I paid for my account at Office 365. I am locked out because someone changed my security phone and password giving them my account. Or a virus in their system. Microsoft informed me my information does not match their information so they locked the account from me. They inform me I have to wait 30 days before they decide if I am the owner of my account. Something rub you wrong about this? My contract was for a year. It was recently opened. So I can't get my Outlook mail. The only thing I can think to do is go to my bank and ask for a refund from Microsoft. Maybe that will wake them up to who paid for the account. My desktop used the Microsoft data to sign in so I can't sign in to my property. I can't get into my computer.

This is a serious issue when an entity can lock you off your desktop because they can't control their security. They just don't care. I can't call or post an email because you need to be able to sign in to your account to do it. Get this. They can contact through my Gmail but they need 2 steps they stated on the useless recovery system. They literally send texts to my phone they claim is not my contact number in order to send codes to my email inbox. Which is the 2nd contact they need, they state it is the wrong number. And the worst is they claim this damage to me is in the name of security.

I used to rely on Excel and Word for precision workflows—scattered copy, hybrid selection, non-contiguous formatting. Microsoft broke those features without warning. They removed core functionality, forced Snipping Tool as a workaround, and buried real support behind a cluttered, confusing website. I waste time trying to fix what they broke—and I’m paying for it. This isn’t innovation. It’s sabotage. I’ve submitted feedback and filed complaints on Trustpilot and ComplaintsBoard. I’ll be posting this publicly on BBB, Reddit, and Twitter/X, tagging executives and exposing this mess to every user who’s been burned by their arrogance. Microsoft deserves every ounce of backlash coming their way.

There IS no customer service. They know they have us over a hump and they’re never going to change it. Whatever you do, do NOT get involved with them - they’ll never let you log into your account again. You need 30 email addresses and you’ll never have access to your old info - never again. It is ridiculous to think that Microsoft could possibly think that utilizing AI for their support instead of having real people to talk to could be a reliable and viable source of customer service. It is the MOST frustrating way for a business customer to receive support to solve an issue with their account. Especially considering all we wanted to do is resolve a billing issue and ensure payment is made for our account. I understand this is possibly Bill Gate's way to penny pinch and put money in his pocket instead of supporting real families that might need a job, but this is outrageous to expect customers to speak to a damn robot to solve their issues with Microsoft products. I wish I could provide a zero rating.

I went to their website to renew my Microsoft 365 subscription so that I could update some documents and attach them to a job application. I chose the $9.95 a month subscription, and after paying (and them taking the money from my bank account) It did not activate. I want to the AI chat, and it just kept telling me to check this and check that. Nothing worked, and it never activated. So after waiting and messing with it for about a half an hour, I gave up.

When I went to cancel the subscription it gave me two choices, cancel and enjoy your one month subscription and you won't be charged $9.95 again in October, or end subscription now for a refund of the $9.95. So I clicked on end subscription now to get the refund. And immediately the page came up, your subscription will be good until October 9th. So, no refund for me! I am so sick and tired of these rip off companies who fraudulently keep your money and give you no service for it! It is just so infuriating. But if you try to report it to anybody, nobody does anything about it! So they continue and continue to do it! Just wanted everybody to know what a bunch of crooks they are!

I don’t get how Microsoft isn’t held accountable for shit. I went to play my Xbox a few weeks ago and it told me upon powering on that my “account was locked for security purposes” and I’d need to verify my identity to use it. I filled out the online form, answered all of its questions correctly, and it told me they couldn’t verify my identity and would therefore block my account entirely. Tried talking to customer service, which is driven by an AI that literally doesn’t understand any prompt it’s given whatsoever. Despite that, I’m still being charged for my Xbox subscription, and was told in my monthly renew email that if it’s incorrect, to contact billing @Microsoft.com, so I did, and was promptly informed by my email that that doesn’t exist. All my games, all my progress, all the time, all the money spent on said games, console, subscriptions, completely gone, and they’re still continuing to charge me. Disgusting.

They just keep running me around in circles. How did they even get this account information? I never consented to it. Microsoft is fraudulently taking $73 out of my account every single month. How is it that they (Microsoft) are allowed to FORCE people to use what they want them to use? How is it that they can legally COST people money by making a new operating system that makes software purchased by the consumer redundant and unusable? How is it that they can refuse to make themselves available to their consumers when they (the consumer) has issues with their products?

When is this company going to be held accountable and forced to change their practices AND compensate their consumers for what they (Microsoft) has cost them? For the past two years, I’ve struggled with an ongoing issue with Microsoft. Recently, I spent about 10 hours discussing this with indifferent support staff. While they quickly charge my card for the annual subscription, their payment processing is flawed. After my wife changed her credit card, somehow, they still charged us the fee and applied it to an inactive account.

Despite reaching out for help, I had to explain the problem repeatedly, suggesting they don’t log our conversations. They raised my subscription price without notice, and I’ve overpaid because of their mistakes. They refunded my last $99 payment and promised a credit, but only gave me one month of coverage before canceling. I decided to stop using Microsoft and wanted to download my files from the past three years. However, they refused access unless I purchased a new subscription, despite those files being created when my account was active. Now, I'm locked out of my resume and important schoolwork, risking their loss unless I pay for a subscription. It's frustrating that a public company would hold my personal files hostage like this.

MFA Account Issue: Ticket (**). I was locked out of my Microsoft Office 365 business account. The lady who helped me with this ticket was not helpful at all for the following reasons:

1.) I could not understand her at all, I am an english speaking individual and could barely understand her when speaking to me explaining the problem.

    2) On the 24th she mentioned that she was going to reset my MFA and I would be able to login by tonight, she also mentioned she would send me an email. I received zero email or communication responses she did not reset anything.

3.) I called into the 18008659408 to complain again that I had still not been able to access my account after 5 days. She then called me the morning for the 27th to say that it was reset. Magically everything was working. My issue is that she makes false promises to customers and does not follow up on it or do what she says she is going to do. This has resulted my entire business email to be down for 5+ days.

4.) Additionally to this she called me on 2 occasions and I told her to call me back in 15min so I could get to a better place to take the call. No callbacks after confirming on two occasions she would call back.

5.) How does it take 5 days to sort out a MFA issue, my business has been offline from emails for 5 days because of this.

6.) The support numbers don't help at all, none of the commercial business support numbers can assist me with this issue on the phone, every single one of them arranged for a call back the next day. This is a major issue because the person who is supposed to be arranged for the call back has no urgency.

7.) If the technician can't call me why can't they just send an email - I asked 3 times to change my primary source of contact to be set to email instead of phone call after eventually giving up that the call would resolve anything.

This whole situation has put an extremely bad taste in my mouth - I do not ever leave reviews but I have gone out my way to write this review with how bad the service and support has been. MFA taking 5+ days to resolve?

Microsoft makes this extremely difficult since they (a) seem to release patches to Office 365 every 2 weeks or so, and (b) will not permit their auto-update tool to be paused, configured to only check manually for updates, and (c) Will not permit the auto-update tool to be configured to a less volatile update channel.
