The action alleges that subscribers who maintain multiple screen names on their AOL account have unknowingly had those screen names "spun-off" into individual separate accounts. AOL then automatically bills the subscriber's credit card or bank account the normal 23.90 monthly subscription fee for this spun-off account. Oftentimes it has taken months for subscribers to find the problem, because AOL has allegedly intentionally manipulated the billing cycle for the spun-off accounts in order to make it appear that the charges are for different billing cycles.

Beware of AOL billing, they like to double bill you, and if u cancel your account watch your billing information because they will bill you again after you have cancel. AOl offers free email since 2006 I found out today, so why are the charging anyone at all.

My situation is Aol is double billing me on my account. I have one computor and this has been going on for over a year. My service is 26.95. About three days later I get A DEBIT FROM MY BANK FOR 32.90. wHAT CAN i DO ABOUT THIS AND WHAT IS MY POSSIBILITY OF REINBURSEMENT. I also need a phone numbers so I can call these and let them know how I fill about this. Thank you.

We noticed that we have been being double billed by Time Warner 26.95 and AOL 25.90 on May 26, 2009 (on our anniversary, what a great gift! HUH?) We noticed b/c for my husband to get on line a few days beforehand he had to pay on line he thought that was weird but he paid it b/c he thought he was paying Time Warner. Our AOL was supposed to be FFREE so we never thought that we would paying AOL, anyway that never happened before and we new we were behind on the Time Warner bill.

Well we received a bill from Time Warner for 86.? and my husband told that he already paid it, so we looked at our bank statements and noticed we were being charged from TWC and TWX AOL we looked back a few more months and noticed that it kept on going back further and further all the way back to August of 2007. In total they owe us 569.80 but refuse to pay! We went to Time Warner they said to call AOL nether helped then we called AOL fraud and she was worse. This is ridiculous! I am so mad!

When I received my bank statement I saw that I was being billed for 2 accounts. I only ave one account.  When I telephoned AOL they said they would send me a form to fill out regarding fraud and when I filled this out and mailed it back I 'might' be able to get a refund regarding some type of fraud. This is an AOL error plain and simple.

Being on social security every penny counts and this is not the first time I've been deceived and over-billed significantly by AOL.

This is regarding the AOL DOUBLE BILLING They were DOUBLE BILLING me for almost 2.5 years and I just notice back around January of 2009 because at first I thought maybe someone was using my acct. When I inquired they would not tell me but then I started pulling my statements from my bank acct and discovered this. I pulled all my statements for a year. AOL stated that their systems only go back as far as six months. I sent them copies of my statement for a year and then I discovered even FARTHER BACK from 2009 to 2006.

I got all this stuff together made copies and HIGHLIGHTED THESE DOUBLE AND SOMETIMES TRIPLE BILLING AND SOME FOR DIFFERENT AMOUNTS. All of this came to 1018.16 but they said 957.00 They also stated that this money would be CREDITED BACK to MY ACCOUNT in 10-14 days. I spoke with RYAN OF AOL FRAUD DEPT on March 6 2009 about 10:00 a.m. regarding the money being CREDIT BACK TO MY ACCOUNT.

I am HAPPY TO SAY THAT THE MONEY HAS BEEN RETURN BACK TO MY ACCOUNT. I will be changing internet services soon. IF YOU HAVE YOUR STATEMENTS MAKE COPIES AND MAIL THEM TO THEM IN A MANILA ENVELOPE TIGHTLY SEALED OR CERTIFIED MAIL TO THE FRAUD DEPT AT: AOL FRAUD DEPT; STERLING VA 20165-8804 but first let them fax or send you the letter because it has a confirmation number on it that you will need to be identified

I have been double billed for years for AOL service for me and my husband. We only have one account. Attempts to contact the company by phone . . they say we do not have an account with them. We tried contacting them through the internet and they have no customer service web site.

The overbilling is 14.95 per month for five years or about 900. I do not want an attorney to contact me because I am an attorney.
