Thermador

Steve of San Francisco CA (02/26/07)
This is the worse range oven ever. i purchased in 1996 and throughout the 9 years i've had it, it has never worked properly. the grills chipped when hot, the broiler doesn't work, the igniters failed constantly, the steel plating on door comes apart when the oven is on, the stove fails to ignite when baking for over 1 hour, the oven light switch failed twice, after repair of the broiler still does not work. this is by far the worse investment ever. for 3000 dollars, you'd think a quality product should be delivered. customer service puts you on hold for eternity (probably dealing with large complaints like mine).

Our Thermador oven has broken 5 times now, and the company has terrible service. Don't even think about buying a thermador product! The gas valves quit working completely, and have always leaked gas into our house, very unsafe. we have complained numerous times, and it does no good. This was the biggest waste of money in our remodel, they are unsafe and need constant repairs. our bill is over 1000 to keep it running. Every 6 months another valve fails. We will have it removed and sold as junk (not safe to resell)

We have disconected our stove at the advice of the inspector, the gas leak is internal and common to these stoves from we have heard. This product will put your family's health at risk. We wasted thousands on this junk and suggest NOBODY even consider these disaster procucts. Good luck with customer service, they even took their email contacts off the web site. Rated F in all aspects. Terrible, terrible terrible!!!!

I own a thermador oven model number SMW 272YP that had a display burn out. After contacting the company I was told that the display was not under warranty. I proceeded to pay thermador to replace the part and was told by the technician that this is a common part that is burning out. I also went into my local store and was told that the display was burning out on most theramdor units. I then proceeded to recall theramdor and ask why this part was not warrantied and was told that the unit was 5 years old. I asked what percentage of these units had burnt out and was told that is none of my business. My point is that if these displays are burning out that fast there must be some type of defect.

I wish I had read reviews for this range before purchasing. I have had problems with oven since it was installed in April,2005. Oven goes on or not, I never know. it seems after reading reviews I have a motherboard problem. Of course it's not on warrantey now. Expensive investment for unreliable product. I don't know how they stay in business.

Peter of South San Francisco CA (12/24/06)
We purchased a Thermador 36 range, Model PG364GEBS, serial # 3950500836, for 7,043.87 on 10-10-2005. On 10-13-2005 the oven stopped working and was fixed under warranty. On 01-24-2006 the oven stopped working again and was fixed on warranty. On 10-17-2006 the oven stopped working again. I was told that the warrenty was over and I complained about the two other breakdowns; they fixed it as a courtesy. I was told that there would be no other repairs on warranty.

Three different parts were replaced in the three repairs and the last time it was the mother board. After complaining once I received one return email stating that they have fullfilled their obligation. Thermador has refused to communicate in any manner since then. If it breaks again, I figure in about 2 months, I will have it fixed and sell it. Are there any sites that I can get the information out to the public? I want to let every one know that Thermador does not stand behind their product and that Thermador is owned by Bosch.

I have not been able to use my oven for a total of eight weeks in one year. We are always wondering if the oven will work and have no peace of mind.
