What is the CarvanaCare extended warranty?

CarvanaCare is optional coverage you can select when you purchase a vehicle from Carvana. You can choose between three levels of coverage, and all of its plans come with free 24/7 roadside assistance.

SilverRock administers all CarvanaCare service plans. If you need to file a claim, you’ll do so through SilverRock, not Carvana. Coverage starts the day you take ownership of your car and lasts for the amount of time you select or until the odometer reaches the number specified in your service contract, whichever comes first.

CarvanaCare’s extended warranty coverage

CarvanaCare offers three different levels of coverage: Essential, Plus and Premier.

  • Essential: This plan gets you basic mechanical coverage for your engine and transmission.
  • Plus: This comprehensive plan covers your powertrain plus your steering system, heating, air conditioning, fuel system and more.
  • Premier: Premier coverage includes everything covered by Essential and Plus, as well as three oil changes and tire rotations for one year, plus minor dings and dents and tire and wheel protection.

CarvanaCare’s extended warranty exclusions

CarvanaCare’s extended warranties provide stated-component coverage. If a part or system isn’t listed on your service contract, it’s not covered.

Typically, car warranties exclude the following:

  • Damage from a lack of maintenance, abuse or neglect
  • Preexisting conditions
  • Parts still covered under the original manufacturer’s warranty

CarvanaCare’s extended warranty cost

The price of CarvanaCare depends on the make, model and mileage. Once you find a vehicle you’d like to buy, you can enter your personal details and add information about payment or financing and pickup or delivery. You can then get a quote for CarvanaCare.

CarvanaCare’s extended warranty policies

Carvana doesn’t have a sample contract available on its website. Your exact terms and conditions will depend on your coverage plan, among other factors.

You’ll have to take your vehicle to an in-network, approved facility to qualify for the $100 deductible. If you take your vehicle to an out-of-network repair facility, you must pay a $350 deductible. In addition to a higher deductible, your repair will not come with a satisfaction warranty if performed by an out-of-network facility.

You’ll need to let the mechanic know that you have a CarvanaCare service plan through SilverRock. Someone from the shop will then need to call SilverRock to get approval for the repair. Once the work is completed, SilverRock will pay the repair shop directly.

Still have questions?

Is CarvanaCare Extended Warranty worth it?

If you find a great deal on a car from Carvana and want to add additional warranty coverage at the time of purchase, a CarvanaCare extended warranty might be a good option. It includes roadside assistance and a $100 deductible when you use an in-network repair facility, so you’ll want to see if your preferred mechanic is in network. However, as with any warranty, read your contract closely so you understand exactly what is (and isn’t) covered.

Had to cancel my premium coverage. Carvana would not cover cosmetic that was not listed on condition and Silver Rock would not accept an inspection from a toyota dealership on a tacoma. You know something fishy when only accept their mechanic's diagnostics. Overall inspection was good feedback from toyota but the small things were bad from carvana/silverrock.

I come from manufacturing engineering background so know the ins and out of manufacturing, Silverrock and carvana can do much better for the prices we pay. They say they can charge more for convinience but where is the commission. It was impossible to ask questions about pre arrival tacoma and had to wait for arrival to see what they deliberately miss (had a dead bulb, how much a crappy 150 point inspection was). I'm in still within 7 days but I planned ahead for this (going to keep and repair myself, wanted to do pro so can have record on car history but big companies don't live conserving consumable). It's disappointing to to see companies thriving and still screwing over consumers. Nice guys never win in this world.

Please save your money. I purchased the extended warranty on 2021 Range Rover. It hasn't been 30 days and have a coolant leak which is covered under my truck, been in the shop for 3 weeks. The mechanic finished the job but still waiting for Silver Rock warranty to pay, just keep getting the run around, poor communication

Silver Rock. The people that cover the Carvana Care Extended Coverage. Denied multiple claims that were well within the guidelines of the agreement. Also denied claims that showed coverage since diagnostics started, but the repair didn't happen until after the mileage limitation. Do not purchase Care Extended Plan.

Do not waste your money!! They don’t cover any basic needs besides oil change/tire rotation. If you want to replace air filters, replace brake pads, any sort of fluid flush, repair any dents/dings larger than 4 inches, or replace your windshield, they will not cover. It’s useless unless your engine breaks.

Quick e mail responses. Live contacts nearly immediately available for chats. Online steps were easy to understand. Delivery personnel were professional and clear. Even when a driver situation arose, Carvana was understanding and responsive to my needs.

Selling a car to Carvana was easier than I was expecting. No issue with my experience. I had to wait for few days for a car to be picked up but the agreement was reached in about a half hour including the uploading of necessary documents.

The experience I have had with CarvanaCare is their deceptive advertising being from bumper to bumper care. Carvana claims this is an extended warranty that covers the cost of repairs from bumper to bumper and includes everything. However, read the very fine print that they unilaterally decide what this means. Trying to use this service is a nightmare and I am not the only one who thinks so. There is a Facebook Page that is dedicated to Carvanacare and its deceptive practices. All I can say is “Buyer Beware!” It is the worst of all extended warranties that you need to decline. Once you have it, Carvana will not help you with it one little bit.

It was a very easy process dealing with Carvana. There were competitors that offered a little more money for the sale of my car, but had very complicated procedures to follow through on. Very satisfied!

My wife and I purchased a 2016 Jeep Patriot from Carvana. The vehicle stated it has passed inspection, however, the brakes was making noise on the second week of driving it, the wiper blades were no good, and a loud ticking noise started when the door was unlocked. We contacted Carvana’s warranty department, they had us take it to the shop for repairs. Carvana covered the ticking noise but not the brakes. A couple more weeks later the veh needed brakes and rotors, this is un expectable for a veh that just passed inspection. 30 days in the veh started making a grinding noise, I was told the AC compressor was bad and I noticed it shakes really bad.

Took it to a shop again, it turned out it needed an alignment. I paid to fix that and another week later on today 07/03/23, the AC compressor died completely. We are only 3 payments in the deal and have to take the vehicle to be repaired 3 times. I understand wear from driving the veh, but some of these items are a part of the inspection process and shouldn’t be a problem within 1 to 3 months of purchasing a vehicle. This is our first time using Carvana, and are very disappointed and unsatisfied with their product. It was a defective vehicle from the beginning with a bogus inspection sticker and a very limited warranty. I will not recommend them or be using Carvana again. I wish they could do something about our problem veh we wasted our money on.
