures, a/c, sensors, rear end, etc. although these items were all covered under warranty, in the service industry, lost time is lost money, not to mention the transportation to the dealership, and all of the other associated direct cost. We traded it in on a Ford, it now has over 250K on it and is still running strong. With only the standard wear items being replaced, tires, belts, brakes, etc. I purchased the dodge vehicles personally due to the lower initial cost and the body styles and physical appearance. SUCKER!! I write this to warn anyone that is considering a product from this company that you can either pay now, or pay later.

Purchased a new 2013 Dodge 2500 from O' Daniels Chrysler in Fort Wayne, IN. In Oct. the 1st problems I had was with the steering & transmission. The truck would not steer straight down the road. I took the truck back to O'Daniels 3 times before they found a bad tire, and it still doesn't drive like other ones I have driven. The tranny jerks when it shifts, sometimes it clunks in really bad. O'Daniels said they could not find anything wrong. After taking the truck back several times, O'Daniels informed me that Chrysler told them it is normal for the Dodge 2500 to jerk & clunk into gear, so there's nothing they can do.
In the meantime my wife & I are smelling fumes, we blamed it on semis & other vehicles. Then we noticed fumes when there was nothing else around. The fumes got worse & they happen every 400 to 600 miles, I took truck back to O'Daniels. They kept the truck for 2 weeks & drove it 100 miles. They said they could not reproduce the problem, therefore there is not anything wrong. We picked the truck up from O'Daniels. Within 500 miles the truck put fumes in the cab, this time we had to stop and get out of the truck. I called O'Daniels and they said it did not show up on the computer so they couldn't do anything.
O'Daniels said they would trade us our truck for a 2014 truck, if I would pay an additional 18,000 dollars. The consequence of that is that I am still driving a Dodge Ram with a jerky, clunking transmission and with fumes in the cab. I find it shameful that Chrysler does not care anymore than this about the consumers' safety & health. There is a lot more to be said, but this is about as mild as I can make it.

They said 4000 to fix..I would have went for a ford but they had my truck on the racks. I traded for a 2012 Laramie 3500 dually megacab. .12 miles a gallon..my other truck 5.9 got 22 to 23 mpg. Just seen a recall for the front end...thinking about trading for a ford before the headache begins. By the way my 06 only had 113000 when I traded it.

Well, where do I start. We bought a truck from Kernersville Dodge. It was a $3500.00 Dually and paid cash for the truck. We did this in October and we still do not have the title for this vehicle. We have called the dealer and Chrysler several times and each one has told me that the title was mailed. Then I spoke to a manager and she said, "Well, we don't have the title to send you," so she didn't know what the first 3 people were talking about. We think that the dealer had not paid off the truck and they still had a lien on the title. I couldn't tell you. I have never been lied to so much.
In the meantime. We have had the truck in there for at least 5 times for the vibration. It has been to 3 dealerships now and still Chrysler doesn't want to make it right. Kernersville tried to balance it and then said nothing was wrong. We fussed and fussed until Chrysler sent us to Nichols in Burlington. They did put 2 ties on the front and it was 2 totally different tires then what was on the truck. And they didn't report even doing that job. We fussed about that and they wouldn't make it right. So, we go back to Chrysler and tell them that we are going to get an attorney and get the truck returned and get our money back. The next day we get a call and they have made us an appointment for Crown Dodge in Greensboro. I take the truck in there and the service advisor says oh yeah we had one just like this when he worked at another dealer and we had to fight and fight Chrysler before they would change the tires and it is back tires that we have the issue with. So, he called yesterday and said that Chrysler wouldn't make the tires good and we would have to fight with them. So, I pick it up again today.
The other issue was that we had the radio go out and Kernersville ran a test and said to our face that they would change the radio out. We said okay, expecting them to call when they got it in. And we would AGAIN drive 100 miles round trip to get that done. Well, when the Crown Dodge place called Kernersville Dodge to see if they ordered that radio, the guy said, "Oh, we already changed that radio out." We knew was a lie. When my husband had talked to them the week before to check on all of this, they said that they had no record of getting a radio or that they even tested the radio. They would have to do that again. We had the paperwork where they did it. So, did they do the test or not. We know they didn't change it out. So, Crown ran their own test and yes the radio is bad and they ordered another.
So, now I have in my possession a 60,000 dollar truck with no title and mix match tires that can't be rotated and a radio that goes on and off on its own. Hmmm, but Kernersville Dodge won't make it right. But they were all fine when I was getting ready to make that check out. Oh, yeah I didn't mention that they put the tag under the wrong weight and it was supposed to be a farm tag and it wasn't. Kernersville Dodge did that and didn't want to make that right either. We were told to pay the taxes on the truck and buy another tag. And guess what? I don't have a title or registration to get a tag. The temporary tag has run out. The worst experience I have ever had with a car dealer. They suck. And what makes me so mad is that they don't care. They really could care less if you are a happy customer or not.

For the past two months, my truck has been in and out of three different dealerships. The truck stalls randomly. When it does, I lose steering and brakes. I have paid over $2000.00 in repairs and now the dealership wants another $1000.00 and said it might not fix the problem. Chrysler has been notified because the truck went into a ditch because of the steering and brakes went out when it stalled. The mechanic also notified Chrysler because they couldn't figure out what the problem is. Today Chrysler told me that there is nothing they will do and the only thing I can do is pay or trade/sell the truck because it is an '03 with 107000 miles. I have owned the truck for one year and three months. I understand that it is used and there is no warranty but when three dealerships and Chrysler techs can't figure out the problem, I think Chrysler should do more than what they are. I think that this is a very big safety issue and they would want to make sure that it was taken care of but it seems as if their only concern is for me to pay more money.

The transmission shifted into 4th gear and would not shift from there into a lower or higher gear. The truck (2011 Dodge Ram 1500) has 79,000 miles on it. You could still shift it into reverse, but to go forward it was stuck in 4th gear. The truck is still at the dealer. They have told us we would have to pay for the controller they replaced even though this has not fixed the problem. They are now working on the internal parts of the transmission.

On 7/15/13, I purchased a Dodge Ram truck from Smolich Motors in Bend. I love the Truck but the finance officer wasn't clear and didn't explain all the extra cost he added on to our deal. After examining the paperwork within a month later, I decided to cancel the extended warranty and the service that I was told was free. I then decided to go through my credit union for the finance but they had to wait for the extended warranty to go through the other bank and be refunded first. 90 days later they finally refunded the $2,200. Then the service contract I was told would come directly to me and wouldn't have to go through the bank sense it was through the dealership and it would only take two to three weeks.
Well that was back in October and now we are in to December and I still don't have the refund for the service which I never wanted and never used. The last time I checked they told me it had to go through the bank and the bank would send it back to me. I checked with the Bank and they had not received it. So now we have my money in limbo somewhere and nobody will do anything about it. ** at the dealership has treated me like He doesn't have the time for me and I'm unimportant. His excuse for all the mix up was the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I found him rude and very unprofessional. I don't enjoy being treated with disrespect. I will never deal with that dealership again. Just would like to get the refund they owe me.
