What is CarvanaCare Extended Warranty?
CarvanaCare is optional coverage you can select when you purchase a vehicle from Carvana. You can choose between three levels of coverage, and all come with free roadside assistance — so if you lock yourself out of your car, run out of gas or get a flat tire, you can call one number for help.
SilverRock administers all CarvanaCare service plans. If you need to file a claim, do so through SilverRock, not Carvana. Coverage starts the day you take ownership of your car and lasts for the amount of time you select or until the odometer reaches the number specified in your service contract, whichever comes first.
CarvanaCare Extended Warranty coverage
CarvanaCare offers three different levels of coverage: Essential, Plus and Premier. The CarvanaCare brochure lists components covered by each plan in an easy-to-read format.
- Essential: This plan gets you basic mechanical coverage for your engine and transmission.
- Plus: This comprehensive plan covers your powertrain plus your steering system, heating, air conditioning, exhaust and more.
- Premier: Premier coverage includes everything covered by Essential and Plus, as well as three oil changes and tire rotations for a year, cosmetic repairs and tire or wheel damage.

CarvanaCare Extended Warranty exclusions
CarvanaCare extended warranties provide stated-component coverage; if a part or system isn’t listed on your service contract, it’s not covered.
SilverRock, the plan administrator, lists the following exclusions for CarvanaCare:
- Lack of maintenance
- Repair of parts not necessary to fix the problem
- Damage that took place before purchase
- Damage caused by lift kits, wrong-size tires, abuse or racing
- Damage caused by rust, overheating, corrosion or physical damage
- Breakdowns in a location other than Canada or the U.S.
- All parts excluded by the original manufacturer’s warranty
- Commercial use of the vehicle
CarvanaCare Extended Warranty contracts
At the time of publishing, neither Carvana nor SilverRock has sample contracts available to preview, even during the initial buying process. Your exact terms and conditions depend on your coverage plan and other personal factors.
CarvanaCare Extended Warranty claims
If your vehicle breaks down and you need to file a claim, you can take your car to the nearest approved repair facility or tow it there. If there isn’t an authorized shop in your area, you can take it to any licensed repair shop, but you’ll have to pay a larger deductible and won’t get the repair satisfaction warranty.
Let the mechanic know you have a CarvanaCare service plan through SilverRock. Someone from the shop needs to call SilverRock; once the administrator approves the repairs, work can begin. Once the work is completed, SilverRock pays the repair shop directly.
The amount of time this process takes depends on the work your vehicle needs, whether it’s included in your coverage and how busy the repair facility is.
CarvanaCare Extended Warranty FAQ
Can I pick my own mechanic with CarvanaCare Extended Warranty?
You have to take your vehicle to an in-network, approved facility to qualify for the $0 deductible and repair satisfaction guarantee. The SilverRock website lets you enter your ZIP code to find authorized repair shops nearby. However, there may not be any in-network locations near your location.
If you prefer to take your vehicle to a different licensed repair facility, you must pay a $200 deductible. In addition to a higher deductible, your repair will not come with a satisfaction warranty if performed by an out-of-network facility.
Can I cancel my CarvanaCare Extended Warranty plan?
Yes, you can cancel your CarvanaCare vehicle service contract. You’ll need to download a cancellation form from SilverRock, fill it out and either mail it or email it to SilverRock. A cancellation fee may apply.
Where is CarvanaCare Extended Warranty available?
CarvanaCare plans are available nationwide when you purchase a vehicle from Carvana.
Is CarvanaCare Extended Warranty worth it?
If you find a great deal on a car from Carvana and want to add additional warranty coverage at the time of purchase, a CarvanaCare extended warranty might be a good option. It includes roadside assistance and a $0 deductible when you use an in-network repair facility, so you’ll want to see if your preferred mechanic is in network.
As with any warranty, read your contract closely so you understand exactly what is (and isn’t) covered.

Quick e mail responses. Live contacts nearly immediately available for chats. Online steps were easy to understand. Delivery personnel were professional and clear. Even when a driver situation arose, Carvana was understanding and responsive to my needs.

Selling a car to Carvana was easier than I was expecting. No issue with my experience. I had to wait for few days for a car to be picked up but the agreement was reached in about a half hour including the uploading of necessary documents.

The experience I have had with CarvanaCare is their deceptive advertising being from bumper to bumper care. Carvana claims this is an extended warranty that covers the cost of repairs from bumper to bumper and includes everything. However, read the very fine print that they unilaterally decide what this means. Trying to use this service is a nightmare and I am not the only one who thinks so. There is a Facebook Page that is dedicated to Carvanacare and its deceptive practices. All I can say is “Buyer Beware!” It is the worst of all extended warranties that you need to decline. Once you have it, Carvana will not help you with it one little bit.

It was a very easy process dealing with Carvana. There were competitors that offered a little more money for the sale of my car, but had very complicated procedures to follow through on. Very satisfied!

My wife and I purchased a 2016 Jeep Patriot from Carvana. The vehicle stated it has passed inspection, however, the brakes was making noise on the second week of driving it, the wiper blades were no good, and a loud ticking noise started when the door was unlocked. We contacted Carvana’s warranty department, they had us take it to the shop for repairs. Carvana covered the ticking noise but not the brakes. A couple more weeks later the veh needed brakes and rotors, this is un expectable for a veh that just passed inspection. 30 days in the veh started making a grinding noise, I was told the AC compressor was bad and I noticed it shakes really bad.
Took it to a shop again, it turned out it needed an alignment. I paid to fix that and another week later on today 07/03/23, the AC compressor died completely. We are only 3 payments in the deal and have to take the vehicle to be repaired 3 times. I understand wear from driving the veh, but some of these items are a part of the inspection process and shouldn’t be a problem within 1 to 3 months of purchasing a vehicle. This is our first time using Carvana, and are very disappointed and unsatisfied with their product. It was a defective vehicle from the beginning with a bogus inspection sticker and a very limited warranty. I will not recommend them or be using Carvana again. I wish they could do something about our problem veh we wasted our money on.
