My son was the one who was in Washington State, and they picked up the vehicle. They dropped it off where I live and it's on private roads. These are little cow paths, one car at a time. They're not two-lane highways. The driver was excellent. He came early, so there was nobody else. He was able to drop it off. It was perfect.

When you're moving from a state to state transport, there's a lot of stress. AmeriFreight made it no stress at all. We were happy. The driver communicated with my son, saying, “This is when I plan on being there, and I'm in the area.” That was great. Everything worked out. If somebody was thinking about it, I would tell them to go forward with it. The pricing was fantastic. We couldn't have driven it for that price. The whole experience was fantastic. It was timely and the communication was there. I would do it again in a heartbeat. If I ever have to move out of state and have to take a vehicle, AmeriFreight is going to be my first choice.

My husband took off work to make sure that he could be over in this area for the delivery because he was supposed to work in a different location. But the delivery ended up not being until the next day. We were worried that we didn't know when he was coming, and it was looking like it was gonna be after hours and no one was going to be at the location, and we didn't want the driver to just turn around. So it snowballed into a lot of things. When I talked to our rep, which I should have reached out to her sooner, she got me the information right away and texted me after hours to make sure that it actually had been completed. So she did an amazing job. But I was frustrated in the first part.

The receipt I got said I'd have a driver with one name, and I got a message pretty quickly from a different driver with a different name. I was, "Is this spam or is this the actual driver who's going to show up?" He was quick at first, but I wasn't sure if he was a real person or not. So, I didn't engage with them. They ended up showing up and I wasn't ready for them because I wasn't sure if he was the actual driver. I tried to get ahold of the driver to say, "Hey, give me 20 minutes to get back," but it was hard. I was worried I lost him as far as he just went away. But luckily, he picked up my wife's phone call. He said he was waiting. So in the end, even though he wasn't good about getting back to me, he was friendly and patient. It turned out fine.

But I wish that if you tell them the day you need the car to be shipped, they can verify that for you a week or even two weeks ahead of time. But because of the nature of the trucking industry, that's out of their hands. It really just depends on the trucker and the availability that they have. In my case, I told AmeriFreight the date when I needed the car to be shipped, and it wasn't until three days before the car was picked up that I got a notice about it. So they need a bit more efficiency with that and with AI, they could be be able to confirm things at least a couple of more days ahead of time than what I was given. Other than that, it was very easy to connect to a customer service agent. There were times when, just to be sure that they still had me on their roster, I would have to call in and make sure. In the end, AmeriFreight did a great job of making sure that my car got to its destination and it was passed on to my family member with ease.

I used my agent twice. That was my second time using her for AmeriFreight. She was like, “You purchase the insurance if you don't want nothing to happen to the vehicle. And you submit the deposit, and you pay the rest of it to the driver. And try to have the driver reach out to you during the delivery.” The driver's been doing a little bit better on that one, actually coordinating with you and not the agent at that time.

My first pick-up was absolutely horrible. It's because there were no drivers going out there that wanted to take the route because I had a truck. I guess it was just an inconvenience for any brokers to wanna pick the truck up. It stayed on the boards for months. But my Mercedes got back pretty quickly because it's a small car. Nobody was going from Utah to Georgia for a decent price. Somebody wanted like 3,200 for one way. I was like, “Nah. We'll leave it posted and have another broker pick it up.” There were no drivers heading that way at the time. It was also during the winter, so it's more of a risk. It eventually got to me. I did have to get a rental car for the time being, and I had to come out of pocket a little bit with that one.

The last driver was very unprofessional. He was like, "Why did you lie to me?” I told him I couldn't come pick the vehicle up because I was one person. He wanted me to Uber to him. He wanted me to come out of my own pocket. I said, "Do you wanna pay? If you pay for my Uber, I'll come to you.” His truck was 80,000 pounds, but the road was only rated for like 52,000. It would have been better if he would have come out and told me that in the beginning, but bygones is bygones at this point. It was my first time having any experience with a car dispatch business. I just didn't know how it worked and some of the politics that come with it, but I would recommend AmeriFreight for sure.
