Autoplex Extended Services is potentially worth considering if your vehicle is still under factory warranty and you're looking for coverage options and benefits that fit your budget. However, the company’s website has limited information, and you can only get a quote if the company sends you a notice. You may be able to find more coverage options with some of its competitors.

Autoplex Extended Services has been in business since 2009, providing vehicle service contracts. These contracts cover vehicle repairs or replacements, including parts, labor and taxes. And this coverage continues for a specific period or mileage, depending on the terms of your contract.

The company, located in Saint Charles, Missouri, also does business as Motor Vehicles Services. (When we called the number listed on the Autoplex website, the call went to Motor Vehicle Services. A customer service representative told us Autoplex and Motor Vehicle Services are the same company.)

Autoplex Extended Services provides limited information about the availability and limits of its plans, and its website appears to be outdated. (The online quote tool only allows you to select vehicles up to the 2010 model year.) However, you can get more information about plan limits if you receive a notice to purchase an Autoplex vehicle service contract.

Autoplex Extended Services offers three levels of coverage: Gold, Platinum and Diamond. The Gold plan offers powertrain coverage, which includes your vehicle’s engine, transmission, drive axle and some electrical system components.

The company’s midrange plan, Platinum Coverage, is best for vehicles with up to 100,000 miles on their odometers. It builds on the Gold plan to cover more components, including your fuel system and steering.

The company’s top-tier Diamond Coverage plan covers most vehicle systems and parts outside of routine maintenance and normal wear and tear. It also includes tire coverage.

Autoplex ES coverage limits

Normally, auto warranty companies limit payouts based on a vehicle’s value through the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). However, Autoplex says its Gold Plan coverage comes with a $10,000 cap. We recommend you contact the company to learn more about how it limits payouts on each of its plans before you buy.

When we called Autoplex Extended Services for price quotes, a customer service representative for Motor Vehicle Services said the company couldn’t cover vehicles that are no longer under a factory warranty unless we had received a notice. Without a notice, Autoplex won’t provide quotes for its three coverage plans.

If you get a notice and choose to purchase an Autoplex vehicle service contract, you can choose from three deductible options: $0, $50 or $100. To purchase a policy, you can pay the full premium at once or make monthly payments. If you choose to pay in monthly installments, you’ll still need to make a down payment upfront.

Autoplex Extended Services offers additional benefits with its vehicle service contracts at no additional cost. These benefits include towing and 24-hour roadside assistance.

Autoplex Extended Services provides fully transferable policies, meaning you can transfer a vehicle service contract to the new owner if you sell your car. If you trade in your vehicle, you can cancel the remainder of your policy and receive a prorated refund.
