It was pretty easy doing business with CarGurus. Their pricing was fair. I had overall a good experience with them. But there were other opportunities that I felt like that they offered a fraction of what a car was actually worth. But it’s worth giving them a shot.

I sold my vehicle to CarGurus. Their platform was easy to use. I had to put the information about the car. It was like talking to a dealer when you are in the dealership. Also, the customer service at the CarGurus location was very welcoming and professional. The pricing was good because I had taken the car to the dealership I had purchased it at. The price that CarGurus gave me was over 1,000 more than what the dealership gave me. I expected to get more, but it was close to what I was thinking about.

DON'T TAKE SERVICE HERE!!! They have taken our car for normal service which usually takes max of 4 hours. They have taken on Friday, have stayed under their custody on Saturday and communicated to be delivered on the same day. We waited till 11PM and no calls was received from them. Sunday they are closed. Now it's Monday, Still they did not deliver. Such a bad service. Imagine commuting back and forth to work with toddler to drop off to nanny's house. Such an inconvenient. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I put up a Ford Mustang for consignment through a dealership. The dealer did most of the process with CarGurus. So they let me know once it was sold. I was hoping to get a grand or two more, but the price was all right. It was a pretty easy experience. I would recommend CarGurus.

The part that I used in terms of the online portion was efficient. I bought the car used. However, the CARFAX report indicated there was a previous accident on it. It happened before I purchased it. CARFAX was probably incorrect when I purchased it. By the time I got to the dealership, it had been reported. They lowered the price because of that. I didn't get the price that was put online. It was a $3,000 difference. That was disappointing. If I provided my VIN number on the car, why did I still get two different price quotes? That might have been the reason why Carvana offered me less. CarGurus might wanna improve that portion. I would recommend them but make sure you get your CARFAX report in line.

I use CarGurus a lot if I'm researching used vehicles and they always seem to be good. I just put my VIN number in the site. A particular dealership gave me a call. Then I just drove it over to them and made the deal and we're done. The process was very fast and I got the price that I wanted.

I was interested in financing a car on CarGurus. I got redirected to Lending Tree. Once I put my information in I was quoted a 20% interest rate which is ridiculous for someone with an 810 FICO score. Seek other financing options rather than going through CarGurus.

They never call you back? I do not want to drive 400 miles round trip, just to find out the car is no longer available, or the dealer is not availabe, the lot is closed and locked up? I would need to make contact with the dealer before heading out to Lakewood! Plus I read somewhere that Car-Gurus have hidden fees? This is a lot of red flags!

On 8/6/2025 we found a car on CarGurus online which was posted by Ally Auto LLC. We started out liking a car and spoke with somebody and had an approval letter for it. 2 days later that car was sold out from under us. Conveniently there was the same car only higher mileage and higher price. After a difficult negotiation process and many lies from the salesman we ended up making a deal with Sam the manager after I was going to walk away from the deal for $400, the price of shipping. The car was listed as no damage and a clean title. We worked out financing and shipping as I live in Oklahoma and the dealership is in McKinney Texas. The day that we received the vehicle I took pictures and noticed a missing center hub, stains in the carpet and a cigarette butt and the coin holder. He paid for a detailing.
Later I noticing one missing lug nut from each wheel. The passenger side rear tire was losing air and come to find out the wheel is cracked. Going to register the vehicle, the DMV let me know that there was a lien on the title and the title is not clear. Additional paperwork was needed to register the vehicle. While insuring the vehicle the insurance agent informed us that there was a prior accident on the vehicle and surcharges needed to be paid to insure the vehicle. After speaking with Sam the manager and letting him know all of what was going on he agreed to pay for the wheel. Order a missing center hub but ignored the lug nuts. He says that there is no lien on the vehicle, that there were no damages and no recalls. Doing my own investigation on the VIN, come to find out there are recalls as well as an existing accident.
As of today September 9th and speaking with Sam I'm now getting repossession threats via text if I don't make my first payment and register the vehicle. I can't register the vehicle until I receive the paperwork that he sends. This is the worst experience at any dealership I've ever had. Update as of 10/5/25. They still have not held up to what they agreed with in sending the missing hub but have paid for the wheel. I recommend avoiding this dealership at all cost!

It was my first time buying and selling cars this past year. I’m still figuring out the tricks of the trade but CarGurus worked for what it was needed. Comparing CarGurus and the other site, some cars will show up on one or the other. There are cars that you see elsewhere but I prefer CarGurus. It maybe glitchy sometimes but at least when searching you’ll not find very old cars on there.

I sold my Ford 2020 through CarGurus. Their website was good and the process went perfect. The only complaint I had was they had made an offer of 20,500 online. When I got over there, they told me that they could only offer me 19,500 because of the tires. I said, "I put that on the description that it needed four tires when I filled it out." I said, "If you can't give me what you offered, I'll just go elsewhere." We talked for a while and he finally came back with 20,000, which I agreed to.

Car Gurus sent many Corvettes that were in my search filters. I did purchase one, online. Car Gurus is directly responsible for me finding a corvette that I really liked. You enter your requirements and they only send cars that qualify to your filters.

Unfortunately, this site is no longer reliable for buying a used car. I called several dealerships looking for cars, and they were all sold. It is too much to ask for Car Gurus to have some sort of system AI or employees checking daily to update their inventory? To me, they are a SCAM because they are saying they have thousands of cars for sale when in fact they DON'T, they only have pictures. There is no accountability for this company; they just don't care to check, and have turned into a FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Don't waste your time on this site, try to get a car somewhere else.

Have gone through the process of providing a ton of personal information to include Social Security number, photo ID and more. Have done this three times through CarGurus. All three times, the dealer not only acts annoyed, but essentially tells me that doing all that was a waste of time and they claim that they cannot see any of that information or documents provided. Additionally, they do not honor pricing or out the door numbers whatsoever. This is a great place to search for cars, but it’s 100% a waste of time and does not help whatsoever in starting the purchase process. Their claim is “start online finish with the dealer“. This is not true. If anything you’ve provided a ton of information to a third-party that does God knows what with it. Do not and I repeat do not utilize their platform for anything other than searching for cars.

I put down a deposit on a car that's not even available. The next day went to get it. It was not there here. We are 10 days later and I still haven't got the deposit back that I made on a sold vehicle. Getting in touch with somebody has been impossible and I would never ever ever recommend using Car gurus.

That Dealership was a scam; they had hidden fees of $10,500. They are lying and misleading about their car. They’re offering it for $35,998, which is completely untrue. When I got there, they added $10,500 to the cost on stuff they added onto all of their vehicles so it’s hidden fees and I will never shop there again and now I almost feel like I don’t have as much trust in cargo as I’ve had in the past and I bought three cars through the Car Guru website and now I feel like I can’t trust it when a dealership has that much in hidden fees. Which means they are way overpriced.

My experience with Cargurus was less than stellar. In fact it was outright fraud. I went on cargurus.com and got a quote for $19,000 for my 2018 BMW. I got several offers and took an offer that was not the highest but it was closest to where I was. In this case it was Nissan of Morrow, Georgia.. The representative I spoke to by the name of Chris was professional and composed. After spending 45 minutes, driving there, and having him look around the vehicle to verify that everything I’ve reported about the car was accurate.
The car was flawless, not smoked in, super clean, no mechanical issues and drives perfectly. He came back with an offer of $16,000. He further went on to explain yes the car is excellent however, you know “these BMWs are high maintenance vehicles and if something goes wrong, it will be expensive to fix in the near future.“ So in other words, he predicated a $3000 lower offer based on something that the car may or may not need in the future?
Needless to say, I don’t know if the fault lies with cargurus or their partners but this lowball practice is absurd. I can understand if the car presented with issues that were not reported but the car had no issues whatsoever. This is outright fraud and I’m having legal look into this issue because this is a clear bait and switch when they can give you no reason to offer you lower except for that in the future, the vehicle may need something. Disgusting. I will make sure I will share my experience with everyone to steer clear of this place.

John was able to transfer me to the dealer the vehicle was located at so I could set up appointment to test drive it. Found a car I like. Got a call from the dealership. It was 1.5 hours away. After talking for a bit about the car he said oh we don’t have that anymore. Was not on our lot. Our conversation began with the car being there. Then tried to send me other BMW's. Very annoyed and felt it was a scam.

I was at Flatirons Subaru in Boulder Colorado on Saturday 8-29-25. I was looking at a silver 2024 silver Crosstrek with very low mileage. After coming home I found 3 car rental documents in my glove box. Apparently that car was rented out 3 times before I made the purchase and no one disclosed that information to me. I know this is deceptive and illegal. I was told it had 1 owner but never 3 different rentals. Had I known this it would have affected my decision on the purchase. The mileage was 3.906. My problem being how much of that were rentals?
I left a message with the sales manager at Subaru to call me which he hasn't. I'm angry and disappointed Car Gurus would even allow dealerships to do that. There are plenty of rental companies out there if that's what people want. Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, etc. I guess you can just waltz into any dealership, rent cars and not disclose that information to potential buyer. Again, against the law. I'm sure you don't care but thought I'd let you know anyway.

I spend hours searching for a great car with a good price and low miles. Started close to home, to find out, the cars were not in good condition. The color was bad, interior, mechanical issues. Does Car Gurus check the cars? Ended up driving to Dallas for a car, that had features that I wanted. Place my faith on a person working at the dealership. I asked does it run good? Look at the pictures. Cannot drive it, not there. Reading all equipment it had I wanted the car. I get to the dealership, drove the car, two blocks. Went back and purchase the car, thank you.

I was asking for availability and some technical questions they weren’t able to answer, but they were able to transfer me to a dealer. My question had to do with differences between the 2022 CR-V Hybrid model and the 22 CR-V Touring model. They forward my information to the actual deal that selling the car and that’s all I want.

I found the bests prices on CarGurus. Then I found a hell of a deal. I was able to put an online deposit for the cars I wanted and I received a refund for the one I didn’t buy. They put me in contact with the dealers and I was able to see the dealer fees and the final price. Thanks for making my purchase as good as possible.

Selling my Volkswagen Jetta through CarGurus was great, but I really have to give credit to the dealer that I sold through CarGurus. They made it so easy. It was the easiest experience. I've gone through another trader to sell a car in the past and it was similar.
It was just absolutely incredible, seamless, and easy. All I did was print out my email that I got from CarGurus with the actual offer, and the recommendation of the dealer that I actually went to that CarGurus presented to me which was in my area. I went there and I literally was walking out with a check in less than 40 minutes. The majority of the work was just paperwork and that's it.

The first time I used CarGurus, they were very good and I got a decent deal out of them. The second time, they were way lowballing me. I had an $85,000 truck, wanted $70,000 for it, and they wanted it down to $61,000, so I just walked out on them.

I thought this would be a direct, quick text to dealer. Did not know CarGurus would intercept the text. I knew at that moment this is not good. They did not know answer to my question they had to past along to dealer. So not productive at all, just a GATE to make me go through! Extra layer of non-productivity. If you're asking about CarGurus Website?? Then I would say I really like the website, just not incepting my of my text.

I’m wondering why the price selling price is so low and it has low mileage is not that high?? I live in Hardin Montana but I’m interested in the Honda ridge line but I would have to travel to get a test drive and I couldn’t do that as I am disabled and my income is from Social Security.

What I was given, I could have figured out on my own. Useless. Come up with a better solution for potential customers. You only get one First Impression.

While the Cargurus platform itself did not connect me with the car vendor and the phone number listed did not connect me with the dealer, the connected agent, Jonel, was prompt to respond, well informed, and helpful. He assisted in coordinating a test drive of a vehicle I am interested in purchasing on behalf of an organization and offered to set up a payment conversation with the dealer as well. Appreciate his help.

I received great orders but when dealers contacted me received denials and different information and different prices and different terms advertised at CarGurus. Is a lost in time and efforts. Dealers did not provide the listed offers or prices neither terms neither approvals. Then your credit score dropped points and have inquiries on credit reports.
So we can review the listings and investigate the dealers involved.

BEWARE - CarGurus listed prices are deliberately misleading. For example, they list a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV for $64,384 - but this ALREADY has a $3,000 Consumer Cash discount and a $7500 federal EV tax credit built into it (which not everyone is eligible for). An honest company would list this at $74,884, as this is the equivalent, apples-to-apples price that other dealerships list. I'm kicking myself for not finding and reading the fine print (that was hidden by an additional click) on the listing. We spent the day driving hours to the listed dealership, only to find that the car was $10,500 more than what we were expecting. I hope to save others from being victims of this kind of trickery.

I was already there at the dealership, and my days ran out on how much that offer would be good, so I just went ahead and sold it. If I could have had a longer expiration date, I would have had more time to negotiate with other dealerships and get some type of assurance that the price offered would have been honored. But I just wanted it to be over so in the end, I didn’t like the sale.

This is all about timing. Have outdated cars on this. Not sure if dealer ever got message we were interested. Still showing this car and it's sold. Dealer never got back to us, probably cuz they didn't know we were interested. Better to contact dealers yourself.

I sold my Honda Odyssey through CarGurus. The transaction with the dealership was smooth and fast. It took only a few hours. Their app gave me good access and showed me a few more options. This saves my time when I look for a car or when I want to sell a car. I shared the app with my brother and some of my friends. I recommend CarGurus very highly.

I sold my vehicle through one of the CarGurus affiliates. It was straightforward. They put the vehicle information up and different dealerships put in an offer for the car. That worked out.
The dealership was good. It took me a week to get my check because of the amount of money and the managers were out. Aside from that, it was all right. I'd tell people to give CarGurus a look.

When I got to the dealership, they looked over the vehicle and said they could not find anything wrong with it or anything different. But they still offered me $1,000 less than the price shown on the CarGurus website. I was disappointed because they were supposed to agree to the price that CarGurus gave me. I was dissatisfied with the experience.

Hoping to trade my Infiniti QX60 2016 (still making payments on) for a small mini cooper of a lesser value to avoid too much negative equity. I prefer blue and must be automatic. My vehicle has 161,000 miles, sunroof, heated seats, three rows of seats. Good Working Condition!

I am disappointed with Car Gurus. I found and purchased a car through their site. I was allowed to take it on a short test drive along with a salesman. Eventually, I drove it on the highway home and noticed a shaking - the tires and entire brake system was shot. A mechanic said we had been duped and the car is unsafe to drive. Car Gurus did not want to get involved and suggested I contact consumer affairs. Although Car Gurus states their cars are CPO (Certified Pre-owned) vehicles, some are not. Car Gurus sold a car unsafe to drive! Beware - they do not back this up.

Had a question about the used EV tax credit in relation to the car listed price. Car Gurus support said she would give my contact info to the dealership. She expressed empathy in my bit of frustration over why some EV sellers are not being up front about the listed price. That is, whether the price is before or after the 4K income tax credit. Asked if I preferred email or phone or texting, which was nice.

CarGurus only had 1 picture of the car I purchased so I had to rely on the salesman to be trustworthy and honest. Thankfully he was. The car I purchased was of good quality and condition. The convertible top was in new condition. The car had 2 small dents that were mostly unrecognizable. Good deal.

They offered barely 20% of the Kelley Blue Book value and only about 25% of what multiple dealers offered without a trade-in. The number was so low it made me question their ethics. Don’t waste your time.

Emeflor was wonderful in providing more info on the vehicle I was interested and connecting me to the dealership that had the car. Overall the process was smooth, I originally just messaged a bot first because I wanted to but then once I needed an actual representative they responded to me within minutes. Was willing to schedule me in directly and everything with the dealership so that was also pretty neat.

Car Gurus is a joke. They were to buy my car, kept emailing about how much they wanted my car and they would pick it up for free so I finally agreed. They only do pick ups during the week so I had to miss work to be at home to wait for them not only when they sent someone out to do the inspection but also on the day of pick up. Fast forward a few weeks to pick up day and lo and behold no one shows up to pick it up. Called them about it and all they could say was there was a delay and I would need to reschedule (another missed day of work), thank you but no thanks. Lots of other companies out there offering the same price to buy my car. Car Gurus can shove it.

The responsive agent was great in performing her duties, as it pertains to my interest in a used GMC Yukon, XL. If the agent didn't mention anything about a delivery test-drive, I wouldn't have known such an option existed. The website search is good, and you can find a few deals. But... Got 2 different offers from different dealers, wasted 5 hours one time driving and a few hours another time. Both times the dealer wanted to give 4 to 5 thousand less for the trade in quoted on the site.

Someone referred me to CarGurus because they had a successful experience with them, and there were people who said they’d had no good success with Carvana. I ended up going to CarGurus and had a good, successful story. I received several offers for my 2018 Nissan Rogue and scheduled an appointment with one of them, Spot Auto in Schenectady, New York. I met with the owner, and we were in and out within an hour. His offer was slightly lower but still reasonable. The process was effortless.
I had a good experience and would consider using CarGurus again to sell another vehicle. I have recommended them to several people who have never even heard of them before.

Today is 07/13/25. In the afternoon this day I went from Miami to West Palm Beach to this place to buy a car (LINCOLN MKZ 2018). I drove almost 80 miles because I really liked this car and I was determined to buy it. When I got there I was treated with a kindness difficult to describe because of how good I felt at that moment. A few minutes passed until we sat face to face with a person (to whom I thank 🙏🏽) for being honest with me and letting me know that the price of the car had nothing to do with the one published on the internet since this price (17497 dollars) should be added 4000 dollars more between FEES and others and other increases. I consider it a lack of respect on the part of this dealer things like these that are nothing more than a LIE to attract customers. Thanks to this person who DID NOT WASTE OUR TIME AND SPOKE TO US CLEARLY FROM THE BEGINNING!!! Me.
I will be in charge of sharing this opinion for all its dependencies throughout the country to see if many people see it and do not fall into traps like these!! In the end, TIME LOST FOR A LIE PUBLISHED ON THE INTERNET!!!! In the end, the real price of this car would be 21497 or maybe a little more!!!!

I drove over 61 miles to go to Autobakers 10109 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills, CA 91345. Changed offer and terms several times. First wanted $500 down payment then $1200 down last $4500. I said no. My son recorded the conversation with dealer and lender he’s only 10 yrs old. Dealer told lender. I need to raise the price on my van, lady is trying to buy my van!? What? What a complete waste of my time!! Dealers can’t be trusted nowadays!

I guess I was somehow unlucky, looking at various 5 stars reviews? Maybe. But here is my experience: Registered with CarGurus to sell my car. Received almost immediately several offers from CarGurus indicating several local dealership. Chose two top offers. Top was for $26,440. Ok, went there. Car is in excellent condition and have even extra package I did not have place to indicate in CarGurus form. Guy inspected my car and the only thing he said was: "Wow. You take care of your cars!" Which is true- I do. So inspection went through with 'flying colors'. Then he keeps me for 40 mins there going back and forth and then says: "Well, so we can offer $22,000. $4,440 less than the original offer!" "Why?" "Oh, well, you know, our customers so picky and this and that." BS! So I left and this time call ahead to another dealer whose offer was $25,770. And asked them to tell me if they honor the offer contingent on successful inspection.
The agent tells me "Oh, er, let me talk to general manager and I call you back". Ok. Though what's there to talk about? Do they honor their offers or not? Never heard back from them anymore. In the end, went to Carvana and immediately got reasonable offer which they honored with 0 hassle - took 10 mins inspection, writing a check and done. So, for the heck of it, called CarGurus and told about this experience. Well, the agent on the phone was apparently so impressed that went into coma mode - just went silent. Not that even started to ask any information about me or dealers or car... Overall, complete BS - nothing but bait and entrap tactics. Simply revolting. As any dishonest business.

We have had an amazing experience with CarGurus. They bought out our RAV4 a lbs have many options for us to explore for our next family vehicle. We are looking at staying close to home but there are also dealerships offering home deliveries! That is an excellent option for meeting the needs of customers.

Price on the ad is $14,398 so I called the number 424-386-8873 and asked if everything worked etc before I drive 45min away. Yes he said and BTW "Regarding the pricing, we have a $899 dealer fee on all our cars on top of the sales price". This kind of bait and switch should be illegal. Legend Autohaus just adds $899 to the stated price??? SCAM!!!

We live in Missouri and bought a BMW from this company for our hardworking son for graduation and They flat out lied…. (What a disaster. They should be ban for selling cars if they lie and sell lemons.) As soon as the car was shipped the engine light came on. We took it to our local BMW dealership and boy we found out it was basically a lemon.
Convertible leaks, Non BMW software, no cats, big paint scratch on hood, several modifications, which we specifically asked were there modifications. “No it’s stocked.” We trusted this company and their sales people told us the car was in good condition and that it would pass safety emissions. Besides all the drama with communicating with several people, They told us we got a good deal on this car, I said then give us our money back. The thought of them selling this car to someone else made me sick to my stomach.

Every time I find a good deal on a truck it's always something wrong with it. Honey I didn't submit it. Three credit applications and every time it's always they want too much for the truck or the trucks too or something. I'm just tired in dealing with these folks.

I was contacted by the dealer who prepared a purchase order. I replied that it was $7,700 over the price posted on CarGurus. The salesman explained that the difference is because you have to finance through them and any trade in has been to 2015 or newer with fewer than 70k miles. I said that this should have been in the disclosure info. He replied that carGurus was a “third party site” and that this disclosure was on the dealership's website. Very shady and felt like a bait and switch. Never again.

Lady was talking to me on the phone like I was bothering her by asking more questions about the car. I thought the objective of CarGurus was to sell cars. The person who helped me was wonderful. I requested a Carfax report on a specific vehicle, and it was sent to me within minutes. The listing from the dealership showed that this vehicle had zero accidents; however, the Carfax showed otherwise. The dealership also increase the price by $800 For no apparent reason. I shared with the representative that this makes me unsure if this is a reliable dealership or not. The representative agreed, and advised that she would contact the dealership and have them update the listing to reflect the accident. I was very pleased with the help I received.

The rep was not willing to help in any way, wouldn’t give a history of the car and didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked about it. I asked what was wrong with the car and couldn’t even give any details on owner history or any history regarding wrecks or maintenance.

I found the 2022 Ram Laramie that had all the features I wanted listed through CarGurus. I even called the contact to confirm that the truck indeed had a sunroof. Upon obtaining confirmation, I hauled 150 miles up 95 only to find out that the CarGurus' info was false. I conclude that CarGurus does not have their act together.

I was told I was approved on the site when they were wondering how I made out on the truck but the person I was dealing with wasn't real. I found out. Didn't give me lender information and they said they will give all information to dealership to wait for call from dealer. When I waited a while I called dealer. They said who was lender is the person I was didn't get lender information. They never left any information so I'm back to no truck was I was to begin with.

After looking for a year for a Nissan Frontier I was treated as an idiot by the trade in evaluator at Benson KIA in SC. I told him that I know the prices and trade in values nationwide and the trade in value of my 2010 Tacoma. Plus my son owns a dealership here in the Charlotte NC area that he buys salvage units weekly via online sale sites. The guy at Benson offered me a trade in of 6K$ below it's MINIMUM value. His sales Unit was listed on/thru CarGurus. I would have negotiated with the fellow but his offer was an insult!!!!

Every question that I had was answered or a solution was described. Very quick response to my questions. I now have to wait for the dealership to get back to me. I was inquiring about a Honda that has 203,000 miles on it. We are afraid of the mileage for that particular car. I certainly hope they can work with us on this. We need it to pull behind our Motorhome and will have to have the towing plate put on and get the correct towing bars to connect to the plate. We will be at our limit IF we can get it for $1,000 less. Otherwise we will have to pass.

I had a very bad experience with LW Automotive regarding a 2005 Mustang GT. Last week I inquired about the vehicle and after some negotiations, we came to a tentative deal. I then gave them my personal info for financing purposes and on sat, June 14th l, the sales manager Scott gave me a call to confirm they were sending me paperwork to sign via FedEx. 2-3 days pass and I received a text from a salesman stating the car had been sold and he was unaware of any paperwork. I felt I was lead on and lied to, very unprofessional, especially since several days earlier they congratulated me on making a deal with them. I want to make sure my review can be seen by others so they don't fall into the same trap I did.

CarGurus connect me with a dealer through their website. Although not mentioned anywhere, after driving an hour and a half to see the vehicle I was told it was as is with no warranty. (For a car was less than 20,000 miles.) There were other issues as well at the car dealership and for the last five days, I’ve tried to leave a review of the dealership on cargurus. The cargurus website is difficult to navigate through and virtually impossible to leave a review on.

I used to use Cargurus and have found a few cars that I ended up buying in the past. It was easy. They only recently decided to update the search engine and now I can't look for a Coupe any further than 100 miles from home unless I search for something specific. I live in a small town, away from major cities, so I have to search far and wide for good deals. They really messed up the search engine and making it frustrating to find a good deal over 100 miles from home. It can still be done with many extra steps. I think for now I will have to go back to using Autotrader. Hopefully they fix this soon. That's my only complaint.

Don't try to influence my review CarGurus. Other people come to this site to get reviews on cars??? Every time I go to look up a car your thing comes up. I went to buy a car and it was marked down to 5995. By the time I got done trying to pay cash for it I went up to almost $10,000 And that was through CarGurus. I went to buy it from a dealership and they still tried to charge me $9,500 and it was the worst experience of my life. I have a brother-in-law that works in a car dealership and he couldn't even wrap his head around this.

My credit was ruined by divorce and I've been working hard to get my credit points up, they are now 570, but it can be taken directly out direct to you when my check hits on the 3rd of each month. I have used CarGurus to search for vehicles a few times and I have to say it's very convenient. A few of the features I really like are.
2. They will email or text you when a car you are watching drops in price.
3. They have detailed descriptions of all the cars as well as a bunch of pictures for most vehicles.
4. Most cars have a Carfax done and they provide the information to you.
5. You can get pre-approved through their lending partners right over the app.
I read some reviews where people complained about dealerships not responding or contacting them. That was not my experience. Every dealership that I sent a message through the app saying I was interested in the car contacted me the same day in most cases. The phone numbers are listed as well as the address and state and distance from your location. I'm not sure why people were complaining about dealerships not contacting them back. If anything I got too much attention.
It's not CarGurus' fault if a company does not follow up on a sales lead. They provide all the information for you to get a hold of them but they can't force a dealership to call you back or be attentive. I did not get the Cadillac that I wanted because I had limited credit and was not able to get financed and had to have a family member cosign and I bought a Honda Accord locally. I will definitely use CarGurus in the future. My experience was excellent with them. Thank you for providing an excellent service, and making finding the car you want easy and enjoyable.

CarGurus was great for locating cars. I found my new vehicle at Hayes Chrysler and Dodge (Duluth). The saleman stated multiple times. The price that appears on CarGurus is WRONG and they do not honor that price. The female working in Hayes dealership gave the worst deal you could imagine. Everything will be digital at your closing so pay attention to your add on’s. She lied about a lot of information and was very unprofessional. If you’re using CarGurus for your car search GREAT. But save yourself the hassle and stress and avoid Hayes Chrysler and Dodge Ram (Duluth).

I went online and was looking at the value of my 2020 Ford Expedition. There were dealers in my area that would be interested in buying it, and CarGurus is one that showed up through Bill Luke in Mesa, Arizona, and I took it over there.
We went into the dealership and the gentleman came out, we had the appointment set up. They said it would usually take an hour from start to finish. We were there a little closer to two hours, but they needed to look at a few different things on the vehicle to make sure they all checked out.
It was the easiest process that we’ve ever had. Within $500 of what they quoted online is what we got. It was a great experience. The price is fair and very good. Their website was extremely easy to use. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and courteous.

The online agent was very friendly and helpful. I am going to look at the vehicle tomorrow. If I like it then I will have my mechanic take a look at it. Took time out of my day to look at vehicle that was online for $16,995, wait an hour and a half for them to open up when I finally seen the vehicle. I asked him how much it was and he told me $22,000. And he’s telling me which I do know taxes and a dealer fee and plus a financing fee, but still doesn’t add up to $5000 and he told me that’s the price.

I’ve been using CarGurus for several months as an aid in determining just which make, model, price, locale and age vehicle I desire, and can afford. The experience has been very satisfying. Searches can be finely tuned to include only the vehicles one wants to consider, and the most interesting ones can be listed as favorites. It saves a mountain of time. I’ve only recently narrowed my search and started to take advantage of “call make sure the vehicle is still available” feature. It seems that doing so allows the opportunity to ask questions, which is valuable in my mind. I endorse CarGurus as being the best of the several other services I have worked with.

Always immediately assisted in my inquiry,!!! Can count on Car Gurus to provide new listings as soon as possible. They will contact dealer on a person's behalf for information or any suggested assistance I may need, or that they recommend will be of benefit for me. Unlike most other car apps, and their listings, car gurus don't seem to miss a lot of new listings as most of the others, I all double check after another sources contact me, to get my best accurate information as possible.

I was interacting with the chat bot at first and then supposedly a human but obviously it was still a bot because I inquired about a Cadillac and it was talking Toyota. But other than that I like CarGurus. How else would I find out about cars that are in all these places.

CarGurus had a pretty straightforward process. I was selling a car and looking for a check. But they did not match up with the other offers. They might up their values, as they were $2,000 cheaper than another place that I went to. So, I didn’t sell my car to them.

The pre-approval was easy, but search was inaccurate. Additionally, a the pre-approval resulted in numerous unauthorized hard inquiries. The only the contact them was via CHAT. I became discouraged, anger, etc.

I sold a Volkswagen through CarGurus, and I had a seamless experience. It was great. And I used them because they’re popular, and they had a legitimate hit on the dealer. Everyone else just gave me a Blue Book estimate, but they filtered through local dealerships and had someone that was interested. And then I set up the meeting there. I didn’t get the full offer upon inspection of the vehicle because there were a couple of blemishes on the body and a couple of dents that I didn’t disclose on the form, just because I didn’t put much effort into the form, but I was happy with my experience. The offer I got was completely fair, agreed upon, and we cashed the check.
The process of generating the offer at the dealership wasn’t long. And then when we went to drop it off a few days later, because we had to make arrangements for another vehicle at that time, it was almost less than five minutes just to sign the bill of sale. So, my experience with CarGurus couldn’t have gone better. Maybe more money, but I understand it’s a business.

We are not pleased with the Mercedes dealership because we had a quote for 26,000, and what they gave us was 24,000. I thought that was wrong considering we have gotten the quote even though it had gone past the day of the quote.
We had told them when I called about it that we were out of state handling family matters in Arizona and that we would be back on the 22nd. They said the time had expired, and they wanted to give us less. They wanted to give us 22,000, and I said that was not reasonable, and so we settled for the said amount. That was very disappointing. The dealership needs to honor what has been quoted.

Quick response time, pertinent information related to my inquiries sufficiently conveyed. Hassle free, efficient narrowing of expenditure of time on my behalf - CarGurus does the legwork of inquiry as to availability rather than my sitting on hold with dealerships to secure the same determination as to availability. Phone calls to dealerships at times are an unpleasant experience with hold times and sales staff who offer unsolicited information at times.

Did help at all. Just said it suggested I contact dealership. Well that's what I did. They didn't even connect me. Need better communication and when I inquiry about a car it doesn't even send it back when the dealership emails me so I forget what car I asked about.

CarGurus was straightforward with me. I told them the price for my Camaro and that I would not take less than what it was. The tires on the car were brand-new. But, apparently, the big dealership that I dealt with in Placerville, when they sold me the car, the tires were already three years old. So, there was a date issue. The guy then said that I would have to replace them. So, I took $1,000 less on what they offered me, which was fine. They had to replace the tires and I understood that.
This is the first time I dealt with CarGurus and they were all nice. Everybody was kind and courteous, and the guy I sold the car to was also cool. It was a painless situation. I was in and out of there within 30 minutes and done with the deal. They were even nice enough to get me a Lyft ride home, and I live 30 miles away. Overall, it was a good experience. If I had to sell another vehicle, I would go back there. It was bittersweet selling the car because it was practically brand-new, and it had 12,000 miles on it. It still smelled brand-new inside.

No worth spending any more texting or typing. You all need people to quality control this site. To explain how bad your site is I should be able to tell you what my problem was. It's all the connecting with the car companies or the car dealerships and then they keep texting your phone and you type answers and questions and it takes us, "Sorry we don't understand that."

I inquired about history of smoking in the vehicle. It is very important to me. I was told that it would be looked into. I suggested CarGuru have a filter for history of previous owner smoking in the vehicle as some people have health issues and require oxygen. I have been looking at and researching many vehicles on your site. I just started to take history of smoke in the vehicle as an issue. It doesn’t always affect the consumer but also those that the consumer carries in the vehicle with them.

Very good transactions with the agent from Car Gurus who quickly obtained the information I asked for. He was effective in transmitting the info to the dealer who also responded to me with a packet of information on the auto, a 2023 S580 Mercedes which was undergoing certification at their facility. I was able to schedule a visit to view the car the next day and to have my 2019 S 450 evaluated for trade in. So far, so good. Kudos to Car Gurus and Mercedes of North Haven.

The car listed by CarGurus did not match the picture (car in picture had no license plate, different color). I raised the issue and CarGurus rep stated the dealer would send correct info. Dealer did not and somehow the car was sold the evening before the scheduled test drive. I don’t believe the car was ever available and it was a bit of a “bait and switch” situation. Will not use CarGurus or Honda of Steven’s Creek.

I got my car on January 2nd. My temporary tags expired on February 16th. I have yet to Receive my tags! I called Ben ** multiple times and told him I didn’t get my tags, he told me be patience. Then I called him again and he said he did his part and to call dmv and see where my tags are. I called dmv and they said no paperwork was submitted pertaining my 2020 Nissan rouge. I called Ben again and he is now saying he works with a third party. He sends the paperwork to the third party and they haven’t received yet. Here we all in march and I’m driving around illegally! I have to work so I have to drive but it is truly scary and I don’t feel safe. If you could contact me as soon as possible that would be great.

I exchanged messages for a while with a dealer, they are a little ways away and not a quick trip to visit in person. They were very responsive and I sent an offer. They replied and added $999 for ceramic coating, which was not mentioned in their ad posting on CarGurus. This seems common on Car Gurus postings, sometimes dealers mention extra added charges and sometimes they don't. I stuck to my offer and they eventually accepted it. Haven't picked up the car yet and hope it all goes smoothly.

I wanted to pay cash. Because CarGurus is a broker, I had to set up financing to get the dealer paid and the car shipped. The shipping went fine, and the vehicle was in perfect condition. The problem was that it took the dealership (Crestmont in Cleveland) and the financial group (Westlake financial in California) 3 months from the time the vehicle was fully paid off to get me the title. I will not use CarGurus again.

CarGurus permits dealerships to prudently post a price online and the day of the transaction with the with the buyer, dealership changes the price to 4,000 more. Notified CarGurus and nothing was done about it.... My next step is to notify Capital One in writing with the receipts and the text and chat history to validate my claim.

It took me about a month and a half but finally got what I wanted. The only thing I wished I had done was use CarGurus and got pre-approved for a loan missed out on a few vehicles I was interested in. Was really fun. Met a lot of interesting sales reps. And I will keep using CarGurus. Very pleased.

It was not good. I didn't have no contact. No one never called me. I put in my income and the car was just 4000.00 and I was and still trying to get call back. So is there anyone going to call me back? There is 2 vehicles that I was interested in and once I put a thousand down on the vehicle that will take the price down to 3000 and I've already have my insurance on stand by.
