After paying and gathering and sending all my documents their underwriting decided to decline my ID because the corner is slightly chipped. Seems like the type of thing they should sort out before taking a penny from a customer. Extremely dissatisfied.

My vehicle was delivered with multiple mechanical and cosmetic defects that should have been identified during any reasonable inspection process. The condition at drop-off directly contradicted the company’s marketing claims of “quality inspected” and “road-ready.” Within days, it became clear:
• several pre-existing issues were excluded from warranty coverage
• repairs were delayed or denied
• responsibility was repeatedly shifted between the seller and warranty administrators
When a vehicle is represented as thoroughly inspected but arrives with obvious, pre-existing problems — and meaningful remedies are not provided — it begins to look less like inconvenience and more like misrepresentation, failure to disclose known defects, and a breach of implied warranty of merchantability. Consumers deserve transparency, not fine-print protections that leave them holding the bill. Do your due diligence before purchasing.

My 2011 Hyundai Tucson was delivered on October 18, 2025. The check engine light turned on 9 days later, so I just missed the 7-day return option. I had the car serviced at Meineke using the Silver Rock insurance that comes with the first 100 days. The car was inspected, serviced, and okayed to drive. On November 28, the engine caught fire while I was driving on the expressway, and the car was totaled. Carvana won't cancel my loan. This was a terrifying experience, and I will never shop with Carvana again. They knew what they were doing when they sold me a deathtrap. I could have died.

Horrible experience so far. 0 stars. Carvana has had me waiting for a new vehicle about to be a month now. First had to reschedule two deliveries for the same vehicle after waiting and changing dates for two weeks. They finally told me the DMV is having an issue with registering the vehicle due to misreported mileage. Next I move on and choose a different vehicle, 4 days later it arrives but the subframe on the right side is damaged.
Now I'm waiting for them to pick this garbage up and bring the new one and just like I thought they would do again they go ahead and send a message today to say they need to reschedule AGAIN! They always wait until the day of pick up or delivery to tell you the vehicle is not ready for whatever reason. They have an entire week to identify any issues and notify customers but they prefer to do everything last minute on the day you were expecting your vehicle.

I'm writing this as a warning to anyone considering Carvana with a trade-in that has negative equity. I purchased a vehicle from Carvana and financed through my own lender (USAA). I traded in a vehicle that was upside down, with the negative equity rolled into the transaction -- which I fully understood and accepted at the time of purchase. However, shortly after delivery, the vehicle exhibited a material mechanical defect that was not disclosed. I immediately notified Carvana and requested a return within their return window, which Carvana agreed to.
Here is where the process completely broke down: Although the vehicle was returned, Carvana had already paid off my prior lender as part of the trade-in. Carvana is now attempting to leave me responsible for approximately $8,000 in unsecured negative equity for a vehicle I no longer own -- despite the return being caused by an undisclosed defect. Front-line representatives repeatedly fell back on "as-is" language, despite Carvana advertising a return policy and limited warranty that clearly contemplate defects. Requests for a full financial unwind and executive-level review were met with resistance and circular arguments, even after escalation.
To be clear: I am not disputing that negative equity existed. I am disputing being left with unsecured debt after a transaction that was rescinded due to a vehicle not as described. Carvana's return process is marketed as simple and consumer-friendly, but that promise does not hold up when a trade-in with negative equity is involved. Customers are not adequately warned that returning a defective vehicle can still leave them with thousands of dollars of debt and no car. I am currently awaiting executive resolution. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend Carvana to anyone trading in a vehicle with an existing loan.

I purchased a 2024 Chevy Silverado from Carvana on January 11th, paying $55,000 for the truck plus an additional $2,000 shipping fee to have it transported from Illinois to California. At delivery, Carvana handed me the keys and explicitly told me they would handle all registration paperwork and that my license plates would arrive within 60 days. Nothing unusual, nothing required from me — or so I was told. Carvana also heavily advertises a 7-day satisfaction guarantee, allowing customers to return the vehicle for a full refund if there are issues.
Here’s where things went wrong. On January 20th — AFTER the 7-day return window had already closed — I received an automated call telling me I had an urgent registration issue. When I logged into my account, I was informed that I now had just THREE DAYS to personally take the truck to a weigh station and obtain a weight certificate so Carvana could complete the registration. This requirement was never disclosed at the point of sale, never disclosed at delivery, and never disclosed during the return window.
To make matters worse: The nearest weigh station is over 2 hours away in Los Angeles. I explained I do not have the time to make a full-day round trip within 3 days. In California, registration is the dealer’s responsibility, not the customer’s. I offered to bring the truck to Carvana so THEY could have an employee weigh it. Their response? They refused, saying they “don’t have enough staff.” So let me get this straight: They charge $2,000 for delivery. They fail to complete required paperwork beforehand. They wait until after the refund window closes. Then they dump the responsibility on the customer. And when challenged, they claim they’re understaffed. This is not just bad service — it’s misleading and negligent.
Had Carvana: Disclosed this requirement upfront, or Included weighing the vehicle as part of their delivery process, or Informed me within the 7-day return period, I could have made an informed decision or returned the truck. Instead, they waited until I was trapped. Carvana has ZERO meaningful service after the sale. Once the car is delivered and the return window closes, you are completely on your own — even for problems caused by their own failures. I strongly recommend thinking twice before buying from Carvana, especially if you’re purchasing an out-of-state vehicle in California. What they promise upfront and what they deliver afterward are two very different things.

On the delivery day, I received the car I purchased and immediately noticed undisclosed damage. The car had been rear-ended with extensive exterior damage and someone tried to cover it up with gloss spray paint. The next day, I took it to a very reputable mechanic shop in town who told me it looks to have been rear-ended. I then took the car to a collisions repair center which said the same thing.
But still, Carvana and SilverRock denied the claim I filed, citing "the concern you've noted is not covered for repair due to the imperfection being considered minor and within typical wear and tear." Customer service just tells me I can return or replace the car, but I will not get the $990 nonrefundable shipping fee back. I will never buy a vehicle from them again and would highly advise against it for others.

Carvana is doing me dirty! I picked a car because their website said it would be delivered next day. After they had my down payment they pushed the delivery out a week. Less that 24 hours before I was supposed to get the car I got a text saying it would be another week. I called their customer service. Both the frontline agent and a supervisor refused to do anything to help me or make up for all the money I’ve lost on a rental because of their lies. They said I could cancel and it would be ten business days before I would get my down payment back which puts me in an even worse spot. They are liars and thieves.

When I picked up my 2023 Subaru Touring, the Carvana agent skillfully led me away from looking under the chassis. Lo and behold, no attempt by Carvana to remove the brine film and deal with a rusting out exhaust system. Chassis rust includes major welds and suspension parts. Carvana replied to a claim that the problem was uncovered wear and tear. That I can exercise my 7 day return.

It was fast and simple, just like the commercial on TV. I gave them my title, they gave me a check. They drove away in my old 2012 Jeep. Best experience ever. 😊 MY Jeep had sentimental value, to me. But when I got that check, it gave me a choice to upgrade. Now I drive a Cadillac. The Carvana agent on the phone was knowledgeable and professional, and most of all kind. The agent who gave me my check and drove off in my Jeep was also professional and kind. Thanks Carvana. Sincerely Ms. E. **

Simple- we got $3,000 more at a local dealer on a sale (no purchase) on our 2020 Jeep. Low ball offers on trade or outright buy in our case. Never got a competitive number from them on any deal we attempted. On purchases, dealers can make numbers look any way they want but when it’s simply a sale, the money is the money. $3,000 less. No thanks. Sold quickly and walked out with a check from a local dealer. I’d never make a deal with Carvana.

Terrible experience with Carvana from start to finish. I rearranged my schedule for delivery and they cancelled last minute 3 separate times. Their “150 Point Safety Inspection” missed a nail in the tire, which took them 10 days to address. I was assured the tire would be replaced, only to find out after the fact it was patched. The delivery person arrived and proceeded to just keep beeping his horn rather than come to the door. Their customer service team, though nice, have zero visibility into what is going on and have zero ability to actually fix problems. Terrible experience.

Their warranty company SilverRock has the worst reputation among warranty companies. Just look them up.

Bottom Line Up Front, get your Carvana car to a trusted mechanic within the first 7 days so that you can determine if you have an unsafe vehicle. Their 150 point inspection apparently is not concerned with safety. Get claims to their authorized garages within those 7 days. Having it documented within that time frame is NOT enough.
I knew which car I wanted, I had spent a lot of time saving and researching. Finding that specific model and trim was proving difficult. I finally found a couple options at Carmax and Carvana but none on the East Coast. Carvana had a better "delivered price" so I went with it. The purchase and paperwork side of it went smoothly other than a bit of a pain digitizing the records.
Then I find out that no, Carvana does not deliver to your home unless you or in a small selected areas. New England is not in the area. Living in Vermont, the car could only make it to Boston. Fine, it was a very specific car and I was willing to drive to out of state dealerships if I had found one anyway. Slight delay but the day comes to drive my trade-in, the 250 miles, to Boston. I get to the location and meet the associate that will be finishing the paperwork.
The car is as advertised, with the one noticeable cosmetic damage (as advertised). The associate checks out my trade-in and apparently had never driven a manual. As he was checking for warning lights, started the car and lurches it into the decorative stone retaining wall bordering the parking lot. To their credit, I have not heard complaints about the damage to the front end of "their' car. After a look over of the car, under the hood, trunk, and feeling the tread of the tyres (but only the first or second grove), we finish the paperwork and I head off in my new car. As soon as I get home, 250 miles later, I make an appointment with the local dealership to check out the car. They can't see it for another two weeks. The drive home was great, 250 miles to get a feel of the car and it handled great. I was not worried about the 7day grace period offered by Carvana.
Being winter I start lining up snow tyres. As it turns out I get a set lined up for the same day I have my dealership appointment but that is 7 days after our first real snow. I drive the car for 7 days then park it for 7 days given the performance summer tyres and how much they do not like temperatures under 40F. Carpooled for a week.
I finally get the car to the dealer and they call that morning to tell me that the belts were showing on two wheels and just starting on the other two. And we were getting more snow. After leaving the car at the dealer all day, they did not have time to perform the scheduled maintenance or to perform their inspection. I still do not know what other mechanical issues I may have. I will not be buying form Carvana again and I will limit my exposure to the dealer.
SilverRock's response is that tyres are consumables and are not covered, I point out that it is a safety issue to send me 250 miles on bald tyres, if i had reached out within the 7 days there might have been something they could have done. Carvana is also saying that they are consumables and they don't care. Talking to their authorized garage, I hear that the only time they honored the warranty was when the buyer was within the 7 days and told them to fix the brakes or send their truck to come get it. Again, to Vermont. It was cheaper to fix the brakes. Do not trust that they know or care about the state of the vehicle they are selling you.

Prior maintenance was poor for this car oil and filter changes stretched to 15,000 mile intervals. Manufacturer should recommend it 7500 miles or 1 yr. But it seems BMW doesn’t care. I purchased a 2011 BMW 335i m sport rear wheel drive convertible with only 72,000 miles. Car was sold to me with all the boxes checked Pass by Carvana. Which is very debatable. The COOLANT was NEVER CHANGED which resulted in a leaking radiator when initially purchased in 100 day window. But mechanic says there were no leaks which is false. I decided to have the coolant drained and radiator Flush with NEW COOLANT by the authorized Carvana repair shop. 3 weeks later the Plastic Charge pipe coming from the intercooler to Intake exploded in 4 pcs. Replaced with a new all aluminum pipe.
1 month later after the 100 day warranty, the plastic RADIATOR on the car literally leaked like a sieve and developed 4 cracks and nearly got me stranded on a highway the vehicle would literally slow to limp home mode. I had the vehicle flat bedded to my home and was told and VERIFIED in addition to the coolant system issues All 4 tires were dry rotted and were 10 yrs old. Finally I decided to sell the car back to CARVANA which for $8,000 after only owning it for 10 months and putting 7k miles on the odometer. I feel that the Price I paid $14,905 I SHOULD have not had so many problems if the car was CAREFULLY looked over and ALL FLUIDS and FILTERS Changed along with TIRES that did not have dry rot.

I have had nothing but problems with the car that was sold to me via Carvana. First of all when it was received there were not 4 floormats in it and the guy who delivered said he would fill that out on his report. He never did and when I finally got to talk to someone via whatever they said, "Sorry. So sorry." Then I paid the car off in August and it is now January with no title. They continue to say it was released but it is not coming thru. The company says it is an address problem but DMV says that is not true. Very hard to pay so much money for a car only have so many problems.

My vehicle delivery was rescheduled twice, once without any notification at all. On the second failed delivery, I finally received a call where customer service told me this “rarely happens” — which was hard to believe given how casually it was handled.
Second excuse: they couldn’t even find a driver.
When I asked whether Carvana has any contingency plans so customers aren’t left stranded without a car, there was no real answer. Instead, I was expected to simply accept being pushed out three additional days, during which I had to remain available in delivery windows and miss work — all without having the car I already paid for.
This experience showed a complete lack of planning, accountability, and respect for customers’ time. Carvana markets itself as easy and stress-free, but in reality, you may end up stuck rearranging your life because they can’t manage basic logistics. I would strongly caution anyone against using Carvana unless you’re prepared for last-minute cancellations and unreliable service.

You can't schedule your pick up time until after you already pay, I wired $52,866, ten minutes later the scheduler told me the first appointment to pick up the car was in 10 days, not 1 day as stated. I cancelled right away, received the confirmation on Dec 26th. After further review and the purchase was already made they refused to repair the windshield. I loved the ease of ordering the car online. However, it is not worth the headache that came after. Car arrived with check engine light on. Back and forth between car shop and SilverRock to fix, needed to extend the time period to "Test" the car since it was in the shop a majority of the first 7 day trial period. On the phone 3 separate times (1hr each time) to get Carvana, SilverRock, and dealership to communicate so I did not have to pay for the repairs the car arrived with. Then come to find out the Jeep wheel lock key isn't the right one. Since I didn't check that within the first 7 days, it is on me to pay to have the locks replaced. Why wasn't that checked when Carvana bought it? Or before reselling it? Or idk, requested of me (the buyer) during the delivery process? The convenience of purchasing online does not outweigh the lack of accountability of this company. Not for a large purchase like a car.

I purchased a 2017 BMW convertible from Carvana that was supposed to be delivered tonight between 5 and 8 PM at 7:45 PM, they called me to say that the emissions and oil light were on in the car, but the car was driving fine. I spoke with Wyatt at the Manville office, who assured me that I could take the car to my own mechanic to see if it was just something that needed to be reset. However, when I took possession of the car, I was advised by Carvana that I had to use one of their repair shops or pay a $350 deductible.
They were going to waive the hundred-dollar deductible for using the in-network shop, which was Midas repair shop. Not somewhere I would bring a BMW. I spent the next three hours trying to reach a live person at Carvana. They told me that I had to contact the service company that handles their repairs and they could not help me at all because it was out of their hands. I was lied to, I was deceived. I should have not taken delivery, but I trusted them and trusted Wyatt that this would be a simple fix. Shame on Carvana. Horrible customer service. Horrible service.
I should have read reviews before doing this. The company is being sued all over the place for illegal business and not getting registrations and plates to customers in timely manner. This was our second car to buy through Carvana. The first was a good one, this was a bad one. 3 weeks after buying the car the battery died. I was willing to give them a pass on that. However, when I went to open the hood, it wouldn't open. There is something called a cowl that was blocking the hood from opening. From looking online this wasn't an uncommon issue and the factory warranty would cover that except that we were past the factory warranty. Enter Carvana warranty. Not covered due to it being a normal wear and tear item. The hood literally won't open but it's not covered under the warranty. Carvana's answer is we have to stick to the terms of our agreement. They could do the right thing but they didn't. Probably the last car I will buy from Carvana. I'm going to be 100% honest here. Carvana seemed like an alright company, at first. Prequalification was easy, and even choosing the car and getting the ball rolling was easy. However the problem lies in the fact that they were super quick to take my down payment of $2390 for a car I was looking into. I submitted my I.D., got the car insurance going, submitted bank statements, and everything was golden. Then they call me an hour and a half later after the down payment was taken from my account and say they can't finance me. That's fine, but the problem is that when I canceled the order they aren't going to give me my refund for 10-15 business days?! Why did they take my money if they hadn't even reviewed my information to see if they'd even be able to finance me? Now I'm screwed on a ride for the next 10-15 days because they can't seem to get their crap together. I'm absolutely livid with the absurdity of their business practices.

2022 Honda CRV Hybrid delivery on December 22 was canceled because, “The transportation truck driver unexpectedly called out.” After that, we had a great deal of trouble finding a time when we could both be home for a delivery (purchaser and cosigner must be present). Ultimately, we scheduled it for pickup at Latham and were charged an additional $900 at the time of rescheduling without any explanation as to what that charge was for. I could not proceed with scheduling the pickup without agreeing to the $900, however, so I figured we’d sort it out later.
When we got to Latham, the car had new plates on despite us originally requesting to transfer our plates. We eventually got the license plates sorted out, but we have not received a refund for the difference in price. Driving that day, it was immediately clear that the CRV’s hybrid features were not working (regardless of how long the car was running).
When we turned the CRV on the following day to try to figure it out, it started running through every single warning in the system. Clearly an electrical malfunction. This car should not have been for sale. We ordered a different vehicle, but couldn’t get it delivered before Jan 2 because of the Carvana schedule being full. We then needed to find a day that we could both be present. This left us having to unexpectedly have to rent a vehicle to cover the five days that we would be without one. This, coinciding with the holidays, meant that a five-day rental of a basic economy model sedan cost us yet another $879 (receipt attached)!
So we have now given Carvana a $2,500 down payment, $990 shipping for a car that doesn’t work and needs to be picked up, another $900 for something no one at the Latham Carvana could explain, the unclear amount for the new plates we didn’t want, and now we’re almost $900 in for a rental car because we were sold a vehicle that doesn’t work. That vehicle is now just sitting in my driveway until January 2nd and I’m out an obscene amount of money as I’m driving around in a wildly overpriced Hyundai.
I wanted to communicate with Carvana about this, but they offer AI bots via text, humans on the phone who cannot even begin to deal with this issue, or AI bots via chat. So, hopefully, an actual human will see this and offer to help and remedy Carvana in our minds because right now… They are about the worst of the bunch.

Less than two hours before my daughter’s scheduled delivery time, she was informed that the delivery of the car was canceled due to “weather”, despite it being 58 and sunny. We were also told the vehicle was local- coming from our town, making this explanation even more confusing. By that point, she had already taken time off work.
The delivery was then rescheduled for a week and a half later. Once again, she took time off work. On that day, was contacted and told the delivery team was on the way, but that the vehicle had originally been delayed prior because it required a repair-which means the customer service representative lied. Felt deceptive. But I am forgiving so maybe it was a miscommunication.
But then… the vehicle finally arrived and the technician (he was great and transparent btw) told her there was another major issue with vehicle-leaking fluids which they said they were late cause they were repairing it. So they canceled it on site and went back home. Needless to say it was not properly inspected before delivery or they didn’t even repair it to begin with. We were going to take it to our mechanic afterward but it already had such a big issue they took it back. Felt like that “miscommunication” was not so-much a miscommunication. It felt negligent and deceptive. We will find a used car at a dealership instead.
