I purchased this Dodge Ram 1500 late in 2015. Regularly serviced, 13000 miles. New condition. Was driving it at low speed when it stalled. I pulled off the road and noticed flames, called 911 until the fire company arrived. My vehicle was engulfed in flames. I darn near popped the hood. Glad I did not. Anyone have pending lawsuits against Dodge Ram? I have seen several posts about an alternator problem that leads to fires but perhaps they are hushing things up. Any similar experiences and recommendations? I have owned 3 Dodge Rams and purchased 5 Chrysler products.

Bought a Ram 4500. Had 6 weeks then dealership had for 6 weeks due to a faulty fuel tank. Customer service at Ram headquarters agreed to send me a "goodwill" gesture then revoked the offer. Truck was bought for Hotshot business. Lost over twenty thousand and then they kicked me again by revoking the goodwill gesture. Sorry people.

I purchased a RAM ProMaster 3500 to remodel and use as a RV to travel in my retirement. I purchased the Diesel so it would last a long time. The motor failed three times in 20,700 miles. The state of North Carolina titled it as a "Lemon". DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TRUCK. In addition Chrysler Customer Service lied to me on three (3) occasions, so do not trust them to make good on what they tell you. The old Chrysler is dead and the new owner Fiat is not to be trusted. Sell your Chrysler stock. The product appears to be a good price, the actual cost can not be calculated, I lost over $7,000 dollars over a 30 day period while I lived on the side of the road.

Bought this 2015 Ram with 24k on it and since that it has been only problems. Truck has either engine (5.7L hemi on it) or transmission problems. It shakes and hard to start in morning and also, don't downshift in time, when it needs and the exhaust system rattle under the truck. And after a few seconds (30-40 to be precise) it downshift and truck moves. It also jerks the transmission. Downhill it won't change gears until you get to the bottom of the hill or if I step on gas to give more speed (crazy stuff). Also in reverse it make a pitch noise. Took to dealer a few times already but they keep saying they can't reproduce the problem. I suggest take a ride with mechanics. They denied. They update the software but no changes at all. If you buying a truck get a Toyota at least. It’s well-made.

I can't move my steering column away from my knees! I was adjusting it and went to low apparently and now it will not come up! Additionally, the cruise control only works half the time and now I've read that there is a recall on the Dodge Ram Hemi 2014-2016 for the airbags in this steering wheel. I seriously feel unsafe in this vehicle. Traded in a 2014 Chevy Silverado because we wanted a lower monthly payment and ended up only getting a $55 per month break and all these problems. I knew better than to get a Dodge. For as expensive as this vehicle is, it's not worth more than my life.

2016 Ram 4x4 Ecodiesel MPG - Went in for software updates. They also changed a sensor that went out in the exhaust. Since this I cannot get over 20 MPG and before I use to get 28 to 31 MPG. I bought this and sold my Tundra for the MPG as I commute. What's up with this RAM? I think they should have to refund my money or fix it for 20 MPG. I could have bought a heavy duty 2500 or a gas truck? Has to be a law on this false MPG claims.

My Ram stopped in the middle of road 3 times now. First time I took it to the dealer they replaced a cable. Second time they replaced the mpc because the water went in it. It has been raining but I can't even take it to a car wash. And now the third, the engine cut off. The dealer is telling me it's the alternator and it's not covered under warranty because it was muddy. The cost is approx $2000. Let me just say that when I bought the Ram for work, it was to be able to travel in a construction site. Even they advertise it going in mud, mountains etc. I am very disappointed of this truck. Seems that I won't be able to take to work anymore and leave it in the parking at home since it won't survive mud. Never going to buy a Dodge truck ever again. The 60,000$ truck is not made for construction people.

We installed both a front and rear bumper replacement on a 2016 Dodge Ram. During the process we removed the sensors in the factory bumpers and reinstalled them in the aftermarket bumpers. The sensors failed to come back on so we sent it to the Dodge dealership for re-calibration. They discovered that six of the sensors had failed. The total bill will be just under $1000. How is it that these sensors are so sensitive that they cannot stand such a simple process as removal and re-installation? If these sensors are really this sensitive, they must be a faulty design and should be recalled.

When buying a vehicle normally buy to use not to always to be in the shop for repairs and waiting on parts or recalls. Frustration part is Ram don't care. If they would have developed a good vehicle from the start the EcoDiesel owners would not have this problem. Have tried to get Ram to buy back or supplement rebate on a gas truck with no success. Buyers beware of Ram's EcoDiesels. If buying a truck to have at home think twice.

I have a 2012 Dodge RAM 5.7 Hemi with a #5 misfire problem. The problem was reported to the dealership at the last oil change, but all they did was reset the fault code and returned the vehicle to service, exclaiming they "could not duplicate" the problem. Took it in last week and informed them of my concerns. Two days ago, received a call from the Tech Representative requesting permission to accomplish a complete tuneup, i.e. spark plugs, possible bad coil pack, and to perform a fuel system clean and flush. Aghast, I responded that this was a complete waste of time!
On top of that, the service departments wants $775.00 dollars just for a tuneup. Obviously I think they are trying to find ways to make normal servicing so expensive that I would either choose to take my truck back and fix it myself (which voids the warranty), or to pay them a hell of a lot of money to do something that would only take about 1.5 hours. This is so they could pay the techs and the Reps labor for completing a warranty replacement, should it come down to that.
I already know what is wrong with the engine. #5 (and sometimes, 1, and 3 cylinders) have a history of failing due to faulty valve seat design. The hemi heads utilized pressed-in valve seats that are powder coated from Mexico (there's problem number 1), and these rings eventually work themselves out of the valve ports, mostly the exhaust side, but sometimes the intake side. As the seats back out, but doesn't completely fall out, compression is lost although not entirely gone. This explains why some of the misfiring only happens at 3/4 to WOT responses. In severe cases, the seats come out complete resulting in destroying the piston, the heads, and possibly the timing chain if enough forced impact occurs.
I have 4,000 miles left on the warranty, and it is quite clear that the dealership in Sumter South Carolina is trying to throw the vehicle back at me without actually repairing my truck. And if the tune-up doesn't solve the problem, they will have constituted SOME labor expenses from the most expensive tune-up in recorded history! $95 diagnostic charge, and nearly $700 bucks for a tuneup for no more than 1 to 2 hours of work!
What ticks me off is how Chrysler has continued to engage in mafia style treatment in forcing consumers to buy their crap, con them into buying the extended warranty, and yet refuse to honor the warranty when circumstances are warranted. How in the name of God are these people allowed to continue bamboozling the American people?
I have been screwed twice before from Dodge! My 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.4 liter lost a head gasket at 48,000 miles. Repairs were at my own expensive at about $650 bucks. A year later, the gasket failed again, only this time resulting in a seized engine! I next bought a 2002 Stratus R/T with the worthless 2.7 liter engine. This engine lost a water pump at 89,000 miles. But because the pump is internal, and a special tool is required to depressurize the timing chain tension pump, I was left with paying Chrysler some $900 dollars in repairs. 8 months later, it failed again only this time destroying the engine! Now my 2012 RAM may need an engine replacement, and at best, the dealership will choose a Jasper engine which are nothing but crap! Total crap! And that's even if the dealership doesn't try backing the truck back at me with a continued problem!
The solution folks? DO NOT BUY DODGE! And ignore some of the online trolls telling you they have over 300,000 miles and counting on their trucks and cars. Some (if not all) of those people are paid trolls to defend Chrysler's worthless piles of junk! The 5.9 engines were not that bad. Sure they were under-powered compared to the Hemi's, but very rarely did any 5.9 engines fail except under vehicle maintenance neglect. There is absolutely no reason why my 2012 Dodge RAM truck should have a worn camshaft, worn lifter roller, faulty valve-seat rings, and all leading to misfiring of cylinder 5 with under 100,000 miles accumulated!
Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me! Fool me thrice, then double shame on me! I swear to Chrysler that I will never buy another Dodge vehicle ever again! Moreover, I will ensure that no future customers are fooled into buying your pieces of crap! Facebook, Youtube, online forms will be filled with my rants! And trust me! I've personally seen three people in my town with this very same problem, 2 of which had theirs repaired under warranty, but the other screwed. Looks like I am next!

My experience terrible. Brought my new 2017 Ram 1500 in for wind noise issue coming in the doors. First dealer said it was my vent visors, still the same after they were removed. They had the truck for 5 days, said it was fixed and ready for pick up. So I took truck for ride, same issue as when it went in. Then the manager said he brought three trucks out and they all have the same wind noise. I told him then they should tell the buyer before they spend 60.000 for a truck that they're buying a truck that is not very well sealed. Not impressed because I just traded in my 2013 with no wind noise whatsoever with 160.000 kms on it. Nobody wants to help. RAM JUNK, POOR QUALITY VEHICLE. Bumper to bumper warranty ya right. PROBLEMS WITH 2015 DIESEL 3500 DODGE RAM!!! I can’t speak for any other truck but 2 weeks ago my truck had a message about the DEF pump and I took it in. And I have taken very good care of this truck, oil changes are on time, fuel filters get changed on time, I take it to the car wash regularly, the DEF fluid is put in as soon as it hits the ½ way mark, I put new tires on it. They replaced the pump and found that something electrical was causing the pump to burn up. Well yesterday 3/30/17 I was told that the part wouldn’t be in for 3 MONTHS!!! In that amount of time they could rebuild the entire truck. Now I can’t trust it even if I get it back to haul my 5th wheel or me for that matter.
My truck has 35,000 miles on it, however you don’t buy a truck to make huge truck payments on a something that you CAN’T DRIVE!!! I called CHRYSLER 1-866-726-4636 and they said someone would call me back in a couple days, but hey if they happen to not call you by Friday, you can call back on Monday. What the Hell!!! REPLACE THE WHOLE TRUCK OR OFFER ME SOMETHING!!! If you buy a 3500 Dodge Ram you best have someone follow you when you haul your 5th wheel once it gets to 35000 miles because let me tell you will be stranded on the side of the road!! And good luck having your truck to even get to a campground.
They said they would reimburse me for a rental car, NO just pay for it, and pay for my truck payments since CHRYSLER HAS MY TRUCK AND I DON’T! I love the looks of my truck but if I can’t drive it what good is it?!! I hope that anyone who has already purchased a 3500 Dodge Ram doesn’t have issues with blood pressure because this would definitely raise it even more. I don’t care where you buy a vehicle from. 3 ½ months is an unacceptable time frame for them to fix your vehicle. CHRYSLER SUCKS!!!

Brand New Truck with paint issues on the roof, inner door and metal shavings under paint in the bed. After weeks of contacting them, they approved the roof and the bed but they denied the claim for the door even when the area had rust on it and I just own the truck for like two weeks. If your trucks rust in two weeks then is poor materials used on it. Before they approved the truck to get fix, I fix the bed. My guy repair all the paint and metal shavings. I decided to spray a bed liner since it would be the best option to keep the bed in good shape. I sent the receipt and now Dodge Chrysler is giving me a hint that they might denied the claim since I installed a bed liner on top of the repairs. Are you kidding me, you should be praising me since I fix it for way less that was approved initially.
Crappy company, and by the way I had a 2007 Ram. I also own a charger and now have this problem on this Ram 2016 Laramie. Is incredible how they are risking a customer for a mere $597. This truck was 50K. Plus I'm stuck with this truck with a major problem (roof paint), Dodge who is going to pay me for the value lost for a crappy paint job done by you. I'm pretty sure this will come out on my truck report. Also if you have a problem with your dealer, then you are out of luck since they contact the dealer for everything. The dealer that I deal with is Arrigo Dodge in Fort Pierce FL. Good luck if you are in this area. They are as crappy as it gets. They are part of this problem since I took the truck for the pictures to them. They did not took my info so the case was just sitting there till I call them. Really mad customer

We are outraged because it's obvious it is caused by some manufacturing defect because there has been no damage to our truck and only a year old. In regards to a 2014 Ram 2500 - under 40K miles. I was recently involved in an accident which resulted in the truck rolling over multiple times. The speed of the truck was just over 50mph when it began to flip. At the end, the truck was sitting in the middle of the road on its roof, without a single airbag deployment. Regardless of FCA's comments, I think being the driver, I was in a much better position to dispute the seatbelt "slack" or tensioner. I wasn't driving leaning over the steering wheel, but somehow, with the seatbelt on, my chest slammed into it. If it did lock at any point, it was well after the point it should have. At the end, I was fully turned sideways in the seat, upside down, with over a foot between myself and the seat. Locking after the slack comes out doesn't constitute it "working" to me.
Public - be aware - FCA has claimed that the "vehicle" decides when to deploy airbags in a rollover event. (Note: - in their response, they do not specify these tolerance levels of course). I'll attach pictures showing the damage to the outside of the truck, along with the inside showing no airbag deployment. I will also paste FCA's direct comments. Look at the pictures. Imagine yourself or your loved ones in that vehicle. Then read the FCA comments. If after all that, you feel that there still is no need for airbag deployment, then go ahead and buy one. For those that believe they should have deployed - please get the word out.
For full disclosure - I did buy another 2500 myself. I was, until I received the FCA email an hour ago, a loyal RAM buyer. I bought the new truck 2 weeks ago with the hopes that FCA would have told me a sensor was bad, wire disconnected, or something that pointed to a failure. I never, in my wildest dreams, would have thought that something as violent as I went thru, did not warrant airbag deployment. (Also, it took about a month before they could get the vehicle inspected and respond back. Every call to them was a standard response - "you will hear back from someone in 1-2 business days.") I will be pleading with the dealer to take the truck back. Personally, I could not in good conscience put another person in that vehicle, fully knowing that in the same situation the air bags would not deploy.
FCA comments: "We have had the opportunity to review the results of our inspection, and must advise you we believe the air bag system operated properly, and as designed in this incident. Your Ram is equipped with a passive safety restraint system that consists of Seat Belt Tensioners (SBT), Side Curtain Air Bags, Side Seat Airbags, and driver and passenger Front Air Bags. The SBT's actuate to remove slack in the seat belts to snug the occupant into the seat at the onset of an accident. The Air Bag Control Module uses a roll rate sensor to determine the severity of a rollover event, and the appropriate response, activate the SBT's alone, or activate the SBT's in conjunction with the appropriate Air Bags. If the SBT's are sufficient to provide protection, then the air bag deployment is not merited. In your accident it was determined that only the seat belt tensioner deployment was necessary."

I bought my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 in 2006. If you don't beat it and keep up on the maintenance you will truck that runs forever. My truck has a 6.5 lift kit and 37.5 inch tires. The lift kits are popular for blowing out u-joints, not my Dodge. Everyone you know in the last 10 years that I owned my Dodge that owned a Ford or Chevy, has purchased 2 or 3 new trucks since, but me I still have Ram tough, with 170,000 miles on it. I guarantee I never had it leave me stranded, no issues other my wear and tear. It's normal for things to need replacing. I maintain my gem by replacing tires, air filter, changing fluids on time, repairing rust, cleaning injectors etc. If you neglect your responsibility and something fails it isn't Dodge's fault. You bought a Dodge for a reason. A Dodge is the only truck I will trust. It's nice to watch Ford owners complain that the tranny failed under 20,000 miles in a new truck as I sit back happy I have a Dodge.
If the company is at fault, they tell you, "That's we have such a thing called recalls!" I have a marketing degree, and I will use my skills to promote Dodge! Oh have I forgot to mention my Dodge was previously used in the mountains of Utah, and the previous owner rolled it, and amazingly after the roll the truck landed on all 4 wheels and it still drove off the mountain, that's when it was rebuilt and customized and I purchased it when it was 3 yrs old. You would think Dodge Ram is built tough! You think I would have had issues since but I haven't! So stop your insulting and blaming Dodge for your negligence. What you all have to say about this! Keep it up Dodge. You rock!!!

Purchased a 2015 ram approximately 15 months ago. Have had all kinds of issues with electrical, paint and body, moisture on the interior, seat covers, tires and airbags. I tried to take it back to the place I bought it but instead of addressing my issues was called "just another crazy" and turned away. After contracting Chrysler numerous time I had to contact BBB to get anything resolved.
Last interaction with Chrysler said I was eligible for a buyback after going through the national center for dispute settlement. With no resolve, come to find out national center for dispute settlement always sides with company which is why they sent me there. During this process I dealt with people who were rude and unhelpful who would hang up on me and not return calls and emails. Last time I tried to take it in for the latest issue (airbag light came on and advised service needed) was told they could not work on it because it was under arbitration even though this is a major safety issue.

I bought this Dodge ram 1500 2014 new and drove it for less than two years before the bumper started rusting, but because I put so many miles on it (40,000) it was not covered under the warranty. The tires needed replacing at around 25,000 miles. Had to replace an airbag sensor for over $500. Had to replace the fuel gauge sensor that is located in the fuel pump in the gas tank, that cost around $350. Had to take it in and have exhaust manifold bolts replace but that was covered under the 100,000 mile manufacturer warranty. They also replaced the right front axle because that was loose with play. Also covered under the warranty luckily. I have it in the shop right now and they believe the camshaft is bad which is covered under the 100,000 mile warranty also.
The truck has 92000 miles on it and is 3 years old this month. I have decided I will sell it before it turns 100,000 miles and buy maybe a Tundra or a Chevy but certainly not another Dodge. This was my second and I love my first one but this one drove me over the edge. I will also look for a dealer who seems concerned with my wants and needs. I do have to say I love the look of the Dodge truck. Let me begin by saying that I love my truck! But can tell you that Dodge service is subpar and over the top expensive. I took my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 into the place I had bought it from. When I put the key in nothing happened. They had it for 3 weeks. I told them just leave it like it is and had it towed to Dodge. Dodge had it fixed in 1 day. Great right? Well when I got in my truck to take it home the console was just set back in place. I brought the mechanic out to look at it. He said "That's the way it came in." "Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to drive this?" I had to take it back to the first place I went to finish the job Because he wasn't sure how to put the console back in. YOU'RE THE DEALER! It's your truck.
My second was when my key fob stopped working. I can't unlock my truck using my remote. I have to remove the key from its fob and unlock it "old School". I go to the dealer (the only place you can go) and they say "Sure, $300 please." "You're Kidding?" "Nope! That's why most people just use the key." "$30,000 and I have to use a key?" "Unless you give me $300". This brings me to my most recent fun filled experience. My engine light is on. After taking it to a trusted mechanic shop they tell me the only way they can get the light out is to take it to the dealer for an update on your system that only the dealer can do. In 2012 there was a "Technical service bulletin" issued for my truck. As I was NOT the original owner I was not notified.
Now in 2017 the only way I can get my truck to pass smog is to take it to Dodge and PAY $120 to have my system updated. THEIR SYSTEM updated in my truck. After all it takes Labor to plug my truck into a computer for 5 minutes and push START. When I asked if this would solve the issue they said maybe not. "You should have us do a diagnostic on it first for $210." "If it turns out to just need the update will that money be covered in the $210?" "No. The $120 will be added to the $210." "Sooo, I need to pay for an "update" to a system in one of your trucks when anything on my phone that is a Bug or systemic problem with their programming they just update it for free as it's a programming issue on their end and nothing I did". To quote "Yep". "And if I do get the diagnostic test done I'll still need to pay for the update regardless so you're going to get $330 no matter what?" "Sounds like it." "Does it at least come with lube?" "HaHa." I'm not laughing.
I called national customer service. Here Comes the final straw. He brings up that my warranty had run out. I told him that's impossible. I paid $1500 for the extended warranty 100,000 miles or 10 years. It's 8 years old and only has 71,000 miles. He told me the truck wasn't brought in for its 30,000 mile checkup so the warranty was voided. It had 38,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2012. How come I wasn't told about that then. As I wasn't the original owner I guess I wasn't notified. "So what about the $1500 I spent on YOUR warranty." "Sorry". I love my truck but I can see to keep it on the road it's going to really keep costing me and it sure doesn't feel like Dodge cares all that much.

I purchased a new 2015 RAM 3500 Dually with the 30,000 lb tow package for my business. The dealer convinced me to buy the factory extended warranty for $4,500. It was supposed to be a 4 year, unlimited Mile warranty. Between the time I purchased the truck and October 2016, I had already 3 warranty claims covered in the truck. Then in December of 2016, after av$900 tow bill, an authorized dealer informed me that my truck had a hole in the piston and cylinder wall #5 was scarred up so bad that the engine was junk. That it would be $23,840 to get my truck on the road.
A Chrysler inspector came out and not only denied my warranty claim, but voided the warranty saying they had already paid out a lot of money on my truck and that they would not pay out anymore. That because I used my truck for "commercial use" my claim was being denied. I bought a work truck and used it for work. I battled with them and got nowhere. Then the dealer battled with them and told me yesterday that they were 90% sure that Chrysler would pay out one last time and fix my truck. Then today, the dealer said that Chrysler would not help me at all, case closed, that they will fight me in court if I get a lawyer. The manager of the dealership said he had never seen Chrysler treat somebody like this in his 18 years there.

The only thing that has happened is I bought a Dcx tuner from a company online and it locked up the ecm and had to buy a new one because they knew I tried to install it and that obviously would not be covered under warranty.
When I get oil changes we laugh about it now. I also like the seats, dash, the way the Taylor hooks up makes sense not like the GM who does not think about the ergonomic when they build a truck. Theirs is more like a car a crapy car. Also the GM is so quiet that I almost got t-boned by a ambulance. The suspension is so loose it feels like you can flip over if you turned hard. It's just not a real truck. Now I'm not saying I don't like frills. My Ram has heated and cooled seats, front and back sunroof, all the frills the GM has and they work better. The GM people are rude, slick like an old TV car salesman. The Ram dealerships are normal regular people. Ram 5 stars, GM 0. Mad GM took the bailout your money you pay out of your check every week not tax money, your money.

I have been reading all the bad reviews for Dodge pickups. Some are really bad. I bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummings diesel engine. I have almost 200,000 miles on it and it has been almost trouble free except for a fuel pump a few years ago. I am still driving it and most of the driving was pulling a 34 ft fifth wheel across the country. I think maybe some changes must have been made for all of these comments to be bad reviews for Dodge. I would really do some research before buying another on though. Sad too about the dealers not standing behind their customers. I will check here with Consumer Affairs before I buy anything in the future.

2016 Ram 3500 Diesel - Horrible front end vibration on delivery. According to the FINDLAY RAM dealer in Post Falls Idaho where I bought it, it is normal for the front to vibrate your fillings out. Vehicle dangerously cut out pulling out onto the highway/road. Took it to the same dealership 3 times and they couldn't figure it out (I checked the transmission fluid and it was a full quart low).
The computer went completely crazy making every single gauge go crazy, and warning light flash continuously. She drove it straight back to the dealer and it wouldn't start again. They had to give her a loaner car and couldn't get their diagnostic machine to even talk to it. Out of the blue it magically works again a day or two later, but since no code was thrown they didn't fix anything.
Engine is now knocking like crazy on acceleration (taken it to the dealership 4 times) and the same dealership says it's not a problem and that if I throw a rod out of the bottom of the engine while on vacation, warranty will cover it. This is a brand new 67 thousand dollar truck... and all of this has happened in the first 5000 miles. I am now at 8000 miles and couldn't be more disappointed with the brand, the dealership, and RAM care. Now I am going to have to get a lawyer to get this resolved.

I bought the truck used from a Dodge dealership. Used it. Had 58,000 miles on it. I was shocked I got the loan so I planned on keeping the truck for a while. When it hit 102,000 miles (out of nowhere!) I lose the transfer case and the transmission (and I never abused the truck). Actually bought a new transfer case from dodge. Cost me $3,500 and cost me the same for the transmission I had rebuilt. 30,000 miles later the same thing happen to me. I lose both of them. To make a long story short I replaced 3 transmissions and 3 transfer cases.
Got the same thing from dodge about transfer case out of warranty. I swear there was a defect in the truck when it was made, I took it to good people not on backyard mechanics. No one to this day could figure out why. I would of placed a suit against dodge for all the money I spent because trucks just don't do that. The truck was never wrecked either. Last winter I put a Jasper trany and Jasper transfer case in it. Had my truck maintained all the time. Last Nov. I had to change everything because it blew out dry shafts muffler pipes. It vibrating and no one can figure it out. WELL I am extremely happy to say I got another loan and I bought me a Ford F250 Super Duty. I will never buy a Dodge Ram ever again. They would have to give it to me for me drive it.

I was driving home on December 8, 2016 when I noticed smoke coming from the passenger side under the dash. Within seconds flames came through the fabric under the dash and hit the floor. I pulled over as fast and safely as possible. I grabbed what I could and got out. I went to the passenger side and attempted to put out the flames but I failed. I called 911 and within minutes the FD arrived on scene.
I contacted Chrysler about the fire and they hired an investigator. He contacted me and I explained what I saw. 3 weeks later I got a letter in the mail saying it is not a manufacture defect. The thing that got me from the letter was "We are sure you will appreciate, fire of this nature can and do occur for a number of reasons not associated with the manufacturing process." Then tell me how does a 2015 truck catch fire inside the cab while driving at 65 mph? I'm not a smoker and the truck was all stock. I would not recommend anyone buy anything from Chrysler. The issues with Ram trucks that people are having must be just from these people on here. Regardless of the Chrysler vehicle, whether it be Dodge Journey, Caliber, SRT Charger, Challenger, Magnum, Dakotas, Stratus, (on my second Hemi Ram), I know people that own/have owned all the above-mentioned vehicles, and besides regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues whatsoever. I myself have owned 2 Rams, and again, NO mechanical issues whatsoever. The only issues I've had has actually been with cosmetic stuff added to the truck by the dealership after delivery from the factory. The side step bumpers and brackets rusted, and the powder coating was peeling off after only 2200 miles. One Rumble Bee sticker on the box had to be replaced as it was starting to bubble. I took the mud flaps off the dealer put on as they were literally flapping in the wind, rubbing the paint.
A buddy of mine, his Magnum went 215,000 miles zero problems. Heck, never even replaced the battery. My first Ram truck went 173,000 miles. Except regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues.
Broken exhaust manifold bolts was the only what I considered major issue. (Even though the repair was only $378, taxes in, Canadian dollars to boot as I'm in Canada) And the place I had the work done, they told me Chrysler AND GM trucks are prone to exhaust manifold bolts breaking. The service manager told me they do probably 1 a week from both GM and Chrysler. My nephew bought a new Ford Fusion. Sooner rather than later he traded it in, guess what, he was having electrical issues with it. And he thought, before it gets any worse, and runs out of warranty, trade it in. My girlfriend's 2012 Mazda (yes Mazda), the torque converter quit on her 2x. Leaving her literally stranded, again, yes Mazda. Japanese. I worked with a guy who had a Miata, THE biggest pile of junk he said he had ever owned. Nothing but problems with it. Guess what people, even the Japanese can make crap vehicles.

After returning from Calif to Wyoming, during a severe Ice & snow storm, my 2014 Ram 3500 4x4 26,000 mi truck was stuck on the ice in my gravel driveway. As it says in the users manual pg 196. to become unstuck use a rocking motion by shifting from reverse to drive, turning front wheels right to left. Common practice for someone who has owned 4 wheel drive vehicles all of their lives. (I just turned 65 and have driven in severe conditions most of my life.) When placing vehicle in drive, the CV U joint off the transfer case side of the front drive line broke causing the vehicle to shut down. I placed gear selector in park, turned the engine off and I had to use my own tow service to get vehicle to the Dealer. (Road side assistance was a JOKE.) Will only tow 30 miles, dealer is 50 miles away. The dealership did a digital imaging, involved the district manager who sent it to be reviewed by Chrysler digital imaging review.
A case had to be opened by Detroit Chrysler Customer Service. Chrysler has found me at fault for being stuck in the snow and ice in my driveway. Snow depth was 6 inches with 3 inches of ice underneath (Like I could have chose to divert the storm) and Chrysler will not warranty the vehicle and is calling this ABUSE. Now I have to get an attorney involved to replace the front drive line and (replace transfer case wiring) harness is $2,750.00. To replace drive line and solder 6 wires back together $1,350.00 at my expense. I have had to go to Chrysler's top management supervisor. Still waiting. There is no way that spinning your tires on ice and snow can break a drive line CV U joint. (The vehicle was running in low range at 20000 rpm when this happened)
I have owned several new 4x4 trucks, never have I broke a drive line CV U joint. They have worn out but never broke like this New Heavy Duty Ram 1 ton truck has. It also has a front end alignment problem - the (right front) wheel keeps cupping tires. This is another case I have to open with Chrysler. This is the 3rd time for repair for this.. also touch screen radio has been replaced, another problem. Cost of unit $3,000.00. They fixed without a problem but the dealer damaged dash and had to pay for a new dash replacement.
This truck has been in the shop for repair for 1 month during the 2 years I have owned it and still climbing and they give you no rental vehicle unless you buy the extended warranty another $2,000.00 -- $ 60,000.00 and 3 years bumper to bumper warranty, drive train 5 years or 100,000 thousand mile (means nothing) if Chrysler is not forced to stand behind it. This truck Is a $60,0000.00 pile of JUNK. My 04 Chevy Duramax 1 Ton has 45,000 miles on it. Never been in the shop since the day I bought it June 2004 like new to this day. Tows heavy loads and has never broke a drive line or worn out a U joint and has been stuck in snow and ice several times in the past 13 years.

I purchased a 2016 Ram 2500 6.7 diesel Crew Long Box 4x4 maybe 10 months ago. This week Monday morning I started my truck and check engine light came on so I stopped at my local dealer they plugged it in and couldn't read any codes. They informed me that the soonest they could look at the truck was 10 days away. I asked the service manager if the truck would go into limp mode. He informed me NO. I made an appointment 10 days out. Later that day I drove the truck an hour north and boom. What happens the DEF system starts a count down to 5 mph. So I drive into the nearest RAM dealership. They tell me "We have no one that can look at the truck or plug it in."
I ask the service writer what am I supposed to do brand new truck 16,000 miles on it less than a year old. I was told "if you drive west about an hour you should hit another RAM dealership. They might have someone that can look at it, if not keep driving west and you will hit another dealership they might look at it!!" I mean really that's what I was told. Now keep in mind you have a 150 mile range until the truck goes into limp mode and won't go over 5 mph. It's December in Wisconsin and it's cold so instead of driving west I decided to head closer to home and I stopped at another RAM dealership and asked them to plug it in to see what was wrong with it.
This is the 3rd Dealership I stopped at that day. They also informed me that they didn't have anyone to look at the truck and I would need to warm the truck up and try clearing the code out of it which could buy me a few days. I paid $60,000 for this truck and this is what 3 different dealers tell. Well my truck is at a service shop now not a RAM dealer because this private shop is moving heaven and earth to get it back on the road since no dealership would do anything. The kicker is all over this is under warranty but I'm paying out of my pocket because I don't have any other way of getting around without my truck.
I've called Customer Service with RAM 3 times and I keep getting the runaround with no HELP. If people like me stopped buying RAM Trucks dealerships wouldn't be in business. I guess spending $60,0000 few months ago doesn't classify me as a good customer..... Sad part is a traded my Chevy Duramax in on a new Cummins. I guess I'm the one that made the mistake. I wonder if GMC customer service would be better after spending $60,000. I keep getting told someone would call me in 24 hours still waiting.
I'm glad that a 3rd party service center is helping me because if they wouldn't be right now I can tell you some Chevy or GMC dealership would be getting a RAM as a trade in. My faith in RAM is gone and I'm out thousands of dollars for parts and missing appointments because my new truck is broke down. Thanks but no thanks.

On Oct 31 I was driving to work in my 2013 Ram 2500 Laramie, 58K truck. About 3/10 of a mile before my turn in, the transmission threw itself in 1st gear (from about 45MPH) and the truck completely stalled in the roadway. No gears, transmission would not engage, no power, no go. Had the truck towed to Moss Bros San Bernardino. Moss tells me it will be at least 1 week before they can even LOOK at my vehicle - however it was already towed to the dealer, and as stated before - it was and still is completely inoperable. The following day I receive a call from Moss Bros - stating they THINK a bearing on the input shaft "grenades" itself through the transmission, and is covered under warranty and they're going to work on getting a replacement.
Fast forward to Friday the 4th I receive a phone call from the dealer and they say they HAVE NOT torn down the transmission case nor done anything to the vehicle. Well how could they have known or hypothesised a bearing went out without even having looked at the vehicle? The following week I receive a phone call from the dealer stating that the transmission will be rebuilt and covered by FCA however, parts are on back order (specifically the valve body). My service writer told me to expect it to be in by the 22nd of November.
However, he also mentioned they have brand new transmissions (68RFE) in stock at their local warehouse. However FCA will not authorise a replacement. All while my vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for approx. 2 weeks at this point and I have not been offered a rental vehicle of any sort. So I call FCA "Parts escalation" and I am told the valve body is on back order and to expect it by the 22nd. November 22 rolls around and I receive a phone call saying that there was an issue with the vendor for the valve body and they are "delighted to inform me that the part will arrive the week of the 28th".
I explain to FCA parts escalation how this is unacceptable as my work vehicle, revenue generating work vehicle, my fleet vehicle has been out of service for 3 weeks and I cannot do my job with my personal vehicle. I was not offered any kind of rental for my truck being in service for so long either. Parts escalation then assigns me a "case manager". I'm told to expect a call from the case manager the following day. Never received phone call. The following day I receive a phone call from Felicia in Chrysler Parts escalation and she explains to me that the valve body will be delivered on 12/1/16, however that IS NOT A GUARANTEED DELIVERY DATE AND IS SUBJECT TO FURTHER DELAY. Again, 12/1/16 marks 31 days without my work vehicle.
I call my case manager repeatedly only to never receive a callback or even as much as an email. Fast forward to today, 11/28/16. I call my case manager and repeatedly leave voicemails demanding to be called back. After about 4 attempts I get ahold of someone who passes me onto a manager, who then calls my case managers, Irving, directly. Irving explains that Chrysler is not responsible to provide a rental vehicle, nor will they provide a rental vehicle, nor will they compensate for a rental vehicle, nor will they replace the transmission (when the COMPLETE transmission is in stock at the local warehouse) and I will have to wait until the valve body is delivered.
I got a complete run-around from him about how FCA is not liable for rentals, nor is the dealership, and nor will they further investigate replacing the transmission with one in the local warehouse to get me back on the road faster. So here I am still without my work truck not being able to do nearly 1/5 of my daily tasks because FCA will not do anything to expedite the repairs on my vehicle. I should also note that the vehicle is currently under the 5 year 100K mileage warranty. FCA corporate has given me nothing but a complete run-around and basically "shove it" attitude about expediting the repairs on the vehicle or issuing a replacement which would have solved the issue 100% and gotten me back on the road 3 weeks ago.

This is my third Ram, 2006, 2012 and now 2016. This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned, and the worst dealer service experience! The dealer was in too much of a hurry to put me in a truck, they failed to hear my needs and wants, from the get go with a salesperson who was actually a corporate rep, visiting the dealership this day. He did not listen to my towing needs, and everything he promised me for free (thrown in) was just added to my bill of sale, and my application was for 0% down, 0% financing - and in the end was 3.49%, which was not communicated to me at all.
So, first I did not end with a hitch receiver, towing mirrors, or brake module - I had to buy a receiver for $300 and a brake module for $500 plus $90 to program it. I was forced to buy this, as the dealer would not help me and I had to move my trailer promptly. Second the rep promised me the truck could tow my trailers and handle the capacities. The truck falls short by 3000 lbs. because the 8 speed trans. and 3:21 rear gear combo are ** - something the rep failed to even look at and confirm capacities - and assured me that this truck could handle my towing needs. NOT!
The truck: the front end is loose - rattles over tracks and bumps, shakes violently on highway (death wobble close) - tires have been balance three times, steering column shakes and rattles, transmission growls, shudders, clunks (when putting into gear or decelerating), vibrates on highway. Rear end clunks, tow haul button doesn't work, gas gauge glitches, headlight out of aim, antenna loose, leather seat clips came off, door weather strip fell off, hood is not aligned with fender, led lights fell out of back seat. When towing my 3500 lb. trailer in tow haul mode the trans. feels like it wants to explode (loud growling and vibration) at any speed. This experience may be only from my particular truck and dealer but I feel it warrants this submission!

I just bought a new 2016 RAM 1500 Limited, just shy of $60,000. The truck is really a luxurious, roomy, and very comfortable ride all-around. In fact, this is my second RAM as I traded a 2012 Dodge RAM 1500 Big Horn. Today marks one month of ownership and I have only put 225 miles on the truck since taking delivery.
Upon getting my new RAM home I started to notice several issues with both exterior and interior finishes that are result of sloppy handling of materials during manufacturing. In addition, my exhaust system was loose and the right rear tailpipe was loose enough to fall off. I notified my dealer and took it in for review of all issues noted. The dealer will be replacing a dash bezel and the leather covered console armrest to remove damaged materials. Then my dealer reviewed the bubble-like fish eye in the paint on the hood. What was so shocking he walked around the truck and pointed out numerous defects in the finish of the paint that I had not found on my own. The more he looked, the more defects he found. It reached a point where I felt really bad about my new truck and really sick about the price I paid for it! The dealer has "opened a case" on my truck which isn't entirely clear to me what that means.
I get home from my visit to my dealer and decide to call RAM customer service to relate all of this and learned something that was not disclosed to me at the point of sale. I was so excited to finally own a vehicle that would give me the ability to navigate Pandora on a big dash screen. Over the past month I have about gone crazy trying to get Pandora to load to the UConnect system only to learn from a rep at RAM customer service that there is no way to make it work as intended due to the loss of a third party technology relationship that is necessary to bring Pandora and UConnect together. What a disappointment!
I was told that a notice went out to dealers earlier this year regarding the Pandora issue. However, no one informed me, the consumer, that this luxury feature will never work through the UConnect system. This may have given me pause to move ahead with the purchase. At nearly $60,000, I should not be writing such a negative review of my new truck. All I can do is hope that RAM steps up and backs the product and goes the distance to give me some sense of customer satisfaction. That part remains to be seen.

2015 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually. I really wanted to love this truck. I was coming from a Ford 6.0 let down, really loved the truck. Had I done a hair more work I would still have the truck. First, the alignment was bad from the day I drove it off the lot. Seemed fine but the front tires were bald, thread showing, by 35K. Replaced 2 front tires and Hogan Tire shop in Purcellville, VA told me they couldn't align the truck because a ball joint was bad. Furious, I took it to the Dodge dealer and they told me joints were all fine and measuring basically new.
Oh, BTW, chose your dealer carefully. The dealer in NOVA can't align a big truck like this because his rack is too small, I was still within warranty for this. 10 hours+, not an exaggeration, of my time to determine the truck was fine and still needed an alignment. I use this heavy duty truck everyday and tow more than three times a week. 10 hours of down time kills me. I never aligned it, totally my fault. Truck was pulling like mad to the right. I have a seriously strong left arm from it. I have new tires and feel like I can ignore, 14K only a couple months in busy truck time, I realize the front right is really wearing badly. WTF, truck less than 50K and serious pull to the right and worn tires on the front, rear are still good. Take to local mech and he aligns, tightens it all.
Less than a week later I notice the steering wheel is out of alignment. Each day I drive it is a little more out. I am hauling round bales and finally lose my ** with the steering, over 90 out. I take back to my alignment dudes and they say the lock nuts have backed off. It's a lock nut? What? Well Dodge has 2 nuts that are tightened against each other, not a lock nut, and one backed off. They small shop fixed and I trust the fix since we are over 2 weeks and steering has been rockstar since.
Other things, I have had a check engine light since the mid 30K range. No ** the manual says the light will probably resolve itself in a few runs and should do that. Sure as ** that was the case. What they didn't say was that the problems were compounding. Truck was great except there were times we backed into the driveway and the exhaust was terrible, in town we had the same thing since we drive windows down a lot. Absolutely intolerable exhaust smell. We are coming from a 2005 Diesel that was pimped and the smell was appropriate.
51K, and now I have a DEF malfunction. I drive this truck everyday. Put only the DEF in it from the store and the pretty plastic containers. I only have 125 miles to drive before it ** down? I have done everything right and this is what my over 50k in American dollars gets me? Oh, and the exhaust warranty is very specific. Don't think you get 8/80K, there are terms.

My truck has had issues with shifting since the day I bought it. The salesman told me it just needs to be broken in. I have 40,000 miles and now they have to put a new transmission in and they are starting out with only replacing a solenoid. Meanwhile I have no car. I research this now and see several complaints on transmissions and engines. Not happy with this vehicle at all.

I am reviewing this truck first of all because I had a total loss due to fire on a major highway in BC Canada. I had a temperature giving erratic readings prior to at about 99000 km just before drivetrain warranty was about to expire. I took the truck down to Kelowna Dodge and explained this along with other issue I was having with the truck and had all fluids changed. Paid for a diagnostic. Problem found to be a poor sensor so they replaced it but it was not covered under drivetrain warranty. Now I'm out $500. I picked the truck up and it immediately had the same problem but no cooling issues.
I blew a flex plate at 106000 km and it grenaded stuff near the torque converter and toasted my starter. 1.5 days later and $3500 the Abbotsford Dodge dealership. They noticed the sensor problem but said I should take it to the dealership that fixed it to begin with so as to make sure all in now covered under warranty seeing it was problematic before 100000 km. This dealership was great to deal with. I got the truck back into the Kelowna Dodge dealership and they now found it to be a water pump but covered this under warranty. This lasted one day and the same issue with the erratic coolant temperature problems. I talked to other mechanics and they all said it's a head gasket and is a common problem.
On the way back from the coast through the mountains the truck overheated and my temperature sensor bottomed out at 90 and stayed there and I pulled over immediately. Checked under the hood but kept everything running to allow the fans to cool things down. I called the service department again at Kelowna Dodge and asked them for their advice and they told me to limp it in if the engine is running good. Everything cooled down but the sensor was toast so I started to limp it back but it's 200km through the mountains. No problems with the engine. On a big climb with everything sounding fine and taking my time the truck has smoke coming from underneath the hood on passenger side. As a result even with the attempt of a fire extinguisher we could not put it out and it burnt to the ground.
I called the dealership about any recourse knowing this should have been solved and was a direct result of their own misdiagnosis and they said the only recourse is insurance however the loss of my vehicle I use for work is now gone. Essentially too bad so sad. They said Ram won't cover the resultant issue of a truck loss from a cooling problem even though under warranty. This directly affects my insurance and Dodge Ram should cover this and get me a new vehicle. If you plan to use these trucks for serious hauling I would not recommend Kelowna Dodge for service nor purchasing the Ram 3500 dually truck for commercial hauling use via reliability problems.

Bought a 2014 2500 Mega Cab Laramie Longhorn for $67,000 dollars. At 3000 miles the steering tie rod locking nuts and main nut backed off and caused the steering wheel to turn 180 degrees and almost came off which would have resulted in no steering. Took to the dealer there were no parts. They were backordered, dealer offered to retighten the existing nuts. I told them I wanted both tie rods and all the nuts replaced because they had pulled threads. I crawled under the truck and marked all the parts with a magic marker.
After three weeks part of the parts came in. They replaced them but did not replace the ones I marked. They told me it was ready. I showed them the magic marks on the parts they did not replace and I told them to reorder all the parts again because they screwed the new nuts on the pulled threads. Two more weeks and got all the parts put on. They realigned the wheels. At 4000 miles it happened again. We went through the whole process again. Another two weeks. Knock on wood they got it right this time.
Now I have 49000 miles and did not buy the extended warranty ($3800). I was pulling my RV trailer down a long hill and started hearing a whine pulled over and determined it must be the fan blade. Drove it whining to a RV park and dropped my trailer. The whining would increase when the engine was revved. I sounded like the power steering whine. It was full of power steering fluid and no leaks. The next morning I started the vehicle and was warming it up. After ten minutes I went outside and the vehicle was smoking and had dumped all the power steering fluid on the pavement. The pump pressured up and blown the hoses in three pieces.
I called the mechanic at the place I work, who has a fleet of 200 dodge rams. He told me this was a known issue with Dodge. The hoses have a plastic liner in the ends that rupture and ball up in the hoses and restrict the flow of fluid causing the whining sound. When you shut off the engine overnight the plastic cools and hardens plugging of the hose. When you restart the plastic stops the flow of fluid and the pump pressures up and blows the hoses in two. I you were driving and this happens you lose power steering and power brakes creating a potential hazardous situation. It is extremely difficult to steer and practically no brakes. If you hear this whining sound shut it down immediately and don't drive.
I had my truck towed to a dealership about 10 miles under the 100,000 mile Chrysler warranty but would have had to pay the difference of anything over 10 miles (read the fine print). Ordered the parts. They were on backorder. I was told it would be approx. 3 days getting the parts. The dealership does not have loaner vehicles or rental cars. My RV was racking up $42.00 a day waiting on parts. I rented a car for $23.00 a day. Nearly $75.00 a day waiting on parts. The dealership would tell me every two days the parts would be there anytime. After 11 days I took my family home in the rental car and release it. I got a fellow RVer to tow my trailer to storage. I was given the price of parts and labor to fix the truck was $339.00.
I called Chrysler Customer Care and talked to a agent named Patrick. He called the dealership and verified my information and said Chrysler would definitely take care of the cost of fixing the truck even though it was out of warranty. He said for me to pay the bill and gave me a link to upload the receipt and they would reimburse me. He also said when I finished with the rental car they would send me another upload link and they would review whether they would reimburse or not. (All sounds great huh? NOT.) I finished with the rental car and uploaded the receipts to Chrysler. The link could be used only one time.
I called to get another link so I could upload the receipt for the repairs. I got an agent named Debbie. She said Chrysler would not take care of any of it and told me Patrick had misinformed me and wanted to know if I wanted to buy a service contract. She was a lawyer wannabe and would not move. Chrysler Customer Care needs to change their name to Chrysler WE don't CARE about our Customers Just give us more MONEY. As of this writing it has been 17 days with no parts in sight. Looks like I may have to go get my truck and tow it home and put third party parts to get it running again. If you are considering buying a Ram Truck read every one of the reviews above and prepare yourself to deal with all or most of the issues described. Remember!!! Chrysler doesn't care about its customers. Only getting your money!

2014 RAM 2500 6.7 Cummins Limited top of the line 4x4 - I bought this truck new in Florida in Sept of 2014. Little did I know. Since then, it has spent close to 40 days in the dealership on over 10 occasions for a variety of problems. Electrical, suspension and worst of all, engine issues. The DEF system has caused two breakdowns out of town (you get this wonderful warning that your engine will go into limp mode-5mph in 150 miles). Great when you're over 150 miles away from home. The DEF tanks, heater, gauges and complete exhaust including emissions have been replaced. Yeah, the FEDs have made these problems and I don't think any diesel manufacturer has avoided issues.
Anyway, I had it. After spending $70,000 on a truck that breaks down all the time, I used Floridas lemon law and Chrysler didn't even argue with me on it. In the middle of getting another vehicle, but still driving mine. While waiting for a replacement (going with gas), the tailgate got stuck closed and still is. The truck handles nice, has a great stereo and is super comfortable but enough is enough. I read some of the same issues with the RAM eco-diesel. Anyway, I know that pre-DEF diesels are great but if you are considering a new one, forget it. You will hate yourself after the warranty expires.

Took in when I returned home they reprogrammed the pcm. hence turned off the light. At the end of July 300 miles later I went to Tenn. The light came on again on my return home. 30 miles from home the traction control 4 wheel drive and anti lock brake lights came on. So I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday. Bought a 2011 Big Horn 1500 quad cab with a 5.7 v8 and 6 speed auto trans. I owned this truck for a little over 4 years, racking up 115,000 miles. The truck was in the shop only twice for something other than normal maintenance. Once for a recall inspection on the rear pinion nut, and once for an update of the U-connect radio. I use it for my everyday vehicle, as well as hauling my boat or a 24' flatbed trailer with 2 side X side off road vehicles. I live in NH, so winter road treatments usually raise hell with vehicles.
Every time I put my truck on the lift for oil changes, or other maint., I inspected front end components, paint, brake lines, etc. When I traded this truck, the front end was original and still as tight as the day I bought it. There were no engine fluid leaks, and there were no transmission fluid leaks. I did have a torn CV boot on the pass. side, but that was due to the muddy condition of the service road to my camp... no fault of the truck or design. The underside of the body still looked like the day I bought it, with no rust formed. The chassis was just showing signs of beginning to rust. It should be noted that I wash my truck REGULARLY, especially during the winter months.
In 2015 I bought a new Big Horn, with 5.7 hemi and 8 speed tranny. As I write this it has 20k miles. It has not been in for any service other than normal maintenance. I expect this truck to be as reliable as the 2011. I don't care which manufacturer you own, or have owned, there are lemons with ALL of them. For my money, I think RAM trucks are still the best value!

I manage a small ambulance service in rural Louisiana and have 3 Dodge Ram 4500s. Cummins diesel. Two of the units are 4x4. At 37000 miles we had a total failure of the front U-joint that caused a catastrophic failure and burst a huge hole in the front transfer case that caused the unit to literally come off of the road and broke the transmission housing and pulled all the wiring harness out from under the unit. Needless to say we had to be towed and thank God there was no patient on board. The vehicle had only been placed into 4-wheel drive once since it was new and that was only to test it out to see if it worked. We maintain the vehicles every 7500 miles and that includes greasing the drive train.
When we took the vehicle to our local dealer (big mistake #1) the service manager and his incompetent staff gave no less than 5 reasons why this had occurred. After each excuse was refuted they finally said that Dodge was refusing to warrant the vehicle due to maintenance neglect. They said that the front drive shaft had not been greased. There is no mention of the front U-joint grease fitting other than a small 1 inch by 1 inch sticker under the hood on the right cowl. When I asked all the other dealers in the region about the front U-joint they either didn't know that it existed or call in a maintenance free joint.
I searched and searched for the grease fitting (which doesn't exist) and finally had a good local mechanic drop the front drive shaft and we found a small pressure hole valve that can be entered with a special device to introduce grease into the joint. The dealer blamed Dodge and Dodge blamed the dealer for not honoring the warranty. Both parties lying at this point. When the local dealer finally had our unit repaired after 3 months in the shop, the total bill was 16000.00 dollars.
So the moral of the story is, if you have a 3500, 4500, or 5500 4x4 Ram you better drop your drive shaft NOW and put some grease in the port that no one knows about or you will be faced with a massive bill. It is also worth mentioning that you are supposed to do this at every oil change. The U-joint that the local dealer put in new was put in without grease, as I went straight to a competent mechanic and had the shaft dropped to find out. It took 16 zerks of grease before it filled. So basically they put a dry joint back in and we were headed back down the same road to destruction. The local dealer did absolutely nothing to help and therefore have lost years of routine maintenance work due to their sorry practices. Bad business decision. I know take all of units out of town for work. All Ram 4x4 owners better beware!!

Bought a brand new 2016 Ram Rebel off the show room floor and drove it home. Noticed a smell and looked under truck and saw fluid leaking for transmission. Dealer said it was all different parts but in the end they had to replace the trans. They had it for a week and a 1/2, said it was done so I picked it up then the shifting felt like the trans. was going to fall out. Brought it back the next day. They said they put the wrong program in and installed the correct program. Picked up that night, just to see they hit the driver side mirror and marked it. Called to let them know the next day. No one seems to care, still waiting for them to have their detail person call me, truck still smells like it's burning something and it comes into the cab. Took it back. They said the radiator fan cover fell off and they reinstalled it. They think that was the burning smell. Picked it up, drove home and still smell the burning.
Brought it back. They kept the truck over the weekend and on Monday night they said it was ready. Came back and they said they can't find no leaks but it still smells. They said it could be from the trans. oil that leaked all over the exhaust, and it could take 3 or more months for the smell to go away but they don't know where it's coming from, I made an appointment with another dealer to hopefully get this fixed. The truck stickers at $51,700 and I guess RAM trucks are suppose to run like $500 oil burning cars.
NOW for Chrysler care support they suck worse than the dealer. I have been assigned several different case managers that never call you back even though they say within 24 hrs. BS, I had my truck back before they even got a hold of the dealership. Then even though I have been taking it to the dealership they said it had been over 30 days and I would have to start a new case file so I did then I was assigned David who I had to call back because it had been over 2 days, even though their people say within 24 hrs. So David tells me he can't get a hold of the dealership that's why he was not calling me back. I told him I had made another appointment at a different dealership to maybe see if another dealership can fix it. I asked him if he could arrange a loaner car for me and he kept talking about how the other dealership hasn't called him back so I asked him if he was even listening to what I had been saying. He didn't even know what I was talking about.
I think he was playing Pokemon Go on his phone instead of listening. I asked for him to transfer me to his supervisor. He said he couldn't. I asked him for his supervisor's name and I would call them. He said he couldn't give me that information. I asked him if he knew his supervisor's name even, so I hung up and called Chrysler back and was on hold for like 25 min before someone answered then I was give elevated alert and was sent to another person who told me I was being assigned to another case person not her but that person will get back to me within 24 hrs. Again this has not happened, but that will be another story I'm sure, but the Shylo women I spoke to but couldn't take my case. Told me that they are not allowed to give supervisors' names out, that is company policy so if you have an idiot for a case manager you have no recourse to talk to someone above him to get your car fixed.
In my two months, of dealing with Chrysler I haven't had a case manager that has been competent and able to fix my car or even get a hold of any of the dealerships. None of the case managers call within the 24 hours that is promised by lower Chrysler care employee's; normally it takes around 4-5 days to get a callback or even after the truck goes into the dealer to get serviced, and they just say "so is the truck fixed now?" I believe Chrysler care is just a way to slow down the process of getting your car repaired. Think they are a way to piss you off so you either trade or sell the truck without them having to do a buy back or actually spend the money to fully fix the truck.
I have bought 4 Rams and 5 Jeep Wranglers in the last 5 years. I really like my new truck other than I have already made 6 this will be my 7th trip to the dealership in hopes to get it fixed. If things don't turn around and the truck doesn't get fixed it looks like I'll be spending my money on Ford trucks instead. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with Chrysler care, now that I am in this crappy situation trying to get my vehicle repair. I guess when they say Ram trucks are the longest lasting trucks on the road, it is because they spend most of their time in the shop rather than the road like it should.

This is my third Dodge Ram truck and it has been in service 16 times in 2 years. I have had everything from a driver's airbag warning light taking 5 trips to get fixed (and I had to live with while driving 3,000 miles across the country) to multiple DEF problems with the last one resulting in the entire replacement of certain systems. Perhaps the most troubling aspect of this truck is how many times there is a software update affecting the performance of the engine and mileage. 3 updates ago my mileage dropped 25%. The most recent "update" has restore much of this. As reported by others, the front end does not hold alignment and at 20,000 had to replace one front tire. The dealer here in Salt Lake City has both had their hands tied by Ram warranty service requirements (resulting in multiple trips) as well as having them drill through my brake line while doing another "recall" changing the bracing in my front end for which I did not receive any notice.
That is another troubling aspect of the "New Ram" company. They wait until your truck comes in to tell you "oh, we have a recall" rather than sending any notification. The last two times I took my truck in resulted in the truck being gone for 3 days the first time (I just took it in for an oil change) to 5 days the last time for the DEF warning again resulting in both multiple recall changes and having my brake line drilled. I simply do not trust the truck any longer for long distant trips and hauling. Honestly, I think much of the blame has to go to Fiat and how they allow dealers to address problems and issues. It's like dealing with a health insurance claim. I have little doubt this story is playing out all over the Chrysler network as well.

As a relatively new owner of a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 ST with 6.7L Cummins Diesel, I will say that this truck has some great power and towing capability. Overall it rides well, despite the firm suspension, and has decent mpg considering it is a workhorse. Averages around 15 mpg city and surprisingly 20-22 mpg hwy and towing my 5th wheel camper (approx. 8000 lbs) it gets around 10-15 mpg. Definitely a great truck for heavy duty work, especially considering it's a newer model with DPF/DEF. However, at only 28k the truck spit out a Service DEF System Error mid trip (75 miles out from home) with a full DEF tank and using good API Certified (Blue) DEF. Then the truck goes into a 200 mile warning mode and if you don't get it serviced within that time it goes into limp mode at 5 mph!
Fortunately I was able to get back home before limp mode, but this is absolutely absurd to cripple a perfectly running vehicle for EPA compliance. Heck throw a warning so we can get it fixed, but don't hijack the vehicle after 200 miles. Fortunately, I didn't head out of state or end up in the boonies where you're up $41t creek and limping home or paying for one huge towing bill; especially while towing a big load. Also, good thing I got an extended warranty, but we'll see what's next as it's in the shop now (hopefully they get it right and no other drama). Dodge really needs to pull their heads out of their backside on this one! They made a good truck, but screw you on reliable running.

Both bumpers are rusting. I was told it is residual rust by the service advisor. The first time and the second time it was due to road sand and was not warrantied. The truck will do random horn honk and door lock at lights or just sitting parked. It won't do it at the dealer so it is my problem.
Engine has bad chain and lifter noise after being parked for 3 to 5 days but the service advisor told me this is normal for that type of engine. After a few hours of driving it starts to get a right hub howl but it won't do it at the dealership so it is my problem until it breaks. After driving a few hours on the highways when you slow down for a light you get different cluck. But because it won't do it at the dealership it is my problem until it breaks. I have reported all this to Chrysler Canada but their answer is "well if the dealer can't find it or won't do it at the dealership then won't do anything" and the rusting bumpers is normal wear due to road conditions. I payed extra for extended warranty even tire warranty. If I hadn't pay the truck off I would have driven it back to the dealership and walked away. They tell me I can come down and trade it one.

My company got me a 2015 Ram 3500 6.7 cummins at my request. The truck started acting up with the cruise control. It would set and show it locked in on cruise. The next day it started working again. I took it to a dealer and they said if no check engine light was on there was nothing they could do. 2 days later I get a engine light and a def warning. The more warnings. I take it in and they look at the truck and say "you have a bad sending unit and it's on backorder." This is 3 weeks later. They said also "keep your def tank full and it will be ok." So I did. Yesterday it went into limp mode and left me going 5 mph in rush hr traffic. I pissed a lot of people off just trying to get off the road. I called the dealer no help, then the 800 # still no help, then I took it to Facebook on Dodge's page. Then I got some help.
But today is Friday. I'm at home with a broken service truck and making no money! They found the part I was told this morning from their supplier. And I'm on the top of the list but still no help to me. So I think I will push them a little harder and see what happens. Rotors only have a 1 year or 12K mile warranty. Rotors cannot handle daily rush hour commute. It's a truck and it can't handle daily rush hour traffic??? I don't even tow anything. Overall, I love my truck. Called customer service twice and they were clueless to assist me. 3 different dealers service department have informed me this is common due to the nickel content in the rotors. The rotors in stop and go traffic are overheating and becoming pitted which is causing the squeak when braking.

I purchased my Rubicon in March 2014, spent $61 000.00 and was incredibly excited. By November of 2014, I was already having balance issues and a ridiculous speed wobble. Took it in to two different locations in Edmonton and they told me it was fine and nothing was wrong. March 2015, I couldn't drive my jeep any longer. The wobble was so bad I couldn't hold on to the steering wheel and wasn't able to control it.
I take it back to Dodge and they told me they're surprised it hasn't fallen apart. All 4 Fox shocks had to be replaced (only highway driven and 40 000 on) away bar and track bars as well. Then they told me this was REGULAR maintenance. Are you kidding me? It was in the shop for 3 months because they kept ordering the wrong parts. When I got it back they had some reason messed with the steering and the steering wheel was on crooked... Then they told me it wasn't them who did that... They were the last knee to touch my jeep and the steering was fine prior.
Now I just took it back today as the abs and traction control lights were on. They told me my brake line was close to breaking so to be "careful" driving until they could order me one, and that my sensors were gone in my front end. $600 later for labour... I pay and drive away. I make it 1 km down the service road and am driving about 30 km an hour and my abs light starts flashing off and on and my entire jeep locks up and I stop in the middle of the road. This ends my story because I turned around and took it right back, furious!!! They don't know what's wrong with it now and I ended up leaving it there. This Jeep is going to suck all my money dry. Worst decision ever to buy this thing and I barely even drive it!

In 01/2015 due to an engine warning light, vehicle taken to dealership immediately. Thereafter, vehicle repeatedly taken for same problem. 3 months later and without a vehicle we're told manufacturer was involved to solve the problem. Few weeks later case manager indicated unable to correct mechanical problem and stated as matter of fact, the vehicle was already "old". We have vehicles older and still running good. How is it possible that the manufacturer is unable to provide technical assistance to their own dealership. Every time the dealership would call us to pick up the truck, we paid the bill and within 24 hours and on occasion, we could not even drive the vehicle out.
After going back and forth, putting a lot of personal time to it, we sent a letter explaining our frustration, the poor customer care response, asking for a refund due to their lack of resolving the problems and finally sent a letter to their office in Auburn Hills, MI. We finally got a response on 03/2016 stating "After thoroughly reviewing your request and our files on this matter, we respectfully concur with our previous decision." I am not sure which decision they are referring to. Someone within the manufacturer technical assistance failed to solve our problem. If they cannot, who else can? Our 2015 5500 truck stayed in the shop for 31 days. I asked for a little help on downtime and Chrysler fights that they even go into my fb page to copy pics and any sayings I had posted to go up against me. Ok, now, we're dealing with a shortage in the truck. And also at night LOTS of dampness and moisture gets in the truck. Our things inside even gets wet. We get sick.
If you purchase a Dodge vehicle you are stuck with all issues. We never was offered extended warranty. I realize that and Chrysler turned us down. Said it was too late cause we had 65,000 miles on it. You know why they denied extended warranty? Because they know they sold us a lemon. And must I add... They go out of no way to make anything right. We also had problems with the hogshead leaking. That put us out of work for a while also. The transfer case was not replaced the front end. They just replaced gears. Which means later, all the metal that was grinder is going to cause more problems.

2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4.5.9 Cummins, AT - I bought my 2005 in 2005 with 44,000 miles on it from a dealer In Victorville Ca. The first owner bought, sold trailers out of state and used the heck out of this towing for 11 months. It was in good shape so, I own it now. Price reflected the high miles. It has just over 108,000 on it now. I tow a 10,000 toy hauler with it, some times up high in the mountains. Not towing Hwy 18.6mpg at 65mph/16.5 at 75mph. Towing 14.5 at 65mph. Do not drive 75mph with that trailer. 1800 RPM is sweet spot for torque to fuel mileage.
The brakes and BF Goodrich tires were replaced at 44,000 mile purchase date. I just put my first tires on it at 108,000. Brakes in front are almost ready to be replaced as well as the upper and lower ball joints (Darn heavy Cummins). I have serviced the engine every 3,000 miles. Serviced cooling system and gear boxes at 90,000 miles. Automatic trans at 75,000 miles. I run Lucas fuel additive to help out with the occasional bad diesel I seem to get.
I have been very happy with this purchase. No interior or exterior problems. This truck is not as fast or powerful as the new ones, but God bless it. It will do anything I need. A friend and I bought two 2008 Dodge Ram trucks. At the time, the dealer had them sale priced by almost ten thousand dollars! How could anyone resist such a bargain! However, we should have heeded the old saying "You get what you pay for." Well, right from the start, my trucks transmission shifted hard from first to second. I took it in and the serviceman said "The transmission needs to break in." WHAT!!! I thought he was joking but he wasn't!!! So after 5000 miles, the problem continued and the dealer said there is nothing they can do about it. I traded it and bought a Ford. Consequently, absolute flawless operation with the Ford F150 for years now!!!
Secondly, my friend’s truck would burn out a transmission solenoid every time he put his truck in four wheel drive. Meaning, he could not take it out of four wheel. To date (2016) the dealer has NOT been able to repair the problem!! He also has numerous other problems since he purchased it and unfortunately, can't afford to buy a new truck. My opinion, Chrysler makes subpar products having so many flaws. They just can't keep up with offering corrected solutions or remedies to repair them (or just don't care to as a way of doing business). Rather, the dealers teach their employees how to "double talk" (lie) to confuse the customer so they (the customer) will be convinced that "pigs can fly".

Some of the repairs were performed on a recall status, however this stalling problem has not been addressed and does not show up on the computer; therefore it doesn't exists!! My truck stalled five times yesterday and had to struggle to steer it off the road to prevent a rear-end collision. My wife was with me twice and refuses to ride in this vehicle any longer.

After having towed nothing the first 2 years, I purchased a 44' RV. After the second tow, a trip to Louisiana, the engine began to bog down on me and lose power. I took it in to the dealer to get it checked out and they hit me with a $2,000 estimate for repairs. Said the EGR valve was bad ($799 for part) and needed to be replaced. They also said a front ABS wheel sensor was bad and needed to be replaced as well. Guess what, my warranty didn't cover one cent of the repairs. They said this wasn't covered in the warranty. Go Figure! Well now I have a bad taste in my mouth for having to dish out so much money. I've always wanted to own a dually and found that the Dodge was more affordable to me. Anyway, I chalked it up as a loss and moved on.
That is, until now that I have gotten a Perform Service Soon light on my dash. After consulting my owner's manual, it says I need to take it in to get emissions maintenance performed. Emissions/EGR Valve....Do you see where I'm going with this? So I call the dealer and ask for cost. For starters, it will cost me $110/hr. to just check out the problem. I've owned several Nissan vehicles and let me tell you, it never costs me a cent for them to troubleshoot any problems that I have. Also, I have never paid over $200 for any issue with them. They cover almost everything and better yet their vehicles rarely break down. At least the ones I have owned haven't, thanks to God! Put this tarp on your vehicle if the temp drops below -1C or 30 degrees F. Therefore, I paid for a $75,000.00 (tax included) that must have this cover on it in order to drive in cold weather. (I remember 40 yrs ago putting a piece of cardboard in front the radiator of my car to improve the heat, it is now 2015 and nothing seems to have changed.) Otherwise, a warning light comes on then the vehicle goes into "limp mode" (max speed 30 mph).
If this happens I was told to find a warm garage and park the truck in it until it warms up. I can see this happening on a 400 series hwy at 1 am in the morning, and having a huge tracker-trailer drive into me from behind, as I am only "limping' along trying to find an exit and warm garage. Someone will die from this defect. First I must say that I have had a lot of warranty work done to this vehicle already and that in itself is depression. The brakes however have been a problem since I purchased the truck. Since the first 100 miles I started seeing brake dust build up on my chrome rims. At 30 thousand miles I had it at the dealer for a sensor problem that was under warranty and asked them to check the brakes. I was then informed that I would need all new brake pads because there was a lot of rust on the brakes built up from not driving it as much. So the brakes were changed but the dust problem persisted. So with the price of gas going down I started using the truck more and more. (No more sitting and rusting).
Now at 58 thousand miles it was in for the recall and more warranty work and I asked them to check the brakes again. It wasn't hard to detect a problem since I had a loss of power, heavy brake dust build up and when I stopped on a slight incline and put the truck in neutral it did not roll. I was informed by the service department that the arch enemy RUST was back but this time it was because of it being exposed to the harsh climate that I live in. Now I needed all 4 wheels not only brakes but calipers, rotors, pads brackets you name it I needed it replaced, because of RUST! What the dealer was going to charge me amounted to a down payment on a new truck.
Although I could do the work myself I had a friend of mine who is a certified mechanic do the work for less than 1 quarter of the cost of the dealer. While doing the repairs he found that the rear axle seals were leaking and had contaminated my parking brake. So I contacted the dealer again and the seals are covered under warranty but, if you haven't already guessed the parking brakes are not.
Now after reading online and talking with certified mechanics this seems to be a widespread problem with Chrysler vehicles. So should this not be addressed by the National Highway Safety Administration? Perhaps these vehicles should be recalled. Brakes are a safety concern to everyone driving on the roadways, Are they Not? These vehicles are advertised as work horses and machines that are made to tow. So why can't they stop as well. Also after having aftermarket part installed and a few hundred miles later, still no brake dust, mileage has increased by almost 4mpg and it rolls freely when in neutral.

September 18, 2014 mileage: 1,182. Had a heavy rain and the back window leaked to the extent that water was standing in the back leather seat. I took the truck to Auto Nation, Spring TX. They kept the truck overnight and informed me the repairs had been made. I had concern that the seats might have been damaged by the water and requested the seat be replaced. Auto Nation said I would have to go through Ram to see if they would allow my request. I had numerous correspondence with Ram Customer Care. It appears to me Chrysler Group LLC knew or should have known they had a problem with this specific issue.
January 15, 2015 mileage 4,915. I started my full time Hot Shot Business. January 22, 2015 mileage: 7,062. Returning from a trip to Colorado the check engine light came on. I took the truck to Ram Country, Mineral Wells, TX. Ram Country flashed the PCM and informed me this may correct the issue but if the check engine light came back on it would require replacing some components.
January 29, 2015 until February 16, 2016 mileage: 8,873. While going to San Antonio, TX the truck displayed a message saying the truck would be limited to 10 mph in 150 miles and must be taken to the dealership for repairs. The truck had to be towed to Lone Star Chrysler San Antonio, TX. The dealership informed me that it would be seven to nine days before they would be able to look at the truck. The truck remained in the shop until February 16, 2015.
I do not believe this meets the implied warranty that I can expect service in a competent, effective way. I later found out this issue was a common and known issue with this vehicle, yet it was never revealed to me when I purchased the vehicle. I was provided a rental Ram 3500 to use during this time but it did not allow me to make any out of state loads and cost me several hundred dollars in trips I could not do. I also informed the dealership the brakes were squeaking loudly, I also had this dealership change the fuel filters and the oil so I would be able to get back to work with everything ready to go.
February 25, 2015 mileage 11,271–11,502. Brakes squeaking loudly again, no time to take to dealership. Too many days of work missed already. April 2015, truck started shaking at speeds above 75 mph, noticed the front tires were wearing (pocketing). I took truck and had front tires balanced (receipt lost). This did not correct the problem. Truck started pulling to the right. April 2, 2015, attempted to change engine compartment fuel filter. I was unable to get the cap off after being serviced in San Antonio, TX.
April 22, 2015, purchased new tire and had placed on spare rim. Had this tire placed on front of truck at Milstead Automotive on May 21, 2015. May 19, 2015 mileage: 30,710. In an attempt to correct shaking and correct tire wear I purchased new tire for front of truck. I called Auto Nation, Spring TX to have two new tires put on truck and front end alignment. I was told if I could get truck to dealership by 1430 they could get it in. When I arrived at the dealership they said I would have to drop it off and it would be four days before they could get to it. I do not believe this meets the implied warranty that I can expect service in a competent, effective way. I declined to leave the truck.
May 20, 2015 – May 21, 2015 mileage: 30,710. Took truck to Milstead Automotive, Spring TX had two new tires balanced, alignment on truck and new tires placed on front of truck. I used one of the tires off the front of the truck as my spare. Picked up truck May 21, 2015. This corrected problem for a little while maybe 500 miles before the truck started shaking and pulling to the right.
June 5, 2015 mileage: 35568. Took truck to DeMontrond Auto Group, Conroe TX because vibration, shaking had gotten worse. Employee road tested truck and felt vibration. This dealership is unable to make repairs on Ram 4500 because it is too large. I do not believe this meets the express warranty that all warranty work can be done by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Ram dealer. I do not believe this meets the implied warranty that I can expect service in a competent, effective way. They felt the rear outside dual on drivers side needed to be balanced, because they saw no weights on that wheel, but they could not do it. Truck returned to me with no repairs made.
June 8, 2015 mileage 35604. Took truck to Milstead Automotive, Spring TX and had outside dual on drivers side balanced, as recommended by DeMontrond Auto Group. This did not affect the vibration/ shaking at all. June 9, 2015–June 11, 2015 mileage 35,604 37,298. Had load to Nevada during trip vibration/shaking got so bad could not exceed 60 mph. June 13, 2015 mileage 37,298. Took truck to Redburn Tire Co, Kingsman AZ. Found inside dual passenger side feathering Redburn Employee said something was tearing tire apart. Put spare on in place of this tire had two other tires balanced. This did not correct the problem. I had to cancel load for Monday. Truck shaking too bad.
June 13, 2015–June 15, 2015 mileage: 37501. Took truck too Larry H. Miller Dodge Ram, Avondale AZ. They thought one of the tires were bad due to possible tire separation, but they were unable to work on it because tires too big and they sent it out to Affordable Turf and Specialty Tire, GoodYear AZ. This company said nothing was wrong with the tires but they were bad out of balance. All six tires were balanced and there was a lot of improvement but the truck still pulled to the right. Picked up truck June 15, 2015.
July 6, 2015 mileage: 40,052. Took truck to Jamails Auto & Truck Service, for front end alignment. They did alignment and truck seemed to be fine for about 1000 miles. July 10, 2015 mileage 41,634. After doing research myself found problem might be hubs are out of balance and no matter how many times the tires are balanced it will not correct the problem. Purchased Centramatic Balancers, this has helped a lot but truck still pulling to the right and front tires are wearing badly and still have vibration at certain speeds.
July 17, 2015. Tried calling several dealerships to get truck in. All the dealerships I call stated they could not work on the Ram 4500 because it is too big. Auto Nation Spring said they could work on it but first available spot would be August 3, 2015. July 22, 2015. Spoke with customer advocate Shari, she stated one other dealership in the Houston area may be able to make repairs to my truck, try Northwest Dodge. I contacted Northwest Dodge. They had appointment for July 29, 2015, I took it.
July 23, 2015 mileage 44,302, power sliding rear window stopped working. July 29, 2015, took truck to Northwest Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram dealership. I reported the following issues to the Service Advisor Michelle **: Tires wearing uneven after two front end alignments, and multiple attempts to balance tires, unable to remove cap on engine compartment fuel filter after being serviced by Lone Star Dodge, San Antonio, TX, possible seal leaking passenger side front axle and power sliding rear window not working (will open but not close). No rental vehicle provided as allowed by warranty.
July 31, 2015. Called Service Advisor Michelle ** at Northwest Dodge three times in attempt to get update on truck. I left message the first time. Declined to leave message the other two times. I was never contacted. August 1, 2015, called Northwest Dodge and ask to speak to service, the person that I spoke with said Service Advisor Michelle ** was not available but would tell her to call me with update on my truck. I was never contacted
August 3, 2015. I drove to Northwest Dodge and spoke with service manager. I was unable to get any update but was told by the service manager that he would call me with an update. I was never contacted. I had my daughter go to Northwest Dodge to get some items from the truck. My daughter was told that my truck had not even been looked at yet, but it had been assigned a technician and should be looked at in the next few days. My daughter was told the dealership was two weeks behind making repairs. I called customer advocate and left message requesting they contact me. I was never contacted. I do not believe this meets the implied warranty that I can expect service in a competent, effective way.
August 8, 2015. Called service advisor Michelle ** at Northwest Dodge two times, got voice mail both times. I left message once requesting status of truck. I was never contacted. August 10, 2015. Called service advisor Michelle ** at Northwest Dodge got voice mail, I left a message requesting update on truck. I called Customer Advocate, Janine at Rams enhanced customer satisfaction program got voice mail. I left a message requesting assistance get the status on my truck.
Michelle ** called me stating, "Seal on passenger side front was leaking and repairs would be made under warranty, reset computer for rear window issue and tire wear was due to front end needing alignment." I informed Ms. **, "this will be the third time in less than four months that the front end was aligned." Ms. ** stated she would have them check front end again for another issue with the front end. On this trip the truck stayed in the shop 34 days the only thing repaired was the seal, everything else seems just a repeat like numerous attempts before.
August 13, 2015. Drove to Northwest Dodge to get update on truck. When I arrived truck was parked at the entrance of the dealership. Customer Advisor Michelle ** was not available, another employee looked in the computer and told me it appeared my truck was ready except for some paperwork and I would be called when it was ready. I received a call from Ms.** at 1332, I was informed the passenger side front axle seal had not been replaced there was no seals available they were on back order and it would be around two weeks before they would have one available. At 1411 received a call from Customer Advocate, Janine at Rams enhanced customer satisfaction program. I was unable to answer the phone and she left a message stating she had received a call from Ms. ** at Northwest Dodge and my truck had been repaired and ready to be picked up.
I call Janine back and left a message that I had been told repairs had not been made and that repair parts would not be available for two weeks. I considered getting the truck and using it until the parts came in. I felt using a commercial vehicle with a known defect could cause me trouble if I had a DOT inspection. If the seal leak got worse it could cause bearing failure and a possible loss of steering. I requested in writing that the truck in its current condition was safe to drive and that it would not void the warrant on the truck if driven with a known defect.
August 18, 2015. Received call from Customer Care Advocate, Janine at Rams enhanced customer satisfaction program. I was told she had misunderstood Ms. ** at Northwest Dodge and my truck was awaiting parts to complete repairs. Janine mentioned that the technician thought the truck would be safe to use until the parts arrived but I was not offered anything in writing as I had requested on August 13, 2015.
August 26, 2015. Called Ms. ** at Northwest Dodge for update on truck, left message. Received call from Customer Care Advocate, Janine at Rams enhanced customer satisfaction program. I was informed the parts have been delivered to Northwest Dodge. Janine said she would call back tomorrow and let me know when I could expect truck to be ready.
August 31, 2015. Was told truck was ready for pickup. Picked up truck and paid $316.44 for repairs that were not covered under warranty. Was charged $59.95 to dismount front tires and dismount rear tires and rotate tires off the wheel, was recommended this should be done every 8000 miles. This makes no sense at all. They did not balance tires just move around on the wheels. Charged 99.95 for front end alignment this is the 3rd front end alignment in three months. Basically this dealership has performed the same actions to correct the same problems that have not worked in the past. Right front seal leaking replaced under warranty. Charged $127.74 to replace fuel filter cap that was last worked on at dealership San Antonio, TX.
November 23, 2015. Had load going to Louisiana this morning. Started the truck to let it warm up and started my pre-trip inspection. I found fluid leaking. It appears it is either coming from the power steering pump or the hose coming from the back of the power steering pump. I called Dodge dealer at Navasota, TX they said they could look at it today but it should be towed. I called Auto Nation Dodge, Spring, TX they said could bring it in today but would be Friday before they would look at it. The Auto Nation dealership said their first appointment would be middle of January. I called Dodge customer service to see if could get the vehicle towed to Navasota. They said all their computers were down and they took my information and said someone would call me back when their computers were back up and if I did not hear from them to call them back.
I have found there is only two dealerships in the Houston, TX area that can balance the tires and perform a front end alignment on the Ram 4500. The first is Auto Nation, Spring TX. I called July 17, 2015 I was able to get an appointment for August 3, 2015. This is 17 days before they will be able to look at the truck, how long they take to make the needed repairs is unknown. The second is Northwest Dodge, I called July 22, 2015 and was able to get an appointment for July 29, 2015. This is 7 days before they will be able to look at the truck, how long they will take to make the repairs is unknown.
I have discovered when you do get an appointment it is not for your vehicle to be seen, it is to get in line to be seen. Once you get your vehicle to the dealership it may be days before any work is performed on your vehicle. I called at least six dealerships in the Houston, TX area none were able to balance tires or perform a front end alignment on a Ram 4500, I feel there is no way this can be the problem. I do not know what other service that certain dealerships cannot perform on this truck. I cannot wait days at a time to have them look at my truck and still not get it repaired.
Summary. I purchased a new 2014 Ram 4500 from Chrysler Group LLC. I was assured this vehicle represents precision workmanship, distinctive styling and high quality. I believe I have shown that the Ram 4500 I purchased does not have the workmanship and high quality that Chrysler Group LLC assured me I was getting. With repairs required to be made by the Dealership it would be reasonable to assume I would be able to receive repairs at any dealership and be able to get my vehicle seen for said repairs in a timely manner. I thought since the warranty provided a rental car for a maximum of three days in most cases the repairs would be completed in three days. I have proven this is not the case. I would have never thought it would take days to weeks just to get the vehicle into a dealership, not counting days for repairs.
With three quarters of my warranty remaining and the issues I have had so far with this truck I feel it is not dependable enough to be used in my business. This truck has been to five dealerships for repairs. Two of those dealerships could not make repairs to the truck, one of those dealerships returned the truck with a known issue and no repairs made. This truck has been to three repair facilities that were not dealerships, the cost of which were paid out of pocket. So far I have spent $2,202.01 out of pocket to try and resolve issues with this vehicle. Some of this money was spent because I could not get the vehicle in a dealership in a timely manner and some was due to the fact that the dealership could not make the repairs needed and just made a guess as to the problem.

Dodge Ram 1500 Ecodiesel defective. R 51 recall from Chrysler. The charge air cooler freezes up on these trucks. Chrysler's solution is to put a tarp over your grill when the weather temperature is at a sustained 30 or lower temperature. That's not an acceptable solution to the problem. Chrysler has no solution to the problem, instead they give you a tarp to put on the grill. Good luck trying to put that on in 30 weather. Do not accept the so-called solution to this problem. Contact a lemon law attorney as they do these cases on a contingency basis. It shouldn't cost you nothing to hire an attorney. I expect the class action suit against the Chrysler idiots.

Purchased a 2007 2500 Dodge 5.9 SLT new. Have had very few problems with the truck except AC compressor which began overheating and would not cool. Had to the dealer several times before they finally replaced it. More recently in late August 2015 the Shift Cable broke. Had it towed to the dealer. After 4 or 5 days they checked and agreed it was broken. When asked when it would be repaired I was advised that the part was on back order (over 800) and would not be available until 14 November 2015. Very irritated I accepted the fact that I would not have my truck for a while. I check often for updates and recently told that it would be 9 December 2015 before part would be available.
Irritated by the delays I contacted Dodge Customer Service and lodged my complaint. The customer service rep called four days later, apologetic, and advised that the part would not be available until late January 2016 or early February 2016. Dodge has a parts supplier problem since contractors provide them to Dodge. My complaint with this is bad suppliers and bad management. If in August there were already over 800 on back order what is the problem. This is obviously not an aftermarket part or they would be available.

My 16 month old son, Odin, and my 3 year old Thor had just been buckled into their seats. I just plugged in my phone as my battery died sending a text that I would meet in a few minutes... for the catfish festival! I backed out, started driving and poof! My airbags exploded!!! I drove off the road and into my neighbor's driveway without ever hitting the breaks. Next thing I know, my face, shoulder and arm are burned from the airbags, and my kids are screaming. My neighbors all come out, one saw the whole thing, and asked what happened. I am sure I sounded like crazy lady with.."I have no idea." But, I really didn't know why one minute I was fine. And the next I had airbags and a crash. 1 week later I got the recall in the mail for the airbags. I still have not received the recall for temporary loss of vehicle control. Ram has not responded to my report of the recall, it's been a week and I have called EVERY day to see when I get to talk to someone.
I walked into local Ram dealer and asked for the local Chrysler rep-Scott ** - I can't get his number nor will they give me his email or even a mailing address for a lawsuit letter! My GEICO rep wants to part out my totaled truck without looking into the recall. I am told by 3 GEICO adjusters, they are not going to "download" the "box"... the magic box that will confirm my airbags, and if I want to persist i.e. It I can. Wow. Where is the class action? My attorney said since me and my kids weren't racking up thousands of medical bills (we were only going 15 mph) it is not worth taking on.
I am now out 10,000 to get my same truck this year. I am changing insurance, to say the least, and want to sue Chrysler... but have no address for my lawyer to send a letter to! Anyone else have this problem??? My uncle owned a Chrysler dealership for 30 years (retired for last 15) and has never heard of such negligence by Ram. He is embarrassed to have been their rep/dealer.

The Transmission should shift down and the engine brake should reduce the use of the brakes 30 to 40%. Is ram going to fix this problem.

We have 2 such pickups at this household and have exact same complaints. We paid over $1100.00 for a GPS/Uconnect system in these vehicles both of which are almost totally worthless. Both of these vehicles are equipped to tow Trailers and both are used to tow Rv Travel Trailers. This crappy GPS sends you on wild goose chases, back roads etc. It's not designed to be used in a tow vehicle at all but there it is and no one wants to step up to the plate and make even a small effort to fix the situation. The dealer says it's a product installed at the factory which is not made by Chrysler. I say Chrysler installed it. It's their responsibility to stand behind it and make it work as it's advertised to do.
I recently went to Canada and it actually showed me driving through fields where no roads exist and the Rt 1 highway I was on has been there over 7 years. Driving south through Maine on Interstate 95, my destination was KOA Campground in Freeport. It told me to exit 95 43 miles before the campground which I done towing a 30-foot trailer. It then proceeded to take me on 5 different country 2 lane roads only to cross 95 two exits below where it told me to exit.
Next issue, WiFi. A monthly fee of 34.99 is supposed to give WiFi service up to 150 feet from vehicle. Well that 150 feet is more truthfully 20 feet MAX and the service is so slow. The accessory timer built in the RAM (15 to 20) Minutes shuts power off before you can get connected to a website. This family actually likes both of these vehicles but the High Dollar accessories suck. We will not be buying another RAM Product Simply because of service from Chrysler sucks. The Dealer has tried a lot of things to help but I see it as their hands are tied from no support as Paul Harvey said, "PAGE 2."

Now in 2015 I have had 4 sets of sway bar end links installed, new ball joints, control arm parts, tie rod ends, etc. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 47,000 miles, the entire front suspension was shot at 38,000 miles. This is a 2-wheel drive, never wrecked, well-cared for California truck. Dodge claims no recalls of problem on this model or year. Dodge seems to play dumb on issues that have been present since purchase.
Now for the 2015 (wife insisted on another Dodge) this is a very expensive fully loaded 4x4. All the bells and whistles (her truck) bought on a Friday. On Sunday noticed a 3"x1" section of paint on door edge peeling. Returned to dealer and was told I had damaged the paint. Spent months working with Dodge corp. trying to get fixed. Finally after being told they would not fix because they deemed it damage not defect I ended up paying $1,100 to have repaired at an auto body shop who took pics, wrote statement that it's a defect, sent all to Dodge and was denied again. DODGE WARRANTY IS A JOKE. We will never buy a Chrysler product again.

Never gave anyone permission to work on it and never called us to say they were doing this. We go get the truck & talk with the mgr who gets upsets and throws his chair against the wall then comes toward me. I call 911. The police chose his side and said for us not to be on his property. This 2015 Ram makes the third new Ram for me. That being said the third was not the charm. My first was a 2006 Ram 2500 which was a good truck. A lot of recalls but all in all good truck traded with 50,000 miles. Second one was a 2011 3500 mega cab. Dual climate control was out when I drove it off the lot. 10 to 12 mpg which was bad. Third brake light and sun roof leaked, dash rattled 24/7 and 4wd would not work half the time. Really disappointed in that truck traded with 19,000 miles. So I bought my third truck which is the 2015 ram 2500. This truck is so weak I'd rather pull with a 1500 and the transmission slips for the first 1/8 mile in morning. Truck now has 9000 miles. So in my opinion I'm done with Ram trucks. As soon as I can trade this truck it's gone. Take this review how you like. This is just my experience with Ram trucks.

I purchased a new 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab as I needed a bigger cabin for the family. I traded in my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab (which also had this issue and I purchased new). With the truck only being only 5 months old from delivery and with it only having a few over 6,000 miles I noticed that the back seat area of the truck was soaked and water logged. After inspection I realized that the truck was leaking water into the cabin from the outside along with evidence of rusting in the area along with other metal parts inside the cabin of the truck not adjacent to that area.
I reported it to Ram customer service in Twitter as well as to the dealer. Their response was to bring the vehicle back next Monday when the "water leak guy" would be there... (This was a Wednesday.) I was also told that this was only a minor inconvenience and not a big deal as well as I was advised to turn the heater on in the vehicle and let it run under the sun. On Friday I decided I was not going to wait until Friday and I brought the truck to the dealer. The service agent essentially told me they would do a clean up, let it dry, fix the leak and get it back to me in no time! I did not accept this and I escalated to Ram customer service and was took that they would be replacing the headliner, the backseat, the carpet, underlining and all rusted parts!
I received my truck today (25 days after it was dropped off at the dealer) and the dealer told me the back window had been re-sealed as this was leaky, the third tail light had been rescaled as this was also leaky, that a new seat had been installed, a new headliner has been installed, the carpeting had been replaced and all rusted parts had been replaced. They said they inspected it and it looked good! They also delivered the truck to me filthy as it could be (outside) - spider webs and grime everywhere.
I arrived home and inspected the vehicle closer, the back seat was not replaced (although they said so and the paperwork they gave says so, there is wear and tear on the truck from the car seat latches which were there before I brought the truck in and there is still rust on the frame of the seat). There is rust in many places in the truck (caused by evaporation and condensation taking place inside the truck since the truck left the manufacturing line). So I cannot trust that anything else they have said and have formally communicated on paper is true... I have continuously asked Ram customer service to repurchase or replace the vehicle because it is compromised. I bought a defective vehicle for the second time. I have been deceived and lied to and I am still stuck in a truck which was damaged and defective at the time of purchase unbeknownst to me.

2012 Ram 3500. Had this truck 2 1/2 years. It's had the high mount stop light replaced 3x's to correct a water leak. Not confident it's fixed, only seems to last a few months. Had radio updated 3x's before replacing to fix the nav system. The major issue is that when I slow or come to a stop I get diesel exhaust fumes coming from the vents. I have complained to the dealer about 4x's about this, they can never find anything. Last trip in last week they smelled the exhaust and replaced the EGR. Picked up truck Saturday, drove it Monday and same issue. Started a case with Chrysler. They called back and asked what is my expected outcome? Really told them take the truck and give me my money back, just don't think they know how to correct the issue and it's to the point no one will ride in the truck. This is nasty, not to mention a health hazard. This is my 1st & last Chrysler product I'll ever buy.

Just bought my truck two months ago, only made three payments so far and it's the super basic model, no bells, no whistles. When we first took the test drive there was upper ticking (which still happens from time to time upon start-up) in the motor and the salesman said it hasn't been started in a while but would make sure it was fixed. Then the first time I ever switched it into 4wd it made horrible grinding noises. Took it to the beach and almost got stuck cause the 4wd wouldn't engage properly. Took it back to the dealership to have it looked at and they said it was fine, but of course, it will seem fine on flat pavement cause there is no resistance.
At that point, I found out about some recalls that were issued, so I asked for that to be looked into, but there were no parts available and one of the recalls. Chrysler didn't even know what they were going to do about it and I was advised to not drive my truck, yet all the 2015 models were pulled off the lot and weren't able to be sold for the same recall. So seeing how my truck was deemed unsafe for my family I asked for a different truck. They wouldn't do anything for me not even get me a loaner car till this issue was figured out.
The dealership offered to give me a trade in on another truck, but wouldn't give me what I paid for my truck two months ago and also the trade in would raise my monthly payments. This is complete ** in my eyes how I have had nothing but issues with this truck and all I want is a vehicle that is reliable and safe for my family and not a single person will get me a fair deal on a different truck or something. I'm paying 35k for a unsafe vehicle. I cannot wait to be done with Chrysler. This is the very first time I have ever bought a vehicle from a dealership and this whole experience has ruined dealerships for me. Thanks for nothing.

Now after they have had it the second day they say it does need 2-O2 sensors, however they don't have any. They are on back order. So they will call me when they come in.
So I pick up the truck and I ask the parts guy, how long should it take to get the parts and he checks the order. To my unbelief, he says there are over 5000 on back order. So he says about a month. I doubt if they will be in a year. What the heck is going on with Chrysler. Are they trying to go out of business. I have never heard of anything so stupid. I feel it is necessary to write you about the problems I have faced with my truck and your company. On September 12, 2014 purchased 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 from Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep (11550 LBJ FREEWAY, DALLAS, TEXAS 75238) VIN # **. On the purchase date, radio and navigation do not work correctly. I was told by the salesman to take it by my local Dodge dealer (McMullan Motors) to have it checked as it is still under warranty.
The first time I take it in, after waiting for a couple of hours, I was informed the radio technician was not there and I would have to bring it back in. I work about 300 miles from my home so I informed them I would have to set up another time to drop it off. I could not leave it and do not own another vehicle. I was also not offered a courtesy vehicle or rental car. In the meantime, I noticed several other things not working correctly so I made a list to get everything checked upon my return.
On December 15, 2014 I bring my truck in to be serviced for the following problems: navigation/compass/radio not working, headlights fogging up, vibration felt while driving down the road. Of these 3 problems, only one was fixed even though I was assured by the service department my truck was fixed and I was good to go. On December 23, 2014 I was shopping and when I returned after a rain, my truck had approximately 3" of water inside the cab. I immediately called the McMullan Motors and they explained to me someone else had called with the same problem. I was told if I took it somewhere to have it fixed, other than a Dodge dealership, that would void the warranty. I then made another appointment to drop my truck off, leave it and pick up later.
On January 5, 2015 I took truck in for leaking back glass. I am called and good to go. On February 12, 2015 check engine light comes on. I make another appointment. On February 13, 2015 I take truck in for check engine light, fuel sensor vibration. I explain to the service dept. I am still feeling the vibration and was assured they did not feel anything and I should bring it back in for another look.
On May 4, 2015 take truck back in for vibration/rotate and balance tires. This time, they rotate and balance my tires. I pick truck back up and yet again I am told that I am good to go. I call them back later that day and tell them I still feel it. I was informed I should bring it back in for another look. During the month of July, my back glass leaks again after a rain. I take it to another dealership to have it repaired. I also explained the vibration to them. I cannot leave it that day and asked to bring it back the next week. This time I leave the truck for 5 days!!!
On July 22, 2015 take truck back in for leaking back glass, vibration felt while driving. I go back to pick truck up and I was told that my vehicle warranty was up and my extended Gold Plus warranty (I paid an extra $1500.00 dollars for this) had a 100.00 dollar deductible which I was responsible for. When I explained I had already paid for this once, I should not be responsible for paying for something that was already fixed once by Dodge, the service manager told me to call the dealership and ask them about it. I asked about the vibration and the manager informed me that Ram is notorious for putting bad tires on trucks. The tires are probably the cause of the vibration and I should contact Goodyear to discuss it with them since Dodge is not responsible for tires!!!
So, I call McMullan Motors about the back glass issue. I was told by the service department and I quote, "Sir we get ** parts all the time! Sometimes we get ** parts right out of the box!!!" How sad is it that your own employee tells me this!!! Mr. Hegbloom this is my complaint: I drive to Dallas to purchase my dream truck! I get these responses from your own employees!!! Good to go. Ram has gotten so bad, Dodge separated themselves from the Ram name. Don't know why it's vibrating - couldn't feel anything- bad tires, ** parts. Not once has anyone apologized and tried to actually fix my truck. It seems that passing the buck on has become quite the norm. I know this letter is lengthy and for that, I apologize.
There are many truck companies I can choose from. I can buy any truck I so desire, some for less money. I have been a loyal Dodge customer for many years and feel that I am owed some loyalty in return. I am truly disturbed by the inept actions of your employees. I saved up my money and had the choice of any truck on the market. I hope that you can restore my faith in your company.
As of today, here is a recap of problems I am still having with my truck: engine noise vibration around 40 mph or 1100 rpm, vibration in truck suspension while driving normal speed, transmission is slipping when accelerator is pressed, transmission shifts hard in and out of gears, tires are severely worn at less than 40,000 miles, overall performance of truck is poor, radio still does not work correctly, USB port does not work.

Ended up having a broken valve spring, 2 bent pushrods, and 2 lifters had to be changed. Rather than change the engine, they said there was no internal engine damage and would fix it. With the noise it made I'm shocked there's no other internal damage. They fixed it and sent me on my way.
A month later I change the oil and it was full of metal flakes. I guess when they diagnose for internal damage they do not look at the oil. I can't understand that. I called about the issue and they said I should not be doing my own maintenance and there's no proof that there was any metal in the oil because I changed it. How else would I have found this out? They have no idea where the metal could have came from but there's enough to make golf ball sized ball. Told me I was covered by the engine warranty and they would do nothing further to the truck and still deny there's internal engine damage. So I will continue to drive it circulating metal. They didn't even want it back to flush it out.
A month later the check engine light is on so I have the code read with a reader at Auto Zone. There's something wrong with the oil pump. Instead of replacing the engine they are going to keep making me bring it back, an hour away, to keep repairing it until the warranty is over. This engine should have been replaced, not band-aided. My $46,000 truck has rebuilt engine, more internal damage that they will not acknowledge, and only has 11,000 miles on it. My mother decided "give it gas" meant "just hammer the pedal to the floor", and she redlined it for a solid ten seconds while my dad was yelling to stop. The engine was bone cold when this happened and it snapped a valve spring. I'm sure most people on here would blame Dodge for that, but that's just plain stupidity that caused it. Thankfully the valve didn't fall into the cylinder and the repair was simple. At around 90k miles the torque converter failed, but didn't take the rest of the transmission with it so that was good.
I have a friend who works for Chrysler and he told me that they had a problem with some sneaky workers throwing bits of trash in the torque converters during assembly to sabotage them, and it took quite a long time for them to figure out who was doing it. I found this pretty interesting. When I started driving it (105k miles), I changed out the shocks which made it drive wonderfully, and the ball joints were worn out, one of them started getting noisy, so I replaced all four of them. Chrysler somehow thought it was a good idea to rivet them to the control arms, which made replacing them awful. I sat in my driveway with a drill and angle grinder removing 14 rivets, and it was quite a nightmare.
The heater core started leaking, which really can happen on anything, so I replaced it and also replaced the totally cracked and fallen apart dash pad (huge problem on these 2nd gens). I decided I wanted to install a shift kit in the transmission, so I did that and saw there was quite a bit of friction material in the pan. The front band was pretty worn out, and judging by the gunk I saw in the pan, it was about time for a full rebuild of the transmission. I started preparing to do that and one school morning I shifted it into reverse, and had to give it a TON of gas to get out of the driveway. When I got home that day I had no reverse so I knew it was time (did the rebuild at 120k miles).
During the rebuild, my findings were that the clutch packs looked pretty great for the mileage, and the loss of reverse was due to the rear servo cracking. I'd imagine this was caused by the increase of line pressure by the shift kit, but rear servo failures in 46REs aren't unheard of in totally stock circumstances, so who knows. The failure of the rear servo caused the servo pin to stick open, cinching the rear band down extremely tight and shredding the friction material. This also ruined the rear drum. The front band was indeed worn out, and if it had run any longer it would have destroyed the front drum in a few thousand miles.
I completed the rebuild for about $1000, however if I had used OEM spec parts it would have cost me around $400 to bulletproof it. The parts I used are for extreme horsepower and drag racing situations, and the transmission is good for around 800hp now. It shifts extremely quick now and this truck is a total blast to drive. If you're looking at a 1994-2001 Dodge Ram, what I can tell you is that the engines are incredibly reliable and have ton of low end power, the transmissions are very well designed and easy to work on while having some easily fixable weak points, the dash pads WILL crack if they haven't already, the frame is incredibly strong, and the truck is a good solid truck that will last you for many years and many miles if you take good care of it. 5 stars!

I bought my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 in 2010. Truck had close to 60,000 miles when I bought it. Now granted yes this was a used vehicle and you have to expect to run into problems. However what would come to happen over the next five years was completely ridiculous. After having the truck for 6 months my shift solenoid went out. No big deal covered under warranty. After the repair and 2 months later I had major rear end problems. Still no big deal, warranty covered it and my rear end was rebuilt. Almost all new guts for the rear end differential were replaced. 3 days after the repair I noticed that there was too much slack in the rear-end. When taking off you could hear the rear end engaging and very hard. When shifting gears it was haunting. I took it back to Dodge and they informed me then the warranty was no longer valid and that there was no way their mechanic made a mistake. I had to have a vehicle.
So a week after my visit to Dodge as I was driving down the road the gears in the rear end finally had enough. The rear-end locked up and the gears crumbled causing the drive shaft to fall completely out and onto the road. I had to pay for a new rear end rebuild at a different shop that was not affiliated with Dodge. Since then I have had other issues. I have replaced both front hubs. I have had to have the right side manifold fixed. And most recently I replaced a CV axle. While replacing the CV axle I found the shaft within the CV axle was snapped in half. I only use for wheel drive when needed and I keep the maintenance on my truck very well. I operate the 4-wheel drive regular to keep the parts moving and make sure it's working. I am now looking at a completely new front end differential.
I am very dissatisfied with Dodge's service. I am a military member due to move this week and now I have no vehicle and a wife and two daughters. I don't expect anything to be done about this truck and its issues being that it's almost 10 years old but take my advice - do not buy a Dodge. I am not the only one that has had problems. They are complete money pits especially once your warranty runs out and Dodge does not want to take responsibility for mistakes that were made at the factory and by supposed certified Dodge mechanics thereafter.

Purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 express in September 2014. Within 4,000 miles I observed odd tire wear on rt front tire. According to definitions by Bridgestone and Goodyear the tire wear condition is known as heal/toe wear or feathering. Have noticed that about half the trucks in my area are experiencing same problem. Have had 4 alignments, road force tire balance, and no improvement!
Alignment in factory specs have 12,100 miles now, expecting maybe 3,000 more likes before I have to replace tire. Have Ram case worker assigned. No known fix to problem. Alignment does not correct problem. Dodge has now referred me to National Center for Dispute Settlement. Arbitration board will hear my case and attempt to settle in 40 days or less. If I am not satisfied I will lemon law truck through lemon law act.
This is my 11th Chrysler vehicle, and the fifth truck. Very, very disappointed with suspension issue. Dodge used to be a good truck, but frankly Fiat is in way over their head having purchased this company. At this point they will give me a new truck through arbitration or lemon law act and make me happy or I will brink a class action suit against them. I know at least five other owners who are dealing with same problem and are more than willing to join action with me. My advice to Ram truck owners, don't let dealers blow you off, be insistent with customer care, and stick to your guns, the law is on your side!!!

I bought a 2013 RAM 4 door 4x4 diesel with 15 miles on it in August of 2013. After a while my passenger door wouldn't shut right. You would have to slam it which I'm totally against. But anyways when I hit 600 miles on my way out to the R.O.W. my check engine light came on and gave me a message saying something I can't remember exactly but see dealer. So I called the dealer in Enid, OK where I had just bought the TRUCK I have always wanted to purchase, the truck of my dreams. So I turned around and went to the Dodge house and I had to get my whole truck resynchronized. No big deal. They said it's a new truck, I said ok. This is my first new truck I guess this is normal. I was convinced so then I get back on the road head to work. It yaaa, it's fixed, got that out of the way back to new. Almost month goes by at 2,000 miles check engine, see dealer, I'm freaking out.
I call the dealer. I had to get the software updated again. They said "no big deal, this happens all the time. Won't hurt anything." I said "something's wrong with this. This can't be right." So they updated it again. So I hit the road 2,500 miles, it happens again. At this point I'm fed up. I talk to ** the sales guy that sold me the truck and I told him what's going on. He said "well let's go check it out." Checks it out and he comes back says "it just needed updated and you'll be good to go". I said ok but something's not right. The sales guy said "this is what happens when you buy a new truck, you have to work out the bugs." I said "No, no. The whole truck is not right." He said "oh it's all good and if you have any more problems just stop by and we will get it fixed for you." I just walked off mad with this truck they put me in. My job moved from Enid, OK to Elk City, OK about three hrs away so I go to Doug Gray of Elk City OK.
At 35,000 miles my fuel pump goes out. Wow, wow this is crazy. I have a 96 chevy that still has its original fuel pump. Wow so they fix that well about 34,000. My truck starts down shifting hard. I mean hard. There was a knock on the floor every time I would decell so I stop back by the Dodge house in Elk City OK and they had to relearn the my tranny and they charged me to relearn my tranny. I made a big deal about it but didn't wave it, stopped the hard shift I was surprised yaaaa they took care of it for me. Well a couple of weeks go by it starts the hard down shift again so I call Doug Gray of Elk City and go by there. They relearned my tranny without charge this time. Before I moved to Houston my factory warranty was almost up so I spent $1,500 to extended everything to 109,000 miles for my protection and to save me some money in the long run - nottt. That's a joke too.
I have to pay anyway at 50,000 miles. My truck was due for an oil change. I took it in there, got everything done and the service guys come out and says "did you know your front differential is leaking. It's not bad but leaking. You have to get that fixed right now." I said "is it under warranty? If it is, fix it. If it's not, I can't afford it." But I extended my warranty, front diff seal is part of the drive train. They said "yeah but you have to pay 400$, it's not under your warranty." I said why. So I had gotten it fixed shortly after that and it's doing fine. Now I'm at 85,000 miles and I get a message SAYING PREFORM SERVICE SEE DEALER. So I had the money so I get that done for 1,800$ and I ask them "what do y'all have to do to fix that **?"
One of the service advisors at Clear Lake Dodge told me that it consist of all my filters from fuel to air to oil and that there's a filter in the def and some other exhaust filter of some sort. I said ok well and let me purchase a oil service contract. He said ok I have this good deal, 3 car wash, 3 oil changes and 3 tire rotations for 180$ so I got it and I told him not to rotate my tires because they were wore down and I was buying new ones the next day!!! So what did ** do everything I told him not to. Like he had lack of attention when he was baby (HE DID NOT TELL ME I COULD ONLY USE THAT CONTRACT THERE or his sister store). Now I'm at 88,000 miles I now moved to Houston TX at 88,000 miles. Truck has been running fine until I pulled out of a parking lot and I notice my D.E.F gauge went from half a tank to nothing and it said refill D.E.F speed limited to 5 mph in 190 miles.
I was like ok so I pull over and refill my def, hop back in the truck and start to take off and look down and my gauge is not working. I'm like whaaat? Whaaat is going on? So I start to the house and I'm worried on the way home my gauge started working until I let off the gas and my gauge stopped working again. But it reset itself back to 190 miles till limited. At least it reset itself but gauge still not working. I was going to stop in the middle of Houston and break down so I keep going. I make it home, kill my truck and started my truck again. Gauge came on then went right back off and reset itself from 100 miles to limited to 5 mph back to 190 miles to limited.
I took my truck to the shop and they want to charge me cause their pump is defaulty. And this is where I sit right now, trying to get Chrysler to fix my truck. The only reason I bought a new truck is so that way I didn't have a breakdown and keep putting money into something. I think these new trucks are a joke - nice but a joke. It's like they have a button they push when they want you to spend money and invest in their product for more sales.

Clunk first time you hit gas after start every time. Vibration in drive shaft felt in gas pedal at 2000rpms every time. Dealer acknowledged the issue with trans the first 2 times. I called Chrysler several times and they finally opened a star case and I went to a different dealer. Chrysler contacted dealer before I got there. Dealer would not let me ride along with tech. On March 22, 2015 I did my paperwork to lease a Ram 1500. I had been driving it for the last week and ended up driving about 300 miles. I have had some issues with the truck from the radio, to the wheel sensors, to hub bearings, to paint work. I dealt with it for almost a year, and saw it was truck month again. I decided to go in and trade my vehicle and see what If I could get something different. The dealer asked me when I wrecked my truck. Told them "I never wrecked my truck." CarFax is showing that on 2/3/14 the vehicle was involved in a front and rear impact accident. Very minor damages reported. So then my investigating skills got the best of me. With the dealer's help, I have received the invoice, build date, transportation drop off date, PDI report etc. I found all this stuff about my truck at the beginning of March of 2015. Contacted CarFax and they confirmed that the vehicle was in an accident in Michigan on 2/3/14.
So looking at the dealer invoice, it was invoiced on 2/10/14. Accident occurred before the dealer invoice. No dealer trade was involved. Shipped directly to the dealer. The transportation company dropped off the truck on 3/10/14. Exactly one month after the dealer invoice, and there were NO damages to the truck. I have the transportation copy of drop off and signatures on the sheet. The dealership was also able to provide me with the build sheet and it to was in a KZOB status. This was interesting because it has limited definitions on the sheet, but one stuck out was damage.
The truck then was Pdi'd at the dealership on 3/12/14 with 12 miles on it. Then I started looking at the truck and drove it for a week and leased it on 3/22/14. Chrysler customer service told me it was just a scratch on the truck and that is why there is a CarFax incident. I said that there is a scratch on the truck and now it's reported to CarFax? What? If it was a scratch wouldn't it have been fixed and sent out? Why would they report it to CarFax? Who is covering what up? Today on 5/11/15, I am getting nowhere with Chrysler/Ram/Fiat. Everyone wants to pass the buck and point fingers to the dealership. Now I am waiting to see if the district manager for Chrysler Great Lakes region can do something. I have had a discussion with him, after learning about the CarFax report, and he said.... "it happens with transportation damage."
I can understand transportation damage occurring, but you would never think that when buying/leasing a brand new vehicle that it would have already been wrecked. The value of my truck isn't as much as one with a one owner, good serviced, good CarFax vehicle. But it is ok to deceive the dealer and the public/buyer.

It was my father-in-law's card since I did not have the money at the time to pay for the repair. So Dodge agreed it was defective but uses some lame loophole that since it wasn't on MY credit card, they would not pay. I suggested they just pay the cardholder then. I bought a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 in 2010 basically because it looked decent enough and price was less than a Ford or even Chevy. I did this even though many people told me not to due to their experience with problems with owning the truck. Also was told the MPG was far lower than other similar trucks in same weight class. Needless to say I ignored this advice and went ahead and bought it. Now 40,000 miles later and 4 1/2 years I am regretting my purchase. Keep in mind too I am not even pulling a trailer and using it for around town driving. First year I noticed I was getting overall 9 MPG overall which in this day and age is a disgrace. Also the sheet metal is very thin on truck bed. They I guess saved a lot of money here but you will get dent if you lean into in with your clothes. Again no other truck that I have owned does this.
Fast forward now to 2014 and the real horror of the lack of quality comes out. In the last two months my window switches and door lock controls on driver's door broke, the gauge that measures outdoor temperature stopped working and the Cup holder broke internally somehow (no outside damage whatsoever just a poorly made device). Well I brought it to Dodge and they see you coming and are trained to hit you hard when you come in the door. Those three little things cost well over 1000 to fix!! Dodge makes parts cheaply and then profits when you come in to fix them. These parts should never break and it's criminal IMO when they do break that Dodge hits you so hard to fix them.
Also a wire became broken or loose somehow around my license plate and the light won't work. Service tech gleefully calls and says it won't pass inspection without light and says it cost 300 to fix this since access is so hard. I complain. He listens surly just thinking about nothing but his commission or his pay. I took up snow plowing this year in 2015. I have plowed for 15 years with Ford trucks never a problem. That of course all changed here with two hrs into snow plowing with this truck. It became stuck in 4 low and never came out of it till endless attempts. Also I backed into a snowbank muffler clamps and all bent and broke. Again 15 years backing into snowbanks with Ford trucks this never happened. They are reinforced, placed correctly and strong. Not the case with my Dodge - cost I think 500 to fix.
This Dodge 2500 is the worst truck have ever owned, it's built like a car and they put their heavy duty badge on it for a reason - I have no idea. I will never buy a Dodge truck again nor will anyone in my family or more. I almost did forget when I went to shop for all this serviceman of course tells my transmission fluid and power steering fluid dirty and need to be changed all for another approx 700!! All marked up through the roof, high commissions for service manager? What do you think? I inform him that manual says change transmission fluid at 60k and only if pulling trailer. I am at 42k and no trailer lol. I pass on fluids and get rimmed pretty hard for all else.
Really shifty this hole Dodge company.... Oh the line when I pulled up for service was twenty deep.. All SUV, Trucks and cars waiting to be fixed and all looked relatively new too. Big moneymaker for Dodge and Jeep, they build inferior cars and trucks of low quality and profit as us dumb folks parade in to get them fixed. Never again for me!!

While truck was in shop, the express lane manager said they would do a tire rotation. Well I marked all tires, all they did was switch the 2 front tires to either side. But as the MANUAL STATES: IN ORDER TO DO A CORRECT TIRE ROTATION IS BACK TO FRONT, FRONT TO BACK - NOT RIGHT TIRE TO LEFT & VICE VERSA.
The payload capacity of this 2WD 1500 is claimed to be 1900 lbs.+ in the bed of the truck. Now here is the kicker, I load my 2013 Yamaha Grizzly 700 in the bed & my bed squats down 5" (5 inches) - my Yamaha Grizzly only weighs 686 lbs. with fluids. Currently this $35k truck with only 12k miles & 1-year old KBB is $21k trade-in value. The design of the coil spring, rear springs is great when empty; handles nice & smooth. Add 200 lbs. & go over a speed bump carefully & you will feel the sag/plush/too soft springs bounce you 2-3 times. Add the 686 lbs. & gently go over same speed bump - bump stops, actually hit the axle.
Now I have to go & purchase HD coil springs or purchase AIRLIFT ULTIMATE 5000 AIR BAGS SO I CAN NOT ONLY HAUL my 1 quad, but also my 10 x 6.5 open trailer with my wife's sportsman 500 HO Polaris too. For a truck (not really a truck, when you cant haul anything over 200 lbs.) it's pretty quick. With the 5.7 Hemi, MPG is 20-23 MPG hwy.

Executive Summary: The American Automotive Industry as we once knew it and in some circumstances its new European/Asian owners has and continues to set higher and higher standards for not only our convenience, but always with safety in mind. And having had and witnessed some really bad automobile accidents, I for one am grateful for their due diligence.
This document speaks to the topic of safety. The DEF System warning that shuts trucks down after some pre-defined distance is dangerous to all who own or operate one. Many of us spend countless hours in our trucks and often at remote locations. This piece of programming needs to be recalled and adjusted such that it does not shut down the truck, but simply warns the operator of the need for service as quickly as is reasonable.
The Solution: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations such that they are benign but not ignored. The Benefits: Safety of all customers and consumers driving our highways. The call to action: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations. I purchased my second (new) Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn 3500 Dually 4X4 in July of 2013 from Allen Samuels Dodge on the South Loop in Houston, Texas in July 2013. Up until the circumstances I'm about to describe, I can honestly say I've been happy with the product and its performance. And, since I spend a significant amount of time in my truck with or hauling animals, reliability and safety is constantly on my mind. Getting stranded at any time is not an option although flat tires are often unavoidable on the trailers.
December 2, 2014. I am a senior consultant for a small firm where we support an engineering software application that requires occasional out of state travel. This past December the firm received a call from a client that had an emergency and needed someone on site within 48 hours to assist them for a month or more. I packed, kenneled my dog and headed for Wilmington, NC from my home in Bellville, TX within 12 hours. I chose to drive due to weather conditions at the time, not wanting to get caught in any airport delays. Again, time was of the essence and with just under 48,000 mile on the truck had no reason to believe there would be any systems issues. The oil had been changed the day prior, tire pressure was good, DEF tank was full and I had just fueled up.
December 3, 2014. I was sitting in traffic on I-10 just 20 miles outside of Baton Rouge, LA when the DEF System warning of the need for service within 200 miles needed to occur or the system would kick in a governor that would prevent the vehicle from going more that 5mph. I immediately contacted the Dodge dealership in Baton Rouge (Salsbury's Dodge, 9550 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA (225) 926-8800). They were terrific, I had them replace the fuel filters and according to their accounting, they flashed the module and I was on my way in an hour and a half. It's now after 5pm. I needed to make Mobile, AL or beyond that night.
December 4, 2014- February 24, 2015. I returned home on January 15, 2015, have had a couple of oil changes, radiator flush and new antifreeze added at a RAM dealership in Wilmington, NC, more DEF added to the tank and were now at 54000 plus miles. The late afternoon of February 24, 2015 I was heading home from Houston, TX and the DEF System warning came back on. Once again I have 200 miles to get service. Since the Tommy Vaughan Dodge Dealership is the closest to my home at this point and I had a good friend who had just purchased his RAM from them a couple of months ago, I headed in on the morning of February 25th. 100 miles before the DEF System programming will shut me down. I made the call to Tommy Vaughan and scheduled service for in the morning at 8am.
February 25, 2015, 8am through February 27, 2015 4:30pm. The initial item noted was the need to replace the air filter. This did not resolve the DEF System error message as was suggested. The folks at Tommy Vaughan Dodge worked tirelessly for the next three days troubleshooting the issue and appeasing me. None of the module errors alerted them to the real issue. It took numerous calls to Chrysler by them and me to get technical support to their personnel with little or no success.
I contacted my service manager at Allen Samuels to determine if she had experienced anything similar. She suggested it was the DEF System Pump. Additional diagnostics proved this to be true. Still no success with DEF System pressure through the injector. Turned out this needed to be replaced as well due to the failure of the pump. ONLY after much frustration (mine), the issue is resolved and I'm back on the road. Three days later. Loss of work is 30 man-hours at a consulting rate and more frustration than you can imagine.
A consumer at the mercy of failed manufacturer procedures. Total cost of repairs was just under $1300.00 (warranty on the DEF System parts had exhausted at 50,000 miles. I had just above 54000). RAM was not willing to help me out with the cost of parts and labor. The pump and injector should have been RECALLED in that nationally, there are 70 of these pumps on back order for RAM. What do the folks do that can't get parts? Lose use of their vehicle or is the DEF System temporarily by-passed, I wonder? So, why the long letter and what do I really want?
I want the DEF System module that is programmed to shut the trucks down at 200 miles to be re-programmed such that you get the warning that the system needs service, but does not put me and countless other drivers like me across America in a potentially life threatening situation as a result of Clean Air Act mandates.
I have hauled horses across the United States, served as the equine ambulance driver for horses that were on their way to colic surgery (two hours from a venue in Montana) and drive 75 miles one way to work each morning with animals and people at home relying on my safe return for their well-being. My 2013 RAM cost me $65,000.00 (it was my second in a two year period, I purchased my first $55,000.00 RAM in 2011).
That all major automobile manufacturers put every single diesel truck owner in America in harms way is unacceptable. How many wrecks are caused because a driver was suddenly shut down to 5mph, or could not get to dealer within 200 miles to address DEF System issues? Why are 70 DEF System pumps on back order? How many are on back order for the other truck manufacturers?
In my own case, the Columbus, TX service department had to go to Brenham, TX to get the replacement pump and to La Grange, TX to get the injector. And where I am grateful to their heroic efforts, what if I had been stranded in a far more remote location? With a 40 trailer and 8 horses in tow heading to an international event 3000 miles from my home? What is Dodge going to do for me then? Or FORD, GM, Chevrolet? What if the DEF System had been in place during Hurricanes Katrina or Rita or Ike? Would we have been shutdown on a crowded Freeway attempting to escape harm's way? What about the next hurricane season? Emergency vehicles? What if you're in the ambulance that's headed to a hospital some 200 miles away and the DEF System warning occurs. Do you mean to tell me the ambulance will need to be out of service until a service department can find parts?
I ask, do you have three days to wait for a situation that was completely avoidable? I'm not a bureaucrat; I'm just a working person. Like all my friends that own diesel trucks that are in the same situation I'm in. Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down.
I'm all about cleaning up the environment meant even if it's with a colorless, odorless product that can kill people and animals if accidentally ingested, and although I've not tried it, I understand it's pretty good at cleaning stains on concrete. But don't leave people stranded because of pre-determined mechanical obsolescence (in excess of 50,000 miles or is it base upon vehicle operational hours?).
Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down. Thank you for your time and consideration. This document will be sent to all the major US and European automotive manufacturers and made public via DEF forums and all forms of electronic communications effective immediately including Consumer Report. Once this recall is in place to include the reprogramming of the DEF Module, I will follow-up with a thank you letter to all.

I have owned 3 2001 Dodge Ram quad cabs. I purchased the 3 red one due to an accident in the 2nd one which totalled my truck. It saved my life. However, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the dashes cracking and Dodge's refusal to do a recall. I guess they won't because they would be recalling everyone still operable which would be extremely costly. The dash on the totalled one was completely caved in when I purchased it in 2006. I had to buy a dash mat. The 3rd truck which I still own was just starting to crack in 2010 at the time of purchase. I believe the mat has helped it last longer. It continues to crack.
I think they could offer owners a monetary settlement which might satisfy their gross manufacturing negligence and the owners having to deal with it on a daily basis. I have other issues with my current truck but believe they are from normal use and factors not necessarily related to Dodge's negligence. Overall it is a well built safe vehicle.

We purchased what was supposed to be a new 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn Cummins motor crew cab dually. Well in all reality it was not. Had problems with the truck from day 3. Has a terrible lag, vibration, no power, will not hardly pull out of the driveway with a trailer on it. Dealer said, "That's not right. Bring it over." We took it over. They all do that we were told. Then why on the phone was I told there is something wrong. Come to find out the truck had apparently been bought and brought back. It had been worked on several times and was in service in Jan. when we purchased.
In Aug. Dodge got involved and things have gone down since brake controller is out, cruise control is out, traction control is out, rear window leaks has a short in it somewhere, tires are wore completely out at 12,000 miles. ABS system works sometimes, exhaust brake works sometimes, uses oil about 1 quart per 1000 miles, fender flares falling off, running board falling apart, seat memory sometimes works, coolant light comes on, motor sounds like it's going to blow, has a miss. Radio is going out map, light going out, not the bulb either, the map light itself. There are many more things going on. Dodge agreed to put us in another one but has to be of equal or less value so buyer beware. Do not buy a Dodge. We have talked to a lot of people that just give up and trade them off.

Purchased my first Ram April 2013 because of the gas mileage. I own a business and opted for cars in the past because I drive about 45,000 miles a year. I now have 83,000 trouble free miles on it. The gas mileage is as advertised and the 3.6 six is powerful enough since I do not tow. My dealership is exceptional, Reagle Dodge in Banger. The fit and finish is excellent and up to import standards. I never had to return to the dealer for driving issues. Only problem I had was with the connect that was replaced. Reading other reviews the dealer you buy from is important.

We have a Diesel 5500 Dodge Ram with that horrible DEF system. During this recent snow storm the computer system told us we had 195 miles to service the DEF system before the truck would CUT OFF. This is the 2nd time in 40,000 miles we have had this happen. We are a snow plowing company,195 miles during a snow storm does not give us a lot of time. We brought the truck into Ross Dodge (Boone, NC) and we were told there was no one to help in service, we took it back the next day and the service people told us they would not look at the truck until the ice and salt had been removed from the bottom of the truck. They did offer to keep it in their bay overnight to melt the debris away.
Crazy thing is the truck was needed to (let's all say it together) plow snow. Why couldn't they take it over to their handy car wash and wash it off, or put on their big boy underpants and deal with the dirt? They do not keep the DEF part in stock. So now back to the dealership for a 3rd, or maybe it's the 4th, time to replace a part that we have no control over. Why is this part not stocked? It is used on so many Dodge Diesels both commercial and individual. Shame on Dodge for letting one state control their multibillion dollar company. Grow a set and stand up to California!

I bought a Dodge Ram 2500 4 by 4 Cummins diesel 2015 model at Carl Gregory of Savannah Ga. I was told they would have my side steps black wheel to wheel for my truck that Friday. They put me off 5 different dates over a 3 week period to end up telling me they couldn't even get them (cost figured in price of truck). I ending up telling them to get them from O'Reilly's auto parts or either Pep Boys and I gave them the part number to both, only to find out later that Mopar does carry the black wheel to wheel Mega Cab side steps. Now after owning it for six weeks my tire pressure sensors have gone out. It is now been the shop four times for a total of over 10 days and has yet to be repaired.
The last time Carl Gregory had my truck, they had it for 6 days and did not do anything. They had told me it needed a module but after 6 days still do not have it put in. Now I have taken it to a new dealer to see if they can fix it. It has been there one day and they have ordered a sensor to see if they can fix it when there are 4 sensors that are not working. This is my first Dodge and probably my last. I have filed a complaint with Chrysler Corporation customer service....and my back Friday.

From day 1 when I drove off the lot I called dealer and said brakes are squeaking and grinding. They said "too bad get new brakes", lol. Yep seriously brand new van. So I have taken it for a weekly oil change for 2 months and said brakes are bad and have been told no it is my imagination. So now that the warranty is out they say I need to pay them 500 for new brakes. They are worn to metal on 2 month old van. The coolant leaks. There is a hole in the floor of the van, a mid-weld, the headliner does not meet pastis and is frayed, one recall can't be fixed. No parts and don't know when they will have them. The leaf spring bushings are bad and the van squeaks going down road. So 2 issues are dangerous safety issues.
Chrysler will not fix anything. I had a 10 year old Sprinter that I should have kept. This is complete junk and Ram Chrysler has zero customer care. Do not buy one, this may put me out of business. The pic is the hole in floor. Notice you can see the ground outside
