We have purchased two vehicles from Carvana this year - one in February and one in April - and we could not be happier. Both cars seem to be excellent and the process of buying them was easy and flawless. We picked up one vehicle from a local Carvana location, and the other was delivered to our home - in both cases, Carvana was flawless. I also really like the ability to easily add extended warranty coverage online at purchase time, and to customize the type and duration of coverage. Carvana transformed car shopping from a nightmare into a pleasure. I wish I'd known about Carvana months ago!

My first car did not really meet my expectations. It developed a rattle in the underside of the car. It also was not detailed before pickup. My trade-in went flawlessly and everyone I dealt with was very helpful and professional. I really appreciate how polite everyone in customer service. So far, I really love my new vehicle. I had it checked by my mechanic, and he said all it needs for inspection are new rear brakes and rotors.

I placed my order. Paid the non-refundable delivery fee to a Carvana near me and the down payment on the 2013 Ford Explorer. Selected my time and date for 8.00 pm at night. I live in Jacksonville so that's a 2 and half hour trip one way. 5 hour total trip with 3 kids so I changed the time to 8 am the next morning instead. It was all approved. I did all my task then I start getting contacted apologizing for the delay that I wasn't even aware of. Then they delayed my pickup time for 2 weeks after I had just sold my other vehicle thinking I was picking up my Carvana car 2 days later not 2 weeks later. They said the delay was because a faulty back up camera but yet the camera is still not correct. The back up lines are stuck like I'm always turning. They don't line up.

While waiting and staring at the pictures of the car on the Carvana website there is a picture describing a dent in the rear fender which I don't care about. But in that picture photo number 22 out of 33 there is clearly a screw in my new 20 inch expensive SUV tire. I sent the pictures. Rep said it would be fixed also. Still not fixed which I will now have to plug. The buying process was really fast and easy. In and out. Just confused why my car was delayed 2 weeks and the issue was not fixed and how the tire was not replaced after I assured it would be taken care of. I can't find the order number on your site. The info is gone because the car is sold.

Was in the process of purchasing a car from them last week and they told me my 1099 income was just fine. That night a large amount of money came out of my account for a down payment for a car. The very next day after the down payment money was taken they called me and said my 1099 income was not okay to get a car. I told them I need my money back because this is bullshit. "Somebody had just called me and told me I was approved and you guys have taken my money." That day they took hundreds more out of my account. Here it is a week later and I'm still waiting for them to give me my money back. These lying snakes in the Grass said I was approved, stole my money and then said that I cannot be approved and still have not returned it. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE SHADY SNAKES. Very disappointed in Carvana. Car arrived and I traded in my car at the same time. I noticed some scratches on the purchased vehicle (Camry) and also the detailing of the vehicle was unacceptable. Looked like there was bbq sauce (not stains) in between seat and door. Seats were left with a dirt residue. After haggling with them to get it detailed and then the amount (they offered $100) for the whole car.. we settled on $150. The exterior was never settled. I asked for some touch up paint and they refused. The scratches were not listed online when I purchased the vehicle. Now I'm stuck.. I could have them pick up the car but have no vehicle as they will send a check for my trade in. Poor service and beware of Carvana.

We had recently lost our car in an accident. We went to several dealers and each tried to play games with us. "Oh, we just sold that car, I have something even better." This included changing prices from those found online to adding "special coatings" to raise the cost of the vehicle. With Carvana, what we saw was what we ended up paying. No sales gimmick, no sleazy salesman, just a list of cars with the actual price. Once we selected a car, it was just as easy. The site walked us through the process slowly and answered any and all questions that we thought up as we went along. Easy, HONEST, and less hassle than I ever thought possible with buying a car.

The experience being my first was exceptionally great. The only part that became a little confusing was both my husband and I bought cars thinking we were transferring our plates. When my advocate arrived with the new vehicle it had new plates on it. This could have been better communicated. Also, letting people know they need their title at delivery too. I knew this but it wasn’t talked about until my advocate called me for delivery.

I purchased a low mileage 2018 ford ecosport (44,000 miles) at the end of January. I drove the car 45 days and it completely broke down mid driving. My spouse found out the car had an engine recall after calling Carvana. We got the car to a Ford dealership who confirmed the car broke due to catastrophic engine failure. The car remained at the dealership for 2 1/2 months waiting for a long block. Got the car back for less than 5 miles and it died in the middle of the road with traffic behind me. Again got it back to the dealership. A battery, alternator and gear shutter engine had to be replaced. Hard to believe there was a 150 pt inspection done on the car.

t is April 20, 2026 and I haven't had my car more than the first 45 days after purchase. I'm so disappointed and furious all at the same time. Making payments on a car that's been in the shop after 45 days of driving it. Terrible decision to buy from Carvana. Currently working on escalating this as high as I can. This car was dangerous from the start. I would not put my spouse and children in a vehicle from this place. Less than 1 star..

Only drawback is purchasing sight unseen there were more dings and dents that were not shown in the condition of vehicle but it's a used vehicle what it is they could detail their inventory a little better. Other than that vehicle runs and drives good.

It has been a headache to get it into a an in-network repair shop far away from me, when I feel it should be covered at any shop near me that can get it fixed. Very frustrating. Also the van was semi cleaned but not a “new car” clean, smeared windshield, seats needed extra cleaning ect… Not terrible but not what you would hope.

I purchased a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB from Carvana on March 18, 2025. Within the first year, I drove the vehicle less than 11,000 miles. On March 26, 2026, the vehicle broke down. Before that happened, Carvana directed me to one of their partnered mechanics, who inspected the car and told me everything was fine. That turned out to be completely false. When the vehicle finally failed, I took it to a certified Mercedes-Benz dealership, where a full inspection revealed nearly $16,000 worth of damage. These were not minor issues — they were serious mechanical failures that clearly existed prior to my ownership and were completely missed (or ignored) by the mechanic Carvana sent me to. Despite this, when I contacted Carvana, I was told there was nothing they could do and that the situation was my responsibility.

Let me be clear: I trusted the process. I went where they told me to go. I followed their system. And because of that, they were able to avoid accountability for selling me a vehicle with major pre-existing issues. The only reason I am not completely stuck is because SilverRock (their warranty partner) stepped in and covered part of the repairs. Without that, I would have been left with a broken car and a $16,000 bill. Carvana failed in two major ways:

    1. Selling a vehicle with serious underlying issues.

    2. Sending me to an inadequate mechanic who failed to properly inspect the vehicle, allowing those issues to go undetected until it was too late.

If I could go back, I would never purchase a vehicle from Carvana. This experience has cost me time, money, and trust. Buyers need to understand — if something goes wrong, you may be on your own.

If I have one complaint, it’s regarding insurance you should be advised upfront that the insurance card can’t say replacement on it. There were multiple customers in the facility, going through the same problem. And having to call the insurance company and wait for them to produce a new insurance certificate as you’re sitting there delayed me two hours. I was doing other people up to two hours.

I was overall happy with my purchase and would write a great review of the entire process, except one area I felt lacked effort. I purchased the car with cash and asked for my spouse to be added to the registration and title. When I spoke to my original assistant, he took the details on my spouse and told me there is no problem added her. When I received the vehicle, I was the only one on the registration. I called customer service and was told it was impossible to add someone to the registration because I paid cash. After the call, someone reached out to see how my call went and I explained the circumstances and he indicated that I could indeed add someone to the registration and title. He added I needed to work with my bank to do this. I contacted my bank and they told me it was Carvana's responsibility. I imagine I will have to take care of this myself. This was the 3rd vehicle I have purchased from Carvana and will be my last. This truck was 110% misrepresented in every way. The carpet had been spray painted and was on the plastic on the console, the truck bed siding literally blew off when I was driving the truck home, there were multiple dings and scratches that were not disclosed on the listing on Carvana's website. After driving 4 hours one way (because delivery was not available) to pick up this truck, on my way home 2 lights on the dashboard came on referring to trailer brakes and one about the collision assist.

The underneath of this truck was completely caked in mud and the interior had dirt in every crack and crevasse. Every single door handle had been scratched and looks like someone had tried to fix it with paint and it has already peeled off. The only reason I am not returning this truck back to Carvana is because mechanically it runs really well. But I do feel I was taken complete advantage of as far as what I paid for this vehicle and how misrepresented it was. Now I am out $250 for getting a detailer to clean all of the mud out of the bottom of the truck and all of the dirt out of the inside.

I'm also out $150 to replace the piece of trim that blew off in the wind. I have a feeling that this truck had a flat bed or something on it because the color of the bed and the cab vary a little bit and there is a dent in the cab where whoever put the bed back on hit it and dented it. I purchased a Mercedes and a Chevy Malibu from Carvana and had really great experiences. This unfortunately was not the case, and I doubt I ever use Carvana again after this.

I purchased a 2023 Cadillac CT4 and it was delivered to me on April 8th. Upon delivery I inspected the car and noticed that all 4 tires had slashes, cuts, and gouges in the sidewalls. I pointed it out to the delivery driver and he said that he asked about it when he loaded the car for delivery. I accepted the car and reached out to Carvana right away about the damage. I took the car for diagnostic and the shop called me back within just an hour or so. They told me the claim company, SilverRock, denied the claim because the damage was only “cosmetic”. I called Carvana again and they said they would send to their “in house” warranty department for an exception and would call me back.

Hours later I hadn’t heard anything so I called them again. I was then told that the exception had been denied and Carvana would not pay for their replacement. They have a seven day return period so I told them to come pick it up. They scheduled the pickup for 4/13 and took it back. The car is listed for sale on their website again and there is still no disclaimer about the tires. They actually certified the car through Carvana and I have a picture of the listing showing there is no damage to the tires. Their checklist specifically mentions sidewall cracking and shows it passed their inspection. They are selling cars that are not safe and lying to the costumers. The best thing I can say about them is that their return and refund process is very quick and painless.

I want to start by saying the staff I spoke with at Carvana were friendly, understanding, and genuinely empathetic. Every representative acknowledged my frustration and even said they would feel the same way in my situation. Unfortunately, despite their kindness, the actual outcome has been extremely disappointing.

I purchased a 2020 BMW X1 for pickup in Richmond. My pickup date was originally scheduled for 4/14, then pushed to 4/15, then delayed again to 4/17. When I tried to adjust the time, the system cancelled my order without my authorization, increased my down payment by $500, and reassigned my pickup date to 4/21 — a full week later than originally promised.

What makes this situation even more frustrating is that the vehicle is located only about half an hour from the Richmond hub, yet I was repeatedly told it could not be transferred or made available. At the same time, Carvana’s website continued to show the exact same vehicle as available for same‑day delivery with a lower down payment than what I was being charged. I have screenshots documenting these contradictions.

Even after escalation, including to the Executive Resolution Team, I was told there was nothing they could do — no exception pickup, no same‑day transfer, and no clear explanation for why a car so close to the hub couldn’t be moved. The lack of transparency and the conflicting information made the situation even more frustrating.

The staff were polite and tried to help, but the system itself is inconsistent, confusing, and ultimately unreliable. Between the delays, the cancellation, the changing financial terms, and the contradictory information on the website, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. I expected more transparency and accountability from a company that advertises convenience and simplicity.

I regret purchasing a vehicle from this dealership and would not recommend them. The very next day after driving off the lot, the AC stopped working, which is extremely disappointing and unacceptable for a vehicle I had just purchased. What made the situation worse was the lack of transparency during the buying process. I was initially quoted a certain down payment, but when it came time to finalize the deal, the amount was significantly higher than what I was told. There was little to no clear explanation, and I felt pressured to move forward anyway.

After the issue with the AC, I reached out expecting some level of accountability or assistance, but the customer service I received was disappointing and unhelpful. Lastly, they replaced the tires and installed them improperly.. cracking the wheel. I was guaranteed by the advocate that these things were documented and would be taken care of. He was so sweet, I believed him and accepted the car. Right away, I began submitting the claims -- as soon as the advocate drove away, I never heard from him again. I was stuck in the throws of carvana's criminal policies.

Refusing to make things right, refusing to pay. You can only submit 3 claims total, so I maxed out right from the start-- giving them a loophole to deny the most expensive parts of the claims and never be held liable. I'm a mom, who is now completely without a vehicle, out thousands of dollars and no part of carvana will uphold a dignified response and solution. It's horrible and criminal. RUN AWAY FROM THEM.

My experience with Carvana exposed a level of negligence and disorganization that no customer should ever have to deal with. After reviewing thousands of complaints on multiple platforms, including the BBB, it’s clear that what happened to me is part of a much larger pattern of systemic failure inside this company. Carvana processed a transaction that should have never been approved, and when I tried to resolve the issue, I was met with generic responses, no real investigation, and no accountability. Every interaction felt like a script, not a company trying to fix a serious problem.

The only reason I recovered my money was because I escalated the issue outside of Carvana. If I had relied on them alone, I would have lost everything. And this happened in South Florida, where consumer protection agencies actually respond. I can only imagine what customers in other states go through when they face the same problems without support. Carvana’s customer service structure is broken, their internal communication is inconsistent, and their dispute-handling process is unreliable. The massive number of complaints across the country proves this is not an isolated issue. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience and pushes Carvana to take real responsibility for the harm they are causing to so many people.

However, they are also very good at leaving out major defects that are not easily found at delivery, in their 360 view and issues section prior to sale. Make sure to remember that your 7 day window starts on the day of your delivery and ends at 8 pm 7 days from that....So if you get delivered on 4/4 at 7 pm....you lose an entire day of that so called window. Not sure how that makes sense. Check all electronics, check all windows and doors, check chips in windows, check every square inch, because that price you pay is not accounting for any of it.

I had a terrible experience with Carvana and would strongly caution anyone thinking about buying from them. I purchased a 2018 Chevy Suburban on March 16, and the very next day (March 17), the car shut off while I was driving—with my kids in the car. It was a terrifying and dangerous situation. The vehicle had to be towed on March 18 to a Carvana-approved mechanic. From there, things only got worse. Their warranty company, SilverRock, initially refused to approve repairs. Then they changed their mind but only wanted to use non-OEM (cheap, aftermarket) parts instead of proper parts made for the vehicle. Carvana’s only response to all of this was extending the 7-day return window to 14 days. No real accountability, no compensation for the inconvenience, and no concern for the safety risk my family experienced.

After getting the car back, I took it to my own mechanic, who found even more issues—including bad motor mounts and about $2,500 worth of additional repairs needed just to make the car safe. SilverRock approved the claim at first, then reversed their decision, removed items from the repair list, and again pushed for cheaper parts. At that point, I had enough and returned the vehicle. This was an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience. A car shutting off with children inside is completely unacceptable, and the lack of proper support afterward made it even worse. Between the unsafe condition of the vehicle and the way everything was handled, I would not trust Carvana again. Proceed with extreme caution and definitely get any vehicle inspected immediately if you decide to take the risk.

Carvana is not what it used to be, a trustworthy online used-car dealer, where you pay a premium price for “certified” pre-owned cars. As a long-time Carvana fan, I must say I'm very disappointed with my recent experience with them. It felt to me like I’m paying a premium price for nothing. Aside from a large online selection, Carvana is becoming more and more like just a shady used-car dealer in town.

First of all, the car I picked up was listed with Free Shipping, but it turned up I had to pay a delivery fee (~$400), which was not listed in the price and fees. Sounds like a hidden fee? Oh ya, so sure. So I had to pick up the car myself to avoid the extra fee, even though it’s listed as FreeShipping, which was very misleading and a cheap marketing scheme gone wrong.

Secondly, the inspection team did a really bad job on the GR 86 I was supposed to pick up. The car had a few more damages and imperfections, including paint chips, visible repairs, and major damage on the body, which were not listed on the imperfection listing. The deal breaker for me was that there was a badly damaged driver's side skirt with a large crack of about 6 inches long. They didn't even bother to repair it before the delivery. The worst part is, after all that, Carvana still wanna charge me the “Shipping” fee for the car they couldn’t deliver.

They "allowed" me to have the oil change for my piece of mind. On that Thursday, the exclamation point was still showing. I had a feeling something was off, so I had it inspected by a different shop. The car was inspected and I was pulled into the bay so they could show me how the oil pan had been patched together by glue. It was leaking badly so much that they recommended I not drive it because it was low. Plus, the suspension needed fixing and brake pads were "passable" however, they would need replacing soon. At that point, I asked the shop to put together everything they found wrong and file a claim with the insurance (per Carvana's instructions).

Long story short, they were "considering" the repairs while their "7 day guarantee" was almost up so I told them come get the car. Either way they either did not do the 150 point inspection and just put it on the lot as is or they did the inspection "band-aided" the car and sold it as a lemon to some unsuspecting person. By the way, the day after I turned the car back in, it was on their website again (I checked the VIN#).

Not to mention that during the purchase process we were told we only needed to have the cleared letter from the previous car and that would be good enough until the day of delivery they decided we actually needed to go get the title delaying the process. For the convenience, I chose to use Carvana even though it meant overpaying for a car - they even charged me $290 to deliver the car 18 miles or 20 minutes to my office! I paid cash so I have no review on their approval process but do have details about the car I received. Carvana lists imperfections so the buyer can see them before being shocked. The listed imperfections do not begin to describe the damage to my new car. The windhsield is chipped, the headlights are hazed over, numerous scratches to the bodywork, the paint has smears, the interior (glass included) is smeared as if it was cleaned with a wet dirty rag, most of the buttons inside like On/Off button, radio controls, steering wheel controls are are worn off, under the hood is filthy...all the detailers did was coat the tires!

The driver's rear tire valve stem is actively leaking air, the change engine oil lamp and replace battery in key fob lights are both on and at highway speeds the car shakes hard enough to rattle the fillings out of your teeth! So I have an appointment tomorrow at a local shop for an oil change, tire repair and diagnosis of violent shake <$400 if I don't need tires or front suspension work. So now I endure time off work, time out of my day on a Thursday just to pay to repair the car I just overpaid for!

I've never used Carvana before, thought I would give it a try and hoped for the best. Initial delivery pickup was good however the car could have been cleaner, didn't look that clean on the outside, had some grease that was hard to get off the paint. But the experience went downhill from there. Car sunroof stopped working and the remote start was not on the keyfob but CLEARLY stated on the website that it had a remote start. So initiated the process to get these items fixed during my 7 day review of the car. Not a problem but a little frustrating at first.

Went to the first Carvana approved "SilverRock" facility, which did not work on Alfa Romeos, as I had pointed out to the Carvana advocate I talked to the day before. But they said I had to follow the process and ended up wasting a couple hours and 25 miles of driving. Then we worked through a waiver to get the car to a dealer the next day... 50 miles away to get fixed, meanwhile Carvana was evaluating the keyfob screwup and ended up telling me that the car was priced as it was and basically all they could do is give me $100 for my troubles???? Has anyone priced a keyfob lately? Of course that doesn't touch the cost of a keyfob, especially for an Alfa Romeo.

All of these back-and-forth discussions, driving car to get repaired, etc.. cost me time off work and stress for something that should have been a fun experience. Bottom line, Carvana said they could not cover the cost of a keyfob replacement AND recognized they should have removed the "Remote Start System" from the option of the car on the website. But they were still not going to fix it.. that's crazy poor customer services..makes no sense. So I'm sending the car back, still have to pick it up from the dealer.. another 100 miles round trip for my wife and I.

I paid a "non-refundable" $1,800 shipping fee for this car, I will obviously argue that back and have been told by several of the Carvana Advocates that I should get it back but with the way their process works.. not so sure. Still not sure how much money this little exercise cost me. BE AWARE. You might be ok if everything works.. but you're screwed if they miss something on their "150 point" inspection or incorrectly characterize the vehicle on the website. Rest assured they will not correct their mistakes, even when they acknowledge them. It's ashamed too, I really liked the vehicle, but I can't tolerate poor customer service or poor integrity.

January 25 2026 I ordered a car from Carvana, a Toyota Camry and paid cash ($21,000) plus $2,000 for delivery. The car arrived and looked perfect (but smelled strong chemicals). I took it to my Toyota service and paid for an inspection. Underneath the car there was unidentified leaking fluids and extreme rust throughout. I have photos of this. Also, many smaller points in the inspection was rated "poor". The next day--within 24 hours of delivery - the engine light went on--I requested a return with my money back.

Within a few days, Carvana picked up the car. I received a refund after a couple of weeks except for $2,000 for delivery not refunded. This is what is disturbing--about a month ago I went on Carvana site to see if the car was for sale again--there it was--same car and same VIN for the same price. Then today I received an e-mail from Carvana with the same car, same VIN, offering it to me to buy (again?). How can they keep selling lemon cars over and over to unsuspecting buyers? Is this not unscrupulous business practice? Is that how Carvana makes their money through $2,000 "transportation" charges? Please, please buyers stay away unless you want to kiss your money and future transportation goodbye.

I was fully approved for a loan based on the income I listed on last year's taxes, where I had income from disability and gig work. However, during the purchase/verification process, Carvana only accepted my disability award letter as income. They do not "allow" the types of work that people on disability would tend to have, like gig work, to be used for verification. Even though my tax form from social security showed more income than was required to match what I put on the application, Carvana did not accept that either. They ended up trying to change my down payment from $500 to $12,000. I had to cancel the order.

I received a message saying that the vehicle had to go to a repair shop when the date of delivery happened. Then I had to wait another week for the vehicle to be shipped. That day came, and I received a call. The vehicle was no longer for sale as it would take too much work to fix. Mind you, that's two weeks of playing around.

I found another vehicle. As promised, it showed up on the date of the scheduled delivery. Unfortunately, all the tires were bald and rotted out. If that's your idea of a safety check, it's piss poor. Now the vehicle has to be scheduled for all tires to be replaced. This is going to take another week. My experience was terrible. I would never do it again. They also expect you to be a computer genius. So if you are inexperienced with a computer, much less uploading documents, forget it. The process took forever, and I had to rely on Google to learn how to accomplish their requirements. There was no assistance for uploading or operating anything. Everything has to be done electronically. No fax or regular mail. What a poor experience. Beware.

Terrible. Obvious engine problems, did not even drive the car. I drove over 2 hours to the Carvana vending machine, when I arrived I noticed the car was just parked out front. So when I went in I asked the workers about it because the only reason that I made that drive was to do the vending machine. The workers told me the “hydraulics were broken” as I watched them take down 3 other cars. I asked them to take a look at the car before signing anything. They didn’t offer it and seemed irritated I was asking. So with an attitude they went and pulled the car up by the doors. THANK GOD I had the sense to look at it first. The second I walked out those doors I could hear the extremely loud knocking sound coming from the engine (this happens when an engine is blown). I’m not exaggerating when I say it was very loud.

The brakes and calipers were also extremely rusty. The inside and inside weren’t cleaned at all. I told the workers absolutely not. Then they tried convincing me to just keep the car for 7 days then I can return it to get a refund in CREDITS. I told them no and this was a back and forth for a few minutes with them trying to convince me to that. Thankfully I had family with me and my husband who is a mechanic. That car would have broken down probably on my way home. It took about 3 days to get my refund and then I decided to just go directly through the Mazda dealership. I will never buy from Carvana!

They apparently want a utility bill in YOUR NAME FIRST, tied to your address. My bills are largely in my husband's name. It took quite a bit of arm twisting, but they finally accepted a sewer bill in my name. We argued because the bill says "INVOICE" and not "Bill." Seriously. Second, they fail to notify Pennsylvania residents that "temporary insurance" is unacceptable. My car got delivered all the way here (2 hours for the driver) only to have my insurance rejected. They wouldn't accept temporary insurance, only a minimum of 30 days with an insurance card. My company doesn't do that. SO my car went back to Carvana until such time that I get a meeting with Erie Insurance to get a full policy with an insurance card for a CAR THAT I DON'T EVEN HAVE.

This has actually been the most pathetic piss poor service of a dealership and process. Absolutely asinine. I purchased the car February 21nd and received it the next day on the 22nd. The person that dropped off my car great. Everything else has been a pathetic nightmare. Upon arrival of the vehicle I took a picture of it at 12:03pm. By 12:12 pm I was receiving an overheating warning.... that's less than 10 minutes it took to receive this warning. With promise that the car would be fixed we pushed my 7 say warranty to yesterday, Friday March 6th. This mechanic IS a mechanic that is in network with carvana. I've been making the phone calls and ensuring communication between carvana, Silverrock and the mechanic. Which has also been a nightmare.

CARVANA PROVIDES NO OTHER COMPENSATION OTHER THAN PUSJING OUT YOUR WARRANTY TRIAL PERIOD. First of all if I return the car YOU'RE STILL GOING TO HAVE TO FIX IT AND THE FACT THAT YOU PROVIDE NO OTHER COMPENSATION OR ACCOMMODATION FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD IS COMPLETELY ASININE. I've been polite, patient, and understanding. I've shared my frustrations with timing and lack of communication and my hesitancy and was promised reassurance within a certain time frame to resolve the issue which has not been met.

Just to by the way be told that I can find a rental and be reimbursed a rental I could only get after the claim was approved which TOOK A WEEK BETWEEN ME HAVING TO CALL THE MECHANIC SILVERROCK AND CARVANA TO ENSURE THESE THINGS WOULD HAPPEN IN A TIMELY MANNER- Something by the way I shouldn't be having to do BECAUSE THE CAR SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SOLD TO ANYONE IN THIS CONDITION IN THE FIRST PLACE. My trial period for the car is irrelevant since I'm given a car a that isn't drivable. Especially since if I don't keep the car YOU WOULD HAVE TO FIX IT ANYWAY.

This should have been an occasion that provided relief, reassurance and stability. I've been without a vehicle for 3 years trying to find a job that can get me back and forth and save for transportation while having to order groceries and other home essentials. Planning day trips to take the bus to try and save on costs to get my essentials while dealing with people that seem to have the hardest time navigating a GPS- having inappropriate drivers who now know where I live or work constantly hitting on me.

Not only did you deny me my peace and safety but to then have the audacity to expect me to be grateful for getting the fixed of something that shouldn't have been sold and clearly didn't go through any type of inspection because if it had you would have know about the issue because it took less than 10 damn minutes to receive the warning. This is actually crazy. And to now be waiting until Monday because the mechanic shop didn't confirm that they had all the parts during delivery again a mechanic that is in network... provided off CARVANAS website... Ridiculous and embarrassing.

We purchased a 2025 vehicle with only 10,000 miles and a clean Carfax — exactly the kind of purchase that should feel straightforward and safe. It wasn't. Our personal mechanic identified an unusual oil leak shortly after delivery. When we contacted Carvana's chat support for guidance, they directed us to the Toyota dealership, assuring us the issue would be covered under warranty. They also granted us an extension on our 7-day return window to accommodate the appointment — which, in hindsight, was the right call for the wrong reasons.

At the dealership, we discovered the vehicle's engine had been fully replaced by the previous owner — a rental company — after a negligent oil change destroyed the original engine. This was never disclosed by Carvana. Because the engine was not original to the vehicle, the manufacturer's warranty was completely voided. Toyota charged us $165 for diagnostics on a problem that Carvana directed us to investigate.

When we asked Carvana to reimburse the diagnostic fee — a direct result of following their own instructions — they refused, citing that we should have used one of their in-network mechanics instead. The same Carvana that told us to go to the dealership. The clean Carfax was not the protection we assumed it would be. A replaced engine is a material fact that should have been disclosed at the point of sale, and wasn't. To anyone considering Carvana: request a dealer-conducted inspection before your return window closes, regardless of mileage or Carfax status. Don't assume a clean report means a clean vehicle. And if Carvana's own support team gives you guidance, get it in writing — because they may not stand behind it.

They list cars with a minimum down payment, then once you start the approval process, and give you the breakdown the “minimum down payment” goes from $2000 to over $10,000 for a vehicle that is $18,000. I would understand wanting a huge down payment from someone with very low credit score or no credit history, but not for people who have good credit. Then they push you to add a co-signer to get the down payment lower.

I'm sure that there is some loophole to make it legal, but things like advertising "7% financing" until I get to the last stages of the transactions, with a credit rating of near 800 then them switching it to a 13%+ rate is unethically to say the least. Then not communicating, when Carvana has known from the beginning of our interactions, where my location is, and only in the very, very last step am I told that you will not come pick up the car that you agreed to buy, after putting me through numerous monkey dance steps to fit into your automated system, and instead telling me that I need to bring the car over 220 miles from my home. I purchased a vehicle with 85,000 miles on the odometer. It was a very easy process to pay top dollar for this vehicle because there was no one available to negotiate the price down. I assumed with that high price it would be a thoroughly checked-over vehicle. I looked at the 150-point inspection, they said my vehicle went through to promise me I could have confidence in it being dropped off before I even get to drive it. During the easy process of purchasing this vehicle, I usually don’t buy any of the extra drivetrain coverage, but it wouldn’t let me uncheck the warranty box, so I said to myself, maybe this is standard for all their final sales.

While not happy, I was forced to pay extra money for coverage I didn’t want but to back out of the sale at this point wasn’t reasonable because the kids and I had spent a lot of time agreeing on the pictures of what vehicle we wanted. Besides, I’m buying a vehicle I haven’t even driven so maybe the coverage would save me money a few thousand miles after ownership. Had I known they brought my 20,000 purchase on a flatbed because the transmission was in such bad shape, it would have had trouble making it to my house. Of course, after my first drive, I knew something was wrong and so I started the process of getting it into one of Silver Rock's (Carvana) in-network shops.

I am about to make my first payment and my new vehicle is non-drivable and now in a out of network shop, hopefully getting fixed. I believe had I just backed out and told them to take the vehicle back, they would have taken it in the same condition to the next unaware buyer. After trusting repair promises from Carvana's in network shops, my money-back guarantee ran out. I didn’t get a rental car because they don’t actually provide a rental. You are only getting your money back for the supposedly provided rental if you pay for it out-of-pocket, and afterwards, they may approve it. Luckily, I didn’t trade in my old vehicle, or I would be screwed. Forced to pay for a rental.

I wouldn’t say get a vehicle and drive it a bunch to make sure that Carvana isn’t screwing you over. I would say don’t go to Carvana at all and stick with your local dealerships. At least they have a reputation to uphold at your local dealership instead of somebody you can call in another state that you have to explain what’s going on with your non-drivable vehicle every time you reluctantly call. I want to sue Carvana for the aggravation and frustration of buying a vehicle from them.

My vehicle was delivered with multiple mechanical and cosmetic defects that should have been identified during any reasonable inspection process. The condition at drop-off directly contradicted the company’s marketing claims of “quality inspected” and “road-ready.” Within days, it became clear:

    • there wasn’t enough time in the limited post-delivery window to identify or address all defects
    • several pre-existing issues were excluded from warranty coverage
    • repairs were delayed or denied

    • responsibility was repeatedly shifted between the seller and warranty administrators

When a vehicle is represented as thoroughly inspected but arrives with obvious, pre-existing problems — and meaningful remedies are not provided — it begins to look less like inconvenience and more like misrepresentation, failure to disclose known defects, and a breach of implied warranty of merchantability. Consumers deserve transparency, not fine-print protections that leave them holding the bill. Do your due diligence before purchasing.

I'm writing this as a warning to anyone considering Carvana with a trade-in that has negative equity. I purchased a vehicle from Carvana and financed through my own lender (USAA). I traded in a vehicle that was upside down, with the negative equity rolled into the transaction -- which I fully understood and accepted at the time of purchase. However, shortly after delivery, the vehicle exhibited a material mechanical defect that was not disclosed. I immediately notified Carvana and requested a return within their return window, which Carvana agreed to.

Here is where the process completely broke down: Although the vehicle was returned, Carvana had already paid off my prior lender as part of the trade-in. Carvana is now attempting to leave me responsible for approximately $8,000 in unsecured negative equity for a vehicle I no longer own -- despite the return being caused by an undisclosed defect. Front-line representatives repeatedly fell back on "as-is" language, despite Carvana advertising a return policy and limited warranty that clearly contemplate defects. Requests for a full financial unwind and executive-level review were met with resistance and circular arguments, even after escalation.

To be clear: I am not disputing that negative equity existed. I am disputing being left with unsecured debt after a transaction that was rescinded due to a vehicle not as described. Carvana's return process is marketed as simple and consumer-friendly, but that promise does not hold up when a trade-in with negative equity is involved. Customers are not adequately warned that returning a defective vehicle can still leave them with thousands of dollars of debt and no car. I am currently awaiting executive resolution. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend Carvana to anyone trading in a vehicle with an existing loan.

I purchased a 2024 Chevy Silverado from Carvana on January 11th, paying $55,000 for the truck plus an additional $2,000 shipping fee to have it transported from Illinois to California. At delivery, Carvana handed me the keys and explicitly told me they would handle all registration paperwork and that my license plates would arrive within 60 days. Nothing unusual, nothing required from me — or so I was told. Carvana also heavily advertises a 7-day satisfaction guarantee, allowing customers to return the vehicle for a full refund if there are issues.

Here’s where things went wrong. On January 20th — AFTER the 7-day return window had already closed — I received an automated call telling me I had an urgent registration issue. When I logged into my account, I was informed that I now had just THREE DAYS to personally take the truck to a weigh station and obtain a weight certificate so Carvana could complete the registration. This requirement was never disclosed at the point of sale, never disclosed at delivery, and never disclosed during the return window.

To make matters worse: The nearest weigh station is over 2 hours away in Los Angeles. I explained I do not have the time to make a full-day round trip within 3 days. In California, registration is the dealer’s responsibility, not the customer’s. I offered to bring the truck to Carvana so THEY could have an employee weigh it. Their response? They refused, saying they “don’t have enough staff.” So let me get this straight: They charge $2,000 for delivery. They fail to complete required paperwork beforehand. They wait until after the refund window closes. Then they dump the responsibility on the customer. And when challenged, they claim they’re understaffed. This is not just bad service — it’s misleading and negligent.

Had Carvana: Disclosed this requirement upfront, or Included weighing the vehicle as part of their delivery process, or Informed me within the 7-day return period, I could have made an informed decision or returned the truck. Instead, they waited until I was trapped. Carvana has ZERO meaningful service after the sale. Once the car is delivered and the return window closes, you are completely on your own — even for problems caused by their own failures. I strongly recommend thinking twice before buying from Carvana, especially if you’re purchasing an out-of-state vehicle in California. What they promise upfront and what they deliver afterward are two very different things.

On the delivery day, I received the car I purchased and immediately noticed undisclosed damage. The car had been rear-ended with extensive exterior damage and someone tried to cover it up with gloss spray paint. The next day, I took it to a very reputable mechanic shop in town who told me it looks to have been rear-ended. I then took the car to a collisions repair center which said the same thing.

But still, Carvana and SilverRock denied the claim I filed, citing "the concern you've noted is not covered for repair due to the imperfection being considered minor and within typical wear and tear." Customer service just tells me I can return or replace the car, but I will not get the $990 nonrefundable shipping fee back. I will never buy a vehicle from them again and would highly advise against it for others.

The delivery person arrived and proceeded to just keep beeping his horn rather than come to the door. Bottom Line Up Front, get your Carvana car to a trusted mechanic within the first 7 days so that you can determine if you have an unsafe vehicle. Their 150 point inspection apparently is not concerned with safety. Get claims to their authorized garages within those 7 days. Having it documented within that time frame is NOT enough.

I knew which car I wanted, I had spent a lot of time saving and researching. Finding that specific model and trim was proving difficult. I finally found a couple options at Carmax and Carvana but none on the East Coast. Carvana had a better "delivered price" so I went with it. The purchase and paperwork side of it went smoothly other than a bit of a pain digitizing the records.

Then I find out that no, Carvana does not deliver to your home unless you or in a small selected areas. New England is not in the area. Living in Vermont, the car could only make it to Boston. Fine, it was a very specific car and I was willing to drive to out of state dealerships if I had found one anyway. Slight delay but the day comes to drive my trade-in, the 250 miles, to Boston. I get to the location and meet the associate that will be finishing the paperwork.

The car is as advertised, with the one noticeable cosmetic damage (as advertised). The associate checks out my trade-in and apparently had never driven a manual. As he was checking for warning lights, started the car and lurches it into the decorative stone retaining wall bordering the parking lot. To their credit, I have not heard complaints about the damage to the front end of "their' car. After a look over of the car, under the hood, trunk, and feeling the tread of the tyres (but only the first or second grove), we finish the paperwork and I head off in my new car. As soon as I get home, 250 miles later, I make an appointment with the local dealership to check out the car. They can't see it for another two weeks. The drive home was great, 250 miles to get a feel of the car and it handled great. I was not worried about the 7day grace period offered by Carvana.

Being winter I start lining up snow tyres. As it turns out I get a set lined up for the same day I have my dealership appointment but that is 7 days after our first real snow. I drive the car for 7 days then park it for 7 days given the performance summer tyres and how much they do not like temperatures under 40F. Carpooled for a week.

I finally get the car to the dealer and they call that morning to tell me that the belts were showing on two wheels and just starting on the other two. And we were getting more snow. After leaving the car at the dealer all day, they did not have time to perform the scheduled maintenance or to perform their inspection. I still do not know what other mechanical issues I may have. I will not be buying form Carvana again and I will limit my exposure to the dealer.

SilverRock's response is that tyres are consumables and are not covered, I point out that it is a safety issue to send me 250 miles on bald tyres, if i had reached out within the 7 days there might have been something they could have done. Carvana is also saying that they are consumables and they don't care. Talking to their authorized garage, I hear that the only time they honored the warranty was when the buyer was within the 7 days and told them to fix the brakes or send their truck to come get it. Again, to Vermont. It was cheaper to fix the brakes. Do not trust that they know or care about the state of the vehicle they are selling you.

I purchased a 2011 BMW 335i m sport rear wheel drive convertible with only 72,000 miles. Car was sold to me with all the boxes checked Pass by Carvana. Which is very debatable. The COOLANT was NEVER CHANGED which resulted in a leaking radiator when initially purchased in 100 day window. But mechanic says there were no leaks which is false. 1 month later after the 100 day warranty, the plastic RADIATOR on the car literally leaked like a sieve and developed 4 cracks and nearly got me stranded on a highway the vehicle would literally slow to limp home mode. I had the vehicle flat bedded to my home and was told and VERIFIED in addition to the coolant system issues All 4 tires were dry rotted and were 10 yrs old. First excuse: the driver broke down.

When I asked whether Carvana has any contingency plans so customers aren’t left stranded without a car, there was no real answer. 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid delivery on December 22 was canceled because, “The transportation truck driver unexpectedly called out.” After that, we had a great deal of trouble finding a time when we could both be home for a delivery (purchaser and cosigner must be present). Ultimately, we scheduled it for pickup at Latham and were charged an additional $900 at the time of rescheduling without any explanation as to what that charge was for. I could not proceed with scheduling the pickup without agreeing to the $900, however, so I figured we’d sort it out later.

When we got to Latham, the car had new plates on despite us originally requesting to transfer our plates. We eventually got the license plates sorted out, but we have not received a refund for the difference in price. Driving that day, it was immediately clear that the CRV’s hybrid features were not working (regardless of how long the car was running).

When we turned the CRV on the following day to try to figure it out, it started running through every single warning in the system. Clearly an electrical malfunction. This car should not have been for sale. We ordered a different vehicle, but couldn’t get it delivered before Jan 2 because of the Carvana schedule being full. We then needed to find a day that we could both be present. This left us having to unexpectedly have to rent a vehicle to cover the five days that we would be without one. This, coinciding with the holidays, meant that a five-day rental of a basic economy model sedan cost us yet another $879 (receipt attached)!

So we have now given Carvana a $2,500 down payment, $990 shipping for a car that doesn’t work and needs to be picked up, another $900 for something no one at the Latham Carvana could explain, the unclear amount for the new plates we didn’t want, and now we’re almost $900 in for a rental car because we were sold a vehicle that doesn’t work. That vehicle is now just sitting in my driveway until January 2nd and I’m out an obscene amount of money as I’m driving around in a wildly overpriced Hyundai.

I wanted to communicate with Carvana about this, but they offer AI bots via text, humans on the phone who cannot even begin to deal with this issue, or AI bots via chat. So, hopefully, an actual human will see this and offer to help and remedy Carvana in our minds because right now… They are about the worst of the bunch.

**Carvana Review – A Holiday Disaster and a Complete Breakdown in Communication** I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience with Carvana deserves to be shared so others can avoid what I went through. A week before Christmas, I decided to surprise my wife with a 2022 BMW 740i. At the same time, I planned to sell my 2014 Mercedes S550 through Carvana. I was pre‑approved by my bank for $30,000 and had $10,000 cash on hand to complete the purchase. Simple enough — or so I thought.

From the beginning, the process was a disaster. My bank issued a single check for the full $40,000. Carvana refused to accept it because I had originally stated the funds would be split $30,000/$10,000. Even after speaking with a representative — while sitting in my banker’s office — and confirming that the funds and contract were ready to go, they still would not adjust or accept the payment.

Once the contracts were signed and uploaded, I received a call Friday evening congratulating me on my purchase. I assumed everything was finalized. Then Saturday — during the holiday weekend, when I don’t normally check email — I received a message saying the $10,000 (which was sitting in my account) “did not clear.” No phone call. No follow‑up. No attempt to resolve the issue. Just an email.

I was scheduled to pick up my wife’s Christmas gift on Thursday so I could present it to her on Christmas Day. By Wednesday, I logged into my account and discovered: My Mercedes offer had only **one day left**. The BMW I painstakingly worked to purchase was **back in their inventory**. The system now showed a **delivery date of December 27** if I wanted to start over

When I called, I was told:
    1. They could not attempt to process the funds again
    2. I would have to restart the entire purchase process
    3. There were **no guarantees** I could get the car by the 24th

    4. The delivery fee had increased from **$1,100 to $1,200**

For a company that claims to be “the new way to buy a car,” this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The communication was terrible, the process was rigid and unhelpful, and the service felt bottom‑of‑the‑barrel. I will never use Carvana again, and I’ve already informed the mechanic who recommended them that I cannot in good conscience recommend Carvana to anyone. This experience turned what should have been a joyful Christmas surprise into unnecessary stress and frustration. Buyers beware.

What a terrible experience over the holidays. Carvana falsely advertised the vehicle online that we intended on purchasing. When we showed up to take delivery it quickly became evident that the vehicle needed several repairs that were not disclosed including engine issues. It also needed a new windshield and had open recalls. Again, none of these issues were disclosed until after signing the paperwork. At this point things went downhill fast. Since we refused the delivery Carvana keeps our money for 15 business days. Considering that the next few days are holidays, and the fact that the weekend follows, this means our money will not be returned for 20+ days.

We need the vehicle TODAY to travel over the holidays to see family and to get our children to athletic competitions. The vehicle was supposed to be my wife's Christmas present as well. After spending almost 1.5 hours on the phone with customer service I was forced to contact my bank to reverse the charges. Carvana would not accept any responsibility for the situation and is leaving my family without the financial resources to secure a vehicle for the next 20 days. Putting undue hardships on my family. We are stuck without a car over the holidays and must cancel all our Christmas and New Years plans. We cannot cancel our reservations either and are now out that money as well. I will never forgive this organization for ruining Christmas and New Years for my entire family. Shame on Carvana. Save yourself the stress and never buy from this sub par organization.

I have an 800 credit score, and my interest rate isn’t bad at 7%, but paying double for what the car is worth? Absolutely unacceptable. On top of that, you will never get a real human on the phone. Their customer service is practically nonexistent. This feels like a complete racket—slick marketing, but zero accountability. Shame on Carvana for running such a predatory business. I will never trust them again, and I strongly advise others to stay far away. Bottom line: Carvana is a bunch of thieves in suits. Avoid at all costs. If I could leave a negative star -I would! It is unbelievable that a company these days known for its automation and ease of procuring a vehicle is so clunky. It is almost embarrassing, and all they do (I mean their AI chatbot) is blame the state policy the vehicle is being purchased in. Instead of place blame, fix the problem, as simple as that. I would never purchase a vehicle via Carvana again. The running around and confusion on all stakeholders is not worth it. Sorry, go back to your local dealer or for sale by owner.

The reason I am giving 2 stars is because the experience was seamless. HOWEVER, the car got to me late, the person delivering it really had no idea what he was doing. He was a nice guy, though. ON THE OTHER SIDE---my car (so far) runs great. When I first started driving it, a knocking sound started and continued to get worse. Turns out whoever put the crappy tires on it did not bother to tighten the lugnuts properly and the rotation was making them looser. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. They say they do car inspections. BULL. There is no way to do a review on their site. They do NOT answer the phone--and do not call back. I have left 7 messages.

At this point, all I can do is pray nothing else goes wrong. I did have my mechanic go over it with a fine-tooth comb and he said it's in great shape, but the tires didn't pass inspection. I am not that worried about that part, as I always get a set of new tires on all the used cars I buy. However, the laziness that comes with not tightening lug nuts could have been life-threatening, and that is not okay. I will never do business with them again.

Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. This was one of the most frustrating consumer experiences I have ever had. My wife and I purchased a Chevy Trailblazer from Carvana and paid in full with cash while moving from Washington, DC to Georgia. The pickup was scheduled perfectly for the day we arrived in Georgia. Carvana processed our payment immediately. The next morning, Carvana called to say they could not complete the transaction because I did not yet have a Georgia driver’s license. I was not moving into the state for another week, making that impossible at the time. Rather than offering a solution, Carvana canceled the purchase.

Now we are in a state where a car is essential, without a vehicle, and without access to our money. Carvana told us it could take up to 10 business days to return funds that were withdrawn instantly. This issue should have been caught before allowing the purchase. The lack of flexibility, slow refund process, and absence of any meaningful remediation made an already stressful move far worse. Based on this experience, I am very unlikely to use Carvana again.

November 15th the check engine light came on. Took the car to get a computer read out on the problem. The code given was the 3rd cylinder was misfiring. I contacted Carvana right away. The car was sold to me with a 100-day warranty. The car was over heating and check engine light was on. I told the warranty company I could not drive it to the service center for the repair due to the overheating situation. I had to pay for a portion of the tow because it was over what the warranty company would pay for a tow. 127.00 over. It is now 12-19-2025.

I still do not have this vehicle to drive. It has been transferred to 4 different service centers by tow trucks to end up at a Chrysler dealership now. The warranty service is a joke!!! I didn't even have this vehicle 30 days and have yet to hear a solution. Buyer beware! When you purchase a vehicle, you have 7 days to decide if you want the vehicle or not. TAKE YOUR CAR AND HAVE THE DIAGNOSES COMPLETED ON IT!!!! Hard lesson learned. Now I am paying on a car I do not have and don't know if it will ever be fixed.

His car is in good shape with no Mechanical, Electrical, Interior or Body issues. The vehicle has been driven less than 250 since 12/07/24. However, in the interim I did some preventative maintenance to the vehicle (oil & filter change w/full synthetic motor oil; new oil filler cap; new oil pan; magnetic drain plug, new lo temp thermostat & housing, new K&N re-usable air filter, replaced both O2 Sensors and a new Serpentine Belt). The only body issues with the car were the typical sun faded paint on plastic parts (side mirrors & roof spoiler) and small ripple in the rear passenger door (which I failed to notice when I was submitting the vehicle's information on CarVana).

The vehicle's interior shows its age, yet there are no tears, stains or wear causing the condition of the interior to being rated as anything but good. I ran my Bosch OBDII scanner on the vehicle and zero codes popped up. I was given a purchase price of $4110 ($4200 - $90 Vehicle pick-up fee). I made an appointment to deliver the vehicle to CarVana @ my local Home Depot's parking lot. Following a physical and OBDII inspection of the car, CarVana refused to purchase the vehicle siting the undisclosed dent (on the rear passenger door and "airbag codes" and was given a 1-800 number to request a new purchased offer from CarVana. Recently I received CarVana's revised purchased offer for my deceased brother's Kia of $100. Edmunds values a 2017 Kia Sportage AWD between $5,000 to $13,000. Disappointing to say the least.

The car arrived two days later and they picked up the trade in. It was a smooth transaction. I had my mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection inside the 7 day window. This uncovered safety issues that would prevent the vehicle from passing my state safety inspection. I called Carvana and they assured me that they will cover the fixes through Silver Rock, their insurance company, but I have to take it to their preferred mechanic.

I made an appointment and took it in and they had the car for three days, argued with the insurance company who would only cover 30% of necessary work. Not enough to pass inspection. I would need to cover another $2,500 in work just to pass. As this wasn’t acceptable I called and they took they agreed to take the car back since I was inside my trial period. They came and picked the car up on a Friday at 5pm.

At this point I was without a vehicle for three days while it was in the shop, they didn’t mail out my trade in check till Monday. It was sent via FedEx, to the wrong address…my address in a completely different state. Now FedEx is holding my check till Carvana calls them to update the address which will take 48 hours. I have been without a vehicle for 8 days, I have a rental car and I’m out my shipping cost. I DO NOT recommend buying a vehicle from them. I have to admit, the purchase process was fast and pain free. I found the vehicle, with the exact options I was looking for and purchased it. I was very happy with my 2020 Ram 1500 Classic when I first received it. Shortly after, I found that the remote start didn't work. They told me to contact the repair contractor for Carvana to find a repair shop near me. As I run a nonprofit for veterans and first responders, I don't have a lot of time, so I still have not gotten it repaired. That is on me.

The real problem came after about a month of driving the truck. It left me stranded and needed a jump to get me back on the road. I figured I left a light on or something, so I took it home an put it on a charger. Then about a week later, it left me stranded again. It is obvious that the battery is bad in the truck. When I went to the Carvana site to file a claim on the 100 day warranty, which I still had 60 days left of, I received this message: "Sorry, you aren't covered for battery issues. Wearable components like tires, brakes or batteries are excluded. Get service at a recommended shop or find one that works for you." How much wear can you put on a vehicle in one month? It is obvious they allow shoddy components to be passed onto the customer and do nothing to make it right. I first attempted to purchase a 2019 Nissan Titan SV pickup and Carvana said, "Before we can deliver your truck we had to make sure that it was safe." Mind you, I'd already sent my down payment and had insurance placed on the vehicle. Asked what is wrong after delays in having it delivered. I canceled the purchase but I gave them another chance to make it right so I chose another vehicle to purchase and it looked better than the first. This truck was another nissan titan but it was a 2018 SL with more options.

After a few more days and another 2000 dollars, total down was 4000 adding 2000 more from first down-payment on the first truck, my vehicle was delivered to my house and arrived in pristine condition. But on the initial drive I noticed the engine fan kept turning on but the motor wasn't hot and the transmission lunched a couple of times. I researched the next day on what shop to take it to within their network of repair facilities. It was Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving so the truck at the shop for the full seven days to return it or not. Carvana granted me an extension which was cool.

Aamco was the shop and they called to tell me that a fan clutch needed repair plus something is wrong with the transmission. I called my case person about it and their team suggested to return after learning it would cost 8600 to fix it. Don't pay any attention to that first 100 days we will fix it crap because they don't really want to. It is Saturday 12/6/25 and I'm at home waiting for them to pick the truck up after having insurance and tags/registration on the vehicle. I do not recommend doing business with them.

Mileages showed 50007 so I took a chance. Car arrived with a few extra scrapes. I’m guessing from loading it cause you could definitely tell they were fresh and even the delivery driver agreed. He took pics. He gave me the key and that was all. Just a key. In the pics it showed a key with a key fob. NO fob. He said that was all there was in the key room.

So he wrote that down after I showed him the pic from their website that there was a key fob included. Then we did the paperwork and he gave me a paper that had a scan code on it if I need any further assistance after he left. Well I did. I went to start the car and looked at the dash and it showed tire psi and so forth so I tapped the button and it came to the odometer reading and it showed 65571. Holy cow. That’s over 15000 more miles than what they had on their website. So I called and the gentleman I spoke to said that this was very unacceptable and had me send him a pic of the odometer and I did. I made this call within an hour after the delivery driver left.

The rep on the phone after about 30 min. Said he had all the info he needed and said he will get back to me after he spoke with his team. Days went by and no call back. So I called them, got another rep and he seen my complaint from the other day and told me it was still under review. Still never got a call back. So I guess they got their money. It went past my 7 days and nobody seem to care. So if you buy a car from Carvana check EVERYTHING over before signing anything. I won’t be buying any other vehicle from them.

Due to the continued lack of communication and transparency after the delivery of this vehicle.

The vehicle was delivered on November 13th and taken to a shop the very next day, where numerous serious issues were identified:
    - Severe rust around the sunroof seal
    - Damaged rotors
    - Filthy air vents
    - Blown speakers
    - Highway noise resembling a cracked window
    - Driver’s seat heating/cooling system not functioning

    - Transmission jolting forward between gears

Since November 15th, we have attempted to reach Carvana through chat and phone, only to be told we must speak with an escalation advocate. I sent emails on November 16th and 18th regarding these issues, yet the only response has been about the overpayment refund and inconvenience fee. That email is attached. Still no resolution.

Because Carvana has been unresponsive, we scheduled warranty repair. The vehicle was taken to the shop on November 20th, the earliest available appointment. It has not been driven since November 16th due to safety concerns. In the meantime, my son—who purchased this vehicle at 18 after working hard to afford it—has been forced to drive my car, creating a major inconvenience for me and my family.

The warranty company offered only a $45 rental car, unavailable until Friday due to the holiday. As a result, our Thanksgiving plans are canceled because my son needs my vehicle for work. To make matters worse, warranty refuses to repair the rusted sunroof, dismissing it as “cosmetic.” Rust of this magnitude is not cosmetic—it is a defect that was never disclosed in the listing. At this point, it is clear Carvana’s support ends once the sale is complete. That is unacceptable. We need resolution immediately. My son has invested in a vehicle he cannot drive and has not had possession of for nearly a week.

I ordered a car, unseen and undriven on 11.19.25, and it was delivered on 11.20.25. The process was very easy, smooth, and drop-off took about 10 minutes. With that said, I did my due diligence and had a new car inspection done, at an independent shop (knew the warranty shop would say "everything's great"). They found a few minor things, but things that have to do with suspension and brakes, and fuel sensor, that should be addressed.

Contacted Carvana, made the appt at the "authorized service center", which said they would do their own inspection. Of course everything is "perfect" no issues at all..there is no phone number to call at Carvana to actually talk to someone, and if you ask for a call back through their system, you never get a call. I was assured through the "chat with an advisor" option, that the repairs would be made. Nope. when I again went to the "live chat with advisor" this time their answer was "you can return it, here's the number". A huge waste of time! So my options are return it, even though i love the car itself, or keep it and invest the money to do the repairs myself. Feels like once you have the car, they don't care anymore. They got your deposit, auto pay info and on to the next sale. Think I'll stick with dealers directly in the future, at least they deal with any issues that the car has when you receive it.

The car they sold me supposedly underwent a full inspection. WRONG. They didn't change the oil (though said they did). The rear brakes were SHOT (not just pads) and a suspension problem. The 100 day warranty was useless - the shops they make you go to don't work on Mini coopers. SOOO UPSET

Excellent transactionally. POOR REALITY. The car had undisclosed information upon delivery: (1) tires were 9 yrs old!; (2) after-market exhaust that is loud and unbearable driving at certain speeds; (3) after-market air filter. Sad is when I contacted Carvana, they only say exchange the car. Which puts the hassle to me, the buyer, to deal. If they posted pictures of car underneath would expose the after-market teenager exhaust! Also with picture of tire would expose/disclose tire age. SHAME CARVANA!

My husband is a 100% disabled veteran with a traumatic brain injury who uses a VA-issued assistive transcription device to understand and recall phone conversations. Carvana refused to let him use his medically-required ADA accommodation. Three different reps told him they would disconnect the call and refuse service unless he turned it off—even though Arizona is a one-party consent state and Carvana records all calls themselves.

The way they spoke to him was dismissive and hostile, but when I got on the line, the tone completely changed. That alone was heartbreaking to witness. They also told us there was a “major problem” with the car but later admitted it was only a minor door issue. This experience caused significant emotional stress, and we ultimately had to walk away from the purchase. No disabled veteran—or anyone with a disability—should be treated this way. Posting this so others know what to expect.

The loan for the car is showing up on my credit report and made it drop over 20 points. I am still trying to buy a car and that showing up on my credit report sucks. The company said it will be removed at the end of the month.

Carvana for us is a tale of 2 companies... Buying a car from them was easy and no hassle. Selling one is another story... I filled out the survey online to get a quote from Carvana honestly and accurately. The man who dropped off the car we bought from them said it only need drive forward and backward. They arrived to pickup the used car (quoted at 1300) and put a code reader on it and rejected it. Nowhere online did it mention it had to pass a codereader and our agreement has been broken. When asking about this all I got was "I just work here" from the person who should have picked up the used vehicle and when I called Carvana they said they had to manually quote it now. I'm not sure how this can even be legal but it certainly is not ethical. Please let everyone you know to beware of this practice. I will sell the car on Marketplace.

If 0 stars was a option I would have e used it! Do not buy a vehicle from Carvana! I found a Jeep on carvana, the first time around they sold it out from under me, then 2 weeks later they say its available again the other person's financing fell through. So another 2 weeks later the jeep arrives and has a coolant leak, a horrible wobble before you could even get to 45 mph, and the top was leaking into the passenger side floor board. So I refused the Jeep.

Immediately they place the jeep back up for sale! No repairs, just put it back up like it was in top shape! Now This is weeks later I just received message from Carvana that the jeep I had my eye on is available again! You have got to be kidding me! The financing process is ridiculous. They make you jump through sooo many hoops! You think you're done and there's one more thing you have to do! Carvana you should be ashamed and anyone that works there is a truly horrible person because you all know what kind of crap they are selling people and yet you still do it! I would stay far far away from carvana.

I filed for a claim with Silverrock, don't get me started, and my new vehicle is stuck for an undetermined amount of time while we wait for one. On top of that, I have to come out of pocket for a portion, $575 for the repairs and deductible, as well as out of pocket rental which supposedly will be reimbursed. Carvana offered me $600 for my rental and inconvenience, nothing more. They washed their hands of me and now I'm stuck!

Ordered my vehicle in June 2025, I was contacted by a Carvana Rep stating the vehicle will be "delayed" to a later date. This went on for 2 weeks. Third week rolls around. Another rep calls and states the vehicle "check engine light is on and won't crank." I was informed it was in the shop and had to pass this infamous "150 point inspection" again .. I had a few more reps to call to tell me different stories from key fob to this and that. Long story short out of the blue I received a text from a truck driver on July 20th, saying my vehicle was en route. I asked questions about the car she had no idea what I was talking about, I called Carvana and rep was rude and stated they couldn't disclose any previous information on the vehicle to me.

I only wanted to know if the issue was fixed. Apparently it wasn't, here it is November and it has been in the shop numerous times. I bought an extended warranty which is only the essential, HUGE MISTAKE may I add, useless absolutely USELESS. SilverRock has picked that thing apart, buy the next one up if you can afford it. My vehicle has been in the shop since I have purchased it and now the 7 and 100 day warranty has passed I'm looking at 10k in repairs. The vehicle has already had around 9k put in it already. I will NOT recommend Carvana, I will recommend the better warranty. Hopefully this helps someone. 😔

Long story short: We picked up our vehicle from Carvana in Chicago, and to our dismay it wasn’t even cleaned inside. Worse, a warning light came on as soon as we started it. We went back inside and spoke with the manager, who assured us not to worry—they would take care of everything free of charge. All we needed to do was make an appointment.

Fast-forward two months, and the issue still isn’t fixed. SilverRock is refusing to replace the headlamp with original parts because of the cost. They tried using an aftermarket part, but it doesn’t work because the lighting system is programmed to the vehicle. The dealership helping us knows the exact problem and can fix it, but SilverRock still refuses to pay for the correct part.

Please consider this for using Carvana. Everything looked great online and the experience for purchase was easy. The cons: hard to get ahold of anyone before you pick up car to verify local pick-up info. I read several reviews of people getting cancelled on because car was not onsite only 30min before pick-up time. This beautiful car I bought (2019 Cadillac XT5 platinum) WREAKED of cigarette smoke. I had already made full payment for the car. I was pissed...nothing I could do except use 7 day return policy. I chose to try and clean the car, changed air filter (was filthy upon purchase), used ozone generator. Still a slight odor remains. Car was surface level clean upon inspection but filthy steering wheel and control knobs (used about 20 clorox wipes to clean off all the grime inside - they all came out filthy brown/dirty after multiple cleanings.

Funny that I also saw a story on Amazon in a review of the ozone generator I bought that a person had the same experience of getting a smoke smelling car FROM CARVANA which caused them to have the same problem...so this is not a one time thing. I feel that Carvana was not upfront about cigarette stench infiltrating car...that's shady and unethical business practice in my opinion.

Luckily following the purchase, the customer service phone number was helpful in recovering my cleaning costs of the car and refunding the excess registration costs they charged me, but I would NOT do a purchase through them ever again due to the dishonest/omitted info of disgusting car odor. They should have NEVER offered up this car for sale in that condition for being a dealer. That would never happen at a brick & mortar dealership. Price was OK, but should have been way lower with the smoke damage. BUYERS BEWARE!

If I could give Carvana zero stars, I would. I tried to purchase a vehicle and ended up cancelling after 6 weeks of waiting and delayed appointments. The preorder period took several weeks, during which I received to details as to why, just a vague statement on my account page saying “there has been a delay”. If you try to call customer service to get more information, they either won’t or cannot give you any info. I used my local CU for a loan, and Carvana took almost a week to register my CU into their system and draft a purchase and sales.

On top of that, they did not recognize this; the online system simply added an “upload loan company check photos” deadline… It took me 3 callS into customer service to get a P&S sent over so I could even obtain a check. Next, my pickup date was delayed three times, due to a “Mechanical delay” of unknown origin. After a week, three appointments and upwards of a half dozen phone calls (where people told me they had no information), I find out that the mechanical delay was due to the car not starting. At that point, I canceled the order. In total, this process took approximately 6 weeks. STAY AWAY FROM CARVANA!

My Mom will be 83 next January, recently got bad news from her heart doc and decided she's not going to drive anymore. I said I would handle the sale for her, Carvana online says it's quick and easy, etc. COMPLETELY the opposite. I uploaded the pics, documents they needed, then I got an email saying they need more docs, we'll get back to you. Days pass, no word from Carvana... I dont even know WHAT they need, couldve been getting it by now. I got fed up waiting, so I called and spoke to a rep. He said I needed lien payoff letter, which was inches away from my hand this whole time. I uploaded it WHILE WE WERE ON THE PHONE, he got it, and said that should be all they need. 10 mins later, I get another email. 'Thanks for those docs, but we'll need some more. We'll get back to you" again.

Days later, AGAIN, I call Carvana, ready to dump this BS 'deal'. Yet more 'requirements', so I told them I was walking away from the deal... but only after these fools wasted a WEEK of our time. I could've had a deal done for similar $$ at the dealership across the street (blowing up my phone for 3 days to buy it) in ONE day. SUCH a ridiculous waste of time. SAY NO TO CARVANA!!!!
